There's some big breaking news.
Let's throw it out there.
Do I need the breaking news?
Yes, you do.
Running on.
UK and JMI have re-signed at a six-year extension to their media rights deal.
It will be 15 years, an estimated $465 million.
It's an amazing amount of money.
But you, JMI will take on new responsibilities.
I think this is the key takeaway.
I'm going to read.
This is from John Hale's article in the Herald leader.
under the terms of the agreement,
UK will get 80% of all revenue
from inventory and advertising opportunities.
That's probably normal.
JMI, this is the interesting part to me.
JMI will take over responsibility
for negotiating name, image, and likeness endorsement deals
for UK athletes,
taking over what previously was run by Club Blue.
There will be a new subscription service run by JMI
called BBN United.
Hmm.
Well, all right.
Yeah, I don't know.
I got to think about this
before I have strong opinions.
I have strong opinions.
You want them?
I mean, have you thought about them before you
every time I do a rapid reaction
in 10 degree weather on the sidewalk,
I think about it.
Yeah, well, go for it then.
No, honestly, with the collective thing, I do worry about having your collective affiliated with the school.
I'm not saying we need to cheat, but other schools, they get in the gray area with their collectives.
Yeah.
Until this all gets polished up, at least.
I think that, okay, so I don't know how to, I don't know how to explain this because I might have to kind of explain what it's been.
This is not what I thought I was going to do today.
We were going to have fun.
But let me give you the basics, okay?
And Drew knows this, so I'm going to talk to Drew, but he already knows this.
Let me explain to you how this was done for the last two years and then how it will change.
What would happen for two years in the last two years is if Mark Pope wanted Shannon the dude to play basketball.
Mark Pope would get Shannon the dude and Shannon the dude would commit to Mark Pope with an understanding that Shannon the dude would then have to reach another agreement with Club Blue.
for the amount of money.
And if Club Blue and Shannon the dude couldn't reach that amount of money,
Shannon the dude could go somewhere else.
But Club Blue played a key role.
I would argue it's the difference.
It was like in pro sports what a GM and a coach does, right?
A coach can want you to come,
but ultimately it's the GM to do the contract.
And Club Blue was the GM.
And I genuinely thought the person that worked for Club Blue
did an amazing job.
I think when this roster takes the floor next year,
Mark Pope should get round of applause number one,
but standing in the background is going to be a person
that nobody knows who they are except a handful of people
and they should get the second round of applause.
And they won't because nobody knows who they are
and they don't really want people to know.
But it's just true.
And that second person played a key role.
I got wind that this was coming a couple weeks ago
and I'll freely admit I'm worried about it.
I'm not going to,
I want to be very careful to not like,
freak out,
because we'll see,
and I want to give everybody a chance.
But now that role,
which was the role of Club Blue,
will now be JMI.
JMI is now going to be negotiating those deals.
By the way,
this is what all schools are now going,
they're going to have a role.
But what I think most schools are doing,
doing is they are hiring an individual who is good at playing that role our club blue guy is
to be that for for UK.
I wanted the club blue guy, Shannon, to have that role for UK.
I wanted UK to hire him.
Right.
He probably makes too much money, be honest with it.
He probably doesn't want to do it.
But that's what I wanted.
I wanted him to be our GM of sports because he's smart and I just knew he could do it.
JMI is now going to do it.
The question is, do you have confidence in JMI to be our GM?
We'll see.
I mean, I'm not going to say they can't.
But I've had to deal with JMI as much as anybody on earth, except the people at UK.
It's not been a great relationship, the vast majority of the time.
I want it to be a good relationship.
I have tried multiple times.
We have met multiple times.
love to meet again. I'd love to make stuff work.
JMI. First of all, this is a lot of money. U.K. is getting a lot of money here.
UK is going to be, if you're worried about U.K. having money, they're going to have the money.
They ain't going to be too many schools in the country that's going to get that amount of money.
I mean, what are we looking at? 10 years, 15 years, $465 million. What's the math on that?
$350, that's over $30 million a year.
All right.
You just paid for your rep share.
I mean, you just paid for your rev share right there.
But I have always thought JMI was like a step behind.
Now they better be a step forward.
Because they are now entering the business of they're doing everything for UK.
They're selling the ads.
They're negotiating the players.
Everything is now JMI.
When you're talking about UK athletics, it's now UK athletics and JMI.
JMI is now in the business.
They've always been in, but they are in the business of advertising like JMI.
If they're negotiating these deals, they're going to basically own the players' rights.
I worry.
I mean, this is, this is weeds.
stuff, but can we do weed stuff here for a second?
And then we'll talk about Tyrese Maxie and his can.
Let's say UK has an official car dealership deal with Matt's cars.
Matt's Cars is the only car dealership that can advertise with the UK.
Let's say they go get Shannon the Dude as a player.
Are they going to tell Shannon the dude the only NIL deals you can sign her with Matt's cars
in the past they weren't able to do that because the collective was outside of the school.
But now if they do it and Shannon has Bob's cars over here saying,
I'll give you $2 million.
And JMI and UK say no, then Shannon might go to Louisville.
So he keeps his freedom.
That's what I worry about here.
I worry that they're going to try to keep everything in house.
If you're not a JMI advertiser,
then players can't do advertising for you.
And we streamline everything through that and then we lose players.
That's what I worry about.
And it's what I worried about when I first heard of this arrangement a couple weeks ago.
It's still what I worry about because, you know, these players, we got to get players, right?
And if we make it to where these players can't cut a deal with another partner,
will that hurt us?
I don't know.
So, you know, for better or worse, rich or poor, till death do us part, UK athletics and JMI are married.
Now, not just in who puts these radio games on, who puts the big blue madness on.
They are now partnered on getting players.
I don't know if JMI has any experience getting players.
The guy that used to do it does professional athlete contracts.
He knew.
how to get player.
Do these people?
I guess we'll find out.
So I'm glad UK's getting that money.
But if you want to say Matt Jones is nervous about something for the future of UK sports,
this is the thing to be worried about.
Mark Pope, as good as Mark Pope is, at the end of the day,
if the money and the negotiation is not there, it's not going to matter.
Right?
If Shohei Otani loves Terry Francona,
if the Reds don't pay him, he ain't coming.
Right?
Same thing here.
And do you agree with all that?
I do.
And it seems, unless I'm proven wrong, the rival schools aren't getting rid of their
outside collectives.
So as you're saying, you're worried about, you know, them kind of monopolizing what, you know,
local businesses they can use.
The Tennessee's the world, we know how messy they get.
I'm not saying you need to go out and cheat with collectives, but I do think there
needs to be an outside option where they can, you know, have more, more.
or deals they can sign and all that, not be limited to what JMI wants them to do.
I don't know that any other school is keeping all their, at least the ones on our radar,
that is keeping all their NIL with their media rights like UK is now.
I think you need the outsiders.
Yeah, I don't know.
I mean, I don't know.
Now, could it work?
I'm not going to say it can't.
Maybe, you know, maybe I'm wrong.
but I have personally tried over the years to come up with new creative arrangements to help a lot of things that would have been beneficial to us.
I'm not going to act like they wouldn't, but also would have been beneficial to UK, UK student athletes,
and I have always found it difficult.
And I hope it works out.
this roster in basketball this year was people don't understand what a jigsaw puzzle it is right and this is how it's going to be every year going forward and you better have somebody who's good at jigsaws right or good at rubic skew or whatever analogy you want to use because this is complicated stuff and
you know.
All right.
I'm learning this on the air.
Let me just give you another example.
And this is a little thing.
But here are the examples of how you've got to be forward thinking.
And I'll make this message directly to UK and to the folks now, JMI.
We're learning this live on the air.
A proactive media response would have been Shannon to give us this.
tent the night before.
Talk us through what's happening so that we're not learning live on the air and reacting.
By the way, that's what they used to do.
They used to tell me the night before and go, okay, you can't put this out, but I want you to
understand what's happening so that when you talk about it on the air, you're informed,
right?
And if you understand it.
They don't think like that.
They used to do that with all the media.
They would sit there and say, okay, media, here's the announcement.
tomorrow. Do you have questions? We'll answer them. That way, when you tell the people the
information, you've got it. They don't think like that anymore. So everything I said to you
is my natural reaction. Could it be wrong? I guess it could. I don't think it is, but I guess it
could, but I learned it as you did. They said their hand is in everything now. So we're
almost UK slash JMI fans. Do we start chanting JMI at games?
Here's like, J.MI, they are the UK sports or overlords now.
And let me ask you a question.
Who we, I mean, I do.
But do fans even know who they are?
No.
So when Mitch Barnhart made the decision to create this champions blue and all this,
we're taking our public UK sports.
And they are now, for the most part, outside of Mitch,
going to be run by people that the general fan doesn't know.
And we're going to get the results of their decisions,
and we're not going to know who they are.
So, you know, I hope it works.
I'm not negative about it,
but I'm also like what we were doing with,
well, I've already forgotten the name of it.
I do ads on. Champions, Blue, yeah, Champions Blue, right?
Club Blue, excuse me.
That was kind of work.
It's pretty good, actually.
And I think they should have found a way to make that work.
Will this new thing work?
Hope it does.
Am I nervous?
Yeah.
I hope they don't take away the fun stuff.
You know, Club Blue has a bourbon, the beer.
I mean...
Well, they just said they're taking it over, and that's in the press release.
Yeah, but I mean, some of the stuff, Club Blue is really doing a good job.
I agree.
Club Blue is in two years done an amazing job.
Is it going to be JMI beer now?
Is that what I'm going to put that on the label?
JMI beer.
Yeah.
It's a good thing you got that chick, club blue.
That's going to be bourbon.
If you got that club blue bourbon, it's going to be a rare thing.
The price just went up on it.
That's exactly right.
Cornbreadhip.com.

The question is, how do you conquer them?
them. On Hurtle with Emily Abadi, we sit down with the most inspiring women in sports and wellness,
professional athletes, coaches, and Olympic champions to talk about the challenges that shaped them
and the mindset that keeps them going. From the WNBA standout Kate Martin and rising hockey star,
Layla Edwards. If a boy can do it, I don't see why a girl can't. Like, I've never understood
that. Like, it didn't make sense in my brain. It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you,
but don't ever feel like you don't belong. Don't let that be the reason you don't do it.
An Olympic champs Gabby Thomas and Katie Ladecki.
The ability to show a gold medal to someone and have their face light up and smile, that means the world to me.
And that's what motivates me to win more gold medals.

I can do anything.
Because resilience isn't just about winning.
It's about showing up, even when it's hard.

859-280-2-8027.
All right, this is a fair question of the text machine.
772-774-5-254.
One person writes, Matt, you just explain your worries.
Can you give us the upside of the J-M-A deal?
Great question and fair, because, you know, you don't just want to say negative.
All right, here's the upside.
The upside is it's a lot of money.
I would think, I don't know that, I would think 30 plus million dollars in guaranteed money a year for a media deal is up there for a local media deal is up there for UK amongst the highest teams in the country.
I mean, I don't know offhand that anybody makes more than that from their local media deal.
However, JMI has the ability to do stuff that other schools don't do.
Like, for instance, if you walk on campus, if you see an ad anywhere on campus for anything, I'm not just talking sports.
see an ad in the student center.
Like, JMI is the one that decides, like, what restaurants can be in the student center.
Like, they run everything now at UK.
So, but that's a lot of money.
So the upside one is probably a substantial, substantial amount of money.
Number two is if done effectively, having all this in one place might be a positive.
If you can pitch to, you know, I'm just going to pick a local business.
UPS, you get Mark Pope and the players.
You could see how UPS might pay a premium for that, right?
So it could be effective if you do it well.
Another positive is, you know, I mean, those are the positive.
So, I mean, there are, you know, there are, if it's done well, I could see it work.
I am nervous about it.
You know, that's just me.
And I would say to you,
you know, I think this will see.
We'll see.
I'm, like I said,
I'd heard this was potentially down the pike.
And I thought,
and now we are.
So hopefully,
here's also the JMI.
Look, I'd love to,
I'd love to chat with you.
I'd love to have one of them on here and talk.
about the details because I do think when you have something like this you need to let the fans know.
Like Mitch did a really good job when he was on here the other day talking about our position about
all that and even where I disagreed with him. I thought he explained it pretty well.
Probably the case that that needs to happen either through Mitch or with the JMI people now again.
Yeah, because sometimes there's issues, not even this or not even big ones where we're coming on it.
They're like, we got this wrong. It's like, well, you haven't told anyone anything.
So we're just putting pieces together. Yeah. And I'm sure somebody will call me today and
say you got this or that wrong. Fair enough. I'll come on here tomorrow and give the other side.
This is just my initial reaction right now. Josh, go ahead, Josh. Josh. All right, let's go to Dave and
Louisville. Dave. How are you a fellow doing today? Doing good. Good, good. I got a couple
things here. I got a buddy of mine. He's the biggest Louisville homer that you can ever imagine.
Anyway, he went to Mark Stoops' camp here, I think,
a couple weekends ago, and his daughter is a special need kid,
and he was telling me that Mark Stoops, when his staff was the nicest person ever,
he said he couldn't ask for a better person.
He said Stoops took time with him kids.
He couldn't believe it.
He said he told Stoops, he said, I'll be rooting for you every game except for the one against Louisville.
And I thought that was very funny.
That's awesome.
And it doesn't surprise me, though.
That doesn't surprise me.
This coaching staff and the football team throughout the last however many years has been great with all kids,
but I have specifically seen with special needs kids the way they make it, you know, a priority.
When it comes to the way people, whether they are special needs, veterans, children, senior citizens,
I have always thought the football staff has done an amazing job.
And Mark Pope does an amazing job too.
So I'm glad to hear that, but it doesn't surprise me.
Go ahead.
Yes, and one more thing.
My sister-in-law, she's a big beer ripper.
I'm not going to say who it is.
But anyway, she brought me this shirt at that because I'm going to my cancer thing.
I think I told you that it is.
Anyway, the shirt says cancer sucks and so does the Cardinals.
And it's in blue and I just love it.
I mean, the shirt is awesome.
I love it, too.
It comes from Shirley's way.
And I implore people to buy the shirt because I mean, every time I'm wearing,
it makes me cry, I wear it to my cancer stuff.
It's just pretty cool.
So while you're getting your treatment, you're still L's down.
I like it.
Thank you, sir.
I appreciate the call.
Absolutely.
There you go ahead, peanut.
How are you guys doing?
How are you guys doing?
Doing good.
Peanut, this is not, you can't just like stretch out like this.
So we got to go when it's your turn.
I understand.
I'm crippled here.
I was trying to get up there.
Anyway, that's, that tire.
Terry Smacky thing is crazy.
Why don't he's a millionaire?
Why don't he have an electric can't open it?
Well, he might not know how to run that easy.
I don't think that's...
I mean, so peanut, here's the thing.
I know it's...
Look, so people don't know.
Tyreys Max got on a live Instagram
and asked people how to work a can opener.
And everybody's making fun of it.
Peanut between me and you.
It took me a while to learn it.
I figured it out,
but I remember the first time.
By the way, it wasn't that long ago.
Like two weeks ago?
I kind of was like, where do I attach it and turn?
I finally figured it out and I didn't get help.
Because I was like, you peanut, I always had an electric one.
And if you've never operated a hand one and you don't know how,
like I could see how it might be confusing.
Yeah, I mean,
it looks like he had a pretty decent one,
but he just didn't even know how to connect it.
But you do have to have a good one.
Some of them are terrible.
Yeah, some of them are terrible.
Peanut, where do you live in Florida again, by the way?
I live about 30 minutes west of Orlando.
That's right.
All right.
Well, I hope to see you again soon.
And thank you for calling, all right?
Yes, sir.
Appreciate it.
It was, what did you think of the video, Shannon?
I had a good laugh, but not everybody grows up learning how to do what I would call a simple thing.
I would argue a manual can opener is not a simple thing.
It is very simple.
He was turning it vertically.
How in the world do you think logically if you turn the thing vertically, it's going to connect to that can and you're going to open it?
And he was turning the can upside down.
It's the same on both sides.
It doesn't matter which side of the can you really open.
Tyrese, I've been there.
I ultimately got it.
But I will agree with you.
If you've never been in the can opening business,
it can be difficult.
So I feel you, Tyrese.
I thought it was a wholesome video.
I did too.
And he was asking for his fans.
More people need to admit they don't know things.
Exactly.
Right, Jimmy?
Be right back.
T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney.
Call T.J., he'll make them pay.
Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio,
presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back, Tegi Sports Radio.
People are taking up for Tyrese Max.
One person says, Matt, that was a pampered chef can opener.
They're different.
They're on the top of the can, not the side.
Shannon might not know how to use that at all.
A pampered can.
I guess it's like a brand.
Pampered chef.
Sorry.
No.
I don't know.
I've never had a can I couldn't get into.
Sounds like maybe if you had done a video like Tyrese maxi, you would have had the same issue.
There's the thing, though. I would not have gone live on Instagram.
I would have gone to YouTube and figured it out.
I actually like that. I think that's kind of humbling.
It's like, I don't know everything, you know?
Yeah, but I don't need to tell everybody.
Too many people are getting embarrassed over stuff.
You don't know how it works.
You don't know how it can't overwork.
What if I done on this show?
You don't know how something works.
It's fine.
Just say it.
Like, it makes it to where I say all the time.
Like, I don't know how to change a tire.
I don't really know how to swim.

one person writes
Matt you sounded
bitter
talking about
JMI
it's not bitter
I'm just giving you my suggestion.
It really has nothing to do with me.
We're going to be fine either way, right?
Like there's always going to be, you know, it's like there's always going to be the need for an outside unofficial UK media source.
Because otherwise everything is just the, like, so I'm not worried about that.
I want UK to win.
Okay.
I want UK to win.
And so that's my only thing.
but we'll see what happens.
I'm eager to know more about it.
I think it would have been smart to let people have a heads up
because I am questioning about it.
One person writes,
Alan Cutler has already released his pre-show tweet
that says,
no filter monologue coming about Matt Jones and UK football.
Uh-oh.
More strays.
I'm not going to be able to listen to it.
You're going to tell me what it says.
I will.
Okay.
Try to run to my car.
Yeah.
Can't believe you care.
I care because I wonder how you can go 40 minutes and not have a commercial.
Nobody pays for your show.
I know, but it's still pretty impressive.
Commercial free.
Commercial free.
The big story is Taylor Swift is going on the Travis Kelsey podcast.
She's also releasing a new album, but, you know, while I know Swiftie's,
love that. I want to talk about the podcast thing for a minute.
What are the chances this is the most listened to podcast of all time?
That was my first thought.
You think it's probably true?
It's happening.
Shannon?
Most listened to a podcast of all time?
I don't know what the current most listened to podcast.
I would say it's Kat Williams and Shannon Sharper.
I would say this is going to shatter that, whatever that number is.
Yeah.
Because of all the Swifties.
That's a fan base you do not mess with.
And I'm going to listen to it.
And I don't listen to her or I just, it's like,
It's going to be like a cultural.
Let me ask you a question.
If they put that on television live, 8 o'clock in prime time,
don't you think that would get insane ratings?
Just put them on television talking to art.
Don't you think, Shannon, that would be insane ratings?
Yep.
I can't say I would watch it, but I'm sure there's millions of people who would.
I mean, it'll be the most listened to podcast of all time.
It's going to shatter whatever the YouTube.
I think it is Cam Williams and Shaden.
Shaden Sharp.
Cam Williams.
Cam Williams and Shade and Sharp.
That's a good podcast.
So it is Shaden Sharp
with our player this year,
Cam Williams?
You think that's the most?
They can do like a copycat.
Cam Williams telling you everything is getting
exposed in 2025.
Cam Williams and Shaden Sharp.
To my knowledge, she doesn't do anything like this.
So even her bigger fans don't get this personality
and the storytelling out of her that she's going to do.
Would you want to do a podcast with your girlfriend,
Shannon?
No.
Would you?
Well, I don't have...
I mean, you're a theoretical girlfriend in Austin.
Yeah, I don't know.
I know.
No.
I think that would be...
Now, granted, in his case,
in his case, she's a lot more famous than he is,
so it's a little different.
She's doing...
Not that they need it,
but this is a pretty big favor
to their podcast announcing her next album on there.
Because every Swifty in the Swifty Universe
is going to tune in for that.
or already has if it dropped this morning.
Do you think it'll be sweet to watch them be in love, Shannon?
Don't it, won't that warm your heart?
Oh, yeah, so warm.
So they're doing it live, like a live podcast?
I think they've already done it.
I think they're just releasing it tomorrow.
So if anybody said anything that they don't like,
they can just edit that out,
because that would be one thing if you're doing a podcast with your girlfriend,
she gets a little too personal.
The podcast, you could take that out.
You know, it's not live radio.
Maybe I would do a podcast, but not live radio,
because you don't know what they're going to say.
Are you worried your girlfriend would say something bad about you?
Well, I mean, just something that baby you don't.
Well, somebody that you spend all that time with is going to know more about you than anybody.
And there's maybe details that you don't want the world to know.
Be interesting.
I'm looking for, I actually want to see it.
Another person writes, Matt, Somerville over after last night.
Well, no, but it's, I'm worried we're going to go 0 and 6 this week.
Braves have got the Mets covered.
You better, because I'm worried we're going to go 0 and 6.
Braves have won five out of seven over the match.
Last night was our game to win.
I don't know if you saw it.
We were up 1-0.
Andrew Abbott's rolling.
Like he's like, strike,
strike, pop out.
You know, we're rolling.
Two outs, top of the 7th, 8 hitters up.
He gets two strikes immediately.
If he gets one more strike, he's probably gone.
We put our closer in the 9th.
We win the game.
Guy gets like a little flare hit.
then the ninth hitter is up.
I think you got to leave him in
against the ninth hitter, right?
It's the ninth hitter.
He said like 190
gets an in the gap double ties the game.
At that point you got to take him out
because the top of the lineups coming up.
I think it's Trey Turner
for Philadelphia. Is that a person?
Yep, he's pretty good.
You got to take him out.
They leave him.
Turner gets another hit.
Now we're down.
Then they take him out.
New guy comes in first.
pitch to run home run and games over.
But I contend
it should have been
all he needed was one more
strike. And so I was
pretty bummed out. I'm not going to lie to you
last night. That's a tough one. I don't think we're
done, but we
might lose every game during this
homestand. And then it's
probably over. Were they filling
the pressure of Snoop Dog about to set up his concert?
Or maybe people were leaving because Snoop Dog
was about to set up his concert. They were saying on the radio
there were people still getting there at like
sixth, seventh inning.
Which is really just saying, Shannon, we did not come here for the baseball.
We're here for the concert.
Yeah, I mean, when people are still coming in in the seventh inning, you're like,
did you all not care at all?
It's like the baseball game is the opener for Snoop.
It was.
The baseball game.
It's like, well, when does Snoop actually go on?
That's what I'm going to get there.
That's what I think happened.
So, I mean, that was a, it was a bummer.
I thought last night was the one for us to get, and we didn't.
So I hate the Mets.
So I'm rooting for you.
All right.
suck. Let's go to Adam. Go ahead, Adam.
Hey, Matt.
I hope you'll just let me go for a bit.
I used to work for Learfield, IMG,
which I know isn't JMI, but it's very similar.
As far as the meteor rights deals,
I always feared that this was going to happen.
And the reason why is
when everything's under UK,
I don't understand why these big schools like UK
won't bring the meteorites just in-house
and do it themselves. I know there's a huge
amount of money given to them, but the amount of money that they don't have to pay a media rights
partner would be recouped. And also, JMI represents other schools. So is JMI if they're going to
handle the collective, you know, and a player wants to go to Kentucky or they also represent UCLA? Like,
how is that going to work out? Things like that. Like, UK does not need to be splitting the student
athletes pot with a meteor rights, a partner.
Like, it should be going to the collective for the student.
I didn't even think about that point.
If you're recruiting against a school that is also a JMI school, how does that work?
Can they just drive it up for themselves and not have a care of where he actually goes?
They might be recruiting against themselves.
I'm sure that there's something in the provision that says,
they're quartered off.
But that's a really interesting question.
You know, Shannon, if I am down to two schools, UK, UCLA, I mean, yeah.
Then it's all one and the same.
So then you just set that aside.
Well, if you're JMI, you're like, we get them either way.
Right.
Or maybe one school's doing by the other and they want to throw a bone to the other one that's not Kentucky to level it out.
Oh, the media rights aren't going as well.
well at UCLA, maybe if they get the number one player in America, more people will want to buy
stuff for their basketball game, and UK basketball will be fine either way.
Yeah, we've already gotten Kentucky four guys. This fifth guy, why don't we send him somewhere else?
It's quite a twist. Yeah, I didn't even think about that. Yeah. Don't they have like Georgia and
Notre Dame and I know football we're probably not recruiting. There's no doubt.
He's a bowling and football.
Maybe we're the ones.
Maybe we'll be the ones.
Like, let's give them something.

UK volleyball
It's not something we talk about a ton on this show.
They announced, so somebody put out all the money that is spent by each school on volleyball.
Where would you think Kentucky is nationwide in amount of money spent on volleyball compared to other schools?
Remember, we won a national championship a few years ago.
Yeah.
Yeah, it seemed to win the SEC every year.
So how, in terms of spending money on volleyball, where do you think UK ranks nationally?
Top 10.
Yeah, I was going to say top 10 as well.
I would agree.
Skinner gets a great place.
11th.
Okay.
11th.
Louisville is 13th.
That's another team that's competed for national championships.
Nebraska is first by quite a bit.
No, it's huge there.
And then Wisconsin's like second.
Those are the two schools, I think, where it's the biggest.
But Kentucky, you guys said top 10,
I was a little surprised just because I didn't realize we were doing that.
I mean, I know we won a national championship,
but I know we're really good.
There are people who know UK volleyball that tell me,
this team is one of Skinner's best.
Might be his second best next to the national championship team a few years ago.
Yeah, I don't know much about their budget or what they spend,
but just knowing where their stars have come from in big volleyball areas,
I assume they're having to do pretty well.
Like Madison Lilly a few years ago, she came from Kansas, I believe,
but she's in a hotbed of volleyball there to get her to come here,
you know, taking people from Texas.
It seems they get a lot of players from all over that are really talented.
Yeah, I mean, I think they play their first something this weekend.
I don't know if it's like their version of Midnight Madness or whatever it is,
but they have something this weekend.
So it's their fan day.
It's their fan day.
When is it?
Because I think one of the things I've heard is that the girls on the women's volleyball team
are like the best with little kids that they're on.
It's Saturday.
Yeah, this Saturday at 11.
Yeah.
This Saturday at 11.
I've been to Skinner's camp as a spectator with some family friend that was there and just seeing it.
I mean, I don't know much about volleyball or how fun a girls camp should be,
but you could tell it was a lot of fun for them and how good they were with the kids too.
So, I mean, there's no doubt Skinner's got it running on all cylinders over there.
By the way, the KS Bar dinner, we sold out by before the, like right as the show ended.
So thank you to all the people that are coming.
That should be fun.
we open August 26th, we still have some spots for hiring, especially if you're someone that,
you know, can use can openers and would like to work as a cook, but we also need a couple more
servers, but that training starts. They asked me, Shannon, to write a, um, so, you know,
we got some advice on restaurant stuff from a couple of very successful restaurant owners
here in Lexington. One of their advice is, advices. Part of their advice,
was when people come in,
have the server
if they've never been
tell a quick story
about the restaurant.
Like what is this?
I like that.
So I'm supposed to write that.
It only be like eight or ten seconds.
So I'm writing,
what is the story of KS Bar?
Ten seconds?
That's going to be a quick story.
Well,
you got things here.
I mean,
they're not sitting there
for a nighttime chat.
They want to,
you know,
they're not over tables.
They're one to eat food.
This is KS Bar,
Kentucky Sports Bar.
Welcome.
Yeah, but like you want to say, hey, this is the new renovation.
Look over there.
Look at that, like point out to people, things that have changed.
You know, Shannon.
Yeah, of course, yeah.
Yeah, I was a great server at Outback Steakhouse.
That's what I was.
Look at the blooming onion.
You served it out back?
I did.
And you served at both places I've served, we called it the spill.
You had to do it.
You had to have your intro.
And sometimes a secret shopper, if you didn't do your intro, get a note.
And then the manager would be like, hey, hurry you had a table where you don't
a place have you ever been here before?
If the answer is yes, they don't tell you the store.
I want to be a secret shopper.
You welcome them back.
If it's their first time, you explain everything.
Like at Tony Roma's, if it was their first time, it was
mandatory. I had to tell them the three different
types of ribs. And if I didn't do it, I would hear
about it because they would find out. So that's what we're going to do.
We're going to tell them and then be like, these are the couple
new menu items. Here we go.
You know, this is the Randall Cobb salad.
Don't steal our draft king's helmets.
Yeah, exactly.
Go ahead, Seth.
Hey, how you doing, guys?
Doing good.
All right.
Is Drew there?
Hey.
Hey, it's Seth Bassett, Madisonville.
Hello, Seth.
Good to hear from you.
Yes, sir.
I had a little story about me and your dad.
I'll probably call back Wednesday.
We did a little mission work up in being in prison.
I'll call back Wednesday, guys.
Alfred Collins was up the road.
I mean, if you can tell the story quickly,
now's a better time.
Eight to ten seconds.
Okay, we went to being in a prison.
We started as a great banquet.
Drew can tell you more about that.
It's like Chris Lewis up in room.
And we came to in a prison.
And I'm going to call his dad Franco.
Okay.
All right.
Well, I appreciate it.
Thank you.
Your dad worked in a prison?
Yeah, I went through the church, my dad, my uncle.
Seth.
A lot of guys, they would do mission work,
including going to a prison.
I mean this.
I think people who take the time to work in prisons.
Like to me,
that is the heart of religion.
Like never giving up on people,
the people who go,
because, you know,
I mean,
I think anybody who volunteers a time on anything is wonderful.
But there's no,
like,
glory in working in prisons.
Some people don't like it.
Like some people think that that's,
you know,
why would you reward this?
them with whatever. People who do that, I think that's a wonderful thing to do. And kudos to your
dad for doing it. And my uncle Tim, I think he's done it quite a bit. It's a big thing they do
