Starting point is 00:01:25 Quarterback on office blue 42. Hey, ref, my mama want you to wave at her. What? Where's she at? Hey, Miss Parker. Listen to the Cliverts show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. The story I've told myself can then shape my behavior,

Starting point is 00:03:06 Stockton Mortgage, NMLS 8259 Equal Housing Lender, NMLS Consumer Access.org. Welcome to Hour 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones. All right, welcome back. Hour number two, Ryan Drew and Shannon. Matt will be back on Monday, so this is the last show without him before he returns from his fellowship over in Amsterdam. I'm kind of anxious to hear all the stories.
Starting point is 00:03:29 And we've seen some pictures he's posted. Kind of went to a wild street party, it looked like the other night. He was at the Darts? What is it? I was trying to be darts. I don't know what they call it. That looked like a lot of fun. Yeah, wasn't a street party.
Starting point is 00:03:40 It was like an arena for darts. He got a media credential. I wonder if he named dropped ESPN and got back there to cover darts. Place was going crazy. Of all the things that he's going back, tell us, I'm most interested in the Darts event. That's something I would have done if I were over there. I mean, they were going crazy like you do at a soccer event overseas in Europe.
Starting point is 00:03:57 So, thanks kind of hear all these stories. and talk about, I don't know what he can and can't talk about the fellowship part, but even hearing the stories about that, it'll be cool. Yeah, and they're over there making sure he's hiding all the secrets like the Denver airport and things like that. Okay, before we go back to the phone lines, I've got a couple questions for you.
Starting point is 00:04:12 For me? You and Shannon. Okay. Google apparently released, like, their most asked question in every state, most searched athlete in every state, things like that. So what do you think was the most asked question? ask most Googled question in the state of Kentucky for last year for 2024 the most googled question.
Starting point is 00:04:37 It's a tough one. You got any guesses, Shannon? I'm sure it has something to do with Kentucky basketball. So is Travis Perry going to play tonight? Where does Mark Pope live? That's a good one. That is a good one. I'm trying to think it's something Pope related.
Starting point is 00:04:56 It's not UK related. It's not UK. It's not Arkansas related. It's not Arkansas related. Is it sports related? It is not sports related. Wow. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:05:04 There was a big event in 2024 involving a couple politicians. Oh. Well, you mean the election? Yeah, the election. The most Google question. Who won the election? Where is my voting booth? Where is my voting place?
Starting point is 00:05:21 Okay. Makes sense. Way off with the Mark Hope. No, but I'm 100% with you guys. I didn't think it'd be anything like that. But apparently that was the most. googled question in Kentucky. Where is my voting location?
Starting point is 00:05:31 Who do you think was the most searched Kentucky athlete last year in 2024? Like they're at Kentucky the school or they're from Kentucky? We're pretty broad. Could be either or. I'm going to say Dan Issel because that one guy tried to kill him off. Oh, that's a good call, man. I forgot. Just in peace, Dan.
Starting point is 00:05:57 I don't know. Trent Noah. Sandy, you got a guess? I'm going to go Travis Perry. Again, doubling down. Okay, I'll give you some hints. There was a big, huge worldwide sporting event. Oh, yeah, okay.
Starting point is 00:06:11 Sidney McLaughlin. Yes, Sydney McLaughlin. Yeah. Was the most Googled athlete. The Connor from Kentucky because she played one year here. I like Shannon's, is Travis Perry going to play? That had to have been top five. Yeah, that's the question we get all the time.
Starting point is 00:06:24 Now, here's another one that blew me away. the most Googled sporting event in the state of Kentucky in 2024. Chicken fighting. That's a good guess. That's a real good guess. Most Googled sporting event? Uh-huh. And I'm sure it's way off like it's not Kentucky basketball.
Starting point is 00:06:43 It's not Kentucky football. The derby? No, that's what I would have thought. That was my guess. Kentucky baseball. No? Was there like a Little League World Series or something? No, it wasn't just in the state of Kentucky.
Starting point is 00:06:55 This is the most good. Googled question. It was like almost every state. The Olympics? It wasn't the Olympics either. I think this is going to surprise you too. It's surprised the heck out of me. It's why I wanted to bring it up. Lay it on us. The Logan Paul Mike Tyson fight.
Starting point is 00:07:10 Oh, really? Yes. That's embarrassing. And if you remember, probably a lot of it was because they had technical malfunctions. Like it stopped broadcasting a lot of markets. Yeah, it was lagging. And I've been a lot of people were probably getting online about that trying to complain about it. But yeah, that was like in almost every state. That was
Starting point is 00:07:26 most asked, most Googled sporting event. What's Ryan's most recent or most Googled question? Do we really want to know that? Yeah, read your Google history. Let's do it. Okay, here's my last five. Well, I can do all of them. The last one I just Googled Cincinnati Reds, because I wanted to see if they won last night.
Starting point is 00:07:47 Okay. And then there's mycarepack.com. That's how I funnel money to my kid. It's in jail. Okay. recent alien sightings because we're going to have an alien topic today segment today
Starting point is 00:08:00 KHSAA scoreboard I don't know why that is so high on Mike I haven't looked at that in a while UK baseball Mavericks UK men's basketball NBA playoffs John Scott UK so my search history is not too bad a lot of show prep in there yeah that's probably what it's from I actually had to do some show prep yeah I'm looking at mine it's mostly Transfer Portal people
Starting point is 00:08:18 Fernando's food truck in Lexton I had to check out their menu yesterday Okay. PGA 2K-25 standard edition. You know, a wild day for me yesterday. It must have been. I was hoping I'd have something a little more entertaining, but I guess I'm a pretty boring Googler.
Starting point is 00:08:33 Shannon, what about you? So is it just Google? Because I don't know how to pull up just Google. I'll just tell you, I'll just share my history of websites I've been on. I've checked my email today. I got body.com, my beachbody stuff I do. College football makes rule change about the injury, the fake injury. I googled out this morning
Starting point is 00:08:52 Kentucky Wildcat Basketball I guess I was looking at the roster because we were talking about on the pre-show this morning and then DeAndre Liggins and all the places that he's played because we had him on the show yesterday
Starting point is 00:09:06 look at all the show prep we've done that's right now the question is if we did this next week after Matt's here I guarantee our search history is going to be a lot different who are actually trying to research stuff to get ready for the show today this week yeah and speaking of Liggins
Starting point is 00:09:18 I spent the day just doing more DeAndre Liggins, just videos, memories. I sat on there, I enjoyed that interview, but I just had like a whole DeAndre Liggins' appreciation afternoon after the show. I'd forgotten someone reminded us that after they beat West Virginia, the year after West Virginia knocked him out, he was yelling, do the John Wall now. Yeah, you're in the handshake line.
Starting point is 00:09:41 Found lots of old DeAndre clips. That was a good blast from the past, having him on yesterday and going back down that timeline. I'd forgotten a lot of that era, sadly. Well, you'd posted him hitting that big three against North Carolina, and that kind of took off. We all remember that, but some of the other stuff, too. But that was great hearing from him yesterday. You looked like Coach Pope and a couple of the guys were in Glasgow yesterday. Yep.
Starting point is 00:10:03 Doing a ribbon cutting for the Boys and Girls Club in Glasgow, right? Kelly Craft, I think, was there and brought down Coach Pope and a couple of the players. Trent Noah and Brandon Garrison. Pope, man, he just doesn't stop moving. You know, some people on Twitter were like, well, shouldn't we be looking at the portal? why is he at this? If the crafts want you to be at the Glasgow opening, you were going to be at the Glasgow opening because we are portaling with the
Starting point is 00:10:24 crafts money. So I'm glad he went to that. And hearing from people in that area, it was a big deal having them there. I don't know if Travis and Brandon Garrison spoke or anything, but it was cool that they made the trip to. It's just good to see that connection come back to the fans.
Starting point is 00:10:40 Doing little things like that to get that connection back with your fan base after our previous coach, it was kind of fractured for a couple years. And I assume he took air travel and that was a quick trip and it didn't impact recruiting. If anything, it was net positive for recruiting. The Joe Kraft helicopter or the plane. Or the plane going down there. And I'd also want to mention this is over in your side of the state. I didn't realize this until I got a note last night. McLean County, the flooding has been so bad over there at the school. They're not even back to school yet. They've had to cancel all their sporting events. I had no idea they were still suffering that
Starting point is 00:11:16 over McLean County? I didn't know that either sadly. I hate to hear that. Phoenix is from McLean County who was on KSR last week and then that's pretty close to Owensboro it's kind of in between us there so we both know that area very well. Well apparently it's so bad the schools are a lot most of the schools are still out have to cancel all their sporting events so they're really trying to struggle and pick things back up it's kind of gone unreported I think a little bit they're still struggling so bad we think of the flooding in eastern Kentucky but it's just had been bad in western Kentucky over this last round yeah and you know Frankfurt Louisville get a lot of headlines being the bigger cities
Starting point is 00:11:46 Buffalo Trace being under, but there are a lot of small communities still dealing with it, like McLean County. Yeah, I did. I read a story on Buffalo Trace. They're getting back to their production hasn't been stalled. But that whole backside of that mudslide, they lost, I think, some offices and things. They're still really dealing with that over there. Yeah, the water's down. There's still a lot of damage. That was, to me, stood out because I had just been there a few weeks before, and then like the the Blanton's bottling building going in there and they're doing it by hand. I had just been in there. and then you see in the water is above the entrance. That was a kind of surreal sight.
Starting point is 00:12:20 Well, they're lucky it didn't, was it worse than it was. You know, that hill slide, that mudslide, that mudslide starts falling down. It's a wonder, Shannon, that more of it didn't fall down into the river. It kind of got lucky there, I think. Could have been, yeah, could have been a lot worse, but still really bad. In Louisville, there's houses that are just, like, on the side of these big, I don't know if you would call them a cliff, but basically there's houses in Louisville that are just feet away from falling into a river. So we're dealing with that even here in Lobel from the flooding just a couple of weeks ago.
Starting point is 00:12:49 So here, you know, life kind of moves on for most of us, but a lot of people still dealing with it. So if you can find a way to help out these people, I'm sure they would very much appreciate it. Definitely. I got to tell you this. Join Jody Dimling. It's first time, man, we've readdered his name on this show in a while. Okay, let's join him. Join Jody Dimling and other racing experts at the 6th annual 840 WHAS Derby Betting Preview Night,
Starting point is 00:13:10 presented by Twin Spires. It's this Tuesday, April 22nd, from 7 to 9 at Mike Lerner. Lening's Restaurant on Cane Run Road in Louisville. Tickets are just $20 in advance, but seating is going fast. So visit WHAS.com to purchase your tickets today before they're gone. The derby's coming up faster. We realize what is it, two weeks from tomorrow? Now, did you fill out your credential application?
Starting point is 00:13:30 I didn't because I don't want to go. There you go. You're going to sabotage your credential process. If you don't fill out a credential request, you don't have to go. Okay. I'm going to remember that next incidentally tournament. I know somebody in Amsterdam that won't love you saying that when he says you have your credential. Are we supposed to be going and do a show there again? Have you not been checking your
Starting point is 00:13:49 email? No. Well, you should check your email. Do we have a show at, what, on Oak's Day again? I don't know if we have a show, but our bosses at I heart emailed us and said, fill this out. I saw that. And you just didn't want to fill it out? I just thought that they were sent out to everybody that's going to have to work. I know we're not doing any shows there. I don't think they just send it out for fun. If they said, fill this out, I think they meant to fill it out. I'm a big company, man. I'm busy that day. Okay. You're busy. You're busy. You're having a party that day. Everybody remember this on Monday.
Starting point is 00:14:17 I've warned him. I didn't see. If we knew we were doing a show there, it's different. But if we're going there just to watch and hang out for 12 hours, I got other things to do that day. Well, the subject line of the email is three exclamation points, all caps, important, three exclamation points. So I just thought, it seems like it's pretty important. Yeah. And it says each of you should have this or already have this and you need to fill this out.
Starting point is 00:14:43 So I just, when I saw that, I thought, oh. I should probably fill this out. So Shannon, when I saw it, I'm thinking to myself, this is for the people who are actually working. You know what? They probably think we're all supposed to be there doing a show, but we're not, so I don't have to fill it out. Don't feel like you're alone because it's the exact same thing that I hit delete.
Starting point is 00:15:00 Oh, you are going to be in trouble. Because, I mean, it's for, you know, if you want to have a credential, you know, there's your option to get the credential. Exactly. I don't necessarily want a credential. I guess I miss read important all caps with six exclamation points around it. Important if you're going. If you're going, you've got to fill it out by last night, I think was a deadline.
Starting point is 00:15:17 Oops. Shannon and I'll be. I can't save you all on Monday. I can't save you. All right. Well, take our break. Come back. Go back to phone lines.
Starting point is 00:15:25 859-2-287. Ryan Dream and Shannon. We'll be right back on Kentucky Sports Radio. Last night, a blown call changed the game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending. Opinions are flying. And nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
Starting point is 00:15:39 That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo. Every episode, we're cutting through the noise. Breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines. We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear. The laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments that never make the highlight real. From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down,
Starting point is 00:16:03 give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants answered. Sports slice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them. Listen to Sports Slice on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more, follow Timbo Sliced Life 12 and the TikTok podcast network on TikTok. What's up, guys? This is Clivert Taylor the 4th. And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff. Like being an internet famous referee. We're in the middle of a game.
Starting point is 00:16:32 This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me, he goes, A, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What? Time out. quarterback on office blue with 42. Hey, Brett. My mama want you to weigh better. What? Hey, Ms. Parker.
Starting point is 00:16:54 Listen to the Clifford show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. American soccer is about to explode. The World Cup is coming. Ramos sending on to Ernie Stewart the Chip. I'm Tad Ramos. I'm Tom Boe. On our podcast, Inside American Soccer,
Starting point is 00:17:18 you'll get the real storylines. not worried about Policicic. I'm not worried about Balagan. I'm not worried about McKinney. My only concern is what happens in the back. The biggest decisions. If you're going to look at stats and numbers, he has no shot at making this World Cup team. And the truth about the U.S. national team. It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals or potentially a great run into the semifinals. The World Cup is almost here. Experience it all with us. Listen, Inside American Soccer with Tom Bogart and Tab Ramos
Starting point is 00:17:54 on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, wherever you get your podcast. What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm CJ Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows.
Starting point is 00:18:18 Without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
Starting point is 00:18:39 And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nash would get that thing. That man, hell get the flying. He running up the court, licking his fingers, why he got the ball like, After you go through a training camp with that, I said, you figure it out real quick. Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
Starting point is 00:18:59 So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is Lazy Tuesday. Wow. From the archives. That was the best part. So that song was swept the country when it first released. Kind of got tucked away in the archives. Corey Price found it, dug it up.
Starting point is 00:19:20 Of course, still. Legendary song, UK basketball. Is that a song? Because after I hear it now, I probably could have left that in the podcast. I don't even think that's a song. Yeah, I think you could. They're just talking. They're just talking about Kentucky basketball.
Starting point is 00:19:32 Well, then let me just. There we go. For the podcast listeners, let me give you a taste. Don't mention the words Duke, bad memories. Talking about Kentucky basketball. Love Kentucky basketball. We love Kentucky to the basketball. See some Kentucky basketball.
Starting point is 00:19:50 Tom Leach, Leach, Leach. There's what part don't they do, Bill Keightley? Kightley. Kiteley. You know, now it's very common. There's videos all over the internet. We've got TikTok, it's very normal. But in the early YouTube days, you know, there wasn't a lot to watch.
Starting point is 00:20:04 And this is one that went viral around BPM. We put it on KSR. Now it's not uncommon at all to see someone making a music video. But this is one of the originals. Fun to go down memory lane with that song. It is. So there you go, Cahar. Was Jimmy, Little Jimmy, I think, was the name?
Starting point is 00:20:19 One of the, yeah. Now he can hear. here part of history. Teach little Jimmy about the lazy Tuesday. We're not referring to that as a song now. That was just spoken word. That's true. A poem.
Starting point is 00:20:27 A poem. Somebody sent me a picture of Calhoun, Kentucky, which is McLean County. My goodness. I had no idea. I mean, it is completely underwater. The river has completely flooded it. Yeah, the Ohio River down there. I didn't know either.
Starting point is 00:20:42 I actually feel bad that I didn't know being close to my home county, but that looks awful. I hope they can get back to normal soon. Well, I think that's, like I said, it's been underreported. I don't think the rest of the state we all realize that it's over there in McLean County. You know, still, the guy said
Starting point is 00:20:58 the school's out until further notice. I'd say so. That's a pretty bad sight there. What you show me that aerial view. So we'll be thinking of them. Hope everything gets better soon. We'll tweet that out also. I tweeted out the picture of my gold Mustang, but we'll tweet out that picture of the Calhoun.
Starting point is 00:21:14 Two former U.K. baseball players, Johnny Hummel and Nick Lopez, have joined the Savannah Banana's baseball teams. Probably maybe one of the, they play against each other. They're on different teams,
Starting point is 00:21:28 but it's the Banana League now because there's more than Savannah. They're not on the Savannah team, but one might be in Texas. Okay. There's been a lot of copycats, I guess, of the original ones, but it's Banana Ball. Banana Ball, but they play against the bananas every game, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:41 And they travel across the country. So two former cats playing in the, well, they're playing banana balls, what they're doing. Lopez especially, he kind of feels built for it. He was kind of silly over here, even though he was good. He had the big Raleigh Fingers' mustache and had a lot of personalities. So I think he has found his calling in the Banana League. So we go check them out.
Starting point is 00:22:01 I wish. Did you go in there in Louisville? No, I didn't get to go. That seems like something you'd want to do. I wanted to go, but I couldn't go. I was out of town that weekend or something. I don't remember. But maybe they'll do another pass-through and play here with these U.K. guys.
Starting point is 00:22:12 I think they'd get a good crowd that came through Kentucky again. Yeah, I couldn't go to Louis either. Those were like getting Taylor Swift tickets. You had to be on and get them in seconds. I hope they come back through two. I'd love to see that live. Shannon, did you go? I did not.
Starting point is 00:22:25 No, I wasn't able to get tickets in the lottery. I mean, who would have to? Oh, they had a lottery for tickets. Yeah, yeah. It was crazy. Yeah, you can't just go up and buy tickets at the ticket box. Ticket office. You have to, like, win a lottery to get the tickets.
Starting point is 00:22:37 Well, if you've ever... It went quick. They had like a 30 for 30 or something on the Savannah, but as if you ever watched that documentary, it's incredible how this has just blossomed into this entity that it is today. Yeah, we see the clips to go viral. It makes me wonder, you know, when a guy does a five-minute dance and walks up and gets a hit, like, how often do they actually get the hit?
Starting point is 00:22:56 Like, how many times do they miss and have to do a retake? That's why I want to see it live and see what it's really like, not just the, you know, 20-second clips we get online. 859-280287. That's our phone number if you want to call and get on board. So let's get another caller, Shannon. Who we got? Tyler.
Starting point is 00:23:09 Tyler. Tyler, go ahead, Tyler. Hey, morning, guys. I apologize. I missed the first hour, but I don't know if this came up, but I was at the engineering lunch yesterday. Uh-oh. Tell us all about it. I just wanted to say, what is that? I really appreciate Ryan coming out.
Starting point is 00:23:26 Uh-oh. I love you, but. He's right in the middle. He's right in the middle of five hours of technical presentations. So very dry, not a lot of humor. So I think everybody really appreciated the energy he brought in to lunch. So I went back, I'm a podcast listener usually. So you mentioned you talked about it.
Starting point is 00:23:44 I went back last night and listened to all of it. I think you guys prepped him well. You know, you got them set up, got it a little. maybe had a little nervous energy but i think everybody loved it we even had to basically cut him off for time like he filled the time a lot at and more um and we we we we i think it even stretched a little further to get us to the next session in time but uh no it's great let's sign you up for some more nice right oh i didn't know where that was going but uh i pretty he must not be one of the guys that was throwing there you didn't throw the protractor at me when i was in there no no no well appreciate
Starting point is 00:24:18 So you're so good. You can now do seminars for people on how to do public speaking. Well, I do work for a Zecu train, and we sell our training services, so I could probably be the trainer guy that does public speaking. There you go. You need to get a website for speaking engagements, not just say yes to emails. You know, like celebrities, they have a site. $10,000 for me to come speak at your conference.
Starting point is 00:24:41 You already have two very good endorsements from people who attended yesterday, so why don't you turn this into a business? I mean, I did get this free t-shirt. We got coach up on your business acumen. You need money, not free t-shirts. Free t-shirts are great, but you can now put a price tag on this speaking since it went so well yesterday. Like you said, you went to full 30 minutes. They had to play the wrap-it-up box for you to stop talking.
Starting point is 00:25:03 Yeah, the gal who was leading and kind of got up from her table and was standing beside the podium. Like, okay, I knew I was about up. You're pro. I looked there. She's getting ready to step on stage. I got to tell one more joke. So I was told my room full of timeout joke at the end it with. Oh, place went.
Starting point is 00:25:17 I mean, it was like, you know, going crazy. Ron Limon.com, five grand of speaking engagement. Who's next, Shannon? Phone lines are empty. Phone lines are empty. So let me tell you about Draft Kings because you forgot to set me up for that. Like I asked you not to forget, you forgot. You went squirrel on me, so let me tell you that the 82 NBA game grind is done.
Starting point is 00:25:37 We're ready for the playoff drama. Get in on the action at Draft King Sportsbook, an official sports betting partner of the NBA. Starting point is 00:26:11 Do customers only? Bonus bets expire, 168 hours after issuance for additional terms and responsible gaming resources see dkng.c.c.com slash audio. Appreciate it, Shannon. I should have mentioned when we're talking about UK baseball. They're at Tennessee this weekend. That starts tonight, right? Yep, got to take down the VALs. SEC Slate's been pretty tough. Don't have many series wins. It'd be nice to steal one down in Knoxville. And Tennessee baseball, their fans are such a joy and delight to be around down there. Yeah, I mentioned this early in the week. I had a friend in Knoxville invite me down.
Starting point is 00:26:42 I said yes, and then the next day I'm like, wait a minute, I don't want to go to Knoxville. I'll be around all of them. I'll watch it on TV, but I hope they get a win. You've got an update on your play or another dress rehearsal or when you're going to finally know your lines? I haven't focused on the lines yet. I'll get to that. Got a busy Easter weekend with family visiting, so not any real new updates, but I'm looking forward. It's a week from today.
Starting point is 00:27:06 I've had a lot of people ask, they want to come watch the play. How do they get tickets? You go to the Lexington and Children's Theater website. It's called the Curtain Call. It's there. the price of the ticket all goes to charity. We're doing this for goodwill. There's a lot of kids, and there's summer programs, and they travel to state,
Starting point is 00:27:22 and to put on the productions, they do, they need little money. So this is a fundraiser if you buy a ticket, and if you're there, there's auctions and fun games, live auction, silent auction. I think you can even bid online. So if you're interested, check it out at Lexington Children's Theater's website. Is it a thing where if it's so successful, you might have a second night the next night? They should have more than one night. I agree.
Starting point is 00:27:42 I'm willing to tour the state if they want to, but it's a one-off thing. But if it goes well, I might ask them if I can pursue other opportunities within the organization. How did they get you to do this anyway? I don't even know how that started. A guy named Kevin, who was in here at the bar yesterday. You just missed him. You had to rush out here. He invited me, and I had just been singing the greatest showman around my house,
Starting point is 00:28:02 so he caught me at a great time. Kind of thought I was already on Broadway when I saw the email, so I was a quick yes. And then a few days later, I started getting the information. I'm thinking, what have I signed up for him? but it'll be here next week. There we go. Drew and on the stage. We'll be right back. Alien topic coming up here on Kentucky Sports Radio. T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney.
Starting point is 00:28:22 Call T.J. He'll make them pay. Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. The long-awaited Drew Paloza Alien segment is about to happen. So who is our alien segment sponsored by Drew? UK Federal Credit Union. They understand that home is where the heart is, but it's also where the equity is. With the market leading home equity line of credit, you can improve your home and take advantage of rates as low as 6.5% APR.
Starting point is 00:28:49 Plus, there are no annual fees, no closing costs, and you can draw your funds only when you need them. So measure twice and apply once for a home equity line of credit from UKFCU. Visit UKFCU.org or visit one of the seven local branches to see how a helot can make your home improvement dreams a reality. APR percentage, no, I guess I wasn't supposed to read that. Federally insured by NCUA, Equal Housing Lender, NMLS, NMLSS, NER. number 4911-194. If there's one thing UK Federal Credit Union knows, it's aliens. And I know you wanted to do an alien segment when you hosted Drew Palooza last week,
Starting point is 00:29:20 but you were so much going on, didn't get to it. So before Matt gets here Monday, I thought we've got to give you your chance to let you do your alien segment. Well, Shannon and I said, I can't just create a alien thing. I need some stuff in the news, but luckily five days ago there was some news. That's right. So I'm just going to read you the news story and get your opinion on. And then Shan, I'll give our take. but this is as of five days ago.
Starting point is 00:29:42 All right. If I didn't have this, I don't really know what I'd be saying. Have you seen the declassified Cold War era CIA files? No, but tell me about it. It's a big deal. A lot of people are talking about it. Years ago, this is dug up from a 250-page KGB report that is recounting the events that happened about a flying saucer over the Ukraine.
Starting point is 00:30:05 These Soviets claim that a ship, I guess we'll call it, it had five short humanoids with large heads and large black eyes. Don't laugh. This is news. This is on actual news sources. This isn't me on Reddit. This isn't me on all the weird websites I go to. This is news.
Starting point is 00:30:25 Classified documents. Yes. Several news outlets covered this. All right. It said it fell to earth. And these five short humanoids with large heads and large black eyes came out. And when they escaped the debris from their ruined ship, they huddled together and merged into a single object.
Starting point is 00:30:43 This is according to soldiers in a CIA document that was recently declassified. Are you sticking with me? I'm with you so far. They merged and made one big alien. I guess. I know what you know. I'm just reading it straight from this document. They even uploaded the actual document.
Starting point is 00:30:57 So this isn't just people type and crap on a blog. This exists. At least the documents claiming. We're not to the crazy part yet. Oh, that gets crazy. So after these five little fellows with big eyes, Birds into one. Big dude with big eyes.
Starting point is 00:31:09 Yeah, Transformers. 23 soldiers who had gathered around to watch the phenomenon, they were all turned to stone. So there you go. There you go. Medusa. Yeah, that's how Stonehenge became a thing. All those rocks, they used to be soldiers. So in short, the CIA document about some Russian KGB soldiers.
Starting point is 00:31:30 They're watching this thing fly around. It wrecks, hits the ground hard, maybe as hard as Katie Perry's ship did the other day. They all come crawling out. Jeff Bezos opened the door and let them out, and the soldiers are gathered around, 23 of them. And these five things merge into one and then turn them all to stone. So where are these 23 stone soldiers now? I just told you.
Starting point is 00:31:52 The stone hinge. Oh, they put them on top of each other. I didn't read that part. Here's a quote here. It says, just to kind of follow up on what you said there. In a few seconds, the spears grew much bigger, exploded by flaring up. with an extremely bright light at that very instant 23 soldiers
Starting point is 00:32:11 who had watched the phenomenon turned into stone poles. Okay, that's not possible. But why would it be in a CIA document that was just declassified? I think these Russian soldiers may have told that story about that. They had too much Russian vodka that night. So you're blaming vodka. No part of you believes that five little fellows with big heads and big black eyes turned people to stone.
Starting point is 00:32:34 No. Not at all? Not even a little bit. Do you? As someone who believes their things out there, I have a hard time believing it. But, I mean, these are news sources sharing it. This isn't some wacky dream or some guy I met on the street with tinfoil on his head. This is in documents. You can read them.
Starting point is 00:32:54 250 pages. That's a lot of reading. Shannon, what do you think? Seems a little far-fetched. Like, why haven't they come down and turned all of us into stone if they can do that? That's true. If they had that capability. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:05 Why is it just these 23 Russian soldiers? They were the wrong place at the wrong time. You got a picture of the stone Russian soldier? Well, this is, they fired these missiles. There's a few photos. There they are with their missiles. They're not stone yet. And then the next photo shows the object.
Starting point is 00:33:18 Who took the picture? I don't know. I wasn't there, but it says Universal History Archive. And then there's the thing where they were shooting at it. And then there's the documents. Yeah, I think there's way too much partying going on that night. and they came back and they tried to CYA, they came up with this
Starting point is 00:33:39 ridiculous story, how they got so drunk that they didn't do what they were supposed to do, and they turned into, they said a bunch of their guys turned into stone. Well, they're still stones, they didn't come back and do anything. There were two soldiers who were not turned to stone. They were farther back, because they were in the shade, and they weren't exposed
Starting point is 00:33:55 to the luminous explosion. They were the two survivors. Those are the two that verified this story. Yeah. Those are the two that were really... Are you calling the KGB a liar? I'm calling those two guys drunk, is what I'm calling them. those two guys. Now, I can go along with, like there's recent reports about foreign planets having water on it. Maybe there's some life in this water. I can agree with there's alien life out there as far as, like, maybe in the water or in the soil, but there's not big-eyed little five-foot green
Starting point is 00:34:23 men that morph into one big guy. All right. Well, when they get here, you better look out. I'm going to be like the two guys hiding while you go check it out. It says, the aliens possess such weapons and technology that go beyond our wildest assumptions they can stand up for themselves if attacked. So don't be shooting down any crafts if you see them in the air. Well, that's another thing, Shannon. The state of Michigan has reported like this unbelievable resurgence of UFO sightings, like just in the past month or so.
Starting point is 00:34:51 Like all over, I don't know what it is about Michigan, but they're like all over Michigan. They want the lakes. They want the lakes. Is that what it is? Possibly. I think that now you're so knowledgeable. that you could go do like your own alien research luncheon and you could speak on it for 25 to 30 minutes. What do you think?
Starting point is 00:35:07 You think you go do that now? No. Okay. But I did, I did a late game post game show one time. It went like 1 o'clock in the morning, 2 o'clock the morning, and we switched over to the alien show in the middle of our postgame show just to hear what they were talking about. And of course, it's just ridiculousness, little green men and things like that. but like I said I do I can be talked into having life out there somewhere just not little green men that turn people into stone what about when we went to Roswell to the I guess it was a museum and they had actual evidence of these there's been some crashes they had photos I mean you were there you've been basically ground zero of all this that was just no part of you believed it at all total Photoshop bull crap is what all that was out there tourist trap is what that is I'm already nervous talking to about it on the air because I don't want them coming after me.
Starting point is 00:36:00 Them or the KGB, either one of them. I don't want aliens or KGB on me, but you downplaying it. I'm worried about you. Well, when Ryan doesn't come on the show Monday because he's turned to stone, we'll know what happened to him over the weekend. Or if he's not at our Oaks Show on Friday, it's because I warned him to fill out the email and he didn't. Okay, here's something I'll give you this.
Starting point is 00:36:17 And just in the last month, there have been UFO sightings in Michigan, California, New Jersey, Florida. All documented reports of unidentified flying objects flying over their land. So you're saying that, but you're also not believing it? I think those are drones. There's some sort of drones or China sending over like
Starting point is 00:36:37 spy stuff on us. Would you rather it be China or aliens? Well, if your alien can turn me to stone, I'm taking China. All right. That's Ryan's thoughts on aliens. I don't necessarily believe the stone thing, but it is reported everywhere about this document. I guess the document could be made up, but this isn't just
Starting point is 00:36:56 me being crazy and making some up for radio. It's on a lot of websites this week. So there is the Drew Alien segment. From Drew Palooza. A little carryover from Drew Palooza. Good stuff. There you go, everyone. I do want to tell you a text I just got on the A Vision Glass Text Machine.
Starting point is 00:37:11 First of all, there's a picture of Andy Beshear that leads to the text message. And it says, hey Leslie, Andy Bashir here, Governor of Kentucky and Vice Chair of the DGA with an important message. This message is only nine sentences long, so I need you to read every single word. That's as far as I'm getting. Who's Leslie? I get messages for Leslie all the time. I don't know where they've got that at, but if they think I'm Leslie.
Starting point is 00:37:37 Have you any more random pizza deliveries at your house? Like you had a couple weeks ago? That guy totally messed up. That was, like I said, he'd paid for the pizzas. It might have been funny, but he totally wasted those guys' money, wasted those guys' time. That was not funny. I would love to just sit and read your phone sometime with all the stuff you get.
Starting point is 00:37:54 Well, this number, but Andy Beshear is just now getting blocked because I'm not Leslie. 859-2-2-287. We got any caller, Shannon? Yeah, we do. Let's talk to Russ. All right, Russ. Go ahead. Hey, guys.
Starting point is 00:38:08 Greetings from Vanderburg County, but I'm actually down here in Loving Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and a little spring break. Hey, if there would happen to be green little people, would Ryan have to go up and touch them just to make sure that they are real like you did at the, the Devil's Tower and stuff. And real quick, okay, and real quick, the Gilmore player that's coming back to Kentucky from Nebraska, I know that in the past years, things were kind of getting a little laxed. And do you think, you know, with him being dismissed from the Nebraska team, that will kind of maybe have some people thinking, okay, Are we going to tighten the ship or are we just looking to get the players that can help out our team this year?
Starting point is 00:39:02 I'll hang up on this and thank guys. Have a good week. Appreciate it, Russ. Have a good time down there in Florida. I think that's the big question. If you're going to take this kid on who's like on a not just a second chance, but a third chance after he got kicked it kind of, well, he kind of got dismissed from Kentucky. Now he's been dismissed from Nebraska. Now you're bringing him back.
Starting point is 00:39:20 It has to be a zero-tolerance policy with this guy. You can't let anything slide with him. I think it's the only way it's going to work, Drew. And like he asked, you know, they're adding him because they want to win football games. And the receiver room needs some bodies. I mean, that's the reason they're doing it. But it could be the case. You know, he fell so far, realized if I'm going to reach my potential or have any kind of career about this,
Starting point is 00:39:41 I've got to straighten up and get serious. Maybe he needed to goof up to learn his lesson. But we really won't know until it all plays out. Well, that's what the message I got read yesterday. Like, he's a good kid. He just makes some really stupid bad mistakes. Well, now is your chance. I mean, you make one more mistake, you may be forgotten forever.
Starting point is 00:39:58 Yeah, it'll be zero tolerance for him this time around, I would expect. Got a text message if we go to the break. My father-in-law is a retired Air Force pilot. He says you can't find a military pilot anywhere that hasn't chased something in the air that they can't explain. Yep, lots of those out there. They all have stories. Morin just here dismissing it like they don't know what they're talking about. But they don't say anything that turns somebody into stone.
Starting point is 00:40:19 Okay, I agree. That one's a little far-fetched. You know, the Don Franklin Spring of Inn is happening now. Choose from over 6,000 new and certified pre-owned vehicles. No matter your situation, Don Franklin has tools and the experience to help you find your perfect vehicle to fit your budget and lifestyle. Starting point is 00:40:51 so you can hit the road in a safe, reliable car. Don Franklin has a huge selection of new 2025 models. You've heard Drew, you say them all yesterday. Don Franklin. Still your way over to Don Franklin.com. Don Franklin-Anne Driven by Family. We got one more segment. We'll take our last break.
Starting point is 00:41:06 Come back. Ryan Drew and Shannon here, I'm Kentucky Sports Radio. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending. Opinions are flying. And nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in.
Starting point is 00:41:19 I'm Timbo. From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down, give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants answered.
Starting point is 00:41:45 Sports Slice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them. Listen to Sports Slice on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more, follow Timbo Sliced Life 12 in the TikTok podcast network on TikTok. What's up, guys? This is Clivert Taylor the 4th. And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff. Like being an internet famous referee. We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me, he goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
Starting point is 00:42:17 What? Time out. quarterback on office blue of 42. Hey, Rhett, my mama want you to weigh better. What? Hey, Miss Parker. Listen to the Clippers show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:42:38 American Soccer is about to explode. The World Cup is coming. Ramos sending on to Ernie Stewart the chip. I'm Tad Ramos. I'm Tom Boe. On our podcast, Inside American Soccer, you'll get the real storylines. I'm not worried about it.
Starting point is 00:43:00 I'm not worried about Balligan. I'm not worried about McKinney. My only concern is what happens in the back. The biggest decisions. You're going to look at stats and numbers. He has no shot at making this World Cup team. And the truth about the U.S. national team. It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals or potentially a great run into the semifinals. The World Cup is almost here. Experience it all with us. Listen, Inside American Soccer with Tom Bogart and Tab Ramos on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, wherever you get your podcast. What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
Starting point is 00:43:41 And I'm CJ Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defining the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows. Without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:44:04 I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
Starting point is 00:44:23 Steve Nass would get that thing. That man, hell get the flying. He running up the court, licking his fingers, why he got the ball like, You go through a training camp with that Isaiah, you figure it out real quick. Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball. So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome back, final segment of Kentucky Sports Radio.
Starting point is 00:44:47 It's our final segment actually without Matt, who will be back Monday for show. We got some good stuff playing next week, so be sure to tune in next week for his return. We've got to do our Draft King segment here. There are the playing games in tonight in the NBA. We got two of them. Heat Hawks and Mavericks Grizzlies. Heat Hawks, what's that play look like, Drew? The heat are a one and a half point favorite in Atlanta.
Starting point is 00:45:11 You like the heat of the Hawks there. Tyler Hero looks so good. Him and Bam both looked so good for the heat the other night. And what, Trey Smith had some. Trey Young. Trey Smith. Who's Trey Smith? Trey Young.
Starting point is 00:45:26 You've been on fire. with the names lately. He had a little controversy in his game the other day. He threw a ball at the ref. Can't be doing that. I like the heat. So I'm going to go to the heat. I'm going to go the heat as well, side and with the cats. Yeah, what about you, Shannon? All right, let's make it three. We're all going with the heat. All go with the heat tonight. Add Atlanta.
Starting point is 00:45:41 I'm the spread. One and a half. I'll cover that. And then the late game tonight, the Mavericks, AD, PJ Washington, at Grizzlies. John Morant. Memphis is a six and a half point favorite. Whoa. I'm going with the cats to cover that. I don't know if they'll win. Davis and Washington with the Mavs, but I think they'll cover the 6th and a half.
Starting point is 00:46:00 We'll have a close game. That's a lot of points. It is. I would lean, yeah, Mavs may not win, but I think they cover that, so I'll go to the Mavs to cover. I'll take the Mavs to cover, and Mavs to win. Ooh, a little money line? Money line with the Mavs.
Starting point is 00:46:14 So we're all going together. I'm going to parlay the heat and the Mavs. We've got two cats on each team, be a fun little Friday night. Who have you picked to win the NBA? Who's in the finals? It's a play-end game. No, but I mean, when you get to the NBA championship, who's in the finals? Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:46:32 I mean, they're the favorite, but Oklahoma City's been so good. Yeah. I'll say, okay, see, Shea gets to the finals, and then it's going to be probably Cavs or Celtics. I'll say the Celtics experience gets them over the Cavs, even though the Cavs had the better regular season. So you say Celtics Thunder. Yeah. Okay, who you got, Shane? It's a kind of lame pick, but I think that's what it would be.
Starting point is 00:46:53 Well, I got to go with my Celtics. and I think probably who'd you say Thunder? Yeah. I kind of agree with that. I'll go Nuggets just to be different. Well, that's what I was going to say. I don't want to take a pig.
Starting point is 00:47:08 They're a four seed. They're a sneaky foreseeing. Jamal Murray wants to get hot. We all know what Yokets can do, but Murray has a good post season. I'm going Celtics Nuggets, I think, for the NBA championship. So there's your expertise. Draft King picks.
Starting point is 00:47:20 Go to Draft Kings. We're a D.K. partner, so we're proud to support them as much as we can. Or get on D.K. Horson do some. Keenland. That's what I'm going to do this afternoon. Keenland will be crazy this weekend. It's Easter weekend. Today's Good Friday. People are off of work. The weather's supposed to be spectacular today. I'm pretty mad at myself. This is the third straight Keenland meet. I'm going to miss.
Starting point is 00:47:37 I've got to get back out there. It's been too long. Usually I try to go a couple times of meet. I've been too distant the last couple of years. Well, if you feel like your question at your question, they want you to do for the derby, you can go anytime. All right. Let's go back to the phone lines. Get a couple calls before we get out of here, Shannon. Who we got? Miles. Miles. Go ahead, Miles. You've got to be quick. Hey guys. Hey, so, the perfect time to call about aliens.
Starting point is 00:48:00 I'm actually, I live up here in Alaska. And if you want to see some kind of spooky things, you hear about people disappear and get some real evidence of aliens, this is kind of the place you want to visit. But, yeah. Have you seen anything firsthand? I mean, you go out in the woods and you see weird lights, things flying over, stuff like that. I mean, yeah, I mean, you could definitely see a lot of things.
Starting point is 00:48:25 here that, and I've seen some things that it's just like could be explained by aliens. There we go. Well, apparently that's not, it's Michigan's not the hub of alien activity. It's Alaska. A lot of it's going on in Alaska. Yeah. All right, Shannon, who's next? Let's go to Jimmy.
Starting point is 00:48:38 Jimmy, what's the odds? This is another alien question. Go ahead, Jimmy. What's up, boys? Not actually an alien question. All right. But I've been meaning to call in for a couple, like, days now. And now that we're on dumb ways to die, this is the perfect time to do it.
Starting point is 00:48:52 I got on the wrong side of TikTok the other night. Have you ever seen cave diving? No. Tell us about it. Well, it's certainly a foolproof way to cross the rainbow bridge with the fact that you go underwater in a cave system that's already claustrophobic. So if you want to waste some needless time, go over to TikTok and search cave diving.
Starting point is 00:49:16 My only other thing was what's your top three Tyler Childers songs going into the weekend. Thanks, boys. Appreciate it very much. White House, Rose. my favorite. It will always be my favorite song. I just sang it out there for Mario on one of our videos. That's what you were doing outside. I wonder why you all stepped out there.
Starting point is 00:49:33 I've been singing that I will wait for you song a lot. Is that the name of it? Is that the name of the sign? Yeah, that's been in my head a lot. I like Lady Mae, Virgie. Lady May is my other... Right House Road's good. Feathered Indians is one of the first ones that put them on the map.
Starting point is 00:49:47 Take me back to Virgie. Yeah, it's been non-stop children's around my house for a couple weeks. A lot of them in my head. Shannon, you got any more?
