Starting point is 00:03:29 As we speak, well, we got a show right now. We'll do it after the show. Yeah, okay. I think we'll be ready to come in and try to defend the title. I have an appointment, Drew, at 1.30, to get my fashion on for my, for my, you know, for our trip out to Scottsdale. Going to meet with Albert. His last name is not Couture. It's something else.
Starting point is 00:03:50 That's the name of the store. That's the name of the store. I thought it was Cotour. It'd be a cool last name for a guy in fashion. I was like, man, what a fortunate last name you got. But it's not. But so I have that appointment. And also for later today.
Starting point is 00:04:03 It's a week away, week from right now. We leave Sunday. We leave quickly. Early Sunday. Are you sad you're not going, Ryan? Well, you know, I'll miss the fun times. You know, I won't miss the travel, but I'll miss the fun times you guys will have out there. And you had, Shannon, he would have looked great with his new suit.
Starting point is 00:04:18 That's right. His new suit is new body and everything. That's right. I forgot to wear my suit today. I was counting on it. Did you forget to wear your body today, the new one? You know, I spent the weekend in Owensboro and he, Even over in Owensboro, they're talking about, that ain't you.
Starting point is 00:04:32 That is not you. What are you doing in Owensboro? I see you have a hat that you took more free clothes. Why did you go to Owensboro? With a golf tool on the visor. What is this Ron Lemonade golf? You played golf. Ben Hall State Park Saturday morning.
Starting point is 00:04:44 What did you shoot? Well, we were shooting like a baseball scramble. So did they use your shot at any point? I hit a 40-foot put. I rolled one in. It was a massive. You couldn't do that when Prism was on the line, huh? No.
Starting point is 00:04:56 Good for you. It was a big Kentucky Wesleyan baseball alumni reunion. You didn't hear us talking. I mean, it's big news. Yeah, I didn't get the memo about it. Well, this was a good weekend, you know, because I'd been gone. This was like a good weekend to kind of chill. Watched a lot of sports, actually.
Starting point is 00:05:11 Watched the draft, which we'll talk about. Watched a bunch of reds, which we'll talk about. They're hot. They're hot. Summer belly. I'm just saying it's not just summer valley. Summer Boston Hayes. You know, Gavin Luxe.
Starting point is 00:05:26 A lot of summers coming. UK baseball. Watched a little bit of that. Yeah. They won a big series, so they're still on the path to hopefully make the tournament. So basketball, hockey, Mike Keynes. Like, there was a lot of,
Starting point is 00:05:40 this was a big sports weekend. This is the time of year where there's not like that big event, but there's a lot of stuff going on so you can just kind of flip around. We went to the Owensboro new gaming facility. Watch more hockey probably than I've ever watched in my life because we were betting on it. We're betting on hockey. You bet on hockey? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:58 Who'd you bet on? Did you bet on the Winnipeg Jets? I've been on the Ottawa senators. Ottawa. I like how you say that. Yeah, you've been to Ottawa. Did you know that? I didn't realize that.
Starting point is 00:06:07 Have I been there? Yeah, that's where we went to the U.S. embassy in Canada. Remember, that's in Ottawa. Why do you say it like that? Ottawa. It's just Ottawa. You ate caviar there. Tennessee.
Starting point is 00:06:21 It's Ottawa. Yeah, we ate caviar there with U.S. ambassador Kelly Kraft. Do you remember that? I remember that. And Daniel used all there. syrup, pancake syrup. Yeah, Daniel took all of the syrup outside of the whole country of Canada. You know, Canada has
Starting point is 00:06:36 their elections today. Did you know that? They elect their new I think they call them a prime minister there. I think they elect a new one today. So that's exciting. Big day in Canada. Big day in Canada. Big day in Canada. Hey there. All right, so there are
Starting point is 00:06:49 a lot of ways to go and I was sitting here going there are the things you should talk about in terms of like the biggest stories. Yeah. Which I think the biggest story in sports is probably the draft, which I do want to talk about. You know, you got some Kentucky guys made big plays. There were UK basketball players in town, et cetera.
Starting point is 00:07:11 I think we have to start by talking about that Bill Belichick interview. Oh, yeah. I mean, I just, I, first of all, you, Drew, you love CBS Sunday morning. Oh, I don't miss it. It's one of the finest programs on all of television. Yeah. Shane Polly, absolute legend. Is she still doing it?
Starting point is 00:07:29 Yeah, she doesn't. not there every Sunday. You know, sometimes I groan. There's a stand-in, but I did a big fan of Jane and what they do over at CBS on Sundays. And I think what you like about it, if I remember, is that it's pleasant. Like the music comes on, it's very peaceful. You know, they play the trumpet at the end. They just show nature. I'm a big nature guy. So usually I'm making breakfast or I'm just starting my day and I have it on in the background. Because of ESPN, I, um, I haven't watched it, uh, in a long time. I, one, one time many, many, many years ago. I'm talking about when I lived in D.C., I was dating a woman that would insist it had to be on, kind of like you. And it was for the music. Yeah, just push it in a good mood. She liked the music.
Starting point is 00:08:15 She thought the music was. It's a good way to start your day. And the sunshine, there's always a sun involved. So they decided to interview Bill Belichick. And, you know, I mean, they do occasional sports on there. I don't know if that's a regular thing. But they're very rarely. They decide to do interview Bill Belichick.
Starting point is 00:08:33 Now, look, if you're Bill Belichick, you have to assume when a non-sports entity is interviewing you, that they're going to be at least partly curious about your relationship. Wouldn't you agree with that? Off the field stuff. You got to know it's coming. And like, who cares about anything off the field for Bill Belichick? but that. I don't even know what we would talk about off the film. What would you talk about? Do you know one interest Shannon Bill Belichick has outside of his
Starting point is 00:09:07 relationship? No, not enough. No, I don't. Seemly a real stick in the mud, really to me. He seems like a grump, you know. So he decides to do the interview. All right, a couple thoughts. Number one, I am Mr. Hoodie. Yes, you are. I will wear a hoodie in most situations. I'm not going to say I would never wear a hoodie for an interview, but it would have to be a certain kind of interview. But did you see the hoodie he had? Of course. Had a nice hole in it.
Starting point is 00:09:35 It not only did it have a hole in it. It had a hole in it at the top that was on the camera. And it didn't just have one hole. It had two holes. Big holes. Big holes. Big holes. Two massive holes in the camera.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Now, Shannon, again, I'm not Mr. Fashion. But why do you wear a sweats? shirt with two holes in. That's a great question. If it were Ryan Limit, I would expect that. Bill Belichick, no. Ryan would know better than that. If I told you you were going to be on CBS this morning,
Starting point is 00:10:06 would you wear a sweatshirt with two holes in it? No way. I'd wear something actually kind of nice. Yes. I'd take a shower and shave even. Looks like he didn't do any of that. He said no to that. So this is Bill Belichick Raw.
Starting point is 00:10:19 And of course, they then ask him about his girlfriend. Right. It's Tony DeCopal or whatever. I don't think he's known as like a hard-hitting journalist. And I thought, Drew, he asked the question in like the nicest way possible. I think so, too. Right? You're dating someone.
Starting point is 00:10:35 He wasn't being judgy. Yeah. He was just like, oh, you're dating someone. Tell us how you met. Which, Drew, that feels like a pretty innocuous question to me, doesn't it? Yeah, big life change. You seem to be happy. Tell us about it.
Starting point is 00:10:50 He didn't say, you're 71. She's 25. what's up. He just said, how did you meet? And Shannon, she jumps in. It's like, we're not talking about that. Yeah. She was dictating what questions were asked and the direction of the interview. Yes. And he didn't say a word. Yep. She's got him on lockdown, man. He just completely deferred. So then he, I thought Tony DeCopal made a, very reasonable follow-up, which is, okay, but you all post about this all the time. You show the pictures of you holding her up in yoga poses. Do you not want to talk about it?
Starting point is 00:11:41 And he said, like, I have social media, but I don't know what's on there, which actually, I believe, to be honest. So this has become the talk of the Internet. Apparently, according to a source at CBS, she interrupted a lot of questions. And they showed that one so that people understood what was going on. But she had interrupted like five or six questions throughout the thing. What's your take on that? It's wild. He's not a control of his own life.
Starting point is 00:12:07 I mean, she's offset interrupting a very big interview. Like, you know, I'm not the only person that watches that show. CBI, that's a big production. And she's off camera just telling them what they can and can't say. It kind of adds to, you know, what you hear about at UNC, where she's got to be on C-C'd on all the emails, and she has a say in how the football program's running. He is just a puppet that is sitting on her fist at this point,
Starting point is 00:12:30 and she is running everything and speaking for him, a grown man. This was one of the most powerful men in sports. He seemed like a dude that you couldn't cross. He would cut people for looking at him the wrong way when he was with the Patriot. I mean, he had full control of that locker room. Full control. He was the coach and the GM. How, Shannon?
Starting point is 00:12:52 Did this woman get the ability? to just say you are not answering the question and he didn't fight back at all. I didn't really speak up. I have a few guesses. I don't think we should say I'm on the radio, but I have a few guesses. I don't know what I'm more fascinated by. Her sort of dictating the interview or the whole. Both of them are fascinating.
Starting point is 00:13:16 I go back to the tear on the shirt that the guy just didn't care, just sat down. He came in with a raggedy shirt that I wouldn't wear. to sleep. You wouldn't wear it to sleep. I mean wear it to sleep. I was better dressed watching the show on my couch. I don't know one person on earth that walks around with holes in their shirt except occasionally Ryan and he doesn't even usually know they're there when it happens. The fact that he would go on national television. And how would the girl for a whole of his shirt? You know, she dressed them? She looks like she's misfashionable. I thought she would have had him in a pastel sweater with some product in his hair. I'm surprised she approved that. Now, people say to me, okay, that's his lucky sweatshirt from when it's like his dad's. Fair enough.
Starting point is 00:13:59 But you don't have to wear it on television. No, right? Like you can have it. Wear it on game day. I don't care. Do it. So, Ryan, when you watched it, what was more fascinating to you? My initial thoughts were this guy, Drew says, coach, general manager of an NFL locker room,
Starting point is 00:14:16 probably the most alpha dog males in the world, these professional, mentally strong athletes. And this coach is now cowering down to the female. So we all know what's going on. We know who wears the pants in that relationship. To a 25-year-old. She calls all the shots. All of them. So I got to say this.
Starting point is 00:14:32 I'm not criticizing the woman. Well done. Yeah. I mean, you, she has taken control seemingly overnight of a man who it seemed like, I mean, he made Tom Brady left. He took the greatest quarterback of all time and said him or me. and they picked him. It's unbelievable. It's one of the most unbelievable things I've ever seen.
Starting point is 00:14:59 Oh, yeah. I mean, there's some sorcery going on there. It really is. It's an unbelievable thing. And I thought, like, all weekend, I was like, I can't believe this. The UNC players have to be making fun of him behind his back, right? Which is crazy that in a Bill Belichick locker room, you can make fun of him. All the respect has gone at this point.
Starting point is 00:15:15 But, yeah, I'm trying to put myself in his situation. I'm 71 years old, a beautiful 25-year-old girlfriend. I'm doing whatever she says. Yeah, I mean, kind of. There's a certain point, though. To a point. To a point. I wouldn't let her tell me how to do an interview on national TV.
Starting point is 00:15:34 That's where to me you have to draw the line. You can't say, I'd be like, listen, I want your advice on. You cannot interrupt the interview and say they can't. How do they not have an answer of how they met? I thought maybe I'm wrong. Didn't they meet on an airplane? Yeah, that's a common knowledge. Yeah, that's the story that came out.
Starting point is 00:15:52 Well, the story was they met on an airplane and they liked each other. Why couldn't they just say that? Because it makes it much more suspect that now they don't want to talk about it. Because I thought the story was they just met on an airplane. And he like signed her book or something. Yeah, why don't I just like just go with that? Makes it a bigger story now. You mean somebody on a dating app.
Starting point is 00:16:11 You just later say, Shannon, you ran into him in the grocery store. Right, right? Who cares? Yeah, what he cares. I think he asked that in the most innocent way. actually I think the reporter did a good job trying to just tiptoe into that conversation. He said he even said
Starting point is 00:16:26 your all's relationship is sweet or something and they had to know it was coming. I have to tell you. For a man who it's like watching it would be like if Bobby Knight at 71 years old had just gone from the Bobby Knight
Starting point is 00:16:43 we know to that. It's unbelievable. Yeah, of all the people. I mean, he's like known as a hard that you cannot break him. Yeah. And so now, you know, his 25-year-old girlfriend's interrupting and dictating the conversation.
Starting point is 00:16:57 Now that reflects on him for the rest of his life. He's no long, he's lost that edge, I think. It's one thing if they're wearing matching pajamas and she's making him watch Love Island, you know, marathons. But to do it in public like that. He is a broken man. He's a broken man. All right. We're going to take a break.
Starting point is 00:17:12 We will talk a little UK sports. I had to start with what was most interesting to me. Everybody's talking about. We'll take a break. Be right back. KSR. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind.
Starting point is 00:17:24 Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo. And in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, I'm bringing over a decade of my own experience
Starting point is 00:18:21 in the mental health field and conversations with so many incredible guests. I'm talking. Tripp Fontaine, Ryan Clark. Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing. And we're still chasing it,
Starting point is 00:18:38 and we don't know when we've done enough. Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses. Steve Burns, Dustin Ross. you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth? Are you a good person because you're afraid? Because that's two different intentions, bro. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:18:54 And that's two different levels of trust. I want you to just really be a good person. Join me, Kear Gaines, is we have real conversations about healing, growth, fatherhood, pressure, and purpose on my new podcast, Learn the Hardway. Open your free, our heart radio app. Search Learn the Hardway and listen now. What's up, guys? This is Clever Taylor the Fourth.
Starting point is 00:19:14 And on my podcast, The Cliver Show, I'm bringing you. conversations about all kinds of stuff. Like being an internet famous referee. We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me, he goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What? Quarterback on office blue 42.
Starting point is 00:19:35 Hey, ref, my mama want you to wave at her. What? Where's she at? Hey, Miss Parker. Listen to the Clippers show on the I-Hart Radio app. podcast or wherever you get your podcast. What's up fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm C.J. Toledano and our podcast Point Game is about defining the odds.
Starting point is 00:19:57 Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this. series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like
Starting point is 00:20:23 Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nash would get that thing. That man, hell get the flying. He running up the court licking his fingers while he got the bar like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick. Oh, yeah. Get your ass up and down the court. And, you're going to. You get your ass up and down the court. you're going to get the bomb. So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:20:57 Welcome back, Techie Sports Radio. You know, we play this at the start of the show. Yeah. Why are we playing it now? Why are we playing it now? Because the rock and roll Hall of Fame has picked their new class, and it includes Warren Z-Var. Yes. How about that?
Starting point is 00:21:13 KSR bump. The show gave him the bump he needed. He's been trying to get in. And then 14 years ago, we were like, they're like, they're like, they're playing. playing that on a podcast. Lawyers, Guns and Money, which I saw Zach Bryan sang at Coachella. Did you see that? He did a version of it. Warren Zvon's coming back. There we go. So he's in. Shannon, you're my music guy. I'm going to read you. We're going to play over the course of the show, the people who made it. But I'm going to read you the people that got in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Starting point is 00:21:40 You tell me, should they be in yes or no? Okay. Go. Bad company. Yes. Tom Bell. I don't know who that is. Do you know who Tom Bell is? Do you know who Tom Bell is? No clue. I don't know who that is, but maybe it's like a producer or something. Chubby Checker. Yes. He did the twist, right? How's he not in? He did the twist.
Starting point is 00:22:00 The most famous dances back in the day. The twist is like, do-to-do-do. How was he not in? Yeah, what changed recently? It's like, okay, I guess now we should put him in there. I don't know. Joe Cocker, have a little help with my friend. Which was a Beatle song.
Starting point is 00:22:16 Oh, that's not it? I mean, no, no, no, he did a version of that. You're right. but it was a beautiful song originally. Yeah, because John Belushi, like, saying, yeah, yeah. He's borderline for me. I'll lean, yes, but we're really pushing in here. Yeah, I feel like Joe Cockers.
Starting point is 00:22:29 Does he have any other song with that one? You can leave your hat on. It's up where we belong. Oh, yeah. Is that him too? Yeah. Okay, all right. That's two songs.
Starting point is 00:22:38 Nikki Hopkins. Don't know who that is. Don't know who that is either. Carol Kay. I don't think I know who that is either. I don't know who that is either. Cindy Lopper. I know who that is.
Starting point is 00:22:48 Yeah. Girls just want to have fun. She was a big part of that 80s movement. But would you say, I mean, does she have a song besides girls just want to have fun? Time after time. Oh, that's right. Yeah. The thing that you find out is you really don't have to have that many songs.
Starting point is 00:23:02 Like two is fun enough, you know? Outcast. Yes. Yeah, but I feel like it's almost too soon for them, you know? Yeah, they've been around though a long time. They've been 25 years. Yeah, so I'm good with Outcast. Salt and Pepper.
Starting point is 00:23:15 Shoot, shoot, dude. Yeah. I mean, I'm including all. Yeah. Shoot, da, boo. Yeah. Nobody else going to sing. I like songs.
Starting point is 00:23:22 There you go. All right. Sound garden. Oh, yeah. Of course. 100%. Well, they don't seem like they've been around long enough to be on there. But they've been around since the late 80s.
Starting point is 00:23:31 Yeah. Okay. Lenny Wanker. Not Wanker. That made me giggle. Lennie Warnker. Do you know who that is? No, I don't.
Starting point is 00:23:42 I don't know who that is. The white stripes. Seems too soon, man. I'm not saying they shouldn't be in ever, but how are they already eligible to white stripes? I feel like they're still like, that seems early, doesn't it, Shannon? Yeah. I mean, again, you start thinking, okay, how long have they been active? 1997, that's been 28 years.
Starting point is 00:24:02 So is that when they started was 1997? Yeah, Tom's going by quick, man. We are old. So, yeah. The white stripes started in 1997? Yeah. Oh, my goodness. Okay.
Starting point is 00:24:15 And then Warren Zvon is the last. So that is the, that's the classic. So do they have, you have to be doing it for so many years before you get in? I don't know what the requirements are, but those, that's who got in. All right. So the UK basketball players drew visited town this weekend. Mario, did you take those pictures? Where did you get those pictures?
Starting point is 00:24:37 Somebody sent them to you. On that bridge. Someone posted it. Shout out for whoever posted it. They were at the UK baseball game. It was Jalen Lowe. Cam Williams DeBate
Starting point is 00:24:49 DeBate and Aberdeen Aberdeen so four of our players all there Brandon Garrison broke that news on Thursday Cam Williams posted this place is special Like it's interesting For guys who went to Tulane
Starting point is 00:25:04 And who went to You know I guess Florida and Alabama In theory have good fan bases But they don't care about it as much as we do Yeah It is interesting to see when they get into this environment, how much they love it. It looked like they had a great time. Aberdeen, who just won a
Starting point is 00:25:18 national championship and played three years of Florida. Pretty big athletics program said he can't wait to eventually move here. I think he said he wanted to represent the culture of Kentucky. He's so excited to get started. So, you know, we love last year's team for their appreciation of Kentucky so much. It seems like Pope's already gotten that message across. And even though they're only here for a weekend, they're already starting to feel it. Well, it's going to be another older team, right? Right. Like it feels like it's going to be another group of guys that seem to enjoy being here. You're going to mix in some younger guys. We're going to have four people here who were here for another year.
Starting point is 00:25:49 I mean, if you're just talking about what the fan base would like in terms of a mix of players, having four returning players, some older guys, a couple young studs, I think that's a mix that Kentucky fans really would like. And we've talked about it. We think that's probably the formula that's going to use every single year. I think he finds out that's what works for him. But you had all those four guys coming in their first day on campus, they go to a UK baseball game and get mobbed by the fans.
Starting point is 00:26:15 all wanting pictures and talk to him and stuff. I'm surprised that everybody knew who they were, right? Or maybe you see four guys with a basketball. Well, that helps. Probably be a giveaway. Pope took him over there. Here comes some six-nine, six-teen guys. Whoa, they're not baseball players.
Starting point is 00:26:29 With Pope. But I'm glad he did that. I'm glad they got to feel that. I thought Cam Williams' tweet was actually really nice, and it's good to see our fans, you know, giving them the love before they get here. Yeah, we knew about the visit. You know, we figured they'd see the facilities, get it to our campus. whatever goes into it. But going to the baseball game was a huge step because they actually got
Starting point is 00:26:48 to be out in front of the fan base. Also, it was an awesome day out there, and it seemed like a lot of fans got pictures with them. Here was the tweet. The culture and love that Kentucky has for their players is very special and something I will never take for granted. I was blessed to have my official visit today and honestly can't wait to suit up and play for all the fans. Can't wait to get to work, BBN. That's awesome. If he wrote that, he should be the one writing Shannon Sharps's PR statements because that is like you couldn't ask
Starting point is 00:27:18 for him to say something that is more perfect. Just you reading it, we can all feel it, man, man, that's what it's about. And these guys,
Starting point is 00:27:25 like you said, coming from Tulane, they've never seen anything like this before. And he's just, that's his first taste of it. Wait until we film a Rupp Arena for a big game
Starting point is 00:27:33 and you get to feel that. Carol Kay Shannon was the first and most celebrated female bassist in music history. I feel like I'm missing out that I don't know that name. I'll have to go back and look her up. There you go.
Starting point is 00:27:46 Apparently, Lenny Wanker is not a person. I bet Larry knew who Kelly Kay was then. Not stand-up bass. Oh, I thought you'd be a stand-up bass. Why would you think it would be a... It's the rock and roll hall of fame. That's true. Why would she be a stand-up bass player in the rock?
Starting point is 00:28:03 You didn't think bass guitar? Yeah, base guitar. Yeah, I think in the base stand-up base. They have a lot of stand-up base people, a lot of oboes that make the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a lot of violinists. It would be cool if someone that plays Larry Base got in, but not the case here. Not Larry Wanker. No, not him.
Starting point is 00:28:23 59-280-2287. A story came out that Kentucky, well, it came out for me, but Kentucky, they may be changing around the CBS Classic. I'm going to tell you who's leaving, most likely, and then let's talk about who we should play. Because there's apparently a lot of options. This is a late change in Kentucky's basketball schedule next year. We'll do that right for this. Kentucky Sports Radio.
Starting point is 00:28:48 T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney. Call T.J. He'll make them pay. Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. This is one of like the two or three, like everybody remembers John Belushi for it, right, Shannon? Yeah. I mean, I've gotten our guy, CJ, from Tyler Childers Band, said we were crazy not to say Joe Cocker should be in. he was like definite
Starting point is 00:29:12 I trust his musical knowledge so I'll take him this is one of those songs to stand the test of time you know it no matter what generation I think this is a cool song you didn't have headphones on yeah this is not the part he wouldn't know yeah I feel like you wouldn't
Starting point is 00:29:28 know that song but this is a song that was big before but then I think the Belushi thing made it bigger oh yeah I think that made it to wear it like that's how I know about it you know so Joe Cocker in. This segment is sponsored by cornbread hemp for the cornbread hemp seltzers, which everybody here has tried sold out on the first day. They're going to come back though. You recommend them, right?
Starting point is 00:29:52 Yeah, I ran out of them last night watching TV. I wish I had more. I need to reload. My fridge got emptied pretty quickly on those salted watermelons. Yeah. I think we may end up having them at the bar for like a month and a half or something because I think like July 1st, they're not going to let you do that anymore. So we'll happen for like May and June. But yes, cornbread hemp, you can go to cornbread hemp.com as soon as they come back. I have a present for you all for the three of you, Ryan, Drew, and Shannon. But I'm going to tell you the start of hour two.
Starting point is 00:30:22 What a tease. What a present that I think you all are going to like. It's a present I think it's going to make you happy. Well, like anything you give us. Yes. I think you're going to like this. It's also going to make this week exciting. Okay.
Starting point is 00:30:33 That's your hint. It's going to make this week exciting. The CBS Classic, you don't want us to play in the CBS Classic. No, I've been to all of them maybe. Actually, I didn't go last year. Before that, I've been to all of them. I've never really liked it. The one where we played... The two in Vegas were great. That was the game where Malik Monk went off and then the Oscar Sheeweigh Severe Wheeler game. The two games against Carolina and Vegas were good. I was about to give a caveat. The Carolina games had been good. We have a losing record in the event overall. We have a losing record in the event overall. And that group came down to the wire. But the Ohio State and UCLA games have been a bore. Crowds haven't been good. And we haven't won. Correct. We have a losing record in the event overall. That's crazy. I've enjoyed the Carolina games. The UCLA games have been a drag, and then Ohio State dragged us last year.
Starting point is 00:31:17 Well, there's some grapevine going out there. One of the teams in the CBS Classic, sources tell Matt Jones, is trying to get out of the CBS Classic, UCLA. And so because of that, that would leave an opening. I don't know why they're trying to get out of it, but they are. Kentucky is committed to playing. in it for the next two years.
Starting point is 00:31:42 Right. Carolina is our opponent next year. But the team that was trying to get out of it, UCLA, is, it's trying to get out. And they're also in the same conference. Two teams are in the same conference, right? UCLA and Ohio State now. We don't think about that. That's right.
Starting point is 00:32:00 But that means they can't play each other. Right. So the whole point of playing all three teams, they can't play each other in the event. If they are gone, they are looking for. for a replacement. I'm told the game is to be in Atlanta this year. That's not been announced, I don't think. So maybe that's going to be changed. I don't know. But let's just say it's going to be in Atlanta. And amongst the teams they're looking at, they can't take a big 10 team or an ACC team. So it's either Big 12 or something else. And I'm told the two most likely contenders,
Starting point is 00:32:31 St. John's and Yukon. So here's my question for you. If they add St. John's or Yukon, which one would you rather them add? Not just this year, and we would play whichever team they add this year. But then presumably the rotation continues, you can play them again, three years from now, which one would you rather play? I would easily pick Yukon.
Starting point is 00:32:54 I think they fit better. Just, you know, St. Johns has been relevant in the last year or two, but overall, you know, Yukon's been one of the best teams for several years now. Also... What if I told you this is the only chance we could get to play Rick?
Starting point is 00:33:06 That's all right. Just for the event. I'd like to play Rick, but I think it'd be better for the event to have Yukon. And I hate Yukon. I would love to get them in a game not on their home turf up in the northeast, make them come to the south to Atlanta where they don't have the crowd, and we can get Yukon for losing to them several times. What do you think?
Starting point is 00:33:24 I was definitely with Drew leading to Yukon until you said that this may be the only chance to play St. John. I thought that we were going to try to work out that home and home with them. I don't think that's going to happen. At least not in the next year or two, because there's just not a spot in the CBC. I think as long as you're in the CBS Classic, they don't feel like. Now, I disagree with this. To me, you can make time for what you want, but for budgetary reasons, et cetera,
Starting point is 00:33:43 I think if you're going to do a home-in-home, this is your chance. Maybe when the Gonzaga series ends, maybe you go do something neutral with St. John's, but let's just assume for sake of argument that this is the way to play. Then I would probably pick St. John, just as a fan, I think I want that matchup.
Starting point is 00:33:58 I want that game. But I'm also with Drew, I wish the CBS Classic would go away. I wish they could get out. Why do you hate it so much? Well, wouldn't that free them up to play in like the Maui invitation? No, they don't have anything to do with each other.
Starting point is 00:34:09 Okay, I thought they, the Maui and the Texas. This is, the CBS classic is instead of playing another neutral court game or playing a home and home. The CB, the reason we don't play in Maui is that Bill Kightly champion, whatever classic thing we do. Okay. Which I hate. So that's the one we should get rid of.
Starting point is 00:34:27 In my opinion, we should, but those are three home games. I don't know that they'll give them up. That's true. You know, but so you, you would take. I would tell you, if we're not going to play St. John's home and home, I want, I take them for being the CBS classic. The only way you're going to play St. John's is through the CBS Classic. Give me St. John's. What do you think? See, I'm with Drew. I'm Yukon. I mean, because to me, St. John's is exciting maybe this year. But if this thing keeps
Starting point is 00:34:51 going, when Rick leaves, St. John's a non-entity. How many years, though, is this thing signed on for? I mean, this has been going on a long time. And it makes money. So I got to assume when it makes money, they're going to want to keep doing it. Do you think Kentucky will re-sign after their two years? I mean, this was a Cal thing. So for people who know, the Champions Classic was created by ESPN, but Cala Perry created the CBS class. This was a Cala Perry event. When the Champions Classic started, it was such a good event,
Starting point is 00:35:22 and everybody liked it, that Cal was like, let's do another and we'll be the one team that plays in both. Yeah. Right? Because we are the only team that plays in both. And this also allowed Carolina and UCLA to be in it. And then they just, it was supposed to be Indiana. And then Indiana, I think we, I think the timing is we had that situation up there and they took Indiana out of it.
Starting point is 00:35:44 Put Ohio State in their spot. And we put Ohio State, which Ohio State shouldn't be in it. Should be somebody else. But they beat us. We're 0 and 3 against Ohio State. Yeah. I mean, it doesn't feel like they should be in there. We are 0 and 3 against 3.
Starting point is 00:35:55 We have a losing record in the event that we counted and we're supposed to be a headliner. So to me, Yukon has been such a power. I think it would be fun to once every three years play Danny Hurley. I think it would be fun to play him in Atlanta. I think it would be fun to play him in the garden. I feel like they would try to find a way to play Rick somehow before he's done. But just on a year-in, year-out basis, I think you'd rather play Yukon. I think that's, yeah, number one, everybody would want to play St. John and play Rick in some capacity.
Starting point is 00:36:23 But if this is the only way we're going to get him, I think I would still lean that way. All right. So what about you for the fans? 8-5-9, do the text machine. 7-7-2-7-2-7-4-5-254 just write Yukon, St. John's. All right, is there anybody else in the Big East or Big 12 you'd rather have? Because it can't be an ACC or Big Ten team.
Starting point is 00:36:43 So it has to be somebody in the Big East or the Big 12. I mean, I would love to get rid of Ohio State, too, and replace them with a better Big Ten team. That doesn't seem like it's going to happen. I mean, let's see, you already got Kansas and the other one. Yeah, it can't be Kansas. Yeah. So the Big 12, you're looking at maybe Arizona.
Starting point is 00:37:00 Arizona is probably the only one they would consider. Like, BYU might be fun this year, but you don't know that BYU is going to be good consistently. I don't know if that's a TV rating team. You already play Gonzaga. That's another one popped in my mind. Yeah, if you're talking practically, it probably has to be Arizona or maybe Villanova. Maybe. But Yukon seems to me to be the obvious answer, right?
Starting point is 00:37:27 What about a Houston? I think if you, Houston? Yeah, but again, what do you do if Kelvin Sampson retires at the end of the year? Do you want Houston with the next coach? I mean, you have to, I think you have to think about programs beyond the coach that's there right now. And I just wonder, will Houston be good when Cal, Houston wouldn't be good now, but would they be good in the future? That's the same argument for St. John. St. John's good now, but Patino's not going to be there forever.
Starting point is 00:37:52 What is he? He's 85 years old, whatever he is. UCLA is a good team. I wish that the Big Ten merger, just for the sake of this, they could still be in it. But anytime it's Kentucky Carolina, it's usually the second game and haven't been to these, there is no one at the UCLA Ohio State games. I've been at bars with Kentucky fans waiting and are watching on TV and you see empty seats everywhere. It feels like to me they should drop Ohio State. Find a way to get UCLA to stay. Because if you dropped Ohio State, got UCLA to stay, and then added Yukon, Kentucky Carolina, you just, just, just, Just for sake of argument, if you had UCLA, Kentucky, Carolina, Yukon, you'd have four of the five teams that have won the most titles in the history of the inside. Then it should be called the Champions Classic.
Starting point is 00:38:36 Then you could argue it's more of a Champions Classic than the other one is. Yep. Right? Yeah. Those are the four top teams. You could make, you could see how that would do it. You are so beautiful is also another joke. Oh, that's a great one.
Starting point is 00:38:50 Yeah. So maybe, all right, he should be in. Shannon, you're wrong. I said he was around the cusp. I don't say he shouldn't be. 772-744-5-254. Yukon or St. Johns. We'll take a break.
Starting point is 00:39:01 Be right back. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending. Opinions are flying. And nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo.

Starting point is 00:40:07 I'm talking, Tript Fantine, Ryan Clark. Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing. And we're still chasing it. And we don't know when we've done enough. Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses. Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,
Starting point is 00:40:28 because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth, or are you a good person because you're afraid? Because that's two different intentions, bro. Absolutely. And that's two different levels of trust. I want you to just really be a good person. Join me, Kear Gaines, as we have real conversations about healing,
Starting point is 00:40:44 growth, fatherhood, pressure, and purpose on my new podcast, learn the hard way. Open your free, our heart radio app, Search learn the hard way and listen now. What's up, guys? This is Clever Taylor the 4th. And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff,
Starting point is 00:41:01 like being an internet famous referee. We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker walks up to me, he goes, Hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What? Time out. Quarterback on office blue with 42. Hey, rec, my mama want you to wave at her.
Starting point is 00:41:19 What? Hey, Ms. Parker. Listen to the Cliverts show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas. And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast, Point Game is about defying the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what.
Starting point is 00:41:45 He's the smartest player to ever play the game. His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nasree.
Starting point is 00:42:06 He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nash would get that thing. That man, hell get the flying. He running up the court, licking his fingers,
Starting point is 00:42:22 why he got the ball like, after you go through a training camp with that Isaiah, you figure it out real quick. Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball. So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Salt and Pepper,
Starting point is 00:42:40 I mean, if you're going to have hip-hop music, which I know is a debate we always have about the rock and roll hall thing, but once you've made that decision to have it, are they the most successful female, rappers ever. Were they more so than TLC? Yeah. They were definitely the first. I think they're more so than TLC. TLC maybe have been bigger, Shannon, at their tip top. But Salt and Pippa had a longer career. Yeah, if we're calling it the Music Hall of Fame, absolutely. Yeah. If you're going to call it,
Starting point is 00:43:09 I mean, people hate that it's the Rock and Roll Hall of Day. The problem is call it the Music Hall of Fame, though, is then you're starting to add like classical music, you know, in jazz. And I do feel like rock and roll and rap have more in common than like rock and roll and like Beethoven. But they don't ever put country in though, it seems like it's always it's rock or pop or hip hop, but it's never rap. Well, that's a fair point. You think they should put country in? Well, country has its own Hall of Fame. And I'm saying why does it?
Starting point is 00:43:37 Well, rap has its own Hall of Fame. Does it? It should. I don't know if it does. Yeah, I agree. I just said that with confidence. I don't know if it does or not. Yeah, country.
Starting point is 00:43:48 I mean, that's a good question about. Country is should country be in it. They inducted Dolly. Is Johnny Cash in the rock and roll hot? He is, isn't he? That's country. Willie Nelson is he in? Willie Dolly.
Starting point is 00:43:59 They tried to induct Dolly and she said, I'm not. She did a rock album, which was awesome. Yep. Yeah. That's interesting. Well, the Powerball winner was in Georgetown. $167.3 million. bought at the Clark's pumping shop in Georgetown.
Starting point is 00:44:21 They pumped and they're going to now shop at Georgetown, $167.3 million. As of this morning, I don't think they've said who it is yet. So that means that someone in the Georgetown area has $167.3 million. And not only if they not come out publicly, I don't think it's been turned in yet from what I see. Maybe I'm wrong. But just for sake of this argument, let's say I have the most up-to-date information. And they haven't turned it in yet. What now?
Starting point is 00:44:55 If you're in Georgetown and you bought a lottery, a powerball ticket at that Clark's Pubmit Shop, because they know what store it is. Yep. Are you, like, are you scouring everything to find it? What are you doing? Yeah, because, you know, they've had those things before where they couldn't find the winning ticket. More than likely, they're getting all their legal. steps in order before they go forward, come forward and get it ready.
Starting point is 00:45:19 Do you think people, though, buying lottery tickets think like that? They're like, let's get our legal stuff in order. They should. Okay, I'm not saying they shouldn't. But do you think they do? Do you think they're like, all right, let's call our estate attorney before we start I mean, wouldn't you initially be like, give me my money? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:40 I've only played the lottery a few times, but I'm the person who loses their ticket. So it would probably be me who couldn't find it. Anytime I've ever bought a powerball, it ends up in a, and not that it's a winner, but that ticket disappears in a pair of pants or in my car before they even do the drawing. So I'd be the one that would lose it. Do you think the people in Georgetown? Like, well, you're kind of a Georgetown person. Are people like trying to figure out who this is?
Starting point is 00:46:03 You know they are. You know they are. When they had that where we called them down in South Carolina when somebody won the power bomb, and the whole town kind of got together. But this is Georgetown. This is Georgetown. I can or cannot say if I'm one of those people doing it because heck yeah, I want to know who is doing it.
Starting point is 00:46:18 Or you can or cannot say. You can say you're curious. It's okay. You hook up with yoga girl at her house in Georgetown. And you pump and shop at Clark's shop. I go buy that pump and shop all the time on Connector Road. Have you stopped at that one? Have you ever bought a lottery ticket at that one?
Starting point is 00:46:33 So that could have been you. Could have been me. As soon as I got back yesterday, I talked to Yoga Girl like, hey, have you, did you buy a lottery ticket at the Clark's Pubbing Shop in Georgetown? So that is your Clark's Pumping Shop and Shop? I go to that one. There's one by my house, but I go to that one. So which one is it? It's the connected road. That's the road. That connected road. They call the one that goes by Lowe's and Coles.
Starting point is 00:46:52 Connects what to what? Two roads. What is that? What is that? Paris Pike and Cherry Blossom Way. It connects, you know, it connects two roads. I could have assumed that. I think it connects Paris Pike and Cherry Blossom Way. That's Connector Road. Connected Paris Pike and Cherry Blossom Way. Okay. Low,
Starting point is 00:47:12 BW3s. It's out there next to that BW3. Yeah. Okay. All right. So that one has it. All right. So what do you do?
Starting point is 00:47:22 Let's say you realize it's you. You look and you say, oh my goodness, I've won. Then what do you do? What's the first thing you're going to do, Ryan Limon, when you pull out the ticket that's $167.3 million as Mario gets even closer to your face for this one. Getting that swoop in his visor. Okay, go ahead. I'm not telling us.
Starting point is 00:47:42 soul. You're not even going to tell us. But I'm going to get, I'm calling my attorney first. So which, who you call it? Charlie Gorham. He's the best attorney in Lexington. Charlie Gorham, he's going to handle all my financial. Does Charlie Gorham do estates? He may not, but after I win $167 million, he'll be glad to do it. Okay. So you're calling, you're calling Charlie. And I'm not telling anybody. You're not even going to tell us. No. Are you going to tell yoga girl? I may have already won and you guys don't know it. Are you going to tell the person you're dating? Yeah, I probably would tell her. Okay. Now we see where we rank, Drew. We're below. we're below, even though we've known you longer.
Starting point is 00:48:14 And we'll be here whether this relationship works or not. She's ready to marry you now. You're not telling us and you're telling her. I thought about this too. I'm one of those people that probably would want to even remain anonymous. I don't know if I would want it out there. You can't in Kentucky. You are a public.
Starting point is 00:48:28 Yeah, in Kentucky, you have to say who it is. But you're also a public figure. You think you can win $167 million and all of a sudden you walk in here with clothes that don't have holes on them. Like, you don't think we're going to figure out. I wouldn't change my clothes at all. I would probably still live in the same house. Do you genuinely believe you could win $167 million and no one would know?
Starting point is 00:48:49 For a long time. I think I could keep it quiet for a long time. How? I wouldn't tell anybody. You're not going to spend it? No. You're not going to spend any of it. I would do stuff like pay off my parents' mortgage, pay off my brother's mortgage.
Starting point is 00:49:00 That's the first. That's a first couple hundred, three hundred thousand dollars. And the rest of it, I pocket it. You're not going to travel? I would go on vacation. I would go on vacation now. But you're going to go to the same places. I still go to Panama City Beach for Shannon.
Starting point is 00:49:13 So you're going to win $167 million and you're still going to double up at Shannon's condo in Panama City. We're going to play pickleball. We're going to go to the beach. We're going to hold hands. But you wouldn't want to go to like a five-star resort? I probably would do that. Okay. So then we're going to know.
Starting point is 00:49:31 Well, I've been to five-star resorts before since I've known you guys. My place is a five-star resort. When have you been to a five-star resort? Well, I've been to Cancun, Jamaica. That's not a five-star. The one I, the resort I stayed in, probably five-star. So you stayed in a five-star resort. Yes.
Starting point is 00:49:43 How much was it a night? Well, I don't remember. I don't remember because there's a package deal. It's all-inclusive. Okay, first of all, there are no five-star resorts that are packaged deals, all-inclusive. That's just by definition not what a five-star resort is. Maybe it is in Cancun. Maybe there's a star system's a little different than we have here.
Starting point is 00:50:00 Four and a half. Was it out of ten stars? Maybe. So it was two-and-a-half star resort. You genuinely think you could win that money and people wouldn't know. I would try as hard as I could to keep it quiet. I don't want people to treat me different. I don't want people coming after me.
Starting point is 00:50:14 You think he could win that and not tell us? I may have already won it. I believe he wouldn't buy new clothes. So that wouldn't be a giveaway. I kind of believe he would still stay in Shannon's condo and eat Dagwood sandwiches. But I think this is his mouth. First of all, you buy a new house. I know you would.
Starting point is 00:50:30 You'd buy a new house. I would keep my house at Lexington, but I might buy one down in Florida. And you think you're going to buy a house in Florida and we're not going to know? Sure. Well, you guys would know I bought a house, but how would. you know I got bought it with lottery winnings. When we see that it's worth $10 million. I ain't buying a $10 million house.

You have to publicly. So someone, it would be interesting to live in Georgetown and to know your community and know someone that is amongst you has won $10 million.
Starting point is 00:51:05 There's a floating theory in Georgetown. It's somebody from Toyota. You know, the Toyota people probably. Why is there a floating theory? Because that's a traffic area where people come and go from Toyota. So it's just a gas. Yeah, total gas. What if I told you they already came forward?
Starting point is 00:51:18 Who is it this morning? WKYT has a new story. What's the person's name? James Farthing. James Farthing? Yes. He's local, says he goes to that Clark's pumping shop all the time. James Farthing.
Starting point is 00:51:30 He said, I'm always buying tickets because somebody's got to win. Might as well be me. All right. Looks like an older man. How old is he? It doesn't say, I'm just seeing a picture. Well, congrats to James Farthing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:41 He wants to be our friend. Let's go. You see what to come. Poked him. Go pokey. Does he want to take us to a five-star resort? We'll be right back. Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
