Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,

Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.

It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.

Welcome back. Hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio, 859-280-2-807,
here in Merrillville, Indiana.
Where's Ryan?
Roll call.
This is my favorite Ryan trip.
Where is Ryan?
He's not here.
Remember, like the second hour has started.
He's just walking in with his suitcase now.
Like we're doing a show.
My suitcase is still upstairs.
Should it be down here?
You said this yesterday.
This has been.
one of maybe the strangest Ryan Lemon trip we've ever had.
It started with the wallet floating down the parking lot,
and then one that listeners don't know yet is last night he got his room key and went to his room
and just left his luggage in the hotel lobby.
Did you know that?
When he went back to his room, he just left his luggage in the lobby.
Just took the key up to the room.
Annie nearly got ran over last night in the middle of the street.
Yes.
I don't even know that.
We mean you don't know that.
As we were walking back to the car after the post-game show,
you almost got hit.
Oh, when I ran across the street.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You almost got hit.
It was pouring rain.
But I'm so fast.
I zip right across the street.
You've been on one this weekend.
That's been great.
This really has been the weirdest ride lemon.
We had a good laugh with the tea at the front desk checking in when you just took the room
key and went to the elevator and just left your bags sitting in the lawn.
Didn't even take my suitcase.
I was so tired.
From all those naps.
How was the snoring last night?
You also.
You also sleep like an 85-year-old nursing home.
I think one of the greatest things in life is a good nap in the afternoon.
But you sleep all the time.
I love it.
Three hours.
I mean, he really does.
Yeah.
Like, he'll just be sitting there and he'll be asleep.
You're the oldest out of all of us.
But you're not ancient.
But you sleep all the time.
That's why I'm always at my tip-top best condition.
Like right now.
Yeah.
This has been my favorite ride trip.
Love me some run.
Thank you for being.
See, I wanted to go up and get my suitcase.
I didn't want to be the only one that didn't have their suitcase down here.
Well, now I am.
Yours is not here.
You get it during one of these other breaks.
859-280-2287.
The text machine, 772-7-7-4-5-254.
Let's a couple other things.
First of all, the women's team, that was a painful loss.
That's tough.
I mean, Georgia Amor has the little flow.
I mean, they had three shots before that that were open,
and then Georgia Amor with a little floater doesn't go in.
I thought she had a great attitude about it after the game.
She said, I've had an amazing five years in college.
I'm not going to let one shot define my time.
That's a good perspective.
But, you know, I mean, I think Kenny's going to build a big time winner here,
and she's a big part of that.
She was fun to watch.
She didn't shoot well a lot of the game until the end,
and then she got hot and played really well in the fourth quarter.
It was a good first year.
You know, and that game yesterday, yeah, she missed that last.
shot, but they would not have even been in the game
if it weren't for some big shots that she knocked down
late in that game, too. She's fun, man.
And the rest of the team.
I mean, that was a great performance. I hate that they lost.
Chances are they were going to lose
in the next round to USC anyway,
but it was still nice to
see them have a run. And Kenny's
going to, we're going to make a Final Four with him.
I genuinely believe that.
I was very bummed. I mean, if they
lose by 10, that stinks,
you know, you got a beat. But the fact
they got her such a good look at the end,
What, it touched three different parts of the rim.
Just that being the final shot of her career, I felt awful.
Actually, her comments made me feel better when I realized that she was,
I'm not going to say okay with it, but she handled as well as you could, given that moment,
because that's something she'll probably think of for years,
having little nightmares about.
It seemed like the fans were awesome.
They filled Memorial Coliseum, kind of a reflection of what they felt like Brooks did this year with the team.
Yeah.
They were in full support.
Yeah, so it was.
That was the only bummer on an otherwise podcast.
positive day. The SEC has seven teams in the Sweet 16, the most ever for any conference in the
history of college basketball. There were some people kind of dancing on the SEC's graves after
the first round. They were only eight and six. Oh, why are you so good? I said wait till the second
round and seven of eight one, including a couple of upsets. There's a couple of disappointing losses I
feel like in the first round, Vanderbilt being one of them. But, you know, overall, I think the SEC
has stood up to the expectations that we all had going in. I mean, how can you do better than the most
teams ever in the Sweet 16th?
You said in real time, people were dunking on the conference because the 12, 13th, 14 teams
were losing.
I mean, sure.
What do you expect?
Yeah, I mean, okay, the big ones haven't played yet.
I mean, yeah, our 13th place team lost to Gonzaga, who was top 10 Kim Palm.
Oh, well, that's shocking.
Here's the thing.
There's a lot, there's going to be a lot of hot takes today from people going, oh,
they'll never be a mid-major make a run again.
because like this Sweet 16 is power dominated.
Seven SEC, four Big Ten, four Big 12, and Duke.
That's basically, only one ACC.
Here's what I would say about that.
I do think the portal is going to make it harder for mid-majors,
but we're only two years removed from Florida Atlantic being in the final four.
And the portal existed then, right?
Florida Atlantic and San Diego State were in the final four two years ago.
We're only one year removed from Oakland being.
in Kentucky.
This is just like it happens.
Colorado State was one buzzer beater away from being in the Sweet 16, right?
I think what happened this year is the good teams were really good.
And I think it was hard for there to be like an Oakland this year.
But that'll change.
Like the portal certainly does help the big schools are getting older, which makes them harder to upset.
I freely will grant you that.
But, you know, I mean, take a team like that.
like Drake.
All right.
So Drake will probably lose their one or two best guys to a big school.
But what they're going to do is they're going to go get Eastern Kentucky's best
play.
Sure.
You know what Eastern Kentucky's going to do?
They're going to go get a Division II school's best player.
And it's going to still, what has happened that I think college basketball fans should
be thrilled about is that the quality of play is so much better in college basketball.
The quality of play is infinitely better than it was five years ago.
in terms of how good these teams are.
These teams are good, and I think it makes these games more exciting to watch.
And, you know, like, take the women's game.
I enjoy watching the women's game, but the women's game has not had mid-majors ever.
The best teams are always a lot better than everybody else.
And people still are enjoying the women's game.
It's been on a rise.
It's fun to have.
I mean, the women's game sees no upsets in the first round, ever, right?
and it's still a very popular sport.
So there's going to be a lot of dunk
and a people who just like to dunk on men's college basketball.
Oh, the portal to the N.I.
This ain't what I feel, Lord.
I don't know how I became a Southern Baptist preacher in that.
But I don't care.
Jackson Robinson and Kobe Bray and Lamont Butler and Mari Williams,
they're always going to have a place in Kentucky fans' hearts.
Oh, yeah.
And the portal, the NIL, that doesn't change that.
You know, the tournament was chalky this year.
That happens sometimes.
It happens.
If you go back, it happened in 2017 or 2018.
It was all great teams.
And you know what?
Then the next year you get something crazy.
Like, that's how it goes.
We all like a Cinderella.
Well, not all the Cinderella.
Last year's Cinderella sucked.
But sometimes that makes the second weekend have some blowouts.
Totally agree.
How awesome is this next weekend going to be with all these great teams playing each other?
And you're going to have, I mean, you had some good guys.
Did you think Derek Queen walked on that play?
That's the big controversy today.
People deciding whether.
he walked. He still hit it.
I'd hate to take it away from him. He still hit a big
time shot. I don't think you can call that if it's
close. I don't think he walked.
But if he did walk, it was so close, I don't think
you can call that. What do you think?
I think a walk is a walk. Do you think
you walked? Yeah, and I think they probably should have been called.
But in that moment...
Now, Gene Strattvartre
says he didn't walk.
But I think, I will say, the dude they have
doing the rules for CBS, he never
disagrees with an official. Oh, because he's one of them. Yeah, he knows who he's paid.
He doesn't disagree with any official. Probably all his buddies. Yes, he will not.
If you were out there making a bad call, I'd have to say, well, you made a bad call.
No, you would tell you. You would say I made a bad call. He will not say any of them make a bad
call. I have a new, I don't know if I would say, well, just a suggestion to be officiating.
Not every official is built to go to a microphone in arena and announce his decision.
Oh, my. My guy last night was not ready to.
tell that crowd was going on. He's like, brood.
There's a couple of times.
Like, what did you say? They did.
Oh, man, why you got to do that? Well, I know.
Well, that's my point. But you're right. He wouldn't come up to the microphone and go.
To be fair for these guys, I mean, they signed up to be officials.
I know. He's not, but like you might take a spokesman for the group.
I'm not trying to pile on him. I'm saying maybe they should reconsider having every
official try to explain an arena full of people what happened.
Yeah.
Because I don't think he was ready.
I mean, on television, I just.
Well, you couldn't hear it.
You had the ball.
Well, I had friends going, what is this referee saying?
And, yeah, and then again, I saw it last night on the highlights.
We were laughing at him.
They played over the arena.
We're like, what did he say?
They shouldn't do that to that guy.
Like, you know, he shouldn't put that.
The NFL riffs, they want that camera time.
They love shouting to the crowd and everybody at home, what they're calling and getting on the mic.
Our guy last night, he was just, they're.
to blow whistles. He wasn't built for it.
By the way, got the end of game reviews.
I mean, they have to address this in the offseason, right?
NBA rule.
Yep.
NBA rule, you get one or two a game and that's it.
Like the NBA rule, they got to stop.
The Oregon-Arizona game, they stopped every play.
Every time it went out of bounds.
I think they rely too much on it.
They know if they get it wrong, they can just use it as a crutch.
Yeah.
And let me also say, that goal-tending rule that I hate almost came back in one of those games.
I can't remember which it was to hurt them the other day because they hit the rent.
It was like with three minutes to go and they didn't check it.
And it could have completely changed the way they played the end of the game.
I think it was Arkansas St. Johns that we talked about.
Several minutes later.
I'm glad we have it, but you're right.
I mean, it almost gets abused at the end of the game.
The last minute takes 12 minutes to finish.
That's right.
Who's up next?
Taylor is up next.
Taylor, go ahead.
Hey, Matt and crew.
A long time listener, first time caller.
Who are?
Hey, I live in Missouri, and I got a beautiful wife and two baby boys.
Can you guys try to explain to her the reasons for my actions around this time of year?
Well, there is no reason.
We all lose our minds.
I mean, like, you can step back objectively.
I mean, again, think of me yesterday, standing in the middle.
I mean, I have tickets to the game.
Shannon and Ryan are sitting on the front row.
I could just go sit next to him.
I walk outside and stand, I walk through a torrential downpour and get drenched and stand in a bank building in a soundless room and rock.
Like a crazy person.
But it's perfectly reasonable because this matters.
I know it's like 19, well, these are 21 and 22 year olds throwing a round ball through a hoop and it seems silly.
But it's not.
Like it's a part of our culture.
So you should tell your wife, you know, what is your wife like to do?
Does she watch, like, real housewives of, you know.
Bel Air.
Irvine.
What does she watch?
I'm in Kansas City, Chiefs.
She's a big eye.
So she's the same way for the Chiefs.
I mean, I'm sure she goes crazy, too.
But, like, there'll be people who don't watch sports who watch Real Housewives.
Well, that's fake.
And you don't even win anything in that.
That's just watching old hens.
yell at each other. So you should enjoy this. I appreciate the call. I don't understand how people
can't get swept up in sports. You know, this past summer, when I was in Europe, and I go watch
Scotland play Denmark. And first half, I sit in Denmark section. And you would have thought I was a
Dane. I was sitting there going, we have Greenland. Yeah, you know, Denmark. And then in the second half,
I was Scottish, and I was singing songs about the Queen that I shouldn't
be singing because I get swept up in the emotion that's what it's that's why sports are great right
that's why sports is awesome you did it right there no doubt about it you get swept up in something
greater than yourself and there's something about us as kentucky fans we lose our mind but you know
what we understand why we lose our minds and it brings i just love sports because it brings
everybody together right like it brings people together you know rich poor man woman black
white, Republican, Democrat, blue collar, white collar.
We're all in this together.
Yep.
And in that moment, you got these kids out there and they're controlling your fate in that moment.
And there's something kind of exciting and beautiful about that, Drew, and I love it.
It's like we all search for things that are bigger than us in life.
And this is like for a few moments bigger than you.
And I will say most people listen.
We all have stories of how we've reacted to wins, good and bad.
It affects us for weeks at a time, whether it's a win or a loss.
But we're so invested in it emotionally.
I will say, though, it doesn't bring everyone together.
My dad being a Tennessee fan, I got a rocky week ahead.
I mean, I'll cuss your dad out.
I already have.
I love your dad, but I'll just go up to him.
I'll go middle fingers up to your dad.
That's just the way it is just for a week.
I'm going to stop by and say how to him tonight,
but it might be radio solid.
We can't talk to him for the rest of the week.
But you're right.
I'm going to say it brought us here to this Merrillville hotel.
Yes.
Where Annette's giving out hugs and omelets.
Annette is so nice that she's screaming in the background.
I'm not saying a word.
Because she's so nice.
Tell me about Stockton Mortgage.

Dan Dockich and Corey Price are going after each other.
Oh, boy.
During the break, you might want to see that.
Wow. All right, we'll take a break.

We'll be right back.

I didn't realize that the dude CBS uses for the referee Gene Strattstera Tori is actually an NFL official.
Oh, really? Okay.
Well, he's the New York guy for CBS, too.
Yeah, but why have him do basketball?
You don't think he knows basketball?
I mean, I would get, can they not just get a guy who's a basketball rep?
Are they just going to use him for any officiating, like hockey, wrestling?
Like, he just does all of it?
Yeah, I guess all the other officials were actually working games.
It feels like you could actually get a basketball official.
You got the NCAA tournament.
You got the M&T, you got the CBI.
Okay, so just.
You got the CBI.
I don't think they use one for CBI.
But I feel like you, I mean, no offense.
to him, but, you know.
I just looked him up.
He's one of only two referees ever to be an NFL ref and NCAA basketball
rest.
Okay, I take it back.
If he was an NCAA, he's just the go.
Okay, so he's just like into rules.
Big rules guy.
He's a big rules guy.
What a job, though.
He just sits in New York and the room and waits for the phone room.
And he just looks at and goes, yeah, that's out of bounds on him.
Yeah, I think the refs got it right.
Yeah, it is a great job.
You just go,
It looks like it's out on him.
I mean, I do the same thing every time.
So do I.
They don't pay me anything.
I think that hit Brandon Garrison's hand.
Give it to Illinois.
By the way, what about that play by Brandon Garrison?
I don't know how he made the play.
You know, I talked about it last night.
I don't know how he got up, twisted his body, and got his hand on the basketball.
I don't know how he didn't foul it.
When he jumped at him, I was like, this is going to be a play that's going to drive me crazy.
Flex those bones.
We knew they would need the bench, but through two games, he and Chandler have been great.
Noah hadn't put up a lot of points, but he drew the big foul before halftime.
The three that sparked the run in the first game.
So so far, so good on them answering the bell, they've been good off the bench.
That was a great play.
And the Illinois coach, was he just mad that they decided to review it at all?
Like, it seemed like he was mad that they reviewed it.
I think he really thought it went out off the garrison.
Like he blocked it and went out of the hand.
But here's what I don't understand about people on things like that.
If I'm a coach, a foul call, okay, argue it.
But with the who it's out on, if you know they're going to review it,
don't you think they're going to get a better angle than you do on it at that point?
You watched it in real time from the other side of the court.
Like, I'm just going to be like, like, it is what it is, right?
Like, it's going to look like it looks.
They review everything, and you're right.
I mean, you're going to see it in slow motion, and there's going to be a definitive answer.
And I'm just going to go, well, okay, that's what it was.
I trust Gene in his room in New York.
Yeah, I figured out.
A lot of old man voices today on the show.
Back to you, Kevin.
Excuse me, there's a kid named Mario who won't leave me alone.
Stalker.
Who's up next?
Dalton is up next.
Dalton, go ahead, Dalton.
What is happening?
He said we got lucky, Illinois fan.
I pledge allegiance to the apple.
I'm not an attorney, nor have I ever wanted to be an attorney.
And watch the way you talk about it.
about Ryan Lemon's sixth hometown, okay?
That is true.
The one he doesn't know how to pronounce.
I got a PSA and then why I'm not worried about Tennessee.
First of all, anybody is trying to listen to Tom Leach through an internet device,
the varsity app, it puts all the games on there with the university's color and commentating.
Listen, Tom Leach, you don't have to sign up and hit the skip button and go right to it.
I don't know how many times to let you hit that skip button, but it's still working for me.
Interesting.
I actually told Tom I would spread that message, so thank you, sir.
You can listen to it during the game live?
Basically, we did all season.
You now have to use the varsity app to keep doing it because it's not on what's been on.
So you can do the varsity app.
It's Tom Leach approved.
It's Learfield giving you JMI.
Okay.
Anyway, I'm not worried about Tennessee.
We go to Milwaukee, we beat up on Troy, we beat up on Illinois, and we're going to beat up on
Tennessee.
Because ain't nothing but a bunch of soft soy boys.
Three in a row ain't hard.
The Lakers could beat Dunbar three times in a row, and we compete the dirty Tennessee balls.
Go catch.
I appreciate the call.
We're going to spend a lot of time on Tennessee.
It will be a very rivalry heavy game.
We didn't talk for a second about the Arkansas-St. John's.
Yeah.
You know, we were pulling for St. Johns, but that was a – they couldn't make a shot.
Could not make a shot.
Is Cal and Rick's head?
Oh, yeah.
What's the stat now?
Nine of the last 11.
Cowell's beating nine of the last 11 games.
Or maybe St. John's just can't hit layoffs.
However, in Rick's defense, it was unbelievable how he missed it.
What did Luis Jr. go?
Like 3 of 18?
Yeah.
How does he bench him?
Yeah.
Didn't play him the last final minutes.
I mean, I will say this.
Pat 40 had a great article about the game where he just was like,
Rick's one of the greatest coaches of all time, but for some reason, Cal is in his head.
Yeah.
And he noted that.
Rick has freaked out in three major NCAA tournament games and basically benched his best player.
He did it with Kentucky, Roderick Rhodes in 1995.
He did it with Louisville against Michigan State with T. Will, Terrence Williams.
And now he did it in this game where he benches his best player just because he gets mad at him.
And then watches that they can't score down the stretch.
And they did it again.
Like with five minutes to go, they couldn't score.
and the one dude had fouled out, Cadary Richardson,
and he didn't have his best player in.
Like, I just, I don't know how you do that.
I don't care if he's 3 for 18.
He's your best player.
That's right.
The podcast kept zooming in on him on the bench.
Yeah, I have the same feeling about Kobe Brea in games that he's struggling.
Keep shooting.
I always believe the next one's going in.
Yeah.
But it's not going in if you're on the bench.
Dude was Big East player of the year.
It's not like, you know, he just had a bad game.
You got to play, man.
And when a player's that good, sure he's been bad for 37 minutes,
but at any moment, they can flip that switch.
Yeah.
I mean, they had the ball.
down three.
I mean, you've got to get him in, right?
Crazy.
And they didn't do it.
And then Cal, I mean, you want to talk about being excited.
First of all, somebody's got to tell him, what is with that coat?
He looks like a Pizza Hut tablecloth.
Book it.
I kind of like it.
He's winning.
You like it?
You think it looks good?
Yeah, it looks good on Cal.
I did think Megan and I thought that was sweet.
That was powerful.
I did.
I did think Megan and Ellen was sweet.
That's all the heartstrings.
I mean, I'm not, cows unbearable after wins like that, but that was sweet because, I mean, you know, it's hard on people's family.
Yes, it is.
So I thought that was nice.
And I thought the picture of the two of them, you know, what, 30 years ago and then that was in the same place.
That was kind of cool.
Did you see the video, though, after it was all over and they were walking in the tunnels?
They passed each other.
Didn't even glance at each other, walked right by each other.
Why don't they just go?
They both look at war.
I hate him.
That's what they ought to do.
We'll be right back.
Welcome back, Techies Sports Radio, 859, 2807.
Text machine 772-745254.
One person writes, Matt, would you have rather lost last night than lose to Tennessee on Friday?
No, I mean, that was something I kind of thought when the bracket came out,
but then the way things played out with, you know, BYU making the Sweet 16 and Arkansas
and then, you know, just being in the moment, I'd rather make Sweet 16.
If we lose Tennessee, it's going to just stink in terms of the, like, with their fans,
but you get to the second weekend.
I think what's interesting is, you know, it used to be the national championship was the thing.
And then the final four became in and of itself a thing.
And I think now it has become that getting to the second weekend is a thing, right?
Like, it's like an accomplishment for programs.
And so I do think, you know, if we lose, I still think it's,
It's hugely beneficial to the program to take this next step.
We played up to our seed, right?
Our seed said we should have been there.
We play to our seed.
I think that's good.
I agree with you.
It's been a long six years since they've been to the Sweet 16th.
I think it was important for this program to get back, at least to that level.
So even if they happen to lose on Friday, I'm still very happy they got to this second weekend.
Especially with six other SEC teams getting there.
Do you want to keep up as much as you can?
I mean, losing to Tennessee would stink.
That's not going to happen.
but for the sake of this exercise, 100 times out of 100 times.
I'm picking winning that game last night and then, you know,
if we had to lose to Tennessee.
But I think Tennessee could get smoked by Houston at that point.
If they still don't make a Final Four beating us,
it hurt a little bit, but wouldn't be bad in the big picture.
You know, I think, Shannon, I've said I think there's four teams in the tournament
have a really hard time beaten and none of them are in a region.
Yep.
So like it's still there for the taking.
We've already seen the toughest teams.
Tennessee is going to be a tough game.
But, you know, again, I've said this.
earlier, they beat Tennessee with the banged up roster that they had.
I think just getting here to the Sweet 16 with the roster that they have as it is.
Especially as it is. That's the key.
I mean, they are.
If they were fully healthy, I probably wouldn't say that.
I thought they were one person short before the season started, and then they lose their,
in my opinion, best player, and then they're two people short.
And so to be here with this group, I don't know how you can't be thrilled about it.
And really, they can go into the game Friday kind of loose.
You know, all the pressures on Tennessee, really.
Goosey.
By the way, I do not have tickets.
So I...
You want people to text you?
Well, I mean, the thing is, like, my mom is allowed to text me about tickets.
All right.
If you and I have been to each other's houses, you can text me about tickets, but I don't have them.
But you, if you want to ask.
Beyond that, please do not text me and ask me about tickets.
I don't have.
Would a tweet be better?
No, no, that will be worse.
Okay.
I don't have tickets.
And if I don't know you,
I really don't have tickets.
I've already told my wife we don't have tickets, so she's not getting tickets.
She's going to go and watch the bar.
Yeah.
If I can't get my wife in, I can't get anybody else.
Yeah, so, I mean, I can't get you tickets.
Like, you can send me something nice.
Like, you know, I'm a student at UK.
I can't afford to go.
And I totally appreciate that.
And I'd love to help you.
And if I could make the arena bigger, I would, but I don't have any tickets.
It's a tough one.
Tough tickets.
We'd love to hear your sob stories, though.
You can go up there and go to the pregame show and see the atmosphere.
No, I think it would be fun to just be an indie.
Yes.
You know, we were supposed to do trivia tomorrow and I.
I'm postponing it until hopefully early next week,
although that may not be clear either.
But just because there's too much going on,
Sweet 16 starts Wednesday, you got this basketball.
I just, I can't write these questions today.
On Mario's graphic, you looked excited to get.
Yeah, Mario, why did you use that?
Mario used a graphic that makes me look like it.
it says trivia is postponed and you took the graphic of me celebrating.
Why did you do that?
But I'm not, it is a good picture, but I'm not celebrating.
Like, I want to do it.
It's just I can't tonight.
No trivia.
I hate doing that trivia.
No, I enjoy doing the tribute, but you made it look like I didn't enjoy doing the trivia.
You have Kevin Harlan on your mind and, like, it's not, it's leading you to not focus.
I hope your girlfriend knows she's going to have to wear a mask this week.
This guy Kevin Harlan's.
Will he be calling the game in the ending notice?
No, we got Steve Lapis.
How do you feel about Steve?
Oh, he did.
Andrew Catalan.
Actually, all right, here's the thing.
I'm a little surprised.
We got the worst announcing pair, and we're on TBS, which I was told is because they now do it to where CBS gets to pick first one night and TBS the other night.
So presumably CBS picked Duke on Thursday, and then TBS got to pick the best game on Friday and got us.
We couldn't get Harlan because of the restraining order.
So it eliminated him.
Steve Lapis is a really good announcer with a really annoying voice.
Have you ever heard him speak?
Oh, yeah.
Just not paid attention.
He's a really good announcer if you listen to the substance of what he says,
but his voice, he's very much like he's got that like, I don't know if it's Brooklyn or Philly.
Like it's a thing.
It's a distinct thing.
Didn't we get Evan Washburn, though?
He's got great hair.
Evan Washburn does.
He is like 43 years old with tie-d-died, with blood.
Not tied-eyed.
What am I looking for?
Highlight bleached.
Yeah.
Our friend over here from Valpo told us that the Indiana high school state tournament is also going on next weekend.
That's something to think about when you're talking about hotels.
All right.
The regional Sweet 16 is Friday.
Elite 8 is Sunday.
But on the Saturday in between is the state high school tournament.
So that's eight teams coming in.
So Indianapolis is going to be, I mean, if you don't have hotel, get it now.
Whoa.
Who's next?
is up next.
Bram, go ahead, Bram.
Hey, guys.
After that first round performance,
I knew Lamont Butler was going to,
try and find his shot in the game.
I made a parlay
on the great Drap King Sportsbook.
The crown is yours.
And it just missed out on $300 by
four Butler points.
So that one in one, he missed
late in the second half. And then
when he passed off to Almanor
for those last free throws,
put a little damper on an otherwise great
night. But my question for you is, what do you think about an Arkansas,
Kentucky money line parlay for the Sweet 16?
Well, you know, they play Texas Tech. That's a tough matchup for them because Texas Tech
is very tough. I don't know what's going to happen with them. I really don't. I haven't
really thought a lot about it. I mean, both, I think Arkansas is going to be an underdog and so
is Kentucky, so you could probably get some money if both those hit. I think they both have a chance.
I mean, I think there's going to be some really good games in that next round. Alabama, BYU,
Both those teams might score 150 points.
I mean, that'll be wild.
Kentucky's a four and a half point dog right now.
The moment I saw the Illinois sign when we crossed last night,
I bet Kentucky to win and cover.
Bet them both.
You bet them both.
I mean, we weren't half a mile into Illinois, and I was on draft games.
I love it.
You know, I did pretty well at the casino.
You cleaned up at the casino.
Yeah, bet Arkansas money line.
We'll let you come back.
Illinois women.
That's what you want.
Minutes five and a half over crate.
That was a big one.
I felt it.
Had done some scouting on Creight and knew they were overrated.
Well, they were up five and a half time.
He said they were going to hold serve.
Yeah.
Drew and I retired a USC fighter.
Yeah.
We bet on.
That was a great moment.
You all decided to bet on a woman for UFC.
Not only did she lose, she retired.
Yeah.
Lost in the first round and laid them down.
Layed them down.
I went six and oh on basketball and 0 and 4 on UFC because Shannon just kept making me pick
random.
You can't just bet UFC based on how good they look in their uniform.
Like that's, that doesn't always work.
We didn't even see the other girls.
I was just going off names.
Shannon was trying to get me to do it.
Who's next?
Ben is up next.
Ben, go ahead, Ben.
Hey, Matt, first time caller.
Who are you going to say that I was at.
Just wanted to say that I was watching the game last night.
Both teams played pretty, pretty well.
I'm glad we eventually got the victory there.
And I'm interested to see what's going to happen this Friday with Tennessee.
I know Tennessee.
Tennessee is a good team.
We've already beat them twice, but there is a little bit of pressure on both sides,
I think, now that knowing we beat them twice and seeing if we can do it again.
But, yeah, that's all I had to say.
The big blue.
Yeah.
No, you're exactly right.
I appreciate the call.
We'll see what happens.
I do want to wait and focus on our matchup with Tennessee layer.
I do want to enjoy this.
All right, so some new coaches, how do we think they're going to do?
Will wait at NC State kills it, right?
He wins everywhere he goes.
You can kill it.
And he's perfect because he'll just, like, throw his middle finger up to Duke and North Carolina.
You're right.
Which is what you need to do in that job.
He will not be scared of Duke or North Carolina at all.
That's about as perfect to hire as they could have made.
They've been running third on Tobacco Road for a long time.
He will walk right in and try to shake that up.
Great hire for NC State.
I think he'll do well there.
Sean Miller leaves Xavier after they took him back.
Sean Miller, like, was desperate for a job.
Xavier goes, all right, you can come back here for a second time.
And now he leaves him again and goes to Texas.
you certainly can't go home a third time,
but you think he'll do well at Texas.
See, you know, there's a ton of NIL money down there at Texas,
and I think he's a really good coach.
I think he'll really, really do well down there.
I want to know what happened in Dayton when they played each other.
Was there a little just, did he just walk across the other side of the arena
and talk to the ADD?
Well, that's true.
I didn't think about that.
Yeah, they did play each other.
I mean, just a direct to hire from across the quarter.
And some people think Xavier's going to hire Chris Mack.
Former player.
Former player.
Played Xavier.
And he coached there too.
They just keep going back and hiring guys again.
We just keep adding great coaches in the SEC.
I mean, Texas is going to be even better next year.
I mean, and by the way, the portal opens today, which is another thing.
Like, it would be interesting to see how does Kentucky manage this?
Because the portal opens today and they got to be working on it because we're going to be hearing names all day getting in the portal.
The portal opens today.
Yeah, you're getting ready for Tennessee, but you've got to have some coaches their eye on that portal
because you've got to rebuild a roster for next year.
Yeah, that's why it's good.
to go far in the tournament. We all want to do that, but it does set all these teams back a little
bit because the ones that are out can just sit there and have nothing to do but call all these
players and be recruiting. Yeah, well, but at least we can go. We'll call you back when we actually
get eliminated. When it comes to college basketball, one thing's for sure, you don't know what's
going to happen, whether it's upsets, buzzer-beaters, Cinderella advancing. It's all there, and you can do it
at Draft King's Sportsbook. Drew's already done it for the Kentucky game. And if you want to participate,
bet five, get $200 in bonus bets instantly. But bet the unexpected with the draft King Sports

My man said his dad grew up in Danville, moved up here in northern Indiana,

Thank you very much. Richmond gets our KSR text today.
It says Mario leaves the house every day, and he listens to the song,
You'll Never Leave Harlan Alone.
It's a great brink.
It is a good bromance. It is a one way of romance, though. It is. I mean, he doesn't know you back.
He doesn't know that you're in love with it. But he doesn't. You'll never leave Kevin Harlan alone.
Now, Mario kind of said the same thing about you and Tom Crean yesterday.
Tom Green and I have just become genuine friends. He is so nice. He's like the nicest guy.
Like, I am starting to really like, I mean, Drew and I were talking about how much we've made fun of Tom Crean over the years.
He was like, next to you four, I talked to Tom Crean more than anyone.
this weekend.
Last night at the hotel while Mario was looking at Kevin Harlan swim suit pictures, I was
deleting Tom Crean tweets because I feel so bad for any joke I've ever made.
I know.
The game was about to start.
He's courtside for the radio broadcast and he called me over to him to ask me what restaurants
I've been to when we're getting on the road.
If we win, if I'm going to Indian, I'm thinking, what is going on?
He asked if he could host again this summer.
Like Tom Crean is like the nicest guy.
We always said he's so nerdy.
He is, but I, but he's kind of cool.
He's kind of cool.
I can't believe I'm saying this.
Look at this.
I kind of, I kind of really like Tom Crean.
We were talking burritos.
We were talking like, wow.
I think he's kind of my guy.
I'm not going to lie to you.
There was a time where his name came up for even to be the coach here.
Well, slow down.
But I do think it just as a person, I think I really like Tom cream.
Tom Creen doesn't know me from Adam.
And he's walking by me and, hey, how you doing?
You know, just making conversation with anybody that will say hi to him.
Yeah, I think Tom Crean's going to become a friend of the show.
I do, actually.
Already has.
Yeah.
Next road trip.
We talked about this last night.
Mari Williams said he liked Wheatabix.
It's a British cereal that he couldn't get in the United States, but it's like shredded
wheat.
And I guess you can listen to the whole story on the postgame show, but they went and found
him some in Milwaukee.
He ate it with hot milk.
And we said we need to find it in Lexington for him in Lexington, but also for us.
us to try leading into the game.
And then somebody told me that there is an Irish grocery store in Lexington, which I had no
idea.
Me neither.
First of all, I didn't even know that people thought Irish food was good, right?
Like, it's like, bangers and mash.
I guess.
Is that Irish or is that British?
Whatever.
You can't, well, they don't think Irish people.
You don't want to confuse it.
Is it fish and chips?
Is that British or is that Irish?
It's both.
I think it's both.
But you have to be, you have to be careful.
Careful. Irish people don't want you confusing them with British people because there's a lot of history there.
But apparently there's an Irish place. I did not know.
Me neither.
That there's a little Irish store next to McCarthy's.
Did you know that?
No, I didn't know.
I had no idea. What's it called?
Feta bill? Fittabill.
I think it's just saying extra syllable.
I don't know the name, but I've walked by it a hundred times going to McCarthy's.
It's fetal.
I don't think that's it.
Feetal bill.
B-I-L.
Whatever it is.
They apparently have Wheatabix because they tweeted,
at Amari Williams saying we've got your weed abics.
So if you at Feed a Bill or Fit a Will or whatever it is,
I'll pronounce it correctly.
If you will get us a box of this Wheatabix,
I'm glad to pay for you.
You don't have to give it to me.
And we'll do it with the warm milk
and we'll taste what it tastes like.
We'd love to try it.
Unfortunately, they didn't have any
the Continental Breakfast over here today.
Listen, nothing makes Shandon Dude happier
than a good continental breakfast.
They had omelets with cheese.
They did it, the omelets.
It was good.
Who's up next?
It's the number five cereal on Amazon today, by the way.
No way.
It's the number five cereal on Amazon.
He didn't say that until 10 o'clock last time.
That's Amari Williams.
I mean, that's the, you want the power of BB in.
Wow.
Wheatabix is the number five series.
That's crazy.
That's absolutely correct.
We never even heard of.
Go ahead, Brad.
Who's next?
We got Randy up next.
Randy, how are you, Randy?
Hey, that's called the Kentucky effect on the cereal guys.
Two things.
Number one, I looked at my youngest daughter's bracket this morning.
morning. She's got an all-SCC final four, Kentucky, Florida, Auburn, and Alabama.
It's not crazy.
Auburn playing final. So she picked Auburn, but that's okay. And second off, the third game of
the season, when we went to Atlanta and played Duke, after that game, I said BBN is back
and Kentucky basketball was back. Look at it now and look at our fan base.
Yeah, I think that's right. If you were to go back and listen to that,
to my post-game show after the Duke game, I said something kind of similar, that there was
just an energy and a magic back, and it's only continued all year. I mean, that was, you know,
this team, I mean, I appreciate the call. This team went 22, or 20 and 11 in the regular season.
That's not, like, for Kentucky standards, an insanely great record, although when you consider
their schedule, I think it was pretty good. But it still felt like there was an energy and
an excitement that was different. And then I think we've sort, we've seen that,
At SEC tournament, the amount of Kentucky fans were wild.
I know we lost, but it was wild, and then the Oklahoma game was wild.
And then same thing here with the energy around everything.
And I think this week, this week is going to be like a week of hype that's going to be awesome.
I agree.
This is going to be an awesome week.
I don't know what's going to happen Friday night, but this is going to be an awesome week.
You're right.
You know, out of their 20 wins, some of their wins were like really, really big wins.
And I think that's what is added to it.
You know, you know, you another.
Excuse me.
You want to come join us just one second.
Here, real quick, I just have like two minutes or it's going to be over.
Just put this headset on right here.
Put this headset on.
This is Annette.
This is Annette.
You work here at True, right?
Yes, I do.
You are maybe the happiest person I've ever seen.
You hug everyone that gets a continental breakfast.
Yes.
Why do you get so happy?
I wake up like this.
Put that microphone above you just a little bit.
There you go.
Hey, y'all.
Hey.
So I wake up.
like this, okay? So I learned through life that it takes more energy to be negative than to be positive.
So let's just say that Mario were to come up real quick. I just got 30 seconds and he comes to
breakfast. What do you say to him when he walks in? Good morning, boo. Good morning, boo.
Give me loving. Gil, give her loving, Mario. Act like she's Kevin Harlan. Give her loving. There you go.
I mean, because the world is love, okay? We forget that we got to love on each other and respect.
each other and be that for each other. Come on. I agree with you. Well, Merrillville is a much more
beautiful place because of you and that. There you go. And give a message to the people of Kentucky
real quick. Oh, I love you people in Kentucky, okay? I come to Mary in Kentucky all the time.
Say go cats. Go cats. There we go. All right. Thank you all very much for listening. We will be
at KS Bar tomorrow. Thank you to Annette. We'll see you later. Cats are in the Sweet 16. This is

Another podcast from some
SNL late night comedy guy, not
quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel
and friends. Me and hilarious guests
from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day
and head writer Streeter Seidel
help an a cappella band with their
between songs banter. Where does your group
perform? We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind.
And nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where SportsSlice comes in.
I'm Timbo.
And every episode, we're cutting through the noise,
breaking down the biggest moments in sports
and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source,
the athletes themselves.
Their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment,
and the stuff nobody gets to hear.

Hey, what's good, y'all?
You're listening to Learn the Hardway with your favorite therapist and host Kear Games.
This space is about black men's experiences, having honest conversations that's really not safe to have anywhere,
but you're having them with a licensed professional who knows what he's doing.
How many men carry a suit or armor?
It signals to the world that you're not to be played with.
And just because you have the capability that does not mean that you need to.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days I'd put on 10 pounds, I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
