Now, here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back. Hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio, 859-280, 2287.
Text machine 772-774-5254.
One person writes, Matt, I'm an older,
listener, as you would sometimes call a little old lady.
Have to tell you, Ryan's always been my favorite.
But him refusing to do the sidewalks brings him down a notch for me.
Does he not think about elderly people who need a place to walk?
Yeah, I'm elderly.
I'm not out there risking heart attacks scraping my sidewalk.
If you want to walk, walk in the middle of the street.
Oh, you think you're elderly?
I am elderly.
But sometimes you claim you're young.
You don't get to have it both ways.
are you elderly?
Are you middle age?
Are you young?
What are you?
Yeah, when it benefits me, I'm going to say I'm younger middle age.
But right now benefits me to say I'm elderly.
Which one do you want to be?
Today I'm elderly.
Okay.
Yeah, by definition, I think you're elderly.
Really?
Is 59 elderly?
Oh, I thought he was 60.
I think once you get to 60, you're probably elderly, aren't you?
When do you turn 60?
August.
So we'll call you elderly.
So you're going to be elderly in 60 in August.
That's crazy.
You're 60.
I got to look at now I'm curious like what age actually is elderly.
I always think of elderly as like, I don't know, I think of elderly as like 75.
Okay.
Well, it says generally considered 65 years or older as elderly.
I wonder though, do we do that because that's like retirement age, AARP and all that stuff.
Yeah.
All right.
So you don't get to be elderly.
You're just upper middle age.
One person writes, Shannon has no room to talk about meteorologist.
He's supposedly watching sports, but he hasn't picked a game right since the Reagan administration.
Well, I know that's not true, first of all.
I get them right all the time.
I'll tell you what I do pick and get right.
Was the race to 15?
I took Ole Miss and won that.
That's guaranteed money.
Race to 15 against Kentucky is guaranteed.
I have to think we haven't done too well against the spread this year.
I don't know what our number is.
because even we didn't cover Saturday.
We won by nine, it was nine and a half.
Yep, yep.
I think our overall record is pretty poor this year going against the spread.
By the way, for the record, Chandler, I guess that spread on the dot during our show.
I think you did.
Yeah, you did.
Nine and a half.
And that's exactly what it ended up.
I do want to tell you something that's may factor in when we talked about the game tomorrow.
Vanderbilt canceled classes on campus today, and a lot of the campus has no electricity.
Yeah, so there's a world that could get pushed back.
I mean, I don't think they would cancel it.
I could see him pushing it back to Wednesday, though.
I can't too.
Yep.
So we'll find out as the day goes on.
That'll be interesting because today is Mark Popes.
You know, he does a lot of his stuff today.
So we'll see what ends up happening.
All right.
So the snow was the biggest story in the state.
And I think the second thing was probably the game.
But the third biggest story, and I might argue the second biggest story,
was this fight down in Knott County at the middle school game.
It was everywhere.
I can't think of a video that has gotten more attention from Kentucky in a long time.
So it is Carr Creek Middle School playing Emmalina.
Is that correct?
I'm not sure how to pronounce it.
I've never heard of that middle school before.
I haven't either.
Car Creek, of course, is famous because of the high school basketball many years ago, right?
Right, right.
So the high school is gone, but the middle school is there.
And am I correct? Are both of these in Not County?
I think that's the story I saw.
They're both in Not County.
Okay.
Emmalina, not a school I's familiar with, is playing Car Creek.
Car Creek's up 48 to 30.
Shannon, the live stream of the game does not say where in the game this is.
No.
It doesn't say if it's the third quarter, the fourth quarter,
hard to know where we are in the broadcast.
But now most of the time at this point, most of you all have probably seen his video.
you haven't seen the video, let me just give you a little context.
It looks to me, and you two feel free to jump in and tell me if you think this is wrong.
It looks to me like two kids get in a fight and one kid tackles the other.
Is that how it looks like to you all?
Yeah.
I think so.
It looks like one kid tackles the other.
People come on the floor to try to stop the fight, and it looks to me like the mother of the kid that has gotten tackled is running over to try to help her kids.
and maybe trying to pull the other kid off of her son.
Is that what it looks like to you?
I honestly didn't know who the mother was there to rescue.
I couldn't tell who was who.
The mother is doing something.
She's trying to rescue somebody.
Some mother is doing something.
And then it looks like a man trying to calm the mother down might like put his hand on the mother's shoulder.
I think so.
Okay.
That's what it looks like to me.
And then some, uh,
some,
person named Ryan takes exception to that.
And he starts going after the guy who has put the hand on the shoulder.
Is that how you all see the thing happening?
I assume.
I don't know this, that Ryan is the husband or the significant other of the mom.
Yes.
I think that's right.
So that's the backdrop of what's going.
Now, the audio you're going to hear doesn't explain any of this.
The audio is two announcers, Shannon, who just see.
mortified by all that's happening.
Yeah, they're just calling what's in front of them.
And they don't really know what to do.
And they say some things that, for me, are going to go down in legend history.
And there are at least two things in here, Shannon, that if you don't make them drops,
I don't like you anymore.
All right?
So we're going to play at first all 50 seconds or whatever.
And I want you to just picture what's happening.
They're kids fighting.
Then mom runs down.
Then guy grabs shoulder.
and then Ryan comes and then it's just it's just chaos here we go James James this go get go get
Justin and here we go let's get out of here let's get the ball games hey look here
this ball game's got to get over this game's open this game's over yeah you can't get this
It's got to go.
And they just taste,
Brian.
This ball game is over.
Yeah, let's,
we're going to end our live feed.
This game has got to come to an end.
And then it just ends.
Yep.
And then the game and the feed end.
Okay, I want to go through some things that I really enjoy about this.
First of all, the beginning.
It starts, and the first thing that it said is James,
go get Justin.
Yeah, who's Justin?
That's a great question.
I think Justin is not County's Batman.
All right?
He's the only person that can stop.
There's a lot happening on the floor.
I'm not sure, Shannon, what Justin is going to be able to do about this.
Yeah.
Is he going to be able to get in there and break this whole thing up?
But I do like that initially, the first thought is, go get Justin.
Justin must be a badass.
I want to know who Justin.
Maybe a police officer, possibly?
I don't know.
I don't think a police officer can stop that.
Justin is going to come in.
James, go get Justin.
Then there's like 20 seconds of, we can't have this.
Yeah.
This game's over.
This ain't good.
Oh, this is, oh, here we go.
Like, it's just a lot happening.
And then you hear in the background a little, you hear the taser.
Go listen, you hear the taser.
And then they just tased Ryan.
The thing I love about that, first of all, we're going to use this for our ride for the rest of time.
The nonchalant way, A, the man says it.
They just tell you's Ryan.
Like it just happens every week.
Like it happens every week.
This is what happens at Car Creek games.
Sometimes Ryan gets tased.
No big deal.
Ryans on the floor.
Right on the floor again.
It wasn't outrage.
No.
It wasn't.
It didn't even.
It did not even sound like they were surprised.
Well, ladies, Taze Ryan.
This happens to every other home game.
Here we go, Gian.
The other thing is, how casual was the Taze?
He just walked up there and went,
Yes.
No warning.
Didn't raise his hands or his arms or anything.
He's also not in official gear.
Who is that man?
Maybe that Justin.
That could be.
Maybe that was Justin.
It could be.
be just to do people just get to walk around tasing people he doesn't have he doesn't have police
gear on he doesn't have security gear on the khaki's on and i like that he the guy goes they
just the collective they tased ryan and who's ryan who is ryan is he a parent he's tased and then
i like it well this is going this game's going to have to end
I like the announcer just ends the game.
I think Tom Leach should do that sometimes.
I think when we're up three.
We should just taste somebody.
Tom Lynch should go, well, this game's going to have to just end.
And then it ends.
Well, they just tase Mark.
It's so wonderful.
When they tased Ryan and he drops down, like nobody even comes to his defense.
They're just going to even lay there.
Because I think they think.
it happens all the time.
He's just like, well, this is the time of the night.
We tase Ryan to calm him down and we all go home.
Just pick up Ryan and continue with the game.
Yes.
And he falls like a cartoon.
Oh, yeah, he does.
I've never been tays, but I would think anybody probably would.
He falls just directly down, but he gets up very quickly.
Again, I think he's used to it.
I think he's like, halfway through the fourth quarter, I'm going to get Tays, Shamed.
That's just going to be the way this is.
He's got like a little bit of an immutity built up to the tase.
He's been tased so many times.
It's like, eh, you know, like a bee sting.
The video was everywhere, though, man.
I mean, it was all over the place this weekend.
And they just tased rind is the best.
So I'm going to need you to Shannon give me two drops for the future.
One, James, go get Justin.
Yeah.
I don't know when we'll use that, but that's fine.
No, anytime there's a problem.
Yeah.
If there's technology issues, we can't get connected.
Yeah.
James, go get just.
Yeah.
And then secondly, they just tased Ryan.
But that announcer deserves an Emmy.
He's dealing with chaos, and yet he stays completely focused and is completely fine.
Yeah.
Not phased in the least.
The accent, too, adds a lot to.
The country accent makes it even better.
Oh, that is Eastern Kentucky to the.
to the core.
That is the most eastern Kentucky.
Like, if you were to draw up for me,
what 13th, 14th, and 15th region sound like,
it's that guy.
And I don't know who he is,
but I love him.
And if you're listening or know him,
and you can either get the announcer
or Ryan.
We need to check on Ryan, make sure he's okay.
Either one of them.
772-7-4-5-254.
I would love to have on,
Ryan, either the announcer or that Ryan, today before the end of the show.
Yeah, the main announcer, you're right, kind of keeps his composure.
The color guy gets a little excited.
He gets the one to get laminated.
This game's over.
It's over.
He's got a little scared.
He's the one that's trying to get Justin.
Like, one guy is trying to stay calm, and the other one's trying to solve the situation.
So somebody knows who they are.
Oh, listen.
First of all, everybody in Knox County, Shannon knows Ryan.
Oh, yeah.
You can tell.
Yeah.
Most tased man in the county.
So if anybody knows how to get in touch of this,
if anybody knows how to get in touch with this announcer,
please let me know.
I want to have him on the show.
I'd like to get some more information about what happened
because it might be my favorite video in a long time.

Welcome back.
It is the, I was going to say, Kentucky's, it's just KSR, 8592-2807.
So I'm getting some information.
Emilina, Ryan, is actually one of the schools we went to during the floods.
Oh, that was Emmelina?
That was one of the two schools.
We went to two schools.
One of them was Emelina.
I'd forgotten that.
That makes sense.
I think that was the one maybe that was collecting all the donations.
Do you remember that?
Yes, yeah.
Kind of the hub for the donations in the whole area was there.
Okay, so that's Emmelina.
I'm told that the person that did the shocking was the school resource off.
officer.
All right?
Okay.
Yeah.
One person writes, Matt, did you see on Inside the NBA, Ernie Johnson said they just tased
right?
No, really?
That is amazing.
It's amazing how far that video has got.
I mean, it's been everywhere.
It was on Fox News.
It was apparently on the Today show this morning.
But the video is amazing, but you got to have the announcers, too, which is why I want to
to have him on.
Because he's the guy that makes it.
Yeah, without him, without that accent.
It's just a voice.
It's just a fight.
Yeah, exactly.
All right, did you get anywhere, Ryan, getting the guy?
I'm working on.
I got a guy who contacted me that has a little more details of the fight.
He said this was the second fight of the game.
Two kids were rejected in the first minute.
Oh, it was the second fight.
All right, 37 minutes to get this guy on, Ryan.
You can do this.
Between this state, we can find the announcer, or we can find Justin, or we can find Ryan.
Can I, can I leave you guys alone and work on it here?
No, 859-2-80.
Come on.
You can do it, right.
Who's up next?
Let's go to Ethan.
Ethan, go ahead, Ethan.
Hey, Matt.
How are we guys are doing well?
Two things.
First off, did you watch the guy climb the skyscraper this weekend?
Great question.
I watched about, so I turned it on Saturday night for about 30 seconds, and I couldn't handle it.
It made me too nervous.
Even though I later read that he said it was actually kind of easy,
I didn't want to be,
I felt like I would be personally responsible if that man fell off that skyscraper,
and I found it to be terrifying.
Shannon, did you watch it at all?
I could not watch it live.
I watched it after the fact, after I knew that he made it to the top,
and I saw that great picture of him at the top of the building,
but I couldn't watch it live.
I don't know.
I find it, is there any backup for him?
Like, if he had fallen, did he have like a parachute?
or anything.
No, I don't think so.
Makes me shiver just thinking about it, man.
Yeah.
So I don't know.
So, sir, I did watch a few minutes, but it made me too nervous, to be honest with you.
It was crazy.
It was really hard.
Second thing, I'm terrified of this Arkansas game.
I really feel like if we get blown out, it's going to really, even if we do some great
things, be a really sour note and what's been kind of a weird season already.
I'll hang up and listen.
but really worried about this week.
I think it's a big week.
Yeah, I mean, I'm worried about it.
I do not think we're going to win.
I actually think not only does it stink that it's Cal,
it's also just a terrible matchup for us.
Like, they do all the things well that we don't.
So, yeah, I mean, I think we have a shot,
Ryan, of stealing the game in Nashville.
I don't know that we have a shot of stealing the game in Arkansas.
I thought we had a shot against Vandy.
They'd lost three in a row, but, man, they looked good this weekend.
they just ran them off the floor this weekend.
Yeah, but that's the thing, though, is you can't.
I think the worst mistake you can make in gambling is putting too much emphasis on the last game.
You know what you mean?
So, like, I look at these teams in the bigger picture, and Vandy's good, but I don't think we can't.
I just, the way Arkansas plays, how fast-paced, how athletic their guards and bigs are,
I just, if we could, if we shot the ball well, that would be different.
But we don't.
And Ryan, that's what makes me worried.
Yeah, more than likely, they shoot the ball really, really well Memorial Gym.
So we've got to have some.
You know who one guy we have not talked about yet,
Yelovich has hit a three in like every game he started.
And just him hitting a three means you got to respect him.
It kind of opens things up a little more.
He's been, I mean, he had like seven rebounds the other night.
He's been really valuable.
He did, but man, he kills you on defense.
He does.
He does.
He can shoot.
And I give him credit.
He has rebounded pretty well.
But against, you know, when we're playing in the non-conference,
I actually thought he did a pretty good job playing defense.
But now that he's playing these big athletic SEC bigs,
he just really struggles to guard.
So we'll see.
Vandy, I give us a shot.
I'm not very confident about Arkansas.
Same.
But there's been a couple times in the last, what, eight years,
we've gone down to Arkansas thinking we had no shot in one.
Yes.
Remember that one year Antonio Reeves scored like 40 down there.
but different time obviously now who's next bill bill go ahead bill hey just a comment and question
playing off of the Arkansas game you know they're their their their big men play so rough at this
point do you think it's a time where you want to try to put quaintons back in or do you think
our big men are getting such a rhythm with marino playing good on defense and yelovich
you know really put it or really putting in the offense do you think we just need to leave it alone
You know, the, the, Quaintance to me, it's not about who we play.
It's about just, does he want to play at Kentucky?
And Ryan, I don't know the answer to that.
Do you?
No.
And the more it drags out, the more he sits, the more maybe unlikely he's even going to make it return to the team.
Is that scoop or scuttlebutt?
Just my own opinion.
I just feel like, you know, with this team, is kind of finding themselves a little bit,
and he's just been sitting over there.
I think the more it drags on, the more less likely we're going to see him.
Apparently, the announcer's name is also James.
Yes, Jamie.
All right, so I've just sent you, Shannon, what someone tells me his number is.
Okay.
Now, one person writes, Matt, my friend Larry, said the guy that Taze Ryan is also a preacher.
Wait, the guy that Taze him is a preacher?
He's a school resource officer and a preacher on the weekends.
This is just what this person says.
I don't know.
I hope that's true.
You know, it just adds to the whole thing.
The person that's going to know is Jamie the announcer.
See, the announcer's name is what?
Jamie Hughes, is that right?
Jamie Hughes and James Sandlin.
Which one's the announcer?
I don't know.
That was the broadcast team.
I would like to get, well, I'll take either one of them,
but I'd like to have the play-by-play guy.
So I don't know which one I have the number of.
What I just said, you Shannon.
Okay, I'll try them in the break here.
Either James or Jamie.
Okay.
So they're both named James and Jamie?
Jamie Hughes and James Sandlin.
That's the broadcast team.
And then one of them is Justin.
They don't have a lot of variety of names in Nott County.
You've got to start with the J to be on the broadcast team.
Justin is the dad of the Car Creek kid.
Okay.
So when they say go get Justin, that's because the dad, is he the dad that punched or the dad that not got punched?
Not sure.
Okay.
All right.
You need a whole map to decipher this in Nott County.
8.59-28027.
Hopefully we'll get this guy right for this.
T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney.
Call T.J. He'll make them pay.
Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.
There's a great version of this song, Shannon.
The Avid brothers were playing in Louisville the night after Toby Keith died.
Yeah.
And they did a version of this song, which you wouldn't think the Avid brothers would sing Toby Keith.
Right.
But they did, and I love it.
It's on TikTok.
And, like, you can see the Louisville, the big building in the background.
And I just think it's very cool.
Let's check it out.
Yeah.
Because I like this song.
I think it's a good song.
Now, we found it, right?
Yes, yeah, we got.
So, join us on the phone.
This is James Spradlin.
He is the announcer for James.
Do you do, tell me who you do games for.
Hometown Sports Corner.
Homestead.
So do you do games all around the region?
Yeah, we do them high school, grade schools, college games.
We do a little bit of broadcasting all over Eastern Kentucky.
So explain to me the scene.
Tell me what the game is, what's going on, etc.
that led up to the clip.
It's the middle school, the Knox County 18 middle school,
grade school basketball championship.
Oh, it's a championship.
So, you know, it is the grade school, you know,
championship to end the season.
Okay.
And this is Emelina and Car Creek.
Where were we in the game when this happened?
About, I don't know, maybe a third of the way through the fourth quarter.
Okay.
Now, did I hear there was a fight before this?
Yeah, there was a fight that was about two or three minutes into the first quarter.
And what happened?
So there was an obligation that occurred between two kids underneath the goal.
The officials handled it well, ejected both, you know, both players.
out of the game.
And both, you know, the administration took over and sat right behind her with the benches
and the ball game proceeded on.
So this is clearly, this is a rivalry that has some heat to it, right?
There had already been one fight.
So this is a chippy group, am I right?
Well, I don't know about chippy.
It's just, you know, it's one of those, just a championship ball game.
Everything is on the line.
You know, there is no tomorrow in these things.
You don't make it to a championship game
I want to lose.
Everybody's in there wanting to win.
And so, you know, when winning comes about the competitive spirit, right.
That's right.
Now, the video starts.
It looks like there's a fight between two kids.
Does one of them tackle another one?
Is that what happens?
Yeah, there's one on.
But, yeah, what's what led up to the fight was that two kids just got an altercation
and ended up on the floor.
Now, you tell me what's going through your mind is play,
back play guys, you're watching this.
Man, you know, you're sitting here and you're watching a ball game and, you know,
if you did any play by play, you're following the ball up the court.
And so Car Creek's coming up the floor and this occurs just off camera to start with.
And it comes in camera and then, you know, with the coaches and administration to start
with did a really good job.
They was out on the floor within just probably three or four seconds to try to break this
fight up.
and then, you know, when kids hurt.
And, of course, at that time, you don't know that anybody's hurt.
You've just got two young men out here.
And I want to say that both of them is great young men to be around.
It's just that competitive spirit leads to what happened on the floor.
And then the administration comes out, and then the school resource officers come out,
and then the parents come out, and that's what led up to it.
So what happened with, okay, so who, you don't give us.
his full name because we don't need to do that. But who is Ryan to all this? Is this somebody's
parent? Yeah, he's one of the players' parent. And the thing is, he's one of the quietest,
most homeless guys you'll ever meet in your life. He's a, he's a super, super good guy. Yeah.
Yeah, I mean, it's, uh, he's just, uh, he's one of those guys that just that you like to be around.
He just does it easy cause any, why did they tase him? Obviously, he's, he's, he's, he. Obviously,
the events that was unfolding, you know, and it looks to appear like he keeps going around trying
to stay involved in that, whether it's not, whether he is or not, that's up to the law
enforcement, you know, I'm just sitting there still amazed at all this stuff that's going on
because there's stuff going on off camera that you can't see amongst players and parents.
And it's a...
Oh, so there's, wait a minute, there are other fights.
going on off camera?
Well, I won't say fights, but yeah, I mean, there's, there's, you know, Malvin,
there's parents going back and forth on this thing, just like you would expect, you know,
you've got a fight on the floor amongst parents, or amongst players, you've got a fight
amongst parents on the floor.
You've got both schools who's sitting right with each other.
And so things, things get heated in those events, it just keeps continuing getting heated.
So who did the tasing?
Who tased?
The not County Sheriff's Office.
Not County Sheriff's Office.
When you see the tase, the thing that made this thing go viral is you very calmly just said they just tased right.
You said it, James, like this happens all the time.
Well, all right, so let me give you a little bit of background.
I retired with a state lease for 25 years.
Okay.
So when you go, that's the background.
You know, most people don't know.
And so when you go into those situations, I guess in 25 years, you learned to expect the unexpected.
And so that's not to be expected at a ballgame.
And so when it happens, you know, when you've done it for 25 years, you kind of expect to happen what you don't expect to happen.
And so when it happened, it's just one of those things.
So you're not easily rattled.
You're saying you're not easily rattled.
Like you're used to seeing people get tased.
Well, I won't say getting tased, but yeah, I mean, I'm used to seeing people in heated moments doing things that they don't usually do.
And then this is just one of those situations where both gentlemen that was in this fighter, too, I consider them good friends, and I would do anything in the world for either one of them.
And it's one of those events, you know, you got fight amongst kids, the second one of the game.
Yeah.
The competitiveness of the whole situation is going on, and then, you know, you get broke up.
And I don't know if y'all ever been in a fight or not, but should people start grabbing a hold of you?
You don't necessarily maybe know who's got a hold of you.
So you're trying to even in a fight, so you're trying to get away from whoever's got a hold of you.
And things just led up to where they just tays right.
Yeah.
And then.
They just tased right.
I mean, that's the way it went down.
That's what happens.
I mean, it just happens.
They just tased right.
So now let me ask you, James.
All of a sudden, this happens.
And then like the next day, next night, it takes off.
Like, all of a sudden, you're on, they just tased Ryan.
It's all over the internet.
It's on news sites.
When did you realize that this thing had exploded?
Oh, man, probably about midday to the following evening, I guess.
and then, you know, this thing, it's,
and then last night, I think it was, my phone blew up
because inside the NBA on ESPN, it's on KSR,
it's on all this stuff,
and it's everybody in the world,
even people you haven't talked to in 20 years con,
you're going to do, dude, you're famous.
Like, this thing is blowing up.
And, you know, I will tell everybody this.
You know, it's one of those situations,
and as broadcasters, you all have been there before,
where it's happened, you said it, you went on, you know, it's one of those events that you've covered,
but you feel so bad because you did cover it.
Why do you feel bad?
I feel bad because everybody involved in this thing is such good people.
And that's what makes the situation, you know, even worse.
But are you able to step back, though, and say,
inside the NBA, Charles Barkley,
Shaquille O'Neill, O'Neill,
Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith,
they quoted me.
Are you able to step back and, like,
think that's kind of cool?
Oh, no, I said that last night,
like, even as horrible a situation
that he is never in my life
that I ever think I'd be quoted on ESPN
or KSR or, you know,
all these different outlets.
I mean, I'm getting messages from people out of Michigan,
Washington State all over the country wanting to a statement.
But you want to sit back and be honest with you and say,
all right, let me soak this in for a minute.
Yeah.
Because, like I said, you, I mean, it is probably one of the funniest lies
that's ever been saying, but it wasn't meant to be.
No, that's why it's great, though.
It's great because you're being serious.
Yeah, and so, you know,
then you've got all these great people that's involved in this.
And so it's just one of those situations that I wanted to step back.
take my time before I even talked about it
and say, okay, you know, it's happened.
I said it.
These people are great people that eventually
they're going to get through this.
But yeah, when everybody, when you're all talking about it,
my phone blew up this morning saying KSR is trying to get a hold of you by about.
I mean, literally in five minutes I had 63 text messages.
Wow.
That said KSR is trying to get a hold of you.
They're going to be calling you.
And so it's an unfortunate event.
But yeah, this thing as went crazy.
Let me say this to you.
I think you actually, you seem like a really good man.
And let me say one thing.
I appreciate you saying all these people are involved.
Sometimes it's really quick.
When something happens, we all just make generalizations about folks,
and we don't remember that they're actually people.
And I'm glad you said that.
And I hope you also take a chance to really sit back and enjoy that,
that like people
people love something you said, right?
Because you were being serious.
You do care about those.
And they just tase Ryan is like going to be a line forever.
And you did that, James.
And I hope you are able to get some joy from it.
Well, I appreciate that you know,
and a lot of it is the fact that it was followed up.
Well, this game is now over.
You know, there's a lot of,
which I said, like I said, I enjoy it.
feel bad for the people that's involved, but I do enjoy it.
You know, you hear all kinds of things going through that is, you know, get Justin, get Justin, get Justin.
And by the time I could have got Justin, it was too late.
Who's Justin?
By the way, who is Justin?
He's another parent of one of the players that was playing basketball.
And he was sitting beside me the whole ball game.
Once again, he's a super good dude.
I mean, there have been lifelong friends, both of them.
and I feel bad about this situation,
but at the end of the day,
Ryan got Taze and the game's over.
Exactly right.
Sir, thank you very much for coming on.
James Brattle, we appreciate it.
Thank you, fellas.
Y'all have a good evening.
All right, there you go.
Loved, loved, loved, loved that.
That's the best of right there to have him on.
That was awesome.
At the end of the day, Shannon,
Ryan got Taze and the game was over.
That's all you can say.
See you.
And they just tell you, grind.
We'll take a break and be right back, KSR.

And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.

We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker walks up to me, he goes,
Hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue with 42.
A rep, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Where's she at?

They had a bogo.
Well, then you got it.
Do you want a white collar or something here?
Just hit it.
Oh, what are y'all doing?
Microphones?
Are you making a rap album?
Oh, I would.
Come on.
Can you move?
I would buy it.
Cuts through the defense like a hot knife through sponge cake.
That sounds delicious.
Oh, you're lucky.
I'm not a drug addict.
You're lucky.
I'm not an alcoholic.
You are.
You are.
You're lucky.
I'm not a killer.
I love this team, and I'm really trying to be a figure in their lives that they can rely on.
Oh.

Welcome back, Tuggy Sports Radio.
I like James Sandlin there.
Seems like a good fella, doesn't he?
I love the fact that he's a retired Kentucky straight trooper.
So he's like, you know, I've been through this before.
it's no big deal for me.
It explains why he wasn't fazed very much.
It was also an opportunity for Ryan to tell him to kiss his butt
since he wanted to tell police officers that about shoveling his sidewalk there.
I mean, I imagine anybody from Knox County. No, sir.
Baby Ann, don't let aches and pains fall in the new year.
Start 2026 strong.

Go to court.com or call court and get an appointment today.
This show today, by the way, is exactly why I love local radio.
Like, I really enjoy doing ESPN.
Don't get me wrong.
I do it.
I like it.
And they over the years have let me kind of make that show more my thing than they used to.
But at the end of the day, you know, Shannon, you still have to talk about like Sam
Darnold.
Right.
You know, and like, who can't?
hairs really yeah but like you have to i have to do it and i have to have strong opinions about
sam dartle and i don't have strong opinions but i have to act like i do but local radio just think
about today we've talked about snow ordinances and how ryan refuses to shovel the snow in front
of his house and is asking the police to come and get him we've talked about weather uh contest
amongst local weathermen we've had tg shuck on we've talked about whether or not we should
should boo a kid from Kentucky.
And then we had this happen in Not County and we got the announcer on 15 minutes later.
It's been a full show today.
It has been a full show today. And I would much rather hear all those things than your thoughts on Sam
Darnold.
Exactly.
That's my point.
Like I've always said, this is what people actually would rather hear, in my opinion.
And Ryan, this is an example of why I like doing local radio.
That's why I love about this show, man.
You never know which way it's going to go.
And here we are.
We're all stuck in our home with ice and snow,
but yet we're enjoying ourselves and having a laugh for a couple hours.
That's what it's all about.
That is what it's all about.
And there's a guy outside that has got a broom or a brush,
and he is brushing off his car.
No.
Yes, he is.
A brush.
I want to know what kind of brush you've got to give him brushing your car with.
Think about they have them.
You can get them with cars.
I think people sometimes may use them to clean wheels.
You know what I'm talking about?
like a okay you see what i'm saying do you know what yeah can you picturing it it's that
that's what i was using okay okay and it works like a like a little mini broom or something right
it's it looks like the the the i don't know what you call what do you call the things coming out
of a broom the straw straw what is it at the bottom of the broom what's that called that stuff
wicks
yeah
thistle
I don't know
I don't see
you don't know
what it's called
either whatever that is
it's like that
except it's hand sized
and you just do it
with your hand
okay yeah
that's what I was using
to get out of
to do it
and then I'm hoping
I'm going to try
to move my car
this afternoon
I don't know if it's going to
good luck
I'm going to try
you're going to need
more than a little
brush to get it out
I've got my feet
who's up next
let's go ahead Steve
Steve go ahead Steve
Hey guys. I just want to say today's show along with the weather challenge,
congrats to TG Shuck. But I love all my weather guys. But combining this challenge with what was
just on about the elementary basketball. And keep in mind, we're talking fifth graders in this. So
that's what makes this show cutting edge. That's why people listen every day or least part of the morning
because you don't know what you're going to get.
Thank you very much.
A genius as far as marketing.
I hope you do the weather challenge again every time.
It looks like a major event to the weather guys to kind of get behind them is this storm had a lot of movement parks.
And timing was everything at 20 miles here and there.
And so things changed in a hurry from a foot of snow to nothing.
But that was great.
have one basketball thing.
Go for it.
Maybe Ryan can answer this.
They hawthorn kid.
I think they should, I guess he's got a calf injury, but if it gets that taking
care of any time soon, my opinion is burn the darn thing.
He's apparently a pretty good offensive basketball player and offense is what we need.
I think to me, there's no better way to learn basketball than playing in a basketball game.
Totally.
I agree with you.
I have to cut you off, but thank you very much because we got to end the show.
But thank you.
That's very kind words, and I appreciate it.
Hawthorne, Pope says, is hurt, Ryan.
That's crazy.
Even our red shirts are hurt, unfortunately.
Yeah, I don't think anybody knew that after the game on Saturday.
He said we can't burn a red shirt because he's hurt right now.
No sense doing that when he's not even going to be able to play at all.
They did say, though, he might be available so they would wait and see.
I kind of read that as if they get one more injury, then maybe they would do it.
I think that's a strong possibility we'll see him.
by the end of the year.
Oh, is that scoop or scuttlebutt?
No, just my opinion.
Again.
Is that scuttlebut or is it just your opinion?
My, just totally my opinion.
Oh, that's interesting.
Feels like that was very strong.

Duke and Louisville play tonight.
Duke's an eight and a half point favorite in Cameron.
Who you got, Ryan?
Duke, Duke to cover.
Louisville's still kind of struggling a little bit right now.
Played all right this weekend.
Who you got you got?
I'm with you, Ryan.
I think not only Duke wins, they cover the eight and a half.
Let's say Duke wins, but I'm going to say Louisville covers the eight.
Yeah.
I think they're Brown's back, and I think they'll play well.
I think Duke will win, but I think they'll play well.
Give me Louisville to cover the eight and a half.
Guys, it was fun today.
By the way, Drew just, he can't get anywhere.
So he couldn't get to Ryan's and he couldn't get to the studio, so that's why he's there.
I'll probably still be here in Louisville tomorrow, but the game is tomorrow night, of course.
We'll see you later.
This has been Kentucky Sports Radio.
