Starting point is 00:03:10 All right, welcome back. Hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio, Ryan Drew and Shannon. Clark's Pubbyshop phone line is open. 859-280-2287. Had some good calls so far. Haven't awarded the Whiskey Thief call the day yet, though. It's coming.
Starting point is 00:03:22 It's coming. Maybe the one that called in about the UK baseball game, which is in Lexington. Everybody knows it's in Lexington. Everybody knows. We all know. So we have our watch party here tonight. Mo Diabate even knows, too.
Starting point is 00:03:33 Mohammed Diabate. There you go. And Yelovich. Yeah. Andreas Yelovich. There you go. Okay, we'll work on it. We also have another kind of watch party, so to speak,
Starting point is 00:03:45 want to tell you about. Tyler Childers is performing here Saturday night over at Kroger Field. So we can do your pre-game and over here. Come over here. You can post-game. But you can park here if you eat here. Not just our restaurant, but any of the restaurant. here. The parking lot is open as long as you
Starting point is 00:04:00 eat at one of the restaurants here. You've got to be paying customers. Paying customers. Support us or halapinos or tilted kilt. Any of our neighbors? Just someone on the block. Because people are asking me like where you park. Well, I'm sure they'll have paid parking there at the stadium, but you can park here. It's not that long a walk. It's a short walk to the stadium where you can take an Uber or something from here. Eat, come back, post-game after the concert and do everything you want to right here. I'll be pre-game in here for the concert. Weather's not looking great. We need
Starting point is 00:04:26 Mother Nature to help us out here. Tyler is even sick. He's canceled three straight shows on the rest of his tour, but hopefully everything gets lined up before Saturday. I'm looking forward to that. I didn't get to go when Stapleton did Kroger Field, so I've never seen a concert over there. I hope everything goes smoothly and we can have a Saturday.
Starting point is 00:04:43 They said it was awesome, though. The people that win said the Stapleton concert was awesome, so I'm sure it'll be a pack, it'll be a great show by Tyler Chilinelner. We all like what he's doing. 859-2-287. That's the phone number if you want to call and get on board. We mentioned the NBA playoffs to playing games tonight. One guy, I wish Mario was here.
Starting point is 00:05:02 He's right here. He's right here next to me. Okay, get him on with you because. Here. Let me get you some headphones. You're just used mine. Mario made the trip to Louisville. He got tired of taking pictures of us.
Starting point is 00:05:12 He wanted to go get pictures of Shannon. And Mitch McConnell, right? And Mitch McConnell on with Terry Miners today. What's up? Well, Mitch, you're here. Why don't you go and tell Mario what's ahead? Oh, Mark. How are you going to talk to you.
Starting point is 00:05:24 I'm going to laugh when he starts to. talking because that's what I'm going to think about when he starts talking. Oh, why do dogs don't like it when you're blowing their face? I like to take their head all the window. Okay, I want to make fun of Brani. He's your boy. Why do you know? Because he doesn't deserve to be in the NBA, and he got to start.
Starting point is 00:05:49 The last game of the year, he gets the start. If LeBron is not there, he never sees daylight in the NBA. right? I don't know if I 100% agree with you on that. Okay, let's hear your argument. Have you watched his G-League games? I have not. He's been playing well in the G-Leod games.
Starting point is 00:06:07 Oh, he has. He's getting better slowly, very slowly. Ryan, you got to give him a chance. He's the 55th pick, by the way, if you forgot. Well, is he an NBA player? Yes. He is an NBA player. That's a stretch.
Starting point is 00:06:25 You're talking about Mario's goat here. Put some respect on Brony. I know. Well, the reason I brought it up, because I know he's a brawny guy. Is he an NBA star? No. Is he an NBA starter? No.
Starting point is 00:06:35 Is he an NBA rotational player? No. He's an NBA, I would say, what's the word I'm looking for? Prospect. No. You should develop a little bit. No, not yet. I watched the, I believe it was the Lakers and the Pelicans.
Starting point is 00:06:53 And Pelicans had just, you know, five G-league guys out there. No offense to Antonio Rees or Keon Brooks. The Lakers were playing their main guys because it was, I guess, for seeding purposes they needed to win that game. Brony didn't get into like the last three minutes of the game. He shot three shots. Air ball. Hit a three-pointer.
Starting point is 00:07:11 Give him a break. Air ball. Give him a break, Ryan. Have you seen, you know, he had like 17 in an NBA game like the other night against the bucks? Took Yonis off the dribble. He did. Thank you, Drew.
Starting point is 00:07:24 I know you saw that highlight, Ryan. It was all over social media. So you're saying we just need to sit tight. He's getting better. He's getting better slowly but surely. True. I'm more worried that you're going to get Mario worked up before he goes with Senator McConnell here and make some TikToks with him.
Starting point is 00:07:39 Are you going to have Mitch McConnell like dance? What's the social media game you got for Mitch McConnell today? You always make us answer funny questions or Ryan and I did the thing where we couldn't hear each other and had to read each other's lips? We're going to be doing a part two of that. I'm waiting. I don't see Shannon often, so my game plans to get. him to do one as well.
Starting point is 00:07:58 But yeah, but I don't know. Mitch McConnell, I don't know. You should play some audio of Ryan doing his Mitch McConnell impersonation and ask Mitch, who is this person impersonating? Oh, that's a good idea. She didn't think he can figure it out. You think that would make him upset. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:08:13 I think he's definitely not. I'm sure he'd love it. I'm sure he'd love it. It's tried. No. What if he doesn't know, and then I have to tell him it's him. Even better. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:23 Who's this bubbling idiot? It's morons doing Terry Minor. Of course it's what he's doing. This sounds like an awesome game since I'll be in another city and won't have to deal with it. So I think you should give it a shot. I think you should ask me about Brani. He likes Brony, I bet. I'm sure he does, yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:38 All right, well, good luck with him, Mario. Thank you, man. All right. I lean a little more of your side there, Ryan. Yeah. It's more that LeBron hyped him up so much. Like, he tweeted he's better than half the guys in the league. LeBron went too far with a lot of the promotion, and now he, I mean,
Starting point is 00:08:53 Bronny's getting what, Bronn put him in that spot. We all knew it was coming. I hope Mario's right that Bronny's getting better. He's working on his game and maybe in a couple of years he can be a bench player, role player off the bench. I just don't see it right now. Unlikely. It certainly looked like Dad held his hand to get him to the week.
Starting point is 00:09:10 So the other story I wanted to ask you about was come from the Masters. I guess it came out, was it yesterday where Bryce and Deschambeau said that Rory didn't say one word to him during the entire round, not one word. What's your take on that? You're the golfer of the group. You're in the final round of the Masters You're trying to beat the guy beside you You're walking side by side a lot of times Down the fairway
Starting point is 00:09:32 Not one word spoken between those dudes the whole round I think it's a huge overreaction I see people saying it's PJ versus Liv I wouldn't really expect guys to talk If they're in the final round of the Masters going head to head And then Bryson by the turn he's completely out of it I mean you got one guy trying to win it And get over the hump he's 0 for 11
Starting point is 00:09:53 And trying to get the career grand slam we saw how much it means to Rory, I wouldn't expect them to talk. So I don't think it's a big deal at all. I think people are overreacting. If I were in Rory's shoes, I probably wouldn't talk to Bryson. It has nothing to with Bryson. I'm just focused and worried about myself. So that's how I read it.
Starting point is 00:10:08 The only talking I would be doing would be trash talking. Otherwise, I wouldn't be like, hey, how's your family? How are you doing? I'm trying to beat this person. And when, you know, you're competing for millions of dollars in a championship. I'm not going to be sitting there just exchanging pleasantries with the guy I'm trying to beat. You see, I was mentioning this on the pre-show, though, Ryan. You know, you see it all the time in baseball, more so, I think, than anything.
Starting point is 00:10:30 Guy gets on first base sits there and chats up the first baseman, you know, for the entire next-debat. I'm not really a fan of that even. I mean, I know what happens, but, Ryan, you're a baseball, you know, purist. Do you like, you know, opposing guys in baseball chatting each other up on first base? I tell you, who never talks is the pitcher. pitcher will never talk to opposing player. Ever. You just don't talk.
Starting point is 00:10:56 Because kind of similar with Rory and D. Schaumbo, you're competing against that guy, one-on-one. If you're a pitcher, I'm not talking to you before a game. I'm not never, I'm not. If Shannon and I played together, I wouldn't even talk to Shannon. I mean, he's a bellarmine. You wouldn't even talk to me during the pickleball game while I was kicking your butt. You wouldn't talk to me. Well, that's because I was trying to catch my breath.
Starting point is 00:11:15 And Bryson and Rory talked on the first tee. There's video of them like high-fiving and patting each other on the back. And then the round starts. What are they supposed to talk about? You're not going to say good shot. You're not going to ask for a read. What do you want to say? How's the family?
Starting point is 00:11:29 No, I'm playing golf. I'm trying to win the Masters. So I think it's a big overreaction. I lean with you. It is a big overreaction. They're competing at the greatest golf tournament in the world. A stressful golf tournament, too, in that moment. I mean, what are they supposed to say to each other?
Starting point is 00:11:44 I wonder if, like, do the caddies even talk to each other? The caddies probably talk to each other. And there's a little bit of caddies. He's like, you get the flag, I'll get the flag. You know, there's a little bit of catty speak. I wouldn't expect much, though. So what's D. Jimbo's, like, problem? Did he try to talk to Rory and Rory wouldn't talk back?
Starting point is 00:12:02 Because, I mean, that's a two-way street here. A reporter asked him afterwards, what did Rory say to you? And he said something like, he didn't say one word to me the whole round. But did he say anything to Rory, though, first? Well, I don't know. That's what I don't know. Yeah, it just seemed like Bryce was answering the question, and everybody ran with that, thinking there's,
Starting point is 00:12:20 be fair. Maybe there is a little bit because of live. But I just, I mean, you put me in their shoes. I don't want to talk to anybody. I'll talk to my caddy, but I'm focused. And Shannon said this, I'm pre-shod. I'm not taking your joke, but Rory was, I felt like he was eating the whole round. I don't think he could have talked to anybody. He had a mouthful of protein bars
Starting point is 00:12:37 the entire time. Well, Shannon's right. In baseball, you get the first base. They're talking a lot most of the time. The first baseman talks to everybody. Like in a basketball game, you see it when somebody's shooting a free throw, you'll see two guards behind, the, you know, Lamont Butler and DJ Wagner, they may say something to each other,
Starting point is 00:12:54 you know, kind of a little bit. I think you see it more in baseball just because the game's slower. You know, when Freddie Freeman left the Braves and he's on first base, now he's with the Dodgers and he's playing the Braves, he's on first base, he's going to be sitting there talking to Matt Olson or whoever it is. You know, I think that's where you see it probably the most in sports.
Starting point is 00:13:11 And in golf, the only time he talks on the T-Block, after you hit, you go your separate ways, especially Sunday. Seems like one of them was in the woods on about every hole or in the pond straw. I mean, maybe on the T, still, I don't know what you'd say. Like, you're up. Excuse me? Hit them straight.
Starting point is 00:13:28 It's not a great time to have a conversation. There were times where they were walking like maybe three feet apart from each other down the fairway. And it just seemed like you could tell they were like this laser focused. They're not going to be having any small talk. You know, what are you doing tomorrow? Yeah, did you get the Permanagh cheese yet? You know, what are you supposed to say? I think it's overblown completely.
Starting point is 00:13:47 Drew says overblown. Shane, what about you? Overblown. I am also a bomb. It was a big deal yesterday on social media people talking about and trying to make Rory be out to be the bad guy, really. Yep. He was just dialed in trying to win the Masters.
Starting point is 00:13:58 I did see a video clip that I found of Rory when he was like four years old on some show in Ireland. Talk about how he used to chip balls in his hallway into his mom's washer. Oh, yeah. There's a story. His dad can only afford like one range token, so he told him, it's like I don't get paid until next week, so this is your only bucket of balls.
Starting point is 00:14:18 so hit every ball like it's to win the Masters. So he didn't come from much and still made that climb. It's a good story. Well, like I said, that's why it was so emotional for him because it's not just a big deal for him, his family that gave every sacrifice to lot, everything, to help him get on this pass. So congratulations, Roy.
Starting point is 00:14:35 All right, 859-280-2287. We'll open up the phone lines again, get some people on board. 859-2-80. Katz, Ryan Drew and Shannon. This is Kentucky Sports Radio. Last night, a blown call changed the game. This morning, the Internet lost its mind.

Every episode, we're cutting through the noise. Breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines. We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear. Starting point is 00:15:32 and the TikTok podcast network on TikTok. What's up guys? This is Clivert Taylor the 4th. And on my podcast, The Cliverts show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff. Like being an internet famous referee. We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker- You know these kids.
Starting point is 00:15:46 This linebacker walks up to me. He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What? Time out. Quarterback on office blue with 42. Hey, ref, my mama want you to wave at her. What? Where's she at?
Starting point is 00:16:04 Hey, Miss Parker. Listen to the Clippers show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. If you're watching the latest season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, you already know, That's a lot to break down. Gorsha accusing Kelly of sleeping with a merry man. They holding Kay Michelle back from fighting Drew. Pinky has financial issues. I like the bougie style of Housewives show.
Starting point is 00:16:30 I think it looks like it's going to be interesting. On the podcast, Reality with the King, I, Carlos King, recap the biggest moments from your favorite reality shows, including the Real Housewives franchise, the drama, the alliances, and the team everybody's talking about. As an executive producer in reality television, I'm not just watching it. I understand the game. As somebody who creates shows, I'll even say this.
Starting point is 00:16:55 At the end of the day, when people are at home, they want entertainment. To hear this and more, listen to Reality with the King on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hey, it's Edwin Castro, also known as Castro 1021. And I'm Kunky, his best friend and business man. And we've got a new show called The 1021 podcast. I'm taking you behind the scenes on how I became one of Twitch's most popular streamers. We also love sports. And with the World Cup right around the corner, we'll be breaking down the biggest
Starting point is 00:17:30 storylines ahead of the big tournament here in the USA. Listen to the 1021 podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. All right, welcome back, Kentucky Sports Radio, Ryan Drew and Shannon. got an update on our Webster County base dealer Jackson Edens. He has started since an eighth grader. So he started for five years for Webster County, but still that's over 30 stolen bases a year.
Starting point is 00:17:59 It's the Travis Perry move. It is Travis Perry move. Travis Perry was scoring varsity points as a seventh grader. That's what's so amazing about him. 859-2802-287. Ryan Drew and Shannon. So who we got our first caller, Shannon? Johnny Versace.
Starting point is 00:18:12 Johnny Versace. Go ahead, Johnny Versace. Good to hear from you. Yeah, yeah. I hadn't called in a little while. I've been missing you guys. Is it too early to get excited about the TBT, and can we get to Marcus Cousins to play?
Starting point is 00:18:27 Well, it's funny you said that, because TVT announced today, their first two commitments for this season, Duran Lamb and D'Andre Liggins, two guys that we're very familiar with, and they're both scheduled to be on this show this week at some point, Drew. Yeah, D. Lamb, D. Liggins, they got Willie, too, so this was the second and third.
Starting point is 00:18:46 but I think everyone knows my opinions on Duran Lamb coming home. He is one of my goats of Kentucky basketball. I can't believe he's not in the Rafters, and I fully expect TBT will win the whole thing, and he'll be the MVP this summer. So yes, yes, Johnny, it's okay to go ahead and get excited about it. Yeah, I think we need Sestina back, too. He was pretty good.
Starting point is 00:19:07 He was the most guy of the player, yeah. And of course, Drew got, you know, his memories of the little game aren't quite as good as everybody else's, I've been training for the rematch. Yeah, I don't think, you know, if you didn't catch you about surprise, I don't think you'd be all right. He didn't look too tough to me.
Starting point is 00:19:27 But no, it was a lot of fun. We had a really good time there, and it was kind of, you know, just being at Freedom Hall was kind of interesting, too. So I'd rather see him interrupt, but, you know, it was a really good time. I'm kind of excited to get that started again. I agree.
Starting point is 00:19:46 was such a huge success last year it'll just get bigger and better this year around here anyway yeah and I mean obviously I love having Duran on the team but we haven't really had much of the Liggins reunion since he's been gone he was a big part of the
Starting point is 00:19:59 early Cal years maybe you can throw in a billy year if you want famous for the North Carolina game when Cal gave him the big smooch in the tournament so I can't really remember many Liggins' homecomings him doing anything with Lexington and as an alum so I'm excited to have him back to
Starting point is 00:20:15 Hope he still plays that defense. They'll need it in the TBT. There's usually not a lot of defense in the TBT. It's just firing it up. He's had a long pro career. I don't know where he is overseas now. We'll find out soon when we talk to him. But, I mean, he's been playing a lot of basketball,
Starting point is 00:20:30 so I expect he'll still be in good shape, even though he'll be one of the older guys on the roster. What else you got for us, Johnny? Well, you know, Pope just continues to really impress me and actually, you know, just surprise me with how well he's doing in the transfer portal, and it just seems like he does a really good job of roster building. Like, you know, he finds the need and he finds the fit, and, you know, I'm just excited about next year again. I think he's going to one year under his belt kind of get all that out of the
Starting point is 00:21:03 way and, you know, really focus on the product, and I think he's doing a great job, and I think we're going to do really, really well next year. And a SEC that's not going to be anywhere near as difficult. Appreciate it, Johnny. We're going to get these guys on, I think probably as they get announced on the TBT tournament again. And hopefully they'll have another pre-tournament party like we had here last summer, which ended up being great fun for all of us getting to catch up with all these old guys. Yeah, and I'll add it's a memorial this year, historic memorial, not Rupp.
Starting point is 00:21:33 Should make for an even better environment. I mean, Rupp was fun. That place is so big. You know, TBT is not going to fill that, but they might be a packed memorial over there. That would be a new twist to it this summer. You know, Coach Cow was actually going to be on our show this week also. he was going to actually drive over from Arkansas and come here to be on our show
Starting point is 00:21:52 and kind of talk to some of these TBT guys as they get announced but he got lost apparently somewhere down in Evansville because once he gets to Kentucky he just used to take an early exits I thought you were going to say he couldn't I thought you're going to say he couldn't take time out of his busy schedule that's another good one I might use that one also I knew your wheels were turning though when you started talking I was worried who's next Shannon
Starting point is 00:22:16 T.O. T.O. Go ahead, T.O. Hey, God bless you, boys, today, Easter week. Let's have us a good week. I just wanted to say that we've reached to the point in the year where it's getting bare, boys. We've got TBTs and ice. That's a little added nugget.
Starting point is 00:22:37 We got baseball, and we got the best, newest thing coming out, the WMBA, boys. I'm going to be starting my WMBA fantasy league. I'm going to be posting that up for the KSR, hardcores to get into. I know a lot of the players' names, actually, and have watched pretty much the entire season last season. Well, we appreciate it.
Starting point is 00:23:04 We need a WMBA update. You'll have to call in and help us out now. Oh, I'll be letting you know soon, Ryan. I'll be letting you know real soon. What Kentucky players are in the WMBA outside of Ryan Howard? Ooh, is it just Ryan? I can't. Why don't you ask, T.O. He's the expert.
Starting point is 00:23:19 That's how I'm asking him. I'm asking. Who else is in there? That's definitely the only one that's playing. Yeah. They've had several that have played over the years. Adia Mathis, I remember Victoria Dunlap. The Vincent's Girls who play, but I don't know if there's anybody outside of Ryan Howard right now.
Starting point is 00:23:34 Yeah, Ron would be the only one. Now, Georgia. Those are two pretty big names, though. And he's hot, too. She plays pretty tough. Yeah. All right, Tio, appreciate it. Thanks for the phone call.
Starting point is 00:23:43 859-2-802-287. We've got another line open if you want to call and get on board. We've probably talked more WMBA on this show today than we ever have in 15 years. But it's worth it. She was on the show twice this season with us. Yeah, and sixth overall, that's a big deal. Someone on KS. Board, on our show thread, shout out KS Board. They said, have you all mentioned WMBA yet?
Starting point is 00:24:05 It's like, we led with it. That was headline news today. So happy to give it to Georgia the attention she deserves today. 859-2-80-2-287 who's next shannon Ryan Ryan how you doing Ryan uh how are you real you did a great job buddy you did a great job and I just want to say that when you had that Corey Price cow on there I really enjoyed
Starting point is 00:24:29 you know talking all about Kentucky the history of Kentucky basketball I know it all but I actually learned a few things but we're going to be loaded next year especially our two guys come back many two guys has come back. But the question I got, do you think any of these guys, like Amari or any of these other guys, so get a tryout in
Starting point is 00:24:49 the NBA? And I love it when you do Mitch McConnell, and you've got to get Shannon to do I can't think of his name. Oh, my gosh, I'll forget when I get on the radio. He talks on all the sports talks.
Starting point is 00:25:05 Mike DeCorses. Shannon does a great Mike DeCorsi. Mike DeCorsi. Mike DeCorsi. Mike DeCorsi. Yeah. Yeah, I can't remember. I'll forget. But thanks for check my call. I appreciate it, Ryan. I mean, I think he's got right to be excited about the basketball team with the roster
Starting point is 00:25:20 they're putting together. And like I said earlier, if they add Lamar Wilkerson, that's kind of the missing piece that could really make this team a contender. Yeah, and he asks about guys getting tryouts. I mean, there will be some guys getting tryouts. I don't know about him by getting drafted. I might see some players in the G-League giving it a shot, but Kobe Bray is the only one with a shot.
Starting point is 00:25:36 Here's name called at the draft, I think, at this stage. Yeah. Amari. Lamont and even Jackson, they'll get invited to camp, probably playing the Summer League, try to earn a spot, but more than likely they're going to have to go to the G League or overseas to play. Yeah, Summer League, I'd expect to see them. I just, I don't know how strong their prospects are right now because they're not really being
Starting point is 00:25:55 mentioned anywhere except Kobe. You know, guys will even rank the top 100, and I think maybe Amari was in their 70s at one point, but nothing near getting drafted. I think if Jackson Robinson had stayed healthy, he had a pretty good chance to get drafted in the second round. Where do you think he'll end up? Yeah, he'll have to try out and hope and make it that route. I mean, maybe you show up at the combine and you impress everybody with your shooting.
Starting point is 00:26:21 I don't even know his wrist situation. But I think Kobe's the only shot. Jackson was considering the draft last year before he came to Kentucky, so you think he might have slipped a little bit. Yeah, he went through the process. Remember we were waiting on him to make a decision. Came down on the final hour. Go stay in the NBA draft or come to Kentucky. Yeah, we might have to do that with Oway again.
Starting point is 00:26:40 this year. I assume he'll enter the draft. He should. Yeah, everyone should when they're, at least in the conversation, just for the experience and to have someone outside of your own coaching staff tell you what you need to work on for the future. You can get great feedback and just going through it with the meetings. It'll be good for him, so I expect him to do that. I didn't get a chance to ask you this. What do you think about Kirk Creasa picking Cincinnati?
Starting point is 00:27:01 Well, we knew quite a while ago he was leaving. I think we had been saying that since a little bit after Christmas that he'd be going. I think Matt had mentioned St. John's had been in the conversation. I didn't really have a feel for where he'd go, but I'll admit Cincinnati was pretty surprising. Not going far away, just crossing the river. Going back to the Big 12th. If you're going to do that, why wouldn't you just stay here? I don't think you had a spot here.
Starting point is 00:27:24 I think he had to go somewhere. So he knew they were going to come and get a point guard. They were probably going to play over him. Well, when he left, Caden Lewis was still on the team, so there definitely wasn't room. I mean, if Caden Lewis had announced that in March and not last week, who knows how that plays out? but that kind of threw everything off. We got a sponsor for this segment. Who was our sponsor of this past segment?
Starting point is 00:27:43 We just did that beautiful segment we do for KSR. That was a great segment. Let's talk about Bluegrass Roofing. Looking for a roofing company you can trust. Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. All right, welcome back. Ryan Drew and Shannon here, Kentucky Sports Radio.

That's KSR when you check out at cornbreadhip.com. This is The Good Life with cornbread hip. I guess we should, in Matt's honor, recognize the Reds have won five of their last six. Have they? They have.
Starting point is 00:29:27 They've won five of their last six. They just swept the series with Pittsburgh, I believe it was. So the Reds are hot. Your Braves are still not. No, the Braves are lost five at our last six. We should celebrate that. Come on. They beat the Blue Jays last night.
Starting point is 00:29:40 Whoa. They're five and 11. Slow down. Five and 11. That's all right. We're slow starters. We'll get there. We're growers.
Starting point is 00:29:48 Slow down. Yeah. Do you see the big brave story last night? What was it? The reporter was getting digits in the crowd. A big reaction to that. A lot of people didn't like it. Some people thought it was funny.
Starting point is 00:30:00 It was weird to see. I mean, for those that didn't watch it, what do you call them? Not a soutline guy, but what job is that? He's with two women up in a VIP area, and even the broadcast team's like, are you going to get their number? And then he just starts getting digits right there during their interview.
Starting point is 00:30:17 That should be a lesson for all single guys out there. Take a microphone and an earpiece and go, they're telling me back in the studio to get your number. I got to get your number. Yeah, he totally blamed it on the play-by-play guy and the color guy. They're telling me I need to get your number. They didn't lead him into it. But she didn't hesitate, though.
Starting point is 00:30:34 She didn't. A lot of female reporters didn't like that. I saw online, they thought if the rolls were reversed, would it get the same reaction? Which I understand. It was weird. I mean, I guess it was funny, and, you know, it was two willing adults, they could do whatever they want, but it was weird. You just see, I suppose
Starting point is 00:30:48 to be talking about the game, and he hands her his phone, like, can I get your number? And she did it. Yeah, she gave her to him. Go Braves, I guess. Anything but keep our mind off the baseball. 859-2-287. Who we got, Shannon? Ohio Cat. Ohio Cat. Go ahead, Ohio Cat. Okay, my question is,
Starting point is 00:31:06 meaningless, but it's for Shannon. So you record these little tags when we come back from breaks. And like the one coming back from this break this last time said, and now here's Matt Jones. How hard is it to do one that's like now welcome back to KSR for the generic times when Matt Jones is not home? Oh, it's not hard to do it at all. But, you know, we're lazy.
Starting point is 00:31:31 I need those for the next Drew Palooza. I got tired of saying I'm not Matt Jones. It's how I came back every break. I mean, I guess I could just say it live. That's true. Welcome back. Here's Ryan Lemon. And, you know, it's not like you do any work in that place.
Starting point is 00:31:44 You're only there for 15 hours a day. I mean, yeah, doing 16 shows me. I mean, my guy calls me out. Yeah, I do seven shows a day, and he wants to complain because we don't have one that says, here's Ryan Lemon. Well, it gets us a chance to say where Matt is at. Yeah. You know, Matt's not here.
Starting point is 00:31:58 He's still in Amsterdam. He'll be back on Monday. Well, in my Drew Palooza contract, I'm demanding my own. I got tired of that last week. You can do your own voice up. Summers. That's what you can do for you. I don't know how to touch the equipment, though.
Starting point is 00:32:09 I don't know how to do that, so you'll have to do it for me. But that's a year away. Free one, the next time you all go off to your banana boat vacation. Next month. All right, who's next, Shannon? Bill. Bill, go ahead, Bill. I can't believe the man called Shannon lazy just now.
Starting point is 00:32:23 How bad he? I know. Not called a day. Not ever going to call again. If he does, he's not going to get through again. Two questions for you, fellas. One is, I read this before the master started, and it said, if you were to start on the putting green, as far away from the hole, but on the green, could you make it to, would you be in the final match on Sunday with whoever the leader is with, you know, the field that just played?
Starting point is 00:32:51 The second question is, at what point does it become unhealthy for me to hate watch Arkansas? Because to my count, they don't have anybody in the portal, and I caught myself laughing pretty hard last night. And I probably shouldn't be like that, but I just can't help it. At what point do I need to seek help? Appreciate it. You don't need to. I mean, he's our former coach. He left us.
Starting point is 00:33:10 He chose to leave us. You can also, you can kind of laugh when they kind of fail, although I was pulling, I found myself pulling for those kids a couple times this season. I don't want Calipari to have great. I sure don't want to have more success than Mark Pope. I felt bad for DJ missing the last shot, even though that was a terrible shot.
Starting point is 00:33:28 It was a terrible shot. And Cal put him a horrible spot. When he just puts his face in his hands and collapses, And that was hard to watch because I do like DJ, but that's on his coach. But I think there's a lot of people that are hate watching Arkansas. I might be one of them. I might occasionally search Caliperi on Twitter just to see what people were saying online. So I think it's okay.
Starting point is 00:33:49 Yoga Girl does the exact same thing you just said. She hate watches Arkansas and then immediately goes online, see what they're saying about him. I've been searching recently just because the caller's right. They really have been silent in the portal. I mean, they have some good freshmen, and I guess DJ's going to be. going to come back. He's not announced yet, right? Yeah, and I have Carter Knox, Billy Richmond, I guess. So he has pieces, but as far as any portal news, it's been silent, and they were thinking they were in on Pierre. The guy Kentucky was recruiting, and he committed to SMU last night,
Starting point is 00:34:17 so I guess that was a loss for Arkansas. And Wilkerson's from Arkansas. They really don't like that he's considering Kentucky. Lamar Wilkerson. Oh, I didn't realize he was from Arkansas. Oh, it's eating him up pretty bad that he could be a cat, especially probably going to Fayetteville next year. I've seen some people already saying, oh, no, he's going to come give us 30 in his home state. So there's a bit of panic around there, even though Cal has a couple big freshman commitments,
Starting point is 00:34:39 and I assume several guys returning. Nobody's said they're leaving outside of Big Z. He's actually the only one I think is left, right? Well, I do left, Boogie Flan left, and Big Z left, but you still have Carter, Knox, Billy Richmond, and DJ. Yeah. Haven't really said much, so I assume they're back. Who's next, Shannon? Marcus.
Starting point is 00:34:55 Marcus. Marcus. Go ahead, Marcus. Hey, Phil, it's a first time long time. Thanks for calling. Great call. Yeah. Wow. That's our whiskey thief call today. Thanks for your contribution.
Starting point is 00:35:09 He just wanted to call and say, that's my first time to call. Whiskey thief call the day right there. Is he still on? No. All right. Let's go to another one then. Who we got? That's great.
Starting point is 00:35:17 Devin. Devin. Go ahead, Devin. Good difference. How's it going, boys? How are you, Devin? I'm doing pretty good. Real quickly.
Starting point is 00:35:26 Two quick things and maybe a self-promotion here. If Wilkerson doesn't choose UK, who do you think they'd go for? And Drew last week was talking about chalk eyes at the Chevy Chase Inn. And, Ryan, you were gone. And that sounded like someone that you would know. So I wondered if you had any stories. And if I can say something real quick, I promise. I got a feature film.
Starting point is 00:35:48 It took me four years to finish. I filmed it in Kentucky. Flew people in from Los Angeles and New York. It's very low budget. But it's on Amazon now. It's called The Repair Man. And it's on YouTube. as well. So if people can support me, I'd appreciate it. And just looking forward to
Starting point is 00:36:03 what you all think. Well, you didn't ask me to be an actor in it. I mean, I feel disrespected. Shannon's highly sought out. Have you seen my IMDB page? Good grief. And they must not need it a policeman. That's right. It's kind of your character. You always plays. That's a police guy. Drew, you know, Drew's in plays now. Yeah, more live theater than movies. It's just I think I can show more of my full bag there doing live but I understand if you want to do movies it's lesser acting but what about this play you're in I mean you just like I don't know you about to come watch you like how do I see it like give me all the details I never thought you'd ask well first of all my first rehearsal is tomorrow
Starting point is 00:36:47 night first dress rehearsal have you do you have a script already I've not looked at the script but you have a script I have a script in my inbox they did a a like a tape read like you know we just read and it was on zoom and I couldn't be a part of it because it was during the show but I got a replay so yesterday while I was working on KSR I watched the replay of the zoom of the table read so I'm kind of getting a feel for what's going on okay but I've not read my script and it's do you have a lot of lines it doesn't look like many I'm a I'm a middle-the-road character I think it's going to be a quick play I don't know exactly how many I have but I don't think it's going to be
Starting point is 00:37:27 a big workload. At least I hope it's not a big work. Is this like how many showings of it? Or I guess it's one showing. One performance. Okay. Yeah, unless we decide to start touring. I think we're going to get one under our belt before we go on the road and go to Broadway. But it is next Friday. It's a lot of
Starting point is 00:37:43 pressure. You only get one shot at it too. That is next. It's next Friday the 25th. The first rehearsal is tonight? Well, they did like said, they did a read-through. So they've already been technically one rehearsal. There's one tomorrow night. And there's one next week and then I guess it's on Friday I didn't realize that's 10 days away what is your
Starting point is 00:38:02 at the lexon children's theater what's your character I am uh Paris in Romeo and Juliet uh I asked chat GPT who that is just to you know I really want to get into the character so I thought the robots would know it as much as anyone uh he seems to have a big crush on Juliet and people want me to marry Juliet but then we got this Romeo guy on the way I don't want to spoil the rest you know everybody needs to go see it but it's to raise money for the accident children's theater i went down there on friday and did my costume fitting and when i was there there was a bunch of kids running around at summer camp or spring camp um learning uh how to train your dragon they were they're all in costume so it kind of made me feel good knowing that
Starting point is 00:38:42 whatever silliness i'm getting into can help their programs continue because the kids were very excited to be there i i won't say sentimental is the word but i felt like i have a purpose in this role after seeing how it actually works well you know you if you need advice you do have a on this show that can kind of help you. Well, Shannon, is that what you talking about? Have you done live theater, Shannon? No, you're just an extra. No, I'm not done live theater.
Starting point is 00:39:07 It's in the movie, Ron. There's no editing. We don't go to the, it doesn't come out a year later. You are on stage with all the bright lights, all the eyeballs looking at you, and that is just your one moment. And Ryan, if you're hinting that, you know, OVW is somehow a play, I feel disrespected about that, too. It's a live drama played out, scripted, just like Drew's play.
Starting point is 00:39:33 We'll get you in the ring and see about that. We'll get Shira to give you one of those big slams. So rehearsals tonight? Tomorrow night. Tomorrow night. So we need a update on Thursday. Yeah, I'll let you know Thursday how it went. If I even show up Thursday, I might realize that this is my real calling in life and just leave you all behind
Starting point is 00:39:54 and travel with the Lexington Children's Theater. We'll be back in studio tomorrow, but then we'll be here at KS Bar for Thursday and Friday. For those who want to come out and have lunch with us, we've got to get a nice crowd here today for lunch. I've got some people telling me they're traveling from pretty far away Friday to be here. Nice. Got to make sure we don't change that.
Starting point is 00:40:10 I've got to be at the bar. All right, we'll take our final break. Come back our final segment. Ryan, Drew and Shannon here on Kentucky Sports Radio. Last night, a blown call changed the game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what.
Starting point is 00:40:24 happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo. Portia accusing Kelly of sleeping with a married man. They holding Kay Michelle back from fighting Drew. Pinky has financial issues. I like the bougie style of Housewives show. I think it looks like it's going to be interesting.

Back to the Masters just a minute.
Starting point is 00:44:56 I firmly believe that Rory was not talking because he was trying to win a golf tournament that was so important to him. But what are your thoughts on the fact that Rory and Tiger were both very outspoken against live golf? And Bryson is part of that. And it could be they're not the best buddies. What are your thoughts on that? Appreciate the phone call, Drew. That's something you kind of brought up a little bit, right? We've talked about this.
Starting point is 00:45:26 Yeah, I agree with that. I doubt that was on Rory's mind on Sunday. Like you said, he's trying to win a tournament. But Rory was a big live-hater when it was announced. He was the most outspoken. So I would say there's no love loss between him and Bryson. And, you know, the live, as expected. I mean, John Romm went live.
Starting point is 00:45:42 He was like number one in the world. That dude has become a meme. It's kind of sad how some of the big names in the PGA went over there and got the money. And like we all predicted, just disappeared. I mean, John Rom seems to hate his life when he's golfing and the live with the music playing. They're wearing shorts. I only know John Rom for throwing clubs these days when he was at the top of the sport. Now, I didn't see Thursday or Friday's coverage, but I heard the network did not show hardly any live guys.
Starting point is 00:46:09 Zero Bryson. It was a big deal. They got a lot of complaints. Bryson was in contention and having a great round, and they did not show him at all. And then that night, the master's Twitter account even tweeted a video. It was like every one of Bryson's shots. but at that point we're all like we know why you're doing this you're uh you got a lot of backlash for not showing him at all so i do think they tried to hide him a little bit but he played so well you
Starting point is 00:46:30 can't hide him shannon who's next let's go to misty misty go ahead misty hey this is really for shannon but you all are welcome to on sunday which is easter 420 it's also my dog's birthday and he'll be a year old and i can miss out on his friend's dog's birthday so i wanted to know shannon wanted to come over and celebrate my dog pepper's birthday. Depends on if you have any of that homemade salsa. If you have some of that, then maybe I'll consider it. I got homemade salsa and I got all kinds of stuff. Okay.
Starting point is 00:47:04 All right. Remind me again this weekend and maybe I'll consider it. Thank you. Thank you, Mr. Shannon is open for all dog birthday parts. Did you hear this conversation on the pre-show? Yes, I did. Yeah, luckily I was away and I had a good excuse not to go to the dog's birthday
Starting point is 00:47:21 party. But yeah, I guess this is a trend. People having birthday parties for their dog, and I don't want to be a part of it. I just don't. So don't invite me to your dog birthday party unless you're Misty, and you have really good homemade salsa, then I'll consider it. You can bring your dog to my house to celebrate its birthday. I got your dog several moles
Starting point is 00:47:37 for its birthday. And they can just stay my... Still haven't caught the mole. Oh, man, I had a false alarm yesterday. I went for a little neighborhood walk, and when I came back, I could see my trap had been I guess it moved, you know, like something was in there, pulled it out, no mole yet but there's a fresh brand new tunnel that just popped up so that's where i'm going to get
Starting point is 00:47:56 them soon as i get home i'm hoping i have one uh we do want to give a shout out to wayne hayes from elizabethton you might say why are you shouting out wayne hayes from elizabethton my man listened to the show and he's a hundred and four years old oh wow just turned a hundred and four money so we all i think her name was mary from estal county we thought she was our oldest listener i think wade Wayne Hayes may have taken the trophy 104 years old yesterday. Man, I hope to even get close to that. Three-fourths of that I'll be happy with.
Starting point is 00:48:28 104. Good for you. Thanks for listening. Happy birthday, Wayne. Happy birthday to Wayne. So if you're listening, shout out. Who's next, Shannon? That's it. That's it. I'll tell you who's next is Shady Ray's. Listen, Ryan, stop over paying for sunglasses and check out Shady Ray. They're an independent American-owned company that started right here in Kentucky.
