It's a day of destiny for Ryan Lemon here at his house, sponsored by CNS Pools. It is our Kentucky Office Highway Safety, KSR Safe Summer Driving Tour. And today it brings us to Ryan's house in Masterson Station. where he, you're going to have to move that fan, because every time it comes over, it's going into the mic. I'm definitely keeping it when I do the thing.
Starting point is 00:03:03 Okay. Now, it's still going to rotate to you if you don't move. Turn it all the way. Turn it all the weather. There you go. The KSR safe summer driving tour. We are at Ryan's house here with CNS Pools. You give a shout on the Clark's pump and shop phone line.
Starting point is 00:03:16 That's 859-280-20287. A-Vision Auto Glass Text Machine is 772-7-7-4-25-4 in this edition, sponsored by the T.J. Smith Law Office. If you call T. he'll make them pay. It is a beautiful day here in Lexington. Absolutely perfect weather. It's going to be hot, but it's not hot yet. But Ryan Limit is going for $5,000 in the inaugural donut challenge, 10 donuts from Jeff's donuts, thick donuts. Those of you online that were acting like they're just crispy creams. Oh, no. These are Jeff's donuts and they are thick.
Starting point is 00:03:48 And he will eat 10 and can win $5,000. And I have some news on that. But big thanks to CNS pools. They do pool construction, install, weekly maintenance, operated and owned here locally for 38 years based in Nicholsville. They're the go-to pool source. And, Ryan, your pool at the house is done from them. And I have to tell you, it's been a while since I've been here. I've forgotten how nice your pool was. They did a great job, man. We did a little research.
Starting point is 00:04:13 We decided to put a pool in. Somebody recommended CNS pools. During COVID, everybody wanted pools. They got it in. Now I've referred them to my neighbors. The entire football team is always here. Football team is usually here. So I love it.
Starting point is 00:04:25 They did such a great job. The weekly service is what's awesome. They come out once a week, test my chemicals, clean my pool. I don't have to do anything. It's a big pool. It's a big pool. It's a big pool.
Starting point is 00:04:32 It takes up most of his backyard. I know. I mean, this is like... Very nice. I think normally when I'm in your house, I'm inside trying to get your dog to shut up. I'm not out here with the pool. And it is very nice.
Starting point is 00:04:44 Our sales guy, Brandon, already has his shirt off. I thought Ryan, I had pretty big odds. He'd be the first one to have his shirt off, but it is Brandon. And here's the thing. So here's the news. For those of you haven't listened this week, I think most of you have. $5,000 if he eats 10 donuts.
Starting point is 00:04:59 Ryan claimed he could do it. We called it on him, and you, the fans, ended up donating the money. Over 300 donations to get us to $5,000. We got some good news today this morning, Drew. Tell me about it. Commonwealth Causes contacted me this morning. Said they want Ryan to be able to take the money, so they don't even feel guilty about it. So they are going to match the $5,000 and donate their $5,000 to charity in the charity of Ryan.
Starting point is 00:05:23 line's choice. So now Ryan can give to charity and take the money, $10,000 in stake for Jeff's donuts, $5,000 for the charity of his choice. Thank you very much to Commonwealth causes. More pressure, Drew, as now charitable causes need him to eat these donuts. I'm not even a participant and I feel the pressure. I can't imagine what going through Ryan Lemon's brain or more so his stomach right now, knowing there is now 10K on the line just to eat this box. that's sitting right in front of him a thousand a donut ryan living that's where we're at right now how awesome is that for commonwealth causes to step up and do something like that to a couple charities none of that cns pools is going to give money if i do it even if i don't charity of my choice if i do it
Starting point is 00:06:07 charity of their choice if i don't do it there's no don't do it okay this i do have my barf bucket right here beside this is all or nothing now that you've agreed to do it Ryan you you you got to accomplish oh i i did a lot of show prep last night Let me tell you what I did. I saw, did you go eat pasta? I googled what does Jimmy Chitwood, Joey Chestnut do? Jimmy Chitwood. What does Jimmy Chitwood do before the big game again in Hoosiers?
Starting point is 00:06:33 And he has pasta, red sauce, and grilled chicken. So what did I have? Fazzoli's pasta, red sauce, and chicken. I'm more jealous of that than I am the fact that you're getting $5,000 to eat 10. You think that's going to help pasta, red sauce and chicken? I mean, that's what Jimmy Chitwood eats. Work for Jimmy Chitwood. I guess it can work for Ryan Lemon.
Starting point is 00:06:49 Here's what else I did, Matt. I watched some game tape. Of who? Joy chestnut. Yeah, but I think you need to adjust your mindset. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't think stuffing your throat is what you need to do here. Now, I also don't think you should sit and savor at all.
Starting point is 00:07:05 But I don't think your problem is going to be getting it in your mouth. Like, I don't think you're, like, he's trying to eat 70 hot dogs. You got 15 minutes. You got a minute and a half of donut. I just think you need to worry about finishing it. I don't think speed, Drew, is going to be the issue. No, and I think his biggest concern, he's going to want to say hydrated. Your mouth is literally going to lock up.
Starting point is 00:07:30 Before your stomach taps out, your throat is going to be like, no, we are not swallowing more bread and sugar right now. So I would stick to the water. I think smashing is going to help you, too, to help get through that. But I think your mouth is going to tap out before your stomach does. I tweeted the picture of Jeff's donuts. You went and picked them up. Yes. And when you were able to put a visual on them, what were your thoughts?
Starting point is 00:07:51 I put a video out on Twitter. I held it up to my face. I kind of remembered how big they were. So this whole week, I've kind of known what we're dealing with. But even when I got there and picked one up, I was like, yeah, these are even bigger than I remembered. I mean, these are cakes. Yeah. They're like a little cake donut.
Starting point is 00:08:06 The box is heavy, just of 10 donuts. This box is heavy. When the donut is a foot by a foot and they only have six donuts in there, that's how you know, just to give you an idea of the size of the donuts and the density. I mean, it is thick. There's no air in the person behind me in line, we weren't having any. any conversation at all. I picked up the box, and as I was leaving, he said, Ryan's got this.
Starting point is 00:08:25 So at least one person in Jeff's this morning. See, I have the opposite view. Last night, my friend, the turkey hunter, asked me the odds. I said plus 275 he doesn't. When I saw the visual, now I'm up to like plus 450. Yeah. Maybe plus 5.50. This is going to be tough.
Starting point is 00:08:45 But think about what $5,000 can do. Think about what you could buy. what you could, you know, the, the charities. And then think about the charity. So now we're basically looking at $10,000. Now you don't have to feel guilty about it because the charities, whatever charity, what charity would you give it to? Well, Christian Appalachian Project, you were just on their podcast.
Starting point is 00:09:08 I was just on their podcast. I'm on their endorser. I probably would definitely give something to them. Okay, some. Yeah. All right. So he's not promising. Well, I mean, I'll take what else I want to do then.
Starting point is 00:09:18 I'm going to give some to my church right across the street, Center Point Christian Church. I've been through some dark, hard times the last couple of years, and that church has helped me probably more than anything. All right. Well, there you go. So that's very nice. So you got, this is going to be a day of joy.
Starting point is 00:09:34 Well, for some of us. Now, we're going to, we're going to stream this on Instagram and on TikTok. All right. So on Instagram, it'll be on KSR, what is it, underscore the show, and on TikTok, KSR the show. Mario is operating the Instagram. Brandon is operating the TikTok. Billy is going to have a microphone there next to you so we can hear your thoughts while it's happening.
Starting point is 00:10:02 And then Drew and Shannon and I will be the broadcasters. I went looking, by the way, for the radio broadcast of the Nathan's contest. Didn't help. I heard some of the call. Not, they don't do the best job with that on radio. We just need the subtle ambiance of like the. hiccups, the burps, everything that's, you know, the bodily functions that are happening with Ryan as he's trying to eat 10 donuts. So my question for you, 859-280-2287, if you're out there and you want to give him some words of advice, we will take the 1030 break, come back, let you, we'll come back, and then we'll do it all in one second.
Starting point is 00:10:39 We'll go, it'll be like when we used to have Cal or Pauple on, we do one long segment. And then we'll, so you'll have 15 minutes and we'll all get to hear it. I got my barf bag here. What have people been saying to you in the lead-up, like people in town? You got this. You can do this. I would do it. Who said they would do it?
Starting point is 00:10:57 But so all the people that are reaching out to me on social media, like, I can do that. But what about people actually in your life who do know you? Oh, well, Jennifer's kind of flipped a little bit. Yoga Girl's kind of on my side now. Oh, did you just say her name? I think he said. I think he just said her name. I think he just said her name.
Starting point is 00:11:12 I think there's been one other slip. Wow. Okay. See, this is like people saying, yeah, you're going to win that fight. Before you even see the opponent and the guy walks out and he's seven foot tall and 400 pounds. Yeah, everybody told Michael Spinks he would knock out Mike Tyson, but then he didn't. So, I mean, that doesn't mean anything. What about your friends?
Starting point is 00:11:30 Do they think this is a good idea or a bad idea? Well, they all think that I can do it because they said they can do it. They know, they're like, oh, I can do that. I can eat 10 donuts. Do you think these people have been to this donut place? I doubt it. They all think they're looking at like a crispy cream donut or a small donut, not one of these massive. These are super-sized donuts.
Starting point is 00:11:44 This is like a shot put-sized donut. How did the physical go yesterday? You don't have to get too personal, but are we good on this? I didn't bring it up. Okay. She didn't bring it up. So it was not discussed that I was doing this today. We just kind of let that go.
Starting point is 00:11:58 So otherwise good. Well, my blood pressure is a little high. Oh, good. I'm sure this will help today. We do have a doctor here. We got a medic here. So we do have a medic here. People asked about a medic.
Starting point is 00:12:07 Yeah. We do have a medic here. And Rob came. He was with Shannon on his walk. That's right. He was a big help on my walk, too. Yes. He was giving me the gun, the back massage.
Starting point is 00:12:18 I don't think that's going to help Ryan today, but it helped me. So official medic now, if he's done two events, I feel like Rob's. Yeah, Rob is kind of a chaos medic. That's exactly right. So we have a medic. You know, I've talked to people. They don't have medical training, but in general, people have said they think you'll be fine. I'll tell you, the text machine in general thinks you're going to be fine, so that's good.
Starting point is 00:12:39 I think most people think I can do it until you open that lid and I saw those donuts, like, oh, my goodness. All right. So this is, let's go final, final picks. Let's go around the room. Drew, will, yes or no, not percentage chance? Will he be able to do it? I love you, Ryan. I'm saying no.
Starting point is 00:12:59 I think he makes it awkward. I think he gets to like eight or nine, and then it's just weird for all of us, that he didn't do it, and he's going to want a little money, and we have to, like, debate that. I think he gets right up to the tent. No, no, first of all,
Starting point is 00:13:10 don't go into this with you get a little money. It's not per donut, okay? I agree. I'm saying he's going to make it, He's going to get right up to it and falls for it. So I say no. Final answer. Eight donuts is my prediction.
Starting point is 00:13:23 All right. What about for the gallery here? Yes or no? No. No. No. No. No one believer?
Starting point is 00:13:30 Mario. Mario. Mario also told me Bronny would score 20 points last year. Medic? No. Billy, no. I was a big believer. Shannon.
Starting point is 00:13:40 I was a big believer he could do this until 20 minutes ago when Drew showed up with the donuts. And I had one look at him and I go, he's toast. He's done. No way. No chance in hell. Yeah, I'm going to have to go no, too. I mean, I want you two, but I don't think you can't. I'm going to go ahead and take away my rule about you had to eat the first one regular. You can smash them all.
Starting point is 00:13:59 You can smash them all. If you want to smash them all, if you think that will help, I'll let you smash them all. You have to wait when the clock starts. If you want to, you can do that. You've got to eat the crumbs, too. You can't smash them and have crumbs go all over the ground. No, I mean, just right. You can't.
Starting point is 00:14:13 The crumbs are what they are. You just can't, like, scrape them. off. You just got to, you got to, you got to just bam. But I'll let you do that because I'm worried you're only going to get to like five. Well, like I said, I got some tips from Jimmy Chitwood. He stands. Joey Chesney. He stands up. I'm going to stand up. You're going to stand up. Yeah. I don't know. Maybe it's gravity. Something helps by standing up. The donuts go to your feet. He takes little sips of water. And Rob even said that takes little sips of water as you go along. He does. And he eats like, eats two hot dogs at a time. So I can smash two at a time.
Starting point is 00:14:43 That's your best move. You're going to eat. Oh, you're going to eat two at a time. I would try to smash three. No, do two because you're not used to open in your throat. Well, maybe you are. I don't know. But you're not used to open in your throat like that. We don't know to Heimlich. We're not giving your mouth to mouth.
Starting point is 00:14:56 Yeah, just do two and it'll be fine. We got people writing in. We have someone listening right now from Seoul, South Korea for this. Oh, my. We have someone listening from Indonesia. Oh, this is a worldwide event. This is a worldwide event. And then the new owner of OBW is listening from Wales.
Starting point is 00:15:14 Well, nice. A lot of people are here ready for this. I'm about to prove each and every one of you dudes wrong. No, Mario said you could do it. Mario's got me. Look at his forehead. He's already got the meat sweats. Why did you choose?
Starting point is 00:15:27 Why are you in the only seat that's in the sun? You told me to sit here. I didn't have a choice. They can move you to where you're not in the sun. You sit over there. I'll switch you. I wore sunscreen thinking I'd be in the sun. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:39 So what I'm going to stand up. I won't be in the sun when I stand up. Okay. All right. 8-5-9-2-80. He will tip off at 10.30. When we come back, we're going to talk just a second about some raised prices in tickets for games, and then the second half of the hour. Ryan Limon versus for $10,000 for charity, but also for his pocket.
Starting point is 00:16:01 It's Ryan Lemon versus donuts next to our Kentucky Sports Radio. Last night, a blown call changed the game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. On Hurtle with Emily Abadi, we sit down with the most inspiring women in sports and wellness, professional athletes, coaches, and Olympic champions to talk about the challenges that shaped them and the mindset that keeps them going from the WNBA standout Kate Martin and rising hockey star Layla Edwards. If a boy can do it, I don't see why a girl can't. Like, I've never understood that. Like, it didn't make sense in my brain. It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you, but don't ever feel like you don't
Starting point is 00:19:28 feel like you don't feel like. Don't let that be the reason you don't do it. An Olympic champs Gabby Thomas and Katie Ladeke. Starting point is 00:20:00 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHart Women's Sports. Welcome back at this Kentucky Sports Radio here at Ryan Lemon's house. Sponsored by CNS Pools, 38 years of service. They did this one, which is absolutely beautiful here. It also has a hot tub on it. You can do it at your house. One day I'll do it at mine.
Starting point is 00:20:21 I'll probably have one, but I won't get in it. I wouldn't have to leave my house if I had this. How often do you get in there, Ryan? Every day. We get in the hot tub right here. We'll sit just like a Brandon and Ryan, he's guys doing this. Sit here, have a couple drinks and put your feet in the end. Apparently people are telling me you said Jennifer's name yesterday.
Starting point is 00:20:37 So are you like officially trained? transitioning from Yoga Girl to Jennifer now on the show? I guess it slipped out a couple times. I didn't realize they even said it yesterday. Apparently, people say you do. They also say she introduced herself on the ladies of KSR page. Yesterday? I mean, I'm not trying to like blow your mind.
Starting point is 00:20:53 I'm just telling you that's what people said. It's getting serious, Ron. It is getting serious. She and I were in here last night doing some show prep. I mean, how could she not love you after this? Yeah. Like what woman wouldn't have wanted this fine package? Are you going shirt on or shirt off?
Starting point is 00:21:08 Well, it's a CNS pool shirt. I think I need to keep it on, kind of a rep, rep the brand. You can Hulk up at the end, though, and just tear it. Yeah, I do think, though, like, you're going to get stuff all over it. Yeah. So you might want to think about shirt off. I got my, I got a slobber towel here, Kentucky Wesleyan slober towel. I don't use the word slobber.
Starting point is 00:21:24 There's no, don't use that word. All right. Before we, so before we get started, real quick, they announced Drew that the student ticket pricing for UK games has gone from $200 for the season to $345. A pretty big jump going for football from $90 for the season to $145. Now, on the one hand, season tickets for $345 doesn't sound crazy. On the other hand, it's a huge rise. And in 2015, when we were 38 and 1, if you were a student, you could go to the game for $5, which is probably, was that what it was when you win? Oh, I'm an old head.
Starting point is 00:22:03 I missed the old days. We'd go to the Memorial Coliseum for the lottery. at the very top on a Tuesday night and maybe end up with nothing. Did you have to pay anything? I think it was five bucks. Five bucks. Okay. So what's your take on a pretty substantial leap?
Starting point is 00:22:18 And also, by the way, all faculty and staff at UK no longer gets their discount for games. They used to get a discount to go to games. That's now gone to. Your thoughts about that? Well, I didn't even realize students were paying as much as they were. Not that that's a ton, but for a student, you know, you should have that benefit, five, ten, whatever it is. but then it's a massive increase just in one season,
Starting point is 00:22:40 even though it's not a huge, really a dollar amount, probably just to college kids, but still to go from more than the exact numbers again. It was 200 for the year to now it's 345. Yeah, I mean, you're nearly doubling it to them right between seasons. So, no, I don't like it at all. Basically 20 home games, Shannon, that now goes into 20 home games, so $10, I guess what?
Starting point is 00:23:03 $10 piece? What am I talking about it? Yes. I'm not sure how the mouth or was $10 a piece. Now it's whatever $345. Yeah, I mean, that's a lot. I mean, I remember being back in college and $200 was a big deal. So we always talk about trying to make the.
Starting point is 00:23:16 And if you buy individual games, if you don't get the season thing, it's $25. You don't get those December games. So take those days. Whenever you're off, I don't think students get those. Oh, that's right. So that's probably how you get the difference. We always try to talk about making the fan experience better. And I don't know how this is making any better.
Starting point is 00:23:31 I mean. But at the same time, it's kind of inevitable. Right? I mean, with the paying players. So the students got to pay for it? Well, I mean, I don't know if the students need to be the one to pay for it, but somebody's got to pay for it. I think it's probably, I think the theory, listen,
Starting point is 00:23:47 I think, I wish the students would go for free. I wish they could sit in a front row. I think the theory probably is that raise, while a big raise on paper, it's still a relatively affordable game, whereas, like, the people that sit in the upper arena, how much more can you make their tickets and they still come? And they get great seats, the students as well. Two things.
Starting point is 00:24:05 One, I really, really appreciate UK doing this right when my kid's about to enroll in UK. That makes me so happy. That's true. This year. I mean, it's perfect timing. And the second thing is, we know faculty and staff, man. They get those discounted tickets, and then they turn around and sell them. So I don't have.
Starting point is 00:24:20 How do you know that? Oh, come on, man. They do that. Look, you just, you go eat your donuts and take shots of UK faculty and staff? I took a shot at Jobie Hall. Now I'm taking a shot at the faculty staff. Man, Joe B. Hall, smack across the face. Now you're going after the UK faculty.
Starting point is 00:24:34 and staff. So I don't mind that at all, them getting up because they just make a profit on them. They just turn around and sell them. They go to some, but he had you. I'm married to a UK faculty member. I like our business. You're going to apologize to Abby? We've sold zero tickets. Abby is one of the great ones. You bet you think the other ones are? I'm just going to lay it out there. How do you know? It's just kind of a common problem. Coming for who? Common for faculty and staff. I can tell you all our household is never done that. I'm sure listening right now who are who have completely flipped on you and now don't want you to make it. Bring it on.
Starting point is 00:25:09 Well, I mean, I do think this is the start, though, of the kind of thing you're going to see. Sure it is. It just is. This is where we're headed where you're going to see a lot more things kind of increase like this because I think it's inevitable. All right. Let's get a couple people before we start. Who's up first, John? Tommy.
Starting point is 00:25:25 Tommy. What do you got to say to my man Lemon? Yeah. I was wondering if we could weigh him before to ask us to see how much. It would be interesting. Do you have a scale? Yeah. Do you have a scale? Yeah. You go do it? Yeah. Yeah. Once you quickly, you got three and a half minutes.
Starting point is 00:25:42 See if you can get back before the end of the segment. Go weigh and then we'll see what he is, what he is before and after. I don't know how much you put on. We might need decimal points to really know, but you think he puts on a full pound? Oh, I think so, yeah. Looking at the size of those donuts. That's probably, what, three pounds of donuts? Yeah, and then the water. Don't forget about the water. And last night's And the Fazoli. And the Fizzolis. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:04 He should have weighed yesterday. That would have been, that would have been interesting. We could have done an official way in. Had people come out and watch. He could stand on those old scales. I'm really more interested in seeing his blood sugar level before and after. If we could get that, that would be, I think he'd be more. I've been told by people and I appreciate the call, but that immediate thing, it's more of a long term.
Starting point is 00:26:23 With the spike and blood sugar? I mean, there'll be a spike. Yeah. He'll be okay. Yeah. What about the sugar crash that comes later? He's going to have to worry about that, too. Well, I'm going out of town.
Starting point is 00:26:31 So you're going worried about it. You're like, I don't care. I don't have to deal with that part of it. Yeah, I mean, that's more for you all. So, I mean, I'm going out of town. So I feel like you guys can kind of, can kind of handle that. I got to say, the more I look around at Ryan's pool, the less I want him to have, well, I want him to have the $5,000. But whatever he has to go through this afternoon, I'm not feeling that sympathetic.
Starting point is 00:26:50 If he just has to lay here in a swimming pool after eating donuts. He doesn't exactly live. I feel like I'm at a resort right now. Yeah, he doesn't live in a shoebox. This is a very nice house with a very nice pool. And he has nothing to do. I think Friday's his big nap day. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:02 So once he gets through it, I think he'll be fine long term. I'm excited for him. He deserves it. And I think it's going to, I hope he gets it. I don't think he will, but I hope he gets it. Who's up next? Rob. Rob, go ahead, Rob.
Starting point is 00:27:18 Hey, guys. Just a quick question. You think we could get Mark Polk to sign his Burke bid and then just bid it off and add another 10 grand on the. And also, did this guy eat breakfast this morning? If so, how much? And what did he have? I don't think he ate breakfast. I think he intentionally left it open this morning.
Starting point is 00:27:38 If he does get it, though, I think we should take the bib and hang it up in KS. Bar. I feel like there would be a great memento if we could hang up. I did say to him, go away quickly and come back. And he hasn't even walked out the door. I mean, he's tipping the scale. You know what he's having to do? He's having right now to go find the scale because he's probably not been on it.
Starting point is 00:27:56 He's a number of years. And then he's got to replace the batteries. And he's going to miss the start of this. making more room. Here he comes. Here he comes. Who's up next? Doing good. Doing good. Come on, hurry, Ryan. We just got a minute. Doing good. Go ahead. Gentlemen, I'm doing good. I hope you're doing well. Ryan, have you ever been intimidated by a donut? Ryan's not on the night. Ryan's not on. But yes, he is. Yes, he is not. Okay. I'm sure. If there was anybody on the staff that was made for this day, it is Ryan Lemon. He is a Kentucky television and radio legend. Ryan sees your donut destiny.
Starting point is 00:28:34 He says, you got it, big guy. All right, I got to cut you off. Appreciate the call. He weighs before it starts 216.8 pounds, 216.8 pounds of just absolute muscle. When we come back, that muscle will be put to the test as he tries to eat 10 Jeff's donuts in just 15 minutes for $10,000. That's right up next here on Kentucky Sports Radio. Welcome back. Kentucky Sports Radio. The segment sponsored by Shadyrays and CNS pool Shadyrays.com. You can get the sunglasses you want at the price you deserve. We all have Shadyrays on right now. Getting ready for the contest. Go to Shadyrays.
Starting point is 00:29:14 Go to Shadyrays. Louisville, Lexington, best sunglasses, best price, and all the protection you need, plus the best replacement warranty out there at Shady Rays. It is the Ryan Lemon Donut Challenge. Ten donuts, big, thick ones. 15 minutes. I'll explain the seven. up here. He's going to sit there. We're going to start the clock. Drew has the clock. Drew, you're going to keep track of time. I got it. Mario is operating the Instagram camera, KSR underscore show. Brandon is operating the TikTok camera. You can go to KSR show on TikTok. The show. KSR, the show on TikTok. Billy has the handheld. He is our sideline reporter in a skimpy dress. Billy, real quick, how's the contestant? Now ask him. Brian, how are you?
Starting point is 00:30:03 I feel like there's no I in Ryan, and I'm going to win this challenge. All right, here we go. I don't even know what that means. That is not a good start to this. One donut at a time. All right, here we go. You can watch it on stream. We'll do our best to narrate it.
Starting point is 00:30:18 I'm going to count you down. Three, two, one, go for $10,000. All right, so, Shannon, he's starting by smashing him. He's going with two first. It looks like he's eating a huge heavy hamburger to go with it. I think in a good early speed. I like the strategy so far. Yeah, he's already got, what would you say, maybe 10% of the first one down?
Starting point is 00:30:42 Yeah, it's going to take him a while. We won't sit here and narrate all pieces of it, but we'll give you a greater notion of the scene. He still looks pretty good. Smart strategy with the smash here. Let me ask you a question, Shannon. Drew $10,000. Early in the week, I kind of was of the belief that not only did he not, I didn't think he wanted to do it. I didn't know if he was going to try. What do you think was the amount of
Starting point is 00:31:03 money where he then decided I'm actually going to give this my full effort? I'm going to say right when it crossed the thousand mark. I think that that extra digit probably lit a little fire in him and then as he got higher and higher and up to five and then Lord, we're at 10 now. I think that's when he really got locked in and knew what he had to do. All right. I'm a little concerned, Shannon, because he's got two donuts going at once. Yeah. The speed, is maybe a little. Okay, now he started dunking in water. For the first time, for the first time we dunked in water. Now, for him to be able to do this, he's basically got to do three donuts, or excuse me, he's got it. He's one every 90 seconds, right? Got him one every 90 seconds, but he's doing them two at a time. So every three minutes, he needs to finish one of these donut sandwiches. Right now, he's on a decent pace, but I would argue he might need to be ahead of pace if he's going to be able to do it towards the end. If he were trying to do it perfectly, he's right there because he's halfway through that two stack and he just did a minute and a half.
Starting point is 00:32:02 But like I said, you need to be, you just sprint in the beginning so you can kind of walk at the end. I think you need to give yourself some buffer. Let's go to the whip. He is now, he's now starting to dip in water. Do you think that's a good decision? I would actually think while it's easier to go down, it might be kind of grosser. It also gives you, I guess, more volume in your stomach, too. You've got to think about that.
Starting point is 00:32:24 He's drinking a lot of water. It works for Joey Chestnut in the hot dog eating contest, but I'm not so sure it's going to help here with the donuts. I've noticed he hasn't moved his eyes. He's just staring straight. He's not smiling. He's not looking at us. For those of you on the stream, nonstop. For those of you on the stream, what are the stream comments looking like?
Starting point is 00:32:41 Are people feeling like it's going well? Okay. Brandon says a lot of people think it's going well. What is he at, Drew? It has been two and a half minutes right now. He's on the right pace. He's on the right pace. He is, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:53 I worry that he's not ahead of pace. But he is on the right pace. Let me take a quick second to thank the people who help make this possible. First of all, Paris Town for having the contest that made this an idea. Although I thought it was donut holes and it was actually, or I thought it was donuts and it was donut holes, which would have made a difference. And also, Commonwealth causes for the $5,000, CNS pools for donating some extra money and really the listeners. Drew, can you believe the listeners donated this much money? When you all were talking about maybe getting over a thousand, I knew we'd get over a thousand.
Starting point is 00:33:25 I knew we'd get over a thousand, but I didn't have five. I didn't have that high. And it was fun. I guess that was two nights ago watching the GoFundMe climb before we had even been on the show to talk about it. Two donuts have been completed. Two donuts have been completed. We have eight donuts to go. Just over three minutes.
Starting point is 00:33:41 So he's on track right now. He's now starting to get a little bit behind. But remember, all he has to do is have it in his mouth. He doesn't have to necessarily eat the last one. That better. That's better. That's why we bring on expert analysts. He does for the last couple.
Starting point is 00:33:55 He can just stuff them in his mouth. He doesn't have to have them swallowed. So actually, probably has more time than we realize. I appreciate you, Mr. Tom Brady, for figuring that out. You're very welcome. Yeah, he's on a good pace right now. He's, oh, gosh, things are dripping out of his mouth. The running, the running sugars is pretty gross.
Starting point is 00:34:11 It's starting to look like the hot dog getting shot. John, are you watching it? I am watching it, yes. And what are your early thoughts of getting to actually see the visual? I'm seeing a lot of people, and I agree with them, saying that he's taking too long. There are some people who think you're taking too long. Now, he needs to be close. Are we at close to four and a half minutes right now?
Starting point is 00:34:32 We just crossed four minutes. Cross four minutes. So he's still on an okay pace, but he's going to have to, I think, hurry it up just a little bit. I'm watching his stomach expand in real time right now. He just went from a size 38 to a size 40. My biggest concern is that Robert the medic has now moved closer to Ryan. I don't know if that's just because he wants to see it better or if I have a concern. Billy, I don't want to get in the way of his eating, but what are your quick thoughts being next to him and hearing his grunts?
Starting point is 00:35:02 It's one of the more disgusting things I've heard. Somebody chew, but I'm proud of him, but you've got to pick up the pace a little bit. All right. Let's just quickly sit the mic next to him. Quick sound, Ryan. Say something. How are you feeling? It's getting tough.
Starting point is 00:35:17 Oh, gosh. Yeah, and it's still early. Billy is it what we call the splash. All right next to the bucket. He's finished five minutes. Spend five minutes. Three, so he is exactly on pace. He has basically finished three donuts in five minutes.
Starting point is 00:35:30 Look at him compacting the donuts right now in between his two fists. He's got that glazed donut all over. The reason I'm saying he's on pace is I do think he can get the last donut just in his mouth. That's the thing, yeah. That's all he has to have. You know, as long as he has the buzzer beater out of his fingertips, that's all that matters to win this. There's no doubt, however, Drew, that the pace is slowly. I'm a live bet guy.
Starting point is 00:35:52 If we're live betting, he is a huge underdog to get this done right now. The odds have shifted based on pace, but we're a big horse racing state. We know sometimes you just wait to hit the gas. You wait for that stretch before you go to the whip, and maybe that's what Ron Lemon's doing. Hey, let me know. How many people are on our Instagram thing right now? I'd like to see how many people do we have watching the stream at this moment? 2,500 people watching only on Instagram?
Starting point is 00:36:18 What on TikTok? 800 on TikTok. There are over 3,000 people watching you live in addition to tens of thousands on the radio. He has slowed down a lot. I'm starting to worry about this. I feel like he's taking way too much time right now. Where are we on the minutes? Where are we on?
Starting point is 00:36:37 Turn that off because we can hear it over the radio. Where are we on the minutes? Just crossed over the six minute mark. Six minute mark. So I would say he's two bites behind the time. Would you agree? Yep. He's got to pick up the pace a little bit if he's going to pull this off.
Starting point is 00:36:49 He's still got six donuts. All right. Well, hopefully he'll get it. Let's go to the phones real quick. Who's on the phone, John? All right. John hung up on everybody. What do you all think? He's really getting in the water. He's really soaking these now. I think it's too much water, but I do think it is hurting his stomach. So we do have to ask a question. And I'll take a quick vote of the audience. Because do we want to make it to where we give him 17 minutes? No. I wanted to give him 10. No. No, no. It was 10. 10 was never going to happen. That's how the challenge happened, though. That was the original question.
Starting point is 00:37:26 I was confident on the show he could do 10 and 10. There are people yelling from over the fence. Listen, dude, that's Dante. Dante has shown up. Come on, Ryan. You cannot. He cannot fail with Dante here. The immortal.
Starting point is 00:37:39 Let's go. Let's go. All right, let's get some energy in you. Let's go, Ryan. Let's go. Here we go, Ryan, let's go. Come on. Remember, at the end, Ryan, all you got to do is stuff them in your mouth.
Starting point is 00:37:50 Here he goes, number five and six. It is, we're starting to get, oh, wait a minute, it's going three. That's a triple smash. Oh, he's going triple. A triple smash. Oh, what do we think about the decision? I've never seen a game changer. This could be where he gains ground right here.
Starting point is 00:38:03 This is actually how he, oh, wait a minute, is he double eating the triple smash? So it's a six layer? Oh, no. He's folded it into a six layer. Oh, no. These are six layers of donuts. Oh, no. Oh, goodness.
Starting point is 00:38:17 I'm, I don't like the look of that. Is he about to fall over? He's got the meat sweat. Just no emotion over here. He still hasn't even acknowledged all of us over here talking. Oh, my. Oh, look, did you see those bites, though? That was a giant bite. We heard earlier, you got to limit your bites.
Starting point is 00:38:33 Was he doing a Muhammad Ali rope-a-dope? I think he was. He was going slow to get everybody. And now he's going to come in with the left and right, because the pace has oddly sped up a little bit. I thought that he would slow down. It looked like, you know, there for a minute. He didn't have a chance.
Starting point is 00:38:49 So give me time. What is our time right now? Just before you do that, we have basically four and a half donuts left. So he means, I don't know, he's probably got six minutes. Six and a half. He might be back on pace. I don't know. Six and a half minutes, he's still got three and a half plus what he's got in his hand right now.
Starting point is 00:39:07 He's using a lot of water. Water's cloudy. The lot is, oh, does he drink? Is he drinking water? He is. Yeah, he's got a water bottle and he's got a dipping cup. I will say, I don't know if he can keep it up. I can't look.
Starting point is 00:39:21 Yeah, this is starting to get to a level where I can't look. We'll say. Dante, we need you. Dante was the one that energized him. Bring Dante back. The donuts are starting to look like oatmeal with the water. They're getting running. May I tell you, there's a woman here who brought her child.
Starting point is 00:39:36 Originally, they were standing next to ride. They've gotten slowly more and more repulsed, and they have moved to the other side of the pool, I think, to hide the child from the visual. Would you agree? This is now TV 14 viewing here. change the rating from G to TV 14. This has become, I would say if we were doing,
Starting point is 00:39:56 I would say right now we are almost finished with eight donuts. I think we're somewhere between seven and a half and eight donuts. Do you agree with that? He's about halfway through that triple stack, whatever the math is on that. And we are 10 seconds from the five-minute mark. Okay. Boy, this is going to be, he's still a little behind. He really started the triple quickly.
Starting point is 00:40:17 Let's go in with Ryan. What's he thinking right now, Billy? Ryan, what do you got? I don't know. That's a great quote. Put it on a t-shirt. I don't know. Quote Ryan Lemon.
Starting point is 00:40:28 I think he realized he signed up for way more than he bargained for. Dejected, I don't know. Robert, was that we good? Everybody all right? He's filming it, so he's probably going to be. I mean, it's Ryan good. I was checking our medic. No, we have crossed the point to where Ryan regrets this right now.
Starting point is 00:40:42 Let me ask you quickly. Before you take your next bite, Ryan, do you regret? Yes. Okay, all right, here we go. I can see it in a space. But you know what? Let me just say. There is $10,000 sitting there. You have finished, I would say, for the folks at home, you've finished six donuts, probably. I would say six. Oh, no. Oh, my goodness. This is becoming. Four minutes left. Four minutes left. And three to go. They're going to kick us off. Remember, though, remember the last one you could just stuff in your face and finish it later.
Starting point is 00:41:17 I don't want to tell you how much time's left. We're under four minutes. His hand is noticeably shaking right now. We're under four minutes. That's the sugar. He'll be fine. That's the sugar, okay. I will let you, Ryan, if you decide. You are allowed to tap out.
Starting point is 00:41:30 Remember that. I'm not telling you to tap out, but you are allowed to tap out if you want to, if you want to tap out. We are moving towards the finals of the challenge here. He's not, he's not tapping out. He's not tapping out. Billy, I'll do like we do in the WWE. Does he want to tap out? Do you want to tap out, Ron?
Starting point is 00:41:47 No. Oh, confident there. Three and a half minutes. Three and a half minutes. Three and a half donuts. No, that's exactly right. Three and a half minutes. Three and a half donuts.
Starting point is 00:41:58 Would you suggest these last three he does one at a time? Would you suggest these last three he does one at a time? Or does he stomp it together for one last go? The smash strategy has gotten them this far, all right? So you dance with a partner you took to the dance. So what I mean is he's got to stay with the strategy that he has started with. Smash those donuts. those donuts, cram them down that gullet.
Starting point is 00:42:18 I think at this point he's got to hope a bird comes by and helps him out. He's just too far behind. The triple stack is a good idea, but look how much it slowed him down. It has slowed him down. All right, Billy, you're right there next to him. How does my man look? Wait a minute. Is he going to the...
Starting point is 00:42:35 No, he's his wiping. How's he look? A little pill? In pain. He looks in pain. Ryan, check in with us. How are we feeling? Not good.
Starting point is 00:42:46 All right, do you want, I'm very close to throwing in the flag for it. Two and a half minutes. I'm going to go ahead. That was so close. Yeah, I'm going to go ahead. I'm going to throw in the flag right there for Ryan living. There you go. Ryan, let's go ahead and let's call it off.
Starting point is 00:42:59 As in your manager, I'm going to throw the flag in for you. Hand the mic. Are you okay with that? Ryan. How much time I got left? Two minutes. I can do it. He can do it.
Starting point is 00:43:10 Oh, I'm not going anywhere. You take your towel and throw it back outside of the ring. He is going for it. He is going for it. I'm sitting down. I don't know. I think this is a bad decision. I think this is not a good decision.
Starting point is 00:43:22 Your heart was in the right place. My heart was in the right place. His head is not in the right place. For those of you, my, I am trying. He is a grown man, but I'm trying to get him to tap out. Come on, Ryan. There's more sugar. Oh, wait a minute.
Starting point is 00:43:35 Hold this. Oh, he's hunking up. He's doing the triple smash. Oh, my goodness. Okay, now remember, it just has to be in your mouth. Can he put three donuts in his? mouth. Oh my goodness. How much time's left? A minute and a half. He's got it 90 seconds. Oh, no. You're supposed to do one every 90 seconds. He's going to try to do three. This is a train wreck that, oh,
Starting point is 00:43:58 can he average three? That's one every 30 seconds. Can he do it? No, he hasn't started the last three yet. Rob, how does he look? No, he's struggling. He's struggling. Oh, wait a minute. He's making a ball. Wait a minute, he's making a ball. This is a size of a softball. What are you going to do with that? No, don't Don't put that on. Oh, he drops that. Oh, okay. Everybody give Ryan Lemonet round of applause. One minute.
Starting point is 00:44:24 Seven donuts. He came up just a little. I think when he got his. No, no. He's back. Wait a minute. What are you doing? What are you doing?
Starting point is 00:44:36 Oh, stop. Oh, no. How much time? How much time, Drew? How much time, Drew? Did you stop it? 10 seconds less than that minute. 10 seconds. Did you stop it?
Starting point is 00:44:46 No, it's still going. Oh, my goodness. How much time? Oh, no. 40-some seconds? 40 seconds. Oh, my goodness. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:44:53 Get away from this, man. He's about the, he's about the blow chunks. Get away. Bucket's getting some action here. He's in this flash, though. Okay, that's it. If he throws up, that's it. That's it.
Starting point is 00:45:03 That's it. That's it. Stopping the fight. It was a valued effort. That is a very valiant effort. Eight and a half donuts is what he ended up with. A lot of people predicted between eight. and nine, eight and a half donuts ends up the final call, Billy.
Starting point is 00:45:19 Let's go down to the sidelines, Billy. What do we think? Let's go to our contest. Ryan, how you feeling right now? I feel like I let my team down. I feel like, you know, you try to take one donut at a time. There's no I and KSR, but I feel like I failed my team and everybody who's donated. So I'm very sorry.
Starting point is 00:45:37 Don't be sorry. All right, first of all, you gave a valued effort. I think a lot of people did not think you would even get to eight and a half. You got to eight and a half. When did it start hitting you? One. I got halfway through that first one and realized this is a mistake. Did you really? So thick, man, those are so thick. How's your body feel right now? It's not too bad, really. Okay, well, come away yourself real quick before we go to break here and let's see what eight and a half donuts for does for you. 216.8 was the original and now 217.8. You can eat eight and a half. Donuts, Jess, and only gain a pound. Well, that's instantly. I mean, wait until later on tomorrow when it all soaks in. He'll gain more on the way.
Starting point is 00:46:20 Okay, all right. We're going to take a break and be right back. Eight and a half donuts is the final number for Ryan Lemon. This is on Kentucky Sports Radio.
