What's up, guys? This is Clivert Taylor the 4th. And on my podcast, The Clivert Show,
I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff. Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me. He goes,
Hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What?
Time out. Look. Quarterback on office blue 42.
Hey, ref, my mama want you to wave at her.
What? Where's he at?
Hey, Miss Parker.

Welcome to Hour 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio, presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Now, here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back, Hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio.
Ryan, Drew, Shannon, Mario's running around here somewhere.
859-2802-287.
That's the Clark's Publish Shop phone number.
Our aviation glass text machine number is Drew.
8 5 or excuse me
502
7
yes 3536 80 there you go
502 7
35 36 80 easy to remember
just rolls off the tongue
but we have breaking news from the NFL
Shannon
our NFL
our NFL expert Drew Franklin now with breaking news regarding the
NFL I work for the league Ryan don't forget
slightly breaking we should have mentioned this with the
bingles the burrow injury but man
Cincinnati fans
gonna be looks like could be three months without
Joe Burrow and turf toe surgery. That guy has to get away from Cincinnati. Bingles fans,
I love you. I know you love him. I know it's been fun. But for Joe Burrow, please get him
where he can be taken care of. The poor Bengals, I didn't think they had a cart to wheel him off
yesterday. They're getting clown on the internet because there's footage of Burrow in the back,
barefoot, just walking on concrete. That organization, you got a $250 million player.
and I don't even think they got a John Deere
rolling back to you does X-rays.
How can they not have a golf cart
running around in that stadium?
They could help him get through the concourse
walking around barefoot.
So Shannon and I were asking,
what the heck is turf toe?
It occurs when the ligament under the big toe
is hyper-extended.
So what happens when the toe is forced to bend upwards
and he's going to have surgery
and he's out for three months,
Bingle fans,
somewhere Paul is crying.
I don't think the season
will matter by the time he comes back.
Wow.
If I go three months without Joe Burrow.
And they got the win yesterday.
Yeah, they're 2 and 0.
I mean, you're excited about
that offense in a big year after
you kind of didn't reach your expectations
last season, and then here it's been
two games and you don't have Burrow.
This is from the Aviation Glass Tech Machine.
I love you guys, but
my buddies and I have discussed and come to the conclusion
you all's hate for McAfee is weird.
He's hilarious, and every guy
age 20 to 40 loves him.
He's also voted punter of the decade by the NFL.
Is that right?
I guess I'm just outside of his demographic then,
because I don't think he's funny at all.
I think he's a big jackass.
I don't hate McAfee.
I even said, I think he's pretty good on game day.
I just don't like tune in for his show weekly.
He's fine.
There's a lot of shows I don't listen to.
859-2-287.
Clark's published out phone number.
For Kentucky, somebody has pointed out
that South Carolina does have Missouri.
Saturday. I mean, Missouri is a good football team, too. So South Carolina's got a tough one before we go down to
Columbia to play down there. I think going to the season, Columbia had aspirations of maybe trying
to get in the playoff talk a little bit. Obviously, I think it all comes down to their quarterback.
Sellers is out. They just, after he left, they look like they had no idea what's going on
on offense. Yeah, and Missouri is ranks now. They're undefeated. They won the border war last
week against Kansas. So they're a good Missouri team heading to Columbia.
maybe they can beat up on South Carolina a little more for us.
The last time we went down to South Carolina,
I got punched in the face and my jaw got fractured.
So I'm not going to the game,
but it is one of the best environments in college football.
I mean, I hate to say it, but it was awesome.
It was a night game,
and they were playing Sandstorm and the roosters crowing,
and it's crazy down there.
I've never been for football.
I've been to several basketball games.
I'll admit I enjoy a Columbia trip.
I don't know that I would like Sandstorm and the football experience.
It's a little much for me,
but it is a fun road trip to make
it is yeah yeah so
speaking of game day experience
we've been very critical of
Krogerfield not shy about that
I'm sure they have gotten a lot of emails
because the fan base has been very outspoken
I will say it has improved
with each week
so it's not like they're just sitting on their hands
doing nothing I don't think
Warren Peace did the first game when the music was just
atrocious he did the second and it was better
and it was even better last week
they played the do the job
John Wall song. I know that's basketball. It actually got people on their feet dancing. Maybe
revisit that. We got to do anything we can. Absolutely. Just being a night game helped. I know it's
Eastern Michigan, but the light set up. It naturally brings out the energy. You've been tailgating all day.
I thought the fans surprised me. Of course, it wasn't a full house, but even it started pouring
rain out of nowhere and not many people left their seat. The students were there most of the game.
So Cogrefield's still got a long way to go. I'm not crowning it and saying it's a great
atmosphere, but to their credit, each week, it's gradually getting better.
It's good to hear you say that, because on the postgame show, I think we had like four
different collars that said the same thing.
Okay, so I'm not crazy.
We need to shout out the atmosphere was better, the environment was better, the music was better.
The students even stayed till half-time, even during the rain and everything.
So I think it's been an improvement every week so far.
Yeah, we got to tip the cap.
They're trying, honestly, part of it, I know a lot of people don't like this.
They're just, they're playing more rap music.
And I know rap music's not for everyone, but that does make the crowd.
It does.
And the players are dancing on the sideline.
I think that's been a big part of it.
Well, the students can play a big part of that.
If they're into the game, if they're engaged, everybody can kind of feed off them a little bit.
There's still awkward downtimes that I don't know what you do about.
I mean, if I were them, I'd be like, hey, remember Stevie got loose and just play anything.
Yeah.
Because there's still long periods of everyone looking at each other and there's not much going on
and people are on their phones trying to check Twitter.
That hasn't gotten better.
But the music has improved with each week.
and then the light set up really helped.
You know, I'm a big proponent on the Jumbotron.
They need to show the students.
You know, just get them more engaged and show the students a lot.
At the Colts game yesterday, I was kind of watching what their Jumbotron does.
You know, they do all the stuff, the Simba cam, the Kiss Cam, the dance cam, all this stuff.
Anything like that to keep the people engaged during a dead ball period when they're not just sitting there looking at their phone.
And Rob's pretty good about that.
They are.
They are.
For sport, not as long a breaks, not as many.
I get it.
But just steal some of the stuff you're doing over there with just.
putting fans on the screen, and I said this before, fans need to be told what to do.
I mean, have like a bit.
I mean, the Snackwards cams get a little played out, but stuff like that.
Like have a bit on the screen that people are a part of.
Yeah.
So it wasn't just a football weekend.
It was UK Hall of Fame weekend.
Michaela Epps, Carl Towns, Josh Hines, Abby Cheek and Sonia Hahn, were the six inductees.
They were all there for the dinner Friday night.
Then there was somebody else special in town Friday night, also for the ceremony, Drew.
Ellen Caliperi?
Ellen, I think was here.
Brad?
I think Brad was also here.
Was John Caliperi was sneaking around Lexington Friday night?
I know he was.
Lots of people had some John Caliperi sightings, had a few friends that actually got to hang out with Cal.
I said this on the pregame show, but I'm going to be very complimentary of John.
Caliperi. I've gotten my digs off and my jokes several times and that will continue. But I thought
he played Hall of Fame weekend perfectly. He was there for Carl, but he kept a distance where it
wasn't about him. Because if he had shown up to that ceremony, it had been all about him.
Abby Cheek. Heck, Carl, no, it wouldn't have been about any of them. It would have been about
John Caliperi showing his face at UK. Mark Pope was there. The news cameras would have sprinted
over to him to get the video. That whole event would have been the Cal coming back homecoming.
I think Brad and Ellen
Mark you were there
Were they there?
I think they might have gone
Not certain about that
But I thought
He played it right by not going
But then he had a private party
With Carl after to celebrate with Carl
So he was able to be there for Carl
But also not be a distraction
So tip of the cap for how Cal handled that
Coming back
He wore a little too much red
It had like a red t-shirt
And a red plaid blazer
I feel like we could have worked
In a lot of blue for this event
Especially since he was laying low
But good on him for doing that
I agree
We give cow slack a lot Shannon
But I think he played it right
kind of just played second fiddle, came in to support Carl, but didn't want to be the story.
So have his own private little dinner with Carl.
Send Ellen and Brad to the ceremony.
So Shannon, I really think that's probably the best way.
We need to compliment him, I think, in doing that.
Yeah, be there, but don't make it all about yourself.
And the fact that I didn't even know that he was there, I read about it, about the Hall of Fame induction.
I didn't know that Cal was actually there, so I think that he played it the way he should have.
And kudos to the UK.
They scheduled it on the weekend when Jacksonville was playing the Bengals.
so Josh Hines Ward could be here for it.
They were all here.
Josh Hines Ward?
The Steelers'Legs?
Heinz Ward.
I love Heinz-Word when he was the Steelers.
Josh Hines-Alan.
But then they announced everybody at halftime
what Josh was not there.
And Carl wasn't there when they announced everybody
at halftime of the game.
Yeah, the two A-listers that group got on out.
Josh had to get to his game.
I don't know what Carl had to do.
But it's still good to have them in for a night.
And then the other four.
We haven't mentioned Doug Flynn, right?
We got to include Doug Flynn.
Doug Flynn.
I forgot. Sorry, Doug. Got to include him in the mix. But the other four inductees got their moment at Krogerfield. So it was cool for that. And congratulations to the new class.
Doug, Doug Flynn long overdue. Heck yeah. The dude won a couple of World Series rings with the Big Red Machine. Spent like 12, 13 years in the big leagues. Long overdue. And I said this on the, I think maybe on Friday. He also was on the basketball team with Adolf Rupp at UK on the freshman team when he came here to start with. So yeah, a long overdue honor for Doug Flynn.
Absolutely.
859-280-2287.
We got any call, Shannon?
Let's go to Bob and Jamestown.
Bob.
Bob.
How you, Bob?
How you doing, guys?
Shannon, a story about Ringo.
He's always, I played drums since junior high.
It was always Ringo or either Jigabaker.
And you're a lucky guy to be able to catch him,
especially at this point in his life, like you say,
85 years old and looking like he's 40.
He's a time.
guy. That's right. Yeah. Wow. I need whatever his skin routine is because he looks very, very young compared
to his age. Oh, man. You're a lucky guy to be able to catch that. Listen, good talking to you
guys. Bob, is there anything you've not done? You played the drums. You were an star athlete. You were a
heartthrob in high school. What did you not do in high school? No, I wasn't a star athlete.
No, no. A buddy of mine's dad was a football coach at Hamilton Thabbed High School.
But I was always down here at the lake.
I just, I couldn't handle those summer practices.
I mean, they wanted me bad in football, but no, I wouldn't want to be going to do that.
Of course they did.
I didn't, I was down here at the lake.
Anyway, it's a beautiful day and good talking to y'all.
All right, Bob, appreciate it. Bob, Bob and James Town.
He opens up a line 859-280-2287.

It's one hot mama.
They're talking about Diego Pavia's mom or Shannon's mom.
Oh, stop it.
You always say that about my mom.
Your mom's a little hot.
You're not going to get a date with my mom.
She's married.
She's taken.
Sorry.
Yeah, yoga girl wouldn't like that either.
Yeah, I don't think she would.
She might be listening right now, you know?
I didn't see that, yoga girl.
859-2-2-287.
That's our Clark's Pumby Shop phone number.
You called me.
You were sitting there with Yoga Girl, and I said,
you said, yoga girl sitting here.
I say, hey, what's up yoga? Like, yoga was her first name. I don't know why I said that,
but I've called her yoga so many times. I now just call her yoga for her first name.
Her nickname, yeah, yoga. It's really weird.
He's called her girl.
Tell us to me a nice text on Saturday.
She was very happy that Drew hosted the pregame show and did a great job.
Thank you. She was very proud of you. She's like, you know, I'm going to send Drew a text,
telling him how he did a good job.
And I have her saved in my phone as Yoga Girl.
So it threw me off a little bit when I was heading to the game and Yoga Girl popped up.
But thank you, yoga.
Yoga Girl.
Our last name's going to be Girl until Ryan changes it to Lemon.
I think Yoga Lemon.
I think YogaLer is good enough.
That's good enough.
Tell us about your family's car dealership you're so proud about, Drew Franklin.

We had a special guest, the Franklin family. We had a special guest designed up to come in
today, Jojo Kemp, but Jojo got called off because of each real job.
Oh, day job got in the way.
The old day job duty call. So we're going to bring Jojo back one of these next couple weeks
that Matt is off. And he's a good guest. He's done the show with us before.
But we do have two special guests lined up for tomorrow, Drew Franklin. Tell us who's coming
in tomorrow. Yes, very excited about this one. It's a double announcement here.
First, I'm going to say that the guests are filled of 68, Rob Doster and Jeff Goodman.
How about that? And it's in person. They are going to be in Lexington to watch
Kentucky basketball practice.
And I sent Rob a text. I said, hey, sorry you're going to be watching ball.
You want to come by the bar and talk a little ball?
Absolutely.
They're in.
We'll have them on tomorrow.
We'll go as long as they can, as long as they want to stay.
They're excited.
Then we'll have to send them over to watch the cats.
Unfortunately, we're getting them before they see practice.
Okay.
So we won't get scoop, but they'll still have plenty to say, maybe we'll check back in
after the practice at that time.
But they will be in Lexington.
I'm excited about that.
And it coincides with earlier this morning.
We announced that Field of 68, now colleagues,
of KSR website over at On3.
On 3.
So they're your coworkers now.
I'll be seeing Rob and Jeff around the break room.
I already told them they're on donut duty for the first two weeks.
But very exciting stuff at On 3 headquarters with Phil of 68, joining the family, maybe more opportunities to do stuff with them in the future.
You know, there was a time where a lot of Kentucky fans, I don't think, had much good to say about Jeff Goodman.
He seemed to be a little anti-cow.
But I think Jeff Goodman has got back in good graces with the Kentucky fan.
it seems like in the recent years.
Well, we'll find out tomorrow because I talked to Rob, I didn't talk to Jeff.
Maybe Rob will show up by himself.
But, yeah, KSR and Jeff have a bit of a history.
Yes.
He and Matt have gone out to eat since then.
They have.
I've, you know, said hi to him at games and looking forward to hearing from tomorrow
on what they have to say about the basketball team.
Comes at a good time with the football bar.
We'll get to hear a little bit basketball with practice slowly ramping up over there.
So we'll be at live at KS Bar tomorrow.
Come over and have lunch with us and see Jeff Goodman and Rob Doster and we'll talk a little basketball
all tomorrow. So good get for you. And then Wednesday we've got Lee K. Howard,
superstar in Lexington Media. He's going to join us Wednesday at KS Bar.
Thursday, we're at a remote in Mount Vernon. It's for the Christian Appalachian Project
on Main Street. It's a bank on Main Street, right? Community Trust Bank or something
I shouldn't have said that. It's a bank on Main Street. I think it is. I think it is that.
I thought it was Community Trust Bank on Main Street in Mount Vernon. And then Friday,
we're at Wild Eggs, the new Wild Eggs in Tate's Creek. Breakfast lunch with the bar.
lunch and lunch with a bar, wild eggs.
I forgot to mention the field of 68.
The field of 68 with their big announcement today,
they dropped their basketball preseason top 25.
Oh, they did?
And the cats are?
We're going to have to have a little talk.
Cats are seventh.
Not mad about that, but Louisville's 6th.
Oh, really?
We can't have that.
Can't have that.
I mean, Louisville's definitely going to be good.
Are they that good?
Well, tomorrow on the air, we're going to have them corrected.
They're going to fix that.
Who's the number one?
I assume Purdue.
I was trying to pull up the list.
I assume Purdue.
I just knew those two.
I'll have it.
I'm going to say Purdue without knowing what they actually did.
This is on the aviation glass text machine.
I went to the Bourbon and Beyond this weekend.
The highlight for me, besides seeing fish with my dad, his favorite band and my brother,
was seeing Shannon the dude.
In my awkward moment of realizing who he was walking by, he was kind enough to high-five me.
I meant what I said.
I love listening to the show and you all do a fantastic job.
So there you go, Shannon.
All those bands and your highlight was to see me.
Yes.
They really had the bar set low.
I appreciate everybody who came by,
and that's the cool thing about being out there.
You've got 50 or 60,000 people walking around every day,
and you get to meet a lot of listeners,
and it's a lot of fun out there.
859-2802-287.
Let's get another phone call, Shannon.
Who we got?
Let's go to Don.
Don, go ahead, Don.
Hey, Ryan, Southwest Indiana.
Are you aware of two PAC football players committed to the SEC?
I am not aware of the podcast.
Rocket Athletic Conference, the premier conference in all of college high school sports,
which Pike Central High School was a member of.
Where are these PAC athletes coming from?
Because I guarantee it's not Pike Central High School.
Herty Chills got the Goldsbury Boy and Rucks are committed to Oklahoma and Ole Miss.
Wow.
Yeah, Herdy Chills defending state champs up there in Indiana.
Yeah, and they got moved to 4A this year, so it would be a little different.
but, you know, I'm not a Patriot graduate.
I actually, a little bit to the west of that, small school style.
But it's, they played Apollo a couple of weeks ago when it was like 50 to nothing at the quarter.
Appreciate it, Don, appreciate the phone call.
But I wondered if he didn't care of that.
No, I didn't know that.
I knew that Goldsbury kid was really good, but appreciate the phone call.
Since Shannon, look, we gave my high school a shout out.
Drew is like busting at the seams of his high school.
We gave you time on the pregame show to go talk about your Madisonville Maroons.
You want to do it again?
Absolutely.
I'll do the full hour on Madisonville if you want.
That's the best town on Earth, Frank.
Did you know that?
I did know they were undefeated at this point and just had a big win.
Huge win.
Huge win.
Beed Paduca Tilman.
It was last Thursday night, so it's been a few days.
I don't think we got to mention it on Friday.
But shout out to my Maroons.
We're not exactly an athletic powerhouse there, but we try hard.
And we beat Paducah Tilman.
Paduca Tilman was on some ridiculous win streak.
They got D1 commits at every position.
They got money everywhere.
I didn't say that, but they might.
Great team, and they came into Madisonville, and they got that butt kick.
So I'm proud of Madisonville.
Go Maroons.
And at noon today, the KSR Top 25 gets updated.
They better have Madisonville in there.
I swear.
Listen, everyone that works at KSR, there will be problems when I get to that office later
if Madisonville is not in the top 25.
We will have a company-wide meeting, and some people are
packing their things and heading home for the last time if Madisonville is not in that top
25. I'm going to make a prediction. I bet they still have Paduca Tilman ranked over Madisonville
in your top 25. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Tillman was third. Huge win. Madisonville
but very proud of the Maroons. Watch out everybody. They got like a pipeline from some kids
from Chattanooga that have come over there. That's right. Division one kids. They can get them
wherever they want. Go to all the Tennessee cities. I don't care. Just come to Madisonville and get
that butt-wipped again if you need to. Well, after you went on your rant on the pregame show about
Madisonville. I got an angry tech from somebody
that we did not give the same
props and recognition to South Laurel High School, who is also
4-0 coming out of nowhere.
Their new coach John Heinz down there
they sold him from Pulaski County.
So we got to give at least South Laurel a little props. They're 4-0 also down there.
That's true. We like the schools that don't have a lot of
tradition getting some big wins. Shout out to them too.
I'm a little closer to Madisonville. I don't even think they've had
athletic success since I was on the golf team, to be honest.
859-2-807.
Who's next, Shannon?
Just kidding, Madison.
Dennis.
Dennis, go ahead, Dennis.
The music to me still sucks out there at the stadium.
For me, because I don't like hip-hop.
Don't care for rap.
I'm a classic rock guy, heavy metal guy.
And it really ticks me off.
I ain't heard one Aussie tune out there this whole season.
And, you know, the guy,
I would have thought at least the band during halftime
had played tribute to Ozzy.
So that really, that irks me right there.
And I'm also ticked off that UK did not have a minute of silence for Charlie Kirk.
There's a lot of other SEC schools that did.
A lot of NFL teams did.
But UK, and their liberals, cannot have a minute of silence at the football.
game for Charlie Kurt.
All right.
Appreciate the phone call.
Thank you.
There was a vigil on campus for anyone that would go to it.
I mean, if people wanted to attend, the UK did have something.
You know, that's a sensitive topic.
Maybe it can be discussed on a different show.
Yeah, let's focus on how he wants Ozzy.
I'm okay with that.
Crazy Train, that's like one of those stadium songs, Shannon.
You know, you don't play a lot of Ozzy, but maybe throw in just that one crazy train song
when you mix it in between your rap songs.
Yeah, I'd be good with that.
The problem is trying to appeal to everybody.
You've got, you know, this person over here is not a fan of rap.
This person over here is.
So how do you make everybody happy?
The answer is you don't.
But you can mix it up a little bit.
And I don't know.
I wasn't at the game on Saturday, so I don't know what music was played.
But regardless of what you do, there's going to be somebody who's going to have a complaint about it.
But apparently the music was overall better.
It's improving.
I think every game has gotten better and better and better.
So we need to give a little tip of the cap.
Absolutely.
I mean, for ranking the atmospheres in the SEC,
see, still in that 15th range.
But, you know, we called them out after week one.
They got blown up by fans, not just us.
They didn't ignore it.
They're trying.
We've had some replays.
Oh, yes, somebody did bring that up on the postgame show.
Now there were some spots we wanted replay and didn't get them, but they're working them in.
Yes.
Not the controversial replays, but you did get a couple replays.
We're getting better. Got to compliment them.
All right.
We'll take our break.
Come back at Ozzie going here on Kentucky Sports Radio.
T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney.
Call T.J. He'll make them pay.
Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio
presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.
I don't care what you play
at Krogerfield, but you have to play this song.
This is something we've kind of got from.
You have to play it.
You can play Ozzy into this.
Why not?
And you don't have to just play it one time.
You can play this song throughout the game.
You don't have to hide it and just keep it till right going to the fourth quarter.
Play it.
It does get the people going.
Yeah.
Shannon's right. It's hard to please the whole crowd.
It's actually impossible to please the whole crowd.
Everybody's got different taste.
Gross street's the one.
Groh Street's the one that unifies the whole stadium.
Who's this segment sponsored by Shannon?
Cornbread Hemp. Go to cornbread hemp.com.
You caught me off guard. I didn't know you were going to go to me here.
Let's see.
Here it is. Summer is slowing down and that means harvest season is almost here.
Our friends at Cornbread Hemp will take care of you all year long with their plants.
They've been growing strong in Kentucky's sunlight and soil fed by the
the mineral-rich limestone rock bed of the bluegrass.
And now those plants are nearly ready to be turned into premium wellness products
that KSR listeners enjoy every day to help, to help them live life the good way, a good life.
This copy, by the way, is just atrocious.
I have to say, like, they've got numbers in the middle of it, and there's a seven or eight.
Oh, I've seen those.
Yeah, they've got numbers in your copy.
If you're looking for all natural rest, relief and relaxation, free of synthetics,
made right here in Kentucky, then head on over to
Cornbreadhemp.com.
Try their infused sultures, which are a big hit
with the KSR crew. We love them. They also got the
oils, the gummies, and more.
Plus, for first-time listeners, you can get
20% off your first order when you go
to cornbreadhemp.com and use the promo code
KSR. That's promo code KSR at
cornbreadhemp.com for 20% off your first order.
Cornbread hemp, this is the good life.
Great job, Shannon.
My court read earlier. Some of the sentences didn't have
spaces. That was kind of hard to
get through. It looks like one word. If I were to read this sentence exactly how it reads here,
it would say, then head over to cornbread 10 hemp.com, which is not even the website. It's
cornbread hemp.com to try their infused shelters, gummies, oils, 11, and more. Like, there's random
numbers in the copy. I don't know how they can't figure this out. We don't need letters when we're
trying to read it. It's very confusing. But yes, cornbreadhemp.com, promo code KSR.
We'll go back to the phone lines here in just a second, but we do have some more breaking news from
Drew, Shannon. Hit the breaking news,
button.
Running a nah,
nah.
Drew Franklin,
not just the NFL expert,
also high school football expert.
What are your breaking news?
Oh,
you want to reveal?
Yes.
Okay, well,
it's not out yet,
so this might get me in trouble.
But I got confirmation
that my maroons are included.
Yes, in the top 25.
Yes, the top 16, to be specific.
Where is Paduca Tilman in the top 16?
I didn't ask about Paducah Tilman.
I don't want to get my blood pressure up
and we still have 25 minutes to go.
But I can exhale knowing that we will
be included when it comes out at 12 o'clock check that out kutugosportradio.com
Zach Troy the whole the whole ksrr top 25 committee does a great job ranking well and i'm not a part
of it so when people get mad don't yell at me on the avies and glass text machine we got another
fan from another school not central is also undefeated as well never had a football tradition so
we've got a couple i'll clap for not you guys i will too good job good job well done 8592802
287 who we got shannon let's go to terry terry terry yeah guys uh first off
I don't know Mario like I know you guys, but I do know this.
He does not need to do the Mad Jones impression.
Thank you.
I compare it to Goober on Andy Griffith doing Kerry Grant.
It's just as bad.
Football-wise, this McGowan guy, he reminds me of a Georgia back.
How we got that dude, I do not know, but I hope he doesn't get hurt because that guy is something else.
and finally, I know a lot of people pointed to the Ole Miss game
is a key game for the season.
South Carolina is the one.
That is getable.
They are reeling.
They play Missouri this week.
They're going to get beat again because that's at Missouri.
So they're going to get coming in.
We've got to buy.
They're going to be coming in off a two-game losing streak,
and they're not really healthy.
If we get that, that gives us a two-game buffer there with this tough stretch we got coming up,
and I'll hang up and listen.
Thanks, yes.
All right, Terry, appreciate it.
Okay, Drom, I put this to you.
Mark Stoops, over the last 11 years, I think, is like 8 and 3 against South Carolina.
I think it's something like my 8 and 3 in the last 11 games.
But Mark Stoops is also not very good coming off a bi-week.
Where do you fall on this argument with going on for the next game then?
Oh, boy.
You're right about the bi-week thing.
I haven't even considered that yet.
We somehow don't seem as prepared for two weeks off.
I know, I don't get it.
A couple of week off.
That's been a recurring theme.
I'll agree with the caller, though.
They are, we're getting them at a good time.
Kentucky on the road, I mean, that's where they've been winning SEC games lately.
I mean, keep losing at home, but you had the Ole Miss win last year.
You broke your losing streak on the road at South Carolina years ago under Stoops.
I think they're going to be in it.
I don't think I'll predict a win.
I kind of got to see what Sellers is going on and what they do against Missouri.
But I'm not writing that game off as a complete loss.
Kentucky's defense took a step backward against Eastern Michigan.
I think that was kind of a one-off.
Brad White, they're going to have a rough couple weeks heading in South Carolina.
I think this Kentucky defense is going to keep them in a lot of games.
I think they're much better than what we saw, especially on the outside, some of the tackling here lately.
They'll clean that up.
I think the defense can be one of the better ones Stoops has had,
and that'll have them in outside of maybe the mega powers of the conference.
I think Kentucky will have a fight.
There was that run where Kentucky beats South Carolina like maybe six years in a row,
but they've lost the last two,
including getting embarrassed last year
at Kroger Field by South Carolina.
Yeah, and I didn't want to gloss over the first point of that call,
Seth McGowan.
Yes, we need to talk about him.
My goodness.
So I'm not, I'm not a football coach.
I played until...
You play an NFL expert.
I played until middle school, then I got hit.
And I was like, yeah, where's the golf clubs?
I like those better.
But I will say at the media practice we got to go to,
I was watching the running backs,
go through their cones and their bags,
just their drills.
And you could just see Seth McGowan was like angry just doing drills.
You know, guys are kind of getting loose, kind of dancing, music a little bit, high-fives.
He was running like he had an NFL contract at the other end of the drill.
And that carries over in the games.
I think it was Zach Calzada that said he runs like he's mad at the earth.
Mad at the girth.
I mean, he is putting that, Dowdell, too, who's banged up a little bit.
But he is a hard runner.
He has six touchdowns through three weeks.
I'm not saying he's going to set any records, but he leads the SEC.
and Benny has the record with 19 in a season, just simply by pace.
He's ahead of that pace and leading the conference now.
So he's been awesome.
And Dal Del, a little banged up of the thigh.
Stoop said that shouldn't be an issue moving forward.
But that's a great one-two punch.
They went and got in the transfer portal.
And then you get a chance for Patterson to actually get some touch in the second half.
And he looked good.
He had like 12, 13 carries on Saturday.
You hate Dalell going down.
Good thing that's not going to be lingering.
But it gave us an opportunity to see Patterson, 80 yards.
got his first career touchdown, average, I think over six yards of carry.
He looked really good, I thought.
And McGowan got here to finish up that call there.
Jay Bullware, a running back coach, I believe recruited him to Oklahoma.
Like, he was recruited to Oklahoma to be a star, and then he had his off-the-field issues,
long road back to get another shot.
But that's how he ended up here.
I mean, he's an NFL talent that kind of, due to circumstances, Kentucky ended up getting him
on the back end of his college career.
And I think we need to also complement our offensive line.
I mean, there's one reason this running game is working so well, the offensive line, once again, plays off just five guys, but they get the job done.
Please keep them healthy.
I'm a little surprised.
We're not getting in some second stringers and some younger guys to at least get hit because you're going to need them eventually.
It's been mostly, I haven't seen the snap count from Saturday, but the first two weeks, it was all starters taking every snap.
Nobody else played the starters.
Stay healthy, but at least the front five.
Those were the ones that took all the money and the NIL this season as they tried to rebuild that wall.
They're living up to it so far.
They just have been dominating.
You can see the push they get off the offensive line.
Of course, that helps your running backs.
I'm not taking anything away from the running backs,
but the offensive line is definitely need to be complimented
for what they've been doing.
Definitely.
I mean, we're all excited about Bowley,
but this is a team that's still going to run the ball.
And I think they're in good shape with McGowan, Dowdell,
and then Patterson with a little surprise debut on Saturday.
So we got a Navy's a Glass Tech Machine.
When do we know when the game time will be announced for UK, South Carolina?
That should be soon.
I should know the exact time because I do that for a living.
But we'll get that today, I think.
Breaking news from some source down in Gary and Orlando down in Florida.
Florida's mascot Albert the Gators reportedly entering the transfer portal
because things are not good down in Florida.
I'm a little mad about Florida being so bad.
My kind of...
That was your pick.
My hot take was we're going to beat Florida and the DJ Lagway is going to stink.
He does stink.
What do you throw four to interceptions?
Five interceptions.
I mean, I like...
I like being right about Florida.
I made one bet, futures bet.
It was the Florida under on wins because it was seven and a half.
I don't think Florida is going to be that good.
And here we are.
They're already crumbling down there and we're not even halfway through September yet.
And I saw their schedule.
They go to Miami, I think, this week.
And then they've got Tennessee, Georgia.
I mean, they've got some tough games.
We get them in November.
We haven't had that since like the 80s.
Well, Billy Napier would be the coach when we play Florida in November.
Could be his last game.
Well, he kind of saved his job last month.
He kind of saved his job last.
year when he came up here and won last year.
I think he was, if they'd lost that game, I think he might have been ousted then.
Yeah, he's been on the hot seat a while.
Remember his comment last year about people in their basement, whatever, being critical.
Yeah.
I don't know that he's got, I would, if I were him, I would already have the moving truck outside my driveway
loading things up because I just don't see this getting any better with him there.
We do want to give a shout out.
The UK volleyball team got the KSR bump this weekend.
After we had Brooklyn Delay and Molly Tuzzo on the show Friday, they go out and beat SMU, a top
10 team and then they beat Houston yesterday. So I got two wins over the weekend. Get the KSR bump a little bit.
Yeah. Third, SMUs ranked 10th. I got that win and then swept Houston yesterday. So a nice
unbeaten weekend. And this gives me the opportunity to do to say something I need to get off my chest.
It's also for you too. No, we owe Craig Skinner an apology. Because? Big win. Yeah.
At the football game, a friend of ours pulled me aside and he's like, hey, kind of got you
know a little blunder you made. And I'm like, oh man, what's up? What do? When we did our top five
moments since COVID, no one had
the only national championship at
Kentucky. We didn't list volleyball.
I think Matt made them honorable mention.
They won a national championship.
They deserve to be in the top five.
So we can't go back and redo that segment,
but Craig Skinner,
sincere apologies here. We dropped the
ball there. A national champion
didn't crack our top five last week.
So sorry about that. Keep having a good
season going. Did the National
Championship, I think, supersedes the baseball
team going to the college world series? Because when you're
volleyball team. You won the national
title. Honestly, it should be number one.
It precedes a regular season basketball win.
Yeah. We dropped the ball there.
So sorry, Craig's Canner. They play
Louisville this week. And there's going to be a bus.
If you want to ride the fan bus, like the old school fan bus
from Lexington to Louisville for the Louisville volleyball volleyball
game, contact the UK volleyball office.
What I've been told to say, and they can get you the tickets, whatever they're
going to do to get to the other. They're trying to get a good
crowd of Kentucky fans. They're playing at the Yom Center too, right?
Thursday at 6. ESPNU if you can't make it. But if you're able, get in there. Let's get some blue in the Yom Center.
We'll take our final break. Come back. Our final segment, 859-2802-287. Ryan,
and Shannon and Mario somewhere. We'll be right back. This is at Kentucky Sports Radio.

So did they play this one?
This is one that gets a lot of pushback.
I just know it Noah Con last night.
He was taking request.
I must have yelled Dumas Walker 30 times.
If anyone heard someone yelling Dumas Walker last night.
That was me.
It was Drew.
So this song and Cotton Eye Joe, those are the two, I think,
they get the most pushback.
But we seem to play it at least once a game.
I don't want to eliminate the Kentucky headhunters
because they're, well, the Kentucky headhunters
and they're really cool guys.
But if it gets played too much,
you can still play it once every couple of games.
You don't want to play it every single game.
Dumas Walker's the celebration song.
They play it as you're heading to the car.
They don't play it during the game.
That's good.
They do it both sports.
I don't know how that came to be,
but it's been like that a while.
Yeah.
My brain actually expects to hear
let's all go as like players are leaving
the court or field.
See, I think after the game, it's okay.
I don't know why anybody would get mad if it's after the game.
A lot of people have already left by them probably anyway.
Let me tell you about Clark's Puppet Shop.
Don't commit a party file.
Get tailgate ready at Clark's Pumpet Shop.
They have everything you need for your tailgate
or a home watch party.
Download the Clark's Reward app.
Now this is the play.
You don't download the app because then you get discounts on gas.
step-to-date on Clark's in-store specials, receive mobile coupons, get free stuff.
That's what I do.
I get the app and just get the gas points for sure.
So Clark's Puppet Shop, they got locations all across the Lexington area.
Most of the locations have drive-through, so you don't have to leave your car to go get snacks and drinks and stuff.
They are local folks giving back to the community, sponsoring local sports teams, non-profits,
and of course, the blue and white shop shop shop shop shop, shop, returned, refresh, refuel.
We had a great time out there Friday at our remote show out there.
There was a lot going on on Friday, Shannon.
Oh, yeah.
I mean, we got Mario doing Matt Jones impersonation.
We got Big Brian taking his shirt off.
We've got Gary calling in and crying.
We got Freebird trying to force these deviled eggs down us.
Well, no, no, no.
Those were good deviled eggs.
They were really good.
I do appreciate him bringing those out.
There was a lot going on at that show.
The volleyball ladies were there.
They were good.
They were really good.
They were really good.
So appreciate everybody who came out and then talk to us.
And then Molly had a huge weekend.
Well, they both did.
They won.
but she had a huge, I think a Saturday, I believe.
Again, the KSR bump.
It's not something bad anymore.
It's something good.
Heck, yeah.
Like the KSR parlay that would have hit if Shannon would have picked the right game.
All right, let's go back to the phone lines.
859-2-8-7.
Who we got, Shannon?
We're not letting you pick this week.
Logan.
Logan, go ahead, Logan.
The game's into the season now.
Before the season started, I had a three and nine record.
I wasn't feeling real good about the team.
But after watching these three games, I feel like the,
offensive line has improved dramatically.
The defense looks solid.
So if you guys were, and then, you know, you look at Florida and South Carolina,
maybe being a little more vulnerable than what I thought.
So if you could go back and give your records, what are you,
you want to reevaluate?
Are you going to stick with what you had?
Good, good question.
Let's do that.
Let's reevaluate right now after the first three games.
Shannon had him at six and six.
He's the one that picked him and to go to a bowl game,
Shannon. Do you reevaluate after that?
No. You still feel good about it.
I still feel like this is a bowl eligible team.
I'm still going with six and six.
You want to change yours?
You already have changed yours.
I've already changed it once.
From four and eight to five and seven to six and six,
you're probably ready to go seven and five now.
You know, the Florida game is obviously a winnable game,
where I thought the Auburn game may be winnable.
There may be better than I thought.
You think that Vandy game's a winnable game now?
I think Vandy is going to be a tough.
for the game than I thought.
I would like to think 5 and 7 though is still on the table.
What about you, Drew?
Don't make me do it.
I'm going to bring mine down a little bit.
You're going to maybe be negative at the end of the show?
No, no.
I'm just thinking that was a good win.
Bowley was exciting.
But Eastern Michigan was 0 and 2.
They lost to an FCS school at home last week,
and they outgauge in the first half.
Now, I just said earlier, I'm high on the defense and we'll throw that game away.
but I still
it didn't give me a lot of optimism
that Eastern Michigan played them the way they did
when Eastern Michigan got absolutely killed in their first two games
they gave up 52 points to Texas State
South Texas North Texas
Texas State yeah and then lost to Long Island
so while I am excited about Bowley
I have a little bit of concerns about the overall operation
I haven't forgotten the safety I haven't forgotten the third and eight
fake pitch draw I haven't forgotten
gotten about the end of the half the last two weeks.
So I have concerns about overall.
And then like you said, Auburn looks better than I thought.
Yeah.
Florida's right where they were.
I have them beating Florida.
But I had them winning in Nashville beating Vandy.
At this moment, that's the one I would probably erase.
So I'm coming down one game.
I'll say the Vandy game has changed my mind.
I still think they can beat Louisville.
That would be my fifth win going to that game.
But again, I think they will be in most games.
Yeah.
It's honestly the operation and the coach.
and why are we burning timeouts?
And it's still early the season.
They can fix that.
But that has pulled down my optimism just a little bit.
Let's get another caller, Shannon.
Who we got?
Randy.
Randy. Go ahead, Randy.
Randy.
Randy, are you there?
You scared him off.
I scared Randy.
That's it for the callers then.
This is the A-V-V-Eglass text machine.
I love some Grove Street.
But when they play it when we're down 21 points, it really ticks me off.
It is not a damn party when you're getting your butt kicked in.
Your teeth kicked in.
What do they play then?
And they just start playing like love hurts and all the sad songs you can think of.
Yeah, maybe so.
Yeah.
I guess that's what I said.
Why not play it early in the game?
Why not get everybody excited early?
Play it.
Don't save it in your back pocket.
Go ahead and play it.
I think they could be a little more situational with their music.
I think sometimes there's a script and we're just going by the script.
They definitely go by the script.
But you might need to, as you know, oh, we're down three touchdowns.
Maybe let's hit a different button.
See what we can maybe find something else.
So, all right.
Again, tomorrow will be live at KS Bar.
with Jeff Goodman and Rob Doster, the field of 68 guys.
I think it's going to be a great show.
Talk a little basketball tomorrow with those guys.
Yeah, and since I'm hosting, sorry to the caller earlier,
but Mario's coming back on to be Matt.
That is going to be a bit every day that I'm getting reps as the host.
So get ready for that too.
Mario will ask us our percentage chance of things and things like that.
Wednesday we got Lee K. Howard on Wingsday at K.S. Barr,
so come on out.
Thursday, we're live in Mount Vernon.
But, of course, Thursday night, NFL.
Who's playing on Thursday night this week?
Do we know yet?
It's a big Thursday night.
I need to check my email from.
Raj. I've still been on
week two. So we had a great crowd last
Thursday night and then Friday we're at Wild Eggs
and Tatech Creek. So a big week coming
on our shows. We'll have a special guest
in the next couple weeks while Matt is gone. Matt has arrived
safely in South Africa and he's doing well.
So hold your breath.
See you tomorrow tomorrow. See tomorrow. Goodbye.
Another podcast from some
SNL late night comedy guy. Not
quite. Unhumored me with Robert Smygel
and friends. Me and hilarious
guests from Bob Odenkirk to David
Letterman helped make you
funnier. This week, my guest, S&L's Mikey Day and headwriter, Streeter Seidel, help an
a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some
retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and
friends on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's
telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo.
In every episode, we're cutting through the noise,
breaking down the biggest moments in sports
and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves,
their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment,
and the stuff nobody gets to hear.

What's up, guys? This is Clever Taylor the 4th.
And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show,
I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker walks up to me, he goes,
hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Quarterback on office blue 42.
Hey, rep, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Where's she at?
Hey, Miss Parker.

I'm Joey Dardano.
And on my new podcast, Hope From a Hypocrite,
I'll be changing lives,
helping people in need with thoughtful solutions.
Sike, I'm a comedian.
I'm not qualified to give good advice.
Join me and my comedian friends
as we riff, rant,
and recommend some of the most legally dubious advice
known to me.
This is Help from a Hypocrite,
the worst advice from the dumbest people you know.
