Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue 42.
A rep.
My mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Where's he at?
Hey, Miss Parker.

And I'm C.J. Toledano.
It's our favorite time of the year on our podcast point game, the playoffs.
We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season.
And I'm looking back on some of my greatest playoff moments.
If we didn't talk ever again, I was harmed.
You just understood.
That's how personal it got.
Wow.
Then after that game seven, Mark keep coming to, he's like, you know, I love you, dog.
You know, it's all love.
This was just playoffs.
This was just basketball.
So listen to Point Game on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Your 20s can be so exciting, but they can also be really overwhelming, confusing, and honestly, just kind of lonely.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and the psychology of your 20s is breaking down the science behind the biggest roadblocks we face.
I was six years into my career, the 80-hour weeks, and just the first one in, the last one out, and I ended up burning out.
There was a large chunk of my 20s that I, like, was just so wanting to, like, be out of that phase out of my skin.
And I just, like, really regret not living in the present more.
You don't need to have everything figured out right now.
You just need to understand yourself a little bit better.
Listen to the psychology of your 20s on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Welcome back hour number two here in Windsor, Colorado.
veil tonight.
They still haven't approved our house yet.
I don't know.
It could be an issue.
Yeah, well, hopefully we'll get it here soon.
Are you worried they're not going to let us in?
Yes.
I bet they've got hotels.
They got a lot of hotels.
Yeah, we'll find something.
I mean, we're not going to know.
Are we going to Vail during skiing season?
This is apparently skiing season, so this could, in theory, be a busy time.
Can any of you guys ski?
No.
No?
No.
No.
No.
No.
No.
No.
No.
No.
No.
I'll never attempted.
I'll, I'll say no, but I don't know.
I can kind of ski.
Are you good at it?
No, but I can stay up on my feet for a while.
I am not good at all.
I tried once.
It does not work for me.
Let's talk about a couple stories, and then I want to tell the Mac's story here for a second.
First of all, this is a crazy story this morning.
The CEO of United Healthcare, which is one of the major insurance companies in America,
was walking into the investor meeting today, where they give earnings and all that,
and he was just shot down and killed on the street.
Wow.
And they say it was a targeted attack.
It wasn't random violence.
There was somebody that had been waiting there for him to walk in and killed him.
In New York City, you know, for all the thing about, oh, New York's dangerous,
it's usually, like, you don't get just randomly shot in New York.
So he was clearly targeted.
That's weird.
Like, right?
Like, I mean, it could be, my initial reaction.
is, I'm just going to guess.
But when they find out who did it, I'm going to guess,
just complete guess.
It's somebody who had a family member get turned down
for some kind of insurance.
That's the only part.
Because who else would hate an insurance CEO?
Sounds like a plot out of a movie or something.
It does.
Like, it sounds like a movie.
Somebody's upset that their mother doesn't get covered for something.
And then, like, what do you think?
That could be one.
I mean, just nature of insurance.
That guy probably had a lot of enemies.
Like you said, could be anyone that had a, you know,
that felt wronged by his company,
but just to be walking out early in the morning,
about to give a presentation.
Times Square Hill,
which if you've ever been to,
is a very well-trafficked hotel.
That's where our halal card is,
right in front of it.
Yes, it's right in front of it.
It was right down the street from NBC and 30 Rock and all that.
It's one of the business areas in town right now with Christmas going on.
Yes, it is.
It's scary, man.
So that's a crazy story.
Yeah,
it is.
A more happy story,
at least for Shannon,
they're bringing Chi Chi Chi-Chi's
back. Yes. I have been talking about this for 20 plus years. Finally, it's happening, according to CNN.
Yes. You kept citing random websites yesterday. Well, I thought business insider.
It wasn't business. That's actually a real website.com. It was like restaurant space.com.
Yeah. But it's exciting. It's coming back. And I'd like to think Max and the Aussies were keeping the good name of Chi-Chi's alive because Outback bought Chee-Chi's.
Oh, it's Outback bought. How many years ago. They kept
you know, the name going.
Remember when I was in Luxembourg, I saw one.
Yeah.
And I actually ate there for you.
Yeah.
I think Luxembourg may have been what kept it going.
Chee-Cis is really the greatest place on earth.
I mean, it was when it was open anyway.
And it's about to be again.
And we had better get a location in Kentucky because wherever that first one is,
that's where we're going on a road trip.
I was going to say, you read my mind.
Wherever they open the first one in America,
I will take you on our summer road trip, assuming it's already open by then.
That'll be where we go.
Even if it's in Pennsylvania.
We're going to run it back.
Pennsylvania. We'll go back to, have you ever had Chi-Chi's?
No, I don't know.
Oh, you don't know.
Oh, yes. I mean, it is happiness in your mouth.
It is. It's a happiness in your mouth.
What's the order?
What's your order?
Oh, you get to get anything.
Stick fajitas, the Chavez, the fried ice cream?
You have to go back a second, Max.
They answer your question.
You know, now there's a Mexican restaurant on every corner.
And they're all like...
Chi-Chi's knockoffs.
You know, right?
They're all like,
Baraanza or Taco
Face. I mean, they're
everywhere. But when we were kids,
that wasn't true. I mean,
there weren't Mexican restaurants in every
town. Tumbleweed and Chi-Chi's.
Tumbleweed was American.
Really. So Chi-Chi's was where we
felt like we were going to Mexico.
Now, of course, it wasn't anything
like Mexico. It was like
sombreros and it was
ridiculous. Founded in Minnesota.
Yeah, but when we, but at the time,
at the time, it
felt like exotic food when you were from a small town to go to Chi-Chi's was like leaving America.
And so I think those of us that age have some nostalgia for it.
Well, that sounds pretty good to me.
Look, I'm going to have Kangaroo with you today.
You're going to have them Cheechis for me.
You know how kids growing up, they put like their school pictures and you can see how they grow?
Yeah.
I had a wall of sombrero birthday pictures.
We went to Chi-Chi's every year and you could just watch me get older with the sombrero on my head.
It was likely somewhat racist in hindsight, but they would basically.
Basically, when you would go there, if it was your birthday, they would give you a sombrero, they would come out with the, what do you call those?
Maracas.
Maracas.
And they would like, and everybody would dance and sing.
Jimmy chonga.
And yes, they would chip, Jimmy chonga.
These days, they would just give you a sombrero, your taco, and your deportation letter.
Yeah, we're not quite as open on this stuff.
But for us, it was a big deal.
Yes.
It was a big deal.
And I'm going to tell you something, if I don't get the endorsement for Chi-Chi's,
no.
You deserve.
I mean, come on.
You should be at the ribbon cutting.
Yes.
I know Drew and I would go to Evansville.
It's an hour drive.
Where would you go?
Lexington, the one next to where Lexington Green is.
Yeah.
There was one right there out in front, right?
You guys know there was one out there in front of Lexington Green.
We'd go to Joseph Beth and Chee-Ce-Ce's.
And then South Park movie theater was across the street, and you were like, this is living right here.
Chee-chis, for me, there was, and 20.
of us was across the street, right?
So you had Chi-Chi's, everybody, everybody, you guys with these Lexington connections.
No, you had Chi-Chi's and Joseph Beth on one side.
Yeah.
You had Toys R Us and South Park movie theater right there.
And that was like, that was heaven when you were from Middlesbrough that trip to Lexington.
A blockbuster?
We didn't rent movies in Lexington and take them back to Middlesbrough.
I mean, that was, you know, and then you go to the mall.
They had the video game store right there in Fayette Mall.
I mean, Nicholsville Road at that point, that little juncture,
might as well have been Christmas every day for someone like me.
It was like Tom Square.
I'm trying to think.
Was it where the Arby's is now?
Is that where it was?
Yeah, it was right there.
The Cheechis is right next to Nicholsville Road.
Okay.
So it's where that gas station is right now.
There's a shell there.
There's a shell there. That's where it was.
Right there.
If Cheechis can come back, I think we have hope for everything.
Anything that's been gone, I'm going to.
I'm with you.
Bring it all back.
Kodak, whatever you want.
Just bring it.
CEMAs.
Zima.
Circuit City was great.
Yeah, that's a good question.
What businesses like that would you like to see?
I loved Circuit City.
I did too.
Service merchandise, I've talked about.
It was a state of the art.
You would pick the thing, and then you would go back in the back, and there would be a guiding.
Hand you a box, and there it was.
Service merchandise.
There was a restaurant.
Rose's a restaurant called Lone Star in Australia where you used to be able to eat the peanuts, throw it on the ground.
First of all, we had that until recently.
And then COVID, they stopped letting you eat the.
I love throwing the peanuts on the ground.
I felt like I get to trash this place and it's cool.
In Australia, I believe someone slipped on the shells and got hurt, therefore they all had to close down.
Oh, that's too bad.
Yeah, Lone Star was great, Western Sizzling.
Western Sondrosa with that great salad bar.
I was more of a bonanza guy.
Bonanza.
Well, that was fun.
All right, so let's talk about yesterday.
Everywhere we go, when we eat, Drew Films Like a Little Review.
Shannon reviews the hotels.
My thing is I was like, I like gas stations.
You know, I like to drive.
I've been to a million gas stations.
I always try to, as I said to Max, find one with Panash.
Yep.
That's the word I use.
I don't want to go to just a regular.
I like Panash.
Yesterday we were in some town.
Briggs style.
No, it was like.
Oh, you made a region of right.
We were in a town.
We looked at it.
I didn't see a gas station that I felt gave me the vibes.
Yeah.
So I was like, let's just drive to the next town.
we get to a sign it says next fuel stop 60 miles away we had 84 miles worth of gas left
according to my thing i said let's go yeah room for you turns yeah that's exactly right
we're in the middle of absolutely nowhere and you get scared you're always worried something bad
is going to happen we get stranded out there somewhere have we ever lost if we didn't run our gas
before did you not believe the sign that said 60 miles i didn't believe we were going to have 84 miles of gas
we did though but we pulled it out of there's going to have 84 miles of gas we did though but we pulled
but we have one choice and it's like the Briggsdale pumping shop.
So I don't know how many of you big to Briggsdale, Colorado.
You said it was just like a bump in the road, right?
One gas station.
We walk in, we do the review.
Mario and I walk in.
It was perfectly nice people.
Shannon is you're using the bathroom with the door open, which I didn't understand.
More the merrier.
I want in.
Just really excited about you.
There was a woman standing on top of the draper.
cooler, which was unique.
On a ladder. On a ladder. There was
cooking sloppy joes. I thought
it was good. There were six to eight
Trump flags out front.
Yes. The guy
working out on the counter had a shirt that said
like, you show me your gun. I'll show you
try this in a small town. Try this in a small town.
So you know where you are. I'm good in these
places, right? It's your people.
Well, it's not
what I believe, but I've been around these people
my whole life. I'm good. So we do our
thing. For reasons I don't know after we do this,
Max and Mario decide to go in, start causing trouble.
We're already back in the car.
We're back in the car.
We're ready to leave.
Like, what's taking these two so long?
What are Max and Mario doing?
I mean, what are these two doing?
Are they trying to try this in a small town?
Is that what they're trying to do?
Max, I'll let you take it from that.
Do I need my attorney present, or am I just good to speak openly about this?
You can speak open.
Well, first of all, me and Mario thought that you guys had just forgotten us because you just drove off.
And we looked at the DJ Waggoners halfway down the road.
But I turned around at one point, and Mario was inches from this guy's face.
And he was speaking in the calm tone that's almost too calm.
He got too close to Mario's face.
I think that's fair to say.
Like he'd done all this.
He'd done this confrontation before, and he just wanted to lay the law down a little bit.
And basically he said, look, there's been a lot of trouble in this Briggsdale town,
which you could imagine.
I mean, it's a thriving metropolitan.
And he said, there might be 50 people that live there.
He said there's been a lot of trouble.
A lot of trouble in this town, and particularly they all target the gas station.
And with you guys taking the video on this gas station, it's just going to give them a blueprint.
Which, Drew said, I mean, they could just walk in if they wanted to see it.
They have to rely on our video.
This isn't a bank.
He said basically you're giving them the blueprint on how to rob us.
And he said, I'm going to give you one morning.
If I see this video go out and someone comes in and robs this place in the next day or two, that ain't going to be good for you.
He said there's going to be trouble.
It's going to be trouble.
So here's what I'm going to ask.
Mario went ahead and put the video out.
Please nobody robbed that point.
Do us a solid.
Just help us out.
They seem like they might own guns.
I feel like, Shannon, let's just all be good.
Yeah.
Why would you want to rob that place?
First of all, crime.
Don't.
These are nice people.
They're just selling slops.
Loppy Joe's.
It's not that big a place.
And I don't want Max specifically, because really it would be his fault.
I don't want him to go down.
But he gave him the blueprint, though.
That's what I don't understand.
I mean, isn't every cast station the same?
You got the aisles, you got the chips, you got the beef jerky, you got the nerd coming
clusters.
It's all the same.
Yeah, the woman on the cooler.
That was my favorite part of the video.
Matt goes, oh, you're up there.
You go up there often?
It was an most awkward thing to say.
I think they were mad.
They thought we were OSHA.
walking in to check on their way.
You know, I thought, I'm going to say something to this woman.
And then I got up there, Shannon.
And then nothing to say.
I just said, do you go up there often?
Good pick up life.
I wasn't trying to pick her up.
But if I was, that wouldn't have been what you said.
So you go up on top of the drink?
Yeah, she clearly did not want any part of the video either.
Those gloves that looked like they'd been used.
Yeah, they were selling gloves that were pre-dirty, which I thought was good for.
We're called distressed.
Yeah.
For the jeans.
Your wife goes, where were you?
Yeah.
And you were like, I was working in the dirt.
But you weren't.
You could just buy the dirty gloves.
And you would already have an excuse.
This place was so small, and they're talking about the blueprint getting out.
Like Daniel Ocean's coming in.
This is the Belagio of Colorado.
We're going to give away all the secrets of where the lasers and security cameras are.
It was a tiny place.
And the guy behind us at the gas pump, he got all excited, right?
He's one of you guys, he said, are you guys all bloggers?
Oh, he came up to me.
He goes, hey, man, he was driving this huge piece of machinery.
He's like, hey, you guys bloggers?
I was like, yes, we are.
He thought it was the coolest thing.
Yeah, but I think I may have found the,
perpetrator because there was one guy that was coming in that was just staying away from the camera.
Like he wanted to get behind it and wanted to get involved. So that might be the suspect.
So do us a favor. Be nice if you happen to be in Briggsdale, Colorado, which probably none of you will today.
But if you are, go in, say hi to him, buy some dirty gloves. Get closer to $5.
It'll be right. Club Blue is the official partner of UK athletics. Big announcement, Ryan.
Today, what is it? They are releasing their new UK NIL bourbon from bespoken spirit.
White label is Kentucky's high rye barrel-aged bourbon whiskey.
Blue label is a small batch, Kentucky straight high-ri bourbon.
The proceeds go to NIL.
It is being released today.
It is at KS. Barr for the next three weeks.
Nice.
The first place it will be.
But you also can buy, I believe it will be at Liquor Barn.
Every purchase goes to Kentucky NIL.
You can buy one today and support Club Blue.
You can find more.
It's called Club Blue Bourbon.
And we have it starting today at KIA.
I've had it.
You know who picked it out?
We were at the tasting.
He'll pick out the flavor.
We decided which would be the club blue bourbon.
Wait a bit, so it's youralls.
Well, I mean, there are other people there, but Ryan and I were a part of the panel.
Yeah.
And so you picked the flavor.
We all sample.
A big group of us.
So if it's not good, can people blame you?
It's good.
It's really good.
All right.
Well, we have it at KSpar.
We'll be the exclusive partner through Christmas, and then, but you can buy retail at liquor bar.
It's good stuff.
It is good stuff.
We will take a break and be right back.

Hey.
And we have been joined at the Hips since high school.
Absolutely.
Now a redacted amount of years later, we're still joined at the hip.
Just a little bit bigger hips, wider.
This is a podcast.
We're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my Honda Odyssey.
With all the snacks and drink.
Sidebar.
Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer?
Oh, they had a bogo.
Well, then you got it.
Do you want a white color or something here?
Just hit it.
Oh, what are y'all doing?
Microphones?
Are you making a rap album?
Oh, I would.
Come on.
Can you move?
I would buy it.
Cuts through the defense like a hot knife through sponge cake.
That sounds delicious.
Oh, you're lucky.
I'm not a drug addict.
You're lucky I'm not an alcoholic.
You are.
I'm lucky I'm not a killer.
I love this team, and I'm really trying to be a figure in their lives that they can rely on.
Oh.
Oh.

What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows.
Without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the game.
challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the
lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court licking his fingers while he got the ball.
Like, after you go through a training camp with that, I said,
you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court,
and you're going to get the ball.

The biggest decisions.
If you're going to look at stats and numbers,
he has no shot at making this World Cup team.
And the truth about the U.S. national team.
It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals

Yeah.
Still nothing from the people who own it. So hopefully we can get out of here unscathed.
This has been a very deviant part of the trip here between.
I was worried about you releasing our address.
Well, I didn't just tweet it out.
Some restaurants. People say they wish we'd come back.
Max and Irma's.
Oh, yeah.
Max and Irma.
Good stuff.
Daryls.
Daryls was over by that Cheechees.
There was.
Run across the street from the Chee Chee's there in Lexington.
Yes.
Morrison's cafeteria.
Also in there.
Wasn't that in there, too?
Was it?
I think it was in Lexington Green as well, Morrison's cafeteria.
Well, staying in Lexington Green, can Tony Romas come back?
Tony Romis, where you used to work.
That's when I started at KSR.
I was carrying ribs to tables when I wasn't blogging.
772-745-254.
If you have some of those, Shannon's Circuit City still exist,
It's just an online only store.
Really?
I had no idea.
I had no idea about that either.
Did you know there was an online circuit city?
No, but now I kind of want to go just buy something random just to support Circuit City so they don't go completely under.
One person writes, Matt, you talked about Lexington Green back then.
Gives me flashbacks to my childhood.
That was the best when you were that age.
What was the name of the Chinese place?
The first Chinese place in Lexington.
See, it must be even before I got there.
Because I don't remember the...
Come on.
What is it?
It was a chain.
It was a chain.
It was on Nicholsville Road.
Yeah.
It was down there close to Southland.
Oh, somebody's going to tell me this.
Hunans.
That's it.
Hoonans.
That's a chain, too, right?
Hunans.
That was like the far.
That was like the Chi-Chi's of Chinese restaurant.
Hunans.
That's exactly right.
My mom always would want to go to Hunans.
I didn't get to do the Hunans experience, but certainly a lot of Chee-Chi's and Daryls.
I do kind of like just mentioning places we used to eat when we were a kid.
The nostalgia.
The nostalgia part.
Who's next?
Got Daniel up next.
Daniel, go ahead, Daniel.
Daniel.
All right, no Daniel.
Who's next?
Let's try John.
John, go ahead, John.
Surprisingly, I find myself a Blue Devil fan today.
Are you rooting for Duke against Auburn tonight?
I think so.
I think we need something to make our victory a little more.
solid. Well, we'll still play
Auburn later in the year. So, I mean,
we're going to play, same with North Carolina,
Alabama. Well, actually, we don't play North
Carolina. So we kind of won Alabama to beat North
Carolina. With Auburn, if they beat Duke,
we'll still have a chance to beat them as well.
Yeah, true.
And we have
at home, right? Do we play at home? I'm not sure.
Have y'all seen Malichael
Moreeo play? He's coming to Louisville. Plays
later on. I don't think of him a ride out there.
Is he a street?
As Ryan, what do you think of, yeah, what do you appreciate the call?
What do you think of Malachi Moreno?
You've seen him, I know a number.
I've seen since he was in like the sixth grade.
He is really improved.
I mean, he's now developed into where he's obviously one of the best big men in the country.
But he's a kid is going to get better and better and better as he gets stronger and stronger and stronger.
I think he's got a big ceiling.
You have followed both those Kentucky kids that committed to Kentucky,
Malachi Marino and Jasper Johnson.
You've been following because they're basically your son's age as my son.
And you've been watching them since they were little kids.
And I think you were skeptical.
if it's fair to say on both of them being UK players early,
but you've kind of turned on both of them as in a positive one.
100%.
Yeah, and there's no doubt about it.
Both of them have become major college basketball prospects
because they work so hard at it.
I mean, Jasper, he was dominating as a sixth grader,
but by the time he got to high school,
he just became a different player, man.
He just really took off.
You think they both are Kentucky-level players?
Yes, no doubt.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
And I don't want to be disrespectful.
They're better than Travis and Trent.
Is that right?
Yeah.
Why?
They just can have more skills.
Do you, there are some people who are saying, Drew, maybe if Kerr is playing as poorly as he did,
you give Travis Perry a run.
What do you think about that?
I don't know if that would have been the environment.
I mean, Travis looked like he even struggling.
He was getting in the mop-up minutes early.
I think Kerr's better than he showed last night.
Now, if we continue to see more of the same, you got to do something different.
But I'm hopeful last night was just as bad as we're going to see from him,
because he has been better in other games.
He's played.
He's had great games at Arizona.
He's had great games at West Virginia.
He's played a lot of college basketball
look better than he did last night.
But if it continues, they need to make a change.
It's a good thing about having 30-odd games is you get to find out little things as you go along.
He gets put guys out there like Kerr got 21 minutes last night.
And it's like, well, maybe we learn a little bit.
Maybe we don't give him as much.
And same thing with William, same thing with everyone.
I mean, Jackson Robinson last night, much improved.
So just little things along the way that he can tinker with the lineup.
He's smart.
We'll figure it out.
Let me give you one thing about the portal that was switching to football for a second.
The portal actually doesn't open until next week, just for the ninth.
So when you see people say they're entering the portal, they really haven't done anything yet.
They lost Kishan Silver yesterday, Kentucky football.
One service had him as a five-star at one point.
He's played some.
He definitely was one of the most talented returning pieces.
But there were also a lot of talk.
He didn't play a lot.
There was also a lot of talk that some of the locker room issues that were talked about.
He was kind of part of that.
What were your thoughts about him leaving?
I thought he was going to be the next big superstar on the defensive line for Kentucky.
I really did.
But he didn't play this year really.
Didn't play much.
And when he did play, he was kind of non-existent a lot of time it seemed like.
So, yeah.
With the commits, the amount of commits we had today, there's going to be more guys in the next week that put up a graphic saying, with that being said, I'm in the portal.
So you call those with that being said.
I hate that saying.
And my kicker from Murray
message me and sent me his graphic
And I said, can we get rid of the
With that being said
Because I don't know how I was to put it
I love Kentucky
I love BBN
You all are great
It's been an amazing experience
But with that being said
I'm crazy
You don't like the with that being said
I don't
It's like you're getting broken up with
From your girlfriend
And she tells you you're great
And you're awesome
And I enjoy the time
But I'm gonna try on my other options
Those graphics always use
The wrong part of
The wrong version
Of the word apart
They always say
Thank you to let me be
a part of this. I say 99 times out of 100, they use the wrong version of that.
A part? A part? And they put it together? Yes. And you don't like that.
Look at any graphic ever put out. What an interesting thing for you to focus on?
A little pet peeve of these graphics. They use the wrong of part.
My man is a grammar Nazi.
Three English 101's man. I look for this stuff.
But he is leaving so they are apart. I mean, you pass it the third time.
I'm basically a professor. It sticks out to me.
I just want somebody to say I'm leaving and not even say anything good about
where they were.
Because obviously it wasn't that great
if you would have stayed, right?
100% agree.
So we don't need it.
We don't need to make some of the truth.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It couldn't have been excellent or you wouldn't
you'd be here.
Yeah.
They also lost our backup long snaper.
Thoughts.
Hey,
Caz.
Whoa.
Whoa.
Whoa.
All right.
There you go.
We'll take a break and be my back.
It's our wow.
Wow.
Welcome back.
It is Kentucky Sports Radio.
People love writing in old chains.
There are old restaurants in Lexington.
DeShays.
That was a staple,
especially when I first moved here in the late 90s,
right there at the corner of Main Street, downtown Broadway.
When you ate at Deshaes, you felt like it was a thing.
Absolutely.
I think my 21st birthday party,
the one my parents put on,
I think was at Deschase.
After a big KSR meeting with all the interns and new hires,
we took them to DeShays.
We hired the last time I went there.
Our first big KSR, let's have a state of the program meeting,
was in DeShays.
I really felt like I was like
Spend I felt like I was opening the bank account when I took us all the D'Shea's the one time
Yes
That second floor was where Bravo Petino's restaurant was right above Dechase
That was a place to be me
Dishockey
Oh that's a good one
I worked at Sam Goody's a bit of rivalry there's that rap song
We get the CD from Sam Goody
Now they don't even have any of those things
I think F was it FYE
Yep that's another one that's still open
Is it but they don't they sell records and stuff now
So it's almost like it's a record store from the 70s or something.
Like a traditional thing.
Yeah, yeah.
Po folks.
I don't remember that.
I don't remember that either.
What is poe folks?
It's a restaurant?
I don't know.
Maybe so.
Kenny Rogers Roasters.
Are those still around?
They had a whole Seinfeld episode.
There used to be one on Richmond Road, I remember.
Jerry's.
Jerry's.
There's still one open in Paris, Paris, Kentucky.
I think it's like the last one there is.
Is it?
Yes.
So there you go.
A lot of good.
Did you have a Jerry's?
Middlesboro?
Oh, yes.
We hated Jerry's a lot.
Yeah.
Our friend Dewey like Jerry.
So we would go to Jerry.
Dewey seems like he's a big Jerry.
You would have loved Dewey.
Dewey was MAGA before it was cool.
Dewey was the friend how I knew Rush Limbaugh existed.
Dewey would come in rant about Bill Clinton and Jennifer Flowers in 1992 before that was a thing.
So I rest in peace to Dewey.
Who's up next?
Daniel is up next.
Daniel, go ahead, Daniel.
Yes, good afternoon or good morning, actually.
I just add one restaurant to your list, and that's G.D. Ritzis.
I don't know if you remember that or not.
Great hamburgers.
Great burgers.
I think it's still in Evansville.
Yeah, I don't know that one.
That was an Evansville thing?
Like a little diner with the shoestring fries.
I think they had one in Lexington.
Right.
Did they?
Yeah.
Yeah, it was on Harrisburg Road, Broadway area.
The question I have for you is, what kind of vehicle are you guys driving on this road
trip?
We have a Jeep Wagoner.
We have a Jeep Wagoner, and it's big.
I think it's been a successful car,
Knock on Wood, so far, don't you agree?
That was my biggest concern of the whole trip.
As soon as we got to your house and saw the car, it was a relief.
Everything fits pretty comfortable.
The Jeep Wagoner has been very good so far, knock on wood.
We've still got a long way to go.
DJ Wagoner.
Very good.
Thank you.
Appreciate the call.
Do you feel good or bad about the game Saturday against Gonzagel?
I feel no different after that lost last night.
different at all. I still feel this team is really, really good. It was an off shooting night.
We didn't handle the physicality very well, but in the big stage of Gonzaga, I think they'll
probably step up and play well. I don't feel great about it.
I just being honest with you. I mean, the same team that beat Baylor by 40 points.
They did, but they lost to West Virginia and we're down almost the whole game.
That's right. Yeah, I mean, they're not unbeatable, but again, you're going on the road.
It's all the way across country. It's going to be a tough atmosphere for them.
I'm looking forward to the adjustments that Mark Polk makes and just see what he brings to the game.
that's a little bit different from the Clemson game,
maybe a lot more threes,
maybe a little bit more movement, less dribbling.
I'm hoping because they haven't been shooting well.
You know there's going to be a night
where they just shoot somebody out of the gym.
I'm hoping it hits while we're in Seattle.
That's going to happen sometime.
But really, you can only grade them off your own kind of expectations,
and I thought they'd go one and two against Duke, Clemson, Gonzaga.
They're one-on-one.
Yeah, they've already surprises with Duke,
so even though I don't want to go 0-2 this week,
at least where I thought they'd be, it's still kind of house money.
I mean, we all thought we were going to lose the Duke.
So we can't lose track of the fact that we beat Duke.
True. I mean, I think that is an important thing to remember.
And we'd said, really, we would all be happy if they just split games this week, I think, you know, go one-on-one this week.
Were you surprised to see that the playoff committee ranked Alabama ahead of Miami?
Three-loss SEC team over a two-loss ACC team.
ACC people are livid about it.
If Clemson beats – or excuse me, if SMU beats Clemson, Bama's into playoff, and I would argue if Clemson beats SMU, they might still be.
be in the playoff.
Do you think Bama should sneak in again for the second straight year?
I think so.
I mean, Miami's been good, but man, in that conference, you just don't get many good wins.
It's like they play a different sport, and I think we're going to see what we saw last year
where we get a bunch of whining from the ACC, and everybody else just moves on without them.
Unfortunately, we didn't see it in our game against Louisville, but there's a massive difference
between SEC and ACC, particularly in the top five or six teams.
Alabama deserves to be in there.
Now, whether they're a really, really good team this year, who knows, but they deserve to be in the top 12.
In the projected playoff, Shannon, they have Tennessee, Ohio State first round in Columbus.
Wow.
That would be a heck of a game.
It's a great way to kick off the first year of a 12-team playoff.
That would be awesome.
And they have Alabama at Notre Dame.
I mean, that would also be a very cool game.
Because of the names.
But, you know, Alabama got beat by Vandy.
Yeah.
Smoked by Oklahoma.
They did.
I know they're Alabama.
I know they're the brand of college football, but who's, but Miami's best win, Miami's
best win is their win to start the season against Florida.
Otherwise, they really don't have any wins, and they lost to Georgia Tech.
Played a bunch of close games, like Big Cow by 3.
So we thought the 12-team playoff would erase controversy, but it's still there because there's
always going to be a 13-te team that doesn't make it.
The people who thought it was going to erase controversy were just ridiculous.
I mean, there are 68 teams in the basketball tournament, and there's controversy over that, too.
Like, there's going to be always controversy.
Here's what I love about the playoff.
This is why the playoff, anyone you hear complaining about it is just an old fuddy-duddy.
It made me.
You call them old and you use the word fuddy-duddy.
Funny-duddy is a very young word.
You whippers-nappers are fuddies.
I'm just telling you, they're a funny duddy, and I believe that's a very current word.
here's why they're an old funny-duddy right i cared more about games this year that i would have never
cared out about before because of this saturday night before we left sunday i was watching iowa state
kansas state following a game that i can guarantee you i would not have cared about one bit before
this smu's going to play climson in the ac c title and i'm going to try to watch it it's during the kentucky game
so I'll have it in the background.
But I would never care if SMU was playing Clemson normally.
I think it has made it to wear more of college football matters than it used to.
And I think those first round playoff games on somebody's home field.
They're going to be awesome.
They're going to be awesome.
They're going to be awesome.
Whereas there used to be a bowl game we probably didn't really pay attention to.
Now this means something.
It's a playoff game on their home field.
We're all going to watch it.
It makes it so much better.
I mean, you have bowl games, players opting out.
You know, half the team doesn't want to be there.
I mean, the teams that don't want to playoff, though.
They won't in the playoff.
And a lot of those other bowl games will probably get hurt,
but honestly they were headed down that path anyway.
But Max, I mean, you're going to get, like, think about what the playoff would have been.
Let's talk about what the playoff would have been in the old format.
All right, who would be in?
Oregon would be in for sure.
Probably the winner of Texas, Georgia would be in.
But then you'd have probably had, what, Notre Dame?
and Penn State?
Does that make you feel good?
Notre Dame Penn State?
This is so much better, Max.
It's so much more entertaining.
It's so much better.
And like you said, I mean,
winning your conference championship now,
there's so much more to that.
Like, yeah, obviously people are going to be happy.
But, you know, winning the Big 12 this year,
there was six teams or nine teams, I think,
in the final game or the final round of the year
that could make that championship game,
which is insane.
And it makes it so much more fun.
Like, everyone is still live.
now for that big 12 spot.
Like, I don't know.
I just think it's just so much better to see that competition.
And to watch a big 12 championship game and it means something.
I totally agree.
Hey, we got another person here.
Let's go.
I love it.
Love the playoff in that first round, which will be when Kentucky plays Ohio State
and basketball that weekend, that's going to be, you can have a seat right there if you
want.
That's going to be an awesome weekend of college football.
And I love there's a little bit more of a central.
aspect. Now, if you're in the 12, you're good. But like, a boys, you're in SMU. I mean,
the off chance they run through it and win at all. You never really had that opportunity before.
Totally agree. UK Federal Credit Union, not since 1937. Have you had a time to not be able to go there?
That's a double negative. But that's okay. Since 1937, U.K. Federal Credit Union is
supporting the educational community in Lexington and beyond. They are a three-peat winner of the
Herald Leaders Best in Lexington Award for Credit Unions. You can go to UK Federal Credit Union.

Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker.
They know this kids.
This linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Look.
Quarterback on office blue with 42.
Hey, rep, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Where's she at?
Hey, Miss Parker.

American soccer is about to explode.
The World Cup is coming.
Ramos sending on to Ernie Stewart the chip.
I'm Tad Ramos.
I'm Tom Boe.
On our podcast, Inside American Soccer, you'll get the real storylines.
I'm not worried about Policic.
I'm not worried about Balagan.
I'm not worried about McKinney.
My only concern is what happens in the back.
The biggest decisions.
If you're going to look at stats and numbers,
he has no shot at making this World Cup team.
And the truth about the U.S. national team.
It wouldn't be a huge,
surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals or potentially a great run into the semifinals.
The World Cup is almost here. Experience it all with us. Listen to Inside American Soccer with Tom Bogart and

This is a podcast we're recording it as we tailgate our youth soccer games in the back of my
Honda Odyssey with all the snacks and drink.
Sidebar.
Why did you get hard seltzer instead of beer?
Oh, they had a bogo.
Well, then you got it.
Do you want a white collar or something here?
Just take it.
What are y'all doing?
Microphones?
Are you making a rap album?
I would.
Come on.
Can you put?
I would buy it.
Cut through the defense like a hot knife through sponge cake.
That sounds delicious.
Oh, you're lucky.
I'm not a drug addict.
You're lucky I'm not an alcoholic.
You're lucky I'm not a killer.
I love this team, and I'm really trying to be a figure in their lives that they can rely on.
Oh.
Listen to soccer moms on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
What's up, fam?
It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm CJ Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows.
Without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the
lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends,
stop by like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nash will get that thing.
That man, hell get to flying.
He running up the court, licking his fingers why he got the ball.
Like, after you go through a training camp with that I said, you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your

Welcome back, final segment, KSR.
BBN, you wouldn't want to buy tickets to big game and then knock us.
go, so why would you pay for your health benefits and not use them? Court physical therapy
wants you to let you know if you meet your deductible this year, you can get physical therapy
at no cost, max, you can help those aches and pains go away. It's court.com, physical therapy, 70
locations near you, K-O-R-T dot com. I have a message here that I want to say, Drew.
Okay.
This is to, on Twitter, Tyler and Ben, because we keep getting, we keep getting this. We talked about
this the other day. When people get angry at the coach, it becomes they, it's like they are
incapable of channeling that anger at the coach. They have to channel it at other people too,
which includes us. So they're very mad that you and I and others said that maybe Kishan Silver,
while a very talented player, not the worst loss. Nick Roush believes it's a huge loss.
By the way, perfectly reasonable for Nick to say that. You know what that's called in America?
An opinion. Different opinions. And you know what?
what different opinions are allowed did you know that yes so when nick put out that vince might go to
louisville you all were there when he called and told me that and i then the next day found out he
wasn't but i'm not going to tell nick not to report that nick had louisville sources you all were
there when i called what did i say to him if you believe in it yeah i know you're not making it up
go with it different opinion right when vince ended up staying a lot of people
online go KSR started the rumor KSR into the rumor actually we had different what opinions
opinions all right so Nick Roush believes Kishan silver is a big loss I think it's a loss but I also think
UK's not crying about it because there were some off-the-field issues there so these people are
now saying Matt and Drew continue to spin for Vince and their boy stoops this is a massive loss
Nick Rouse said it.
They are all in the spin zone.
Have we taken a call from Vince or Stoops about Kishon Silver?
No, I didn't comment on Kishon Silver, by the way.
Well, you are wrong.
I said nothing about Kisholnsilver.
So I looked up the numbers.
Kishon Silver had 23 tackles this year, which was 14th on the team in tackles.
He had the fifth most tackles on the defensive line.
Be a dude you'd like to have return if things were great.
But no, I do not believe.
Max, I think it's the biggest loss they've had, but I don't think it's like a breaking loss.
It is, but you've got to have some turnover.
I mean, we just went four and eight.
There was going to be some people leave whether we wanted them to or not, and we probably
more so want them to, to be honest.
I mean, you can't just keep the same guys and go, oh, well, we're going to be fine.
Like, there's going to be some turnover.
That is true.
I remember one year in basketball, Northwestern was like nine and 22, and I remember watching their
first game, they go, they got a lot of people back.
And my friend the turkey hunter goes, do they want them back?
They went nine in 22 last year.
Honestly, I haven't written down the names, but there's only a few people that I would be upset
of Lee from this team.
I'm ready for them to just power wash the locker room and clean it up.
Who would be a couple that you would be wearing?
Well, Will Cox, I would want back.
Hardly Gilmore, Willie Rodriguez.
Some of the young guys on defense.
There's some young names they haven't seen much.
There's a guy call them sack them souls.
He got in late in some games.
The twins from Corbin, I still hope they'd turn into something.
Mostly a lot of the young people.
Cutter, of course.
And I'm naming a lot of young people.
Dane, I'll say Dane.
But really, there's not many more that I care if they go,
because if the culture's been that bad,
you're going to have to lose a lot of people.
Some reports out there about Dane.
Do you think maybe considering coming back more than he was a week ago,
do you want to comment on that,
or do you want to pull events, no comment?
I don't want to put you in a tough spot.
Yes
Press in, man
Yeah, don't let them up
Hey! What are you chicken?
Chicken?
Yes.
Yes, it's more likely than a week ago?
Yes.
Okay, wow!
That's some scoop, though, right?
I'm just messing with you.
I'm not saying it.
Oh, so back to no comment.
Chicken.
Chicken.
Chicken.
Do you know something that you're not saying?
I, like he did when he committed.
I try to stay out of it, man.
That's their family decision.
But for somebody who tries to stay out of it, you seem to know a whole lot.
Yeah.
Who's up next?
God, Binky up next.
Binky.
How are you Binky?
Hey, Matt.
Remember I called yesterday and said something about, you know, the worst dinner would be with you.
You did say that.
You do know that was a joke, right?
I mean, I didn't at the time, but if you say so, I believe you.
Yeah, well, if you go back and listen to it, I was telling you that I was just kidding.
Anyway, I got a couple of things.
First off, let me ask you guys, and I'm fixing to hang up after this, and listen to see what y'all say,
what teams, what SEC teams do you think we will take hits from this year in basketball?
Tennessee.
And you guys.
I think Tennessee is a bad matchup for us this year.
Tennessee's the one that I think we play them twice.
you told me tomorrow we'd win one of the two, I'd sign up for that immediately, because I think
they're a tough matchup for us. What about Auburn? Well, I mean, Auburn's tough because they're good,
but I don't think from a matchup perspective, it's any harder than anything else. They're just really good.
But, I mean, obviously Auburn's going to be hard. They're maybe the best team in the country.
But if you're just talking about what's the team that matches up with us in a tough way,
I would worry the most about Tennessee.
Any other any other
Arkansas
I think a Cal team
I'd be honest with you
I think a Cal team will
When we play against
Alabama will either win by 15
Or they'll beat us
I mean it
It's like
Think about how he did
Think about the games over the years
He's had with Nate Oates
Right
Yeah
He either won by a ton
Will them out of the gym last year
Or they would lose
Or they'd lose a close game
I think that'll be one of those
A one of those
Hey, one other thing I wanted to ask, who is the music
officiado here on your crew there?
Shannon is the one who knows music the most.
Does he know music or does he sing music or both?
Because I'd like to challenge him to a karaoke talker.
He doesn't think you know music.
I don't care what he thinks.
No, no, no, no, no.
I'm asking if you're a singer, do you do karaoke?
I mean, occasionally, yeah, do you?
You want to go karaoke, bro?
No, karaoke are for people who don't know how to play the guitar.
I don't appreciate the call.
Binky comes and apologizes about yesterday, and now he's going after you.
I'll expect an apology tomorrow, Binky.
All right.
Appreciate the call.
No, to Shannon's a good singer.
Can you play?
You can play guitar.
A little bit, yeah.
I'm not a great guitar player.
A guy who brought a guitar here today, a U.K.
That is really cool from Memorial Coliseum.
That's awesome.
He has a guitar made out of a court from Memorial Coliseum.
That's a very cool, cool.
Much of autographs on there.
Can I back up Binky in one point about not going to dinner with you?
I just wouldn't want to do it.
I agree with him.
You'd be down low on the list because you'd want to go to Skyline Chile.
Well, Skyline's great.
Don't put a bad name on Skyline.
Skyline is very good.
Let's be honest.
It's very good.
I'm ready for some Australian meat pies here in a little bit.
Yes, we will have it.
So, all right, we'll go into the rest of the week.
Signing Day.
It looks like Kentucky's going to keep their whole.
class, except the ones they've lost, except for the couple guys that decommitted the other day.
I think that's a little bit of a win, because when I saw those first two go, I was worried,
uh-oh, or seven or eight of them going to run out of here.
They were able to keep.
If we hadn't lost the running back, I think it would be very successful.
The running back does hurt.
Yeah, they didn't scatter.
That's good for on down the road, but they have immediate problems they need to address.
So they still need to get a lot of additions if Mark Stoops has any chance to turn this around.
It's going to end up being like the 27th, 28th ranked class, probably 11th or 12th.
and the SEC, Max.
Not too bad.
I mean, yeah, expecting a mass exodus,
honestly, with how we went this season.
And to retain most of them is pretty good.
Again, we're going to have a lot of graphics put out this week
of asking guys to move on,
and then hopefully we hit the pool really, really good.
You call those with that sense.
I think when you see a with that said,
you need to tag Max Duffy and say with that said,
because I don't think it's just going to be Kentucky.
Then I'll put a tweet out saying,
with that being said, I'm leaving Twitter.
Hey, thank you all very much for showing up here.
Both last night, go ahead.
Both last night in Fort Collins and then today in Windsor.
It was very cool.
We will be in Vail tomorrow.
I'll send out where we are.
We know we at least have two people there tomorrow who live there.
So that's good.
Thank you all very much.
We'll see you later.
Enjoy the night.
This has been best night of college basketball maybe the year tonight in the matchups.
This has been Kentucky Sports Radio.
Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind.
and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where SportsSlice comes in.
I'm Timbo, and every episode we're cutting through the noise,
breaking down the biggest moments in sports
and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves,
their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment,
and the stuff nobody gets to hear.

I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this guy, this linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Come on out.
Quarterback on office blue 42.
Hey, Brett, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Where's she at?
Hey, Miss Palm.

It's our favorite time of the year on our podcast point game, the playoffs.
We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season.
And I'm looking back on some of my greatest playoff moments.
If we didn't talk ever again, I was hungry.
You just understood.
That's how personal it got.
Wow.
Then after that game seven, Marquis keep coming to.
He's like, you know I love you, dog.
You know, it's all love.
This was just playoffs.

There was a large chunk of my 20s that I like was just so wanting to like be out of that phase out of my skin.
And I just like really regret not living in the present more.
You don't need to have everything figured out right now.
You just need to understand yourself a little bit better.
