Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Hey, what's good, y'all? You're listening to Learn the Hardway with your favorite therapist
and host, Kear Games. This space is about black men's experiences, having honest
conversations that it's really not safe to have anywhere, but you're having them with a licensed
professional who knows what he's doing. How many men carry a suit or armor? It signals to
the world that you're not to be played with. And just because you have the capabilities,
that does not mean that you need to.

Welcome back. Hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio, 859-280, 2287.
Getting you ready for the Champions Classic.
4 o'clock is the pregame show.
You can come watch the game at the bar.
6.30, get your table, cheer.
Had some good success.
Last year, it was a great atmosphere for the Duke game.
This segment is sponsored by the V at the Vine.
Drew knows this place.
It's open to the public to make your reservations now.
Great food, great vibes, and sweeping views of downtown Lexington.
This is the new kind of elegant restaurant in Lexington.
When you walk into Rup Arena, it's an experience.
Same goes for the Vine.
You got handcrafted made from scratch cocktails,
a coastal-inspired menu from chef Cole Arimms.
Yeah.
From Coles.
Oh, they took him?
Well, he has both.
but you know.
Oh, okay.
They use only the finest ingredients and their highly trained service staff is passionate.
Whether it's a quick bite before the game or a night out with friends,
go to the V at the Vine.
It is now taking public reservations.
I know.
I see you.
I see your thing.
I want to go there.
Let's go.
Take any time.
I mean,
literally right there.
That's very nice.
Right there.
Will you pay?
Yeah.
Wow.
It's right there.
Man,
I just got invited Shannon.
Annie's paying.
Wow.
That's going to be a first, right?
I know.
He's a good guy.
Generish.
All right.
So Kentucky in the Champions
Classic in Madison Square Garden,
we're three and one.
Three and one.
We beat Kansas in 20,
that was the Anthony Davis team,
crushed them.
And we've beaten Michigan State twice,
2015,
2016 season and 2019 season.
Then we lost to Duke the game
that Drew mentioned.
So we're three and one.
Beating two and O
against Michigan State and Madison Square Garden.
So we can't jinx it.
Just leave it alone right now.
I don't know what that means.
He said we're two in all against Michigan State and then...
But how am I going to leave it alone?
They got to play tonight.
They have to play.
We can't get out of it again.
We don't need to talk about their record anymore.
I just did.
I know, just leave it alone.
It's good now.
We got it out there.
They just announced next year's game.
Chicago, Kansas.
Well, we go to Chicago and play Kansas.
There's not a place called Chicago and Kansas.
There you go.
All right, cool.
A couple things I want to talk about before we get back to phones.
You watch the James Garfield show.
My mom and dad and I watched it
its entirety over the weekend and my dad loved it. Did you like it? I did like it. It's really good,
it's really good. So he said to thank you for the recommendation. You're very welcome. Tom Wombscams.
He steals the show. Ron Swanson is in it. The dude from Lexington, Michael Shannon. Good show.
Really good show. Our facial hair. Very factual. A lot of it. We looked it up. We looked it up.
Oh, so you checked the historical accuracy. Yes. Yeah. Wow. Wow. And it was very factual.
Yeah, it really was.
Well, good.
I'm glad.
So you is, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I try, I'm on episode four.
I kind of fell asleep last night because I was so tired.
But looking forward to finish it.
All right.
We all have, I think, Mario, I taught Mario about this,
or Billy about this girl yesterday,
but I have my new favorite player that's not a Kentucky player.
Okay.
Audie, is it Crooks?
Audie Crooks.
Have you seen this girl?
Shannon, this woman?
She plays for Iowa State.
She's awesome.
Yeah. All right. She
crushes people.
I mean, Shaq
at his finest was not
Audie crooks. Can't stop her.
Cannot stop her. Nope. She gets the ball
in the post and says,
out of my way. It's over.
It is over.
She had 43 points in
21 minutes the other.
Whoa.
Unstomable.
And like she's bigger than everybody.
But that's not it.
That's part of it.
But she's got pretty quick feet for somebody her size.
And she gives you a little hootie-to.
And if you're not ready for the hooshy-to, she just knocks you over.
And luckily the refs, they let them play.
They're not going to let you flop.
There's video of her.
Iowa State playing Valpo.
You need to go look.
I'm sure you've seen it, but if you haven't seen it, you need to go look at the highlight clip.
It is two minutes of her.
using these girls.
Doing whatever she wants.
I mean, whatever she wants.
She goes through them.
She goes around them.
She fadeaways.
Right hand, left hand.
And they're good.
Their team is good.
Like she's not like a novelty act.
They're good.
And she is going to be a star this year.
I think she's like a junior.
I've seen her before.
But she's done something in the offseason
because now she's just destroying people.
Have you seen her play?
Oh, yes.
And the fact that she's a big,
woman, you think that's the main
reason she's going to be a scar. I knew not to go
to him. But she is. She's a big woman.
I'm going to put you to the side. Drew.
Let me finish my point. I don't. I don't. I'm trying to help
you.
All right? You don't know.
Ryan gets away with it. You don't
know. She's a big woman. I never said
that. I said
Shannon, you. Yeah. Well, you
want me to do about it. I want you to mute it.
Okay.
She is fun to watch.
and she's awesome.
Yes.
She had a good sophomore season, but her junior year, her numbers are incredible.
It's 43 points in 21 minutes.
She's averaging, it's like 28, it's close to 30 points,
but she's shooting almost 80% from the field.
And it's not like she's shooting 80% from the field.
It's like 77, something like it's really high.
And it's not like she's just on the block, you know, laying it up.
She's got turnarounds.
Yeah, she's smooth.
I mean, they're smooth.
Just like you said, just type her name and Twitter, YouTube, and watch the highlights,
and it will not let you down.
She's, I mean, a little Yokic-esque, I mean, not, you know, Yokic is one of the best players of all time.
But like, the footwork is pretty impressive.
And I don't know what these, I don't know what those girls at Valpo were supposed to do.
Like what were they going to do?
They should have just gotten back on the bus and gone home.
That's why that highlight video is entertaining.
I mean, poor Valpo women's team, just go home.
But you're right.
She's only a few games in her junior.
year. Just now, the brand is getting out there. She's going to be a star. She's going to be a star.
If they stay good, because they're pretty good. If they stay good, that is your, you know,
what was the name of the guy on NC State, DJ Burns? It's that, but she might, but like
her size differential is even greater than his, so it's even more amazing. And they love her.
She's like homegrown Iowa. I think she was Iowa, Miss basketball, has all the high school
record, so she's just adding on to her career right now. I know they just had Caitlin Clark
at the other Iowa. Not going to get in that territory, but she is a huge star in the making.
She's my new, what do you call it? What was our nickname for the guy from Indiana State?
Cream Abdul-Jabbar. She's my new Cream Abdul-Jabbar. Although he's still playing. He's in St. Louis
this year. Also, I had to give a shout to Reed Shepard. Five straight games of at least
14 points of game starting to come on at 21 the other night.
night. Now, he tripped a guy. What do you think about that part? You know, a guy had it.
He was asking for it. He needed to be tripped. He needed to be tripped. Sometimes he didn't go out of
face. Sometimes when you get hit in the face, you got to trip him. But Reed, who started off
the year very poorly, starting to come on. Now, I have a question for you, though. You were saying
on KS. Board that there's a lot of Reed negativity. Where do you think our fan base is with
Reed right now? I am actually stunned that what seems like a
I'm not going to act like it's this huge percentage of the fan base,
but there are several people who have not forgiven him
for wearing the Arkansas gear.
I don't know that I've seen it this year,
but even last season in Rupp before the games
they'd scroll NBA players how they're doing.
I mean, there would be some booze for Reed Shepard.
Not a ton, but just the fact that there's any still blows my mind.
See, the vast majority of people are still very pro.
I would hope so, but I will say when we have a threat on KS. Board,
and I love KSboard.
I know you are listening.
There's a lot of negativity, though, on KS.
I mean, when I read, like, it's a message.
board.
You know, there's part of me.
It's like, come on, like, this is K.
Where do you think this came from?
And they're like, so I get it.
But I'm just shocked in general that there are people that I don't think they'll
ever forgive him.
I didn't think that would be the case.
I thought it was dumb to do it.
I didn't even care in the moment.
I just thought it's bad decision making.
Now we're almost a year later and people have not gotten over that.
Well, it clearly represents some faction of the fan base.
Are you, is anyone on this show still perturbed at Reed Shepard?
Not even a little bit.
No.
I've thought about it twice since it happened, and we brought it up twice on this show.
That's when I thought about it.
It was dumb, but I root for him to try to watch every game I can.
I find myself pulling for him.
So I don't have any.
I mean, he's from the mountains, right?
So I can't help but be.
He's 13th region, man.
He is diehard Kentucky through and through.
It was a bad PR move.
It was a bad move.
I don't know what I told him to do that.
That was really dumb.
But beyond that, I can't.
Now, if he shows up, if he does.
it again. If it doubles down, that's going to
If he does it again. If we're going to get
the hate, you might as well just double down and do it again.
Oh, you want him to wear an Arkansas shirt every year
at the game? So what's the difference? I mean, people
are already hating it because he did it a year ago. People get over stuff, though.
Oh, clearly, yeah, a year later, they haven't gotten over it.
But if they just keep doubled down on it, that would be different.
All Arkansas, no Kentucky at all. Shorts and shirt.
You do nothing to be in charge of his PR either. No.
Well, the replies to like, there's a clip of him looking like
Grayson Allen, which will defend. The guy hit him in the face first.
But the plaza were like, this is a bad look for Fayetteville, Arkansas,
Arkansas behavior, this is a black eye for the hogs.
Like, those are the comments to it.
I don't think that's the norm, though. I do think, I do think that in general,
KS Board is generally pretty positive place. But when you get on those show threads,
there's that one dude, bagel face McCoy or whatever.
We've had bagel problems in the past.
Some of those people. I think he's on his 20th account.
Yeah, we might need to, some of those people got to go.
Let's go to name.
Go ahead, Nate.
Yeah, hey, Matt and gang.
I'm in your former home, the Raleigh-Durham area, getting married on Saturday.
Oh, congratulations.
Going to celebrate with a Hurricanes game?
Well, that's what I called in to talk about, Matt,
and my Ask Anything question to you.
It got two things is we went to the Edmonton Hurricanes game last Saturday,
and my future father-in-law went to go drop off canned goods at the Hurricanes.
They had a can drive, and it's right outside the stage.
Well, guess who was out there?
Oh, Jacob Slavin.
And so we were taking pictures.
But we stood around there for about 10 or 15 minutes.
Nobody had any clue who this guy was.
Really?
And that's my question.
Oh, it was incredible, man.
I was like, this guy's an Olympian.
He's the best player for the Earth.
So my question would be, are hockey players the most people,
the most unrecognizable people on TV who are millionaires out in public?
Yeah.
I mean, I would say so. I would think so.
I mean, I'm a huge Hurricanes fan, and I could probably recognize by face, Ahos, Vetschnikov, and Slavin.
And that's it.
I think maybe Jarvis, but like most of the guys, I wouldn't recognize.
So you're probably right.
I mean, those dudes make a lot of money.
But, you know, I think about the NFL, I appreciate the call.
I mean, a lot of those NFL guys, do wear a helmet.
I mean, you wear a helmet.
You don't necessarily know what they look like, right?
I mean, the linemen are obvious, but if you get someone that's just, you know, reasonably sized, yeah, definitely.
I've heard UK players in the past kind of admit their jealousy of the basketball players.
You have to remind them like, they go the free throw line.
It's zoomed in on their face on national TV and y'all are wearing helmets all the time.
If we're being honest, how many guys on the Kentucky football team could walk down the street in Lexington?
Everybody know who they were.
Cutter Bowley would.
Yes.
Do you think Seth McGowan, everybody would know what he looks like?
Maybe now.
not when the season started.
I don't know.
I don't, maybe.
Maybe now, yeah.
I'll say Pete.
Yeah.
Cheosh Pete.
He's huge.
Jagger.
I mean...
He grew up here.
I mean, maybe by people who knew him when he was growing up.
How many of the wide receivers?
Do you think there's anyone that knows what Fred Ferrier looks like?
Well, he's from Frankfurt, those people in Frankfurt.
But Cam Miller, DJ Miller, if you put two of them side by side, most people would not know who was here.
Jeremy Macklin, you think a lot of people would know.
what he looks like.
Kendrick Law.
Unless you're like watching the YouTube post-game interviews,
they just don't get much FaceTime.
It's the nature of the sport.
You know, now, obviously the quarterback is a different situation.
But like if you were to rank Kentucky football players by when they would be recognized,
cutter bole would be number one.
Yeah.
I think after that video, Zach Kalsata is number two.
I agree with that.
That's a good call.
Don't you?
Yeah.
Who's three?
Garrett.
I think I's
We don't know what Garrett looks like
But we don't know what Garrett looks like unfortunately
I mean
It's got to be Pete
Just by pure size
It probably would be Shiage Pete
In the long ponytail
But I mean
Alex Safari's an NFL player
Do you think anyone knows him?
Very few I was trying to think
I mean he's been in the bar
Like I told him his girlfriend works at the bar
He's been in the bar
And I didn't realize he was in there
People were like you realize that was just Alex Safari
Yeah that's
the only defensive guy may be Ty Bryant
just because he's from here.
I think you weigh or overestimating the people from here.
Ty Bryant, no one knows.
Unless you went to school with Ty Bryant, they don't know what he looks like.
A lot of people know he looks like.
I don't know what he looks like.
Do you know what he looks like?
I do.
Mario, do you know what he looks like?
All right, well, you all interview.
I'm with you.
I don't know what he looks like.
Yeah, he can walk in here right now.
Anybody can walk in here saying, Ty Bryant.
Okay, hey, Ty.
The Kentucky football fans that get on YouTube
and watch the interview. They'll know.
But the ones that just tune on the game, they just don't get much FaceTime.
But the thing that a lot of our fan base, and a lot of, there is a huge difference between the fan base that watches videos on YouTube, that posts on social media, that goes on KS Board, and the general fans.
One of the things I always say to people, and I have to remind me this to myself, this show is for the general casual fan.
and the hardcore fan forgets those people exist.
But there are more of those people than there are the hardcore fan.
Oh, absolutely.
There are more people who, and it's interesting to me,
when a story breaks into the casuals.
Right.
So the get your money, Garrett, was fascinating because the casuals knew about it.
Yeah.
But that took getting front page CBS.
And I mean, that was a national story.
And Garrett calling this show.
So, yeah, I think the casual.
And I say casual as a positive because I think these are the vast majority of our fans.
They would know Cutter Bowley and Zach Kalsata.
And that's probably, and Shiaz, and that's probably it.
And that goes back to like this past spring.
They should have done a better job introducing some of these guys to the fan base.
We get the norm a little bit.
We'll take a break.
859-280-2287's KS.

It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you,

Don't let that be the reason you don't do it.

I was just sitting here thinking, Shannon, I had no people in my life named Key Brine.
And now there are two key brides.
The Reds have a key brine.
And the Hurricanes have a key brine.
Well, they're not really in your life.
I mean, they're just people who exist that you know.
I see them almost every day.
I would say outside of close family and friends.
The hurricanes and the Reds are more close to me than the vast majority of people.
I watch more hurricanes.
I mean, the two things I watch the most on television are Reds and Hurricanes.
because they're on all the time.
Yeah.
And like the two announcers for the hurricanes, they're my friends.
They're getting Christmas cars.
Trip Tracy is, I mean, no one here knows who Tripp Tracy is, but I know his strengths, his weaknesses.
He's overcome alcoholism.
He has frosty tips in his hair that he debates back and forth whether or not to continue
frosty in them.
All right.
I take that back.
Maybe these guys are your friends.
They just don't know it.
Some people feel that way about us.
Yeah.
Because they listen every day.
day, I kind of have that with this random two guys in Raleigh.
I think I would geek out if I saw the Hurricanes
Adouncers. Starstruck.
When they were played in Columbus, I tried to find a way to sneak into the booth.
Just to get a picture. I want to get a picture of the two guys.
And then they were breaking.
That's how I would have thought about Skip Carrie and Don Sutton and Pete Van Waring.
Exactly. We were kids. Pete Van Weren.
Yeah. Well, okay, but this, I'm shut up.
I don't have to say when you're 12.
Like last night, I missed, we were driving during the hurricane.
Canes Bruins, we got back, I watched it on replay.
Some of it. Fast forward to the goals, but I wanted to see it.
A hard fan. That's right. You know, growing up, I used to watch this guy right here to my left.
Yeah, now you get to work with it. And we'd come to Madisonville. We have to cut him off on certain
topics. There are a lot of people writing on the text machine, though, that still have readish.
I'm telling you, it's more than it should be. It's more than you would think. I really am
surprised that it's so many. Let's go to, uh, who we got here. Let's go to, Dan, Dan, Dan, go ahead.
Hey, hey, Matt.
This is Dan for Rocky Mountain.
I'm calling you from Queensland, New Zealand.
Oh, wow.
Hello, Queensland.
Good day.
Yeah, hey, I've been to Australia, going to in Queensland now.
But I've got to tell you, I wear a U.K. hat over here.
And I've had numerous people, well, I won't say numerous, three people.
That's all of the United Kingdom with the U.K. hat on.
met a Tennessee fan over here.
Didn't like him too much.
Isn't it like one-thirty?
He didn't even know anything about.
Isn't it like 1.30 in the morning there?
It's 5.30.
Yeah, I'm getting ready to go eat breakfast.
We're going out early this morning.
We've got a whole lot of touring around to do.
Yeah, it's, it's, it's, you're all too.
It's Wednesday here.
Yeah.
Well, good.
Well, I hope you're having fun.
I guess will you get to watch the game?
Who wins if it's Wednesday?
I won't get to watch it.
I'll listen to it though.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I've been listening to you like, of course, it's like going from night shift to day shift here.
So, you know, I'm like I went to bed at 8 o'clock last night.
Yeah.
And so.
Well, I hope you enjoy the trip.
I'm glad you're getting to do it.
I know, you know, you've had some health issues.
and you're traveling. That's awesome. And Dan, it's good to hear from you.
Yeah, great listen to you guys. I love your show, brothers.
Thank you very much. Appreciate to call. Enjoy New Zealand, Dan. That's great. I'm glad he's there.
Freebird. Go ahead, Freebird.
Guys, greetings from Tompkinsville. Two things, guys. I'm glad you're back safe.
Hope you had a good time. I love the interviews with the UK guys. And, man, some of these UK fans, first of all, get off Reed.
he did what he did he's playing well and let's have a little faith in this team we got our point guard hurt we don't know if he's coming back let him do what he did last year let him make ship the lineup and do his adjustments it's november for crying out loud ran over y'all have a great day i agree with that i totally agree with that and if we end up without low i do think pope will be able to like he did last year craft the best possible team he can from what's left
but I want Lowe to play because I think that's where we hit our peak.
Yeah, we hit this last year and you had to turn.
You lose Cresso, then you're down to Travis Perry.
I still like Aberdeen and Jasper's got a long way to go.
What do you have, eight assists Friday night?
So they still have the bodies.
And really tonight, Aberdeen, their Michigan State's point guard leads the nation and assists.
He's really good.
He averages almost 10 assists a game.
It'd be one where I think Aberdeen would be playing a lot anyway for defense with this matchup.
Yeah, I mean, this might be a game where Jalen Lowe would have been the
least helpful because I think he would get exposed a little on defense and the physical and the
physicality. So this is actually, I think you'll see the need for low more when we play St. John's or
when we play maybe even North Carolina. This is a game where this probably would have been an
Aberdeen game anyway. He's definitely more valuable as a defender and I can lock down guy on the
perimeter, but he's a better off guard off the ball guard. You know, he's got to be. You think so?
It just seems like what I've seen. He's a good point guard, but he's better off the ball.
The problem with him playing off the guard is you can't play him, O.Way, and Chandler, all at the same time.
Correct.
At least this way, I mean, if I'm trying to get bright spots, you can play all three of those guys together.
Right now, he's the team's leading score.
I know he's been moving around a lot and still we're patching the roster together with all these injuries,
but he's been even better than I expected, really.
Do we expect to see a better game from Oway?
We'll probably talk about this a lot on the pregame show, but.
I think so.
But if he doesn't play well, we really, we're really.
really starting to wonder what's going on between the years.
Yeah.
I'm concerned about it.
It's not the same guy so far this year.
Hey, big news for our listeners in North Carolina.
Cornbread hemp is now available at all locations across the state, including Lowe's
foods.
You got the seltzers, relaxation without the hangover, the gummies to help you sleep.
No waiting for shipping.
Just walk in and grab your cornbread.
No artificials, no synthetics, no shortcuts.
Go to Lowe's Foods in North Carolina or close to you.
Look for cornbread hemp or cornbread.
breadhemp.com and find a location. Cornbread hemp. This is the good life.
Pre-game show, by the way, is at 4 o'clock today. A rare 4 o'clock start.
Yeah. We're going to win tonight, right? Yeah. Darren Peterson's out for Kansas just came out in
the second game. It's a big deal. Yeah. He's going to be out. Duke's an 11.5 point favorite
against Kansas, which is nuts. We'll take a break. We're right back. KS.R.
T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney. Call T. T.J. He'll make them pay.
Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.
It really is amazing.
I mean, the most text on the text machine.
Hunt, like, probably 200 are about Reed Shepard.
Anti-Reed?
I'm telling me.
No, they're not all in.
I mean, there are positive ones, too.
One person writes, I love Reed Shepard.
He's an incredible player, and he loves UK and Kentucky.
Did he mess up wearing a shirt?
Sure, but that shouldn't make up for it or shouldn't take away from what he has done.
Another one writes,
born and Brad Kentucky.
He's supposed to be ours.
His shirt was infidelity.
In Kentucky, you don't forgive infidelity.
A lot of people do.
If they didn't, there would be a lot fewer marriages, I think, around the state.
So what could Reed do to give everybody back on board?
Burn in Arkansas jersey.
That would be good.
One person goes, I'm done with Reed and Rex Chapman.
Reed's shirt and Rex's politics make me not care about two of the best players we ever had here.
I don't know if they're the best players we ever had here, but I will say, like, neither of those are good reasons.
The politics reasons is ridiculous.
Like, come on.
I mean, really, you're not going to like a player because they disagree with you about to stop it.
Do you know all most politics?
I mean, you don't know, like, first of all, here's a little secret.
the vast majority of the players
are more on Rex's side than they are,
especially the closer you get to recently.
Go back in time, they're probably more on the other side.
But none of that should matter about basketball.
I mean, I understand if you want to mute Rex's Twitter account
will cause of it.
But as far as like a player, what does that have to do with anything?
One of the most popular players to ever play here for your team,
your beloved Kentucky Wildcats,
and you want to turn him off because he thinks something differently
you politically.
First of all, it's crazy you would think that.
listen to me.
Good point.
Although Rex does go in a little bit farther than I do.
All right.
I want to play a game with you.
All right.
Drew doesn't get to play because he'll know all these answers.
This is for Shannon and Ryan.
All right.
We're ready.
We're playing the where does this former UK player play this year?
Oh, God.
Oh, wow.
Basketball or football.
Where does this former UK player basketball play this year?
All right.
I'll start with the easy ones.
Both of you get a guess.
Where does Kirk Creeza play? Shannon.
Cincinnati.
Yes, Ryan. Cincinnati.
Correct.
Where does Bryce Hopkins play?
Georgetown.
Shannon?
It was Providence, but he moved on.
St. John's.
St. John.
Shannon gets it right.
Ryan gets an X.
All right.
Where does U.G.
Gianna Oienso play.
Went to Kansas State.
I don't know if he's still there.
I'll be like, I'm just say Kansas State then.
Shannon.
I think it is Kansas State.
Virginia.
Virginia.
Didn't have a clue.
No idea.
You did not know that.
No idea.
Where does Aaron Bradshaw play?
I know this one, I think.
Shannon?
It was Ohio State.
Then he moved on to Arkansas.
No, he's not at Arkansas.
I don't know.
I don't know this one.
Memphis.
Memphis.
Ryan gets one right.
All right.
So it's Todd.
The winner can get, and I don't think either one of you are getting this one.
Where does Damien Collins play?
Because he left LSU.
Arizona State.
I'll say Texas San Antonio.
Texas San Antonio.
It's somewhere very specific.
It's somewhere in Texas.
Don't answer, but do you know?
I'm pretty sure I was certain on all those.
I think I know this one.
Is it in the Sunshine State?
I want you to take a guess.
Is he a bull, a South Florida Bull?
South Florida.
He plays at South Florida.
There you go.
I knew all of them except I did not know he played at South Florida.
We got Devin Askew at Villanova.
Yeah, I think people would have gotten that one.
We've talked about that one.
South Florida, would you have known Damien Collins was at South Florida?
Because he played a lot of minutes at LSU.
I don't know why he left LSU for South Florida.
I can't believe Hugo is at Virginia.
I didn't either.
Ugo is actually playing really well.
Aaron Bradshaw is absolutely not.
Well, he's, who goes at four and a half points a game?
Can you name the women's team?
I thought Hugo's had some big games this year.
Maybe not.
But Aaron Bradshaw has not improved from this.
Mark's story did a story on this today.
Hugo is, no, nine and a half.
You're right.
So he's played well.
Bradshaw has not improved in three years.
Can you name the women's team that is ranked in the top 25,
whose two best players are both former Kentucky women's players?
Ohio State.
I don't know that one.
Tennessee, I don't know.
You buddy?
No, I don't have it.
TCU.
TCU.
Maddie Scher and Clara Silva.
I completely forgot Maddie Scher is still playing basketball.
Clara Silva, who is the girl from Portugal,
she's averaging a double-double,
and Maddie Scher is averaging 10 points a game.
Former Ryle High School star.
Yeah.
And they're in the top 25.
There's a big women's game at Memorial Cossam tonight.
night. They play Purdue.
Yeah.
Pack the house.
We're blue.
Yep.
They have, they're doing some kind of ticket giveaway.
I can't remember what was it.
They're giving away like clear bags.
I think students have huge giveaways like AirPods and men's basketball tickets.
And there's a lot going on.
Teacher game.
Teacher appreciation night maybe.
Yeah.
If you're a teacher, you come in, they appreciate you.
It'll be, it's all kinds of fun.
But it's tonight and they'll have it on the big screen.
Yeah, the guys game, they're going to show on the big screen.
I just have to say, though,
to the schedule makers.
You got to stop.
I feel like they do this to the women every year.
I feel like we play.
Didn't the women have a big home game last year during the Duke game?
I do believe you're exactly right.
Why do they do this to them?
Were they thinking that Kentucky would play the late game again so people could maybe see both?
But even then, like, you know, it's a Tuesday.
Still, though, I hope people go because like I said, they got a big recruit there.
But I don't know why they do that to them.
This is their last home game until December 7th.
I mean, that's a long drop.
It's odd that we play all these games.
They're playing in like...
Go to Puerto Rico, go to Louisville, another road game.
Okay.
Shannon, did you see the story about the billionaire and the pickup line?
Yes, yes, I did.
I have seen this.
Okay, so there's a guy named Bill Ackman.
He's like a rich billionaire.
I don't know what he did to get rich.
I don't know what it is about these billionaires that like...
Again, we talk about this all the time.
If you're a billionaire, why don't you just go be a billionaire?
why do they all want to all of a sudden
you'll never hear from me again
if I'm a billionaire. Yeah, I mean, why is everybody like
wanting to be a prognostic? You're a billionaire.
I mean like
$2 million and
this show's over.
You won't find me. All right, like, I'm off the grid.
Just give me a couple more, give me a couple more
and we're out.
A couple more.
That implies you that. Well, then this.
Okay.
So Bill Ackman,
he like,
pontificates on things.
Okay.
And for a while it was politics, but now he's just on life.
He's decided he can give everybody
advice on how to live their best life.
On social media or something?
Because he's so relatable.
Yeah, so he's so, Mr. billionaire is relatable.
And so his latest one was
somebody asked him, Bill.
I don't know who's asking these questions.
Dear Bill, what do you recommend we do for young men
so they can meet women?
you know, who knows?
Here was Bill's answer.
He said, in my day, I have found that women really like it if you approach them on the street or in public and say, may I meet you?
That you walk up to them and you say, may I meet you?
Sounds like the worst idea ever.
That is not going to work in today's world.
Do we think that that is a good introductory line to meet a woman, Shannon?
It's a little weird, but it's straightforward.
It's to the point.
No.
You get a clear yes or no.
May I meet you?
It means will you talk to me?
They're going to say no and keep on walking.
But may I meet you is such a weird way to say it, isn't it?
But that's why it works, though.
I think that's intriguing.
You think it does work.
It ain't, hey, girl, let me talk to you.
Come over here.
I want to go, hey girl.
What's you doing?
Can you imagine, though, if someone came up to you and said, may I meet you?
You would be intrigued.
I'd be scared and run away.
I don't know.
I would feel like they were socially awkward to say something.
Yeah.
Just introduce yourself.
Just go up and be like, hey, let's meet.
My name's Drew.
How you doing?
But you're assuming that she cares.
She's asking you.
I don't want to talk.
I guess what I'm saying is if she doesn't want to talk to you is may I meet you going
to help or hurt?
I say hurt.
I think most women know if they have any potential interest in you within two to three seconds.
Seconds.
Right.
And I think may I meet you?
So then today's-
We only make it work.
Yes.
In today's world,
you're like,
that's a little creepy goodbye.
But,
you think it's good.
I think it can work.
I mean,
it's different.
I've never had anybody come up to me and say that to me.
Who is somebody that we could test this with?
Like,
I don't think it works.
I think you have to go into the wild and do it for us.
I can't do it.
I can't. I can't. I can't. I don't have the, I would be so embarrassed at myself.
May I mean you? Yeah, until you meet your future wife.
Then you wouldn't be someone else. How did you all meet? I walked up there and said, hey, can I meet you? That's weird. May. May. May I meet you.
Can I? Yeah. If she's going to say, I don't know. The person to do this with would be if he was not engaged Billy.
Billy as a may I meet you would be a good test
because he talks to people at the gym
which is he does talk to people in the elevator
and he would do it I could see him doing it
I personally think it's not a good way
to start a conversation now he's getting roasted
like everyone is and there are videos online
on TikTok of just people going up to strangers
and saying may I meet you and the look of horror
that is on people's face
I understand no people are testing
it and like they're just they'll just walk up to somebody on the street and go may I meet you and they look at
him like ugh it's not a natural thing to do it's not a natural thing to say back in his day which
how old is this guy so he was suggesting to do it now he's probably in his 50s yeah so 30 years ago
suggesting to do it now so I don't know we got to try it out yeah you can try Shannon's the one
sounds like pro he he's true you like to try it out Shannon no no I wouldn't see
Cut him with you're all big talk.
All right, let's do our Draft Kings pick for the,
let's not do Kentucky,
Michigan State.
We'll do that later.
Let's do Duke, Kansas.
Duke's an 11.5 point favorite.
Go to Draft Kings,
using my promo code, KSR,
bet five, get $200 at Draft Kings.
Who you like, Duke's an 11.5 point favorite at Kansas,
pick it against the spread.
And Peterson is not playing?
Peterson is not playing.
I'm taking Duke then to cover.
See, I'm taking Kansas.
I cannot see Kansas losing by
12 in the Champions Classic.
I mean, remember, we felt like we got run off the court by Louisville.
We lost by eight.
I mean, like, that's hard for me to see.
It's way too many points for a matchup like this.
Peterson's awesome.
I mean, he might be my favorite of all those freshmen.
I think he could be the best.
So it's definitely going to hurt him.
But 11.5 is too many points for me and a game like this.
It's a lot of points, 11 and a half.
I can't believe it would be that many.
So I'm with you.
I'm taking Kansas and the points.
So I'm the only one taking dues.
So three Kansas and one dude.
Yeah.
my track record is awful on draft king so you know where to go.
Ryan's going to see Duke Kansas and bet punt.
I was betting punt last night on the Steelers game.
They didn't play like that.
Steelers didn't win.
Raiders and the Cowboys.
Raiders and the Cowboys, yeah.
Steelers were Sunday.
I was betting punt.
I turned the Cowboys game on.
I was like, let's see what the score is.
And it was 31-6 and Guy Fierry was on the screen with Peyton Manning.
I was like, I think I'm going to turn this all.
I think I'm done.
859-280-807.
Take your call.
Be right back.

The question is, how do you conquer them?
On hurdle with Emily Abadi, we sit down with the most inspiring women in sports and wellness,

Like, I've never understood that.
Like, it didn't make sense in my brain.
It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you, but don't ever feel like you don't
feel on.
Don't let that be the reason you don't do it.

You know, may I meet you might work better if you're a billionaire.
Like if you work up there, I'm a billionaire.
As you're showing your phone with your bank account numbers.
May I meet you at that point?
Maybe more of a successful, successful lie.
I think you could say anything at that point, though.
You think so?
Yeah.
Like, I'm a billionaire.
I'd lead with that.
Okay.
There you go.
859, 2807, one woman writes,
I had a guy come up to me once on the street
and say he would like to brush my hair.
I would have preferred, may I meet you?
Yeah, for sure.
That would be really weird.
There's one more player that went to another school,
and I guarantee you none of you know.
Where's Cameron Fletcher?
Oh, my.
He's from St. Louis.
I'll say St. Louis.
All right.
You may want to make a guess?
man, I have it.
Is it? He wasn't
Xavier. Is it Xavier?
No, Shannon. It wasn't Xavier.
High Point.
You looked it up.
He looked it up. He looked it up. What a jerk.
You looked it up. There's no way you knew he was at High Point.
You're looking at me right now. How did I look that up?
Shannon, that is the cheatingest cheating thing.
How did I look it up? You're looking at me on the screen right now.
How would you have known he's at High Point?
I know he's at High Point.
How do you know? How do I?
How do you know anything?
I just know it.
Where did you hear he was at high point?
I don't know, but I know it.
Cheez.
Does anyone believe Shannon knew that?
Shannon's not beating the Google Act.
Shannon, you're saying.
How about looking it up?
That was maybe your most blatant cheat.
No, no, the Alabama House of Representatives person.
I have taken up for you on your accusations of cheating.
Nobody would get it right.
But now I'm in with the group that Shannon cheats because there's no way you could have known that.
No way.
By going with my toes?
No way.
You couldn't have known that.
Miles, go ahead, Miles.
No way you could have known it.
You Googled five minutes ago and Matt said we forgot one.
I'm just going to say that I absolutely love our basketball team this year.
And my favorite play is O'Reilly.
And this is Miles from Danville.
and this is Miles from Danville
and I
my favorite
is always
well thank you Miles
it's good to hear from you
hope to see you at the bar again soon
I appreciate the call and you
and always going to have a big night for you
Miles I have a feeling let's go to Ford
go ahead Ford
Hey I was
your comments about not knowing people's faces
on the street the difference between
like basketball and football
and like hockey or football and hockey or helmet sports.
The reason I know when I walk around campus,
I see like the basketball players,
because I'm seeing, you know, practice clips,
especially preseason I'm seeing practice clips and stuff.
When I'm seeing practice clips of like the football team,
they're in helmets.
I'm not going to know their face.
I mean, of course, that's definitely the reason,
but still that's all the more reason
schools need to get people to learn their players.
Like they need to do, in football,
they need to do more.
in football they need to do more of that for the exact reason you're talking about.
Is that a UK thing or is that a JMI thing?
It's a UK thing.
UK, and I appreciate the call.
It's UK.
I mean, JMI deserves the responsibility too.
You know, somebody made a point to me last night that was fascinating but true.
We were able, me and Drew and Billy and Mario, to do multiple clips and show from the Buffalo
Bill's field.
We can't do that at UK, right?
We were able to one-on-one talk in a way without anyone overseeing us with the Buffalo
Bill's players and you can at UK.
That's a failure in building relationships with the players.
It just is.
And they can have any excuse they want for it, but it's a failure.
So then when people don't know them as well, that's on you.
You did that, not like that's just how it is.
to Po. Go ahead, Po. God bless. And I just want y'all, I know y'all aren't doing it, but
whoever's on it, lay off a read. He's true to the Bone, Kentucky. And I'm sitting in
London right now, and I know that's true. Well, I appreciate it. Go ahead, Po. My mom and
my dad lived in Virginia, and my mom lived in London when I was little, and I went back and forth
back and forth.
Then I go through Middlesborough, and there was a store bat that had a Kentucky helmet and a
Tennessee helmet in.
What was the name of that store?
I'm not sure what the store was.
Arnold's Athletic was an athletic store that's on that highway.
Could that have been it?
I don't know.
It was on the left going towards Virginia.
I think it's Arnold's Athletic.
I appreciate the call.
I think that was our – they used to make all the jerseys.
I'm sorry, Poe.
But yes, I think it was Arnold.
Athletic.
Look at that.
I didn't think you'd have that answer.
Yeah, so we were right there on the border, so it's closed now.
There was one story you said you'd have to go get your shoes.
Like they had the shoes before everybody else.
Is that the same store?
Arnold's Athletic made the uniforms.
No, there wasn't, there was a foot locker.
Whoa.
Big city.
I thought it was like on the road between.
Wow, we had a hoodlock.
Wow, we had a hip-foot locker.
We had like, you know.
Teamoo Footlocker.
Oh, we were big time in Middlesbrough.
By the way, we're Pikeville needs to be ready.
Big game this weekend.
We're coming.
On the road.
Jackets, Jackets, Jackets.
Ain't no easy way to get from Pikeville from Millsville.
It's like Buffalo to New York City.
Same state, not close.
All right, four o'clock.
We'll be back for the pregame show for Kentucky and Michigan State.
Until then, get yourself ready.
It's Champions Classic Day.

Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind,
and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.

I'm Timbo, in every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments in sports and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment, and the stuff nobody gets to hear.
