Starting point is 00:03:12 We've got, there is now pizza here, if people want it from, what is that, from Little Seasers? Yep. Pizza, pizza. Yeah, it's exactly right. 859-2-80-2287. they are starting to come in. We now have five different predictions in, and they are all over the board, Brian.
Starting point is 00:03:29 This board is going to be amazing looking. Well, it's tough. You know, they're trying to read the weather maps, and it changes on an hourly basis. So you've got to make a prediction now before the snow starts this time tomorrow. That's right. Like I said, we have five of the 11.
Starting point is 00:03:42 I did, I might have put this up to popular vote. I did get asked. Cantori says that he is on T-E-E-E-Lead. live until three this afternoon. He asked for an extension to get there. Now, what do we do here? Rules or rules? Yeah. I mean, do we have him participate, but he can't get the charity money? Or do we? Because I don't want to, you know, things will change over the next three and a half hours. I don't want to, maybe we have him participate, but if he wins, we still get, we give it for the charity to the second. I think I like that. I know he's big time, but still.
Starting point is 00:04:23 rules or rules. So I think that's the fair way to do it. But he's also, I understand if he's on television, he's on television, and he's, you know, other people are on television. He was interviewing the mayor, and I think he's interviewing the governor, so he is probably not immediately thinking about the weather models in Louisville right now. Who else is on television, everyone else in this contest. I watched some of them last night. They do get commercial breaks.
Starting point is 00:04:44 That's a very good point. Very good point. He is our five-star point guard, and sometimes your five-star point guard to get a little extra special treatment over your three-star point guards. They get to bend the rules a little. It would have been the rules a little bit. They get to eat at Jeff Rubies and three-star guys eating at Druthers. So I think maybe we got to slide the rules a little bit. I'd rather hear of druthers.
Starting point is 00:04:59 What are you talking about? Just for the record, there have been in Lexington and in Louisville, just in the guess so far, a difference of five inches. Wow. And in Lexington, the smallest to the biggest is seven and a half inches. Wow. So there are huge discrepancies, which means. Nobody knows what they're talking about. Or somebody's going to look really good.
Starting point is 00:05:25 That's right. Yeah. Well, here's what I don't understand. Like, presumably they all have access to the same equipment. So you would think that you would be able to, based on what you see on your Doppler. But it also might show you, like, how when a big event's coming, that, like, if you only watch one person, you might not be getting exactly what's going to happen. Because we're seeing huge discrepancies amongst people who, like you say, presumably have access to the same information. Somebody's going to be way off then, according to these.
Starting point is 00:05:53 numbers if somebody's seven inches difference we'll see well speaking of the access i'm wondering like you're chris bailey jim caldwell just left wk yt can you like block him out of this is it changes password like he's not allowed to get him into the doppler does he have his own doppler at home what's going off of well here's suzian we have uh so far we have uh jacliel we have ryan hall y'all mallory schnell chris shuck are all in at this point lobo needs to step it up here is what i'm hearing i only got one from lobel so far right yes well Well, most of those are Mario's. So far Mario has zero in.
Starting point is 00:06:27 Come on Mario. Zero of three so far. Take your time? Take your time. You got 20 minutes. You got 25 minutes. There's not a whole. So what do you decide about Cantori?
Starting point is 00:06:39 What do you mean? What am I deciding? You're going to let him slide until 3 o'clock? Yeah, but he can't do the charity money. I think I think I'm going to let him slide so that he's on the graphic when we put out the final totals. But if it's not in by 1130, he can't win the charity money. We can't cave to celebrity status. These people are very nice to do it.
Starting point is 00:06:56 They're following the rules. And to be fair, he's very nice to do it. This isn't even his thing, right? Like, he's assigned to New York City and he's doing this. I want to keep him in. So where are we going to do to keep him in? That's up is a good get you got last night. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:11 But anyway, we'll still wait, and I will read all of these at 1130. A couple pieces of news. First of all, Dionne Walker, named to the NFL first team all rookie, which is a heck of a heck of a get for him. He obviously had a lot of attention because of his play during the playoffs. I like Deon Walker. He had a very disappointing last year at Kentucky,
Starting point is 00:07:34 but I actually thought he was really good. His first two years. I don't think people ever thought he put in the effort maybe that he should have, but he's obviously a huge town. Made a huge play in the Broncos playoff game with the bills. I think got him a little more recognition. But yeah, a guy that maybe just didn't put in the work
Starting point is 00:07:49 you're supposed to on the practice field in the late weight room, in the film room that he should have maybe his last year at Kentucky. And the bills kind of got us still with him because some of that kind of came out before the draft. Might have slipped a little bit depending where you thought of him. And he had a great productive year, obviously, by getting these accolades. Are you a fan of his? Some Kentucky fans feel a little shaky about him because he, you know, he just never felt like he totally put in 100% effort. I'll get on his laurels a little bit.
Starting point is 00:08:18 But, yeah, I mean, just because he was a big guy, I feel like it's always, you know, Those guys are always fan favorites, like the big guys on the team. And sometimes people think they're lazy because of that, which isn't always fair to it. One person writes, Matt, can we make the tournament with Denzel Aberdeen as our point guard? I feel like you all keep skipping over that. Originally, I would have probably said no. But the last three games, he has changed my mind. I mean, he's doing a great job.
Starting point is 00:08:44 And I think like we said, he's not now looking over his shoulder. Well, if I make a mistake, is low coming in. I'm not going to play the one. I'm going to play the two. He knows now he is the point guard. This is his team. So I think that's why we're seeing better play from him. Yeah, I worry about point guard.
Starting point is 00:08:59 To be honest, now like Ham Williams heard, I'm worried about just that whole back court. I just worry about having enough bodies with Aberdeen and everyone. When let me ask if you all could think about this too as a fan. When they have the ball at the top of the key and they start dribbling and they're going to the basket, who are you the most confident will score and who are you the least confident will score? OA I'm most confident. OA I'm most confident, although he misses a lot of layups. And he's not shooting free throws well for a guy that draws foul.
Starting point is 00:09:29 He's still the guy, though, into the game. He's still the most confident. Can I give you my least? I have my least ready too. Go ahead. When Mo Diabate starts dribbling. I just know, first of all, he is not passing. Like, when he takes the first dribble door the basket, it's going up.
Starting point is 00:09:47 Like, it just is. And it probably is not going in. it's usually short. He's the only part big man I've ever seen that shoots shot short every time. So that's mine. I agree with you. He had a big basket again in the Texas game where he got it down low and actually took it to the rim and got fouled.
Starting point is 00:10:03 He did. No, you're right. And he got fouled. And I think he made that free throw. There were a couple trips late in the Texas game where he just lowered his head. I'm not even sure he knew he had a basketball on his hands. And he just went into traffic and drew a foul. And he made one.
Starting point is 00:10:15 Yeah, he did. But he missed one. And I think you're right. He got foul in the other one. I think Brandon Garrison's also got to be on the list. I mean, I'm surprised you didn't say him. I know how frustrated he makes you just watching a play. First of all, he doesn't do it as much this year.
Starting point is 00:10:28 The thing that frustrates me about Brandon Garrison when he drives is his limbs go in four different directions. That's a problem when you're trying to dribble. When he jumps, I don't know if you, like he becomes a starfish when he jumps. I don't know if you ever notice. Like he just, his body goes in every direction. You would think in theory would be good for drawing a foul. You're hitting like all four players at once. But to answer your question, 08.1.
Starting point is 00:10:49 Who's second? Aberdeen's now number two. I mean, he went to the line, what, 12 times against Texas? Because he was driving into the lane and getting fouled. I actually kind of think Collins number two for me. Because I feel like he doesn't do it unless he's going to score, and then I know he's going to make the free throws. Although Aberdeen shot free throws well, too.
Starting point is 00:11:06 But what about you? I don't think we're great at finishing. The layup numbers have been atrocious lately. At one point, we were three of 11 in layups against Texas. We got better at the end of the game, but we were three of 11 at one point. We were five for 14 against Tennessee. There were a couple against Texas. I think Marino was one of them.
Starting point is 00:11:26 I swear the bottom, the ball hit the bottom of the net and then rolled back out on just a little bunny. But they have been so bad finishing. But for the exercise, I will say Chandler with a slight edge. But he and Aberdeen are pretty close. Yeah. Some of the other guys, I can't. I mean, and Jasper misses a bunch, too. Jasper gets in the lane and gets the shot off.
Starting point is 00:11:46 He just missing a couple down there. It feels like he's so athletic. Don't avoid contact. Your good free throw shooter, take it into the guy. Who's next? Doing great is next. Go ahead, sir, doing great. Hey, Matt, I'm doing great, but I'm going to be honest, maybe not today.
Starting point is 00:12:02 So I listen to this show every single day, and this past week's been the most upsetting for me. I mean, you've just been acting like it'll be some miracle if we get eight or nine wins in the SEC win. As far as I'm concerned, we're in second place. we're going to get a double buy, and me and you're going to be party in Nashville while you're in your hotel room, I don't know, Obama's latest. I mean, beyond the lame joke at the end, I'm not saying it's not crazy that we could do that. But, I mean, you would objectively agree that of the 11 or 12 games left, we'll be underdogs in like eight of them, right? Yeah, yeah, but again, probably, probably what, two or three points?
Starting point is 00:12:47 I mean, I just, I don't understand. just go over it. Let's take these road games, and you tell me how many of them you think we're going to win. Okay? We're going to win at Vandy? I think we get one of them or Arkansas. We'll get one this week. All right. I mean, I hope we do. Do you think we win at Florida? No. You think we win at Auburn? Yes. Okay. You think we went at Texas A&M? No. Okay. And do you think we win at South Carolina? Yes. All right. So you've already given us three losses. Now are we going to beat Florida at home? We'll drop one at Rupp for the rest of the year.
Starting point is 00:13:32 All right. So now you got four losses, which would make us 10, what, 12 and 6. I picked us 10 and 8. That's just a two-game difference, man. It's not that big a difference. Yeah, that might be two or three seeds in the tournament, though, depending on where there's losses come. Could be. Probably, I appreciate the call. Don't think we'll get a double buy, Drew. but I think we might get a single buy, which is okay. Yeah, I'm feeling. I had some Wednesday concerns after losing to Missouri, like I'm sure many other people did.
Starting point is 00:14:02 But with the way it's clumped up right now, no team has a big lead. I think Kentucky, I mean, still basketball. Big Florida wins the league? Probably. Or Arkansas. Arkansas's playing really well right now, too. They have two losses.
Starting point is 00:14:15 By the way, we do need to know. We play Arkansas next Saturday. Yeah, we're from tomorrow. Any confidence about that game? I watched him just destroy Vanderbilt the night. Sorry, Shannon. They just destroyed. They're good at home.
Starting point is 00:14:25 But they lost by 23 at Auburn. Auburn was lights out. That game. We'll have to be lights out. Well, they were lights out in the game. They had you. They were. But, yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:34 They have a game, I think, is that South Carolina. They had 28 assists and four turnovers. That A-Cuff had 13 assists. You had 28 assists and four turnovers? Yeah. Who's next? Matthew is next. Matthew, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:14:50 Hey, Matt. First time, long time. Who are? I am with three generations of Kentucky fans driving from Wisconsin to Iowa to Lexington for the game for my daughter's first Kentucky game tomorrow. And she wanted to call in. And that's what we're doing. Okay, just question before you switch it, you decided to come this game. Are you worried about the snow at all?
Starting point is 00:15:18 No, sir. I live in Wisconsin, used to it there. and we brought our snowblower with us. We got shoveled. We got boots. We're prepared. That's how you know you grew up in you live in Wisconsin. You bring shovels with you on your vacation trips.
Starting point is 00:15:34 I like that. Bring your own snow plow to your air band. Yes, enjoy. Does your daughter want to say something? Yeah, if that's all right, I'll pass the phone to her. All right. Billy's favorite part of the show. Hi.
Starting point is 00:15:47 What's up? Hi, how are you? I'm Matt. I'm excited to go to Kentucky. Well, I hope you enjoy the game. Who's your favorite player? I don't know. Okay, good answer, good answer.
Starting point is 00:16:06 Don't want to pick in between people. I appreciate the call. 859-280-20-2-287. We have our Kevin Harnett. Mario, you got your first one, right? So we have six of our 10. We need four more. Wow.
Starting point is 00:16:22 Big difference again? Not a huge. I'm just, we're all going to be stuck in our house. I hope everybody knows None of y'all Nobody's going anywhere I like a little trash Some of the Lexington folks
Starting point is 00:16:33 Saying L's down with their prediction Is there a little Lexington Louisville Intertwined in this Yeah look at Chris Bailey what he said So we can't let Louisville beat us again El's down Wow and then Kevin Harnett said He was named after Kevin Grevy
Starting point is 00:16:48 And Bob Guyette Did you know that? No Kevin Gaiette Hardin Hardin. We got some cats in Louisville too Look at this A lot of good stuff
Starting point is 00:16:56 859-280-2-82-87. We're going to take a break, and we'll be right back. This is the Kentucky Sports Radio at Don Franklin. Last night, a blown call changed a game. Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing. And we're still chasing it. And we don't know when we've done enough. Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses. Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,
Starting point is 00:18:31 because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth, or are you a good person because you're afraid? Because that's two different intentions, bro. Absolutely. And that's two different levels of trust. I want you to just really be a good person. Join me, Kear Gaines,
Starting point is 00:18:45 as we have real conversations about healing, growth, fatherhood, pressure, and purpose on my new podcast, Learn the Hard Way. Open your free, Our Heart Radio app. Search Learn the Hardway and listen now. Jacob Kingston grew up in an isolated polygamous sect. We were God's chosen kingdom on earth. He felt destined for greatness.
Starting point is 00:19:06 So when a swaggering Armenian businessman catapults Jacob into an extraordinary world, he doesn't look back. Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, meeting the president of Turkey. I'm Michelle McPhee, and this is one of the most shocking criminal conspiracies I've ever come across. When Jacob met Levin this went to a billion-dollar fraud. But with two kings from entirely different worlds, just how long can their empire survive? The largest tax investigation in American history. You need to tell me what you know.
Starting point is 00:19:41 Is somebody coming after me? Jacob told Levan, you're ruining my life. Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged. It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Starting point is 00:20:07 Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome back. is.
Starting point is 00:20:30 Tadie Sports Radio here live at Don Franklin. Go the distance with power train protection on certified pre-o makes and models. For our 10 years or unlimited miles, it is Don Franklin. Worries are benched here at Don Franklin. We have nine of our 11 predictions are in. We are waiting on Justin Logan from Fox 56, who Mario says he knew, but I'm worried has made up the fact that he ever met that person. and Jim Cantori obviously is not he's going to do it a little bit later
Starting point is 00:21:03 some big numbers coming in right now I am you worried might now go to the grocery store we're a few weeks into the new year and the resolutions are feeling harder to get through but cornbread hemp will help you stick with it cornbread hemp take the edge off a long day without worrying about a hangover the next morning it is cornbread hemp.com and use the promo code don't quit for buy one get 50% off. Do I do the little apostrophe? I don't know why I don't quit. No, no posture.
Starting point is 00:21:34 Okay. Don't quit. Buy one, 50% off at cornbread hemp. I don't understand the slogan there. They don't want us to quit buying them. Don't want us to quit taking them? Maybe don't quit fighting for hemp. There you go.
Starting point is 00:21:47 Don't quit fighting for hemp. That's why we pay him the big bucks. 859-2-287. One person writes, Matt, do you feel like our three-point shooting woes have turned the corner. Yeah, I do. You know, Aberdeen's shooting great. Always hitting shots.
Starting point is 00:22:04 Chandler's hitting shots. You still got Jasper and come off the bench and one of your top three-point shooters. So I would say to answer that question, even with the Cam Williams out, the answer is yes. Yeah, Chabardine. Chandler and Aberdeen especially, Chandler seems to have found his confidence that he lost in December. Aberdeen, I think he had one airball in the last two weeks, but a lot more going in now. I hate the Cam Williams is out because still one. one another shooter so maybe Trent Noah can help
Starting point is 00:22:28 Aberdeen and Chandler out and making them. Oh, way too, always been hitting them. And we just got our final one, Justin Logan in. All right, so I will read these forecasts at 1030. Okay. 1130. I'm not reading 1130. I'm not reading what the one guy said accidentally.
Starting point is 00:22:42 No, no, he should read it. Come on, you can't say that not read it. You got to read it. He didn't do that on purpose. We don't know that. We don't know that. He might have. It's auto correct.
Starting point is 00:22:52 I don't think he did that on purpose. 859-280-27 2287 who's next got chuck up next you should see what it was just by Ryan's laughter Chuck go ahead Chuck he just he just spelled sleep wrong all right it was one letter that he missed go ahead I got a suggestion for Ryan that could solve two major problems this weekend Ryan why don't you just invite Matt to ride the storm out with you Yeah, no thank you. First of all, I like being, I appreciate the call.
Starting point is 00:23:31 I like being by myself. And secondly, he would drive me crazy for that long together in one room. I love him, but, you know, 48 hours in one house. I can make us some frozen pizza. And your dogs. Oh, yeah, the dogs. That's not a good combo for you. Yeah, that would not be good.
Starting point is 00:23:47 I'm home alone, too. The three of us could get together in Ryan's basement. Watch games, watch movies, catch up on all this stuff you want me to watch that I haven't watched. Yeah, some of these predictions, you're not, we will all be there for a while. Who's next? Got David up next. David, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:24:05 Hey, everyone. I have a question and a suggestion. So my question for Matt is you've mentioned heated rivalry on the podcast, on the show a couple of times this week, including a reference to the weatherman. Yeah, I've not seen it yet. What are you implying about the off-camera lives of these weathermen? It raises some questions. Yeah, I'm not planning anything. I'm just saying.
Starting point is 00:24:33 I think I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Ryan has probably not seen it, but it is six half-hour episodes, and I would love for Ryan to watch heated rivalry while he has snowed in and give us a review next week. I want to stay on the air, and so I'm not letting Ryan do that. I appreciate the call. I have thought about that. I have thought about that assigning Ryan that. show but I think Drew that's probably for everybody not the best idea well this contest could be
Starting point is 00:25:00 sleeted rivalry it's like our own version of that where they have the same lifestyle I get the premise of that show but I haven't seen it I have not seen it yet either 859-280 2287 who do you like Tennessee Bama this weekend well Tennessee is kind of struggling a little bit they're kind of going the wrong way it seems like in Alabama I just think they're just one of the top team in the country so I would take Alabama they've struggled though too I mean, they have not, we maybe got them at their best. They have struggled, so I don't know. I mean, I think Alabama wins.
Starting point is 00:25:31 Tennessee, we've talked about our problems. Tennessee's got a lot of problems. They've still got a hard schedule, and they're not winning games. Call my dad, he'll tell you all about it. Valls fans are not happy with how they're playing right now. I'm going to take the Valls, though, because they're cheating down there in Bama with that judge, and the basketball gods are just going to punish them for this. Good point.
Starting point is 00:25:51 Tennessee's got a high ceiling that I think they still haven't really reached yet. I think they'll turn a corner at Bama and win a little rivalry. Let me just say what the judge did is really, from a legal perspective, shady. I don't think people totally understand. He issued a TRO, so he issued a temporary restraining order, which only lasts for 10 days. So he issued a temporary restraining order that said he gets to play for 10 days. And then I'll decide. But temporary restraining order should only be if the party suffers irreparable,
Starting point is 00:26:28 or like irreparable harm by not playing him. We've got to see if he's any good for 10 days. Is that what we're doing? I mean, do you think this kid or Alabama suffers irreparable harm if he doesn't play against Tennessee? No. No. I mean, they have a hearing next Friday. They could just decide next Friday.
Starting point is 00:26:45 He issues an emergency. Takes a guy who hasn't played college basketball in two years, who hasn't played all year and says Alabama will be irreparably harmed if he doesn't play against Tennessee. That is one of the crazier legal. I can't imagine what his justification was. That is ridiculous. And we all know a Kentucky judge would never do such a thing for Kentucky basketball if we were in that situation. I called him a cheater, but I'll also whisper, that's how you do college sports.
Starting point is 00:27:10 That's what you do. Oh, so you're saying like if we had. Not to that extent. If Dean Pate, would we have surfer irreparable harm if he did not irrefural? reparable harm if he did not play against Old Miss. You think one of our judges would do that? If we wanted it bad enough, I bet we'd find a judge. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:26 Wink, wink, there's all kind of judges. Well, we got Judge Gabe. Good doing it for us. Yeah, come on, Judge Gabe. Who's up next? Rick is up next. Rick, go ahead, Rick. I've got a couple things here.
Starting point is 00:27:38 On your snow cuddle things coming in, you've got Louisville and at the airport and the UK is doing it at the Airplex and doing the airport. Yes, it's going to go off. Or both of them. Everyone is pretty. Well, they do have something called the National Weather Service that I think is still being funded. And you, they measure it.
Starting point is 00:28:04 So that's what we're using. Okay. And. All right. He's okay with that. I think he'll be on him. Why hope he does good at the start of the games? I wonder why he keeps pulling him back or two.
Starting point is 00:28:20 Well, he got taken out. He got taken out. out in the last game because he got two fouls. But Pope, I appreciate the call. Pope has that. Don't play people with two fouls. I don't love that rule sometimes. He hit a big shot for us, too. We've only talked about. Kind of a tough shot, and he hit it.
Starting point is 00:28:36 I think he's getting some confidence every game. He's going out there. He's been great. He's been a huge advantage we didn't necessarily see. And he's got really efficient numbers. I wish he'd shoot more and get a little more run. He's 50% from three lately. I think he's like four for eight. Let's pump those numbers up. The picks are in. We'll tell you snow totals right after this. This KSR.
Starting point is 00:28:54 Welcome back, Tuggy Sports Radio, 859-280-2287. A couple things quickly. First of all, KSbar OpenSmart 830 a.m. Our pregame shows at 8.30 a.m. As well, we'll be there. We're serving breakfast. It is a pajama party. Apparently, you...
Starting point is 00:29:11 Huh? I got to wear PJs? You don't have to. The people that work there are all wearing their PJs since it's so early, and if you wanted to wear your PJs, you would be welcome. There's also specials on the... like Bloody Mary's and breakfast things.
Starting point is 00:29:24 I did wear my house shoes there last week. But it's a pajama part. So if I show up in my pajamas, you will know why. Second, the college football playoff has decided for one more year to stay at 12 teams instead of expanding to 16 or 24. They put off that decision now for another year, right? Seems to work right now. I know a lot of people want to see it expand, but I kind of like the format.
Starting point is 00:29:45 And I think like Miami had to play, what, four games to get to the championship? That's if you expand it, they've got to play a lot more than that. All right, so it is now time for meteorologist madness with the KSR Weather Challenge. We have $10,000 in charity on the line, $5,000 from Commonwealth Causes, 3,000 from ServePro who will help you make this weather like it never even happened, and then 2,000 from yours truly, who, you know, want you all to be happy with it at your charity of choice. So we had 11 people agree. Everyone, the head meteorologies at the Lexington and Louisville TV stations, a couple of wild cards.
Starting point is 00:30:28 Jim Cantori only had one person turn us down. What was his name? Weather boy. That's right. So weather boy turns us down. Everybody else is in. All right. So we have our picks are in.
Starting point is 00:30:40 First of all, Jim Cantori is asked to have until later this afternoon. We're going to give it to him. However, he's not eligible for the charity prize. So he'll be in it, but without the charity prize, it was nice of him to do it, and we're glad to have it, but he won't be with the charity prize. But he will have his picks this afternoon. Here are our picks. Ten people, Lexington and Louisville.
Starting point is 00:31:04 That's 20 picks. Ten in Lexington, 10 in Louisville. Only one pick is less than 10 inches of snow. Oh, wow. We're in for it. Only one pick is less than 10 inches of snow. I will go in order of the picks. Let's start with Louisville.
Starting point is 00:31:22 The highest. Your band, Captain Reed Yaden says 14.4 inches of snow. Wow. Bill Meck says 14. Chris Bailey, 13.9. Jay Cardozy, 14.3. Mallory Schnell, 13.9. Ryan Hall, y'all, 13.7.
Starting point is 00:31:43 Kevin Arnett, 12.6. and then Jim Caldwell 11.4 and T.G. Shuck 11. So the smallest prediction in Louisville is 11 inches of snow. They're all right around to each other, especially in that 13 to 14 range. I didn't expect it to be that tight. It's probably for Reid Yaden, who doesn't have a Doppler radar to look at. At least I don't think he does. It's right there with Jay Cardozy. But he's in a helicopter. He may be closer to the snow. That's right. He has his hat on. He's a captain. So the range goes from 11.1 with T.Such to 4.5.
Starting point is 00:32:15 14.4 from Captain Reed Yaden. Now in Lexington, the range is much higher. At the high end, Jim Caldwell, 15.2 inches in Lexington. Then Chris Bailey, 14.2. Kevin Harrodin, 13.2. Jay Cardozy, 13.1. Met, 10.8. Shuck, 10.4.
Starting point is 00:32:39 Logan, 10.0. Ryan Hall, y'all. only 7.9. Wow. So the range goes from 15.2 for Jim Caldwell to 7.9 for Ryan Hall, y'all. This is a big opportunity for Ryan Hall. So Lexington, a huge difference. And the difference, I asked both of them, the difference is Ryan Hall thinks it will go from snow into sleet and freezing rain,
Starting point is 00:33:06 whereas Caldwell thinks it will just be snow. So in Ryan Hall y'all's world, it's probably pretty terrible for, Lexington, even though it gets less snow. But if he's right, though, he really sets himself apart from all the other meteorologists. So if it's a low Lexington amount, then Hall y'all's in good shape. If it's a very high amount, Jim Caldwell is in good shape. And if it's in the middle, it will be one of these many other folks. Yeah, it seems like for Louisville, they're all kind of just kind of in the ballpark of each other.
Starting point is 00:33:32 That wide range of Lexington, I guess, depends on that line where it's going to go. But what do you think about the fact that no one is getting less than 10 inches of snow here starting today, at least according to these folks? We keep hearing that it's coming, but it's actually here there to the 1-10th predictions, and they're all pretty consistent. That's alarming, but it's right here in front of us. I know we got 10 or 11 inches in Louisville last year, and it shut everything down. Now, what happens if we only get like three? The Ryan Hall, y'all, is your winner.
Starting point is 00:33:59 But, I mean, do you just decide that, like... Nobody knows what they're talking about. Ryan, that's kind of like almost we should put your face on it, and we get very little snow means Ryan is correct, because you've always claimed these people don't know. anything you just can't predict mother nature well you can they're trying to but you can't even bill came on with the show last year and said man it's you know we can tell you what you're doing that day but to predict days ahead it just can't do it you want to predict the dusting
Starting point is 00:34:25 no the famous dusting i was at channel 18 when that happened everybody said dusting is snow and we got like 13 inches in one night it was crazy all right so uh mario's fixing the graphic and we will put it out and then we will let everybody see and then the results it they go Saturday at midnight to the end of Sunday, 48 hours of snow. And I'll say this, the guys that I've been in contact with have been a great attitude about it. They understand it's for a charity, and they're trying to have some fun with it. I'm like a weather boy who took it to another level. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:56 You're really harsh. By the way, a lot of charities, all of them picked a charity, and they all picked a different charity. Yes, all that. Which I think is very nice. True. Yeah, very cool. They're all doing this. Louisville, I don't think is going to have much impact on their careers.
Starting point is 00:35:09 but if Ryan Hall is right on the low end, that's Internet versus all TV right there. So he actually has a chance to gain even more momentum for his format. We'll see. But if Ryan Hall's wrong, the weather. The more snow you get, the other weather people start flexing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:26 In a way, I think he has the most to gain because he's not on TV. If Ryan Hall gets it right, I'm going to stop watching anybody on TV, including Weatherboy. I love it. Who's up next? Matt is up next. Matt, go ahead, Matt. Hey, guys. What's going on?
Starting point is 00:35:47 I'm at the Mountain Parlor and beautiful home in Kentucky, get my wildcat fade, fresh wildcat fade, and I just got to take a thing. When you said Mountain Parlor, I didn't know what kind of parlor it was, so I'm glad to hear it's a hair thing. It could have, yeah, it could have been a lot of stuff. Okay, good. Yeah, my guy.
Starting point is 00:36:08 Matt Mullins is a killer. He does the old school. He does the straight razors and hot towels, all that. But anyway. Well, good. Okay, I got a couple things you through me off, Matt. But who do you think is going to step up for the absence of Cam Williams, you know, who we got, who we got to step up? I appreciate to call my man.
Starting point is 00:36:36 Can Trent Noah do it? That's really the question. When it comes to replacing Cam Williams, Jasper's going to play some, probably a little more. What happens with Trent Noah? Can he get minutes and actually make a difference? He's going to have to because he is going to get minutes, and that game like tomorrow, he'll can play a lot of minutes. But you play something like Arkansas, he may not be able to help you as much. Depends on, I think, who the opponent is, but he definitely can help you.
Starting point is 00:37:00 I think to answer his question, though, the guy's going to stand up for me is Colin Chandler. I think he's finally figured it out and he just going to get better and better. He's had a great last two games, and he played better once Cam went out, because it's kind of what we talked about. You can't send him to the bench. But even with that, with Cam out, you still need more people. Trent, he's going to be a defensive liability the rest of the year. But if he can just hit a couple of threes a game,
Starting point is 00:37:23 you know, you don't have to come in here and be the star or lead the team in scoring. Just spread the floor and hit some threes. Does Trent Noah score seven points a game for the rest of the year? No. I'll go under. I'll go under. Six? Under.
Starting point is 00:37:38 You know what? I'll be the one person to say over. I'll say it's six. We're getting pretty close. If he doesn't get to six, then he's not going to be very beneficial to us. I mean, ultimately. And you need somebody to step up. If you don't have somebody to fill that void,
Starting point is 00:37:50 then this team is going to lose a lot of games. And you lose that shooting. Think about how much worse we look when Cam Williams was sitting on the bench earlier this year. Remember how teams we would just, we could not score? That's what I worry about is going to happen. If he just comes in and even just hits one, okay? Now you have to honor him.
Starting point is 00:38:06 he's out on the floor kind of spread that out a little bit so he's just got to be able to knock down a shot of game uh 859 280 2287 let's do some draft kings kentucky do we have a spread yet actually meant to check that during the break should be close i'm going to give it at kentucky i'm going to say kentucky nine and a half i'm just going to make it go to draftkings dot com if it's kentucky nine and a half who you take in shit if it's nine and a half i'm probably taking old miss i think kutky wins but i don't know that they win convincingly what about you Drew? If it's that, I wouldn't actually do it, but I would pick Ole Miss. Confession, I bet Texas first half last game that worked out. But not the full game, so I don't think that's
Starting point is 00:38:43 going against the cats. What about you? See, I'm kind of with these guys. I don't think I would bet it, but I would probably lean towards, that's a lot of points. And Kentucky's a team, I don't think it's going to blow out anybody this year. That's going to grind out every game. We still don't have one yet. Yeah, I mean, I would say it's going to be high. I mean, remember, Texas was seven and a half, and they're better than Ole Miss. So it's going to be nine and a half, ten, something like that, we'll probably end up being the spread. We're going to take a break and be right back.
Starting point is 00:39:09 We are here at Don Franklin Otto in Campbellsville. This is Kentucky Sports Radio. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. But with two kings from entirely different worlds, just how long can their empire survive? The largest tax investigation in American history. You need to tell me what you know. If you need a cold morning, you need some hot coffee, go to Clark's Pump and Shop. They've got beans, ground, and brewed, not branded,
Starting point is 00:42:58 cup by scup, skip the long coffee lines and go to Clark's Pumping Shop. Today, there is one near you. I like Clark's Puppets Shop. I couldn't read that for some reason. A pump. I shop. A pump. Have you seen the new commercial? No.
Starting point is 00:43:12 No, it's great. You've got Malachi, Braden Hawthor, Jasper Johnson, and Tom Leach. And Noah from Hay, Kentucky. That's right. Noah from Hay Kentucky. He's in it. He's the cashier. What are Tom Leach and the others doing?
Starting point is 00:43:24 He introduces, Tom Leach, introduces the players as they walk into Clark's Pump and Shop. Oh, he does like an intro? Uh-huh. Oh, that's very nice. Yeah. By the way, a couple people have asked that we give the charities. I'll do that in a graphic where I put all these out. A couple things I've noticed.
Starting point is 00:43:40 The WKYT guys in Lexington, they're the highest Lexington snow counts. You know, Weatherboy accused them of being snow hose. Yeah. This may actually be, we'll see if they're right or not. I feel like some of the Lexington meteorologists, though, are letting like this robbery between Kentucky and Louisville affect their snow totals. Like, oh, it can't Louisville beat us even in snow totals. So maybe they're, you know, they're changing what they believe because of that.
Starting point is 00:44:06 That's what I'm seeing in some of the text here. Trent, no, one person writes on text machine, Matt, in my memory, Trent Noah scored 42 points in the state championship game. Quit putting criticism on Trent. If he's giving up a two and hitting a three on the other end, then we're one ahead. Yes, but he wasn't hitting another threes or taking them. And no offense to Trent, because I love Trent, he's from Eastern Kentucky, 42 points in the state championship game has nothing to do with how you're going to do in an SEC game,
Starting point is 00:44:39 as we've seen many times over the years. Yeah, gentlemen sitting here in the front row asks us if we'll have a Trent Noah, Travis Perry, moment. Like maybe they're going one-on-one with each other out there. That would be cool. That would be cool if they had just a moment at one point during the game. What if they both played well? I think that would be really cool if both those guys played well, we need to win. But if they both played well in that moment, that'd be nice.
Starting point is 00:44:58 And I hope Travis plays well within reason. Nothing extraordinary, nothing spectacular. but I don't want him to come in and just have an O-For-day and just add the kind of things, how things in it here. I hope he plays all right by his standards. Do you think he gets any booze? No. I mean, if he does, it'll be just like a random person trying to be a jerk.
Starting point is 00:45:18 I don't think there'll be any, like, extensive. I mean, I don't know that he did anything wrong, right? Like, he tried to follow his childhood dream, came to Kentucky. Then he followed the money. But he also wanted to. He wasn't going to play. Now, he might have played now because everybody got hurt, but like in his mind he wasn't going to play. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:45:39 I mean, you want him to just sit there? I mean, if somebody offers you a million dollars, or I don't know what he was offered, half million dollars to go to Ole Miss, or they're going to offer you $200,000 to sit the bench at Kentucky. I'm at Ole Miss. Yeah, I think that's a lot of people are. So I can't blame the kid, Ryan. I can't either. I felt like he got thrown into a situation last year.
Starting point is 00:45:56 He just wasn't ready. You know, Butler got hurt. We had to have him as our point guard again in the SEC against outside. Alabama. He just wasn't ready for that. Also, maybe I'll be proven wrong. Maybe he goes for 20 tomorrow, at which point I'll look stupid. That could be true. I also wonder if he's in the right conference, Drew, for him. I'm not saying he needs to be a mid-major player, but he might be a guy who just needs to play in the Big Ten or something. Just a conference that isn't quite as athletic.
Starting point is 00:46:22 Every team in the SEC just has freaks for athletes. We're actually one of the less athletic teams for the second year in a row. So, I mean, I think that's a lot. I think that maybe that's part of it too. And I found it odd that Chris Beard wanted him so bad for that reason because that's a defensive coach. And Chris Beard didn't just kind of won him. Chris Beard wanted Travis Perry bad and got him. And as you're saying with the SEC and the way Beard coaches, I didn't understand that
Starting point is 00:46:46 matchup, but they're there together now and Travis is playing a little better lately. He has been better. What about, let's not forget, Ole Miss thumped Kentucky last year, including some of these same guys. Malik Dia is still on the team. He's one of the dudes that just kept making every shot. I mean, this game wasn't even close last year. It's the one where Pope heard his finger tearing the locker room apart.
Starting point is 00:47:06 I mean, this was one of their worst games of the season a year ago. I wonder pieces of change, but some of the guys might remember. For O.A. and Pope, that should be something that is motivating in Garrison. Garrison gave up a lot of the points left here. Who's up next? Ben is up next. Ben, go ahead, Ben. Hey, first time, long time from Tucson, Arizona.
Starting point is 00:47:26 Owa, what's up? First of all, I want to play Spitz. ads on some of these meteorologists. Can we do that like March Madness? I mean, I got some money on Mallory Schnell. I think. Oh, there's a good number there, 13.9. There have been a lot of people who, there have been people who put out odds. So I can, they're out there if you want to find them. You're, your, my, so. There we go. Yeah. There we go. Yeah. But go ahead. Big question, really, is without Cam Williams, I know you say Trent Noah, but I mean, Mark Pope, we got a lot of injuries on two, two years in a row.
Starting point is 00:48:00 You think it's just a trend that happens where you guys that play too hard or need bubble wrap around everyone? Well, that's been a debate online. Do you think, Poe, you know, training staff, do you think any of that has anything to do with all these injuries or is it just random? I think it's just random. I don't think it can be random. I don't know. I appreciate the call. I'm asking them.
Starting point is 00:48:24 Go ahead. I feel like it's just random. I know it seems kind of odd. They've been kind of snake bit the last two years, but it just, you know, you know, it just, you know, you know, it's, you know, it's just. It's just basketball, man. Injuries happen. It just so happened. We've had a lot all at once.
Starting point is 00:48:34 For me, Drew, it's kind of, I think it's random because of what the injuries are. Right. If the injuries were hamstring tears or, you know, things that are about how you perform and train. I mean, two guys separate their shoulder. I mean, what's a trainer going to do about that? I don't think there's anything they can do about that. I don't think breaking your foot. Is that really something that is on?
Starting point is 00:48:59 I just bring more milk. Yeah, I feel like the injuries themselves make me lean towards random. I agree. There's a lot of people calling the training staff out by name right now. I've sat with them. We're like, Ken Williams is backpedaling on defense. I don't know much about broken feet, but I don't know that the trainer could have done much to prevent that.
Starting point is 00:49:17 Kerr last year, that seemed like a freak accident when we're in Seattle. So it just seems like unfortunate luck, even though it's out of control at this point. Yeah. So I'm pretty, I'm pretty random about it. All right, let's make some predictions. Here we go. Cats and Old Miss. Kentucky's a 9.5 point favorite.
Starting point is 00:49:35 Who you think? What's the score? Kentucky wins 81.75, and I'll take away as my MVP. All right. Kentucky wins 7771, and I will say, Yelovich. I'm going to keep trying to speak that into existence. I'll go Kentucky 79, 72, and I'll take Aberdeen then. He's still available.
Starting point is 00:49:55 He's been killing it. I'm going to go Kentucky 76, 66, and I'll go away. I think we're going to play pretty well and get a victory. All right. Snow. The weathermen have weighed in. Shannon, Louisville, and Lexington snow total. You want me to pick the total in inches? I'm going to say for
Starting point is 00:50:20 Louisville. Meaders, please. Of course. I didn't know if you want me to pick like the meteorologist that picked, okay. I'm going to say, Louisville gets 13.1, Lexington gets 10.7. Okay. I'll say 12.6 for Louisville, and I'm going to lean a little closer to Ryan Hall, y'all. He's my meteorologist pick. I'll say 8.4 for Lexington.
Starting point is 00:50:41 Okay. 12.1 for Louisville, 9.8 for Lexington. I got to go with the snow hose. I think it's going to be 13.8 Louisville, 12.1, Lexington. and on Monday we'll be doing this from our houses. We'll play one shining snowman with the music, crown the winter. That's exactly right. Hey, thank you all in Campbellsville very much for coming out.
Starting point is 00:51:06 We really do appreciate it. Always a warm welcome here. Thank you to Druthers. And big thanks to Commonwealth Causes and ServePro.
