Starting point is 00:02:39 presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now, here's Matt Jones. Welcome, everyone, Kentucky Sports Radio Tuesday. March the 18th, I'm Matt Jones here at the KS Bar and Grill in Lexington, Kentucky, where it is a beautiful day, and we are two days away. Well, actually, the tournament starts tonight. It's right.
Starting point is 00:02:59 Officially, but unofficially, I would say, really starts in two days. You can give us Shannon Clark's Pubmet Shop phone line 859-2-80-2-887. A-Visian Autoglass Text Machine is 772-7-7-4 in this edition, sponsored by the T.J. Smith Law Office. If you call T.J. I'll make them pay. Ryan, we are here in Lexington today and tomorrow at KS. Bar before heading up towards Milwaukee. I got in late last night. Been a long couple days. I'm not going to lie to you. It started in Nashville on Sunday, went to New York, then Bristol, Connecticut, back to New York, back to Louisville to Lexington, and now we're ready to go. Well, you got 24 hours to rest up because we're back in the car on Wednesday. Yes, and tomorrow we head to Milwaukee, so I don't know how you could, I don't know how you could be any more excited, Drew, for this time.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Looking forward to having the best burger in the world at cops. By the way, I don't believe that. It's not going to be the best burger in the world. I bet it's a good burger, maybe not the best in the world. All these people, like in every town in America, someone says to you, would you like the best burger in the world? Yep. It's down the street. And then he says there's a custard line.
Starting point is 00:04:06 Like, come on. I don't, I'm going in skeptical. Now, with that said, I remember my ex-girlfriend said that there's this place in Akron, Ohio, that has the best burger in the world. I made fun of it for like a year. And then we went, and it was really good. I don't know about best in the world, but the Akron, Ohio, it's the one LeBron always wanted. that they deliver it to him when he plays in Cleveland. It was really good.
Starting point is 00:04:29 So I'm willing to say that I'm wrong. I just don't believe. I did my research. There's a lot of national lists that it's ranked in the top 20. It's not just a local praise. It gets some national praise. So I'm looking forward to trying it. We will try.
Starting point is 00:04:41 And staying away from the lakefront after 9 p.m. He's got me scared now about the lakefront. I'm going to the plan was. I was going to surprise you. I'll take you the lakefront at 945. No, no. But apparently now we can't do it, Shannon. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:54 Well, you can be afraid. when we go to the haunted bar, because I did my research on that yesterday. Shakers cigar bar is the haunted bar that you're talking about in Milwaukee. So you do want to go to that? Yeah. All right. Get a Stogey and an old-fashioned and a ghost. I wouldn't even know what to do with a Stoge.
Starting point is 00:05:11 Just light it? I'm actually not good at that. Someone's one time tried to get me to do a cigar and it's hard, they're hard to light. They're hard to light. I understand what you're saying. It's a little different. And I don't, I think cigarettes are. Cigarettes are gross.
Starting point is 00:05:27 And I think, I really do. I think cigarettes are like the grossest thing in the world. And then cigars are about there. But one time somebody was like, just light it so you can feel the whatever. The only whatever. What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:05:41 What are you feeling? The taste of cigar action. And I didn't, and it's hard. You have to, I mean, see, you're going to use this drop.
Starting point is 00:05:50 I was going to see you have to suck on it. But that's what you do. You do. You don't inhale. Exactly. I was like, I don't want to do that either. We'll teach you at a what's name, Shane. I was sitting there watching White Lotus last night, and they were just like, they took some drug, and I thought, I would never do it. It took me a six months to get up to cornbread hemp.
Starting point is 00:06:11 Like, I'm like the least, I don't want my mind altered. I'm like good with where it is. So you're good eating a cop's burger. That may be a life-altering experience for you. I don't know how I got from this to that. Yeah, but not a cigar. I'm with you, though. I'm not a cigar fan or a cigarette fan. But I'll go there because it's supposedly a haunted bar.
Starting point is 00:06:30 Yeah. So we go to Milwaukee, looking forward to that. I want to give a shout out to, we mentioned them yesterday, the Ladies of KSR. Yes. So how about what they've done here? I'm going to take a picture of it. They have put together a Ladies of KSR cookbook. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:45 They have gotten all, you know, the women in that group who they, who are, you know, listeners of the show have put together their recipes. for me, I'm sure, but really for everyone. And it's like all the listeners have put together their best recipes. I guess they did like a thing on the asking for people to send them. They also, unbeknownst to me, contacted my mom. And my mom has added three recipes. I actually think you all could sell this. I think if you took a Ladies of KSR cookbook and sold,
Starting point is 00:07:16 there'd be people that buy it, especially if they knew my mom's was on there, her breakfast casserole that you always talk about. I love that. It is the best breakfast. casserole ever. It is so good. It's the first recipe in the cookbook. So like, so first of all, thank you. Thank you, Jennifer. Thank you, Jennifer, and then all the folks that had something to do with it. That's very cool. And I'll, uh, when I, when I get into some, in April, when I start doing it. April. Okay. Well, no, I've done a little bit. All right. What have you done?
Starting point is 00:07:43 I don't want to talk. This is going to be, what's going to happen is all of a sudden you're going to have a meal for me. Whoa, slow down, big boy. By the end of the summer, you're going to fix this all a meal. You're going to have a meal for me. I noticed. And I'll even use one of these recipes. Okay. I don't know which one, but I'll use one. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:00 For the meal that I cook this. I noticed the first one is the breakfast casserole we all love. But later in the book, some of these are labeled Matthew's favorites. So it looks like Karen, it's... Oh, what did she put? Are you big on cornbread sage dressing? I love the cornbread safe dress. It has an asterisk that says Matthew's favorite.
Starting point is 00:08:15 Same with the potatoes. Potatoes? Yes. So, make me hungry right now. She's excited to make Matthew's favorites. Yes. My mom, the potatoes and the cornbread. dressing both very, very good.
Starting point is 00:08:25 Your mom's a master in the kitchen. I don't want to try that. Did she pass that down? I don't want to try the cornbread drink because I see it takes her forever and she's got to put like flour and weight and all these things in it. Did you say weight? I said wheat. I don't know if wheat's in it. But she just has to put all of these things in and it feels like it takes a long time.
Starting point is 00:08:43 You got your own ground beef master too. Yeah, so since some listener, I guess, sent me. Oh, you came with the cookbook. I have a ground beef master for me to, you know. You picked that up and wasn't for sure what it was? Yeah, but now I know, and I can add it to my... You got all kind of goodies when you came in today. She made his cookies?
Starting point is 00:09:01 So thank you to the ladies of KSR for that. And now we're ready for tournament time, right? So what are the games tonight? What's the 11th? North Carolina. San Diego State. Controversial North Carolina plays tonight. The entire country roots for San Diego State tonight,
Starting point is 00:09:16 especially all of us here with Lamont Butler being an alumnus from there. We're definitely for them. Yeah. And also, I mean, everybody was talking about Bubba Cunningham and all that. Part of it is which game was America more likely to watch? West Virginia, San Diego State or North Carolina, San Diego State. It's a good point.
Starting point is 00:09:34 We also have Alabama State and St. Francis thing. Is that what it is? That's the first game. North Carolina is the late one. Alabama State. So U.N.C. is the draw. I feel like there's a St. Francis in every state. Is this Pennsylvania?
Starting point is 00:09:50 This is the PA version. I believe it is, yes. St. of Pennsylvania and Alabama State. Too long time. So they're leading off the tournament. The people that are kind of against expansion, if they added some more team, we'd be starting at 1 o'clock today.
Starting point is 00:10:02 Why did this tournament? This tournament was the best argument against expansion. Because, I mean, while you could make an argument West Virginia should be in, I mean, after that you would have been adding teams that I think are objectively bad. Yeah. So I think, you know, I think if you were going to have a year where you said, well, why are we doing expansion, this would be the one. Yeah, outside of West Virginia, who was even on the bubble?
Starting point is 00:10:25 Do you really think Indiana? Ohio State beat us, but I mean, they've lost something like 15 games. So, I mean, are you really sad? They're not in? I do think you have a good point. With the storyline, I think we'll all be tuned in to hate watch North Carolina tonight when otherwise it would have just been a random game to most people watching at home. All right, so here's what I'm going to do today.
Starting point is 00:10:47 This will be, we try to do this once a year, kind of was our March madness thing. we'll kind of go through the bracket as a family. Okay. Okay. But I want to start with the interview. You know, KSR just keeps making news. We had the Pat Kelsey thing from the ESPN show. We had the Mark Pope thing from the ESPN show.
Starting point is 00:11:09 And then yesterday, Jacob Polichick, who's really done a great job this year with KSR Plus. By the way, I just, on a side note, I got online. Was this Friday? And all of a sudden, everyone was furious at me about something from KSR Plus. And you talk about just being hit from it. I was like, what? I guess someone had put out an ad that said, if you want to know about Lamont Butler's injury, whatever, here. People were just so mad at me.
Starting point is 00:11:38 And I didn't even know that the ad had happened. People were like, how dare you, Matt Jones? And I was like, what did I do this time? Because I had just heard that Lamont Butler, the news was a little. better than people thought. So I put it on KSR Plus as like, you know, here's a little,
Starting point is 00:11:59 because it's not news. Yeah. Because I didn't know he was playing. It was like vibes. Little nugget. It was barely even Scuttlebutt. It was just, I wouldn't even call it Scuttlebutt. I would call it vibes. Vives. And it was just vibes. And vibes made people angry. They were like, Matt Jones,
Starting point is 00:12:16 how dare you not tell me your vibes? And it threw me off a little bit. So maybe I should just keep the vibes to myself in the future. No, now I want you to do it every day. Just something out there. Fib of the day. Vib of the day. Here are my vibes.
Starting point is 00:12:33 How dare you imagine. And a lot of people, a lot of people that were the angriest are people that on social media seem to hate me. It's like, why do you want my vibes if you don't even like me? Anyway, back to KSR Plus. Jacob interviewed the coach of Troy, and I thought you would love this. Of course I did. I mean, again, why do we have to like these people? I don't want to like Pat Kelsey, but I do.
Starting point is 00:13:01 So far we do. I had a really good existence not liking Rick Patino, and I'm wearing a St. John shirt today. Now the Troy head coach seems. I don't know, he seems kind of cool. I had a female friend of mine tell me she thought he was hot. Like, why is this got to happen? Anyway, he gets on with Jacob and says that he picks his players by asking them if they like the Waffle House. And if they like the Waffle House, then they're a Troy basketball player.
Starting point is 00:13:32 If they don't like the Waffle House, then they're not. And I have to tell you, Drew, he seemed serious. Very serious. He seemed like he was being serious. Is that awesome? I loved it. He said, I guess in Troy, there's not many places to eat after game, so he takes his family there after every game to celebrate. They do birthdays there.
Starting point is 00:13:53 In the interview with Jacob, he names the waitresses. He says, I love Ms. Mary and Ms. Jennifer. He even got them custom Troy shirts that he combined the Waffle House logo and the Troy logo. It doesn't seem like just some little comment he made to Jacob. It seems they are all about Waffle House down in Troy, Alabama. Yeah, and I saw Waffle House posted something. I mean, again, Waffle House is now adopting them as their team. You know, I don't want to post these vibes on KSR Plus because I don't want to get Yale, but I don't like the vibe of America and Waffle House kind of uniting around Troy. I can't help but disagree with you wholeheartedly on this one. I think it's the most brilliant piece of recruiting ever done.
Starting point is 00:14:35 Picking your players. What is it about Waffle House that you think would reflect on the character of a recruit? I think this guy was trying to imply, you know, if they like Waffle House, They're kind of maybe blue collar, hardworking, and not a hoity-to-dy guy that wants to go to Jeff Rubies for lunch. So you're saying if you like the Waffle House, then like you're a man of the people? You're a man's man. So you think, are you trying to suggest that, like, rich people don't like Waffle House? I would say that's very fair.
Starting point is 00:15:08 Okay. Because they're, but it's below them. I don't, like, I mean, I have a little bit of money. and I like the Waffle House. I would rather, I mean, I like Jeff Rubies. Look at you. Look at you. You're not wearing a coat and tie.
Starting point is 00:15:23 You're wearing a hoodie. That's perfect for Waffle House. We don't want people coming in with coat and ties. I don't think a lot of people were going to do that anyway. I'm just saying I'm not sure that there's a correlation between money and Waffle House. Like, I bet there's a lot of rich people. I would rather eat at Waffle House. I don't want, yeah, I think I would rather eat at Waffle House and Jeff Rubies.
Starting point is 00:15:45 I acknowledge Jeff Rubies is better, but if you're just asking me what would make me happier in a given moment, it would probably be the Waffle House. That culture of the Waffle House. It's welcoming these people that just want a good bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, not a steak. That's not why you go to the Waffle House. You've not had their bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich then. That's awesome. You go for the bacon and cheese? I get the same thing every time.
Starting point is 00:16:11 Bacon egg and cheese on Texas toast, I have a half of house extra pickles. Oh, preach it. Shannon. I thought the whole reason to go to the Waffle House was to get a waffle. Oh, sorry. I know that's crazy. That's 20-20. And then Birch Chili and then smothered, covered, and fluffed.
Starting point is 00:16:26 I mean, I thought that was... What's fluffed? You got to ask for it. Okay. They only do that in the slow times. You know what? I'm just going to take a break. 8-9-2-80-22.
Starting point is 00:16:40 I didn't know about the debate. So that's the thing. He said if they like Waffle House, they're an okay. and I thought, well, what's an okay G? I didn't understand what that means. Well, in the longer quote, that means our kind of guy. So you're an okay G if you like, wow. Wow, I like that.
Starting point is 00:16:55 I'm going to start saying that. You're an okay G. You're our kind of guy. I like that. Yeah. There's more from that interview coming out today. I think we're only going to like them more to. I don't want to like that guy.
Starting point is 00:17:04 I wish that didn't happen. But they're okay G's. 859-280-2287. The text machine is 772-745254. We are in our March framework. of mine, we'll take a break, and be right back. This is KSR. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Starting point is 00:18:25 when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing. And we're still chasing it. And we don't know when we've done enough. Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses.
Starting point is 00:18:42 Steve Burns, Dustin Ross, because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on Earth? Are you a good person because you're afraid? Because that's two different intentions, bro. Absolutely. And that's two different levels of trust. I want you to just really be a good person. From the WNBA standout Kate Martin and rising hockey star Layla Edwards.
Starting point is 00:19:31 If a boy can do it, I don't see why a girl can't. Like, I've never understood that. Like, it didn't make sense in my brain. It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you, but don't ever feel like you don't feel like you don't feel like. Don't let that be the reason you don't do it. An Olympic champs Gabby Thomas and Katie Ladecki. The ability to show a gold medal to someone and have their face light up and smile,
Starting point is 00:19:50 that means the world to me. And that's what motivates me to win more gold medals. At our level, at this scale, like being able to fail in front of the entire world. Like, I can do anything. I can do anything. Because resilience isn't just about winning. It's about showing up, even when it's hard. Listen to Hurtle with Emily Abadi on the IHeartRadio app.

We were God's chosen kingdom on earth. He felt destined for greatness. So when a swaggering Armenian businessman catapults Jacob into an extraordinary world, he doesn't look back. Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, meeting the president of Turkey.
Starting point is 00:20:40 I'm Michelle McPhee in the... And this is one of the most shocking criminal conspiracies I've ever come across. When Jacob met Levan this plant to a billion dollar fraud. But with two kings from entirely different worlds, just how long can their empire survive? The largest tax investigation in American history. You need to tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me? Jacob told Levan, you're ruining my life.
Starting point is 00:21:08 Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio. Text machine 772-774-5254. One person writes, Matt, Ryan's right, you do look like you belong in a Waffle House. Yes. I understand that, like, I don't dress. I dress like a person who's 28.
Starting point is 00:21:42 and jobless. I understand that. But that's okay with me. You know, when we went out Saturday night to the Kid Rock Bar, people were just coming up to me and going, I didn't even recognize you with a button-up shirt on. And it made me realize people just don't think of me as a person that might dress well even once.
Starting point is 00:22:00 Well, that wasn't your clubbing shirt. So it was, you were standing out of a little. Did he wear the clubbing shirt? Yes, it does not come out very much. My goodness. We're talking like four times a year. Yeah. Came out that night.
Starting point is 00:22:11 I was bummed, though. The weather was so bad. We couldn't wear our cowboy hats. We're cowboys. We just can't get wet. As a true cowboy, you're not going to get your hat wet. I was excited for us to wear those. I was going to wear my boots, but they might have gotten dirty.
Starting point is 00:22:23 That's true. Which you're also not going to do, you know. And I don't think Milwaukee's a town for the cowboy boots and the cowboy hat. It's going to be in the car. We'll see if it gets used. One person writes, Matt Waffle House isn't about rich or poor. It's about being down to earth. You can have all the money in the world and still be down to earth, but you can be poor and be snotty.
Starting point is 00:22:48 I would agree with that. I agree with that sentiment. Yes. There are people I know that are very wealthy that are still can be down to earth. I think that's harder when they get very wealthy, but there are some that are able to do it. And then there are some people who maybe aren't wealthy, but in their minds still think they're whatever, their bet. So, yeah, I would agree with that, Ryan. this guy, you know, the okay, G's, he kind of wants to get this guys all fit together and bond
Starting point is 00:23:16 together. So maybe that's one way he can determine, okay, are you a down-to-earth kind of guy? Do you like Waffle House? That's way to determine it. Well, person writes, Matt, my mom was very mad that you had put your vibes on KSR Plus. She said Matt should give us all information for free. Well, I understand that. And that's actually where my sympathies lie.
Starting point is 00:23:38 This is a conversation for a completely different world. but the market for media has changed exponentially in the last three years. I mean, I'll give you the quick version. When I started, everything was behind a paywall, or it was like a big, like the herald leader, right? Right. I thought that the market inefficiency, to use an economics term, was to put stuff out for free.
Starting point is 00:24:06 So I did it. And we built KSR by being completely first. Around 2020, I started to see that things were changing exponentially because of social media primarily, but there were other factors. And then it was going to be harder and harder and harder to make money just for free unless you were part of a huge corporation. Which is why ultimately I sold because I thought it was best for KSR to be part of a bigger entity that could package ads, etc. Now what has happened is even in those five years, when you click on KSR, When you click on an article, used to be we get one set of money. Let's say it's a penny every time you click on it.
Starting point is 00:24:50 Now five years later, it's actually gone down. You would expect it to have gone up. We've had inflation and stuff. It's actually gone down because of social media, because of a lot of different things. So now you can't do the same thing. So it's oddly going back in the other direction to where it was years ago and think people are starting to charge. And if you look at every major media outlet, they all have a plus section now, right?
Starting point is 00:25:16 ESPN Plus or whatever. And the good ones succeed and the bad ones don't, right? So, you know, when the new owners decide to do the KSR Plus, that's kind of not in my blood. But I do understand it because I can read a spreadsheet. And so I would say to people, I totally get it if you don't want to pay for something. I totally get it. I also would say to you, if you want there to be free information, if you want a radio show that's free, you have to understand that in order to support that, these places have to do
Starting point is 00:25:48 pay stuff, which is against my nature, but the market is what it is. If you want to be out of a job, the easiest way to be out of a job is to go, I like it in the old days. Because if you do that, that's the easiest way to just be passed behind. So anyway, but I didn't know any of that was going on. I was out partying with my friends, and then I realized, oh, my goodness, the world is mad at me right now. So I want to ask these questions because I don't know. Other schools like Alabama football, Michigan football, is all their stuff pretty much behind paywalls? There is no website in the United States for college sports that is as good as KSR for free. None.
Starting point is 00:26:29 There's nobody close. Ask anybody in the industry. We give out more free information than any college sports website in America. our fans have become spoiled to that, which I totally understand. That's a testament to how successful we've been. But no other website Drew gives anything out for free. No. And that's just the way it is.
Starting point is 00:26:51 And I have a lot of fun on our message board. But after being on the free site for 10 years, I still didn't even want to put anything on my art. And I still don't. I'll get on there and talk on KS. Board, but I won't put any articles on the table. I thought hard, hard against adding a message board. And then finally, they invited me down to On Three Headquarters, and showed me the spreadsheet and said,
Starting point is 00:27:10 here's what we got to do, including saying to me, Matt, if we don't add a pay site, we're not going to be able to keep everybody. And I, what am I going to do? Say, out of the principle, then let's let these two riders go. I can't do that.
Starting point is 00:27:26 I'm responsible for these people's, you know, so that's why we do it. And we have a very good number of loyal people who have created a community where they get to, talk to Drew and they get to talk to all these people. I'm on there a little, but really Drew, Tyler, and them are really, and that's why it works.
Starting point is 00:27:45 So I get it. Now, I don't own it. They can do whatever they want, such as putting out ads that say Matt Jones wrote this and then they're getting everybody to yell at me. But, you know, it's just the nature of, so, you know, I would say to you, go to any other team in America, any other team, and see if you can find any place that gives out as much free content as we do. not going to find it, Ryan.
Starting point is 00:28:08 You're just not. That's what I assume when I ask you that question, Alabama football, Michigan football, not free. Now, some of them have a lot of stuff, but you have to pay for it. Correct. They've been charging a lot longer than KSR has, mostly the other SEC schools. We put a lot of people out of business being free. But, like, just being free in the age that Big Blue Bud can tweet something out,
Starting point is 00:28:34 like you can't. You can't because, big, blue bud will just do it right and so that's why it is speaking of big blue bud Travis Perry is I think going to play this weekend yeah I've not heard anything from anybody other than that one guy he said about a hand injury nobody else has said anything about it I haven't heard one of it not one piece so I think I think he is going to play I think we're going to be as healthy as we can be Friday I say that because it's not a hundred percent healthy but it's as healthy as this team is going to
Starting point is 00:29:04 be with where we are right now when we come back we'll go through the brackets, take your calls. 859-280-22-87. It's KSR. T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney. Call T.J. He'll make them pay. Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio
Starting point is 00:29:18 presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. I didn't realize there were so many Waffle House songs, to be honest. Did you? I had not heard this one. I'd heard the Jonas Brothers one earlier. Colt Ford. Colt Ford.
Starting point is 00:29:31 He's like a country singer. Yeah, yeah, right. I did see when we were on Broadway, Wade Hayes, the country singer. I didn't anybody remember Wade Hayes from the 90s. On a good night, I will drive to the lake. Turn on the radio and find George straight. Do you know that song? It doesn't ring a bell the moment. It seems like I will say no one in this bar seemed to be shaking
Starting point is 00:29:50 their head like they did. So that's why I stopped the performance, Drew. He was playing at Eric Churches on Saturday night, and it made me a little sad because I was like, I mean, he's pretty big. Like he's just playing, but I hope things are going well from Wade. Just down the street while we were at Kid Rocks, Ed Shearin was playing at Tuts. How about that? He just showed up in celebrity sightings that night. And he was wearing, so there were this, while we were standing in line at Kid Rocks, there was this group of girls with a bachelorette party who had a certain kind of pink hat.
Starting point is 00:30:20 And I think he was wearing one of their hats because I saw that was what he was wearing when he performed there. He just walked into Tootsies. A lot of list people from this show may have heard it because he just walked in and started performing. Yeah, there was a bunch of Morgan Wallin sightings on Broadway. Someone said Kid Rock played at Kid Rock's Wednesday. People everywhere. If Morgan Walden had been there, I'd have been like, hey man. What's up, Cus?
Starting point is 00:30:42 What's up? Tommy Wayne. I don't know if that would have, I don't know what he would have said. He probably wears his cowboy hat in the rain. Probably does. Unfortunately. All right, let's, I'm going to go to the phone here and just a second, but let's do our first region of picks. I'm going to go quickly.
Starting point is 00:30:56 Okay. And we're going to do a consensus pick. Here's what we'll do. The four of us will pick. If there's a tie, we'll go to the audience. All right. All right. I was going to go to Mario, but he's in Louisville today.
Starting point is 00:31:06 All right. I assume we both all think all. Auburn's going to win the first game. Louisville, Louisville. Who you got? Creighton. Creighton. Louisville.
Starting point is 00:31:13 I'm going to take Louisville. Who you got, Chan? Louisville. Louisville goes to the second round. Michigan and UC San Diego. UC San Diego is very good. Michigan won the Big Ten. Sometimes when you win a big conference tournament, you then lose in the first round of the NCAA.
Starting point is 00:31:26 What do you got? I'll go UC San Diego. Michigan. I'm going to go San Diego, the Toros or whatever they are. I don't know. What do you got? This was my 12-5-5. upset. Give me San Diego. So we've got
Starting point is 00:31:39 San Diego. Texas A&M and Yale. The smart people versus the idiots that dress sailors. I'm going to take the sailors. I got A&M. A&M. A&M. All right. A&M goes on. Old Miss versus either San Diego
Starting point is 00:31:57 State or North Carolina. Ole Miss. I'm going to go Old Miss. Ole Miss. O'Miss moves on. Iowa State Lipscomb. Lipscomb's played a lot of good teams this year. They didn't beat any of them, but they played some of them close. Played us good for like a half. They're a potential Cinderella story, but I still have Iowa State.
Starting point is 00:32:16 Iowa State second best players out. Iowa State, still in this one. I'm going to take Iowa State. Shannon? Iowa State. By the way, it's weird. The Iowa State player is just out. They were like, he just needs some time.
Starting point is 00:32:27 It's like a weird time to take it. You got until Thursday. I got some time. Marquette and New Mexico, Rick Patino, Jr., versus Shock. a smart and his new hair. I actually have New Mexico on my bracket here. Oh, wow. Marquette. Taking Marquette. Cam Jones is going to have a big game. What do you got? I am with Drew on this when I got New Mexico as a 10-7 upset. Then we go. We'll start with you. We go to the thing. Marquette, New Mexico from the crowd. New Mexico. Nice. Wow. All right. Nice.
Starting point is 00:32:59 Go moves on. Anybody want Bryant against Michigan State? No. They do your heating in air, but they don't do well at this. Auburn and Louisville, Shannon, any chance the cards. They're going to be right here. This place will be filled with red and wins. There's always a chance, but I'm going to pick Auburn on this one. All right, Drew. Auburn.
Starting point is 00:33:16 Auburn. I'll take Auburn. All right. Then we've got UC San Diego A&M, Drew. I've got A&M. A&M. You see San Diego. A&M.
Starting point is 00:33:28 You got really excited about that. Here we go. Old Miss versus Iowa. State. I've got Iowa State. Iowa State. Iowa State. I've got Old Miss.
Starting point is 00:33:39 Yeah. Okay. Okay. Ole Miss Iowa State, sir. Old Miss. There we go. Six over a three. That's right.
Starting point is 00:33:47 All right. New Mexico, Michigan State, Drew. Michigan State. Michigan State. I'll take Michigan State. All right. Now we go to Auburn against A&M. An SEC battle in the Sweet 16.
Starting point is 00:33:59 I'll take Auburn. We've got Auburn. Auburn. Auburn. Buzz Williams does not get to dance. We've got Old, or, yes, Old Miss versus Michigan State. Three of the four teams in this bracket would end up being SEC schools. Auburn, Michigan State is my elite date.
Starting point is 00:34:14 Yep, Michigan State. I'm going to take Michigan State, Shannon. I had Ole Miss, but it doesn't matter, so let's move on. All right. Auburn, Michigan State. Does Bruce Pearl go or does Tom Isso get only a second Final Four in a long time? I think he's only had one other one in like 20 years. Does he get it this time?
Starting point is 00:34:29 Auburn's scaring me a little bit. They've gone the wrong way since pulling the belts out Lexington, but I haven't won in this one. I think they're mad about that the way they've lost the late in the season So I'm taking Auburn Yeah I do wonder did the belts curse them I mean I you know maybe I will however take
Starting point is 00:34:43 Auburned Shannon All right so we've got Auburn coming out in our bracket Going to the Couple of upsets though we picked in that bracket How about that? We picked Marquette and we picked Ole Miss In a big upset there who's up first shit? Cameron
Starting point is 00:34:56 Cameron Go ahead Cameron Hey Matt how's it going Doing well what's up You know, obviously you remember what happened with the Brandon Knight team in 2011, getting to the final four after beating Ohio State in North Carolina. We remember what happened with Aaron Harrison, you know, hitting the threes to beat Louisville, Michigan, and Wisconsin in 2014.
Starting point is 00:35:20 Yes. You know, both of those teams didn't have great regular seasons, but they both had miracle runs to at least the final four. You know, it's going to be hard without Jackson Robinson and Kirk Creeza, I believe. you know, our defensive issues, but, I mean, I've got to be honest with you. I like our bracket this year. How much of a chance do you think this team has to be one of those teams that made a run to the final four? Well, you got a chance.
Starting point is 00:35:44 I mean, I appreciate the call. You got a chance to make a run. I think, you know, I always look at the bracket and say, is there a team that I just don't think Kentucky can beat? And I think the good thing is we got in the one bracket that does not have a team that I don't think Kentucky can beat. I think there's like four teams that would be really hard for Kentucky to beat, and we don't have any of them.
Starting point is 00:36:07 We got the one seed that I think is the one we have the best shot at. I'd rather have had a different two seed, but we've beaten Tennessee, so we know we can Drew. So yes, there is a way to make a run. There's also a way to lose, hopefully not the first game, but we could lose the second one, and I wouldn't be surprised at all. So, like, this is going to be kind of a, we'll see, right? Yeah, I love the draw.
Starting point is 00:36:31 all, it's very rare that two-seed is a team you've beaten twice. I bet that doesn't happen very often. You're a lower seed and look up, and there's a team you've already beaten twice in the regular season. But, you know, it's as expected. If you're watching the guys making their brackets on TV now, we're a popular pick to get upset early. I saw that Evan Maya said it's the most likely three. I know those all just... That guy needs to calm down.
Starting point is 00:36:52 But that's a predictable, but that's a storyline going into the game that a lot of the national picks are trying to knock Kentucky out early. I saw that. What do you say? It was a 20% chance. Get out of here with Kentucky. I mean, he's a 20% chance. I don't even know what that means.
Starting point is 00:37:06 Yeah, so I do like the bracket, but also, you know, you certainly can lose. I don't think there's, I don't think. We've seen that in recent years. Yeah, I don't think there's any doubt about that. Who's next? Let's go to Will. Will, go ahead, Will. I've got a hypothetical for you all.
Starting point is 00:37:24 You've got a bowl of 100 grapes. Okay. One grape is poisonous. How many are you going to eat? The catch is you get $100,000 for each grape that you eat. Only one grape is going to use. Okay, I appreciate the call. So this is a math question, right?
Starting point is 00:37:40 So you got a one in 100 chance of dine, and then a one in 99 chance and a one in 98 chance. You know, I'm probably, my life's pretty good. I'm probably not eating a grape. So I'm probably good because it's not worth it. There's not going to be $100,000 not worth with a one in a hundred chance of dine. So I'm going to not eat a grape How many grapes are you going to eat right?
Starting point is 00:38:05 This is tough I mean, I need some money How many handfuls of grapes you eat? I got kids How maybe we wolfed down the whole bowl The whole bowl Even the last one You're already like doing your inheritance
Starting point is 00:38:19 I'd leave in all that I'd say I would probably I would eat 10 Give me a million dollars and I'm out Okay, so you would risk it Would you go one by one or would you just pick 10 up in a bunch and eat it? I think I would eat 10 at once.
Starting point is 00:38:32 I wouldn't go through that torture of one at a time. Yeah, I don't think. I think it would be torture. You knew you were going to do 10. Just pick all 10 at once. All right, so you're taking 10. I'm taking 10. I'm taking none.
Starting point is 00:38:42 Drew, how many are you taking? I've actually heard this question before and I've thought about it, and I'm with you, Matt. I just couldn't be the guy that died eating a grape. I know the odds are good that it won't get you right away, but just the slim chance that my first grape kills me. What a horrible way to go. So, yeah, I mean, as much as I'd love $100,000, I will pass. So if two zeros, 110, Shannon, what do you do?
Starting point is 00:39:05 Here's a thing, like, something's going to take us out of this world. Why not death by grapes? So I'm with Ryan. I'd probably eat about 10 of them at least. You said 100,000 for each one? Yeah, so you get a million dollars to eat 10 and don't die. Yeah. It's worth it.
Starting point is 00:39:18 Okay. Life changing money or life changing, you're dead. You know, we're the way your life's changing. The way your life's changing with 10 grapes. You're dead? Oh, you're a millionaire. I like that. It's changing one way or the other.
Starting point is 00:39:32 Yes, it is. So you would either change by death. And I like grapes. So part of it for you is the taste of it. Yeah, I like a good grape. He's just there for a snack. Got to be a green grape, though. If you got 10 down and you're still alive, you've got a million, any chance you'd keep going.
Starting point is 00:39:48 Because he's hungry. Yeah, getting a little greedy. They're good grapes. 1.1. He'd be like, look, these tastes really good. And I'm really hungry. They're chocolate-covered grapes, right? Oh, nah.
Starting point is 00:39:58 You're killing. I do I have to pay taxes on these grapes? These are tax-free grapes. I talk to the people. Volunteers of America, Mid-States is part of Volunteers of America. It's our region's largest nonprofit provider of human services, including housing, justice, veterans support, shelter, and more. They help those in recovery programs, and their success beats the national average.
Starting point is 00:40:20 We have a new center in downtown Louisville for unhoused individuals. To learn more about this campus or how you can donate, go to V-O-A-Mid. That's VOA midstates at VOA mid.org or call 502-636-0771. You could also charge for the stream of you eating the grapes. Oh, yeah, make you more money. I bet that would actually make you a lot of money. I'd tune in to watch a stream. I'd do that.
Starting point is 00:40:44 I don't know, though. I don't know if I'd watch it because I don't want to watch people. You remember when I was in college, they had that video that people wanted to do. Yeah, it was awful. I hated it. That was a big thing in our college dorms that faces a death, and I couldn't watch it. I thought it was awful. Like it still kind of makes me creeped out today, but I had people in my college who were like watching it and I couldn't do it.
Starting point is 00:41:03 You know what I'm talking about? Yeah. Sounds like my free page on Twitter these days. We'll take a break and be right back. That's on you. This is KSR. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind.

Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. You want a KSR curse? Yes. There's people telling me that literally today Trump put a tariff on grapes. They're poisonous.
Starting point is 00:45:23 That would be quite a curse, if that's true. I was asking if they're a tax-free. You said they're not. Well, apparently not now. So did I hear today they're releasing all the Kennedy files today, I think? He announced he's there. Respectfully, I don't know how people fall for any of this stuff. Like, you know, remember they were going to release the Epstein files and it was the stuff that was already out?
Starting point is 00:45:49 I mean, I'm sure they may release something. but now I'm going to sound like Shannon but if it's something they don't want you to know it's never coming out so they may release something but you know plus that's been a long time what are we going to do
Starting point is 00:46:03 what are we going to find out I guess we'll find out you know you want to go through the 80,000 files or we won't find out or we won't find out and yeah it's going to be too many pages for me to keep up with
Starting point is 00:46:16 yeah I'm not going to read it but I'm sure somebody will tell me won't you read I'm a hard pass All right, so I want you to guess, you know, I've explained to you the principle on math about, like, how you add up the percentages. Sure. You know what I mean? So can you do the math?
Starting point is 00:46:29 And again, this is what someone writes. I didn't do the math, but I'm going to trust they know, even though they may not. Would you like to know what the percentage chance, if you do it 10 times, you're actually going to eat one that will kill you is? 0.01%. You think it's going to be, you think it's going to be less than it would be? Yeah, I'll go with me. Why would you say 0.01? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:46:51 I mean, you realize that just eating one, it's 1%. You've now made it less than it would have been... Like, you realize you have a 1% chance in one of 100 grapes of diet. So what's the answer? Why would it be less? I don't know, what's the answer? They're not putting more grapes in the bowl after you eat one. According to this person, 38%.
Starting point is 00:47:10 38? Yeah, because it's 1% the first time. Yeah. Then it's like 1.1 or 1.2 the next. and then you have to do the probabilities of winning all of them. I don't know if that number's right. I didn't do the math. But let's say that it is.
Starting point is 00:47:25 Are you still doing it? It seems a little high. It scares me a little bit more now. A little high. Maybe I'll just take five grapes instead of ten. Yeah. I don't think. That can't be right.
Starting point is 00:47:36 38% feels high to me. I would think it would be like 20 or maybe 19 or 18. Maybe somebody else can do the math. I don't know why I just randomly agree that this textor. I would think if you're taking 10 grapes. apes out of 100, wouldn't it just be like 10%? That's not math. Because you have to consider the chance each time,
Starting point is 00:47:54 and then you have to win every time. Like you can't lose once. You see what I'm saying? But what if I just got a handful of 10? Wouldn't that make it 10%? No? Seems like it would. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:04 That's actually, I think that makes more sense. Yeah, whoever said 38% you're a liar. Louisville grad. Probably. I guess if you were doing one at a time, maybe it's. If it's, yeah, but it, The numbers should still be the same. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:48:19 What am I doing? This is a lot of now. This is why we're on the room. I'm hung up. I need walls. The West Virginia governor, did you see his press conference yesterday? I saw some of it. I didn't like the whole thing.
Starting point is 00:48:28 I mean, this is a complete waste of time, and it's a joke that he's doing it. With that said, if you're going to do something that's a joke, go all out, right? He gets up there to claim he's going to sue the NCAA for West Virginia not making the tournament. First of all, kudos to his staff that gave him a lot of numbers. okay he had all the quad ones he had the quad twos he had Carolina's resume he had West Virginia's resume he also however had a podium that on the front of it said National Corrupt Athletic Association maybe not the best move right there I think it was a great move if you're gonna I mean listen if you're gonna be ridiculous then go all out
Starting point is 00:49:09 he said it was it was egregious and what was his phrase it was like a travis of justice. He said the kind of thing you would do like if your patient, if your client was about to be executed. That's what he said about West Virginia basketball. What did you think of his press conference? My biggest takeaway you said is just the podium. That took some work. It took some photoshopping. It was the NCAA logo and colors. It was printed out. It looked very professionally done. I mean, they went to great links to- to act serious about this. Maybe they are serious. I think they clearly are serious. I think he's going to be reelected because now
Starting point is 00:49:47 everyone in West Virginia probably loves the guy. You keep, you were like this yesterday. You think this is like a great move so let's use it's Kentucky. Okay, let's say it's Kentucky. Let's say we did not make the tournament and we think we should. Would you want Andy Beshear
Starting point is 00:50:03 to sue the NCAA and to give that speech? Would you want that? I would support him. I would be like, yeah, that's my guy. Go after him, Andy. So even if you do he was. I'm not going to change anything. Yeah, even if you knew he was going to lose. He's still fighting for the little guy.
Starting point is 00:50:19 Go, go, Andy, go. Okay. What about you, Drew? Would you want him to do that? Some people would have called that, like, grandstand. I mean, maybe fire off a tweet for fun. I hope we're not committing too many resources to actually pursuing this. Just feel like there's better things that could be done with our time and money.
Starting point is 00:50:38 But if it's just a little, you know, a video on Twitter or something, whatever. But this was, like, behind the podium. Yeah, this is an official. press conference. But see, Ryan is Shannon why they would do it. Yep, yeah. Because Ryan's sitting there going Yeah. That's my God. It's 100% of political move.
Starting point is 00:50:55 He's right. I mean, there will be people like Ryan who will vote for him because he's standing up for West Virginia. Yeah, so you think that it ultimately would be a winning move for a politician? He's a politician. He's just being a politician. He's just always thinking ahead to the next election. And it's because of people like Ryan.
