I'm surprised they're not moving it up to 4 p.m. So those guys can get to bed. On the Steelers thing, there is. There's a big Steelers crowd in Lexington. They kind of bounce around, but I've seen them out. If you think there's a Steelers wave coming, I know it exists in time. We have a server here who's a huge Steelers fan, and she has claimed she's showing up in all Steelers gear tonight just to yell at people. I was like, well, you can't yell at the customers.

You can't yell if you want at your fellow work, but you can't be like taunting the people who come here. Yeah, I know it's a couple old guys, but it is a nasty old AFC North robbery. I'm excited to watch it. All right, here we go. One person writes, Matt, here are the likability rankings on the show. No, number one, Drew, or excuse, number one, Ryan, number two, Drew, number three, Matt, Shannon, four, Billy, five. Not things of the pre-show, huh? Yeah.

Yes, one person writes, Matt, how would you rank the likeability of you all? Okay, so if you're just talking about what the general, there's two different things. There's the people who listen to this show regularly, and then there's the general public. For the general public, it's probably the case more people just know me. so I would be first, but then there's a lot of people in the general public who just hate me because they think, oh, he's a stupid liberal, or, you know, it's Louisville fans. So my, what they would call cue score would be probably higher likability, but also higher unlikability. But for people who listen to the show, if you were to really poll them and make them be honest, I think this would be the list. Mario would be number one.

No doubt. Because no one dislikes Mario. the problem. No, he would get, from regular listeners, he would be first. Drew would be second because no one, there's almost nobody that dislikes Drew. Third is probably Ryan, but Ryan has his, there are women that are like Ryan's got to stop. Sometimes some neighborhood things, women things. Neighborhood things, yeah. There are some women that are like Ryan's going to have to stop. So with men,

Ryan's probably third. If it's women, I'm probably third. Then I'm probably fourth. And then I'd say Billy and Shannon is a battle. It's a fight.

Shannon's probably fifth just because some people really like how sarcastic Shannon is. He has much more exposure. Many more years. He's on here every morning. And there are people who would rank Shannon one. Shannon has a contingent of people. They're out there.

Oh, I've met them. Who are STD is number one. Definitely. But then there, I know a lot of women who are like, Shannon is sexist. So he gets the extremes. But there would be Shannon ones. And Billy would probably be six, but I think Billy's score has raised a lot. Billy is now in the competition.

That's right. You went from last to still last, but not as far and last. You went from last to not quite as far last. I think that's probably fair. Well, that's progress. Kentucky football, basically, in the SEC. Until this year. Until this year.

All right, let's do some basketball here. I want to go through the non-conference games. Okay, I'm going to do this with the conference games next week. We'll go through the non-conference games. I just want win or lose. And if you pick win, I want to know how much. many points. Okay. All right. Okay. Win or lose?

How many points? We start the season, November 4th against Nichols. What state is Nichols in? Louisiana. I just know it's our first opponent in the BBA.A. United States. Look that up, Shannon. I think Nichols is in Louisiana. We open the season. Tuesday, November 4th. That's Election Day, by the way.

We open it against Nichols. If you win or lose, and if it's a win, give me the score. How many points? It's a win by 22. Yeah, I'm going win by 25. I'm going win by 34, Shannon. Win by 40. Win by 40.

Valpo, school in Indiana, a second. I'm going to say they win by 34. I'll say win a little less. I'm going 22. I'm going to go win 24, Shannon. Win 26. All right. Then we go at Louisville.

Drew? Win by six. I'm going to go win by three. I'm going to go win by seven. Shannon. Win by one. Win by one. All right.

So we're all got at three and oh. Eastern Illinois. They'll win by 42. Yeah, that's a win by 30. Win by 28. Win by 35. Michigan State and the Champions Classic. Man, we got stomped in New York last year.

We're not proposing in Central Park before. this year, right? I'll go win by four. A lot of engagements during that time. I'm going win by seven on this one. Surprising loss by four. I could see it. It's kind of our payback for having beaten Duke last year as we take a surprising

loss this year by four. So that's our first loss. Win by five. Win by five. All right. Loyola, home. Smoking them by 30. Yeah, win by 18 here. Win by 16. We're a little frustrated. Why are we not blowing these teams out? Shannon. When by 18.

Tennessee. Tech. We're going to be motivated after taking the football loss, so we're going to win by 110. Because it's like a week later. You think we're taking the football loss to Tennessee Tech? We walk in there fired up for the fighting, whatever they are, as ostriches. I think the basketball team plays us as close as the football team, so give me 14 win for Kentucky. I think we love John Pelfrey, but we pound them.

Win by 41. Win by 20. All right, Carolina at home. I keep giving us wins. I don't think we're going undefeated, but I'm going to win here also. I'll say they win this one by two. Yeah, I'm saying win by six. Rup is going to be rocking.

9.30 at night. Everybody's going to be giddy and probably a little drunk. I'm going to say win by seven, Shannon. Win by three. All right. Gonzaga in Nashville, speaking of drunk. Oh, I'm raising both hands right here. We got to win that one, but that he can.

Or we beat them last year. That dude's back. He kills us every year. Kentucky wins on a buzzer-beater. Oway, his second buzzer-beater in Bridgestone Arena. Oh, I like it. I will go loss by five in this one. Loss to Gonzaga.

Win by two for me, Shannon. Yeah, Gonzaga owes us one. I'm going to say Kentucky loses by four. So right now, Shannon, Billy, and I have one loss. Drew has no losses as we get into December 9th. In North Carolina Central. It's another big win. 24.

Yeah, win by 30 here, too. win by 53. 53, win by 24. I spoke at North Carolina Central one time about the death penalty. I've told this story before, but I said, I'm against the death penalty in all situations. You guy raises his hand and goes, what about for Osama bin Laden? And I was like, well, if he was tried in American court, I'd still be against the death penalty. He goes, all right, then somebody else raised their hand.

What about somebody who would kill your parents? I was like, okay, that's awful, but I would still be against the death penalty. And then somebody just stands up next and goes, well, if they were to kill him and just pointed to the other guy on stage. And I was like, I need to say again, my answer is not going to change. But they were just trying to come up with the craziest scenario they could. So that's why we're going to beat him by 53. Indiana at home, who you got?

What you got? Oh, beating Indiana by 13. Yeah, beaten Indiana by 33. I'm going to say five. Yeah, I think that's going to be a close game. I think Kentucky by six. St. John's. Rick gets him.

I think Pope is overwhelmed by Rick being across the way. Okay, and so you're going to say St. John's by two. Okay. Yeah, I'm taking St. John's as well by three. My logic on that is I just, I can't pick us to win every game, so I had to pick somewhere. The student becomes the teacher. Okay. This is the grasshopper moment.

And Kentucky wins by six. Shannon. St. John's by five. Okay. And then Bellarmine? I've got to pick this one to be somewhat close. Kentucky by seven. Kentucky by 32.

33. Kentucky by 10. All right. So we have, Drew and I only have one non-conference loss. Billy and Shannon have two. So that's why we're not like Billy. That's a problem. I don't know I hate Kentucky basketball.

We're realistic. But what's interesting about this is we have a lot of tough non-conference games. But they're all games that like, if you think we're going to beat Louisville, then North Carolina and Gonzaga and Indiana are essentially home games. Right? Michigan State is a neutral. I have them losing that one. Like we've lost Ohio State, I think last year in a game like that.

but they do have a chance, Drew, to have a really good non-conference. While they're still playing these good teams, when we play Gonzaga, North Carolina, Indiana, we're going to have home games. And then St. Johns, I would say in Atlanta, we have more fans there than St. John's probably does, right? Oh, yeah, I was at that game in Atlanta three years ago

when they beat Carolina. I mean, Carolina got in, too, but there were Kentucky fans everywhere in that city before, during, and after. So, I mean, the heart, I think the hardest game we have in the non-conference is at Louisville. Yeah, that's a tough one. Point guard you, apparently. They're fired up for that.

I mean, to me, that is most likely the hardest game. When Ken Palm put out his rankings, he puts out like a forecast, he didn't have Kentucky losing to the middle of January. I mean, I can see it. All right. Who's up next, Shannon? Let's go to David. David. David.

David. Hey, man. How we doing today? Doing good. I called in yesterday, but we ended up running out of town, so I didn't get to talk to you. I live in Cape Girardo, Missouri, but I was visiting my mom in Jefferson Town, which is just outside of that bad name city in Jefferson County. So anyway, I was heading home yesterday, but I had to make a stop at Kentucky branded. And shout out to Emily out at the Shelbyville Road Plaza.

I ended up spending about 200 bucks. So, kudos to that. Well, good. Other thing is, sorry? No, go ahead. So on my way home, I ended up driving by your favorite little town at New Indiana on Interstate 64, Poseyville. Yes, I have used the restroom there in Poseyville and got to call my police officer.

That's exactly right. Good memory. That was a decade ago. You're a little, you're, you're, you're almost, I don't know that story. I don't know that story. Is that the same? Yeah, I appreciate the call, sir. I one time I was in Poseyville, Indiana, and it was late at night, and I couldn't find a restroom,

and I just pulled off next in a, like in a field next to a gas station, and just tried to use the restroom, and a police officer came up, and I thought I was going to get, I think they thought I was a vagrant, And I thought I was going to get arrested in Poseyville. And I didn't even get a ticket. He let me go with a don't just use Poseyville as your toilet warning. Wow. It's an emergency. I'm impressed that guy remembers that.

That was a long time ago. That was like over a decade ago. Well, you've taught me to use hotel rooms on a long road trip. Yeah, but this, everything was that part of Indiana, that drive between, I can't remember what two. I don't know if it's like Evansville and then St. Louis or if it's Kentucky to Evansville. Like, there's nothing on it. So there's nowhere to stop. So you saw a field and did your business?

That's right. Who's next? Let's go to Ryan. Ryan, go ahead, Ryan. Hey, Matt. Yes. Sorry, you hooked up to my truck. My apology.

First of all, I didn't do anything. Don't say I hooked up to your truck. You hooked up to your truck. But go ahead. My phone hooked up to my truck. We'll agree that a mistake was made. and shame on the mistake for making itself. Anyway, as far as the football goes,

we have got to come to some kind of consensus on what is acceptable and what is not. And the question has to be, if seven wins is acceptable and five is not, are we going to pay $40 million to win two more games? Yes, in my opinion. I appreciate the call. Seven is acceptable.

Five is. Five is acceptable to me if you didn't win three last year or four last year, and if you were competitive, and if you didn't play silly, and if it felt like there was a positive future. But I don't feel any of those things. No, and if you did get to seven, heck, yeah, that would be pretty impressive. You'd think Holly of Bowley moving forward. You'd be thinking next year would look good, but I just,

is there anyone in the fan base that has that optimism? No. I mean, Kentucky, my personal Kentucky football expectations are not super high, but they're higher than what it is now. I got some cousins that are helping out that number. I'm going to start calling you Dolly Rowledge with this popularity. But that's really good. But now you're worried about the negative comments. Why would you do that? You know, don't read the comments. Yeah, you're probably better than that than I am. I am deep in the comments right now.

Just remember those people don't matter. That's right. counts too. They're not your life. One person writes, Matt, I've started to find Billy much more likable since Cover Zero and interrupted. You all should do more of those shows. I think you are more likable since them. And I'm really enjoying doing Cover Zero. I have to tell you, like, when the NFL asked us, I was going to do it because it was the NFL, but I was kind of like, oh, do I want to talk more about the NFL? But doing it with Drew and then having you and Mario there, I've actually really enjoyed it a lot.

Yeah, it's a lot of fun. And we get to go to the Super Bowl. Is that confirmed? I mean, I'm going to say it is. Yeah, if we just keep saying it, then they can't let us down. I mean, they keep saying that we might go to the Super Bowl. We're just going to be like, take the might out. They wouldn't have mighted us if it's not happening.

It's at least possible. I mean, think about the four of us rolling up to the Super Bowl in San Francisco. Heck, yeah. San Francisco. And even if we're not official, I have a better. chance of getting there than Cam Ward. So we're ahead of the Titans and getting to the Super Bowl this year. His misery on the podcast.

But they're saying we might get to be on Radio Row for the Super Bowl. That would be awesome. Do you know where the Super Bowl is? Yeah, San Francisco. It's in San Francisco. That's right. Do we get tickets to or is it just radio? I mean, Billy slow down.

Media passes. They haven't even told us we can go and you're already demanding tickets. You know the big media day where everybody's there just asking all the questions? That'll be us. That can be us. We can go up to them and go, hey man, what's up? What's up Daniel Jones and the Colts? Good to see you here.

We interviewed Brown Spider. We'll do it with actual players. But I mean, that's a cool potential thing. Yeah, for sure. So we'll see. You know, it's crazy. You can hear, you hear ads, promos for our podcast like somebody was telling me they were listening to Kelsey Brothers. Our promo ran.

That's kind of nuts. That's unbelievable to think about it. It really is insane, especially when you see the level of production where we try to do it. We had to stop yesterday because of storage space. Every time I get the... This is A-Heart in a nutshell, just for the record. We're doing the podcast yesterday. Halfway through it just cuts off because the computer we're on has no more storage space, Shannon.

Oh, that doesn't surprise me. Do you ever hear that happen anywhere else? No, just here. It's happened to my computer in the studio that I'm in right now. I believe it, Shannon. One hour episode. Sorry, that's it. Your show's over.

The computer is full. One person writes, Matt, bottom line, do you think Mitch Barton, Hart would have the guts to fire Mark Stoops? It's a great question. Does he have the guts? Because it will take guts because it's a huge amount of money and it will make things difficult for UK athletics because it's a huge amount of money. And, you know, it'll put a lot of pressure on whoever's next hire is.

Do you think he could do that? No. I think if it's three and nine, though, there's just not an option. It won't take guts. You just have to do it. You have to figure it. because I think we're finishing 4 and 8 for the record. I think we're going to win one of these games randomly.

We're going to beat somebody we shouldn't, but I don't think we're going to do it twice. So I think we're going to finish 4-N-8. What if he does that? I think he's so got to, I mean, if your fourth is beating Tennessee and the year ends and that's their only hiccup the rest of the way, maybe you're like, well, he did that. But even then, I don't know.

I mean, it's one win. So does he have the guts to be? doing it for it. I think 95% of people would have the guts. I don't know that Mitch does. That's a great question because he got saved by the chicken man with Cal. He was going to have to make a tough decision there. Yeah, that seemed pretty obvious

two years ago. He didn't, he made the decision. His decision was to keep him. Remember, I mean, it kind of gets lost to history, but Mitch decided to bring Cal back. And then Cal ended up leaving. But like he made the, people

wanted him to do that, and he brought him back and it would have been miserable. And it's not just brought him back. They did that TV. We love each other. You are crazy. Stop listening to the guy. Look at us. That TV interview was an embarrassment. It really was. It was an embarrassment. Especially with the fact that Cal left two or three

days later. Kyle had a leg out the door in the interview. That was an embarrassment. I mean, they tried to act like they liked each other. It's like I know you all hate each other. Just, you know, it is what it is. They always would use that line, well, we don't send each other Christmas cards. Yeah, fair enough.

Look, I've got to be honest, I've been very, and not like unreasonably frustrated with Arch's progress,

but I think showing up last week in that big game against Oklahoma, he actually played well. I've been very disappointed with how he played basically every other game, you know, early in the season. And he didn't really have that, I'm a freshman excuse. I know he's a new starter, but he's been around for a while. So I've been a little bit frustrated. It felt like we had a much better shot this year than it felt like we did at the first part of the year. But he's turned around, man.

I thought he played really well last time. And unfortunately, the Wildcats quarterback situation isn't one that really necessarily makes you too nervous. Oh, you need to be nervous. You need to be nervous. It's cutter time. Cutter, Cutter, Cutter Peanut Butter, and it starts on Saturday. We'll see. That's one thing that we do have, and we've been pretty consistently good, is defensively. Even if Arch doesn't play, like, I hope that he's turned the corner and is going to play the rest of the year, I still think that defensively we cause some problems for Kentucky. All right, so let's do this. You're always, it's Keenland. A lot of people are going to Keenland this weekend,

whether it be Friday or Saturday. Give me one pick for Keenland this weekend that is the UT Big Hair, KSR, Keenland, lock of the week. Yeah, okay. The lock of the week is Saturday in race six, the Perryville, the number five. So, hang on just a second. Saturday, race sixth. It's called the Perryville. That's the town in Boyle County, right?

That's where we used to dig for fossils when I was in Governor Scholar. All right, the Perryville, what's the horse? Number five, Captain Cook. It's a horse that... He was on the Kentucky Derby Trail trying to go long, those longer distances. He switched trainers to Todd Pletcher, a Hall of Famer. He's cutting back in distance. His last race in Saratoga was outstanding.

I think he's the best one-turned three-year-old horse in the country, and I think he'll prove that on Saturday as well. Lock of the week, Captain Cook. Shannon, we put money on it? No. Why not? Not me. I'm in.

You don't believe in big hair? I did until Kentucky Joe outpicked him one year. Well, Kentucky Joe did out picking one time, but that's okay. But Capdica, you're in with me, Dr. Oh, absolutely. All right, so now give me a long shot, one that I could get some price on that you feel is kind of sporty. Yeah, well, race nine on Saturday. There's a couple of Bob Affert runners in there.

They'll take money. I think quiet side. And the Raven run on Saturday, race my number 11. She hasn't run since the Kentucky Yokes. very similar to what we saw with Captain Cook, a horse that was going probably a little bit longer than they want to go, trying to catch those big races, now goes back to one turn,

which I think she's going to appreciate. She's 4 to 1 morning line, but you can spend that money too. All right, so race 6, we go to the Perryville, Captain Cook, race 9, quiet side. Horse 11 is his longer shot, although 4 to 1 ain't the longest shot in the world there, big hair. But that's all right.

Low is the most likely. O.A. will be one of those. He'll consistently get 15 a game. But I don't know that he'll ever get 30 in a game. Jalen Lowe will have – now, Jailin Lowe will have a game where he goes 2 for 13 and drives us crazy, but he will also have a game where he goes for 30. Yeah, we saw Lamont Butler do something similar last year. I think Jailen Lowe can fill that role nicely.

Yeah. Jalen Lowe, there are going to be a couple games. There's going to be at least one game in the non-conference where we play one of those bad teams where Jalen Lowe is going to just make everybody go, whoa, who's this kid? Do you agree with that? Yeah. And, you know, we've talked a lot about how he didn't have pieces around him. He's going to take such a jump forward because he's also a great distributor. I mean, he can get in the lane and finish, but he's a great passer.

But last year, didn't have anyone to pass to that could do anything with it. I think people have underrated his passing, because of what you said. He just didn't have guys who could finish. But when you watch in practice, he sees things driving to the basket. I hope I'm not wrong because I've got all my stock in him, but I think he's going to be great.

There was a Louisville fan, Rashon Myers, who used to do radio with me. I like Rashon. But he wrote yesterday, everybody's overrated in Kentucky. They have no stars on their team. And I don't know how you define a source. star, but if Oway and Lowe are not stars, then I don't know how many stars there are in college

basketball. Like, if they're not stars, then who's a star? I don't know, Roshan, so I'll call that the dumbest thing on the internet. O'A is the SEC preseason player of the year. I don't know what more you want him to do going on the year. And his insinuation is Louisville has stars. Well, who are their stars? I mean, if O'A. and Lowe or not stars, who's Louisville's on? Jaden Quaintons is a top five pick in the mock drafts right now. So he declared $1.5 million in gambling winnings. That's a lot of money to be up in gambling. How do you think it is? He has a press conference today where I guess they're going to ask him about it.

What do you think it is? You think it's sports? You think it's roulette? You think it's blackjack? What do you think $1.5 million gambling is? I would guess sports and I would say somebody with that kind of money is best. getting massive numbers, like big numbers. So maybe he didn't hit a whole lot of picks, but maybe he bet an enormous amount of wagers on one or two games and hit him.

And that's how you could probably get to that number. Do you like, Drew, your governor, to have $1.5 million in gambling winnings or $1.5 million in gambling losing? You nailed it. I want him to be winning. I don't want a guy that's out in alley throwing dice trying to get back to even because he's down so bad at the casino. It's an interesting question. What would you rather have? Would you ever have a political official win in gambling or you'd be like he's like,

because I mean, I guess you would say if he's going to use our state's money, I'd rather him win than lose. He's got to pay taxes on his winning, so he's putting some back in. What do you think Andy Bashir's numbers look like? I'm going to guess Andy Bashir, if you were to say, I think he probably goes to the horse track, bets a few hundred dollars and loses every single time because he'll be like one of those things where he'd only bet on like a horse from Versailles or something

I'm going to say Andy won a cake at the Christa King picnic in a sack race and that's the most he's ever gambled he won musical chairs at a church picnic and declared the chocolate cake he won from glass you got to declare it the musical chairs on the Illinois governor I can't believe sports and if it is sports I want to investigation. Well, if it is, then he's going to say you bet on all the Chicago teams.

See, that's what I thought was most likely. He put some sort of symbolic bet on a team from Illinois. But who would have paid out that? They don't win. I don't know. Todd Golden was asked about Denzel Aberdeen leaving Florida for Kentucky, and he said he had some priorities beyond winning a championship. second championship here. Seemed like a shot to me at Denzel Aberdeen, which is a weird thing for a former coach to do, didn't you think? It's the second, maybe third time this offseason. He hasn't been very shy and saying, you know, he didn't say it was the money, but he said

there was an offer that he couldn't turn down beyond bad. And he walked right into saying it was the money. See, I don't understand why Todd Golden feels the need to do this. I mean, you just won a national championship. And you want a national championship when a lot of people might have lost their job. And you won a national championship, and you are on top of the world, and you've got a team that could win it again this year. They've got a great team.

Why take, you're right, Drew, multiple kind of passive-aggressive shots at your former player. Why do that? Because he broke and couldn't afford him, I guess. I probably wanted him. He seems bitter. It's not like they're not good. They're good this year. So why would you, why do that?

Well, they had all three of their guards leave, and just guessing. Golden probably in his mind was just counting on Aberdeen stepping forward in one of those spots. And then when Aberdeen had a big offer. But he went and got Boogie Flan from Arkansas. Yeah? Yeah, I think it's just jarring when we don't hear coach speak. You know, and this was just he probably just got a little personal about it. Yeah.

Because he sounds very better. By the way, did you see, I mean, I know it's an exhibition game, but the first game of the Stephen Pearl era did not start out great. They lost at home to an Oklahoma State team that's supposed to be bad this year. Oklahoma State team had three starters out. Three of their five starters were out, went to Auburn and beat them on their court. I know it's an exhibition game, but still. And he wakes up and his dad took a job somewhere else to get away from it.
