This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter.

Starting point is 00:01:37 I'm Michelle McPhee, and I've been unraveling the strangest criminal alliance I've ever reported on, a Mormon polygamist, and an Armenian businessman. A Vision Autoglass Text Machine is 772-7452525. 4 and this edition is sponsored by the T.J. Smith Law Office called T.J. O'Makeem Pay. PGA golf tournament. Tournament. Man, I sound like a professional.
Starting point is 00:03:07 PGA golf tournament in Louisville starts today. UK basketball's been practicing. The summer league starts tonight, but all anybody really cares about is the Ryan Lemon Donut challenges tomorrow. After I told the story for last week about how I went on the 4th of July to Paris Town and they were having a donut contest. By the way, I found out it was a Donut hole contest. Oh, that's even easier. Somebody ate 110.
Starting point is 00:03:34 Oh, my. Whoa. So this is a donut contest. Ryan Lemon said, I can eat 10 and 10 minutes, Jeff's donuts, which if you haven't seen them, are thick. Like, they're not just, they're not crispy creams. They're dense. They're dense.
Starting point is 00:03:50 He said he could do it. It led to me saying, okay, I'll give you a little cash if you do it. And then people wrote me and said, you know what? We want to participate. we want to be one of the ones to give a lot of money. And next thing you know, last night at 7 o'clock, I put up a go fund me for, do you think ride could do it, contribute to the pot?
Starting point is 00:04:11 My hope was to get $1,000, Drew. That's what I hoped. It became very quick. It was $500 in like five minutes. So then I was like, well, maybe we can get $2,000. And then it was up to $3,000. And finally I said, well, let's cap it at five. Maybe we'll have five right before we get it.
Starting point is 00:04:32 Folks, we have already raised $5,000. Before even mentioned it. There's $5,055 right now in it. So I cut it off at $5,000. Who knows what we could have gone to? I did it because that's very generous of the audience. Like, crazy generous. But B, I knew Shannon, who got $5,000 for walking 50 miles,
Starting point is 00:04:57 might lose his mind if Ryan got 10,000 or so for eating donuts. Shannon, if he accomplishes this, he will get the same money that you got for walking 50 miles in 24 hours. Is that fair? No, it's not. One of these things was the most athletic accomplishment of the year 2021. And the other one is Ryan sitting in front of a pool eating donuts. One of these things is not like the other, all right? One of them is not like the other.
Starting point is 00:05:25 But there are, but society has valued them both equally. That's amazing. I don't remember anybody donating anything except for your $1,000 and then Power Steps 4,000. That's true. Yeah. I donated a thousand. But not one listener.
Starting point is 00:05:38 No, didn't donate anything. But we didn't ask, to be fair. We didn't ask. We did ask. Ryan, $5,000. And we hadn't even mentioned it on the show yet. Dude, I have blown away. I mean, I am flung.
Starting point is 00:05:55 I mean, you know, in this day and ages all this meanness and nastiness, especially on social media. And then something like this happens restores my faith in humanity. People just want to have fun and smile in life. Like 270 individual donation. That's amazing. That's amazing. It just blows me away. Like, okay, so I put in 200.
Starting point is 00:06:13 There was, I think, one other guy that put in 200. You had some people put in 100. A couple people put in 50. But a lot of those donations were like $5. Which is kind of sweet in some ways. You know what I mean? Sure it is. It's like a very sweet.
Starting point is 00:06:27 Like I'm going to just, I'm going to put in this to get there. $5,055. So you were like, I don't know if I can do it. I'll give my best. We'll see. Oh, you better do it now, buddy. Now you feel like you got to do. It kind of definitely incentivizes I want to do it now.
Starting point is 00:06:49 Jennifer and I were watching that CAT documentary last night. And every commercial break, we pulled the phone up and like see what was up to. and I said in the middle of like I said I guess I got to eat these now because this is crazy the amount of money that ended up being $5,000. That's amazing. So we need to set some ground rules, Drew. I mean, we have some ground rules, but I think we need now that we're talking this level of cash, we need to get all of our boundaries. Yeah. All right.
Starting point is 00:07:12 So originally I said 10 and 15 minutes. It is important to me. I want you to do it, but I also don't want you to like do something, you know, bad. So let's do the vote Would we give him 20 minutes? Oh, please. Get out of here with that. What are we doing? What in the world are you doing?
Starting point is 00:07:34 I'll do 20 minutes. I mean, let's give him a layup for $5,000. That's completely changing the game. Yeah. Okay, wow, I didn't expect that. I was willing to do you 20. I was willing to give you 20 minutes. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:07:45 All right, so just for the record. I'll entertain 15. Just for the record, note who. I did. I was willing to do it. Drew and Shannon Vito. So now we're at 15. That's a drastic change of the rules.
Starting point is 00:07:59 That's like saying getting Shannon 40 hours to walk 50 miles. Okay. All right, fine. 15 minutes out. Okay. Let's go to the second point question then. Yeah, if he doesn't get it, we have the feature to return the money. I can hit a button and all the money goes back to everybody.
Starting point is 00:08:19 Boom. Is that what we do? Yeah. What's the conversation? This is not a participation trophy contest. You either get it or you don't. So you're saying all $5,000 returns. Yes.
Starting point is 00:08:33 Okay. I think you have to. Yeah, Ryan agrees with that even. Yeah, I definitely agree with that. This is how we set the game. Now, are you going to lean into it, put your back into it? I am now. I mean, I really, you can do it.
Starting point is 00:08:46 Are you going to put your back into it? I'm even going to research tonight. What do I need to do the night before? to prepare for the big event tomorrow morning. There may be somebody who listens who is a competitive eater. There is somebody that listens. He was a Tennessee Titans mascot. If you're listening.
Starting point is 00:09:02 He doesn't listen. He doesn't listen? No. Oh. Somebody who he's with listens. Why did you think he listens? I mean, how is him? I know him. I wrote him and talked to him.
Starting point is 00:09:11 We had him on the show. Okay. I genuinely have been with a guy who trained several times. I know him in college. He was ranked. You have to expand your stomach but not like unhealthy stuff. Drink like lots of water. Yeah, okay, so I've been taught.
Starting point is 00:09:23 This is the one piece of advice. I talked to someone in the medical community who said, look, he can do this. It's not dangerous as long as he eats at a reasonable pace. He was like, but he does need to drink water. So you need to have a lot of water. So when you go... You need your stomach to be full or big, but not full. When you go, you need to get him a lot of water.
Starting point is 00:09:44 Well, he needs to be doing it today, not tomorrow. So you need to drink a lot of water tonight and like, and then I'm going to make, This is my only rule. This is the Matt Jones personal rule. Yeah. The first one, you got to eat Puffy. And then after that, if you want to do what they said and smash them. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:01 So there's not as much air. I'll be okay with that. Okay. But you got to eat the first one Puffy. First one, puffy. Tomorrow morning you want a big stomach, but not a full stomach. So you want to make it big today, but you don't want to have all that stuff. So what we're going to do is we're going to do it at 10.30.
Starting point is 00:10:17 Okay. Then you. will have to complete the second hour of the show. You can't just go in and go to sleep. So you got to be here on the second hour to talk to your fans. Right. And then I don't care what you do after that. You can just go spend the money if you want. There is one other question. I guess we need to decide now. What if I throw up before I'm finished? DQ. DQ. DQ. Money goes back. We hit the button. The money goes back to everybody. So it's a DQ if he throws up. During the thing, yes. Okay, what about when he finishes?
Starting point is 00:10:54 I say it has to stay down for five to ten minutes. Okay, so we do it at 1030. We'll come on at 1033. In theory, you completed it at 1048. You got to get to the final set, into the final second. Okay. Perfect. I'll have a bucket there just in case.
Starting point is 00:11:10 Okay, so now I'm going to, just a couple things. First of all, I mean it. You all are like the nicest. Unbelievable. seriously. Yep. We didn't even mention it on the show. And I didn't have to put out, Drew, a second call,
Starting point is 00:11:27 one tweet, one Instagram post, one bond that bridge post. That was it. And then it went away. This is the best sports fan base. I would say in sports, certainly in college sports, but I'll just say in sports.
Starting point is 00:11:45 Nobody else can do that. Nobody else can do that. but would not even be in on the air yet. Okay. You all are the best. The best. Secondly, everybody,
Starting point is 00:11:57 and again, this is a small group of people, but I do want to say this, anyone complaining like about, you know, why are we giving the money for this? You didn't have to get, like nobody had to give it.
Starting point is 00:12:12 Those people that gave it wanted to give it. Leave it at that. It's their money, Drew. if they wanted to give it, period. The reason I use GoFundMe is there's just no other way that I know of just to raise money. I just didn't, I don't know of another way. And it's the easiest to set up.
Starting point is 00:12:30 And I had an account from things we've done in the past. Okay. So that's why we did. Thirdly, Ryan, you have agreed you're going to keep at least some of it. I think I have to now because people have been so nice and generous about it. And the vast majority of people that have written have said to me, I want to give this to Ryan. If I was going to give it to charity, I'd pick a charity. And I think that's correct.
Starting point is 00:12:58 Ryan's accomplishing a goal. Ryan's accomplishing something on the air, just like Shannon did. One day we'll have something for Drew. One day we'll have something for Mario if he wants. We're never going to have anything for Billy. But one day, but everybody else, I'm kidding. He's going to race Ryan Timmons, remember? Yeah, he can race Ryan Timmons.
Starting point is 00:13:16 So, you know, that those are the rules for this thing. Yeah. As you said, a lot of people have paid $5. You can't even see a movie for $5 anymore. They're paying for a form of entertainment. This is a discount. You get Ryan Lemon cramming donuts in his face at 1030. I mean, this is going to be a best of tomorrow morning.
Starting point is 00:13:33 And the second hour might even be better as he sits there moderately sick, Shannon, in the heat. Oh, yeah. Trying to advertise a pool company. That's the other. Have you talked to the pool company? Yeah, CNS pool. That's why we're at my house tomorrow because the show is they are CNS pools about happy about this. I think they're extremely happy about it as long as I don't throw up in the pool.
Starting point is 00:13:55 That would be awful. That would be awful. He's going to be sweating glaze. Now, just for the record, no what, you can't come by. This is a private show. Mario will be filming. Mario might even go live during that time. What is our Instagram account if people want to see it go live?
Starting point is 00:14:13 What is it? KSR. KSR the show. So you can go on KSR, The Show. Could you do TikTok as well live or you can't do them both? Can't do them at the same time. So we'll do it on Instagram. Is there not a second phone we could do it?
Starting point is 00:14:29 Well, we'll talk about it. But either way, if you want to make sure to be able to follow it, the Instagram, KSR, the show. What's our confidence level in him now that rules have been established? We see how big the prize is. I know he'll try a little harder now that we know the pot. Out of 10? 4.5.
Starting point is 00:14:48 Oh, really? Not very confident. What about you, Shannon? Oh, I think you can get it done, especially with this kind of money on the line. I'm going to give him an 8 out of 10. Eight? Yeah, I think he does it. Mario, six, all right, what about you? Two things have increased my confidence level.
Starting point is 00:15:06 The money, because we know Ryan wants money, I think that really adds to his drive. And I'm interested to see, because I really don't know until we have him in our hands, what the impact of smashing will be. I think that can really help him and get to it. I'm going to say I got them at a seven right now. If you had to eat them one by one, I'm like a three, because your mouth just stops. But if he can smash him and get them down and keep them down. You have to eat the first one regular.
Starting point is 00:15:27 I'll let you smash the other nine. But you still have to eat them all. Well, we were watching Jimmy Chitwood or Joey Chestnut, whatever his name is. Those are two very different people. Jimmy Chitwood's the guy from Hoosiers. Joey Chestnut's the eater, yes. He was eating two at a time. You're not eating two at a time.
Starting point is 00:15:42 You got one at a time. I'm letting you smash them. But can you put two and smash two to. No, one at a time. Can I play out one scenario for you real quick? Yes. Let's say the clock is ticking down and it gets to zero and he has the last donut he's still chewing. Does he have to have it swallowed completely or does it have to be just in his mouth? In his mouth. Okay. I'm good with it being, I'm not, here's why I don't want it you to do. I don't want you to rush to swallow. We're not trying to cause any situations. Yeah. If you get to the end and you're not done, I'm fine if it's all in your mouth. That would actually be funny. If you had one or two big donuts. As long as it's off his fingertips. As long as it's off your fingertips.
Starting point is 00:16:20 Now, you will have to finish it. You can't just spit it out. But as long as it's in your mouth when the clock, we will make you finish it, but you can do it on your own time. One of us can be the ref like in soccer. We'll add two minutes to the clock. Yes, it's like extra time in soccer. It's got to be off your hands in the mouth.
Starting point is 00:16:42 My confidence level was probably a two yesterday. After last night, it's an eight. Oh, here he goes. Oh, wow. Now he is. Now, see, I knew all you got to just get those competitive juices flowing. I mean, you know, I've had these challenges before, the push-up challenge. You've done most of them.
Starting point is 00:16:59 Running around a Legends Ballpark Challenge. That's right. You did that. This one's all about something you're good at, eating. Eating. That's right. 859-280-2287. Text machine is 772-7-754. If he gets it, he gets a month.
Starting point is 00:17:13 If he does it, it gets retired. We'll take a break. Right back, KSR. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in.

Starting point is 00:18:14 And in recognition of mental health awareness month, I'm bringing over a decade of my own experience in the mental health field and conversations with so many incredible guests. I'm talking. Tripp Fontaine, Ryan Clark. Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase
Starting point is 00:18:30 that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing. And we're still chasing it, and we don't know when we've done enough. Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses. Steve Burns, Dustin Ross. you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth? Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Starting point is 00:18:49 Because that's two different intentions, bro. Absolutely. And that's two different levels of trust. I want you to just really be a good person. Starting point is 00:19:10 Jacob Kingston grew up in an isolated polygamous sect. God's chosen kingdom on earth. He felt destined for greatness. So when a swaggering Armenian businessman catapults Jacob into an extraordinary world, he doesn't look back. Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, meeting the president of Turkey. I'm Michelle McPhee, and this is one of the most shocking criminal conspiracies I've ever come across.
Starting point is 00:19:38 When Jacob met Levant this plant to a billion dollar fraud. But with two kings from entire. entirely different worlds. Just how long can their empire survive? The largest tax investigation in American history. You need to tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me? Jacob told Levan, you're ruining my life.
Starting point is 00:20:01 Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Life throws hurdles big and small. The question is, how do you conquer them? On hurdle with Emily Abadi, we sit down with the most inspiring women in sports and wellness, professional athletes, coaches, and Olympic champions to talk about the challenges that shaped them and the mindset that keeps them going. From the WNBA standout, Kate Martin and rising hockey star Layla Edwards.
Starting point is 00:20:31 If a boy can do it, I don't see why a girl can't. Like, I've never understood that. Like, it didn't make sense in my brain. It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you, but don't ever feel like you don't feel on. Don't let that be the reason you don't do it. An Olympic champs Gabby Thomas and Katie Ladecki. The ability to show a gold medal to someone and have their face light up and smile,
Starting point is 00:20:51 that means the world to me. And that's what motivates me to win more gold medals. At our level, at this scale, like being able to fail in front of the entire world. Like, I can do anything. I can do anything. Because resilience isn't just about winning. It's about showing up, even when it's hard. Listen to Hurtle with Emily Abadi on the IHeart Radio app,
Starting point is 00:21:12 Apple Podcasts for wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of I Heart Women's Sports. Welcome back, TeguSports Radio. 859-280-2287. Text machine, 772-74525-5-4. What person writes, Matt, I've done competitive eating contest. Drew's exactly right. You've got to drink the water tonight.
Starting point is 00:21:36 You will urinate it all out before the contest, but your stomach will be expanded. So tonight's the water not. don't do what I did and end up in the hospital with too much water. What is they called water intoxication? When I tell people I had that, they're like, you're the only person that's ever had that. I had never heard that phrase until you had it. Yeah. Thanks a lot. Paul Feinbaum. Water training. That was Paul Feinbaum, Shannon. I still didn't even get to hosted. That's right. All because of the water. It's all because of that stupid water.
Starting point is 00:22:06 That's the way it goes. So you got to be careful about that. One person writes, man, I think you should donate the money if he doesn't do it to charity. I can't do that. That's not what, I mean, it's not my money. People gave it under one premise. It's not my money to then give away. So if he doesn't do it, I'll give it back. And then if people want to donate it to charity on their own, they can't.
Starting point is 00:22:26 But like, it's not my money. To only, only $200 of it's my money. And it's going to be worth it. That's going to be the best $200 I ever spent watching this. After talking to him during the break, I'm even more confident. I think he's going to done. I didn't realize how focused he is. You told me yoga girls.
Starting point is 00:22:42 You told me yoga girl flip. Now she wants you to do it. Like I said, we were watching that cat documentary. We kept watching the money raise. And finally, when it got to about $3,000, she turned to me and she goes, you have to do this now. See, everybody sells out. This Ryan Lemon is different than the Ryan. The million dollar man said everybody's got a price.
Starting point is 00:23:01 You know what? It's incredibly humbling, though, you know, to know that people donated this money to watch me throw up and make a fool of my soul. Well, you're not going to throw up. You need to not throw it. I know. I'm worried about that. Are you going to dip it in water? I'm going to let you do it if you want, but are you going to do it?
Starting point is 00:23:20 If I'm getting the point where I'm struggling, I'll probably try anything. You're going to dip it in your pool? What is the drink situation? Milk? What can he have? Any rule? Anything? Well, I mean, to me, drinks, you can have whatever you want, in my opinion. Because drinks will only, it'll just take up more space. But I want you to have water because you need to, like, keep it going down.
Starting point is 00:23:39 But I wouldn't suggest like throwing a bunch of milk in. I don't think that's going to help you accomplish it. I think your mouth gets so dry with all that bread. You're going to need a little water. Oh, there's a lot of bread. And then the sugar. I think the hardest part I'll have is your mouth and your throat will tap out before your stomach. You won't be able to swallow more bread because you'll get so tired of it.
Starting point is 00:23:59 That's where I think the smashing can change the game for you. Smashing can help. Now, you said you're going to the doctor today. Just coincidentally, I think the doctor's going to be excited about this. I wonder if I should not even tell her. I don't think she listens, but this is my six-month checkup today, just coincidentally the day before I do this. Thankfully, it's not Saturday. Have a check your blood sugar while you're in there.
Starting point is 00:24:19 Do you, Shana, do you think she contributed? Who's that? The doctor. Oh, yeah, probably not. I don't think so. I don't think she has a clue about her show. Only the men seem to want. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:24:31 I think I had a lot of women yesterday after I said on the radio that women didn't want to do it. I had women say we want to do it. Some of them were like, I want Ryan to do it for Ryan because I know it would help him. And then there were people who were like, oh, it'll be entertaining. I mean, there are women. I think a lot of them are in the ladies of KSR that are protective of you. They're protective of all of us. And I think that's really, really nice.
Starting point is 00:24:56 But, you know, sometimes you just got to, you got to do your thing. Like sometimes you've got to fly the coop. I would like to see Ryan's blood sugar level when we're done with this. So we could just do like a little point. No, and I would say for you the rest of the weekend, you're going to need to try to do something healthy. Yeah. I don't know what it is, but maybe fluids. Should we have a nurse on standby just in case?
Starting point is 00:25:19 I mean, that's a you choice. I mean, I'm fine with it. I don't know. The only people I know that are still adamantly know my dad and I don't know if your mom is back on board yet. My mom has not said one way. My mom wanted me to make sure I didn't like push you into it. Yesterday when you were like, this is me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:39 I'm doing. She was like, okay, that's all you can do. So it is you now. This is not us pushing you into it. We gave you incentive, but it's you're the one to do it. You're a grown man. See, if we first started talking to it, I thought this would be fun. A fun little bit for the radio show, just a fun little event.
Starting point is 00:25:54 Now it's turned in like, well, I'm going to do this now. Yeah, now your juices are flowing. Because people are incredibly generous. Mario, do you think he should do it? He should do it. It's money, like, look at him. Throw in the cash. around. We keep talking about the money
Starting point is 00:26:07 and the health, but there's also the aspect of letting people down who are excited and believe in you or confidence. We're going to get, this is going to be a hugely rated show. I mean, we have almost 300 people have donated. I think if I'd left it open, it would have gotten up to $7,000, $9,000. I just knew that would make Shannon's head explode.
Starting point is 00:26:25 If it had been... I wouldn't want my house settlement. You know, you're going to pay me what I actually deserve. I know, like, Shannon's head would have absolutely... exploded if we did that, which is the reason I stopped it. Well, you know, when you threw me in jail, we made $30,000 that's... But that was for chairs.
Starting point is 00:26:43 Yeah, right. It's amazing. Oh, somebody mentioned one of the things you say you always accomplish. One thing you didn't accomplish, the putting. Five puts, $1,000 a putt. You missed every single one of them. But was his accomplishment to entertain? Because if that was the goal, then he nailed it.
Starting point is 00:27:00 Good business for KS. Barr, too, is everybody came to taunt you in prison. Dude, we had a jailer come and escort me in a cop car to the KS Bar and Grill. How ridiculous were we back then? I watched that again fairly recently on the internet. It was a great. Is that video on the internet? Yeah, it's on Twitter or somewhere. I think it's going to take it off YouTube, but I saw it as a ball.
Starting point is 00:27:19 It's when the car pulls up and gets him. When I left Tay Kentucky, they took WLAX took all of those videos offline, which is a shame because there were great videos. They, I guess scripts or whoever bought it took all those videos offline. And, but the, that was so ridiculous. The fact we had a cop literally arrest you at the course, take you to KS. Barr. And then you stayed there for five nights.
Starting point is 00:27:48 Yeah, six. Six nights. I was supposed to have 10, but you gave me four days off on good behavior. Yeah, because in Kentucky you served 60%. And I gave, and you would sleep in the restaurant. And the ghosts that were there. Wait, I'm looking at old pictures. Did you get a haircut while you were in jail?
Starting point is 00:28:04 I did. Yeah, Michelle Collins came and cut my hair in my jail cell. Yeah. Every night he would be drunk, too, because people would just give him beer while he was sitting in there like he was a... I think I was keeping trying. I had like 30-something beers over that six days. We had the night, we stayed with him.
Starting point is 00:28:19 And like the random worker walked in at 3 a.m. I've never been so scared of my life. Yeah, that's when they come to do. I forgot. You guys stayed the last night with me. No, we stayed a night with you. Yeah, you did. And camaraderie.
Starting point is 00:28:29 Those were fun times. Maybe we'll, maybe we'll do it again. 859-2-80-22-87. John, he got like 30 seconds. Go for it. You got a controversial opinion. I think we need to change the fight song. It's terrible.
Starting point is 00:28:42 We stole it from Arkansas back in 1923 after 13 years they made it. We got to get rid of it. We can't have a bum program to base our fight song off of it. Steal from Alabama or something. I don't know. We got to change it. Is Arkansas's fight song the same as ours? I didn't know that.
Starting point is 00:28:57 First I heard of that. It's similar. Basically, the director at the time, needed. We wanted to create a fight song. He went around to the university. He chose Arkansas. I did not know that. We'll take a break. Be right back. This is Kentucky Sports Radio. T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney. Call T.J. He'll make them pay. Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. All right, so the put for prison challenge is online. My friend Dwayne just sent it to me. It has survived somehow. I don't know how he
Starting point is 00:29:32 found it, but there it is. It's Drew and I. That's still one of the, I have such a great memory of that show for a couple of reasons. It was the day of the KSR Groffscra. It was. So we'd been out in the sun like all day. All day. Right. Then it was the night, it was the day before the primary for the Kentucky like races, governor, uh, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, all that stuff. Right. We got out there and our teleprime. stopped working. And Drew and I were the host. You could see us if you look at this video.
Starting point is 00:30:09 And Drew and I got out there and there was no teleprompter. And they also, I couldn't hear anything back from the studio. So they basically said, look, you got 20 minutes to fill on tomorrow's election. And I had no notes and know anything. And I couldn't name two people on the ballot. So, Shannon, I would, I Googled who. was running. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:34 And I, and Drew and I just, I was like, all right. Adam Evelyn versus, you know, Mike Harmon. It is the, it is the auditor's race. Drew, what do we think about this one? And Drew would be like, oh, there's a lot happening in this auditor's race tomorrow. Like, we just, we just had to add lip for 20 minutes until Ryan's segment because the show was live. Yeah. We needed to arrest him live.
Starting point is 00:31:01 We couldn't tape it. So we just had to go. There was nothing we could do. Well, the good thing was that everybody that was watching that day was probably watching for Ryan's prison. Nobody cared. But we still had to get through those 20 minutes. And I remember every commercial Drew goes, I got nothing else to say. We have nothing else to say.
Starting point is 00:31:22 I remember being really sunburned. I just finished the round. I think you might have been a little drunk as well. I think you might be accurate on that. I don't know the statute of limitations. It was a golf scramble. But I remember at one point, I think I said to you, I was like, I have nothing else I can say about Daniel Cameron.
Starting point is 00:31:37 Nothing. I'm pretty sure I did five minutes on how he played football. You can start talking about Matt Bevin's house. I didn't know what else to say. Yeah, 859-28027. Do you think Ryan can do the donut challenge? There's people who want me to open the money back up. I think that would honestly get it to seven or eight.
Starting point is 00:31:56 I just, I can't look at Shannon if that happens. What about inflation, though? Don't ever ask me to do anything ever again. If it got to eight or nine thousand dollars. Is it about the same? Walk 50 miles, eat 10 donuts. All right. Now, on our phones here, the first person in line is Jerry.
Starting point is 00:32:12 Jerry's become a very controversial figure on the text machine. Jerry, who has been a long-time caller of this show, a long-time football person, he's probably into football as much as anybody caller we've had, usually been negative. Sometimes he's been positive. but for the most part over the year is negative. I think yesterday's call broke people. The text machine yesterday was only about two topics, Ryan eating donuts and should Jerry be able to call anymore about football?
Starting point is 00:32:42 Which is funny because just a few weeks ago, everyone was negative about football. But now, for whatever reason, maybe it's these commitments, maybe it's just the seasons coming, maybe it's seeing Vince throw up the else. There are people who are just like, all right, I don't want people to say everything's terrible. And there's been this movement of,
Starting point is 00:33:00 you've got to stop having Jerry on the show. Thoughts. Well, to add to the big reaction, on the message board, sometimes people start multiple threads about like a recruit, and we have to merge them, have to put them all in one, just stay organized.
Starting point is 00:33:13 We had multiple Jerry threads yesterday about a caller and had to combine them because to your point, lots of people were complaining about how he's complaining. It seems like yesterday was the breaking point for people. Ryan, over the years, we've had callers who for whatever reason, we've had to temper the amount of time we have them on or whatever.
Starting point is 00:33:33 Jerry, I don't think has ever been one of those. But this, you know, the negativity about the negativity has reached a fever pitch. Should we have Jerry on? I think we've got to have him on, but he is now the leader of the brotherhood of the miserable. I mean, he can't find anything good to say or be optimistic at all, not just about this upcoming season, but, you know, the last of the stoop's tenure anymore, it seems like. Shannon, you're the harshest of the group. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:58 Jerry, did he hit a level of negativity yesterday that is too much? I feel like we have. And we had too much of them this week anyway. So maybe call back next week, Jerry. All right. Here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to give Jerry one chance. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:34:14 To redeem himself. Okay. If he doesn't redeem himself, the next week when I'm on vacation, he has a Jerry vacation. Gotcha. You all will have to not allow Jerry to Jerry for a week. Okay. But if he redeems himself today, then I'm willing to reconsider the bad. That's fair. Jerry, can't be any more further than that.
Starting point is 00:34:36 Jerry, go ahead. Well, actually, I called the talk about Ryan eating these donuts. Okay. This may keep you in. I have a warning for him. About 15 years ago, I against my wife's better advice, I allowed Leland Conway to talk me into a chicken biscuit eating contest against a professional. eater and of course I have blue chunks at the end but since then I have never been able to eat a chicken biscuit or the thought of a chick's-laid chicken biscuit makes me want to hurl so if he really likes
Starting point is 00:35:11 these donuts he may never like him again this is even better news because he doesn't need to eat donuts that's right you know what I appreciate the call Jerry I'm not that that's going to keep you from a temporary ban you're still on probation that would be good for you to not eat donuts. I love donuts. We're doing this for you, Ryan. We're doing this for the good of your health. Donuts are the breakfast of champions. I love it. Have a donut every day. I think this sounds like a positive. And it's the place next to the bar that he probably frequents too much. This is actually an intervention. We're disguising it as a competition. Jerry oddly, with a positive reason to continue with the contest. It's like when a kid gets caught smoking and you have to
Starting point is 00:35:48 smoke the whole pack and it's sick and you'll never do it again. That's what we're doing to Ryan with donuts. Yeah, I think they did that on the Cosby show when they made like Lisa or something drink until, although it looks different. I'm sorry. Yeah, that's not the best example. Here, kid,
Starting point is 00:36:05 have liver failure. Have we made a rain? Don't take anything on the comedy show. I didn't say that. Bruce, go ahead, Bruce. This weekend, Matt, is the rock,
Starting point is 00:36:16 the country concert there in Ashland, Kid Rock, Nickelback, Dina Carter, all that. It's Friday and Saturday. I know you mentioned
Starting point is 00:36:23 you wanted to go. But I have a piece of advice for you. You guys should pull out the Monday Night Wars era radio program counter program against
Starting point is 00:36:37 UK's terrible pregame show instead of doing it before you need to do it during the day. We're not allowed to. I mean, listen, believe me, there's a part of me that would like
Starting point is 00:36:50 to go up against the official show and beat it every week. That like speaks to my inner I can't remember the word. Adam Edelan, I was looking at somebody sent me the article Politico wrote about me in 2019, and he used a word that I thought was a good description about me. I think he said he lives to anger the elites or something like that. I think he used a better word.
Starting point is 00:37:16 I can't remember what is. What I would love to do is go up against the official show and beat it every week. however they are our partners on the radio station their games are on here so we're not allowed to do that which is why we're on before and after if for some reason that weren't the case then i'm with you because i we've talked about that i think it needs to be improved etc bruce but we're just not allowed to uh because of the stations we're on well you need to be like eric bischoff have lex luker come out in the middle of the mall of america and just say we're going head to head deal with it. We're bringing the NWO.
Starting point is 00:37:56 We're doing all this because that is the worst free game and post game show in sports. I would have to leave I heart to do that. I appreciate the call. And I heart is while I would like to do that sometimes, it's probably not worth the difficulty of doing it. But believe me, it doesn't change the fact that those shows need to be changed. And IHeart's the biggest station, whatever throughout Kentucky. you. I mean, I heart, the reason we have a 40, the reason we have a 40 plus network, 40 plus affiliate network is because of I heart. And, you know, if you've been listening over the years,
Starting point is 00:38:36 I have fought with I heart a lot. It's probably knock on wood better now than it's ever been, which is, which again, knock on wood, that could change tomorrow. But right now it is, so why I don't want to screw that up? Colton, go ahead, Colton. The recent news on the Jason Co. Junior recruitment It's a great question. So this was the top five player, Jason Crow Jr. was, it looked like coming to Kentucky. I mean, people thought that for months. His godfather is on our staff, Jason Hart.
Starting point is 00:39:13 And now just out of nowhere reports he's going to Missouri and Kentucky's like out of it. Drew, what happened? I don't know, but Joe Tipton from on three said yesterday that Kentucky's not even in the picture. Like we're not even on the list. anymore. So it was certainly a drastic change in leaving Kentucky behind, but then also just adding Missouri because they weren't in the mix for a long time. So I don't know what's going on.
Starting point is 00:39:36 You have to assume got to be a lot of money involved to have a blue blood like Kentucky you're leaning toward and all of a sudden you're going to Missouri. Kentucky's not even in consideration anymore. I don't get it. I mean, we talked about it. I don't know why you go to Missouri, but I'm also like, how do things change so quickly? And, you know, if your godfather is on the staff like I don't know what do you think happened maybe Missouri's hired his father then on their staff I mean they did hire Michael Porter Jr's family well I mean I think we would know that right maybe that's still coming I don't know that seems like that sounds like something you might know no I'm
Starting point is 00:40:11 just saying is his father even a coach I have no idea so you just thought you're just throwing that out of nowhere yeah for discussion but he might not even be in basketball that he might be like Larry like a middle school guidance house it happened to Kentucky or this year that kid. Yeah, but that guy was a basketball coach. Well, maybe he's got another basketball coach in his life. We don't know this. We're just trying to come.
Starting point is 00:40:32 You were very specific. His dad is going to be the coach. You asked me, to come a scenario, why would you flip like that? I thought, well, maybe that's a possibility.
Starting point is 00:40:43 Okay. Well, maybe his mom's going to be the new president of Missouri. Maybe. It's possible. He wants my opinion. Maybe his brother is the new governor of Missouri. Who knows? I just won't talk anymore.
Starting point is 00:40:57 No, you got to talk. I can't. You got to get you ready for the donuts tomorrow. I got to get him training. His dad is a high school basketball coach. Okay. Let me say this. Former pro basketball player.
Starting point is 00:41:06 All right. Maybe if he ends up becoming a coach at Missouri. Yeah. Then I apologize. Okay. That would be impressive. If you called that out of nowhere, you sure you didn't know something? No, because I mean, Missouri did that with Michael Porter Jr.'s dad.
Starting point is 00:41:20 They did do that with Michael Porter. Okay. All right. I may have spoken to soon. But to show you how bizarre it is, I'm looking at a story that's almost a year and a half old talking about how Jason Crow, senior, called Jason Hart to congratulate him about getting the Kentucky job, and that's how close they are. So it just shows you for Kentucky to completely leave the picture of his dad and...
Starting point is 00:41:40 You do wonder what it is that would have happened. Shannon, I didn't get the ad, so send them to me during the break. We'll take a break and be right back. This KSR. Starting point is 00:45:45 Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. Welcome back, Tughey Sports Radio. I just watched the clips of the video. You know, the left, your putting was awful. And the last one wasn't even close. You know, the first one just barely lipped left. And I thought to myself, well, when I first hit, I thought, that's in. It missed left.
Starting point is 00:46:07 The second one, I hit it. That's in. It missed right. And then that putter felt like it weighed 50 pounds after that. Oh, man. It got so heavy. That's good. I posted on Twitter.

Stayed at a holiday Express last night.
Starting point is 00:47:27 I had no clue. Stop. You really just guessed and that ended up being true. Yes, I knew that. All right, I apologize. You really didn't know? I had no idea. I have no idea who this kid is.
Starting point is 00:47:40 I have no idea who his dad is. I just thought Michael Porter Jr.'s dad did it. This is so you. You guaranteed that Lamar Wilkerson was coming. And then he didn't. Right. You don't even know who this is. And you predicted they were going to hire his dad as a coach.
Starting point is 00:47:55 Same thing. Wilkerson, they hired Indiana, hired somebody in his inner circle as a coach. He went to Indiana. Wow. Mark Pope, they posted yesterday a video from their practice. Game was tied. Malachi Moreno hit a 70-footer at the buzzer to win. He put Aunt Shannon before the game,
Starting point is 00:48:15 they put Kobe eight Venice beaches. Yeah. Which I think are actually really ugly shoes. It's one of the few cobies I do not have of the eight Kobe eights. You like them? Really? Well, I don't. They're colorful.
Starting point is 00:48:29 They're very colorful. But anyway, they were like, whichever team wins this game gets the Kobe eight's game was tied. Malachi Moreno from 70 feet at the buzzer goes in. They win and they get the shoes. I actually saw it. I never get to see BB in tonight, but I saw it last night and I got to see the video of them all celebrating and then getting the shoes. and Shannon, I thought that was kind of cool. I'd never thought about giving these guys like little prizes along the way for winning in the pickup game. Yeah, that was really cool.
Starting point is 00:48:57 And I guess now we know if we're ever in that situation in a game, we know who we're giving the ball to. Let them sling it from 70 feet. Yeah. I like they had to go to the tape. It was so close. I even stopped it on the computer to make sure it was good. But my biggest takeaway is before Moreno's bomb, nearly full court, Colin Chandler missed a game winner. And I'm telling you to write it down. That's the last time you'll see Colin Chandler miss a game winner. When it matters more than shoes this season, that shot's going in. He took a mid-range.
Starting point is 00:49:28 Marino caught his miss and threw it in at the last second. Chandler makes that when it matters. So you're calling a game winner for Chandler during the season. He's going to learn from that. What's Michael Jordan say about all the shots he missed? That's in Colin Chandler's head right now. Everybody's walking around those shoes. Well, the ball in his hand, though.
Starting point is 00:49:45 Yeah, well, he be in the game. Yes. All right. Colin Chandler, I'm right in the stand. We have July 10th. Colin Chandler is going to hit a game. You're not even just saying about it. You're going to say a game winner.
Starting point is 00:49:57 Yes. He's going to be so hungry from missing out on the Kobe's. Yes. He'll be gone after this season. To the pros? Yes. I sleep on a nice king, temperedic mattress. You all sleep on Colin Chandler.
Starting point is 00:50:10 That's what I'm telling you right now. All right. He's not sophomore Nick Richards territory for me yet, but he's like we're getting there. This is a strong, all right. Listen, I can't say anything. Ryan got the dad right.
Starting point is 00:50:25 So maybe this will, maybe this will be true. Noah, go ahead, Noah. Hey, I'm just fine. I can believe in you in those donuts and Mario. I like the TikTok. All right.
Starting point is 00:50:39 He can't hear. He doesn't have the thing, but I'll tell him. Mario, he says he likes the TikTok. You follow KSR on TikTok? Yes, sir. All right. Well, I appreciate it.
Starting point is 00:50:48 We have now 32,000. followers on TikTok KSR underscore the show, I think. Is that right? That is. KSR underscore the show on the TikTok. I got a little, another helpful hint from a listener. He said,
Starting point is 00:51:03 my kid tried it last night, eating 10 and 15 minutes, got it done in 12 minutes and 34 seconds. How old is this kid? It doesn't say. It says, my kid. But he said,
Starting point is 00:51:12 take it slow, have a stopwatch, pace yourself, and water helped, but not too much. Well, if a kid did. I didn't know how old this kid is. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:19 I mean, if it's a 16. 16-year-old, 17-year-old, I don't know that that helps you. But if a 10-year-old did it, then I think you have to look at the parenting to allow that to happen. I'm calling CPS. And see what happens. But now, that should give you some confidence. It does.
Starting point is 00:51:36 I think the change from 10 to 15 minutes helps you. Yes. Absolutely. It helps. And then the $5,000. I mean, you are as driven by money as anyone. Because I'm flat broke right now. I need the money.
Starting point is 00:51:49 Well, and, you know, part of it. of that, I hope it makes you feel good that people, you know, it is clear, like, people are doing this because they love you. Well, like I said, it's very humbling, you know, that they want to smile and. And for people, like, Ryan's just had a lot in the last year. He's just had a lot.
