Starting point is 00:02:58 Hopefully we'll have Ryan and Drew, if Drew, if Drew can move. tomorrow. We'll see. The watch party is at 9 o'clock tomorrow. And then for volleyball. And then my trivia is tonight at 7 o'clock. People are giving other big time covers. With a little help for my friends, Joe Cocker. That's a good one. Yep. It's a good one. Johnny Cash hurt. I mean, that's a good one, but it's not one the biggest of all the time. No, no. Gin and Juice by the Gords is maybe my favorite. That's your favorite one? The Bluegrass version.
Starting point is 00:03:33 Yeah. I'll have to play that one. There's so much drumming LBC. It's kind of hard being snoop. You got to play that when we come back. Wagon wheel. Oh, that's a big, you know what? That's a big one, even though I hate it.
Starting point is 00:03:50 You're talking about the Darius Rucker one? Because the other one's so much better. But you're right, that's a big one. All right, I wanted to do something before we go back to phones, a little non-sports, if you don't mind. Yep. Shannon 30 what year did you graduate high school 2001 right I graduated high school in 1996 the 30 year anniversary of me graduating high school is this year oh my god coming up how old
Starting point is 00:04:14 you feel I mean think about that 30 years ago that's crazy to me to think it's been that long yeah I remember like you know parents having 30 years I'm going man you're so old 30 years? I remember the moment my mom turned 40 and I was like, you're going to drop dead any minute. She's not going to be with this any much long. Here we are. Life comes at you fast. Life does come at you fast. So I went and pulled up the top 30 box office movies the year I graduated from high school. Okay. Let's go through these and see what have you seen these or not. Are you ready? Let's go. Bivison and Butthead do America is number 30.
Starting point is 00:05:01 Classic. I can't believe that's been 30 years ago. 30 years ago for Beavis and Butthead to America. That was number 30. Number 29. Toy Story. Toy story is huge, but when it came out, Shannon, only 29th at the box office. I would have thought that would have been top five.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Yeah. Yeah, it's huge. Huge now. 28th. Grumpier old men. I don't think I saw the part two. I didn't see the sequel. No, I saw Grumpy, but not grumpier.
Starting point is 00:05:28 How about grumpier old men making more money than Toy Story? That's kind of cool. 27th, Jumanji. Yeah, of course, I saw that one. Yes, that was the first one had Robin Williams, I think. Is that right? The second one had the Rock. 26, 10 Cup.
Starting point is 00:05:44 Didn't see that one. The Kevin Costner golf movie? Uh-uh, didn't see it. When you hit a bunch of balls in the water in a row, they say it's like 10 cup. Ryan Limit does that a lot. 25th, jingle all the way. I think I saw that on like AMC. a couple of days ago. It's Tim Allen, right?
Starting point is 00:06:01 Yeah. Yeah. Am I correct about that? I think it is. 24th primal fear. Hold on. Jingle all the way is Arnold Schwarzenegger. Oh, it's Arnold Schwarzenegger. Oh, it's Arnold Schwarzenegger. Yeah. Okay. What was the next one? Primal Fear. Didn't see that one. I believe, is that, like Warren Gear? See, if that's, is that Richard Gear? Gear. Not, I'm thinking Warren Beatty. Is that Richard Gear is Primal Fear? I was working at the movie warehouse during this time, so I feel like I have... If it is, he's not in like the top.
Starting point is 00:06:33 Who's in the top? Who are the stars of Primal Fear? Yeah, you're right. Never mind. There's another one called Primal Fear. There was a TV movie. That's the one I was on. So you're right.
Starting point is 00:06:41 It is Richard Gear. Richard Gear. Right. 23rd, executive decision. I have no idea what that is. Never even heard of that. Never heard of it. And how does that higher than Toy Story and all these other ones?
Starting point is 00:06:49 I don't know. 22nd, 12 monkeys. I loved 12 monkeys when I worked at movie warehouse. That was like Brad Pitt's follow up to seven. I think. Yep. 21st Jack. Jack. That's Robin Williams. I don't think you could make that movie now.
Starting point is 00:07:07 I don't know if I saw that one. Isn't it like, isn't Robin Williams playing like a mentally handicapped person? Maybe. Look up Jack. Movie Jack. I think I'm right about that. 20th is courage under fire. Meg Ryan, I believe that has a, a young Matt Damon.
Starting point is 00:07:29 I think so. Was I right about Jack? Yeah, I'm looking at that right now. Yeah, you couldn't make that movie. No. 19th cable guy, Jim Carrey. Classic. Classic.
Starting point is 00:07:39 Great one. 18th Jerry McGuire. Another classic. Show me the money. That's right. 17th Broken Arrow. I believe that's got John Travolta. And it's about like a rogue
Starting point is 00:07:53 nuclear warhead. Am I right about that? Word for word. Terrorist steal nuclear warheads from the U.S. military. See, look at that. But don't count on the pilot and park rangers. See, this is when I worked at movie warehouse. I remember these.
Starting point is 00:08:09 16th, Mr. Holland's opus. That was Richard Dreyfus and he like taught at a high school music, I think. Yep. 15th, space jam. That's, yep. Yeah, the Monstars. Classics. 14th Star Trek
Starting point is 00:08:26 First Contact Did not see that one I never watched those Geeks 13th the hunchback of Notre Dame I don't remember this Is that That Jim Carrey
Starting point is 00:08:37 Demi Moore Demi Moore was the hunchback of Notre Dame She's the top Like No She's not the hunchback of Notre Dame No she's
Starting point is 00:08:46 I have no memory of that movie Esmerado She's not the hunchback there 12 phenomenon Never seen it. Don't remember that. 11th Eraser. Haven't seen that one.
Starting point is 00:09:00 Phenomenon is another John Travolta movie. You know what? Travolta was hot during this period. Eracers Arnold Schwarzenegger again. Okay. 10th First Wives Club. I remember that. That was all the women like, here we go.
Starting point is 00:09:15 Is that Diane Keaton in First Wives Club? Yep. Goldie Hahn. Gosh, I love this time. Ninth, 101 Dalmatians. Yeah, of course. Think Glenn Close was in that. You know all the actors and actresses.
Starting point is 00:09:31 You know all the top billed cast. Okay. Eighth, a time to kill. Matthew McConaug, Ashley Judd. Sandra Bullock. Sandra Bullock. Maybe Samuel L. Jackson. Yep, I think so.
Starting point is 00:09:45 Okay. Yep, yep. You're right. Seventh the bird cage. That was that Robin Williams and Names. Nathan Lane. I don't remember what it was about. But they were like on Broadway or something.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Is that right? Sixth, ransom. Ransom. I don't remember that one. Mel Gibson. Mel Gibson. And Lieutenant Dan. Gary Seneas is in that.
Starting point is 00:10:14 Okay. Number five. So these are top five movies in 96. All right. The Nutty Professor. Eddie Murphy. He played all the parts, right? That movie was huge.
Starting point is 00:10:25 That movie was huge. What was it? Hercules, Hercules, Hercules. I love how happy this makes you movies 30 years ago. Well, I don't know if anybody else is enjoying it, Shannon, but you and I are and I don't care. Yeah, this is for us. Fourth, The Rock. Nicholas Cage and Sean Connery and like they're escaping from Alcatraz.
Starting point is 00:10:48 Is that right? That's right. Yep. Okay. Number three was the first mission impossible. That was the first one? That was the first one with Tom Cruise. Number two.
Starting point is 00:11:01 Number two. Twister. Yeah. I remember since Drew is out with a locked up back, the first time in my life, my back ever locked up was watching Twister at the London, Kentucky cinema. True story. We're playing in a tennis tournament. I won. I played later in the day.
Starting point is 00:11:22 I went to watch Twister, the change in temperature from the heat outside to the cold in there. I locked my back up and I had to lay on the floor of the movie theater. I was in so much pain. It was a big hit to the tennis team. Yes. And then finally, number one movie, which made $100 million, Shannon, more than Twister at number two. Independence Day. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:45 Yep. Will Smith. So there's your little walk down memory lane. I'm just impressed that you know, like all. the top billed actors and actresses for like every movie in the top 30 from 30 years ago. But I worked at movie warehouse. And when they would come in, you had to like tell them where to go. I had to like put them on the shelf.
Starting point is 00:12:04 And so that's the only reason I know them. There's some duds in there, by the way. Yeah. Like there's some really bad movies in there. Yeah. Some of them I've never heard of, never seen and probably never will see. My prime year would be 95 because those movies would have come out on video in 96. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:21 So that would be my prime year. All right. It was your little detour. Your 1996 movies detour. I know some of y'all liked it. Don't act like you didn't. Blake, go ahead, Blake. My question was, so I think we've seen JMI as affecting the high school recruiting, which is bad. But for Pope, I don't think it's like worst case scenario because he's shown he likes to use the transfer portal more. So my question was, do you see the JMI deal affecting the portal gets? Because then I think that's where you have to start to really You know, I don't know. I think it might affect a couple of them, but I don't know about the rank and file.
Starting point is 00:12:59 I appreciate the call. I could see it having an effect on a couple of the guys, but I think what I've been told about the portal is that some of the issue there is not understanding the market and overpaying and underpaying for guys. But we'll see. I mean, we'll see. I think it's probably more of an issue for the high school guys, though. I mean, the Christian Collin kids, Shannon, he signed an NIL deal with Crocs. Well, that's not a JMI deal, right? That's his own deal.
Starting point is 00:13:32 And the amount of kids that can do that on their own are not many. Right. Right? I mean, I'm not sure that, you know, Denzel Aberdeen has a connection at Crocs. But the top high school players in America can, and that's where your problem is. That's the thing. I mean, these guys that are the top elite athletes are going to have so many opportunities out there. and if there's Kentucky and JMI that says, well, we're restricting you to only this.
Starting point is 00:13:56 Why would you go there? And as the caller, Tom said, how much money does central bank have? Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, there's only so much. You know, there's only so much. Like, I don't know how many times you can go to that well. I mean, maybe you can.
Starting point is 00:14:09 I don't know. But Cole, go ahead, Cole. Hey, Matt, this Shannon. Just a quick question. I drove to Baltimore this past weekend for my first ever Army Navy game. My son is at the Naval Academy. experiencing experience. And I really think that no matter your politics, it's one of those things you have to check out. But my question is, with the Army Navy game is historically, yeah, it was.
Starting point is 00:14:31 The Army Navy game is historically the only game on on a certain weekend in December. And there's a push to sort of add some of the playoff games to that day as well. I want to know your thoughts and if it should be one of those things that should remain separate from the rest of the football world. If you expand the playoffs, it's going to have to be that weekend. So if I'm going to Army Navy, I probably try to say, hey, college football, can we have our own night or our own day? Because if they expand the playoffs to 24, which I don't know if they're planning on do that. But if they do, week one has to be the week of the Army Navy. So I like that Army Navy gets its own slot, Chan.
Starting point is 00:15:13 And I don't know if it needs its own day, like the whole day. But I certainly think it should have its own slot. Yeah, yeah. And so as long as they keep that, I'd be okay with. I like that. Yeah, you block off even if it's a noon game. You know, noon to two, you block that off, and that is the national game that everybody gets to see. And it gets great ratings.
Starting point is 00:15:33 I mean, they got like 9 million people that watched it. No, I think it deserves its own slot. I don't know if it deserves its own day. But its own slot, I'm good with. Justin, go ahead, Justin. Good morning, guys. Hey, I got a couple of questions about the JMI stuff, and I want to make it quick and hopefully I'm not going too fast.
Starting point is 00:15:54 You can't answer them all. My first question is, and please don't cut me off because I'm going to mention it. You got to go quick because I might to go to break. I need you just go. Go for it. Are you there? Justin. Justin?
Starting point is 00:16:22 You just hung up. What happened? You told him to go. But did he drop his phone? I think he got nervous and hung up. But I wanted it. I wanted to. I wanted. but he only had...
Starting point is 00:16:37 You scolded him before the call. I didn't scold him. I just wanted him to go quick. You said don't cut him. Well, you know, like when you tell people to go quick, they only go slower. Why is that? Because they weren't thinking about it, and now they are, so now they're trying to go fast, but they're actually going slower. That makes me sad.
Starting point is 00:16:54 Justin, call back. I'll put you directly on. Clayton and Kroom was founded on a simple idea. All leather goods should last a lifetime. They make everything from bags, belts, wallets, and much more. And the best part, they're doing it right here in Kentucky. You can check them out at Clayton & Kroom.com, that's C-R-U-M-E-E-D-C-R-U-M-E-D-C-R-U-M-E-R-U-M-E-R-U-M-C-R-U-M-C-R-U-M-C-R-E-R-E-R-M-E-R-E-R-E-R-E-R-E-R-E-L-E-LAT,
Starting point is 00:17:22 called, Justin. It sounded like, though, he dropped his phone. It's like, fumbling with his phone. I hope he's all right. Yeah. All right. All right. We'll be right back. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet.
Starting point is 00:17:35 internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in. I'm Timbo. Every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines. And in recognition of mental health awareness month, I'm bringing over a decade of my own experience in the mental health field and conversations with so many incredible guests. I'm talking. Tripp Fontaine, Ryan Clark.
Starting point is 00:18:39 Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing and we're still chasing it and we don't know when we've done enough. Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses. Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,
Starting point is 00:18:58 because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth, or are you a good person because you're afraid? Because that's two different intentions, bro. Absolutely. And that's two different levels of trust. I want you to just really be a good person. Join me, Kear Gaines, is we have real conversations about healing, growth, fatherhood, pressure, and purpose on my new podcast, Learn the Hardway.
Starting point is 00:19:19 Open your free iHeartRadio app. Search Learn the Hardway and listen now. What's up, guys? This is Cliver Taylor the Fourth. And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff. Like being an internet famous referee. We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker walks up to me, he goes,
Starting point is 00:19:39 hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What? Time out. Quarterback on office blue of 42. Hey, rep, my mama want you to wave at her. What? Hey, Miss Parker. Listen to the Clifford show on the Iheart radio app,
Starting point is 00:20:00 Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. What's up, fam? This Isaiah Thomas. And I'm C.J. Toledano. cast point game is about defining the odds. Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed. And finding ways to win no matter what. He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
Starting point is 00:20:17 His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before. And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game. We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs. I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reed. He has to guard you.
Starting point is 00:20:37 Julius Randall. And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense. And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too. Steve Nash would get that thing. That man, hell get the flying. He run up the court, licking his fingers, why he got the ball. Like, you go through a training camp with that Isaiah, you figure it out real quick. Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
Starting point is 00:21:02 So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. That's right. This is me now. Yeah. It's good. All the whole of things. Don't let me think about that. Although I think he sings this at age 30. Right.
Starting point is 00:21:17 Yeah. We need one for your next 50. My next 50 years. 859-2802287. One person writes, Matt, didn't you do a TV show on a random Louisville cable TV station late at night? Yes. Did you know this, Shannon? No.
Starting point is 00:21:36 Like every week? every night. Every night. Monday through Friday, the freak show with Johnny the freak. Now, the amount of people that have seen this is a small amount. It was on, no, it was on the station that OVW is on.
Starting point is 00:21:53 WBNA. WBNA. So this was like 17 years ago. Johnny the Freak Renshaw was a radio host in Louisville. He was like, I'm Johnny the Freak. And he did like, I can't even do it. to his voice. But you know, he'd always sound like,
Starting point is 00:22:08 and he was wild. And something happened where he got in trouble and he got let go. But there were still two months left on the contract. And I was desperate to be on TV or on the radio. So I agreed to do it. And it was 11 o'clock every night.
Starting point is 00:22:25 And I would drive to this station and the show was still called The Freak Show. But I had to host the Freak Show. You were the freak. Somewhere on the internet, there's a picture of me hosting the freak show. If you ever see a picture with like a phone number at the bottom of it, and I got a bowl cut haircut, and I'd look like I don't fit in with the set.
Starting point is 00:22:47 That's me hosting the freak show. And the freak show, Shannon, took live calls on the air. Oh, that's dangerous. Oh, yeah. At 11 o'clock at night with everyone drunk. Right. And they didn't know who I was. Like, his audience was wild.
Starting point is 00:23:02 And here I come in going, hello, everyone. I'm an attorney at Frost Brown Todd. And I am the host of the freak show. And they would book gas, Shannon. They would book like, The Monster Energy Girls. Oh. And these women would come in,
Starting point is 00:23:17 and I'd have to interview them. What are you going to interview them about? I'll tell you who all was on that show. One night I co-hosted with Kaj Ramsey. Oh, my God. What was Kaj on there? You know who my co-host was one night? Who?
Starting point is 00:23:30 Maria Montgomery. Oh. The Raining Miss Kentucky at the time. Yeah. Well, at least she's a fan. Yeah, she was one of the easier ones. It was awful. It's the worst show that's ever been on television.
Starting point is 00:23:43 And every night I would have to do it. And I was like, what are we going to do? It streamed live on the internet back before people did that. Yeah. Remember we used to talk about Kaj Ramsey's YouTube videos on how to kick a football? Those were so great. Do those? Some of them are online.
Starting point is 00:23:59 Some of them aren't. You can't, unless people grew up with the Kajjj, you can't understand. No. You can't understand how great it was. All right, a couple of the things on these movies real quick, before I go back the phones. Jingle all the way. You mentioned starred Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Starting point is 00:24:10 Can I tell you who else was in it? Who? Sinbad. Of course. Phil Hartman, Jim Belushi, and the big show. I mean,
Starting point is 00:24:20 I need to go back and watch it and give it a second chance. The big show was in it. The big show in 96? He was in it. He was in it. Yeah. Jack was about Robin Williams
Starting point is 00:24:33 as a kid who aged too quickly. I got it confused with Simple Jack Okay Which I don't Was that a parody movie? Maybe I don't know that one I don't remember that one Um
Starting point is 00:24:48 Toy Story being that low is weird That's kind of weird All right so you got Justin on right Yeah he got him back He's back Okay so Justin I don't know what happened But now go ahead with your question I am going to make it quick
Starting point is 00:25:01 Don't cut me off because I'm going to mention Cal But it does pertain to JMI I'm curious if part of the reason Cal left had anything to do with the JMI deal, if it had to do with maybe Barnhart being behind on the times on how we do things. Another question is, does that deal? Let's do it as you say them. Let's do it as you say them. No on the JMI part because that deal was not in place yet.
Starting point is 00:25:27 So no, that wouldn't have had anything to do with it. Do I think that Mitch and Cal didn't get along and that that was part of it? sure, but it wasn't the only part of it. I think there were a lot of reasons Cal left, but I'm sure, you know, he and Mitch's relationship was not great, but I certainly wouldn't say it was the only reason. Okay, so my next question is,
Starting point is 00:25:49 when we were searching for a head coach, did that affect? And maybe that, maybe that deal was not in place, but it's going to affect, the JMI deal would not have been in place. The JMI deal would not have been in place, so no, it wouldn't have affected the coaching search.
Starting point is 00:26:03 You know, and then they got the coach, this time they wanted. So I don't think All right, so I have two different things. There's a JMI part of it within terms of media relations and all that. And we've talked a lot about that over the years. What I'm talking about now is this little part having to do with recruiting. And like I said,
Starting point is 00:26:22 I think it really only applies to a handful of players. But the problem is it's the players that we want the most. But that's my read on it. And I haven't gotten a lot of answers. Maybe one day we'll get answers and it's not what we think. But go ahead. Okay, one more question.
Starting point is 00:26:39 I'll be done. I promise I won't drop my viral. Ted said I drive a truck, so it fell off my head. It crashed out. It was terrible. Anyway, if we get a new AD, if we hire somebody that's more with the times younger,
Starting point is 00:26:52 does it right the ship? Does it make it better? Do we get rid of this deal? Do we renegotiate this deal? Well, it depends on what they do. I mean, it depends on what they do. I appreciate the call. I've kind of said,
Starting point is 00:27:02 I think it would be nice for Mitch to make a transit. to a new person. But it also depends that the new person could be great. The new person could be worse. I mean, that's the risk you have when you change.
Starting point is 00:27:14 Might be better. Might be worse. You know, same thing with Will Stein. Might be better than Mark Stoops. Might be worse. Mark Pope. Might be better than Cal. Might be worse.
Starting point is 00:27:28 That's what happens with any change. Kind of just depends on what they do. Mary, go ahead, Mary. Is that me? It is you, Mary. Go ahead. Oh, God. I didn't know you know my name.
Starting point is 00:27:41 You said that this was... Before. Yeah. But how did you know it was Mary? Because it's on the screen here. It says Mary. Oh, okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:50 You said that this was an ask-anything day? Yes. Can that be a personal question? Depends on what it is, but sure, you can ask. Okay. Many times you have said, that you don't drink alcohol. Correct.
Starting point is 00:28:05 I'm just wondering why. I drink very rarely. I had various people. I mean, I wrote about this in my book. My biological father was an alcoholic, and I, so I know, and there are other people in my family lineage who have been, and so I know I was kind of like genetically predisposed to it.
Starting point is 00:28:26 So I just didn't want to kind of go down that path. And it's also, I don't like not being in control. And so that combination has made me, it's never really been something I was interested in. Good. I noticed that you advertise or talk about liquor some times. Well, only in very small context. I've turned a lot more of that down than done it.
Starting point is 00:28:49 Thank you, Mary. Be right back. Thank you. T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney. Call T.J. He'll make them pay. Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. The freaks did come out at night.
Starting point is 00:29:02 on the Johnny the Freaks show. A little Houdini. When I think about those days, I remember one time we had the monster energy girls on. And I had a buddy in D.C. who would watch it every night and like just send me comments. And he was like, how do the monster energy girls have no energy? Because they would just be like, yes, no.
Starting point is 00:29:24 And I'd be like, where's your energy? It's the energy, like no energy. Is there no video? Did you find that picture? of me with the thing? I'm surprised Corey Price hasn't found. I need video. There is a picture online to me. I've never seen video from it. They've had to have archived this. I've never seen video from it. There is a picture that someone, like a screenshot, and it's got like a phone number on it. And I've got, I think, a jacket and I've got a mop hair cut. I need to see this.
Starting point is 00:29:53 It was so terrible. By the way, Toy Story came out at the end of 95. So the reason it was so low is because it was carrying into 96. sense. Yeah. Yeah. That makes sense. Somebody asked, what about the year Shannon graduated? By the way, one things you'll, you'll realize is before Marvel movies, there used to be a lot of creative movies out there. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Like those, almost none of those were like super heroes or any of that. I mean, like, do you go to a lot of movies still? I know you had that one next year. I try, but I don't go as much as I used to. All right, let me read you. I'm not going to go all 30 from your graduating class, but I'll do 15. Okay. Okay. Number 15. Carcroft Tomb Raider. Angelina Jolie?
Starting point is 00:30:36 Yeah, I never saw it. 14, Fast and Furious. Yep. First one. First of 20. 13th, American Pie 2. Oh, love that one. I had that one on DVD.
Starting point is 00:30:49 I did. I had about 20 DVDs, and that was one of them. Did you have the first one or just the second one? I just like the second one. You're just like the second one. American Pie 2 is not interested in the first one. No, part two was actually better. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:31:01 Okay. Number 12. The sequel to Silence of the Lams. Yeah, that's a good one. 11, a beautiful mind. That's a great movie. Russell Crow. Yep, I think I've seen that one.
Starting point is 00:31:13 Ten, Planet of the Apes. Now, how is that one? That's the first Planet of the Apes. You know, there've been a ton. That was the first one. Number nine, Jurassic Park 3. I don't remember the third one. Do you remember the third one?
Starting point is 00:31:26 No, again, that's another one that they've got like 10 sequels to. Eight. Oceans 11. I remember when Oceans 11. came out, I thought those are the coolest dudes. What was it? Like George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Don Cheatle. Was Bernie Mac in it? I think he might have been.
Starting point is 00:31:48 I think he was. I think Bernie Mac was in it. I've got the list right here. He was. Who else was in it? Let's see. Clooney, Bernie Mac, Brad Pitt. No other names I wrote.
Starting point is 00:32:00 Casey Affleck. Okay. KCF. Seventh, Pearl Harbor. Yep. I think that had the guy that my then-girlfriend had a crush on. Is his name like Josh? Josh Harnet.
Starting point is 00:32:15 Harnet, that's right, Josh Harnett. Number six, the Mummy Returns. Five, Donald Trump would approve Rush Hour 2. Ah, that's right. How about Rush Hour 2 being the fifth biggest movie in America? They were huge. I didn't realize how huge they were. Fourth Monsters, Inc.
Starting point is 00:32:35 Third, Shrek. And this is where things started to turn, Shannon, is about now. Second Lord of the Rings, Fellowship of the Ring. First Harry Potter and the Sorcercercerstown. See, this is about the time that we decided everything had to be superhero fantasy. Yep. It was about 2001. I've never seen those.
Starting point is 00:33:00 Never will. Chris, go ahead, Chris. Hey, guys. I hope you're doing good. Two things. One on the cover signs, how about Elvis Presley, Houndog?
Starting point is 00:33:11 That's a cover? Who did that one originally? I think Big Mama Thornton was her name. You probably heard it if you hear a clip. You probably hear her freaking out. I love her name. I don't know anything about Big Mama Thornton. She sounds just like Big Mama Thornton.
Starting point is 00:33:27 I love it. All right, good. What else you got? Hey, on your bowl game, I hope, I can't want to listen to it. I hope you get to take calls because I want to hear you in reaction. Producer tells you, your first call is in the line. It's Bob and Jamestown. If it's Bob and James Town, we're ending it right there.
Starting point is 00:33:43 Appreciate the call. Bob and Jamestown is not allowed to call the Western Kentucky Southern Miss game. He's not. I don't think. Are you serious about taking calls during a play-by-play game? Yes. It's not how it works. works though.
Starting point is 00:33:59 But see, that's how change is made. Do you think that they said back when we had rotary phones, that's not a cell phone. That's not how phones work. Yeah, but this is like going from a cell phone back to a rotary phone. If you're taking calls during a game, that's what the pre-imps games for. No, it's revolutionary. It's not. Although if Myron doesn't come up with a better catchphrase, it might be better to take calls.
Starting point is 00:34:24 Do you want Myron coming out there and going, pickle me Tinder after, like, come on. Stook to him like peanut butter and jelly. It stuck to him like corn and anything. You're like, come on, man. Yeah. You need to tell him to calm down on the catchphrases. Mike, go ahead, Mike. Hey, man, I got a quick question about your interrupted podcast.
Starting point is 00:34:45 Yes. Really enjoy listening to it. Have you ever considered asking John Federman to be on? Because I think he was being a really good interview. I'd love to have him on. He's, you know, you may remember, back when he was lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania, he invited us to the state house. Do you remember that back then?
Starting point is 00:35:07 Yes, I do. I'd seen him on something on TV and I was like, I really like this guy and he wears hoodies and all that. And then since he's been a senator, I've reached out to him a few times and haven't heard anything back. So I have not reached out to me about the podcast, but I've reached out to him about other things. And that's a good idea.
Starting point is 00:35:27 I'll try again. I mean, I, you know, yeah, I'd love to have him on. Okay, thanks. The Terry Miner's interview was really good. Appreciate it, sir. Thank you very much. Let's go to Stephanie. Go ahead, Stephanie.
Starting point is 00:35:42 Hey, first time, long time. Who are? What's up? Have you heard of, are you aware of the toy drive with Mo Diabate today? They, no, that was Darius's. No, what is it? Well, I was probably looking for Darius's. I was trying to recall who you had on, and I came across this, and it says that he's having a toy drive today in a little store in Chevy Cheat.
Starting point is 00:36:10 Yeah, so what is the store? I don't know about it. It's like a collections. I forgot what it's called. It's like Kentucky Collections or something. Kentucky Road Show. Jimmy's Kentucky Road Show. Yep, that's what it is.
Starting point is 00:36:26 Yep. So there you go. I was like, is it for real? Yes, yes, it is. Yeah, because he talked about it on the Leach report this morning. So there you go. Kentucky Road Show. Okay.
Starting point is 00:36:38 All right. Well, good luck. Appreciate it. Sean. Go ahead, Sean. Hey, this may be a question for a day when Drew and Ryan are here, but you guys can speak for them. So I worked in an office at one time. We all were former college athletes and very competitive.
Starting point is 00:36:52 And we came up with our own decapalon. You each got to pick two random things that you've got to pick two random things that you thought you were good at and compete against everybody else. If you guys could put together a decathlon of events, what would those events be and who would win? I need to hear this debate. Let's just say, I appreciate the call. What would be two sports or two events, Shannon, you think you'd be better at than the
Starting point is 00:37:12 rest of the people? I'm better at ping pong than all of you. So I would definitely add ping pong. I could crush all of you in ping pong. I'm trying to think of something I could even do. I feel like you're good at something, aren't you? I would say drinking beer, but Drew could out chug me. Drew, you name beating Drew at that.
Starting point is 00:37:29 I've watched Drew take down men much stronger than you at that. Yeah, maybe something baseball related. I don't know. Ryan's going to be pretty good at that stuff. You know, to win for the group? Yeah. I don't know. I feel confident that I would beat all of you in any sort of trivia or any sort of like, you know, I don't want to say any sort of intellectual thing.
Starting point is 00:37:54 I could probably beat all of you in a foot race. I know I could beat Drew right now. He can't even walk. So then it'd be between me and Ryan. You think you can't beat, you can't beat Mario. Well, if we're throwing Mario, I thought we're talking about the four of us. No, we're too, we'll throw Mario and Billy in. You ain't beat Mario to foot race.
Starting point is 00:38:09 So what, who, who, I guess I'm useless then. I don't think you can win anything. I guess you could win like a musical challenge. There you go. Yeah. Of some sort. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:18 Maybe wrestling. But if you're talking about like, like, games kind of thing. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I don't know. I think Drew's really good. at the thing, where's the thing you slide the stuff on the, what do you call that? You know what I'm talking about?
Starting point is 00:38:33 Like, it's like... Shuffleboard. Shuffle board, but like at bars. What do you call that thing? I think it's still called shuffleboard. Okay, he's really good at that. We've played that over the years. He's really good at that.
Starting point is 00:38:45 Yeah, ping pong. I got you. Jeff, who's next? Jeff. Hey, good morning. How are you guys doing? Good morning. Hey, I have a question.
Starting point is 00:38:55 And a few years ago, I actually got to talk to Wesley Woodyard, and he said when he finished pro football, he'd like to come back to Kentucky and help coach. Is anyone ever contacting him? And I thought it was Will Stein coming in, putting together a new staff, and I know it's pretty full. Yeah, I don't know. I mean, I think Wesley could be good.
Starting point is 00:39:16 You have to remember about former players. One of the things you have to remember is this. Everybody's inclination is to go get former players. and I've always had the view don't get former players. Not because they can't do it, but because we tend to elevate former players in our minds because of what they did on the field.
Starting point is 00:39:37 Now, do I think Wesley Woodyard could be a good coach? Sure. But there are probably a lot of other people that could as well. And for every Wesley Woodyard, there's somebody else, there's like 20 other guys that are like him that would also have a job. So I tend to say, let the coaches pick. and if it ends up being a former player, that's awesome.
Starting point is 00:39:56 But, you know, he's picked four former U of L players. And I think as long as they win, I'm good with it. So I think, like, you should certainly hear those folks out, but there are a lot of former U.K. players that would love to be a coach here. You can't make them all a coach, so I think you just have to let the coaches do with what they think is right. Thanks. Appreciate the call. I've got mine, by the way.
Starting point is 00:40:22 What? And I beat you in ping pong in Tampa at the house. I don't believe that. Pickleball. I'm the best pickleball player out of the four of us. I think if I practice, I beat you. Get the good life with cornbread. I ain't playing, though, just for the record.
Starting point is 00:40:36 Get the good life with cornbread hemp this holiday season. Starting point is 00:40:57 That's cornbread hemp. This is the good life. Who do you think it would come in last in a race between the six of us? I'm not confident you'd win, but you certainly wouldn't come in last. Who would come in last? I'm going to guess Drew.
Starting point is 00:41:10 I'm going to say Billy. Bill, but he's skinny, though. I mean, he's probably... Yeah, but that's different than speak. I think I would beat Drew, but I think Drew would beat Billy. I don't know what Ryan can do anymore. You think Drew would beat Billy in a race?
Starting point is 00:41:26 No way. I do, yeah. No, we got to set this up because there's no way that's up. You think Billy would beat Drew? Absolutely. I'll put 100 bucks on it. All right, now I'm going with Drew. Now, he needs to be healthy.
Starting point is 00:41:39 Like, not Drew today. Drew any day. I love Drew, but he's not beating Billy in a race. Okay. I don't know. Can Ryan run now? I mean, there was a time he would have beaten us all. Can he still do it?
Starting point is 00:41:52 I mean, Ryan, you just said it was in a car rack. He probably came. Mario's first. I think after that, it's way open in the air. We'll take a break. We're right back. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind.

I'm talking, Tripp Fontaine, Ryan Clark. Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing. And we're still chasing it. And we don't know when we've done enough. Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses.
Starting point is 00:43:27 Steve Burns, Dustin Ross, because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth? Are you a good person because you're afraid? Because that's two different intentions, bro. Absolutely. And that's two different levels of trust. I want you to just really be a good person. This is Clivert Taylor the 4th. And on my podcast, The Clivert Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff.
Starting point is 00:44:02 Like being an internet famous referee. We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me. He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What? Time out. Quarterback on office, Blue, 42. Hey, ref, my mom, I want you.
Starting point is 00:44:19 to wave at her. What? Where's he at? Hey, Miss Parker. Listen to the Cliverts show on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. American soccer is about to explode. The World Cup is coming. Ramos sending on to Ernie Stewart the chip. I'm Tom Ramos. I'm Tom Bow. On our podcast, inside American soccer, you'll get the real storylines. I'm not worried about Polisic. I'm not worried about Balagan, I'm not worried about McKinney. My only concern is what happens in the back. The biggest decisions.
Starting point is 00:45:05 If you're going to look at stats and numbers, he has no shot at making this World Cup team. And the truth about the U.S. national team. It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals or potentially a great run into the semifinals. The World Cup is almost here. Experience it all with us. Listen, Inside American Soccer with Tom Bogart and Tabramos
Starting point is 00:45:28 on the iHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, wherever you get your podcast. We were talking during the break. I really shouldn't have no idea who would come second through six with our group. It really depends on if you're on A-A-V-A-Van that day or not. Ambien. Or Ambien, whatever it was you were on. Yeah. I mean, there are people who ride me saying I'd come last.
Starting point is 00:45:52 I don't think I would. It wouldn't shot me if I did, but I don't think I would. I'm more athletic. People like it's like the dancing thing. Like everybody's like, oh, you can't dance. Mario did that video of everybody dancing. Was I not better than the rest of them? I was.
Starting point is 00:46:05 Like, people don't. But it wouldn't shot me if I came in. I hear you talking yourself into during the break you finish in second. Or sixth. Or six. Mostly second, though. There was a time Ryan would have been second. I'm not sure if that's still true, though.
Starting point is 00:46:21 Yeah, 1986. Ran at the Legend Stadium. He was faster than we thought. But that was a while ago. That was probably a decade ago. Right. I don't know. What do you think the order would be?
Starting point is 00:46:41 Mario first. Me or Billy, well, I'll put me second, Billy third. Ryan fourth, you fifth, through sixth. I would go most likely, Shannon second, me third, well then that puts Billy ahead of Drew yeah yeah Billy's probably ahead of Drew
Starting point is 00:47:10 there's only one way to settle this thing and that's just to go out there and do it on a football field somewhere I mean it would be that would I think we could like charge admission to the five of us running we all see that Mario would come in first
Starting point is 00:47:23 here's the other part of this how far are we running because if you're talking about 100 meters a lap I'm not winning a lap I'm not winning a lap we're all dead A lot. We're all dead. That's a hundred meter sprint. Didn't we do a hundred meter sprint once and Ryan was faster than we thought? That was out when we were in the mountains. I think that was during COVID. I don't think I was a part of that. But I think we did. Ryan might be a sneaky second. But I do think Ryan's put on weight over the years. Yeah. And he doesn't exercise. But there was a time we did something at a stadium and he ran a lot faster than I thought he could. Because remember, he was the stolen base king. That's right. Yeah. Many, many, many, many years ago.
Starting point is 00:48:04 many years ago. Patricia, go ahead, Patricia. Hey, I was just wondering with this JM ideal, how it will affect the fans going to the games, and also how it will affect keeping the former players on this roster around next year. What do you mean by the fans going to the games? What do you mean? Like, if we don't get players, will it affect the fan base going to the game?
Starting point is 00:48:34 games or... Yeah, if we don't win. I mean, if we don't win, I think that would be the case. I mean, ultimately, I said this to somebody yesterday who I was talking to about it. If they win, none of this matters, right? Like, if they win, then no one will care what the deal is. It's only a deal if they don't win. And people go, why aren't we winning?
Starting point is 00:49:01 And then people want to know what happened. But Patricia, if we're winning, if we're winning, then I don't think anybody cares what the deal is, to be honest. Does that make sense? Yeah. Yeah, and also I've seen something where Jacob put on there that they're renegotiating the former players contracts, try to keep them next year. Yes.
Starting point is 00:49:23 Yeah, and that'll be happening forever. So I appreciate the call. I think if Mark Pope wants to keep the guys currently on the roster, he'll be able to do it, assuming they've had a positive experience, which I have no reason to think they haven't. Will, go ahead, Will. Well, they haven't played well, but whether or not they're happy year, that's only they know that.
Starting point is 00:49:45 Will, go ahead. Yeah, Matt, I think you're a perfect resource for my question or point that I want to make about this JMI issue specifically regarding the signing of the waiver, the request that Mitch and universities asking. There's three factors, I think, that we need to look at. One of them, I think, is a law in Kentucky. Back in April or May, they passed Senate Bill 3. And then Washington, well, it talks about limiting the athletes to keep them from going out.
Starting point is 00:50:21 That's in the article, yes. No, that I think that's an issue. You're right. That's in the article. I need to study more how those two things work together because I don't know. Yes, please do that for us because I think, Mitch and the university, while they're not really transparent, I think the factor with them is it's on the books in Frankfurt. And it mentions that they did, though.
Starting point is 00:50:44 I mean, they were the one that got that law written, though. Right. Yeah. Right. Exactly. So, I mean, that's what I assumed. Yeah. And what was the second and third thing real quick?
Starting point is 00:50:54 Okay. It's in Washington, D.C. They're trying to pass a law, and the SCORE Act didn't pass. And now they're talking about the safe act. So I wish you could help us and dig into Senate Bill 3, Senate Bill 3, and then look at the SCORE Act and the Safe Act. I will do that. I mean, that's going to be a long conversation.
Starting point is 00:51:13 I appreciate the call. I will do that on an interrupted podcast probably after Christmas. But I still, to be fair, want to have a conversation with UK and JMI to get their perspective. Because I think we owe them that before we just completely, and I just haven't been able to do that yet. I mean, I've asked, but they they haven't had that conversation with me. So, but all those are good questions.
Starting point is 00:51:38 I think they're completely fair. We will be at the bar tomorrow. Come join me for trivia tonight. We'll see you later. This has been Kentucky Sports Radio. Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
