Welcome back to KSR, hour number two here on a Friday, April 11th, Billy, in the weather. I can't see outside, but I don't know.
Starting point is 00:03:20 It's out there, whatever it is. Isn't that how it works? Weather and dates? I got to give those. 42 degrees in cloudy, according to my computer here. But thank you for that update. You know where it's not cloudy? Where?
Starting point is 00:03:32 KSR Bowling League. Oh, it's back. Starts April 23rd right around the corner. Southland Lanes every Wednesday night at 7 p.m. Come bowl with us. Scoop limit will be there. I'll be there. Matt will pop in.
Starting point is 00:03:44 KSR and IHeart will have teams. And think you have what it takes to beat us. The league is 12 weeks long mixed with league of four-person teams. You can have subs on deck if you miss a night. But it's $7,000 cash prize pool. I don't know how it's about it up. get $7,000 if you win. That's still a lot of money to spread across. Divided by four or five
Starting point is 00:04:04 people, right? And bowling is just awesome. They have good pizza out there by the way. That's not the screw. They do. Great pizza. They do. But yeah, Southland Bowling Lanes. We'll be there for the KSR League. Get signed up at KSR bowling.com. You can save $50 total if you pay for the 12 weeks up front. There's a meeting
Starting point is 00:04:20 on April 16th that's coming up. The league starts on the 23rd, so get signed up at KSR bowling.com. Does your old man back let you bowl? Oh, yeah. kind of you and far in between. Yeah, I mean, the back issues come and go, but I can handle some bowling. I'm not great, but I'm not just some bum out there.
Starting point is 00:04:36 Good. I got probably a 140-ish, 150-ish. That sounds about right for me too. I mean, I'll do a 110 every once a while or maybe sneak in a 180, but I'd say on average it's about where I am. No bumpers, too. I mean, it's a legit 140. Yeah. Do you think people know what the giveaway is now?
Starting point is 00:04:53 Don't say the words. Now, your last word, I think did give it away. I think so. But you had to listen to every single second. to get each word. That's right. I wanted to reward the listeners this week. It's a listener appreciation week.
Starting point is 00:05:04 So I have two tickets to see Tyler Childers next Saturday at Krogerfield. And one lucky listener. We're going to put Rick to work. I hope Rick's ready over there. Finally. He's done great all week. But there's a challenge today. When you call in on the Clark's Pumper Shop phone line, 859-2-80-2-8-7, A, make sure you're
Starting point is 00:05:25 able to go to that and you want these. because, you know, this is a big giveaway. It's good seats, too. Oh, they're really good seats. Oh, yeah. Not news fleets. But Rick is going to make sure you have the buzzwords because it hit me during that break. If the first person says them, then everyone will note them.
Starting point is 00:05:39 Right. So you have to clear it with Rick. Don't say it on air. Don't say it on air unless you want more people in this contest. And at the end, I'm just everyone that gets through and knew the buzzwords and entertained us with calls. We're just going to draw one randomly. Okay. Probably be about four or five people maybe.
Starting point is 00:05:55 I don't know. We'll see how it goes. We'll do that last segment maybe. Yeah. I might even have people on Twitter. We'll see. We're making this up as we go. It's KSR.
Starting point is 00:06:04 But you know the four buzzwords. Don't tell anyone. If you're interested in Tyler Childers at Krogerfield, part of Lexington's 250th birthday party, call in, let Rick know. And then you also have to tell us something. Tell us about Lexington. You know, the buzzwords are your entry fee,
Starting point is 00:06:20 but you can't just say hi and hang up. I'm not. I call for the tickets. I'm not putting you in the hat when I draw names later. if you don't have something to say. And I'll even say this. If you make me laugh or give us a good Lexington fact, you get two entries. I'll write your name down twice in this hat. So if you have a good call, double the chances. Can you tell I'm making this up as we go? I can. But it's a great way to end Drew Paloza. I think it's a great way to do it. One more Lexington thing before we move on. There's a big event this summer that I'm excited about. I'll be telling you about a lot. But they're having a big ass bourbon party. That's not me. That's not me cussing on air. That's what it's actually called. It's Thursday, or got moved. It was on my actual birthday. I was going to have a Lexington slash Drew birthday, but it's June 11th. It's a bourbon tasting at Lex Live. It's only $25 and you get a four-flighted bourbon tasting, a commemorative t-shirt. They're trying to make history. They're trying
Starting point is 00:07:12 to get 2,025 people at this bourbon tasting at Lex Live to help celebrate Lexington turning 250. It's only like an hour. It's going to be from like six to seven. You can be home in plenty of time to watch your shows, but it's going to be a lot of fun. Live music from Honey Child. You're familiar with Honey Child? I'm not. They played my wedding. Love Honey Child.
Starting point is 00:07:32 Love Honey Child. I would go to this event if it was just Honey Child in there by themselves singing. Honey Child, add them to the Lexington musicians, by the way. Okay. If you have that list, put them with the Backstreet Boys. They might even be better than the Backstreet Boys. But mark your calendar for June. We'll have more on fun on that later.
Starting point is 00:07:45 Tickets go on sale in May. But a big bourbon party and go get some flights of bourbon for only 25 bucks and celebrate this 250 Lex. Sounds like a great deal. We had the mayor talking about, was it, Bluegrass Tea when she was in after? I think she meant bourbon. I think so, too. Yeah, I don't think the mayor can be talking about drinking bourbon and play,
Starting point is 00:08:04 but I think that's what she was alluding to. Well, it might help you with the nerves. I will have a few if they happen there. It may not help with your memory of the lines, but we'll get to that bridge when we cross it. Heck, we could maybe practice them later on this show. A few more Lexington things, and we'll wrap it up. Been a lot of Lexington. I know, not everyone lives in Lexington, but I did want to celebrate, you know,
Starting point is 00:08:22 $250, that's a big birthday. It's a lot of years. She doesn't look a day past 240. Other famous Lexingtonians, Mary Todd Lincoln, Ryan Lemon's favorite Lexingtonian. Pass that house a lot. Yes. It's a haunted house. It's haunted?
Starting point is 00:08:35 I've never been, but if you search haunted Lexington, which I did last night, it's one of the big results. I don't know if Mary's in there haunting people, but there are some legends about some hauntings going on at the Mary Todd Lincoln. I'd love to know more if anybody does know more. For those who don't know, she was married to President Abraham Lincoln. Heard of him. I would hope so. George Clooney. George Clooney.
Starting point is 00:08:56 From Lexington. Went to school. His family moved to Augusta, Kentucky. Augusta, Kentucky. But he was born in Lexon, at least as Wikipedia page tells me so. I have heard that before. Does he ever come back? I haven't seen much.
Starting point is 00:09:10 There's rumors that he likes the cats, but you don't see him wearing the shirts. I didn't see him on KS board talking about a Caden Lewis last night. So I question George Clooney's allegiance to the cats. George, you can call us and explain us what's going on there if you want to make the case. I will keep him down as a famous Lexingtonian for now. Okay. Josh Hopkins, we heard from him earlier in the week, from Quantico, Cougar Town, Rust coming up.
Starting point is 00:09:34 Die Hard Cats fan. He does not have to prove that he likes Kentucky. I think if you heard Wednesday show, it was very clear. Yeah, no, he was freaking out about the roster. Listening to sources say and texting Pilgrim about details after the show, so he's a big fan. What about Jim Varney? You know, Jim Varney?
Starting point is 00:09:49 What if I tell you his name is Ernest from the Ernest franchise? Oh, yeah. now I know it. Nobody loved Ernest movies like a young Drew Franklin loved Ernest movies. I think I had several to VHSs. Ernest goes to camp. Ernest scared stupid. Ernest saves Christmas.
Starting point is 00:10:04 Ernest goes to jail. I know you're a little younger than me, Billy, but didn't get any better than Ernest movies as a kid. Now, this was a Fade this episode where we rediscovered Ernest. That's right. And you guys gave me homework. And I watched a little earnest. Oh, well, I don't think we've done Fade this since.
Starting point is 00:10:19 That's a conversation in itself. What did you learn about your earnest home? work. Not much. We'll follow up six months later. Yeah, it was a long time ago, so I don't remember that, but you're telling me the guy that plays Ernest is a famous Lexingtonian. Yes, he passed away years ago, but he was Jim Barney the name, but everyone knows him as Ernest. There was like 200 Ernest movies. I do remember you being a huge fan when we talked about this on Fayette. Ernest goes to camp. It's probably my favorite. I think I saw that more than any of them, but Ernest scared stupid, I think gave me nightmares with the Miak. It's a great, great, great. I think
Starting point is 00:10:52 I had to like watched a trailer or something back in the day. And I had gotten my fill. So is that it for your list or you got some more? Maybe we'll do more Lexington throughout the show. It's been very Lexington and heavy. And I'm looking up at the TV and I see the Masters. I'm wearing a Master's shirt, master's hat. Can't wait to get home to watch more of it.
Starting point is 00:11:10 But I have to get your take on, I guess we'll call it a controversy yesterday. What was the guy's name, Jose Ballester? I'll admit I was never familiar with this guy until yesterday. Yeah, we're going to go with that. Okay, Jose Belester. Not only was he wearing like an upside down Arizona State hat at the Masters, which is an odd move, but whatever, wear your hat. I guess those are trending now.
Starting point is 00:11:32 He, during some downtime on the course as a participant, he took a leak in Wraise Creek. The most iconic creek in golf, the most iconic course in golf. It is sacred grounds there. Billy, if you drop a wrapper from a straw, someone will be behind you in two seconds to pick it up. The grounds there, you've been, it's like, even the common areas where people are just trampling,
Starting point is 00:11:54 it's like walking on a nice putting surface. Like, it's immaculate. It is. And men and blazers are watching your every move. So for the fact that an actual golfer turned his back to the crowd to pee into the legendary Rays Creek, Drew, I'm stunned. I want to go in on the guy, but I can't find the words to it, to do it, Drew. One, I don't want to be a hypocrite because I've maybe peed on a golf course before.
Starting point is 00:12:18 Oh, who hasn't? But this is Augusta. What a lack of respect by this U.S. amateur champion, Drew, and my question now is, do you let the guy play today? I don't think you let the guy out of prison. He's in a gust of the rest of his life. He should already be out of Georgia and in a pen somewhere. Even worse, he did his press conference.
Starting point is 00:12:39 Colin Morocco could never. But Jose Belestra? Yes. Belester? He doubled down. He's like, I'd do it again. He's like, I had to go. I'm on a golf course.
Starting point is 00:12:49 I would do it again if the situation came up. They should have taken him off the grounds right there. I take responsibility, but I do not apologize. Anyone out there that golfs, you know, sometimes you're on a course. Bathroom's a little far away. You look around, it happens. There's not spectators everywhere. There's not TV cameras everywhere, and it's not Augusta National.
Starting point is 00:13:12 But Jose, what are you doing? You're on the second or third most famous hole on the entire course as well. this is Ray's Creek. I could not believe it. And the kicker is there are porta potties and restrooms on that hole. He said he could see one, but it was too far away. Come on now. Come on, Jose.
Starting point is 00:13:29 What are we doing? This generation just thinks they can do anything they want, Drew. Kick him out of the sport. Now I'm looking at TV, which is going to be my next topic. Fred Couples is on the screen. Oh, and now I'm back. Now I love Freddie Couples. Fred, I'm surprised Fred didn't throw Jose off the course.
Starting point is 00:13:44 Fred loves the Masters. Last week, he was tied for 54. in a champions event. He won $4,000. This week, I don't know what place he's in there. I guess he hadn't teed off yet. But this week, was that the best shot of the day yesterday? One of them. How far out was he? 196. Inside 200 yards, he used a hybrid, or I think it was a six wood that they said after the broadcast. Seven would. Even crazier.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Unbelievable, that guy's still playing. And not only that, he's in red figures. He's got a chance to make the cut. I absolutely love it. The first time, Freddie Couples went under par in the Masters, was is 1983. So what is that? 42 years or a roundabout? Unbelievable that that guy's still throwing darts like that. That's what I like about the Masters.
Starting point is 00:14:30 You know, golf's all about and who can hit bombs these days, but not there. The old guys who know the course, they can still take you down. And he was using a yellow ball. I think that just adds to it. A seven wood with a yellow ball.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Freddie Couples holds it. I hope he continues to have a big day. Justin Rose had a big day. What's it like his fifth time leading after one round? I think it was like his 20th Masters. So the guy knows the course now, but he's never won. He's got like two or three runner-up finishes.
Starting point is 00:14:58 So he's put himself in contention. Did you see Nick Dunlap became only the 11th guy to shoot 90 or above at the Masters? And he had zero three putts. So riddle me that, Drew. A pro golfer shooting 90 in the Masters. He should have been thrown in the same
Starting point is 00:15:14 police car as Jose and they should both be taken off the ground. That scored him out. That's the second most disrespectful thing someone did to Augustus. Signed for a 90 at Augusta, yeah. It's a popular radio topic right now. I've heard it on like several podcasts, but people have been bringing up the, could you win the Masters if you
Starting point is 00:15:30 started on the Green? Like from the farthest point from the hole on the Green, could you win the Masters? I don't think I could. I don't think I could because I'd have to have maybe like 11 or 12 birdies. And if you're turning me on the other side of the green, the undulation of these
Starting point is 00:15:46 things are incredible. Like, It's hard to comprehend just on TV how hilly the place is and how much these greens go up and down. So I'm going to say no to that, Drew, amazingly. Same here. I'd make the cut. I would definitely put money on me to make the cut. I might even shoot par. I think if I just kind of lag putted my way around, I could get to a tap in, make par on every hole.
Starting point is 00:16:08 But winning it. Hey, I mean, you're the one birdie and holes at Valhalla on camera, right? That's true. Ironic holes. Yeah. The island hole. That was a birdie. Stuck it tight.
Starting point is 00:16:19 Let's ignore the fact I shot 110. You chipped in twice at Valhalla. Twice. If you're going to let me brag on the radio, I guess I should note that not once but twice hold out when we played on Valhalla last year. Thank you. Yep. That's because I just could not get on the green at all.
Starting point is 00:16:33 So I just had to eventually get into the hole because I could not stay on the green. But a big thank you to Gary who led us out there and we had some great time. Lots of fun. They whipped us though. Well, they know the course. I mean, come on. We're out there just sysseeing. drove four hours that morning to make our tea time.
Starting point is 00:16:50 So I was a little stiff getting off, getting out of the car and getting started. That was my worst round in a long time, probably since I was like 10. And I don't think you've played since. Actually, I haven't. That's a fact. Right. KSR golf scrabble on May 30th, I'll be playing that. A couple spots still open.
Starting point is 00:17:03 It's like Valhalla. Get in there. It's kind of like the PGA. Hey, I love University Club. Big Blue is as scenic as any public course. And Wildcat, I mean, I've played so much. I know that better than the back of my hand. I've already learned.
Starting point is 00:17:14 My team is on Wildcat because we're the defending champs on Wildcat. It's easier. So come get some. Easier. Well, come get some more KSR after this. Billy and I are going to get to this game. Call in, tell Rick the four buzzwords, and then entertain us with your phone call. And one lucky listener will win two tickets to Tyler Childers at Kroger Field.
Starting point is 00:17:31 Next weekend, we'll be right back. This is KSR. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo. Every episode, we're cutting through the noise.
Starting point is 00:17:46 Breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines. We go straight to the source, the athletes themselves. Their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear. The laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments that never make the highlight real. From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down, give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants answered. Sports slice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them. Listen to Sports Slice on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:18:20 And for more, follow Timbo Sliced Life 12 in the TikTok podcast network on TikTok. What's up, guys? This is Clivert Taylor the 4th. And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff. Like being an internet famous referee. We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me. He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What?
Starting point is 00:18:43 Time out. quarterback on office blue with 42. Hey, Brett. My mama want you to weigh better. What? Where's she at? Hey, Miss Parker. Listen to the Cliverts show on the IHeart Radio app,
Starting point is 00:19:00 Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
Starting point is 00:19:20 And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reed. He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has to give us everything he gives us
Starting point is 00:19:39 on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nash will get that thing. That man, hell get the flying. He running up the court, licking his fingers why he got the ball. Like, you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:58 Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball. So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, actress, mother, lover, and a Gen X woman walking through life, one hot flash and hormonal crying jag at a time. You ladies know what I mean. I'll bet you a paramedipausal chin here you do. So let's talk about it. Join me on my new podcast.
Starting point is 00:20:20 How hard can it be with the Adamani Arriva, where I call on my Gen X squads from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate midlife's most fantastic BS. All of a sudden, I'd had hanginess happening on my own. I was like, what the hell is that? I was married when I had her, so I didn't even consider how empty that nest was going to be. Suit swings, night sweats, fupas, sex drive.
Starting point is 00:20:45 Wait, what sex? Dating at 45. How hard can it be? Getting naked at 50 with the new guy. That one's kind of hard. Well, that's lighting. They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to try. So let's get blunt with laughs, tears or tears of laughter, and dive into it, unfiltered and unbothered and ask, how hard can it be?
Starting point is 00:21:02 I cannot believe I'm about to say this out loud in public. Listen to How Hard Can It Be with Diana Maria Riva as part of my Cultura Podcast Network, available on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome back to Kentucky Sports Radio. Drew Franklin and Billy R. Sports. Having a great time on our last Friday without the adults of the company. They all ran off to vacation. Two of them are in the ocean together, swimming, putting suns around each other, holding each other, getting bird poop on them.

Starting point is 00:22:13 Billy, I have our whiskey thief. We're going to make it a tweet of the day. Okay, let's do it. Patricia Rowland, congratulations. You are our whiskey thief tweeter of the day. She added a few more famous Lexingtonians. Harry Dean Stanton from Lafayette High School is a longtime character in many, many movies. There's also Michael Shannon.
Starting point is 00:22:32 He's a big time actor. Went to Henry Clay. And Laura Bell Bundy is from Lexington. Matt was in a music video with Laura Bell Bundy, if I'm not mistaken. Do you remember which one that was? I don't know the exact title, but a few more popular Lexingtonians there. But now let's get some popular callers. Rick, who's up first on the phone line?
Starting point is 00:22:50 Casey up first. Casey, thank you for calling in. Are you participating in the contest or are you just here to say hi? Just here to say hi. I already have tickets. You're here to say hey, Fellers. Yes, good morning, fellas. So I actually have something for you, though.
Starting point is 00:23:07 Have you all heard of the Mountain Dew conspiracy theory? No, but you have the floor. Okay, so there's this conspiracy theory that every time, like, a new flavor of Mountain Dew comes out, a natural disaster happens. And the conspiracy theory is that, like, the CIA is dropping these flavors to kind of give us a head up of what's a heads up of what's going to happen. So, for instance, there's a pitch black Mountain Dew three months after it was released. There was a horrible IT blackout, if you all remember that. Everything shut down. There's a star spangled.
Starting point is 00:23:41 Banner Mountain Dew. Well, three months after it come out, that boat hit that the Francis Scott Key bridge who wrote the Star Sangled Banner, Francis Scott Key. And it goes back even as far as cold red came out three months before 9-11. And that's what a cold red is, is like a terrorist attack. So I thought it was crazy.
Starting point is 00:24:02 I've been enveloped in it like for three days now. I found about a couple days ago, and I had to share. And I hope somebody wins tickets, has a great time. I will see you there. I hope you guys to have a great day. Thank you, Casey. I know what I'm going to be doing with my internet time this afternoon. I like internet conspiracy theories.
Starting point is 00:24:18 This is the first I've heard of the Mountain Dewant. Do you believe in this building? Well, if there's no such things as coincidences, then you would have to believe in something like this. I mean, the code read before 9-11, though. I mean, that's scary. I love me some Baja blast. I'd hate to think about the natural disaster
Starting point is 00:24:35 or thing that happened right after that came out. I have a good story about Baja blast. Would you like to hear? I would love a Baja Blast. I didn't know you're going to bring a Baja Blast. Years ago, long-time KSR listeners know that Taco Bell flew me to headquarters in California to be one of the first people to eat the Doritos Locos Taco. I've heard stories of this, but tell me more.
Starting point is 00:24:52 For our longtime listeners and readers, I will eventually finish part two of that. I think it's been about 12 years since I wrote part one. But one of the best trips of my life was like going to Wonka's chocolate factory. Golden Ticket, Charlie. Yeah. I got to meet the, I believe he was the CEO, and he was explaining Baja Blast, and he was on vacation and looking at the ocean. and was like, he probably had a few of those teas, Linda Gordon was happening.
Starting point is 00:25:13 But he said, I want to drink that color. And then he just took a picture of the ocean and then sent it to research and development. And he's like, I don't care what it tastes like. I just want to drink the color of the ocean that I'm looking at right now. So a little backstory on the history of Baja Blas. The Genesis, just looking out into the ocean and wanting to drink the salty seawater. Talk about having power. Just probably had a couple, a few pinocaladas.
Starting point is 00:25:35 You're in your recliner and you're like, that ocean's pretty. I'm going to create a nationwide drink that will be sold in all of our stores just based on me staring at this ocean. And it was only in Taco Bells for the longest time. Exactly. And now they're selling it everywhere. It's not the same. Rick, let's get some people that need to win this contest because it's a good prize. And I got to get some people that are participating.
Starting point is 00:25:53 Who gave you? Give me someone that gave you the buzzwords. Okay. Let's go with Cole. Cole gave me the buzzwords. All right, Cole, you passed the test. What's up? Hey, how are you all doing, Drew?
Starting point is 00:26:06 It's good to talk to you all. Drew and Rick, you've done a great job this week holding down the fort. And Billy, it's always great to hear you on the big show. Thank you. Do I need to just go ahead and tell you the buzzwords there, Drew? No, you can't say the buzzwords, but you have anything else for us? You can win a double entry if you're entertaining or have anything about Lexington, or were you just dropping buzzwords to enter?
Starting point is 00:26:29 I'm going to drop buzzwords to enter. Well, you already told him to Rick, so just tell us anything. What's going on in your life? Or name it Tyler Childers song. I couldn't be more proud of my Braves last night, Drew, went in on a walk off Marzell-Azuna home run, which made us happy. And every time I go to Lexington, I try to hit Local Taco. How about those two buzzwords?
Starting point is 00:26:50 There you go. There you go. Great job. Make sure Rick has your email. You're in contention now. Thank you for listening to the first hour. Thanks for bringing up the Braves. We appreciate the call.
Starting point is 00:27:00 Local Taco, another call. Appreciate you guys. Take care. Yeah, tugging at the sponsor, heartstrings a little bit there. Matt's Local Taco spot will go down in history. Hey, they don't sponsor me. That's a good place, though. Rick, do we have time for a quick one? Yeah, we got the other caller who had the words, Drew. Oh, Drew, nice name. Hey, Drew. Tell us something entertaining.
Starting point is 00:27:20 Hey, guys, Drew from Corbyn here. Hey, so I don't know if you said this earlier, but there's a master's champion that used to live. He finished out his career in Lexington. Did you all talk about Gay Brewer from 1967 Masters Champion? I appreciate the call. Thank you for bringing that up. I actually meant to add him to Ryan's list of because I just took Ryan's notes. But yes, Gay Brewer won the Masters. Very topical right now. Got his own course over there by Case Bar.
Starting point is 00:27:45 Pick a dome. Pick a dome. A course that you will get hit by a golf ball from another player because it is so tight over there. But I did not know about Gay Brewer in the origin there. Sounds like you've either hit someone with golf ball. It's not that tight. Oh, it's tight. There seems like a personal story.
Starting point is 00:28:01 I mean, I've almost gotten hit a couple times. I have not hit or hit somebody yet. But I'm sure that'll happen as much golf. as I play. All right, we got, we got two entries. I thought this was going to go a little better. I thought we'd have full phone lines. So far, 50-50 shot to win Tyler Childers tickets. We got Cole. We got Drew. Tell you what, if you're on the Twitter machine, the X, I'm at Drew Franklin, KSR. If you send me the four buzzwords, I will have someone in the building, because I recognize a lot of names.
Starting point is 00:28:28 I don't play favorites. I'll have someone just randomly pick one of the Twitter people. We'll add them to the mix. Okay. We got a lot to get to in these final two segments. I have a game. Billy brought a game. We're going to play that next. You sure you want to do that instead of aliens and conspiracy theories? Well, Richie Farmer did text me just now. It says, when are you going to talk about aliens and ghosts? I mean, if we went for him. Richie wants the aliens too.
Starting point is 00:28:48 I mean, it used to be when's Richie going to play. Now Richie is texting in a radio show saying when are you going to talk about ghosts and aliens. Maybe we'll work those in, but as usual, I overprogrammed. It's got way too much going on here. But we're having fun. We'll be right back after this. It's Drew and Billy in downtown Lexington at the I Heart Studio. This is KSR.
Starting point is 00:29:08 I'm not Matt Jones. Drew Franklin. I can't keep telling you all this. It's been doing it all week, but it's been Drew and Drew Palooza. Today's the last day before Shannon and Ryan get back next week. I got Billy Rutledge with me, and this segment is brought to us by UK Federal Credit Union, the official credit union of the University of Kentucky, serving UK since 1937 and supporting the educational community from student to graduate, employee and beyond UKFC is here for you and here for life. Recently named a Newsweek Best Regional Credit Union and three-peat winner of Harold Leaders Best in Lex Award for credit unions.
Starting point is 00:29:39 Congratulations. It's a big deal. Stop by today or go online at UKFCU.org to join membership eligibility required, federally insured by NCUA. Billy, we're going to play your game in just a second, but we're going to take a few more entries. Let's do it. Rick, who's up first? Robert is up first. Robert, I hear you pass the test.
Starting point is 00:29:55 What do you have from me and Billy? Well, just two more Lexington guys, I don't know if you mentioned, but what everybody likes, Jim Barney, you don't mention Jim Barney, Ernest P. Worrell. We did. Love Ernest, but I'm glad you brought them up again. I can't talk enough about Ernest. And somebody, everybody disliked, Billy Reed, who hated our cats. But one more, one more.
Starting point is 00:30:24 Yeah, he hated the cat from Lexington now. But one thing, I really wish we could just get rid of the term NIL, because these guys are all on salary now. Let's get rid of that term. and save NIL for the Clark's Pumpet Shop commercials, that would be great. I agree. That's the way it was intended. To make rap videos at Clark's Pumpet Shop and sell T-shirts, it's gotten way out of hand. But we appreciate the call.
Starting point is 00:30:52 Rick, who's next that knew the four buzzwords? Greg is up next. Greg, talk to us. I pump. I shop. Hey, Drew, Billy. Y'all are doing a great job. One place in Lexington, I always ago when I visited is Joe Bologna.
Starting point is 00:31:08 and I love their pizza. But I've also been practicing your lines for Cala Paris. And I know what they are. It's woo pig, suey, let's go. All right. I appreciate that call. Kind of. We got you entered in the contest.
Starting point is 00:31:30 Rick, let's get one more. Okay, the last one is Jason. Jason, talk to us. Hey, Drew. What's up? up how's going? We're having a blast. I'm going to miss doing this next week when I go back to my corner like
Starting point is 00:31:43 Killing Green's standing in your corner. Just wait for the ball to be passed to me. You just have to jump in when Ryan's not talking or whatever. It won't be hard next week. Got a couple things for you. Actually, from Johnson County, Tyler Childers went to school in Paintsville, high school. And I work, and I'm in Virgie almost every day of my life,
Starting point is 00:32:07 kind of the song comes to my mind and also at my wedding in 2020 we uh when we walked out to all yorn so thought it's kind of cool and appropriate to call thank you appreciate the call i like that nugget yeah record's one of my best favorite songs about tyler yorn all yorn yeah that one and uh i will wait for you i don't know the words i guess but i like that one too uh you brought a game Billy. You have the floor. Tell me what I'm playing. Yeah. Were you voted anything in high school when you were a senior, like most likely to? I was. What was it? A class clown, actually. You were pretty sure I swept the vote. You voted. You were voted his class class. Probably unsurprised many people. I was voted most likely to host a reality TV show. I see it. We're getting
Starting point is 00:32:54 close. You're a little Jeff Proops over there. Yeah, we can get there one day. But I want to play who in KSR is most likely too. Oh, okay. I have a list of about 10 topics that we will go through. and you tell me who on KSR is most likely to do this thing. All right. All right. Starting off, who on KSR is most likely to give an Irish goodbye, to leave without saying goodbye at a party?
Starting point is 00:33:16 This is easy, Matt. He did it to us in Milwaukee. We were at Shannon wanted to go to the haunted bar. I'm forgetting the name. But yeah, haunted bar in Milwaukee. It's like a cigar bar. Shannon and I get a couple cigars. Shannon jumped in a ghost tour without paying.
Starting point is 00:33:31 They were walking past us and he just got in line and disappeared to the back of the building. sorry for telling you Shannon you owe them 30 bucks but not even the third of the way through my cigar and we're all like where's Matt? He's gone head on back to the Airbnb so that one's easy Matt Jones
Starting point is 00:33:46 yeah well he's got to get back to watch a game too I mean it's uh I think he was afraid of ghost well I would be too if they uh if they I was in a haunted house go through a couple more who would have your back in a fight who on KSR would most likely back you up if you got in a fight well I'd like to think all of them
Starting point is 00:34:04 I'm probably going to go Ryan. You or Ryan. Actually, I could see Shannon, too. Matt, I feel like, would try to talk his way out of it. I don't know if he's going to... You need somebody that'll step in and just landing some haymakers if it gets to that point. I don't know if it's Matt in that situation. It's not Mario.
Starting point is 00:34:23 I think he's filming the fight. Even though he would be on board. Like, he would protect us. But I think he's filming the fight. I like to think that all of you would. I'm going to say Ryan, though. he's the most protective it's that he has that dad instinct with all of us i think a a switch would flip in shannon's head and i feel like he would like come after anybody that would come after
Starting point is 00:34:44 one of us you know what i mean uh he could seize the moment with that wrestler personality i could see him flipping a switch you know i'm worried about ryan i'm i'm hoping that he's not already on the ground after somebody sucker punched him so it's true uh so i'm going to go shannon there you're going ryan who on ksr is most likely to bail you out of jail after you make your one phone call We know Matt's got the capital to bail you out of jail, but is that what you're calling first? I'm going to make a caveat. If Matt can Venmo the money to you in jail, he would absolutely part ways with the money to help you. It's just a matter of could we get him to the jail to pay it?
Starting point is 00:35:24 So I'm going to go. Ryan would be the one to show up to get you out of jail. Ryan, two in the morning I'm calling. I think he has snoring through it. Exactly. Maybe Ryan with Matt's checkbook. Because Matt's generous. I just don't know that he would show up at the jail at 2 in the morning to get him. He had to get him at the right time.
Starting point is 00:35:45 Yeah. He would. He would definitely pay the money. He's very generous guy, but I don't know if he'd show up. So I'm going Ryan again. It's another one of the dad instinct in Ryan, I think, would kick in. I'm going you. I'm hoping you're bailing me out.
Starting point is 00:35:57 I've actually had to do that for a friend before. So there you go. So you understand maybe it gets away from you on a party night and you got to go find your friend. who on KSR would die first in a scary movie. Now we know Ryan's trying to feel out the situation. Yeah. He may go into the room full of chainsaws. I'm going Shannon.
Starting point is 00:36:21 I think Shannon would walk towards the danger. You think Shannon's just like, I'm better than the danger. Yeah. You know, he's just so arrogant about it that he would go and be the first one to die. It's part the arrogance and part like just the interest in what's going on. Like I said, we're at this haunted bar and the touring group walks by our table. and he's like, I got to see what's going on behind this door they're going through. So he just hops up and went.
Starting point is 00:36:41 I think it's a combination of him thinking he could fight the guy with the chainsaw or whatever's going on. And he would just want to know what's going on with the danger. I'm surprised he didn't pass when he had to stay in that doll room, if you remember the Airbnb. It's true. For that one. I'm going to Shannon on that one. This is a really fun game, by the way. We should have been doing this hours ago.
Starting point is 00:36:59 Who on KSR is most likely to order the most expensive thing on the menu? And I'll start and say Mario because he has the menu upside down. And he doesn't know what he's picking. So cats. So you tell me, who's ordering the lobster and the steak? I'm going to have to include myself. I'm kind of... It's you.
Starting point is 00:37:18 I like a good fine wine and a good steak. It's probably going to be me on that one. Okay. I mean, my first thought went to Matt, just because he's got, again, the capital, too. Ryan might indulge if he's not paying for the dinner, right? Yeah, I like good restaurants. and I've been to restaurants where I've paid way too much money because they allegedly have some kind of Michelin Star
Starting point is 00:37:41 and things like that. You're foodie, so I mean, I could definitely see that. I've had some expensive, very expensive dinners for myself. So I'll go me there. All right, you're on the side of the road. Who on KSR is most likely to get out and change a flat tire? We're all together. Yeah, we're in the car for the road trip here.
Starting point is 00:38:00 I've unfortunately had to change three flat tires, so I've had the experience, didn't enjoy those. I'm not going to say myself, though. I think Ryan would just hop right out. Yeah. I think it's the dad. It's the dad. Now, I'd get out and help him.
Starting point is 00:38:11 I think a lot of people would get out and help him, but I think he would be the first to pop the trunk and get out the spare. Who on KSR is most likely to join the military or the police force? Now, we just did the show at the state police. I think we're going to do one soon with the Lexington police that we had such a good time. But didn't Ryan think he was going to have a career in law enforcement? Didn't he say that he wanted to possibly do this? I don't want to make this the Ryan game, but Matt, no.
Starting point is 00:38:39 Matt's not joined in the military. I can look in the mirror and say that I'm not built for it. I don't think I don't think I could do that. Shannon. Shannon is a rock star. Yeah. I think he'd get a call and he'd be like, ah, help yourself. You'll be all right.
Starting point is 00:38:53 Are you dead? No, okay, you'll be fine. Which, would you pick, what do you think about me joining the police? Well, I'm down to you and Ryan. I'm going to lean Ryan because he was going to go into law enforcement, but I could see you wearing the badge. I don't think I'm cut out for the military, but I think I could do the police. Like, I think the barrier of the entry is not as high as the basic boot camp that you would have to put me through for military.
Starting point is 00:39:16 Although, you've got to stay at the state police capital and go through a type of camp like that. I could see you protecting and serving us. Yes. It's just the children when I have to get involved there would be a sticky situation. A couple more. Who would be most likely to be abducted by an alien? Oh, definitely me. because you're going towards it.
Starting point is 00:39:36 Well, the other ones don't believe in it. Actually, no, I'm going to pick Matt because he doesn't believe. He won't see it coming. I will be prepared. I will already be in my alien bunker with all my canned goods ready to live for three years. Matt will just shrug it off like it's a neighbor with a drone. And next thing, you know, he will be sucked up into space and he'll be gone. And his brain needs to be studied, right?
Starting point is 00:39:55 Exactly. Well, Ryan's brain needs to be studied too. So I think the aliens would give Ryan back quickly. We don't need this. guy anymore. He's causing us too much trouble. I think I'm going Matt too. We'll just do a couple more. Who in KSR is most likely to star in their own reality TV show? I'm hosting as as I was elected in high school, but who would star in their own? I'm going mad again. He did that Bachelor episode with Hey Kentucky. So he's got experience. He almost did 90 day fiance.
Starting point is 00:40:26 Almost a 90 day fiancee. Now I'm eventually going to win Survivor. I'm serious about it. People laugh. I'm going to win Survivor. You all just wait. I just got to get in shape. I got to learn how to make fire and then I'm going to start applying. I am going to win Survivor, but I'm going to say Matt is the most likely to start. Yeah, I'm going to go Matt too. He's got a couple different dimensions
Starting point is 00:40:46 you can go to OVW, KSR. He's got a lot going on. It's a very boring reality show if you're looking at my life. Most of us, or he's the only fully single one, so most shows these days are love is blind or love as an island or love on the spectrum or love
Starting point is 00:41:02 this, love that. He's got a lot more options than the rest of us. Two more. Who on KSR is most likely to be like Rick Petino and get a championship of the Kentucky Wildcats logo after they win a title. Petino famously getting the Louisville Cardinal on his back after their, I think, title in 2013, if that exists. But who on KSR would be most likely to get their own tattoo? Well, I think it's down to me or you because the other guys all took vacation during a potential national championship trip. So it shows how they feel about Kentucky winning the title. So if they can't even work on the day, you could potentially win the title, can't even show up for their 10 to 12 job. They're definitely not getting a tattoo. So it's eliminate
Starting point is 00:41:42 all of them. It's me or you. So you're a tattoo guy? I mean, I'm wanting a tattoo. I feel like I could make this happen. But if UK wins the title, I'm not getting the logo. I got to get something an ode to the broadcast. So like Tom Leach on my my ribs or something like that. Oh, this is so happening. Well, I'm picking you and I'm saving this podcast for when we win the title next year. And I have to get a Tom Leach fed tattoo. To the tattoo parlor for a Tom Leach tattoo. And then our final one, we know that Drew is the last one in bed after a night out. But who is the first?
Starting point is 00:42:11 Who on KSR is most likely to go to bed first? Until the Milwaukee trip, I would have said Matt. He likes to get in bed early and kind of get ready for the show the next day. He's not really a night out when we're out on the town. But in Milwaukee, I've never seen a human sleep as much as Ryan Lemon. I don't know if he wasn't feeling well. Ryan slept 22 and a half of. 24 hours each day there. And yes, I know we're on the radio for two hours. Ryan was the
Starting point is 00:42:36 sleep and a sleeper I've ever seen sleep in Milwaukee. So I'm going Ryan. He would go home to go to go to bed. Okay, you know that one better than me. I never get to go out with the guys on these trips. So I'm going to trust your judgment. I'm not going to say Mario either because he was going out back to the bars at 4 a.m. I'm trying to keep up with Mario these days. I always thought I was the guy that was out on night. Mario is the one to watch now. That was a fun game. Well, there you go. Yeah, KSR's most likely. Yeah, let's take a break and then give somebody some Tyler Childers tickets. And delete that part about the Tom Leach tattoo.
Starting point is 00:43:04 No, you were getting a Tom Leach. Are you getting like his signature or like a maybe cartoon Tom Leach? Yeah, I don't know. Maybe a microphone with his logo. A caricature would be better than like a real photo. But I think the signature would be good. You know, I shared a photo of a UK fan that got Matt Jones's signature tattooed on his body. Matt didn't seem to like that idea.
Starting point is 00:43:24 Well, you're getting the Leach tattoo. We'll be right back. One last segment of Drew Palooza. I'm getting sad. It's almost over. This is KSR. Last night. blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending,
Starting point is 00:43:36 opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo. Every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines. We go straight to the source, the athletes themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear. The laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments that never make the highlight real. From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down, give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants answered. SportsSlice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them.
Starting point is 00:44:12 Listen to SportsSlice on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more, follow Timbo Sliced Life 12 in the TikTok podcast network on TikTok. What's up guys? This is Clivert Taylor the 4th. And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff. and internet famous referee. We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me, he goes, hey, ref, my mom
Starting point is 00:44:37 wants you to wave at her. What? Time out. Quarterback on office blue 42. Hey, rep, my mama want you to wave at her. What? Where's she at? Hey, Miss Parker.
Starting point is 00:44:55 Listen to the Clippers show on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, actress, mother, lover, and a Gen X woman walking through life, one hot flash and hormonal crying jag at a time. You ladies know what I mean. I'll bet you a parameda apostle chin here you do. So let's talk about it. Join me on my new podcast. How hard can it be with Deanna Maria Riva, where I call on my Gen X squads from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate midlife's most fantastic BS.
Starting point is 00:45:22 All of a sudden, I'd had hanginess happening on my own. I was like, what the hell is that? I was married when I had her, so I didn't even consider how empty that Ness was going to be. Mood swings, night sweats, fupas, sex drive. Wait, what sex? Dating at 45. How high can it be getting naked at 50 with the new guy? That one's kind of hard.
Starting point is 00:45:45 Well, that's lighting. They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to try. So let's get blunt with laughs, tears, or tears of laughter, and dive into it, unfiltered and unbothered and ask, how hard can it be? I cannot believe I'm about to say this out loud in public. Listen to How Hard Can It Be with Diana Maria Riva as part of My Cultura Podcast Network available on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds.
Starting point is 00:46:15 Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate. the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the
Starting point is 00:46:39 lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reed. He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nash would get that thing. That man, hell get to fly. He running up the court, licking his fingers, why he got the bar like, I think. You go through a training camp with that Isaiah, you figure it out real quick.
Starting point is 00:47:04 Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball. So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome back. One final segment of Drew Palooza. It's been a fun week. Thank you to everyone who's listened. People have sent me nice messages. Anyone that sent me hate, I like you to bring it on.
Starting point is 00:47:25 But it's been a fun week driving the show for five days. And Billy, thank you. It's been a lot of fun, especially that last game. We should have played more of that. I wish we had more time. Yeah, well, we'll have to do it next time we take over, but seriously, Drew, you've done a great job. So maybe it'll be an annual thing. I heart was not happy.
Starting point is 00:47:42 Everybody left at the same time, so I doubt it. When one door opens, another one, no, that doesn't apply here. A few things I want to touch from Twitter. Aaron Jackson says there's a new Mountain Dew Mango Rush coming out. What does that mean? Mango Rush. That means we're going to have a traumatic event on the news in the next couple days. Looks like there's a Little Caesars logo on it.
Starting point is 00:48:04 I love Little Caesars. I hope Little Caesar's going to be okay. Mango Mountain Dew. Maybe Shannon can tell us more when he gets back. Our friend Brooke, who's a long time listener to the show, she tweeted in that Chalk, who we talked about in the first hour. She went to his 85th birthday party. She said she's never been more hungover. Corey's on a photo.
Starting point is 00:48:23 Yeah, old chalk eye. I learned a lot on this show, Drew. You've been very informative. Well, before we do our drawing, I want to give a shout out to the, you know, best intern of all time and maybe the longest running intern of all time. It's a sad day at Kentucky SportsRadio.com. Brian the intern wrote his last post. It's up this morning.
Starting point is 00:48:43 Last one. Last one. He's stepping away from the intern game. BTI has been writing on KSR since December of 2007. He's had the 10 a.m. 10 a.m. post right after the morning show. I mean, my man's been writing through coaching changes. Actually, BTI is the one that even got me.
Starting point is 00:49:02 a job at KSR. You know, Matt will take credit for it. And of course, Matt was the one that asked me to start writing for KSR, but BTI found me on the internet with link to my stuff way back on the day on BTI's clicks to pick, I think he called him, or picks to click, picks to click was what it was. But a good 18-year run for BTI. I know KSR listeners, I've enjoyed reading him forever, but he just wrote his last post to go check that out. And BTI, whatever internship you find next, I hope it goes well, and we will certainly miss you around those parts. Wow, salute to BTI, one of the OGs of the KSR world. That's a long time to be an intern, though.
Starting point is 00:49:37 It is. We couldn't get the guy in position. Well, hey, I didn't have any control over it. But B, he was great at what he was. Yeah. He's in the right role. Just play your role. I mean, you're getting guys for Mark Pope's system.
Starting point is 00:49:51 You just want somebody that knows their role. Yeah. All right, Billy, let's get a winner. I'm going to take my headset off because I'm going to put these in a hat. So I'm going to hand you the hat. All right. We're going to do the. So I've written down.
Starting point is 00:50:01 Everyone that called in has two chances. Because I feel like calling in, you should have a better chance. And then three were randomly picked from Twitter, had a lot of Twitter submissions. I'm going to shuffle it up. All right. You might not be able to read my handwriting. But like I said, if you called, you've got multiple shots. If you were just a Twitter, you have one.
Starting point is 00:50:19 In the Master's Hat? Who's going to win tickets to see Tyler Childers part of Lexington's 250th birthday celebration? And our winner is Jason. Jason called in. I don't remember exactly his submission, but I'm glad I went to a caller. We like our Twitter folks, but the people that called in and gave it to it gave them a little priority. Jason, I have your email because Rick did a killer job over there. I will get in touch with you and send you those.
Starting point is 00:50:44 Jason, you're going to see Tyler Childers. Wow. I think he was the last one to call in as well. It was a fun game. I'm glad it worked out. It kind of made it up on the fly. Not kind of. I definitely did.
Starting point is 00:50:54 And it worked out. Jason's going to see Tyler Childers. I won't be there, but that's going to be a fun show over at Cogarfield. Yeah, we got to see Tyler at Country Boy in a very intimate setting. So that was a lot of fun. And they continue their series at Kroger Field, who they have last year. Stapleton. Yeah, all the alcohol sales.
Starting point is 00:51:12 And they did a little test run there. A little test run, yeah. This is wrapping up, Billy. I'm kind of sad. Wow. Do we have one shining moment queued up? Well, I mean, could you give us some script read from Count Paris? Do you want to fit that in?
Starting point is 00:51:25 Maybe next week with Ryan. I got my costume fitting is in like 20 minutes. Yeah. Yeah, I got to go get my costume. I might tweet a picture of my costume. Starting point is 00:51:54 The mayor? How could I forget the mayor? We've had all kinds. Ty Bryant, Tiani Key, Jaden Quaintance, the baby crying. the Jaden Quentin's interview. It's been a great week. It's been jam-packed. I worried I overdid it. It's been kind of hectic, but there's been a lot of news. No, no. Right on target, Drew.
