I mean, really. create a KSR club. You get to come up here during school, sit at a bar from South Laurel, which is at least an hour drive up here. I'm a huge fan of these kids just for their ability to, if nothing else, listen to the show, but also get out of school.

Drew, I think it's actually quite impressive. I was pretty good at getting out of school myself, and I got to admit, creating a club to go to another town to sit at a bar. Never popped in my brain. We didn't have a... I tried to create a Jobie and Denny Club, and nobody joined it with me, so I like that. I was trying to remember when I was in school. We had, like, the chess club and some boring clubs. We didn't have anything.

The chess club in Otwell, Indiana. Pike Central High School. I bet they were good. We were outstanding. Yeah. Nothing cool like a KSR club. How cool is a class of that? So, thank you guys very much for coming.

I'm actually, I guess I'm in the education business today. I'm speaking at UK this afternoon. You know, Drew, I was scheduled to speak at UK last week. I had to cancel because I was up doing something at ESPN, and the professor asked me to come this week. And then all of a sudden, I got online, and it had been posted like it was like some kind of crazy news story that I had canceled at ESPN.

Somebody posted, breaking news. Matt Jones cancels his UK appearance. And then there were all these people chiming in. I was like, what? I had to go to ESPN. I'm doing it next week. So I'm going today to, I speak to some sort of journalism class.

You're going to teach them all about the ins and outs of being a respected journalism in the community? Well, here's how respected I am. I hate that I'm doing this the day you're here. I forgot my book of topics, which is an unfortunate thing. Normally, I have this long book of topics. As you know, I've had one for 14 years. Today I left it in the wrong place, so we're going completely raw today when it comes to topics. And it's an Ask Anything Thursday you can call in or text in and ask any questions.

I call your tablet your Bible because you carry it around religiously, and you keep them when the year's over. Don't you keep them somewhere? I have everyone I've done since 2000. I have them going back to my law practice. I have everything since about 2005. They become harder and harder to find because people don't keep physical calendars anymore. They keep it on their phone.

But I look at my phone already too much, so I like having the book. Do you ever go back to your old books and just see what you're up to? Well, sometimes I need to know, like, when did I? do this, right? So sometimes I go back and try to see when something happened. I just finished my taxes a few weeks ago, and it was that I hate, I tell you, one day a year, and I'm sorry, I know y'all don't want me to get political on this show, but I become, I'm a Democrat, 364 days a year. I'm a Republican one day a year, and it's tax day, and especially the day I have to go back and find all that stuff, so I don't like that. Well, in Kentucky, you know, they gave

us a reprieve. We didn't have to turn them in until, what, November the 3rd this year, because of the floods and everything. They kind of gave us a little break this year. I think it was November 3rd. Guess what day I turned it in? November 3rd. November 3rd. I tell you, I'm a last minute person on all of that, Drew. I know that because sometimes your accountant calls me asking where you are. You started your taxes. I'm like, I don't know, man. Yeah. 859-28027. We have a lot of stuff to get to. Last night, I was as exhausted as I could be when we got done with this trivia. It was nice to have trivia. There were, Ryan's team came like fourth from last, which was. We were 10th, we're right in the middle.

Yes. Give us a little respect. You didn't do great at all the questions, but... A couple of your questions killed us. Well, let me... We do this sometimes. Shannon, Ryan heard them. So Shannon, you and Drew, would you like to answer...

We're always terrible at this because we have no time to think. But if you want to lay them on us... I'm going to lay them on you here. Okay, so here... Shannon might know the female rock and roll band. So that's a good one. All right, what are the highest-selling female... musical groups of all time, and they have to be all women.

Okay, so there can't be any men in the group. And some of them are more recent. Some of them are older. What are the highest selling, all female groups? And it doesn't have to be rock, just groups. Yeah, I'm going to go number one, spice girls. Spice girls are number one of all time. Shannon is correct.

Drew, do you have against? Well, I was going to say spice girls. Let me think quickly on the fly. I got a couple more, Drew, if you need help. Destiny's Child. Destiny's Child is number three all time. I got another guess. What is it, Shannon?

TLC. TLC is number four all time. You all are doing very well so far. I'm going to go old school. I'm going to say the Supremes. Supremes are number two all time. Shannon is killing it. Top four.

All right, can you get those, you've gotten kind of, in my opinion, the easier ones. Now they start to get a little bit harder, but you have heard of all of these. Shannon, do you have any more? I think they would have been in there, but they didn't do country. But to me, they would have been in there. But what's it? All right. Shannon, do you got any more? I've kind of hit a wall now, now that I'll get those out of me. Any more? That's about all we got.

All right, so this is the rest of the top team. I'm going to guess the Pussycat dolls are down the list. Shannon's getting all of the top five. What was the, there was a girl band, like in the boy band area, all girls. think Diddy created them? I don't think that's on here. Let's not talk about Diddy. Let's not do that, okay?

They're young, impressionable people here. What is their name, though? Six place, the Pointer Sisters. That's a long time ago. Right. Seventh place, in vogue. Oh, good. Like in vogue.

Eighth place, Wilson Phillips. Really? Shannon, you were the only one I thought might get that one. That was an 80s group. I'm surprised they're on the list. Ninth place, Salt and Peppa, who just went in the hall. And then 10th place, I think this is a more recent group. Is it Fifth Harmony?

Is that something? Is that a, is that a, I wouldn't have gotten it. So there you go. Those were your top ten. I'm impressed Shannon got all five of the top five. We didn't get any of the older groups at all. Didn't even discuss some of those that were in the final list. I'm impressed Shannon knew the Supreme.

Yeah. That's good. All right. Now, the movie came out this summer with Brad Pitt. It was the number one movie. it was the most money a Brad Pitt movie has ever made in his lifetime. It was F1. Now, after F1, what are the eight movies starring Brad Pitt that have made the most money?

And by starring, he could have a co-star, but that Brad Pitt was involved in. Oh, boy. Drew, I'm going to lean on you for this one. Come on. I would venture to say you all have heard of all of these and have probably seen most of them. I can't even think of a Brad Pitt movie right now. You ever heard of Brad Pitt? He's an actor.

I have. He's really handsome. I am. You're talking through him all the time. Distracting my brain. So he was in like fight club, right? Fight club, there we go. Fight club is not one of them.

But yes, he wasn't in that. Interview with the vampire? Yes. That was a tough one. That's amazing. Not one person last night got interviewed with the vampire. Not one group. Wow.

Well, I'm tired here. It's hard on live radio. I can't even think of that. But I'm actually, that's really impressive. if you're the only one that got that one. This one's probably not it. What's the war movie he was just in a few years ago? I don't know.

Let's do the UK basketball question. Yeah, that's a good one. We lost to Louisville in a non-conference game. Regular season and tournament before Louisville,

who were the last eight teams Kentucky had lost to in a non-conference game going backwards, okay, starting backwards. So Louisville, now what were the eight right before that? Clemson. Clemson is one of them. There you go. Ohio State is two. And we're not doing NCAA.

We are doing NCAA. Oakland. Oakland is three. Now we have five more. St. Peters was before this. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm going too far back there. What was the other non-conference last year?

Clemson, Ohio State. I think we're good here. One of these teams we lost you twice. Tennessee is in conference. Shannon, you're going to help her Drew here? Is Drew going to have to do it on his own? All right? Let's ask South Laurel.

Hold on. Was cows last year? Was that Wilmington? UNC. Wilming? Well done. That's the one. That's a hard one.

Well, somebody said. Then in the tournament, Kansas State, and then UCLA. So those were the answers. I'm impressed with South Laurel, though. You got some answers there. They could have helped your team. Yeah, I'm impressed. Drew pulled out UNC Wilmington.

That's the one I had completely out of them. UNC Wilmington is one that you can easily forget, but we were on our run. road trip. Remember how I agree we were on that one when that happened? Where were we? We watched that game. We were like in, I want to say like Lafayette, Indiana or something. It was somewhere in Indiana and we were, we were upset about it. Actually, we watched until the final minutes at your house in Louisville, then drove a little bit. Yeah, exactly right. We kept saying, we'll leave when they get up 20 and then they just never got up. So we're like, well, we can't leave now. Then they lost the game. So that was fun. They're doing karaoke here tonight, by the way. First time they've ever done,

we've ever done karaoke here. What's your go-to karaoke song? Wagon wheel, Darius Rucker, my goodness. I sing it like it's never been sung before. Yeah, well, you can come here tonight. I think that starts at 7 o'clock. They're doing karaoke. All right, I have a question for you.

We give me going into, now that we've lost to Louisville, have your expectations of the season changed? Or is it just one game? So think about where you were before the game and where you are now. has anything changed in your expectations, right? Maybe just a little. I still have really high expectations, but maybe just a little.

I'm starting to see some things I don't really like that I wouldn't concerned about. Like we talked about Otega yesterday, guys, you know, the inability to shoot the basketball by some of these guys. So maybe to answer your question. So slightly down? Slightly down. Okay, what about you? No, not down. I would say I still think their potential is what it always has been for me.

they might could be able to be worse maybe their floor is a little lower than i expected got a few concerns but i mean that was Louisville's a top 10 team that was a true road environment on november 11th uh someone posted like the first true road games every year of like the last 10 years and most of them we've lost almost all of them so even it sucks being Louisville and you know i've already moved on from that at 24 hours having to put up with them on Twitter other than that though that doesn't change my long term outlook it hasn't changed my it hasn't changed mine i've thought this team was an elite eight final four team that if things got fortunate you could win a title with I still think that's true I mean I think Louisville's elite eight final four team we played them on

their home court it was a wild environment they hit shots early so I there are a couple things though like Ryan said that I'm a little worried about I'm especially I've always been worried about the shooting I'm a little worried about now what they're going to do with all these big guys I wish we could make a trade I really do I wish we could trade one of these bigs for a shooter because we got too many big guys and we're getting another one you know we got too many I we'll see how it plays out but this could be here where we're questioning how Pope built everything there might be a roster I agree that we have too many bigs and not enough shooters now if noah locks in and shoots lights out and Chandler shoots half as good as he's shooting right

now maybe the shooting won't be an issue but just trying to predict what's ahead it looks like too many big one of these bigs one of these bigs is not going to play and they're probably not going to be happy. And I think it's either going to be, I think it's going to be Brandon Garrison. I think you're going to see his minutes go down and then you got to decide like, what do you do at that point? Yeah, because, you know, Malachi, when he's on the floor, he's your best rebounder. And he can shoot, and he can shoot, which is why I think he's going to end up getting more minutes. I'll be watching for... Future mother-in-law keeping dibs on him in luck. This might be a father-in-law. I don't know. If I'm 9-2-8-0-20-287, one person says, Matt, I had Kentucky at 40 and 0. Now I have them at 39-1. Not a lot has changed. I like that confidence.

It's good attitude. I mean, I do think there's a strong argument. that will be our hardest game of the year. That and that Florida. If you're just talking about trying to win, I mean, think about it. Who are we going to play that's better than them on their home floor? Probably maybe nobody.

I mean, it's going to be them, maybe Florida. That's it. Alabama. We do play Alabama on the road too. I wonder if that had just been a, say that was the Clemson game last year, if people would be as upset. I think it's just because we're not used to losing to Louisville.

Because it was Louisville? I don't think people are forming opinions about the team because it was Louisville. And if it had been just whatever, name an ACC opponent, another one, it wouldn't have been as bad to swallow. We ended the show yesterday with somebody saying that the honeymoon period for Mark is over. We didn't really get a long chance to talk about that. You've heard really for the first time starting yesterday questions about the way he coaches, the way he builds rosters. By the way, that's going to happen.

That was going to happen at some point. Now it's happened. Do you think that changes anything? The fact that now people, because really nobody did that last year, really at all? I mean, I've heard it a couple times. A guy told me yesterday, man, he lost to Caliperi, now he's lost to Louisville. But for me personally, I'm still in the honeymoon phase. I mean, like we've been saying all morning, it was just a game in early November,

a non-conference game you drop it, it shouldn't affect the way you play the rest of the year. I'm going to be interested to see after Michigan State. Because in my opinion with Michigan State, Drew, we should be better than them. They're a style that is more similar to Purdue, who we beat. produce probably better than Michigan State. So that's a game I want to see us go win. In Madison Square Garden, you've talked over the years how we've struggled with the Champions Classic in the last few years.

I've been up there so many times for losses. And it's time for us to win one of those games. And as we said, Louisville may be the hardest non-conference game. You could make a case Michigan State should be the easiest non-conference game. So I think we've got to win it. And after taking that loss, hopefully it's been a rough couple days of practice with more to come. In fact, I hope they're still running. So I think Pope getting some teaching moments

Should even have them more locked in for Michigan State Not that they'd be locked in for that game But taking a loss like that one at Louisville Should help them out moving forward Did you see the video Mario posted of the kid in the U of L Student section getting flipped off and getting yelled at by Louisville fans? That's gone very viral online Do you think the Louisville fans were jerks to the kid

wearing the Kentucky shirt in the Louisville student section? I think they were jerks, if it was reversed, when it was a Louisville fan sitting in the eruption zone, our students may have done the same thing. I commend that dude. That dude, I was brave to go on enemy territory. If I want to understand, he didn't even have a ticket to sit there. He just went down there and warmed his way in and found a seat.

But he wasn't, he wasn't being loud. He was just sitting there. But, I mean, they were, like, giving him the bird in his face. And Mario was standing right there trying to talk to him, and people were booing him. And then Jalen Lowe gets involved on the way to the locker room. is yelling a little bit. I'm going to disagree with the right. I can't see eruption zone doing that.

I don't think they would either. Louisville fans are meaner. Yeah. No, they are. I can't see the... I don't think the eruption zone would do that. I'd heckle, but it wouldn't be the bleeps, you know, F you and all that we were seeing on that video.

Well, I mean, I walked by the Louisville student section before the game, and it's funny how things have changed. Like, there was a time that that would have been, like, I wouldn't have walked by. I would have felt unsafe. But now I was fine, but then a few of them recognized me, and then they started a chant in the middle finger, and then they all did it. So they were in a middle finger frame of mind, Drew, the whole time. So I'm not surprised that kid got it, because I got it right before that, too, so I can see it.

And in the celebration, good for them. They won. Have their moment. But I can't help but notice. They are acting like they won the national championship. Now, we brag about Louisville, too. but like did Mark Pope run into the crowd last year and all that? Break his finger?

No, he went and shook hands with Pat Kelsey, pointed to the UK fans and walked to the back. They are celebrating it like, we keep getting accused it's our Super Bowl. They're celebrating it like that's the greatest thing that they've done in 20 years. Yeah, I'll take up for it. I'm okay with it.

They haven't won a long time. I mean, you know, it's a new coach. I get it. I'm okay with they're celebrating about it. I mean. I'm okay with it. I'm just reminding them. They're acting like that when we got pretty used to beat them.

Yeah. We'll see at the end of the year. I think they're going to have a big year. They're going to go into the tournament, probably a one or two seat, because they just don't, they have a hard non-conference, but they don't really play in conference. There's only a couple good teams in the ACC. So I think they're going to have a really good record when you get to the tournament.

Who's up first, Shannon? Let's go to Isaiah. Isaiah. Go ahead, Isaiah. Hey, Matt. We were talking roster lineups yesterday. I want to get your thoughts on Lowe, Aberdeen, and, always starting at those guard spots, assuming always gets back to driving the ball and not

worried about shooting too much. I think that kind of you have low and Aberdeen can shoot pretty well and you could go back to slashing and then Perino at the big spot and just kind of thinking about wrong your lineup. I mean, I think our best lineup is this would be, and I appreciate the call, I would start this lineup. If you just want to put your best lineup on the floor, I would have to put your best lineup on the floor. I would want to do low, Aberdeen, O-Way, but if O'Reilly plays like he did against Louisville,

take him out and put Chandler in. I can't believe I'm saying that, but that's what I would say. Moreno at the four, Diabate at the five. That's what I'd like to see out there. I think that's right now, if you're just playing our five guys that are playing the best, Ryan, to me, those are the five that are playing the best right now.

And I like Chandler coming off the bench because he could do any of those three spots. That was the lineup that was playing the best. So they just ran with those guys. Well, they brought O'Way back in, though. I mean, that was they brought O'Way back in at the very end, but the lineup that was plus 10 was that 10. We had a few issues with his subbing last year. Now, once they got so injured, just doing whatever he could, I think what people, he talks today,

I think what people are going to want to hear from Pope is today's not the day for beautifuls and specials. We're going to be extraordinary. You need to be like, we got our butt kicked. And then after that, it did feel like they did not see those open looks down low. And it led to a lot of – we ended up taking bad shots on the perimeter instead of doing what was working early in the game. And that's right about the time they hit that 13-0 run that made the lead you couldn't come back from. It's so obvious when this team gets out of their motion because they do.

They just sit around and start jacking up threes. That's when Aberdeen had the two air balls. I mean, they're not getting in the lane. It completely just goes full stop, and they don't know what to do when they get in the half court and get jammed up. If you can handle the pain, go back and look after Jalen Lowe makes the three where he gets foul. He makes the three, he gets foul. We go to a commercial break. The next five or six defensive plays for Kentucky and then offensive plays for Kentucky, we are so awful.

I think some of our perimeter guys missed them, and then I think sometimes they got the ball and they were just ineffective and they just couldn't, they weren't able to do anything with it. Yeah, on pregame Michelle, we were talking about who's better at each position. I was like, front court, no question. Kentucky's the winner. Now, Louisville might have the better back court, but we should kill him inside, and then just that didn't happen at all. Yeah.

Does they designate you to be the play-by-play guy, or can Myron maybe be the- They want me to be the play-by-play guy, and I've never done it.

Our pregame show will start at 9.30, but the restaurant will open at 10 so you can come in. By the way, Drew and I are doing the pregame show and then getting in a car and driving to Buffalo after the game. Like people do. Like people do. And then we will do the post game show from somewhere on the road. So, like, we'll probably be in, like, Akron or Cleveland when we do the postgame show. Which could be great entertainment, so just tune into that on Saturday. But, yes, what do you expect to see Saturday?

Are you at all, I mean, there are 10 and O. Are you at all worried about losing this game? No, their average of winning is, like, the margins is in the 30s, and they're the number one offense in FCS, and the number three defense in FCS. So they're about as good as an FCS team as you can play. But they're not But they're an FCS team But they're not one of the great

FCS teams They're beating are bad Like their stats are good But they don't have They haven't beaten anyone So you're not at all worried About losing the game Fire everyone if they lose Saturday

I don't care that they were winning By 30 or ranked what they are I'm just adding that for a little context You cannot lose to Is the game close at halftime? Better not be it. So you just think like your outclassed shouldn't even be an issue. I don't think you should have the SEC patch on your uniform if you can't handle your business pretty quickly.

I mean, to be fair, there's been, I don't think there's been a major team lose to an FCS team yet this year. Sometimes that happens occasionally. I don't think that's happened this year. So like there's really no excuse for it. I mean, North Dakota State's the best team. I think they played at Kansas State and it was close, but Kansas State did win. So I don't think there's any excuse to lose the game. You're hot right now.

It's actually you need the win. It's not like you're a great team and they're going to sneak up on you. You need to stack a few more wins and keep this going. So it would be a horrible loss. Even if it's close, I think it would be a terrible look. They struggled to beat Gardner Webb last week. That's all I need to know. You struggle to beat Gardner Webb.

Yeah, but we've had some history with Gardner Webb. Basketball. You know, there have been those football games in the past, like it was close against what, Austin Pee at halftime. We were losing, weren't we at Austin Pee, I think. Lafayette. Louisiana. with Eastern Kentucky.
