Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

I'm Michelle McPhee, and I've been unraveling the strangest criminal alliance I've ever reported on, a Mormon polygamist and an Armenian businessman.
Multi-million dollar house, Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, a billion dollar fraud.
But how long can this alliance last?
Tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me?

Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio here live at the Infinity Rooftop on top of Marriott City Center.
You can come to Infinity Rooftop for elevated lunch and dinner, elevated.
I think they mean elevate.
It's like a double entranter.
It's both elevated in the sky, but also elevated in your taste.
That's a good combination, right?
They're bringing over espresso martini's.
They made me an old-fashioned.
That is quite an espresso marty.
Are you, you're like a...
I'm not really a martini guy.
I'm more of an old-fashioned guy.
I was about to say, you're like a girly girl with your espresso.
Billy, get over here.
This is more your style.
This looks like it's too pretty to drink, though.
It's got the whipped cream on top and everything there.
It really is.
And then you got old fashions.
They made them for you there.
You can come here, get your lunch, your dinner.
Also, your holiday parties here.
Corporate meetings.
That's all here at the downtown Marriott Center.
and here at Infinity Bar Restaurant.
I made a mistake there.
I said Tom Wopat.
That was Luke Duke from the Duke so past.
Close.
He is not in the show.
It's Tom Wamscans from Succession.
Uh-huh.
Kind of like Wopat.
He's in there.
And then you said this yesterday, Drew, the main character, James Garfield, is a Kentucky.
Michael Shannon.
Lexington.
He was from Lexington.
He plays the main guy.
They're kind of the two main characters in the show.
Yeah, Big Michael Shannon fan.
Hadn't seen him in things in a while.
So I mentioned I turned like this on for about 15 minutes last night.
Loved what I saw.
I just fell asleep.
You would like one of the big scenes is at the Republican convention.
You could be like I was there.
Was Kid Rock there?
Kid Rock was not there.
This was in like, I think, the late 1800s.
So I don't think Kid Rock was there yet.
That was really one of the craziest.
events I've ever been to that Republican convention we went up there in Cleveland it was insane
Well what was it Ray Richardson we did our radio show and Ray Richardson food get to meet him and I can't unsee Matt Bevin dancing to kid rock
That's burned in my brain. Yeah, I mean Matt Bevan dancing
I think he was wearing all denim he was wearing all denim our former governor denim shirt
denim jeans and he was standing in the back and he started doing a dance like Elaine from Seinfeld to
To fall with a ball.
To Kid Rock.
It was pretty funny.
And then he saw us watching him, and he was a little embarrassed, I think, at that point.
Is that also where we got that great picture of him just staring a hole through you?
Was that at the same point?
Oh, yes.
That's one of my favorite pictures of all time.
Kentucky is about to do the thing.
You're like, Great State of Kentucky, Home of Horse Raising, Burbin, Burm, Burma, Burma, Burr,
gives all of its votes to it.
And I think at the time it was Donald Trump.
And they were about to do it, and it was Matt Bevin going to say it.
But behind him was Mitch McConnell, and all of them are just staring a hole right for me.
And there's Drew right next to him.
Getting strays.
Just waving.
I tried to photo bomb all 50 states, and Showtime did a documentary.
And if you go back and watch it, I am all over it.
I'm with Oregon, Kentucky, New York.
I tried to get in everyone I could.
You know, there's that picture of the Washington delegation, and all of us are in our tree hats.
That was on the cover of, I want to say, the New York Times.
Some big newspaper.
today. We were on the cover with our Washington tree hats. That was ridiculous that we got to go with him.
We got to talk to Dan Rather, right? We got to talk to Lester Holt.
The guy he was most excited about was the guy from The Bachelor.
And Bundy, those two. You introduced me to Tucker Carlson. I had no idea who he was at the time.
I have a picture of me and Tucker Carlson where it looks like we're best friends and I'm hiding that one.
Yeah. You guys are pretty much the same person, right?
Shut up. If I'm not 280-2287. All right, couple things that are not.
Not, not, okay, that's enough of all this.
Here we go.
Drink after drinks rolling in.
Stop with the drinks, okay, because you guys.
George double-fisted.
I'm going to lose these guys for forever.
All right.
Did you see Shannon the story about storage wars?
No, I don't know about this.
Have you all seen this?
So I've never seen storage wars, but I get the premise of storage wars is you go to,
like somebody has abandoned their storage place and you can bid on it or something.
Then you see what's in it.
Right?
Right.
All right.
So this guy, one of the co-hosts of storage wars, he buys a storage unit in New Jersey for $500.
Okay?
Storage it's been abandoned.
He buys it for $500.
Then they open it up and in it, like in a little compartment in the back is a bag that has $7.5 million in cash.
That's a good return on investment.
My goodness.
$7.5 million in cash.
So, I mean, he's excited.
He takes the cash.
cash and he's like, yes, I'm rich now. I have
$7.5 million. He gets
a phone call a week later
from a lawyer who says,
I represent the interest of
an individual. You bought
our storage unit
and we would want you to sell
all of its components.
And he was like, well, no,
I'm not going to do that. The guy goes,
yes you are, we'll give
you $500,000 for it.
He says, no.
They come back,
They offer $1.2 million for what's in it.
He ends up selling it.
So he sells what's in it, which includes $7.5 million of cash for $1.2 million.
Now, there's a conversation about was that a good decision or not?
I guess he did an interview where he said, essentially, I was a little uneasy about the fact that there was $7.5 million of cash.
don't know where the money came from,
don't know if it would end up getting, you know,
confiscated by the government,
if it's whatever.
I felt like $1.2 million in actual regular money was a safer bet.
What would you do in that circumstance?
Would you ride it out with the $7.5 million?
Have this guy threatened to sue you because you'd have,
or potentially somebody comes and kills you for that money?
Who knows?
What would you do?
or sell it for the one.
You probably know which way I'm leaning because of the buyout discussions that we've had with Mark Stoos.
But if I pay $500 and I get $7.8 million inside of that storage unit, I'm going to go all in.
I'm going to ride it out because that was the deal.
Wouldn't you be worried?
Wouldn't you be looking over your back to see if somebody's coming for you?
No, I got $7.8 million.
I'm going to pay for bodyguards.
What if they find out it's stolen and then at some point the government comes and takes it from you?
Well, I guess we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
But I'm going to go all in.
You're going to roll the dice.
All right.
I'm taking a deal.
I'd probably go a little higher
in 1.2 though.
Like you said, I don't want the stress.
If these are shady characters, I don't want to get caught up in that.
I'm in for 500, and I get a couple million.
Never going to complain about that whatsoever.
So I would come to an agreement, but I would try to get a little more.
My math is not the greatest.
You would have sold it for 100,000.
Seven and a half million is a lot more than 1.2 million.
I'm taking it and I'm moving to Mexico,
and I'm putting in some bank overseas,
and they're never going to find me or see me again.
I'm living a happy life.
give me the money you're going down to mexico where the cartel is
oh hang on just a second that's first of all that's a lot of things you just said
number one you're going to mexico where there's a decent chance that's where that money
right are you getting that cash into me number two exactly are you think you're going to carry that
out now carry on to mexico you don't think they'll look at you and go what's that leather bag
with 7.5 million dollars a legion airline doesn't let you put that on your
I've seen those shows.
You're going to put it in a bank with a country that we have extradition rules with
to where if the Americans come, they can take it from you.
So you've not made one smart decision in that.
And you're abandoning your whole life to hide.
Yes, and also you're going to a place where they actually have more access to you
than if you were in America, if that was happened to be where it was from.
Look, and listen.
I've seen those shows where they wrap the money in mustard and they put it in pickle juice
and wrap it was aluminum foil.
You're going to put the money and pickled you.
Yeah, and I'm going to go down there and I'm going to buy a resort in Cancun and I'm going to live out the rest of my life.
Come on down and see me in Cancun, baby.
I don't think it's...
Oh, so you're actually going to advertise that you're there.
Sure, why not?
And then you got the money from a storage unit.
How nice is your $7 million resort going to be?
You have nothing left.
That's the kind of resort he goes to.
I wonder, though, if you got that kind of money, why did you abandon it?
Why couldn't you just pay your monthly fees?
Well, I mean, okay, if we were to gas.
Yeah, drug money.
It was drug money.
Yeah.
Right.
it was drug money people get arrested can't go back and get it that's that's to me that's the most likely
scenario put seven and a half million dollars got arrested for whatever reason can't go and get it he can't
call somebody and say go get my seven and a half million dollars and it's sitting there and then
when it gets gone he gets a notice and somebody's like oh no you think it's i mean that's the most
it's either italian like mafia money yeah but the more likely scenario seven half million dollars in cash
it's drug money that's what it is that he's got to hire somebody from jail
to track you down.
I feel like he could do it.
Yeah, I like my chances.
I got a head start.
So you're staking it.
Ryan has already gotten it taken back from him at this point.
I'm not adding stress to my life when I can just have $2 million and not have to worry about it.
Yeah, I think that's a mistake.
Now, next thing, right now in the LPGA professional golf tournament, they get, so every tournament
gets sponsors exemptions where they're able to invite a couple of people to play.
in their turn. This LPGA tournament in Florida invited Donald Trump's granddaughter.
Okay, Donald Trump's granddaughter, if you've, if you've not seen her, she's like an 18, 19 year
old golfer. She's good, but she's not great, but she's Donald Trump's granddaughter.
She's attractive. I want to say maybe, is it her mom's dating Tiger Woods or something?
Maybe her mom's dating Tiger Woods. So they put her into tournament. She is in dead last,
and she shot like 25 over a par.
Their tournament's getting a lot of criticism for having her in.
Do you think it was a bet?
It's because there are people going,
you could have given that to somebody who actually could have had a shot to win.
What do you make of that?
Well, I'd have to see how good she was before.
Maybe it was just a bad day.
She was good, but like not.
She was going to come in last.
Like, it was definitely going to come in last.
Well, look, somebody's got to come in last.
And you might as well make it Trump's granddaughter,
because now we're talking about it
and giving it more exposure.
So I think it was actually a good decision.
All right.
What about you?
Probably not.
It's the whole taking a spot from someone else.
We have friends that tried to make it in the tour.
And any time there's a sponsor's exemption and some celebrity comes in,
that actually hurts an up-and-coming golfer.
So getting a little golf in the golf weeds there,
but I don't like the – here, take someone else's spot
because your grandpa is so-and-so.
What about you?
I really don't care.
I'm sitting on the beach drinking a margarita with my $7.5 million.
Is that going to be your answer to everything for now?
But really, when will we ever talk about the LPGA tour?
Probably never.
Probably never.
So this at least draw some attention to the tour and to the event
that nobody would have even known what was going on if they had invited her.
But who won the event?
Exactly.
We're talking about someone shooting 25.
We lost.
We're talking about the loser of the event.
We can't name the event where it was.
Who was in it?
We just know someone came in last because they can't play off.
You would think that she would have learned a thing or two from her granddad about cheating at golf and maybe, you know, not coming last.
True.
I'm going to surprise you here.
I think it's perfectly, totally understandable.
Because nobody cares about the LPGA tour.
No offense to the LPGA.
I mean, nobody does.
You're exactly right.
We're talking about it.
But the other thing is they might have sold some tickets.
Maybe you get lucky and Tiger Woods comes.
Or if Donald Trump comes, I don't think he did.
But like, so I get it.
I don't, I mean, if you're against this, don't give out sponsors exemptions.
There you go.
But when you give out sponsors exemptions, they're going to use it for something like this.
So it actually, oddly, doesn't bother me.
Yeah, using it as a way to possibly promote what you're doing.
So I think it makes perfect sense.
I mean, I think sometimes if a sports struggle, remember when Master P played in like the G League or something?
Yeah.
Yeah, I mean, like, I understand doing that.
Who's up next?
Got Terry up next.
Terry.
Go ahead, Terry.
Okay, Matt, you referenced the Purdue game, the exhibition game.
Who didn't play in that game for us?
Well, Jalen Lowe and Aberdeen.
That's right.
Well, Aberdeen did play.
Jaylen Lowe did play.
Aberding played.
So I think they can overrun it.
Here's what bothers me about if this is a long-term deal.
They're going to really now be very, very, very cautious with Quatant.
And he may not play.
because Lowe got hurt.
He tried to come back.
He got hurt.
He's out for the year.
Jane Quatins is a lottery pick.
I'm just worried that now we're going to lose them both.
And I don't know that we can overcome both of them.
Maybe well.
It's a fair question.
Yeah, it's a fair question.
That's an interesting thought.
I hadn't thought about that connection, but that's a possibility.
It would be such a sad state of Kentucky luck if you took the,
two guys that probably have the most talent on the team and then neither one of them plays
like the rest of you.
Like that would that would be the most but unlucky situation.
And then take about what happened last year.
You know, Butler gets hurt, Crease gets hurt.
Robinson was hurt for some of the year.
Andrew Carr was the long stretch.
I mean, that would just, you talk about bad luck on some level, you know?
You know, I hadn't thought about that, but Terry said, but they may do take that approach.
Now, to be a little more cautious with Jaden Quaidenson and to make sure he's 100% ready to come back
for the try to push him on the floor.
I mean, we may not know the answer to this until Mark Pope's pregame interview with Tom Leach today.
Or maybe not even until the post-game press conference.
So we'll see.
I mean, I feel like this is a little worse than the first of was, but we'll see if it ends up being season.
We're going to take a break and be right back.
We are here at Infinity Rooftop Bar.
This is KSR.

Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing,
we get so wrapped up in the chase
that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough
because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,
because you find it important to be a good person
while you hear on earth.
Are you a good person because you're afraid
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

Life throws hurdles big and small.
The question is, how do you conquer them?
On Hurtle with Emily Abadi, we sit down with the most inspiring women in sports.
and wellness, professional athletes, coaches, and Olympic champions to talk about the challenges
that shaped them and the mindset that keeps them going.
From the WNBA standout Kate Martin and rising hockey star Layla Edwards.
If a boy can do it, I don't see why a girl can't.
Like, I've never understood that.
Like, it didn't make sense in my brain.
It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you, but don't ever feel like you don't
feel like you don't feel like.
Don't let that be the reason you don't do it.
An Olympic champs, Gabby Thomas and Katie Ladeki.
The ability to show a gold medal to someone and have their,
face light up and smile. That means the world to me. And that's what motivates me to win more gold medals.
At our level, at this scale, like being able to fail in front of the entire world. Like, I can do
anything. I can, like, I can do anything. Because resilience isn't just about winning. It's about
showing up, even when it's hard. Listen to Hurtle with Emily Abadi on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports.
Jacob Kingston grew up in an isolated polygamous sect.
We were God's chosen kingdom on earth.
He felt destined for greatness.
So when a swaggering Armenian businessman catapults Jacob into an extraordinary world, he doesn't look back.
Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, meeting the president of Turkey.
I'm Michelle McPhee, and this is one of the most shocking criminal conspiracies I've ever come across.
When Jacob met Levant this went to a billion-dollar fraud.
But with two kings from entirely different worlds, just how long can their empire survive?
The largest tax investigation in American history.
You need to tell me what you know.
Is somebody coming after me?
Jacob told Levan, you're ruining my life.
Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
it is Kentucky Sports Radio here live at the Infinity Rooftop.
They just brought us some food.
It is awesome.
We'll talk about that in the second, but first, cornbread hemp.
Just real quick, you know if you've listened to me that they inserted into the government bill opening up the government a ban on full-spectrum hemp products.
That's a big boo.
You now have one year before it goes into effect, so it can still be reversed, even though McConnell and a lot of the same.
Senators entered it in.
Go talk to your representative.
Learn more at cornbread hemp.com.
It goes into effect one year from when they pass the bill.
So hopefully there's still time to get it reversed.
And I also just personally want to give a shout out to Rand Paul for his work on that,
which you'll not hear me say a lot.
But on this issue, I certainly can do.
And Shannon, I'm having to purchase my, trying to figure out if I can get 30 years
worth of sleep products.
I know, right?
Me and you both.
Like, I'm stocking up right now just in case.
now just in case. All right, a couple things here. First of all, have you seen the woman at Boise State
plays on the Boise State volleyball team and she's a Shannon, a goth chick? Oh, okay.
Actually, I don't know if they like the word chick. Goth woman. Yes. And she dresses,
she plays volleyball for Boise State in got got white paint on her face. So she paints her face like
a goth singer and plays in it. And like now she's getting NIL deals from,
like goth clothing brands and stuff because she's actually a pretty good player she starts for them
and is now doing uh uh golf ads because she plays in all goth paint what do you think about that
how would u k react if one of our national championship volleyball players had goth pain now you're
thinking exactly what i'm thinking like imagine like if oscar she boy back in the day was goth
and he came out like wearing goth and like long earrings and like eyeliner and the whole deal like how
we react i like that you picked oscar
Because he would be like the less likely one of the players I can imagine never doing it.
That's a great question.
If Oscar Shebawe was gone, what would our fan base say?
I like that she's doing it.
I don't know if Oscar could pull it off.
But you got to have your own personal brand in college in this NIL world.
She's not at one of the bigger schools.
You mentioned she's getting NIL deals.
There's probably an intimidation factor when she looks across the net.
I say go for it.
So we want to come out and dress like Kiss.
We could come out and just play a game like that.
you can play like you. I would think there would be some sort of restriction against it.
Have you seen society lately to whatever you want?
ESPN has a story on her.
So clearly like today, I mean, she's making attention.
Tell me, speaking of stories, tell the story about the guy at Eastern Illinois we played in his connection to Kentucky.
My guy, Miche White, I had no idea. He's as popular as he was until I posted last night, but he's from Louisville,
played at Louisville Mail, led them over to Rup back-to-back years as junior and senior year,
went to Juco for two seasons because he wasn't getting a lot of offers out of Louisville Mail.
and ends up at Eastern Illinois.
Turns out, huge Kentucky fan.
His mom reached out to me, sent me a bunch of pictures.
He even has a selfie with Matt at KS. Bar.
There's pictures of him in the crowd at Rupp.
This isn't like, oh, I had a UK hat when I was little.
I liked him.
This is a diehard fan.
And when I put that out last night, he even replied to me,
keep in mind, he's in the team hotel as an opponent,
and he tweeted, I bleed blue.
So, you know, we want Kentucky to have a big game,
but Mici White is living a dream,
even though it's on the other team.
So root for him.
He's their starting point guard.
Just a big cat's fan since he was born.
And glad his mom shared that last night.
There's a picture of him cheesing with me at KSmo.
I mean, we are like cheesing like we're the best of friends.
I don't remember when we took that.
Can he say?
Walk over to our team?
Yeah, no kidding.
Maybe we need him.
What I would say is when he comes into game tonight or if he starts, whatever.
I hope everybody gives that him a big round of applause.
The Kentucky fan getting up.
I mean, think about his dream here, Ryan.
I mean, it grows up a Kentucky fan.
Now it's going to get to play in Rupp Arena tonight.
We want to kick his tail, but I hope everybody gives him a big round of applause.
I remember when he played for Mail on the Sweet 16.
Drew reminded me they played against Frederick Douglas.
And so for him to come back now and get to play against Kentucky,
I'm sure it's going to be one of the highlights of his life.
Yeah, so very, very cool.
Who's next?
Got Dustin up next.
Dustin, go ahead, Dustin.
Hey, guys.
I got a statement and then got a couple of questions, and I'll get off and I'll listen to you guys.
So I think the statement would be, you know, I feel like we're playing soft, slow, and selfish basketball
the last couple games.
I think when I look into the future, would it be, you know, would it be out of the line to say
Braden Hawthorne doesn't red shirt and that he actually can play a little bit this year?
Yeah, I don't think on the other side of that.
I mean, why?
Like, right?
I mean, he doesn't play in the position where the.
guy got hurt. So what's the what's the point? I agree. I think the guy that got hurt is let's just say he's
out for the rest of the year. I mean, then we can switch literally everything just like we did in the
Purdue game. That's why we were so efficient on. Yeah, we can, but I think he's playing a position.
I mean, if Cam Williams or Trent Noah does what they're supposed to, I don't think you need Bradford.
But now if one of those guys got hurt, then maybe that's a different conversation. We'd have to wait and see.
And then my last one is, did you see that Darren Peterson is going to set out for the rest of the year
and focus his time on the NBA draft?
And then do you think Jade and Quaidon plays?
Wait, wait, is that Peterson thing true?
When did that come out?
I don't think that's true.
Unless it came out this morning.
Pete Nocos posted it on Twitter.
Well, he works for the brand.
Well, if he says that, then I haven't seen that yet.
If that's true, that's a shame.
and Kansas should be pretty upset
because they would have been good with him.
I'm sitting here looking.
I do not see that as a story
by Pete Naco.
So you might have gotten...
And Pete is the college football insider.
Yeah, you might have gotten...
A-eyed or scammed on that one, sir.
And then do you think Jaden plays before...
I like he just keeps going.
You know what?
I go well.
Maybe I got scammed.
You know what?
Let's keep going.
Now, go ahead.
Do I see what he saw?
What?
It's not a real account.
It's not a real account.
says 274 sports, not 20.
Yeah.
You got to be careful, man.
You got to be careful.
These people are out here on the streets trying to fool you.
27 hours a day.
What was your final question?
Do you think Jay-Q played before Christmas?
And if he does, watch the starting line-up.
If you made me bet, I appreciate to call.
I would say, okay, that's too many questions.
That's a lot of questions.
I think he plays, but I think it's sometime in January, if you made me guess.
But would I be shocked if he came back before Christmas?
No.
And I wouldn't be shocked honestly, Ryan, if he doesn't play.
But I do think he probably plays, and it's sometime early to mid-January.
Every report you get on him, he's getting closer, getting him better, doing this, doing that.
I think he's getting to the point where maybe he can get on the court maybe before Christmas.
But why not just be safe?
Why not just take him and keep him as long as you can, get him ready for conference play?
I could see a world where what's the game they have between Christmas and New Year's at Bellarmine?
I could see a world where he played that game, just like is, okay, let's see what happens.
Yeah, they're going to need them against Bellarmine.
Better watch out.
Bellarman's like awful.
They're terrible.
They're terrible. They really are.
They're struggling with that transition.
Yeah, they really are because they're not spending any money.
Yeah.
And so that hurts them.
We'll take a break.

You could do it.
Thanksgiving brunch buffet on Thanksgiving Day.
They've been giving us a lot of food.
They've cooked here, the burger.
I don't know what this thing was, but it was awesome.
What is this?
It's cool a breakfast sandwich.
It is outstanding.
It's great.
And desserts.
It's all here.
And we're going to give away this big gift.
package in just a minute. We've got some breaking news, Rick. The field of 68. That's the Jeff
Goodman thing. And let me say when it comes to Mark Pope News, I think with national reporters,
Jeff Goodman is probably going to be as good as you get because they're actually, he's actually
close to him. This is their report on Jalen Lowe. Jailen Lowe will meet with doctors today to
reassess his shoulder injury and determine whether surgery is necessary. According to the source,
this morning's imaging and MRI showed no more damage to the shoulder than was sustained before.
Lowe, his family, the UK staff, and medical personnel will review everything today.
His status for Friday night's game is up in the air as they evaluate options and they may also seek a second opinion.
So I guess that's a little bit of good news.
Yeah.
If they're saying that it's not certainly won't play tonight, then that must mean like, it's not terrible damage.
It's better than the image you're showing something new.
Yeah, that's the good news.
But it does sound like, I mean, this is probably what it is.
Because there's a dude who wrote me last night talking to me.
This is the kind of thing.
This can keep happening all year.
And at some point he's probably going to have to get it fixed.
And the question is just how long do you want to wait?
And do you want to get through the year to play it?
Or do you want to just say we're going to try to take care of it?
So we'll see what ends up happening.
It's completely unnecessary for him to play tonight.
So I think that's out of the question.
Like you don't even need them tonight.
But yeah, I mean, I can see this being a recurring thing that happens.
And, you know, we just have to deal with it on a game-to-game basis.
It's kind of what happened with Butler.
Yeah.
Seems like we said the exact same thing about Lamont Butler.
He just kind of play through it.
He may tweak it now and then.
They have to sit out a game, rest it, get him back going.
I don't know.
I take that as good news, that report.
I do, too, generally speaking.
I mean, I don't know if it changes anything, but it's a little bit more confirmation to what I talked about this morning.
All right, let's talk football for a second.
Tennessee Tech's coach, I thought I had interesting comments drew about this game.
Tennessee Tech's coach said essentially, I hate that we're playing this game.
It really makes me mad we have to play this game.
I didn't schedule this game.
I don't want to play this game.
They're playing U.T. Martin next week for the conference tournament championship.
The winner gets to go to the FCS tournament.
Winners in, losers out.
It's for first place.
And he's like, that game matters.
This game does not matter.
I do not know why we're playing this game.
I mean, he was like, I know we're playing it for money, but I hate it.
His exact word was, I hate that we're playing this game.
I think for people worried that we're going to lose, Drew, that's some pretty good news,
because it sounds like the coach may be taking the view of, I ain't giving my players hurt
because I got to play next week.
Yeah, sounds like all the motivation is on the Kentucky sideline in Mark Stoops,
and their coach has zero motivation for this game.
I already thought Kentucky's going to be fine tomorrow.
I know their stats are incredible.
their quarterback's got a million yards and 25 touchdowns,
but they are playing schools I've never heard of.
I can't tell you what state they're in.
Some of them on ESPN,
you can't even click them to go to their team profile
because it doesn't exist.
So these are the teams they're playing.
We are an SEC football team that just beat Florida by 30.
If it's not a blowout, then it's bad look.
But it also sounded like to me in his quotes, Ryan,
that he might just not play some of his good guys so they don't get hurt.
I mean, he literally was like, I've never heard a coach say,
I don't want to be playing this game.
Have you ever heard that before?
Never.
Have I heard that?
You know, that's going to rub off on his guys.
So, yeah, if he's looking at next week,
he's going to try to tiptoe through this game and get out of without any injuries as much as possible.
It's a loser's mentality.
If you're like the player for that team and you hear your coach say that,
like what motivation do you have to even come out and try?
They can just save themselves the gas and stay home.
We'll just take the forfeit win.
Yeah, why don't we both just be like, let's take a Saturday off?
Yeah, healthy.
That's right.
You're not going to hear that very often.
No, you're not.
And it is a fascinating thing to say, but it actually makes me feel better, right?
It makes me feel better that that's going to be, that that's their mindset.
Who's up next?
Mike is up next.
Mike, go ahead, Mike.
Hey, man, I just, I kind of wanted to put a little positive spin on this Jaylon Loe thing.
I mean, it's never positive that he got hurt.
But I think Aberdeen's better at the point than we thought.
And I think that will be better defensively.
And I really do think JQ will play at some point.
And I think we'll even get better defensively.
with him. And if I have confidence in Mark Pope's fixing anything, it's the offensive end,
because we do all consider him better on the offensive end. And he figured out last year with
Amari Williams playing point guard. I think he can figure it out with everything. I actually think
you're not totally wrong. I do think our defense will be better without Lowe. I mean,
that's true. I mean, our defense will be better because Lowe, listen, I'm the biggest Lowe fan. He's a bad
defender and you have to hide him if you're going to play him on defense so our defense will be better
i don't think the team is better because you know you're still going to need him to create
offense but you're exactly right i think you make a good point if if mark pope's going to fix
anything he's got a better chance of fixing the offense than the defense that's his strength
i also think oh way will be a lot better because the way that low plays he's very ball dominant
he is he is but i don't know if i want oh way i don't know if i want oh way
way to be ball dominant because I don't know that that's his straight be.
He's not.
He's down in the lane and, you know, constantly is what I'm saying.
And O'way can't be.
It kind of be what he was last year because, you know,
Lowe's kind of doing that.
I'm not saying I want O'A to play point guard.
I'm just saying, you know.
No, I mean, you make a valid point.
Your point, I appreciate the call.
If you, Drew, if you have Aberdeen point guard,
you can switch every position and you should be able to play better defense.
Now, you can do that if you don't screw it up like we did against Louis.
I mean, we, again, I don't want to pick on Brandon Garrison, but Brandon Garrison,
you go back.
There's a Twitter account that took the Garrison defensive plays where they hit four out of five threes.
They put that on his NBA highlight real one day.
I mean, it was awful.
He's got to be better than that.
Yeah, last year he had a couple games, I think one against Jeremiah fears, maybe in both games against them,
where he was switching.
I mean, he really looked a little like.
like when Collie Stein would do it. I'm not saying he's Colley Stein, but he did it like
twice. And they needed him to make that jump this year and do it more. And what we've seen so
far doesn't look like he has that. Those might have just been games where he was locked in
and it looked good, but that doesn't look like it's going to be a consistent Brandon Garrison
performance. You know, the big guy that did the best on the switches was Yellovich. No, no doubt.
Yellivich. Give me more Yelovich. There's a play where Mikhail Brown is sitting there trying to cross
Yelovich over and dude is sliding his feet. And I'm like, who's that guy? I didn't see that coming.
I mean, he was, he might have been the best dude we had on the team in keeping himself in front of Mikhail Brown, which I did not see coming.
A week and a half ago, a kid called in and said, well, you start a second fan club.
And I said, the Giellovich fan club's open now.
We just created it.
He had Chandler, my two.
I want more of them.
Yeah.
No, I mean, that was very, very impressive.
Let's do draft kings.
We're going to make our, well, let's first of all make our picks for tomorrow for our parlay.
It's been a little cold.
Been a little bit cold.
We got to make it better
This one's got to be one we get
So I'm sitting here
I'll go ahead and give you mine first
While you guys are looking
I'm going to go Texas in Georgia
Georgia is a six and a half point favorite
They're at home
I think Texas has been a little bit of fools gold
They haven't played great teams
I'm going to take Georgia to cover the six and a half
And to win at home
Shannon what's your
All right LSU is at home ticket on Arkansas
LSU is a five and a half
favorite give me LSU in the five and a half
Oh, so you like the interim coach getting the victory.
Let's do it.
All right, Georgia, LSU.
Let's go, Drew.
I like that one, Shannon.
I was actually looking at that.
I'm going to stay in the SEC.
We're going to all SEC.
This is a little high, but Ole Miss is hosting Florida.
I just think Florida is in shambles.
Those guys are already looking for their next school.
Their coaches are already looking for their next job.
It's an 11-5, but in Oxford, they have a lot to play for,
and Florida is just wanting this year to end.
It's only 11 and a half.
Yeah.
I'd like it under 10, obviously.
So I think Florida, we're just going to see them tank the rest of the way.
So we're taking Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss.
What about you?
I don't have a good one.
Do you like Michigan over Penn State?
I'm not going to like anything you pick, so you're just going to have to do it.
Michigan gets a point in a half at Penn State.
I mean, it's your call.
Let's do that.
And that's how the parlay did it.
I hit last week.
I've hit like two in a row.
He has.
To be fair, I lost last week he won.
So Georgia Oldman.
LSU and Michigan to cover.
We won two of our first three, been on a cold streak.
We're going to finish strong.
Yeah, with this one.
I like it.

It's Kentucky Sports Radio here live, an affinity rooftop.
Two things.
First of all, I want to say a big show.
shout out to one of my co-hosts here, Drew Franklin.
We did two podcasts this week that I think are two of the best ones we've done.
One of them was on my interrupted.
We did the news.
Billy was also funny.
Billy genuinely made me laugh once, which is maybe never happened until this last
podcast.
Like, genuine, your line about Luke Skaw Walker generally made, genuinely made me laugh.
And then Drew was hilarious.
I think the news that we just did, if you want something to listen to this weekend, it was great.
And then I think our cover zero podcast was the best one we've done,
especially if you like our style.
I don't know what the NFL is going to think.
We ended up talking about Tiger Beat magazine.
I don't know if that's what they want in their podcast.
So if you want two hours of laughing, these last two, Drew,
I was very proud of both of those podcasts with you.
I agree.
Had a lot of fun doing them.
Just further proves, but I've thought for many years,
I don't know while we're wasting our time talking about sports.
I need the random topics.
That's where I throw out.
Well, he has a line.
I'm not going to spoil it,
but he has a lot on the interrupted podcast that it may be the funniest thing that you've said.
Secondly, who was your pick again in the draft Kings thing?
Michigan at Penn State.
Okay, we have some breaking news, Rick.
Oh, no. Is it next week?
Penn State plays Michigan State this week, and Penn State's a seven-and-a-half-point favor.
So you not only did not get the spread right, you didn't even get the teams right.
Wow.
And so your pick, your pick is not even in the game.
Wow.
So I think you're going to have to pick a gift.
How did you get both?
What's amazing about that, Shannon, is not only did he make up Penn State playing Michigan, he made up a different spread.
I know what he did.
I'll see what he did.
He somehow got on college hockey.
Because Penn State and Michigan.
One and a half.
Hockey's always.
You did not go to college hockey.
Wait, let's include it.
There it is.
I think we include it.
Three football games and a hockey.
I think we go for it.
Alternate spread.
I just searched Michigan, and that's what popped up.
Wait a minute.
You kept a college hockey game?
Yeah, I see it now.
Can we do that?
Can we do the hockey?
Can we do it?
Ask them.
When is it?
When is the game?
It's got to be tomorrow.
It can't be denied.
It's true.
It's to be sad.
It's today.
It's never mind.
I'll tell you what.
I'm going to on my own bet Michigan
minus 1.5 in hockey against Penn State.
You're going to need to pick a new game.
Well, you're going to have to give me a minute here.
I got to search through the old draft Kings app.
By the way, you want to know the balance my draft king's account?
What?
0.00 after the Louisville game and after the Alabama-Purdue game last night.
You bet you bet on Alabama?
Zero. Of course I did.
I think we know why if you're betting hockey instead of football.
He went big on Alabama hockey.
And he was there like, it's not a big sport down here, man.
Who's up next?
What is Cooper.
Even Rick's laughing at him.
Even Rick is laughing at you now.
Go ahead.
You guys is crazy.
You guys is crazy.
That's right.
Go ahead.
Hey, thanks for taking my call, guys.
I got a couple comments and what you guys think.
We'll be good with Averdy.
When you're running the point, you have a different mindset.
a facilitator. You're the guy that sets everyone up, and it's going to take away from his game as far as
I agree with that, which is why Oway has to be better. O way has to be better. If Aberdeen's going to be
point guard, O'A has to be better because he can't have games like he had against Louisville,
because for the exact reason you just said. Yeah, well, with O'A, his head was somewhere else. I don't
know where it is right now, but it's not where it was last year.
The Louisville game.
I can't remember.
It's been a while.
I'm old and I forget.
I cannot remember when I've seen, I don't want to use this word, but I will, a more
dominant back court.
That team right there, that Louisville team, they're legit.
No, they're very good.
Yeah, Cromwell and Brown are a great combination because you get.
a freshman with NBA talent, and then you get a senior college player that plays really well.
I mean, you're exactly right.
I mean, there are better back courts.
I think like Fox and Monk remind me of that, you know, Ulyss and Murray.
But you're right.
I mean, that's a great back court, and the freshman senior duo, I think, is really good.
Matt, they had 53, 56 points.
Now, here's something else that you've got to look at.
they had three players who had nine points.
What that means is they're three points away from five players
having double-digit points.
Yeah, but we had that.
I mean, we've had that before.
I mean, that's impressive, but like, and I appreciate the call.
I don't think the rest of their starters.
I don't think the rest of the starters are that great.
I mean, like, you got a three-point shooter in the, in,
what I remember his name at some point?
McNeely.
He got 15 a game in Virginia.
It was good.
I mean, they're good.
But, like, the reason they're good is Brown and Cromwell.
And then I'll also note, you know, Aaliyah, or excuse me, Califa and Fruh, they do what Amari Williams did for us last year.
They're at the top of the key.
Guys are cutting off of them.
They're passing.
Like, they kind of do what Amari did.
And what worries me about Brandon Garrison, Ryan, is I don't know if he can do that.
I took a lot of heat for my comment yesterday about Mo Diabate at the Five.
People are like, oh, you're an idiot.
Mo Diabate.
My reasoning is Mo Diabate is that passer that we need at the five.
Forget about it.
Size, that top of the key having guys run off of him.
Diabate, I think, going to do that better, Ryan, than Brandon Garrison is going to do it.
I almost think when you play a team like Louisville, maybe you should do that, put him at the five and put four shooters out there.
A team like Alabama last night, somebody like that.
But when Garrison gets the ball at the top of the key, he can make that shot.
but he is not a great passer.
And when he dribbles, I think there are babies that cry.
And so the combination of those things, Drew, makes me not necessarily want him to have the ball right there.
Yeah, and in hindsight, I know it's not Pope's style.
He likes pulling his center out and doing that five out.
But I still believe Kentucky has a significant front court advantage over Louisville, even with Garrison.
Just Marino, Yellovich, the collective, but they didn't really use that much.
It's not his style of doing it, but I wonder if they had gone inside a little more and tried to lean on that.
Did you see the UK U of L fight?
Did you see the UK fan punched the U of L fan in the lobby of the Yom Center?
Is that the guy that broke his nose and had blood all over the –
Did you see the punch?
No, but I saw the aftermath.
It looked like a murder scene.
I mean, the punch was like –
It had to be good.
I'm kind of surprised the guy honestly didn't get arrested.
Yeah.
I mean, he knocked the blank out of him.
And then the aftermath was not pretty either.
Let's good to see the robberies back to where it was before.
We're punching each other, knocking each other out, breaking noses.
That's what it's all about.
Is that good?
Well, I mean, Drew got punched in the-
I didn't break my nose.
You got hit harder a little bit.
Well, they got hit you in the face first.
All right, let's go quick.
Tennessee Tech, Kentucky, give me a score.
Tennessee Tech game, Kentucky.
I think the spread went from like 22 to 20.
It went down, didn't it?
Give me a score.
I'm going to say Kentucky, 49, Tennessee Tech, 21.
Drew.
45-14.
See it.
51-17.
I'll go 4110.
UK basketball tonight against Eastern Illinois.
East Illinois, I know the coach, Marty Simmons,
but he's going to come in here and go home crying.
Geesee O'Eightonoy loses about 35.
I'll say 8550.
88-54.
105-68.
105.
That'll be fun.
8159.
I think it'll be sluggish for a little while,
and then we'll find our pace.
Let's talk scheduling really quick.
Pre-game show 4.30.
Come watch at the bar or go watch the game at the bar at 7 o'clock tonight.
Tomorrow morning, our pre-game show starts at 9.30.
Bar opens at 10.
So we're opening an hour early so you can come in and get ready for the game.
Games at 1.30.
I'll be doing the post-game show tonight.
Saturday, we'll do it from the road.
And then be watching on Sunday as we are in Buffalo.
Ryan, enjoy.
What is it?
Sean Cassidy.
