Now, here's Matt Jones.
All right, welcome back. Hour number two, Ryan Drew and Shannon, Kentucky Sports Radio,
our Clark's Pubbishop phone number is open, 859-280287.
The Aviation Glass Tech Machines, My Cell Phone, and Cell Phone.
We've got some good text message.
We'll get to it.
But listen, I've waited all week to talk to Drew about White Lotus.
So this is your heads up.
This is your warning.
This segment, we're going to talk about White Lotus.
It ended over a week ago.
Week ago yesterday.
You've had a long time to watch it.
If you haven't watched it, I'm sorry.
But I've waited all week to talk about it.
So this is your spoiler alert.
It's coming.
We're going to talk about White Lotus.
Billy's going to join us because Billy also has, Drew.
He said he has White Lotus thoughts.
Okay.
Good to have you back on your, Billy.
Yeah.
Great to be here, guys.
Good to see you, Ryan.
Good to see you, Billy, and your hair.
Thank you.
Looks a little better than, like, when we left.
It's not so much Billy bangs.
You got it comb over to the side a little bit.
Yeah, secret ingredient is moose today.
Moose today.
Ryan, so we're trying new things.
We're evolving.
So two weeks from now, it'll look even better.
I heard Shannon give you a hard time this morning about it.
Just the pre-show.
Still fighting over the hair.
Hard not for Shannon to do that, but I'm looking forward to playing pickle with them if we ever get this.
Let's go.
Yeah, you can be our fourth.
There we go.
There's our team.
Is it me and Ryan versus the pre-show?
Is that how we're doing this?
Let's go, Shannon.
Let's do it.
Okay.
I'm with you, man.
See, I think doubles will be much better because you don't have to move as much.
Oh, I'm not doing singles.
Singles, I'm telling you.
I can walk for three days.
Come on.
Yeah.
I do my neighborhood walk and that's the extent of, even last night, Abby was like, you know, at one point in your life, you know, you sprint.
And you don't know.
That's the last time you'll ever sprint.
You think you'll ever run again?
No, I'm never running again.
No, never.
No.
Not somebody's chasing you with a gun or a knife.
Even then.
Shoot me.
I'm not running.
I'm not running.
I'm too old to run.
All right, White Lotus.
Third season is in Thailand.
A lot going on.
Let's start with the non-dramatic finishes and get to the dramatic finish.
You okay with that?
So let's start with the three high school friends.
I mean, you knew that was coming.
I mean, you knew they were going to fight and dislike each other.
But I just knew it.
They were going to end up back all lovey-dovey as friends again.
What were your thoughts about the three high school friends?
I wish there were more to that storyline because there's a lot of them.
They kept setting it up and building it.
But I guess was the message just that with your friends in life, you fight and you have your moments.
To the end of the day, you kiss and say I love you and that's about friendship.
Kind of felt like a little deep meeting to their storyline when I was wanting a little more chaos.
But I guess that was my big takeaway is that you got your lifelong friends and it's a bumpy road.
But in the end, you just hug and you love each other.
Yeah, I mean, if the whole show is supposed to be a social experiment, that just seemed like a waste of time, honestly.
They all just made up at the end. Nothing really happened. They talked behind their backs to each other a couple times. I don't know. The celebrity needed to have close friends. Is that what I'm supposed to learn here, Ryan? I thought that was, that was a disappointing part of it was. Yeah, I agree with you. You kind of could predict how that was going to play out. You thought maybe they might do something just crazy at the end. They ended up all kissing and hugging and going back off being friends again.
There was so much to tie up in that one episode.
You knew that some of the conclusions were going to be kind of flat and just rushed.
That was one of them.
I wanted a lot more.
And they were just like, I love you, I love you, I love you.
And then they closed the book on that.
All right.
Let's go to the Duke family.
The ratlifts?
The ratlifts.
I love the ratlifts.
They need a spinoff show.
You know, the dad finds out while they're in Thailand that his empire has collapsed.
He's probably going to jail when he gets back to the United States.
And then he has these vision.
of murder, suicide, poisoning his family, and then at the end, they're on the boat.
They all get their cell phone.
They look.
That's when they realize their life has changed forever.
How do you think that one played out?
If he had really killed his family the way it looked like he was going to, that would
have been one of the darkest scenes in TV history.
I mean, I was kind of anxious watching, like, they're not really going to kill off a whole
family with a toast like this, are they?
Because that would have been insane to do.
just the thought of him even
I don't even
even though he was in that dark place
murdering your kids and your wife
with a with a poisoned cocktail
that's crazy
even though it would have been so dark and heavy
part of me wishes he had gone through with it
just for the sake of the show
but that's a wild thing to consider
and how the hell do they not clean out
the blender for Lockie the next day
how does Dad not clean it out before he goes to bed
knowing he's put poison in it
and how does Locky wake up and see that filthy
blender's like yeah I'll make a protein shake
in this. So my two takeaways were, holy cow, that was pretty intense for the few minutes of that
toast. And then wash out the blender. Yeah, a used blender, please. I mean, everybody's going to
clean that before they end up making a drink. But, you know, I just, it felt unresolved. It felt like
the dad got off easy, didn't it? Like, it just kind of cut to, hey, you know, them looking at their
phones and things are going to change. I mean, there was this whole buildup for this guy to be in
trouble with his family. And I didn't get any of that payoff. So, uh, was glad the youngest,
didn't die. Did you think he was dead when he drank the milk shake? Oh yeah. That was going to piss
me off, no doubt, if he died. But the way that they did it where one died and the other came
alive, like that was odd as well. And we kind of, to get a little deep on him, we saw Saxon
kind of turn around from the bad guy to like a sympathetic figure. You know, he, he sucked
for the first few episodes. You're like, this is the worst guy on the planet. And then he kind of gets
teary-eyed when he saw the girl run off to Wal Goggins. And then on the, he's, and then on
the boat he's like a different person.
He went from the least likable to maybe
the most likable. Likeable guy.
Yeah. I still love the mom though.
She's the bit. I have not stopped saying Piper No.
There's not a day that has gone by in the last three weeks.
I've not said Piper No in some form of my life.
They'll have a season four, probably with different characters.
HBO, give us a Ratliff show.
Give us another Ratliff. Just give us the Ratliff family somewhere.
Let's go to Belinda and Greg.
Belinda ends up being a very rich lady.
But then she kind of does to the masseuse on the island what Jennifer Coolidge did to her in the first episode.
Promises her to go into business together, change a new life, then gets a lot of money.
Like, peace out.
I'm out.
Leave you there.
What do you think about that?
So another one that felt kind of flat after all the buildup.
I guess you just saw her turn around that money can change anyone.
Maybe there's a little bit of, that's Tanya's way of taking care of her from the grave.
but that was another one.
I wish there had been a lot more to it.
I don't know what you could do.
He wasn't going to kill her or anything, I don't think.
But the sun just shows up out of nowhere to negotiate,
and that was just kind of the ending.
That was another one.
They had so much going on.
It's almost like we didn't need some of these story lines.
Yeah.
Yeah, failure to wrap it up once again.
It falls flat.
I didn't even see Gary again after he had paid the money, right?
It's right.
It just kind of fades away.
And he's a huge character that's been in multiple seasons.
He's the only one.
It's been in all three seasons.
He's the only one.
And he just paces her off and that's the end of the storyline.
Like, I hope he comes back because that feels unfinished as well.
I wonder if, uh, well, what's her name, the character?
Whatever her name is.
Belinda?
Yes.
Oh, you're okay.
I wonder if there's always a couple holdovers for the next season.
I wonder if we'll get the wealthy version of her next time.
She's been on two of the three.
Yeah.
There's always a few.
She seems like one that might be one of the holdovers.
All right.
Let's get to Walt Goggins and Chelsea.
This is the big climax.
the big ending where he shoots the man, he thinks he killed his dad, only to find out, as I predicted, he was really his dad.
You said it on like episode one.
I remember I was going to give you your flowers in this conversation.
You already said it.
I'm going to pat my own self on the back.
I knew that was going to end up being his dad.
And then as the gunfire erupts, Chelsea gets hit.
He's carrying Chelsea across the bridge.
and gate cock,
gaittoe, gait talk, gaycock, the guy, the security guard.
I don't think that's it, but yeah.
Will, something like that.
What kind of sure are you guys watching?
I mean, I haven't seen any of this and just listening in.
I don't think I don't think I'm going to go back and watch this now.
Well, he, as I predicted also, I said he's going to end up killing somebody and being a hero
because they showed him taking shooting lessons and the one guy said, hey man, you got a killer instinct.
how do you think how that the big dramatic finish how did it play out for you so i guess that was the body we saw in the first scene was them floating yeah i liked the twist even though you predicted it right away that that was his dad this shootout was a little over the top suddenly walgoggins he just turns in a navy seal shooting guys between the eyes from long range it was it was a little much for me i wish they had kind of done that same ending but without the full-on shootout on the property and killing his girlfriend but that being his dad was a good twist
Yeah.
Yeah, that security guard was such a wimp.
I knew there was going to be something involving him in the final murder.
But I felt like I was watching Star Wars a little bit when the guy died and the woman's like, he's your father.
He's your father.
It's like the Asian Star Wars.
It was.
They snuck in in White Lotus.
I was like Empire Strikes Back.
But I kind of, I like Chelsea.
I came around on her.
She was probably one of my favorite characters.
I agree.
I think she was my favorite character on the whole show.
See her die kind of stunk.
but the Walter Gaggin's dad's storyline of him pushing him over and then finally breaking it.
I don't know.
And nobody acted like there was a mass shooting on the property either.
Like everybody just got on the boat and didn't talk about it.
Like there was just this chaos.
That was a big shootout.
Yeah.
That's what I mean.
It's a little much.
I wish he had just like killed him when he was in the house, kind of a private moment
and then learned after the fact.
Yeah.
Not a full-on action scene at the end of this show that hadn't had much action.
Now the one thing I was, I think we really got left hanging on too with the three Russian guys.
You know, they kind of discovered there, did it.
But then they just let it go.
Like, okay, you know, they robbed the jewelry store and they, you know, were shooting guns.
But it's okay.
Yeah, the security guard decided not to do anything about that.
Yeah.
So I don't know, a few things, elements that felt unfinished.
But overall, what did you think, Ryan?
When you give it a grade?
I'll give it a, I'll give it a B.
The other ones, the other two I thought were definitely.
A's, this one's a B, maybe even a B minus. What about you guys?
I give it a C. I enjoyed it and I'm ready for season four, but it might even be a D if not for
Parker Posey as the Ratliff Mom and Walton Goggins. They were both just so good. Those two
need Emmys. They'll win Emmys. They really made the season for me. Yeah, I'm around the same.
I'm around C plus or a C. It's a passing grade, but I'm not going to watch it again or
think about it until the next season. So Mike White, you got some room to
to make up for. The rumor is a ski resort at the next one. They keep doing beaches. He even said,
I'm tired of beaches. We're going somewhere else. The rumor is a ski resort. Do you guys watch
the little interviews they do after the episodes? I'll watch every one of those. I saw most
of them. Yeah, those are good. All right, so whether you liked it or not, there's your White
Lotus update on Gadega Sports Radio. Before we move on from HBO, are you up on righteous gemstones?
I watched it last night. I'm still one behind, but my goodness, it is. I'm one that can like, I like some
over the top comedies that might be a little raunchy and vulgar.
This is just complete chaos this season.
I'm enjoying it, but they are doing it all.
We've seen way too much of Walt Goggins from the waist down.
We don't need to see any more of that.
It's funny, but holy cow, they're over the top this year.
So we'll do our righteous Jimstone update.
I think it's like three more episodes, right?
Yeah, and The Last of Us started last night.
I watched that if you enjoy The Last of Us.
I don't know about that one.
That's one Shannon would like.
It's kind of their version of Walking Dead.
Oh, okay.
Maybe I'll have to watch it so I can feel like I'm part of the group.
Shannon turned his radio off with all the people who hadn't seen the finale yet for that segment.
We're not even on the air anymore.
Well, I wanted to do a white lotus segment, so there it is.
All right, well, take our break.
Come back, 859-2-2-287.
We've got a couple lines over if you want to get on board.
We'll take your calls.

stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, A, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue with 42.
Hey, Ray, my mama want you to weigh better.
What?
Hey, Miss Parker.

Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, actress, mother, lover,
and a Gen X woman walking through life,
one hot flash and hormonal crying jag at a time.
You ladies know what I mean.
I'll bet you a paramed apocal chin here you do.
So let's talk about it.
Join me on my new podcast, How Hard Can It Be with the Adamani Arriva,
where I call on my Gen X squads from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate Midlife's most fantastic BS.
All of a sudden, I'd had hanginess happening on my own.
I was like, what the hell is that?
I was married when I had her, so I didn't even consider how empty that nest was going to be.
Mood swings, night sweats, fupas, sex drive.
Wait, what sex?
Dating at 45.
How high can it be?
I'm getting naked at 50 with the new guy.
That one's kind of hard, you know?
Well, that's lighting.
They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to try.
So let's get blunt with laughs, tears, or tears of laughter,
and dive into it, unfiltered and unbothered and ask,
how hard can it be?
I cannot believe I'm about to say this out loud in public.
Listen to How Hard Can It Be with Diana Maria Riva

Little hooty in the blowfish.
Ryan Lim and Drew Franklin, Shannon the dude.
Welcome back, Kentucky Sports Radio, 859-280-2-287.
That's our Clark's Pump and Shop phone number if you want to call and get on board.
So we got a phone line, you're just about full.
So, Shan, let's get a couple.
Who we got?
All right, so we got Carter, and Carter is the fan who was doing Ells down at the Masters.
Oh, no way.
No way.
How do we know this is the guy?
Well, he claims to be.
Go ahead, Carter.
Go ahead, Carter.
Hey, guys, how's it going.
So was that you in the video of Aurora Walker?
by and you giving the hells down?
Yes, sir, that was me.
My buddy had an extra ticket for Sunday, and I invited me to come on down.
So I had to make sure I was wearing my UK polo, my keen trades hat, and just happened to be
the right place, right time when Rory was walking out of Butler Cabin.
So I thought it'd be a good opportunity to trigger some delusional card fans, and it looks like
it worked on the Twitter comment.
Dude, there's been some great double barrel L's down.
That ranks up there as one of the best of all time.
Yeah, it was a lot of fun.
It was a great day.
Saw a lot of cats fans, even got a go-cats from one of the green jackets walking around.
Tried to catch Fleener on the course.
Wasn't able to find him.
But, yeah, kind of like Drew said, it is fun to be at home on Sunday and kind of get all the action.
but nothing really beats being around like 16 green where we were sitting and watching the school boards update
and like Roy's big shot into 15 was right about the time that Rose tied it up.
So there's just a lot of tension in the air, a lot of fun, and it's really nice just for nobody to be on their phones.
And you just, you're all in the moment.
So it's a good time.
Now, how did you get that spot?
I mean, you got, you're on the front of the shoot when he walks up there.
Did you have to sprint and knock people over to get that spot?
No, everybody was just in the wrong spot.
I saw all the security guards kind of gathering over there,
so I walked over and started talking to him,
and I was like, is this the spot to be?
And they were like, yep, just sit right here and wait.
And got to talking to some of the people around there.
And like two of the security guards were from the Lexington area.
One guy was from Hazard.
So Kentucky was representing all over the place.
It's a cool experience.
Once again, this show never ceases to amaze me.
We put that out there.
and then the guy that actually did it calls in.
Carter calls in the guy that did the double-bow barrel,
Iles down.
Beautiful.
Carter, did you survive there without giving all of your money to the gift shop?
Oh, man.
I spent way too much on polos and quarters dips
and a couple too many pimento cheese sandwiches.
Yeah, we've got enough gas money to make it back home,
but we'll see what happens for the rest of the week.
Well, Carter, you become a hero in Big Blue Nation.
Well done.
Well played, and we look forward to meeting you someday down the road,
Right?
Yes, sir.
You guys have a good one.
Right.
I assume he's probably driving back now.
He was in the car.
Maybe driving back now.
Beautiful site, though.
You know, has there been a bigger platform for an L's down?
There's been a lot of people were probably tuned in
because that was right after Rory putted out to win it.
After the playoff hole.
It's millions of eyeballs there.
I think that might be the biggest stage for a double L's down that we've seen.
What are some of the best ones?
Will Levis in the end zone at doing the double ails down?
at Papa John's.
Yeah, the year
Shea went off, had the big game.
I feel like the whole team was doing it a lot.
I think you're right about that.
There's been a lot of good football ones,
especially when they go into
Louisville Stadium.
I love all of them equally, really,
but I think that might have been the most eyeballs on it.
All right, 859-2-8-7.
Who's next, Shannon?
Wes.
Wes, go ahead, Wes.
Hey, guys.
Great recruiting weekend for basketball.
all, hopefully we can lock up Wilkerson for the next few days.
I think we've got a pretty good squad going into next year with one glaring omission.
I still think we've got to have a backup point guard that can guard the man in front of him
and initiate the offense.
If Jalen was to go down with any kind of injury with the roster we have now, we're dead as far
as point guard goes.
We saw the Travis Perry, Colin Chandler, extended minutes movie last season.
season, it gets 20% on rotten tomatoes.
I know people aren't going to like that comment, but it is what it is.
What do you guys think?
Do you think the staff's looking for a backup point?
Are we just going to roll with what we've got, assuming we get Wilkinson?
Appreciate it, Wes.
I mean, it's a fair question and a fair point.
If you've got Lowe, Chandler, Perry, Jasper can play it.
I mean, if you had to, O.A. could probably play some backup point if you needed.
What are your thoughts about the position right now?
I agree with the caller.
It is questionable behind Lowe as a true point guard.
I mean, even Jaspers off the ball.
Colin Chandler's off the ball.
You got Perry on the roster who played a lot of minutes by necessity last year,
but they're already at 12 roster spots,
and I think they'll prioritize shooting with Wilkerson.
I don't know if Wilkerson could give you many minutes there,
but he's right.
You've got to keep low healthy,
and he's going to have to play close to 30 minutes a game.
Who's next, Chan?
Let's get one more phone call up.
Who we got?
Let's go to Chris.
Chris, go ahead, Chris.
Hey, guys, one thing I was thinking about when you're talking about White Lotus is,
I didn't realize that maybe I'm late to the party.
also did Uncle Rico and Napoleon Dynamite.
So I just couldn't look at the guy the same way,
and I'm expecting him to throw a football over a mountain the whole time,
and there's no mountains to Thailand.
So that's where I was kind of screwed up.
And then also, did you see that product placement that they did with coffee mate?
I don't think I caught that.
Didn't catch it.
Yeah, so it's a pinocalada flavor that you can put in your coffee.
So I think that didn't work out too well either.
just my thoughts.
I appreciate it, Chris.
Yeah, we talked about him being in the other movie of the first season.
I think you or Matt recognized it.
Isn't that Uncle Fester, whatever his name is from...
Uncle Rico.
Uncle Fester Fester.
One more product placement.
This isn't a spoiler for the people that had turned off the White Lowe's discussion.
You can keep listening.
They gave us another Duke meme, even though the game had already happened in the finale.
He kind of does it again in his Duke shirt.
Yeah.
He wore the Duke shirt every episode, I think, there for a while.
And there was, when the sun shows up, he said I went to U of H.
At first I thought he meant Houston, which would have been perfect because he was talking,
you know, you got the Duke and the night before Houston had just beat Duke,
but I think he met University of Hawaii.
But that would be awesome if their character, not even knowing they had written that
into the script with the Final Four results if he had been a Houston grad.
A long time ago. Let's get another call. Who we got, Shannon?
Daniel.
Daniel. Go ahead, Daniel.
You can still say it. Go ahead.
You know, nobody ever said anything.
I thought it was kind of ironic.
The day after they sent Cooper flag home with that miraculous comeback,
it's almost like White Lotus knew the NCAA tournament results.
Next episode.
We'll still say it was Houston because he never clarified.
It's probably Hawaii.
But we'll call it Houston just to give Mike White a little credit for his writing there.
We do need to point out that tonight is the WNBA draft,
and Georgia Amor will be
top 10? Will she go higher? Probably top 10. She's kind of, the mocks have her kind of nine and 10.
Yeah. So she's right there on the fringe, but she's invited to the green room. She'll be a lottery pick, certainly, maybe top 10. And wherever she ends up, I am absolutely buying some George A more gear. After she was so fun on KSR, both appearances, she was so funny. In addition to being awesome at basketball, she's probably my favorite to come through the women's basketball program. And I've liked a lot. So I don't, I'll be honest, I don't, I don't, I'll be honest. I don't, I don't,
track the WMBA a lot. Can't tell you a lot about it. I'm like many people I've seen more of in the
last few years than I had before, but I will be keeping up with Georgia wherever she goes.
I'll be a big fan. Well, UK women's basketball program owes her a lot of gratitude because she
came with Kenny Brooks and kind of help reignite the program. And then, of course, she became a
superstar this season. If she, at that little floater had gone in against Kansas State and they
advanced, I mean, she would forever be remembered for that shot. But it is, I just wanted it
going four so bad.
Yeah, and I'll also be watching my first career WMBA draft tonight.
I do want to see what happens.
Like I said, I'm excited for her.
I haven't watched any in the past for being honest,
but that sport keeps getting bigger and bigger.
Now you put another cat in there.
It's been fun watching Ryan Howard in Atlanta from a distance.
Now wherever Georgia ends up,
Mario, he's nodded his head back here.
They've got her projected to L.A.
You're a Lakers guy.
She might be a spark.
There we go.
All right.
Home ownership takes work.
as you know, Shannon. Shannon just got a new home.
Yeah.

Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio
presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.
You know, when Shannon and I were holding hands
walking down the beach in the sunlight in Florida, people kept staring at us, and I wondered
why they were staring at it. I'm really because of me because I had on that Florida,
UK, Hawaii, flowery shirt. It's a good shirt. Shannon was shirtless. And sunburnt.
But he had on these shady rays sunglasses. Ah, that's what it was. Everybody's like, where do you
find those awesome sunglasses? That's what it was. Shady rays, stop overpaying for sunglasses.

We got to talk about this. What's going on down at the, our friends in Knoxville.
Tennessee quarterback, I'm a Lievea.
I'm a leaving.
I'm a leaving.
I'm a Lieve.
I'm a Laiva.
I'm leaving.
So let me say if I know the story right, Drew.
He originally agreed to an NIL-D.
deal of allegedly $2 million a year for four years, $8 million, allegedly.
After spring practice, he decides he's going to go in and negotiate he wants more money.
It's not enough.
$4 million a year.
Yeah.
Tennessee, to their credit, Josh Heiple says, bye, we ain't giving you that.
What do you make of it?
One, it's hilarious as a Tennessee hater.
I was at the spring showcase in the press box
eating some nice donuts from UK.
Those were good donuts UK.
Thank you.
When the news dropped,
Nick Roush had an evil villain laugh
that you could hear throughout the stadium.
He thought it was so funny.
I can still hear it ringing in my ears
because it was funny.
It is the last day of spring practice in college football
and your quarterback that you've been counting on
to be the face and future of the program
for a couple of years now
just decides he wants to leave
after everything is pretty much set
and he's doing it for money.
and he really didn't even have that special of a year last year.
Right.
He had some laughable moments.
He looked good at times.
Look bad at times.
Yeah, but when it really mattered,
when the lights were the brightest,
he did not perform for a guy that's commanding as much money he is.
So I thought it was hilarious.
I love everything about it.
I love the position they're in.
But you're right about Hypo.
NIL is already a little out of control.
If you got a guy trying to renegotiate
during the last Saturday of
Springball when everything is set
I think it is
you do have to do what Heipel did and say
no I'm sorry we cannot
cave into this
you've made your agreement you've been through
practice you've played a season with us
your deal is your deal we are not
renegotiating right now
at this stage in the year so
I think Hypo made the right move even though
I love everything about it
Shannon
well
is any surprise that we guys
trying to negotiate more money.
But I agree with Drew.
It's wrong timing.
Like, you know, there's a time in place for everything.
And right after spring, you know, your spring football practice, that's the wrong time to do it.
I think it really makes a bad impression on your teammates.
You know, the guy's only here for money.
But it doesn't surprise me that it's happening.
And until they put guardrails on NIL, it's going to continue to happen.
Maybe not to this extreme.
But, you know, they've got to somehow.
pull this whole thing back in because it's completely out of control.
He's not even worth close to that.
No. Exactly.
No.
So here's a couple questions.
One, I hate the fact I got to support Tennessee,
but I fully support Josh Hype on Tennessee and this.
Because if they did this, if they backed down,
who's not to say the running back was going to do the same thing.
The wide receiver is next in line.
The starting middle lineback,
and they're all like, okay, yeah, we want to renegotiate all of our deals,
and we all want more money.
Is there anybody out there that would give this,
kid that much money.
The schools that can do it are slim to begin with.
There's only like maybe a dozen schools that have that kind of money to begin with.
Does anybody fork up and give it to him?
So what happens when nobody does?
Then what?
He just backed himself into a corner and he's going to end up having to go play somewhere else for
less money, maybe than what he originally had.
Somebody probably will.
Oregon's been mentioned. I think he has a brother at UCLA.
Somebody will do it.
But I think he heard his value even more by showing what kind of person.
he is like yeah he is in your locker room he's been there for two seasons goes through all of
spring and then he wants to shop around i think that that does even more damage to his value i would
love for him to end up nowhere that would be hilarious i can see somebody like colorado
yeah beyond making a move to get him as part of their big circus they got going on out there
but he ends up in a mid-major can you trust him though you know you agree to one number then
that's not good enough you know can you trust a guy like that i don't think you can well it could be like
Calzada, our quarterback, came from Incarnate Word.
Maybe this guy, Amaliva, has to play it someplace like that
and try to go make the next jump after that.
I hope he gets $200,000 somewhere at Inarnate Word.
Tennessee, they have a couple guys that Hypo was doing the coach speak.
You know, we'll just go to them.
Football has a portal about to reopen where guys can move around.
That's what Nico's doing.
Tennessee's probably going to go pluck somebody from...
It can't be in the SEC.
You can't transfer across the SEC.
but I would be watching for a quarterback somewhere.
If you see a quarterback randomly enter the portal after going through spring practice,
Tennessee will pay good money for someone right now.
859-2802-287.
Let's go back to our phone lines.
Who we got, Shannon.
Nikki.
Nikki.
Go ahead, Nikki.
Hey, Ryan, it's Mickey Hubanks.
I just went by and picked him up at the Y and he tells me that you all have been playing
pickleball and I'm so excited.
Yeah, Shannon has hand.
led me into the wild world of pickleball when we were on vacation.
You're welcome.
Oh, that is wonderful.
Well, I play every day, and I would love to have you guys come over to Crosswood Baptist Church.
I play over there at the Y, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 830 to 11, but I know you're on the show.
But anytime you want to play, I'd love to play with you guys.
It's a great exercise, and I'm so excited for you all.
and we just love listening to his show.
We really do.
We're ready for the next remote, though.
We're ready for another remote.
Looking forward to see you back out on our remotes again.
So tell the good doctor.
We said hello and we'll see you at the next remote.
I sure will.
Thank you so much.
All have a blessed day.
Thank you.
Yeah, we'll get back in after Matt gets back and they'll kind of fire some up some Friday
remote.
I haven't seen a schedule.
I don't know even when they were going to restart again.
I actually had to ask for it just last week and someone emailed it to me.
So give me a couple of minutes to track that down.
and I can actually tell you.
But on the pickleballing,
if we do a me and you versus the pre-show
and Mario's there filming it
or if Mario wants to hop in and play,
you think Matt will cave,
if the whole show,
but Matt is doing it,
or is he that firm and hating pickleball?
And I've told Matt this before.
He would probably like it
because he likes ping pong.
He likes tennis.
It kind of combines the two.
It's fast, you know, boom, boom, boom, boom.
And point.
I really think he would like it
if he ever broke down and decided to play.
He's being stubborn at this point, though.
I don't know if he'll cave.
Is it pickleball a pickleball?
I think he's ruined any chances of it for Matt, but I'm excited to get out there.
859-2-8-0-2-2.
By the way, that was our whiskey thief call today.
That was too good of a call not to give her that.
So we'll see her Miss Eubanks back at our next remote.
We've got to talk real quick before we get out of here about UK baseball.
They played Texas this past weekend.
Texas won the series two games to one.
But it's what happened Saturday night that I want to talk about.
it went 15 innings
and the winning score Shannon was scored
when Kentucky had a guy on first
they squared a bun to move him over to second
catcher jumps out from behind on plate
throws the first base
bad throw goes all the way down the right field line
and the winning run scored all the way from first base
on a throwing arrow off a sacrifice bun
that's good in its own
but in the sixth inning of that game
if you haven't seen the video
Nick Mingeone lost his
his marbles and got kicked out in the sixth inning and the game went 15.
So what's he do for the next nine innings for the next two hours back in the locker room?
Get a shower, watch the game on TV, you know.
Do some clean up, wash some jerseys, sweep the floor.
I mean, he had to sit back there in the locker room for like two hours waiting on this game to end that went 15 innings.
Yeah, I wasn't watching live.
But I guess it was a horrible call that led to the ejection.
I guess they were saying Kentucky batter leaned in when he didn't.
Yeah, yeah, right.
So, I mean, it was cool seeing passionate Mingeon.
He hadn't been ejected in a couple years, but I guess you just go back and enjoy that nice facility.
They have over Kentucky Proud Park.
I saw something he said maybe he cleaned out a locker, kind of maybe insinuating,
might have thrown a few things.
Yeah, he told Daniel Hager our baseball beat writer at KSR.
Shout out Daniel Hager.
Follow him on Twitter.
Nick Vigione revealed that he, in the post game, he cleaned out an entire locker.
I assume that means tossing some things around.
I'm surprised he cleaned out the entire locker room.
You're back there for two hours doing that.
Daniel Hager's one posted the video, I think I saw.
Yeah, it's great.
Minge gave him an earful, then went back for more.
Like, sprinted out that umpire, went around him because the ump turned his back,
did a full sprint to the umpire, circled around him just to get back into his face.
So that had to be a bad call if Mnjian was that fired up.
I think that's why Mngeon was so mad.
They turned his back on him and walked away while they were still having their conversation.
But yeah, 15 innings, and you're back there for two hours, I guess, listening to Darren Hedrick on the radio down there in the locker room.
By the way, their locker room is as good.
It's better than most minor league ballparks.
Oh, that place is crazy.
It's insane.
It's pretty new.
They have that like underground training facility?
It's like a whole field down there.
Underground hitting cages.
Yeah.
It's amazing.
It's better than most minor league ballparks.
There's no doubt.
I found the remote schedule.
Okay.
I don't want to say where it is because it says TBD,
so I don't get people excited that we have to change.
But there's not one until May 9th.
After the derby?
Yes.
Okay.
So May 9th be looking for us.
I won't give the location just in case.
We'll take our last break.
Come back our last segment.
Got a couple calls.
Guys online.
We'll get to Jerry and Bo from Rough River.
Well, that's got to be a good call.
We'll be right back.

This linebacker walks up to me, he goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue of 42.

Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, actress, mother, lover, and a Gen X woman walking through life one hot flash and hormonal crying jag at a time.
You ladies know what I mean.
I'll bet you a perimenopausal chin here you do.
So let's talk about it.
Join me on my new podcast.
How hard can it be with Deanna Maria Riva, where I call on my Gen X squads from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate midlife's most fantastic BS.
All of a sudden, I'd had hanginess happening on my own.
I was like, what the hell is that?
was married when I had her, so I didn't even consider how empty that Ness was going to be.
Mood swings, night sweats, fupas, sex drive. Wait, what sex? Dating at 45. How high can it be?
How can it be? Getting naked at 50 with the new guy. That one's kind of hard, no? Well, that's lighting.
They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to try. So let's get blunt with
laughs, tears, or tears of laughter, and dive into it, unfiltered and unbothered and ask,
how hard can it be? I cannot believe I'm about to say this out loud in public.

One of the greatest songs in the history of rock and roll.
Great song, Shannon, the dude.
I like it when you play it on double Q, your shift on double Q.
Every day.
I'll play it for you this afternoon.
Welcome back, Ryan Drew and Shannon.

859-2802-287.
That's the Clark's Publishaw phone number.
Who we got, Shannon?
Let's go to Dan.
Dan.
Dan, go ahead, Dan.
Hey, Dan.
How you feeling, Dan?
look right now I'm getting my
awesome
very good
prayer's up for you Dan
yep
yeah thank you
look
what I understand
all right Dan
good to hear from me
and keep fighting a good fight
down there brother
we're all praying for you
so thank you Dan
so like I asked you that earlier
Drew it's Calzada's job
and Cutter's number two
you think going into fall camp
yeah cutter's the best backup
Kentucky's had in a long time
and maybe he makes a huge jump in the fall
and takes it but it seems the way they're talking
and the reason they brought Calzada in is his seven years of experience,
and then Cutter will be next year.
Kowah has an eighth year that he could pull that off.
But, you know, if you're set in odds,
Calzada is the heavy favorite to be QB1,
but that's not a slight at Cutter.
He looked pretty good in what we've seen of him.
That's the best QB2 I can remember here,
and I think he'll be the guy next season.
I think there's a little more pressure on Kalsada
than there should be because Brock Vandigriff just didn't work for us last year.
who was hurt, kind of struggled.
Year before that, Devin Leary was kind of hurt, kind of struggled.
They need a good bounceback year from a transfer quarterback,
and Calzada seems to be the guy.
You mentioned Brock Vannegriff.
I immediately, I'm in a couple of Tennessee group texts,
unfortunately, I've mentioned that before.
I have way too many friends that wear the orange.
I got to break the IMA liva news to them.
They were all just enjoying their peaceful Saturday mornings with their coffee,
so I got to put that in a group chat,
and one of them even said,
do we need to call Brock Vandergriff?
So that's where they are right now.
Brock Vandergriff is happily retired and fishing and hunting somewhere in Georgia.
That's right.
Maybe Tennessee gives him a call.
But you're right about Calzada, and they're due to take a step forward to that position.
They are overdue.
Who's next, Shannon?
Keep them healthy.
Let's go to Jerry.
Jerry, go ahead, Jerry.
Anyway, right, you guys miss the sweetest thing about the Samanaleva thing,
is that busting the NIO rules and doing the tampering and used it to recruit,
That all started with Nico.
Don't you remember that summer
when Mark Stoops' head was exploding
because Mitch was making him follow the rules
and Tennessee was out there busting every N.I.
rule.
And then when the NCA finally gets around
and force the rules and they get caught,
they went down and got a Homer judge in East Tennessee
to throw out all the NITL rules
so they could keep them because the NCA was going to make him
ineligible.
You're right about that, Jerry.
That is why this is just so,
sweet to watch this happen to them
because they created this monster with him.
They deserve everything they're getting,
and they're ugly, and I hate them.
And, you know, this is just so funny.
And then, and the only thing that was better
was listened to them after the Ohio State game
to that Vassilio show and listened to whining cry,
because Ohio State spent $30 million on their roster.
Well, boo-hoo.
You went out and got all the rules thrown out.
You got one old billionaire.
Ohio State's got more money than God,
and Texas has 20-old billionaire.
while I went at Tennessee, you suck.
Jerry with another.
Is that a call of the day?
Have we done that yet?
Whiskey thief call the day right there.
That was good.
That was just letting him really cook.
He was cooking right there.
Like that.
He's not wrong.
They were bragging about getting him what they paid for.
They were just almost openly talking about how they cheated to get him
and paying him so much money.
Look what we did.
Look what happened.
Well, that backfired quickly.
Let's get another call, Shannon.
Who we got?
Let's go to Bo from Rough River.
Bo from Rough River.
This better be a good one.
Go ahead, Bo.
Yeah, just since Matt's out on his European tour,
it's a good time for you all to have your pickleball tournament.
KSR pickleball, announce it safe in three weeks.
When Matt comes back, he can deal with it.
Thank you.
Appreciate it, Bo.
Well, Billy's already come in talking a little smack once the pre-show versus KSR,
Billy and Shannon versus you and me, Drew.
I'm in.
Before we turn the cameras on, have the showcase event.
I would like to actually play once, maybe hold the paddle.
Is it a paddle?
or a racket? What am I working with? What's my equipment?
What's my equipment? Oversized ping pong paddle. I'd like to get a few reps in?
Yeah, and like a wiffle ball almost. That's kind of the best way I could describe a pickleball. Shannon,
Shannon puts all this spin on it. So he's hitting these underhand spinsters. I think,
oh, I got this. And then it hits on this rubber surface and just, you know, dies. Sometimes it spins,
takes off. Like, I can't hit that. Yeah. You can put a little English on it, Ryan.
He put a lot English on it. I was on the tennis team, my senior year. You want to know my
record? What was it? Oh and oh, because on the
day of the first match, I sprained my ankle playing
basketball on PE that day. So even though I was on the roster
and had the uniform, I absolutely shattered my ankle
the day of our first match. You never got a chance to play. I mean, I put in all the
work, put in all the work in the preseason, the offseason, and just
never got to play. Who knows, I could have gone on to Wimbledon. We got
time to squeeze on Robbie here real quick. Let's do it.
Robbie, you're the last call of the day. What do you got, Robbie?
Oh, yes, guys.
I was just wondering, with the Cady and Lewis be committing,
do we have anybody, as Pope looking at anybody,
for the backup point guard?
We need another point guard.
Appreciate that.
Yeah, we talked about that earlier, you know,
with the kid we got from Pitt,
it will be our main point guard,
but then you got Colin Chandler, Travis Perry,
and Jasper Johnson, and Oway.
I think the combination of those four guys,
somebody's going to have to end up playing backup point guard.
And Pope's probably had some names on a board he's called,
but right now they seem to be all in on Wilkerson,
and that makes 13 there.
I mean, they could add somebody in that spot,
because I agree.
They miss some ball handling with the Caden Lewis being out.
He was supposed to be the future after low.
So it's a weird spot,
but I think shooting's a little more important than a point guard
that'll play 10 to 12 minutes a game.
So we are back at KS Bar and Grill tomorrow, right?
That's right.
Then we'll be in studio on Wednesday,
and then back at KS Bar and Grill on Thursday and Friday
as one more week without Matt.
Matt will be back a week from today.
Yep.
Everybody come to the bar in the morning.
I'll see Ryan's new tan.
I may take my shirt off and show you my all-round tan.
Let's not.
They're like Walt Goggins has been doing.
I'd rather you not.
As I'm doing it for Connecticut Sports Radio.
We'll see you again tomorrow.
Goodbye.
Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
