Thank you very much, sir. 772-759-5-25. There we go. Yeah, yeah. Billy was here. He led
the last one at KY Sports Radio here at KS Bar and Grill.
Come on out and see us.
We've been learning more about Ryan's life.
It's, you know, we should talk more so that we know Ryan's got involved in all kinds of stuff.
You know, I got some things moving and shaking.
That's why 2025 is going to be a big year, I think, in my house.
Whether you want to say or no?
Well, I don't mind to say.
Okay.
I mean, you don't have to say.
But I've actually enjoyed it.
I've been door dashing.
I've been the door-dasher that brings you your orders.
You've been door-dash.
Since like October.
When were you going to tell us this?
You know, I figure out sooner or later somebody would say something to you.
But it's actually, it's a lot of fun.
I enjoy it.
You pick up some extra money, but I enjoyed it.
So you're doing it.
You were explaining you've got like a lot of big things that happened in 20-24 you have to take care of.
Yes, a lot of bills.
And so you've picked up that as an extra job.
Yeah.
I did not know.
How's that go?
Like, I've never known anybody that does that.
Do you, like, what's it like?
Well, you have to, you got an app, and you sign in, see if they need dashers.
Okay.
We're called dashers.
And if they need a dasher, you sign in, and then boom, you start getting orders in your area.
Like, I've got three areas, Georgetown, Lexington, South Lexington.
Those are my three areas.
Do you enjoy it?
I enjoy it.
It's actually fun.
I delivered to Jagger Burton one day.
Went to Keynes.
He ordered Keynes, by the way.
I mean, you went to Jagger Burton.
Uh-huh.
What was that like?
It was fun.
It was like, hey, what are you doing?
Hey, how are you doing?
So do you, so do people tip you well?
Sometimes.
Sometimes you get zero.
Sometimes I get a really good tip, but I got really mad the other day.
I got zero.
You got zero?
Oh, like a $45, 45 minutes.
It took me to fulfill his order.
They gave you zero.
You did almost an hour worth of work.
Got zero tips.
But you get something from DoorDash, right?
You get a little, every order you get something from DoorDash, but you make most of your money on the tips.
Well, I hope it.
If someone listening get you, I hope they give you a big tip.
I would give you a big tip.
Thank you.
I give pretty good tip.
What I understand is how DoorDash the tips they suggest to you.
You know, they suggest amounts.
Do they see?
I don't see it on your hand.
But they widely vary the amounts they'll suggest.
They'll suggest like $2 and then another time they'll suggest like $8.
And then they'll suggest.
And I never know how they decide what they're going to suggest.
Or you know what I mean?
I thought it's just a percentage.
Isn't it just like you know.
No, sometimes.
I feel like it has something to do with also how far they go.
Because I think it's a difference with how far they go.
But, you know, your name is going to pop up on people's thing.
It also has your picture.
Ryan is arriving with your order.
Does this?
But I don't know.
I had it yesterday, and I'm actually very mad that it was Trent.
So can I request you?
I don't think you can.
I think it's, you know, I get the order depending on where I'm located at the time.
So if I'm like in Georgetown, I'm not going to get an order for you in Lexington.
Okay.
Yeah.
I kind of wish that I had learned this with just you at my front door.
would have been a great surprise.
That would have been a good surprise.
I delivered to Drew F.
You should not be embarrassed or a shame.
Does someone who you serve food?
Lots of people dooredass.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with you dooredash and make a little extra money.
Actually, I enjoy it.
It's kind of fun.
I'm going to do it this afternoon.
But you know, I mean, you're dealing with.
What you're dealing with is what a lot of people do, which is that, I mean, I know
what you make on this show.
And for people who don't know, you do make a good amount of money on this show.
But like, things happen in life.
Oh, amen.
Yeah, I had a hospital visit.
I've got attorney bills.
I've got a credit card bill.
I mean, it's kind of got out of hand.
So I've got to do some things to kind of chip away at that little bit.
Well, I'm proud of you.
Well, thank you.
If I end up getting you, I will tip you big.
But I do have a question because I feel like I know you pretty well.
Have you reached into a bag and gotten a fry out at some point?
No, because they actually, they put a sticker on it.
They fold the bag over and put a DoorDash sticker on it to keep you from opening the bag.
You've never thought it smelled good.
Oh, it definitely smells good.
You go by City barbecue and you pick up a bunch of barbecue.
Like, whoa, that smells really good.
Yeah.
Wait for someone to DoorDash KS. Bar and Ryan's their delivery guy.
That'll be it.
That would be a good, yeah.
I did learn something.
You know, there's a DoorDash store down here on Broadway.
It's where that Walgreens is, right?
Yeah, over here in front of the old Campbell house.
I'll tell you something about that store real quick.
So sometimes I get up early in the morning.
I go grab breakfast and I will sit in a parking lot and plan the show.
Yeah.
Okay?
Sometimes.
And today I was doing that right across the street from that place.
And there were, there were, Brian Lane just gave me a tip.
Brian Lane in the house.
How are you?
There were eight unmarked police cars that all came pulling out at once,
the moment they pulled out on Herodzburg Road, they turned their lights on and went racing down the road.
Eight of them.
And they were white, like SUVs.
And they came one after another right from that Home Depot, you know where the Home Depot is?
I don't know what's over there, but I'm just going to tell you, something's over there at that Home Depot.
Now, they weren't like, they weren't investigating the Home Depot because they went flying down Herodzburg Road towards, like, out of town.
But there were eight of them, and they came one after another, after another.
And then the moment they would pull in Harensburg, they'd turn their lights on eight of them at like 9.30 in the morning.
It was obviously a raider.
They're getting ready to raise.
But what is over there next to the Home Depot where they all would be?
Why would they all be over there?
Might have been where they just parked, being a big parking lot to wait for their signal.
Wait for the signal?
Yeah, probably needed a big area to call.
It was wild.
They literally were like, it was.
Sounds like it.
Again, eight of them.
All right, speaking of, I asked everybody the numbers that they thought we needed to win.
The average number seems to be either six or seven, but there are a bunch of sevens.
So I think five, like you may be the one person that says five, right?
I think six or seven is going to be the number for Stoops next year.
Yeah, I said six, but I could be talked into five if they had some like a really good game against Texas, Georgia,
like, you know, some of those powerhouse teams, you play them well.
All right, so let's talk just a second about snow.
All right.
They're saying it could be anywhere from three inches to over a foot on Sunday.
The models, which, by the way, I saw a model that I wanted to post,
and I was worried Mark Weinberg would come to stab me.
Be careful.
So I did not post it, but I saw a model.
Basically, like, our state is ground zero.
And, like, it looks like no matter what happens,
a third of our state is getting drenched.
A third of our state's getting very little, and a third's getting ice, which may be worse than the snow.
And like it seems to keep shifting who's getting what.
As of right now, it looks like that you're going to have the people to the north of us getting the snow,
us maybe getting the ice, and people to the south of us kind of right in the middle somewhere.
But it could shift.
Apparently, like, it could go.
It might be the south of us gets the hard part.
We get the, like, we don't know.
But it seems like Sunday, and it's all day Sunday.
It looks like is what's happening.
I keep hearing him talk about it.
This gets coming in.
You may have seen this.
It could get down to a low of four degrees a couple days.
They said it could be as low as zero on Sunday night with negative 15 wind chill,
which we haven't seen apparently in Lexington in like a decade.
I think this is just the beginning.
I think the whole month of January could be nasty, wintery stuff most of the month.
Was that in Farmer's Almanac?
Yeah.
So, I mean, this is like, this is crazy stuff.
So how are you going to prepare?
I'm going to doordash.
I'm going to clean off my sidewalk.
Oh, you know, this is your by the wheelhouse.
I'm going to get ride a little path.
And let me say, snow is probably when you would get your biggest tips.
Do you have a car that can navigate that?
I do not.
Okay.
Can I borrow yours?
No.
Although you, wait a minute, you've got, that car can do it.
I don't know if I trust it going out in deep snow.
Okay.
Well, either way, are you going to like go to the grocery store, Drew, and get prepared?
Get your milk and bread.
Well, I already have a grocery trip today because I need one, but I, the whole trip's changed.
It is now a preparation change.
Yeah.
So, so apparently tonight, all the weather people say they'll have a better idea tonight,
which I guess would be true every day.
They'll have a better idea than they did the day before.
but we'll find out.
Well, that affects Monday morning.
It's already a big show.
You know, with you kind of a fringe employee here,
you know, Iran and I are going to have to dig our way to KS Bar and do a show?
That's true.
I mean, I can walk if I have to to KS Bar.
You all better be here.
I'll tell you that.
You better be here Monday.
I'll be here Monday.
The question is Tuesday.
That's the question.
Who's up next?
Freebird.
Freebird.
How are you?
Hey, guys.
Happy New Year.
I've got an off-the-wall question, and I don't even know if
possibility. With the strong as these super conferences are in football, especially SEC,
is there any possible way where it would be discussed if Kentucky moved to another conference
or possibly would go independent like Notre Dame? I didn't think so. Kentucky will never leave the
SEC because it'd be like saying, hey, would you leave your job making $5 million a year to make
$1 million a year at a less prestigious company? No one's going to do that.
Right. I mean, that's what Kentucky's not leaving the SEC, Kentucky's not going independent.
You know, the SEC at some point, I'm sure we'll grow larger, but there's a couple school, you know, I always say Vandy of Mississippi State should send a thank you note for the rest of their lives to heaven for the fact that they're in the SEC.
Kentucky's, because of their basketball tradition is a little different, but we will never leave the SEC.
So then we've got to have Buku's the money because, you know, we can't keep up with the traditional power.
See, I don't think it's the money.
It's interesting you say that, and I appreciate the call, because I had this conversation with someone who I think is very, very, very smart nationally about college football.
And we were talking about the future.
This was their take.
I'd be interested to see if you agree.
This is a person all of you know, respected nationally, who said,
the problem for the Kentuckies of the world used to be tradition facilities.
That's not really a problem anymore.
Then the problem was NIL money.
With the new settlement that's coming, basically all the schools are going to have the same amount of money, pretty much.
Some schools will be able to go over the top a little bit, but for the most part, everybody's going to have money.
So they said they don't even think it's money anymore.
Now it's just tradition and placing guys in the NFL.
And the premise this person was telling me was Kentucky will have a better chance of being competitive in the SEC if they get the right coach in the right system and all that now than has ever been the case before.
And that they said that's true of every school, that now the money, which has always been the great divide, is not going to be, as weird as, as you're going to.
it sounds, if everybody has money, then the money isn't a problem, Ryan. Does that make sense?
Makes total sense, yeah. So I'm going to ask you this. So like in a school like Kentucky where
basketball maybe gets the most notoriety, do they get a little more money? No. They have to just take it
from football. But a lot of people believe that the amount of money it takes to be good at basketball
that isn't like, this is what I'm being told at least. Kentucky will out of its official 22
million. Give a little bit more to basketball than other schools, but most of the basketball
NIL money is still going to come from donors and like it won't have a huge effect.
For all these schools, almost all the money's coming from to football anyway.
Yeah, a lot of it is just going to be, you're talking about tradition and stuff.
At least Stoops gave us a little bit of a bump from what Kentucky football was because I think
a lot of this is just going to be logo recognition with these kids and just knowing the
school, NFL will be a big part of it.
You mentioned that.
Kentucky's had some recent success, a little bit known nationally. They're not a powerhouse,
but better than they were going into this era. I think, I still think it's going to be really
hard to compete for Kentucky. But I think some, you know, you used to hear me talk about the
barrier to Kentucky. We didn't produce a lot of local talent, right? Well, we still don't. But local
talent is not the big thing anymore because you're getting transfers. Like, I mean,
think about our last three or four years.
Most of our best players came from somewhere else, right?
Yeah.
You know, I don't know.
I mean, we'll see what, when we're watching the national championship game,
I'll be fascinated, Ryan, whenever who's playing it,
to see how many of the starting lineup for each teams started at that school.
That'll be interesting to see.
I don't know what the answer will be, but it'll be interesting to see.
Yeah, Samuels guys, they actually recruited and developed.
How many of them did they actually recruit and develop,
and how many of them did they bring in at some point?
I don't know what the answer will be, but we'll,
We'll see.
Draft Kings tonight.
Let's do our Draft King special segment.
Tonight you got Georgia and Notre Dame.
It's at 4 o'clock from the Sugar Bowl.
Go to draftkings.com.
It's back to bet five, get $200, back to the $200 bonus.
Use my promo code KSR.
Who do you like today, Georgia and Notre Dame?
Is it still one point?
It was a one point spread.
I think I saw one and a half at one point.
I mean, I know we've got Gunner Stockton as the quarterback,
but I'm still going Georgia.
It is Notre Dame by one.
I'm taking Georgia.
Going with the Irish.
I parlayed all four games.
I'm three for three.
I need the Irish to cash my tickets.
So we'll go with Notre Dame.
Georgia's winning.
SEC Big Ten.
It's going to be the last two teams, four teams left.
I think that's going to be the case most of the years in this playoff system.
I think Georgia gets a victory and sets up what should be two really good playoff games in the semifact.
I think so, too.
Notre Dame did look good and then they dismantled Indiana.
but I think that's because Indiana really wasn't that good.
I think George is just going to have a lot better players when you get to that point.
We will take a break and be right back here at KSbar,

Saturday we will open at 9 for the football game. Open early served breakfast.
basketball game, which is at 11 a.m. against Florida. One person writes, Matt, I want to say something. I want
you to read this for Ryan. So there you go. This will be my KSR, the Kentucky Brady tweet of the day.
I'm proud of Ryan. Being transparent about real life is commendable. That's why I love him.
If I get him on DoorDash, he'll get the biggest tip that's ever happened in life.
Yeah. All right. Well, I'll be working this afternoon, sir. If you want to try to
order here in Lexington. I feel like they should let you pick.
Yeah. Like I would select you. Well, you can type special requests. Maybe the driver will get it and I'll
just type. Will you go find Ryan? Well, you go find Ryan. One thing I did learn, like if you do it here
in the Lexington area, you get a lot of college kids, they don't tip. Oh, ask the people that serve
at this restaurant. They know that. The college kids, y'all, I like college key. Like, you guys are
good kids, but you know what? You don't tip your servers. Tip your drivers. Like, you'll, you'll
want you'll wish you did it later in life it all life comes full circle at some point i don't mean to
bring the mood down but the story in laurel county is awful yeah i mean like have you have you heard
about this drew so that they uh police were were serving a warrant now i could be wrong about
this and please correct me if i am but it was for a stolen wheat eater is that what we're talking about
that's my understanding that was part of it i don't know if that was the only thing but it was definitely
part of it. Was there more?
Because that might be important. I don't know. Actually, I don't
know. Well, either way,
at least part of it was a stolen weed eater,
served it, served it to the wrong house,
had the number wrong on the house,
bust in and ended up
killing a guy who was just
at his house
who was worried that people
were busting in, got a gun, and then
he ends up getting killed.
Just a terrible,
terrible story. And, you
you know, there are some, I don't want to say things that aren't official, but there are some things
that suggest maybe the reason it was served was because the weed eaters was somebody that's in a
position of power. Otherwise, because it doesn't feel like you should be busting into people's houses
for weed eaters. Now, maybe there's something we don't know, right? Like, there might be saying,
I want to be clear about that. Sometimes what you read, uh, and the initial, like, reports may or may not be
true. We saw that with the, the guy in New Orleans. Initially, people said he,
crossed the border illegally.
Turned out he was an American citizen.
Like, sometimes you get, like, it's wrong.
But to me, you don't go bust it in people's house for a weed eater in the middle of the night.
To me.
Am I wrong?
No, you're right.
1150.
That's why there's...
1150 at night.
You can't come do that during the day?
And if I'm in my house and somebody bangs in my door, bust him out at 1150, if I've got a gun, I'm trying to protect myself too.
You don't know what's coming at you.
But he, the guy ends up getting killed.
Then he got killed.
Then he got killed.
I mean, it's awful, right?
Older man at home by himself.
Yep.
Probably asleep at that hour.
Again, I want to be clear.
I'm open to hearing something that can convince me the other way.
I'm not being definitive on this.
But if the facts are that it was a stolen wheat eater, look, do mistakes happen with warrants?
Yes.
Is it, should they not?
Yes.
People make mistakes.
I get that.
But what do you, I don't care if it's the guy who stole the weed eater.
What are you doing busting in their house at midnight for a stolen weed eater?
If it's weed eater only, don't you just wait until the next morning and just ring the doorbell?
Yes.
Ring the doorbell, excuse me, sir.
Now, again, maybe there's something else.
That's the rumor.
There was something else.
But even if there is something else, it doesn't help the guy who was shot.
That's still awful no matter what.
I mean, you got to get, apparently the address was repeated.
They have taped five times in the conversation.
the address was repeated incorrectly over and over.
They were two houses away.
Yeah, and it was like $4.95 and $5.15.
It wasn't even like it wasn't one of those like $519, $5.91 or whatever.
Like, I don't know, it's terrible story in Laurel County.
And, you know, I mean, there's not much else you can say except it's terrible.
Who's up next?
Sean.
Sean.
What's up, Sean?
Hey, guys.
Good morning.
Good morning.
Three quick ones.
I don't know what the number.
is for the football of five or six.
I'm not sure where this six game comes from.
But even let's say they win first three and they're going ready to start the conference
play.
I'm calling this the Red October for Stoops that if they get run out of the field during
Georgia, Texas, and Tennessee, I don't care how good they look the first four games.
Those three games are going to be critical.
Yeah, I actually completely disagree with.
So to me, okay, Georgia, Texas and Tennessee are the three hardest games we play.
Why are you, I mean, let's just, to use your example, let's say we were to go nine and three.
And then we get run off the field, Georgia, Texas, and Tennessee.
You'd still be mad about that?
I just, that's the question mark of the effort and the leadership.
That's what I'm going to be watching for.
Are those kids laying down?
I mean, if they're out there, you know, busting their teeth and filling up puke bucks,
Okay, good.
That's fine.
But I'm just saying there's a chance right there that all the good effort and all the good
coaching that they do previous to the October, it could all be for not if they go out there
and they.
Yeah, I mean, I feel like they played Georgia, Texas and Tennessee.
They were, those were three of their better performances this year, honestly.
I mean, you know, Georgia, we lost by one.
They were competitive in the game at Tennessee.
I don't know that they were competitive at Texas, but I didn't feel like they.
Hey, I didn't feel like they laid down.
The problem for me was South.
Carolina. The problem for me was Louisville. The problem for me was Vandy.
You know, and I appreciate the call. They do have those three games right in a row.
But look, they'll beat the three stinky teams. They've got to find three more wins.
Vandy on the road, I guess, is one. Maybe Old Miss at home trying to get it.
At Auburn. Pulling upset at Auburn, at South Carolina, at Louisville, but Ryan, it ain't easy to find any of them.
just saying that again just emphasizes how crazy tough this schedule is next year your home games are
oh miss tennessee texas and i guess you get florida yeah so maybe that's one you hope to get
wow i'm going to come off as sky's falling guy but week one against toledo i'm not looking past and i'm
being dead serious they beat pit yeah and i mean kentucky should win but that might be a game we're in the
fourth quarter we're like oh my goodness they got chip train them next year too look i don't even
think about what happens if you lose to Toledo in the first game.
They are good.
Like, I mean, but you're right.
That's a, that's a game that's not a gimmie-gimmy.
You don't think Chip wants to come in here and run for a hundred yards?
No doubt.
No doubt. We'll take a break.
Very back.
This KSR.
Welcome back.
It is Kentucky Sports Radio.
859-280-2287.
Thank you very much.
Text machine is 772-7-7525-4.
One person writes on the text machine, Matt, I had a memory when you were talking about the weed eater.
Am I right that Cala Perry once took?
a wheat eater. That was a story once.
You remember that? He borrowed it. He borrowed
it and wouldn't give it back or something like that.
He said he forgot to give it back.
Yeah. And the guy, didn't the guy
ended up saying something publicly about it?
How do we find out about it? I don't remember how
we found out. Maybe his wife said something about
it or something. I don't remember, but I do remember
that being a story worth of him. I can remember
Kyle talking about it in a press conference
because he was very cow. He's like, I don't even know what a
weed eater is. Why would I take one? Ellen took it.
No, yeah. That's a weed eater. Never
heard of such a thing. Yeah.
I think I wrote it in like a Zillow listing.
That's what it was.
Yes, that's what it was.
They were like down the street as a guy.
Yes, you should get my weed eater.
Yes, that's a good memory.
That's exactly right.
One person writes, Matt, on New Year's Eve, I watched Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper.
I remember you used to enjoy that.
I did.
I watched some of it this year.
They do entertain me.
Those two guys getting drunk, they let them drink again.
They didn't seem they got as drunk this year as they normally do.
I think the people around them were.
enough. Did you see Ray Fines doing that monologue? You need to look that up. I didn't see that.
I caught a lot of the highlight. Ray Fines did like that. I'm demure. I'm whatever. You need to see that.
That's good. Anyway, one, he said, this person writes, would you guys want to be in Times Square on New Year's
Eve? It looks awful to me. It looks like the worst thing I've ever seen. Why would you want to do that?
Part of why I don't understand why you'd want to do it is nothing is happening. You're just standing there. Like, you're just standing
there in the rain, in the cold, just standing there with your planet fitness hat on.
Like, what's the point? And most people wear adult diapers because there are no bathrooms down there.
What do you mean most people wear adult diapers? That's kind of the thing. It's known. You wear
adult diapers. Says who? I saw an interview yesterday. Someone had already admit to pee in their pants,
and it was like noon. I'm going, they're like, you have 12 more hours ago. I've got to challenge you on something.
I understand that there might be some people.
You think most people in that crowd are wearing adult diapers?
I think it's kind of understood because there's no.
I don't think that's true.
They stand down there for five, six hours.
What are you basing that on?
And there's reports.
What reports?
I think the Google machine will back in the up.
So you're telling me that there are stories from legitimate news agencies that say most people are wearing adult diapers.
Yes.
I don't think that's true.
Times Square.
The first Google result is the New York Times.
Okay, but what does it say, though?
I want to know what it says.
It's talking about how a table at Applebee's is $1,000 and people are wearing diapers to line up at the front of Times Square.
What people?
Does it say how many people?
But does it say how many people in the Army?
I don't think they counted.
He said most people are wearing adult diapers.
I watched the video.
Everyone in those front rows were admitting it.
They weren't hiding it.
They were like, I've already peed twice.
I got here at 7 a.m.
They're there all day, and there's no bathrooms.
There's no porta-potties, and the businesses down there do not open.
the doors to let you use the bathroom.
All right.
You two just grow with most people
are wearing adult diapers.
So you're just telling me those people
voluntarily all stand there
to go stand around a bunch of people
with adult diapers.
And just they're just peeing all over themselves.
You've got to think about that.
They lined up at 5 a.m.
For an event that's almost an entire day away
and they can't move.
Yeah.
I don't.
I mean, you got to pee somewhere.
All right.
I got to pee in a cup.
Bored on the ground.
I'm going to pee on myself.
All right. I know you guys are, people are trying to eat here first off.
We're just telling you about the news.
All right.
Yesterday I did something I've never done in my entire life.
What was that?
I went to an I hop.
Oh, you did.
I'd never been to an eye hop before.
Rudy, too, fresh and fruity.
Yeah, so I got off the exit.
It was in right outside of Columbus, and I was like, where are you going to eat?
And, you know, there were the future, but a lot of stuff was closed.
A lot of people closed on New Year's Day, so a lot of stuff was closed.
And I said, you know what?
Never been to an I-Hop.
Don't know what it's like.
Sure.
Why not go in there?
Yeah.
Not my thing.
But I went, and I feel like I've experienced it.
And it was, you know, they got like pancakes that are, you know,
they had Oreo pancakes.
Who is eating Oreo pancakes?
Me?
You're yum.
That's got to be awful for you, isn't it?
Probably.
That's why I'm going to eat it.
So did you go the breakfast route or the lunch route?
It was like 11 o'clock you could get either.
I got a waffle.
Wasn't great.
Well, they are the house of pancakes.
I know, but I thought if you do pancakes, you can do waffles.
Like you could do the same thing.
But I did go.
And I was thinking to myself, that may be the last major chain of restaurants that I can think of that I have never been in.
Really?
Can you think of a major chain of restaurants where there are multiple locations all over the country and you've never been in any of them?
I had never been in an I-HOP, but I think I've been to every other chain of food around.
Is there one that you could think of you haven't?
No, I don't think so, because we stopped.
Didn't we stop at a water burger when we were on the way in Los Angeles that one year?
Yeah, but that's stuff out there.
I mean, stuff are regional that you could, that you've never been to that you think you just never have found yourself in.
I've never been to a sir pizza.
It's right there.
Never.
I mean, it's right there.
You've never thought like it's right there. Let me try it. No, never have never or not one time
Well, maybe one day they'll bring you one. What's the other like the cousin to Waffle House? It's Waffle something
Waddle House. Huddl House. I don't think I've been to a huddle house. You know our partner at KS Bar owns like seven of them
In Madisonville. Yes, and you've never if you never tried to thought about anyone we go to Western Kentucky. Let's go to one of his huddle houses. All right, well there you go. Who's up next? None for you? I'm sure. Actually, actually.
Actually, I don't know that I've been to an IHOP, but I think I've hit most.
I'm a big restaurant guy.
I try to try everything.
Yeah, well, you can skip eye hop.
Maybe Jack in the box, even though that's regional.
I don't know that I've been to one of those.
What's next?
Jerry.
Jerry, go ahead, Jerry.
Hey, Matt.
Talk about next year for football.
You know, the more you read these, like, weight truly predictions that are looking
at the transfer class and stuff, they're not real impressed Kentucky.
And you look at schedule, like you see, you look at schedule next year,
probably the only teams are going to be not going to be better this year
the next they were this year are Tennessee and Ole Miss,
everybody else is probably going to be at least as good if not better.
I agree with you, Jerry.
I mean, the transfer class doesn't look great,
but then, Jerry, I would say to you,
they praised our transfer class last year,
and it didn't do anything.
So I sometimes wonder with the transfers if they even really know.
Well, and the other thing is, you know, like we're saying,
is that, you know, they didn't change any of the offensive coaching.
My gut feeling is that we're going to be marginally better if not the same on offense
and defense backs to be working because we've lost all these good players.
So, you know, it's sound like three and nine, Matt.
I mean, that's certainly plausible.
You know, I appreciate the call.
It's certainly plausible.
There's a world in which we come back next year and we're the same,
and maybe the same makes you go three.
and nine this year. I mean, that's, that, that is plausible, and stoops won't survive that if it is.
But there comes a point, I will say one thing. I do think the people that every single piece of
football news, their response is fire stoops. What are, what are you even tried to accomplish right
now? Like, he's coming back. So like, now that he's coming back, we need to hope he does well.
And if he doesn't do well, then I'll be one of the people leading the way next year going.
we need to change.
But I made the analogy online, and this is my analogy.
We right now with football are where we were with Cal after St. Peter's.
All right?
After St. Peters, we were like, uh-oh, is this going in the right direction?
And there was a lot of troubling signs.
And there were some people who wanted to change.
But I was of the belief after St. Peters, look, this Goods had a lot of success here.
let's give him a chance to turn it around.
It didn't work out.
A lot of the troubling stuff we saw after St. Peter's
ended up being what ended his time here at Kentucky.
That might be what happens with Stoops.
We'll see.
But I kind of feel like there are people who act like we are
where we were after Oakland.
I don't think we're there.
He's had one really bad year.
I think it's more St. Peter's, Ryan,
where it's like, the signs are there,
you better change,
Kyle didn't change.
We'll see if Stoops can't.
So what do you think to the people that give you the argument?
Well, even the year, two years ago,
it was disappointing.
They just kind of saved it by beating Louisville at the end of the year.
Fair point.
But what was the year before St. Peter's?
Anybody remember?
We went 9 and 16 and missed the tournament.
Right?
Yeah.
I mean, we were worse,
much worse, the year before St. Peter's.
So, you know, look, whether you think he should be gone or not, he's going to be here.
So I don't really know what we accomplished by just saying, should have fired him.
Okay, fine.
But Drew, he's here, so we might as well hope it works.
Yeah, and I think, you know, I said this about Cal last year.
I'm going into next year, this is the last year, even if he has an amazing year.
I just feel like we're kind of at the end, whatever he does.
think it's going to be a good year, but when they kick it off next September against Toledo,
I'm going to be following that whole season as if it's the last, whether he's winning games or
losing. I just think it's kind of a... But you're going to be pulling for him to win.
I guess I'll be pulling for to win just like I was for Cal last year, but I watched last season,
and I said this on the radio before they played a game. This feels like the last ride, and I
fill that with stoops, whatever it looks like. I feel like this is the last wave,
whether that wave is one year or two or three, I think, remains to be seen.
But I do think we are nearing the end.
And the question, Ryan, is just how's the end going to go?
So you've talked to him.
Do you feel like he's got that fire back a little bit that maybe he'll be able to turn it around?
All right.
So let me give the case if you want to feel, look, the case for being pessimistic is obvious, right?
We stunk last year.
The guys from the portal are from Mac's school.
is that going to work?
Our quarterback, we don't know about them.
The case for being negative is obvious.
If you want to have a case for being positive,
and again, let's compare it to Cal.
If you were to talk to Cal after St. Peters,
he didn't think anything was wrong.
He thought, I'm doing it the right way.
I know what to do.
Everybody shut up.
It was a weird loss.
That's the way it goes.
Mark Stoops, in my opinion, knows he's screwed up.
Now, I'm speaking for him now, but he's going to come in here at some point and speak for himself,
and then he'll get to say it or not.
If Mark Stoops goes into next year, the way Cal went into the post-St. Peter's year and does the same stuff,
then we're going to lose, and he will be gone.
If he changes the culture, if he changes the way this program has run back to the way it was before,
maybe he has a shot.
We'll see.
So what's your feeling?
Has he been in?
Is he got the mindset or he's going to?
I think he has the mentality.
but sometimes you can have the mentality and you may or may not succeed.
You know, we lost most of our, I mean, we're starting over next year.
Yeah.
Like, not just the transport.
We had a ton of dudes graduate.
Like a ton of dudes graduate.
Like, we're starting over.
How many starters are returning from last year?
Like, think about it.
Look at the offense.
Offense.
How many dudes are going to start that start?
started last year?
Anybody?
Wilcox just, he started that one or two games.
But he didn't start.
He wouldn't start.
He started it.
So Wilcox.
All right, how many dudes on defense are going to start that started last year?
A cornerback, hard away.
Some of your safeties.
Jordan Lovett.
Ty, Brian.
Jordan Lovett, I mean, he just got in trouble.
I mean, I don't know.
I think we're going back to also running the damn ball.
Y'all get ready.
Well, one, there's not me receiving.
on this roster right now.
And I do think he got a good get out in Nebraska with Daldell to put with Wilcox.
Redid the line.
I think Stoops is just going to hand it off the whole year and go back to what they used to do.

Come on out and thank you very much and join us.
Have lunch and or dinner here this evening.
Ryan, we, I had a couple people.
right here. One person writes, I think Ryan would be the best door dash driver, but my question is,
does he talk to people? Do you have, you make conversation when you walk up to the door?
98% of the time, you just leave it at their door. You have to leave you instructions.
Would you enjoy talking to people? Probably not. No, I want to get in, get out. I feel like you're
friendly, though. I feel like you'd want to have a conversation. Oh, I talk to the people at the
restaurants when I pick up the food, you know, hey, have a good day. Merry Christmas. Happy holidays.
What's the place that you tend to pick up from the most?
Well, this DoorDash store is a lot.
Pizza places, Papa John's Pizza.
That's a lot.
By the way, can I give a restaurant that I think people should go to in Lexington more than they go to?
Oh, let's hear it.
Big restaurant guy.
So I was looking.
There's this guy.
He has a million followers.
He's like a food guy on TikTok.
His name is like, I don't know, Food Head or something.
I mean, it is something like.
Like that.
I'm not, I'm literally.
His name's like food head or food face or something.
But he's like national, but he lives in Kentucky.
And he seems like a nice fellow.
I don't know how he got a big following because he just seems like a regular guy being like, hey, I like food.
Right.
And he ranked his five best restaurants in Kentucky in 2024, like all over the state.
And a lot of them were like in small towns.
I think the winner was, well, I can't remember.
But there was one in Hodginville.
It was one in E-town.
but he had one in Lexington on it, number two.
And I've been there.
And every time I go, there's, like, no one there,
which makes me wonder how it stays in business.
But it's really good.
It's called Ola Havana.
And it's out off Richmond Road, like close to Man O'Wore.
It's in, like, one of those little shopping centers.
You know where it is, right, my?
I've been there a bunch.
I've been there like I'm Friday night,
and I'd be, like, the only person there.
And I've wondered, like, it's Cuban,
food and it's really, really good.
And I'm like, how come, and this dude ranked at the number two restaurant in the whole state?
Really?
And I was like, finally, I thought I was the only person that ever went to this place.
And I was like, how does nobody go here, Ola, Havana out off Richmond Road?
You know, I've lived in this town for 28 years and didn't know this place existed.
If you were going down in Richmond Road before you get to Man of War, you know, the last left before you get to Man of War, you go down there.
There's like a shopping center right there, and there might be like a Kmart to the right of.
A Kroger.
A Kroger.
It's in that shopping center to the left, where there's like a subway and maybe an ice cream place or something like that.
Yes.
The old movie tavern back there.
So anyway.
Really?
I don't know what made me want to say that, but that dude picked it number two.
It was the only restaurant he had in Lexington on his list.
I want to see the other restaurants, the top five, and we can try to hit them at one point.
What's the one in Louisville?
That's it because I was always mad we didn't have a new.
Oh, there's a ton of them in a movie.
Famous one. Havana Rhumba.
Yeah, so this is, I think, just right there with that.
Did you know Louisville, again, I don't know why I'm getting off on this, but did you know
Louisville has the second largest Cuban community, third largest Cuban community in America behind Miami and New York?
What's the connection?
I don't know.
But there's, but we, we apparently have an absolutely massive Cuban community in Louisville, and there's a lot.
And now that I think about, there's a lot of Cuban restaurants in Louisville, maybe that's why.
There's several locations that Havana, though.
The one you mentioned here in Lexington is only a few years old,
but I've heard great reviews from it soon.
So, all right, who's next?
Rick.
Rick.
Go ahead, Rick.
How you doing today, Matt?
Good.
I'm calling you about the football.
I mean, I keep on hearing the, you know, the $25, $30 million for the NIA.
22.
That the university's $22 million.
But the players can get NIA money from anywhere else, too.
Correct.
They can, but now the NCAA can say it's got to be real NIL and not pay to play.
At least they can enforce it.
What do, we'll wait and see.
Well, I keep on, you know, I got upset when Stoops made the remark about pony up.
I'm sure everybody else did too.
We had just 20 seconds real quick.
The point I'm trying to make is I'm hearing the text.
Texas, NIA-I met money is over $700 million.
Yeah, well, that's not true.
It's not $700 million.
Their endowment is that much, but that's not their NIO.
I appreciate the call.
NIO will still be an issue, but it's going to be better once the settlement and all that comes
into place.

This has been Kentucky Sports Radio.
Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you
funnier. This week, my guest, S&L's Mikey Day and headwriter, Streeter Seidel, help an
a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some
retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and
friends on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Last
night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's
telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo.
In every episode, we're cutting through the noise,
breaking down the biggest moments in sports
and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves.
Their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment,
and the stuff nobody gets to hear.

This week on Crimless, Rory and I welcome a very special guest.
When I did podcasts, I wear my sleep masks.
I like where this is going.
So if you guys will indulge me.
That's right.
The incredibly talented and hilarious Will Ferrell on an episode dedicated to crimes committed by people named Will Ferrell.
You're good for 300 crimes?
Yeah.
We've got two.
I'm ready to go right up to present day.
Listen to Crimless on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
What's up, guys?
Taylor the 4th. And on my podcast, the
Clifford Show, I'm bringing you conversations about
all kinds of stuff. Like being
an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game. This
linebacker, this linebacker walks
up to me, he goes, hey, ref, my mom
wants you to wave at her.
What?
Quarterback on office
Blue 42. A rep,
my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Where's she at?
Hey, Miss
Parker.

I'm Joey Dardano, and on my new podcast, Hope from a Hypocrite, I'll be changing lives, helping people in need with thoughtful solutions.
Sike, I'm a comedian. I'm not qualified to give good advice.
Join me and my comedian friends as we riff, rant, recommend some of the most legally dubious advice known to me.
This is Help From a Hypocrite, the worst advice for.
the dumbest people you know.
