Welcome to Hour 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Now here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio, 859-280-2287 here.
It's KS Bar and Grill.
folks ordering this morning already.
772-7-4-5-254.
Big happy birthday coming this weekend to our friend Dick Tamer in Middlesboro.
Dick Tamer.
Yes, so happy birthday to you, Dick.
Hope you have a great weekend.
Joe Pax.
Okay, so Joe's driving.
Apparently people call it Joe Pax.
Joe Pax.
I just showed you a picture.
That looks like a place that you would produce some pretty amazing fried chicken,
don't you think?
After you show me the picture, I immediately looked up how long it would take to get there.
It's two and a half hours from Lexington.
but maybe worth it.
You think it's worth it?
Maybe worth it to go eat.
It looks like, though, the kind of place that would have fried.
You're looking skeptical, Mario.
Maybe we'll send you on a food review, like that one kid I always see on TikTok.
He gave his first bad food review, by the way.
You know that one kid I was telling you about?
I saw he gave his first bad food review to a place.
I'm not going to say where it was.
I don't want to throw him under the bus.
But I felt bad.
He always likes every single place he eats, and he didn't like this one place.
Wow.
It was a place in Louisville.
didn't like it. That's a tough look. He's got a big following, too.
I'll make the trip of Mario, though.
859-280-2287.
Before we go to phones, a couple things. Nate Oates was in Lexington
yesterday. Why was he in Lexington yesterday?
I don't know. He was on a plane, flu commercial.
That's also I thought. He was on a Delta flight.
Had not one, not two, but three different people from three
different plane angles take a picture of him in the plane.
Which I got to tell you, man. Nate, you can't come to Lexington and not have people
know who you like when I see three different angles of you on the plane then I know you're on the
plane yeah he must not know the strength of the three different numbers but he was in lexington
so you want to just wildly speculate it would Travis perry be a Nate oates kind of player
it was actually the Alabama games where he seemed that's true it was the Alabama games
which kind of made me wonder how he was going to play at kentucky would be very ironic if he
ended up going to Alabama right Nate like shooters wouldn't surprise him
me maybe you just wanted to take in Keenland on a Thursday could be that could be it
my thought went to tail and Kenny I mean I know he could have flown into Cincinnati
but maybe he couldn't get a flight into Cincinnati so he had to fly you would fly to Lexington
to go see a kid in Newport you'd fly to Cincinnati I'm gonna say unless he had to do it
today and he couldn't get a flight there would he be coming in to meet with Otega
Trist still trying to convince him to go to wait a minute well first of all take a kid he's
he can't get in the portal I tried he didn't get into the portal why would you just
throw that in there we were spitballing yeah
I didn't like that spitball.
Maybe rented a car and went to Joe's fried chicken after reading that story.
Yeah.
Well, anyway, so I'm going to guess, Drew, just guessing you would think maybe Travis Perry, right?
Yeah, if it's basketball related, I don't know much else he could be other than Travis Perry.
I'll tell myself Keenlin, though, that he's not talking to Perry.
Yeah.
A lot of SEC schools have talked to Perry, though, so it wouldn't shock me.
Is he going to – you think he's going to end up in the SEC?
I told y'all that on Monday.
That's what I expect.
You expect him in Ole Miss?
I would say they're the leader.
I did not expect that many schools to reach out to him.
I know Florida is interested in Missouri.
What about Calipari reaching out to it?
I mean, John Cali Perry, who didn't even want to recruit him?
What if he?
I don't want him to leave, but I'm glad that these schools are reaching out to him
because I feel like our fan base was a little too harsh at some of the schools.
They were trying to push him off to Murray and Bellarmine.
I think people have been a little too critical of Travis Perry.
The fact that all these coaches are talking to him says he has value,
even though he does have some flaws.
But at the end of the day with Travis, are you, let's just say you were Travis Perry's dad,
okay?
And he came to you and said, dad, what should I do?
Or excuse me, yeah, dad, what should I do?
Would you have said gutted out another year at Kentucky or would you have said look somewhere else?
Let's assume the money would be equal.
If the money is equal, I would encourage him to stay home.
But if they're promising more money and more playing time,
I don't care how much you grew up loving Kentucky.
At some point, got to take care of yourself.
So what's the difference in amount of money?
Let's just say, I'm just ballparking.
Let's say he was making $200,000.
What's the amount of money more that would make you go,
I'm going to leave Kentucky and go to Old Miss?
Would it be, I think we all would agree if it was $400, you probably go.
Do you go at $300?
You got to remember, he was close to Old Miss.
anyway in the original recruitment. They were very high up, so he already has that connection.
I know he grew up Kentucky, he had it on his walls. We all think of Wildcat forever,
but he really considered other schools the first time around. So if they came by and doubled
the money and said, okay, so 300. Plus we don't have nearly as crowded of a back court.
So that's $100,000 more, yes?
Yeah, I think you've got to consider. He's not going to go pro and make a ton of money to play basketball.
Like Drew said, $50,000 more.
Ole Miss was the first school to even really recruit him.
Shannon, they're not answering the questions.
$50,000 more dollars, yes or no?
You're a competitor, man.
You want to play.
And if somebody's offered me more money into school I already like, I'm probably taking it.
So yes at 50.
I might even go even money.
Even money you would leave.
If I just want to go play somewhere, if I just want to go and be on the court and compete and play.
Less.
150.
I'm not going less.
No, I'm not going less.
Okay.
So you're willing to go.
for the same money, but you wouldn't go for less money.
If I knew I was going to have a better chance to get on the court and play,
and the school I really like.
Let's assume Travis Perry goes to an SEC school.
Old Mid, well, take Arkansas out of it.
Let's assume he goes to Old Miss, Alabama, Florida, Missouri.
Vanderbilt's also on the list.
Vanderbilt.
All right, let's assume he goes to one of those schools.
He comes in to Rupp.
Would we all agree he would get a round of applause?
I think so
It's hard to tell
There are people online
You gotta remind yourself
This is just a few
Anonymous people
Being jerks on the internet
I think he gets a round of applause
I do
Yeah
Shane and you think he gets around him
Yeah I think that he would
I think he would
Now what happens if he goes to another school
And scores
15 points against us
We should have kept him on the team
Why didn't Pope keep him
Yeah
That's what you're gonna get
That's happened before
You know with Chris Lofton
But Chris Lofton, though, Chris Lofton, we didn't recruit him, but it was because we had like four, like, there's a belief, which I'm not saying is true, that Travis Perry, there's a belief amongst some of our fans he's not good enough to play.
Now, I don't necessarily believe that, but there's a group of people that believe that.
I mean, let me put a different way.
Is there any fan that thinks Travis Perry should be the starting point guard next year?
No, not with the roster we got.
right now. Okay, so let's assume that's the case. Is there any fan out there that thinks he should
have the same role next year he had last year, which is to be the, when people got hurt, the number
one point guard off the bench, that maybe we shouldn't have gone and gotten Aberdeen and we should
have left him. Does anybody believe that? No. I mean, he was off the four last year. I think there are
some believe that. I think we saw Colin Chandler even leapfrogged him as far as being a backup point
guard. So if Old Miss Alabama, Florida says you're the backup point guard.
Does our fan base believe Mark Pope should have said you're the backup point guard?
My answer to that is no.
I don't think Mark Pope should have said that.
But him not saying is probably why he left.
So I guess what I'm saying is if he comes back here with another school and wins or plays well,
I still don't know what you wanted Mark Pope to do.
Yeah.
Right?
And my understanding is some of these offers are more money too.
a combination of playing opportunity and more money.
That's why he has to consider that.
Would you rather Kentucky not have gotten Jaden Quaintens to make for the money that they paid him to make sure Travis Perry's stay?
No, no.
I guess the argument is Aberdeen.
I think when he came to Kentucky, I think that kind of sensed the deal Travis in his mind.
Okay, so let's put it this way.
Would you rather have Aberdeen or Perry next year?
because ultimately that was the decision.
I'm a big believer before you criticize somebody,
you have to put yourself in their shoes
and see what decision would you have made.
You're flup-faced with.
Travis Perry's folks say if you get Aberdeen, we're leaving.
If you're Mark Pope, are you taking Aberdeen or you taking Perry?
Listen, I love Travis Perry, and I think people are being too critical,
but you have a job to have your best roster,
and Aberdeen just won a national championship.
Probably would have started at Florida if they weren't so loaded.
Yes, you have to get Aberdeen.
You're dating Aberdeen.
Shannon, who you get?
I mean, the guy just won a national championship with Florida.
Why would you not take that guy?
He was projected to be in their starting lineup next year.
You wouldn't take that guy?
Of course you would.
I love Travis Perry.
He was in this bar, his freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior year at the state championship.
I love Travis Perry.
It's a business.
It is a business.
You're taking Aberdeen, in my opinion.
What are you doing?
I'm making unanimous.
I think you do.
I mean, the dude is a proven winner.
Travis is still trying to prove himself.
So I think you take Aberdeen.
Okay, so we're unanimous.
I guess I would ask the fans, 772-745-254, what do you think?
Because here's what I think's going to happen.
Let's say he goes to Vandy, and he comes in here and scores 15, which is something I could see happening.
Absolutely what could happen.
Then what is our fan base going to say?
I think that's going to be interesting to see.
Who's up next?
Nathan.
Nathan.
Go ahead, Nathan.
Hey, I had a question about NIL.
So if Mark Pope can raise between $10 and $20 million for NIL from private donors,
why can't they just use that and then the part of the school pays goes all to football and other sports?
Or is there a cap?
Yeah, I mean, they could.
I mean, they could, and that might be a strategy that they use.
I mean, they could.
I think what Mark Pope would say is, why is it my responsibility?
to raise $15 million.
Yes.
If they can.
In theory, could you do that?
Sure.
Go ahead.
Oh, sorry.
No, I was, if they had a GM or somebody, you know,
they could focus on raising money for that,
and then the part of the school goes to other things,
because the more people are probably more willing to give money for basketball than football.
But again, Mark Pope, you're still asking Mark, Mark Pope would probably say,
and I appreciate the call.
Why should I have to raise all the money for football?
Right?
Yeah.
And Mark Stoops would almost certainly say the same thing if it was opposite.
So, I mean, in a perfect world, if Mark Pope could raise $20 million, and that's what you need,
you could just go, well, we're not going to use any of our school money because Mark can already do it,
but then you're punishing it.
Let me just put myself in those shoes.
Sometimes at this radio station, this show.
This show generates so much revenue that we are asked in some ways to subsidize other parts of the business.
And there's a part of me that goes, I understand that, but then there's a part of me going,
you're punishing us for our success, right?
Yes.
I think that would be kind of what's happening in the situation you're talking about.
So what if there is a booster?
Let's say Drew Franklin wants to donate $5 million, but just to basketball.
Then you would do that.
They would do that through Club Blue, and you could do.
do that today. And there are people that do that. And I would say there are more people that
actually oddly do that for football. Because Mark Stoops has cultivated some really close personal
relationships. There are donors who give money and they say this money is for football and that's
how it's done. There are donors who give only to volleyball. I know of one. Who gives a decent
sum of money but only under the understanding this goes for volleyball.
So that happens, I think, quite a bit.
I was about saying that about baseball.
I know people that cut a big check, but they say,
I only want this to go to the baseball program.
So that won't change even under the new LLC.
That part will not change.
Well, again, this is very complicated.
Part of the settlement with the court suggests that no N IL money can be used to recruit.
I've heard people say that no one believes that can be enforced,
and it will not be enforced.
But in theory, that's what it's supposed to do.
In theory.
In theory.
In practice, I would be shocked if that ends up.
That was originally how that happened.
That was originally how that happened.
That worked for about a week.
This Mother's Day, make your mom a great lunch or dinner with Noce Linda Farms beef.
How about that?
That would be great for my mom.
I could make her beef for Mother's Day.
You would make her some beef.
I don't know if she would like.
But I think it would be a wonderful gesture on my part.
Would you grill it?
I'll get it from Nochelindafarms.com.
and call 859707704.
I put it on the grill because they have the best beef.
They've got tomahawk steaks, bone-in Delmonico steaks.
Their Bonin Delmonico steaks are named for the famous Delmonico Steakhouse in New York.
Okay.
So Noche Linda Farms, go ahead and order.
Tell them that KSR sent it.
They've got all the flavor, all the beef.
They'll deliver it.
It is NocheelindaFarms.com.
I went to their website yesterday.
You kind of look.
They got a new website.
Very nicely done.

It's nochaelinda Farms.com.

Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,

Absolutely.

What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows.
without Luca and Austin Reeves,
I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective
on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything
he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by,
like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court, licking his fingers, why he got the bar like,
after you go through a training camp with that, I say,
you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,

Welcome back.
It is Kentucky Sports Radio here at the KS Bar and Grill.
Pat's in the house.
How you doing, Pat?
Good to see you.
I haven't seen you.
She's been to probably more remotes than anybody now.
That's probably true.
Yeah.
Her and what's his face?
Brian, that laughs really laugh.
Big Brian.
Brian.
Those are probably two that have been to the most.
We'll be doing some more summer remotes than we have.
By the way, if you own a business, we have a new thing we're going to do this summer,
where we will come to your place, but you can't have a crowd.
So we'll do a remote at your place, but it's less.
Like it doesn't cost as much, but we will come to your place, do the remote,
give you the ads, but we don't have a crowd, and we're going to do some of those,
hopefully for people who will.
like want to have remotes, but it's expensive to have us for remotes,
maybe a little bit less expensive and we come, but we just don't bring the crowd.
You can call High Heart and they can do that.
And that's kind of a nice way to go to some different places.
Yeah, GM Billy kind of gave us our updated schedule of our remotes coming up this summer.
We've got a lot of them coming up.
Yeah.
One person writes, Matt, I think you are unfair to Travis Perry because he's not from the 606.
If he was from eastern Kentucky, you would have a much more powerful view that he should be on the team.
No, I would not.
To much criticism over the years have always taken the view that while I want to have a Kentucky kid on the team like a Kentucky kid,
just because I think that's good, you play the best players.
You don't, I mean, you play the best players.
This is, as, to quote John Caliperi, this is not for funzies, right?
So we got to win, and there will be nothing worse than playing all the kids that would make our heart full,
and then we lose.
and then everybody gets mad at those kids.
Right?
We don't want that.
So while I'd love for Travis to be on the team,
but like, let's be real.
If we were playing next year, again,
I hate saying this because I think the kid's awesome,
and I want him to succeed.
But if he were on the team next year,
he would be the 12th or 13th man.
So I understand if he,
If someone else is offering him better than that, Drew, I understand why he would go.
And, you know, this is just the world we're in now with the NIL.
Who's to say some of the Kentucky guys that are coming in or already on the team or on down the road won't play a year and then go off somewhere because someone steals them?
At the end of the day, your opportunity and the paycheck you're going to be getting is going to win out over the Kentucky Dream.
One person writes, Matt, my wife and I are huge fans of KSR, and we also like some of the shows on Barstool.
So I was excited to tell my wife yesterday that you just,
Drew and Mario were going to the barstool gala.
My wife's first comment was, what in the world is Matt going to wear?
First of all, your wife does not have a lot of faith in my fashion.
Maybe correctly.
I really think you should go with the Barney Purple Dinosaur suit.
You wore to the Oaks a couple years ago.
So there's a guy here in Lexington who apparently is like a high class fashion guy.
and Albert Couture.
That's his name.
Yeah.
What's his name?
I think it's Albert Couture.
Couture.
I believe so.
And I have a person who knows him trying to get in touch with him because I was like, hey, man, think about it like this.
If you make me look good with clothes, then that's going to be like, wow, if he did that with Matt.
He can do that with anybody.
He can do that with anybody.
But I guess it's derby season, and he must be busy because I haven't heard from him yet.
So I don't know if Albert's out there.
I already have a rain couture jacket.
There you go.
From Amsterdam, I think if Albert Couture is out there, I'll pay for it.
I just need to know what to wear.
I went the traditional Logan's route yesterday.
And when I was in there, multiple people were asking if this was for the gala.
I even had some nice women who heard the show, asked if Ryan's okay.
I kind of let them know that was a little bit of bit.
Ryan's fine.
But it's the talk of the Lexington fashion scene right now.
Do you know what you're going to wear, Mario?
Not yet.
Okay.
Yeah.
Well, I mean, my guess is you'll make it work.
When you're your age, you can wear most.
You get older, it's got to be better because, like, you know,
the raw materials aren't quite as good as they were there.
I didn't go tux.
Just regular black suit.
Okay.
I'm not going full black type.
I'm not going a little bit spicier if I can find the right thing.
Who's next?
Adam.
Adam.
Adam, go ahead, Adam.
Hey, guys.
I had a question and a comment.
A question I was listening to sources of say and
Pilgrim and
Sean Smith said that they thought
they had the vibe that Kentucky was the
cool school again.
Not quite the same as when Calipari
took over, but he said
they both said that they thought
that's the vibe that they were getting
with the portal and high school recruiting.
Well, they would know better than
me. I don't
I don't know if that's,
I don't know if I totally agree
with that. I mean, are we the cool school?
We will never
ever, ever be a cooler school than we were from 2010 to like 2018.
Like we were the coolest school in bat.
And you know, do you know what I think changed that a little bit?
Who's the player that might have changed that a little bit?
Or is that making us cool?
No, going the, like making us not the coolest anymore.
Taking away our cool.
No, not, I mean, I still think we were, when John Wall got here for eight or nine years,
we were the coolest school in the country.
I think Zion changed it a little bit.
I think Zion flipped the view of what Duke was.
Yes.
To people.
They went from like the dorky, whatever school to,
and I think Duke then flipped it a little bit.
But I don't think, I do think,
I don't think we're considered like dorky,
but I don't know if we're the hot school that's like,
let's go there because that's where, you know,
I don't know if that's the case.
So right now we're the rich school.
That's why they're probably the most interesting.
They're seeing these social media graphics, whether they're true or not, that's all over the internet.
I mean, money will make you a lot cooler.
That's true.
That was going to lead into my comment.
I saw a lot of just negative comments about whatever the NIL number is, if it's $20 million, $15 million, whatever it is.
A lot of negative comments about that.
I think that as a positive like.
Yeah, those people need to shut up.
If you're complaining that we're spending too much money on NIL,
Like, what do you want?
I mean, you want to appreciate the call.
Let me, baseball is the only sport without a salary cap.
Would you rather cheer for the Dodgers and the Yankees?
Or would you rather cheer for the Tampa Bay Devil Race?
Like, you want to cheer for the team that spends money, right?
Yes, that's why our, there are so many Yankees fans even in this town.
Pittsburgh Pirates.
Pittsburgh Pirates.
Okay, you're a Pirates fan.
I'm a Reds fan.
What's hard is
But if we had the ability to resign Paul Skeens and Ellie De La Cruz
Wouldn't we say do it?
Even if it was $75 million, it's not our money, right?
We'd say do it.
So I feel like UK fans should be happy there are people willing.
It's not your money.
If they're doing it, be happy about it.
Yeah, if we're not on these graphics, it's been in the most.
We're not mentioned at all.
And I'd much rather be on these graphics.
Even if they're exaggerated as the school paying a lot.
I mean, you think St. John's fans sit there and go, I wish we were back to spending no money?
No.
I mean, I wouldn't think so, do you?
No, they're relevant again.
You know, the guy said he thought we were the cool school again.
It's hard to accept that when we have a pretty dorky head coach leading our way.
He's a self-proclaimed dork.
Yeah, I mean, you watched the team last year.
I don't know that anybody looked at that team Shannon were like,
these dudes are like the coolest.
No, no, no.
No. Not that adjective.
I mean, we had like four players on the team married.
You know, I mean, they were just a different kind of group.
Yeah.
But at the end of the day, no matter how much we pay, whether they're cool or not,
it's all about whether you win.
If you win, you're cool.
We'll be right back.
T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney.
Call T.J., he'll make them pay.
Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back, Tucky Sports Radio, 859-280, 2287 here at KS Bar.
You said, well, first of all, by the way, my trivia is Tuesday.
Get your team together.
There are three more triviaes between now and the end of the season.
The next one is Tuesday.
I've already written like a third of the questions, so we're ready to rock.
So Tuesday is the next one.
So get your team ready.
You said you might have an explanation as to why Nate Oates was here.
Allegedly, there is a horse.
horse farm owner here in central Kentucky.
I'll stop with the horse farm.
That is a huge Alabama booster and supporter,
and that Nick Saban has even flown up here to visit him at the farm.
But Nick Saban did not fly commercial.
That's what I was going to say.
Like, if it was a huge booster and he was visiting him,
don't you think he'd pay for the private flight?
You would think.
He was commercial.
He was Delta premium economy.
Well, it was premium.
But it wasn't even business class.
He was premium economy.
Those don't even come with free drinks.
So it was a scoop or scuttle boat?
What are we labeled?
No, I'm not going either one.
I'm just saying that's a possible.
Are you scared to do any more scoop?
You scared them in just not being scoop anymore.
Have you been scooped too scared for it?
Well, the one, the Munguth M.Gwath.
That's not a name.
You've got to pronounce people's names correctly or just say the kid from San Diego State.
He was, I felt really good about that information.
That was good, solid information.
He just changed his mind, decided to go back to San Diego State.
But when we said it, it was good stuff.
But doesn't it ultimately only mean?
matter when it's over.
This is why you maybe say scoop today, but it could change.
Okay.
Use those words.
Yeah.
Not two commitments this week.
Be ready.
Two commitments this week be ready.
That's very definitive.
The Spaniard dude was ready to go, and then he went home, and they couldn't wait on him
to come back.
Yes.
So they moved on with that.
Move past him.
Let's just play.
I don't want to talk the details of this because it's, I don't like talking about
such subjects, but just make a bet.
Will Shannon Sharp ever be on ESPN again?
I'm going to go, no.
I don't know how they can, to be honest.
I mean, not in this day and age and things like that happening.
You?
Yeah.
Shannon, it's never a good idea when your defense is release the whole sex tape.
Yeah.
I wouldn't go with that strategy.
You know what I mean?
When that's your best argument, I don't know at that point.
Maybe don't speak.
maybe find a lawyer.
Forget about the details of it.
Here's a little tip.
All right.
So everybody who has something happen,
a lot of the famous ones,
they hire a PR company.
Yes.
Right.
Scott Jennings,
who's on TV,
his,
like,
his whole business is,
if somebody has a crisis,
they call him,
and he tells them what to say.
Right?
So, like,
people have PR companies.
And honestly,
it's kind of like a lawyer.
People always say,
well,
if you get arrested and you ask to talk to your lawyer, that must mean you're guilty.
I always say to people, if you're guilty and you get arrested, call a lawyer.
But if you're innocent, you should really call a lawyer.
That's even more important.
Well, Shane and Sharpe, he has a PR company, I'm sure.
But the PR company, he released his statement, and he released it as a text message he had received.
Did anyone notice that?
Look at his statement online.
Didn't bother to retype it professionally.
He just screenshited.
It's a text message that's on the left of the screen,
which means you got it sent to you.
Shannon, he didn't even put it on the right side of the screen.
We need somebody to handle this whole thing for him.
Let's not have Shannon Sharp involved in any of the released statements or anything.
Could he not have at least cut it so it was not obvious that it was,
sent to him from someone else?
I'd say even copy the text and put it in a nice graphic, maybe even say it into a video.
Yeah, call Mario and have him make a graphic.
Mario can make a TikTok for him.
I just, when you are screenshoting a text message, someone sent you as your statement.
I'm just, I feel like, dude, you need to take some time, because you're not handling this right.
Kat Williams warned him earlier this year.
Said everything's coming to light in 2025.
Well, Cat Williams knows.
But you work at ESPN, you think they have to put it, they will put it back on?
No, no.
Not certainly not now.
I don't think so either.
I mean, you know, maybe one day, but not anytime soon.
Who's up next?
Let's go to Ariane.
Arienne, go ahead, Arienne.
Hey, Matt, first time, long time.
Who I?
So I just had a quick question.
So like you, I'm also a Chicago Bears fan, and I was a little bit puzzled.
the pick with Colston Loveland.
I know he was a great tight end at Michigan,
but we already have Cole Commets,
and I just didn't think that was like a primary need
that we needed to address.
So I guess my question to you is,
at that position in 10th overall,
who would your ideal home run pick for the Bears have been?
I was fine with the tight end
because our new coach,
and again, I don't really know what I'm talking about,
but our new coach is very, like, his offense,
you need athletic tight-ins
who can get down the field, and apparently this kid is that.
I'll admit I didn't know his name until five days ago.
But I thought a tight-in was fine, to be honest with you.
I mean, I think the Bears can be good this year.
And so I'm okay getting a threat to help us.
Plus, I think, again, from what I'm told, Ben Johnson plays two tight-ins a lot,
so now we have two tight-ins.
That's my NFL draft analysis.
Yeah, I'm really hopeful for Ben Johnson,
But ideally for me, Genti would have been the home run, but I'm so excited.
Yeah, I mean, he was gone.
Yeah, he was gone.
I'd love to have had Genti.
I appreciate the call.
I'd love to have to have had him.
He's going to the Raiders.
The Raiders.
Did you think my Titan should have taken that trade that was full of picks?
Because I do.
Yes.
I was not happy.
I mean, if you listen to the experts, they say that Cam Ward would have been like the fourth highest pick quarterback last year.
So if that's true, you know, just punt.
I mean, you guys stink.
You need everything.
So just punt,
pick your quarterback next year.
We could have gotten Abdul Carter, who's a sure thing,
and who I wanted anyway.
Even though I'll get excited for Ward,
once it came out what the Giants offered,
is like, how did you turn that down?
Let me ask you a question.
Will Levis start one game for any team next year?
Now, remember, that doesn't mean you have to be started day one.
He could be a reserve that comes in,
but if you had to make a bet,
will Levis start one game in the?
the NFL next year for any team?
I'll say yes.
Okay, and what do you think?
I say yes because he'll be a backup and then they just get forced into action
throughout the course of the season.
Will he be on Tennessee?
Unlikely.
I think Will, you know, I'm not going to sit here and act like Will's going to be a great
quarterback, but I still think that was an unfair situation because the Titans were
so bad.
He was constantly scrambling for his life back there.
I think wherever he goes, he deserves a fresh start, and hopefully people will
look at him with an open mind and decide what happens at his next step.
but the Titans just sucked last year, and he wasn't the whole problem.
I know no details about this at all.
So I'm not taking a stance one way or the other, but I just saw a headline.
When people ask me, what are the headlines that make you worried about the future of the country?
Oh, no.
This is a headline that makes me learn.
FBI arrest judge in Wisconsin for immigration decision.
That's not good.
That's the kind of thing that, like, again, I don't.
know any details. Maybe she did something.
Maybe the judge did something all. I don't know.
But, like, that's the kind of headline you see and you go, oh, no.
Who's next?
Rebecca.
Rebecca. Go ahead, Rebecca.
Hey, now, don't cut me off. Just listen to me. One minute.
Maybe.
I can't promise you not to cut you off, ma'am. Like, I can't say that. But go ahead.
This is for your knowledge.
The guy is Arthur Critcher.
If you get a Tops Magazine this month's issue,
there's a big picture in there, and it really caught my eye and the details.
The second thing is, this was the first thing, is Ryan Lemon's picture in there at Executrain
is the most incredible picture, Ryan.
It is such a good picture.
Wait a minute.
You're just for everything.
Topson, Lexington magazine.
There's a picture of Ryan.
When you say it's incredible, what do you mean?
I mean he is dressed to the teeth.
He looks wonderful.
thin and it's really
really good. Wait a minute. He says
this photo. Ryan, that is
photoshopped, isn't it? No,
it's not photoshop. I've got to find this
photo. No, it's not. I've had people
see it to me. She just said you look amazing. I haven't seen
you look amazing in a long time.
I want to. Well, you will.
I saw the picture
when I first looked at it. I thought that's got
to be photoshopped because I don't look that good.
So there's no way it's you. Where was the picture taken?
I meant to bring this up last week.
I meant to bring this up last week. I got a
suit on, I shaved?
I want to see it.
I'm going to find it.
Okay, ma'am, thank you very much.
I have to find this picture.
Wait, wait, wait.
Hey, Matt, I need an answer.
You were telling a story a couple of days ago about your trip and this guy that nobody really liked
and something happened that night.
And it went to commercials.
I never heard the end.
He's getting investigated.
Trump issued an executive order to have him investigated, but I haven't heard anything else about it.
So I don't know what it is now.
It's just, you know, he was a guy that I knew, and so I don't know where it is.
I haven't seen anything else about it.
Okay, thanks.
Appreciate the call.
Where's this picture?
I'm looking.
I'm scrolling through the online.
Mario, do you have the picture?
I had this on my list of topics last week because it was a, here it is.
This is, there's no way this is not.
Let me see if this is really.
There's no way that's not photoshopped.
Oh, my goodness.
That is a good picture of you.
First of all, who is that one?
The head's not even on right.
That's Krinda Frankie.
She's our boss.
executive train and she's hired me
part-time do some sales work for them. That's your boss?
That's your suit? I mean, hang on. I've got a lot
of questions. That's your boss? Yes,
Krinda Frankie. She's beautiful. She is beautiful.
That's not you.
That is me. That is not you.
First of all, you're way tall
in that picture. You're not that tall.
She's not a lot of a bucket.
They got you.
I'm not that tall. She is wearing heels.
There's no way you're that tall. Secondly,
and I love you, but
that's not your body shape.
me you have that suit your body is your body is not that shape tweet the picture out i got to see it send me

No, they didn't.
You're being serious.
That's you.
Yes.
That is your best photo.
That's a glamorous shot.
You should take that picture.
That picture should be on everything you do.
That's the best.
If that picture's real, and Mario, I do not believe it is.
If that picture is real, you should use that picture on everything you do.
That's the best picture of you I've ever seen.
I'm looking at it right now.
Look at that.
I mean, Jim, that's not here.
They photoshop his head on a different body.
That is a different body.
That's like a tall, slender person.
That's a short stubby person.
Shannon, that's not him.
No, that's Ryan's body from 30 years ago with his head now.
First of all, that's got a filter or something on it.
I should never see you ever use a picture that's not that one.
No kidding.
Well, I'm holding a clipboard.
His hair even looks good.
Look at his hair.
I got a haircut the day before the photo shoot.
You got a full head of hair.
Unbelievable.
Unbelievable picture.
That's not your body type.
at all.
That is my body type.
You're not that you, no.
All right.
I'm going to believe him.
He wouldn't lie to us, but I'm skeptical.
I just tweeted.
To whoever took that, you should
like go, that person
better be a full time.
Mario, you're fired.
Mario, you're out.
Mario only takes pictures from under my nose.
You're out.
I need those pictures.
Tell me about Stockton Mortgage.

There we go.
Let's do a before and after.
Yeah.
All right.
See, get that woman to come.
Let's recreate the whole thing.
Ryan's not going to eat all weekend so he can be slim for Monday's picture.
We'll take a break.
Be right back.
It's KSR.

Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross, because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth.
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff,
like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me.
me he goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue of 42.
Hey, rep.
My mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Hey, Ms. Parker.

What's up, fam?
It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca.
and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows.
Without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stopped by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get to fly.
He running up the court, licking his fingers why he got the ball.
Like, you go through a training camp with that, I said.
You figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Welcome back.
It is Kentucky Sports Radio.
I mean, all right.
Shannon, go look, go look at the picture that Kev Miller.
I just retweeted it.
We just retweet it.
That's allegedly the same suit.
No.
Come on.
That's not even the same person.
Yeah, it's the same suit because you can see the, the, the lapel.
I know you love, I know you love Ryan, but that's not the same suit.
It's just a different pose.
It's a different pose.
I love the shirt that's soaked with all.
the same size in these two pictures well duh there are two pictures and i'm not literally
standing beside each other no you are literally by side not not in real life what does i
even mean this shows drunk as ryan in that picture on the left i still haven't released
all my wedding photos of ryan i have about 50 of them they're just sitting in a folder on my
computer oh boy what a long night that was 2280s a short night actually
Text was for you.
You were home before they threw out the booting ears.
772-774-5254.
Who's next?
Tommy.
Tommy.
Tommy.
Hey, first time, wrong time.
Ooh.
I got a question for Drew.
I'm on my way to Talladega for my bachelor party.
Oh, no.
Sitting in the back of an RV.
Is Talladega this weekend?
Is Taladaga this weekend?
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Real fast and real left, Matt.
I'm sitting in the back of the RV drinking some cold snacks,
and I remember Drew said when he went there
that a man's got to really want it in the infield of Talladega,
and I just wanted some advice from Uncle Drew.
I've done an RV bachelor party in the infield of Talladega.
I did not see a single car or race while I was at Talladega for an entire weekend.
Didn't even bother to go look at the track.
You're going to want to burn your clothes when you get home.
The smell that I smelt when I walked into my house was unbelievable.
You're not going to get to shower much.
My best piece of advice, though, is my group, we all threw in money and we rented our own porta-potty that no one else could touch.
They drop it off at your tailgate.
They drive around.
You pay for it when you first get there.
That's a good idea.
Best money I've ever spent in my entire life.
How much set costs to get a porta-potty for a weekend?
I want to say it's a little under a hundred a person.
I would have paid whatever it costs.
because we all we had a pack to keep it clean you didn't have to deal with the public restrooms so if you see the porta potty delivery guy going around it's my best advice invest in that i think that's great burnt your clothes actually uh i really like that idea i think that's a really good idea uh who's up next
austin austin go ahead austin austin go ahead austin sir pro ad right before this segment that is peak ambient that i don't know if you've heard it but that'd slow it down a little bit that happens sometimes
The second thing, you guys may have already talked about, I'm usually a podcast listener.
The $20 million, or whatever it is for the NIL, is there any Title IX restrictions with that?
Well, okay, that's a great question.
The short answer is probably not.
Under Title IX, you don't have to give equal results.
You just have to give equal opportunity.
And so I think under the old interpretation of Title IX, it still would not have had to
been an equal revenue share between men and women.
So let's say Biden had won the election.
I still don't think that would have happened.
But when Trump won the election, they've altered the government's interpretation of Title IX.
So I think it's almost certain now that it won't be equal.
But I don't think it would have been otherwise either.
So you have to give equal opportunity, which is scholarships, but you don't have to give equal
results, which is expenditures.
And that's generally been the law for a long time.
Appreciate it.
Appreciate it.
That's why, for instance, the men's team can fly chartered to stuff, and then sometimes the women's team takes commercial.
Now, I'm not saying that's good or not, but that is the interpretation, and that's been the interpretation of the law for a long time.
And it's getting, it's gotten a lot better the last couple years.
I know we had that bad incident with the women's final four, and they showed their workout room, and they showed the men's final four and showed their workout room.
That was pretty disgusting, the difference in that.
Yeah, that was embarrassing.
but they've gotten better.
The NBA's 82 game grind has done.
It is the playoffs.
Last night, the Thunder blew a 32-point lead,

Dion Walker, Dumas,
Johnson likely to be picked on day three of the draft.
And then that's probably-
Eli Cox in the weekend.
Maybe Eli Cox gets picked seventh round.
Never thought Dionne Walker would fall this way.
He's following the way.
Going into last season, he was a guaranteed top-10 pick, I think.
Apparently, I talked to one of my ESPN friends who's all into the draft who told me
he went to all the workouts way out of shape.
And they were like, if you can't be out of shape when you know you need to be,
what's it going to be like when you play?
Thank you folks very much for coming.
