You just understood.
That's how personal it got.
Wow.

This was just playoffs.
This was just basketball.

city these two are having their 31st wedding anniversary today nice happy anniversary happy anniversary
Happy anniversary.
He told me he's a UCLA fan but still likes the show so much it makes him listen to it and watch Kentucky, which is very nice.
Well, I tell me we know we're doing our job.
We get a fan from another school, listen to our show, we're doing the right thing.
Yes, I knew he was going to say that.
That's his go-to line.
I'm going to tell you, Drew, getting some cryptic texts on London.
Oh, some spicy stuff?
Oh, one person writes, Matt, I'd be very careful talking about the London thing on the
radio next thing you know you'll be pulled off the radio
that powerful just in London or everywhere
apparently all over the planet like I don't Madisonville would pull us off
that would be amazing one person writes Matt don't start digging on London it goes
deeper than anybody can imagine we got to start digging
wow how deeper we talk it let's find out the thing is on
On Friday, not, not tomorrow.
So we'll be at Country Boy, unfortunately.
Maybe we'll send Mario to report live on the scene.
Correspondent.
Our correspondent live from the London City Council.
I don't know.
We need Mario to capture this big pep talk.
He can't be in two places at once.
That's exactly right.
8-9-280-2287.
I'll go to the phone here in just a second.
A couple other things in college football.
Arch Manning.
Boy.
Yikes.
Why'd that happen?
I thought he was good.
You know, that game was on the same time as the Kentucky game,
so I had the split screen going trying to watch it.
Kept waiting for him to have that moment, have that moment.
It just didn't happen for him.
He didn't do anything.
No.
Like he was, it was, I mean, if his name was Arch Jones, I would have said,
hey, do you have a backup you can go to?
He almost got skunked.
Yeah.
I scored late.
Yeah.
I mean, there was a chance that he's wildly overrated,
but I didn't think he looked that bad in that game.
I know it's on the road in the horseshoe,
but he did not look like a guy that's leading the number one team.
Are you saying that he's not, didn't look like what Paul Feinbaum when he said,
he's going to be the best quarterback in the SEC since Tim Tebow?
Are you saying that maybe that was a little much?
I think it's a bit far-fetched.
I'll give Jordan Rogers credit.
He's been pulling arch down from a little bit anytime he gets to say something.
He's like, why is everyone acting this way?
There's nothing on tape that suggests he's going to be this big Heisman candidate.
Dan Orlovsky said the best quarterback prospect in a generation.
And like Drew's it, what are they basing it on?
He had a couple running plays last year.
He didn't play a whole lot last year.
I don't know.
Well, it was not the debut you would have hoped for.
No, it wasn't.
Grandpa said a few weeks ago, they were talking about him being the number one pick,
and he's like, oh, Arch will be at Texas next year.
That's because he knew he wasn't good.
People thought it meant that, you know, he's just going to ride out, make a little more money,
he doesn't want to go to a certain team.
No, I think Grandpa just doesn't see the potential.
Grandpa's like, look, I've seen good players.
My grandson is not one of them.
Leave him alone.
He was honest.
Yeah.
Lee Corso said goodbye.
Most watched college game day in history.
The segment with him on at 5.1 million people, largest segment in the history of college game day.
It was a very nice farewell to Lee Corso, I thought.
It was awesome.
And the dude went out shooting his gun.
He picked Florida State or Alabama, picked Ohio State.
No wait a minute.
This is how good he was.
They made six picks while he was on the air.
He got all six right.
If you parlayed his six picks, it was 187 to 1.
My goodness.
He picked them all.
He picked Florida State over Alabama.
He's the only one to pick Florida State.
He picked them all.
And every team he was associated with, either as a coach, a player, or an assistant coach.
Every one of them, they all won, yes, they all won Saturday.
Indiana, Louisville.
I mean, that is kind of cool.
Especially, you know, including Florida State having to beat Alabama.
I saw some people tweet after he made his Florida State pick.
It's fitting that Corsos going out with his worst pick of all time
because the game hadn't played yet.
They got the win for him.
187 to 1.
Very fitting.
I didn't see this, but did Fox cut to it?
I saw people talking about that.
That was very cool.
Fox decided, asked permission, and ESPN gave him permission,
and that was very cool.
Fox showed the last pick.
I think that's awesome.
Like, that's a very cool.
They played it on the stadium at Ohio State,
like on the big screen, the band spelled out his name.
Like, that's, you know, it's good to put things behind sometimes and just say, hey, let's celebrate this moment.
I thought that was cool.
Could have scripted a better ending.
Yeah, you know, he's such a great ambassador for college football.
They should celebrate a situation like that when he steps away.
Herbstry got a little misty eye to look like too right there at the end.
Why wouldn't you?
Yeah.
Wait a minute.
You're already leaving?
Couples massage.
A couples massage.
Walk.
Oh, right.
I'm going with them.
Wait a minute.
I can go.
I don't think they want you.
Uh, couples massage.
Joy.
Wow.
Pouca pal-paw.
Uh, who knew?
I didn't see that coming.
I just like, they're going to get a sandwich.
I didn't think they were going to get a couples massage.
Rick, you ever had a couples massage?
Never had a couples massage.
Okay, well, you need to probably need to get on there.
All right.
I'll go on with you, Rick.
Alabama.
Doesn't just lose, gets destroyed.
I mean, like, dominated throughout the game.
did not look like an Alabama I've seen in 20 years.
I mean, Florida State was 2 and 10 last year.
One of the more surprising results that you could possibly have.
Yeah, Florida had that awful year last year,
and their new quarterback called the shot.
He transferred from Boston College and called out Alabama.
I said, you know, we're going to do it,
and they went out and got it done, and now he just beat him, beat him bad.
A lot of people figured he wouldn't be able to fill those big shoes,
but, I mean, it's been a year and a week.
fans are already talking buyout and who's next and we'll sayban come back he has not lasted
very well there at all i don't listen to pa fine bob but i did turn on the first 45 minutes yesterday
and there was a lot of pao and like people just like being losing their mind being furious and i
really enjoyed it i'm not i sat there and they were just screaming hey dad right right we got
five 70 million like just yelling and it was uh it was kind of brilliant and the music
City Bowl. I know there's a lot of football left, but that's the new projection. Could you imagine
Alabama fans in Nashville? They still have to play Georgia, South Carolina, Auburn, Oklahoma,
LSU. Like, they still have a lot of tough games. And Vandy, who beat them last year. They still
have a lot of. Wouldn't that be something? I mean, it's kind of amazing. I was shocked. I mean,
I didn't think Alabama wouldn't even lose that game, but to get beat them as badly as they did,
they've got some issues obviously going on, especially on defense.
more excited than I want to admit to watch Bill Belichick last night.
I think it was just because I was hoping to see the whole I wanted to see was Jordan
on the sideline? Was she going to be have a headset on? I wanted to see was he going to be
as grumpy? The game was everything I could have hoped for through the first drive.
They come out, score seven points, just run, like fly down the field and you're like,
oh, this is on. Michael Jordan's in the crowd. Lawrence Taylor, right, Roy Williams.
me a ham i mean north kron is a lot of pretty amazing athletes and then from then on they're just
atrocious kirk herb street gets caught in the in the break on a hot mic saying they stink
um not the best for old for for bill and the hoodie great entertainment though if you don't
care what happens i mean the internet was on fire i saw a tweet said 41 to 7 that was bill
in Jordan's age a couple decades ago.
I mean, at one point, they're down so bad.
Kirk literally left the broadcast and put the headset on his dog.
We had a golden retriever calling a nationally televised game.
The football was so bad.
Yeah.
I kind of want him to succeed, even though I hated him with the Patriots,
just because I think this whole thing has been so entertaining.
You know, are they going to win any games this year?
I was guilty of being excited at that first drive.
They made it look so easy.
Bill Jek's going to be a genius.
This is going to work at North Carolina, and then it just completely fell apart.
It does make you wonder if we had hired Bill Parcells.
Is that what happens?
That could have very easily been in us.
What do you think about Jordan had his big, had her Bill's ring on?
It wasn't her Super Bowl ring.
It wasn't her huge.
She was a cheerleader on a national championship cheerleading team.
It was her chairleading.
That was a D3 cheerleading national title room.
That was the size of a D3 softball.
That thing was huge.
I thought she had on the Super Bowl room.
not realize D3 rings for cheerleading were that big. I agree with you. I was like,
that has to be her Super Bowl ring. Turns out it was her D3 cheerleading ring. I think it might be
a long year. You know, nothing against his son, but did you see just his look? He has like this weird
like shaved head ponytail situation going on, sticking his tongue out. This is why I tell you,
sons of successful people, don't ever let them run anything. They always screw it up. Well, I was already
on the under. I've never been more confident
than that team imploding as this year goes on.
Yeah. All right. Who's up next, Rick?
Got Dennis up next.
Dennis. Go ahead, Dennis.
Hey, I know I'm going to wrestle
ruffle some feathers with this comment, but
actually I got
one comment. Go.
A fan base upset about the
atmosphere that wants to play
my old Kentucky home 10 minutes
before the game starts.
That's kind of, you know, I love my old Kentucky home,
but I've always said that song belongs at the end of a football game
at the beginning of it.
I've got to tell you, I kind of agree with you on that.
I kind of, I love my old Kentucky home,
but my old Kentucky home right before the game starts is a buzzkill.
It just is.
Play it after the game.
It is like, I mean, you know, I love the song,
go rest high on that mountain.
I don't want them to play it at halftime of the game.
Like there are beautiful songs that maybe shouldn't be
in a certain form of the game.
You'll never leave Harlan alive.
I kind of like in the right circumstance with the lights down part of it.
But like when we're playing it as our pump-up song in the third quarter instead
of Groves, I just, I'm with you, sir.
Just I don't know if that's what we want.
Right.
My only problem with Grove Street is like last year, for example, we'd be going into the fourth
quarter and they'd be playing that song and we'd be down.
we'd be losing.
I'm like, how is it a party if we're losing that?
Well, but you-
That's my only problem.
It's fair enough.
I appreciate the call.
But if you're going to have a, this is when we play the song, then we have to play it even
if we're down 30.
Like you still have to, you know, this is when we do it.
We still have to do it.
It does feel like sometimes there's a script and whoever's in charge gets there and hits
play and there's no fluid.
Like maybe in this moment we should do something different because we're down or we're up or
we need a stop.
It's just kind of like to have the playlist and they hit play.
I've said this for a day.
It remains true. It'll always be true. They should let Shannon the dude do it. If Shannon the dude did it, he would be awesome. He is the best I've ever seen at picking the song based on what we've said. Can you imagine if Shannon was picking the song based in the emotion? He'd be the best. And it's, I mean, like, it's right there for him. He'd be good at it. I don't know. But even if it's not him, they got to do something. This is terrible. And I actually, whoever it is that plays the music, I actually
don't blame them. I am sure they're getting direction for people upstairs about what they can do.
I'm sure they are. I guarantee it's scripted. Like Drew said, they have exactly, they know exactly
what they're playing at first quarter break, half time, third quarter break. It is definitely scripted.
Yeah. Who's next? Bill is up next. Bill, go ahead, Bill.
Yeah, Shannon can't do the music at Kroger Field. He takes a me a vacation.
He would skip the Alabama game. Yeah, that's what. I want to, I kind of want to be, I want to be more.
positive and a couple things. One, I think the offensive stuff is correctable. I hope it is
anyway. And if you remember, our back to back to back turnovers, our defense was on the field.
Those were within the first series. So that means our defense was on the field forever.
But then at the end of that last series, they held a fourth down stop. So I think we're going to be
all right. And last thing I'm going to say is Lane Kippen will eventually be a Hall of Famer.
A Hall of Famer at punching down. He might be motivated.
to hang 60 on us, but my coach is motivated her.
All right.
So let's go out there and let's wolf Ole Miss's ass because I'm tired of this.
859-280-2287.
I'd love to beat them.
What percentage chance do you give of us beating Ole Miss Saturday?
Well, I'll note that the last four meetings were all decided by a field goal or less,
including one overtime.
The last four meetings combined, I think it's like a 10-point differential.
So it won't shock me if it comes down to the very end, like,
four plays have decided this rivalry.
So I'll say I'll give Kentucky a decent chance.
I'll say 37.5.
37.5, okay, what about you?
Drew's right.
I mean, for whatever reason, Mark Stoop seems to do very well
against Lane Kiff and coach teams at Ole Miss.
So I'm going to say I'll even go 40% chance to win the game.
He guys are a little high.
23.6 is the official definitive amount of chance we have.
We'll pay if we're late.
You've heard me talk about estate renovations in Kentucky.

Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase
that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,
because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth,
or are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

What's up, fam?
It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows.
Without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted.
this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like
Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has to give us everything he gives us
on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nash will get that thing. That man, hell get the
flying. He running up the court, licking his fingers why he got the bar like, you go through a
training camp with that, Isaiah. You figure it out real quick. Get your ass up and down the
court and you're going to get the ball.

Welcome back, Tucky Sports Radio, 859280, 2287 here at the KS Bar and Grill.
Remember, we've got everything ready to rock here for lunch, but also for lunch.
life. Well, that's great. That's good.
It should be that way.
One person writes, Matt, I have to tell you, I think it's ridiculous.
You all think the kind of music played at a football game matters.
It does matter. It matters for atmosphere.
It matters just for entertainment.
It matters for making people want to go to the game.
And if they want to go to the game, they're more likely to get to cry.
All that stuff matters.
We can't act like this is 1973 anymore.
People have a lot of options.
They have a lot of stuff.
can do, you've got to make it to where they want to be here.
It's not just a given that they're going to come, and I think that's kind of what I'm getting
at.
The music is important, but not just the music.
Like, there's downtime where people are just looking at each other.
Fans need a little bit of instruction and direction.
Whether you're starting to chant or giving them something to do, you have to keep that energy
moving.
And on Saturday, it'd be a moment you could look around.
It's like, okay, we just met the science team or whoever it was.
And it's like, people are just looking at each other because maybe it's a review.
or a commercial, regardless, you've got to be doing something to keep it active.
I would assume that dude has never been to a game at Georgia, Tennessee, at South Carolina,
at Florida.
Go to one of those games and see what the stadium's like and the atmosphere's like.
Then you realize how far behind Kentucky really is.
We just are.
And acting like we're not, it affects – I think it affects everything.
It affects recruiting.
It just affects everything.
Like, it affects the vibe matters.
It really does.
Part of the reason we renovated this place is vibe matters.
It was kind of feeling dreary.
We're like, let's renovate it.
You can't take stuff for granted anymore.
You can't just say, well, you know, we're UK.
People will do it.
You've got to say, I got to make them want to do it.
And, you know, and then the other thing is, I believe that about Rupp Arena.
But at least at UK basketball, we have a history of winning.
All these things are 50 times more important when you don't have a history of winning.
Yeah, I mean, we can't
We can't rely on the mascots
One-Arm push-ups and the things we've been doing for 30 years
I mean, that's nice, that's cool
I can't do one-arm push-ups, good for him
But that's not, you can't do that for 100 years
Like this last game, I feel like there were moments
It felt like we went back in time
Like there was nothing for the fan experience
That was any different than it had been
But it kind of goes along with how we've seen this whole spring
The football team's kind of been quiet
You know, no noise coming from the football office
All spring, all summer
Going into the football game
Like they're not even ready for the first
the first home game, it seems like. I don't know what's going on.
Some good news. KSR Parley, 1 and 0.
Yeah. Eat it.
So now, you know, now we can lose seven straight weeks and still be ahead because it paid off 8 to 1.
Ohio State won. Tulane beat Northwestern.
Tulsa beat Abilene Christian, which was the one I had, and then LSU won, which Shannon had.
So what a victory were 1 and 0 getting started.
A lot of people probably didn't want to play it because they're like, oh, they lose.
Well, we didn't lose this time.
It sounds like they lost if they didn't bet it.
Like you said, big bankroll.
Not that we want to lose more, not that we will more.
But if we did, we already have enough in the bank.
Wouldn't even affect us.
That's right.
I got excited too, and they kept going to Josh Caddus.
I said, he may get this.
He may hit the two touchdown bet we talked about on the pregame show.
They kept going to him, kept going to him, even close to the go line.
I went to him a couple times.
He did the most targets, but it was exciting to hit the parlay.
The Caddus bet was an extra long shot.
UK volleyball, almost beat Nebraska.
Now, almost doesn't do anything, but they did almost beat Nebraska.
I mean, they were up two sets to nothing, even got a lead in the third set,
were not able to take it.
Let me just say, I was in Nashville on Sunday,
and I forgot that game was there.
And all of a sudden, I look up.
Let me tell you some.
Tucky basketball, our fan base maybe travels better than everybody.
but the Nebraska volleyball fan base might have something to say about it.
I could not believe how many Nebraska volleyball fans were everywhere.
It wasn't like Kentucky basketball SEC tournament,
but it was better than every other team that goes to the SEC tournament and basketball.
I'm not kidding you.
There had to be 10,000 Nebraska fans walking around.
I could not believe for volleyball.
I could not believe it, Drew.
They were everywhere.
I watched it on TV from the beginning and seconds into the match.
It was like, oh, no, we are very outnumbered.
I mean, there was a little bit of blue sprinkled in there,
but that Bridgestone arena was full of Nebraska fans.
I saw a few Kentucky fans, but it was nothing compared to the corn everywhere.
I mean, I, but with that said, Kentucky women played them, you know, down the straight.
Nebraska's number one team in the country.
Tucky probably should have won.
They play the number two team in the country this weekend,
so they're definitely getting a test.
And I think they actually came in number eight
and got moved up to number five, even though they lost.
Yeah, if Nebraska is the elite of the league, Kentucky took them toe to toe.
I thought it looked like we were going to sweep them there.
End up getting the reverse sweep, but I thought for a second there,
Kentucky's going to sweep the number one team in the country.
It stunk losing, but that was just an exciting match overall.
I mean, even on the two sets, Kentucky won.
They went down early and came back to win them.
Stinks losing three in a row to lose it,
but that was just a thrilling Sunday afternoon
watching volleyball as before NFL starts in that spot next week.
Well, I still don't have respect for Nebraska as a state
and as a place I would ever want to go,
but in terms of as a fan base,
their volleyball fan base has gained respect for me
as an entity that actually can do stuff.
I thought they might have a slight edge on the crowd, though.
They had a football game on Thursday,
and our fans were still hung over from Saturday,
So they were able to make a long weekend out of it.
That's a very short trip for us.
That's a long trip for them.
I mean, that's not close, and they were there.
Who's next?
Dustin is next.
Dustin, go ahead, Dustin.
Thanks for having me on.
Unfortunately, we can't do it because of his contract,
but it's just time to shake Mark Stoop's hand
and just say, hey, thank you for all you've done.
As a fan, I can no longer put up with his in-up offense.
I turned it off after we get up the safety on Saturday.
I will no longer schedule my weekends around watching Kentucky football play.
I could care less.
I understand that's not the same, but I'm giving the right amount of not caring.
I've watching his football teams play.
I think that's not.
I mean, why would it be the safety that made?
I mean, the safety was terrible.
But you really, like, have watched Kentucky football your whole life,
and you're going to stop because of a safety in a game we went ahead and won?
It's just the same old thing, Matt.
It's rinse and repeat.
it's offense this, offense that.
We're going to slow the ball down.
We've got a quarterback that can't hit the bright side of the barn.
We've had two years in his tenure where we've had a decent offense.
Will Levis, Juan Dale Robinson, and Magic with Lynn Bowden.
Yeah, that's not fair, though.
You know, you know, we had, do you know how many yards Terry Wilson through for?
It wasn't many, but it was a lot.
It was more than you think.
It was over 3,000 yards.
I'm just saying, like, it's easy to sit there and act like we've always been terrible in the stoop's era.
It's just not true.
We won 10 games.
Like, that's, we had won 10 games.
We've won 10 games like twice in history besides that.
But this year, there's something to be left, you know, to say it.
We'll take a break.
Be right back.

I do want to note
For those of you
they're kind of football junkies.
He's been doing this for a long time,
but now he's on the football podcast,
and I ended up watching a lot of them
Sunday and Monday. Van Stiles,
former player,
does on Twitter,
these little videos where he breaks down
what's happening on plays.
I find them very informative.
He basically shows you a play,
and you might think this person screwed up,
and he actually showed you why it was this person over here.
He kind of is able to say,
Like, for instance, he showed one play where it looked like Kausata made a bad throw,
and he showed it, and he said, no, the reason this didn't work is the receiver is supposed to protect Kousa by sealing him off,
and he doesn't, and that makes it to where.
So things that maybe I wouldn't be able to see, I'm sure guys who know football better than me would,
but Drew, I found it very helpful, and he put out a ton of videos from the Toledo game,
If you search Van Stiles, S-T-Y-L-E-E-S.
Hiles, I'm sorry.
But it's Stiles on Twitter.
It's V-Stiles 17, I think.
There you go.
Yeah.
His name is Van Hiles, though.
V-style 17, I'm pretty sure.
I knew it said Van Stiles.
V-style 17, you'll be able to say.
Yes, that is it.
He's been putting those out for a while.
He's a great follow, and then when Max went back to Australia,
we just kind of stole Van for the KSR football podcast.
We've been enjoying him on there, too,
but, you know, he's a draft pick, went to your bears,
played for UK on some good teams in the 90s
and knows about as well as anyone.
And where he cuts, he calls him cut-ups.
He does a great job explaining individual plays.
And if you watch it,
my initial inclination, which was feel really good about our defensive line,
be very worried about our receivers.
That's kind of his, it seems, as well after he watched it.
He was very down on some of the stuff with the receivers yesterday.
I like him because he's honest.
Some guys that play, you know, won't get too critical.
They're going to want their tickets when they come in for a game every once while.
Now, if he sees something he doesn't like, he'll be brutally honest with you.
Now, he's not over the top with it.
He's being honest, but he shares exactly what he thinks.
good and bad.
He's gotten a really good following.
He's been doing this for years, like these cutups and breaking down after every game,
and people kind of have finally found him and get to enjoy what he does
because he knows a lot more football than we all do,
so it's kind of interesting to see his perspective of things.
Totally is.
Who's up next?
Ed is up next.
Ed, go ahead, Ed.
Hey, guys.
I was reading the other day that Kentucky's defense graded higher than any team in the nation
for that day, and I think that's pretty good.
Well, he's talking about pressure on the quarterback.
That was, I think, the stat where it was true.
91 point something.
Yeah, 91 point something.
There you go.
Yep, pretty good.
All right.
Appreciate the call.
They're telling me, Rick, people are telling me we're still not on the air in Lexington.
Do you know that?
I don't know that.
Okay.
If we are on the air in Lexington, someone text me and say yes.
don't know, or maybe they're still just hearing the Blink 182 song.
What was your thought process, Rick, between, but going to the Blink 182 song right there?
Well, it's save my hide, but I like that you use the word hide.
Hide is a good word.
Who's next?
Okay.
I got Freebird up next.
Freebird, go ahead.
Hey, guys, that one guy must have wanted air supply to play football games.
My gosh, but I have two questions.
First of all, educated guests on how much Lee Corso's parlay would have won on drag king.
It was 187 to 1.
If you bet Corso's picks that he hit, I think it was 187 to 1.
Oh, my gosh.
And has there ever been a more entertaining KSR show after the first full weekend of college football?
Because, dude, this show is ranked 10 out of 10, guys.
It's fantastic.
Well, thank you very much.
I appreciate that.
I've tried to make it.
You know, we had a whole day off to get ready.
Speaking of a whole day's off, I'm just going to go ahead and tell you,
today's my neighborhood meeting about the parking.
Oh, yeah.
They're bringing in a city council member, okay?
They appreciate the call.
They're bringing a city council member.
They're bringing in the head of parking for Lexington.
And they created an email group of all the,
people on the street. The email group has been very fiery. Okay. People have been writing. There's a woman.
Her name is Wanda. Don't mess with Wanda. That's all I'm going to say to you. She gets worked up and they've
been saying we have some things to say to get off our chest. So normally I'm anti all community
meetings. I don't want to be involved. My name's Bennett. I'm not in it. But when it comes to
today I am going to be in it. I'm going to the meeting. Nice. And I'm very much looking forward to it.
We get to express our thoughts because this weekend was awesome. Yesterday I nearly called in the
National Guard, okay? I'm pretty anti-Trump, but if he brought in the National Guard to my
street yesterday, I might have actually cheered it on. What did they do for the holiday weekend?
That park is way too crowded. I don't know where all these kids are coming from. I don't know where
they're finding all these children, but they're everywhere, and they're loud.
It actually doesn't, the park doesn't even bother me, but the parking, people, people,
people are stupid, Drew, I'm just going to tell you when they get in a car.
Like, they don't understand, first of all, no one in this town can parallel park.
I get a lot of joy just sitting on my park porch and watching people try to parallel park.
I mean, I don't know how these people pass.
the driver's test, first of all.
Secondly, so a guy came, an officer was there ticketing people yesterday.
There's a yellow curb.
You cannot park on the old curb.
They teach you that, I believe.
It's on the test.
And people do it, and then they get mad at the officer.
And they're like, well, I didn't know.
And he'd go, it's yellow.
And they go, well, but there's no signs.
And the officer's like, it's yellow.
Yellow is the sign.
Yellow is the sign.
So they have a guy just writing tickets all day yesterday?
He was there a lot, and I went and thanked him.
I brought him a cookie.
Oh, you did?
I did.
And he accepted it.
I don't know if that's illegal, but he took my cookie.
I was like, sir, thank you.
Here's a cookie.
But I, you know, so the city's going to hear from me today.
I'm not trying to be, I'm not trying to, but, you know,
the can't get in and out.
I mean, it's a one-lane street, and people just,
just hon, hon, you know, trying to back up.
And I've got neighbors, and they've closed their driveways off, which, you know, that's
their right.
But now, like, my driveway is like the only driveway.
So it's just people turn around all day.
And I don't like it.
I'm glad you're going to the meeting.
I am too.
You really need to go to this meeting.
Yep.
One of my best things of the year is I went to one of these meetings in my neighborhood a few
months ago, and I still think about it.
I didn't want to go, but the bickering and the people complaining, it's great people watching.
And it might even be you doing the bickering and complaining today.
Maybe I should go to your meeting and watch you.
You're acting like I'm not going to be the one bickering and complaining.
Are you going to lead the meeting?
I will say, though.
Do you feel like you're the voice of the community?
I will bring cookies to anyone who will enforce the yellow line parking issue.
Matt will have to participate.
He can't sit there without, I think, participating in the meeting.
Oh, you're shushing somebody.
No, I'm not going to shoot you.
I think we're all on the same side.
I think, you know, for the first time ever, I have spoken to my neighbors.
Which is good, strength in numbers.
You guys want to be in.
Let me tell you something I found out I didn't know.
One of my neighbors down the street has a horse in their backyard.
What?
A horse.
I'm serious.
You're kidding.
I don't know where you would put that.
I don't know how to think.
There is a person that lives a block and a half from Rup Arena that has a horse.
in their backyard.
Actually, I think it's two horses.
I'm not kidding.
Even picture how this is possible.
I'm not going to tell you which house it is,
because I heard a sound one day.
Do they know that they're there?
And I was like,
that can't be a horse, is it?
And then all of a sudden, that's a horse.
And I have to, I mean, I don't know what the rules of the city are,
but I don't think you could have a horse inside New Circle Road.
Inside New Circle Road.
Like a few blocks from Triangle Park.
Can't have a horse there, can you?
Apparently you can, two of them.
Yeah, some law was written in the 1800s
when everybody had horses.
Maybe they've never changed it.
So I might bring up the horse.
Can I have a horse?
Unless that person may be on your side.
I mean, if there's ever an opportunity to bring it up this meeting.
Did you, I mean, do you know people who have horses just?
I know of one that's a little.
closer to town than I realize you could have one.
It's out this way, but not where you are.
You are in downtown.
It is, there is a horse, and it nays.
And it nays loudly.
Thanks you learn on the show.
I know.

It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm CJ Toledano,
and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs
without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows.
Without Luca and Austin Reeves,
I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the play.
playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the
lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid. He has to guard Julius Randall. And then he has to
give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by,
like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nash would get that thing.
That man, hell get to fly. He running up the court, licking his fingers why he got the bar. Like,
you go through a training camp with that I said, you figure it.

We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me, he goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you
to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
quarterback on office blue with 42.
Hey, Brett, my mama want you to weigh better.
What?
Hey, Ms. Parker.
Listen to the Clifford show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
Welcome back, Techie Sports Radio.
So listen, this is why this show's good.
You learn things.
Horses are allowed in the Lexington City limits.
Apparently, one of the mothers of a backstreet boy got the city to change their code.
Horses are allowed, goats and sheep are not.
There you go.
I bet you didn't know that.
Apparently you can have a horse in the city limits of Lexington.
I learned that a couple weeks ago when I saw one,
but apparently that is the case.
So I can't even complain because it's legal.
I have one that close to downtown, like you said,
just a couple blocks from Rupp Arena and there's a horse.
We were just talking about that neighborhood back there.
Like, not mine, but like a couple streets over,
there are some mansions.
I don't know if people realize how nice some of the.
those houses next close to Rupp, like next to the Rupp Arena parking lot over there.
There's a mansion back there that has gates that one night I climbed to the top of the
of the wall.
I just wanted to look at Tom over here.
Well, I was, I guess, peepee.
But it looks like something from like a Civil War area mansion, and it's a block and a half
from Rupp Arena.
I don't think, I don't know if people realize that's over there.
You drive right by without even noticing it.
They're hidden so well.
They're hidden.
It's got all this full.
foliage, isn't that what you would call it?
You got to climb up on the fence to sit over, right?
There's some big, beautiful houses on those little side streets right there close to rub.
Yeah, there's a famous musician.
Very famous musician buying one of those houses.
Wow.
I'm not reporting on the air who it is, but a very, very famous musician is about to buy one of those.
Your neighbor.
Yeah.
Go hang out.
Maybe we'll become friends.
Draft Kings, well, the rads, the rads are done, but I'm still.
still, but they won yesterday in a comeback, which you went with your dad Saturday.
On Sunday, yeah, they had lost five straight, but of course the one game I go to, they beat my Cardinals,
watch them win.
Did you have a good time?
We loved it.
Thank you so much for letting us sit in your tickets.
He loved it.
Good.
I'm glad you all.
He's not happy with their result of the game, though, but a lot of Cardinal fans were there.
Tonight you got Blue Jays and Reds.
Nick the Blister Ladolo is back from his six-month blister injury to be against Jose Honeynett
Barrios pitching.
It is a even pick-em game.
Who you got?
I'm going to go with the blister.
I feel like you took a long time off for his blister.
He's rested.
I think it's fully healed.
Got their finger ready to go.
Yeah.
What about you?
Reds have won two in a row,
so I'm taking the Blue Jays.
Blue Jays.
They're the best team in the American League East, right?
Well, I think they've got the second best record in the American League.
I'm banned from the Blue Jays, so I'm not allowed to keep up with them.
Yeah.
I'll take the Reds.
Why not?
859-9-280-2287.
Who's next?
Luke is next.
Luke, go ahead.
Hey, Matt, I called into the post game show Saturday,
and I want to talk about what the guy after me called in and said.
He said Bush Hamden runs a 50-50 offense, 50% run, 50% pass.
Well, one, that's actually pretty accurate in his philosophy.
And number two, that's 100% stupid.
And the reason for that, if you want to run a balanced offense,
you run an air raid system where everybody has the opportunity to touch the ball an equal amount.
That's balanced.
I digress, though.
You also said Terry Wilson threw for 3,000 yards.
Yeah, in 27 career starts.
that's less than 150 yards a game.
We have not passed a...
Just for the record.
Just for the record.
You're right about that.
I saw the numbers.
I thought it was per season, and it was not.
With that said, I would take Terry Wilson's 10 and 3 record any time.
I'm not arguing about that.
I'm just saying we have not had a 3,000-yard passer in Stoop's entire tenure,
a single-season 3,000-yard passer.
And none of them have hit 30 touchdowns either in a single season.
That's awful.
I mean, that's awful.
The fact that we've won is...
as much as we have with subpar quarterback play truthfully,
it's actually pretty impressive.
But that's all I got.
Thanks, guys.
No, I think that's right.
I mean, you could say that with the exception of Will Levis's first year when he wasn't heard,
you could say that we've never really had a great quarterback,
and it's kind of amazing that we've won as much as we have during that period of time.
I mean, you go back, you know, Stephen Johnson and Terry Wilson.
I mean, go back and look those guys' records.
It's kind of amazing.
I was just saying, you know, Devin Leary threw for more yards than you think he did.
It is kind of amazing we've had this success because I think there's only one year.
I think there's only one year of the Stoops era where you could say the quarterback was a significant plus.
You maybe had some years where you say the quarterback was good or pretty good, but in saying like a quarterback is a strength of the team,
probably Levis's first year is the only year that's true.
wouldn't you agree?
Yeah, I mean, Stephen Johnson had a great year, but I don't consider it.
He wasn't like just stellar playing quarterback.
I mean, he had decent numbers.
He made good decisions.
Really, all the success, you can kind of just say Benny Snow and Chris Rodriguez,
Lynn Bowden.
With Benny and Chris, you have two record setting.
And the offensive line.
Yeah, I guess I should include them in that.
But, I mean, you had two record setting running backs go back to back.
And then a one-off year where your receiver ran the ball from the quarterback spot over
and over.
So I've absolutely been a running team under Stoops.
Yeah, Levis's first year when he was healthy, great season.
But then his second year he was hurt.
Eh, then Devin Leary, yeah, didn't Brock Vandergriff.
Yeah, we really are still kind of waiting for a big breakdown.
But the end has gone down.
I mean, if you're, if you're Will Levis is eh, then you're Devin Leary's like,
eh, and then you're Brock Landergris like, and now we'll have to see what happens with this one.
And even Levis, though, he's good, not taking anything away from.
from him, but I think we're realizing Wondell was pretty special too as a route runner.
And we haven't had many Wondell's to put with a quarterback.
He really helped Levis.
Levis would still be one without Wondell, but Wondell was getting open no matter what.
So I got to ask you, I know what you're going to say, but it's kind of online.
If this is what you're going to get from Calzada, why not make the switch to Qatar?
I think it's a conversation for later in the week.
Because I think Mark Stoops didn't act like that was crazy in his press conference yesterday.
The idea of, I mean, he, I think that's a conversation.
conversation for tomorrow because I do think it's going to be something we're going to talk about.
And if we get destroyed Saturday, it's going to be something that might actually happen.
So we will talk about it.
We appreciate you coming out here to Kentucky's KS Bar and Grill.
Open all day and night.
Please come see us.
Try the new burgers, wings, et cetera.
And then tomorrow is Wings Day where wings are a dollar.
Guys, it's nice to have football back, though.
Nice to be able to.
We are undefeated.
Yes.
And check in with me to know.
night about 7 o'clock to see how I survived this community meeting.
I'm glad you're going.
Parascope it.
Huh?
Old school.
Parascope it.
It's not a public meeting.
It's a private discussion session.
Gotcha.
So a conversation.
Yeah, we'll see.
We'll see you later.
