This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter.

Starting point is 00:03:13 Drew and I talking during the breaks, Scott, make me wanting to watch the wire again. Such a good show. But you think it's best show of all time? I have three that I can't split up. What do you go? It's the wire, sopranos, and breaking bad. I mean, those are the three best.
Starting point is 00:03:25 I can't put one above the other. Those are the three best. I think... With eastbound and down in very close four places. I think... In some ways, Sopranos is the most rewatchable.
Starting point is 00:03:34 Because you can pick it up at any point and kind of wire and Breaking Badge, you kind of have to watch in a row. Those are, in my opinion, though, are definitively the three best dramas of all time.
Starting point is 00:03:45 And I would say Better Call Saul is right there with them for me, for the best four. If Game of Thrones hadn't have fumbled the last... The end of it? The end, I would have had it in it up there
Starting point is 00:03:55 with all of them. You have any? You know, I still have the third episode of Sopranos Cued up ready to continue our watch party. I'm going to rewatch right now. Join me. Yeah. Have you never seen The Wire?
Starting point is 00:04:06 Never seen it. See, I think you. I mean, the wire is so addictive. We were just sitting there talking about characters. I like Succession a lot. It was on my first song. I think that's, I think when you get to season two, three, and four. Season one's in, but two, three, and four, you get season three and four.
Starting point is 00:04:23 Awesome. I did like the Bear. the last season was not very good. Now you're telling me this season is not very good. It's just slow. I mean, it's just too much like everybody feels sorry for themselves and it's just, you know. I've had multiple people tell me get through the first half of this season. It gets really good.
Starting point is 00:04:39 That's what's making me stick with it. I hope that's right. One person writes, Matt, I think wrestlers would have been better with more Matt Jones and Ryan Lemon. Definitely more Ryan Limon. Didn't have enough Ryan Lemon and wrestlers. Well, we tried to put on a little performance on the big finale there for Shannon. watch Shannon Gettie's ass whooped that night, so that was kind of funny. You know, that's gotten a second life on WBE.
Starting point is 00:05:01 Has it really? Or on, oh, without question, we've seen it. Like, our viewers and stuff have gone, it's gotten back on the algorithm because of Raw being on Netflix. Yeah. Yeah, no, it's, we definitely have seen a, an uptick. You can tell people are discovering it again.
Starting point is 00:05:18 My mom said at the gondolier, somebody came up to her and said, you're Matt Jones's mom for wrestling just last week. recognized from wrestlers. How about that? Shadden? That's pretty awesome. Yeah. I think we could have had more of her on there too. I have an update to our last topic before you move on to what you have next. With the teeth thing. I did a little research.
Starting point is 00:05:38 There was just a study a ranking of the states with dental health. Okay. Where are we? We are proudly in 44th. Yeah. All right. Who's behind us? Let me tell you about Arkansas. Yeah? Not even top 50. They're number 51.
Starting point is 00:05:52 Oh, Arkansas has the least team. They included Washington, D.C. in the study. Arkansas is last in teeth. We don't even have 50 states and they didn't make, I mean, 51 states. So you know what? Everyone should go to Bobby's TikToks accounts and go your last in teeth. Also, Alaska, eat it, Montana, Louisiana, Texas, and then of course West Virginia and Mississippi, Arkansas. I can guess those. We have more teeth than Montana.
Starting point is 00:06:18 And we are just a decimal behind Alabama for 43rd. Exciting. Eat it. How about that? That's right. We got the most teeth. One person writes, Matt, I would not go to South Africa. You're a white person.
Starting point is 00:06:30 You could get murdered. Well, I could get murdered anywhere. I could get murdered here. You can argue it's much more dangerous for me in Louisville than it is in South Africa. You can survive Louisville. I think you'll be fine there. I'm sure they're taking you guys to a secured area or a safe area. They wouldn't send you over there.
Starting point is 00:06:49 Well, I mean, there's, I'm going with a guy who might be the next government. of Illinois, or excuse me, of Georgia. So I'm assuming they're going to take us somewhere safe. True. If they don't, I won't be the headline. What about the safari, though? Zebra attack. He's not going to the safari, so that might be a little different.
Starting point is 00:07:10 8-9-280-2287 is Ask Anything Wednesday. The Summer League starts, well, the Vegas Summer League starts tonight. The other one started earlier. Are you going to watch it? If it's on, I'll watch it, but I don't make a point. to watch it. You're going to watch it. Oh yeah. I'm looking forward to it. Tomorrow at 3.30, we have Rob Dillingham versus Antonio Reeves and a little Keon Brooks. So that's what time? 330. First, first game. Rob Dillingham versus Antonio Reeves. And Keon Brooks. Okay. I like that.
Starting point is 00:07:39 They're teamed up. Who do you? Next year's or the guys that are all new, the rookies that just from Pope's team, most of them are, I think we wait until Friday. I think Jackson Robinson plays tomorrow. So you got, Reed is not playing. No, Reed is. playing. Reed is playing. Okay. So Reed's playing, Rob's playing. Antonio Rees is playing. Justin Edwards is playing. And then all the guys from this year are playing. Keon Brooks is playing. Yeah. So you got Jackson Robinson, Kobe Brea, Andrew Carr, Amari Williams, whom I miss. Lamont Butler is playing. Tom and our teammates. That could be fun. So a lot of Kentucky guys, you know,
Starting point is 00:08:17 I'll be interested in some, I think the big storylines. I think Dillingham got a, like, Reed Shepherd's playing. year. The Rockets basically, it came out that they would not trade Reed Shepard to the Sons. The Sons wanted to make Reed Shepard a big part of that Durant trade. The Rockets would not trade him. So let's just assume Reed is good. I think Rob's got a show he can play. Yes, he does. Antonio Reeves got released by New Orleans. They're letting him play for the summer league team. So in some ways, Antonio Reeves is playing for a job in the NBA somewhere. And then you got these dudes. Kobe Bray is going to make the team. I think Amari's
Starting point is 00:08:53 got to like play well. And then these other guys, I don't know if they're going to make their teams. They're probably not, but they're kind of playing to get known. So this is a big summer league for all these guys. You think Amari can make the Celtics? Well, Amari's going to be on a two-way. I think he'll be with the Celtics. I don't know if he will make the roster in Boston, but he'll probably play for their G-League team. But the rest of the guys like Lamont Butler and Andrew Carr and Jackson Robinson, they need to play well to even get the two-way and to get the, so It's a big thing for all of them. Definitely.
Starting point is 00:09:26 Friday night is one we'll really want to watch. I think Kobe Bray and Reed Shepard are on the same time, just different channels. You could do a little back and forth, Kobe Braya. Lance Ware made the Knicks. If you still, if you want to throw out a how about Lance, he's playing with the Knicks. I'm sure a dude's playing for the Lakers. Yeah, he didn't play with them yet because they were in Utah. But once they get to Vegas, and there's several former Kentucky players.
Starting point is 00:09:50 Keon Brooks was in the NBA at the end of the season last year. You know, I've been to the Summer League. It's a cool thing. It used to be really cool because they used to have it in really small gyms. Like I went John Wall's first year, and I sat two rows from LeBron. Like, that was awesome. So I think Cooper Flagg is his first game tonight or tomorrow? Cooper Flagg and I think Vegas starts tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:10:13 Yeah, so Cooper Flagg, I think plays Brony tomorrow night. And that'll be a show. That's when I can't be interested to watch. I think it's on ESPN tomorrow night. Cooper Flag versus. Let's go. Ask anything Wednesday. Let's go to Casey. Go ahead, Casey. Hey, good morning, fellas. So this morning I bought tickets to take my son to his first concert. And I was wondering what your all's first concerts were and what's your best and worst
Starting point is 00:10:37 concert. And that's all had, thank you guys. Okay, first concert for me. My first one without my parents was Tom Petty in Rupp Arena. Went with DJ. The whole crowd was smoking so much wheat. And Shannon, I didn't really know what it was. But by the end, I felt like I was smoking. You thought somebody killed a skunk around you. I also went with the, uh, Burt and Blake Maddox to Hammer, M.C. Hammer and Vanilla Ice Tour. That was when I was in middle school. Um, best concert. Probably kicking it on the creek in that holler I went to. Yeah. And then Tyler Childer's show at the Burrell after he'd gotten big, but still, played the burl. That's the coolest environment I've ever seen because you knew like this is the
Starting point is 00:11:26 last time this dude's ever going to play. He'll never play in a place like this ever again. And that was really cool. What about you? What's your best one? My first one I went without my parents was 38 special and Bon Jovi. Bon Jovi opened up for 38 special. My first concert was the Oak Ridge Boys and the opening was Ray Stevens. Oh, right sneaky. No, wait a minute. What were some race? Oh, yes. They call him. This streak. The streak. That's right. Bogie dead. Yes. All right. That's right. Okay. What about you? What was your first
Starting point is 00:11:59 and best? My first without my parents, and that's like a big concert, is me and my buddies, we took a limo to Robert's Stadium in high school to see Nellie, Jarl rule, and Ashanti. And they were, and the St. Lunatics. And they were approximately two and a half hours late. Oh, yeah. We just sat there
Starting point is 00:12:20 waiting and waiting and waiting. Where's Nelly? Where's John Ruh? He had been at the Evansville Mall that afternoon. So it's like, we know you're here. Just please come out. Like, what are you doing in Evansville right now? So that was my first. Dirk's Bentley is my worst at Rupp Arena. Sorry to any Dirk's Bentley friends out. I heard that one was really bad. Why was it? Well, one, I'm not even really a fan. But it was just, it was like this gigantic plane and he was dressed as a pilot. That was one where like a lot of people left halfway through.
Starting point is 00:12:46 It wasn't great. Yeah. I might have been among the ones. And what was the best one? probably a Buffett concert. I just can't tell you why it was the best. It probably was before the concert that made it the best. Actually, Zach Bryan at Railbird a few years ago here at Red Mile was pretty awesome when it started raining. So I'll say that one. All right.
Starting point is 00:13:04 What about you, Shannon? I can't remember my first one without my parents, but I can tell you the first one that I went to with my parents, with my mom, and that was Cher in Nashville. Oh, it was not Share. Did you see Cher? No. It was. Here was the deal. If you could turn back time.
Starting point is 00:13:18 If I went to see Cher with my mom, my mom would take me to go see Stone Tipal Pilots when I was 14 years old. She wouldn't let me go to a concert at 14. You got to be the only person that went to share Stone Tipal Pilots back to back. That's right. And that was in 97 at the Louisville Gardens right down the road from here. And what was the best one? That was probably the best one because it was my first one.
Starting point is 00:13:39 Yeah. No, I can see that. Yeah, for sure. Share and Stone Temple Pilots. I love it. Let's go to Al. Go ahead, Al. Hey, good morning.
Starting point is 00:13:48 Good morning. Hey, I want to thank you for bringing up Better Call Saul. I loved that better than break it bad. It's great. Omar and The Wire, that's awesome. But have you ever seen The Shield? I have. I like it.
Starting point is 00:14:03 It's kind of been a forgotten show, in part because the Wire came after it, and I think people thought it was a little bit. But I think the Shield is very good. Very, very good. Now, back to the Crystal Rogers thing. There was evidence. There was a tremendous amount. a cell phone evidence.
Starting point is 00:14:21 I mean, a lot of it that put him in critical places at critical times. And then one other thing that nobody's bringing up. If you ever watch any crime show, when the FBI set somebody down, they say, where were you at 8 o'clock
Starting point is 00:14:37 on whatever day, okay? Yes. And then when the people answer, they'll say, well, walk me through what you did. The guy says, okay, I fixed breakfast. Okay, what did you fix? Well, when they asked Brooke Alks, that question, he would not answer because he knew it would be a trap. He didn't, he refused to tell.
Starting point is 00:14:58 Where was the trial, Al? Like, it wasn't it. It was in Bowling Green. Yeah. Okay. Yes. All right. I got you.
Starting point is 00:15:05 Well, I appreciate it, Al. Thank you. I'm sorry. Sorry, we lost. I haven't, I didn't follow it. We listened to that podcast when it came out years ago, the Bardstown podcast, but I really didn't follow. follow the trial, but I know there were people that were following at like minute by minute. I didn't really do that.
Starting point is 00:15:25 I tried to keep up with as best I can. It's usually at night I'd just scroll through that Shane McAllister and Louisville, the reporter, she did a good job. I would usually just go to her profile. Seems they're not done. I was watching a news clip where they interviewed one of the investigators and detectives about what's next and he says basically like, sit tight, you'll see. So there's still a lot more to solve in Bardstown that I think this will lead to it to more.
Starting point is 00:15:47 Let me go back. You said there was, what did you mean when they said there was a parade? Well, the townspeople all gathered in the town square, you know, the town square is there. Like I say townspeople, like it's the Middle Ages. And they all wore pink because that was Crystal's favorite color. Okay. And they all had signs. Ballard Strong.
Starting point is 00:16:04 They kept chanting Ballard Strong. They were waiting for the Ballard family to come back from Bulling Green to ride through the town square. And they were all just kind of cheered for them. Welcome them back home. There were cars honking their horns constantly. It was a big to do. Yeah. Wow.
Starting point is 00:16:17 Yeah. Well, I mean, that community, that's, that's, that's been a long, and remember, it was, it wasn't just her. It was the police. Like, there was just so, so much happening during that. I can see what. My first started doing the show with you. Barstown had just been voted like the what, the Clint's, most beautiful. Most beautiful town in America. Yeah. And then all these murders happen and it's just like, what's going on in Bargetown? Still, though, I think. I mean, if you're ranking, if you were telling somebody, you have to go to a town. of less than 20,000 people in Kentucky. If somebody were to say, where should I visit? Would you say Bardstown first? Maybe my first city. I would think Bardstown would be the first choice, wouldn't it? Yeah, no doubt.
Starting point is 00:16:59 What would, what else? I've always, I don't know, it's just me, but I always like Danville. I was going to say Danville too. Okay, I can see that. So Bardstown, Danville, how big's Paducah. Is it bigger than that? It's bigger than 20,000. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:13 Okay. I think Paducah is nice. Downtown Paduca on the riverfront is really nice. Yeah. Mount Washington I would not say Mount Washington. I would. I think some people would say
Starting point is 00:17:22 Cynthia. Yeah, I could see Cynthia. Yeah. I mean, there's not as much to do as these other places, but I could see Cynthia. Yeah, if you're wanting small town, Kentucky. A little midway over here.
Starting point is 00:17:33 What would you say it would be the town? Yeah, definitely midway. What would you say it would be the town to go to in eastern Kentucky? That's a great question. You know it better than I do. Yeah, there'd be different things for what you wanted to accomplish.
Starting point is 00:17:48 Yeah. I mean, the prettiest is probably to go into the Pike, Pikeville area, because you can go up in the breaks and all that stuff. Because like natural bridge is not really attached to a city. Yeah, I don't know. That's a tough question. It is a tough question. Yeah, 859-280-2287. It's Ask Anything Wednesday.
Starting point is 00:18:08 A couple open lines. Give it a shout. We'll take a break. Be right back. KSR. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending.

Trip Fontaine, Ryan Clark. Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
Starting point is 00:19:28 And we're still chasing it. And we don't know when we've done enough. Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses. Steve Burns, Dustin Ross. Because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth. Are you a good person because you're afraid? Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Starting point is 00:19:44 Absolutely. And that's two different levels of trust. I want you to just really be a good person. Join me, Keer Gaines, as we have real conversations about healing, growth, fatherhood, pressure, and purpose on my new podcast, learn the hard way.
Starting point is 00:19:59 Open your free iHeartRadio app. Search, learn the hard way, and listen now. Jacob Kingston grew up in an isolated polygamous sect. We were God's chosen kingdom on earth. He felt destined for greatness. So when a swaggering our meaning, businessman, catapults Jacob into an extraordinary world.
Starting point is 00:20:19 He doesn't look back. Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, meeting the president of Turkey. I'm Michelle McPhee, and this is one of the most shocking criminal conspiracies I've ever come across. When Jacob met Levin' this plant to a billion dollar fraud. But with two kings from entirely different worlds, just how long can their empire survive? The largest tax investigation in American history. You need to tell me what you know.
Starting point is 00:20:48 Is somebody coming after me? Jacob told Levan, you're ruining my life. Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Life throws hurdles big and small. The question is, how do you conquer them? On Hurtle with Emily Abadi, we sit down with the most inspiring women in sports and wellness. professional athletes, coaches, and Olympic champions to talk about the challenges that shaped them and the mindset that keeps them going from the WNBA standout Kate Martin and rising hockey star Layla Edwards.
Starting point is 00:21:25 If a boy can do it, I don't see why a girl can't. Like, I've never understood that. Like, it didn't make sense in my brain. It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you, but don't ever feel like you don't feel long. Don't let that be the reason you don't do it. An Olympic champs Gabby Thomas and Katie Ladeke. The ability to show a gold medal to someone and have their face, up and smile. That means the world to me. And that's what motivates me to win more gold medals. At our level, at this scale, like being able to fail in front of the entire world. Like, I can do anything. I can, like, I can do anything. Because resilience isn't just about winning. It's about showing up, even when it's hard. Listen to Hurtle with Emily Abadi on the IHeart Radio app,
Starting point is 00:22:05 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHart Women's Sports. you know what I might say. Welcome back. Techie Sports Radio 50271-1080. Text machine 772-745-254. Ask anything Wednesday. One person writes, Matt, what do you think about the radio guy in Kansas City saying that Patrick Mahomes was embarrassing because he has let himself have a dad bod? I saw that. First of all, that's a bold radio host in Kansas City to call out Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City. man's only brought three Super Bowls to your Steaking franchise, maybe show him a little respect.
Starting point is 00:22:45 Here's the exact quote. Dude, you're fat. Stop the fast food. Do a set up, do anything. It's pretty harsh. I think he's earned the right to go through a drive-thru. I think Patrick Mahomes can eat as much as he wants. Amen.
Starting point is 00:23:00 Like he's, Mahomes has been awesome. Yeah. I think he's earned the right to do that. And have you seen, is there anything about his game that said, like by the end, Brady was kind of fat? And then he like, after he got done, got in shape. But like those, there were a couple years where he was a little, you know, Peyton Manning was never, I mean, I don't know if he's ever fat,
Starting point is 00:23:19 but Peyton Manning was not like a physical specimen. I bet he did too. About Rothlessburg. Plus also, we, we also, I saw the picture. I wish I had that body. You don't look fat at all. He doesn't look fat at all to me. Like, okay, is he ripped?
Starting point is 00:23:35 Maybe not. But like 98% of men would be fine. looking like my home's looks right now right also he's at a 4th of july cookout who's not going to have a little extra weight at the cookout interesting strategy for that guy in kansas city to criticize the face of the team i don't get it there are some pro athletes that will completely let themselves go for a month and in three weeks of getting back on their training they're back to rip amen let the guy have a summer i mean i don't want to use examples we know but there's been some pictures of John Wall in the summer where you're like,
Starting point is 00:24:11 oh my goodness, that's John Wall. And September rolled around. And he looked great. Guys go on vacation. I just don't know if that quarterback, you need to be all that ripped. You don't really have to the long as you can move a little bit. I mean, if you are, that's great.
Starting point is 00:24:25 But like, I've never looked at Patrick Mahomes and said, you know, that guy needs to be more athletic. Like, that's never, to me, been the problem with him. He's not a scrailing quarterback. But also, I just want to say the standard, like, I want to see that dude with his shirt off. True. I mean, Mahomes, to me, Shannon, did not look that bad. Did he you? No, no. No, he wasn't ripped. But again, at quarterback, I don't think that you have to be. There's a lot of great
Starting point is 00:24:48 quarterbacks who probably had dad bods. You don't have to be shredded to be a great quarterback. He went to the Super Bowl last year. He's won three Super Bowls. I think he's won three and what, been to five or something or something? He's it okay. I think whatever he does in the offseason is working. Yeah. I think he's going to be all right. I just, if you're a radio host in Kansas City, though. That seems like a shocking way to go. Cody, go ahead, Cody. Yeah, I think we need to have more Ryan Lemon does Ray Stevens songs. If we could get that set up, that would be great. I would enjoy that too. What I wanted to do is call back to the TV shows. You're a big Sun Infeld guy, right? Yes. So I think we take, and it's my comfort
Starting point is 00:25:33 show, it's what I go to sleep too. I don't want to change anything about it, but I'd like to see an alternate universe where Kramer's the main guy and then his friend Bob Sacramento that he always references is the Gary's character and Jerry is the one that we don't see but we hear about all those antics. See, I worry about if you made Kramer the main character would get a little exhausting because he's so over the top. I want to show it to be complete chaos. Yeah, it would definitely be chaos. You get a lot more Newman. I appreciate the call. I like the idea. It's just Kramer's a lot. I think You need Kramer and small dose. It is interesting.
Starting point is 00:26:09 There are shows, which are very famous, where the main character is the most boring person on the show. Seinfeld, most boring person on the show. Shannon, I hate to say it, Andy Griffith. You know, Andy Griffith is the most boring person on that show. He is. Wasn't he originally supposed to be the bumbling character and then they brought him Barney?
Starting point is 00:26:29 I think I've read that. He was supposed to be bumbling and then Barney was better at bumbling so they made him the straight character. Yeah. Can you think of other shows were the main person? Well, okay, family matters. The family was supposed to be the main thing, and it quickly became the Urkel show.
Starting point is 00:26:46 I was going to suggest cheers. All the surrounding characters were much more interesting than Ted Denson was, I thought. Really? Yeah. Ted Denson was going to go, he was like getting ladies and stuff. The other guys were kind of made the show funny.
Starting point is 00:26:59 Yeah. Trying to think. Seinfeld and Andy Griffith are the two that stand out to me the most. Because I don't particularly think in either of, of those shows the main character is I mean Seinfeld is just a straight man to almost all the jokes right
Starting point is 00:27:14 yeah I'm still racking my brain of secondary characters I love more yeah well I mean depend on who you think the main character is in Jimstones John Goodman is the least interesting character by far Jimstone yeah so Corey go ahead Corey Hey Matt take the headset off real quick
Starting point is 00:27:31 this is for Shannon and Drew you guys are obviously right about Epstein which is fine So my ask anything question is, is what is your favorite conspiracy to talk about? Because if you don't believe in a conspiracy theory at all, you have to believe that the government's told you the truth about everything, which is far more outrageous than not thinking we went to the moon. So I'd like to hear you guys talk about that. I don't agree with your conclusion that that means you have to believe in everything. But yes, what is your favorite conspiracy theory?
Starting point is 00:28:01 Appreciate it. Aliens. That's it. Is it your favorite because you believe it's true? Or because you want to believe it's true. I think they exist. And you believe they exist like things with brains that fly around. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:17 And you think they've been to Earth. Yeah. So you think there are aliens. Yeah. Things with brains. Do you think they're green? I don't know. I don't think we need to discuss the race of the aliens.
Starting point is 00:28:29 They exist. okay all right i think that's ridiculous but okay what about you what about you true nothing too crazy i think they're like lizard people living amongst us like the royal family some politicians some celebrities i think they're lizards reptiles you don't really believe yeah Denver airport i was just there i'm telling you stuff's going on at the denver airport i had a i got there two hours early just to look around and snoop it's been under construction since before there was a colorado there's something going on in the denver airport i hope you all just realize how you sound.
Starting point is 00:29:09 By the way, I do think the government covers things up. No doubt. There are aliens in the ocean at the bottom of the ocean at their surface. You just have to stop. That's it. I get into it. I do think there are things the government covers up without question. But that's different than being supernatural or you know, something crazy.
Starting point is 00:29:30 I just, well, we've been down this. I like those. Shannon genuinely believes there's aliens. We'll be right back. T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney. Call T.J. He'll make them pay. Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. Welcome back, Tucky Sports Radio. Raise a glass to the Cats. Club Blue is the official N.I.L. Fundraising partner at UK. And they're going to have a special bourbon bottle signing with La Familia, the Kentucky Alumni Basketball team. That is next Thursday night at Bespoken Spirits and Grey Line Station at 6 p.m. The team will be out there. That includes Aaron Harrison, Andrew Harrison, Andrew Harrison,
Starting point is 00:30:08 and Sly Almanor, Archie Goodwin, DeAndre Liggins, Duran Lamb, Khali-Wittany and Willie Colley-Stein. Each purchase includes signatures from the team, and every bottle purchase will support UK's NIL efforts. It is the Club Blue Collectible with La Familia next Thursday, July 17th at 6 p.m. It's game week, man, coming up. Yeah, they play on the 18th. That first game is next Thursday.
Starting point is 00:30:32 Friday, the 18th. They play Friday, Sunday, Tuesday. Yeah, that's right. It's Friday, Sunday, Tuesday. And the Friday game is on FS1, and then the Sunday game is on regular Fox. Oh, is it really? Yeah. Got to handle their business and get to Louisville.
Starting point is 00:30:48 Got to get back to that crappy town where they'll be throwing their fisticofts again in that game. Next Thursday. Got to handle business at home. Next Thursday we'll have all those guys on. So it'll be a show of like all those former players. Which was great fun last summer. You get to spend some time with each one of them. Kind of catch up a little bit, a lot of fun.
Starting point is 00:31:04 Did you see the Brandon Garrison, New Shannon McDonald's. commercial. He's got an NIL deal with McDonald's. No, I haven't seen this yet. Speaking of eating well. And it was filmed at the on-campus McDonald's, not the best McDonald's in the world. They maybe could have taken him to one of the other ones out a little bit. But good for Brandon Garrison, getting a little McDonald's love. Get your money. Good national brand. I thought his order was a little week. Very small. I don't like that I get like three times more than some of that. McChicken. Spicy McChurray. Fries and a McFlurry.
Starting point is 00:31:37 I treat the McChicken as like one of my side items to my entree when I go to McDonald's. Yeah, they zoomed in on him chewing the food too, which I thought was, but good for him getting the NIL deal. There was a story yesterday from Ross Dellinger, which I recommend about how because of the way the calendar worked, the NIL clearinghouse is just overwhelmed with NIL deals because everybody did all these to write to the start. And there's talk that there's some of the. schools have spent $50 million
Starting point is 00:32:08 already. Like, it's insane. Fifty million since July 1st? Well, since the end of June. Goodness. Like, because they're front loading guys for three and four years and they paid them all right up front. So, like, they had to, you know, who
Starting point is 00:32:25 knows? I mean, the whole, it's such a while, it will calm itself down. But I think that, I think if you were a coach or an athletic director trying to navigate these last few months. It was an absolute blank show. Yeah, you need a staff just to keep up with it.
Starting point is 00:32:42 I'm happy for Brandon, man. You know, I think he'll make a big jump this year. Him and with Jaden Quaidence, once he gets healthy, that could be really, really good duo to have down there. Shannon, there's a PGA tour event in Louisville. Yeah, I saw that. This weekend. Do you care? I'm not really a big golf fan, so no, not really.
Starting point is 00:32:57 It's at Hurstborn. Yeah, they've been practicing. I hope it doesn't rain on them again. Every year, every year here, it would just pour rain the entire tournament. is it supposed to rain this weekend? I haven't looked at the forecast because I'm not going, but I'll be tuned in.
Starting point is 00:33:11 I'm dialed in. We got a little J.B. Holmes return. Our boy, Teeter. St. X High School has five golfers in the field. That's pretty interesting. Is that right? They had two Monday qualify. They got a sponsor's exemption.
Starting point is 00:33:25 Well, Hurstborn's a nice course. I hope it works out. I mean, I want to see one of these tournaments work in the city of Louisville. Chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday. Not a high percentage, but. Well, hopefully they can get through some of it with the... Do you think the LMPD had a little meeting? Like, hey, guys.
Starting point is 00:33:40 I know it's not. No, I'm sure Craig Greenberg was like, all right, here are the pictures. They're like, all right, you can arrest these guys. Nobody knows who they are. The J.B. Holmes. Let's just let him go through. Let's just let it happen. There's a few big names if you've watched golf closely.
Starting point is 00:33:56 Grillo. Yeah, that's my friend Johnny's guy. He just played well last week. Yeah, Freeberg. Go ahead, Freebird. Hey, in honor of Ryan's conquest of the donuts on Friday, I sent Billy a video and I sent Ryan a video and you too, Matt, of a guy eating a 13 pound hot Cheeto burrito. And I'd like to know all six of you, what challenge could you all do something like that? No, I'm not doing any of it.
Starting point is 00:34:24 If you wouldn't and why not? No, I would never do anything like that. I appreciate the call. I mean, food to me is to be enjoyed. I like, you know, I don't want to, I'm not doing it. But I encourage Ryan to do it, even though he's doing it on his own free will. If there was hot sauce involved, though, you'd be in my pick of the six of us, by far. Oh, I can eat hot, hot stuff.
Starting point is 00:34:44 I really like hot, hot stuff. I'm now all in, no offense to my other one, on a new Indian place that I think is, well, the place I liked in Louisville shut down. Oh, the Docksian place. Oh, really? They've been there a long time. I think I heard. I haven't said. So now the Everest here in Lexington.
Starting point is 00:35:04 Okay, I haven't tried that one yet. It's Nepalese and Indian. That's the best one in Lexington. I haven't asked anything question for you. They want me to ask you, what is up with Ronnie Lott's Pinky? Did you guys talk about on your ESPN show? Oh, Ronnie Lott, according to Myron, former 49er Ronnie Lott was in a game,
Starting point is 00:35:27 and rather than and in order to play in the game he had to have his pinky amputated and he chose to have his pinky amputated rather than sit out. During the game. I think it was like for the next week. So he heard his pinky
Starting point is 00:35:43 and they were like, if you keep this pinky, it'll take like two months to rehabilitate and according to Myron he cut the pinky off instead. So he could play the next week. That's what Myron said. Now that may be false.
Starting point is 00:35:55 But this was like we were doing, I think it was New Mexico Day, and I think he's from New Mexico. And Myron's New Mexico fact was that he cut his pinky off. Goodness, what was his toughness score on the video game, 99? I don't know if I believe this, by the way. Myron just said it, and I've not looked it up. Nobody confirmed it or anything? No.
Starting point is 00:36:15 By the way, today on ESPN is Kentucky Day. Oh, it is. You know, they're doing 50 states and 50 days. Today is Kentucky. They're doing their shows from the Louisville Slugger Museum. Right up the road from here. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:25 I'm actually going on. a couple of the radio shows to talk about Kentucky tonight. Very cool. But yeah, they're doing Kentucky Day. I got six tonight when they, the first one from- Let's go to JC. What's up, J.C.?
Starting point is 00:36:38 Hey, guys, I don't know if I missed it or not, but have you heard of the doomsday cat cult in Columbia of Kentucky? No, but I like it. What is it? Have you seen the documentary? There's a doomsday cat? Cult, yes, cat-cult. Oh, cult?
Starting point is 00:36:57 Okay, that's different than a cat. I think the cults for a restaurant. Okay, so what is it? Quickly, what is a Doomsday Cult in Columbia? That's an hour and a half documentary. I mean, it's bizarre. I think it started out in Utah, and then people became aware of it.
Starting point is 00:37:19 But when you say it's a documentary, where does one see it? Like, what is it? I think it's on sling. You can Google it, Doomsday Cat Cult, Columbia, Kentucky, and it's extremely interesting. And actually,
Starting point is 00:37:35 well, tell me what's interesting. Interesting. Tell me something, Pete. Well, there's people that have anywhere from 20 to 30, 35 cats in their home. You know, there was a murder plot. There's
Starting point is 00:37:52 bizarre teaching, you know. Okay. I've got your answer. Okay, hang on. I appreciate the call. Drew's got it. Go ahead. Shannon just said it to it is on Max, and it is described as a charismatic religious leader manipulates her congregation through prophecies and cat-centric beliefs, leading them down a destructive path. In Columbia.
Starting point is 00:38:14 Yes. Adair, Kentucky. So this is it. When was this? It's 2025. I don't have the exact... So this has just happened. At least a documentary just came out.
Starting point is 00:38:24 I don't know when... And it's about a cat cult in Colombia. I think we all have homework. It's called the Doomsday Cat Colts. I spent a year of my life in Columbia. Did you know about the cat cult? I don't know if it was going to... on back in 2002?
Starting point is 00:38:36 Judge Gabe is from there, right? And you need to ask him what's going on. So there's an Adair County cat cult. Yep. Even Apple.com has a story about it. Wow. Well, during the break, let's get some small operation. During the break, give me some details.
Starting point is 00:38:50 Because I, I, I've been to Columbia many, many times. She says bizarre rituals. As homes overflow with cats, her demands escalate, allegedly to murder, binding followers, and a dark web of shableness. shattered lives and fanaticism. In Colombia? Yeah. How many houses?
Starting point is 00:39:08 I don't know, but I know what I'm watching tonight. Wow. All right. See, you just never know. 859-280-2287. We will take a break. Very back. Last night, a blown call changed a game.

Starting point is 00:40:33 in possession of the thing. And we're still chasing it. And we don't know when we've done enough. Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses. Steve Burns, Dustin Ross, because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth?

We were God's chosen kingdom on earth. He felt destined for greatness. So when a swaggering Armenian businessman catapults Jacob into an extraordinary world, he doesn't look back.
Starting point is 00:41:27 Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, meeting the president of Turkey. I'm Michelle McPhee, and this is one of the most shocking criminal conspiracies I've ever come across. When Jacob met Levin this went to a billion dollar fraud. But with two kings from entirely different worlds, just how long can their empire survive? The largest tax investigation in American history. You need to tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me? Jacob told Levan, you're ruining my life.

Starting point is 00:42:36 sense in my brain. It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you, but don't ever feel like you don't feel like you don't belong. Don't let that be the reason you don't do it. An Olympic champs Gabby Thomas and Katie Ladeki. The ability to show a gold medal to someone and have their face light up and smile, that means the world to me. And that's what motivates me to win more gold medals. At our level, at this scale, like being able to fail in front of the entire world, Like, I can do anything. I can do anything. Because resilience isn't just about winning.

And remember, right now, there's a special deal if I can find it.
Starting point is 00:43:45 I know there's a special deal, Shannon. Yeah. There it is. Between July 8th and 11th, Prime 30. You get 30% of it. Oh, goodness. From July 8th through the 11th during Amazon Prime Day, Prime 30 at cornbreadhimp.com. Check them out.
Starting point is 00:44:03 cornbread hemp. Apparently there's a podcast about that cat cult that's very, very popular called a Columbia cat cult. How'd this sneak past us? I don't know. Shannon lived there. I like documentaries like this. Ryan does too. Feels like we should have, should have known that. All right. So just so you know, hopefully tonight we might have the thing for folks who are ready for Ryan to eat the donuts. That's going to be on Friday. And then we will sell the tickets probably tomorrow to the wings day, so to the wings tasting. So a lot of stuff on the horizon. Are you going to do anything to prepare yourself the night before, like not eat? I'm thinking about that. I was actually going to
Starting point is 00:44:43 Google preparation for competition eating guy. Like, what do they do? They start themselves the night before or they'll eat some pasta to try to jumpstart their metabolism. You know, what do they do? I have the answer. I've been with someone who trains. You actually eat a lot to expand your stomach, but you do it far enough ahead of time that your stomach is empty when you actually do the challenge. So maybe early on tomorrow, get that belly big and then don't eat much late at night. Ah, okay. Yeah, that's one way to do it. Pete, go ahead, Pete.
Starting point is 00:45:17 Hi. Are you talking about South Africa? You were going over there? Yes. Yeah. Well, you watch yourself over there, Bell. It's not the nicest place to be. I, well, you know what?
Starting point is 00:45:32 There's a lot of places that aren't nice, Pete. Well, you're from, though, but you're not from South Africa, are you? No, but I've got ties to South Africa. So you go, so you do go, so you like it. No, I've actually never been. No, I didn't say that. I just haven't been here. But, you know, just be careful.
Starting point is 00:45:56 You know, you run around in your expensive shoes. and sports gear and stuff, you know, you could lose your life for that. Well, I will, I will not wear expensive gear, but you, but Pete,
Starting point is 00:46:13 I mean, you're like me, though, you haven't been. No, no, but, you know, we have traditional exposure to South Africa
Starting point is 00:46:23 and South Africans. I know a lot of South Africans. Okay. Just the other thing, before you go. If you get a chance to go to a rugby match, go. All right, I will do it. I'd love to.
Starting point is 00:46:37 I've been to one in England, but I would love to. Well, thank you, Pete. Appreciate it. Nice to hear your voice. Thank you. Bye. Bye. I like Pete.
Starting point is 00:46:49 Pete's a good, I like, you know, that's, is he an Aussie? Is that right? I don't know, but he kind of scared me with the advice he gave you. He's never been. Yeah, he doesn't know any more than we do. know any more than we do. Just because he has an Australian accent does not mean that he knows more than we do about it. I believed him.
Starting point is 00:47:09 Apparently, there's cat things in Columbia, Tennessee. People are telling us, too. Well, somebody wrote me that, but I looked it up. The Adair County, Kentucky newspaper wrote about it. So there is Kentucky. Yeah. Okay. It's really quite a catastrophe.
Starting point is 00:47:21 Okay, shut up. Ted, go ahead, Ted. First time long time. Who are? What's up? So where are you going in? South Africa. Cape Town,
Starting point is 00:47:35 Johannesburg, and then to like the Kruger National Reserve. Oh, that'd be nice. I've been twice and just went back in May. I was with some guys there that are from there.
Starting point is 00:47:59 And just riding in the car they said don't hold your cell phone up you know just doc don't don't
Starting point is 00:48:09 they said I understand yeah that makes you at a stop at a stop like somebody will come
Starting point is 00:48:18 and break through the window and grab your phone and take out front you sounds like a horror movie so yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:48:26 but but you went and you're you're back yeah yes so are we so am i i'm good i'm not just going on my own and what like there's a whole group of people and we have like literally desmond tutu's uh daughter is one of the people leading our
Starting point is 00:48:46 group well just just uh stay with someone don't be out of by yourself and okay well i won't be by myself i appreciate the call thank you very much the u.s department of state website says you're fine says have some increased caution i mean like johannis is a very dangerous city, but it is like a lot of cities. What's the danger is in the drug trade and in things that I'm not going to be doing. Yeah, don't be trying to buy drugs. I'm not going over there to traffic drugs. I'm just going for my conference and I want to see a giraffe.
Starting point is 00:49:25 Those are the two things that I'm hoping to accomplish. The State Department gives tips. You want a tip? What? What's the tip? Do not display signs of wealth. such as expensive watches or jewelry. I have no expensive watches.
Starting point is 00:49:38 That hoodie you have on in that hat, I think you're good. These are fine. I do not. I thought about buying a watch, but then I realized ahead of phone. And it also says, avoid visiting informal settlements. So whatever informal settlements you were going to visit. All my settlements are going to be formal. Okay.
Starting point is 00:49:54 I have no interest in an informal settlement. It also recommends an evacuation plan that does not rely on the U.S. government. Okay, now that one's going to be a little harder. I don't know what is my evacuation plan without the U.S. government. Get a personal helicopter or a plane. Johnny Versace, go ahead. Hey, Matt, speaking of cults, can you explain to me the motivation and just really the inertia
Starting point is 00:50:22 around having a Tom Jurich way in the city of Louisville? I was very surprised by their decision to do that. I mean, for a variety of reasons. You know, here's what I think it is. though. If you want to know the actual reason and not just a joke, there are a handful of very big donors who have not donated to U of L sports since Tom George left. They are people who are Tom George loyalists. They are still friends with Tom George, one of whom is very, very close to the business community, one of whom I think may have even at one point been the biggest U of L donor.
Starting point is 00:50:57 They are trying to sort of unify the Louisville world for the next generation of U of L sports this Jeff Brom generation, et cetera. And I think the thought was, if we do this, it's a way to extend the olive branch to Tom Jurich and to get all of our donors back on the same page. I think that was the mindset. That's a reasonable explanation, but it seems to me that, you know,
Starting point is 00:51:22 they hate Rick Petino off and on, like depending on. There's a lot of fans that didn't want to do it. But that's why they did it. I mean, to be honest with you, Johnny, I mean, that is why they did it. So, you know, I appreciate the call. They're trying to get on the. Jeff Brom, I think, was one of the big ones.
Starting point is 00:51:39 Let's get everybody, let's be one Louisville again, because they haven't really been that in the last 10 years. And I think that was the motivation to do it. Tell me about Stock to Mortgage. Stock to Mortgage, you know, they're big, they're growing, they're all across the state, and they can help you get to the closing table. Stock to mortgage, not just any other mortgage company. They're built for people who want to do things the right way. But at your first home or your fifth home, they bring clarity and care to every loan.
Starting point is 00:52:02 And this is the most important thing. you don't need to figure it all out alone. Stockton mortgage will do it for you. They'll hold your hand, walk you through the process, start to finish with tools, options, and real people ready to help and make it less. Where do I start and more? Let's go. Stalk the mortgage, NMLS 8259, Equal Housing Lender.
Starting point is 00:52:16 Shannon, let's you and I get together over the next couple weeks. And let's work on my informal evacuation. Okay. Yeah, I've got you. All right, because we're going to need one that doesn't rely on the U.S. government. Can I bring them into it? So we got to figure out who else are we going to talk to? Do you know other people that are big on evacuations?
Starting point is 00:52:33 from South Africa, not with the U.S. government. No, but I'll do some digging and we'll have a game plan for you. And stop looking so wealthy. You're going to get yourself killed down there looking so wealthy. Yeah, that's right. I'm going to take Ryan's phone. If I take an Android, no one's going to take that. It's a brick. No one has any interest in taking the Android.
Starting point is 00:52:54 We will be back tomorrow. This is Ben, Kentucky Sports Radio. Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guide, Not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends. Starting point is 00:53:20 We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter.
