Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Will Ferrell's Big Money Players and IHeart Podcasts presents soccer moms.
So I'm Leanne.
Yeah.
This is my best friend, Janet.
Hey.
And we have been joined at the hips since high school.
Absolutely.
A redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip.
Just a little bit bigger hips.
This is a podcast.
We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey.
With all the snacks and drinks.
Why did you get hard seltzer instead of?
beer. Well, then you got it. Listen to soccer moms on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, and on my new podcast, How Hard Can It Be? I call on my Gen X squad from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate Midlife's most fantastic BS. Unfiltered conversations from night sweats to futas to scheduling sex. Wait, what sex?
Is it just me or does every woman my age want to look at Pinterest instead of having sex sometimes?
They say we can't polish a turn, but we're sure going to try.
So let's get blunt with laughs, tears, or tears of laughter.
Listen to How Hard Can It Be with Deanna Maria Riva on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano.
It's our favorite time of the year on our podcast point game, the playoffs.
We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season.
And I'm looking back on some of my greatest playoff moments.
If we didn't talk ever again, I was crying.
You just understood.
That's how personal it got.
Wow.
Then after that game seven, Markeep coming to him.
He's like, you know, I love you, dog.
You know, it's all love.
This was just playoffs.
This was just basketball.

Welcome, everyone.
This is Kentucky Sports Radio here live from Cold Carney, Nebraska,
right off the side of the interstate at the Candlewood Suites,
where the people are so nice to let us be here.
Thank you very much.
We are in the lobby and excited to be with you.
You can give a shout of the Clark's Pubbit Shop phone line 859-280-2287.
A-Vision auto-glass text machine is 772-7-7-4-25-4 in this edition, sponsored by the T.J. Smith
Law Office.
We call T.J. He'll make them pay.
Kearney, Nebraska, in the middle to western part of Nebraska, it is cold, but a surprisingly,
Ryan, kind of good place, at least this old part off the interstate.
We had a good time last night.
We went to dinner at Max's choice of a restaurant.
We had margaritas at the family and tradition margarita place,
and now, and Mario had six shots of fireball,
and now we are here ready to go this morning.
So far, Carney has not disappointed, but, man, I'm so excited
because I have one of my favorite fun facts ever for Carney Nebraska.
Uh-oh, I'm already.
Did you notice how he set up on the couch?
He did.
And that usually means it's not a good one, so go ahead.
What is it?
Do it here in the first segment, or can we just tease it for the whole show?
We'll hang on a second.
We're in Cardi, Nebraska.
This is the Sand Hill Crane Capital of the World.
Apparently, all the Sand Hill cranes will come here and, like, hang out and, you know,
have a social event when they're going south for the winter,
and then they come back when they're going north,
and they kind of hang out here.
Maybe at the Candlewood Suites, but they're not here right now, but people here like the cranes.
Yeah, most people come through here to see the cranes.
We're a little early, maybe late, regardless.
It seems they may have left a smell around town.
I will say this.
We love Carney.
I'm not trying to be rude, Shannon, because you know I like Carney.
Yeah.
It does smell like horse poop, the whole town.
And I don't say, am I right?
He said it.
So you're saying it, though.
You're saying Carney Nebraska smells like crap.
That's what you just said.
He just said that.
I mean, they'll be nice to us.
And you come in here and say they smell like crap.
I'm not trying to be, I'm not being rude because the people here have been nice.
The food was good.
Really good.
Yeah.
The chairs at the Mexican place were great.
Good.
Yeah, chairs were good.
Mario ate two dinners left.
Mario ate dinner twice at the same restaurant.
He's a growing boy.
He is.
I wish we had his metabolism.
But it does smell like horse poop here.
Yeah.
Well, it happens.
You know, I mean, it doesn't Kentucky, too.
I didn't know anything about the state of Nebraska except for the movie Nebraska.
Which is a great movie.
Which is in black and white.
And I thought that when we crossed the border, everything would be in black and white.
And it kind of was.
It was windmills and open land and a lot like Kansas, actually.
Here we are, Max.
How are you enjoying?
yet another state on your list. I'm enjoying it. The more you travel around, though, the more things
stay the same. I walk down from a hotel room this morning, you know, wiping my eyes, ready to
grab my coffee. And what do I know? Things stay the same. Matt's down here watching Fox News.
I was just staring at Fox News watching it, laughing it all up. I tried to get that off my television
as quickly as possible. He got a call, continue to stand back, stand by. He goes, got all the usual
things. Well, good. Well, we have, thank you. We have four folks who've made the trip. I think there
maybe a few more coming in a little bit, all of whom drove from Omaha to be here.
Isn't that?
It's very nice, including one, a young man who you apparently sent a cameo to.
I love this story.
You sent a cameo to him a couple years ago for his birthday, and the first 15 seconds
were you tried to figure out how to use your phone.
Yeah, I remember this one for a little young Braden.
I was in a bad Wi-Fi area, and my screen froze, but apparently it was still rolling.
And you sent him 15-7.
seconds of you licking your teeth with your tongue.
I'm trying to, yeah, figure out why is this froze here?
You realize you don't have to send that, right?
Like, you can send it to drafts, maybe try it again.
I don't know why it's sent.
I think it was all part of the Wi-Fi issue.
That's part of the Ryan Camiel experience.
You never know what you're going to get.
You never know what you're going to get.
You don't know what you're going to get.
And it could be him grossly licking his tongue.
All right, so now give us your fact about Carning Nebraska.
Carning Nebraska is the exact center of the United States between the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific
Ocean. It's Carnie, Nebraska.
Wow. You're saying this is the exact center of the United States right here.
Between the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean.
So the continental United States.
Yeah, this is the, this is considered the exact.
Where'd you hear that? Google. Wikipedia.
So we're like right in the middle of America. So when they talk about middle America,
they're talking about here. There may be somewhere they say the middle.
Right now he's already like he's already taking that.
I'm going to do research. That's why I talk. Somebody's probably staying there in the
middle of United States. This is the,
exact midpoint between the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean right here.
Okay.
What part of the Atlantic Ocean?
I guess probably the shore on the...
But there's shore all up and down the Atlantic Ocean?
It could be probably the closest in.
Could be.
And the closest end in the Pacific Ocean, the closest in...
A lot of facts you look and it says, Shannon, could be.
I don't believe any of it.
Even if it were true, I'm not that impressed.
I mean...
I was blown away.
You were blown away.
I'm glad we didn't tease that any longer.
It would have been a big letdown to do.
Yeah, you should have let.
You shouldn't have given me five extra minutes.
You said it was your most excited fact you'd ever had.
And that's what you're coming up with.
Yeah, that fun fact, I think, is really, really a lot of time.
Well, as we said also yesterday, it's the corporate headquarters of the buckle.
Do you ever shopped at the buckle?
Haven't shopped at the buckle yet.
I would love to, but haven't shopped at the buff.
I think I've got one pair of jeans.
You know the skinny jeans that you always make fun of me for wearing?
I think they came from the buckle.
Those are like size 28.
Those are the skinniest jeans I've ever seen.
They make my butt look great, though.
They wear it when you sing, right?
Yeah.
The internet doesn't seem to be on the same page as well.
What does he?
Generally, I go with the internet.
What is it saying?
Google.
So I've typed Carney, Nebraska, then lots of keywords, center, middle of America, middle of the oceans, center point.
None of those things have triggered any result that would suggest this.
Did you, right, let me see where you got it.
First of all, you, this is, you just went to cityof Kearney.org or car.
Okay, we believe that.
In 1964, Carney was linked with Interstate 8, which created a book.
Why are you showing me this?
This just says it has motels and restaurants.
Keep reading Young Master.
A striking feature about Carney is it's located halfway between the Atlanta and Pacific Ocean.
Tadda!
That's what you got out of that, huh?
Yeah.
All right.
Well, we'll see if the challenge flag is thrown, but it's still been nice here.
A couple of things.
First of all, Kentucky and Clemson play tonight.
That game is late.
It's at 930 Eastern tonight.
It's going to be a lot.
late game. If you are in Kentucky, you can come watch it at the bar. We're going to be up
open late for it. But we are going to be watching the game in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Now, Drew, as part of this trip, because, you know, Ryan always likes to go. We eat with Matt Wednesday,
we drink with Matt Wednesday, we pee, and Matt. Like, he always likes to say that. So I've been
trying to spread it out. I'm giving everybody a chance to pick the restaurants. You picked
two nights ago. You did well. Last night, Max picked Cunningham's on the river, which was very
Good. Shannon is picking lunch today in North Platte, Nebraska. Tell everybody where you picked.
Penny's Diner. Can I read you a quick review? This is Penny's Diner where we're eating lunch.
One out of five stars. Air vents are visibly caked with dirt and dust, so who knows how much is falling into your food or what you're breathing.
We wait at 45 minutes for dry, overcooked cheeseburgers served by a waitress with a chronic cough.
That is my kind of place right there. I want to go right now.
If we're not doing the pregame show tonight, you know what happened?
What?
We just got some really bad things there.
We got the chronic cough.
So here's the update.
So we're going to eat in North Platte.
Then we're staying in beautiful Windsor, Colorado.
I got our first Airbnb of the trip.
It has a hot tub.
It has smores.
It has a fire pit.
That's where we're going to do the pregame show.
That's also probably where we're going to do the morning show tomorrow.
So for those of you wondering where to come see us in Windsor, Colorado,
or tomorrow morning, it will be Winner,
Windsor, Colorado. So if you're in Windsor, write me, I'll send you the address so you know where you're going.
Tonight, however—
It has six bedrooms? It has four bedrooms, but one bedroom has five beds.
Don't worry. I'll have the review on my—
Wait, what? One bedroom has five?
There's a child's beds.
There's a California king bed.
Dips.
I got that one.
There's a king bed. There is a queen bed.
And then there's a room that has two doubles, a twin, and a trundle bed.
And I don't know what a trundle bed is.
They said it pulls out like a drawer.
It slides out like a drawer.
I'll put Mario in my drawer.
Okay, so three of you will get to be in one room.
Like a morgue.
Slot them out, slot them by good.
But there are six beds.
It's just three of you are in the same room.
That's fine by me as long as we know with Ryan.
Apparently Mario has struggled with boss night.
Oh, I didn't hear about that.
Mario, did you struggle to sleep?
Here, get on here for a second.
I want to hear your description of Ryan.
snoring.
This is the first time you've had to stay with Ryan.
What does him, his snoring sound like?
You want me to give you an example?
Yeah, I got you.
It's kind of like all night long.
Did you?
Okay, you don't look happy.
That's really happy.
Did you?
It was 5 a.m.
I woke up and the TV, usually I put the TV on to kind of drown out the noise,
but it kept turning off.
So I would wake up every hour or so, and I just hear him snoring.
Do one more impression.
So did you at any point try to rustle him or wake him up?
No, I didn't because I was just like he's sleeping already.
He just let him have his dream sleep.
Oh, that was very nice.
At least you woke up.
That would imply you fell asleep at some point.
So did you get any sleep?
A little bit.
Yeah, a little bit.
Well, we won't put you with him every night.
Tonight we'll give him the trundle bed himself and it'll be all right.
Well, I'm glad you got through it.
That's part of the trip.
We've all done it.
It's part of the charm.
I like that he let Ryan dream.
Let Ryan chase cars in his sleep there while Mario had to put up with it.
No noise canceling headphones, nothing?
Nothing.
Well, it is tough.
I have a lot of people that write me asking if you would maybe,
you might want to get it looked at.
Have you thought about it?
I did.
Remember I went through the whole sleep test process?
Did they give you one of the machines?
They had me test it with one of those machines.
Like, I'm not a candidate.
Like, I'm almost there.
You're not a candidate. Who is?
What do you mean you're not a candidate?
You snore more than anyone I've ever known.
How are you not a candidate?
I think they say mine's all allergy-related.
Not a candidate.
I do not believe that you're not.
Not a candidate.
You should be president of the Sleepabana club.
Not a candidate.
It's apparently like, I mean, people say it's a little dangerous.
Aren't you concerned about it?
I was until I got it tested and I got it tested and I
Came back okay.
So you did not come back okay.
You're not okay.
You snore like a wildebeest.
I think I should sleep with you tonight.
There you go.
No, there will be no nights with me.
Now, I'm going to spread it.
Like, I'm willing to give you the single bed, not for you, but for the rest of humanity.
But I slept with him one time, Max, and the middle of the night, he's right over the top of me.
Clap his hand.
And then jump back.
He jumped back in bed real fast.
I would hit him with a pillow.
Because if you hit him, he'll try to beat him back to sleep.
The thing is, he'll stop for like a minute.
And then you jump at bed and like, please fall asleep, please fall asleep.
It's the worst.
It is the worst because, again, it's not even consistent, right, Mario?
It's like, it's not consistent.
It's not like a-
It's not a rhythm.
There's no rhythm.
Listen, I know there are people listening here who work in the CPAP area.
Yeah.
I refuse to believe you're not a.
candidate. I can't imagine who would be a candidate besides you. Like for instance, last night,
I was in the same room as Shannon. He started a little bit. And I noticed I did my,
you didn't tell me this. No, I didn't go above you. I just did it in the thing. And you flipped
over and then you didn't snore again. You start snoring before I even finished the clap.
Yeah, for sure. Maybe, you know, it has been several years since I got the original test. Maybe
things have changed 10 years later.
Yeah, maybe.
Maybe in 10 years.
You think you've gotten healthier, huh?
The perfect picture of bad health.
859-28027.
We are going to take your calls today.
We did not yesterday.
If you want to weigh in on the stoop situation,
we're going to talk a lot about Kentucky and Clemson today.
They play tonight.
Big game for me to see kind of can Kentucky continue their momentum,
beat the teams they should, but in a road environment.
We are on the road in Carning, Nebraska.
We're at the Candlewood Suites.
If you want to come by and say hello, we'll take a break.
Be right back.

American soccer is about to explode.
The World Cup is coming.
Ramos sending on to Ernie.
Score the chip.
I'm Tad Ramos.
I'm Tom Boe.
On our podcast, inside American soccer, you'll get the real storylines.
I'm not worried about Policic.
I'm not worried about Balagan.
I'm not worried about McKinney.
My only concern is what happens in the back.
The biggest decisions.
You're going to look at stats and numbers.
He has no shot at making this World Cup team.
And the truth about the U.S. national team.
It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals
or potentially a great run into the semifinals.
The World Cup is almost here.
Experience it all with us.

Like LeBron Head and.
into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves,
I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us
on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court,
licking his fingers why he got the ball.
Like, you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah.
You figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court,
and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app,

Hey, everyone.
It's Ryder Strong.
Will Ferdell from Podmeets World.
And now the Podmeets Twirled podcast.
We're two men who were completely clueless to reality TV,
who now have covered Dancing with the Stars, traitors,
and we're gearing up for the season finale of Survivor.
So yeah, now we're experts.
I know we annoyed a lot of our listeners by our severe lack of survivor knowledge.
That is the point of the show.
I'm just going to remind you.
I have watched some Survivor.
I obviously haven't watched enough.
Did people not like it?
Like what was...
Yeah.
Just because we...
Yeah.
We'll be recapping the big conclusion
at the 50th season
from the final attempts at gameplay
to the desperate pleas of finalists
to a bunch of...
Ha, who!
Ah, ha, ooh.
Again, we are experts.

There are times when the mind
becomes a difficult place to live.
This is David Eagleman with the Inner Cosmos podcast, and for Mental Health Awareness Month,
we're dedicating a series to understanding the mind when it struggles.
I'm joined by doctors, researchers, and those with lived experience.
We'll talk with singer-songwriter Jewel about anxiety.
I started living in my car, and then my car got stolen.
I was shoplifting.
I was having panic attacks.
I was agoraphobic.
And making it through hardship.
To be present is a learned skill.
and it's hard to be present.
We'll talk with John Nelson about clinical depression
and the brain implant that saved his life.
What I learned is that procedure made me happy
because I'm disease-free.
And we'll talk with leading experts like Judd Brewer about anxiety
and John Hirschfield about obsessive-compulsive disorder
and the science of how the brain can change.
This is a month of deeply personal and honest conversations
about what happens when the brain.
brain goes off course and what we can do about it.

Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio. Let me first of all say to the folks that are here.
I can't tell you how much I enjoy that. This is one of my favorite things in doing the show,
is going out on the road. I mean, we're in a random place. Both of these groups of people drove
from Nebraska. This was the stop I was most worried we would have no people at, because it's
literally there's nothing around here.
And yet we do have people.
And it means a lot that people are listening all the way across the country.
I expected John Higgins to be here since we're close to Omaha.
He did not make the trip, Drew.
I'd hoped to maybe have some common ground.
But he did not.
But it was nice of these people to make the trip.
It's great seeing them.
I wish we had seen him.
Maybe we could do a lap around, see his childhood home,
all his landmarks he has around Nebraska.
My former long snap of, that was.
We worked here.
I messaged him yesterday, say, could you get anyone to the show?
He said, there is no one in Nebraska that would bother coming to your radio show, dude.
Oh, eat it, Chris.
Yeah.
Eat it.
Hey, I used to root for you to snap it straight.
Well, now I hope you snap it crooked, Tristan, because that's not very nice.
Corey Price has already looked up an article on Penny's Diner in North Platte, Nebraska.
It says something unique to Penny's Diner is the dry raceboards on every wall.
Children and adults are encouraged to make a drawing.
using the dry race markers.
We've got to do one then, right?
What are we going to put on ours?
I know what Ryan will put, and they'll immediately delete it.
Mommy Swami?
No, it'll be a symbol of something.
I know what he will do.
But for everybody else, we can do some dry racing.
I'm looking forward to that.
Maybe drop some plays, go over some offense,
how we fix Kentucky football, it'll be fun.
Yeah, 859-28027.
Before we go, the phones, Vince was obviously on here yesterday.
It got a lot of attention after the show.
I think the general consensus was people thought it wasn't the most inspiring interview in the world from him.
You know, yesterday, it was weird when we had so much going on yesterday and when we had him on, you know, in the moment, we all kind of looked at each other like, this isn't the normal events that we're used to hearing, but we had to immediately get back to the show and do all this.
going back and listening, it wasn't the way it normally is with him, wouldn't you agree?
I totally agree.
It wasn't Vince's finest moment.
He seemed very elusive and seemed to dance around your questions, and you'd ask him a yes or no question.
He'd pause and wait a long time even before he said yes.
It just didn't seem like the Vince that we know.
It didn't.
And maybe it's just because there was a lot going on.
I mean, I don't know.
But it did not, you know, Drew, it just wasn't the raw, raw,
events that we are used to. I got blasted online for people go, why didn't you yell at him?
Why don't you yell at him? I mean, people were like, why didn't you press him? I mean, I asked
the much. I did, and he answered it the way he answered. I mean, I'm not going to scream at the guy.
I felt the same way when people would, you know, when we would talk to Cal and people would be
mad back in the day. Like, you can't, I mean, I give them that chance to answer, and then they
answer. I did think, though, it wasn't necessarily the best at telling the fans.
hey it's all going to be okay no he kind of didn't really want to get into the Louisville thing which was
the main story and kind of the reason he had gotten on the air because that report had come out and then
the thing that worried me was at the end when you said something about i said are you going to be back
in lexington his yes wasn't the most enthusiastic yes and there was a pause there it was like a
it was a hostage situation yes like somebody was standing over top of him i love vence i love
But I actually felt worse about his chance to stay in at Kentucky after the interview.
If he hadn't done the interview, I would have said, okay, he says he's not going.
I believe him.
After that interview, I don't know.
I felt like it was worse for me to think he's going to stay.
He said that they had that big meeting the night before.
So I'm hoping we can just put it down to they had a big day,
and they'd stayed up all night trying to fix the program and he was just tired.
But there was some moments.
For me, the biggest moment was when he said, we've got the pieces.
We just need to plug a few holes.
to me it's like there's a lot of places that we need to replace you really need to go hit the
portal hard and get some guys from high school and you know he mentioned two really good guards
I mean no offense to those guys I think we could probably replace all five of our offensive
time right now yeah I that's another that's another thing that people were a little frustrated about
so we'll see I mean I you know with all this stuff there is I remember when Pope was building his
roster Ryan there is a sense of like you're not going to know everything tomorrow you know
And there was a lot of people who didn't think Pope was filling his roster quick enough.
We didn't get great Osabor.
And some people were like, oh, this team's not going to be.
We're number four in the country right now.
So sometimes you have to let it play out.
But I do understand the nervousness in the fan base right now, and we'll see where we are in a few weeks.
Yeah, up until the past couple years, they've killed it in the transfer portal and killed it with their recruits.
For whatever reason, they just kind of missed on some guys.
But in the past few years, we've had guys returning we knew we could count on.
And I think people are worried about that this year.
So we'll see.
The most important thing that he said, and I think that there's a lot more to this than maybe people are making,
he said that they're going to do such a bigger look into the character of the human that they're bringing in.
I think that's going to make a world of difference.
I think that's great.
But there's a part of me that goes, well, why weren't we doing that before?
I agree.
Yes, it needs to change.
But also there's a part of me going that we should have been doing that.
Because they did a pretty good job of that with guys coming out of high school in general.
Stoops' thing used to be.
We probably had enough good culture guys, and the culture was strong enough that we were able to just bring guys in and they would fit in.
Now I think with NIL you're getting so many new guys all the time that maybe that overrode the culture.
So now back to the character's great.
8-59-28027.
Who's up first, Rick?
Got Steve up first.
Steve, go ahead, Steve.
Good morning, guys.
Thanks for taking my call.
The reason I'm calling, I'm in Atlanta and I'm heading over the Clemson game tonight.
I was just curious if you think there's going to be a large UK.
I've heard of some people going.
I don't know if it will be large, but I do think there will be people going.
Steve, I would ask, if you go to the game, do me a favor.
Call the post game show after and let us know what it was like and how many Kentucky fans were there.
I can do that.
Appreciate.
Appreciate it's called.
Generally speaking, when Kentucky's played at South Carolina over the years, Ryan,
we've gotten a good crowd there.
I don't know if this will be different because I don't know how many tickets were available
to the general fans.
But back in the day, when we play South Carolina, when they weren't good, we'd have 30% of the crowd there.
Yeah, usually when they played South Carolina, Georgia, Georgia Tech, somebody down there,
that Atlanta, UK alumni chapter is like the biggest in the country outside of Kentucky.
So they usually flood those games.
So, yeah, they'll be a good crowd there, but it won't miss a home game for Cliffs.
It's not going to be a monster year.
And we've already played in Atlanta this year.
You know, the Champions Classic game against Duke was there, so that may be a part of it, too.
That's what I was going to add.
we're going to have to trust the locals.
There's so many destinations this fall.
I mean, you can even throw in just going to Austin.
A lot of people did that.
You still have New York.
I think Seattle's going to have people made that the trip.
It just ranked a little too far down the list this year for, you know, everyone to fall into Clemson.
But I still think a good crowd will show.
I mean, this is a kind of game to me, Shannon, that if you're a really good team,
and I'm not going to be critical of this team, if they're not a really good team,
they can still become one.
But if you're a really good team, this is a kind of game you win.
Right?
Like you go to South.
You go to Clemson.
you're better than them, but they're at home, right, which is a whole other thing.
They've really not played anybody good.
They've played Boise State is the best team they played, and they lost.
So, I mean, they really haven't played anybody good.
This is the kind of game.
You want to go get the victory.
The 7-1 record looks good, but you're right.
You start looking at who they played, and they didn't really beat a lot of those teams by a large margin.
They struggled with some of those teams.
So, yeah, you feel like you can go in and win that game.
I feel like Kentucky's going to drop one of the two games coming up,
either the one we're going to or this game tonight.
And we'll see what happens, but I feel good about this game tonight.
Yeah, so real quickly, I will look at their schedule, just to give you a sense.
They beat Florida A&M by, I guess, 8, 28.
They beat Penn State at home by 8.
They will beat San Francisco Radford, lost by 13 to Boise.
They only beat Eastern by 10, and they beat St. Francis and Charleston Southern.
So not exactly a murderer's row.
Yeah, you know, we're thinking of the Clemson of last year.
that was really good and made a run to the Sweet 16,
and people thought they had a chance to even make the final.
But they have some of those dudes back, which is why.
Two best players have been there all the job.
Yeah, I mean, that's why they paired us with them,
is I think they thought with some of those dudes back they'd be good.
Their best player's been there six years.
Really?
Yeah.
I mean, my guess is whatever is their best effort, Drew, is what we will get tonight.
Yeah, and for me, I think straight up Kentucky would have no problem.
In fact, I can't wait to get to a state with Draft King so I can get on that.
But that atmosphere is the one thing that can carry Clemson's a spread.
Do we know?
Two.
Two?
It's two, us or then?
Yeah, we've got to get to a state ASAP.
All right.
We'll be in Colorado a little bit.
859-28027.
We'll take your calls.
We'll be back here in Carnie, Nebraska.
It's KSR.
Welcome back.
It is Kentucky Sports Radio.
A lot of good messages coming in on the text machine.
772-7524.
One person writes, Matt, if Ryan,
if they say he's not a candidate for CPAP,
maybe he should have his tonsils taken out.
That helps some people.
Really?
I've never heard of that.
Maybe you should get your tonsils out.
They'll give you ice cream.
I'd be willing to do that if it helps.
We can find a place in Fort Collins.
Yeah, why don't we just like to do it right now just so that we have a better trip?
I'm okay with that.
Let's go ahead and get them knocked out right now.
Maybe while we're out here.
I think that would be good.
One person writes, Matt, why do you continue to pick hotels that don't have continental breakfasts?
I know that bothers Shannon.
It does.
Yeah, I love a continental breakfast.
Like right now, my stomach is roaring.
I'm just waiting for pennies.
But, you know, I like to get up and have a little continental breakfast.
Yeah, but, you know, what are you going to get?
Bacon, eggs, biscuits, gravy, hashbris.
rounds, maybe some yogurt, orange juice,
Apple, Mario likes apple juice,
apple juice, some coffee.
I got my coffee, but other than that, you know.
You don't eat all that stuff.
This is a absolute.
Yeah, when did you become such a diva?
Like, you know what you're going to have tomorrow?
You're going to have a trundle bed, and we're going to get you some,
we're going to get some vanilla.
DoorDash.
We're going to door dash McDonald's.
And that's what's going to happen, and you're going to like it.
So one person writes, Matt, I think you were soft on your interview with Vince.
You didn't press him.
because he's your friend.
It was a low moment for KSR.
Geez.
Well, thank you for that.
That was stiff.
I don't know what people want me to do.
All right, so let's use the, I want to give you an example.
Because when we were driving, as people were saying that, I was thinking about some of that.
When I say, are you going to go to Louisville?
First of all, when I say, you know, are you playing on being back?
Yes.
What about the rumor about Louisville?
And he goes, I don't want to comment on that.
What would you like me to do at that point?
Yeah.
Go comment it on a chicken.
Yeah.
Like what do you want me to say?
That would like awesome.
Like, I mean, I cannot make the man.
Like, he would probably just say the same thing again, right?
Yeah.
So when I say, are you going to be back?
And he stammers and then says yes.
What would you like me to do then go?
Are you sure?
I mean, is that really yes?
Is that your final answer?
Is that your final answer?
Like, another thing people said, well, you know, he said the thing about the offensive line,
We have some sob pieces.
He mentioned one of the players.
And people are like, how could you not press him on that?
Do you want me to look at him and go, that guy you think's good, he's not good?
I mean, I just don't know what people think the job of a reporter.
I'm not even a reporter.
Of an interviewer is in that question.
Also, I have nine minutes.
If I was sitting with him for an hour, that's a different conversation.
Normally, you know I don't like to do interviews on the phone, okay, for that very reason.
You can't look at somebody.
Can't read them.
It's hard to cut people off on the phone, although I do it to callers.
But for interviews, I can cut somebody off when I'm looking at them a lot easier than I can cut them off when I'm on the phone.
So that makes it hard.
You have nine minutes.
The other thing is, and this is true of every coach that comes on here, they don't have to do this, right?
I think they should.
I think it was a mistake for years.
Kyle didn't.
But if you come on there and you berate them, they'll be.
never come on again.
Why would they?
Why would they?
And then you throw in that, yes, I acknowledge he's my friend.
But I think people, it's really easy online to say, you should have,
I bet 99% of people, if you were talking to him, you'd have asked him for an autograph.
I mean, let's be real.
It's easy to theoretically, it's another thing when you have to have the conversation with
the other person.
In my opinion, he answered the questions.
Now, were his answer satisfactory?
Clearly not to a lot of people.
And honestly, I love the guy, but not really to me.
But that's him.
Like, that's his decision, and everyone can interpret it the way they want to.
He seemed a little distracted from the very start.
Like, I don't know if he was in the middle of it.
He got a call or something in the middle of it.
And he was like, hold on a second.
So I don't know what was distracting him.
Maybe that's why some of his responses were delayed.
He was trying to shoot people away.
I don't know.
And to be fair, like you asked him,
question to start and you end it with the same question so you can't do you go to looble you said to be
clear to be clear and i ended with that so you know i am i am a harsh critic of myself and so when i
have things i sit there at the end and think okay well what could i've done differently and i don't
just sit there and go man you killed it right there i sit there and think about it and i went back
and listen last night and i'm not sure what else i could have asked him that wouldn't just me be going
being hostile, which if you've listened to this show, I'm really not like that to anybody.
Your second question to him was, what do you think went wrong this past season?
You had to ask that.
Later in a year, you ask him, what about the culture, the people saying the culture is bad?
You asking that.
Those questions had to be asked.
You did ask them.
You know, there were a lot of people.
The one that seemed to get people was when he said that about the offensive line.
And he said it's only been one bad.
Well, again, do you think it would be good for me to take the player he mentioned?
look at him and go, no, I think he's bad.
I think he knows.
He knows better than us.
That's not my job.
You know, so anyway.
That interview was not about the offensive line.
It was about Vince's potential going to another school and leaving.
And also, if you came out of there, you have, whether good or bad, you have a sense of where his head is, one way or the other.
And that's, you know, that's ultimately what you're trying to do.
Who's next?
Johnny Versace is next.
Johnny Versace.
How are you?
great, Matt. I'm somewhat of a sleep apnea expert if you would like me. Oh, well, sure. Give it to us because he needs it.
Well, that depends. So snoring isn't exactly indicative of sleep apnea. It can be, but sleep apnea is literally you stop breathing for more than 10 seconds at a time at least 10 times an hour.
Okay, so he doesn't. So you don't do that, right?
Correct. Okay, good. So then, so then Johnny, what do you do if someone is snoring like a buffalo but isn't stopping breathing? In matter of fact, he's breathing too much.
Yeah, well, that's, you know, again, that's not good for your sleep either. And sleep is extremely important. Or anyone's, not just his. Right. Exactly. Like Mario and Shannon and everybody. But.
And the neighbors. No, I mean, there are some, there are some.
Yeah, there are some treatments that you can do for really bad snoring.
Well, Ron, you will endorse anything.
You will endorse anything.
Yeah.
And Johnny, nice to hear from you.
I'm pretty sorry about the loss.
I know you hated that Saturday as the Louisville hater.
You will endorse anything.
If someone got you to endorse something that made you not be a water buffalo, would you do it?
Oh, absolutely.
I would definitely look into it, yeah.
Would you endorse something that would give you a shirt that doesn't have a rip on it next to your nipple?
Oh.
Oh, I see it right there.
Can you get a nipple rip?
Right on top of it.
Now, yoga girl said I don't snore as much after I lost the weight.
Like she said, the snoring is not as bad as it used to be.
Do you believe that?
Ryan, have you tried the one where some people, like, tape their mouth shot?
No, I'm not doing that.
We're not duct tape in his mouth shot.
I'm supposed to help you breathe that out.
If I'd have to sleep with him one night, it may end up happening.
Who's next?
Andrew is next.
Andrew, go ahead, Andrew.
Hey Matt, road crew
Nice to talk to you
98 UK grad
lived in South Carolina
the last 22 years
I'll be at the game tonight
I'll have a couple of friends with me
my son who's actually going to Clemson will be there as well
I'll tell you right now I've been to many games
at Little John it is a tough compact arena
I really compare it to the hump
at Mississippi State and size and environment
they'll get the calls tonight so get ready for that one
the good news is they don't have Hall and Gerard
Gerard was just the, actually,
Gerard, the guy that had last year was one of the top ten
an all-time history, high school scores, he's gone.
Okay.
But they do have, they got a really good guard, Chase Hunter.
I mean, he's shooting almost 50% from three.
I mean, big, big score.
And they got those two big, I call him Brutes inside, the Shephlin.
Yeah, he looks like a physics major, but he's really,
he's really physical, and they got that big rushing, dude.
Yeah, they do have that guy.
There are some tickets available.
Well, so that's what I was going to say.
I'm glad you brought that up.
That's what I was going to say.
The get-in price right now, and I pre-are you going, by the way, sir?
Oh, yes, yes.
There's three of us going.
The get-in price right now is only $15.
Wow.
So it might not be, I appreciate to call it, might not be, drew the atmosphere that we've assumed.
I have people showing me tickets like lower-level $27.
So maybe if you're in the area, it might not be as hard to get in.
as we thought. Yeah, we don't know that fan base very well.
You know, they have the ACCC championship Sunday, so.
Dabo still has all their attention right now, and they haven't flipped the switch over to basketball yet with all they have going on this week.
Does Dabo trot out at mid-court, half-time in the game or something tonight, probably?
No, I hope so. I hope we beat him, and then we throw the paw down right at him.
He's the worst.
The good news is for Mark Pope is he could have just recorded that segment just then and played it to the team, and there's a breakdown done.
It would have been more of a breakdown than they got last year before the game.
Absolutely.
Who's up next?
Tim is up next.
Tim, go ahead, Tim.
Hey, Matt.
Don't beat yourself up on that Vince interview.
I listened and I thought it was perfectly fine as long as, I mean, you ask the questions.
He can answer them however he wants.
Yeah, I mean, don't get me wrong.
I didn't.
But there were people who are usually pretty big fans of the show just acting like we had lost,
or I'd lost my minds during that interview.
So I just went back to see, is there something I'm missing here?
And I went back and honestly, I don't know what I would have done differently except just go, no.
And like, I don't think that's good.
I don't think that's a very good thing for an interviewer to do.
Nick Coffey wrote a Twitter article this morning about why the SEC is so much more dominant in the ACC.
They're 12 and 1 this year.
Yes, in basketball.
And the consensus was that the SEC is.
that the SEC is just a better college experience for those kids that are choosing between, say,
an Old Miss and a Pittsburgh or a Syracuse and a South Carolina.
That's interesting.
I agree with that.
I totally agree with that.
You think a basketball team to a South Carolina game, they're going to South Carolina.
I'm in South Carolina right now.
It's way too cold to go to a basketball game.
Enjoy your trip, fellas.
Appreciate it.
I actually do agree with that.
I think, and I hadn't thought about it like that, but Max, it's more.
fun to go to an S.E. School than most ACCC schools. Absolutely. I mean, Kentucky,
Louisville has a much better on-campus atmosphere than it did 20 years ago, but it's not Kentucky.
That's so much more fun to be in the SEC and the weather so much better. I mean, you end up going up to those places.
Now some people like the cold. I definitely do not. I don't think the majority people do.
I think he just said it was too cold to go to a basketball game. It's indoors, so I'm sure it'll be fine.
But SEC, for sure, I mean, look at the ACC schools.
Pitt, Boston College, Syracuse.
You know, you get very few college towns in the ACC.
Virginia is a college town, Virginia Tech, Chapel Hill, Duke.
But a lot of places aren't.
And I hadn't thought about it like that, but I think it's a good point.
Clayton and Kroom, Shannon, was founded on a simple idea.
What's that?
All leather goods should last a life.
I agree.
They make everything from bags, belts, wallets, and much more.
And at best, they're doing it right here in Kentucky.
Or right there in Kentucky.
I'm in Nebraska.
Clayton and Kroom at CRUME.com.
Visit their flagship store in Louisville at 216 South Shelby Street,
located in Newloo.
Quality leather goods from Clayton and Kroom built to last.
I have their wallet right here.
Look at that.
It has lasted it ever since.
I got it.
It's lasted your life time.
Like 10 years, yeah.
Man, you got at least 10 more.
Maybe.
I don't know.
We'll take a break.
Gary back.
That's Kentucky Sports Radio.
Last night, a blown call changed the game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind.
Highlights are trending.
opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where Sports Slice comes in.
I'm Timbo.
Every episode, we're cutting through the noise.
Breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines.
We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves.
Their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear.
The laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments that never make the highlight real.
From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down,
give you context and ask the questions everybody wants answered.

What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
The smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows.
Without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
Steve Nash will get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court, licking his fingers
why he got the ball, like,
after you go through a training camp with that, I said,
you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court,
and you're going to get the ball.

The biggest decisions.
If you're going to look at stats and numbers,
he has no shot at making this World Cup team.

It wouldn't be a huge surprise

I'm just going to remind you.
I have watched some survivor.
I obviously haven't watched enough.
Did people not like it?
Yeah.
Just because we?
Yeah.

One person writes, Matt,
people always ask who you'd want to play golf with or have dinner with.
I'll take the opposite.
Who would be your worst people to have dinner with?
I assume Trump and Dabo are two of them.
Dabo maybe.
Trump, no.
I mean, I don't like him at all as a leader,
but at a dinner, I actually think he would be entertaining
for his absurdity.
So I actually, plus you're, it's a former president,
so there might be, I mean, I feel like he'd just tell you whatever happened,
Drew.
You know what I mean?
I feel like he just let it fly.
So he would be interesting for a dinner.
I think if you're talking about dinner like the worst,
from a political standpoint, it's Ted Cruz.
Dabo's good.
Aaron Rogers.
That's a good one.
and I don't know somebody who's just really boring but likes to hear themselves talk would be someone I would I'm trying to think
hmm I've got mine who is it who's yours Vladimir Putin and uh Kim Jong-un nobody would understand anybody
oh you're worried they just don't speak the same language and I you know like they're probably not good
leaders and I don't think I would like that I think I like the idea you're partially considering whether
not you can understand what they said.
Yes.
And if they're going to kill me at the end of the dinner, I mean, they might get poison.
Well, they are now. I mean, they weren't going to before.
What about you, Ryan?
Who's going to be in yours?
Jim Host?
He would somehow enjoy being with.
Yes.
I think, though, you and Trump would enjoy playing golf together.
Because you both cheat in the same way.
You know what?
You need to watch himself.
Foot wedge, pick it up.
We don't.
There's no cheating.
It's just pick up from five feet in.
I'm not stealing it.
I let them know, Drew.
it's happening. Sometimes. Or sometimes the rest of your group's in the fairway waiting to hit their
approach shots. I do play fast. I do finish the hole quickly. You do. You and Trump would play 18 holes
in 45 minutes. I'm the fastest golfer in the United States. What about you? Who would you not want at
your dinner? I'm struggling because even people I don't like, I think it would be funny to have dinner with them.
Yeah, I agree. Someone you just mentioned that lives nearby in Omaha, I probably would enjoy that.
So he wouldn't want to have dinner with the rough. You know, I'm not an aggressive person. That's true. He's a fourth one.
He's a fourth one for me. I might flip a table over in that setting.
He's the fourth one for me.
That's a really good call.
We won't mention his name, although I did earlier.
But he would be the fourth.
What about you?
You're pretty harsh person.
Am I?
I don't know.
Dabo would be out there.
There's a guy on ESPN that used to be a specialist.
He'd be out there of guys I would not want to be.
He's on TV a lot, though.
He is a little bit, but he's just not that funny.
And his opinions aren't that great.
I agree.
Shannon, I always like to do this.
You know, about once every year, UK players put out a song.
Oh, yeah.
And when they put out a song, nobody's better at grading UK songs.
Before we play this one, in the past, what do you think has been the best and worst UK-related song?
There hasn't been a best one.
The worst one was, teach me about Kentucky.
Like, there was nothing that was even kind of good.
Now there's a new one.
Yeah.
Our advertiser, Clark's Pumping Shop, has got Lamont Butler doing a rap about Clark's Pumping Shop.
We love Clark's.
And in the video, Lamont Butler is with Andrew Carr.
and Jackson Robinson.
Yes.
But the rapping is Alamont Bowling.
Now this is 30 seconds.
Shannon, I consider you, you're the music guy.
Yeah.
I consider you the expert on songs about Kentucky.
Let's play, I pump and I shop by Lamont Bowler.
I'm rolling on empty.
Holla if you feel me.
Got a big stop.
Got my boys car at Robinson rolling with me.
I'll pump my gas.
I grab my snacks.
I'm saving cash with my Clark's pumping shop out.
Yeah.
I pump and shop.
I use the app to pump and shop.
Use Clark's Pump and Shop app to earn a war.
What do you think, Shannon?
I pump, I shop, I use the app to pump and shop.
What was it with a, yeah, yeah?
Did you hear that at the very beginning?
What was that background?
I don't know.
Jackson Robinson.
Is that it wasn't?
I mean, it was better than teach me back Kentucky, but it wasn't, it still wasn't great.
Was it?
I mean, do you guys?
I don't know.
I feel like last night after I heard it, I kept going.
I pump.
Okay, so it's catchy.
I shop.
I shop.
Dude, it's awful.
When you see the video that even just even enforces the fact that it's awful?
See, I'm giving it a good solid B plus.
I like it, Max.
I actually think it's got a catchy too.
Like, I was kind of bobbing into it a little bit.
I like it.
I like the song.
I give the song a B plus, but the video takes it up to a solid A for me.
The video's awesome.
The lights are turned off in Clark's pumping and shopping.
He's pumping and shopping.
He uses the.
App.
And your car has like 10 bags of chips at the counter because he's just bawling.
It sounds as good as any other rap song that I've heard on the radio in the last 20 years.
That's not.
The bar's not that high.
You're the official grader.
I'll give it a B.
It's good.
It's not great.
It's good.
He uses the app.
And he pumps and chops.
That is how NIL was supposed to be.
Not here's your collective buyout.
Make a rap video for us.
And it helps that it's, you know, about a company that we endorse.
That's right.
Who's up next?
Rick.
Kentucky Joe is next.
Oh, good.
Speaking of singers.
Kentucky Joe, go ahead.
Yeah, it's a Kentucky Joe approved rap song.
Well, that's what they were hoping for.
Yes.
Well, if we were supposed to talk, things that have happened in my life, but there comes a heat on it.
But take your time, Joe.
We have 30 seconds.
So any time, go ahead and tell us about the heat and the cool.
in your apartment.
I got that in the room.
He just came on my little apartment.
Anytime you're ready, Joe.
Kentucky wins tonight, 7,967.
I think I think Coach Stoitt stays.
And he's going to have to get a new offensive coordinator.
I think that's what we need.
Do we need a new offensive coordinator?
The big group of Walner developed.
and I'll probably do a Christmas song here down the road here for a week.
Well, that's something for everybody to look forward to.
Thank you, Joe.
We will take a break.
Come back, hour number two here in Cardi, Nebraska.
It's KSR.

Unfiltered conversations from night sweats to futas to scheduling sex.
Wait, what sex?
Is it just me or does every woman my age want to look at Pinterest instead of having sex sometimes?

Absolutely.
A redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip.
Just a little bit bigger hips.
This is a podcast.
We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey.
With all the snacks and drinks.
Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer?
