This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter.

I don't think you know about weather. Did you know that until yesterday, there were only four major cities in America where it had never in history been 100 degrees?
Starting point is 00:02:56 Okay. Okay. Four major cities in America. And here's a little hint. Not in the same place. All over America. Really? Had never been 100 degrees.
Starting point is 00:03:06 Would you like to take a guess? And one of them yesterday hit 100 degrees for the first time. Okay. Okay. So now we're down to three. Yeah. Do you know the answer to this question? Shannon, you're shaking like you do.
Starting point is 00:03:16 I think I do. Okay. Then don't say it. Okay. So you two gas, do you know either the city that got to 100 yesterday or the city or the city any of the cities that have never been 100. I don't know who hit 100 yesterday, but I guess I would think of some northern cities, Minneapolis.
Starting point is 00:03:35 Ah, that's what I was going to say. Minneapolis has been 100. Seattle? Seattle was my next guess. Also been 100. Portland? No. Juneau, Alaska.
Starting point is 00:03:45 Give me another city in the state. Anchorage, Alaska is one of the cities that has never been 100 degrees and still hasn't been 100 degrees in history. Portland, Maine. No. we're not going to spend the whole show just to get me northern cities but does anybody else have any
Starting point is 00:04:01 well that's what I said they're all over the place okay also never been 100 Honolulu never been 100 degrees I would have guessed that I would never have thought that
Starting point is 00:04:12 and then Buffalo New York has never been 100 but yesterday and this surprised me for the first time in its history Tampa hit 100 degrees
Starting point is 00:04:24 no way Tampa had never been 100 degrees before, which I guess that's Shannon. What do you think? Because of the wind or the, because it's like south. So you would think it would, Tampa had never been 100 degrees. It surprised me to hear that. I would have thought that every city in Florida would have hit 100 at some point. You would have thought it. But Tampa had never been 100 degrees until yesterday for the very first time in its history of 100 degrees. I guarantee you 99% of the people thought that was a lie. Do you think Tampa, Florida on the coast? It's definitely got to be a hundred. I don't know. I mean, I'm sure there's
Starting point is 00:04:53 something about like stratosphere and the wind coming in the parametric pressure and you know they're like a channel or something yeah like the english channel there's all kinds of things i'm sure there's some scientific reason but they had never been 100 degrees so now we're down to anchorage uh honolulu and buffalo and they said it'll probably never happen in anchorage or honolulu unless like the earth is like boiling. So Buffalo Buffalo is the last remaining standing. It hasn't been to 100 degrees. So Shannon, I don't know why
Starting point is 00:05:29 I found that so interesting, but I did. Yeah, I mean, it's kind of cool. You would have thought that, I would have thought that pretty much every place had hit 100 at some point in history, but apparently not. We got just a few left. Is that why you wore a buffalo sweatshirt today? You know what? I hadn't thought of that, but Buffalo is the last of the contiguous United States. Buffalo
Starting point is 00:05:51 is the one holdout. We will not be 100 degrees in Buffalo. You know, they have a lake. Maybe that's part of why it won't. Yeah. That should have been answer number one, especially since it's on the shirt. I'm looking at... Buffalo does not believe in global warming. It's not happening there. Yeah, it's just, well, they've held it off. They've no sold it. They're like, you know what? We're not going to have it here, everybody. That's what we're going to do. So I just thought that was an interesting fact. It's very interesting considering Tampa on a loo. I don't know. I don't understand why Tampa was, though. If somebody knows, I would be interested how Tampa somehow survived it. Whereas like Miami, even Jacksonville, who's more north has been than Tampa. Orlando, but for
Starting point is 00:06:31 whatever reason, Tampa hadn't been. Okay. So I like Drew, when people say, I like when people have confidence. Do you like when people have confidence? You got to have confidence. I like when people come out and they go, you know, this is how it's going to be. I got things to say. I'm going to win. Yep. Just stay in bed if you don't have confidence. Yeah, it's exactly right. I like when people have confidence. Now, you know, confidence can turn into arrogance if you go too far, but confidence is good. But then there are the people who sometimes say stuff where you go, whoa, like, you know, you're sure about that, Johnny? It's pretty bold. Pretty bold.
Starting point is 00:07:04 That's a little bold. We had one of those yesterday. Okay. At the Louisville, at the Louisville, the UK, the UK football kickoff. lunch. For many years, Shannon, I was the speaker. I was the MC at this. And then they just kicked me out one time. I can't remember why it was. I did it for like five straight years. Must have been something you said. Probably. But that was when I was still getting along with like Cal and didn't you make some sort of joke or something. Oh, I made a squirting joke.
Starting point is 00:07:40 That's what Ryan, that's not at Rupperina anymore. Yeah, but I didn't say that word though. I think I I think I said something like, I don't remember, but you're right. It was something to do with the whole. It was a joke of some sort. With that whole thing. It's a good memory, Shannon. I think you're right. So I don't do any more.
Starting point is 00:07:58 Tom Leach now does it. And they interview the, he's like to do that. Yeah, Tom Leach is. Tom's safe. You know, he's like to say. I mean, Tom is great, but Tom is like, you know, ordering white bread at the store. You don't have to worry about any.
Starting point is 00:08:14 There's going to be no problems when you have. of Tom Leach, right? So they interview the coaches, and Bush Hamden was there yesterday, the offensive coordinator. Yeah. Now, he's been the office coordinator for a year, but I can't think of one thing he's ever said. Can you? No.
Starting point is 00:08:30 I think we've had him on here two or three times. I'm not 100% sure what he looks like. Well, last year his first season, he got here late. We didn't really have an off season with him. Then the season starts. I mean, give me your favorite Bush Hamden fact. Oh, we average 20 points per game last year. Is that a fact, though?
Starting point is 00:08:47 Yeah, it's not a good one, but that's my fact. But can you, like, think of one thing he's ever said? Not that he said. Shannon, can you think of, I say, give me your best Bush Hamden story. What do you say? Got nothing until yesterday. Nothing. He's from Kuwait.
Starting point is 00:09:00 He is from Kuwait. Yeah, military background. Okay. Now that you say that, there's a fact. Well, now I have something, and this is one of those, be careful what you wish for. Yeah. Like, if you're going to say something like this, you better meet him. Bush Hamden during the conversation said,
Starting point is 00:09:16 with Tom Leach, he said this, quote, this offensive line this year is going to remind us of some of the great offensive lines Kentucky has ever had. Wow. Yeah. Now, remember, we had arguably the worst offensive line in the history of organized football last year. And he, and it was bad. And he has now jumped that from, hey, we're going to be better. we've gotten better up front to one of the best we've ever had. Good move, bad move.
Starting point is 00:09:56 Does it make you confident? Does it make you work? Like, what did you think of that? I knew where you were going when you started talking about having confidence. Yeah, me too. Because his comment of everything that happened yesterday, Stoop spoke for like 45 minutes. It's the only quote I cared about. My main takeaway, I love it because I want to hear it.
Starting point is 00:10:13 But I'll admit as soon as he said it, I was like, you weren't even here. Were you like in the NFL? And like, that's a big, they were not just good. They were the best line of the country for a run of three of the five guys get draft. And it just made me think, if Stoops had said it or Brad White had said it, it would admit them a lot more. I just thought, oh, no, I hope you're not, you know, putting them up so high.
Starting point is 00:10:34 It's something they can't reach before they play a game. But it was, it did give me a little excitement, I'll admit, even though I thought it was crazy for him to say it. Smart? Yes, I think why not? You know, he likes who he has up front. This is something I'd heard, you know, we talked about a couple months ago,
Starting point is 00:10:48 that the way they kind of fit the pieces together, the Pete guy is supposed to be a superstar in the making. He'll probably get drafted. Who's that? The dude from New Mexico State, his last name's Pete. The guy that's going to be on the show? Yeah. The Native American guy?
Starting point is 00:11:01 He's a monster. He's a great interview. And he's huge. Jagger's moving to center, so that frees up some guys and play the guard, their normal position. So I want to hear that from my coach. This is a talking season.
Starting point is 00:11:11 Why not talk it up? All right, Shannon. a good idea? I'm all about confidence, but when people think that you're only going to win three games, I think you lay low, you fly under the radar as much as possible, and let your offensive lines speak for itself once the game starts.
Starting point is 00:11:25 I'm not going to go, they're terrible, but I'm going to say maybe they're going to surprise you a little bit. I don't think I'm going to go out and say this is one of the best offensive lines this team has ever seen. That's pretty bold. Yeah, I mean, I think this is one of those lines that when you say it, you better back it up. You better back it up. I mean, this is
Starting point is 00:11:41 one of those lines that will stick with you if things don't work. That, you know, you, this is going to be something that when we give up six sacks in a game, people will retweet this quote. And they'll tag like old takes exposed. So you better be right. You know, there are certain times that I think coaches can say things that stick. And I think part of it is because it's Bush Hamden and we don't know anything about him.
Starting point is 00:12:13 this will be the thing that I think people will know about him. They will remember throughout the year, we have one of the best offensive lines we've ever had here. And now if we do, then he's a swashbuckling pirate. Right. But if we don't, then that line becomes like pony up. Yeah. A line that gets brought up as an example of how things. So, I mean, I don't mind him doing it.
Starting point is 00:12:46 But Ryan, he better be right. Got to be right. Got to back it up. Now, you know, I guess, you know, they're thinking on the left side of the line. Those guys are all NFL guys. The right tackle. Who is our offense flag? Jaggers the center.
Starting point is 00:12:57 Yeah. What's our guy that's the guy you said that's so good? What's his name? His last name's Pete. She has Pete. I like him. He didn't interview with Nick Rausch. I could just listen to him to talk forever.
Starting point is 00:13:07 He said. He's going to be on here Friday. And he said he likes Mark Stoops because he's a statesman. That's what he said. A states. That's exactly how he described Mark Stoops. I'm not even sure I know what that means, but I like hearing Pete time. I mean, even you give the most positive view of Mark Stoops, would anyone call him a statesman?
Starting point is 00:13:23 That's why Pete's awesome. Like who, when I say the word statesman, who do you think of? Like Henry Clay? Yeah. Bob Dole. Yeah. Distinguished. You know, somebody very distinguished.
Starting point is 00:13:34 Do you think Mark Stoops is a statesman? No, but I like hearing it. Wow. So he should be like ambassador to North Korea or something. Instead of motivated and grateful, we should have statesman stooped. So statesman stoops. All right. So then you got him, you got your Jagger.
Starting point is 00:13:46 Who else? Josh Braun was the highest rated player on the video game. I keep using the video game from our previews. He'll be a guard. He came from Arkansas. He's left guard. Those two guys on the left side. We've got Pete, Josh Braun, Jagger.
Starting point is 00:14:01 Then who are the other two? Jalen Farmer's back. He was on the team last year, started. Obviously, the line didn't go well. But of all those pieces last season, I think they're pretty excited to have him back. Who's the last one? Maybe that kid from Madison Central, right? The right tackle?
Starting point is 00:14:14 You got, there's, what's a, Walshlogger? He's around. Wolfslogger? Yeah, Wiberley. We got some long W-W words on there. Wiberley, I think, is the backup center. Braun, though, Braun and Pete are two names to really know. We know Jagger.
Starting point is 00:14:29 And I don't know if you've seen Jagger lately, Ryan. He's a monster. Much bigger than he was a year ago. I don't know what he did. So, Shannon, does that sound like one of the great offensive lines that has ever played at this school? Just based off those names, No.
Starting point is 00:14:42 You've got Pete, you've got Goldschlager. You've got Braun, Braun. He's drinking a lot of gold shlogger in college. Farmer. Farmer. Selm? No. Selm. He's a backup.
Starting point is 00:14:53 I'm not sold. I'm not sold yet. Well, I like it. You know, we're getting, we're getting to Friday as Media Day. I'm going to try to be like, rah, ra, re, hit him in the knee. Why not? Ra, ra, rass, kick him in the other knee. But, but, but you say anything.
Starting point is 00:15:11 like this, it gets me excited, but I'm also thinking, man, Bush, uh, I hope you're right or we're going to have to head for the mountains of Bush and just be, you know, criticized. Do you think Wolford was like, hey, man, what you do it? Keep it down there. Well, they brought another guy in, too. They've got the dude we, yeah, the backup. The backup. So maybe there's a lot of things. I found the, uh, more interesting that Hamden said it because all season stoops, it seems that they've been intentional and not setting any expectation. They haven't named a player. Yeah. They haven't said anything about we're going to be good at this.
Starting point is 00:15:43 They have been very vanilla, and he took it to the extreme yesterday. All right. Well, there you go. Do your thing. Maybe that's why they gave Wolford the big raise. They know their offensive line is much improved. Well, we'll see. I mean, it couldn't have been worse.
Starting point is 00:15:58 It couldn't have been worse. 859-280, 2287. We are here. Tampa is celebrating 100 degrees, and we are celebrating the best offensive line that we're, we've ever had. That's next here on KSR. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind.

Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing. And we're still chasing it. And we don't know when we've done enough. Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses.
Starting point is 00:17:39 Steve Burns, Dustin Ross, because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on Earth, or are you a good person because you're afraid? We were God's chosen kingdom on earth. He felt destined for greatness. So when a swaggering Armenian businessman catapults Jacob into an extraordinary world, he doesn't look back. Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, meeting the president of Turkey.
Starting point is 00:18:29 I'm Michelle McPhee, and this is one of the most shocking criminal conspiracies I've ever come across. When Jacob met Levant to a billion dollar fraud. On hurdle with Emily Abadi, we sit down with the most inspiring women in sports and wellness, professional athletes, coaches, and Olympic champions to talk about the challenges that shaped them and the mindset that keeps them going. From the WNBA standout Kate Martin and rising hockey star Layla Edwards. If a boy can do it, I don't see why a girl can't. Like, I've never understood that.
Starting point is 00:19:31 Like, it didn't make sense in my brain. It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you, but don't ever feel like you don't. belong. Don't let that be the reason you don't do it. An Olympic champs Gabby Thomas and Katie Ladeki. The ability to show gold medal to someone and have their face light up and smile, that means the world to me. And that's what motivates me to win more gold medals. At our level, at this scale, like being able to fail in front of the entire world. Like, I can do anything.
Starting point is 00:19:59 Like, I can do anything. Because resilience isn't just about winning. It's about showing up, even when it's hard. Starting point is 00:20:14 of IHeart Women's Sports. Welcome back to TeguSports Radio. Now here's the explanation. Tampa hit 100 degrees because of a highly anomalous 500 MB. What's MB stand for? Megabytes. You think so? On my computer. Yeah. I don't think that's right. But I'm going to say it. 500 megabytes
Starting point is 00:20:32 ridge and an uncommon wind pattern, the wind blew from different direction than it normally does. It did not allow the cool breeze in and 100 degrees hit for the first time since recorded temperature. It's crazy. Where it sits, you'd think in St. Petersburg, Tampa, maybe a lot of cities on the west coast of Florida would be the same way.
Starting point is 00:20:51 Why is it Tampa? Seems to be kind of original. I don't know. You ask people. I'm just reading you the facts here. You're the Ebor City expert. Yes. At K.Y. Sports Radio.
Starting point is 00:21:01 One person writes, Matt, I've been one of Stoops as harsh as critics, but I'm in. I think it's the offensive. line, but it's also just me hoping. I'm in, too. Now, we'll see if we're in in week two. The question is, when I get on that plane to go to South Africa, are people still going to be in? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:18 Because that will be after the Toledo and the Ole Miss game, but before the Eastern Illinois game. So will people still be in when I get on the plane to Johannesburg? Yes. Depends on how well they play Ole Miss if they don't beat them. Are they competitive or do they get blown out? That's going to be the difference, I think. You think so?
Starting point is 00:21:39 Yeah. Well, first of all, you're assuming we have to beat Toledo. Well, if you don't beat Toledo, of course people are going to be upset. Okay. So what is the spread on Old Miss that keeps people happy? Let's say we beat Toledo. The spread is 12 and a half. Let's say we beat them by two touchdowns.
Starting point is 00:21:57 We beat them 31-17 or 24, you know, 2410. It's a good win. Then what happens? That's a good win. They're a good team pick to win, a tough conference. And what happens when we play Ole Miss? What does it have to be? I think you have to play Ole Miss close.
Starting point is 00:22:12 You've played them close down there. Twy beat them last year, played them close at home. Seems like every game with Ole Miss comes down to the fourth quarter. You can't start taking steps backwards on your own field. But to be fair, they will have had all off season. This is their first real game. They'll have played some stinky team in the first game. So in theory, Lane's got all his stuff.
Starting point is 00:22:32 He was embarrassed by what happened last year. they didn't make the playoff probably because they lost to us. Do you think that we can keep that game close? That's my biggest fear, what you just said. Lane Kiffin will not only try to pour it on, he will keep pouring it on, try to score as many points he can and embarrass Kentucky. Bring it on.
Starting point is 00:22:50 The Steve's already said it, strap it on. Let's go. Yeah, he said strap it on. Yeah, so he's not scared of Kiffin. Come on. It is weird. You make, I mean, we've played them like three times in the last six or eight years. And every game has been close.
Starting point is 00:23:03 Should have beat them twice. The flag on Danes touchdown. You had the flag on Danes. And even the time before that was that, that was Auburn we played during COVID. Well, they played here in D.K. Metcalfe moster guy in the corner of the end zone to win, and had them beat. But we were in that game too. That was A.J. Brown and D.K. Metcalf.
Starting point is 00:23:20 And they're not as good this year as they were last year. I mean, they lost their quarterback. They put a lot of money into that roster last year. So in theory, that we could be just as good. Their new quarterback, there's, he's kind of projected middle of the pack, SEC quarterback, and this will be his first big start as their new leader. So he'll have pressure on him being on the road. We look at it as a tough spot for Kentucky, but that's a tough spot for him.
Starting point is 00:23:41 Yeah, I mean, they can't lose. Yeah. That's a lot of pressure on them. They cannot lose that game. I think we all agree. I think it's the biggest game of the season for Kentucky. You got to get that early. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:50 And then you got South Carolina coming the week after that. I'm sure when I saw the news, I knew you would be sad about Ryan Sandberg. It kind of really broke my heart. I mean, he was like one of my idols growing up, you know, When I was in high school, he was the bomb. He was MVP. He was just not only a great player, but seemed like to be a classy, great guy. He was somebody you want to model your life after.
Starting point is 00:24:12 I was not a Cubs fan, but I had all the Ryan Sandberg baseball cards. I really worshipped the guy. I really liked it. It was kind of sad. So, you know, if you're of a certain age, which is my age, your age, to some extent Drew's age, certainly Shannon. You know, when you were there were two baseball teams on television, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:30 I mean, you had the Braves. If you lived here, you had the Braves. and the Cubs. Yep. That's what was on TV. The Super Stations. The Super Stations. And so most kids chose Braves or Cubs because those were the two games on. I mean, there might have been people who were Reds and Cardinals fans up here. But where I grew up, you had the Braves and the Cubs. I chose the Braves, but my friend DJ chose the Cubs. And when you're thinking about the classic Braves people, we've talked about Dale Murphy and Bob Horner. And then you got into the 90s with Glaven Smolts, etc. But for the Cubs,
Starting point is 00:24:59 there was really two, right? Ryan Sandberg, Andre Dawson. Yep. Those are the two. I think of them before Sosa or anyone ever in a Cubs uniform. Those are the two. The Cubs stunk during that time. And it was Ryan Sandberg and Andre Dawson. And they're like a whole generation of people that are like you that it's all Ryan Sandberg.
Starting point is 00:25:19 And I think the equivalent would be Shannon for the Braves of Dale Murphy dies. It's a very similar sort of connection I think people would have. You're right. Because before the day and age of every game was on TV, you could watch. Watch the Cubs in the afternoon and the Braves at night. And you're right, the Cubs always played during the day because they didn't have lights yet. And then Rick Sutcliffe was, no, he was. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:43 He was a great pitcher. He was a great pitcher. He had Mark Grace was their first baseman. Yeah. So you had all those guys. And what I didn't realize is he was like 71 years old. Yeah. It does not seem like he would be that old, does he?
Starting point is 00:25:56 No, not at all. And I'm like you. I chose the Braves or the Cubs. You had that one decision. but my next door neighbor, Dylan, who's probably listening, picked the Cubs. I texted him last night. I mean, he loves Sandberg. Heck, I'm like Ryan, even though it wasn't my team, I love Sandberg.
Starting point is 00:26:09 I mean, best second basement of that era, maybe. It doesn't seem like he was that old because he wasn't that old. He was 65. Well, that's, everybody's got a different opinion. But he was. He was only 65. Okay, all right. So that's, but still, though, it doesn't, that still feels older to me than he would be.
Starting point is 00:26:28 But I, when I thought, when I heard it, I thought, I thought, you because I've always heard you over the years express your admiration. Yeah, you know, our first names are not exactly the same, but I kind of like the fact that it was Ryan Sandberg and I'm Ryan Lemon, so I was a baseball player. That was what it was. Did you go back? Rino. Yeah, I did. A lot of my people called me Rino. So rest in peace to Ryan Samburg. Passed away at the age of, at least according to Shannon, 65 years old. Well, the internet. But you know more than the internet. We found that out in Pittsburgh. I'm glad you're appreciated.
Starting point is 00:26:59 I'm still one of the best stories. Let's go to Reese. Go ahead, Reese. 859-28027. A couple open lines. Reese. Hey, Matt. I think I have figured out the rev share question.
Starting point is 00:27:12 I think you and Norlander are both correct. Norlander said something on the podcast that I think's kind of been skipped over. But he said if Pope was smart, which I think we can agree he is, he would have frontloaded this year with purely NIL, no rev share. And that gives him double rev share for next year. And so I think the real number is four and a half million. for basketball, but next year they can go overboard and have $9 million, and they could return a senior Jane, Jalen Lowe, have Colin Chandler, Trent Noah,
Starting point is 00:27:42 the number one player in the country, and a Brandon Garrison, and just go all out for a title. I think there is a very good chance that what you're saying is correct, and I appreciate the call. So I am becoming fascinated with just how all this is going to work going forward, right? Like how is Kentucky? Kentucky specifically. How are we going to do things? And I think it seems to me that what he said, and this is what Norlander went into,
Starting point is 00:28:08 and we'll talk more about this about the break, that Kentucky has basically created this two-year window where they are going all in for basketball. They did it this year, and they're doing it this year with NIL, old school, and then they're doing it next year with Rev Shere. And basically going, we're going for a final four in the next two years. It'll be interesting to see if that happens. But they basically front-loaded collective money this year and they'll backload it with RevShare next year.
Starting point is 00:28:37 I think he's probably right. We'll be right back. T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney. Call T.J., he'll make them pay. Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. Welcome back, Tegi Sports Radio. 859-280-2287.
Starting point is 00:28:52 Slow on the calls today. I'm here ready to take them. I don't know why. I would love to chat with you. If you have thoughts, I thought some people would be like, Bush Homon is too confident. Maybe he's the exact right amount of confident.
Starting point is 00:29:06 But you can let me know. MB stands for millibars. Okay. Good to know. Does that change anything? It still stands for Megabytes. It's absolutely nothing. One person writes, Matt,
Starting point is 00:29:17 what about the other guys on the Cub? Sean Dunstan. Yeah. Sean Dunstan is a very good one. You mentioned Mark Grace. Greg Maddox? He was on there for a tub. until he went to the Braves.
Starting point is 00:29:29 Didn't he go back to the Cubs after he left the Braves for like a short stint? Did he? I didn't remember that. I might be wrong. Did he go into the Hall of Fame as a Cub or a Brave? I always think it's funny how they make the players choose one. Yeah. You got to choose one.
Starting point is 00:29:44 Pick one. Which one? Did he go in as a Cubs or a brave? I'm not sure. I think I want to say Brave. Yeah. I mean, he had his most, but he won the Cy Young with the Cubs. He did.
Starting point is 00:29:54 But he went to World Series with the Braves. I always liked. to play the game, even though I'm a Reds fan now. The game of Name Old Braves. Now, I'm talking before the 90s, Shannon. So I'm talking 80s. Oh, God. Let's you and I play this game.
Starting point is 00:30:06 I'm not good on 80s. It's going to be all you, my friend. All right, well, then I'll go to the ones I can remember. You got Dale Murphy, Bob Horner. You got Glenn Old Mother Hubbard. Oh, yeah. You got Ken Obergefell. Yes.
Starting point is 00:30:19 You've got Claudele, Washington. You've got Rick Mailer. You've got Paul Zovella. Ozzie Virgil Good one Zane Smith Yeah Yeah
Starting point is 00:30:33 You haven't named my favorite yet Bob Horner I said Bob Horner Oh you said Bob I was waiting for it Those are the easy ones You're casual if you're getting I'm getting into the like deep ones The left filter
Starting point is 00:30:46 92 is my year I could give you the line up from 90s though it gets too easy Because they were in the world I'm talking about when they were losing 100 games every year That's the teams I'm The 90s of course it's easy
Starting point is 00:30:57 You get Chipper, Maddox, Gav, and Smoltz, you got Terry Pendleton, David Justice, Otis Nixon, Dion Sanders, Lempkeet, that's Blouser. You know, was Negrow was Neckro the 80s or before that? Necro is an 80s guy. He was an 80s guy. That's a good call. Charlie Lee Brandt. Charlie LeBrand.
Starting point is 00:31:17 Oh, Mark Wollers is the closer. Jeff Reardon. Yeah. Jeff Reardon's more of an 80s guy, though, isn't he? No, he's on those 90s teams. Oh, what was the name of the dude he would throw? at Bruce Suter. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:30 Barber. Gene Barber. Gene Barber. By the way, I know most people, you are just sane old people's names. But when I was a kid, I watched all of those games. Because it was, again, you were right, it was the only sports on back then.
Starting point is 00:31:44 It was either that or Monster Truck on ESPN, and so that's what you watched. It was the Braves and the Podres. You sat and watched it because they were the only game on. Steve Avery was my favorite. Greg Maddox did play for the Cubs for two Cs. seasons after the Braves. Boy, I had no memory of that.
Starting point is 00:32:00 I have no memory of that whatsoever. Christian Wilkins, the defensive tackle for the Raiders, was kicked, was a pro bowler, was dismissed from the team for kissing his teammate on the forehead in a playful manner. According to the story, he was somebody, they were talking about something, and he made a joke, it was like, you poor baby, and he kissed him on the forehead. and then the player complained and he was dismissed from the team. Now, apparently he'd had other stuff, not stuff like this, but he'd had other things that he had done that some of his teammates maybe really didn't
Starting point is 00:32:40 particularly like him. But what do you think about getting dismissed from the team for a forehead kiss? They owed him $35 million. My takeaway is I don't believe that for one second. What do you really do? That's what they're telling us. You don't get kicked off the team for kissing something else. No, he did something else.
Starting point is 00:33:00 If you think that's the worst thing that happens in an NFL locker room, you are sadly mistaken. He did something much worse. Well, then why would they say this as the thing? To not have the locker room stuff out. See you later. We'll say it was a kiss. Everybody get our story together. Have you ever kissed someone on the forehead?
Starting point is 00:33:16 Yeah. I kiss Booney in the lips of the St. Louis C.C tournament pregame show. I don't know if you want to just throw that out there. I remember that. I mean, he may be listening to. I don't know if he wanted. People on Twitter have other versions that I won't repeat, but there was a lot more physical contact than kissing on the forehead.
Starting point is 00:33:33 Has to be. Oh, there's other versions? I think he has a history of locker room playing around. So this is what they're using is an excuse. But okay. So this, this goes to a couple of things that I,
Starting point is 00:33:47 I've never understood. Why in sports are we like, is it normal to hit your teammate on? the butt. Like, why is that a thing? Like, in nowhere else in life, could you go, nice job, Shannon, and I just smack you right on the butt. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:34:06 But in sports, acceptable. That's the culture. No, acceptable. It's always been done. Uh-huh. Yeah. And I've always found that really strange. I have.
Starting point is 00:34:16 I'm not, even when I was a kid, it's like, that's a really weird thing to do. Yeah. Why do we, where did that come from? I don't know. I don't know. We've been a part of our sports growing up our whole lives. Coach, like, get out there, go get them, bud. And oftentimes, I don't know if this is true anymore, but at least for years,
Starting point is 00:34:32 the stereotype would be that players that play sports are often, like, fairly homophobic. Yeah. And yet they do that, or kiss people in the head. Yeah. Like, that's something that happens a lot. If you want to get really creepy when guy coaches good into female athletes. Well, yeah, but if they do that, they're getting dismissed. Now they are, but back in the day, it used to happen all the time.
Starting point is 00:34:54 kiss female athletes. No, pat him on the belly. Go get them. As they break the huddle. That should have never been. Absolutely right. It should never have happened. But I would argue you probably shouldn't allow it ever.
Starting point is 00:35:03 Like, it's weird. It's very weird. But it was always a part of sports culture that you would just hit your guy on the butt. Like, that happens. And I just, it's always been strange. Even when I was a kid, I thought that was weird. Yeah. And I've never understood why that was something that happened.
Starting point is 00:35:18 Did it start? Like, like you kind of, like an animal, like a horse. You go up and just smack it and get it to run. Is it kind of like a? I'm serious, though. Like, you do smack a horse in the ass. Really? You think so?
Starting point is 00:35:28 I mean, I don't know that. But usually it would be like a crew, congratulations. Like, you did something good. Yeah. But what do you want a horse to do when you want it to run? You smack it in the butt. Maybe that's just kind of how it derive. But it is crazy to me to think that we, when I was a kid, it was completely acceptable
Starting point is 00:35:44 for adults to hit kids in the butt. Yeah. A, for punishment, but also for pleasure. For pleasure. When I was a kid, when I was a kid, you just did like people just hit kids in the butt for whatever and that's crazy now now now that you've been in sports if you are just sent them out on the field you could just raise your hand a few inches and get the back and say go get them yeah so when i saw this when i saw this
Starting point is 00:36:08 and you may i'm sure you're right that there's more stuff too yeah i'm sure you're right but it was a sense of man this has changed a lot because this was like one of their best players yeah that's why there has to be more to the story than a kiss on the forehead i don't believe that for a second. Yeah. Search his name. Alex. You can tell me in the break.
Starting point is 00:36:28 I'm not putting it out there, but it's out there. Hey, first time, long time. Who are? What's up? Just driving through construction on 75. I'm going to that. Well, there you go. Yes.
Starting point is 00:36:44 Hey, this one, since we were talking about the offensive line and stuff, do you think by I can't remember them announcing like an assistant offensive line coach. Do you think that they're, you know, they're not trying to say a lot, but emphasizing to the fans that, hey, we're working on the offensive line. I mean, I think he's apparently he's been there for a while. I appreciate the call. It's just at some point they have to tell you as a public university who is on staff. and I guess for whatever reason they just announced it a day or two ago, probably because the media would have all shown up Friday,
Starting point is 00:37:25 seen his name on the list and said, who is that guy? That's just my guess. I wouldn't read much into it besides that. And sometimes, I mean, they'll give a raise and we only find out about it because a reporter, you know, gets wind of it and looks into it. They don't always put it out there voluntarily.
Starting point is 00:37:39 Have they said if Mitch is talking yet? He's scheduled Friday. I don't know if he's scheduled to talk at like noon? No, 930. So before we go in there, yeah. So I'm going to have to go in there and ask questions before we start. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:53 Because I think Mitch has the most questions for me. He does. I think the questions about RevShare, I think the questions about whether or not all this stuff by going to the private thing, whether or not they're going to release information. I think that stuff's important. And it needs to be asked. And like,
Starting point is 00:38:08 he needs to answer it. I mean, people, you know, a couple times when I've brought this up about what, are they going to spend on what. People are like, you know, Matt, you could, Let them make the decision. You should never have the position that a government entity or a public entity should not release information. Unless there's like a national security reason, which I don't believe Kentucky football is involved in national security.
Starting point is 00:38:31 I don't think so either. I mean, like people should know what their public university is doing. And I think Mitch needs to say it. And if the other schools don't, well, then they're reporters that those schools should ask. But we should know. And I think people should ask Mitch. And if I'm able to go, I'll ask it. Unfortunately, it's at 10. I was 30 minutes off.
Starting point is 00:38:49 Of course, I can do it while we're on the air so that we can't ask the questions. Maybe I'll send you Ryan to go ask during the first segment. Do you even know what to ask? Let's play this game. Shannon, you're going to be Mitch Barnhart. Ask Mitch Barnhart the question that I want you to ask. Mr. Barnhart, Ryan Lemon can take sports radio. Yeah, I'll be Mr. Barnhart.
Starting point is 00:39:09 Ryan and Lemon can take sports radio. There's been a lot of speculation about the Rev Share, how it'll be split along your football and basketball. Can you kind of explain to all of us what exactly your plan? is for it. Anybody else have a question? Next question, please. That's not going to get your answer.
Starting point is 00:39:22 I think you want to say, you guys have now gone, are you going to, are you going to tell the public how much of the $20.6 million is going to be released for each sport? That's a yes or no question.
Starting point is 00:39:35 It's a yes or no question. You ask questions to where they cannot avoid the answer. So I ask a question, he has to give me how he's going to split it up. No, he'll just go, it's going to be very flexible. You just say. I ask him, he tells us, just,
Starting point is 00:39:47 to describe you as a split. Well, describe it could be it's going to be flexible. Yes or no? Yeah, you ask you answer to no question. Your question's bad. My question's good. No, no. You ask Matt's, then follow up with you.
Starting point is 00:40:00 Yes, exactly. You say two questions, Mitch. Number one, are you going to release the public each year, the amount of money given to each sport? Yes. Then can you tell us for this? John Wong? You're next.
Starting point is 00:40:11 John Wong follows and says, I've got Wong's whisperings. Wining's. long's whining. Someone there will ask. Okay. It can't be us because we'll be on the radio, but somebody will have. He has to know that question's coming. But he also, people can't let him avoid it by saying things like it's going to be flexible.
Starting point is 00:40:29 How much, are we going to know at the end of each year how much money went to each board? Yes or no. Yes. I hope the answer is yes, but we don't know it's yes. He won't say yes or no. He'll say something else. Well, then I, that's where you scoop, follow up and say this is a yes or no question, sir. Check else or no.

The music, sorry, podcast people won't get to hear it. He'll put it out on Twitter probably. Bruce Benedict, Bruce Eggs Benedict. Pasquell Perez.
Starting point is 00:45:39 Yeah. Right? There's a good one. Chamblis. Yeah, Chris Shamblis. We didn't mention Javier is one of the later ones. That's right.
Starting point is 00:45:48 Sid Bream, of course, scored that big famous Francisco Cabrera, who hit... He's the one that got the hit. That's right, coming off the bench. Rick Camp. That was the guy who hit a home run
Starting point is 00:46:01 in that 20- inning game against the Mets. It's exactly right. The one thing I know about him. Yeah, that's the only thing I think anybody knows about him. So there you go. Steve Bedrock
Starting point is 00:46:11 Badrosian. Yeah, that's another good one. All these old Braes. I saw a tweet. I didn't think we'd say today. Yeah, I saw a tweet once of a woman going, you can put men in a room and they'll just sit and say old players' names.
Starting point is 00:46:24 And that's exactly right. We can do it with UK. As a matter of fact, before I go, the phones, most obscure UK player of your lifetime, who was on the roster for at least one game. And you can't pick a walk on. So like, scholarship player.
Starting point is 00:46:40 A scholarship player. of your lifetime scholarship UK basketball player. I have the definitive answer, but I'm not going to give it. I want to hear what you all think. Who's the most obscure? What's the one? Was it Nate Young? Oh, see, you were going to say mine.
Starting point is 00:46:57 That's mine. Nate Knight. Nate Knight. Nate Knight. That was going to be my pick. Yeah. Because he was only here for like seven games. Yep.
Starting point is 00:47:03 Yep. Nate Knight. And he was a scholarship player too. Yes. You read my mind. That was going to be mine. What about I always go back to the guys that were here, Patino's first year.
Starting point is 00:47:14 Oh, yeah. Michael Parks. I don't even remember that guy. I don't even remember Michael Parks. Michael Parks. Do you remember the other guys that were on that team? Jason Lathrim? Jason Lathrim. Nice. Although I think he was on one of the later teams. But that's a good call. That's a random one as well. Jason Latham. There was one guy with Michael Parks.
Starting point is 00:47:35 His name was like Todd Parker or something. Man, I don't know. What about Billy? guys. And if I give you the walk-ons, too, who would you say? Matt Scherbensky. Matt Strubenskin. Buddy Delf is a great.
Starting point is 00:47:51 No, Adam Delft. Adam Delft. Buddy. Hassel? I think Heisle. Hasel? Something like that. He was like George's friend.
Starting point is 00:48:00 He was George's Jukot teammate or something. Yeah, that's right. What was the guy, Antoine Walker's cousin? Oh, uh, Jarvis. Jarvis Walker. Uh-huh. Because there's like five Jarvis walkers that, I think it was a UK football Jarvis Walker.
Starting point is 00:48:12 Yes. Jarvis Walker is a good one. Who else? Calera, Eric, Sasha Kalaya Jones, I think would be my answer. He's easy to forget. The player that is the best that people forget went here is Isaiah Jackson. Yeah. I mean, it was a first round pick and his name never gets brought up.
Starting point is 00:48:33 While you were gone, we did a draft of forgotten players, and he was number one overall by me. He has completely forgotten. That's right. I mean, he's completely forgotten, and he was a first round pick. people have completely forgotten he existed. Who was getting good minutes with the pastures until he got hurt this year. Jason Leithrom is a great girl. Donald Williams.
Starting point is 00:48:51 Donald Williams. Also, I think he was on scholarship, actually, for a year. Or a mistransferred, if I'm not mistaken. Oliver Simmons. Ian Jackson. Pick number one. Pick number one. Further proving the All Forgotten team.
Starting point is 00:49:04 What about during the Sutton era? It's a little before me. Todd Ziegler. Todd Ziegler. Siegler's a good call. Yeah. So, anyway, I saw Todd Ziegler at the soccer game. He had Oway were the, like, presenting UK people.
Starting point is 00:49:21 Yeah, he's like a big wig in the Republic Bank. Remember they had O.A. and Todd Ziegler? I think he's a VP at a bank or something. Republican up in the bank, yeah. All right. Lucky is in Campbellsville. Go ahead, Lucky. Yeah, thanks to take my call, guys. Yeah, he kind of stole my thunder on some of them players.
Starting point is 00:49:38 I grew up in a skip carry age of Braves baseball. Yeah, Garen, Jeffrey and I. Brian. That is a pretty good skip period. That is a pretty good skip period. But go ahead. Harvey Lopez. You didn't need to try to beat it.
Starting point is 00:49:55 Rob. My question is on the revenue sharing, be it at a state university, don't they have to divulge that information where the money's being spent? See, I would argue they do, but then they created this private entity.
Starting point is 00:50:12 And I, part of me, one, I think part of the reason they did that was to be able to do business deals, but part of me wonders if the reason they're doing it is so they don't have to release it to the public. I don't know this because I don't know Kentucky public records law in depth, but I cannot believe they would allow the state to create a private entity so they didn't have to release the information. To me, that would have to be illegal. But I admit public records law is complicated and I don't know what the law is. So I don't know. But that's why I think you got to ask Mitch,
Starting point is 00:50:43 Are you all planning to release this information? Because to me, if the university is going to spend $20.6 million of money, that while it doesn't come from the taxpayer, it still is state money. And you are going to give that to athletes. I think you have to, at a minimum, say where the money's going. I think you have to, don't you? Can they file an Open Records Act? Well, they can, but will the state, the state, a judge will determine whether or not,
Starting point is 00:51:13 they have to give it. And I don't know what the answer will be because I don't know the open records law enough.
