Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue 42.
A rep, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Where's she at?
Hey, Miss Parker.
Listen to the Cliverts show on the IHeart Radio app,

The story I've told myself can then shape my behavior,
and that can lead me to sabotage the possibility of connection.

Now here's Matt Jones. Welcome back. Hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio, 859-280-2287.
Text machine, 772-7745254 here at KS Bar, where the wings are starting to flow.
We got new staff training and getting everything ready.
Saturday we open at 9 for breakfast should be fun.
Our pregame show Saturday starts at 8.30 a.m.,
but the doors here don't open until 9, but it starts at 8.30 a.m.
For people who are being asking me, yes, the buses will be going to the game from here,
which is probably the easiest way to get to the game.
It's just, I think, is it a dollar?
Is that what the ride is?
It's a dollar.
It's a dollar there and a dollar back and you can park.
I mean, the reason it's the best deal is you can park here for free and it's a dollar.
Although I will say, we do, like the businesses here do require you to patron the business.
So you can't just like drop your car off and leave or you will be taken to alligator alcatraz.
So just so people know.
Yeah.
And the same bus that takes to the stadium will take you to alligator out.
Yeah, it's a tough drive, to be honest with you.
859-280-2287.
We got some folks on, but a couple things before we do, Ryan.
Number one.
Summer Valley officially ended last night.
Sad about it.
It was a good run.
I have to tell you, got almost to my birthday, which I think is much better than I would have thought.
It's ended just because they can't hit.
basically it ends on the West Coast
losing two or three in Arizona
and now chance to get swept
here tonight in L.A.
But the bigger thing is the Mets have kind of found their groove
and we can't really hit consistently.
We're a player short.
Pitchers are getting hurt.
It was a fun ride, though.
I enjoyed this team quite a bit
and then I'm really excited for next year.
I think they can go get one player during the offseason
I think they got a chance to be really good.
I got to admit, you hung in there longer
than when Shannon and I both thought you were going to.
thought maybe by mid-May you'd already tap out like I'm out summer valley's over i can tell you the
moment i tapped out was when that when marty bunted last night that was that was it you're down two
to one third inning first and second nobody out you know you know that dodgers is going to score more
you're in their home you got you got you got marty followed by ellie like you got to you got to go for it
he bunts it pops it up turns into a double play and at that moment i said the summer valley
is unfortunately over but i did like i said
did really enjoy it.
And then they announced yesterday, next season, opening day is the Red Sox.
Oh, my.
Wow.
And if you think I'm not selling that ticket.
Opening Day is a big ticket anyway.
I mean, that's the only thing I don't like is normally the Red Sox are a good ticket in and of itself.
Yeah.
But opening day in the Red Sox, between me and you, I feel like I can get like a grand each for that ticket.
If I'm, I mean, I could probably pay for a good chunk of.
of my season tickets just with that game.
So there's no way.
I mean, I'll go. I'll sit up in the top, but
there's no way. I'm
not selling that one.
Is there any way you could talk yourself
back into the month left?
You're really out completely? No.
I mean, I may still watch. I may still watch
the game. Three and a half.
I may still watch the game, but they're done.
I can just, like, you know, sometimes
you can just tell, like,
we're done. It's okay,
but we're done. I'm still going to watch them,
They're fun.
I want to see they'll bring this Sal Stewart guy up this weekend.
He's kind of a future star, so I want to watch him.
But they're done.
It's sad to see the end of the run.
We followed this roller coaster since the spring.
It's been up and down every week, and now it's following the station.
When I looked at the calendar back in June, I kind of thought this was when it was going to end, this road trip.
It just kind of felt like, you know, because they got to go back out to the West Coast again in two weeks.
So it's over.
But it was, but I enjoyed the ride.
I did value it.
Yes.
And I gave you, I'm giving you my tickets for Sunday.
I appreciate you tapping out because I got to watch the Cardinals and Reds now on Sunday because you're tapping out.
I was going to give them to you anyway.
Well, I appreciate that, Daddy.
Oh, come on, no.
Stop.
That made me uncomfortable.
Ryan, what are you doing?
That felt weird.
You just, you can't do that.
Like, you can't, you can't do that.
Like, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not a positive.
Like, it's not, it doesn't make, I mean, literally.
every single listener out there, it ran up their spine when you said that negatively.
I scoot it over to get away.
Just naturally, I started moving.
First of all, it pleases no one.
It doesn't please the listener.
Certainly doesn't please me.
It's not.
No.
Yeah, I think it pleased one person.
It made me happy.
Maybe giggle.
No.
Stop.
Do you promise you're not going to do that again?
I promise.
I'm going to roll up a menu and bop them in the.
knows to let him know.
No, no, no, don't encourage him.
Stop.
Uncle Matt, okay?
I don't love that either, but I can deal with that.
All right.
Part of the problem, Ryan, is even normal words come out creepy when you say it.
So when you say something like that, it just comes out extra creepy.
Yeah.
So please.
Don't turn down the creepiness.
But I don't think you're going to be able to do that.
So just certain things just don't say.
Don't say it.
Just don't say.
Cracker barrel changed its logo back.
They did.
People don't seem to get,
my joke, I think, is good,
which is they're bringing back the barrel and the cracker,
but nobody seems to think that's as funny as I do.
But nevertheless, it's back.
It was only gone for a few days.
Here's what I'm going to say.
I think, Shannon, now that they're bringing it back,
you could argue the best publicity they could have ever asked.
Oh, of course, yeah.
Their stocks going back up.
Their stocks back up.
People are happy again.
Let me also say, people don't understand how stocks work when you say, well, they lost $150 million.
No, they didn't.
The value goes that, but nobody took that money from them.
It's how much people are paying for their stock.
You know, their stock is down 50% in the last five years.
Like, it used to be like 110, and now it's 57.
So they were already heading a pretty negative direction.
But now they've bounced right back up, and they had everybody talking about Cracker Barrel again.
and now there's going to be people who like boycotted it who now are going to go back
like Shannon I think it ended up being a masterful set of publicity whether they intended that or not
it ended up working out is the best publicity cracker barrel has ever gotten now they didn't say
they wouldn't change the inside of it which really is what got to me more so than the logo I
didn't care about the logo but don't change the inside of it they haven't committed to going back
to the way of that what they said was yeah but what they said was right they're only doing a
different inside on the new ones the old ones are going to stay the same
Okay, well, I got a different understanding of it than you do
Because I was told that they were going to go through and remodel all of them slowly, not all at once.
It would take a couple of years.
Okay, well, maybe I'm wrong about that.
Either way, in hindsight, Drew, I think it worked out for them really well.
Like, I think it got everybody talking about it.
It got people saying what they liked, what they didn't like, maybe what they needed to improve.
And so I think it ended up being a net positive for Cracker Barrel in the long run.
Yeah, probably an inside job because they're up 9% today alone.
So anyone got that dip, your little money-making opportunity here.
I think they did it on purpose.
They're cooking.
He was insider trading.
Sold at the top, put out all this bad publicity and then bought right back in.
Yeah, you could probably have made some money if you did that, right?
You know, new Coke and old Coke.
It worked for them.
So I think maybe Cracker Barrel did this.
Maybe this was their grand plan all along to get people.
When is the last time we ever talked about Cracker Barrel?
When the last time the National Mead.
When one moved to Middlesbrill, that was a big, that was big when that happened.
Barrow in the food bracket.
Yeah.
Now here's the question.
Now that it's on your mind, are you more likely to go to a Cracker Barrel now?
I actually think I kind of am because I just hadn't thought about it in so long.
It had not even occurred to me to think about going.
And now, you know, maybe you do, right?
I went to Cracker Barrel two weeks ago before all this.
So I was still in my same place with Cracker Barrow.
But I bet there are people that will now get excited that it's staying.
Like people will get talked into going now to celebrate that they're keeping the old man in his barrel.
It's in front of mine.
Of course, I think more people are going to go now because it's been in the news.
Yeah.
How awkward is it for the person that had the idea of the logo?
You just leave.
Tough day.
You just get your things and say,
tough day for the people who said do the different logo.
Yeah, that was your one contribution to the entire company.
You know what, that's good.
It does go to show, though, like they couldn't have thought when they did it,
it was going to end up like this.
But it was a good pivot to go back.
Yes, it was.
And now get all the positive attention.
So I think, I'm going to say plus one cracker barrel.
I think it ended up working out for him.
Just send that one person to the mailroom or fire them and act like it never happened.
Just keep acting like it didn't happen.
All right, who's next?
Brent.
Brent.
Brent.
Brent.
Brent.
Okay, let's go to Rob.
Rob, go ahead, Rob.
All right, do you have these people, do they exist?
Shannon, or are you just making up names?
I'm not making them up.
Let's try Casey.
Casey.
Casey, go ahead, Casey.
Hey, fellas, good morning.
Good morning.
I had two quick things, so I wanted to say congrats to the newly engaged couple.
I'm sure they're listening.
I was blown away that she got to announce the engagement herself, and it didn't leak.
And then, so I read Jason Kelsey met his wife on Tinder.
Imagine meeting to love for your life on Tinder, and now Taylor Swift is going to be your sister-in-law.
Isn't that wild?
And that's all I had.
Thanks, guys.
Yeah, that is crazy.
I didn't realize that Jason Kelsey met his wife on.
Tinder. I appreciate
the call. That is kind of
wow. By the way, where did you all meet your
where did you meet Abby?
Where all people should meet at lovely
tin roof. When it rained on our wedding day, we had to
cancel our wedding photo point where you were there.
We ended up, we were like, well, let's just take the bus
to tin roof and do photos there.
I remember that. Yes, we were about to take pictures outside.
Actually, the specific place was the color run in Louisville, but we were
there on a tin roof team. Okay.
What about you? Where did you meet your current?
Young girl and I actually used to work together at Channel 18 30 years ago.
Do you ever meet people you don't work with?
I mean, I think all three of the women you've ended up with, didn't you meet them all at work?
You're like a walking HR disaster.
I don't want a room with you anymore on trips.
I would notice this.
Do you ever get outside of work?
I don't really.
I don't do the app thing.
I don't do any of the dating services.
I'm just, you know, stay in my comfort zone.
Channel 18.
All right.
What about you?
Where did you meet your lady?
In a bar.
TK.'s pub.
You've been to TKs.
I have been to TK's pub.
That's an interesting place to go hunting.
I wasn't hunting, but, you know, sometimes things fall in your lap.
Yeah.
So that's one way to put it.
Yeah.
How about you?
Where did you find your lady?
I mean, I'm thinking you're making a mockery of a question because there's nothing to
Probably in recent years
It's been like dating out
Yeah probably because I don't go out
Right like I don't I don't go out
So where am I gonna you know
Where am I gonna meet somebody?
Being an old guy
It's crazy to watch the younger generation
That's how they meet people
But I'm not on I'm not on Tinder
I don't that that's for kids
I think I mean I haven't
The only time I was on Tinder
Was with Drew
In the great story of Inde
Dallas when I when Tinder thought I was a lesbian yeah so that's uh wait what somebody thought what
uh Tinder thought I was a lesbian you know I've told this story before we don't have to go over it again
yeah that's story it's for something but it is true it that was we're both swiping and it's also
why my age on Facebook is wrong we've talked about that before but but Tinder was like oh this
must be a lesbian 29 year old lesbian yeah who's who's a who's a
next shit. Matt.
Matt. Go ahead, Matt.
Hey, guys. How are y'all doing?
Doing good.
I just want to say
thank you for
KSR
and everything like that. I've been
doing a little medical
stuff going on.
So I've been on the couch
for a while, but I want to say thank you. I've been
listening every day for the last
couple months, and so I
appreciate you all.
Just giving
great content every day.
Well, thank you very much, and God bless you.
Good luck on your medical thing.
I do have one more thing to say.
Okay.
You all were talking about Derry Queen and the Blizzard Machine having to work.
As the owner of a sports bar, shouldn't your TVs work too?
Well, they generally do, but I mean, if I only had one television and then it didn't work,
that would be a problem.
have 30 some TV. So yeah,
occasionally one goes down, but Derry Queen
has one Blizzard machine.
So no, I don't think it's the same as
one TV goes down out of 30
as opposed to one
blizzard machine out of one goes down.
I was just trying to make a joke.
I hope you all have a great day.
If our smoker goes down, we're in trouble.
Appreciate that. Yes, if the smoker goes
down, that would be a little bit
different. Tell me about Stockton Morgan.

I'm talking. Trip Fontaine, Ryan Clark. Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing,
we get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it. And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses. Steve Burns,
Dustin Ross, because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on Earth,
or are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, actress, mother, lover, and a Gen X woman walking through life one hot flash and hormonal crying jag at a time.
You ladies know what I mean.
I'll bet you a paramedipausal chin here you do.
So let's talk about it.
Join me on my new podcast.
How hard can it be with Deanna Maria Riva, where I call on my Gen X squads from Ohio to Hollywood as we navigate midlife's most fantastic BS.
All of a sudden, I'd had hanginess happening on my own.
I was like, what the hell is that?
I was married when I had her, so I didn't even consider how empty that Ness was going to be.
Mood swings, night sweats, fupas, sex drive.
Wait, what sex?
Dating at 45. How can it be getting naked at 50 with the new guy?
That one's kind of hard, you know?
Well, that's lighting.
They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to try.
So let's get blunt with laughs, tears, or tears of laughter, and dive into it, unfiltered and unbothered and ask, how hard can it be?
I cannot believe I'm about to say this out loud in public.
Listen to How Hard Can It Be with Diana Maria Riva as part of My Cultura Podcast Network

It's your responsibility.

start doing something about it.

You know, I like this song, Shannon.
Confederate Railroad, right?
I believe it's, yeah, I think that's them.
Daddy never was a Cadillac kind.
But I think he's actually talking about
his actual father here.
He's not talking about his boss at work.
There's more like countries.
songs that have daddy in it than I would think.
Yeah, like what?
Well, there's
Daddy Won't Sell the Farm by Montgomery Gentry.
Okay.
Daddy's come around.
Yeah, Daddy's come around.
I love that song.
Daddy's come around to Mama's way of thinking.
Yeah, I'll play that one for you.
There's the Baton Rouge, right?
Colin Baton Rouge.
Papa was a mama.
How about Johnny's Daddy's Daddy was taking to fishing?
There you go.
Johnny's Daddy was taking him fish.
Toby Keith, who's your daddy?
Oh, that's right.
Toby Keith.
Who's your daddy? That's a good call.
A lot of daddy in country.
Yeah, country likes that word.
So when Johnny's daddy took him fishing, was that his father or his boss?
Not sure.
Good question.
Did you see the story about Babe Ruth in Tennessee?
This is a great story.
And I have a strong feeling about it.
There's a man in Tennessee whose name is Babe Ruth.
Really?
Okay?
Like, that's his real name, is Babe Ruth.
however he went around claiming to be Babe Ruth the Yankees player
and he defrauded allegedly 190 people out of money
by claiming to be Babe Ruth the Yankees player
and he's now been indicted for fraud and has gone to prison
for defrauding people out of money for saying he's Babe Ruth the Yankees player
I'm of the opinion that's on the people that got defrauding
If you fall for Babe Ruth, who's been dead for 75 years, then I think you deserve to lose your money, Drew.
I think you are so insanely gullible that you need to have your money parted from you.
You don't want people to get ripped off or get caught up in fraud, but if it's so obvious and you fall for it, we need to have like a level of, that's your bad.
If you answer the Saudi Prince and your DMs, send them your.
Social Security number.
You know what?
That's on you.
They also said that he realized how easy it was,
so sometimes he would claim to be other players,
including Ty Cobb and Honest Wagner.
People don't think they're still alive?
I guess.
But what is the scenario where you're giving Honest Wagner money?
Like, how would that even happen?
Is he selling his autograph?
They just played a hundred years ago in the 20s.
Now, at least his name was Babe Ruth.
So if he pulled out identification, you could be like,
Well, I guess Babe Ruth has aged pretty well.
Yeah, you look great for 140.
But Ty Cobb and Honus Wagner, too.
But he finally got caught, and he can now no longer do that.
I actually respect is the audacity to try that.
Then it worked.
Yeah, you should go around and say you're John F. Kennedy Jr.
All right, I'll try that.
That's more recent, though.
Maybe go, I don't know.
Abe Lincoln.
Abe Lincoln.
Just say you're Abe Lincoln.
I got the beard.
You're from Kentucky.
I bet you'd be able to get some.
Just do a top hat.
Yeah, just go with.
Door to door and ask for a donation.
Wow.
Wow is right.
Who's next?
Let's get it Justin.
Justin, go ahead, Justin.
Hey, guys.
Hope you're doing well.
I heard about the discussion earlier on the Dairy Queen machines.
I wanted to give a little tip.
I've been using the apps for Dairy Queen and McDonald's.
It'll tell you if it's available or unavailable.
I've even been in the drive-through where I've placed the order through that.
app because it said it was available and they have told the person in front of me sorry our machines
down and then I proceed to pull around and get my McFlurry or or blizzard whatever it is so just a little
a little workaround because I think they just don't like having to they don't like having to deal with it
sometimes yeah I can understand that they can pull them off the line a little bit makes sense you know we
have that we have an AL8 slushy machine here that does go down quite a bit I think it actually it doesn't
even work, like it'll work for a day.
But there was a time we caught one of our bartenders, just didn't want to do it.
They were like, it's down, but then it wasn't.
That was a long time ago.
But you do have to be careful.
Oh, late at night, shift ending, if you've already cleaned it, whether it's a grill, a
blizzard machine, whatever.
If you're wanting to go home, you might tell somebody that thing's not working.
I've already done that chore.
Yes.
You and I...
It's almost always available on the app.
Appreciate the call.
You and I, Drew, are at least scheduled as of now to do our first NFL
show tomorrow.
Are you feeling nervous at all?
A little bit, but I will say the feedback we got of our practice one and already
getting one under our belts, the dress rehearsal helped get me ready for it.
I feel like it took us about 15, 20 minutes in the practice to get a fill for it,
which now made me much more prepared for the real one.
The NFL sent us, Ryan, a...
They sent us a revised...
cover art.
Oh, they did.
Yeah, and I still look awful.
We need to see the update of it.
Yeah, where's the upgrade?
I showed it to Drew, right?
No, I haven't seen it.
Can we get a group text?
Well, all right, I'll send it during the break.
But basically, I still look terrible.
They still didn't give me a neck.
They still, no, wait a minute, I'm not sending it to you all.
What are you talking about?
I'm not sending it in the group text.
I'll show it to them here.
I'll show it to you when I see you, Shannon.
Well, I won't see you for a while, so I think.
So here's the thing.
It wasn't very good.
So I didn't want to be the guy that twice complained about how he looked on the thing.
So I wrote him and said, listen, this is fine if you have to do it.
It still doesn't look like me.
And I think I didn't say you did this on chat GPT, but it looks like it was done on chat GPT.
So I said, but it's fine if you want to put it out.
And he was like, no, we want you to be happy with the first one.
We'll put out just another logo and then work on this in the thing.
So all they did was basically take my forehead wrinkle out.
And, you know, they took a couple of the crow's feet away from me and Drew.
Yeah, I don't know why I had to look 70 in that.
We've got these great characters of you guys right behind us every day.
And these are 15 years old.
And they're really good.
Like, I would think the technology has gotten better.
but these are 15 years old right here,
and I think they still look very good, don't you?
Yeah, I've even seen some that are AI,
but the people have posted on Bond that Bridge,
and I'm like, wow, that looks really professional,
and I assume they just ran it through AI.
Why can't our friends at the league use the same technology?
I don't know.
But I also am very careful because I don't want to seem like,
I mean, we're brand new.
I don't want to seem diva-e or demanding.
They're going to find out eventually.
You might as well let them know.
They can cancel this and keep moving on
with their lives and not miss us right now that's true who's next uh quickly let's get brent on
brent 40 seconds go ahead hey matt good morning good morning quickly yeah so i wanted to talk about the
disrespect that kentucky's getting to this first game against polito everybody's picking
to let's that game and up at kentucky and i know there's some skepticism because of the you know
the debacle that last year was and to be honest i don't really believe a whole lot this year either but
If you don't think the coaches and the team haven't heard that
and aren't going to come out and play with a chip on your shoulder,
I mean, that's crazy.
I hope you're right.
T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney.
Call T.J. He'll make them pay.
Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.
I genuinely like this song, Shannon.
It's Paul Overstreet, right?
Yep.
It's a lot of daddy in here, though.
It is.
But I've always liked it.
He's an underrated artist, actually.
I just showed you the new picture.
Not a fan, right?
I see the problem.
It looks like you need some definition.
They just use one color throughout your whole neck, face, and forehead,
and you can't really tell what's what.
It's like a blob.
Purple.
That one is a little better, but you need some features.
Yeah, it's not very good.
All right, I said on yesterday Matt Sack, who's a Kentucky fan site guy,
he wrote out, he was, or no, Justin Rowland,
asked who the Kentucky football Mount Rushmore was.
Who were like the four, if you were to create the Kentucky football Mount Rushmore,
who would it be?
And he had suggestions, and so here were mine.
I feel like three of them, I feel like my first three,
I don't think you can really dispute.
And then I think the fourth one,
you can go a lot of different directions depending on what you think matters.
So to me, like, art still is, like, is definite.
Art still has to be on there.
All-American great defensive play.
Then Tim Couch, I think, has to be on there.
Best quarterback, number one overall pick, et cetera.
And then Josh Allen, for me, has to be on there.
I think Josh Allen is the best modern player that Kentucky has had.
But then I think after that, you decide, okay, do I want like a George Blanda?
Do I want Benny Snell, who has the rushing title?
Do I want Randall Cobb who could do everything for a few years?
Dermani Dawson, who has an amazing legendary pro career, good at Kentucky, but not like Mount Rushmore,
but maybe the best pro of all time.
I think I had one more on my list of potentials.
Is there anybody else that you could see,
and then do you disagree with any of my major three?
See, I'm leaning Dermani, even though maybe his UK career.
But I mean, he's only second team all SEC.
Yeah, but what he did post-Kentucky,
one of the greatest centers to ever play the game,
I think that earns him the right to be on our Mount Rushmore.
But usually when we do UK basketball,
we don't take into count pro their pro career.
Yep.
He even changed positions in the NFL, really, mostly guard here,
and then became one of the best centers ever in Pittsburgh.
So who would be yours?
My first three I thought of immediately, yeah, was Couch, Archdill, and Dermani.
That fourth one, Josh Allen's a great example of somebody that could probably do it.
But if you go back today, Babe Pirelli and George Blan, those guys,
they won the mythical national championship.
We're going to ignore those guys?
I give, I mean, and this is my bias, and I'm fine with it, I'll accept it.
I give less for things like Mount Rushmore when you played when you played when,
it was segregated. I mean, I just
I think it's just a different time
in sports if I'm saying who
the best
of the best are. That's just me.
I'm with you that there's three
that, I mean, it's Mount Rushmore. Go ahead and
put them in stone, put them up there. It's Art Still,
Josh Allen, Tim Couch. I think that
should be on just about everybody's list.
Fourth, you can go a lot of directions.
I'm actually going to say someone you
didn't name, it's more personality.
I'm going to say Jared, because a lot of people
when you think of Kentucky football, if you're
not from around here.
You don't fall out closely.
That is one of the first players you think of.
So it's more of, obviously, the personality and the style than what he actually accomplished.
But I would put Jared as a fourth.
You wouldn't put Josh Allen on yours?
I mean, he's an all-time sack leader.
If you're talking about pro, if you're talking about pro stuff, I mean, he's got,
he's probably been Kentucky's best pro in the modern era.
Yeah, we talked the other day.
The three best defensive players have probably been Josh Allen, Dennis Johnson, and Arch Still.
So you pick one of those three, you pick two of those three, I don't know.
It's hard for me to pick an offensive lineman.
Just because, like, who knows?
I mean, like, it's hard.
Like, what's the name of the guy that was an All-American?
Was it Fane or something?
Or isn't there?
Who's the guy back in the seven, what?
Bob Gain.
Yeah, I mean, I don't know.
Right.
Like, he was an All-American.
I can't say he was better or worse.
than pick the offensive linemen on the big blue wall,
because I don't really know how to compare that.
Is Dermonti, though, the only Kentucky graduate
to be in the NFL Hall of Fame?
He is, and I'm not dismissing that at all.
He's great.
It's also the case, though, that, like,
that Steelers team,
they put everybody in the Hall of Fame off that Steelers team.
I think they got, like, ten people in the Hall of Fame.
That was kind of during the time,
sort of like at U.K. basketball,
when we put all those people in the 50,
all of Siem's friends, as you said, in the Hall of Fame.
They've kind of done that with that Steelers team over the years.
That's all still what he did in the pros.
I'm trying to do UK Mount Rushmore.
I think Josh Allen, if you look at his accolades,
he won every possible award you could win.
He was unanimous All-American,
every defensive trophy you can win,
SEC defensive player of the year.
I think he might be the number one lock of any of them.
Yeah, I'm amazed how, considering how recent he is,
how much pushback I got on social media for Josh Allen.
I don't even think Josh Allen is kind of a debate.
I mean, if you were to say to me,
I bet you if Mark Stoops was sitting here,
and I said, Mark, who's the best player you've had?
Wouldn't he say Josh Allen?
Probably so.
And I don't think he would have to think of it.
He almost certainly would say Josh Allen.
Maybe Lynn Bowden because of just the unique what he did here.
Maybe, but I think you would say Josh Allen.
And I think, you know, we've never had a Heisman winner.
But we've had one national defensive player of the year winner, and it's him.
So how could you not put him on it, right?
And then Tim Couch was second in the Heism.
That Hosman conversation.
So, I mean, those two guys, and then Art Still obviously has all those accolades.
And also was, so for me, those three kind of stick out.
And I think there might be some people that may try to argue maybe Bear Bryant.
Maybe put a coach up there.
Well, if I include coaches, then he's certainly up there.
I don't include coaches necessarily, but if I did, I think he would definitely be the fourth.
So who would you bump off if you include him?
Well, I don't have a definitive fourth one.
Because I, you know, I can even, I can be talked.
I could be talked into Randall Cobb.
I might go Cobb next.
I think Benny's hurt by Chris Rodriguez coming right behind him and have an identical stretch.
And he's also probably hurt by the fact that we had the greatest offensive line in our history during that that was part of it.
Yeah, I mean, what's the case for Benny Snell, but not Chris Rodriguez?
Is there one?
I mean, Chris Rodriguez broke all his records.
And then Ray Davis broke that touchdown record.
So, yeah, I don't know.
But I feel very good about my three.
Three should be on everybody's.
Who's up next?
Jim.
Jim, go ahead, Jim.
Hey, guys.
I don't know if you've addressed it yet,
but the announced team for our game against Toledo on the SEC Network is Taylor
Zerza.
and Matt Stinchcombe, one of my favorite duos.
Yes, we've had them a bunch over the years.
I think they do a really good job, actually.
And Alyssa Lane.
Yeah.
And as far as Bob Gaines, he was the first Outland Trophy winner in the SEC.
Is that right?
He would have to have consideration.
Yeah, I like your other three picks, though, very well.
Appreciate it.
All right, then I would throw him in there, too.
I mean, if we're going to put Dermani in,
then I think we probably would have to put Bob Gain, because even though I don't know a lot about him,
in terms of accolades, he has to be towards the top, right?
His accolades at Kentucky were actually better than Normani's accolades, just at Kentucky.
Just, if you're just looking at Kentucky.
You're exactly right.

Oh, blueberry breeze for me.
I like salt at watermelon.

You ladies know what I mean. I'll bet you a perimenopausal chin here you do. So let's talk about it.
Join me on my new podcast. How hard can it be with the Adamania Arriva, where I call on my Gen X squads

hanginess happening on my own. I was like, what the hell is that? I was married when I had her.
so I didn't even consider how empty that nest was going to be.
Mood swings, night sweats, fupas, sex drive.
Wait, what sex?
Dating at 45.
How can it be getting naked at 50 with the new guy?
That one's kind of hard.
Well, that's lighting.
They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to try.
So let's get blunt with laughs, tears, or tears of laughter,
and dive into it, unfiltered and unbothered and ask,
how hard can it be?
I cannot believe I'm about to say this out loud in public.
Listen to how hard can it be with the Anna Maria Riva,

This is like your favorite song.
Any of your favorite songs?
No, but if you wanted, sure.
Can we act like that?
When I was younger, I guess when I'm listening to my 90s
country as a kid, this is all that.
For some reason, though, I always think of this with you.
I think of this.
Missy Lollabies, one I used to get naked, too.
That's probably the one you were thinking of.
Yeah, that wasn't the way.
That wasn't exactly what I thought of when I thought of you on it.
And the people that don't know that story now are wondering what that is.
What is leaving it at that?
And then there was the one that, wow, what's its name?
You hated it.
And then you, Billy Dean.
Billy the Kid.
Billy the Kid.
That's right.
Some other suggestions here for that fourth spot.
Sonny Collins.
Good one.
Good choice.
Derek Ramsey.
Him and Archdale were the best of that time period.
Multiple picks for Max Duffy.
You know, if you're just talking about who I like, I would pick Mac Steffey.
You can't pick a punter, though.
Like, they don't do enough things.
But if you're just talking about people who won national player of the year at their position,
we have three.
Bob Gane, Josh Allen, and Max Steffey.
Wow.
I do like our four of Art Steel from the 70s, Dermonti from the 80s,
Tim Couch from the 90s, and Josh Allen then from the 2000s.
I kind of like that we spread it out like that, those four I think our best picks.
It really just shows how packed the tradition is over there that you can't
of four players to put up there just so many to choose from well it's interesting because it's it's
it's almost not balanced in the sense of like you know it's it's you got this top little group and then
there's like a bunch of people you know we didn't even mention Lynn Bowden and I mean you
mentioned that Stoops likes him but I mean you there's a case considering all the things he did that
like it's it's a lot and that we didn't mention Andre Woodson another guy who was very very good
Great season.
Coach Brooks could probably even get a little conversation in there.
We're going to go.
Who is your top, your Mount Rushmore of guys you like?
You said Max is for your guys.
Well, okay, so you're talking about my just favorite four people that played at Kentucky football.
Max is certainly probably number one.
Jared, Max and Jared are 1-1-A.
I take those two and Dante and Dane.
Okay.
Y'all left for you.
No, wait, Freddie Baggerd.
All right, so, yeah.
So we're going Max, Jared, Freddie, and then give me one more.
I take Max, Jared, and Freddie.
You talk about going out and having fun.
That's a good group.
Max, Jared, and Freddie would be a go-out and have just about the most amount of fun you could have.
I mean, that would be pretty good.
And then I really like Benny Snell a lot.
I mean, when he was here, he had a great personality.
Cash has done a lot of stuff.
with us?
He has, yeah?
I thought Tim Couch was God for a few years
ago, so I'd go Tim Couch,
Max, Freddie, Jared.
You're going Tim Couch, one.
Man, when they were air-rading,
well, I didn't, and that was no particular order.
I'm just saying that's my four.
But when they were air-raiding and I was a kid,
I didn't think there was a better athlete on the planet.
So I got to go Freddie, Jared, Max, Dante.
Okay, I think I'll go
Freddie, Jared, Max.
Hmm.
I don't know.
That other one's kind of,
I'm trying to think who, who,
I think who've done the show with us.
I mean, if you just talk, leave aside personality and who was the most fun,
I've never had more fun watching a person than watching Lynn Bowden
because you just didn't know what he was going to do.
I mean, at any given moment, something crazy could happen, and I love that.
You could pick Vince?
Yeah, if we could pick coaches, he would certainly be up.
But he's on Louisville.
If I, my Mount Rushmore, I cut his head off when it goes to Louisville.
If he's up there on the mountain,
We're bringing him down.
I don't know how we do that, but we'll figure it out.
We will.
Who's next?
Jeff.
Jeff, go ahead, Jeff.
Man, I ain't going to wow.
I did laugh out and out when I can talk to daddy.
Yeah, well, you were the one.
The reason I was calling, I want to talk about the Jake Paul, Pickleball, Shannon,
hand-picking his own opponent so he knows he can win.
Yeah.
Oh, wait a minute.
Did you make sure to pick somebody you're going to beat, Shannon?
Of course.
It's like Kentucky football.
You've got to play some Eastern Michigan.
before you play in Georgia, right?
I mean, that's what I'm doing.
Oh, okay.
I want to pick somebody that could beat me.
Interesting.
I didn't know you were doing that.
It's got gamesmanship.
All right, Jeff.
No, that's not the same.
I appreciate the call.
So between you two that you're playing today, who's better?
I mean, if we're being serious, Shannon has played, right?
Yeah.
I don't even know how to play.
You never play before.
But you were a tennis player.
Well, my career record is zero, zero because I broke my ankle on the day of my first match.
Oh, okay.
So I did the whole preseason.
I earned spot number two for Madisonville and then shattered my ankle playing basketball
on lunch break.
Okay.
I mean, if we're setting odds, I like talking trash, and I'm going to leave it all in the field.
But if we're set nods, Shannon's a favorite.
I mean, I don't even know, is it a racket, a paddle?
I don't even know what I'm hitting.
It's a paddle.
Okay.
I'm new to it, but he'll lose.
By the way, the spread has changed a lot on the Toledo Kentucky game.
It was seven, and it's now up to nine and a half, and in one book, ten and a half.
So a lot of money.
One sort of big-time gambler said he wondered if Toledo would even score a touchdown,
said that their offense is not, that he doesn't understand where all the loves coming from
because they don't have an offense.
What do you think about that?
The moment it got to seven-and-half, I bet it at nine-and-a-half for plus money,
and I'm not done with it, but I'm going to bet it at 13-half, probably 17-ish,
all the way up to 20.
I'll probably stop at 19-and-a-half, but I'm going to have, like, staggered lines for odds.
because I am as it gets closer, and I'm even one of the ones that said,
don't sleep on this team.
I'm thinking they're going to be all right, and probably more than all right.
I think it could be a whooping.
I think it was all the talk we had about the Toledo Heisman Trophy quarterback.
But seriously, are you, I mean, do you think they're going to this sort of late move
that they're not going to be able to score?
Do you think that there's anything to that?
I think that Kentucky's defense will shut them down quite a bit.
The Kentucky's strength of this team is their defense.
They'll be able to shut down SEC teams.
So, yeah, I definitely think they'll shut down a Toledo team.
And we said earlier the difference is the offensive line in these games.
If Kentucky's offensive line is what we wanted to be and, you know, Bush said it's going back to old school.
They should push Toledo around.
If they don't, I think we have longer-term problems than week one.
It is funny to me how nothing can happen and vibes change so immensely.
You know, there's no news.
Nothing has occurred.
The line was at 13.5.
It went to 7.5 based on nothing.
And now it's up to 9.5 or 10 and a half based on nothing.
Like people's vibes can just change that much.
And there's no news for either team of substance.
I think it went to 7.5 because it was a very popular, all these podcasts are doing their predictions.
And if you look at week one, it really is, if you're just looking at names and
logos. It would be one you
pick as an upset. A Mac favorite playing
a Kentucky team that's won four games
a year ago. You don't even have to know the
rosters. People are picking that as an upset
one, and I think that changed the numbers a little bit.
Who's next? Let's go to
Mike. Mike. Go ahead, Mike.
Hey Matt, getting back to Dairy Queen.
The go-to or the one, and there's
two that I know of in Kentucky.
It's a walk-up window. They don't
serve all the food.
There's one in Murray.
They serve chili dogs.
Yes.
But yeah, you just walk up to the window, and it's seasonal.
So it opens in March, closes at the end of October.
And, you know, being from down there, it's all ever, it's a big event.
It's all everyone talks about on your Facebook feed.
But, yeah, if you ever get down the one of them Kroger's, the other, or a dairy queen,
the other one in Covington.
But, yeah, you'll have a good.
I would like a walk-up one.
And then the one in Flemingsburg, we've been to.
That's the best one.
That's the one.
is always very, very good.
They had home-style breakfast, and we're up there.
Apparently the one in Paintsville gets,
we've got to give them some love over the years, too.
Chili sauce there, right?
Yeah, the Chili sauce.
The chili sauce.
Dairy sauce.
Of all places, seems the most to just let their franchisees go off script.
They don't make whatever you want.
Let me ask you a question of the folks who can hear me.
There's a lot of people in here who can't.
Everybody, everybody feel like Kentucky's winning Saturday?
Is there anybody that's legitimately really nervous about it?
That's good.
Yeah.
It does seem like the fan base is getting more confidence as we get closer.
I hope it is because it feels like it is.
I needed to be reminded that they beat Ohio 41 to 6 with a team that's worse than this one last year.
And that in week one, when Bush Hamden didn't even have a full off season,
they were scoring at will before that lightning strike against Southern Miss.
So they have handled their non-conference opponents a little better than they did in the early Stoops years.
Yeah, that is important to remember.

I'm Timbo, and every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments in sports and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves.
They're notherom stories, their reactions in the moment, and the stuff nobody gets to hear.

What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue of 42.
Hey, Wreck, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Hey, Ms. Parker.
