Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

What's up, guys?
This is Clever Taylor the 4th.
And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of
stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue with 42.
A rep, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Where's he at?
Hey, Miss Parker.
Listen to the Clifford Show on the Iheart radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
What's up, fam?
It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano.
It's our favorite time of the year on our podcast point game, the playoffs.
We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season,
and I'm looking back on some of my greatest playoff moments.
If we didn't talk ever again, I was harmed.
You just understood.
That's how personal it got.
Wow.
Then after that game seven, Mark keep coming until he's like, you know I love you, dog.
You know, it's all love.
This was just playoffs.
This was just basketball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
This is Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Now, here's Matt Jones.
Welcome, everyone.
Kentucky Sports Radio Monday, April the 21st.
I met Jones here live back in Lexington, Kentucky after a couple weeks in the Netherlands.
you normally would be able to give us a shout
on the Clark's Pumping Shop phone line,
but not today.
We got a lot of catching up to do.
How stuff has happened since you left.
859-280-2287.
A-Vision auto glass text machine, though,
I would like to hear from you.
772-745-24 in this edition,
sponsored by the T.J. Smith Law Office,
called T. J.L. Make them pay.
Guys, good to see you.
Welcome back. I like that your headphones snapped.
The moment you sat down, broke right in half.
They snapped right in half.
Shows that no matter what,
we still have the same equipment here,
even after I've left.
We're all kind of anxious to hear your stories.
We kind of, you know, waited until the show so we could talk to you and ask you about what you did, but I'm really excited to your back.
So I have, Shannon, 16, normally I have 12.
Today I have 16 topics.
Over prepared today, aren't you?
16 topics.
In theory, that could be to a segment.
We're not going to take any calls today.
All right?
So I have 16 topics.
I think we just do the thing where I say 1 through 16 and you say it.
Some of them are UK sports.
some of them are other things that I'm interested in talking about.
This will be a lot of sports, but also a lot of not sports.
We just got to catch up on these last three weeks.
So much you happen. So 16 things will make a goal of to a segment.
Some might be less, some might be more.
We might not get through all of them.
But let's just go.
Drew, I'm going to let you play the pick a number one through 16.
Let's just do it.
Pick a number one through 16.
Well, number 10 is my lucky numbers.
Let's just go to number 10.
Number 10.
It's actually
You got the one that people probably want to hear the most
That's why I picked it
Which is the UK, which is the portal and all that stuff
Okay
All right, so that's one
We'll start with that
Kentucky has a semblance of a roster
They do
So let's talk about who they got
Since I've been gone
We've had the kid from Tulane when I left
Right? What's his name?
Cam Williams
I've got to learn these people's names true
I can't keep calling them the kid from
He's forgotten because he committed when the tournament was still going on.
I think he got overlooked quite a bit of the news.
So Pam Williams from Tulane, we had him.
Then who was next?
Was it Jalen Lowe?
Was it the point guard?
Mohamediabante, I think, was next.
No, he was at.
Low was on a Saturday.
By the way, Shannon, we should consider muting Ryan's mic
after the last two or three weeks of scooping.
Oh, yeah.
We're going to talk about that as well because the scoop lemon took some hits.
Took some hits in the last three weeks.
His name mispronunciation last week either.
He doesn't know how to say these guys names.
He took some hits.
But first of all, Jalen Lowe, point guard from Pitt.
I love the fit with the guy from Pitt, right?
He can score.
He's exactly what we didn't have last year, Drew, a guy who could go get his own shot.
Now, he shoots a lot.
We're going to have to work that into what we do.
But we didn't have a guy who could go get his own basket easily.
That's a guy who can do that.
Yes.
I've seen some people hating on his stats.
but he was on a terrible team.
I mean, if you watch his highlights, he had to completely play hero ball a lot.
So I think once he gets in the system, has better pieces around him.
You'll see his splits go way up.
I'm very excited about him as a point guard.
I mean, he was, I don't think he was our first choice, but I think there was like a choice,
two, three, and four, and he was in that group.
I'm excited about him.
Then we got the guy from Alabama.
Is it Diabate?
There you go.
Mohamed Diabate?
Yep.
He was one of those like glue, you know, beat you in the face and rebound and punch you.
you in the ear and all that.
Teams need guys like that, right?
Need a big, strong physical guy down in the post.
So, yeah, he's that guy, and he played well against us.
He played them.
He held away to two points.
He held away to two points.
Then we got Jaden Quaintens, who there's an NBA player.
No doubt.
Potential top seven or eight pick.
He's young.
He's what?
Is he still?
I feel like when I read stories, he act like he's still 15 years old.
He's 11 years old.
He's 11 years old, and he still can dunk and do everything.
We wanted great athletes.
Athletes, one of the best defensive players in the country last year on a bad team, he's going to be great.
I think he starts for us.
What do you think?
Yeah, once he gets healthy, I think he'll start too.
ESPN has him going number five to the Raptors and next summer's draft.
So that just shows us potential.
And I love how his dad and he had been talking about how much they love Kentucky because he committed the first time with Cal.
Yeah.
Looked at it again.
He's already been in Rupp Arena.
Second time's a charm, right?
Yeah, he's going to be great.
Then we've got a kid from Croatia who, what's his, I don't know.
Ryan's actually been practicing this.
Ryan, let's see if you got it.
What's his name?
Andreas Yellovich.
Andreas Yellovich.
Andrea, I think.
I don't know anything about him, Shannon.
I've seen the video on the highlight.
He looks like the best player ever.
I'm sure they don't put his bad plays on the highlight.
But give me a Croatian.
I like a good Croatian on my teeth.
We already have one.
We got a second one now, right?
So he's a big guy that can shoot the ball.
And let's hopefully get his stomach right before he comes here.
You know, he's got to get used to this American food.
That was a problem for Big Z.
Let's make sure he's eligible.
Start eating American food now before you get over here.
It's a transition.
They got different food in Europe.
I'm used to that.
Like, they got different food.
Get him here.
I like that.
The best part of this, Matt, is he played for the bright pink team we saw in the Bahamas.
That's state of the casino with me all night.
They did not sleep.
I saw that on Twitter.
I didn't realize he played for the Bahamas gambling pink team.
Remember fund itch?
Funditch.
Yes.
So he comes from a program.
we know well.
That's very exciting to me.
The beta max.
You can't get a VHS player.
You get a beta max.
Maybe his team no sleep with the rest of them.
I'm in.
All right.
Now, that's the group, right?
That's who we have so far.
That's it.
Now, we're going to get at least one more, maybe two.
Colin Chandler's back, right?
Correct.
O.A.
enters the draft, I think he can't, but didn't enter the portal, which I think is important.
Which means if he doesn't go to the draft, I think he's back here.
That's good, right?
I think he ends up back here.
You've got, I said no.
Trent Noah is back.
Brandon Garrison back.
He will be on this show on Thursday.
Thursday, okay.
Brandon Garrison will be on this show on Thursday.
We're going to talk about how he likes to, you know, give him the old onesie, twosy on the core.
Has Travis Perry announced anything yet or no?
I have not seen an announcement, but I also have not heard one peep about him looking elsewhere.
Yeah, I don't need it.
But he hasn't made the like, I'm back.
I don't believe so.
Okay.
So basically we're one.
player way. It looks like they're trying to get a shooter. The kid from Kansas, Griffin,
Ryland Griffin is visiting tomorrow. There's some scuttle butt about this kid from Florida,
which is odd to me. He would leave. He was the six man this year. On a national championship team.
Presumably would have started next year, so I don't know what that's about. But I have, I've learned
something here, Ryan, since I've been caught. Yeah, you got smart on us. Yeah. I'm done worrying about
the portal. Yeah. Because the portal is unlike high school recruiting. Because it's like the supply of
players is, it is like endless. So you lose a guy and they go, oh, Mark Pope, whiff.
Whiff, strike three. And then like five new guys getting the portal the next day.
True. It's not like high school recruiting where you know the 50 dudes and it's not like people
are going to get older or better.
Drew, in this,
the players just keep coming.
So you lose a guy, just go get another guy.
So we ended up losing some people,
but then we got guys who were maybe better.
And the same thing is going to happen with these shooters.
Who was the shooter we lost?
We lost the kid from USC.
And then we lost the kid to Indiana, Wilkerson.
Yeah.
But now you may go get a kid,
Rylan Griffin, who was a top 40 recruit,
or the six man on a national championship.
championship team and Drew, it'll be just the same, you know?
Yeah, it's been wild. Even on Friday, I don't know if Kentucky will get Stoyokovic,
but his name popped up. I mean, it just keeps going. Hagridi from Memphis,
leading score in the entire country last year just pops up. Portal officially closes tomorrow,
so I guess it is closing soon, but up until this point, they just keep coming.
They just keep showing up in the water.
Swim it upstream. There's a swing. It's all right. So you didn't get one salmon, just stick your hand in the water and get another one.
2,300 people in the portal.
That is nuts.
Now, not all of those are Kentucky caliber,
but that is a lot of people.
So I'm done worrying about it.
Yeah.
Now, the only thing I am worried about Shannon
is the mystique of scoop.
Yeah.
He hasn't exactly had his best streak here
the last week or two.
We need to have a conversation.
Okay.
All right.
We're ready.
You were by my count,
0 for 43 in predictions on this.
I got 0 for 2.
Who was the?
one you guaranteed right before I left.
Well, you said we were getting Yaxel and Fulgwheres in the same week.
I didn't say that. I didn't say we were getting Yaxil.
You said two in one week.
Yeah, we were supposed to get two. The Spaniard kid from Robert Morris.
Who committed to Iowa.
But I never said he was coming.
I said they're in good position with him.
But I did say that we're going to get that.
M.
The guy from San Diego State.
Magoon.
And then didn't you have a nothing while I was gone?
Yeah.
And then when Drew and I started the show that morning, we thought.
No, don't pull me into it.
I said, I said, I don't know.
I said when Drew and I started the show this morning.
that the kid from, God, what was his name?
Wilkerson.
You guaranteed Wilkerson.
And then Indiana came in, like probably during our show.
During the show.
Yeah, yeah.
You think they called during the show and said,
Scoop Lemon has said this, I need to go.
They went to see him.
They didn't just call him.
They went to see him and made him a better offer
and offered to somebody in his family a position on the staff.
So he switched to Indiana.
All right, so let me ask you this.
First of all, I think recruiting is different.
It is totally different.
Like a guy can come in.
he's ready to go to a school, somebody offers more money.
Yep.
That's the world we live in now.
I think that's what's going to happen.
Do you think Scoop, you should adjust your scoop behavior?
Oh, definitely.
I think we all have learned some lessons on this.
Shannon, we all.
Yeah, I haven't learned anything.
I didn't have to learn any lessons.
Well, even Wilkeson didn't guarantee anybody.
Did you guarantee anybody?
No, I specifically said, I don't know at Wilker.
Shannon, did you guarantee you?
No, I did not.
Mario, did you guarantee anybody?
All right, so there's maybe one person that will
The Magoon guy, like all the crystal ball predicted, everybody had like Kentucky 100%.
That was a done deal.
And the kid just changed his mind and wanted to stay home and play at San Diego State.
So back to our, did we learn a lesson?
Yeah.
I'm going to definitely kind of chuck it down a couple of years.
Did you block the number from your source?
No, because he still has really good information.
It just changes.
It just changes in a day.
But because you know it changes, maybe should you change how you talk about it?
So maybe it's not like scoop lock of the month to this is where it stands now.
Yes.
Let's see what happens.
Yeah, because it's obviously kids are changing their mind overnight.
They are.
And then these schools are casting a big net, man.
And there's a bunch of people in their net, a bunch of salmon in their net.
We'll just start calling you a scuttle butt limit instead.
I think he might need to be scuttled butt.
Here's the problem with when Ryan does that, Drew.
True story.
I'm sitting in the Hague in the net.
other ones. Sitting in my room, it's a break. We have just been reading Spinoza. Oh, wow. What a day.
Yes. We're about to meet with Desmond Tutu's daughter. Really? Yeah. She was wonderful.
Yeah. But I have an hour and a half off. And I've got, I've just been reading Spinoza, been in my
philosophical bag. Right. And now I'm about to meet the Archbishop Desmond Tutu's daughter.
And I go, well, let's see what's happening in the UK world.
And I get on Twitter and everyone is mad at me.
At KY Sports Radio.
How are you going to guarantee burr, bur, bur?
And then I read it and it's really they're mad at Jack Pilgrim and Ryan.
But somehow that just becomes me.
I didn't know, Shannon, what Ryan had said.
I didn't know what Jack Pilgrim had said.
I was just getting ready for Mrs. Tutu.
You should have asked Ms. Tutu if she had any scoop.
Would have been better.
Matt Jones charges $999 for false.
I'm like, I don't.
I am with Tutu.
And I'm at the Hague.
I don't think you're on the website anymore.
I don't.
And Ryan, so I would ask because the people who blame me for the stuff on the website,
Like there's only something I can do about that.
Although I don't even think Jack and Jacob, I don't think they did anything wrong either.
People just need to calm down.
But you, you are someone in theory in your circle that I have control of.
Yes.
Can you just for me just take a deep breath?
Yes.
Before you guarantee something.
Like just guarantee it if it's guaranteed.
It was at the moment.
It just changed.
It just changed.
He changed his mind. He wanted to stay home.
So I got there.
An Archbishop Desmond Tutu's daughter.
Yeah.
She was talking about it?
When I came up to, no, she wasn't talking about the recruiting.
But when I came up there, she goes, you look worried.
That's what she said to me.
And I said, Lamar Wilkerson picked Indiana.
And Scoop Lemon had guaranteed it.
I didn't guarantee that one.
And everyone is mad at me.
So, lesson learned.
Oh, yes, definitely.
Yeah, kind of a, it's a different world we live in these days in their transfer portal,
NIL money.
8.59.
Well, no, I'm not giving you that.
We're not taking any calls.
We'll take a break.
Be right back.
Let's KS.

I'm talking, Tript Fantine, Ryan Clark.
Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase that we
don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
and we're still chasing it
and we don't know when we've done enough
because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,
because you find it important to be a good person
while you hear on earth?
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

What's up, fam?
It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano,
and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows.
Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reed.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us
on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He run up to cross.
Licking his fingers why he got the ball.
Like, you go through a training camp with that, I said,
you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court,
and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Welcome back, Tucky Sports Radio.
Text Machine.
Let's get back into texting, everybody.
772-7525-4-1-person writes, Matt,
Archbishop Desmond Tutu's daughter went to UK.
Look at that.
What?
I wish somebody had told me that before I met her.
We would have had something in common.
And she might have been interested in Lamar Wilkerson.
She might have been.
Maybe I could have broken the scoop was wrong.
Sorry, ma'am.
I didn't know that.
Did you know that?
I had never heard that before.
That would have been nice to know.
Apparently we're seeing her again in South Africa, so now I have something to say besides
you look.
There you go.
Besides her saying you look sad.
All right.
One through 15.
Drew.
I'm up again.
I will go lucky number 13.
13.
Rory.
Okay.
Sweetest thing I've ever seen.
So you got a chance to watch it.
I stayed up to like 2.30 in the morning.
Did you good.
Dude, that was top five sports emotion moment I think I can ever see.
Individual sports give you like an emotion.
Yeah.
That you can't even get in team sports because it's one person.
And watching Rory knocks it in the water on the one hole,
then comes back, sticks it within four feet on the next hole,
then misses a little putt, then hits it in a bunker, then makes a putt,
Then goes, like, it was great.
And then watching that seven minutes where he walked.
Uh-huh.
Yeah.
It was just like that was theater.
Wasn't it?
I mean, that was theater.
That was to me, Drew, why you watch sports.
Whether you like Rory or not, just that whole thing, like the agony, the ecstasy.
I mean, if he had lost, he might have cried for six months straight.
Like, it was awesome.
Yeah.
And it was already going to be exciting when the matchup was set going into Sunday.
but his legacy was on the line.
He would have been known as an all-time choke artist.
No, Craig Norman would have been like, all right, you're the guy now.
Because the U.S. opened last year, and then just the roller coaster.
He hits a great shot.
You're like, well, he's won it.
Then he misses a putt.
Then he goes in the bunker.
That shot on 13 in the water is one of the worst shots I've ever seen.
Yeah.
It was one of the worst.
It was a roller coaster.
I know you were pulling for him, Drew.
I was definitely pulling for him.
Shannon, were you pulling for him or did you want to see him show?
No, no.
I wanted to see him finish it out.
And it was very emotional for him there at the end,
just watching him cry.
as he won. And it felt real. It didn't feel fake.
You know, like, some people, like, they get into all that and it feels a little dramatic.
Like, it felt like the weight of the world was on his shoulders.
You could see him shaking. Yeah.
Even though he was the leader, I felt like watching it, he was the underdog.
And I was pulling for him because he hit those bad shots.
But to Jim Nance credit, he shut up.
He shut up. No announcing it all as he walked to the tone.
That was Jim Nance at his best. It was. Right there. It wasn't Jim Nance with a portrait of himself
hanging in the living room. That was Jim Nance just shutting up and letting it have.
Let the moment happen.
And let the moment happen.
And it was awesome.
It was very cool.
And you could tell when he broke down on the green and got to his knees,
I mean,
he was just,
he was trembling because he was so old and that all that more emotion just all poured out at once on the green.
Normally you'd think Justin Rose would have been the,
because he's old,
right?
And sort of gray.
He has his own master's struggles.
And he has his own thing.
But like,
everybody was like,
get out of here,
Justin.
Let,
let,
let Roy.
In the extra hole,
he hit a great shot.
Roy topped it.
And then he hit a great shot and then Roy topped it.
Like,
that was,
that was great drama.
And Rose was very gracious.
He was, because, you know, he has to be disappointed.
Yeah.
And he couldn't have been more gracious.
He's led after round one of the masters five times and never won it.
So he kind of had his own stuff on his back.
He can do it next year.
He can get it next year.
He was like 82.
Oh, wow.
That's really old to me out there.
He's like 10 jaden acquaintances.
That's exactly right.
All right.
So 1 through 14.
What do you got, Ryan?
11.
11.
Tyler Childers concert.
I got back.
Mario picked me up at the airport, which was very nice.
Got back. I was like, I love Tyler Childers.
And it would have been neat because, you know, I saw him in Amsterdam seven years ago.
That's right.
And it would have been neat to go from seeing him with 50 people to seeing him with 50,000.
Right.
Right.
But I was exhausted, long travel issues, which we'll talk about later.
But, so I decided not to go.
Saw a million videos.
I feel like the whole state was there.
Looked awesome.
He sang that Jersey Giant song, which he never performs.
The Light Show.
the drones, et cetera.
So first of all,
look like an amazing show.
You went.
Was it amazing?
And I didn't get to go to Stapleton at Krogerfields.
That was my first Kroger Field concert.
It made a great venue.
And it felt like there were three million people in there.
It was very, very cool.
We started at KS Bar,
had a good crowd there.
Actually, someone played Rocky Top during our trial.
What a jerk.
I ran,
the whole crowd started booing and I ran over to the wall and hit mute.
But we had a good pregame and headed over to tailgated,
and it was a great show inside.
I loved everything about it.
It was awesome.
I mean, I've become friends with Jesse and C.J. and Craig who are in the band.
And it's awesome to see two of those guys are Kentuckians to see this get, actually all three of them, to see it get to be on that stage.
It's just got to be awesome. And C.J. War, Jared Lorenz, and Jersey.
There was a moment where CJ, Jesse, and Tyler, they did that thing where they go to another stage in the very middle.
And it was just the three of them and they did a song together. So that was really cool to knowing them a little bit.
Craig's from West Virginia, but he lives in Ashland.
But so that was that was just awesome.
Now, the second thing, though, is you know Shannon, I like to talk about traffic.
Oh, yeah.
I hear when it was over, I hear when it was over, it was traffigin.
It was.
All of Lexington, downtown Lexington was locked up.
The grid was locked up.
Well, even the traffic didn't get to the concert.
I think some people miss Winona because they couldn't even get there.
They missed Winona?
Yeah.
Oh, no.
You can't miss Winona.
You can't miss Wynona.
I heard that, like, people.
were just abandoning their cars, handing their children to strangers and saying, save them.
That it was that, it was that wild.
They were pulling off and just walking.
They just had to walk.
They just leave their car on the road.
Find some parking spot down by the, what is that?
Morton Middle School and walk the rest of the way.
What was the problem?
I mean, just everybody trying to come in at once.
I mean, they have football games in a whole time.
We have football games there with more people than were there.
So what was the problem?
I got lucky.
Abby was driving.
We got a police escort home unintentionally.
We got out in 15 minutes.
But I had friends.
I'm in bed.
texting them and they're still at Krogerfield trying to get out. There are people still at Kroger
Kempfield now. Oh wow. They're like listening to the show trying to get home.
We got very lucky you got to go the wrong way behind a police motorcycle. I still don't know why
that happened, but we got out of there quickly. But behind us, we could just see the mayhem in the
rearview mirror. You should have parked at KAs bar if you did. Yes. Because I think that I had
people say that was the play. That was the play. But I mean, you know, I love that UK's doing this.
I love that it's sold out. I mean, I have to say when they announced it, I thought, well,
he'll get a great crowd, but I don't know if you'll sell out 61,000 people, but they did.
He stands up there in a Kentucky strong sweatshirt, you know, just proud of Eastern Kentucky
what they've gone through.
I'm just so proud.
I was exhausted and I just could not, because I, you know, you get to an age, Shannon, where the number
one thing about a concert is, where am I going to park?
How am I going to get out?
Can I get out?
Can I get out?
And I was like, I'm exhausted.
I can't deal with all that.
but I am like insanely proud
to see a dude that seven years ago
in the same city I was just in
had 50 people there
eight years ago and now
he fills up Krogerfield
that's got to be awesome
like it's only like Stapleton's the only guy to do that
another Kentucky guy he used to play for 20 people
at Al's bar and likes it in I liked at one point
he looks at the crowd he's like this is like 250
Al's bars in here so he was more mad
I think he messed up the math there but it was cool
and see him shout that out and just looking around
You could tell he was even impressed by what was in front of me.
You got to work on the traffic, though.
You got to work on the traffic.
That's a hard place to get in and out of.
It is.
Yeah.
But it looked like it was awesome.
And do you like the drone show?
Do you like all the lights?
I think it's cool.
I think it's really cool.
I had to ask, Drew, why did they do a rooster, though?
I don't know that story why they do a rooster.
He has that song, right?
Isn't that why he does it?
Yeah, some reference in a song.
That was very cool.
Yeah.
Well, if you had to miss Wynonner because of the traffic,
That would make me mad.
We'll take a break.
Barry Back's KSR.
T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney.
Call T.J. He'll make them pay.
Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio
presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.
So this is a song he'd like never play, Shannon.
Jersey Giant, right?
This is Jersey Giant. He hadn't played it in like 10 years.
Why not? Is there a reason?
He wrote it. I don't know the reason why he doesn't play it,
but he wrote it and other people have recorded it.
But like you have to be like an old school.
He hasn't played it since I've known it.
But you had to be one of the people that was going and seeing him in Al's bar to have heard him.
And he brought it back out for the show.
So like hardcore Tyler fans were very excited.
I'd heard that he had this song, but I'd never heard him play it once.
And he played it at that.
So I guess did the place explode when he started playing this?
From the people that knew.
Yeah.
From the people that knew kind of what it was.
I guess other people have recorded it like other country singers.

Mario 1 through 13.
Three. U.K. Baseball.
Yeah.
UK baseball goes on the road and for the first time since 2015
beats a top five team on their home field beating Tennessee, the dirty valls.
Huge win.
They're on the bubble for the college world series.
Now it looks like they're going to be on the good side of the bubble,
at least for the next few weeks.
Huge win for the UK baseball.
It was awesome.
I mean, they lose Friday.
Then Saturday and Sunday they held Tennessee.
one of the best offenses in the country to three total runs.
I watched Sundays.
It's three to two in the eighth, and they just ran it up on them.
Thanks, scored three in the eighth, two in the ninth.
Pitching was outstanding both those days.
They had won in Knoxville since 2016.
So a huge day, spoiling Easter weekend.
Tennessee fans are livid, Shannon.
They're so angry because on Friday, the Kentucky baseball team danced in the locker room.
Did you see that?
They did like a little, what do you call it?
like, I don't, not Gingo.
What's the line?
Like Congo, like a Congo line.
Did you see this?
They did like a Congo line during the game.
And some fan tweeted it out and said, look at these unprofessional,
Savannah, banana type, blah, blah, blah.
And then the Savannah banana type losers,
which is what I think that guy said, came back and beat him the next two.
Yeah, that was a huge series went over the weekend.
Now you got Louisville coming up.
I think, is that tomorrow?
That's tomorrow.
Tomorrow here in Lexington.
Get some big opportunities to get some big wins coming up soon.
They needed it.
I mean, they'd been having a struggle a little bit.
I know they won the series at Texas.
Now they won the series at Tennessee.
They needed that big win.
Texas A&M.
Texas A&M.
But they had had like three or four series where they'd gone into the third game
and lost by like one run.
And so it was nice of them to get it.
And against Tennessee defending champs, eat it.
Tennessee balls.
Just eat it.
Like they all these things are so high and mighty.
They're the team that talks like all that trash, right?
Their coaches up there always flip.
people off and they're trying to act like
they're the classy team. If teams
want to complain about Kentucky's behavior
okay, I hear it out. They can get a little over the top.
But not Tennessee because they're worse. They wear the
fur coats and the hats that say daddy
and their coaches always... They have hats that say daddy?
Yeah, I mean, they're much wilder
than Kentucky is. So of all teams to complain,
Tennessee's not the one that should be doing it.
Well, good. I like that Mingeon has fun.
Menjione told me in Chapulte back in the fall
that this wasn't the most talented
roster in the world. And yet they still
are fighting and they beat one of the national
championship contenders on the road.
They seem to kind of be finding themselves a little bit.
Like Drew said, the pitching was outstanding this weekend down in Tennessee.
So maybe it jumpstart the rest of their season.
One through 12, Shannon.
All right, let's go all the way back to number one.
Let's see what was number one.
Number one, BTI has quit.
Oh, rest in peace.
He's not dead.
What?
Rest in peace.
His internship just following is?
His internship is over.
We're not like the hunger games where if you quit, we must murder you.
You're no used to us anymore.
Take them out and back.
BTI, just for the record, has not passed.
He has been writing for the KSR website longer than anyone.
He was there.
It was me, Rob Godell, and the intern John Wilkinson,
and then BTI was next.
Wow.
18 years.
18 years.
An intern.
Never made an employee after all of the.
those 18 years, but he is,
he's decided to not write
anymore, which I,
you know, he was the original
hated KSR writer.
Like fans really would get angry at him because he would take
the, and I love you, BTI,
stupidest takes.
You know what I mean? He'd come on there.
I think they were intentional though.
He'd come on there and be like,
John Wall's just not that entertaining
to me. And you don't want to
what is wrong with you?
Brian. But nobody loves
the KSR site more.
Nobody's written.
I mean, he would write those morning takes and picks to click.
Picks to click.
Rants and ramblings.
Rans and ramblings.
So for old school KSR people.
And remember, I will now say it because we won't use it anymore.
We haven't used it a lot.
But on the very first day that I ever did a radio show, I said to people, if I know you're
listening on the first day, you need to say to me one thing.
BTI sucks.
Yep.
Because that's what people would say all the time.
And there are still people who will scream at me, BTI sucks and Brasso.
That's how I know you've listened for a long time.
So good luck to BTI.
I think even titled his post, BTI sucks one last time.
I mean, BTI definitely doesn't suck.
We love BTI.
It was fun starting our mornings with him all the time.
But that is one from the vault.
I think we even had a contest give away to Madness Camp Out where you had to run up and say it.
It was a big part of the early KSR Lord.
Yeah, if you came up to me and you said, I mean, I gave away tickets to a UK John Wall to Marcus Cousins home game.
I walked on campus and said the first person who comes up to me on campus and says BTI sucks wins.
And within 20 seconds, a girl came up and went.
BTI sucks.
That's awesome.
And I gave him two tickets to the game.
Definitely tip of the cat to that guy.
He's been a good backbone for you guys for a long time.
All right.
one through 11
Shannon
let's go 10
10
is that a bad pick
you don't like that
should I go 9
no no 10's fine
I just don't
okay so here's the problem
UK football
spring practice occurred
and I don't know what
happened
I was there and I don't know what happened
yeah
I don't think anybody does
I talked one day
while I was in the Netherlands
I talked on the phone
for like four minutes
to Mark Stubes
and he said to me something effective, so how do you feel like things are going?
And I had to just look at him and go, I have no idea.
Because I don't know anything about this team.
And I cover it.
Like, do you?
I know the roster now.
That's a step.
Okay.
So let's start with that.
Our quarterback is going to be Nick Impanada, right?
Unless something drastically changes.
I think it's going to be Zach Calzada.
All right, I was being a joke with the impanata.
I did not know his name was Zach.
I thought it was Nick.
Seventh year.
That's crazy.
All right, so he's a quarterback.
Who's our starting running back?
Probably going to be Dante Dowdell from Nebraska.
Of all my takeaways of the spring game,
and it was two hand-touched.
It was really hard to form an opinion.
They didn't go for very long.
He looked pretty good.
I mean, he had a couple runs.
Yeah.
They were actually tackling and weren't stopping him when he got tagged by the safety.
I think his first rush would have been a 65-yard touchdown.
So our wide receivers will be Macklin and who else?
Kendrick Law.
Who's that?
From Alabama.
Okay.
Actually, he played at the Super Bowl, right?
No.
I get it.
Thank you.
I thought Mario.
There's still a gray area with True Edwards that they really want to get.
He's trying to get the...
Isn't he like trying to get a ninth year or something?
Okay.
Yeah.
Where's he from?
Louisiana Tech
Okay
Honestly,
Quisenberry
The freshman looked very good
We watched his dad play for the Royals
Didn't he?
Yeah, he was a relief pitcher
That's right
I don't think they're related
David Washington Jr. also looks good in that
He was on the team last year
He's another young guy that didn't really expect
I see we got Hardly Gilmore back
Yes
He was hardly gone
And now he's back
Hardly knew him
That got the response
You could probably assume
People didn't love that one
As we're fixing the culture
and he just got dismissed from Nebraska.
But they needed to add someone.
Okay. Offensive line.
I'm not going to know anyone on the offensive line.
Did I see we got a kid who then has already left?
Yeah, they didn't have a transfer.
Probably because he wasn't going to play.
So we got a kid from New Mexico.
Yes.
Who then immediately went somewhere else.
Yes.
Talk about a short stay.
He didn't even get.
What could possibly go that badly?
He was going to play.
But he wasn't going to play.
It didn't look like.
That might be a white left.
I'll say this.
I know people have mixed feelings about Jagger
through his first three years.
Jagger is enormous now.
I even saw him out Saturday tonight,
not in like uniforms.
He's huge.
He is massive.
And he'll be,
they've moved him to center.
And then Shias,
Cheaz, Pete from New Mexico State,
left tackle.
That is a gigantic community.
I've heard that he's a big guy.
All right, that's good.
Okay.
So now I want to play a game.
Shannon.
How many defense?
Offensive starters can you name on next year's Kentucky team?
I don't think I can name one.
I'm thinking.
This is a hard game.
I'm drawing up.
I'm not trying to put Shadden on the spot.
I don't know that I can name one.
I just know one, just because he's been in my pool a hundred times.
What's his name?
Ty Bryant.
Oh, of course.
I know Ty Bryant.
Okay, so Ty Bryant.
There's one.
Give me another starter.
J. Q Hardaway's back at Cornerback.
Okay, know him.
DJ Waller at cornerback.
We're supposed to have a break out last year.
Know him, yeah.
So I know our, all right, I know a second.
Jordan Love it.
No him.
Okay, so all right, I got this.
All right, now we're starting to get a lot of newcomer.
We have Alex Safari.
He's been here since the mid-80s.
He's played right away.
Okay.
Then you get to a lot of new names.
The defensive line's mostly new.
Okay, read me the defensive line.
Well, you got David Gusta, Gusta, still learning.
Never heard that name.
He was a big get from the portal.
Josiah Hayes is back.
He had an injury last year.
Khalil Saunders is back.
Okay, know him.
They did Henry Young transferred out.
He was on the team.
That's the guy from Ohio State.
He's gone.
Yeah.
Then there's Humphrey Grace.
He's new.
Humphrey Grace.
Yeah.
McQueenie's Humphrey Grace.
Yeah.
I had a good service yesterday over at Humphrey Grace.
He made him an elder.
We caught the sunrise at Humphrey Grace.
Then Sam Green from USC.
Oh, yeah.
I remember him transferring.
He's a new edition.
He's a new.
He's good.
Yeah.
The linebackers are pretty new.
Rainer, he was on the team.
Other than that, they've added...
I thought he was our kicker.
No.
Well, it was.
He's beefed up in the off season.
We're moving him over to defense.
I was at the spring game,
holding a actual roster in my hand,
and I still struggle with what the defensive...
Look, I say all this to not make any judgment
about whether we're going to be good.
I just have never...
You have to go back to before I started this radio show,
to know a football team that I know less than this one.
I just don't know this team.
I don't know who's on it.
I've not seen, I didn't get to go to any spring practice clearly.
I don't know anything about them.
So one of the things I'm going to do over the next few weeks is just try to learn
because we're going to need to talk about them this summer.
I don't even know who these people are.
And I just think if I don't know and you don't know, right,
and you don't know Shannon.
And Drew kind of knows.
Then our football fans are going to have no idea.
who's on the field next year.
Don't you agree?
100%.
And the offense,
just so many new faces,
new quarterback,
new running back, new receivers,
new line.
They're all new.
The one position,
I think they got,
they do have some familiar faces back
is tied in.
Yeah,
they do have Willie Rodriguez.
Caddus is back.
Cadis, yeah.
So that's maybe the one position
they've got the most names
that people know.
You got Will Cox and Patterson
in the back field.
I'm a little worried, though,
we moved our kicker to line back.
Well, he did put on a lot of sides.
He was a good kicker.
We added a running back yesterday.
day from New Mexico State.
Another New Mexico State. Pete blocked for him.
Did we, did somebody just go on vacation in New Mexico and just go?
I like all these guys.
A lot of movement.
A lot of New Mexico.
All right, we'll take a break.
Very back.
KSA.
Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind.
Highlights are trending.
Opinions are flying.

That's where Sports Slice comes in.

Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
and we're still chasing it, and we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross, because you find it important to be a good person while you
here on earth, or are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

What's up, guys?
This is Clivert Taylor the 4th.
And on my podcast, The Cliverts show,
I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue 42.
Hey, ref.
My mom, I want you.
you to wave at her. What? Where's he at? Hey, Miss Parker.
Listen to the Cliverts show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your
podcast. What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast,
point game is about defying the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin
Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows.
knows. Without Luca and Austin
Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective
on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted
this series because when they don't
have Rudy in the lineup, he has to
really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall. And then
he has to give us everything he gives us on the
night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that
thing. That man, hell get the flying.
He's running up the court, licking his fingers, why he got the ball.
Like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
And Joe Hendry.
Yeah.
This was the highlight of WrestleMania for me last night.
I'm not going to lie to you, Shannon.
Didn't even know who this guy was.
Yeah.
Never.
I'm kind of been an off on the independent.
scene, but he's at TNA.
And for people who didn't watch WrestleMania,
long story short, wrestler gets hurt.
They got a feeling with somebody.
They call this guy on Saturday and go,
hey, can you fly to Vegas and wrestle?
And he comes out, and this is his song,
and he's ridiculous.
I can't even do justice to the, like,
you just have to see the video.
And Shannon, I loved it.
The whole crowd was chanting his name,
and now literally all morning I've been going,
like play the start again.
Just hit it from the start again.
I've been doing this like all the morning.
That's a great song.
He literally became popular just because his song is catchy, Shamed.
I had no idea who that guy was when he walked through the curtain.
But there he was in WrestleMania.
Joe Henry.
I believe in Joe Hendry.
So nobody knew who was coming out.
No, nobody knew who was coming out.
Wrestling fans, like hardcore ones know who this guy is.
But most people don't.
So they're all watching.
See, here comes out.
And here comes this guy.
I believe in Joe Hendry.
And the place goes nuts.
Place loses it because he's such a goofball-looking guy.
And I'm sorry.
Just go watch the video.
And you'll like it.
I got 10 topics, five segments.
We're not going to get through all of it.
So let me just, I'm going to get through some of it.
But let me just give a couple of things.
First of all, Mark Pope is going to come on the show for a hour-long sit-down.
Really?
But he is asked to, he wants to come on when the roster is finished.
Okay.
So here's a little.
tidbit. When you hear me announce the date he's coming on, then you're going to know the
roster is finished. Roster's over. But that also by implication means, Drew, the roster is not
finished. Because he was, we were going to try to do it this week or next week, next week's
derby. And then he was like, and then his people were like, can we wait till the roster's
finished? So that means the roster's not finished, Drew, because he will come on here when the
roster is finished. Portal's still open for another day. He has work to do. But once he's finally
ready to come on, it'll be great to hear for him, especially in the long form like that.
Yeah, so we haven't gotten to do a long interview.
What's probably going to happen is I'm going to tape it with him just like freestyle.
So we don't have to do commercials and all that.
And then we'll edit it into the show and just play it one day during the show.
Anxious to hear it because like we've said when you were gone, this time last year, he had no one.
Nobody.
Now we've got a roster we can win with.
Even though he's going to add some more guys, I think this is still a roster we can win with next year.
Otega O'A cut his hair.
Shaved it.
Shaved it.
It's gone.
All business.
All business.
No pleasure.
do you like it? Mario, when are you doing it?
He said he's not doing it. You got the same hair. Follow away.
You know, Tyler says follow you to Virgie. You follow away to
a nice dome. What do you think of it?
Looks good. You know, I thought his hairs might be, his hairs. His hair might be part of
his powers last season. I hope it's not the case. He's trying to look clean for the draft.
I don't think that is, but it's a good look for him.
I take it as almost like a commitment. Man, I am all business
this year. There's no flash. I'm business. I'm here to win. You don't think maybe he just wanted to
cut his air? It could be. Maybe he's going to be Yankees. All right. One through 10, Ryan.
Eight. Bill Belichick's girlfriend. Oh, boy. What's she up to now? 26. First of all,
let me just say, let me just say, Bill Belichick's girlfriend, do your thing. I'm not hating. Right?
Yeah. But the video from the spring practice is amazing. I mean, she looks like to me she's
running the program now. Yeah. Right? She's wearing this.
jacket, these boots, she's walking around telling people, you can see her going, um,
we're going to need to do this and that. And Belichick, who is known as a control freak,
just seems to be cool with it. I will tell you, Shannon, I'm fascinated. I am too. I think it's,
I think it might be the best story in college football is that relationship. I'm not at saying like
should he date or should not like, who cares? It's their lives. I don't.
care. But just their interactions. And if you worked at North Carolina and Bill Belichick's 25 year old
girlfriend, Shannon, is telling you what to do, that's got to be crazy. Right? Yeah. And T.J. Bisoner,
former KSR writer is one of the people that works there. Apparently when you were gone,
