Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

What's up, guys? This is Clivert Taylor the 4th. And on my podcast, The Clivert Show,
I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff. Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me. He goes,
Hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue 42.
Hey, ref, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Where's she at?
Hey, Miss Parker.

Will Ferrell's Big Money Players and IHart Podcasts presents soccer moms.
So I'm Leanne.
Yeah.
This is my best friend, Janet.
Hey.
And we have been joined at the hips since high school.
Absolutely.
A redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip.
Just a little bit bigger hips.
This is a podcast.
We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer.

hard seltzer instead of beer? Oh, they had a
bogo. Well, then you got it. Listen to soccer moms

What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano. It's our
favorite time of the year on our podcast
point game, the playoffs. We're digging into
the biggest surprises of the season, and I'm looking
back on some of my greatest playoff moments.
If we didn't talk ever again,
I was finding. You just understood.
That's how personal it got.
Wow.
Then after that game seven, Marquis come in to you, he's like, you know I love you, dog.
You know, it's all love.
This was just playoffs.
This was just basketball.

It is Ask Anything Wednesday.
Also for everybody in the restaurant, and if you're here, remember you make the predictions
about the playoff games this weekend,
and the people that are the closest will have a chance to win
up to $8,000 in prizes from KS. Barr.
So from now until Saturday, when you come in here,
you can predict the score of the games.
They're cutting them up right now for all the games,
and whoever gets the closest will be able to win cash prizes and happiness.
They said there's three levels of prizes?
Yeah, we're going to have prizes during the semifinal game.
and then the final game.
That's awesome.
So I think we're doing 2,000 on each semifinal game and then 4,000 for the finals.
So it's always fun and just being here.
So we'll talk more about it as the week goes on.
But that starts today.
So for Wingsday, if you're here, you can start filling them out.
Got some bowling starting today.
Well, there was one last night.
Got one last night, two today.
Yeah, actually, let's do that real quick.
Do we have a draft Kings today to do, Shannon?
If we do, we'll do it right now.
Let me look.
I don't know.
Thanks for being on top.
I mean, I sent it to you.
Well, but you should have.
Don't you look at your emails?
Well, why don't you look at yours?
You can see it just as easy as I can.
All right.
Yes, you do.
We do.
All right, so let's go ahead and do it.
Draft Kings bet five win $150 if you get it right.
And bonus bets, it's draft kings.com.
promo code is KSR.
Let's do our two bowl game picks for today.
Western Kentucky, the Hilltoppers.
They have a bowl today.
The Boka Ritone Bowl.
The Boka Ritone Bowl, they play Jets.
James Madison.
James Madison's a seven and a half point favorite.
Of course, I have no idea who's playing for these teams in these games because they may have transferred, but who do you got?
Well, of course, I'm going to go with Western at least to cover.
James Madison, they lost their coach, and half the team went to Indiana.
That's why Indiana did.
That was last year.
This is a new team.
So Western Kentucky, they played in this Bocaver-Tom Bowl before.
I'm going with the Toppers.
Way too many points.
I'm going with the Toppers also.
You can't give the Hill Topper 7-5 in Boca Raton.
I was going to pick Western Kentucky, but Billy decided to take a vacation and not have the
watch party at the bar. That signals to me no belief in the team. I will take James Madison
because Billy went on vacation this week. Situational play. And exactly right. And then the art of sport
Los Angeles Bowl. I don't know what that means. The art of sport, Los Angeles Bowl, Cal,
U and LV. Cal at one point this year, hosted game day. Remember that early in the year? And then they
finish six and six. So, uh, UNLV is the three point favorite. I'm taking UNLV. They're ranked.
A lot of people don't realize UNLV is ranked.
I'm taking UNLV.
Yeah, wasn't there?
UNLV played Boise State for that conference.
Jimmy, we were going to go to that game.
We thought about going.
Yeah, into the game, yes.
I'm going UNLV also.
Got two of their three losses for Boise.
They lost in the regular season, too.
They had a good year, so I'll go with the rebels.
All right, those are our picks tonight.
One person writes, Matt, back to the moon landing, of course.
If the moon is so easy to get to, why don't we go now?
Because we got other things to do.
It's good point.
Why do we need to go now?
What are we going to do there now?
We've already been.
Yes, we've been back.
We went like 11 times.
But we realized it cost a lot of money and people died.
So, like, there came a point that the American government was like, we don't need to keep doing this.
We've done it.
We've got all the rocks.
We've seen all the sites.
We took pictures.
And, like, people are dying on the takeoff platform.
So let's not go there anymore.
It costs billions of dollars to go for what benefit?
They don't have gas or any resources on the moon.
We already got all the rocks.
We know.
What benefit is there just to go to the moon just to make a footprint?
Yeah.
For a billion dollars.
So I think, you know, people don't like when you waste money in government,
what's a bigger waste than just sitting in three people to play golf on the moon?
Shannon, that seems like a complete way.
So we did it.
It's been done.
Now we move forward.
Yeah, I mean, I'm not one of these people that don't believe that we didn't lend on the moon.
I can even believe that.
You can even believe that.
It didn't even pass his Shannon's approval.
Yeah, I mean, Elon's on to Mars.
We're going to Mars.
Well, now, I can make a case for Mars.
because, like, I do think something about humans is the human,
there's a natural human instinct to go to what's next, right?
It's what led us to expand across the planet.
I think there's an argument to go to Mars of like, let's do it because we can.
Like, it's human.
So I could see, I don't know if that's, like, scientifically possible,
but I could see why we would do it.
He's working on it.
We need those Mars rocks.
Okay, then go do that, Elon.
Get off Twitter.
Go send us to Mars.
You're good at that.
I'm for that.
They've sent probes to Mars and found there's really no benefit that it can help us there either.
I mean...
Remember I told you this when we were driving through Utah?
So I'm reading this book.
It's about there was a fire in Canada in 2016 at a place you all may not know it exists.
I didn't know it exists called like Fort McHenry.
And like they, it's up in Alberta, Canada, and they produce like all of this kind of very, very cheap.
oil stuff there.
It's like one of the richest places in Canada because everybody there makes like $200,000
mine in oil.
It's like a blue collar place.
Long story short, they had what was the deadliest fire in the history of North America
there in 2016.
And the book is about the fire, but they talked about how there are vast parts of Canada,
vast parts of Canada where they don't believe any human being Drew has ever even walked.
I just find that fascinating.
Like, it's not that far away, but there are parts of the, like, forest where they said no human being has ever been,
and they don't know that anyone will ever go.
It's crazy to think that my brain wonders that even did on our trip.
Like, you look up or drive through these mountains, these big red rocks, it's like, I wonder if anyone's ever even set.
There's probably parts of eastern Kentucky.
There are probably parts of eastern Kentucky, like deep in the mountains, where there's a decent chance,
one's ever gone there ever because it was there was no reason to and it was deep in there i think that
don't you think that's kind of fascinating you could be on a piece of ground and go no human has ever
stepped here before that's why the stories like that fascinate me like if there's a heaven forbid
a plane crash or something they can't find the i mean that story about with the wichita state plane
crash that we talked about on the trip that blows my mind yeah there was a plane crash where
they just left all the stuff there because they can't get it out.
And it was just easier to leave it there.
And you can walk up to it if you want.
And it's essentially, except for the bodies being removed,
it's essentially in the same state it was in 1973 when it crashed.
That's amazing to me.
It's a big place and we haven't touched much of it.
I agree with you.
I think there's big parts of Kentucky deep in the mountains.
Oh, yeah.
Never been explored.
So anyway, I don't know how we got off on that.
Who's next?
to task anything Wednesday.
Andy.
Andy, go ahead.
Oh, Matt.
This is Andy.
How are you?
Mike.
I don't know if you remember me or not.
I called in and I was pretty critical.
I said that you was going to feel sorry
because he'd run off Cal.
But after watching these games,
I'm just going to call in and apologize to you.
Well, that's actually very nice of you.
So I vaguely remember this call.
You said I ran off Cal
and it was my fault and I would be sorry.
So now you're willing to say...
Well, I didn't think we're doing any good, to be honest.
Now, I still don't think I ran off Cal,
but now you agree that maybe a change was necessary?
Well, I still think you run him off,
but, you know, it's worked out because we can and one,
we beat Duke, we beat Gonzaga,
and we beat Louisville, who could complain?
I totally agree with you.
And don't you think, I was talking with one of my friends about this last night?
Let's say that Cal, let's say we had this same record with Cal, okay?
Let's just say for a sake of argument that Cal was here, we beat Duke, we beat Gonzaga, we beat Louisville.
Don't you think, Andy, if that happened, our fan base still wouldn't be as excited because we'd be like, well, we're just going to lose in March?
Well, it'd still be lingering.
But before he'd let me go, I got one more thing.
When my nephew there, I say I'm pretty old feller, so I don't get on Twitter and social media and all that.
He showed me that Yun's put me on there.
And, to be honest, it kind of made me a little mad because I went up to the senior center.
And I wouldn't know about a corner with me or anything.
So I was just going to ask if you not do that again if I called back.
Yeah, I don't know what you're talking about.
But I also can't tell if you're being real or not.
So you may be.
Oh, I'm being real.
What picture of you got put up?
Mario's TikToks of the call, I think is what he means.
Oh.
Oh, the video of the call.
But we need to.
Go ahead.
I'm sorry, what you say?
Never mind.
I appreciate the call.
I'm not sure what.
But we didn't put his picture up.
The call, though, I think is what he's referencing.
Yeah, well, if you call the show, it's going to be on the airways.
I mean, like, so if you call the show, you just need to understand that it's going to be out there.
I can't have you call the show and then keep it private.
It's going to be, you know, by its very nature.
We don't have a picture of him.
Your scenario that you said, you know, what if Cal was 10 and 1?
I agree with you that fans...
It wouldn't be the same.
We got the point where we were guarding our hearts because we kept getting heartbreak every March.
If we were 10 and 1 right now, a couple things...
It's interesting.
It's an interesting thought exercise.
If we were 10 and 1, I do think there would be fans who were like...
It doesn't matter.
We're going to choke in March.
I also think the loss at Clemson would have bothered people a lot more.
We would have been like C, we lose to all these teams like Clemson.
I mean, Clemson, let's be real about Clemson for a minute.
Lost to South Carolina last night.
Lost at home to Memphis.
Lost to Utah State.
The only team they've played that's good that they've beaten is us.
So now, I don't think it's that big a deal because we beat Duke and Gonzaga.
But I think if Cal had been the coach, we would look at that loss through differently, don't you?
That's the reason a lot of us wanted to change.
I think I said as much.
It didn't matter what he would have done in the regular season.
This year, if we had just run it back, would have completely been wait until the tournament.
It could have, outside of going undefeated, it would have been hard to get excited.
Exactly right.
It would have been, we don't care, prove it to us in the tournament.
And if we, let's say he just did hear what he did at Arkansas, where they lost to Illinois,
they lost to Baylor, they beat Michigan.
I think people, if we had his record from Arkansas this year, people would be like we stink.
Yeah.
Well, even in the games they've won, to their credit, they've had big comebacks.
But they went down early to Miami, had to come back in that one, went down big to Michigan.
It's a lot of the things that people were upset about here, even though they end up winning those games.
But this has been pure joy with Pope because it's new.
You know, there's something about being new that makes people excited to.
And like, you know, like I said, we were kind of protecting ourselves a little bit from that hurt.
I think that's gone.
I think people are like opening back up like, hey, man, that sense of superiority is back.
And let me tell you the one thing that I underestimated about our fan base that the Pope era made me realize.
I underestimated that there's a fan generation that's one or two generations older than me.
Your generation, Ryan, and maybe six or eight years older than you,
that really felt detached from the way Cal ran the program.
The one and done thing, which never really bothered me,
I actually kind of embraced it.
I do think it turned some people off.
And the whole, this is the biggest night in UK basketball history,
and they don't come for the front of the jersey.
They come for me and all this.
Drew, I think I underestimated how mad that made some people.
And when we were winning, they were willing to overlook it.
But the moment we started losing, that stuff came out.
And I don't know that I ever realized just how mad that made people.
I'm in the same boat and I embrace it too
heck I was buying Devin Booker's
son's jerseys you know I enjoy the one and don't
done culture as much as anyone but since it's been
over I've heard former
players you never really heard say that actually come
out and mention the exact Senate
the quote of the biggest night in history
that really made former players mad
people that were quiet about it before they've referenced
it a lot more now that he's gone so I think a lot of
people were keeping it in too I would go so far
as to say if you
played at Kentucky and you didn't play in the
NBA when he got out there and
said this is the biggest night in NBA history, it made them mad. I mean, those people got really
mad, and a lot of them never really changed their minds about Cal after that. We'll take a break.

podcast Point Game is about defining the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and
Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a
that we've never seen before.
And he knows.
Without Luca and Austin Reeves,
I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective
on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything
he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by,
like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that,
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court, licking his fingers
why he got the ball.
Like, after you go through a training camp with that, ISA,
you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court,
and you're going to get the ball.

We're two men who were completely clueless to reality TV,
who now have covered dancing,
with the stars, traitors, and we're gearing up for the season finale of Survivor.
So yeah, now we're experts.
I know we annoyed a lot of our listeners by our severe lack of survivor knowledge.
That is the point of the show.
I'm just going to remind you.
I have watched some Survivor.
I obviously haven't watched enough.
Did people not like it?
Yeah.
Just because we?
Yeah.
We'll be recapping the big conclusion in the 50th season from the final attempts at gameplay
to the desperate pleas of finalists to a bunch of.
Ha, ooh, ha, ha, ooh.
Again, we are experts.

This is Clivert Taylor the Fourth.
And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me, he goes, hey, ref, my mom,

Quarterback on office blue of 42.

What?
Where's she at?
Hey, Ms. Parker.
Listen to the Clifford show on the Iheart radio app,

Your back, it is Kentucky Sports Radio.
Hey, court physical therapy.
You got 10, 15 days left to get through your deductible this year.
If you've already done it,

It's court.com.
K-O-R-T.com.
Experience the best in rehab with court.com.
That's K-O-R-T.com.
By the way, power of advertising.
In Louisville, this store started advertising with us called Taylor Lee.
Do you know about Taylor Lee?
No.
It's like this store they sell like, they basically sell like luxury items for women,
but like for men who don't know what to get for Christmas,
you can buy it for the women.
They just started with us.
and like in the first day, they said just sales went away.
Wow, nice.
It works.
Advertising on this show works.
It does, and that's what you want to hear.
All right, so somebody, it's asked anything Wednesday.
One person writes, Matt, I hate to ask this because I love Ryan.
I think you pick on him too much.
But you all were talking about how he coughed and hacked the lung up in the red state ad.
I hear a cornbread hemp ad where I think he does it again and maybe even worse.
Oh, there's people already shaking their head.
Let's hear it.
People don't hear all you know about it.
All right.
So I haven't heard this yet.
I haven't either.
I'm amazing how many heads are not.
There's a lot of heads.
So, Shannon, you have it.
Yeah.
So first of all, two seconds in, you can hear breathing.
And then about 15, 20 seconds later, you hear somebody go,
so you heavy breathe and then you hack alone.
Everybody assumes it's me.
Well, you're the only person here during it.
It sounds like you're breathing, too.
All right, let's go.
Because first of all, you do heavy breathe.
I'm a heavy breathing.
I've learned over the years that when you're listening, you hear somebody go,
that's always here.
Not always, but sometimes.
It's always you.
All right, here we go.
Cormbreadthimp.com, select it.
It's America's number one organic hemp brand,
and you can shop over the holidays, relax, get better sleep at night.
I use it.
I love it.
You can, too.
If you need to recover from workouts, injuries, or live a stress-free life,
they have great flavors.
It comes the other one.
that's merry and bright with corn bread hit give it to your family that's a loud one
that's a loud one you just cough in the middle of it I I don't wear the headsets
when you cut these spots as you do you don't so that means you cough so loud it goes
through the head that could be possible here it's here it is one more time or bread
hit give it to your phone that's loud these people are paying good money and you're just
every bodily function you can do.
I'm going to fart during the next time.
No, you're not going to fart for court physical therapy.
You just can't do that.
I actually think that we're going to get to a point where clients are going to get upset if they don't have Brian ad-lips.
They're going to start requesting them.
Yes.
One person writes, Matt, a guy called the Mark Pope Show and asked about alternate uniforms.
Kentucky wears one uniform that's not the denim, because that's what we would all pick.
Yes.
What uniform would you want?
I like the uniform that we wore in 2015 that we've stopped wearing, just that white and blue.
It's very basic, but I think it looks really, really good, and we don't wear it anymore.
Go look at the pictures of the 2014-2015 home uniforms.
I think those look awesome.
I'd like to see those brought back.
I think those should be our regular uniforms, to be honest.
And then for a special game, icicles.
Give me the icicles from 95.
I want the icicles.
It took both of my immediate answers, so I got to think about more.
I love the icicles.
I had the Tony Delk icicle jersey with the shorts to match.
I wore it everywhere.
And then the ones you're talking about that the Harrisons in that team wore,
it was just really crisp.
They were very crisp clean.
The font was just kind of, it's that subtle Kentucky font.
Wasn't a lot to it, but it looked great.
And it was also a great two-year run, right?
14-15, kind of celebrate that.
This is the 10-year anniversary.
Yes, it is.
Of the 14 and 15 team, be nice to pull it out for a game because I think those are maybe our best-looking uniforms we've had.
We also wore something like that in, like, 03 with Bogan's and Fitch.
They had that kind of uniform, too.
I'd like that.
What about you?
I love that look.
You guys have taken the best ones.
I'm not against wearing black once one time.
We never win, though.
When we wear black, we never win.
When we wear black, we never win.
The one thing I don't like is that the silver.
I didn't love the silver either.
They wore them against Michigan State.
They only wore them one time.
2012, they wore them against Tennessee, I think.
Really?
I didn't remember that.
I think there was a Gilchrist version that was for sale.
I kind of like the silver for one thing.
But the icicles, do you think we'll ever have an icicle game?
I think the fact that Mark Pope is a coach, we will have an ice-sigle game.
I'm going to tell you, when that guy comes here and he sells retro stuff on the thing,
the icicle stuff goes immediately.
Yep.
Like the icicle stuff, I don't know how he gets the stuff, but when he does, people love the
You want to bring back the Billy Gillespie years where these shorts actually touched the ground?
Dude, I watched the video of Jody Meeks playing.
I can't believe how long the shorts were.
Jody Meeks was wearing him to his calves.
They were in the cab.
They were in the cab.
They were pants.
Even the John Wall team is like that.
If you go look, the John Wall DeMarcus cousins team.
There was a carryover to the Cal area.
I remember they did a big unveiling of the new uniforms with Billy.
They had mannequins as a big show, and the shorts were so long,
and they went a little bit longer into the Calera.
It was unbelievable.
And then, like, it switches with, like, even the Jorts team.
And then Anthony Davis kind of pulls them up a little bit, and it's different.
Who's up next?
Let's go to Ryan.
Ryan, go ahead, Ryan.
Hey, Matt.
Hey, guys.
This is Brian, actually, and I'm a first-time caller, long-time listener.
Who are?
What's up?
And actually, my wife and I really,
turn into you guys through the COVID
year. So basically every day when we were
renovated. Third jump, yeah.
Well, thank you. We, yeah,
we tuned into KSR.
So anyway, and I'm really
surprised. First time
dialing, I got through it really
surprising. I was going to give it twice and I was going to
let it go, but that didn't it. So anyway,
hey, first thing,
a movie,
a Christmas movie that is underrated.
Do you got any of you guys like
the movie Screamed? I love
Scrooge. Yeah, it's a little bit of a different generation, but I love Bill Murray, and Scrooge is very good. That's a good call.
All right, and I've got just a couple of random points. I'm Brian made over, so just so you know who you're talking to here.
And so the second point I'd like to make, what if we paid stoops a million dollars for each win that he got each year?
I mean, in theory, and I appreciate the call, but why would he do that? Okay, so he already makes $9 million.
He's already agreed to a contract of $9 million.
Why would he agree to only be paid a million dollars a win?
Like, he would have to have his best season of all time
just to get the money he's already been promised.
So, you know, I mean, I know I say this a lot,
but contracts are all about leverage,
and Kentucky didn't have the leverage the last time,
and thus we end up with the contract that we had.
I wouldn't do that.
I wouldn't give up that money that's already been promised to me and written in my contract.
You already said you wouldn't give up a million dollars for NIL.
Yeah, that's a lot.
I got bills to pay.
But what's interesting is you say that, though, and if I said to you, Ryan,
I need you to take a 10% pay cut for the good of the show.
I think you would do it.
I would do it.
So, I mean, isn't that what he's doing if he did that?
He'd take like a 10% pay cut for the good of the program?
Well, that was my argument yesterday.
I think he would do it because he's investing in himself and in the program.
Try to get better players, win more games.
I'll get that back in my next contract.
It has become a legal way for coaches to help their rosters on their own.
I'm sure there's been times in the past where guys have given money out of their own pocket illegally.
Now they've given you an actual avenue where if you were really wanting to help out your team.
And I also think it means, and I don't think he would do it again because I think he learned his lesson,
but he can't say pony up again because people go, well, why don't you?
Yeah, good point.
Because you used to have the excuse of it's banned,
and now you don't have that excuse anymore, Drew.
Like, now it is what it is.
Maybe he could put out a dollar match program.
No, I mean, somebody did that.
One of those coaches, I can't remember who it was.
There was a coach who just did a dollar match program up to a million bucks.
Really?
So.
Not a bad idea.
Not the worst idea in the world.
You know, probably do something for goodwill, honestly.
We'll take a break.
Be right back.
KSR.
Welcome back.
It is Kentucky Sports Radio.

Wings Day here, Dollar Wings all day.
The rain stinks, but otherwise things are good.
Supreme Court has just announced that they're going to take up the TikTok case.
You know, TikTok right now either has to sell or is banned in America on January 19th.
The Supreme Court's going to hear their legal claim.
Somebody writes, Matt, do you think TikTok?
talks wins in the Supreme Court.
I don't know.
Like, I need to see what their argument is because we ban businesses all the time in America
that are owned by foreign countries that, like, we, you know, Russian businesses right now
and North Korean businesses.
And we can, so I don't know what their argument is exactly.
So I would need to read it.
They say they have a First Amendment argument, but I don't know what that argument is
if it's a Chinese company.
Chinese company, I don't know that they have First Amendment rights in America.
So I need to see their argument.
But it's interesting.
It was bipartisan to ban it or make them sale, make them fail.
It was a bipartisan.
Both parties were for it.
And then it seems like some people have changed.
So I don't know.
I mean, my view is I like TikTok, but the reality is we are giving all, all, all
of our personal information to China on a platter.
And that can't be good.
So I don't really, I have mixed emotions.
I like Ticcock.
I like the videos.
We now have 18,000 followers.
I don't want to just lose it.
But I also don't know if maybe our biggest adversary of the 21st century coming up
needs to have all of our personal information.
So I don't really know, Drew.
I have mixed emotions.
First of all, good job, Mario.
It's a good following.
Yeah, we have.
is built quite a following.
So much information.
I mean, even, I don't know what you do with it, but just the facial recognition stuff,
all those filters, you're just giving them all that.
I don't know how that works.
That's above my brain.
But they have everything they need to know about you on TikTok.
You're buying something on there.
You're agreeing to, they got the TikTok shop now.
It does worry me.
I mean, I, you know, China's going to be battling for world supremacy with America for the next 75 years.
and if they know something about every citizen in this country that has TikTok,
I mean, when the government said you cannot use a government phone,
you cannot have it on TikTok, that should worry people a little bit, right?
I didn't know that, but just hearing you say that worries me a little bit.
So, I don't know.
Think about the history books just centuries from now.
They were watching videos of what?
Yeah.
They surrender by watching people fall down.
We always live in the moment, but let's wait.
Think about a history book in 75 years, or it'll be like a history brain insert.
When it says, why did America lose its supremacy in the world to China?
Because they did dances on TikTok and ended up giving that.
That would be kind of a sad way to see the American dynasty fall.
They couldn't stop turning their faces into puppies.
They didn't make facial expressions.
So, yeah, so I don't know.
I think it's actually a very complicated issue.
Who's next?
David.
David, go ahead, David.
Oh, Merry Christmas.
Oh, my goodness.
David, why did you scream?
That was very loud.
Sorry.
Yeah, that was a little loud, okay, because you heard our ears.
But Merry Christmas to you as well.
Thank you.
I want to say, first of all, happy anniversary to Patrick Sparks.
today is the 20th anniversary of him shooting those free throws against Louisville.
I didn't know that.
Did you know this is the 20th anniversary of the Sparks, free throws?
I didn't either.
It was so good to see him back at Rupp.
He's been playing overseas.
He doesn't get to come.
He was there.
Did the Y, got to meet with some fans.
He's in the video.
Am I correct that he was banned, kicked off his Russian team for wearing flip-flops?
Was that him?
I don't know.
I love that story.
If it's true.
I think this could be wrong.
But I think he played for a Russian basketball.
ball team.
Look this up.
And I think he got kicked off because he wore flip-flops on a plane.
Really?
That may be, if that's not true, then that's the biggest made-up story in my mind,
because I've accepted it as true for 10 years.
But I don't know.
But go ahead.
I have a question to ask anything today.
Okay.
If this Kentucky basketball team was a movie, what would it be?
Well, I mean, we got to know what the ending is, right?
Like, before we can know what the movie for this basketball team would be,
we need to see, do we win a national championship?
Do we lose in the first round?
Like, they'd be different movies based on the ending.
Right, but so far it looks like I can't think of one right now.
Okay, well, you know what, David?
I'll be thinking about it as the season goes on, okay?
Okay, Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas to you too, Dave.
It does have the makings of a Disney movie if they end up winning a national title.
Without question. Pope comes back.
You bring in these, you know, Island of Misfit toys and you put them all together.
It would definitely be one.
Disney or a Hallmark movie for the...
Okay, stop.
You got to stop with the marks.
You got to stop with the marks.
The mark of redemption.
Was that right about that?
You know, I'm not saying you're wrong.
Google doesn't have a...
lot to back you up. I'm not really fine than anything about it. But Google doesn't have everything.
I completely agree. So I'm not telling you you're wrong. Shannon, there's a lot of stuff that's not
on Google, right? Like about the moon landing and stuff in your mind that you know that's more.
directions to walk to the pickle fest. Was that not right? I'm still efforting. If it's not right,
then that would be an amazing made up in my head if it came from nowhere. Now he has played in Russia.
Okay, so he's played in Russia. Okay. Now, I haven't seen anything about getting kicked off from where in football.
So first of all, I think there's some truth to it because why would I just pick out that he's played in Russia of all countries?
Yeah.
And I'm going to assume he owns flip-flopped and has been on a plane.
Look at that.
That's three.
Now we just have to put them all together.
Who's next, Shadden?
Matthew.
Matthew.
Go ahead, Matthew.
I have a question for asking a day.
Ask anything Wednesday.
With Luigi being charged with terrorism, does that mean the government cares more about,
rich people getting murdered, then poor people getting murdered because poor people are going to
charge with terrorism.
Who charged him to terror?
I saw him charged with murder, but I did not see a charge of terrorism.
Was it, was that true?
Yes, there were 11 counts.
Okay, so I'm not saying he should be charged with terrorism that might actually get,
get, you know, taken off.
But the reasoning would be if you kill some, if I kill you because you were sleeping with my wife, that's a personal thing.
But if I kill you for a political cause, there are some definitions in some of these statutes of terrorism that might include that.
Now, my guess is that will end up getting taken out.
I don't know that.
But that's the difference.
It's not rich or poor.
it's what was the reason why you killed them?
And if you're killing them for a political cause, that's different.
So like think about on 9-11, that was for a political cause.
That's why we use the phrase terrorism, whereas like a personal, I just don't like you, that's different.
But if he had medical history with them, would that not be a personal reason?
But if he has a manifesto, which I think he did, that said, I'm doing,
this because of these companies and what they do to us and blah, blah, blah, that might be how
the prosecutors would switch it over. Again, I don't know, but that's just my guess.
Okay, thank you. Thank you. And again, I don't know enough about it to know. That's just a guess,
right? Was he finally extradited to New York? He got charged in New York, so I would assume that I mean
he was extradited. But, you know, that's another example of what we were talking about.
Everyone has completely moved on from Luigi already. Like, it was the most, it was the biggest
story in the world and now we haven't said another word about it and this is the first I've heard of it in a week
personally I've moved on to Patrick Sparks getting kicked off playing flip-flop so I'm going to
exhaust all efforts this afternoon to find if there's any truth in that somebody if that
happened someone listening to this show knows somebody knows the answer were they like slides or
I don't know the form of flip-flop I don't know if it was a tough I didn't know if it had the toll
thing or if it was a thong or not or if it was a eulenberg guy so I don't know probably no
thong for Muellerburg guy.
Yeah.

And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defining the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen
before. And he knows. Without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has
to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends
stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing. That man, hell of you.

Ask Anything Wednesday.
a couple questions coming in.
We still haven't found.
I must be wrong about the flip.
I had Russia.
I had Patrick Sparks,
but I can't find anything about a flip-flop.
Could have been a crock.
Could have been a crock,
but nobody seems to have agreed.
I do have a question for you when asking anything Wednesday.
Yeah.
Whatever happened to that town in South Carolina,
the Silicon,
Silicon was hidden in the mountains.
Talking about North Carolina.
North Carolina.
Still an issue.
Still an issue.
They,
I guess
The short answers, people don't know.
They think that, you're talking about the floods.
Yeah.
They think that it survived the floods,
but they still won't know until they mine the product.
And I don't know enough about the details,
but they feel better about it than they did before,
where all the world Silicon comes from.
Yes.
Yeah.
You kind of scared me when you talk about the story the first time.
There have been a few stories about it, even since then.
You can read some of them.
Along those lines, since we're doing education, one person writes, Matt, how does the Supreme Court decide which cases to hear?
That's a good question.
So, like, if somebody were to appeal to the Supreme Court, for instance, our referee friend appealed to the Supreme Court, I believe.
Friend.
Acquaintance.
The Supreme Court meets all nine people.
If four of them, so they don't need a majority, they just need four.
If four of them vote to hear it, then they hear it.
So it takes four of the nine to vote to hear it.
So when you see the Supreme Court takes a case, it's because four of the nine have picked.
But they have to vote on every single case that gets something?
They do, and they turn down 95% of them.
So they tend to only pick cases.
I think their standards of are national importance,
or if the law is different in different parts of the country
and they're trying to unify it so the law is the same everywhere.
So they only end up taking like 50 cases a year.
Four of nine seems odd.
Well, the reason is I think it used to be five of nine
and then people would read into the fact that a majority took it
to feel like they already knew what the result would be.
So they took it down to four of nine.
They want the minority to be able to still have their cases hurt.
Very interesting.
I think that's the theory.
Who's up next?
Elijah.
Elijah, go ahead, Elijah.
I got two quick questions.
After watching the SEC just destroy everybody so far this year,
what do you put our over-under on SEC losses?
Great question.
And who gives Mark Pope his first loss in refereeing?
Great questions on both those.
Let's start with that.
So the SEC went 8-0 last night, including a win.
Florida beats North Carolina,
and then South Carolina wins against Clemson.
The SEC now has more ranked non-conference wins than any conference in history by six.
Wow.
So it's an unbelievable amount.
In the last Bracketology, 13 SEC teams projected into the NCAA tournament,
which would be a record by two over anyone else.
So over under Kentucky SEC losses, if I were to set it at,
six.
What are you putting it at?
It's funny you say that.
This morning I was looking at Kenpom
where he projects the score of every game
on the schedule that's still ahead.
He has him with six losses.
I was sitting there thinking, don't say six.
Don't they say six.
I'll go under six.
So you would put five?
I found it interesting looking because he has the exact score
for every game.
Arkansas is Kentucky's third biggest blowout,
I guess third easiest game.
He has, according to the metrics on there.
Now that's not perfect.
but it's interesting to see that.
To me, six is the number because I think they're going to go 12 and 6.
I think that's going to be their record.
If you make me pick one, I'll take under because I want to be positive.
But I think they go 12 and 6.
I think every road game is going to be hard.
And I think they probably drop one home game this year in the SEC.
and if I had to guess I'm going to say Tennessee
because I think Tennessee is going to be a very hard matchup for us
because they are so physical
and they play the style that we don't like.
So I would say if you ask me who my first home loss would be,
I'd say Tennessee and I would put it at 12 and 6.
Yeah, I agree with that.
You know, Western Kentucky played that way,
and we had problems with Western Kentucky.
Tennessee's going to play that way and some.
Louisville played that way.
Louisville played that way.
Absolutely.
I would probably go under,
but like you said, this is a year.
where, you know, South Carolina just beat Clemson, a Clemson team to beat us.
Missouri just beat Kansas.
These are the bottom tier SEC teams that are having these major wins.
There's going to be some losses on the road this year.
Let me quickly go through here.
Let's do win or loss.
Just say win or loss.
Shannon, you're in, too.
Florida undefeat.
We opened the SEC.
Florida undefeated at home against Kentucky at home against Florida.
Before you made this game, I was going to say we got to be careful.
First one on the schedule.
Florida is killing teams right now.
I'm going to say we win that win, but Florida is very good, and they're not talked about enough.
I'm going to say win.
I'm going to say win, but not my much.
Shannon.
Loss.
Loss.
You think we're going to lose the first SEC game.
That's an early game.
That's an 11 o'clock game.
It's 11 a.m.
Yeah.
That's 11.
All right.
Kentucky at Georgia.
Win.
Win.
Win.
Win.
Win.
At Mississippi State.
Win.
Win.
Surprising loss for me.
I'll go lost.
830 at night, Saturday night.
They're going to be going.
crazy. I'll take that as our first loss. A&M at home.
Win. Win. When? Alabama at home. Loss.
I'm going to say when. I think we get that one. I'll say win. I'm going to say loss.
So that's your first home loss. Yep. All right. At Vandy. Loss. No, that's win.
Win. Win. Win. At Tennessee. Loss. Loss. Loss. Arkansas at home.
Win. Win. Win. At Old Miss. That's the loss I'm saying. I'm going loss. That's a Tuesday,
night at in Oxford they ranked 17th I'm saying loss I'll go win I can't have them losing both
mississippi games south carolina home win when when Tennessee home loss I'm going to take a loss
that's my fourth loss I got to go win you're going to go win at Texas loss when I'm going to say
win I'm going to say we go up there and we show Austin a thing or two and we get a win what do you
think? I'll go win. Gosh, this schedule's so hard, though.
Yeah. None of these you feel great. Fandy at home. Win. When? At Alabama.
Lost. I forgot about that one. There's five. That's my sixth loss. I'm going to say loss.
At Oklahoma, that's going to be my sixth loss. It's at Oklahoma. We're going to go
lose back to back there. What do you got? I'll say win. All right. Then Auburn at home.
Lost. Win. We're winning that. That's going to be.
be a wild atmosphere. That's going to be the last Saturday home game of the year. This place is going to be
rocking. There's going to be naked people like it's going to be. There's going to be, I'm not saying
two. They're just going to be naked people. They're going to be excited. I'm going to go, I'm going to go win.
That's the last home game. It's not senior day. Senior Day. Senior Day is the next game, but last Saturday
home. Okay. You talk me into a win, but I hope the naked people sit down. They don't even
good point. LSU at home on senior night. That's a win. That's a win.
At Missouri last game of the year.
I'm going to say win.
So that's my six.
I have them with seven losses.
You now have them with seven.
I'll admit I picked two wins at Texas and at Ole Miss that I might have been lying a little bit internally.
So then how many losses do you have?
You picked five losses.
Yeah, I have five.
But I mean, all those road games are going to be very difficult to win.
It's going to be a battle.
That's a hard, hard schedule.
Very hard.
Hard schedule.
Clayton and Kroom, though, is easy.
It makes your Christmas shopping easy.

an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind.
And nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where Sports Slice comes in.
I'm Timbo.
And every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments in sports
and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves.
Their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment,
and the stuff nobody gets to hear.

And on my podcast, The Cliverts show,
I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker walks up to me, he goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue 42.

It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano.
It's our favorite time of the year on our podcast point game, the playoffs.
We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season.
And I'm looking back on some of my greatest playoff moments.
If we didn't talk ever again, I was funny.
You just understood.
That's how personal it got.
Wow.
Then after that game seven, Marquis come until he's like, you know I love you, dog.
You know, it's all love.
This was just playoffs.
This was just basketball.

at the hips since high school.
Absolutely.
A redacted amount of years later,
we're still joined at the hip.
Just a little bit bigger hips.
This is a podcast.
We're recording it as we tailgate
our youth soccer games
in the back of my Honda Odyssey.
With all the snacks and drinks.
Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer?
They hit a bogo.
Well, then you got them.
