Starting point is 00:00:00 Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter.

Welcome back out of number two, Kentucky Sports Radio, here live at Kentucky Customs It Upfitting in Nicholasville. It is a beautiful day. Ryan Lemon has been entertaining folks during the break. I'm going to still give away a bottle of Blanton's here in just a bit, another gift basket, $200 in gift cards and UK Purdue tickets if you get here before the end of the show. This is the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety, KSR, Safe Summer Driving Tour. Ryan, you went outside and you tried to bust a watermelon that has been coated in the protective coating used in bedliners,
Starting point is 00:03:42 and I watched you, and it's pretty impressive. That's a watermelon, and you had no chance of going through it. I had a little sledgehammer, didn't do anything. That was a mallet. So they went and got a big sledgehammer. I felt like I was Hulk Hogan out there rolling that thing around, bounced it like a basketball. Didn't crack didn't budge didn't do didn't do anything to it so this material they use like This really holds up I mean I I I didn't think it would break because I thought if they did that wouldn't be a good look for them
Starting point is 00:04:10 Probably been tested before but it's indestructible. That's pretty indestructible so you can get this on your truck bed and then nothing will hurt it If we're still in law familiar heading to Freedom Hall this week I dipped my fist in it to go protect myself But watching Ryan out there you all heard me I was about nonny sure that the sledgehammer is going to kick back at him in the face because these things do have some bounce to him. It's a watermelon and then even come close to cracking it. Yeah, you're pretty impressive. Over three challenges. You're not very good at things.
Starting point is 00:04:41 But you can come and get these. I said until July 31st, apparently it's August 31st. Oh, nice. So you have till August 31st to come to Kentucky Customs and Upfitting. If you mention KSR, you get 10% off the spray and bedliners, undercoding and rust prevention through the end of August. If I had a truck, which I don't because I don't carry anything, but if I had a truck, I would certainly get this. You think it would also help you protect against the weather. You know, you put it in your bedliner, protect it from damage, but also from the weather.
Starting point is 00:05:09 There you go. Look at you being smart. All right. Let's go over a couple of news. He just told me that. Oh, did he tell you that? Okay. It's called Weather Trek.
Starting point is 00:05:16 Yeah. Let's talk about a couple things here in the news before we go back to phones. We have seen to talk about this all week. I'll write down 12 topics. We have yet to this one, but we will get it today. Drew, Tyrone, you look at it me like that. I'm pretty much. You're going to be in the morning.
Starting point is 00:05:37 Tyron Stokes, the number one player in the class of 2026. It was assumed for a long time he was going to go to Louisville. He's from Calvon. The connection was with Louisville. But now reports are kind of hinting that it might be Kentucky. Kentucky has not gotten the number one overall player since, what, Anthony Davis? I think it was, I mean, because Carl Towns was number two to Jolaloka for. I think it was Anthony Davis.
Starting point is 00:06:09 Are we going to get him? They've certainly made a lot of noise lately. And if you're following the Joe Tipton's and even people on our website, you know, they just had the peach jam this past weekend. So this is when you get maybe some of the best recruiting buzz all year. And whatever was going on down there, there seems to be a big momentum. push towards Kentucky. I'm not considered saying they're getting right or anything, but they are squarely in the
Starting point is 00:06:32 race when it did look like Louisville had a pretty big lead on everyone else. If he get the number one point, first of all, there's still a little bit of, well, can they get an elite recruit that's not from Kentucky? I mean, that's still been kind of the question. This would answer it, Ryan. There's no doubt about that. I think that's the one knock on Pope right now. He proved he's brought in this really good recruiting class of transfers, but can you
Starting point is 00:06:54 go out get the elite freshman that's not from good talking it's from Louisville but he left he still though I'm not if he if he didn't play high school right now yeah I will still give him credit if he's able to get it still goes to show you the brand kentucky still means something that's kind of what we were talking about last hour you know with the nill money it does that kentucky name still means something clearly it does if you have the chance to get the number one player a lot of his family grew up liking louisville so it'd be big to steal him no it would be i mean louvils assumed they were going to get this kid for a year and a half. And if at the last minute, they lose him and then also lose him to Kentucky, Drew, I think that's going to make, I mean,
Starting point is 00:07:31 imagine a kid from Lexington who grows up a Kentucky fan. We think he's coming here. And then, you know, right before his senior year, he picks Louisville. I mean, I think that would be a pretty devastating blow that might be what happens with Louisville here. And not all number one players in every class are the same. Sometimes you have down years, guys turn out to be buzzed. This kid's real. This looks like guy that's going to be one of the dudes this will be i mean i you know we don't have him yet and obviously guys can work out or not this will be the biggest talent to come to lexington take all of the guys cow got and there were a lot of amazing talents if you're talking high school pedigree this will be the biggest high school pedigree guy they've brought in since john wall that's pretty
Starting point is 00:08:21 I mean, Anthony Davis ended up being amazing, and he was number one, but he was a late riser and like... Almost committed to Cleveland State. Yeah, I mean, he was going to go to Cleveland State. This will be the highest pedigree guy to come to Kentucky since John Wall if he comes. And I think, like, everybody needs to take a step back and say, I mean, I'll go even further. Let's say he comes here. This might be the, this might be one of the five highest pedigree guys to, ever commit to Kentucky.
Starting point is 00:08:54 Like that's not, again, I'm just talking high school pedigree. I'm not saying he's going to be a great, like a great player, but who in high school had a better pedigree than this guy? Wall, Mashburn, anybody else? I mean, even Rex was not ranked number one in his class. I think it's like Wall Mashburn and him. Yeah, you know, like Drew said, he's got his roots in Kentucky, but he's been a consensus number one player.
Starting point is 00:09:21 I think even since last year, people were saying even as a junior, he was the best player in the country last year. I mean, what else have we gotten the number one player? Anthony Davis was one, Carl Towns was one. Carl Towns was two. Randall was two. Randall was two. B.J. Boston was actually like three. Nerlands is actually a good one. Nirlens is higher than, but Nerlins, people forget he was, I still don't think he's this kid. I think it's him in Wall. But literally, like, pretty good company. And I'm petty. Anytime. we've gotten those guys you've beat North Carolina, Kansas, to beat Louisville. I mean, before he even puts on his sneakers in Lexington, you've got to win for a kid they thought they've had for a long time. When is he deciding? I don't know that he's put a date on it. Okay. All right,
Starting point is 00:10:05 next thing. We love everything that's happened in the Lueboree. It was announced our quarterback. Now, again, our backup right now, they say has put on 20 pounds of muscle. Ryan, you're Mr. Optimist here now for UK football. Shannon was the first on the train. Now you're on the train. Does the 20 pounds of extra bolly mussely does it make you happy? It does make me happy because I heard during the off season he did everything right as far as in the training room working out getting the film room studying the game a little bit more Everything you've heard about cutter bowling since last season I think's been positive So I think he will be a star here someday if it's even as it's not is he going to play this year He'll play some I think he'll play some what does that mean though
Starting point is 00:10:45 He'll play some You mean like when Kentucky's blowing out Ole Miss No, baby Nike right? Yeah I mean, I guess there's like three options. One is he only plays if somebody gets hurt, right? Two is they share time. And then three is Calzada underperforms and Bowley is the starter.
Starting point is 00:11:07 Which one's it going to be? I think they have put some packages in for him. I always hear that. Nobody ever puts any packages in. Like they always say they're going to put packages in. Yeah, they did. Who? What was the quarterback from Owensboro last year?
Starting point is 00:11:19 I came here. I'm drawing a blank. Gavin Wimson? Yeah. Yeah. He ranked ran the ball at the go line against goal miss. But that's not going to be cutter bole. No.
Starting point is 00:11:26 The cutter bully go line run back? I mean, what do you think? Who do you think he plays? Well, first of all, I was playing the video game yesterday, and Calzada got hurt, and bolly came in and went seven for eight against Tennessee. So I was pretty excited about what I saw out of virtual boley. Okay. But I think this is Calzata's job for the year outside of injury.
Starting point is 00:11:46 I do think they'll try to get bole in as often as they can. your eastern Michigan games and really have opportunities to get him going because I think the following year he's your starter but I think it's going to be mostly Calzada this season do you think he's your starter like like you're not going in the portal and getting the quarterback next year I don't think so I really like what we've seen out of bowling he was putting a horrible spot last year at Florida and at Texas quite all right yeah so you can't form too many opinions about that I actually thought he played all right in Texas yeah and at Florida they took him off the bench without warming them up and had him throw that little out route for an interception but
Starting point is 00:12:18 Anyway, I do think he is the plan for next season after a year. You got to think about it too. He put on 20 pounds of muscle this year, then another 20 pounds of the next year. That's going to be 40 pounds of muscle, and who's going to stop that guy? That's going to be the most indestructible quarterback we've ever had. He's got a 24-inch python at that point. Brother. The person we need to ask is right there because I watched Mario and Cutter Bowley on YouTube last night.
Starting point is 00:12:38 Oh, that's right. Come here. Come here, Mr. Mario. Yeah, because I forgot you interviewed Cutter Bowley. We're not allowed in that building. Yeah, you got him on the What's Next Poder-Ey. podcast, an exclusive Mario interview. Did he look bigger to you?
Starting point is 00:12:53 He looked huge. We had a segment on our show where I showed him images from the past, and it was from his freshman year, and I instantly can see the difference in his body from his freshman year to his sophomore. Like you mean like a chest? He's solid. He's solid now. All right.
Starting point is 00:13:07 What did he say? Does he expect to play? What can we learn on the What's Next podcast hosted by Mario Maitland? He's really excited about his teammates. Jamari Macklin, he said, is up for a big. year he didn't really you know talk much about himself he said obviously he's learned a lot from his past the past year playing under those quarterbacks but he was really focused on mostly his teammates but you think he's bigger he's way bigger he's solid man we'll give mario a big round of
Starting point is 00:13:34 applause here speaking of bigger uh do you think jimari macklin is the number one receiver this year yeah i think that's why he came back you know dane left and barion left and macklin came back because he saw that chance to be the number one guy we saw glimpses of it last year i mean He's super talented, and I think with him and Fred Ferrier and come these guys on there, he'll be the main. Do you, have you bought Nebraska gear? I haven't yet, but I will. Are you going to wear one of those stupid corn hats? If that's what it takes that day, yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:59 Are you going to go to Lincoln? Yeah, the day Kentucky's off, Nebraska hosts Michigan. So we're just on that game. Oh, you're going to that game. Big game to go to. You know, that's a long trip. Yeah. That's a long drive.
Starting point is 00:14:11 And it's a horrible. We're not driving. You can fly from Lexington into Atlanta to Lincoln. Oh, there's an airport in Lincoln? Yeah. Okay, so you're going to fly. I'm going to do that. So you've got to wear one of those corn things.
Starting point is 00:14:22 Okay, I'll do that, yeah. Those little, like, corn genitalia that come out of people's head. Well, I don't know if I want to call it that, but. I don't know what you're talking about, to be honest. Don't they wear a little? Family show. Yeah, maybe that's just something I think about. Who's up next?
Starting point is 00:14:40 Bluegrass is up next. Bluegrass. Go ahead, bluegrass. What's going on? Oh, fellas. It's been a while. It's been since basketball season since I called. Nice to hear from you. I'm just talk. Well, let's talk a little bit. See, up there in East Kentucky, we never, we never end evaluating our coaches. And what I've noticed, the more I look into this, Matt,
Starting point is 00:15:00 the more I see my man is a genius. I'm watching the TBT and no disrespect to Angley-Aleur, but he couldn't hardly even play out there. You know, he's a mismatch. And how did our coach, Mark Pope, how did he get him on the court so awesome? Let me go further than that. Let's go further than that. And again, none of this is to devalue our players last year because I not only think they were good, I really, really, really enjoyed watching them play. Ansley Almanor couldn't even get on the court in the TBT.
Starting point is 00:15:33 Andrew Carr, Jackson Robinson, you know, those, the Lamont Butler, those dudes played in the summer league. and with the exception of Kobe Brea, you know, I mean, did you hear anything about them? No. A lot of, I mean, I don't even know if LeBlaubbott Bueller got into games in the summer league. Kobe Brea had a good summer league, but. And I just remember. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:15:56 I just remember Cal saying we can't hide you. But I guess you just can't take that attitude we can't hide you. We'll find a way to put you in there and make you a fit. No, Marri played well. Actually, Amari played well in the summer league. He actually did really good. But my point is, and I appreciate the call, there is nobody on that. team. I think Brea is definitely going to make the sons, but I'm not sure any of those other guys.
Starting point is 00:16:16 Amari might make it. We'll see. He'll definitely be in the G League for a while. But like what we did last year with that roster, I think Pope's going, maybe I'm wrong, but I think he is going to be great here. I mean, I think he's got, he's got guys who can be stars this year. He's got a potential top five pick in Jaden Quaintons. He's got a potential top 20 pick in Jasper Johnson. He's got Oway returning, I think Jalen Lowe's going to be a star. I mean, I think I feel better about what Pope did last year, Drew, after watching the Summer League and the TBT, than I did before. Yeah, me too.
Starting point is 00:16:54 It's a small sample size, so we'll still see what the Pope experience is like. But you're looking at what he did with Almanor, and now your depth piece next year could be like a Yulevich. Last year he has freshman Travis Perry, Colin Chandler, Trent Noah has his depth. Now he has those guys, Monis Perry, his sophomore. plus Amalekaw Marino is like your third option in Big Man. So if he took the bench that he had last year and did what he did, now they're much better and much deeper.
Starting point is 00:17:21 I want to see how he can develop this group. I mean, everybody agrees the roster is better this year than it was last year. Absolutely. Does everybody agree with that? Oh, actually just on paper in the summer. I mean, just on paper. We'll see what happens when they do it. But I don't think there's any doubt that they are, they're better.
Starting point is 00:17:35 Most people hear the word remodeled and immediately think of stress. Contractors that gross. Ghosts you. prices that change halfway through and results that don't look like what you had in mind not estate renovations Shannon they do it differently you get a full team a designer who shops with you to pick out every detail their home solutions program is perfect mention KSR at estate renovations and get half off your design agreement half off half off estate RENOS dot com that's estate reno's like Reno divada or

Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing. And we're still chasing it. And we don't know when we've done enough. Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about,
Starting point is 00:19:39 wins and losses. Steve Burns, Dustin Ross, because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth, or are you a good person because you're afraid? Because that's two different intentions, bro. Absolutely. And that's two different levels of trust.

On hurdle with Emily Abadi, we sit down with the most inspiring women in sports and wellness, professional athletes, coaches, and Olympic champions to talk about the challenges that shaped them and the mindset that keeps them going. From the WMBA standout Kate Martin and rising hockey star Layla Edwards. If a boy can do it, I don't see why a girl can't. Like, I've never understood that. Like, it didn't make sense in my brain.
Starting point is 00:20:35 It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you, but. Don't ever feel like you don't feel like you don't feel on. Don't let that be the reason you don't do it. An Olympic champs Gabby Thomas and Katie Ladeke. The ability to show a gold medal to someone and have their face light up and smile, that means the world to me. And that's what motivates me to win more gold medals. At our level, at this scale, like being able to fail in front of the entire world. Like, I can do anything. I can do anything.
Starting point is 00:21:03 Because resilience isn't just about winning. It's about showing up, even when it's hard. When Jacob met Levin this went to a billion dollar fraud. But with two kings from entirely different worlds, just how long can their empire survive? The largest tax investigation in American history. You need to tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me? Jacob told Levan, you're ruining my life.
Starting point is 00:22:07 Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio here live. Kentucky Customs and Upfitting in Nicholasville, spray on bedliners, window tent with a lifetime warranty. Speaking of window tinting, did you see the video that you can get that here? Billy Joel in New York, did you see that video? Billy Joe was like riding down the road in a in his suburban his window was tinted and they pulled up to one of those guys that like is riding a bike pulling people. Yeah. What do you call those? You know what I'm talking about?
Starting point is 00:22:48 What do you call those? Rickshaw. Is it a rickshaw with a bike? I thought rickshaw was when you pulled it. Yeah. So it's not a rickshaw. But anyway, a guy riding a bike pulling people and there were two people and the bike was playing Billy Joe. And the two people in the back were singing Billy Joe.
Starting point is 00:23:06 So they're just riding down the road. And Billy Joel is like, this is a documentary. Billy Joel's like, the driver goes, hey, they're listening to you. So they're sitting there singing New York State of Mine or whatever. He just pulls up, rolls the window down, and starts singing with them. That's cool. Can you imagine you're just in your little, to use Billy's word, Rickshaw, and you're riding down the road in New York. And then the singer of the song you're doing pulls up next to you and starts singing it with you.
Starting point is 00:23:35 getting older. They recognize him. They've been awful if he thought he was going to have this moment. They're like, get out of here, old man. Crazy guy over here. Who's the crazy guy? We're having a romantic moment. Will you go away?
Starting point is 00:23:46 NYC, you never know. It could be either one. It could be Billy Joe. It could be a crazy guy. That's actually, I hadn't thought about the fact that they would not know who he was. Scow was the number one player in the country. Yes, that's right. I don't, you know what?
Starting point is 00:23:59 I did not remember that, but he was. When we forget, because he ended up eighth, man, I think, on our team that year. He was the worst number one player. we've ever had. Wow. That was... I mean, that's true. Fair. Fair. Is it not? Well, Stout's hype was a little weird because what is high school like made up? Yeah, he didn't have a real high school. One person writes, madam, on the way to our remote. The Long John's line is out to the road. Good night. Well, have Billy go get us a spot now. What is with you people in Long John's? I mean, do we need this particular KS bar into fried fish? Yeah, why am I spending all this
Starting point is 00:24:32 money trying to make KS. Bar better. Why don't I just start making Long John's 2? I don't know. You should. I mean, everybody loves it right now. Probably because it's brand new, though, right? Yeah, I'm sure, yeah. After that. The Kentucky Oaks announced they are moving to prime time. The Kentucky Oaks will be on NBC, regular NBC in prime time. The race will go at 830 under the lights in Louisville on network TV. I would assume, Drew, this is step. one to the Derby doing that sometime in the near future. Do you like, I'm shocked that horse racing has done so well that they're going to put the Oaks in prime time network TV.
Starting point is 00:25:14 I know that doesn't mean what it did 10 years ago, but it's still a pretty big audience. Do you like the Oaks under the lights next year? At first I liked it for the attention, and then I saw a long Facebook post from, is there a place like Jack Fry's in Louisville? Yes, there is a Jack Fry's. They were talking about how it completely kills Louisville getting restaurants. They said people are already on Oaks Day. They book reservations and don't show.
Starting point is 00:25:39 They said we've seen a huge decline already with Oaks. And now they're saying they're just not considering the Louisville economy outside of Churchill Downs because a lot of those places will sit empty until late at night. So until I thought of that angle, I thought it was good. But reading their posts, it was very detailed. I kind of take that angle. I'm worried about all the places in Louisville that wait for the 15th, Derby crowd to leave.
Starting point is 00:26:01 They have those parties. Yeah, what happens? Yeah, what happens with Bart Stable Brown and all those parties? That's, you know, I hadn't thought of that. And it's not just Jack Fry's a lot of, like your party. They're charitable events. And this was talking about how Churchill's just keeping every dollar to itself and not thinking about the city.
Starting point is 00:26:16 But I side with you, Jack Frost. So far be it from me to take up for a multinational corporation that doesn't even let us in a lot of the times with Churchill Downs. But, I mean, is it their role to sit and worry about the restaurants? I mean, if they get a chance to have their track on network TV nationally, don't they just have to do that? I mean, I get what Jack, that makes perfect sense to me, but, you know, if they come to you and say, we want to put your race on network TV and it's not even the derby.
Starting point is 00:26:44 Don't you have to do that if you're, if you're. I understand Drew's side of it, too, but Churchill Downs isn't, you know, it's not their role to save Louisville. They're worried about Churchill Downs. They're worried about their money. But I definitely understand his side of things, too. Well, they've made that. It's such a long day.
Starting point is 00:26:58 I know when I go to the Oaks, as soon as it's over, I don't feel like doing anything. Yeah. Because it is such a long day. So I can see why the restaurants would, but, you know. Boys to men aren't going to have a gig anymore. That's true. What are boys to be? What is Travis Trette going to do?
Starting point is 00:27:15 No, he's living. Ryan, you've been going to this forever. If you were at LAX, would you be glad they're going tonight? I would hate every second of it. That means you're not going to get out of the track until after midnight. You've got to turn around and be there at 6 o'clock the next morning for the derby. I would spit and cuss and fart and be everything that good to keep from having to do that. Is that what you always doing your math?
Starting point is 00:27:34 Yes. That is true, though. That's a quick turnaround. Oh, it'd be awful. Well, I mean, that, you know, if the race is at 8.30, they will not clear that place out until 10 or 11 o'clock at night. Yeah. The day is going to start at 1230 now. You know, they used to start those races at like 9 or 10 in the morning.
Starting point is 00:27:49 Now the day won't even start until 1230 and we'll go until the evening. This is going to, by the way, this is coming for the Derby. If they're doing this for the Oaks. They're just going to see if it works and then eventually do it for the day. Do the horses get to sleep in now? They don't have to be able at 4.30 in the morning. Maybe you can start having normal hours for these horses. We should ask the horses.
Starting point is 00:28:09 They're very, they got strong opinions. They would probably vote nay. Who's up next? Oh, well done. Well done. Such a terrible joke. Yeah, that's a great show. All right.
Starting point is 00:28:19 Who's next, Rick? Kyle is up next. Kyle, go ahead. 859-280, 27. Kyle. Yes. First, let me say, RIP to Ozzy and Hulk Hogan. And Malcolm Jamal Warner.
Starting point is 00:28:35 And Malcolm DeMole Warner, yes, that's right. It always happens in three, unfortunately. One other thing, plenty of you brought up cutterbole early. I have cutterbole scoop if you would like to hear it. I'd love to hear your cutter bolly scoop if you can give it to me in 30 seconds. All right. My boss is friends with his dad. His dad said that he's fine being the backup this year.
Starting point is 00:28:57 But next year, if he's not legit in the running for the starting quarterback, he's out of here. Well, he should. I mean, that should be his position. That's fair. I mean, I appreciate the call. If he, he's been here. If he puts in this time and he is next year not the starter, then I think it would totally make sense, right, if he would. I would, nobody would fault him.
Starting point is 00:29:15 I would not fault him at all for that. You know, keeps putting on muscle mass. Here's the thing. We haven't gone through a UK season without a quarterback getting hurt in like 15 years. He's going to play some. Oh, yeah. Everybody gets hurt. Every Kentucky quarterback we've ever had has missed some time to being hurt.
Starting point is 00:29:32 So that's what's going to happen this year as well. We'll take a break and be right back. This is Kentucky Sports Radio. Welcome back. Tucky Sports Radio here. It is Kentucky Customs and Upfitting. Spraying bedliners, fleet upfeiting for trucks and vans. The premier upfitter for Jeeps and Trucks in Kentucky is right here in Nicholsville on Howard Road.
Starting point is 00:29:53 Howard Road. I got it right. All right. Two quick things. First of all, thank you to this man, Tom, who just came over. He brought me a book for my mom. It is a Bible Atlas, which is nice enough in and of itself, because my mom will like this. But it was made in 1915 and published in Middlesborough, Kentucky. And he brought it to give to my mom. So thank you very much. She will very much appreciate that. That's pretty cool. So that's kind of cool. I didn't even know Middlesbrough. Your mom will love that.
Starting point is 00:30:19 She will absolutely. And let me just say about my mom, she's getting her doctor in, you know, she already graduated from seminary. She's getting a doctor in religion. I think it's what it's called. And at Wheaton University in Chicago, and she just finished her first semester on Wednesday.
Starting point is 00:30:38 So congratulations to my mom. I mean, again, everybody brags about their kids and their mother. But my mom is 71 years. And she is and she decides everybody else she they retire and they rest. My mom's out there going to Chicago to do graduate school. I just how awesome is that? So if she gets all age, you take her to Cracker Barrel for an all or a good report card? She always gets an A and she always is like she's like worried before the final. Oh, am I going to pass and like she gets all nervous that we've completely flipped roles. Like I have to be the parent going, are you studying? Okay, then you're going to be fine. We have we have completely flipped. rolls when it comes to this. We need to get you a little bumper sticker that says proud son of a four-oh student. I'm embarrassed. That's good.
Starting point is 00:31:22 I would love us. I would love that. I also, I will say, she had a paper due at the end of the term. And it was due, let's say it was due on a Monday. And 10 days before it was due, she said, I finished my paper, I'm going to turn it in. You know what I said to her? Don't do that. I was like, do not turn it in 10 days early.
Starting point is 00:31:41 And she said, but I'm already done with it. And I said, yeah, but that'll just make. you look like a brown nosing like just wait and she goes well i'm not going to be like you and turn it in five minutes before you're a procrastinator then it makes you look bad yeah i said we'll wait like three days before it's due and then she did that and i think that was a better a better yeah you don't want the other students to call her the teacher's pet exactly and if i'm a professor and i get a paper 10 days before it's due i'm going to go well you probably could have done more work on this she's bringing her paper bike with a big apple there next but i did say i was like you don't want to be
Starting point is 00:32:14 the teacher's pet You know, I was trying to, I'm being the parent here. Nobody likes the kid in class. It's like, oh, you forgot the quiz today. That's exactly right. I didn't want mom to be like that. All right, tell me about Stockton Morgan's before I go to phone. Oh, I've got a good read for you here today.
Starting point is 00:32:30 While you're putting it up, who's up next? Will is up next. Will, go ahead, Will. Hey, Matt, sorry if somebody brought this up already, but I had to want to call in and say how much I enjoyed your segment the other night with Myron on. fun facts of Massachusetts. Yeah, okay, before you go on, they're doing this thing, 50 states and 50 days, right?
Starting point is 00:32:55 And so every day you focus on a new state. So the other day when I did the show, it was Massachusetts. And they were making fun of me saying that's not how you say. I said Massachusetts, they're like, it's Massachusetts. Yeah. Yeah. How do you say? Massachusetts.
Starting point is 00:33:11 They got those T's in there. You see them? They're optional. It's a couple. of them. Massachusetts. Maybe in Middlesborough, it's Massachusetts. Everybody else is Massachusetts? That's how Mike Tyson says it. Massachusetts. Well, that's how I say it, Massachusetts. But go ahead. I thought Myron was worried about the dump button there. But last question. Do we have a date for the pardon of my think over this year? Well, as I said yesterday, I'm going to actually, to go with my mom at some
Starting point is 00:33:40 point, I'm going to go to Chicago and do it with them on a day. But we have not picked out the date. yet. We're going to do it from their studios up there. Awesome. Awesome. I'm sorry. Thanks, guys. Yeah. And they've got a TV show now. Did you see that? Big time. Yeah. They've been on this show for, I guess they started whatever year the Harambe thing was. So that was like 2013. And now they're going to have, along with a bunch of other people, their own television show on FS1. So congratulations. And they love it. They love doing KSR once in the live. It's a live show and they can talk to callers live on the other.
Starting point is 00:34:12 If they could get on FS1, we could get on FS2 then, right? No, that's law familiar. There's other stuff. All right, now tell me about stock. Listen, this Reed's going to knock your socks off. No, it's not. Love the house, but not the kitchen. Stockton's renovation loans were made for that.
Starting point is 00:34:27 Buy it, fix it, love it, all in one loan. And you know, home prices have changed. Say buy it, fix it, love it? Yeah, buy it, fix it, love it. Okay, you just bring it down. Home prices have changed, but so have your option. Stockton mortgage has access to programs like down payment assistance. low down payment loans and more ways to help you buy with confidence visit stockton.com
Starting point is 00:34:49 stockton mortgage nmLS 8259 equal housing lender nmLS consumer access dot org back to you matthew did a i write that uh i don't know i got it from the sales rep so i'm assuming maybe it was who's up next dalton is up next don't go ahead dalton all right you all right we're going to be fired up a little bit of this uh church out of thing i live not far from there and ever since i started working right down there working with people that live in the neighborhood I've realized how much this is not the commonwealth of Kentucky. This is the Commonwealth of Churchill down, whether it's from the historical racing machines, quote, unquote,
Starting point is 00:35:26 to running the fences down the middle of the road, so you completely block off the neighborhood. You take over for a weekend. Those people can't sell their parking spots in their yards. They can't sell food like they used to back in the day. And to bind up every little bit of land there and now moving the time as the only consideration for them, that the city would, the city and the state would let Churchill Downs do anything they want.
Starting point is 00:35:49 Churchill Downs could call Mayor Greenberg tonight and say, hey, next Thursday, we're thinking about setting all the streets on fire down here. They will. You all plan on cleaning up when you're done? No, we still plan on bringing those millionaires in? Yep. All right, set them on fire. We'll put it on the news.
Starting point is 00:36:06 I mean, I don't totally disagree with you. I mean, Churchill is an arrogant entity. I don't think there's any doubt about that. But the Derby is important to the state. It's especially important to the city of Louisville. So I get what you're saying, though. I mean, listen, the experience. I don't blame them for acting that way.
Starting point is 00:36:27 If I was in that position, it would be very hard to not throw your weight around. And I don't really blame the state for Caltown to them either. It's just that's how it is. It is. And I agree with you. And the experience, and I appreciate the call, as a Kentucky and the experience of going to the derby is working. now than it was 15 years ago.
Starting point is 00:36:45 Like he's talking about, you know, we used to walk the neighborhood street around it, and it was the most fun thing in the world. And that experience has gotten worse over the years. Like it's not as cool, it's not as much of a party as it used to be. I mean, that's right. At the same time, for one weekend, Kentucky is the center of the world, the sporting world. And that, we're not going to get that any other way.
Starting point is 00:37:11 So it's, I kind of, it's odd. I kind of see both sides, you know? You can't blame Churchill. That's what those people position to do. But like, but I mean, their job is to make money. Yeah. I mean, you hear from locals that have been priced out of the infield. Forever, you know, you can throw on a pair of shorts at the tank top and whatever it costs,
Starting point is 00:37:28 go sit in the infield in your lawn chair. Now I think even locals that's gotten to where a lot of them can't afford to go. You just have to be careful. It's kind of like Ryan with the UK football when we talked many years ago about how they changed everything for the people, the regular fans that were tailed. educating, et cetera. You can do that as long as things keep cooking. But then one day if things get bad, you may be going back to those people and saying come back and they're less likely to come back, right? So UK football, I think's experiencing that right now. Teams not as good. Tickets
Starting point is 00:38:01 aren't as exciting. And now a lot of these people are not coming back. And the school's like, what's happening? Why is this happening? Well, you kind of ran them off 10 years ago. And that was easy to do when things were going well, but when they don't go well, then what do you do? It's hard to win the fan base back when something like that happens, man. You know, it's hard to get them to come back and buy back in. You mentioned the football. That's a great example. But like that color talked about in Louisville, you know, I remember when Saturday used to be Louisville's Day at the, I mean, Friday was Duval's Day at the track.
Starting point is 00:38:28 Then it was Thurby. Then it's when that's all it's Tuesday. Well, I mean, they go, Oaks Friday, Thurby. What do they call Wednesday? Wednesday. Wednesday. And now they have 5-0 Tuesday. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:40 They keep taking it away from the locals that have made it. They're just going to start telling the locals come in April. All right. You don't get to be part of it until then. Who's next? Seth is up next. Seth. Go ahead, Seth.
Starting point is 00:38:54 Hey. Hey? Are you there? Still here? Have it left. Are you there? We're gone. No, we're no longer here.
Starting point is 00:39:03 Are you there? Okay, bye. Thank you. Who's next? Matt is up next. Matt, go ahead, Matt. What's up guys? What's going on?
Starting point is 00:39:14 What's up, guys? Hey, you're all right? I just want to say a couple of things. I'm sitting out in my garden, and that was hilarious. I'm sitting out my garden just finished meditating. And I just want to give big applause to your mom. Man, she sounds like a wonderful, amazing woman. And that's probably why you're so successful.
Starting point is 00:39:40 Well, that's very nice of you. To whatever extent I have any success, it certainly wouldn't be without her. So you're exactly right about that. Well, I kind of like to give a shout out to my mom. My dad was a Baptist pastor for 62 years, and my mom, he passed away several years ago, but my mom still shares his journey. He has this saying, everybody she meets. I don't know if I'm supposed to talk about religion.
Starting point is 00:40:10 on this show but everybody she meets she asked my dad had this saying saying if are you a winner or loser in life and you know depending on what they would say um he would you know to be a winner you have to have the lord in your life and my mom still does that and uh she's 92 years old that's very nice 92 years old you should be very uh embrace those moments let me ask you question are you still you still doing the meditating you you only tend to call fridays towards the end of the show is that like your is that your post meditation time it is and i have i have upgraded my meditation okay what is that i've actually learned some new things uh since uh i got a little bit of uh notoriety on the show people at work have been talking to me and teaching me and teaching
Starting point is 00:41:08 me newer things. Shout out Ben Stidham. But a breathing. Shout out Ben Stidham. Heck yeah. Great teacher. Ben Stidim knows how to meditate. Well, listen, I hope you and Ben Stidham and everybody in Brethick County gets all your Zen on.
Starting point is 00:41:24 And thank you very much for calling. It's Hyman. It's Hyman. Oh, I was like, what? Hyman, sorry. God bless. Make sure you enunciate that word. We will take a break and be right back.

Starting point is 00:43:56 Like, I've never understood that. Like, it didn't make sense in my brain. It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you, but don't ever feel like you don't feel like. Don't let that be the reason you don't do it. An Olympic champs Gabby Thomas and Katie Ladecki. I'll probably watch it this weekend.
Starting point is 00:46:36 Sunday, sorry. Yeah, I'll watch it this weekend at some point. I was a big fan of the first one. I love the first. I don't know anybody that didn't like the first one. Yeah. MJF, by the way, is the son of Happy Gilmore, of Adam Sandler. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:47 I just thought you'd appreciate it. It doesn't sound like you appreciate that. Do you like that? I'm a little worried, you know, sequels and redoing movies can go really long, but I am excited. I'm going to do like a family movie night. My sister's in. My parents are both recovering, so going to get the family together and have a viewing this
Starting point is 00:47:05 weekend yeah I won't go into the details but Drew's been going through a lot in the last couple weeks weeks with his family so everybody say a prayer for his parents uh I don't know how much you've talked about yeah I mentioned it and they're doing well they're recovering from surgeries though but I think for everyone that prayed and reached out already so thank you so that that's very nice all right lexington SC and Louisville uh Louisville city are we going to win mr jersey yeah Louisville doesn't win in this town come on man yeah they're going to be a great crowd it'll be excited sold out I mean, that's awesome to have that. It's a great facility out there sold out.
Starting point is 00:47:37 What time's the game? Seven. Seven o'clock? Yep. I just got a text this morning, though, with my details for the march to the match. I'm going to go early and tailgate. Oh, they're marching. We're marching into the stadium.
Starting point is 00:47:49 I don't know where we start. This is all new. I'm still getting these messages during the show, but I'm going to get out there. There's a concert. I'm going to make a little early evening of it before the match. Can you bet this on draft kings? I bet you can. You just have to look for it, but I bet you can.
Starting point is 00:48:04 This is, I mean, again, if you don't follow that league, Louisville, I think, has won, I want to say two out of the last three years are one of the best teams in the league. Lexington with their first chance, or first crack at them here in Lexington. I think they played in Louisville earlier this year. Now, are the Louisville guys wearing red jerseys? I don't know, but this is, their colors are normally green, right? And they're wearing blue for this game. Just for this game, yeah. That's why I went up the Louisville team wearing right.
Starting point is 00:48:28 George Purple. Did you see the story about the Memphis football player, Shannon? Oh, yeah. Yeah, I love the story. This is a great story. So I guess the Memphis football player, I guess he got mad at his teammates. He was upset at him, I guess, for, I don't know, for just the way they played. So they were, you know, I think he was transferring.
Starting point is 00:48:45 So their defensive back sent the quarterback for Texas San Antonio these texts. Here you go. Here's the playbook. Here are all the signals. Far left are the coverages. If they run, they run quarters so none of the safeties can cover. no rerout on the slot. The field safety is the weakest link.
Starting point is 00:49:08 When they run out of eligibility, playing with number zero, here are all the play calls. He sent them before the game. They used it. They beat Memphis by one score. Memphis missed the playoff by one game. Basically, this dude probably cost Memphis the chance at winning the conference championship and going to the playoffs. Now that player then transferred to Purdue, I think, right?
Starting point is 00:49:31 So now if you're Purdue, it just came out yesterday. Yeah, you got that guy on your team now. Can you trust them? That's a good question. If you were Purdue, would you want that guy to play? I don't know anything that's happened on this, but I did go to the Purdue website just to see it, read about the guy, and he wasn't on their roster. So I don't know if something happened in the last 20, that was this morning. How bad would you be if you were a Memphis fan at this story?
Starting point is 00:49:56 I'd be furious at this story. Well, imagine it's Kentucky. Put Kentucky in that situation. Take Memphis out of it and say it's Kentucky. Kentucky and they lost by one score or one went away from going to the playoffs and it was 44 38 so they gave up 44 points so clearly you know it had an impact oh absolutely yeah if they're scoring that many points against you and you're you know texas san Antonio yeah well they were good but that was a big game for them my two favorite things are the quarterback that's getting the info when he just sending like crying emojis back to every response he was like doing
Starting point is 00:50:25 l-o-l just didn't know what's do with it but then also that poor safety getting called out I think you got a the guy. I mean, most of it was pretty vague, but he's like also number zero. The safety is trash. He's terrible. Go right at him. Now, I mean, I wonder what happened with the Texas San Antonio quarterback. Did he go tell his coaches? Did they use it as part of the game plan? I mean, that hasn't been said yet. You have to assume they did, but if you were a coach and your player came with that, do you use it? I think you take it and then you kind of tiptoe into it, but then during the course of the game, if you realize this stuff's right, man, I think you go all in. I I think you lean into it.
Starting point is 00:51:01 Hang on just a second. You only cheat if you need to. I think because you know if this guy was feeding you some bad info. He could have been, you know. But you don't think the coach has a responsibility maybe to say to the other coach, hey, this happened? No. No.
Starting point is 00:51:16 Not at all. I'm surprised. I thought you were like Mr. sportsmanship. You know, in baseball, they steal signs. Everybody's stealing signs. But you're always against them stealing signs. I am, but they do it.
Starting point is 00:51:26 I mean, they're going to do it. So I bet those coaches knew what the guy said. But waited until the game started to see if it was accurate. And once they found it was accurate, they went all in with it. Interesting. And then if you're the one- How did it get out? That's the thing.
Starting point is 00:51:37 If you're the team that got it, why would you want to leak that? I'm fascinated as to how it got out. What are the chain of events? Because it is the actual text message that is out. I think it was a Memphis site that reported it, which they would have the incentive, but I don't know how that website actually got it. That's fascinating to me as to how that happened. Like somebody would have had to have almost hacked into that account to get it.
Starting point is 00:52:03 Yeah, I don't know. Why would you serve it? That's why you have to change your signs, UK.
