No. No, 502. 5-0-7. Yes. 30-something, 30-something. I don't have it. What is it? 502, 7, because 5 plus 2 equals 7, 35, 36, 80.

Just rolls off the tongue. How could I possibly forget that? 502, 735, 3680. The AVis and Glass Tech Machine is back in hand because Matt is not with us this week. He's off. Matter of fact, Drew, Matt is off, Shannon is off, Billy R. Sports is off, and Mario is off. How does this keep happening when I'm working? I distinctly remember a meeting where we all can't leave at the same time.

And now this is twice in one calendar year where everyone's just left and left me behind. At least I have you this time. Earlier, you were part of the group that left me too. Well, they put all this on your shoulders because they know you can handle it. Okay. And that's why we had Drew Week. Drew Paloosa all week, you know, with all your special guest, you hosted the show, did a great job.

That's why we had total faith and confidence in you. Wasn't Shannon on vacation last week? I think he was. And he gets a vacation this week? I texted him last night. I said, Shannon, I said, are you back in Kentucky yet? He said, no. I said, when are you coming back?

January 2nd. Unbelievable. Well, I feel like it's been a vacation. I don't think, have we had a morning show since the last Tuesday? No. It's been quite the gap here. Tuesday before Christmas, the Bellarmine game. We did a 30-minute KSR with Jack Pilgrub and Me.

Then we did the pre-game show, had the game, did the post-game show. We've not had a live show since. Not even the pre-show was live this morning. So we are first, this is our first time back. So let's just kind of recap. How is your Christmas? Oh, it's a great Christmas. Also great to be here at Lexington Catholic High School.

We are at Lexington Catholic High School. The Lexington Catholic Christmas holiday classic they've had for over 30 years is going on this week. And when they're down to the final four, we'll tell you all about who's playing today and what's coming up. But they were nice enough to invite us to come out today. So I'm like, well, yeah, we'll do it. Come out here and do the show during the little basketball. We've done this many times. I remember one year we got some Ben Johnson T-shirts when he was scoring a million points.

This one feels a little awkward. I don't remember an active practice. You know, Brandon Salzman's down there trying to coach them up, and we're up here yapping about KSR. I feel like we're disturbing them a little bit. It's kind of quiet down there. And that's the Lexington varsity team, and they played tonight in the final four at 630.

So I guess this is their shoot-around, walk-through shoot-around. It's a big Hank Woodall down there. Hank Woodall, who wears number 41. Well, Pope. The Mark Pope 41 is back at Lexington Catholic. So how was your Christmas? What was under your tree? Wasn't a normal Christmas?

We didn't do a lot of gifting. You know, Abby and I are expecting, so all the gifts we got are baby clothes and baby things. The days of you getting something are over. Those are long ago. I'm fine with that. A little bit of unique circumstances. We have some health problems going around the family. My mom is in the hospital.

She had surgery last week. It went well, so we're happy there, but she's still recovering. So it was a unique Christmas. I spent time in the hospital. We didn't even get our decorations up. So it didn't feel like Christmas, but we still enjoyed the time away outside of the circumstances. Made it up to Ohio for a night to check in on Abby's family. They're going through stuff too.

So the Franklins, we have a lot on our plate, but we still manage to get through the holiday and have a good one. I'm glad you said that about your mom. Because at the end of the postgame show, I was trying to give a shout out to get a prayer chain going for our family. Got a little emotional because your mom means a lot to us. Matt's dad, Larry, going through some stuff and just kind of all hit me all at one time. But I'm glad you said that your mom is doing. You know, she went through the surgery fine and she's doing it a little better. Yeah, that's why I was gone Tuesday.

I missed the Bellarmine game, too. She was in surgery during the game. But she's over UK. It went well, so thank you to the team. She's still recovering. Hopefully get her out soon. But it was a different last week for us, but all things considered, it went well and we're pushing forward. Very ready for 2026, though, right?

I got to admit, the list of things we've gone through this year is a bit much for one family to take. So we're very excited about New Year's Eve coming up. But we're doing well overall. The Franklin family is way overdue for some good news to happen in that family. Yeah, but other than that, we still enjoyed Christmas, had some time away. As I said, I didn't get to see Bellarmine, but I tried to stay in touch throughout that wild day. I heard before I had to go over to the hospital on Tuesday, I did hear your, I don't want to call it awkward, because it wasn't awkward, but it was like a weird. You all did a morning show, then flipped a switch.

I didn't think there was a commercial break, but I heard you and Jack the last time KSR was live on Tuesday. So thank you, Jack, for filling in, and you did a good job in those unique circumstances. before the rare 1 p.m. weekday game. Yeah, the 10.30 a.m. basketball pregame show started. So we had to fill 30 minutes of KSR, so we tried to do it a little bit. I also want to say that Matt's dad, Larry, also doing better. He's home recovering. So, you know, if life does us a couple of curveballs, but we're getting through it.

My dad's going through some stuff right now. So everybody's kind of on the injured list, on the disabled list right now. Yeah, we appreciate all the prayers from the listeners and everyone. I know Matt posted some selfies with his parents. They were all smiles. They're doing well. We won't hear from him for a while. But they're doing as good as can be, too.

So you mentioned the Bellarmine game. That's obviously the biggest event that's happened since we've been gone. There's only really two storylines. I want to get your take on both of them. One, the emergence of Cam Williams, eight three-pointers. Matter of fact, he was eight of ten. He only took ten shots. All of them were three-pointers, and he hit eight of them.

That's the Cam Williams we've been waiting to see since he signed as he committed during March Madness last year. Yeah, well, I'll take my victory lap. He was my MVP pick. The MVP run that I'm on this season is truly historic. It is unbelievable. I'm not great at picking the outcome of the games or the scores of games, but I'm close to batten a thousand on MVP picks.

I and others have been saying here recently, more Cam Williams and more Cam Williams, whatever it takes. Give him an opportunity. I didn't foresee him to go off quite like he did, but I did know there was a lot more that he was ready to unleash, and I'm glad he had a breakout game. You know, I know it's Bellarmine, leave the opponent aside. He needed to see some shots go in.

and having a career day like that, it just gets me excited about what he can do next when we finally get back to playing basketball here on Saturday. The guys that go to practice, they just say he just doesn't miss in practice. Well, that hadn't translated into the games. Okay, we saw it against Bellarmine what they're talking about now. Yeah, and he and Noah are considered the two shooters who have shot so well in practice, but Williams just has another level to his game that Noah can't reach. Defensively, he's been pretty solid all year.

It was a point where he had the highest plus minus on the team. He's been rebounding well when he's in. He's just, his opportunities have been limited. But here lately, he just keeps getting better and better and stacking those games as now he's made it to where Pope has to have him in the main rotation. Maybe not a starter, but he's going to have to play a lot of minutes. That's not going to say, do you start him now? Because they seem to play better.

When you got somebody on the, can spread the floor, they can knock down shots like that, that just opens up things for Otega, who almost had a triple double. That's crazy. 10 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists. Otega, almost a triple double. Good for him. And then another guy who, you know, he's got to take somebody's minutes. I mean, Diabate had a great game.

He did. Quite as filling up the box scores, those other guys, but he showed how valuable he is. All three of them were great. I will say, since I wasn't watching, there was a moment where I looked at my phone early in the game, and it was like, Bellarmine was winning like 15 to 14, and I put my phone back on my pocket. I was like, I can't go through this today. But what happened in the beginning? I know it got better, and it turned into a beautiful, incredible, extraordinary win,

but why was it close in the beginning? Well, that gets us to the other side, the other talking point. Bellarmine did whatever they wanted to do on offense. They executed their offense and did whatever they wanted, and Kentucky could not stop them. Kentucky's defense had problems the entire game. Bellarmine, the Knights from the City of Louisville. That's them.

Okay, just, okay. Yeah, that team used to be Division 2 in the same comments with Kentucky Wesleyan, bitter rival for Kentucky Wesleyan, just did whatever they wanted against Kentucky. So their alarm bells were sounding during the postgame show, because look, you know, against Indiana, they held Indiana and St. John's both under 70. Two power teams, and you let Bellarmine do whatever they wanted. So where are we on the defensive? We got to get better in these first halfs.

I mean, I've enjoyed our comebacks against St. John's and our comeback against Indiana, I think you're down seven at halftime of both those games. You know, last year there was this issue. I mean, Bellarmine, I know it was only for a few minutes. You go on to win by a ton and guys had great games. but whatever is happening in the early on in these games. We've got to get that fixed. So are you all leaning more towards they're a good defensive team

like they were against Indiana St. John's and just kind of took it easy against Bellarmine? Or are we really kind of a bad defensive team at times? I mean, I still worry about defense. This one I will chalk up to these holiday games. If you go back in time, there's a lot of them that have been funky. That's very true. You're playing at 1 o'clock.

They had just gotten their big wins, a little bit of a win streak they needed before Christmas. I'll chalk that one up to just weird circumstances. I know Quaitons didn't play much. Loaded and play at all. I think they'll get better. Now, the schedule gets much harder. But, I mean, we'll get back to that full strength that we saw in the second half of St. John's. We'll throw away Bellarmine and say it was just a good game.

You get some guys going like Cam Williams and your boy Jasper were the big game. Played well. He still maybe takes some bad shots once in a while, but as a point guard, I think he had seven assists and one turnover. And we're at the point, you know, there's been a debate. Well, they look for someone. Looks like they won't. Somebody's going to have to step up behind Lowe and hopefully not in place of Lowe, but that will be a concern all year.

And, you know, in the last non-conference, you know, team not ranked in the top whatever, you know, Jasper made the most of that opportunity to tell Pope he wants a little more minutes there. So Lowe didn't play. That was the right move, right? Yeah, that was definitely the right move. I think everybody was in on that. You could give him, this is such a long break between games.

If you just take them out like they did, I mean, that's pretty unique middle of the year to be able to rest the shoulder for almost two weeks like that. And as you said, Quaitons had limited minutes, didn't play it all the second half, played a little bit in the first half. Didn't really need him, but yet kind of threw him out there enough just to kind of continue to get that rust knocked off a little bit, getting ready for SEC plays coming up next. I like the clip. Again, he just had the guy with the biocam, remember the player's name for belly. Remember, he was just in hell. He couldn't dribble, he couldn't pass, he couldn't turn around. Quaintains just kind of got his belly out and his massive wingspan out.

doing that to St. John's big guy too. I just so excited for what he brings defensively, especially in those one-on-one matchups. Now, you know, it's a long break between the Bellarmine game and the Alabama game coming up on Saturday. I'm not so sure I like that long break. You know, you've played these. We played, what, 11 games, and you're kind of getting your self-fine-fined

fine-tuned when you've got low back and you've got acquaintance back. Now you've got to take a long break for you play Alabama to lead off your SEC schedule. It's good for low, but as a fan, it stinks. It does stink. acquaintance and that big win. I mean, we're itching to see more basketball. I guess we'll get a few.

Pope will break the silence. We have his call-in show tonight, maybe a press conference tomorrow's, at least get some updates. But that's nothing like real basketball. I can't wait. Even though I don't feel great about the trip to Alabama, that's a heck of an opener for SEC play. I'm excited to just get back to basketball.

It's too long of a lull that we're in here. So one more thing before we put the Belmont game to bed. After the game was over, Mark Pope does his press conference. with media and he comes out and talks to Tom Leach and the fans. And then he rewarded the fans that stuck around after the game by going to one of the big suites down there at Rupp Arena and had an autograph session. All the guys were there.

They would sign whatever they want for as long as they want. Make sure everybody got an autograph. A little Christmas gift for the folks to stay around in Rupp Arena after the game. That was awesome. Another win for Pope with the fan base. And in that game especially, you know, it's a lot of people that aren't normally there. They're getting hand-me-down tickets from season ticket. I don't feel like going.

Maybe you're in visiting family for the holidays. You get to go tickets for a lot cheaper so people can buy them. Secondary market. It's just a different crowd at these December games when school's out. And, you know, everybody appreciates it. But if all home games, people that would appreciate it the most, that was probably the one. So I think it was cool. Pope did it there.

And, you know, being at games over at three, you have so much time. And players aren't rushing out of there. It's not Christmas yet. So it's very cool of them to do that. It looks like they had a huge turnout after the game. taking an advantage of them. Very cool. Like you said, these are a lot of new faces. People that come in the holidays from out of town, get those tickets in their stocking.

Here's early Christmas present. Go to the game. Yeah, there's just a different excitement for these games. You can tell it's people that aren't normally there. Not that, you know, everybody's excited to go to Roperina, but this is more of a once-in-a-lifetime or once-a-season crowd. So we'll take our break. We're at Lexington High School that we'd said is the annual holiday classic, which is usually between the week between Christmas and New Year's. White Greer and Maggard, the sponsor this year. It's had a lot of different names, but it's been around Drew for like over 30 years. And they've had some monster players to play in this over the years. I know a lot of guys have played in the NBA. Elton Brand played in this tournament. Elton Brand played in it. Okay. That's a big name.

Of course, Reed Shepard played in the NBA. this tournament many, many times. Scotty Hobson from over in UHA played here. Darius Miller, Shelvin Mack. A lot of these guys that are going to play in the NBA. They've all played in this tournament. Rajan Rondo played in this tournament.

Forgot about him. But there's been some great stories. One is the Brandon Stockton story where Tubby just came here just to watch a couple basketball games. Just so happens Brandon Stockton and Glasgow's playing. Brandon lit them up for, like, whoever they were playing for like 50 points.

Tubby offered him. scholarship from watching him just in the light here in this game this the this event and of course chris lofton had like 80 one game i mean he was he was shooting him from how he'd he'd step across half court and just start bombing them and just kept hitting him so a lot of good stories that are generated out of this lexton catholic holiday classic yeah probably a lot of guys have earned scholarships to different schools over the years from this uh stockton being a headliner i think my guy erin flina was on his team uh that year that might be the one where he always says he and stockton combined for 51 and I think Fleeter hit like a free throw.

My Madisonville Maroons have been this in a few times. We don't have the names of Elton Brand, but we've had some good teams show up. Anytime Madisonville's played in this, I've made it over to catch all their games. Was Malaccombe Rino in this last year? Did they just play here? Because I'm not watching that game here too. So, yeah, it's always a fun event. Like I said, it's been a tradition here in Lexington for, it seems like forever.

Travis Perry and Lyon County were here the last couple years as well. Did he play Reed in this? I know they had a big showdown. It might have been in this classic. It may have been one year. I believe it was. If not, we'll just say it is, and go with it. So coming up at noon, McCracken County is going to play Woodford County,

and that's the team that's the game that will be warming up, probably towards the end of our show. Second game today is Great Crossing versus Marshall. But the final four tonight, Lexington Catholic versus Boyd County, and then Davis County versus North Laurel. North Laurel, North Laurel, Kian, an upset last night. They beat Brian Station last night. So the final four is set?

Yeah, is the draft king's points spread out yet? No, but we can pick the final four here. We'll go through the final four. First game is Lexington, Catholic, Boyd County. Well, I mean, since I'm watching in Lexington Catholic right now, have a little bit of advantage. I like what they're running.

I'm not going to give it away what Brandon Salzman has been telling them. But I like the size with number 41, Hank Woodall, number 24, whose name is escaping me. Max. Yeah, he's their best player, right? He's been that size since he was in middle school. Well, he's tough. He was Duncan in middle school. So I will take Lex Catholic here.

Great coaching, too. Well, Brandon Salzman is the dean of coaches around the area. He's been here at Lexington Calick since you were a baby. That's right You've been here for so long. Second game tonight then is Davis County and North Laurel. North Laurel's got the Davidson kid. Reese Davidson, who's really, really good.

Davis County's got a kid too. Gosh, of course, I can't think of his name right now. He's really good also. They both have Division I offers. Who you like? Davis County from the third region or North Laurel from the 13th region. I know Davidson's one of the top players in the state. I think he's ranked second and on three,

but I got to go with your hometown of Owensboro and Davis County here. Shined a little light on my side of the state. You know, Owensprose is one of my hometown. I know, that's why I picked him. So we're probably going to Davis County. All right, so there's your Draft King segment. I don't know if we can have a high school tournament in Draft Kings. Yeah, probably not.

But it can still be our segment. You mentioned Woodford's here. Isn't that where my guy Mello Boone went? Or did I get my schools wrong? Say again. Mellow Boone, didn't he go to Woodford? He went to Woodford his senior year. That's right.

I have to bring him up. Have you kept up with how well he's playing at Western? Yes. You remember, I saw him at Douglas. Yes. And he was a freshman. Yes. And we used to have our KSR recruits.

I think Matt had one football player he named a four-star five years ago. It ended up being awesome. And I said, I don't know anything about this freshman, but he's my favorite player in the state. That was when he was just a whittled bitty baby at Douglas. A little baby. Now he has won Conference USA Freshman of the Year four times already. It's only December. He had a nasty dunk against Vanderbilt.

They played them close at Western, having some great games. But you mentioned Woodford, and he came to mind it. I hated that he left Douglas to go. play there, but we got to shout him out. He's having a great freshman season in Bowling Green. Yeah, grew up here in Lexington, played his first three years at Douglas, transferred to Woodford for his senior year to play with Jasper. Still mad about it.

But Jasper then left to play an overtime elite, so that could have been a super team if those two guys would have been together. Yeah, they went to create a duo, and Jasper left him hanging and stepped away, but still good for Melo having a great freshman season at Western so far. So the Davis County player's name is Jonathan Moss. Okay. And he already

I haven't seen you. So let's talk. We did some basketball talk. Let's do some football talk. Okay. The biggest news from UK football, I think, was that Ty Bryant decided to stay. Schools were coming after him hard for obvious reasons. You know, he's going to be one of the top safeties in the conference next year.

There were some big-name schools throwing some big-time money at him. He decides. to stay for his senior year at Kentucky, I think that's huge. Yeah, I mean, the year didn't go as well as we wanted as Kentucky fans, but Tide, led to SEC and interceptions, led Kentucky in tackles. I think he's the only all-conference player Kentucky had this year. So if you're going to bring somebody back, he was already a leader in the locker room. He's played every game since he's been at UK as a true freshman.

We're excited for Stein to go out and bring in new players, new locker room, but you want to keep a little continuity. I can't think of a better guy to keep than Ty Bryant in the back of that defense with how well he's played and how many games he's played. It sounds like the reports, too, Coach Stein and the defensive coordinator, is Shackleford? The new defensive coordinator, what's his name? Bateman. But tell Shackleford, tell him. Those two guys convinced Ty to stick around, be our leader that we need on defense.

And, you know, Sisko's been on our show. His dad Siskel's been on our show many times. He's a good friend of mine. So I was excited to see that Ty decided to kind of be a part of something new. it's going to happen here at Kentucky. And we lean with the local kids. We just mentioned Douglas was available. Ty Bryant growing up in Lexington,

connected with Cisco. We've been watching it forever. It's good for him to hang around. You mentioned another offer you got. People were watching Florida with Summerall and just Brad White and just following that operation. I mean, that would be hard to turn down a team of that caliber in the conference, even though Florida has been down lately, but it's good. Tom made the decision to stay.

I think that'll be a big help in the locker room as everything becomes new again, having him around to bridge the gap. And also, Coach Stein added, a lot of fans were happy to see, a special teams coach. Parker Fleming comes with Stein on his staff at Oregon, right? It was like an offense analyst or something in Oregon, brings him here to be a special teams coach and inside receivers coach at Kentucky. Yeah, he was the coordinator at Special Teams coordinator in Ohio State for several years too. But now the Roush and Lucketer are saying he still might be in an analyst role in that actual

true assistant recruiting spot still might be open. So Parker Fleming is on the staff, but it's unclear if he's actually going to be a true assistant. So that might still be open. But bringing him over to help with special teams, guy that's been at Oregon and Ohio State in that job, my goodness, yeah, we'll take the help. Getting a lot of coaches just from winning cultures, even though if the team wasn't good in the last year, you're getting LSU, A&M, Oregon, bringing in a lot of guys from winning

Oh, yeah, they beat Brian Station last night. Yeah, but a full court shot for Cooper Elza. Shout out to him. I have a few comments from the board also.

Okay, all right, let's do it. People are enjoying the shoesqueaks. They said it's like CBS in the background. Kind of like we're pumping in bird noises on. At the Masters, we got a little basketball background. Well, earlier they were doing their practice, and now they're doing like their breakdown, They're scout on the team they got to play tonight. Davis, no, they play, Boyd County.

Who, I did hear him say, averages 34-3s a game. Don't be giving away the game plan. This is top secret. This is stat. This is facts. Boyd County averages 34-3s a game, and they hit 17 the other night against GRC. I just heard him say that. Okay, well, don't tell them what we just heard about the press,

because they invite us in their private practice. It's like that time we're at the SEC tournament, and we weren't supposed to be in practice, and Tom Hart walked over. He was like, what are you all doing here? Was it Texas A&M? Yeah, we were getting all kinds of the inside baseball we weren't supposed to get. I kind of feel like that's happening again.

Also from the board, though, while we're doing our show. From Boyd County. James W. 1988 on K.S. Board says, Watch out. One of the most underrated players in the state is Jacob Spurlock for Boyd County. Maybe I should go down and tell them if they don't already know. I bet they've already talked about him on the scout right now. They're breaking down what they're going to do against Boyd County tonight.

Well, that comes from James W. 1988, and I trust him. I do, too. know, Rajan Rondo, we mentioned him. His son is in this tournament right now. Pierre. As the point guard for North Oldham as an eighth grader. That's crazy. That's crazy.

And I think he's averaging, like, close to 20 a game already as an eighth grader. I'm torn on all this, like, players I grew up watching, now having kids that are playing. Yes. On one hand, it's cool, and I'm happy for them. On the other hand, I just want to go getting bed at a nursing home and go to sleep. It makes me feel so old, even though it is exciting, that. You know, Rondo's one of a million examples, but the fact that he has a kid, even though he is only in middle school,

that is already playing and we're talking about and watching, it's kind of, there's two sides to that. I don't like how old it makes me feel. So North Oldham lost to Boyd County last night, and I'm not sure who they play next in the losers bracket, but the game that's coming up is Woodford County and McCracken County. That's our game we got. Well, I have your full schedule if you'd want it.

Okay. What would you like to know? Where does North Oldham play in Pierre Rondo? When is his next game? They play Lyon County at 430 today. At 430 today? Yes. All right.

You want we just run through it? 12 o'clock right here, right as the show ends. We'll hand it off right to Woodford County versus McCracken. At 1.30, little Marshall County Great Crossing. 2.30, West Jessman versus Paintsville. I skipped over 1 o'clock, Collins v. Taylor County. But basketball all day. All day. All day, Lester. White Greer and Maggard. classic. Kind of non-basket, non-sports-related. Do you know there was like an earthquake just down the road in Garrett County yesterday? Yeah, Lancaster.

I'm not great at scales, but a 3.1, that seems. It feels like it's kind of big? Yeah, the stories I was reading said it could be felt in Danville and Richmond. Oh, really? Yeah. I don't know if everyone felt it, but it at least registered that far away. I felt like that got underreported. It's a big deal, right?

I think it's a big deal, and why is it happening in Garrett County? It just had, you know, luckily it wasn't too bad, no big damage or anything, but it's just more of this weather stuff happening around Kentucky. I'm tired of it. Well, especially since it was 71 degrees yesterday. I'm outside working around my pool yesterday, 71, and today, driving to work, it was 45 degrees cooler, 26. Last night, I did cover zero with Matt. I've checked him with Matt. How's he doing? He's doing well. I can share Matt Scoop lighter if you'd like. But we did it a little after midnight. It's pretty late. I have the window to my room wide open, letting the air in as it covers zero. Just a little quick nap and I get up later. It's snowing and I'm freezing just trying to get to my car.

Crazy turnaround from open window to blizzard in just a few hours. What in the name of Bill Meck is going on? I don't know. How can it drop 45 degrees overnight? Is there earthquake related? Maybe. Have you ever been in an earthquake? I think I've been in two.

I was in a summer school class in Jasper, Indiana, and it was a chemistry class. and the beakers started shaking. You know, when the place we started saying, the beakers were all show. We're like, we didn't know what was going on. That's only one of you. Yeah, Matt and together, we were with the Tennis Channel at Indian Wells out there in California.

We just checked in the hotel. We're like dropping bags, and then there was one while we were at the hotel together. I mean, everything was moving. I don't know how would it register on the scale, but it felt like I was on a ride and the room was on the ride with me because everything was moving around.

It was quick. It didn't last more than, five to ten seconds, but I've never experienced anything like it. But no damage in Garrett County, though, right? No, hopefully not. They're not in Richmond, Danville, but also felt it. But we need to figure out our weather here. 859-2-87.

Rick, who's our first caller since we've been yacking for most of the show? Guy Roy, up first. Roy, go ahead, Roy. Yeah, how are you guys doing? I want to make two comments and see what you think about them. I watched the Oregon football game last Saturday and the second quarter, all they talked about was Will Stein going to Kentucky. We got more pub on that show than you would have paid $3 million for in the Super Bowl.

I wish somebody would tell Mark Pope he needs to get another point guard because if Jalen Lowe goes down, that's it. You know, I know that's a doctor to be the point guard, but I don't think he can be. I appreciate it. And I get off the list. Thank you. Let's take the two points that Roy brought up. The fact that Oregon is still alive and Will Stein is staying with Oregon to be their offensive coordinator.

It is giving Kentucky a lot of publicity, but are you in the boat that he needs to be here in Lexington, boots on the ground, getting a transfer portal people lined up to come in. Yeah, selfishly, I'd want him here getting his job done, but it is exciting to see him staying in it, scored a lot of points in the first round. Even ESPN.com this morning, the main picture on the college football page is Will Stein. someone wrote a story. It's about more than Stein, but it's all these coaches that have taken other jobs

and are finishing the playoffs. And he's a big part of it, obviously, going from Oregon to an SEC school his first gig. But he is the header image on ESPN.com kind of talking about how he's going through it. It's got a lot of quotes from him about how he couldn't leave Oregon. But, you know, it's keeping him busy. He says a lot of caffeine and relying, you know,

kind of got to delegate some of your jobs right now. But he and many others are wearing two hats as they finish the playoff here. And the more Oregon succeeds and scores points, it's going to make it look more and more like such a great hire that Kentucky got him to come here next season. Yeah, and it was pretty cool. You know, they're cutting to, as the caller said,

they're cutting to him on the sideline. Even though he's still in the Ducks gear, you know if we're looking at our head coach being a part of the playoff as the sports winded down right now, him being in the mix. Maybe they win again and keep it going at this point. So they play Texas Tech. Correct. On New Year's Day.

Yeah, there's one New Year's. Eve game. That's Georgia. Ohio State and Miami. Then you get Georgia, Ole Miss, and Alabama, Indiana, Oregon, Texas Tech on, what is it, Thursday? Yeah. Thursday, yeah. So I suspect a lot of Kentucky fans are going to still

be watching and following Oregon, because that's our guy. I'm kind of like you. I wish he was here, but I sure do want him to succeed and win. That kind of put him in the spotlight a little bit more. Can help recruiting, and just for his happiness. True. I want him to be happy, riding that momentum as he moves to Lexington. I just wish maybe he could throw on like a little pin

or maybe a little UK emblem on his hat. I mean, we already know it's him, but just a little something extra on the sideline when they're showing him during the TV broadcast. A little tip of the cap to the cats would be nice too. Now, Roy's other point, his other question was about the UK point guard. You know, as we said, Jalen Lowe did not play against Bellarmine, so Aberdeen got to start, and he hit four three-pointers,

and nobody even realized it because Cam Williams is throwing him from all over the place. Williams hits eight. Aberding did hit four three-pointers, and Jasper did have seven assists and just one turnover. Those two guys combined filled the point guard spot pretty well, I thought, at least in that game. Yeah, for sure in that game, they passed the test. I still need to see more of doing it against a better opponent. That's where having all these quad four games, it's just so hard to learn.

It's fun. It's fun watching Cam Williams go off. Jasper hitting step back threes and then playing well, but you just can't really get a grade on anything where they're playing these teams. They're not quad three games. They're quad four games. Kentucky hadn't played a quad three. yet. It's either been a marquee game or the bottom of the barrel, but at least in the opportunity

they showed they can do it, and that's a step forward. I worry long-term about Lowe's backup backup back up. It doesn't look like Pope's going to add anyone, but they passed the test last Tuesday, and that's all you can ask of them. The last time we were lied to a live show, that was a strong possibility. They were going to go out and try to find somebody overseas or in the G-League or something to bring up as a backup point guard. I was against it. I just think, man, that's a bad idea to bring somebody in the middle of the season like that. And now there's no rules. I mean, it was reported yesterday, this Trenton Flowers.

Kentucky's not in the mix, but he's considering going back to college. He has played in an NBA game this year, and they're talking about him potentially going back to college. How can that be possible? Baylor added the guy, the draft pick, from a couple years ago. This sport is out of control, but it doesn't look like Kentucky's going to take advantage of it and try to bring in anyone in at this point.

So there's seven and four going into SEC play. before the season started, most people probably had them. Eight and three, maybe nine and two. I had one loss. You had one loss. You had them 10 and 1. Yeah, I did the video and filled out my prediction the day after the Purdue game. I feel like it's a little unfair.

My emotions were riding high. Georgetown hadn't happened yet. So all I knew in that moment was 1-0 against the number one team of the country. But I had St. John's as my only loss. It shows how good I am. That's one of the wins. One of the wins we got. But yes, me and several others, I'd say,

a little below expectations at the stage. So do you feel good, though, about going into conference play now where they are? I won't say I feel good. I mean, they're picked second to win the league. If you were to re-rank the teams right now, I would not have them second, maybe like fourth or fifth. But what we saw of Quaintance and low in the second half of that game, and then Diabate, just getting back to 100% health,

I am a lot more hopeful than I was when I was sitting. in Bridgestone Arena in the first half of that Gonzaga game where I truly wondered if this team could even make the tournament or beat anyone. I have completely flipped on that and found some optimism with the health. But I still worry about things like three-point shooting and staying healthy in a backup point guard. If Cam Williams can shoot like that, that definitely helps them offensively. Definitely helps.

I mean, you got to add shooting. Chandler, he was great start of the year. He was shooting over 50% through like six, seven games. And he's down to... quiet. Since North Carolina, I think he's 20%. He lost his confidence. He'll have a wide open shot and pump fake and step into a contested one

or turn down an open shot to drive into traffic and throw something up. Williams has turned in a corner, but we've got to get back to the confident Chandler that started the season because he'll be a big part of whatever they're going to do, they'll need him in some form of a role, especially as a shooter. Chandler or Noah, one of those two guys needs to get back on track. Because I don't think we can count on Aberdeen hitting four three-pointers a game. And I just think nothing against Noah. Williams Channel, I just think these guys have a little bit of a higher ceiling with everything else they can do.

But, I mean, if no one wants to get hot and keep making threes, they'll find some minutes for him. You got Ryan and Drew, we're at Lexington Caldick for the Holiday Classic. He gave him everything else. Jared Goff, his offensive line, brand new golf carts, got these monitors on them, got the seat in the back. It's top line, state-of-the-art golf cart.

I didn't have a price on it, but you can only Imagine how expensive. Very expensive. All right. Then, Dak Prescott got his offensive line. Mata Glasses valued at $500. Well, that's kind of cheap compared to everybody else. So would you be disappointed if you're in Dallas and all you get is meta glasses

and you're looking around the league and you're getting golf carts, $25,000 watches, off-road vehicles? Is Dak going a little cheap down there in Dallas? Yes. With one of the highest contracts in league history? Yes, that's why I kept waiting for what else did he add to that list of that was it when everybody else was giving them these. You said Patrick Mahomes gave up to like $40,000 worth of gifts,

and Dak Prescott gives the $500 meta glasses. Even Josh Allen, he's got a baby on the way, newly married, he's got a lot going on. Busy missing wide open receivers in the end zone to win games. He got everyone on his line a quarter of a cow and a brand new grill to cook on. Well, that's something kind of different. Probably not really expensive, but something different. Of all those I listed, I won't go through anymore. There's some other ones like Joe Burrow, got dinosaur fossils for his line.

Did you see that one? Would you appreciate a dinosaur fossil? No. Why would I want a dinosaur fossil unless it's worth millions of dollars? So you're in, I'm going to guess you would pick the Pat Mahomes package and everything. Not the Dak Prescott. Well, even who gave the customized golf cart? Oh, that was Jared Gough in Detroit.

See, that's kind of cool. You know, all these guys are golfers in the offseason and stuff. Even my guy, Cam Ward, a rookie for one of the worst teams in the history. for football, although we're getting better down there in Nashville. We're turning a corner. He got his offensive line, each $1,000 airline voucher. Go travel. Take a trip after the season.

I don't know if it was committed to a lot. I could go a long way on Frontier's Spirit. Very true. Louis Vuitton wallet and a Nintendo Switch. So there you go.
