That's how personal it got. Wow. Then after that game seven, Mark keep coming to. He's like,

Hey.
And we have been joined at the hips since high school.
Absolutely.
A redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip.
Just a little bit bigger hips.
This is a podcast.
We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey.
All the snacks and drinks.
Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer?
Oh, they had a bogo.

Hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio, 859-28027.
Text machine 772-774-5254.
We are here in Carnegie, Nebraska.
A good group of folks, four folks made the trip.
We'll be in tonight in Fort Collins, Colorado to watch the game.
Mario Year is going to come on here before the show is over and announce where it's going to be tonight.
I hope he knows he has an hour left to pick the spot and not disappoint everyone in Fort Collins who wants to come watch the cats tonight.
Pressure's on, Mario, he's been scoping it out.
I believe in him.
Mario, no pressure, but there is a place that's run by an Australian called waltzing kangaroo.
You're making the decision.
We have to stop getting into other people's decisions here.
This is everybody's individual decision.
Mario, you can pick it.
You don't have to waltz with a kangaroo if you don't want to.
Don't let the Aussie get in the way of everything.
One person writes, Matt, what are the discussions in the car on the trip?
That's a good question.
There are not a lot of discussions, right?
There were a couple of discussions yesterday.
Well, those are phone calls.
Those are long phone calls.
But amongst the people of the group.
No, you know, I sit up front by you.
We discussed, you know, Biden's son every once in a while.
Yeah, well, we all decided whether or not we would pardon their son.
You were pretty adamant that, well, pretty much it was 6-0.
Everyone said they would pardon their son, except you.
You said you would pardon your son depending on what he did.
That's right.
If he did, well, as you guys know, I have a son that's in jail.
He did something pretty bad.
I wouldn't pardon him.
He deserves to be punished.
So if they did something bad.
So we spent like 30 minutes going, what would you pardon for and what wouldn't you?
Yeah.
And basically, Ryan would pardon for anything that doesn't hurt anybody.
Is that kind of how you are?
Yeah, true.
Yes, yeah.
So Hunter's federal tax evasion, I probably would.
If it was my son, I probably would pardon him.
Yeah.
But I think a lot of people, like, when I heard it, I was like, oh, Joe, you shouldn't have done that.
And I still kind of lean that way.
But at the same time, if it was your kid.
Yeah.
And they were sitting there looking at prison.
That's right.
You know.
But you, but you, I think you made a good distinction between, like, what kind of crime it was.
Yeah.
If it's a violent crime or something, you absolutely deserve to be punished.
Yeah.
8-5-9-80-2-82-87 so let's talk about the game now you feel good about us winning
at Clemson I do especially now because as I said it's all atmosphere for me I think Kentucky's the
better team and just seeing that there's tickets available for what they are makes me question
how good it'll be you know Kentucky hasn't been in the true road environment but they
played Duke in a pretty rowdy Atlanta I know a lot of that crowd was for them so they've
played away from rut before I think we'll be okay but I do expect them to drop one of the two
this week. So it's not like I'm just guaranteeing anything, but I feel pretty good about this.
It'd be awesome to win this week, Shannon, and then if we lose, then we could go into the Gizagg.
It's almost a no-lose situation. That's right, right? Like you're playing and if you win,
you want to win, but if you don't, it doesn't hurt you too much. Yeah, not going to hurt it
all when it comes time for March. If anything, it gets you ready for March. So, I mean, if you
say, though, you've got to drop one of the two games. I'd rather drop tonight and win in Seattle.
I don't want to drive all the way out to Seattle to watch a loss and drive back or
flyback.
Yeah, I mean, that's actually another good point.
If you tell me we're going one in one, the NCAA has shown over the years they give
you more credit in the tournament for good wins than bad losses or than harm for bad losses.
So you would want to beat Gonzaga and lose to Clemson.
I think that would be my pick.
You beat Gonzaga, one of the top five teams in the country.
It's going to help you at the end of the season.
Yeah, when seedings come out.
You were telling me that since you got to Kentucky, Max, you really haven't had a basketball team
since you've been here that kind of got everybody into it.
Because you came, you were not here for 2017 team.
You were here in 18.
So basically you saw the 18, 19 team.
You basically lived through the worst of it.
Do you, are you excited about this group?
Absolutely.
Can't fall out of a basement window.
So the only way's up.
I'm really looking forward to this Mark coach team.
I've actually enjoyed it.
Watch the Duke game.
I didn't get to watch last Fridays because I was coaching,
but looking forward to these two games to see where we're at.
at. I think obviously we only really played the one difficult game so far and we managed to come
out on top. Although I would say we maybe didn't look better than them. We just kind of had a few
things go away. So I'm looking forward to these two games to see exactly where we're at.
Let's talk about a couple of college basketball developments. Is Danny Hurley the biggest whiner
you've ever seen? He's definitely povealted way up that list. And just think, man, what if he'd
have been here? We'd been stuck with that guy. Yeah, but we would have defended him. I mean,
That's the thing. One of the things you find is the older I get, the more I think this is true. In life, everything's real. Like, if he was here, we'd find a way to say it's okay. We'd be like, ah, you shouldn't do it, but.
We'd say, look at the passion our coach has. But being objective neutral, because he's not here, he seems to. He looks like a madman.
He looks like a madman. You're in Maui, dude. Yeah. We know we have Bahamas Matt. Where's Maui Dan out there?
We also, I think it's good, we have college basketball has a good villain again.
The world united around them.
That's true.
That is true.
And we were celebrating it in addition to the clips of his losing his mind on the ref.
I just, we have a bad guy in college basketball.
Maybe he was always like that, Shannon.
And I just, you know, it's weird with the teams in the Big East.
Their games are not on ESPN.
So you don't see them a lot.
Like, it's easy to kind of forget them.
And then you get in the tournament.
And the last two tournaments, I'm going to be honest.
with you, I've paid less attention to the last two NCAA tournaments than any because of just
the way Kentucky was. So maybe I've just kind of missed and he was a jerk all the time. But it does
feel like that was obscene levels of jerked them. Back-to-back games, too. You just won national
titles back-to-back. You were in Maui. Well, how could life be so bad that you would be that
angry about anything? In some ways, the video of his coach holding back was worse than the one even
before because it just showed how out of control he was.
He looked like an insane man.
I mean, he's always been that kind of confident, loud guy, but it's just going to a
whole other level now.
He's got two national championships.
And they lost to, what, Colorado, Memphis and Dayton.
It's not like they lost to great teams.
Maybe that's why they were winning all the games last couple of years.
We didn't get to see him Luzi's stuff.
Yes.
Now, he also said after it was over, he went 0 and 3 in the Maui tournament.
and he said, I'll never come back to one of these tournaments.
Whang?
He kind of, that was Cal's position.
He said, I'll never come back.
Then Matt Norlander did a story that basically said these tournaments are in trouble, including Maui,
that teams are just like, why should we travel somewhere and pay all this money to go
when we can host games at home or play on neutral sites?
Matt Norlander's point was that the tournaments like Duke played in with Kansas and that those
kind of things are going to be the future where they play like two games in a place and it's not even
really a tournament kind of like our big blue invitational yeah but even that's like just at home
he he thinks the future is you go to you know wherever you go to Vegas or whatever you play two
games one of which is against a really good team one of which is against a mid-major and that's your
tournament yeah there's already been a lot of those this year i think there'll be more yesterday talking
to our guy iowa iowa did one of those we saw uh i guess this wasn't a
two game, but like Arkansas played Illinois and wherever that was, Kansas City or whatever it was,
I think we'll see a lot more of those around the holiday.
That's a shame because the Shrips.
I think the Maui Invitational is really good for college basketball.
I mean, like, because of Dan Hurley and all that, everyone was talking about it, right?
I mean, like it was, it kind of put college basketball on the map a little bit at a time where it's
very hard with all that's going on for people to pay attention to it.
For what?
40 years, the Maui Invitational has been something to basketball fans can look forward to and watch.
And it's a perfect time.
It's that Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday before Thanksgiving, where people are only kind of working.
It's like the perfect time for it to be on.
It's the perfect time of day because you get those late games or normally you don't have a good basketball game on.
You can be in bed watching Auburn play North Carolina past midnight.
Yeah, so I would hate to see that happen.
But that may be the future.
You know, Popis said he would play in it.
Yes.
The next time we can play in it is 2028.
The field is set for 26 and 27.
so we could play it in 2028.
I've been told when it comes to UK basketball schedule
that this is kind of the future.
All right, you're going to play Louisville, obviously, every year.
You're going to play in the ACC or SEC Challenge,
which it will be every year.
You're going to play in the Champions Classic.
So those are the three you can kind of lay in.
I think the CBS Classic goes away.
I think there's two more years.
I think we play this year and then maybe next year we play UCLA in it
or whatever.
and then I think it goes away.
I don't think they renew that again.
And then there are two years left in the Gonzaga series after this.
Well, Kentucky plays in Nashville next year.
That game will happen.
But then I think the two games after that will get canceled.
So I think we will play Gonzaga this year and then we'll play Nashville.
I think they're going to recreate UK Indiana.
And then I think they're going to have Kentucky play one other somebody,
either in a neutral site game or a home.
home. And so basically every year you get Champions Classic, Louisville, ACC,
game, Indiana, and someone else, and that's your schedule. Do you like that as a schedule of
non-conference? I think so. I'm really glad the CBS Classic is going away. Last year in Atlanta,
UK, North Carolina, that was like a tournament game, but everyone before that, the crowd sucked,
the game sucked. I feel like we lost games we shouldn't have, get it out here. Indiana,
that starts next year that's on the schedule we got four years of Kentucky Indiana coming back
so I know me and Ryan kind of grew up a part of that we're both looking forward to that one
coming back I'm glad they're that Pope wants to keep that too you know he was here when they're still
they were playing Indiana and they got some big those big rivalry games stink now yeah they got to
get better I mean they don't like I don't want to play that's not a game like you know
we've had this conversation many times over the years but to me it's like they're not
they stink yeah and we were right saying Cal would never go back to assembly hall
Yeah, that's right.
And we called that years ago.
No, I mean, he wasn't going to go back to Assembly Hall.
But now I think you can go with where we are now.
Well, when he's scheduled it, because Cal is the one that, I think, yeah, this was booked with Cal four years.
Assembly Hall is the fourth stop.
We just assumed he was going to get out of it before the fourth one.
It's rough than, like Lucas Oil, then another neutral.
And then Assembly Hall is the very last one.
But I like that schedule.
I think maybe mixing a few more in-state teams, which I think Pope would probably do, you know, for the smaller schools that we play.
Well, I like the ACCC.
challenge because it sends you to arenas that you wouldn't normally go to and you're going
to get teams in Rupp that you wouldn't normally go to.
The good thing is if we can get the CBS Classic over, then I think we'll play North Carolina
a lot in that ACC challenge.
The problem is I don't know if we're ever going to get to play Duke in it because of the
Champions Classic because of the way that the schedule works.
So that at least gives you North Carolina.
So we're not always playing Clemson and Miami who's who we've played the last couple
years. Yeah, hopefully we'll get a Cameron indoor trip. One of the years you're playing Kansas or
Michigan State. Maybe you just played Duke the year before, then you can rotate them for two years
and playing the Champions Classic. It gets something going there because I, Cameron Indoor for Kentucky
game is very high on my college basketball bucket list. Maybe number one. I'd love to see a Kentucky
game there. I've seen many games there, but obviously not the cats. Max, the Emirates NBA Cup is here.
It certainly is. The Drapking Sportsbook is your betting partner of the NBA. They have a game
tonight. King of the court? You can do King of the Court. You do it all the time, right?
I love King of the Court. Get $150 in bonus bets. King of the Court can help you win money.
And then tonight, Kentucky and Clemson, Kentucky's a one and a half point favorite.
Bet five, use my code KSR, get 150 in bonus bets. You can also, if you need to, go and, well,
that's the thing at the end. I'm not going to read that. Who wins tonight?
Kentucky wins. I mean, I'm going to read it. I'm just not going to read it at this moment. Go ahead.
I like Kentucky to win tonight.
I mean,
Clemson is not the Clemson of last year.
So, yeah, I like Kentucky.
You like Kentucky?
Yep, and the two points to go along with it.
Kentucky.
Yeah, we got some props, too.
Well, give me one real quick.
How about Otega Oweigh over 16 points?
That seems a little hot.
Ooh.
That's the first one I read.
Lamont Butler, 12 points.
Any of those?
Andrew Carr.
He's tough and shop.
He's a gambling problem.

soccer is about to explode.
The World Cup is coming.
Ramos sending on to Ernie Stewart the chip.
I'm Tad Ramos.
I'm Tom Boe. On our podcast,
Inside American Soccer, you'll get the real storylines.
I'm not worried about Policic.
I'm not worried about Balagan.
I'm not worried about McKinney.
My only concern is what happens in the back.
The biggest decisions.
If you're going to look at stats and numbers,
he has no shot at making this World Cup team.
And the truth.
about the U.S. national team.
It wouldn't be a huge surprise

What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm CJ Toledano,
and our podcast Point Game is about defining the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs
without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways
to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows.
Without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stopped by like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nash would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court, licking his fingers why he got the ball.
Like, after you go through a training camp with that, ISA,
you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.

Hey, everyone.
It's Ryder Strong and Will Ferrell from PodMeets World.
And now the Pod Meets Twirled podcast.
We're two men who were completely clueless to reality TV,
who now have covered Dancing with the Stars, traitors,
and we're gearing up for the season finale of Survivor.
So yeah, now we're experts.
I know we annoyed a lot of our listeners by our severe lack of survivor knowledge.
That is the point of the show.
I'm just going to remind you.
I have watched some Survivor.
I obviously haven't watched enough.
Did people not like it?
Yeah.
Just because we?
Yeah.
We'll be recapping the big conclusion
at the 50th season
from the final attempts at gameplay
to the desperate pleas of finalists

There are times when the mind
becomes a difficult place to live.
This is David Eagleman with the Inner Cosmos podcast.
And for Mental Health Awareness Month, we're dedicating a series to understanding the mind when it struggles.
I'm joined by doctors, researchers, and those with lived experience.
We'll talk with singer-songwriter Jewel about anxiety.
I started living in my car, and then my car got stolen.
I was shoplifting.
I was having panic attacks.
I was agoraphobic.
And making it through hardship.
To be present is a learned skill, and it's hard to be present.
We'll talk with John Nelson about clinical depression and the brain implant that saved his life.
What I learned is that procedure made me happy because I'm disease-free.
And we'll talk with leading experts like Judd Brewer about anxiety,
and John Hirschfield about obsessive-compulsive disorder,
and the science of how the brain can change.
This is a month of deeply personal and honest conversations about what happens when the brain goes off course
and what we can do about it.

They've gotten, I looked at all that stuff again last night.
It's gotten the quality here.
has definitely improved, and so there should be good stuff for your holiday needs.
Yeah, good gift-giving ideas right there for sure.
Let me read this.
One person writes and says, my question is for Ryan.
I worry about him.
Does he know he's getting older and that some of the things he takes for granted for his health
may not always be there?
Can he make sure to stay healthy for those of us that love him?
Very sweet for my mom to write in and say that.
You know, I had a salad at Pizza Ranch.
Yep.
It's a good salad.
But you also had pizza.
I had one piece of pizza.
Rose it out.
One?
Yeah.
Wow.
That's good.
I had a salmon skewer with rice last night.
Go back to Pizza Ranch.
But did you try the fried chicken?
I had one piece fried chicken.
Okay.
But you can't say I had a salad like that cancels out everything else you eat.
I mean, what kind of dressing did you put on the salad?
A thousand island.
Okay.
That's worse for you than the pizza.
A lot of.
of it so your lunch not dinner lunch lunch was a salad drenched in
thousand island dressing yes of slice of pizza one piece of pizza a
front thing of fried chicken one chicken leg and did you get out of breadstick nope
that's all you ate yeah wow okay that's not bad you take two trips to the
no no it I would wait more than that a salmon skewer and rice last night it so are you
trying to be healthy this trip i was trying to eat kind of smart what about that big margarita i did
have a margarita family and tradition yeah so i mean i don't know that that was a weight lost day
yeah today at pennies i'm a little worried about i'm going to have to get something fried and greasy
we don't have to you get a salad uh if they have you're not getting a salad i got to get a greasy
cheeseburger thank you so now we're right back to where we were to where we were a minute ago who's up next
Mark Anthony is next.
Mark Anthony.
How are you?
859-280-2287.
Good morning, Mario.
Good morning, Max.
Mario's not on the radio, but Max is here.
Go ahead.
Morning.
Yeah, you know.
Anyway, Matt, I listened to you and Vince yesterday,
and it was low energy,
but I say you could put that off to the fact that the past 24 hours
had probably been spending some pretty intense discussion.
And what I heard him say,
was we've made a grossness calculation in recruiting talent without as much regard to character
as we need to give.
Well, he certainly said that.
I mean, I thought that was a pretty big mission to say.
I mean, when you go, we recruit people and we need to do better with the character,
that shows that, I mean, by implication, Mark Anthony, that's not what they were doing before.
Well, and I think that he, they intend, or Mark Stoops intends to turn that around.
and go per character.
And once that's been evaluated, then we'll look at the test.
So what that means is we're going to end up with three-star guys.
We're not going to get three.
That's not necessarily true.
I don't think that's true.
Why do you think that everybody that's, I mean,
there are teams full of guys that win that don't get in trouble all over college football.
Why can't Kentucky get those guys?
They used to be at Alabama and Georgia, and they're not there.
so much anymore because there are those guys I mean there are those guys like why do you assume why do you
assume that there's not a guy like let me I mean just think about all the guys over the years that we've
had that were our best players Randall Cobb Chris Rodriguez Benny Snell like those dudes were good guys
think of all the guys on defense we've had a couple guys with some characteristics but most of them
were good guys max when you played most of that team was good dudes right absolutely yeah I mean
probably 99.9% of them.
The guys on the offensive line that were the big blue wall,
I think pretty much every one of those dudes,
Mark Anthony, was a high character guy.
So why can't you go get those?
High character, man.
High character, but they also were talented.
They played the NFL, six of them.
But what I'm saying is we're getting three-star guys,
but that's stoop specialty anyhow.
It always was.
Development was always good.
Well, there's some truth to that.
There's some truth to that.
Yeah, and so, you know, it's just,
not going to look like. I think that
Scoopsy had seen himself
as having reached the threshold
of the Alabama's and the Georgia's,
where you just get top
five-star talent and go to town.
And even Alabama and Georgia
ain't doing that now. No, you're right.
I mean, there was no doubt that the
arrogance, I appreciate the call. Arrogance had
creeped into that facility.
I think certainly amongst the players,
even some coaches, I think they got,
they became, you know,
well, I think they'd be completely
became complacent. So now let's talk about what happens over the next few days with UK football.
Let's just go around the room. Hard questions.
Do you expect... You're going to call us chicken if we don't answer it?
I'm going to yell at you. Chicken? We know he's not going to press us.
Do you expect Brad White to be here next year?
The job we all thought he might get is gone. I haven't followed it closely enough to know what options are still out there, but I did...
I was somewhat expecting him to be in that Florida State spot that's already been filled.
So I'm going to lean yes only because I don't know his options right now
because I was kind of watching that one thinking that was it.
So yes.
I'll lean yes because I thought if he would have a place,
he'd probably be already out the door by now,
although the only issue for me is...
We've got to go quicker.
We're not going to get through these.
Yes, all right.
Yes.
Yeah, I just kind of think the jobs are there right now.
I'm going to say no.
Do you think Vince Merrill will be here next year?
I'll say yes, but yesterday hurt my confidence level on that.
Yes, I'll answer like him.
I'll just pause for a long time.
I wonder what he was doing.
I was wondering what you were doing as well.
I say he will be here.
Stoops will do everything he can to keep him here, so yes.
Right.
Yeah, he's here.
All right, I'm going to say yes.
Percentage chance.
Oh, yeah.
Mark Stoops still ends up not here.
Wait, not here.
Not here.
leaves in other words
Pasadish chance he leaves
at this point
10 it's just
it's looking like it's
it's running it back
zero I mean
well maybe one in case he dies
but
sorry to kill him off
I mean to quote
it's very depressing and dark
you never know you don't want to make assumptions
Max that was
awful we're all day to quote Mark stoops
himself zero percent
I'm going to go zero
five
I'm going to go Tim
I think anything could happen.
You know, Cal and Mitch did an interview, and two days later he was doing.
You right, nothing's zero.
I mean, nothing really is zero ever.
Nothing is a one in the world.
How many coaching changes at the assistant coach positions, player, like, you know, positions?
Trying to run through some of my head.
The thing is, I have some I think should be done, but just the way he talks, I don't know if it's going to happen.
I'll say three.
That's a lot, though, okay?
The way he's talking, Wolford's back.
So I'm going to say, yeah, two or three.
I think there'll be a few more on defense than we normally say.
I'm going to go two, but the one that needs to be changed isn't going to get changed.
That's the offensive line.
So I'll say two.
I'm just going to say one.
I'm going to say two, and I do think Wolford comes back, which is unfortunate, I think, in terms for the fan base.
Which gets me to the debate that was held online.
There's a lot of people online that like to claim to speak for the entire fan base.
percentage of the fan base that you think would like to see a change next year.
Think about Twitter.
I'm going high, though.
I'm 70.
Okay.
As in stoop's out, what the fans would like?
Yeah.
I think it's probably 70, 75.
Yeah, I mean, if you read Twitter, but Twitter is not real life.
I think overall, probably it's closer to 55.
I was going to say 60.
Yeah.
I put it up on the bottom of that bridge page, and I ask people to look.
ask people comment. I looked last night it was about
60 would like a change
which I think is probably more representative
than Twitter but also
but who knows if it's completely represented
but that was that that's about
60 younger fans it's very
high older fans tend I think
to be more patient. They remember how we were
before how we were before so I think
it just depends on which
age of people you're talking are you here
to watch the show number five
all right we'll take a break very back
this KSR. We're back it
It's Kentucky Sports Radio here live in Carning, Nebraska.
The local sports director here for the radio station in Carney
just had somebody tell us we were coming through and came by to say hello.
I'm not going to hold against him that he's wearing a Wisconsin sweatshirt.
Do you not remember the 2015 game?
Like, you know, watch your step.
But besides that, that's very nice.
He said he wanted to come say hello, not even a Kentucky fan, right?
Very cool.
You know, he's the voice of the local high school team, I think he said here.
So, yeah, when to come and check out what we did.
Was Cunningham's a good pick for us last night?
Very good.
Well, we enjoyed it.
And I also like margaritas.
It got family and tradition.
Family and tradition.
That's a good combination.
We have some breaking news, Rick.
Yeah.
We got it.
I didn't know if he would know how to do it.
Wow, Rick coming through.
There you go.
DeKale Shorts, the wide receivers coach at Kentucky, is leaving to go to Nebraska.
Right.
We're here.
Come on.
We'll wait for you.
He's just coming to watch the show.
Is he going to be the next guy to walk in?
You know, you would know more about him than anyone.
So big loss, not a big loss.
What do you think?
Well, we just did the predictions.
He's the one coach I thought would probably definitely be gone.
Well, you were right.
Is that all you got?
I need some more from that.
I don't.
I mean, he's gone now, so he's not going to get mad at you.
What Dane say about him?
I don't know.
I just know, I don't think there was a good connection between him and the receivers.
Maybe that's the best way to put it.
Oh.
Well, that's a problem.
You want a connection between his coaches or receivers.
You want a coach to have a connection with his players.
You know, I think there was some guys really unhappy.
I think Macklin was really unhappy this year.
I think Berion was unhappy this year.
You know, Dane was probably unhappy this year.
So they weren't happy.
They weren't happy.
Well, then maybe it's good.
Although we change wide receiver coaches, you know,
like we change socks, it feels like.
That's my takeaway.
We talk about the OC changes all the time,
but the wide receiver office,
that flips about every year, too.
I think I just saw luck at tweet.
He was seven and 13 years.
He was the seventh wide receivers coach.
Wow.
Or who all we had.
We had the dude with the big personality.
What was his name?
Lamar Thomas.
Lamar Thomas.
We had the guy on the toilet.
We had the,
just got rid of Woody.
Just got rid of Scott Woodward.
What are you left for the man?
You know what I'm laughing about.
We had Booneight or Bo night.
Bow night.
We had Scott Woodward, we have this guy.
Who are the other two?
Can you name the other two Super Wide Receiver coaches?
What was the guy?
Maynard.
Tommy Maynard.
Oh, that's right.
Tommy Maynard was.
He was the first one with Neil Brown.
Yeah.
And what's the other one?
I think that's all.
All right.
Well, that was six.
He's hiring a seventh.
Okay.
Well, I don't know what you were laughing about, but.
I do know what you're laughing about.
Why are you laughing?
How do I turn this?
I'm trying to make it to where they won't.
Somehow it got turned where people can't reply to my post.
How do I do that?
How do I fix that?
What on Twitter?
Yeah, I mean, I know how to do it.
Elon's got you.
But now, like, they turn them on.
Right here where it says everyone can reply.
I know, but how to, but it's like the default is.
now people can't reply.
Ryan, you should go.
You need to click it and then you go to anybody can apply.
I know, but never mind.
But like now every time I tweet, I'm going to have to do that.
I don't know.
Anyway, that's sound like an old man.
How do I get to tweet?
Like before.
Do you fix my phone?
Just wait.
Just wait.
Pull up Hannity.
You can't figure out how to turn your TV on your calling your kids.
Hey, Fox News this morning.
Now, arguing about Twitter.
Alon's made it better.
I'm kidding.
Come on.
You all won.
You don't have to get mad at me.
Who's next?
Andrew is up next.
Andrew, go ahead, Andrew.
Yeah, I just wanted to ask Pat if he thinks that we can keep the punter that we have this season.
Who?
Ask who?
Pat McAfee.
Oh, no.
Oh, Pat.
Oh, wow.
I got to regret that one.
He called you, Pat.
We can blow him.
numbers, right? Is that right, Rick? We can send police to his house with an anonymous tip.
That would be much appreciated. You know, Max is not in his normal jovial mood. I think he was out
last night, his hair. He looks like he's, looks like he's not showered. This wasn't the day to
come at Max, I don't think. Yeah, leave me alone, please. Yes, we will keep Aidan LaRose.
Okay. I think the Australian will be moving on due to eligibility.
We will be. You're talking about who? LaRose will stay. Obviously, he's got one more year.
That's going to be important news.
Correct, very important.
He actually...
Is it worth...
Can we say that, like, it's up to you?
Can we say what?
You can say whatever you want.
It's your show.
I know, but this is your thing.
You were talking.
Is that news?
Are you presenting that as news?
Are you guessing?
Because I don't think he's announced he's going to come back.
Oh, I mean, I talked to him yesterday.
Where else he's going to go?
Okay, well, that's what I was wanting to say.
You talked to him in the car yesterday.
I just didn't know if you wanted to...
He could go back to South Africa if he wants.
I know lots of people want me to go back to Australia.
Max is walking around the Casey's gas station.
Who are you talking to?
Yeah, I mean, if you watch, okay, now that we've said it,
if you go and watch the video that Mario filmed
of my gas station review at QTs,
I wanted to have Max in it,
and he was taking a call from the UK punter
talking about coming back to Kentucky.
And so he gave us a look like,
stop filming me because I'm having a conversation.
That's all I'm saying.
Yeah, I mean, he wasn't talking about leaving.
He was just kind of running me through a few scenarios
of what he wanted to do and how he could get better and all those kind of things.
So he loves it.
He was always coming back.
Max is kind of the coach, the unofficial coach.
I thought it was very sweet the dude called Max for some fatherly advice yesterday.
I mean, South Africa and Australia are basically the same place.
So you.
Could you point him out on a map?
No.
You couldn't, Australia?
I feel like South Africa should be self-explanatory.
Go to Africa, go to the bottom.
You'll be there.
Who's next?
I have a joke about Max on all these punters, but he really is the punter whisper.
Everywhere we go.
Max, like, I know the punter here.
I know the punter here.
You know so many punters.
I do know the punter in Colorado State, so we can say hello while we're there.
Good night.
You know too many punters.
And Boise?
Who's next?
Binky is next.
Binky.
How are you Binky?
I'm good.
How are you guys doing today?
Doing amazing.
Yeah, I wanted to touch back on something you or somebody called in about who would, you know,
who would be the worst one to have dinner with.
Yes?
My choice would be you.
Whoa.
These are two.
Actually, I'm just teasing.
These are two back-to-back terrible calls.
Rick.
Oh, come on.
I'm just,
no, I'm just teasing.
The guy on ESPN is it Stephen Sharp,
the guy with the...
Stephen Sharp.
I went to school with Stephen Sharp.
I think you're saying Stephen A. Smith.
You're combining Stephen Smith,
the Chan and Sharpe.
Yeah, I'm sorry.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's the guy.
Yeah, that's the guy I'm talking about having the worst dinner with.
I can't stand that guy.
He's nothing but a bladder or a hot air.
Well, thank you for comparing to him.
So I was just kidding about that.
I appreciate to call.
Sorry, I mean, that's two back to one.
Now you need to call him blast these three guys.
Max and I are going to get it.
I'll go next.
After what he released earlier this year, if you went to dinner with Shannon's shop,
you could be in some trouble off to dinner.
That's very true.
That was quite a video as well.
Who's next?
Ed is up next.
Ed, go ahead, Ed.
Hey, Matt.
I got two comments.
One is, for the first time of 68 years, I couldn't watch the UK global game.
It was just too painful.
So you turned off a UK game for the first time in 68 years Saturday?
Yes.
Yes, I did.
I mean, it's been worse.
And.
Yeah.
Oh, but I've seen some good.
teams and it was kind of pathetic yeah you're i understand i kind of i get it to be honest with you sir
yeah and then uh the other comment is that these cat daddies are so good i'm confident of a
devil-digit win as another team gets ready to bite to us and we should play a little queen
every time i say that when i get on the one here let's get this rolling go cats appreciate it
he's called the basketball team the cat daddies is that their official name the cat daddies
According to that guy.
Kind of sounded a little dirty when he said.
Oh, not a grown man, cat daddy.
You know, what he says about he turned the game off, I'll be honest with you.
It might be the first game of the Mark Stoops era where I didn't really pay attention to much after about the second quarter.
It was over immediately.
I think I focused in when it was 20 to 7 and we got the ball and it looked like we might be able to do something.
And then we immediately turned it over.
But there was, I'm not sure there's been a UK football game, Ryan, in a long time.
I've paid less attention to than I did that Louisville game.
I guess this is our UK confessional.
I was at the game and left at halftime.
Well, so did everybody else.
Yeah, I could not stick around and watch that.
It is one of the, it is, even in the bad Joker years or whatever, like I had no expectation,
so it was just kind of part of the experience.
I was tuned out of that game against Louisville almost immediately.
I was there, so I had to be tuned in.
But to Ryan's point, at halftime, I went into the parking lot to talk to people that were leaving,
and it was just a flood walking out of that front gate towards Nicholson.
We all knew at that time.
One after another, the game was over.
People yelling about stoops and yelling we stink.
It was an ugly scene at halftime.
If you wanted to keep the fan base positive, it couldn't have been a worse result.
You're right about that.
In a lot of ways.
Let me tell you something, Max.
There's a new report from the Kentucky Chamber about the massive economic impact of housing in Kentucky.
Of course.
The housing industry not only drives economic growth, but it supports over 105,000 jobs statewide.
Certainly does.
And affordable housing remains a critical issue.
The report reviews reveals that every home-built Kentucky generates an average of three full-time jobs.
Yay.
But we'd like to hear from you about your perspective.
Visit kYchamber.com slash housing and tell us about the biggest housing issue in your community.
We'll come back our final segment here in Carney, Nebraska.
This is Kentucky Sports Radio on the road to Seattle.
Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind.
Highlights are trending, opinions are flying,
and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where Sports Slice comes in.
I'm Timbo.
Every episode, we're cutting through the noise.
Breaking down the plays, the controversies,
and the stories behind the headlines.
We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves.
Their locker room stories, their reactions,
the stuff nobody gets to hear.
The laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments,
that never make the highlight real.
From viral moments to historic games,
from buzzer beaters to controversial calls,
we break it down,
give you context,
and ask the questions
everybody wants answered.
SportsSlice brings you closer to the action
with stories told by the people who live them.

What's up, fam?
It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm CJ Toledano,
and our podcast Point Game is about defying
the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never
seen before. And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the
lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has
to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court, licking his fingers,
why he got the ball.
Like, after you go through a training camp with that, I said,
you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court,
and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app,

American soccer,
about to explode. The World Cup is coming.
Ramos sending on to Ernie Stewart for Chip.
I'm Tad Ramos. I'm Tom Bo. On our podcast, Inside American Soccer, you'll get the real
storylines. I'm not worried about Policic. I'm not worried about Balligan. I'm not worried
about McKinney. My only concern is what happens in the back. The biggest decisions.
If you're going to look at stats and numbers, he has no shot at making this World Cup team.
and the truth about the U.S. national team.
It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals
or potentially a great run into the semifinals.
The World Cup is almost here.
Experience it all with us.

There are times when the mind becomes a difficult place to live.
This is David Eagleman with the Inner Cosmos podcast,
and for Mental Health Awareness Month,
We're dedicating a series to understanding the mind when it struggles.
We'll talk with John Nelson about clinical depression
and the brain implant that saved his life.
What I learned is that procedure made me happy
because I'm disease-free.
And we'll talk with leading experts like Judd Brewer about anxiety
and John Hirschfield about obsessive-compulsive disorder
and the science of how the brain can change.
This is a month of deeply personal and honest conversations
about what happens when the brain goes off course
and what we can do about it.

I know we annoyed a lot of our listeners by our severe lack of survivor knowledge.
That is the point of the show.
I'm just going to remind you.
have watched some Survivor.
I obviously haven't watched enough.
Did people not like it?
Like what was...
Yeah.
Just because we...
Yeah.
We'll be recapping the big conclusion
of the 50th season from the final attempts at gameplay
to the desperate pleas of finalists
to a bunch of...
Ha, who.
Ah, ha, ooh.
Again, we are experts.

Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio. Final segment.
Sponsored by Corbred Hemp.
If you need to rest and relax, Corbred Hemp, you are telling me that Corbred Hemp now has celebrities besides me doing the ads.
They got the guy.
Cedric, the Entertainer.
I love him. Just quoted him.
They got the guy from whose line is it anyway. I don't know his name.
Old guy, yeah.
The ball guy.
And then they have what's their name from the office, the red-haired lady.
That shows her boobs.
Or, press.
Sorry, Mom.
It's all the same.
Meredith, yes, right?
Yeah, yeah.
So if you get on Instagram, you see all them, I thought we were their favorites,
but you can still go to cornbread hip.com.
Cedric the entertainer takes it.
You can too.
promo code KSR 30% off for your Christmas holidays.
Cornbread Hemp used it last night to sleep.
Mario, you might want to take like five of them if you want to sleep tonight.
I brought some.
All right, Mario, tonight in Fort Collins.
Yeah.
We're going to have a game watch party for all.
the people of Fort Collins.
What are you shaking your head for?
It's your turn.
You have to pick where it is.
I know the perfect place.
This is the perfect place in Fort Collins.
Yeah, it's called Gray Rock Sports Grill.
Gray Rock Sports Grill.
Okay.
So those of you in Fort Collins, we're going to be watching the game tonight at the Grey Rock
Sports Grill.
Come on out.
Have you told the Grey Rock Sports Grill we're coming?
I have not.
Okay, that should help.
We don't want to get there and not have a seat.
Do we know they have televisions?
42 television.
42.
Whoa.
All right.
We can get one on the Kentucky game.
It feels like they can get at least one.
Yeah.
All right.
Gray Rock Sports Grill tonight in Fort Collins, Colorado.
If you want to watch the game, Mario,
the Grey Rock Sports Grill better be good.
It's going to be good.
I'm confident.
All right.
I see something.
I'm not holding out of hope for the chicken wings.
Wait a minute.
This is the chicken wing at the Grey Rock Sports Grill.
That is not it.
I don't know where it's what's what Charles.
That's what Charles Potter said it looks like.
I'm looking at different pictures.
Okay.
That does not look like a great chicken.
wing right there. I'm going to back up
Mario here. Yes. I guess Noco.
Would that be northern Colorado? Yes.
Do you know what is one best sports bar
the last three years? 2021, 2021,
2022, 2023?
What? The Grey Rock Sports.
All right, there we go.
All right. Just don't get the chicken wings.
Tonight don't get the chicken wings.
All right.
Get back on here for a second, Max. I need you to pick games
with us. Mario, we'll see you tonight.
Well, actually, I'll see you in the car.
Here's just a few minutes.
Good riddance.
And not picking the Australian place.
All right. Let's do. We picked Kentucky Clemsons.
mother. The SEC ACC
Challenge starts tonight.
Really good games tomorrow night,
but some of the teams we follow tonight.
Let's get going. Tennessee host
Syracuse. Tennessee is an 18
and a half point favorite at home
hosting Syracuse.
Tennessee, and what a waste of a spot in this
tournament with having the number three team
play Syracuse.
It should be a better game. Yeah.
We just speaking a winner?
The orange Tennessee, obviously.
Yeah, Tennessee's going to dog walk.
three in the country. The Arkansas
Razorbacks
heard of them are going to Miami
to play the hurricanes. Miami has not
been good this year. Miami is
a five and a half, excuse me, Arkansas
is a five and a half point favorite on
the road? Does Cal get a
road win after starting with a couple
losses? Miami has lost
three straight games, including losing to
Charleston Southern. If Arkansas
doesn't win this, I'm
putting his name in search and watching the replies
coming out of Arkansas, but I'll pick them. They've got
to win it. Miami's three and four.
With bad losses. Miami plays zone.
I don't think Arkansas has had a chance to work on that yet.
So I'll take Miami.
Oh, you're taking Miami.
Yeah, I think I've got to take Arkansas as much as I'd like to take Miami.
Arkansas wins.
Cal's teams, they do, they struggle at home, and they go on the road and they beat somebody,
so they're going to win this.
All right, Arkansas.
And then I think the game of the night besides Kentucky Clemson,
Ole Miss, 23 in the country,
it's going on the road to play the Louisville Cardinals.
Louisville hosting a ranked team.
Louisville did well down in the Bahamas.
Now they lost that guy.
The dude I said, look at Pete Davidson, Prior.
He's out for the year.
Louisville's a three and a half point favorite at home against Old Miss.
I've watched Louisville play one time, and Prior look good.
I even compliment him on the radio.
He never said anything nice about Louisville.
I think that'll be a big loss for them, so I'll take Old Miss.
He was very good in the game I watched.
Louisville will look a lot more organized than the team photo earlier this year,
so I'll take Louisville.
I mean, Louisville looked great against Indiana.
We're up, I think, almost 40 at one point.
but I think losing Pryor is going to hurt them.
Ole Miss wins this game on the road.
I'm going to take Louisville.
I think they're better than we thought they were.
I think they're pretty good team.
This is tough because I think Ole Miss is better, but Louisville's at home.
Do you think they fill this game up?
Like, they have not filled anything up yet.
This is a ranked team at home.
Pack Kelsey's.
Coming off a good tournament.
Like, are they not going to fill it up?
I know they just beat Kentucky in football, so it sounds dumb to say now,
but I genuinely think they're permanently broken.
As far as what it was before the big, you know, crazy scene.
That's my biggest thing.
Whoever wins, if you can't fill that game up for a ranked team at home on a weeknight,
then you're not Louisville basketball anymore.
You're just not.
You've got to fill that up.
Be Louisville.
Shouldn't be like Clemson where we're coming and there's tickets for $20.
You got to fill that up.
Who's next?
Little John is next.
Little John, who we're playing in Little John Coliseum tonight.
What's next?
Right.
Well, I just want to let you know that arena's not named after me.
I have no affiliation with all with Clemson at all.
I believe blue all the way through.
The only thing good ever come out of Clemson basketball is Tree Rollins and Larry Namp, Kentucky by double-digit tonight.
All right.
Appreciate the call.
You know, we went to Iowa.
We didn't talk about this.
We went to Iowa University yesterday.
Saw the spot where Caitlin Clark hit the shot that broke the NCAA record.
We all shot from it.
Nobody made it except Drew on like the fifth, the fifth, the fifth trial.
There's no video evidence, though.
There's no video evidence.
But I was surprised how many famous people had gone to Iowa.
A.C. Earl, Luke, Jepson, BJ Armstrong.
We got to see all the big names.
Brad Lohas.
Brad Lohas, yeah.
So we went in their locker room and saw their little lounge area, and it was kind of, it was nice.
I was impressed with me.
It was cool to be in a different arena, yeah.
I really enjoyed that.
I've never had any connection to Iowa, never thought much about it.
But just seeing how another school does it, obviously wasn't as big as Kentucky's basketball stuff.
But, I mean, it was a nice place.
It was.
behind the scenes.
Alcatore has the slubbering hog.
Yesterday, Ryan's tongue seemed like was like the slubbering hog got down that colloquy.
My Caitlin Clark attempt, yes.
Yeah, you were not good.
I mean, my wrist is still not healed that I shot better than you.
You were awful.
I hit the rim.
Yeah, I think I realized that the basketball career is over for me.
Like it just, I finally sinked in.
Well, it's just that I, you know, since the wrist, it's right there and I can't, I hope I'm able to play.
golf that's my worry now because like when I shot a basketball it wasn't the same I could tell
you know normally it's it's string music and guitar we can get you in the ymca league
sure they could pick you up what was the basketball career doing pretty good pretty good
I mean it was going well a lot of you were an all-American clapper middlesbrough high school
yeah but I mean I was like you know I didn't tell you all when I played it was kind of on the side
oh you're sneaking off in a rec league sometimes you know going off on the side and playing I mean I
don't have to tell you where I go and pick up ball all right so tonight uh our pre-season
game show is at 7 o'clock Eastern. We will do it from our house in Windsor.
All right.
And then we will drive to Fort Collins to watch the game.
So our house in Windsor, 7 o'clock Eastern, 5 o'clock our time.
But we will be here on WLAP 7 o'clock for the cats tonight.
Like I said, Clemson is a tough environment to play in, but I don't think they're the
Clemson team they've had of years past.
And it will be a rare post game show with all of us.
From a hot time.
It will be, and there is a hot tub.
And if we win, we may do the postgame show in the hot tub.
I'll be in it naked.
Okay, wait on it.
This show is after midnight.
We don't need that.
There is a child sitting over there.
Will you please?
Who doesn't care?
Yeah, no.
I care for humanity.
Thank you all very much for making the trip here.
We really appreciate it.
And thank you to Candlewood Suites for hosting us.
We'll see you tonight from Windsor and Fort Collins.

Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman

This week, my guest, S&L's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where SportsSlice comes in.
I'm Timbo, and every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments
in sports and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves.
Their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment, and the stuff nobody gets to hear.

podcast point game, the playoffs. We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season. And I'm looking
back on some of my greatest playoff moments. If we didn't talk ever again, I was calling it.
You just understood. That's how personal it got. Wow. Then after that game seven, Marquis
he's like, you know I love you, dog. You know, it's all love. This was just playoffs. This was just
basketball. So listen to Point Game on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your

Just a little bit bigger hips.
