Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

I'm Michelle McPhee, and I've been unraveling the strangest criminal alliance I've ever reported on.

So how do you keep going?
On Hurtle with Emily Abadi, we're talking with the most inspiring women in sports and wellness,

and the mindset that keeps them moving forward.
At our level, at this scale, being able to fail in front of the entire world,
I can do anything.

Welcome to Hour 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio
presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Now, here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back, Hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio,
859-280-2287 here at the KS Bar and Grill.
Wings Day, Dollar Wings for the rest of the day,
and night.
We think we've got maybe the technology fixed.
We brought in the emergency equipment, so hopefully it turns out well.
Great crowd here.
Got some folks from Independence, Kentucky.
They just told me.
Got some others from Lexington and a good crowd of people here this morning.
And, you know, this has been great because we have babies and dogs, and I've handled all of them.
Like, that's how you know I'm in a good post-win move.
You're growing up right from our eyes.
That's right. Babies, dogs, we'll just put it all together.
We'll make it work.
Babies, dogs are Republicans.
You're adjusting very nicely.
First of all, they're not in the same.
You don't have to put Republicans.
I'd say most of these people are Republicans.
Babies and dogs.
They're in their own category.
Rank who you'd want to be locked in a room with for 24 hours, those three.
Baby, dog, Republican.
Oh, that's a good question.
Well, Republican would be one.
We'll bring you food.
It depends on.
You can't be wearing the hats.
creating the memes, but just regular Republican one, dog two, baby, three.
Wow.
All right.
Now we know.
Look, the baby doesn't want me to be locked in with it either.
It's not going, nothing's going to happen positively for that baby during that time.
What am I going to say to it?
Just look at it and start screaming and go, stop.
You know, there's just, there's only so much I can do.
A couple little non-basketball things.
The television show Severance, which I don't know if any of you have watched,
I know Drew's watched it.
even if you haven't watched it, this is one of the coolest pieces of promotion I've ever seen in my life.
They went to Grand Central Station yesterday in New York.
Did you see this?
They didn't see it.
They went to Grand Central Station, and they set up this glass enclosement in the center of the station.
So if you've been to Grand Central Station, just think about what it looks like.
In the center, they enclosed part of it with glass.
And they brought the set and the people from Severance and had them in the middle.
in there for like an hour as if it was the show.
So they were in character sitting at their desk at the cubicles to where it looked like
you were watching them actually at work on the show.
Same set, same outfits, they were doing the same things.
And I have to tell you, if you had just been at Grand Central Station to get your train and
you came upon that, that would have been one of the coolest things ever.
Just imagine whatever your favorite TV show is.
If you just walked into Grand Central Station and like it was Jerry's apartment from Seinfeld was just there.
That is what they did.
And I thought it, did you see that?
I did.
I thought that was genius promotion.
I want copycats.
That was one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
Brilliant.
I mean, you just said they had the TV show just sitting there.
I mean, it was just out.
Yeah, imagine you're just going to catch your train and there's Tony Soprano and Polly and the boys.
And they're recreating Sopranos.
My favorite show.
I mean, that would be just so surreal to walk in.
Yeah, and I'm sure it's drawing more and more attention.
And they didn't break character.
Like they were in character the whole time.
They were acting out of the scene.
I don't know how it ended.
I don't know how they got them out of there.
But the videos I saw, I thought that was maybe the coolest piece of promotion for a TV show
because the second season is coming that I've ever seen.
Brilliant.
I mean, you guys have talked about it.
I kind of want to see it, but now I really want to see it.
It's on social media.
Just Google Severance Grand Central Station.
You'll see it.
Second thing, one of my biggest complaints,
of day-to-day modern life is maybe going to get fixed.
Are you ready?
Now, I understand why they did this,
but everybody knows if you go to a CVS or a Walgreens,
what's the biggest change in the last three or four years?
Everything's locked up, right?
Like everything, you have to get somebody,
you have to hit a button, and they have to come,
and, like, you can't get razor blades.
You may see, I shave much less now
because I don't want to buy the razor blades.
It takes too long to get the person to come
and unlock them, et cetera.
Now, the reason they did that, they say,
is because they were getting a lot of theft
in some of their stores.
People were just coming and grabbing a bunch and leaving.
The CEO of Walgreens did an interview yesterday
where he said, we screwed up.
He goes, it's made it worse.
He said, yes, we cut down on theft,
but now people don't buy it
because they don't want to wait for us to come and let them in.
He said, so we would have been better off
just allowing some of the theft
because it has hurt our sales,
much more locking everything up.
So now they're going to go back to unlocking everything again,
which probably will lead to some theft, I'm sure.
But now he's right.
I buy less things at Walgreens and CVS
because I don't want to wait for them to come and unlock the thing.
I'm also guilty.
Go walk, get something.
It's usually razor blades.
It's a razor blades for me always.
You look at it and you look over and there's one person,
they have a line of six people with the cashier.
It's like, well, looks like I'm not shaving today.
Yeah, I'll just get on out of here. I'll Amazon that to the house.
That's exactly right.
Like you go to a store in part so you can get it and get out,
and they've made so many steps.
I have thought to myself, I have bought less stuff at CVS and Walgreens because of this,
and now it's been confirmed.
They said it's hurt their sales significantly more than the thefts did originally.
Yeah, you're obviously not alone.
The good outweighs the bad, man.
They need to sell more product.
I feel like you, though, would be somebody that waited.
I do wait.
Yeah.
I thought you're going to say steals.
No.
Why do you, you're not in a hurry?
Yeah, I'm just not in a hurry.
You don't have anywhere to be?
No, I got nowhere.
I got nothing to do.
Yeah, well, I'm too impatient.
So I was glad to see that, I'm glad to see that change is occurring.
Said in the Walgreens, they're going to start unlocking pretty much everything here.
Wow.
I can't remember which of the brands of those I was in recently, but it felt like half the store was locked up.
If you go to New York, if you go to New York, if you're in New York City,
I don't know if any of you've ever had to go to a CVS or Walgreens in New York.
The whole store is locked up.
The whole store, like you can't get anything,
and it's just one or two people just taking their key around
and just unlocking everything.
Yep.
Actually, that's where I was in Portland, Maine.
It's the bigger cities where just everything's locked down,
but it's a huge inconvenience.
One of our, we just stopped on our trip somewhere.
We went into one of those stores, and it was like,
I think I went in to get some cold medicine or Advil,
and everything was locked up and down the entire aisle.
No more.
No more.
Now they're back to opening.
Free.
So I guess everybody will start stealing again.
Who are the razors?
Who's up next, Shannon?
Eric.
Eric, go ahead to Eric.
Hey, guys.
I know that you guys have been saying that Tyson's had sent you got some chicken down to the bar.
Yes, they did.
Well, I think a good thing to send them, a good Kentucky classic would be a good nice hot brown,
because it seems like that's what they have as a team right now.
It's a good hot brown.
Well, I appreciate the call.
Mario, turn the TikTok.
camera on here for a second. Stop, stop, stop flirting with Billy and focus, all right?
I, I have a message to my good friends at Tyson Foods and Arkansas.
Thank you very much. Seriously, thank you. Like, I can't thank you enough. You know,
you sent me that chicken when you came and you took John Calapary. That was nice of you,
but that was way too generous. You've been more generous to us. You saved us 40 million.
You sent me some chicken nuggets, but you saved us $40 million, and you helped us reestablish the joy of Kentucky basketball.
You helped the arena be filled.
You help.
No, seriously, you helped us kind of get back to Kentucky basketball the way we want it.
So, Tyson's, I owe you.
You have done me more than you could ever have done for us.
Thank you very much, and I don't really have a care package for you.
I just want you to know my heartfelt thanks.
I will buy as much of your $2 chicken as I can.
Good for you, and you are my favorite corporation of 2025.
Makes me a little tear you high in here, Ned.
I still have the nuggets they send us in my freezer.
I see them every day.
I'm waiting for February 1st, and I have to find a way to get an air friar in the Rupp Arena
because I want to share them with my friends at the game.
That's been my – our rapid reaction is going to be me cooking chicken nuggets
after that game and passing them out.
I mean, it couldn't have worked out better, right?
Like, you know, I don't know.
You remember how much I used to use the marriage analogy when we talked about Cal?
Remember?
And I said that I used the analogy of sometimes a relationship goes complacent,
and then the new guy, then they break up, and then the guy gets in shape,
and he goes and he meets the new woman.
And he's like, well, that didn't happen.
He didn't go get in shape.
He stayed the way he was.
He's now unhappy.
We, on the other hand, found the actual love of our life.
Like the high school, we went back to our high school girlfriend, who we probably should have
ended up with anyway, but life had kind of took us away.
You know, we fell for the, and now we're reestablishing this connection, and we're like,
remember when we went to the playground in 10th grade and you have all of these memories,
and like that's how it turned out for us.
Yeah, he's taking us back to where we first kissed on the playground.
Yeah, and we didn't get diarrhea this time.
No.
The diarrhea went with the chicken.
Yeah, so it's like it almost couldn't have worked out better.
Total win-win for Kentucky fans and all of us, for sure.
I had a friend last night texted me said,
John Tyson drinks for free in Lexington.
And I thought, you know, I don't think he needs the free drinks,
but if John Tyson wants to come have a good time,
I think Kentucky fans would welcome me.
Bobby Bones.
I remember Bobby Bones.
I remember Bobby Bones calling me before it went public, and he said to me,
I think we're going to get Cal.
And I laughed at him, and I was like, no, you're not.
And then he ended up being correct.
And Bobby Bones, man, like, play all that terrible country music that you have on your show now.
You did us the perfect thing.
Like, I'll even go to a Luke Bryan concert to thank you all for the money.
I mean, not, I won't like it.
but to just thank you all for for for the for the money i 40 million dollars they say 40 million
dollars i will all confess while we're doing this i stayed up way too late looking at memes
and reactions last night the uh the crazy guy that always makes the video yes is now a ukk fan
did you see that no he switched he's all in on and let me say this to all of you there's a guy
name john neighbors okay he hosts a radio show in arkansas nice guy he's been we've been friends
for five years. I've been on his show a lot. He does, he's not exactly like us, but he does a
postgame show. He asked me a few weeks ago, he was like, when Kentucky plays Arkansas, I'm coming
down there Thursday, and I'm going to be there two days, and I need a place to do my show. Can I do it
at your bar? And I was like, yeah, he does it. It shows at like 2 o'clock. I was like, it won't be
that crowded. There might not be very many people here. You're more than welcome to have the bar. When he
comes, we need to all come and bring him gifts, right? Because he was one of the biggest advocates
of Cal coming. He has that video you've seen on the internet where he's interviewing students and
they're all like, yeah, eat it. We, I think, should not only be good host, we should come him give him
gifts of praise on that Thursday and Friday, Ryan, for pushing that so much. I guarantee I'm going to
get something to bring it in there for him. Yeah, we need to write a thank you card for all those
people that were pushing for Caldow.
So John Neighbors, I think we should all give a little piece.
I agree to that.
On that Thursday and Friday when he's doing his show.
I'm looking forward to hosting him.
He's a big karaoke fan, so maybe Kentucky fans could take him out karaoke.
Yeah, we make him out karaoke.
Show him a good time.
Maybe he'll be a Kentucky fan.
I think they all are going to be soon.
Who's next?
Sugar Bear.
Sugar Bear.
How are you?
Hey, I'm good.
This is my first time.
I wasn't going to talk about basketball.
I wanted to tell you about my.
husband.
Okay.
You was talking about a guy last week that was 40 years old that was doing stuff that you couldn't believe.
Okay.
My husband is 65 years old.
He's blind and he lifts weights three days a week.
Wow.
Lifts weights three days a week.
How much can he bench?
Ten years ago, he bids 407 pounds.
Wow.
That's pretty good.
And we've got 312, 2 weeks ago.
312.
Well, that's certainly more than I can.
Well, what's your husband's name?
Donnie.
Donnie, where do you and Donnie live?
Elizabeth Town, Kentucky.
Elizabeth Town.
Well, listen, you and Donnie keep staying in shape.
That's very inspiring, and thank you very much for calling me.
he's 5-7 and he weighs 312 too
whoa

He's doing his thing.
If I'm 65 years old, blind and I'm benching 300 pounds, that's a guy that needs a salute.
Hey, yeah.
Sounds like a legend.
Got some Bill Braskey or Chuck Norrisen.
That's exactly right.

Like, I've never understood that.
Like, it didn't make sense in my brain.
It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you, but don't ever feel like you don't
feel like you don't feel like.
Don't let that be the reason you don't do it.

It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.

Welcome back.
It is Kentucky Sports Radio.
Yeah, I don't know if I could go to this concert, Shannon.
If I had to listen to this the whole time, I'm not sure.
I'm not sure I have it in me.
I don't know.
It's worth it.
I think it would be worth the trade that we got.
You know, it's Wednesday here.
Friday night, I'm speaking to the Kentucky Young Farmers Association.
And, I mean, if there's one thing I know a lot about, it's farming.
So I'm really working on.
I feel like I'm going to be able to give them a really good speech.
You got the hat, though.
You got your cowboy hat, yeah.
Yeah.
You're going to have the street.
the moment you walk in.
You think that hat will give me the street grand?
Have you figured out the shoes yet?
See,
that can't...
No, no, I have the shoes.
Okay, good.
I have the shoes.
I bought boots.
I've got the boots.
I've got the jeans.
The question is the shirt.
You can be flexible with the shirt.
I don't know what the shirt's going to be,
but I got everything else.
As long as the hat and shoes are cowboy guys.
Got the hat.
Got the shoes.
Got the jeans.
It's really the shirt that we're looking at.
I thought you had a clubbing shirt that might go with your cowboy boots.
Farmers don't wear clubbing shirts.
Go with your hat and your boots.
Farmers.
farm. They don't wear clubbing shirts. This is the Young Farmers Association, not the D.Js of
Miami Association. I'm wearing my cowboy hat around Buffalo Trace later today. I'm really looking
forward to it. I don't have the shoes yet. Starbucks, by the way, I keep reading all these
facts, has a new rule they've just put into place. You now no longer will be able to go to Starbucks
unless you buy something. The days of just coming in and being able to sit and use their Wi-Fi,
You will not be able to go to Starbucks and go in unless you buy something.
I think it has to be at least $5 in order to sit in there.
What do you think of that rule, Drew?
For one, I didn't know Starbucks had anything cheaper than $5.
I honestly, I mean, I've gone and worked in Starbucks.
I bought stuff because I wanted a coffee.
I didn't know people were already going in there and not buying things.
There's a guy at this Starbucks on campus.
I don't know if anybody goes to that Starbucks on Chevy Chase, right,
in the Chevy Chase Shopping Center, but there's a guy, and if you go there, you know who I'm talking about.
He's there all the time, day or night, listening to his headphones, reading a book, and he's like taking notes, and he's dancing.
I'm not kidding you. He sits there, he listens to music, he dances, and he writes, and he writes, I've looked, it looks like he writes in, what is secretaries used to write?
Shorthand.
Shorthand.
It looks like he's riding in shorthand because it's just gibberish.
And he does it all times of day.
And I've been there, probably seen him there 25 times.
Never seen him have anything from Starbucks in his hand.
And I've often wondered, how does Starbucks just let this guy just be in here for hours and hours on time?
I guess the answer, Ryan, is they're not going to do that anymore.
I can see why they're making this move.
You know, you can't just come in and use that place as your office and not patronize them
and buy some drinks or food or something.
We wouldn't want somebody to come in here and sit here all day and not buy anything and take up a table.
We've had that happen.
We've had that happen.
Or somebody buy one soda and then...
Water.
Remember you had somebody just bottled water?
So I get it.
I mean, I actually think their rule is completely understandable.
Yeah, and in some places, maybe not Lexington, but even bigger cities, people running in just use the bathroom.
I think that's over the code.
Yeah.
Let's talk about the rest of the SEC for a second last night.
Alabama loses at home to Ole Miss.
By 10.
Missouri beats Florida on the road.
So Florida and Alabama, two of the best teams in the conference,
lose at home to Ole Miss and Missouri.
Say more about Florida and Alabama.
Drew or say more about Missouri and Ole Miss?
I kind of think Missouri and Ole Miss.
Missouri especially.
I didn't think they were going to be very good,
but what are they three and one now?
Beat Kansas earlier this year?
Yeah, I mentioned earlier.
I think they're up to number 30 in Ken Palm.
So I think Missouri especially, it says more about those teams.
And the big statement last night I'm looking at it on TV right now,
Auburn without Broom still looks very good.
I think Bruce is going to get them won this year.
Auburn's the best team in the country.
Auburn's got a legitimate chance to win the national championship.
Now that Broom is coming back, I think to me they're probably the best team in the country
above everybody else.
We have to go to O.M.S. and Missouri.
those were two games that I thought, you know what, you could steal either one of those.
Do they become harder now that they're both road games?
I think like Drew said, I think we're seeing that Missouri is maybe like Georgia,
a lot better than any of us thought going into the season.
We talked about all the other SEC team, didn't talk about Georgia or Missouri at all.
Ole Miss, you know, they beat Alabama at Alabama by 10.
And that game was on the same time after our game.
They dominated.
And Missouri was up by Florida by like 18 points, I think, at one time.
In the first half, Missouri was annihilating Florida.
Florida ended up losing by one, but they dominated.
I mean, they were annihilated.
I'll note about Missouri.
We finished the season at Missouri.
So, like, our last game of the year is at Missouri.
That will be a crazy atmosphere on the final game of the season with them being good.
That was going to bring my point.
I always think about teams that aren't doing well.
You get to those last games.
They're kind of ready for it to be over with.
Kind of wanted that to be the case of Missouri.
It's not going to be.
They're 14 and 3.
That's their senior day.
You're going to get a good environment at the end of the year
instead of a team that's ready to call.
quits.
Totally agree.
Who's up next?
Kevin.
Kevin, go ahead, Kevin.
Good morning.
Got a couple of things I'd like to throw your way.
Okay.
First one is, from the Mississippi to the Appalachians, we are big blue nation.
What do you think about that for us a slogan since we don't have one?
From the Mississippi to the Appalachians, we are big blue nation.
Yeah.
You know, you're talking about Noah.
It's okay.
It's okay.
When you say Mississippi, I don't think about the river.
So like, but I get it.
I think you mostly just go from the Mississippi.
From Lyon County to Harlem.
From the Mississippi.
We're going from the Mississippi to the Appalachians.
All right.
What else?
Cal may be a one and done in Arkansas.
Well, that's a great question.
I appreciate the call.
Do you think?
I appreciate the call.
Any chance Cal's a one and done at Arkansas?
Oh, yes.
Yes.
I mean, I didn't think he's going to be there for three years.
So if this continues the way it is, I can see him not wanting to come back.
What do you think?
I mean, if he just continues to do this, he's got to care about his legacy.
You don't want to end the way it looks like.
He's got a really good recruiting class next year.
Like, he's got really good players.
I mean, to me, I would think he's going to have a pride of I can't go out like this.
I've got to have, like, one more run.
Another recruiting class, huh?
That's what I was going to say.
I think he doesn't want his legacy to be tarned.
by this horrible season.
Looks like they're destined for it in Arkansas.
They're on the Willie Mays in center field with the Mets.
Like they're in that sort of place.
I feel like he'll want to do one more.
When you say it wants to do more, yeah,
but what if the next recruiting class fails again?
Then that's just what you are.
You're right, yeah.
Without Boogie Flan last night,
they probably got beat by 20.
I mean, he single-handly kept him in the game there in the second half.
Dude, if they didn't have Boogie Flan,
they would be atrocious.
I mean, they would, they're bad now,
but they would be absolutely atrocious.
He got hot late.
That could have been double digits.
LSU was, I think, eight,
and then he scored, you know, several buckets in a row to pull them close at the end.
How long, just if you were to guess the amount of years Mark Pope is the coach here,
what would you guess?
If I made you put a guess today?
13.
13 or 14.
Okay.
I like that guess, actually.
What about you?
I might even go.
Where's he going to go?
You know?
Well, this job does wear on you a little bit.
And his excitement's new right now.
It'll get tiring.
But, I mean, the guy seems to really love everything he's doing.
The good thing about him is this is the first coach we've had since Joe B.
Hall that I don't think we have to worry about going anywhere.
The rumors of he may go here, he may go.
That's not going to happen with this guy.
And that's exciting because we've dealt out of that my whole lifetime.
We'll take a break.
Be right back.

Here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back. Tucky Sports Radio, 859-280, 2287.
Are you, Ryan, upset like a lot of these people in Lexington, Louisville, that
they keep not be in school?
You know, our kids in Lexington have not been to school since December 20th.
As a dad who has, not only Josiah, but Josiah's best friend staying at my house every
day, every night. Get them out. Get them back to school for crying out loud. Okay, so I'm just playing
devil's advocate. There are still streets in Lexington and Louisville that you cannot drive on.
I mean, if you are a bus. I mean, you can drive on them if you have a car, but like, there are
still streets that are completely ice. In Louisville, my street in Louisville is complete ice. A bus
could not go down that street. Now, a car can, but a bus can't. And so since they usually make
these decisions based on buses.
And remember, the school district doesn't control the roads getting cleaned.
That's a different, they're different things.
What would you do if you were there?
I mean, like, because if they have school and a bus crashes due to the ice,
people are not going to be happy about it.
So like, what do you do?
You know, I said getting back to school, but my street is like an ice rink.
You come, you, you just slide through the stop sign.
You slide out into the street.
I mean, I get it because it is like an, an,
Ice rink where I live right now.
What was, like, is there a way to do it to where you go, okay, look, you folks may have to
like on my street, you can't walk down my street, but you could walk to a block and you'd be
fine.
Do you just tell the kids maybe you're going to have to walk a block away from your house for a day
or something?
I think you could have maybe looked at that, but the temperature this morning was like,
what, nine degrees.
I don't think they want, you know, the elementary school kids out in that temperature.
But, I mean, it's been a long time.
Yeah.
Now, it is supposed to warm up tomorrow, so maybe that changes it, but like, it's going to be cold.
It's supposed to be freezing this weekend and next week.
Like, I mean, at some point they do have to go back to school, don't think?
Yeah, they've got, you know, NTI going on.
So Josiah and his friend woke up at 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon.
I said, why do you always telling your kid for not doing the, like you always telling your kid for skipping the things they're supposed to do?
He got up at 1 a.m. and did his homework all before the sun came up?
So I asked him, I said, do you guys love that?
You guys, at least log in so you can check your attendance.
He goes, yeah, we log in.
That's all we got to do.
I mean, it's the last semester of their senior year.
I don't think there's a whole lot going on for him right now.
I love how you just throw your kid under the bus, left and right, like, oh, my kid's got up at 1 p.m.
There could be future employers listen to the show right now.
That's true.
He has an interview today.
I shouldn't have said that.
Oh, he has an interview today.
Wild eggs.
I feel like he'll probably be able to get that since you read the endorsements for that place.
if he doesn't, that's really on him.
I do want to note, I've been asked a lot about we're on in London, Kentucky,
or we were on in London, Kentucky.
You may remember that, like, I made some criticisms of that situation in London with the guy
getting shot and the police and the weed eater.
Magically, we're not on in London anymore.
After being on in London for, like, nine years on the same station,
they just pulled the plug on the show Monday.
Now, I'm not saying, I'm just saying.
It's interesting to me that after nine years of being on there,
they just pull it.
And we asked, and they said, well, we're focusing on the music.
Well, it's always been a music station.
So that's interesting to me.
Now, we're going to try to find there's some bigger stations in London.
We're going to try to get maybe moved to one of them,
and hopefully that'll happen.
But it's interesting to me, Drew, you know, one of the things that people are alleging in London is the government there has its hands in everything and gets involved in everything.
And then all of a sudden, after nine years being on there, we talk about London one week and we talk about how maybe they shouldn't have broken into a guy's home for a weed eater and shot a stranger, that then the next week we're not on the air there.
Huh.
Smells funny.
One, I already missed our London listeners, and I hope we get back in there soon.
Me too.
We've been that.
We do shows in London at Don Franklin all the time, yeah.
They're focused on the music?
That radio station brought us to we did one of Weaver's Hot Dogs.
We did at Lowes Sporting Good.
We've been on there for a long time.
There was a time that that was the only way we were on in southeast Kentucky.
Now, again, our people are working, and we'll probably find a different home in London.
But that seems crazy to me that you're on all this time,
and then they coincidentally switched the music right after the weed eater story.
I kind of wanted a better reason than focusing on the music.
And they play classic country.
Like, the music ain't going anywhere.
I work for Eyeheart.
The good thing about classic country, there's never any new hits.
Yeah, everyone should listen to music on the radio.
I like Eyeheart.
But, you know, to turn to music when there's so much music around,
I feel like they need to talk radio going on somewhere.
I'm not saying, I'm just saying.
Who's up next?
Corey.
Corey, go ahead, Corey.
Hey, what's up, guys?
First time I'm calling.
Whoa?
What's up?
I just have a couple things.
The first thing is a couple critiques.
First off, a great win, and I think we found the defense that we really need.
We didn't win a game just by outcoring the other team, so that was awesome.
The critiques are Almanor.
Whenever he's in transition, and he got his shot blocked or met the layup,
dunk that ball, you're seven-foot-tall dude.
and the other
talking about Mari
Amari
you talk about Mari
oh yeah
yeah yeah
yeah sorry sorry
but whenever
Kobe
or Kurt
sorry
Carissa was on defense
and instead of diving
for the ball
he just
Braya
I'm going to stop you
I feel like you get
all the players confused
Kirk Creasa is hurt
so you're talking about
Kobe Brea
so yeah
so you got both players
wrong
in your analogy
That's okay.
Yeah, sorry.
I'm over here going over work stuff right now, so I got a lot of my brain.
No, those are my two critiques.
Go ahead.
Sorry, the last thing was the care package.
I have the perfect idea.
How about round one and two tickets to the NCAA tournament?
That's the only way they're going to do.
Oh, I actually like that.
That's pretty good.
Round one, appreciate the call.
Round one and two tickets in Lexington, since Arkansas is not going to go,
we send them the tickets so they have a chance to watch the,
watch the tournament. I like that.
By the way, just if they made the tournament,
how funny it would be if Arkansas got
put here in Lexington? You know that's
what would happen. If they somehow make it?
That would actually be really funny.
Amari Williams,
best game of the year
for Kentucky last night. Only played 23
minutes, but rebounded well.
I thought he blocked shots,
thought he was pretty patient. Missed that layup.
But besides that, I thought it was maybe
the best game I've seen Amari play. Pope said
he was the key to the game. He was.
made some good passes like he's done in many games.
He also just seems to be a lot more engaged and into it.
I don't know if it's just his personality traits.
Other than the year, you know, he disappeared a little bit, slouch a little bit.
Seemed like he'd be frustrated that something happened a few minutes before,
but he is full energy and full emotion now.
I know he gave the pregame speech before Mississippi State.
Maybe this is, he's broken out of this shell, and this is going to continue.
I didn't like Kobe Bray and not getting on the floor.
I know it's one play, but, dude, you can't bend from the knees
and the other guy dives on the floor.
You got to get on the floor.
Like, you sit there and reach, and another guy's on the floor.
He's lower than you.
He's going to get the ball every time.
That led to a three, right?
Didn't they – and him kick it out and hit a three on that?
But I will say they called timeout after that,
and I thought that after that break was when Kentucky took it up to another notch.
It was almost like I'm sure Pope lit into him for not getting on the floor there,
and that may have been why.
You know, he's one of – two of ten, his last two games shooting the threes.
I really thought getting back to Rupp.
He'd have a big shooting night last night.
It's still there in him, but.
Yeah, but they hadn't been the last couple games.
Had been the last two games.
It wasn't the first time this team hadn't gotten on the floor for a loose ball, too.
I remember Butler doing it one of the big games in the first minutes.
They need to learn to, you know, when it's out there, there's a 50-50 ball.
You need all your fight when the other guy's going for.
Low man wins when it comes to ball.
If he has his whole body weight down there and you have your arms, he's going to get the ball.
So that's why they tell you to dive on the ground is you're never,
going to get the ball if he's down there and you're trying to pick it up. His legs were almost
fully extended standing up and he's been over like slapping it with both hands while the other
guys on the ground ripping it away from him. Hey excitement is building for week 23 of the commonwealth

Back, Kentucky Sports Radio.
Louisville, by the way, is back in school.
So Lexington is the only one not in school.
That surprised me because Louisville had a ton of ice.
So if Louisville's back in school and Lexington's not, maybe, you know, maybe they've got to do something there, right?
I mean, are they going to be off to get tomorrow?
I don't know.
You know, even Scott County's been in school all this week, and they've got stamping ground in Sadieville, some rural cities involved with that.
but they've been going to school this week.
I think Roz Louisville was back in school.
So if they're making it work in Louisville,
because I was there earlier this week with all that ice,
I feel like they can find a way to make it work here, right?
I live right by Douglas.
That road's not great, but at least around that high school,
it's not too bad.
Obviously, that's not the whole city,
but I can confirm Douglas is pretty easy to get to.
Yeah, 899-2-80-2287.
Three SEC games tonight.
Do we have a Draft Kings one here?
We do.
So Draft Kings, this will be our pick of the day.
Draft Kings, we have three SEC games.
Tennessee plays Georgia.
Who you got?
Where is it?
It is in Tennessee.
I like Tennessee, but obviously we're seeing Georgia is much better than I think anybody thought going into the SEC season.
Tennessee is 11.5 point favorite.
Would you take Georgia to cover 11.5 in Knoxville?
If Tennessee hadn't just gotten destroyed by Florida, I think Georgia might have a chance.
But what is that?
Food City Arena is going to be rock.
City Arena.
South Carolina at Vandy.
Your Vandy's a 9-and-a-half-point favorite, Shannon.
Are they going to take out the game Cocks?
South Carolina, I would say right there next to Arkansas, the two worst teams in the conference,
probably even worse than LSU, so I would hope that Vandy would win tonight.
All right, you're taking Bandy.
Then this is the game.
We talked about how for Arkansas that might have been a season-ender.
I don't think this is a season-endor for these teams, but what if I told you Texas and
Oklahoma are both 0-and-3 in the conference, and one.
of them tonight's going to go 0-and-4 because they play each other.
That's a huge rivalry and, like, you know, staying alive and the conference is up for grabs.
Who you got?
I think I'm going to take Texas because their first games were brutal.
They've already played number one, number two, and number 13, so it's hard to get a good read on them.
I think maybe they'll find a win tonight.
I think going in, Texas was kind of flirting with that getting in your second tier there for a little bit of the season.
To be 0-3 is a little surprising, but I still think they're a better team than Oklahoma.
Yeah, their schedule has been tough, but they're at Oklahoma.
I'll take Texas.
But, you know, if you're Oklahoma, you had no losses in the non-conference,
and then you start to conference 0 and 4.
That would be probably as big a symbol of how good the SEC is over anything else.
They have big wins against Arizona.
Beat Louisville.
Yeah, and Michigan.
They beat Michigan.
Yeah, they got one of the wins.
We need to congratulate Pat Kelsey.
He surpassed Kenny Payne on the all-time wins list at University of Louisville.
Did he really?
In 18 games he did more than Kenny did in two entire seasons.
Is that right?
I didn't realize that.
Kelsey has already passed Kenny Payne and wins?
Yep.
Yep.
Wow.
Yep.
Do they like make a thing for that?
Is there like a banner?
A banner?
Yeah.
Yeah, you know, we got cut off earlier when I was talking about Cal Staff.
I just want you to think about Cal Staff for a minute.
Cal Staff right now is Kenny Payne.
Chen Coleman,
Bruiser Flint,
and Brad.
Tyler Ulyss sits there with him.
He's not an assistant coach, though.
His paid assistance are those do.
Wow.
Can you believe that?
I mean, the good assistants went to other places
that are doing very well.
Orlando and Tiguo and Illinois are rocking.
I have a kept up of Wells,
but he got the heck out of here after last season.
I mean, it's...
I will say Brad has an exquisite selection of turtle.
at each of these games.
I mean, he is single-handedly trying to bring the turtleneck back.
He looks like every game is a different Miami club night DJ.
He does not look like a basketball coach.
No.
He looks like he is at, you know, the light factory in Miami about to throw it down on the ones and twos.
And they just sit there.
They don't like they don't do any coaching at all.
We see like even last night.
Cal still yells at Chin.
I can't believe he kept Chin
and after that first year the way they used to be yelling.
Cal screams at Chin during the games.
Screams at him.
When I looked over there and Brad was on the bench
and I know Cal's got Brad there
because he's trying to get him a good start on his career,
I get it.
If I had a son in that spot, I'd probably do the same thing.
But if I'm Brad and I'm watching my dad,
his legacy just tank, I'd be like,
Dad, maybe I shouldn't be sitting here.
I don't know that I'm qualified to help you.
Could you maybe bring in some actual help
and take care of yourself and then bring me in later.
Oh, wait a minute.
Breaking news, Shannon.
Running on, nah.
The Federal Drug Administration is banning the use of red number three in food and beverages.
That's the thing that's in like Skittles and nerds and a lot of that stuff.
You know, that was one of those that like, it seems like it was probably bad for a while
and everybody just kind of looked the other way and now, so I don't know.
We're not going to have red Skittles anymore.
They just.
Every flavor but red.
You know, they've talked about doing this for years and years and years and years.
I think it actually has a link to, like, cancer and all that.
I mean, red dot two, fine.
You just can't have red dot three.
Red dot three is the one.
Four, good.
There's just something about that number three.
We all like a lot of the stuff that's in, and we're going to miss it.
But if you read the stories and see what it's actually doing to people, it's probably best that we don't eat the...
I don't want to think about it because chances are I've ingested.
quite a bit of red dye three in my life.
If you look at my diet,
chances are a lot of it has gone
into this factory right here.
Yes, who's next?
Adam.
Adam, go ahead, Adam.
Hey, guys, had a gift idea for your Arkansas
friends. I had this book.
It's like a motivational book on
how to overcome adversity. It's called
Bounceback.
So I would be happy to give you all that.
Nice. I like it. That's my
Kentucky-branded call. That's a good one.
how awesome is it that you know the past couple years it's we actually had the opposing coaches
and players telling us that they knew exactly what we were going to run and it was easy to guard
and now we have buzz peterson saying that or buzz williams saying that uh you know he gets excited
watching mark pope's offense just because it's so like he's comments last night i appreciate
the call i thought buzz williams comments last night were maybe one of the best praises
for Mark Pope that we've seen.
Buzz Williams said, I literally got excited studying Mark Pope's offense because of how well it's run.
And I think he was being completely genuine.
He was basically saying, look, you look at these players, and he gets the best out of every one of them.
And he said, you know, they run, he said, I cannot believe how efficiently they run their offense.
and I mean, buzzes can be a little bit of a jerk, but I also don't think he's like a BSer.
And when I heard that, I thought, Drew, man, what a great compliment from a coach you just beat.
It was.
Buzz had me in a pretzel last night.
I went outside and did our reaction and called him soft and he was talking to Jackson and I don't like Buzz anymore.
I come inside and buzz is at the podium saying this team could win the national championship.
I love watching Mark Pope's film, this and that.
And I'm thinking, well, dang it, now I think I like Buzz again.
So it was a wild Buzz Williams ride, but that was one of the best.
better opposing coaches press conferences, I can remember.
Well, Buzz was soft about the Jackson thing.
But Buzz is for defense.
Like Buzz's defense is as well done as Pope's offense.
So for a man who's known for being an intellectual defensive guy,
to say that about our coach for his offense, I think is a very, it's a huge compliment.
And I wouldn't recommend everybody look at that because if you watch it, you can tell he's being very sincere.
He is.
He is.
And like you just said, they just got their butt whipped.
You just lost the game.
You're still being very, very complimentary of the opposing team.
Probably the two best defensive coaches in the country are Kelvin Samson and Buzz Williams.
And when those dudes sit there and say, you run an offense, I enjoy watching, I'm going to listen to that and say that's actually a huge compliment.

Tip-offs at noon.
Last time we played at 11, the crowd was great.
The game was great.
So I like the early tip-off for this team.
We're going to play by the, we're going to open, by the way, at 9 a.m.
on Saturday before we're going to serve breakfast and do another early morning time here for Kentucky, Alabama.
Do you like the noon tip for Alabama Saturday?
Honestly, after that Florida game, I wish it were 11.
Yeah.
BN likes the day game.
So, yes, I do like noon.
We really showed up for that when I think they will again on Saturday.
Alabama coming off a loss.
I don't like that, but I tell you, it's going to be a fun game.
Final score might be 120 or 115 the way those teams play.
Thank you all very much for coming out.
