They do pool construction, install, and weekly maintenance. It's a Kentucky Office Highway Safety, KSR Safe Summer Driving Tour.
Starting point is 00:03:20 CNS Pools is in Nicholsville, and they'll come in your area and build a pool for you. The text machine is full of great comments, Drew. One person writes, this loss is up there with 2015 Wisconsin for me. Wow. That is. Wow. You know, the energy did deflate a little when you weren't able to do it. One person writes, Matt, you set Ryan up to fail by giving cake donuts. I don't think that was nice of you. This was not. That was the original question. That was the question. This was not set up as a contest. Ryan has had those donuts before. I was just Like, how many donuts could you eat?
Starting point is 00:03:54 Ryan knew what the donuts were, and he said, I could eat 10, and I said, I bet you can't, and then that's where we got this. This wasn't like an eerie way to try to make. I want Ryan, why do I care if he gets the money? I want him to get the money. I'm going to give you my money anyway. No, don't do that. Well, at least buy your new hat.
Starting point is 00:04:12 That's my racing Rams hat. You have it on reverse. You have it on inside out. That's all right. He's a little flustered right now. My man's got a sugar. I'd had two more men. minutes. Maybe in just one more minute. I think I would have got it.
Starting point is 00:04:24 Well, you spabbed them all together in a big ball. You think you went too slow at the beginning? Yeah. I mean, I couldn't go any faster. They were so thick. If I hadn't known to dip them in the water from the very beginning, maybe had another minute. I could cut it. You should have done that. 859-2-80-2287. If you have words of encouragement for rhyme, please do it. Are you think you're going to be able to get through this hour? Yeah, I just took two Advil. My medic here's been talking to me, telling me to hydrate. I got in the pool. I'm surprised it was only a pound. Me too. I thought it was going to be like two or two and a half pass.
Starting point is 00:04:54 Well, it feels like it's growing in my stomach right now. Wait until later. You think it's growing? Oh, it's like stock to mortgage. It's growing. Don't up, baby. It is. All right, so Commonwealth cause is still going to give the $5,000 to the charity of your choice.
Starting point is 00:05:10 What good people those are? They're great people. So that's very nice of them. And you're going to, well, you can figure out what it is. You can talk with Stephen and make that happen. As far as the money on the go fund meet, I'm going to have to, the return it. I understand that there's people who would keep it, but some people
Starting point is 00:05:25 might not, and I can't just make that decision for everybody. I can't, I'd love to, but you know, when people donate, that's with the thing, so I'm going to have to give it back. But Ryan Lemon, a lot of messages that people would have just kept it for the entertainment in and of itself.
Starting point is 00:05:41 I've not checked my phone yet. I'm a little afraid to. Once you check your phone. See if your girlfriend is mad at you for not getting it done. After not wanting you to do it, she might now be mad that you lost, I know vacation money uh yeah five thousand dollars the success rate of ksr challenges is not great you except for me i'm the only one you made the claim that walking was a lot harder than donuts it looks like that might have been true i think it was should you go walk 50 miles maybe walk off those
Starting point is 00:06:08 donuts now i couldn't walk five miles that little 50 miles uh they were saying that they think you'll start feeling this this afternoon yeah i feel starting to feel it right now i feel worse now i did one during the challenge well you had adrenaline going yeah yeah i was trying to trying to tune you guys out and stay mentally sharp and focus. I blame Billy. He kept sticking that microphone in my face. Well, he was doing his job. That's sideline reporting is part of all sports nowadays.
Starting point is 00:06:33 Well, he interviews jockeys at the derby. I mean, that's a professional that was talking about. That's true. An equally good shape here as what he does. He is a racehorse. So we'll keep checking him with you through and things. See how you're feeling. 859-28027.
Starting point is 00:06:47 If you want, you got thoughts for my man, Ryan. Give us a shout, John. you're going to have to look up to make it happen. Let's go to this weekend. I told you last week, I said the Reds have to go five and two or the summer of Ellie is over. I said four and three, it'll still be there, but it'll be struggling.
Starting point is 00:07:04 They lost the first two. Then they won the last two. So if they sweep the Rockies, the five and two still happens. Even two and one will hang on. But I'm going ahead and go on record, Drew. If they go one and two to the Rockies at home, the Summer Valley will have ended, and I won't bring it up again.
Starting point is 00:07:20 I probably will, but it will only be out of frustration. Well, having just seen the Rockies in person last week, you might want to shut down the whole season if you can't win two more against the Rockies. They can't seem to beat anyone, so it's the perfect team to be in front of you when you need to get these wins. I think the Reds will get it done. Last night, the game was at 5 o'clock, which I didn't realize, so I got rid of my tickets. And there was a concert by something called Old Dominion there. I don't know if you saw the crowd. Like, they got so many people there.
Starting point is 00:07:50 for Old Dominion. Did you even know who that was? I'd heard of them, but if you said right now, name me an Old Dominion song, I couldn't do it. Is it country? Yeah. So I know that they exist, but I'm not really that familiar with them. Well, it has to be a little depressing for the Reds,
Starting point is 00:08:03 because if you look at when the game starts, if you looked at the crowd, it was absolutely empty. Everybody was there for Old Dominion. But by the seventh inning, when it was six-nothing Reds, all of a sudden the place was packed. And Jeff Brantley, on the radio broadcast, kept going, late arriving crowd, starting to, fill in, ready for the end of the game.
Starting point is 00:08:21 He tried to act like the concert was not happening, which I thought was kind of fun. To be fair, five o'clock is a really odd time to start a baseball game. Yeah, they did it for the concert. For the concert. If you're the Reds, you know where you stand in popularity. You're at least beneath Old Dominion if they're just showing up to watch them and not you. Yes. John, what's up first?
Starting point is 00:08:40 We're still empty. John, are you not? I know. There's no way people are not calling after this. Unless we're having issues with the phone lines. I got right in front of me. Right, here. Should we call, there's no way that there are not people calling to talk to Ryan right now. I don't believe it. I think I love you, John, but I think you're not looking at the phone. I would not do that, so I don't appreciate you saying that. We'll see. We'll see. 859-28027. How we doing? I feel it. What do you mean? It's growing. It's growing. All that yeast and dough and stuff in my stomach. I bet I weigh 220 now.
Starting point is 00:09:18 All right, well, why don't you come see? Yeah, why don't you come see? I don't really understand the signs, though, of how you would weigh more. Sugar, I guess, has to convert to fat. And again, I don't know what I'm talking about, but I think there's something. You think it can happen that quick? All right, it was 218.8. So you've put on 1.2 pounds since the break.
Starting point is 00:09:40 Since the break. Because he was 2.16 to start, right? Then he was 217. Now he's 218. Wasn't it 216? Yeah. And it was 217. How did you put on 1.2 pounds since the last segment?
Starting point is 00:09:50 Dude, I feel it. He ate seven donuts. He'll do it to you. You think he's going to be in the low 220s? Every commercial break will... That is amazing to me that you put on 1.2 pounds. He's growing like a blimp. I feel it.
Starting point is 00:10:09 I can definitely feel it in a segment. I need yoga girl here to help me out. Bown chicle pown. Okay. It's the sugar talking. Stop. That was the worst. 859.
Starting point is 00:10:24 Move the fan. It blows on the thing. 859-2-80-2287. I'll tell you what, we need to take a break right here so we can get all this reset. Stockton mortgage. Tell me about Stockton mortgage. Stockton mortgage. They're growing like my stomach right now.

And we're still chasing it. And we don't know when we've done enough. Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses. Steve Burns, Dustin Ross.
Starting point is 00:12:42 Because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth? Or are you a good person because you're afraid? Because that's two different intentions, bro. Absolutely. And that's two different levels of trust. I want you to just really be a good person. He felt destined for greatness. So when a swaggering Armenian businessman catapults Jacob into an extraordinary world, he doesn't look back. Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, meeting the president of Turkey. I'm Michelle McPhee, and this is one of the most shocking criminal conspiracies I've ever come across.
Starting point is 00:13:36 When Jacob met Levant, this went to a billion-dollar fraud. But with two kings from entirely different worlds, just how long can their empire survive? the largest tax investigation in American history. You need to tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me? Jacob told Levan, you're ruining my life. Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Life throws hurdles big and small.
Starting point is 00:14:10 The question is, how do you conquer them? On Hurtle with Emily Abadi, we sit down with the most inspiring women in sports and wellness. professional athletes, coaches, and Olympic champions to talk about the challenges that shaped them and the mindset that keeps them going. From the WNBA standout Kate Martin and rising hockey star Layla Edwards. If a boy can do it, I don't see why a girl can't. Like, I've never understood that. Like, it didn't make sense in my brain.
Starting point is 00:14:34 It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you, but don't ever feel like you don't feel on. Don't let that be the reason you don't do it. An Olympic champs, Gabby Thomas, and Katie Ledecki. The ability to show a gold medal to someone and have their face light. up and smile. That means the world to me. And that's what motivates me to win more gold medals. At our level, at this scale, like being able to fail in front of the entire world. Like, I can do anything. I can, like, I can do anything. Because resilience isn't just about winning. It's about showing up, even when it's hard. Listen to Hurtle with Emily Abadi on the IHeart Radio app, Apple
Starting point is 00:15:10 Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio here. We got the phone lines reset. Now we're ready to get rock. Full lines, 859, 280, 2287. 772, 774, 5254. A lot of women are riding me kind of feeling bad for you.
Starting point is 00:15:34 One of which is my mom. My mom says, tell Ryan I love him, and he was close. My mom sent me a text said, are you okay? I mean, really, are you okay? You're okay. I'm okay. my stomach just feels bloated right now. You're going to be great.
Starting point is 00:15:50 I want to go with one story before I go to the phones real quick. Shannon, did you read the story about the big spicy marriage breakup in Texas? No. Okay, so let me give you the characters here. There's the lieutenant governor. He is running for Senate. Okay. He has been married to a woman who's been a state senator.
Starting point is 00:16:13 They've been married for 38 years. Okay, that's a long marriage. wouldn't you say? Oh, yes. 38 years. She yesterday announced that she was going to get divorced, and she did it on Twitter because she, too, is a public official. But may I read you her divorce announcement
Starting point is 00:16:32 and see, Shannon, if there's anything in this announcement that suggests maybe why the divorce happened. Okay. Let's see if you can. Today, after 38 years of marriage, I filed for divorce on biblical grounds. It's an interesting sentence. On biblical grounds, I believe marriage is a sacred covenant,
Starting point is 00:16:52 and I have earnestly pursued reconciliation. But in light of recent discoveries, I do not believe that it honors God or is loving to myself, my children, or kin to remain in the marriage. Uh-oh. What do you think is the key word in there? Drew. Read that last sentence again?
Starting point is 00:17:12 In light of recent discoveries. Yeah, that's it. He messed up. up, got forgiven, and did it again. Is that how you read it? Yep. Recent discoveries. Well, this is all anyone in Texas is talking about.
Starting point is 00:17:24 Because, I mean, this would be like a state senator in, you know, Texas or in Kentucky being married to like the lieutenant governor. Well, it is because that's exactly what it is in Texas. And then they, and then you get in light of recent discovery. To me, recent discoveries is the word. Discoveries is the word if you're going to narrow it down to that. Discoveries. So that means. Are there any discoveries that.
Starting point is 00:17:46 would not be cheating cheating especially when she used biblical reasons at the beginning yeah that's true you combine biblical grounds yes with recent discoveries that done done yeah and these people by the way are in their 60s both of recent discovery it's a very creative way to say he was cheating on me so do you think that's the kind of thing that you feel like you have to say via Twitter probably so I mean, I mean, you could just say we've agreed to separate. Do you have to say recent discoveries on biblical grounds? People are going to be asking in the comments section, you might as well just go ahead and put it all out there. So you think you should just go ahead and say.
Starting point is 00:18:26 Remove all speculation. Dude, just go ahead and say. He said it on me, biblical grounds, recent discoveries. It's better to tell them than to have other people speculate. True. True. I think that's what it was. And if he must must have messed up pretty bad because she said reconciliation, but then more discoveries.
Starting point is 00:18:42 Like, sounds like the guys in the doghouse pretty bad. and she's done so why does she care what she puts out there it's clear that that she's not happy no it's clear by sending that message that she is uh not be a politician would be a slime ball that's she's a woman scorned she's hurt yet she's trying to be professional about it i think that's why she worded it that way i'm still don't get my dig in but be professional yeah so she didn't just say he cheated on me with the younger woman she said recent discoveries yes i feel like the subtlety of only saying recent discoveries is almost a little worse because it makes people speculate more into some wild things. And recent makes it also maybe suggest that it happened before.
Starting point is 00:19:21 Oh, yeah. Right? Yeah. And the reconciliation. Because the reconciliation, etc. Who's up first? Scott. Scott, go ahead, Scott. Hey, guys, quick hypothetical, my friends and I have been discussing. Who has more losses this year? Kentucky football or Kentucky basketball and SEC play? I'll hang up and listen. I think it would have been good to, I appreciate the call to have done a pre-donut contest of What has, what's more? UK losses or Ryan donuts eating? Oh, that would have been good. I think you could have gotten a 50-50 line there.
Starting point is 00:19:56 I think you could have. And you finished eight and a half. That's true. Which is what a lot of people put. Well, who has more losses? UK football or basketball regular season. Well, he said basketball, SEC losses. When you had the SEC, I'm going football.
Starting point is 00:20:10 Okay, so let's just do the whole season. More losses in the regular season, Kentucky basketball, Kentucky football. I forgot Kentucky football losing seven. Do I think Kentucky basketball will lose seven? I don't think so. Right at it, but I'll go. You got to pick one. Yeah, I'm going football loses more.
Starting point is 00:20:28 Football loses more. I'm going to say, well, I've already picked Kentucky football to win six this year. So assuming that happens, I'm going to say the basketball team loses more. Basketball loses more. Ryan? I'm right there with you guys, but I think the basketball would lose more than the football. I mean, I think Kentucky's going to go. I think they're going to steal a game.
Starting point is 00:20:48 So I think they're going to go five and seven. So if I think they're going to go five and seven, then do I think UK basketball? Well, let's just go through the schedule real quick. Non-conference games, the games you could lose are Louisville, Michigan State, Indiana, Gonzaga, North Carolina, and St. John's. We're going to beat North Carolina, because it's at home.
Starting point is 00:21:10 I think we're going to beat Michigan State. I think between Louisville, Gonzaga, St. John's, What's the other one? Louisville, Gonzaga, Indiana. We're going to beat Indiana. So now we're down to Louisville Gonzaga, St. John's. I'd say we win two of those three. So I think we go to conference play with two losses.
Starting point is 00:21:28 I think we're only going to lose foreign conference. You know what? I'm going to say less. I'm going to say the football team loses more. My initial thought going into that was it was going to be basketball. But the thing is, three of our six tough games are against teams that we should be better than or we're playing at home. Indiana and North Carolina.
Starting point is 00:21:44 And then I think we're going to be better than Michigan State. So between Louisville, Gonzaga, and St. John's, we could win all those. I'd say we'll probably drop two of them, so that's why I'll go through that. So what are you thinking? Four SEC losses then? I think I'm going to go four SEC losses. I'm going to have to see the breakdown to see where they are, but I would say four. It's a good question because they're both right there together, I think. But, you know, looking at that schedule, even though you play six good teams, you could win all those games.
Starting point is 00:22:12 Oh, sure. And I would go so far as to say we'll probably only be an underdog in one of those games. I think we'll be an underdog in the Louisville game, oddly, because we're playing on their gym. But I think besides that, Drew, won't we be a favorite in all those games? Let's see what happens with St. John's, but it's cool because of- I would think so. St. John should be down a little bit. I think Kentucky will be up.
Starting point is 00:22:32 Gonzaga's got some guys back, but you just beat them last year, and I think you're approved. So, yeah, I think they'd mostly be favorite. And we will have a crowd advantage. We'll have a crowd advantage at all those neutral-site games. We'll have a crowd advantage in New York over Michigan State. We'll have a crowd advantage in Atlanta. and then we'll have a massive crowd advantage in Nashville against Gonzagia. I'm sitting behind Mark Few,
Starting point is 00:22:51 so I can assure you there will be a crowd advantage in Bridgetown. That's interesting. You know, I guess I didn't really realize how much damage. I mean, the most likely loss of the non-conference season is that first game at Louis. Yeah. And we're winning that one. Well, I certainly hope so. Who's up next?
Starting point is 00:23:10 Brittany. Brittany. Go ahead, Brittany. Hey, you guys. I wish I was with you all today at the pool. I'm outside, and it is so hot. But I had to see if those phone lines were working, and they are now, which I'm glad about. I was just calling in to say, I'm looking forward to TBT next week.
Starting point is 00:23:26 I'm taking my kids. We went last year, and I know it'll be just as fun again this year. Yeah, let's talk about TBT for just a second. It starts Thursday, Friday. Friday night. First game is Friday at Memorial Coliseum. You can get your tickets, the UK alumni and Jesser. What are you shaking your head?
Starting point is 00:23:45 What's wrong with Jesser? I got strong thoughts on Jesser. Well, give me your strong thoughts on Jesse. I think it's ridiculous. They're bringing in a YouTuber to be on the roster at that point. Why not just bring on Ryan Lemon? I mean, what's the difference? You were not on last week when they announced.
Starting point is 00:23:58 No, but I saw that and I rolled my eyes going, really? Did you know who that was? No, I had no idea. I didn't need it. And people were saying, oh, you know, Jesser's going to bring some attention to UK basketball. Who doesn't know that UK basketball exists? This is bringing attention to Jesser because I had no idea who that was until UK basketball brought him to the light. Thank you. There's a chance.
Starting point is 00:24:18 I didn't know. There's a chance we're going to have Jesser on next week. I'm not talking to them. What do you mean you're not talking to it? You're not going to talk to him? It's going to be you three. I'm not going to be here. Well, boys, you better get your questions ready.
Starting point is 00:24:34 I'm gone that day too. Oh, is it just you two and Jesser? Yeah. It better get his jessor question. Oh, my. You two and Jesser? No, you got it. Well, no, Mario's on vacation next week, too.
Starting point is 00:24:46 So you don't even have the thing that you could relate? Two. Shannon. Oh, dude, I hope it's one-on-one Ryan and Jesser. What would you even say to him? So, he played against Kane Brown in the Celebrity All-Star game. You look good. You look good.
Starting point is 00:25:02 That's what you're going to say, too. You might want to get some help before you do that interview. They play Friday. They play Sunday, and then they play Tuesday. Right. And all of those games. We will have the U.K. The TBT team on Thursday.
Starting point is 00:25:16 I think we're going to have four guys on Wednesday, four guys on Thursday. Good, that's awesome. Who's up next? Jerry. Jerry, go ahead, Jerry. Hey, Matt. First off on the Paxton thing, the NRSC and John Corner are already going after that with ads. Yeah, well, I understand.
Starting point is 00:25:34 I guess it. But anyway, but I was talking about yesterday with the legislation there in Congress. I'm not surprised that happened because one of the, you know, in addition to the university, putting pressure. I figure when programs started getting eliminated, there'd be a lot of pressure from women's advocates to get something done. And two or three weeks ago, there was an article
Starting point is 00:25:56 in AP that over that two weeks, 32 women's programs had gotten eliminated. Yeah. Well, I mean, there's more coming. But it's going to have, I appreciate the call. There's going to be a lot of men's and women's programs get eliminated. But that's,
Starting point is 00:26:12 you know, the thing is the great thing about capitalism, is it allows things like this house and this neighborhood. The bad thing is, you know, sometimes mom and pop shops go away, and unfortunately I think they're going to be sports that go away because college athletics have hidden from the market for years by basically not paying their workers. Now they have to, and so when that happens,
Starting point is 00:26:40 the strengths and weaknesses of capitalism will show. and I think there's going to be sports go away, right? It's just inevitable. We saw it coming. I mean, everybody saw this coming. It was definitely just going to happen. And, you know, some schools are like, like UK, they started a stunt team. All-women stunt team kind of help, you know, balance that a little bit because it doesn't cost anything for the stunt team.
Starting point is 00:27:00 Yet you've got an all-women sports team. Do you, how are you feeling? I need a nap. Step on the scale and see if you gained any more weight. Let's see if you gain any more. So you gained 1.2 pounds between the segment last hour and the segment this one. We're now at, you were at 2.18.6. Oh, you've lost 0.2 pounds.
Starting point is 00:27:22 Good job, right? So basically, the donuts, yeah, you may have sweat it out. The donuts were about two pounds worth of food. I feel it. I mean, I really starting to feel it. Like, what do you mean? Like my stomach's like growing. It's like, I wasn't going to say this, but it does look bigger, doesn't it?
Starting point is 00:27:39 You put on weight? It looks a little. It looks a little. How much longer have we gotten to the? We got 30 minutes left in this show. Who's next? Bruce. Bruce, go ahead, Bruce.
Starting point is 00:27:53 Matt, coming to you live from the Rock the Country here in Nashville. Man, you guys should have been here doing that donut contest. Well, thank you. Enjoy the concert. Is it what? Is it Kid Rock tonight? Kid Rock tonight. Nickleback tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:28:09 I have two quick hitters real quick. If you're coming this way, the worst speed trap in the United States is Cat, it's Katlicksburg. If it says 35, you better be doing 30 because this is their Super Bowl. And the second quick hitter... Wait a minute. Hang on just saying. You're saying the police in Katletzburg have been waiting for this weekend for speeding.
Starting point is 00:28:33 Talk about when Kentucky comes. They have T-shirt and all that. Catalicsburg. The only source of revenue they have is ticket violations. There's no industry there. So that's... You talking about West Virginia? No, no, Calixburg, Kentucky, and Boye County.
Starting point is 00:28:49 When you come through, as you're going. Yeah. Yeah. What's your second? I'm telling you. That's the worst. And the second quick hitter is this is a yes or no. Did you or did you not date Kelly Kelly?
Starting point is 00:29:03 I mean, come on. You didn't date Kelly Kelly. No, but I, she, you talked to her one time. That doesn't mean you dated. No, I talked to her. She lived across the hall for me. I helped her study for her wrestling final. Okay.
Starting point is 00:29:20 What are you talking about? She wanted to go try on different outfits and you said, nah, I don't want to work. No, I went. I went for the trial. 859-280-2287. Good memory, though. We'll take a break. Be right back.
Starting point is 00:29:33 Kentucky Sports Radio. Welcome back, Tucky Sports Radio here. Sponsored by CS Pools at Ryan's house. Ryan, how we feeling? Little first as we go along. I think it's going to be a rough afternoon. in the living household. I feel like you look better than I thought you would.
Starting point is 00:29:52 And to be honest, I'm as mad as I don't feel good. I'm mad I didn't think. I thought I had it. I really thought I could do that. And then after the first don't, I'm like, I can't do this. I mean, I did think, Drew, the worst ending for him would be getting like eight to nine. My exact prediction. Pay me, draft kings.
Starting point is 00:30:10 Yes. I would have bet, I would have bet like between eight and nine. You hit exactly. You know, at the beginning, I thought you were going to. do it. And then, and when Dante, I think I actually should blame Dante. Let's blame Dante. When Dante was here, you got excited and then Dante left. He got me going. Got me on a roll a little bit there. Noche Linda Farms. This is something you want to think about right now. Beef.
Starting point is 00:30:31 And Noce Linda Farms, let's say you book something online and it rives nothing like the picture. Well, Steve Grissom, that doesn't happen with Noce Linda Farms. He breeds the cattle. The flavor, the tenderness, the harvest of every cut is consistent. It's a true farm to table experience. We were just taste testing it the other day. There's a review from a recent customer. I'm truly so impressed by the incredible service and quality of meat coming from Noche Linda Farms. I purchased Tomahawk steaks for my dad for my birthday, and they were great. They're super helpful.
Starting point is 00:31:00 You can do it too. Go to Nochaylinda Farms.com. Check out Steve Grissom, locally owned beef, top quality at Nochelinda Farms. Are you all going to see Superman this weekend? No. Yes. You're going to see it. You're no.
Starting point is 00:31:14 You hate superhero movies. What about you, too? I will not go to a movie. He's not going to get off his couch this weekend. I don't think I'll be doing much this weekend. Well, not unless he flies over my house. Are you going to see it? You're the movie guy.
Starting point is 00:31:29 But you know, I don't like superhero movies. I want things like grounded in things that could actually happen. So what makes this one supposed to be different than the other Superman movies? It doesn't. They just put these out every few years. Yeah, every few years we did. We did this on Interrupted by Matt Jones. Every few years is just a new Superman.
Starting point is 00:31:44 And then you go see it. And it's the same thing with Spider-Man. It's the new Spider-Man. Exactly. They have a Spider-Man button in the studio, and every couple summers, they're like, when he money, hit the Spider-Man button. Yeah. There's a new one.
Starting point is 00:31:54 But, yeah, I mean, it's good. It'll probably do well. There's, like, a lot of controversy about this one, because they say that Superman is woke, but, I don't know exactly how that would be. But I bet it'll still Shannon do really. Now I'm curious just to see how they make a woke Superman. I think it would be a little hard. I don't want to see that now.
Starting point is 00:32:12 You just sold it to me. Okay. Before we go to the phones, I want to give you one more controversy for the weekend because I feel like you guys, Ryan, this I think actually applies to you in some ways. All right. Do you know the story about the woman who went to the 4th of July barbecue with the antipasto salad? No, tell me about that. Okay, and there's in Texas. Texas.
Starting point is 00:32:32 There's this woman. She's moved into the neighborhood with her kid. Doesn't know anybody. All right. From Virginia, I think, I've moved to Texas. She meets one other mom. She's got a kid. She meets one other mom and the mom says, hey, the next.
Starting point is 00:32:43 Neighborhood's getting together for the 4th of July. It's at this person's house. Come over. Just bring a food item. So this woman wants to make a good impression, Shannon. She makes an antipasto salad. I didn't even know what that was. Do you know what it is?
Starting point is 00:32:59 Antipasto means before the meal, before the pasta. So it's like an appetizer. Try olives. Listen to listen to Anthony Bourdain over here. I like Italian restaurant. So it is. So it's a salad with like lettuce. She puts it together.
Starting point is 00:33:11 It's got Italian meats. It's got cheese. is it's got tomatoes. She puts the little vinaigret dressing. I have to say, I saw a picture of the antipasto salad, looked like a pretty amazing antipasto. Sounds good. She walks up to the house. Now, the woman who invited her,
Starting point is 00:33:26 she doesn't see her initially. But she knocks on the door, somebody says, hey, oh, come on in. Well, I guess the woman whose house it was doesn't know this person's coming. All of a sudden she says,
Starting point is 00:33:41 oh no, no one's talking to me. She walks around, according to her, people huddle up and she's by herself. And then someone comes up to her and says, hey, you need to not be here. You weren't invited. Wow. And she said, but I was invited and she goes, well, they don't want you here. Welcome to the neighborhood. Now, she leaves the antipasto salad. I would have taken it. Yeah, I would have, too. She goes home and she makes a TikTok, and you can look at this TikTok. It's actually very sad. She's crying. She's like nobody. She was like, I'm so embarrassed. I brought an antipasto salad, right? Like, I was all into the antipasto salad. And next thing you know, you know how things just get going
Starting point is 00:34:23 on the internet. Everybody feels sorry for this point. Everybody's writing her saying, hey, come to my party, et cetera. They find the woman who kicked her out of that. Her name is Stacia. And Stacia is exactly what you would think. This was like a rich, boogie neighborhood. And Stasia, rather than just apologizes, she makes a video that goes, I didn't know who this woman was. What do you want me to do? This is my house. I asked her to leave. We didn't know she was invited. And like starts, and now the internet is turned on station. Should be. Stasia has written long. She's not helping. She writes these long things saying, come on. So here's my question for you. Ryan, you have a neighborhood. Yes. I could see you having a barbecue. Somebody walks in that you don't know, but brings food.
Starting point is 00:35:12 Are you letting them in? I'm probably going to figure out who they are why they're here. And they say, well, I'm a new neighbor just moved in down the street, and Rodney invited me to come over. Oh, that's okay. Then come on and meet everybody. Feels like that's a solution. That's what she said she did.
Starting point is 00:35:27 She said I was invited by Tracy. Yeah. And Stacia didn't even take the time to. Stacia said get out. Without even trying to figure out, she was a new neighbor. Stacia and Jake, by the way. Stacey and Jake. So you would leave them in the party?
Starting point is 00:35:39 I would talk to them. What would you talk to them about? Just find out who they were. Hey, I'm Ryan. This is my house. Who are you guys? And they say, I'm a new neighbor down the street. Matt just invited me.
Starting point is 00:35:48 Oh, come on in. Yeah, meet everybody. So you, see, I can see that. You'd be fine. Yeah. Drew, would you let them in your house? Oh, I would do exactly what Ryan just said, especially if they brought that kind of food to my potluck.
Starting point is 00:36:00 That can be an expensive thing to bring with your, depending on your meats, cheeses, and all of somebody who specializes in antipasto salads looked at it and said it would have cost her $100 to make. Easily. Those can be very expensive. So I would love to have, I don't know her name, but her at my party. If I'm Stasia, I'm doing what Ryan does. I introduce myself, get familiar, but say help yourself.
Starting point is 00:36:20 What about you? You let you invite them in? Well, the fact that she brought food obviously shows that she knew that there was a party going on. She didn't just crash it without any. See, that's my thing, is I don't know if I'd like a stranger in my house. But if I see them with a dish, I mean, who's ever robbed somebody carrying a dish when they walked in? Yeah. Like, to whatever extent you're scared of the person, I think the moment.
Starting point is 00:36:42 you're carrying in a $100 salad, Shannon, I think I'm letting you in the house. That's it. Now, if she just wanders in, I'm going, I don't know who you are. You probably need to leave. But if you're bringing food, you're contributing to the party, then come on in. You're welcome. And have you ever heard of a robbery taking place with food? No. Especially not a place where you're bringing in a pestle salad. First time for everything, though.
Starting point is 00:37:02 It could be great end of pasta hyacist. Full disclosure at my 50th birthday party where you were at. Thank you. I was going to bring this up. Carry on. Some people just showed up. The listeners of the show found my address to show up and walked into my house. That's a little weird. But did they bring you food?
Starting point is 00:37:17 Didn't bring food? Nope. See, there's the difference. I was going to bring this up. Ryan's 50th. I mean, most people knew each other, but there were separate rooms with, like, food items on tables. Like, Ryan's house was kind of an open house, and he was very welcoming. I didn't know exactly that some listeners have been there.
Starting point is 00:37:32 But Ryan wasn't keeping an eye on the place. But you didn't kick those listeners out. Yes, out of the house, asked them to leave. Oh, you did. I don't blame me. I don't blame it. Oh, I didn't know. So what's the difference between that and this?
Starting point is 00:37:46 Why did you kick them out and you don't think Stasia should have kicked this one out? I think Stasia is a neighbor that was invited by another neighbor. These guys just walked in. Made themselves at home. Didn't know anybody. Probably weren't even a neighbor. They weren't a neighbor. There you go.
Starting point is 00:38:01 Well, I don't know. They're probably listening. But what if they just said that they were neighbors? I don't remember this. Was this when you hired the band and you didn't tell the city you were having a concert on a City Street. Commonwealth band were playing out in the cul-de-sac and had a big barbecue truck and didn't get anything approved. Zero. Great time. I don't like today. It was bigger than the fair. It was a lot of people there at that. Who's up next? Matt. Matt. Matt. Go ahead, Matt. Hi, guys. What's up? Hello? I like to say two things real quick. First, Ryan, I want you to know. I was praying for you the whole time. Good Lord, please help this man accomplish his journey.
Starting point is 00:38:40 Thank you, Matt. That's very nice of you, Matt. But keep your head up, man. And the second thing I'd like to say is, I would love to invite you all to come over to the farm and do your show. I got a hold of a historical home on my land. My wife's a professional chef. We could eat fresh vegetables out of the garden. She makes the best fried chicken, mashed potatoes, fried green tomatoes.
Starting point is 00:39:05 And I even rent a 26 inflatable water slide. Well, that's very nice of you. And when we do are, and I appreciate the call. When we do, we're going to do at least two more road trips this week, or excuse me, this summer. And when we do for the KSR goes around the state, make sure to call in. For the first time, you look awful. I love you guys. I can't wait for you to leave.
Starting point is 00:39:30 Because I need to crash. Are you going to go to sleep? Oh, yeah. I was going to stick around, maybe jump in the pool. Well, you go ahead. I'll be upstairs in my bed. So it's like you're wanting to go to sleep. Yeah, I'm crashing.
Starting point is 00:39:40 you have all that sugar, though. You're not on a sugar high? I think it's doing the exact opposite. It's like making me crash. Is that what you see? Oh, is that what happens? Yeah, it makes you. So if you eat that much sugar, it makes you crash.
Starting point is 00:39:51 I think I need to spend some private time in the restroom. 859-280, 2287. We're going to take a break. I've got a couple of announcements of things that you might want to hear in terms of stuff coming up in the next week. This is Kentucky Sports Radio. Last night, a blown call. changed a game. Like, I've never understood that. Like, it didn't make sense in my brain. It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you, but don't ever feel like you don't belong. Don't let that be the reason you don't do it.

Starting point is 00:44:16 For those of you that donated money, I will get the thing to send it back this weekend. I think they said it takes like five to seven days. So hopefully it will show back up in everybody's account. And, you know, Ryan, we will give you another chance at some point to do something. You're old for two. You put it for prison? You didn't eat the donuts? What can you do?
Starting point is 00:44:38 Well, I did the push-up challenge. I did the run around at Legend Park. I'm so lishing and so harsh all the time. I don't know. There were a lot of people. There were a lot of people mad that I cut it off at $5,000. I think if we had left it, it might have gotten up to like $8,000 or $10,000. And that would have been more money for you to refund.
Starting point is 00:45:00 It wouldn't have made it different. I couldn't get past that, hit that spot. I couldn't get past it. Somebody reminded me that the woman that didn't get invited to the party, she grew the tomatoes and handmade the mozzarella. Oh. Oh, come on. You get kicked out.
Starting point is 00:45:14 Take that with you. I think you've got to throw it at her couch or something on your way out. Yeah, she's the most expensive furniture. Remember, she still has to live in the neighborhood. That's true. And this has now become, like, if you get on TikTok or it's everywhere. And she now, she's still, babies women still have to live in the neighborhood. Well, you said it during the break.
Starting point is 00:45:32 It does feel like a mean girls club. These are, you know, the rich, spoiled meat girls. The ones that didn't let her in, they're all kind of pretty and blonde. And, like, that's, I think that's part of what happens. as well. Who's up next? Ryan. Ryan, go ahead, Ryan. Hey, first of all, hang in there, Ryan, valiant effort. Thank you. I'd like to bring a little attention to Racing Louisville Football Club is on pace to become the first top tier pro team in Kentucky to make the playoffs since the
Starting point is 00:46:01 colonel's 50 years ago. So far this season, they're three and no against L.A., New York and in Chicago. They got a captain who's a U.K. Hall of Famer. and I'd be nice to see you all give them a little love every now and again. So that's the Louisville women's soccer team, right? Racing Louisville? That's correct. Yeah, they're actually playing Lexington and are friendly this weekend. Yeah, so they are in the top level.
Starting point is 00:46:24 They're the only pro sports team we have in Kentucky that is at the top level, and they are having a great season. So good luck to racing Louisville. Well, they play Lexington. I can't root for them against Lexington, but maybe in other games down the run. So what does it mean? He says he's playing him in a friendly. Yeah, that's just an exhibition game.
Starting point is 00:46:43 It's exactly right. Friendlies are like when we play Purdue in Georgetown. Gotcha. Appreciate the call. We could call them a friendly. Would you like to do that instead of an exhibition? Just call them, Drew. This is just a friendly.
Starting point is 00:46:54 No, nothing about that Purdue game is going to be friendly. They'll be the number one team. I think. Do you think we're going to, as a fan base, overreact if that game doesn't go well, even though it doesn't. We're going to overreact to whatever happened. Even though it doesn't count. Yep.
Starting point is 00:47:08 Yeah. If Kentucky wins. Would you say to Mark Pope, I want you to, you know, when we play trancy in those teams, he can just play anybody and we're still going to win, and they use it as a way to get a lot of guys' minutes. Would you say against Purdue, you play it to get a lot of guys' minutes, or do you play to win the game? He'll play to win the game his way, so he'll play all of his guys when he would do it against Louisville next week or so. But I mean, you think you, like, if he were to play Purdue in a regular season, he'd probably play a, like, a tight rotation, or,
Starting point is 00:47:40 whatever his, you know, in-season rotation, would you be cool with him expanding it for this? Or should it be like it's going to be during the year? Whatever that is. Me, I wanted the way he played, the way you're going to play against Louisville in a week. What about you? Same thing. It's great experience for the guys that will be playing down the stretch because Purdue's the favorite to win the title. So unless he and Matt Painter have a gentleman's agreement like this, we're treating this like practice.
Starting point is 00:48:03 Self and Caliperi did that. Self and Calipari, when Arkansas played Kansas, they both kind of agreed we're going to play all our guys and just get red. And Cal Perry wouldn't even let people zone sometimes. I hope they treat this one like it's a Final Four game. It'll be a fun treat, even though we all will overreact to it. Yeah, you practice like you play. You play like your practice. So however he's going to play in the regular season,
Starting point is 00:48:21 I think that's how he should play this exhibition game. I told you all that we're going to do a wing tasting where we let you guys sample our flavors at KS Bar. Tell us what's good and tell us which one's better. Those tickets are going to go on sale right after the show. I will put it up on Twitter and Mario will put it up on the Bond That Bridge page on Facebook. Only a few tickets, only 75 tickets. So make sure to order quickly.
Starting point is 00:48:51 It's 20 bucks and you get to have a ton of wings and you'll be the first one to see the new KS bar. And not just the first to see, you get to actually pick for the new KS bar. Yeah, and if people don't like the wing sauce, I blame you 75 people. I will literally call each of you and say you should have done a better job. That means those people better get in there and buy the wings. Yeah. All 75 people get a little checklist or something? Yeah, so we have like 11 flavors, but like four or five of them, we know what we're doing.
Starting point is 00:49:20 But there's like five or six where we're going to give you multiple different versions of barbecue, hot, medium. We're going to give you a bunch of different versions, and you're going to rate which one you like and which one you don't. And we're going to kind of use that to help us figure out what our official one is going to be. Cool. Very cool. I like that. So, yeah, you'll be there, too. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:39 Who's up next? Alex. Alex, go ahead, Alex. Hey, guys. I'm a show or two behind, so I don't know if you covered this. But I was curious if you guys had been following Norlander and Gary Parrish's eye on college basketball podcast. Over the last week or so, they've been ranking the top 25 moments in college basketball over the last 25 years. Okay.
Starting point is 00:50:01 And they haven't done the top five. They haven't done the top five, but Kentucky has snuck into a few spots. They did a couple not so great. but St. Peter's run, you know, the 2015, almost perfect season. And they had actually pretty highly ranked Calipari leaving Memphis, sort of taking the whole lead back storm. I was, you know, curious if you agree with that. Yeah, it's a good question.
Starting point is 00:50:24 I mean, that would be a good topic for another day, kind of the best moments of the last 25 years. I mean, I would think, I don't know if it'll make their list, but the Harrison Twins run has to be. Of course it is. Certainly on our list. I would guess their number one moment will, probably be that North Carolina Villanova shot for the buzzer beater for the national
Starting point is 00:50:44 championship. Chris Jenkins. I would think that's probably the number one spot, but I don't know off the top of my head. That was the very first game that came to mind when I was trying to think of one that they would include. I think for Kentucky, if you were to say, Matt, what is the most exciting, what are the three most exciting moments the last 25 years? I would say the Harrison Twins run, winning the national championship. And then I might say Jody Meeks going for 54 against Tennessee. What would you say?
Starting point is 00:51:15 Just great moments. That Florida game at Rupp Arena in 03 But that game didn't really matter a lot. I'm just saying like moments, historic moments. Yeah, that was historic for me. As a gladdest I think of Rupp Arena has ever been, ever. Would you put it ahead of the three I said? No, I think it's in the discussion, but not ahead of those three. Any of them you would think of you'd put ahead of those three? I mean, the 38-1 season, if you can combine it all into one thing, I would say that.
Starting point is 00:51:40 But, you know, obviously not the Wisconsin game. What was great about that 38-1 season is it felt like, you know, they had a handful of games down to where it was close to losing and you just wanted them to win so much. I think there was that game at home against Old Miss, the game at LSU down there where Carl Towns got the big play. I think that was part of what made that. It's like every game it felt like, Drew, you couldn't live. lose. Absolutely. We all knew the pressure, even if you were playing Mississippi State. I would even throw breaking the final four drought when they beat Ohio State, North Carolina. Those are good. The year before the title. Yes, those were good. Hey, first of all, thank you to all of the people
