Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel,

And I'm C.J. Toledano. It's our favorite time of the year on our podcast point game, the playoffs.
We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season. And I'm looking back on some of my
greatest playoff moments. If we didn't talk ever again, I was part of it. You just understood.
That's how personal it got. Wow. Then after that game seven, Mark keep coming to. He's like,

Your 20s can be so exciting, but they can also be really overwhelming, confusing, and honestly, just kind of lonely.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and the psychology of your 20s is breaking down the science behind the biggest roadblocks we face.
I was six years into my career, the 80-hour weeks, and just the first one in, the last one out, and I ended up burning out.
There was a large chunk of my 20s that I, like, was just so wanting to, like, be out of that phase out of my skin.
And I just, like, really regret not living in the present more.
You don't need to have everything figured out right now.
You just need to understand yourself a little bit better.
Listen to the psychology of your 20s on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Welcome back, hour number two here at Kentucky Sports Radio.
You come on out, man.
You good.
Don't worry about it.
I'm not trying to stop the food service here at Poppies.
I'm Palomar Fountains.
Great crowd here.
Everybody gets, if you come before noon, a free margarita from Uncle Matt.
Tomorrow's National Margarita Day at all poppy's locations, 350 margaritas all day.
Good to see everybody enjoying the food.
I'm looking forward to eating someone.
This is over too.
Great food, Drew, here at Poppy's the one on campus I used to go to all the time.
I pick up right there next to the bar sometimes and drive-thru.
Oh, yeah.
I mean, the Mexican food and a drive-through, that's genius.
I know. It's not something you hear a lot.
Yeah, go there often, but this is a great spot, too.
I'm excited to have lunch and maybe put a second marguerite on your tab.
No, no.
You just one.
One is good.
All right, so I actually had, I forgot to give you all my UK basketball
trivia question from last night.
This one will tickle your brains.
All right, Ryan, we'll start with you.
All of you get an answer.
All right.
Start with players that played their whole career under either Tubby Smith,
Billy Gillespie or John Calpherry.
Okay, their whole career, not part of their career, their whole career.
What eight players scored the most points in the NCAA tournament that played for those guys.
Wow.
So now think about this.
You have to think about a lot of parts of that.
So they had to win a lot of games in the NCAA tournament.
Maybe an advantage.
Maybe if they played multiple years, they'd have had a chance for more games.
What eight players scored the most points.
in the NCAA tournament during Tubby, Gillespie, and Caliperi.
Do you have a guess?
We'll go down the roster and see who can get one.
Nobody take mine.
I'll go Tashon.
Tashon is number one.
Tashon Prince scored the most points in the NCAA tournament of any player since Tubby Smith.
Shannon the dude.
Keith Bogan's.
Keith Bogan's second on most points scored since Tuckin.
They both played four years, so that's not shocking.
Drew Franklin.
Duran Lamb.
Duran Lamb is fourth, even though he only played two years.
Eat D. Lamb was his fourth all time.
Ryan.
Gerald Fitch.
Wow.
Gerald Fitch's eighth.
Nice job, Ryan.
Almost no one got that last night.
That's a good one.
How did you get that?
Boy, played four years.
He was the leading score.
The one year they were the overall number one scene.
Great call there.
Almost no one got that one.
Shannon.
He got in the top three and number eight.
Hawkins.
Cliff?
Yes, Cliff.
No, not on the list.
Or Dominique.
either one.
Terrence Jones.
Terrence Jones is on the list.
Terrence Jones is actually sixth all time.
Excuse me, yes, sixth in points.
We got four more.
Can we get them?
There's one you're not thinking of that you should get.
Some of these are hard.
I'll chom him in if no one's ready.
Go for it.
So now there's only one more, and I'm surprised nobody's gotten it.
Anybody know out here in the crowd?
What?
Terrence Jones, somebody said, right?
Yeah, I said that.
Terrence Jones.
There's one more.
Darius Miller is the other one.
Well done.
Darius Miller is the other one.
Those are your eight.
Those are your eight.
See, not necessarily what you would think.
Four year guys, the Harrison twins, a lot of people get Aaron.
Maybe wouldn't think Andrew, but yes.
See, I would have thought maybe how Aaron deserves.
probably on that list. Andrew, I don't remember him scoring a lot in the NCAA.
But remember, Andrew got to play nine games versus, no, 10 games.
Went to the championship game and then the next year had, had four, five games, 11 games.
He played 11 games, so he got a lot of chance.
Don't forget Lamb and Jones, I mean, kind of forget that run.
They had their first year before the next season winning the titles.
So, yeah, that's why they were easy picks.
So that's why all of them are on the list.
All right, so I want to give, let me ask you all a question now with five games to go.
Give me a percentage chance of both of these.
Let's start with this.
Percentage chance we go to Nashville and win the SEC Turner.
Oh, boy.
Alabama, by the way, line just came out.
Alabama's a seven and a half point favorite tomorrow against Kentucky and Tuscaloosa.
I think Drew said that exactly.
I pat myself on the back.
That's nice.
What do you got?
I'll save five.
One in 20.
Yeah.
Even with all of our crowd and everything, one in 20?
Yeah, I think it's not really reflection on us.
It's a reflection on the other teams in the SEC.
5%. What about you?
And with three guards down, and we don't know if those guys are going to be healthy or not.
What if I told you, they all play?
If they all play?
Well, Kerr's not going to play.
But what if I told you Lamont and Jackson play?
I'll go up to 10%.
Okay.
Would that change you or still at 5?
I'm probably still at 5.
Okay.
I'm hearing the Go Big Blue chance in my head right now, so I'll go a little higher.
I will say 18.7%.
That's a good number.
That's a high number.
What do you pay?
It's a very important to play on Thursday, though.
Yeah, I agree.
Very, very important to not have that extra.
I'm going to say 10 because here's the thing.
If we're the eight seed, I think we can win that first game.
If we have Jackson, then why not?
Right?
If we have Jackson and Lamont, we got a shot.
I agree with you.
You can't play on Wednesday.
We're not winning five games.
Nobody's winning five games in that tournament.
The two teams,
it did it. I mentioned Kibba. The other one was
NC State last year.
If you remember NC State won all the ACC
tournament games and then went to the final four, but it
does not happen. If the roster is what it
is now with the injuries, I would go even lower
than Ryan's 5. I'd go more like 3%.
Okay. Now, now that you've
given that number, what is the percentage
chance we make the final four?
Is it higher
than your SEC
tournament number? That's kind of my point.
Would you put
final four at a higher
percentage than SEC?
I would.
I definitely would.
It's easier road, hypothetically.
Much easier road, actually.
I mean, we're a three seed right now in the projections, but a non-seed in the SEC tournament.
I actually think it's a much easier road.
It's an easier road.
It's also not game, game, game, game, game.
You have the two, the break.
And, you know, a lot of coaches struggle with that in between on the weekend games.
I like our coaching staff to be very prepared for every team in the region when they get to that point.
I would move it, I said 18-7 or whatever.
I'd say low-20s, 22-3.
Here's something to think about when you think about us in the NCAA tournament.
I think we're going to end up a four-seat.
That's where I just kind of feel like we're going to end.
All right, so let's say we're a four-seat.
They're probably not going to put us with Auburn, right,
because we will – I can't imagine they make a sweet 16.
game of us against Auburn.
Probably not going to put us with Florida.
I think there's a good chance for a four seed.
Who's going to be our one seed?
Duke. Duke's probably going to be our one seat
because I don't know who else you put with us
because the others are going to probably be SEC team.
So we're probably going to end up with Duke.
In a sweet 16 rematch if we got there against Duke,
let's say we're healthy.
I think we have a chance to beat them, don't you?
They have not played.
What do you mean a chance?
Duke has not played.
a top 25 team except Clemson since mid-December.
They've played one top 25 team since mid-December.
And we match up pretty well with them.
You know, they don't scare us, I think.
We met up with them again.
And by the way, when they play Clipson, they lost.
That's the only time they've played a top 25 team since December.
And if you keep it close, you know Cooper Flag will fall down.
We'd like to see that again.
But, I mean, you've got to play somebody hard at that point.
Why wouldn't you rip the logo off that it says, Duke,
Why wouldn't you want to play a team you've already beat?
Totally agree.
And if we stay a three seed, I look at the two seeds, and I'm not scared to any of them.
I don't know about you.
I'm not scared of Iowa State.
I'm not scared of Marquette.
I'm not scared of Purdue.
I mean, none of those teams really scare me at all if we end up as a three seed.
I really think, depending who it is early in that tournament, the SEC has been such a gauntlet.
Those first few games, I hope I'm not jinx in this, but that could be a relief of opponent that's not an SEC team.
I totally agree with you.
You could see Mississippi State in the second weekend of the season.
the NCAA tournament. That's what Bracketology has now. Or you could also play them on Thursday
of the SEC. By the way, the SEC tournament is going to be awesome. I mean, it's going to be like
Nashville. I hope we win a couple games so our crowd can get into it because I think it's going to be
the best SEC tournament that there's ever been. Who's up next? Connor is up next. Connor, go ahead,
Connor. Hey, Matt, good to talk to you. I wanted to call in and make a little statement here.
I live in Fayetteville, Arkansas, unfortunately.
And I just wanted to let you guys know.
I think Chuck Norris would have been startled how fast these fans jumped out the bushes when they beat UK.
They've been quiet all year.
They can't fill their arena.
Man, they jumped out so quick when they beat UK.
And, you know, they jumped right back in the bushes since that game.
Well, that's true.
They have.
You know, but again, appreciate the call.
Give you a sense of how good the SEC is.
that Arkansas team has two first round picks on it
and took the number one team in America to the end of the game on their home court
and you know what they're seated in the SEC tournament?
13th.
Golly.
I mean, that's kind of amazing, Drew.
Yeah, and I watched most of the game the other night,
and at one point they said,
DJ Wagner is shooting under 20% in the SEC,
which made me slam my head against my desk,
thinking of what he did in the Kentucky game.
Is he really shooting under 20?
because he shot well.
Yeah, I was like, God, just shows if you look at their percentages and their results,
that is such an outlier in Lexington.
It is crazy the gap between that and the rest of their games.
Have you been following, by the way, the Arkansas guy, Shannon, who did his show at KS.
Bar, John, Neighbors?
I have not been.
So, you know, when he came to Lexington, he did his show at KS Bar.
He was very nice, so I got no ill will towards him at all.
But the Lexington Airport lost his luggage.
Uh-oh, uh-oh.
That's heat right there.
Wink, wink, wink.
The Lexington Airport lost his luggage, and he still hasn't gotten it back.
And he tweets about it all the time.
And I think he genuinely believes the Lexington Airport intentionally lost his luggage.
But I think that's kind of funny.
And of all places.
I mean, I wish he hadn't gotten it.
Of all places in Lexington.
They can't find the guy's luggage.
I don't know.
I would probably be like him.
I'm like, let's come on.
It's not even that big in airport.
It's not that.
It can't, but they cannot find his luggage.
You know, now that I think of it, I did see a suitcase over on New Circle Road hanging
up in the trees when I drove over here today, so.
So, well, you know, we may have lost the game, but at least we got some luggage.
Who's up next?
Richard is up next.
Richard, go ahead, Richard.
Yeah, I'd like to know.
When will they have the old day to sign it?
It comes out like right after our show.
It can't play like they did the other night.
Just go big boo.
We'll see what they do.
Thank you.
Appreciate it, Richard.
It comes out.
out right after this show. So it'll come out at like 1, 1.30, something like that.
Pope also has a noon press conference. I mean, not that he's going to reveal everything,
but maybe he'll have an update too. Do you suspect it's going to change at all?
No. I don't either. I would suspect, if I'm just guessing, I would suspect Robinson Butler out
tomorrow. I think for the Oklahoma game, you'll see Butler become like questionable,
maybe even play. And then I expect this is just me to see Butler play for the Auburn game.
and I think their goal is to get Robinson for the SEC tournament.
I'm taking the view of that first game in the SEC tournament,
Shannon, if Jackson Robinson doesn't play,
then we just have to mentally expect he's not going to play.
But I think Butler is going to play,
and I still think Robinson will give it a go before it's over.
Obviously, we went both back,
but if you had to pick one or the other,
I think I would rather have Butler back.
I think that the offense just looks different when he's running the point,
and obviously what he adds to defense is a big plus as well.
I think, Drew, Robinson,
is huge when you play a team like Alabama, where you got to score a lot, or a team like
Florida. But pretty much every other game, I'd rather have Butler. So I think against more
opponents, Butler is going to matter. It's going to hurt us not to have Robinson against a team
that scores a lot of points. But I think against like your, you know, Auburn, South Carolina,
is you want to have Butler. I don't know I said South Carolina, but you know what I mean.
Yeah. Pope said we're not using injuries an excuse, but you can't convince me they couldn't
to finish the job against Texas with Butler
ball on his hand. You're up five with under
four minutes to go. That's when everything just fell apart.
A lot of it was in ball handling and point guards.
I think they finished that game. It might even have one more win if Butler never got
hurt. If I were to make you predict which of those guys play
in the NCAA tournament, let's just assume Creece is out.
Who plays? Butler.
Just Butler?
I think you have picking one of the other.
No, would you say both?
I think they both end up playing because like I said, they're fifth year
seniors, man. They came to Kentucky to play.
play in these big games, they're going to tough it out somehow.
Even if they're hurting, they're going to play in the NCAA.
Butler plays, I think, and then Jackson left-handed.
By the way, I don't think that's crazy.
I actually think what you, I think that's, to me, that's the most likely scenario.
We get close to 100% Butler, and we get a Robinson who's doing the best he can.
That's kind of what I think we get.
He's like Ricky the Dragon.
Yeah, he's like Keith Bogans with his ankle just trying to hang on there during the tournament.
I know a little more about Butler than Robinson.
I don't have a clue on Robinson, but I expect.
both by tournament time. I definitely
expect Butler back, but with Robinson, I really
don't know, I haven't heard much, and just, I'm
hoping there. I'm expecting Butler
just me for the
Auburn game next week at Rupp.
I don't know if he'll get into Oklahoma next
week, but I'm going to expect we see him for
that Auburn game. That's just me. With Butler,
I almost feel like they're going to get to a point where there's
hoping they've got enough wins. Like, maybe
heck, if you win tomorrow and surprise everyone,
you keep them on ice a little longer, it's just
it's going to be kind of like a break in case
an emergency situation. I think that's, I
I think if you were to talk to UK and they were to be honest,
I think they want to get a three seed.
And they're trying to figure out how do you piece together to get a three seed?
And then if they can do that, then they would sit guys out until they could do it.
If they beat in Texas, they'd be there and they didn't do it.

What's up, fam?
It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm CJ Toledano,
and our podcast Point Game is about defining the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs
without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows.
Without Luca and Austin Reeves,
I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges
of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us
on the night-to-night bases on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by,
like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court,
licking his fingers while he got the ball.
Like, you go through a training camp
with that Isaiah, you feel.
figure it out real quick.
Oh, yeah.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.

That is the point of the show.
I'm just going to remind you.
I have watched some survivor.
I obviously haven't watched enough.
Did people not like it?

Yeah.

Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio here at Poppies.
Hi, Poppy, you can come and have great food. How's the food?
Great. That's what I like to hear. Thank you all very much for coming.
You still got, what, 40 minutes to get here and get a margarita on me.
And tomorrow's National Margaritas Day, 350.
all day on Saturday.
I want to quickly a little sad note talk about two people who passed away yesterday.
One, one of my childhood friends, probably the person I remember the youngest grew up with named
Vance, Michael went to church with him all through my youth in high school and played tennis.
His father passed away.
He's been in my life for my entire life.
He lives in Georgetown now, Doug Michael.
So prayers to the Michael family.
also in Georgetown, a sports, sort of a Kentucky sports legend that also became the mayor of Georgetown.
Mutt Varnie, which I always remember because of his name, because Larry went to Berea College,
and he always said Mutt Varnie was the best player in Berea history.
And I remembered his name because as a kid, Mutt Varnie is a funny name.
The only player in Berea College history to have his jersey retired, Mutt Varnie passed away.
He later became the mayor of Georgia.
And so he passed away yesterday as well.
So prayers to both of those families.
Larry was very, very close to Doug Michael and to Mut-Varney, so he was very sad last night.
You're telling that story, and it all comes back to me.
Yeah, he was the leading score at Borea until just not that long ago.
I think a guy just passed him.
Yeah, he had it for like 40, 50 years or something like that.
I think his coach was Rowland, Wurwilly.
That's it.
And Mutt-Varney, the player.
So a little Berea College basketball.
We just don't have great names like Mudd Varney anymore.
You know, people don't name their kids Mutt anymore.
And maybe they shouldn't, but it is a great name.
Like Elon might name his next one, Mutt.
I mean, they just keep coming every few days.
So maybe he can.
859-280-2287.
Quickly, the women's team, let's talk about their weekend.
They won last night.
So they have set up.
They have a three-game stretch.
It's a pretty amazing set of opponents.
It's LSU, Tennessee, and South Carolina to finish the year.
They beat Missouri on the road.
So tonight, the gymnastics team goes against LSU's women's gymnastics team.
Livy Dunn is apparently now a coach.
So I guess she doesn't, she's like, she's 50, but I was told she doesn't leap and do anything anymore.
I don't know what I'm talking about.
She'll probably be here tonight for everybody who cares about that.
But either way, LSU and Kentucky gymnastics, if you've never been, I don't even know if they're sold out,
but if you've never been, that crowd gets absolutely insane.
It's a lot of young girls who are excited to be there, and it's loud, and that is tonight,
then Sunday Kentucky plays LSU and women's basketball at Rupp.
Now, I don't know if you saw Kenny Brooks last night.
He was a little chesty.
Did you see that?
In his post game comments?
He asked him about LSU, and he said something like, yeah, we're supposed to be in a game like this.
And you know what?
We're supposed to win a game like this.
So he said, bring it on.
Nice.
He was like, hey, Kim Mulkey, come get some.
I like that.
I like that.
And, you know, we had George on the show a few weeks ago, and together they went to a final four.
So they know basketball success, and they're not afraid of anyone.
I love that attitude from a program that really didn't have any business being on the floor with LSU for several years.
now they're ready to take on that challenge on Sunday.
So that game is sold out.
That game is completely sold out.
I think I was talking to the woman who covers Kentucky for the Herald leader,
and she asked me when I thought they would have that good.
I think it's been since what?
Maybe when Don Staley and South Carolina came in here against Matthew Mitchell,
and they were number one, and we were in the top ten,
that's probably the last time we've had an atmosphere like we'll have Sunday against Ellis.
Yeah, it just doesn't happen that a lot from when you came.
women's basketball. Pat Summitt brought in our number one team. They played it rough and Kentucky
beat them one time. That's a huge problem. That was with Mickey DeMoss. Mickey DeMoss, yeah.
But you're right. It may have to go back to that Matthew Mitchell versus Don Staley. They didn't
like each other either, did they? They did not? No, they didn't. We lost that game. It was close.
But Matthew Mitchell and Don Staley would like stand and like kind of yapping each other during the game.
I have no idea what I'm talking about. I could be wrong. But I got the sense, Drew, watching
Kenny Brooks. He might not like Kim Mulkey all that much. I couldn't tell for sure, but it seemed
like maybe he didn't. So maybe we'll get some of that too. Yeah, and I think if you were to
pull all the women's basketball coaches, she would probably get a negative approval rating.
I think just the way she carries herself sometimes is a little off-putting to everyone, but I'm
excited to just see what she wears. She had an amazing sweater that looked like a net a few weeks ago.
I wanted to buy it. I look for it online. But it's incredible. It has like a rim at the top.
Like a net dangles at the bottom.
It was awful.
If you start wearing Kim Mulkey sweaters, I'm going to love that.
Don't forget the hills that go with it, too.
We're both fashion forward.
So if you're going to either of those games, we're having like little pregame things at the bar.
I hope you'll come back.
And if the Kentucky, you know, I think the women's game won on Sunday.
Four.
Okay.
So a little celebratory dinner.
I think all three games for Kentucky, the next three women's games are on regular television.
You don't have to watch them online.
They'll be on either ESPN or the SEC network.
Who's up next?
Bob is up next.
Bob, go ahead, Bob.
Hey, you guys switch topics so fast that my comments are fairly irrelevant at this point, but I'll give me.
They're always good.
Go for it.
In terms of hockey, have any of you guys ever heard the old Archie Campbell hockey here tonight?
No, I don't even know what those words mean.
Okay, well, you guys.
of YouTube it or something you got to find it it is hilarious you remember Archie
Campbell was on he-haw for years and you know oh okay I didn't know we do know
he-haw I do know he-ha but okay I do know he-ha but okay well it's hilarious
you got to look it up it's called hockey here tonight I will look it up okay the
other comment is about the Yankees and talking about the facial hair and everything
of course now the Yankee I mean being Yankee
saying since I was a kid, you know, they even had to Shunter.
And even last year, the catcher, you know.
I had to let you go.
We got to go to break.
They did allow mustaches.
They didn't allow beers.
That was the rule.
We'll take a break and be right back.
This is Kentucky Sports Radio.
Welcome back.
It is Kentucky Sports Radio here live at Puppies.
We have had a great crowd.
I like the bell ringing over there.
Thank you very much to Marcos and all the folks here.
The National Margarita Day tomorrow.
You still got 30 minutes to get a margarita on me today.
Shout out to Sophia in Virginia.
I think your dad just said you're listening.
I appreciate it.
Two pieces of news, one good, one bad.
Let me give the bad one first because it's going to make this guy next to me really sad.
Uh-oh.
Bloomberg is reporting that Hooters is declaring bankrupt.
Oh, no.
Makes me sad, too.
I really like their food a lot.
This is on your hands, Ryan.
We used to have our business meetings there like once a month.
And it was only for you.
We haven't done it in a long time.
I think we're partially to blame.
We maybe are partially to blame.
So, all right.
Well, I guess declaring bankruptcy doesn't mean it will go away,
but it just means they're going to have to, I don't know what they're going to have to do.
Redo something.
Something is not working, huh?
Something is not working.
And then I think this is good news.
Shannon, I hear through the grapevine for the first time ever, you got credentialed by the SEC.
Yes, I did.
You know, you guys all got your email at the same time.
You were all approved.
I go, well, I didn't get one.
I guess that means they're going to send out the decline to emails later, but I got approved.
So I hear that you actually filled it out this year and put Shannon the dude the dude,
Grigsby.
I did.
Yep, I put the dude in quotation marks.
I think maybe that's the reason.
They didn't know who Shannon Grigsby was.
I had to put the dude on there.
I guarantee that's the reason.
They flat out said.
We didn't know who Shannon Grigsby was.
When I went to the guy, his name is Craig Pinkerton, I think.
He's been doing it for like 20 years.
And I went up to him last year and I was like, why didn't you approve him?
And I said, he was like, I don't know who that is.
And I said, it's Shannon the dude.
And he goes, well, why didn't he write the dude?
Yeah.
Well, thank you, Mr. Pinkerton.
I mean, I bet Kentucky Sports Radio.
I would think you would see Shannon, Kentucky Sports Radio.
But he didn't know who's the dude.
Now.
Mario forgot to fill out his form.
Uh-oh.
Mario.
How could you forget to fill out your form?
He's so excited.
You're what?
Now, here's what's interesting.
Here's what's interesting about Mario.
So, you know, my buddies, my college buddies, we all get like a house that we all stay in.
I heart is getting one room which Ryan and Shannon are taking.
Which means Mario is going to have to stay in this house with like 10,
40-year-old men.
And I'm sure Mario is very excited about that, Drew.
I think he'll have fun, but I can see the nervousness in his eyes of him.
He's like, here are 9 40-year-old men you don't know.
You're staying here right now.
Mario, the year was 2010.
And Matt took me to the SEC tournament, and he said,
these are all my friends.
They're going to be your friends this week.
They're still my friends today.
You're going to love them.
Now, granted.
Now, we're older now than we were back then.
They might have all left to bar.
In fact, it was a Hooters.
Tooters Nashville.
They all left early and left me there by myself.
But, you know, over time, they've become some of my best friends, too.
So you're just getting started in your turn.
And two of those guys got kicked out of the Hooters that night.
That's right.
They're all older, but all still act the same.
Turns out you can't fall asleep on top of a pitcher of beer at the table.
You're not loud to do that.
So if you are going to the SEC tournament, we're talking about it.
We're probably if Kentucky plays on Thursday, we're probably going to do our big show in public on Thursday, just in case.
because if we were to lose on Thursday, I wouldn't want to do it to an empty arena on Friday.
So if you're coming to Nashville, expect to see us do our thing on Thursday.
Who's up first?
Do you have a concert?
Is Alice Blue.
Oh, yes, we are.
We're playing Thursday night, so I hope that they went on Thursday as well.
So Alice Bluegown will also be playing on Thursday night at the SEC term as well.
Who's next?
Jackson is up next.
Jackson, go ahead, Jackson.
Hey, guys.
How are you all doing?
Doing good.
Love poppies, man.
They're great, and the margaritas are good.
Wish I wasn't working.
I'd come have one.
Well, somebody will drink yours for you, but go ahead.
I'm sure they will.
I just had one quick question.
Go for it.
Every time, because I always work,
and I have to listen to it on podcast.
Every time I click on, it's like,
release today, hour one,
release today, hour two.
It always goes back to the post-game show,
and I can't never, I don't know what's going on.
Do you have any?
So sometimes this happens on Apple especially,
but sometimes Spotify, sometimes your thing gets stuck.
If you delete the app and then put it back on, it'll catch up.
It'll catch up on its own anyway,
but sometimes it takes a few days if it gets stuck.
So reset, unsubscribe, delete all the episodes,
and then come back, it'll work.
I'm like Ron.
I'm on Android.
Amen.
Well, same thing happened.
Sometimes your feed gets stuck.
Just delete all the episodes, unsubscribe, and then resubscribing.
It'll work.
Well, thank you guys.
I appreciate your show and appreciate you keeping the BB in rolling.
And all the effort and the fun that you guys put into this show makes it worthwhile.
Appreciate the call.
Thank you.
Tom Hart just wrote me and said, why does Shannon always put up the second hour before the first hour?
People really dislike that.
but you're never going to change.
Well, I'll tell you what, Tom, if you don't like it,
you can come upload the podcast.
How about that?
Or can have Billy do it?
I mean, that'd be fine.
That'd be one less thing I have to do,
along with other six shows.
Billy is barely able to sit up over there.
I can tell you.
Oh, no.
He's already in the bargarita.
What is he doing?
Oh, goodness.
Billy Marks, slow down, son.
Billy, the amount of Billy hate I've gotten in my feed
since his filming people on the airplane has been unparalleled.
If Billy wants to be.
was a stock we're we're in a dip right now it's a little bit of decline this billy was a stock bloomberg's
reporting on bankruptcy coming he'll be back though he might time to buy in billy right he might need
to reorganize and come back who's next todd is up next Todd go ahead Todd hey guys I appreciate
you're talking about mutt barney I attended his basketball camp when I was a child and he was my
assistant principal in high school but one little other fact that you didn't mention
about Hayburn, Jim Barney?
Yes?
That was a cousin of his.
I did not know that.
Oh, Ernest.
Ernest.
See, we learned something new every day.
Absolutely.
Appreciate the call, sir.
Thank you very much.

Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind.
Highlights are trending, opinions are flying,
and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where Sports Slice comes in.
I'm Timbo.

and the stories behind the headlines.
We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves,
their locker room stories, their reactions,
the stuff nobody gets to hear.
The laughs, the drama, the triumphs,
the moments that never make the...
highlight reel. From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls,
we break it down, give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants answered.

Ryan Clark. Sometimes
when we're in the pursuit of the thing,
we get so wrapped up in the chase
that we don't realize that we
are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch. Life
becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns,
Dustin Ross, because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on Earth?
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

What's up, fam?
This Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledana.
in our podcast point game is about defining the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves,
I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reed.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court, licking his fingers while he got the ball.
Like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcasts.
Hey, everyone.
It's Ryder Strong and Willfordell from PodMeets World.
And now the Pod Meets Twirled podcast.
We're two men who were completely clueless to reality TV,
who now have covered Dancing with the Stars, traitors,
and we're gearing up for the season finale of Survivor.
So yeah, now we're experts.
I know we annoyed a lot of our listeners by our severe lack of survivor knowledge.
That is the point of the show.
I'm just going to remind you.
I have watched some Survivor.
obviously haven't watched enough.
Did people not like it?
Like what was just because we?
Yeah.
We'll be recapping the big conclusion in the 50th season from the final attempts at
gameplay to the desperate pleas of finalists to a bunch of ha-hoo.
Ah, ha, ooh.
Again, we are experts.
So make sure to tune into Pod Meets Twirled for all our Survivor 50 takes.

Back it is the final segment here at Kentucky Sports Radio.
Poppy's Mexican restaurant.
We are out here at Palomar Fountains,
and there are three locations.
Thank you for them as host.
Great Taco Week is coming up.
They got a heated patio outside.
Got a full house here tonight,
and I hope everybody,
everybody enjoy their margarita they got today.
Good.
Seems a little more lively here at the end of the show
after their margaritas.
And you can bring your babies on Wednesday
because kids eat free.
Kids eat free on Wednesday.
That's why I come here six days.
a week. Wednesday is the one day that I try to try to avoid. Okay, so from Draft Kings, time to make
our Draft Kings picks of the week. Go to draft kings.com. We're going to go through the SEC games.
Just tell me who's going to win. Texas is at South Carolina. Do they, South Carolina get their first
win? Yes, South Carolina gets the win. I am agreeing. I'm going to go yes. No, sorry. I think
they're going winless. Texas kind of needs this game to be sure on the
tournament. I think South Carolina gets their first win. I think it happens today. Missouri is at Arkansas.
Speaking of a huge game, this is basically a win and you're in for Cal lose. Their schedule
they can still make it, but this is a win in your end. Do you think Cal gets a victory over Missouri?
I think Missouri is playing better than anybody in the conference right now. Even Auburn. I pick
Missouri. Cal's got a, you know, he wins these games. You think he has no chance. But I'm still going to pick
Missouri tomorrow. He wins the games when they're on the road. He doesn't always win him at home.
I'm going to take Missouri to win. Big Z, you don't have to make them all. You just can't miss
them all like you did in the last game. I think that was their shot to pull off an upset and they
fell apart at the end. They lose this one. Florida is at LSU. LSU's been playing pretty good
here in the last couple weeks getting into our game. Any chance they win at home against Florida?
I'm taking Florida in that one. Give me Florida. Florida. I'm going to take Florida.
George is at Auburn. That won't be a game. Old Miss at Vandy. Can you're
Big game for Vandy and making the turns.
A lot of teams playing.
This is a big one for Vandy.
Do they get the win?
Vandy's on the bubble, you know, last four end.
So I think Vandy does win this game tomorrow.
I'm going to look with Shannon.
I'm going to take Vandy.
I've only picked favorites.
I'll go Vandy here.
I'll go with the Commodores winning as a dog.
I'm going to take Ole Miss.
They'll have probably half the crowd.
Mississippi State at Oklahoma.
Oklahoma's been reeling.
They're probably out of the tournament right now.
But if they want to make it, probably got to win this game
and then beat us next week.
Do you think they do it?
Mississippi State gets them. Give me the Bulldogs.
Oklahoma's done. They'll have a new coach
next year and they'll lose this game. Mississippi State.
Finally, the game, Kentucky and Alabama
is a huge game, but the other big game of the weekend,
top 10 matchup, Tennessee
is at Texas A&M.
This is number six versus
seven in the country. A&M wins
this. They could be a two-seat
in the NCAA tournament. Nobody's really
talked about it. Who you got? Yeah, Texas
A&M, I think if some of the games
fall right, they could be even a number one seat
in the NCAA tournament. Tennessee is still kind of
suspect to me. I think A&M wins this game tomorrow. By the way, we want Tennessee to win
because, or really either one of these teams, because we have a tiebreaker on both of them
in the SEC seating. Yeah, that A&M game and Rob proved to be a really big win. Even though
they destroyed Lamont Bueller and they're the reason he's out, I'm going with A&M. It's an 11 a.m.
Local start there, which I think is kind of weird, will probably hurt their crowd, so I will
take Tennessee to get the win on the road. Who's up next?
Got Noah up next.
Noah.
By the way, do we beat LSU in women's?
Oh.
Yeah, why not?
I'm going to say yes.
This is our game.
LSU's not been playing.
We're winning Sunday.
I don't know about the gymnastics today, but we're winning basketball.
Libby's done tonight.
Oh, get it?
Ring that bell.
I don't even know how they score, but we're winning by 3.2 points.
All right, go ahead, sir.
Oh, you're good.
How's it?
How's it?
First time a long time.
Who are?
What's up?
shout out to
Shannon for the
getting
confirmed with the SEC
awesome bullet county
connection there
secondly
prayers out to
eastern Kentucky
hopefully they can
get some relief
absolutely terrible
we got a lot of family down there
and thirdly
lastly pretty excited about the rest of the
basketball season
a little bit of a rocky road
coming up but I think
it'll all work on this time
all right thank
hope you're right
appreciate to call.
Yeah, Shannon's big time now.
You're officially a media member.
That's right.
Unlike Billy, who claimed to be a journalist on the plane, you actually are a journalist
getting to go to the game.
It only took me 15 years.
You know?
Right to go.
I'm still hope for anybody out there.
You're going to ask a question in the press conference?
I'm right.
You have to.
Yeah, you got to ask a question.
Who's this guy?
Shane of the dude, you may have heard of it.
Oh, wait, I thought you were going to ask the coach.
Who's this guy?
Yeah, well, you should do that.
First game.
Who are you?
Who's next?
Greg is up next
Greg go ahead Greg
Hey guys how you doing
Good
Greg
did you all are having to catch that
Dr. Memory we beat the dream team
You watched it last night
What did you think about it?
I watched it last night
It's outstanding
I've never seen that footage before
Jamal Mash presented a lot
But Coach K comes out as a jerk
In this one
He is a jerk
Are you surprised he's always a jerk
I mean he takes it to another level
He yelled at my ex-girlfriend.
Like, I mean, of course.
Let me ask you this.
Before you watch the documentary,
did you think that Coach K's a really good guy?
He's a nice guy, and it just, like, opened your eyes, right?
Well, it's just like he's almost anti-American what he does.
What do you mean he's anti-American?
I don't want to spoil it for you.
Wow.
Who knew he was anti-American?
Now I've got to watch it.
All right.
Sir, did you think Coach K was anti-American?
No, but he's definitely rat face, that's for sure.
Okay, well
He burned a flag
I haven't seen this yet
In 15 seconds you call him
Anti-American and Ratface
I feel like that must be a heck of a documentary
I appreciate the call
Who's next?
Chad is up next
Chad, go ahead Chad
Hello
Yes
Hey Matt
We've been talking about all these different
lineups recently
And with watching the game the other night
And if we don't get the
Car back in the lineup by
tomorrow.
Well, he's playing.
Carr played the last game.
Carr played in the last game.
He's back.
He started.
Yep.
Okay.
So what if they put Colin Chandler in as a point?
Because he looked a lot more comfortable running that point than what Travis
Perry did.
Perry did be at the two.
And you got all the way.
Yeah, we're not playing Perry.
We're not playing Perry at the two.
I mean, that's not going to work.
I mean, if you had Chandler and Perry at your guards,
you're going to get destroyed in the back.
Let me ask you a question. I appreciate the call. Any chance you would consider starting Colin Chandler, point guard?
I know he's not really played well this year, but he played great in the last game. Would you consider that at Alabama?
Maybe, but I think Travis has started games pretty well. Just the wills fell off at Texas.
I would still start Travis, but Colin has absolutely earned more minutes. Of all the freshmen and really a lot of people on the team, defensively, he's been one of the most active players all year.
It's just his offense has been so bad. So him getting seven points in the last.
last game might have been a little bit of a breakthrough for him being more all-around
contribution even when he was playing really bad offensively Ryan he was pretty good
defensively he actually would was decent guarding the ball so I can see him I think he's going to get
minutes at Alabama don't you think oh I think he gets a lot of minutes because we talk about those
alabels three guards you know somebody's got a guard sears hollowell pedigrew there's three good
guards who's going to guard him that's why channel's going to be on the field on the
court a lot I think just for defensive reasons I have to tell you
There's not been a bigger surprise to me than how Chandler played at the point.
Maybe that's where you got to play him.
Because, like, he has looked so lost on offense all year.
And then all of a sudden, when he was at the point, it was almost like Drew it unleashed
whatever his strength, whatever that is.
Yeah, he had a couple bad turnovers, but we'll forgive those for all the other stuff he did.
He had a great finish at the rim where he got fouled.
I like when he drove to the rim and he threw it over to, I believe,
Carr in the corner who knocked down a three.
And he did another one.
The guy just missed the shot.
Yeah.
And just, you know, Trent and Travis both offer a lot, but athletically,
Colin Chandler's another level just as pure athleticism.
And I think they need that.
He can, I think part of the reason Pope is so high on him is he is a good athlete.
Like some of these other guys, athleticism is not their strict.
He is a good athlete if he can get the skills.
He dunked on Brandon Garrison hard in the blue-white game.
I mean, he looked like a different player.
And that's just a practice scrimmage.
You can make an argument.
he's like our second best athlete on the team, at least of the perimeter players behind
no way. No doubt. So who's up next? Justin is next. Justin, I got like a minute. Go ahead.
Hey, guys. I'm from Eastern Kentucky, born and raised in Popple. I just want to call you all and
appreciate you all for all the thoughts and prayers you had for us. Well, we got flooded and hit
with this nasty snowstorm over the week. Well, listen, I mean, we probably haven't talked about
enough because of what's going on. But I hope people don't.
to the governor's fund ARH, but our prayers are with you.
I hope we can get out there before.
I want to come to Pikeville before we go to the SEC tournament,
but I want all of you all to know.
We are thinking about you, the people in this crowd,
like Kentucky is a state that comes together,
and I know that's gonna happen for this as well,
but I don't think this, go ahead.
This, I don't think people realize,
this hasn't quite gotten the coverage,
the last one did, but I don't think people realize the amount of devastation there, sir.
Well, we appreciate you. This was, I believe this was the worst than the 22 flood we had.
I think in terms of widespread damage it is. It's not the same death toll, but in terms of widespread
damage, it may be worse. I appreciate the call. Don Franklinato.com, 27 locations around the state.
If you need a vehicle, go to Don Franklin. Great service. Great family. Great selection. It is Don
Franklin Auto.com. No reason to buy a car in Kentucky if you don't go to Don Franklin
First at Don Franklin Auto.com. The game tomorrow's at six o'clock. Pre-game show will be at
3.30. I expect it to be a very crowded KS bar, so make sure you get there early if you want
to watch the game. We'll be doing the show in studio because it's a road game, but the bar will
be ready to watch the game. Poppies, thank you all very much for hosting us. This is a great
option to watch the game too here with all the television.
Margarita Day tomorrow. Thank you guys for coming out.
This was an awesome crowd out here at Palomar.
We will see you tomorrow at 3.30.

and giving you the real story
behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source
the athletes themselves.
Their locker room stories,

and the stuff nobody gets to hear.

but they can also be really overwhelming, confusing, and honestly, just kind of
