Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.

This is David Eagleman with the Inner Cosmos podcast.
And for Mental Health Awareness Month, we'll talk with singer-songwriter Jewel about anxiety.
I started living in my car and then my car got stolen.
I was having panic attacks.

Your 20s can be so exciting, but they can also be really overwhelming, confusing, and honestly, just kind of lonely.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and the psychology of your 20s is breaking down the science behind the biggest roadblocks we face.
I was six years into my career, the 80-hour weeks, and just the first one in, the last one out, and I ended up burning out.
There was a large chunk of my 20s that I like was just so wanting to like be out of that phase out of my skin.
And I just like really regret not living in the present more.
You don't need to have everything figured out right now.
You just need to understand yourself a little bit better.
Listen to the psychology of your 20s on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.

Welcome to Hour 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Now here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back. Hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio.
859-2-80-22-87.
Text machine is 772-7-7-4-5-254.
Matt, Ryan, and Shannon.
People writing in for Ask Anything Wednesday.
One person says, Matt, don't you think the stoop spiral started with the pony-up comment?
That was a big one.
I don't think it was the biggest, but it was a big thing.
Added to it, didn't it?
It was big for me.
I'd be honest with you.
I thought that was a pretty, pretty poor remark.
That was like three years ago, though.
I mean, it's been a little while since he did it.
One person writes, Matt, I ask you this every Ask Anything Wednesday.
You've never answered.
I'm going to keep asking it until you do.
Who's smarter?
Ryan Lemon or Donald Trump.
Pretty close race.
Pretty close race.
Okay.
So I have to take away the question of like marketing ability.
Uh-huh.
Because I do think Donald Trump.
Trump is one of the best marketers of all time.
Going back to the 80s, he marketed his name as a luxury, like he markets his name.
Right.
And has done an amazing job.
And the reason he is president is he is a very good market marketer.
He's far more consistent than Ryan.
Consistently inconsistent.
So if you include marketing, then I'm saying Trump because he does that one thing better.
than anything Ryan does. That's true. Yes. But if you take out marketing and just did a,
who knows more info. Like an IQ test? Well, I don't know what IQ test measure. I've never taken one.
But like, if you just did a fax test, yeah. I don't know. I think it would be pretty close. Shannon,
who you got? Well, I mean, if Ryan is smarter than our president, then that means Ryan could be president.
So I love you, Ryan. Ryan could definitely be president. No doubt. I love you. Oh, come on. I mean,
Come on.
Trump's smarter than Ryan.
Come on.
I mean, he's smarter than me.
I've not gone bankrupt three times.
First of all, I don't.
Shannon, I would.
He's smarter than I am for sure.
I don't believe that.
Well.
I don't.
Again, we're talking about, like, as a communicator and as a marketer, but if you're
just talking facts.
Yes.
I wouldn't necessarily say that.
I don't know.
You have way too high view of his intelligence.
Do you ever like listen to him speak?
Yeah, but I mean, they're reading teleprompters.
Not him.
You get the unfiltered with him.
Oh, he's like Cutler.
He's unfiltered.
That's exactly right, which is why I worry you're going to leave me for him.
So I don't know.
I'm going to say current events, I'll take Trump because he lives it.
Yes.
History, I'll take Ryan.
That's what I would say.
economics
Trump
Yes
Sports
You
Okay
Culture
Neither of you would do great
Yeah
National geography
National geography
Do you know a lot about
National geography?
I'm kind of question
National geography
He's probably been to more places than you
Yeah
So I would say him
Golf game
Him
He cheats
He's better than you though
You're awful. I'm all. I've played twice this year, though. I'm coming around.
Yeah. Well, I think it'd be close. I'd actually love it.
We had a debate. Not a debate. Because he's a better, like he'd be better.
Well, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
Ryan cannot debate Trump. Trump would slaughter him in a debate.
But Trump doesn't know anything either.
Ryan knows less. Like, he would beat you in a debate because he would just call you names and you would get under the table.
Fair point
No I mean that would have
Trump would be hard to debate
Trump would be very hard to debate
because Shane Gillis does a whole bit about this
about when he debated Rand Paul
because Rand Paul would get up and go
you know was the economy
does this and the free market
and blah blah blah blah
and then Trump would just go
your hair's terrible
Shane Gillis does a whole debate
like what are you supposed to say to that
that's true
When you come back
When you have like all these serious points
and then he goes your hair is terrible
And I think that makes them more likable.
I mean, that's why a lot of people like them because he just has nicknames.
That's like impossible.
In some ways, it's impossible to debate.
Yeah.
If you just go, if I go, Shannon, I believe that the downfall of the Soviet Union began because they spent way too much money on their military.
And you just go, you're a pooper head.
Got you.
Burn.
There's nothing I can do at that point.
You know?
Well, while we're talking about politics, I guess tonight's the big softball game.
Who?
Republicans versus Democrats like their softball game.
Yeah, who you got?
Is it on TV?
I don't know.
I mean, I don't know.
I don't know who's good at softball.
Draft Kings doesn't have a overrunner?
I would love for draft Kings to vet on that.
Minus 135.
Is that on television?
People were playing each other in softball?
Oh, yeah.
Well, one of those things that happens.
Okay, true little behind the scene story.
In 2016, when I was considering running for the House and I went up there and I met with
all the Democrats.
I met with this guy who's last name.
I think was Jefferson.
It's like an African-American guy from Louisiana.
Okay.
And as he sat down, he was like, listen, got a question for you.
This is my only question for you.
Are you good at baseball?
Because back then it was a baseball game.
It was, okay.
Is it not a baseball game now?
I don't know.
I thought it was softball.
Yeah.
Well, back then I think it was a baseball game.
Because he goes, are you good at baseball?
And I was like, eh, because if you're good at baseball, I want you to run.
We need a couple ringers.
So if you're not good,
Don't.
And that was the conversation.
Because he was the captain of the baseball team for the Democrats.
Well, you're a big tall guy.
I mean, he thought you were a first basement.
He thought he was a sports radio guy.
So he was like, well, of course you're good at baseball, but I never really played baseball.
Did you tell you were a pitcher one time and gave up a home run to Ryan Lemon?
That's true.
Wow.
File.
Adam.
Go ahead, Adam.
And Matt, you were talking about role changes coming to college basketball.
And I wanted to give you the scenario and how would you fix it?
So Kentucky basketball, they have a, they're in transition.
They have a layup that is a clear goal tending, but the officials missed the call.
The opponent gets the ball, comes down and hits a three.
They go back to the monitor at the next break.
They say it was a goaltem.
So they give Kentucky two points, but the result of the whole transaction was minus one for Kentucky.
How do you fix that?
I believe you can.
I think so I'm going to talk about the new rules in a little bit.
Let me save that part of it.
Because the new rules I do think are important, but I don't know how you fix it.
The goaltending, allowing them to go back and fix goaltending way after it happens, I think it's a mistake.
It is a mistake.
I think it's a mistake.
I think you, I just, it leads to terrible results.
And when they would call goaltending when it wasn't, and then like, had you not called it, we'd have had a layup.
Right.
But instead it's a jump ball.
Uh-huh.
I hate that stuff.
The decision to go back on goaltending was a mistake, in my opinion, because of what the caller's calling.
It's the flow of the game.
You screw it up.
Yep.
100%.
My mom picks you, by the way.
Oh, thank you.
And says when it comes to decency and being a good person, Ryan is the best.
That trumps Trump.
That doesn't necessarily mean Shannon, she thinks he would win.
Yeah, that doesn't have anything to do with intelligence.
But you're a decent and a good guy.
That's like saying, well, I got this person.
Oh, sorry.
She thought you would be better at that too.
Oh, really?
Look, my mom is your biggest fan.
We're tight.
No, no.
I mean, my mom gets very mad when I give you hard time.
It's all in fun, Mama.
I mean, it's mostly in fun, Shannon, but some of it is also.
That's a daily occurrence.
Yes, Mark Anthony.
Go ahead, Mark Anthony.
Hey, Matt, Ryan, Shannon.
Hey, you know, Matt, there's a difference between disappointment and heartbreak.
And had Vince gone to most anywhere else had been a disappointment, but he has broke my heart.
by going to Louisville.
I just, it's hard to get over.
And my question is, do you have any idea why it is that Ohio was taken from him as his recruiting territory?
Yeah, I don't know.
First of all, I mean, the only person that has said that that I have heard,
is I appreciate the call, is your boy Michael Bennett, is the only person I've heard say that.
He has talked to him, so I don't know if that's.
Michael Bennett's also said some things that ended up.
He also died and came back to life.
Yeah, he also said he was dead and then he was back to life,
which I'm not mocking,
but that does give you a little hurt to your credibility a little bit.
But, yeah, I don't know.
I don't know.
If they did that, that's a huge surprise
because that would be the thing he was the strongest at.
But again, I think we're guessing at this point.
We'll have to wait to see what Mark and Vince saying.
They might say two completely different things, right?
If they're going to, yeah, will they be honest about something like that?
You know, you're pulling back the curtain.
and getting into the weeds about that kind of thing.
Yeah, I don't know.
I hate to see if he wants to come on the show.
Yeah, I mean, but like, well, first of all, he needs to do that.
Yeah.
But he won't do it until there's an official announcement made.
Yeah, I don't think he can't.
I mean, like, he hasn't resigned yet.
So what's Vince, what's Mark going to say?
Right now, technically still works.
Still works for UK.
Should be out recruiting today.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I have a feeling.
I have a feeling it will get a little nasty.
I mean, neither of those two are known to not throw jabs.
Yeah.
We'll see.
Well, this was a body blow.
So far they haven't.
Yeah, but so far no one's made a public statement except, except Vince replying to Nick Roush.
Is this just a sign of respect?
They don't want to come out with a statement against each other?
There's not.
This is what I keep saying.
This is what I used to say to Cal.
Not talking is not an option.
because y'all are going to have to do press conferences.
Like, you're going to get asked about this stuff.
The question is just when do you want to answer it?
You want to answer it now or do you want to answer it a month from now?
And then in that month have people fill in the void with their opinions.
So we'll get a statement Friday at 1205 after our show on Friday.
You know, I mean, I didn't realize Mark Stoops did a radio interview yesterday morning.
Oh, he did?
And A, the host didn't ask him about this.
What do they talk about?
I mean, how do you bring Mark Stoops on the morning after?
It was on C.C.
Radio.
Oh, my God.
How do you bring Mark Stoops on the day after Vince leaves and not ask?
You think they told the guy you can't ask Stoops about?
Well, then you say I'm not bringing you on.
I've done that.
Yeah.
I've done that multiple times with Cal and Stoops.
I asked them to come on.
They said, I can't talk about this right now.
And I said, well, then I can't have you on.
You can't bring somebody on and not ask you.
them that question. Especially not yesterday.
Right? So, I mean,
but anyway, I guess one of the things Mark said
is I don't want to make any headlines.
I mean, once you start
saying that, Mark, what are you?
You don't want to make any. You're the coach
in Kentucky. You don't have a choice
but to make headlines. The hero leader
right now is only food restaurant
stories and UK sports. That's it.
Coach Dupes has said several times
he doesn't want to make headlines. He doesn't want to say
something again.
headlines and when you go
Stoops' best quality
is his sort of swash buckler
bring it here we go guy
right? If you take that away
and try to be a robot
you take away what is
the person's
that's what I hate when politicians
do that they have these big personalities and then they get
on there and they go
back to Trump
that's what he's good at. He's always himself
Bernie's good at that. He's always himself.
Be yourself.
Stoops needs to be himself.
And the idea of I don't want to make headlines is a terrible way to be, isn't it?
Yeah.
When he comes on here, he's usually himself, more so than he's standing behind a podium in a news conference situation.
Yeah, but he wasn't as much the last time he was here.
No, he wasn't.
Because he's like, I don't want to make a headline.
Yeah.
Make a headline.
That's what you're here for.
You're our leader.
We kind of need that right now.
Terry, go ahead, Terry.
Cicadas, be gone by July 1st.
Just bear with it.
Be gone by July 1st.
Hey.
A World Series bet you can make, get a little money.
Coastal Carolina, kind of my upset special there.
And as far as Vince, my parents always taught me if you can't say anything good about somebody,
don't say anything, don't say anything at all.
He's the greatest popcorn eater I've ever seen.
That's true.
And Frito's, he was great at it.
Appreciate the call.
I mean, I'm not getting too excited.
Well, I'll save this because I want to get a little bit excited.
Tell me about Stockton Mortgage.
Stockton Mortgage.

Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me, he goes,
hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue 42.
Hey, ref, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Where's she at?
Hey, Miss Parker.

What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this.
series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like
Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has to give us everything he gives
us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nass would get that thing. That man, hell get to fly. He
running up the court licking his fingers while he got the bar like, after you go through a training
camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick. Get your ass up and down the court. And
you're going to get the balls.

On our podcast, inside American soccer,
you'll get the real storylines.
I'm not worried about Policic.
I'm not worried about Balagan.
I'm not worried about McKinney.
My only concern is what happens in the back.
The biggest decision,
If you're going to look at stats and numbers, he has no shot at making this World Cup team.
And the truth about the U.S. national team.
It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals or potentially a great run into the semifinals.
The World Cup is almost here. Experience it all with us.
Listen, Inside American Soccer with Tom Bogart and Tab Ramos on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, wherever you get your podcast.
Who's this?
Pink.
Pink!
Mr. President, you don't remember this one?
No.
That wasn't a big hit.
You can see why.
Yeah, I can see why.
What bears right.
Matt, you're such a hater.
I try to look past your lib comments.
Sometimes they make me mad.
Of course Trump is smarter than Ryan.
Well, I think you're a Ryan hater.
Yeah.
Come on.
That's a put-down Ryan.
Is that for my mom?
Then they go far to say,
you always say people aren't smart.
Why don't you give me conservatives
you think are smart,
or do you not have it?
Oh, they're a conservative.
served as they're smart. Ben Shapiro is smart. Ted Cruz is smart. Elon Musk is smart. Insane,
but smart. Who else? Markle Rubio is smart. Yeah. Yeah. There are smart people. They're also
dumb people. And by the way, our side has dumb people too. I mean, I'm... A dumb people, smart people
smart people everywhere. Our side's got... It's like, there are good people that are Republicans and there are
bad people. There are good people that are Democrats and there are bad people. And they're smart and not
smart. The question was Trump and Ryan. Yeah. What a battle.
Battle of the wits. Championship belt at stake. I would pay to watch that on television,
I would say. I'm not saying the Reds are the best team. Oh, here we go. In baseball.
You just said the other day you've given up on them. That was last week, but they're back.
Now, they're going to lose today. If you want to make a draft king's bet, they're going to play at
one o'clock. They're going to lose today. They're going to lose today.
Is it a bullpen game or something?
Well, no, it's just, you know, sometimes I feel it.
Uh-huh.
They've won five in a row.
Can I give you two stats that are impressive, Shannon?
Oh, we'll love to hear a red stat.
They've won, they've won three, they've won five in a row three times this year.
The Reds.
The Reds.
And there are only three teams in baseball who haven't been swept in a series yet this year, Shannon.
Let me guess.
Oh, the Dodgers.
Best team in baseball.
The Yankees.
And I'm guessing the Reds.
And the Reds.
They've never been swept.
Have it been swept?
Wow. They've swept a few teams, but never been swept.
They haven't been swept. So they won the Ohio Cup for the first time since 2019,
which Shannon I didn't know was a thing. Did you know there was an Ohio Cup where they play
Cleveland and whoever wins gets a cup? Wow. That has to be a recent thing for the longest
time. They didn't do interleague play. Exactly. They didn't play. But it's starting to get excited.
Terry Francona starting to play the right lineups. Andrew Abbott threw 110 pitches last night.
Complete game shut out. That never happens anymore. Never.
What did you think? You guys appreciate good plays.
What about that Fraley catch?
That's one of the best catches I've ever seen.
Awesome.
Awesome.
He was the pregame interview guy, too,
talked about his daughter that has cancer.
You can't help but like the guy.
Then he goes out and makes this great play last night.
Did you see that catch, Shannon?
I did.
Yes.
That's a heck of a catch, isn't it?
Great catch.
Not the best catch this year.
The Oakland Athletics catch.
The Oakland Athletics got.
Had to be the best one of the year.
So when did the Reds start playing the Yankees and these tough series?
Well, they play the Tigers this weekend, and they're the best team in baseball.
which people don't realize, but the Tigers
Yes, they are.
So they play them this weekend.
This weekend.
They play the Yankees in about 10 days.
I'm selling my tickets.
They play San Diego.
They start playing good teams.
Good teams coming.
Well, Cleveland was decent, but we've beaten them five straight times.
Now, next week, they might be gone again.
But right now, for today,
you're back.
You're back on board.
Freebird.
Go ahead, Freebird.
Hey, guys.
I was up at your studio was yesterday.
Man, you all got a very, very nice setup there.
Mario and Rachel got me a security clearance.
And I like Ryan's conspiracy theory, and I got another one for you.
Stoops has gone after this year, and he's going to go to Louisville to be the defensive coordinator.
That would be the –
Wow.
I appreciate the call.
I think when Stoops leaves here, I think he will retire.
I mean, he's going to have enough money to do whatever he wants.
And he's got a very successful bourbon business going right now.
he can retire and still live a very, very comfortable life.
Yeah.
If I made you bet, is he the coach next year or not, year after this?
Made you bet yes or no, what would you say?
I would probably say no.
Yeah.
You put your money on no.
I would, you know, the fact that he was sniffing with Texas A&M just two years ago, the bad year last year,
I think they're going to have a bad year this year.
I would say, man, I get fired.
I think he may step away voluntarily.
But just won't be the coach, Shannon.
I think he will be back at least more and more year.
No, I mean, after this one.
After this year.
Okay, so yeah, I'll say he's back for another year.
So you think it's at least two years?
I think he's there another two or three years.
Okay.
What do you think?
If you made me bad, I would say no.
Yeah.
I think it's going to be a tough year.
I think we're not going to do well.
And I think this fan base is going to be.
rough.
The water was starting to get hot last year after last season.
It can't win an SEC game at home.
Is that a phrase?
The water was getting hot?
You know, the boiling water.
But isn't it the seat?
Well, it could be water, too.
The seat's hot, the water's hot.
I could be wrong.
And you ever heard the phrase, the water is getting hot?
No, no.
Seats getting hot.
Maybe we should start using it.
I don't know if that's a phrase.
Boiling water.
It is today.
So you have, right now, you have Mark Pope just sitting in a...
Mark Stoops.
Or, excuse me, Mark Stoops sitting in a tub of water.
And the water's getting hot.
Yeah, water's getting hot.
But he's all, he's in the hot water.
You got to get out of the hot water.
He's about to be cooked, is what you're saying.
Yeah, got to get out of there.
His skin is pruning.
Yeah.
Okay.
All right.
David, go ahead, David.
Yes.
Now, I just tuned into the second half of your show, but how good would my, I, I,
How highly would you rank this incoming basketball incoming in this year?
And then the second question.
You mean like a preseason ranking?
Like a preseason basketball ranking?
Okay, yeah, go ahead.
What's your second?
Right, with the transfer.
And the second question, I know absolutely nothing about law or politics.
But with Trump being in his current office position,
how is it not considered some type of conflict of interest with all his business
investments on the side?
Well, I don't like to get into it.
I appreciate the call.
to get into the second one because then it'll just become a political show.
I talk about some of that stuff on my Thursday, Matt Jones show night and podcast.
So I'll put that one off.
On the first one, I think Kentucky, if I'm going to put them in a preseason poll, fifth, fourth, sixth, something like that.
I think you look at it.
Purdue's got more coming back.
Houston, maybe Florida.
But I think you're, you get in that, that.
next range of teams that on paper look good and you just have to see what happens,
I think Kentucky's on that list.
So if I were, again, I don't claim to know every team's roster up and down, but I would say
fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, that's where I would put Kentucky preseasoned.
Same. Top eight. I think they're definitely an elite eight level type team coming in.
It may play better than that. But as of right now preseason, I'm going, yeah, top eight.
it's just so much is going to come down to how good is how good is Jalen Lowe.
Jalen Lowe's elite, then we got a shot at winning the whole thing.
If he's not, then I think it's going to be a team a little better than last year,
but a similar kind of inconsistency.
But you give me elite Jalen Lowe and then bring on anybody.
and he'll eat Jalen Lowe, and if one of these guys
becomes a knockdown shooter.
But I feel like amongst all these guys, we'll get the other stuff.
Yeah, I think so.
Somebody will end up good.
But Jalen Lowe kind of has to be good.
We'll be right back.
T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney.
Call T.J. He'll make them pay.
Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.
So you're probably trying to say, Ryan, that he was in hot water.
Yes. Hot water. The water's getting hot.
Yeah. That's not exactly how you say it, but that's probably where your mind was.
We have some people on the text machine who translate Ryan to English pretty well.
That's good.
Like they hear a Ryan phrase and they're able to tell me, I think this is what he means.
That makes sense. He's in hot water. I've definitely heard that one.
One person writes, Matt, shut up about the Reds and acting like they're good.
They're in fourth place in the NL Central.
Well, I think you're in fourth place in the NL Central.
Fourth out of five teams, I believe.
That's okay, though.
because they don't have to win the NL Central.
They just have to get to the wild card.
We're three and a half back from the wild card.
And we're not even halfway through the season.
But you got the tough, tough series coming up.
Yeah, but we're starting to hit.
We're starting to slug.
We'll see how you feel next week after the Tiger series.
I still understand why Matt McLean's the worst player.
He shouldn't be.
Why is he the worst player?
He shouldn't be.
He was so good.
Yes.
And he just, he hits like 180.
It's just not working for him this year for some reason.
Have you ever had a player in a sport that objectively you know isn't good but you still love?
Because the Reds have one of those guys for me.
Will Benson stinks, but I still like him and I root for him.
I think I, there's something about left-handed baseball players.
Your swing is awful sweet.
Don't you think?
I don't know why it is, but left-handed baseball players.
Sweet swing.
It's just like going back to Griffey.
You know, there's just something about the lefties.
And so that's part of why I like Ellie.
I like Ellie from the left.
Will Benson.
Did you ever have a guy like that, Shannon?
Has there ever been a Kentucky player?
Like, objectively, wasn't very good, but you liked him more than how good he was.
Jared Prickett had a great freshman year, but after that he was just frustrating to watch.
That's a good one.
That's a good one.
Mine was Razor Ramon Harris.
Yeah.
Not particularly good, but I would, I'd go to bat for Razor Ramon Harris.
What about you?
You got one?
No, those are two really good ones.
Just somebody that, you know, you liked them a lot more than they were good.
Text machine, maybe you all have one.
772-745254.
Have you seen the videos of DeMarcus?
Yes, I did.
I did.
It's done for the season.
Done for the season.
Where is he in Puerto Rico?
Puerto Rico.
Well, I will tell you this.
That dude, so there's two videos.
There's one of him, like, being ejected and being held on the ground.
that's amazing they were able to hold him down.
But the one I can't believe is the other one,
where he confronts the guy in the crowd.
That's what I've seen.
Shannon, I cannot believe that guy had the audacity to think.
Would you look at DeMarcus cousins and do what that guy did?
No, he was right there in the front.
I mean, right there on the floor.
Security may get him at some point,
but you're going to get destroyed before that.
Yeah, no.
People have a lot of gumption in this world.
to look at, I don't even care what he was saying to him.
If DeMarcus looked at me like DeMarcus looked at him, I'd run.
6-11 dude staring you down while you're sitting there.
Get out.
DeMarcus one time said something to me on Twitter and I was scared.
Remember that?
Like when Cal left, he said something to me on Twitter.
And I was like, okay, do I need security?
Like, DeMarcus, I was looking around while I was reading my tweet.
He's like, you hear?
He's not a guy you want to mess with.
Yeah, I love DeMarcus, but I would not want to mess with it.
Especially when he's not mad, right?
You mean mad?
Yeah.
No way.
Well, I wish him the best, man.
Yeah, I feel bad for the year.
I love that guy and it's just always feels like he's been like one step short of what.
Do you feel like his temper really hurt him and get other jobs?
He's got a huge temper.
I mean, but he's got a good heart.
No, he does.
does have a good heart. I mean, I've been at his wrath. I was in his wrath when he was here once.
There's that video. You remember that picture of him grabbing me around the neck?
No. You remember that? He did out of love, but I also was a little nervous. He grabbed me out of my neck and goes, don't you have these people calling me Carl. Yeah. He was blaming you for that. Well, he was right to. We were calling him Carl. And he had his hand around my neck. There's a picture of it. Somebody took it from behind. And they were like, he was like, I love you, bro.
But if people start calling me Carl, so I was walking around, don't call him Carl.
Don't call him Carl.
No Carl.
So, yeah, I wish him the best.
I think he's a good dude.
Just got a temper, which happens sometimes.
Dan, go ahead, Dan.
Yeah, hey Matt, Dan from Rocky Mountain.
I got two things real quick.
The main thing in this world, Ryan, is your moral standing.
You got a good moral standing.
The other guy's, you're a 10.
He's a minus 10.
Second thing is, if we,
have a 500 football team this year and beat Louisville,
well all this stuff about Vince will be forgotten.
That's great point. Yes. If he wins, I said this on Cole Kublich's show this morning.
Nice to hear from you, Dan. Appreciate to call. If we go six and six, people will forget about Vince,
especially if it's six and six and beat Louisville. Yep. Well, just two seasons ago.
That's exactly what happened. Five and six going into the Louisville game at Louisville,
heavy underdog. The seat was hot for stoops. He was in that hot water. They won the game.
It all disappeared. Same thing would.
happened this year. And we would get to
laugh at Vince. Yep. Which I think
fans would enjoy. No, no, no, no.
Would enjoy. So, yeah,
you're exactly right. It would be
that would make it fine.
Farrell. What's up, Farrell? Or Farrell.
Which one is it?
Farrell.
Farrell. Okay.
Yes. I would also say
friend of the show, J.D. Vance is also a smart
Republican. Yes, he is smart.
Yeah. And I would, former friend
of the show, but yes.
definitely a smart guy that's true
so
Miami played Florida last year
and beat them
Miami's walking off to the visitor's locker room
and they're taunting the kind of recruits
they walk right by the recruits
and there's a lady kind of pushing them away
she was the
this might be a moot point now obviously
but she turned out to be the
assistant athletic director in charge of recruiting
and I always thought that would be perfect fit for Vince Marrow at the school because he's
Well, no, I thought that's where he would end up.
I thought at some point he would transition into that role.
I did.
So that's part of why I was surprised he did this.
My thought was at some point he would just move into like an ambassador slash recruiting role at UK
and then I guess he's taking a role like that with Louisville.
Yeah, yeah.
It's a big disappointment.
It's not here.
because I always wanted that for him.
And it's just tough.
He'll wish, I appreciate the call.
He'll wish he had kept that.
I really believe that.
At some point,
the first couple years may go great.
And I know he's friends with Jeff Brom.
I think that's a big part of this.
It is a big part of it.
They played together in the XFL.
Is that right?
Yeah, I think so.
Yep.
For the Birmingham what's?
Sure.
No idea.
Renegade.
Barrens was their minor league team.
Yes.
can anybody name Birmingham's old
XFL team where Jeff Brom
and Vince Merrill played?
Renegades is a good guess
because that was one of the nicknames of one of the teams.
Let's see.
Vince,
you sure wasn't the Orlando Rage
we're talking about, 2001?
Could have been the Orlando Rage.
Yeah.
I thought they, but Jeff Brom played in Birmingham
because he played, he was the MVP
of the first year of the XFL.
Brom wasn't with the Rage at all, ever?
I haven't kept up with the Rage's roster
over the year.
You weren't Rage's roster?
It was possible that at some point he ended up with the rage.
Yeah.
I don't know.
Vince also played for the Frankfurt Galaxy from 97 to 98.
I don't even know what that is.
That's in Germany.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's the Europe.
Vince played in Germany.
So if there were teammates, it would have to be Orlando because that's the only year that Vince played in the XFO.
Gotcha.
Let's go to Nadia.
How are you, Nadia?
I'm good.
How are you, Matt?
Good.
What's going on?
Well, I was calling to me.
make my case for you guys to come to my house and do the show, but are you not doing that
segment right now?
We aren't doing it today.
No, I'll tell you what, though.
Ryan, write down what she says, because we're going to do it tomorrow and we'll let you,
Nadia, have your case in the books, okay?
Okay.
All right.
I have four points.
Please hear me out, all right?
We got 30 seconds.
First of all.
Okay, I'm from Bangladesh.
So when you come to my house, you will start off the tea and coffee of various range.
and then that will be followed by a brunch of both the Southern and Bangladeshi cuisine.
Second point, I'm probably your only Bangladeshi female fan.
Okay.
We're a huge customer at a bar.
That's my third point.
And finally, we just have a little humble apartment.
We're empty nesters.
Our son is a Sigma Nuet UK.
So there's my case.
We would love to have you guys here.
All right, Nadia.
I promise you a good thing.
That's perfect.
All right, Nadia, hang on.
Get Shannon get her number because we'll use her as contest at one.
when we do this tomorrow.
All right.
So hang on, Nadia.
He'll get it.
Bangladeshi food is good.
You ever have Bangladeshi food?
I'm not.
But anytime somebody's going to feed me, I'm voting for them.
So we're going to the retirement community tomorrow.
Correct.
Correct.
Yes.
Just me and you.
Yes.
And Mario.
Mario's going, okay.
Me you and Mario.
You ready?
We're set up.
They're ready for us.
They're bringing in all the, Shannon.
This is going to be, this is a place where people have like condos, right?
It's like a condo retirement community.
So all the neighbor.
retirees are going to come to the show.
Shannon, we're going to be with the retirees tomorrow.
And Shannon's on the phone.
He's getting the number.
But that should be exciting.
Our first venture into somebody's house.
Here we go.
Yes.
Me, you and Mario.
And the retirees.
We'll miss you, Shannon.
Don't miss your chance to win big while supporting a great cause with Commonwealth

Ooh, really?
Sounds like.
And we're going to do a test.
Very exclusive.
Very exclusive.
Yeah.
Like, watch out Mark Stoops.
The scoop or scuttle butt?
It's scoop butt.
Scoop butt.
We'll be right back.
KSR.
Last night, a blown call changed the game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind.
Highlights are trending, opinions are flying,
and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where Sports Slice comes in.
I'm Timbo.
Every episode, we're cutting through the noise.
Breaking down the plays, the controversies,
and the stories behind the headlines.
We go straight to the source, the athletes themselves.
Their locker room stories, their reactions,
the stuff nobody gets to hear.
The laughs, the drama, the triumphs,
the moments that never make the highlight real.
From viral moments to historic games,
from buzzer beaters to controversial,
calls, we break it down, give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants answered.
SportsSlice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them.

And on my podcast, The Cliverts show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker walks up to me, he goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out of my.
Quarterback on office blue 42.
Hey, ref, my mama wants you to wave at her.
What?
Where's she at?
Hey, Ms. Parker.
Listen to the Clifford Show on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
What's up, fam?
This Isaiah Thomas.
I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us
on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court, licking his fingers
why he got the ball like,
after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah,
you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court,
and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the,
I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
American soccer is about to explode.
The World Cup is coming.

I'm Tom Boe.
On our podcast, inside American soccer, you'll get the real storylines.
I'm not worried about Polic.
I'm not worried about Balagan.
I'm not worried about McKinney.
My only concern is what happens in the back.
The biggest decisions.
You're going to look at stats and numbers.
he has no shot at making this World Cup team.
And the truth about the U.S. national team.
It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals
or potentially a great run into the semifinals.
The World Cup is almost here.
Experience it all with us.

Welcome back. Final segment with KSR.
Thunder and Pacers tonight.
Trap Kings, bet five with $200.
if your, or $300 if your bet hits,
go to draft kings, use my promo code KSR,
bet $300, get $300 if your draft hits.
You can get, you can bet on the NBA draft.
Futures for college football, basketball,
is draft kings, bet five, win $300 if your bet hits.
Thunder and Pacers, the Thunder are a five and a half point favorite tonight.
At Indiana, who would you take?
Indiana, they're going to win the game,
let alone being a five and a half point underdog.
Thunder by 13.
Oh, wow.
Wow.
In Indianapolis.
I think Indiana gets this one and then things get really interesting.
I agree with Shannon.
All the pressure then shifts on to Oklahoma City.
13.
I'm going to actually bet exactly that.
Thunder by 13.
Exactly.
Really good odds for that.
Maybe.
If it's exactly 13.
Exactly.
No, I'm betting it's going to be 13.
You know, I've always wondered why there weren't more PACER fans in Kentucky.
Indiana is the closest NBA team to Kentucky and yet we're still not a lot of
Pacer fans here.
I cheer for the Knicks and wherever Kentucky guys are.
I can get that.
And they're in Oklahoma City.
Yeah.
So.
We got Isaiah Jackson on the Pacers.
Of course, he's hurt.
What happens?
Is he hurt?
He's hurt.
Yeah.
Did he play before he was hurt?
He did earlier this year, but he's been hurt for quite a while.
Okay.
Thunder by 13.
Boo.
Did you write it down?
Yep.
If they went by 13, you don't want a lot of money.
By the way, I didn't get the college basketball rules.
We'll talk about it tomorrow.
Monday night, I do want to tell this.
There was a guy from my fellowship that was in from Miami.
Right.
In Louisville for a conference.
There was the National Parking Conference, which sounds awful.
Did you know Louisville hosted the National Parking Conference?
No.
What is that?
An entire four-day conference for people to talk about parking.
God.
That sounds terrible.
That sounds awful.
What about it?
Louisville hosted it.
Kentucky.
We welcomed the world's parkers to Louisville.
Anyway, we went to dinner Monday night, and I wanted him to see the neighborhood.
So he went to the Eagle, which is close to my house.
We were eating.
I was talking to him.
I hadn't seen him.
I mean, I saw him in Amsterdam, but I guess, you know, he never been in Kentucky.
I'm telling him about Kentucky.
He's asked me all these questions.
All of a sudden, he just looks at me, like out of nowhere and goes, hey, could you
drive me back downtown because there's a parking reception tonight?
I said, sure.
So we're walking to my car.
We just get up and walk to my car.
And then I realize, as I'm about to drop him off downtown, what I was going to say to him is, okay, when I'm in Miami, you pay.
Yeah.
And as I'm saying that, I realized, I hadn't paid.
Oh, no.
And neither had he.
We had just walked out of the restaurant.
I don't, you know, I was so engulfed.
Like, he had just randomly said, let's go.
Yeah.
And I didn't think to pay.
And Shannon, I'd walked out on this bill.
And now I'm starting to panic a little bit.
Because I can see the Facebook, Matt Jones walked on his bill.
Who does Matt Jones think he is?
Matt Jones walks out on the bill.
Yeah.
Because the waiter had already said like, hey, I'm a Louisville fan.
Oh.
No.
So I'm thinking, like, I got to get back to the Eagle.
Yeah.
Right?
But it's about the time they close, Shannon.
You know?
so I like jump in the car try to call nobody answers.
I'm like speeding through Louisville trying to get there to pay my bill.
I run in and they go, well, we wondered if you were going to come back.
And I said, I am so sorry.
I didn't think about it.
I got this.
And I was like going to give me a big tip.
I gave him like a big tip.
I was like, I am really so sorry.
You know, I really apologize.
I said, this probably happens, though, all the time, right?
And he said, worked here four years, never.
So, thankfully, if it had been 20 minutes later, it'd have been closed.
Wow.
Then it would have been posted on Facebook that night.
And I would have been mortified.
Good for you, though.
It shows you good fetching's up.
You went back to pay your bill.
What was that word?
Fetching's up.
What does that mean?
You had good raising.
Your parents raised you right.
Fetchins up.
Yeah.
You ever heard that show?
Never heard that before.
Is that a real word?
Of course, he's smarter than our president, you said.
So maybe we're the dumb ones here.
Fetchins up.
All right, Gary, go ahead, Gary.
Yes, I don't know if this has been covered or not.
But with Vince being here for spring practice, what does that do for the football team?
Big point.
I mean, he knows, like he's going to have an inside scouting.
That's a great point, Gary.
appreciate the call.
I'm not sure you could know more about a team than he will know.
He literally was at spring practice.
You have to change all the signals.
Oh, what if we don't?
Remember that game?
Well, we didn't do that with Shannon Dawson.
Yeah.
They had to change everything.
They didn't even bother changing the signs.
How does that happen?
Well, that might be far.
It did happen.
It did happen.
Jenny, go ahead, Jenny.
I'm here with my dad, and something cool to happen is,
we met Tyrese Halliburton and he gave us autographs and I just want to say
cases are better than Thunder all day.
Preach it.
There you go.
Call a day.
That's not some Tyre's Halberton.
It's weird.
It seems like people of the NBA hate Tyreys Halliburton, but like I always hear he's good
with people.
Yeah.
He's hit some.
He's not overrated.
All right.
Thank you, Jenny.
Appreciate it.
He's hit some monster shots.
He's not played particularly well, but then at the end, he hits the shot.
Yeah.
He hit the shot.
that big shot. Nico, go ahead and Nico.
Hey, I had a different question, but now I'm just going to say that Jenny kid or whatever,
he's a fool, you know, it's thunder and six all day long.
Wow, who knew that was going to happen? What's your other question, Nico?
My other question was, I know you're a W.W.E fan, and it was just two people from Kentucky,
a basketball and a football player to put into the Royal Rumble to try to win.
To win? Appreciate the call.
Yeah.
win the Royal Rumble, Shannon, basketball and football player.
Dion Walker.
It'd be hard to get him over the top row.
That's what I'm saying.
Yeah, you've got to go over the top rope.
It'd be hard to get him off the top rope.
Yep, basketball player.
Cash Daniel, he knows how to do it.
You've got to pick cash.
Probably DeMarcus has got to be in conversation.
After seeing that DeMarcus video, you'd already go against DeMarcus.
Yeah, he would be a good wrestler.
Yes, he would.
He's a big.
He's got a big personality.
He scares me from a false.
You got to be a little bit on the crazy side.
Be a good fighter.
Yeah.
DeMarcus and Cash Daniel or DeMarcus and Dionne Walker, those are good picks.
I'm taking those guys.
Taking them.
I mean, Cash is so huge.
He's a monster now.
Is he doing well?
Yeah.
He's doing great.
But he's huge.
He's got muscles.
His muscles have muscles.
That's right.
Like they are, he is massive.
But yeah, DeMarcus is.
a way to go. All right. So tomorrow we are at the retirement community.
Yes. Looking forward to that. Yes. And then Friday, where are we?
Is that open to the public? I don't think it is. I'm not sure about that. We just got the
address. Before you say, we got to make sure it's open to the public. It's in Lexington,
but I don't know if it's open to the public. Either way, thank you all very much for listening.
We will see you tomorrow. It's been Kentucky Sports Radio.
Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite,
on Humor Me with Robert Smygel and Friends,
me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, S&L's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
