Starting point is 00:02:53 You can give us a shout on the Clark's Puppet Shop phone line. We'll be taking your calls, 859.9. 280 2287. A Vision Auto Glass Text Machine 772-774-5-254. And this edition is sponsored by the T.J. Smith-Lawvis. If you call T.J. He'll make them pay in studio today on a slow July day. I was in Cincinnati last night, set through a rain delay, watch the Reds get one hit. That's two straight games. They've only gotten one hit, which very rarely do you win games when you only get one year. Very rarely. But watch some lose to the Marlins.
Starting point is 00:03:25 it was bark in the park day. So they had that every week now? I feel like that happens way too often. They didn't bring as many dogs yesterday, I think, because it was raining. And so I guess dogs, I don't know, they'd not like rain. What do they do? I don't know. I'm shocked there was another bark in the park.
Starting point is 00:03:42 I felt like it was two weeks ago you had a barking in the park. I think they have them like every couple, you know, every few days. Just get a dog. I got to say this to the red stadium. They got the worst food of any baseball stadium. I've been to a lot of baseballs. I counted. they're what 30 major league baseball teams i think i've been to 21 stadiums and reds have the worst
Starting point is 00:04:02 food they're they might be the worst stadiums for food are the reds and the yankees which you would think the yankees yeah no kidding would have really but they don't have good food either and sometimes the best stadiums are not in places you would think like pittsburg's got a great stadium yeah even though they stink they got a great stadium uh last time i went to a reds game I might have shared this already, but the woman, as she went to take my order at the food place, quit her job, walked away. The guy cooking hot dogs is like, I don't know, man. And he just started me handing hot dogs off the grill. So, yeah, I actually enjoy the Reds culinary experience.
Starting point is 00:04:36 Yeah, they just don't have as many. There's not as many good choices. Stadium's awesome. Yeah, it is. But it's like, Skyline, Chick-fil-A. You get a big red smoky when you go to a Reds game. But that's at every game. Every game has a hot dog.
Starting point is 00:04:47 You say that every time we talk about the Reds. There's not a baseball stadium in America where you can't. can't get a hot dog. But the big red smoky in Cincinnati is like the best. What's the difference? It's just a hot dog. It's a big red smoky. It's a smoky. That's, is there something on it? No, it's nothing. It's the same as everything else. It's fine. But like the Mets, you've been in the Mets. They've got like one of the best stadiums ever seen. They got everything. They got like every kind of restaurant, every kind of foo foo, shmoo smoo, stuff. I mean, they have everything. When we went to Arizona, the Diamondback Stadium, all kinds of different food.
Starting point is 00:05:20 Never been there. To tacos and nacho. Who's we? Did you have a mouse in your pocket? I mean, I went by myself, but you were in Arizona. And, well, anyway. I missed our old baseball tour to put a bow on that. We used to do that.
Starting point is 00:05:33 I was thinking about that while I was at course, Phil last week. Good trip. This summer's been a little hectic in terms of everybody not being here, but I'd love to do a trip where we go to the stadiums again. I think we've figured out the date for our December trip. We're going to go down to St. John to the Atlanta. St. John's game. So we're going to tour the South this December. We've never really toured the South, actually. We've gone to pretty much every part of the country except the South. And the
Starting point is 00:06:00 games in Atlanta? Games in Atlanta. So we'll leave, probably do like Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana. States to this. We haven't done a lot of those states. Are you excited about that, Shannon? Get to see Mississippi in December. I think we could dip into Florida while we're there too. I'll say Shannon's condo. We should do that. Go to his place. St. Shannon's place. The good thing about that is it won't be as cold as sometimes it is on some of our other trips when we go up towards the north. So, an exciting game too. That's right. All right. So there, this is one of those days that there's no like big picture thing. I have a ton of like little things. Those are the best ones. But I want to start with a question. I got on the text machine last night.
Starting point is 00:06:43 And it got me thinking. Okay. So this was from a 270 number. Matt. I was drinking with my friends this weekend. We were talking about our various coaches in basketball, and we were trying to figure out who would be the best in certain circumstances. Here were the ones we discussed. We'd love to hear you discuss these on the air. So they were like 15, but I'm going to give you the five that I like the best. Okay.
Starting point is 00:07:11 All right. So remember, we're talking Rupp, Joe B, Patino, Tubby, Gillespie, Pope Sutton. So seven different guys. Okay. Right? I've been our coach. And the question is, how would you rank them for these various jobs? Let's start.
Starting point is 00:07:29 You have to pick a UK basketball coach as president of the United States. All right. Who is your top choice? Who is your worst choice? Let's all just agree. Seventh place, Shannon, is Billy Gillespie. We do not want Billy Gillespie to be the president of the United States. That's what everybody agree with that.
Starting point is 00:07:51 Unanimous. All right. So now, who are you putting as being the president? I have a selection, but I'd like to hear first from you. My president is John Vincent Caliperi. Really? Yes. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:08:05 I think to be the president, you have to be a little full of it. Kind of have to be a showman. Also, he changes families. Could go up changing generations of families. Maybe he could change generations of families as the president of the United States. You don't think there's a little bit of people don't like politics. that are kind of full of it and he's a little full of it. I think people wouldn't like him, but I think that's why it's the perfect role.
Starting point is 00:08:26 He just, he kind of is a politician. Who would be second for you? It's tough. If you like that trait, then I would think Petino would be there. I was just say, I think Rick would just slide right in as his successor. Okay, so you're going to go Cal Patino. What about you? I'm going to different route.
Starting point is 00:08:40 I'm going Joseph Beesman Hall, Joe B. Hall as my president, kind of a grandpa-ish type figure. I like your pet grandby. Well, we've had a lot of grandpas here recently. Yeah, replaced, had the tough job of replacing a legend. I think he can unify the country. So I'm going with Joe B. Hall. Who's second for you? Tubby Smith.
Starting point is 00:08:59 Tubby Smith. Now here's what's interesting. Four different people mentioned. Yep. Uh-huh. All right. Shannon, who's your president? I would like to be different, but I think Drew is spot on.
Starting point is 00:09:07 I think you've got to have John Caliperi. He's good with people. You know, he's good at going out and talking to, I guess, you know, your everyday layman, if you want to use that term. he is full of it, but he's a great talker too. And I feel like he would be really good at going out and doing all the speeches and everything. So I would have him number one, probably Petino number two is his vice president. All right.
Starting point is 00:09:28 So I think if it were like the 90s, the pre-social media pre-Trump era, I'm with you. I think it would be Cal and Patino. But I think this is a different time now. Yep. I think now you have to just kind of be genuine. I think people want genuine. So my president, I'm a big believer, smart wins out over everyone. everything. Mark Pope. Why would Mark Pope not be a perfect president? He's the smartest coach
Starting point is 00:09:54 we've ever had. Yeah. All right. Big heart. Yes. Okay. Analytics. Probably our best chance of knowing technology. Very true. I mean, I don't know if the older people, you think Joe B's going to understand AI? I don't think he's going to. I think so Mark Pope would be number one. And then Tubby would be number two for me because he's got a good heart. Yep. And I think he's a unifying figure. So we all, will you, Shannon and Drew have the same president. But three different presidents. I'm, to me, Mark Pope's the easy choice because he's so smart. Yeah. All right. So that's a number question. Question number two, you're at war. You need somebody in your foxhole with you. You all have each other's back. And you also want to have skill to get through a war.
Starting point is 00:10:41 Ryan, which UK coach Are you wanting in the fox hole for the war? I'm leaning. Tubby Smith. Really? He was 17 kids. He had to fight in his entire life for everything. Okay.
Starting point is 00:10:58 Family's very important to him. I think he would have your back. I'm going with Tubby. All right. I don't know if he has a skill set, but I'm feeling like Adolf Rup would be good in a foxhole. I'm feeling like, I don't know, he might have even been in World War I.
Starting point is 00:11:12 I'm not sure. I feel like if I'm in a foxhole, Shannon, and I need somebody to have my back and go out, I'm thinking Adolf Rupp will be good at that. What about you? That's actually going to be my pick, too. I think just because he's old school, right? He's tough.
Starting point is 00:11:27 You've got to have somebody that's tough, and I think he was probably the toughest coach out of all seven of them. If we're stuck somewhere, I think he could probably whittle a sword from the wood. Right? Like he could do something, practical to help us in that situation. What are you can do with the sword in the World War? Stab people when they're when they're when they're while they're reloading their guns.
Starting point is 00:11:48 He's not going to be too good with like modern warfare but you know. That's true. We'll teach you to it. No, I figure like he'll know gadgets. He'll figure out how to work. All right. What about you? Kind of going to surprise you all again here. I'm going Billy Clyde Gillespie. Okay. I can see it. Well, I'll tell you why. You can see it. No, I can see it because I bet because I bet you he would walk into battle and do crazy. He would run. And I remember a story, a walk-on told me. He did run.
Starting point is 00:12:16 He did run. He can't run. Yeah. I can't remember if it was Krebs or someone else from that team, but they told me Billy Gillespie pulled him aside at practice one time. And literally, it's what you just said, said, hey, get in the foxhole with me. And they didn't know what he was talking about. But he kept insisting, you have to get in the foxhole with me.
Starting point is 00:12:33 So Billy, he's already a foxhole guy. I'm going with Billy Gillespie. He had a 12-pack of a bun light down there. It was what he had that foxhole. Billy would have been second for me. me. I mean, I'm going eight off the front, but Billy would have been second. All right. Next question. Shannon, you go first. Okay. Host a talk show. The Tonight Show needs a new host. It can only be a former UK guy. Who is it? I think it's John Caliperi again. I think it's John Caliper. I think John Calapary, that's what he's made for.
Starting point is 00:12:59 Hey, well, everybody. Now, I don't know if his monologue would be good. You'd hear the same jokes. Every single show. He'd be like, pooping ice cream. But I do think he would probably do that the best. What do you think? I'm going a different direction. I don't think he would shut up to let his guests talk. He would talk through the commercial break. I don't think he'd be a good host. He needs to be the one being interviewed, not doing the interviewing. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:13:23 That's a good point. So I have him last. I'm going, Joe B. He would almost be like his audience. Wait, house to the talk show. Yeah. And I want the older Joe B. Almost, he'd be like the audience's grandpa.
Starting point is 00:13:36 All the guests would love him. He could talk about hunting, fishing, whatever he want to talk about with him. So I think Joe would be, Joe B would be a good host. He did host a talk show. So that should, so maybe it is Joe B. What do you got? No, no disrespect. The talk show he hosted stunk.
Starting point is 00:13:51 It was awful. Wow. Wow. Mercy shots fired. You probably have a hearing roll. Wow. So you can't have him do it. Is it better than the cow podcast?
Starting point is 00:14:04 You can't have Cal Perry because you, the talk shows where guys just talk and talk and talk are just boring. You can't have, and you can't have, and you can't have. And you can't have. And you can't have Rick Patino for the same reason. So that's why I'm going with Mark Pope. I think Pope's smart enough. He can relate to anybody.
Starting point is 00:14:17 He talks a lot. He doesn't talk about like Patino and Cal does. I'm going Pope. It's true. Cal does have like three failed podcasts. So that might be a problem for his. Okay. Mary your sister.
Starting point is 00:14:32 Oh. You got to pick one? Your first. Your first is Pope. Right? Yeah. I mean, Pope's going to be the most. pure guy to marry your sister.
Starting point is 00:14:41 Hope or Tubby, I think, yeah. I mean, Gillespie definitely last. Yeah. So, we're supposed to take her out for us. Gillespie and Petino, I don't know who you're picking last between those two. It's going to be one of them. I mean, is anybody going to say, but Pope's an easy answer. Pope or tubby, I think she would be a good one.
Starting point is 00:14:59 Okay. Finally, go to Vegas with. Oh, boy. Billy. Billy Gillespie. Can I get Eddie two or two for one? Yeah. So are you taking Billy?
Starting point is 00:15:08 You're taking Eddie or Rick? going Rick all day. I've been on a flight to Vegas with Rick. You have. I think Rick, I think Billy would take you to the degenerate parts of Vegas. You're going to old Vegas. Rick, you're getting like the red carpet treatment into the clubs and into the restaurants and you're at the high limit table. With Billy, you might be found next to Nicholas Cage dead on the street if you're not careful, Shannon. So I'm taking Rick. Yeah, but I think Billy would be more of a good time overall, though. I don't know where you. No, Billy's you. He would party. Billy's a booty shaking contest.
Starting point is 00:15:46 And I'm telling you, that sounds fun to me. I don't know about you guys. All right. So I'm going Rick. You're a Billy. What are you got? Easy Rick. Rick, you walk into the win and Italian guys and suits come out and just start following you. They don't even have names. Rick is like the movie casino in real life, isn't he? See, my idea of a good time. And he was just coaching out there. So they got all the connections. My idea of a good time in Vegas, though, is going to senior frogs. That's Billy Gillespie and Eddie Sutton. That's who I'm going with.
Starting point is 00:16:10 See, actually, I feel like you're more of an Eddie guy. I can see you and Eddie sitting at the bar until three in the morning, just the two of you. Talking basketball. All right. Well, I like those questions. Those are great questions. Thank you very much for sending the message. 859-280-2287.

Welcome to my new podcast, Learn the Hardway with me, your host, and your favorite therapist, Kear Games. And in recognition of mental health awareness month, I'm bringing over a decade of my own experience
Starting point is 00:17:34 in the mental health field and conversations with so many incredible guests. I'm talking. Fontein, Ryan Clark. Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing and we're still chasing it
Starting point is 00:17:51 and we don't know when we've done enough. Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses. Steve Burns, Dustin Ross, because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth, or are you a good person because you're afraid? Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Starting point is 00:18:06 Absolutely. And that's two different levels of. trust. I want you to just really be a good person. Join me, Keir Gaines, as we have real conversations about healing, growth, fatherhood, pressure, and purpose on my new podcast, Learn the Hardway. Open your free iHeartRadio app. Search Learn the Hardway and listen now. Jacob Kingston grew up in an isolated polygamous sect. We were God's chosen kingdom on earth.
Starting point is 00:18:31 He felt destined for greatness. So when a swaggering Armenian businessman catapulted, Jacob into an extraordinary world, he doesn't look back. Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, meeting the president of Turkey. I'm Michelle McPhee, and this is one of the most shocking criminal conspiracies I've ever come across. When Jacob met Levant this plant to a billion dollar fraud. But with two kings from entirely different worlds, just how long can their empire survive? The largest tax investigation in American history.
Starting point is 00:19:07 You need to tell me. What you know. Is somebody coming after me? Jacob told Levan, you're ruining my life. Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Life throws hurdles big and small. The question is, how do you conquer them?
Starting point is 00:19:30 On hurdle with Emily Abadi, we sit down with the most inspiring women in sports and wellness, professional athletes, coaches, and Olympic champions to talk about the challenges that shaped them and the mindset that keeps them going. From the WNBA standout, Kate Martin and rising hockey star, Layla Edwards. If a boy can do it, I don't see why a girl can't. Like, I've never understood that. Like, it didn't make sense in my brain.
Starting point is 00:19:51 It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you, but don't ever feel like you don't belong. Don't let that be the reason you don't do it. An Olympic champs, Gabby Thomas, and Katie Ladeki. The ability to show a gold medal to someone and have their face light up and smile, that means the world to me. And that's what motivates me to win.
Starting point is 00:20:10 more gold medals. At our level, at this scale, like being able to fail in front of the entire world. Like, I can do anything. I can, like, I can do anything. Because resilience isn't just about winning. It's about showing up, even when it's hard. Listen to Hurtle with Emily Abadi on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHart Women's Sports. Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio. people on the text machine 772 7754 can't believe how many shots you took at Joe B. What are you got against Joe B? He was on the air against us when I started. I just said the show wasn't any good.
Starting point is 00:20:55 You know, you turn into it and it's like, hey, Denny, went fishing last night, hooked a big one. I didn't know if it was a Cropie or a Blue Gild, but I think it was a Cropie. That's what the show was? Why, when I got him to the bank, it got all. Donnie. That was the show. That was the show. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:12 I don't think I ever listened to it. But, I mean, they used to do it. Shannon, they used to do it at Hooters. They did. They started at Hooters. Joe B. would be at the Lexington Hooters. Denny would be at the Louisville Hooters. Man, you've got to eat.
Starting point is 00:21:25 And they would just every day be at each Hooters talking to each other. That's the part that was always baffling to me. They were like seven straight years where it hooters every single day. I never knew they were at Deuling Hooters locations. I just thought they're at the same place. So they were ahead of this Lexington, Louisville dynamic before we even got to it. Now, before we get to the phone, the basketball player, is he deciding today, this Crow? Crow, yeah, it's coming up. Kentucky was slipping. He's a five-star guard. So people don't know, this is like the number two-point guard in America. And Kentucky has led,
Starting point is 00:21:59 in theory, from the beginning. His name is like... Jason Crow, Jr. Jason Crow, Jr. And everybody assumed he was going. And then this... weekend, it just came out, he might go to Missouri. Yeah, he announced his commitment date. It's coming up. It's not today. It's not today. I don't think so, unless that popped up and I didn't see it.
Starting point is 00:22:19 It is later this week or this upcoming weekend, but Kentucky has been sliding a little bit. How could you lose to Missouri? I mean, I'm not blaming, like, I'm sure it's a money thing when you say, how could you lose? But why would you want to go to Missouri, Missouri over Kentucky? It would have to be money, especially when we saw how they fizzled out last year. Okay, so this is the number two-point goal. The number three point guard. He's the sixth overall player.
Starting point is 00:22:43 Yeah. The number three point guard is the kid that's likely going to Louisville, the one from Newport. Yeah. So I was hoping we'd get the number two, so we'd be like, oh, eat it. But you're saying maybe we won't get him. I'm not as hip on what he's going to do.
Starting point is 00:23:00 I know that Kentucky, there was stories on On 3 that he slid. And he led the EYBL and scoring him. He is a great player. Hope we get him. But there's a pack of team still in the, mix. He looked like what I've just seen highlights, but he looks like a dynamic plate, like the kind of player that you go, okay, you just hand this kid the ball and he's going to be really good. I just love that Pope, we worried about him and these blue chip five star guys that
Starting point is 00:23:24 Cal always got. Now, his first class had two Kentucky ones. That made it easy. But he's in with a lot of them this year, next year. He's not going to be surrendering the top picks just because he has a different style than Cal. He's in the mix with a lot of the guys. Well, we'll see. I hope we get I mean, I got excited when I saw that it looked like they were going to, they were going to get him. And then as soon as I saw it, then I see Missouri. I can't imagine why you'd want to go to play for Missouri. No one's at the game. You know, Missouri to me is about as boring as school as you could go to.
Starting point is 00:23:54 Like they give me, I mean, give me something that makes you want to go to Missouri. Keon Dooley. Tom Hart's probably ready to fight you right now. It's true. It's just boring. It's so yellow. It's so yellow. It's so yellow.
Starting point is 00:24:08 matter, but it's just so yellow. You're exactly right. It's like yellow and burnt brown. Even their colors. Even their court, it's typical hardwood court, but they managed to make it even kind of yellowish. And I mean, their biggest school is journalism, which, you know, sleep. It's like, I don't, I don't get Missouri. If it were up to me, we would kick Missouri out of the SEC.
Starting point is 00:24:29 No, and replace them with like North Carolina. If you could just take, take Missouri out, put North Carolina. That would definitely be better for basketball. Be better for everything. Missouri's not good at anything. Missouri didn't win any baseball games this year. They won like one. Did they?
Starting point is 00:24:44 Yeah. Football, they kind of consider us. I don't know why, like one of their rivals now on the SEC. Well, I don't consider them. I don't, I agree. We beat them so much when things were going well. And then they beat us in the last couple years. Get them out of here.
Starting point is 00:24:55 Andy, go ahead, Andy. I think that commitment day is July 18. Oh, 18. Okay. Yeah, the only other explanation I can think of other than money is I guess they totally make you go there. to be the guy. You know,
Starting point is 00:25:12 maybe the main point. I mean, I don't understand wanting to be the guy on a bad team, but you know, you're probably right. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:25:19 Just had a basketball question. I was thinking about next year's guards. We're going to have five guys that basically need playing time, needs to be on the floor at least 10 to 15 minutes.
Starting point is 00:25:32 I'm going to see if you would rank the most minutes to least amount of minutes with low, O-Wa, Chandler, Johnson, and Everdeen? Low 1, O-A-2, Aberdeen 3, Johnson, 4, Chandler 5, but I think they all play.
Starting point is 00:25:53 I think all of them will be in double digits. I think it's to be very close. They definitely need to make it. Yeah, appreciate the call. I'm very conflicted with Colin Chandler. Part of me really thinks we're going to be surprised by how good he is. I think we're going to play three guards a lot. I think we're going to, I mean, I think,
Starting point is 00:26:08 you know, I think that three spot in Pope's offense can be. I mean, remember, most last year, Oway was playing that spot, right? So whether it's Oway or Chandler or whoever you want to put there. Well, yeah, I think William's going to play the four a lot. But I think you're going to see that five, I think three of them are going to be on the court most of the time. So you'll get all their minutes. A three-guard lineup, definitely their best lineup this year. I agree with you about Jalen Logue, just because I think we're a little thin at point guard.
Starting point is 00:26:36 I think he gets the most minutes out of those five. He will not end up being underrated when the season starts because I won't shut up about him. But I still think people just look past him. The assumptions online that O.A. is going to lead us in scoring, I think, I'm not saying he won't, maybe he will. But I think if you went to Vegas and you made me bet on who is going, I would easily say Jaylemo, he's going to have the ball the most. He's going to play the most. He's going to, like, he's going to score a lot. I don't know if he'll be the MVP or not.
Starting point is 00:27:10 We'll see. But to be honest with you, if we're going to be really good, he needs to be the MVP. He has to be good. Well, if he is the leading score, I think that's really good sign for how the season's going. Because the other guys, I agree with you. I think it's going to be pretty balanced. I think O'A could lead the team with a lower number than he had a year ago. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:25 I mean, I love O.A., but Jalen Lowe's going to score like 17 a game this year. And you think Jasper gets more menacing Chandler? Yeah, but it'll be close. If you made me bet, I would get Jasper. But I could see it being, they wouldn't shock me if it was Chandler. Let's go to Teague. What's up, Teague? Hey, first off, on that last call, I think you're tripping if you think Colin Chandler's
Starting point is 00:27:51 getting anywhere the same amount of amendments as Jasper Johnson. That's ridiculous. We've got to see how the season starts. If he plays like he did in the last couple games at Team USA, then he'll get more minutes. If he plays like he did in the first couple games, then it'll be different. I think Jasper Johnson is an inconsistent player right now, but I think that it's worth keeping an end trying to get him hot. That's what you think, but that's not how Mark Pope coaches.
Starting point is 00:28:19 I realize that. Second off, I want to say I could eat 10 more donuts than you ever could in one sitting, more than you could even dream of. Yeah, but no one would care. I appreciate the call. We want people want to see Ryan do it. And we have to talk about that because we're doing it. but Ryan there are people upset about it one is your girlfriend very upset another is the ladies
Starting point is 00:28:42 of KSR Facebook page oh really the women in general the women in Ryan's life the women sort of aren't fans of it the men are like you should have gotten even eat 20 the women are like you shouldn't get him to eat any so we do need to discuss it couple of my friends last night said you can do it and I said they're Jeff's donuts you can't do it were they men or women men exactly the men want you to do it, the women are worried about your figure. And so we have to discuss. We'll take a break. Be right back. KSR.
Starting point is 00:29:13 T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney. Call T.J. He'll make them pay. Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. What is this? The donut song. Oh, okay. Well, we're going to hear this on Friday. Yes, 859-280-2287.
Starting point is 00:29:32 On the text machine, one person, right, Matt, Missouri has won the 8th. SEC Championship, I don't know how you can say you don't want them. They've had more success in football than we have. Don't care. It's not about success. It's about what, why do we want them in? Like, what do they add?
Starting point is 00:29:47 Do they add excitement? Do you ever get excited about a Missouri game? You ever sit there and go, oh man, can't wait to play Missouri. Think about that atmosphere. I've not had one urge to go to a Missouri game. Missouri is the most boring. Which, I mean, if you're being honest, if I were to say to you, would you rather have North Carolina or Virginia,
Starting point is 00:30:05 or Missouri in the conference. Who's saying Missouri? Only Missouri grads? Nobody. They're not Southern. This is the SEC. We are still the one conference that to some extent has geographical consistency. Missouri is not Southern in the least.
Starting point is 00:30:19 We are like arguably Southern. Missouri's not Southern at all. No. It is Midwestern. It's just boring. I mean, they're in. They're not going anywhere. But they should be in the Big Ten, right?
Starting point is 00:30:32 They just wanted them to get the St. Louis Market, right? Yeah, but that was in the old cable system days. That doesn't matter anymore. Missouri should be in the Big Ten. That's where their heart is. Right. And we should have somebody else. I'll happily get rid of them.
Starting point is 00:30:49 It was impressive when they came right in the SEC and had some football success for a few years. But other than that. But they hit down years in the SEC. They hit years. No, they've had some terrible years. As you mentioned, their baseball team. When they won were years that the SEC was just kind of down overall.
Starting point is 00:31:03 and they got, you know. Yeah, and then they've had some horrible years. And as you mentioned, their baseball team almost went winless this past season. Yeah, they only won one game, the baseball team. All right, let's talk about the donuts real quick. You, um, so I've had, I've had a request for a modification. Okay. There are people who think the 10 and 10 minutes, you're going to have no chance.
Starting point is 00:31:25 No chance. Because they're so big. So what, what if we do this? You still have to do 10, but I'll give you 20 minutes. So that eating them quickly is not the issue. It's just eating them, period. I think once I get to five or six, no matter how much time you give me, I'm not going to be able to cram four more down my throat.
Starting point is 00:31:47 Yeah, but again, you have to believe in it. Oh, that's right. It's right. I can do it. All right. I practice this morning. I had a donut this morning. So is anybody having an objection to giving him 20 minutes?
Starting point is 00:32:00 Yeah, I do. You do? Yeah, because yesterday he said he could do 10 in 10 minutes. Now you're changing the rules. I'm kind of of the opinion, though. The issue for him was not going to be eating it quickly. It was going to be eating it at all. I want to see it in 10 minutes, though.
Starting point is 00:32:15 That was the deal. Now we're going to 20. Well, then make it two hours if you're going to change the time and just say eat 10 donuts. All right, so you're vetoing the 20. Yeah, Ryan. You said you could do it. You got to do it. Call it 15.
Starting point is 00:32:28 Me in the middle. How about we meet in the middle? 15 minutes, 10 donuts. Now, the people in your life, they're trying to get you not to do it. Oh, she just sent me in another text. I think it basically said, Matt can suck it. It's exactly what the text said. Why is she mad at me?
Starting point is 00:32:45 I think she thinks you're trying to kill me. You're the one that said you could do it. I will remind you, this all came from you. You can go listen to the tape. I didn't say you could do 10. You said I can eat 10 in 10 minutes. I thought it would be a fun little experiment to try. This is an experiment.
Starting point is 00:33:04 That's what we're doing. Of course, I would prefer. Let me ask you a question. What if I put up a go fund me? And fans can contribute to you if you get it. Like, because I had people online offered to put up like a hundred bucks themselves, etc. What if I put up a go fund me? I bet it would get, I don't know, I bet it'd get a grand probably.
Starting point is 00:33:24 I'd go higher. What if I put up a go fund me? And then would that give you more incentive? If you throw in my 200, and then you might get 500,000, who knows. It depends on how much the fans are excited about it. Joe Kraft could be excited about it. We've never done anything like that with money, so we have no idea what it would be. But it conceivably could be a good amount of money.
Starting point is 00:33:51 You could probably pay for my ambulance ride to the hospital and my stomach pump once I get to the hospital. No, there's not. Look, this. You have a great diagnosis. It's just bread. It's just like it's just bread and shit. So do you like that? I mean, would you want me to do the GoFundMe?
Starting point is 00:34:06 I go for it. I'm just still worried about my accomplishing the 10 donuts period. But do you think you'll have more incentive if the fans have put in a thousand dollars? Sure, yeah, there would be more incentive? Yeah. So what happens that the fans donate all this money and he doesn't do it? We just canceled the GoFund me? They get it back.
Starting point is 00:34:22 Yeah, they get it back. You can, you know, all this reminds me. Remember that time your bet jury could gain like, what, 20 pounds in a week? But that was unhealthy. That was trying to get. 50, actually. He had 15.9. That was like, Drew, can you gain?
Starting point is 00:34:35 It was like 50 pounds in a month or something. And that would genuinely have probably hurt his health. This is like a one time. Yeah. I can see you eating four or five on your own. I could eat four or five donuts. No problem. You just admitted to eating one earlier.
Starting point is 00:34:49 What's nine more? I'm not trying to talk you into this. You have to decide this. I'm going to try it. Okay. So then there's no debate. No debate. So do you want me to put up the go fund me?
Starting point is 00:34:57 Do you want me to give the chance for fans to, to do. Yes. Okay. So fans can contribute to that. A little more incentive? I mean, I don't know how much money it could be. I think, you know,
Starting point is 00:35:11 he's going to get $10,000 to eat 10 donuts. That's what's going to happen. I don't know if it'll be $10,000. I don't think it'll get to that. But it wouldn't shock me if it was over $1,000 or $2,000. Which is awesome. People are great. But I still, I don't have a chance in France of getting there.
Starting point is 00:35:25 So they're just, you know, do different. All right. Well, here's what. Now, don't anybody, like people do fake ones. Don't donate to one unless it comes from me. Like, wait until you see it from me. Okay. Okay. I'll put it up either tonight or tomorrow to give people a chance to do it.
Starting point is 00:35:41 All right? And we'll probably donate it to one of my favorite charities. I mean, you could use it. I definitely could use it. So why do you know? I mean, if you want to donate it to charity, you can. I probably will. People would rather give it to you.
Starting point is 00:35:54 You are the charity. Yeah, they've seen my bank account. They know a lot of red numbers in there. Well, I mean, it's up to you. If you want to give it to charity, you came, that's very nice of you, but why wouldn't you just keep it? I just, I would feel guilty. What would you feel guilty about? You're not forcing these people to do it.
Starting point is 00:36:11 It's a transaction they signed up for. It's for their entertainment, and some of them would be doing it for like the joy you've given them over the years. They want to see me throw up. I think's why they're donating the money. Okay, but fine. So why, I mean, look, if you want to give it to charity, that's very nice of you. you, but I don't want you to feel guilty in to giving it to charity. I don't feel guilty.
Starting point is 00:36:28 I wouldn't something I wouldn't want to do. Can I do it as a fundraiser for something? So you're eating 10 donuts for charity? Yeah. That makes even better. I mean, I just felt like I'm sweating. I'm sweating already thinking about these donuts. All right.
Starting point is 00:36:44 Well, it's fair. Let me say. Very nice of you to give to charity. I also don't think, though, I don't think people would feel bad if you took it. You're like working for a prize. I mean, Shannon didn't give his $5,000. from the walk to charity. I did some.
Starting point is 00:36:58 How much? I think it was a thousand at least of it. Okay, 20%. You want to give 20% of it? Sure. All right, so now he's going to keep the... I knew it wouldn't take him long to get to the 80%. Tyler, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:37:17 Yes. I'm just always as soon as I can hear you. Always. Go ahead. I've got two quick questions and they're unrelated to each other. The first question is, how long... What's the longest period of time you could realistically see Mark Pope being here. And the second question is, how good do you think Archman will end up being?
Starting point is 00:37:38 On the first question, I could see Mark Pope being here 15 years. Easy. I can see it. I mean, I don't know how long the man wants to coach, but he seems driven by it. He seems to love it. You know, if he's successful and wins, I don't think he's going to go anywhere else. So, Ryan, I could see him 15 years. I mean, he's only early 50s. I mean, he's a year. young man really in the coaching world. So I can see him definitely be in her 15 to 20 years. I agree. Assuming it's going well, I'll put him, I'll say he retires at 70. I guess I think he's 52. That'll be 18 years. Yeah. I mean, it's all going to be about for me, it won't be about him
Starting point is 00:38:17 leaving. It's about is he success? Sure. I think he will be. But if he's successful, I think Mark Pope will be here as long. Like, there are very few coaches in the country that I think I could see being at their school longer than Mark Pope here. Even young guys like, John Shire. I could see John Shire going to the NBA one day, right? Mark Pope's not going to the NBA. This is his job. This will be the job. And so I, yeah, I think he could stay here a long time. Arch Manning, let him start for a couple games. And they play at Ohio State, don't they first game in the season? Yeah, we'll find out. Find out quickly. Find Bob said he was going to be better than Tim Tebow. Like, come down.
Starting point is 00:38:57 Dude. Let him play some games first. I'm excited. I bet he's good, though. And the Mannings are smart, and so I bet he's good. Tim, go ahead, Tim. We'll see him here in Lexington. Miss the show yesterday, I tried to call in. I got a sad song for you. Teddy Bear by Red Sovine. Yeah, I don't like that song.
Starting point is 00:39:19 Isn't that the one that he's on the CB? He's on the CB. That's not even a song. They're like talking to each other the whole time. That's always been one of my least favorite Willie's Roadhouse songs. And also I have a comment on the football team. I wonder if they're downplaying this year to keep our expectations lower. Over the last few years, they've been really high and we haven't done as well.
Starting point is 00:39:45 Maybe they're keeping them low, so we'll surprise people this year. Maybe. That's my call. You got to hope that's the case. You know, you can, I mean, I hope so. Do I think it's likely? I don't know. I think it is amazing how silent they've been.
Starting point is 00:40:03 And it's clear they're not deviating from that path. We have criticized it. Other people have criticized. They've said nothing. They are calling people now for season tickets that had season tickets last during like the Truman administration. Like they are doing, I give them credit, but they are not deviating from the plan of hiding to the public.
Starting point is 00:40:21 And I guess that's just going to be what it is. But again, if they win, none of that don't matter. Next week's SEC Media Days, you can't hide there. but Stoops did get the last day time slot when most of the media has gone home and the room's empty. They're going 16th of the 16 teams, which in the past means no one will be there. Most people have already left for the day. Most people will have already gone home. Stop overpaying for sunglasses.

At our level, at this scale, like being able to fail in front of the entire world. Like, I can do anything. I can do anything.

Yeah, this is the worst. I can't stand this song. It's because it's not a song.
Starting point is 00:45:22 You're just talking. And it's long too, Shannon. And it's like seven minutes long. Five, but probably four minutes too long. Feels way too long. More people saying they're going to donate. Again, first of all, only do it if you want to. Second, you should do whatever you want with the money.
Starting point is 00:45:45 Don't let you have a great conscience. but you're also somebody you were like you were telling me during the break like if people give me money i'll feel bad that's what entertainment is like if you were to go put on a stand-up comedy show people pay for a ticket to come see you that's entertainment this seems weird to me why i don't know eating 10 donuts in 10 minutes is weird the show is weird yeah i just i'm just saying i know that it would be helpful to you and i don't want you feel like you can't do it because of your of any sort of conscience or anything i think most people that would give would want ryan to keep i do too that's exactly right they would be doing it they
Starting point is 00:46:29 would want you to do it that's why they're doing so but you know that's up to you i got a question for you shannon yesterday on the on the interrupted by matt jones podcast we talked about this drew and i gave our thoughts pretty extensively you can see it uh subscribe to interrupted by matt jones yesterday's show was really fun with me and Drew and Billy talking about the news. But one of the things we talked about, I have to ask you about because you've talked about it for years, which is the Epstein thing. The FBI releases and says there's no list. He committed suicide case closed.
Starting point is 00:47:04 All right? No, no, I don't. No. I think, you know, there's a lot of coincidences that were going on with, like, the cameras that weren't working, guards that didn't do their rounds at the time they were supposed to. If you go through, there's a lot of things that didn't happen that we're supposed to. And, you know, I don't think that's a coincidence that the camera is just so happened. So what do you think about the fact that the one dude that's now the assistant head of the FBI, Bonjino,
Starting point is 00:47:29 he had been one of the biggest Epstein conspiracy theorist. He was like, it's conspiracy. They're hiding things. Now he's in charge and he's like, well, maybe they're not. Yeah. Well, I mean, they're not going to come out and say that they killed him. But he said the whole re. I mean, Trump's whole thing was I'm going to run to put this out.
Starting point is 00:47:46 And then the woman, the attorney general, said, I got the binder on my desk with all the names. She should have to, like, resign, right? Yeah, I would think so. And why are those names not out there, by the way? Well, I think probably because they don't exist. We talked about this on the podcast. Like, I doubt there was, like, just a ledger of names. But she said there were just a few months ago.
Starting point is 00:48:11 And now nothing. So you still You still think Like they're hiding stuff Oh yeah There's definitely something going on I don't know So nothing in this announcement
Starting point is 00:48:25 Changes your mind No no Still believe it Okay Because Billy said he used to believe it Now he believes that there's no Like they changed Billy's mind I've always believed
Starting point is 00:48:35 By the way there was no list That it was just like Something people said Because I didn't believe He took a ledger And just wrote people's names down I think that would be pretty careless of him to do something like that.
Starting point is 00:48:46 It would be stupid, right? But people are mad online. They go online. They want the list. They want to see the names of the list. A lot of the people, a lot of the biggest Trump supporters are like, you said, you do it. Now they're not.
Starting point is 00:49:01 They're mad. People are mad online, Drew. Well, it was like a big charade. Remember they brought all the podcasters and gave them binders and they're like posted, look, we got the list. And they were holding it up and dancing, which I did. thought that was weird when they did it. My thing is there just needs to be an explanation of why people in power have talked about it so
Starting point is 00:49:19 much, but then now it's nothing. Like, the math ain't mathing. Maybe it's not some crazy conspiracy, but why were you saying you had it if it never existed? I did see, though, again, I may be wrong, but in the video, is there one minute that's missing? Is that the story? Yes, I know you're talking about it. There's like one minute of the video where it's missing.
Starting point is 00:49:40 It like blinks from 1158, 58, 28, to. to midnight. This is the video of the jail cell? Of the jail cell? Or the hallway. It's not the actual cell, I don't think. It can't I be, like Shannon said, it can't I be coincidence, right? That the, the, the, the, the, the, yeah. The film was messed up. I think it's not really filmed. How many does did you do? Was that like six straight? Maybe it is. I think we found a topic that gets him worked up. It's bids on the donuts. It all happened, though, during that minute, minute and a half, whatever it was that's not on the film.
Starting point is 00:50:16 Yeah, I haven't seen that. You know, apparently they released all 11 hours, but that minute's still not. Come on. That's. Yeah. You don't think that that's, you think that's just some big coincidence. I don't have a strong opinion. I just think it's interesting.
Starting point is 00:50:30 I just think it's interesting. This is what I say about conspiracy theories. I just think it's interesting. These people that, like, said the conspiracy theory, then you put them in chunks. charge, and then they're like, well, no, there's nothing. We were wrong. Well, then why'd you say it for all those years? Yep.
Starting point is 00:50:48 Let's go to Kevin. Go ahead, Kevin. I've heard you guys predict all your starting lineups, and I know three more months to go, so it's a perfect time to talk about that. I just want to see or understand why you guys don't think Yellovich will start. Because I've never seen him play one second in my life, and he's not even in America yet. Yeah, but he's doing it against pros, and he's averaging...
Starting point is 00:51:18 What's he doing? He's respectful number. He's averaging 11 a game. But, I mean, so was Z? Z wasn't playing against pros? I don't think he was playing in the league. This guy was in, but Z was playing against pros. Again, I'm not, I mean, would it shock me?
Starting point is 00:51:37 No, but if you're telling me, okay, I have to decide about a dude who played here last year, okay has been in Pope's system Pope loves him is working out with the team all summer and came back to college to play for Pope or I have to decide for a dude that I've never seen that as of this moment is not even in America yet and that they don't even really talk about on a day-to-day basis I'm going to pick the known guy with Garrison
Starting point is 00:52:03 sure sure and I think you know beginning of the season yeah but I think by the by January I think you'll see low Aberdeen, O.A, Quaintance, and Yellowbitch. That's just, just throw my, adding to my line. You may be right. You may be right. I appreciate to call me. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:52:22 But my initial reaction is going to be, let's get him in the States first. Because the longer he's not here, and the longer, like, I don't hear about it. There's a part of me going, I'm certainly not going to bank on him. True. You can't. Right? At least not yet. I hope he comes in and is amazing.
