Starting point is 00:00:00 Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter.
Starting point is 00:00:23 Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where SportsSlice comes in. I'm Timbo, and every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments in sports and giving you the real story behind the headlines. And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment, and the stuff nobody gets to hear. Listen to Sports Slice on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:01:00 And for more, follow Timbo Slica Life 12 in the TikTok Podcast Network on TikTok. Hey, what's good, y'all? You're listening to Learn the Hardway with your favorite therapist and host, Kear Games. This space is about black men's experiences, having honest conversations that it's really not safe to have anywhere, but you're having them with a licensed professional who knows what he's doing. How many men carry a suit or armor? It signals to the world that you not to be played with. And just because you have the capability that does not mean that you need to. Listen to learn the hard way on the AHA radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:01:36 I'm Michelle McPhee, and I've been unraveling the strangest criminal alliance I've ever reported on. A Mormon polygamist and an Armenian businessman. Multi-million dollar house, Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, a billion dollar fraud. But how long can this alliance last? Tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me? Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome to Hour 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio, presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now, here's Matt Jones. Welcome back. Hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio, 859-280-2287.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Text machine is 772-7754. Cats on the heels of a very big victory. Tonight is trivia. I still have questions to write. Do you have any... Well, I can't ask you for suggestions because you're playing. But I'm a little behind on them. I'm going to have to spend this afternoon doing it.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Yeah, you said you're going to try to write some during the game last night. I wrote about half of them. But I got so excited I couldn't. Like when it was over, I was planning on, you know, writing them. But then I'm so worked up and I'm like, you know, ready to rock and there you go. Is there a UK basketball question? There is one. There's one.
Starting point is 00:03:51 There's one person writes. Arkansas scored 108 points. Do we have any chance of beating them? Well, I mean, it's not likely because it's down there. But, I mean, they scored 108 and won by 35 last night. They also, the game before, lost by 22. So, you know, I mean, like these teams, I don't think any of the teams in the SEC are really good. And so I think all the teams in the SEC are beatable.
Starting point is 00:04:15 The problem we have is that we play those teams drew on the road. So that makes it harder. Yeah, and I will tip the cap to Cal in Arkansas and having one of Cal's freshman. That A-Cuff dude is the real deal. He's tough. 13 assists and zero turnovers last night. And he just, he might be the SEC player of the year. We know that's part of the problem here.
Starting point is 00:04:33 We weren't getting those dogs. And Cal finally went and got him one at Arkansas. It proves to be one of those elite guys that he was good with. He's great. He's great. He is one of the real deal point guards for them. Look at the nice baby there. Keeping it from being cold. How sweet is that?
Starting point is 00:04:51 All right. So Mario, big question coming in from the text machine. What is Mario? opinion on whether or not he should go with Bob and James down to the Alien show. Now there's some stipulations. He doesn't have to ride with Bob, right? He can drive himself. Do not have to ride with Bob. Okay. I would not put that on anyone. Could go, enjoy it. I think film and then get good content. What do you think, Drew? Does he go to the alien show?
Starting point is 00:05:21 Well, for one, it's not just aliens. It's ghosts, too. Let's put some respect on the event. If I'm Mario, I'm just watching my social media views go up if I make this trip. I mean, the engagement you're going to get on this. What are the impressions? Is that what we're looking at? Think of all the impressions, Mario. Think of all the views. Think of all the, think about, and what if you discover new research into ghosts?
Starting point is 00:05:45 It can open your mind to new things. So are you in or are you out, Mario? Easy! Whoa! I did not expect it in. I expected it. That's shocker. Wow.
Starting point is 00:05:57 Shannon, I expected it no, didn't you? I would like to think Mario would have something better to do than to go to that on a Saturday, but I guess he doesn't. He does not. Well, plus he can go and he can be back by that evening for all his dates. So that's he's bourbon and bubbling that night. Oh, he's got bourbon and bubbles. Yeah, you got to get back for bourbon and bubbles, Mario.
Starting point is 00:06:14 He's got a bourbon and bubble set. So, like, he'll be back. Oh, and think of all the stories he'll have for his four girlfriends. It'll be awesome. I recommend that he finds somebody to go with him, and he mentioned Paul. Bingles Paul may be going with him. Paul is he going to go did he say he would go oh you and bingles paul would be a great duo for uh for the road trip i think we did hear from bob again to be honest yeah too he thinks about it actually bob i'm
Starting point is 00:06:38 going to do something i've never done wow asking him to call in i'd like you to call in just to get some logistics down if he comes on if he calls in we'll take his call shanan and this will never happen again bob this is your one time you are invited to skip the line pass i will give him a skip the line passed 859-2-80-2287. I can't believe I'm doing that. I can't either. 20 college basketball players or former college basketball players have been indicted due to an FBI investigation into rigging of college basketball and Chinese
Starting point is 00:07:14 basketball association games. Shannon includes one person bet $225,000 on a Chinese basketball game. that he had agreed with a player to help throw. That's a red flag right there. Who's getting that kind of money on Chinese basketball? He placed the $225,000 thing on the Chinese basketball game. He was asking for an indictment, right? It's also a name involved, is the name we know.
Starting point is 00:07:42 Antonio Blakeney, who Cal almost got to come here, is caught up in the Chinese $200,000 bet. He's named in all of this. Remember, he committed to Louisville. We wanted him bad. And then he ended up at LSU, I think with Ben Simmons. And he would play well with us against us, didn't he? Yeah, I think he only played a year.
Starting point is 00:07:58 Went to the Bulls for a year or two. But he's caught up in this, specifically the $200,000 Chinese bet. Wow. So Antonio Blakeney is one of them. That was almost a cat. Almost all the schools are small that are part of it. It's basically the LSU and St. Johns are the only power conference teams that had a player involved. And in the LSU one, which is Blakeney, they say he did that,
Starting point is 00:08:24 not at LSU, but while he was in the Chinese Basketball Association. Well, I think that was one of the concerns when all the sports betting happened that this was going to. But, I mean, this was all, this is all, some of this was a while back. So you think it's not going on now? I don't know why people, I don't know why people act like this change. Kentucky got banned from college basketball in the 40s for this. Yep. Right?
Starting point is 00:08:52 I mean, this has been going on forever. I would just argue it's now easier to catch. That's why we know about these because they're doing it on apps that are being monitored and not under the table. Now they're just stupider about it. But the idea that this has not been happening, I mean, people have been throwing boxing matches since the Civil War. Right? Like, I mean, this has been going on forever. So there's this notion of, well, in the last four years, gambling's,
Starting point is 00:09:22 legal, this is why this is happening. No, this is why they're being caught. This has always happened. There's systems in place. The moment an irregular bet pops up, a red flag goes off on their end, and they're like, why would someone bet $200,000 on Chinese basketball? Let's look into this. It's always weird to me that our fan base is the one that I hear say,
Starting point is 00:09:44 this is what happens when you legalize gambling. Yep. I mean, we literally were banned from the sport. It's been going on. I mean, C-C-N-Y and Kentucky were in the gambling scale, right? Yep, yep, yep. The Fidlin 5, those guys got banned from basketball. Was that in 51?
Starting point is 00:10:06 48, 49, that team. Well, 48 we won, so it was the 49 team that was banned from basketball. Must have been, yeah. Yeah, and the 48 team was also the Olympic team. That's right. Which is another thing that's crazy. That part of Kentucky history is wild. We had a team that won the national championship,
Starting point is 00:10:22 then represented the United States in the Olympics, the team. Yes. And then got banned from college basketball. Then they all became the Indianapolis Olympians, right? They all went with one professional team. But, I mean, that's a wild part of, I mean, if you're not a, like, hardcore Kentucky history fan, you'd hear that and go, what?
Starting point is 00:10:42 Why couldn't we have the blog back then? Or why couldn't they be having all that fun now? Can you imagine if they picked this Kentucky? basketball team to be the Olympic team? I think we would struggle in the Olympics just for the record. I think these guys would have a hard time against Yokic and Yonis. But that would that happened. That would be wild.
Starting point is 00:11:01 I can't even wrap my head around a Kentucky team that I love, then getting the privilege to also represent America. I think they joined some. There were a few others. But there was, back then they had amateur professional basketball, basically. You could go play after college for amateur teams. used to be like athletes in action, and I think it was like Marathon Oil had a team. I think the team was Phillips something Sixers, 66ers.
Starting point is 00:11:29 The gas stations would, did you, I don't think Mario, did you know gas stations would sponsor basketball teams? So it would be literally like Marathon Oil, Philip 66, and I believe when we went to the Olympics, they combined us with like Marathon Oil. I think there was the Phillips team we combined. It was Phillips 66, and we became the Olympic team. And it's so weird to think like, you know, Kentucky would combine with Sonic. They would become the Olympic team.
Starting point is 00:11:59 All right, now take your hat off for the national anthem as Kentucky and Clark's Pump and Shop parade around with the American flag. I'm for it. Let's do it. Why not? Imagine the opening ceremonies at the next Olympics? Yeah, and all the fresh coffee you'd get and sandwiches. We could sing Pump and Shop after the National Anthem.
Starting point is 00:12:17 Yeah, I mean, if you ever want to have fun. Like, just want to laugh. Go back and look at the basketball teams and football teams that college sports teams played in, like, the early 1900s. Because they literally played businesses. Played the Lexington YMCA. Yeah, they would play the YMCA had a team. Yep.
Starting point is 00:12:38 You know? We played Nike. Isn't that a conflict of interest? I mean, they sponsor our team. But, I mean, there are teams that literally would play just businesses. Yeah. It would be like, you know, all. Auburn versus McDonald's in the best of seventh series.
Starting point is 00:12:53 I just think we need to do more than that. I think it's entertainment. I have the list up now. Lots of random countries, too. Some of these teams, what is high five America? We gave up 84 points to high five America in 1999. We lost to a team of people who only high-fived each other. The armory, didn't the armory have a team?
Starting point is 00:13:12 Yes, the armory always had it. Yeah. Yeah. Well, it's a great history. Who's up next? All right, so we got Bob and Jamestown. Speaking of great history, Bob, all right, can Mario get in? Yeah, I've got two tickets, two reservations.
Starting point is 00:13:29 The buddy of mine begged out. Okay, but could you get a third one for Paul? Well, I don't know about that. Well, you work on it with your people because your buddy, so his buddy begged out, Mario, so it's just you and Bob. But we'll get Paul one, too. Bob will work on it. and explain to me quickly.
Starting point is 00:13:50 How many people are expected to be at this thing? I don't know. I call, you know, go through that Bellbrook Library, and that's where it made their reservations. And I did it like two weeks ago. Anyway, it starts at 11 o'clock. So we'd need to leave at 7 o'clock. Well, he's not going to go with you.
Starting point is 00:14:13 He's going to meet you there, okay? Oh, well, whatever. He's going to meet you there. because he has to come back. Okay. He's got people, so he'll meet you there. Okay. But it's at 11 o'clock.
Starting point is 00:14:26 It's across the street. The church across the street from the Belberg Library. You just go up straight up 75, straight up 75. The church across street from the Belberg Library. Get off 675, get off at the Wilmington exit. He'll get off to Wilmington. Okay. And then it's left on 725, Franklin Street.
Starting point is 00:14:46 He'll turn left on Franklin Street. Okay, but my question for you, Bob, is what is going to happen at this thing? What is going to happen? Yes. Yeah, well, this Ray Samansky is a 40-year retired employee of Wright Patterson. He's going to give a public speech about ghosts, secrets, aliens, all this stuff. And you think we're going to learn something about it?
Starting point is 00:15:14 Well, I mean, he gave one of these, it's actually kind of a book tour, too. He's selling, he's written three books on it. There we go. There's the hook. So it's not just he's like using it to at the library across the street from the church that he's using it to break news. He's trying to sell books. Well, yeah, that's why it's free.
Starting point is 00:15:37 Anyway. Oh, it's free. Okay. No, the books are. You've got like everything I've read on the website. Okay. All right. Well, we're looking forward to it.
Starting point is 00:15:50 It should be a good event for you and Maria. I hope you'll be nice to him, Bob. This is your chance you're going to meet the public here. He's going to be profiling. He's going to be profiling. Yeah. What are you going to wear, Bob? Because you don't usually dress very well.
Starting point is 00:16:09 Well, it's comfortable clothing. But you might want to wear clothes. I mean, like, this is going to go, like you're going to be on the Internet. You might want to wear like a nice outfit. Oh, okay. Well, I can wear my. Jerry Spence, Western-fringed leather jacket and a governor-presidency cowboy hat. I think that's exactly what you need to wear.
Starting point is 00:16:34 A pair of ostrich boots. This is getting better than best of. I think you need to wear that. Ostrich boots, a cowboy hat. Bob, I think this is going to be a great event. So thank you for being kind to Mario. And he and Paul will see you in Belbrook. off Franklin Street.
Starting point is 00:16:53 Okay. Tell him leave about seven. You want to get there about, you know, earlier the better to get a good seat. I think he'll get a good seat. And just tell him that Robert coming is the reservation. Robert coming is who you need to call. Yep.
Starting point is 00:17:08 You tell him you're coming. Yep. Yep. All right. Thank you very much. We're all saving for something, but what if you could save for something? That's the number four.
Starting point is 00:17:17 Okay. You could get as high as 4.0 APY on balances up to $25,000. It's pretty good. Pretty good. This basketball season, let the official credit union in the University of Kentucky
Starting point is 00:17:28 help you with some bigger savings. Open a high yield savings account starting at 4% APY. It's UK federal credit union. We're not just for some. We're for all you at Kentucky. APY is annual percentage yield minimum $1,000 sign the high yield savings account.
Starting point is 00:17:42 Membership of dollars you're required, inspired, or insured by NCUA. We'll take a break and be right back. Mario looks so excited. It's KSR. Last night, a blown call changed the game. This morning, the internet lost its mind.
Starting point is 00:17:54 Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where SportsSlice comes in. I'm Timbo. Starting point is 00:18:53 with so many incredible guests. I'm talking. Tripp Fontaine, Ryan Clark. Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing. And we're still chasing it. And we don't know when we've done enough.
Starting point is 00:19:09 Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses. Steve Burns, Dustin Ross. Because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth. Are you a good person because you're afraid? Because that's two different intentions, bro. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:19:23 And that's two different levels of trust. I want you to just really be a good person. Starting point is 00:19:42 Jacob Kingston grew up in an isolated polygamous sect. We were God's chosen kingdom on earth. He felt destined for greatness. So when a swaggering Armenian businessman catapults Jacob into an extraordinary world, he doesn't look back. Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, meeting the president of Turkey. I'm Michelle McPhee, and this is one of the most shocking criminal conspiracies I've ever come across. When Jacob met Levin this went to a billion dollar fraud. But with two kings from entirely different worlds, just how long can their empire survive?
Starting point is 00:20:21 The largest tax investigation in American history. You need to tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me? Jacob told Levan, you're ruining my life. Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Life throws hurdles big and small. The question is, how do you conquer them? On Hurtle with Emily Abadi, we sit down with the most inspiring women in sports and wellness.
Starting point is 00:20:51 professional athletes, coaches, and Olympic champions to talk about the challenges that shaped them and the mindset that keeps them going. From the WNBA standout Kate Martin and rising hockey star Layla Edwards. If a boy can do it, I don't see why a girl can't. Like, I've never understood that. Like, it didn't make sense in my brain. It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you, but don't ever feel like you don't feel on.
Starting point is 00:21:12 Don't let that be the reason you don't do it. An Olympic champs Gabby Thomas and Katie Ledecki. The ability to show a gold medal to someone and have their face light. up and smile. That means the world to me. And that's what motivates me to win more gold medals. At our level, at this scale, like being able to fail in front of the entire world. Like, I can do anything. I can, like, I can do anything. Because resilience isn't just about winning. It's about showing up, even when it's hard. Listen to Hurtle with Emily Abadi on the IHeart Radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's
Starting point is 00:21:50 Sports. Welcome back, Techies Sports Radio. I think we learned Bob's last name, which I didn't know. He said it, and I didn't catch that. I didn't make the connection. I did not know that his last name was Robert Cumming. He revealed it. Docks himself.
Starting point is 00:22:07 No longer Bob in Jamestown. Can we just call it Robert Cummings now when he calls that? I'll just say Robert Cummings is on line one. Line one. Wow. We got some folks here from Taylor'sville, which is nice. I see Taylor'sville in the house. it should be you know
Starting point is 00:22:23 I like what's the last time you've been to Taylor'sville I don't know if I've ever been you go past the exit on 64 I don't know if I've ever been It's right next door for me right up there once I went to a little mom and pop shop It was very nice It was right before when I was doing my book I think I wrote what county is it
Starting point is 00:22:38 Spencer County It's exactly right Spencer County Taylor'sville 859-280 2287 what person writes Matt Predict everyone on the show predict the amount of wins regular season and postseason combined. Okay, so we are 11 and 6 with 14 games to go.
Starting point is 00:23:02 You got the SEC tournament and the NCAA. So I'll start with you, Shannon. How many wins when this is all said and done? We have 11 at this moment. I'm going to say they get into the tournament. So I'm going to go 22. Oh, 22. Wow.
Starting point is 00:23:18 Yeah. How many? 22. So I think they got, what, seven more here that would get me to 18. I think they win a couple in the SEC and maybe win one or two in the NCAA tournament. 22 is very optimistic, all right? What about you, Drew? I'll say they get seven more in the regular season, win one in Nashville, which makes me want to vomit,
Starting point is 00:23:43 and win one in the big tournament they get in. So they get 20. Yeah. And they win a game in the tournament? Actually, no, yeah, I'll say they get one. Okay. I'll be optimistic. All right, Ryan.
Starting point is 00:23:55 I'm going to be just a little more optimistic in Drew. That's exactly what I was going to say. 18 wins during the regular season. You win the Wednesday night game in the SEC tournament. You win the playing game in Dayton, but you also win a first round game in the NCAA tournament. So what is all that at? So that's one more than me. Yeah, because I didn't have a play in.
Starting point is 00:24:11 Yeah, I probably need to reevaluate mine. I've got them in the sweet 16. I'm just saying that out loud. I'm like, wait a minute. Maybe I could say 22, but they win more. one more in the regular season, not in the NCAA. So you're going 21? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:24 You're going 20, and Drew Shannon's going 22. I think they're going to win six more in the regular season, which gets it to 17. But I think we win two in Nashville, which gets just to 19. Then we win in Dayton in the play-in, and so we end up with 20. And then losing the first round of the NCAA. That's where I am right now. Yeah. So I'm going to say 20.
Starting point is 00:24:48 I'm going to go with Drew. So Drew and I have 20, Ryan 21, Shannon, 22. It's been fascinating to watch Shannon's turn into Mr. Optimus this year on both football and basketball. But I will note, I don't know if this was said before I got here. Shannon said we would win on the last second shot. He did. Yeah, I did. I called that.
Starting point is 00:25:06 So he called that exactly. Yeah. It's almost like I know what I'm talking about. And what's the same last night? Pat Bradley in the pregame said Kentucky would have a shot at the buzzer to win and miss it. Oh, he almost got it right, too. And in the program, Peter Burns, shout out KSR on the SEC Network. Did you hear that?
Starting point is 00:25:25 I heard about it, yeah. He said Matt Jones and KSR going to be upset about that. Yes, they did. Well, thank you, Peter Burns. I appreciate it. Who's up next? Steve. Steve, go ahead, Steve.
Starting point is 00:25:35 Hey, guys, I'm going to follow up with what a previous caller said about Jasper Johnson starting in the three-guard lineup. Some guys are better as starters. Some guys are better coming off the bench. And Colin, in that three-guard offense, he can sub for any of those three guys. And Matt, you brought up a good point, energy in first half versus second half. If we come out in the first half at that three-quarter court press,
Starting point is 00:26:01 this team thrives on transition baskets. So that kind of gets the juices flowing. I agree with you. I heard the announcer say Kentucky's good in transition when they can get layups. Sir, I would argue probably every team is, right? Like, I mean, any team that gets layups in transition should be pretty good. But we need to do it, and I'm with you. For me, it's an energy thing to start the game.
Starting point is 00:26:23 If you go back and watch the first few minutes of that game, we look like we were asleep. That's just the way it got. Absolutely. Hey, Matt. And you also, earlier in the week, I told you, I thought Malachi was one of the two most important guys to be on the floor. Do you agree with me now? Good deal, man. I appreciate the call.
Starting point is 00:26:44 Yeah, I don't know. I mean, I think he certainly needs to be on the court a lot. I don't know about most important. I mean, let me give a shout out to a couple other guys. O-Way has scored at least 20 points in all four SEC games, first Kentucky player since Jody Meeks to do that. No Cal player ever did that, which is kind of amazing. Gladdy woke up because that's the O'A we saw last year
Starting point is 00:27:06 and worried if we'd see him again with the way he started this season. Maybe just seeing the SEC logo on the other team, whatever it was. I'm glad to have him back. And then I thought Aberdeen was really good in the second half. After a really poor first half, I thought he really found his groove, Ryan, in the second half and played really well. As we said earlier, you know, you couldn't take him off the floor. You know, Jasper didn't play because the not being reflection on Jasper. It was reflection on Aberdeen how good he was playing.
Starting point is 00:27:30 You couldn't take him off the floor. And about O.A, you know, that last play, that's where I want the ball in his hand. You know, he hit the last second shot against Oklahoma twice last year. He missed the free throw, but I loved his drive to the basketball right there. I mean, he's got to make that free throw, but I love the fact he just kind of. barreled everybody over and did what he was supposed to do. Well, earlier in the year, when they're not even playing teams that are that good, and they're just sitting around and look at each other,
Starting point is 00:27:55 it's kind of like when we're like poking away. Like, will you just go do that thing you do or you drive and finish? And he wasn't doing it as much. But then last night as we saw when they needed it, he knows how to go get it. He will have to shoot better than six from ten at the foul line, though. Shannon was the Chandler lob pass on the fast break, the worst pass in basketball history? Yes. I'm like, what was that?
Starting point is 00:28:14 Can we get somebody else? out of his hand. Anybody else to throw the ball in at him? What was he trying to do? I made a note when he did that after I got done cussing that was like, if Kentucky doesn't win this game, remember this as a turning point and a wasted opportunity because they had momentum, a two-on-one. It was tied, I think.
Starting point is 00:28:31 We had a small deficit, but they just called back to like five, and you have something, and he just threw that into the stands, which should have been an easy breakaway. But he redeemed himself. He did redeem himself. What he probably should have done there is just stopped and shot the three. Yeah. Because the defender was just shading Oway. Like he was just, and I actually think he played it pretty well.
Starting point is 00:28:51 I think he was like, all right, shoot this three, and then he still tried to force the lob. Even if that defender wasn't there, that pass was not getting to Oway. It was not a good pass. No, it had to slip out of his hands, man. That couldn't have made that bad a pass. I did like Chandler trying to, like, defend it. He had a move like, well, if you just.
Starting point is 00:29:07 Yeah, he's like, you can get kind of right. You know, if you just jumped like a superhero and caught it, then you could have flown through. the air. But if they had lost, that would have been a huge missed opportunity because they had LSU backpedaling on their hills with a little bit of run going and then just wasted that trip. Yeah, the one impressive about that second half is LSU did hit some shots. Oh, they did. It's not like they just completely wilted at. They hit shots down the stretch.
Starting point is 00:29:30 They filled it to five, and they would hit a big three or something to jack it back up to eight. Yeah, 59-280, 20287. We'll take a break. Be right back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio. T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney. Call T. T. He'll make them pay. Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. Welcome back, Tucky Sports Radio, 859-2-80-2287. Text machine is 772-744. Here's a little story that just broke.
Starting point is 00:29:59 Former U.S. Senator is being alleged in a lawsuit that she destroyed her 14-year marriage by having an affair with a member of her security detail while she was a member of the Senate. her name's Chris Kirsten Cinema, according to a lawsuit. In the lawsuit, the person alleges that cinema is one of four senators in 2023 who were having active relationships with their security details. Didn't know that was a thing. Wow. Four seems like, I mean, one's a lot.
Starting point is 00:30:34 I mean, four out of 100, that's one out of every 25. So if you're elected Senate, you've got a one out of 25 chance, at least according to this lawsuit, of being with your security detail. Protecting so. Or if you're hired a security detail, you have a 4% chance of sleeping with a senator. There you go. But, okay, I guess I could see how it happens, though. You spend a lot of time with them. A lot of trust.
Starting point is 00:31:03 They're on the road with you. Yes. If you're a senator, presumably you're away from home. quite a bit. Yes. The security detail is there. You think they start talking and they're like, I'm here to serve you,
Starting point is 00:31:15 madam or sir. And they're like, yes. Yeah, you are. And then love sprouts. It feels like it could be a hallmark movie. What's a hallmark movie?
Starting point is 00:31:26 Are you watching? I don't know. But one where senators date their security details. Guard me. Wasn't that? The Nashville mayor did this or someone in Tennessee did this. No way to
Starting point is 00:31:38 minute. I'll tell you where I, you may be right about that. I'll tell you where I saw it was on VEP. On VEP, the vice president's daughter fell in love with the secret service officer that was with her in her life. Before that, let me tell you about Whitney Houston and Kevin Kosser. It all starts from the bodyguard. Thank you, sir. Yes, the bodyguard, they fell in love. They did. But back to our government. Four is too many. I mean, you can have one and we'll all judge it, but four is too many. Only one is named. Okay.
Starting point is 00:32:13 So you know that the other senators, Shannon, have been like. Shaking in their boots right now. Who's the others? Especially if you're the guilty one. They're like Mitch? And I thought most of them were like 85 years old. Mitch is not the one. I'm going to say it's probably not me.
Starting point is 00:32:30 Poor security guard. Do you imagine you're his security guard? He's just doing his job. Oh, Mitch one time came into the old TV studio I was in. His security get, now when he was head of the Senate, his security would get there like four hours early and scope of the one. And like candles. That's good.
Starting point is 00:33:02 I'm sorry. That was ridiculous. Freebird. I want somebody to create that picture at the Hay Kentucky Sun. A little rose petals. Trail of rose petals to his desk. There's Mitch. All right, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:33:17 Close the blinds. Go ahead, Shannon. Freebird. Freebird, go ahead. You're all cracking me up. What a great show. Hey, listen, I was watching the game last night down at White House, Tennessee, with the old buddy basketball coach at Mercer County.
Starting point is 00:33:35 His name's Nelson Gundam. So watching the game with a basketball coach, man, you've got to hear X's and O's. and all kinds of stuff, but it was fantastic. And so I'm going to say, we're going to bring an A game down to that puky orange people down there on Saturday. And I still think O'O.A. got that shot off, man. Y'all talk about that some more? Yeah, I think he didn't because we just got the wrong angle.
Starting point is 00:33:59 When you got the angle where you could see, it was the Ole Miss Auburn game again. Because when you got the angle where you were behind him and you could see the light, it looked like the light. Still, it's very, very close. but look, I think the clock was just behind on the thing. So I don't know why the SEC Network waited so long to show that last angle because the rest, the officials made the call relatively quickly,
Starting point is 00:34:23 which says to me they had that angle, and for whatever reason they just weren't showing it on the game. So even though I wish that it would count it. Go ahead. Maybe if it was a camera view, but I thought I could have sworn the shot clocks look different from the bottom of the other team. TV is the one they showed to the left of the TV is not the bottom of the TV is not the same one as the official one.
Starting point is 00:34:47 It is, appreciate the call. We talked, they talked about this in the Auburn, I guess, A&M game, not Ole Miss. That they are not the same. It's like a millisecond off. And you say that's now come up twice in games in the SEC this year. You're right. The first four times they showed it, they showed it from the side. I was sure it was in.
Starting point is 00:35:06 I was sure it was in. I thought for sure you got it off. But then they showed it from behind from the other end of the other end zone. And you can tell it was. It is interesting how angles change viewpoints so much. You know what I mean? Like it's interesting how, and I guess whichever one's right is whichever one gives you the answer that you want. As far as beating Tennessee, we got a Tennessee fan in here sitting over there right now.
Starting point is 00:35:34 He can't hear us. But we have a shot. They're not as good as they usually are. And we've been pretty good down there. Amos turned a corner a little bit here lately. He's looking tough, and they're, carny. They're big guys a problem. I had a fun moment last night.
Starting point is 00:35:50 I unfortunately know lots of Tennessee fans in my life, and one of them is a season ticket holder in Knoxville. And the whole first half, he's saying, yeah, bring these kitty cats Saturday. These are ones I want to play. He texted me after the game, wait, y'all won, did not know about the comeback. So it's like, yeah, keep that same energy. We found a little something. We're head to Knoxville soon.
Starting point is 00:36:06 We'll see you then. You were right about the Nashville mayor. Nashville mayor. See? With their security detail guy? I feel like the amount of sex scandals in Washington that don't come out has got to be like a bejillion. I think they all agree. No, okay, I'm going to sound like a serious.
Starting point is 00:36:32 I genuinely think this is true. I think they all agree Republicans and Democrats. If we start out in each other on this stuff, we're all done. Right? Yeah. So we will call each other hateful, communist, traitor, whatever, but do not talk about our side pieces because we all have them. Do you think that's possible that Shannon, that's what they say?
Starting point is 00:36:58 Is Shannon still with us? I was answering a call. Okay. It's true. Do you think that's possible that they all just have an agreement? We don't talk about that. Now that I've learned that already four confirmed. Just with security.
Starting point is 00:37:11 Wouldn't shock me if they're just straight up having parties where you just show up and put your name. Put your name in a hat. I don't know if I should say this. Should I mention the thing that used to be talked about at the Hay Kentucky studios? The allegation. Oh, yeah, yeah, you should because I don't know it. Okay. So there was, again, one-0 vote.
Starting point is 00:37:33 I'm not sure. I'm in no way saying this is true. All right, so let me be very clear. I'm not saying this is true. I'm saying this is what people say. That's what the streets say. People say that there is a house in eastern Kentucky that is known as the house or was known for a long time as the house
Starting point is 00:37:57 where the politicians played. You're shaking your head, right, right? What came out in that documentary on, Well, the attorney that went on the run to Mexico. Yes, it did. Eric C. Con. Eric C. Con. They did talk about that.
Starting point is 00:38:11 But that, like, very prominent people, especially very prominent people in government in Kentucky in, like, the late 90s to mid-2000s. So, like, 95 to 2010. They would all go to Ashland, Kentucky. Was the allegation. There was a very nice house there that they would all, like, have, I mean, I know lunch is happening, but sex parties, like in Ashland.
Starting point is 00:38:38 And I remember thinking it was the funniest thing I'd ever heard. The idea that all these politicians got in their car, drove to Ashland, went to this house. Got all dressed up. Republican and Democrat all got naked and were like in Ashland running around. I thought that was the funniest thing I'd ever heard. And then more and more people would come up to us and say, no, there is an Ashland politician. sex house. God, if I'm running against that guy, that's going to be in my TV ads.
Starting point is 00:39:09 No, no, no. It wasn't the guy. It was like 30. Right. It was like the entire Kentucky House of Representatives and Senate. And you may remember in the 90s there was a group of like people in the house and Senate who got, who hired Hooters waitresses and went to Myrtle Beach with state money. Do you remember this?
Starting point is 00:39:30 I don't, but that does not surprise me. Does nobody remember this? I don't remember that one specific. That sounds like something that I want. Forget the Epstein list. I want this list. That was younger, but I've wondered about the Ashland House for a long time. And do we think it's true?
Starting point is 00:39:44 How about I put out a Twitter poll? Mario goes to the Ashland House. I've heard it's closed. I heard that people, the words started leaking about the Ashland House that they closed it. But you heard this. Yeah, in the Eric C.Con documentary, they had, you know, cheese grater guy was on there talking about it, but they were afraid to mention a lot of minute details because I think they wanted it to survive.
Starting point is 00:40:03 The allegation was that Eric C. Con was part of the parties. Yeah, big-time part of the parties. Big-time. Like was a regular. Yeah. How much do you know about these, Ron? I just watched the... Mr. Speak Easy.
Starting point is 00:40:14 Yeah. Were you at the parties? This feels like the kind of thing you would show up at. If I got invited, I would probably go just for show prep. You know, just to be prepared for when it comes up on the show. So if you heard there was an Eric C. Con sex party, you would go. If I got invited, I'd probably... Let's just go check this out.
Starting point is 00:40:31 For educational purposes, right? Yeah. I'm sure your girlfriend with you. See your girlfriend, maybe that's why she didn't want to come to tribute. Maybe that's it. You heard Eric C. Con's going to be here. Well, is he still in jail?
Starting point is 00:40:42 What happened to him? I hope so. He should be. I think he's still in jail. Anyway, I don't know how, how did I get off on you? Oh, Kirsten Cinema and her thing. Anyway, if anybody knows about the Ashland thing,
Starting point is 00:40:56 I would love, you want to talk about a text machine detail I would enjoy reading through the day. Or if you know the other three senators that weren't named. either one of those would be things that I would very much enjoy. That's not what I thought we were going to be doing. On Malachi Marino Day. The Malachi miracle. But it came up.
Starting point is 00:41:14 Let's say you own a house and things happen and you need to clean it up. What are you going to do? They'll make it like your party never even happened, Drew. They didn't make some of these parties not happen. The one choice and clean up and restoration, whether it's mold, fire, storm, or congressman. and we've got a serve pro for that. Starting point is 00:45:10 Like, I've never understood that. Like, it didn't make sense in my brain. It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you, but don't ever feel like you don't feel like you don't feel on. Don't let that be the reason you don't do it. Welcome back, Tucky Sports Radio. The text machine is made for questions like we just had. First of all, I didn't know the Nashville mayor would hook up with her security guard in the cemetery, and she got caught because a cemetery camera caught her.
Starting point is 00:46:11 Is that correct? I don't know. That's a little creepy. A lot of people are saying that's true. That's how she got caught. Sounds right. Gerald Ford's daughter married her secret service agent. Really?
Starting point is 00:46:24 They got married. How about that? This seems pretty more common than I thought it would be. John and Kate plus eight apparently split up because Kate had an affair with her bodyguard. Like you said, you spend a lot of time together, you travel together, go to hotels together. One person writes, Matt, the Ashton story is 100% fact. I know several stories that come from that place. It's the same thing that's going on right now in Letcher County.
Starting point is 00:46:53 Oh, it's moved. What's happening in Letcher County? It's moved to Letcher County? You get my map out and start putting pins. in all these cities. That's Whitesburg. It's about to move again now that they know about it. Wow. You never know. One person writes, Matt, the back room in the old Frankfurt restaurant, Flins, was known as the place legislators would bring their significant others. It had a curtain door, and if you look through the curtain, you could see slot machines and the senator's mistresses.
Starting point is 00:47:23 Sounds like a movie. The back room at Flins. It feels like Flynn's is the kind of name of a place that I could see it happening. And slot machines. Slot machines. Historical gaming. Yeah, historical. Yeah, they're not really slot machines.
Starting point is 00:47:39 Historical gaming machines. We're not allowed to call them that, remember? That's where they got the name historical gaming. Yeah. We can't put one in here and call it a slot machine, but it could be in the back room. But in Flins. So if there is a place like that in Ashland, if there's a place Flins in Frankfurt, the police know about it. Oh, they look the other way.
Starting point is 00:47:59 It's like cockfighting. Right? Just don't act like it's happening. So now they're doing that and letcher county. Well, it gets you saying that. I'm just reading you the text message. Don't put your name on. They could be the guard involved.
Starting point is 00:48:09 Yes. Who's next? Let's go to Jim. Jim. Go ahead, Jim. Hey, Phil. Hey, I called in the other day. I think it was after the Missouri game, and I was concerned with the lack of foul,
Starting point is 00:48:23 lack of assist. Don't remember that discussion. But anyway, you haven't mentioned that Marino played with four fouls for quite a while last night. Yes, he did. He had to let a couple of guys go, a couple of baskets go. He could have fouled out right there. So a little maturity on his part. Well, I agree.
Starting point is 00:48:43 Yes, he played with four fouls for seven or eight minutes, didn't foul, played decent defense while not fouling. So I'm with you. I appreciate the call. That was part of what made him so good. Malachi did so much other than hit the last second. shot last night and you know he did it against Mississippi State that second half he almost forwarded with a triple double he's a guy that we keep saying jaden quaint's maybe the only NBA player on the team malachi may be developing into an NBA player yeah who's up next
Starting point is 00:49:08 let's go to jay jay go ahead jay hey guys um glad we got the win last night this year for some reason i'm going to have an officer before it's over or something happened because one minute i'm ready to throw up. Next minute I'm excited. The next minute, I just can't believe it and walk out. But it's unbelievable team. The thing I wanted to tell you about, too, is I went to public yesterday and got that broil, you called it.
Starting point is 00:49:40 But the guy there said it's really a, it's esteemed. And they got three different seasonings. I had to put all three in mine. And it was one of the best I ever eat. Look at that. There you go. The public seafood broil. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:49:56 There you go. Well, now, you, uh, well done. I appreciate the call. Public's getting all kinds of good, uh, good recommendations. I mean, it's exciting. It's going to be in my backyard. What do you can buy when you get over there? It's like when you go grocery shopping, what are you, what are you reaching for?
Starting point is 00:50:10 Uh, your regular stuff. Paprika. Paprika. Paprika. You go through a lot of paprika, okay. Time. Big on paprika. Coomrick.
Starting point is 00:50:18 Bailey. Tumric. Dude. I think you combined a couple different spots. No, it's a, that's a, I put together kale. Oh, it's a mix. It's kale and turmeric. Okay.
Starting point is 00:50:30 Oh, my bad. They're not that advanced. We call it, listen, if you, when you get into the advanced cooking classes, you'll understand. Draft Kings, you might promo code KSR, bet five, get $300 in bonus bets. Promote KSR with Draft Kings. Game of the day to day. There's not a lot of choices, so I'm going to go, because, you know,
Starting point is 00:50:48 most people are focused on trivia tonight here at the bar. But during trivia tonight, we'll be showing. Florida and Kentucky women. The Kentucky women are playing at home against Florida. Kentucky is 16 and 2 and number 7 in the country. Who you got, right? I'm picking the cats for sure. At home, coming off a couple big wins in the conference, definitely go with the U.K.
Starting point is 00:51:12 Florida's 12 and 7, Drew, if you want to, before you make your pick. Already do that, Matt. I know ball. I like the cats here. We already took our loss. We weren't supposed to have. We're still in great shape. Let that one get away.
Starting point is 00:51:22 nothing but winning the rest of the way. Yeah, by the way, Florida is, uh, it looks like they have yet to win a conference game. They're 0 and 4 so far in the conference. Who you got, Chin. Yeah, they're about to be 0.5. Give me Kentucky. They win. Yep.
Starting point is 00:51:34 That game is, uh, it's here. Yeah, 7 o'clock. So if you want to go, if you're going to the game, you can come here before. Or you can come watch it as part of the trivia negotiations. We were so cool that the, Drew mentioned the UK women's Twitter account, put the Tony Morgan's last second shot and Malachi's last second shot, kind of back to back, both in the same arena, both just a couple weeks apart. It was awesome.
Starting point is 00:51:56 I did like, I thought Kenny Brooks' celebration was better than Pope's. Kenny's little, you know, excitement. Mark was kind of stoic for getting such a big victory. You think he was waiting to see if they were going to make it official, like he was afraid to celebrate? He gave up. After they had just taken another one away? Yeah. But that one, I wasn't worried.
Starting point is 00:52:12 I felt good about it. It seemed like it went in in real time and everything was going. On the other end, LSU fans must hate us right now. Absolutely hate us. Baseball team goes there early in the season. and let's walk off a home run game one. Let's just keep this going. The baseball team plays there?
Starting point is 00:52:26 Yep. Boy, I might like to go to that. Because isn't that the place you go on? It's in March. It's one of the first series they play. Oh, well. And we'll be on our basketball run. That's true we won't be able to go.
Starting point is 00:52:38 And football goes there. Let's just beat them there in football too. Let's just keep this going. Football goes there this year. Yeah. That's right. They go there next year. Next year.
Starting point is 00:52:47 Yeah. Doesn't matter. Let's keep beat them. All right. Big win for the cats. Tomorrow we are at Wild Eggs. Where is it? Take Creek, off Sarend Drive.
Starting point is 00:52:53 Off Saren Drive, wild eggs. Come out, you can eat food. We'll be inside, I assume. Yes. And should be a lot of fun. We'll see you later. This has been Kentucky Sports Radio. Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
