One of the biggest misconceptions about buying a home right now is that you have to wait for the perfect moment.
Perfect rates, perfect timing, perfect market.
The truth is, that moment doesn't really exist.
A lot of buyers pause because of headlines or assumptions.
But every situation is different.
Race change.
Market shift.
And personal goals matter just as much as what's happening nationally.

Welcome to Hour 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio,
presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Now here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back.
It is hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio,
859-280-2287.
text machine is 7-7-7-4-5-25-4.
People writing in with some questions.
Let's go through them real quick.
What best rights, Matt?
Did you and Drew get up this morning and watch Novak Djokovic turn back time and beat Center?
I saw like the last point.
But apparently huge, huge, he is turning back time.
Yonovich Jokovic beats Yonik Center, Drew.
And what is, I mean, you wouldn't think for people who don't follow it.
That doesn't seem like an upset because people know Jokovic.
but he's old and hadn't won like this in a long time.
Yeah, I wasn't tuned in live, but he got the young guy,
and Alcarez won a thriller too.
So it's Australia.
Had a lot of good tennis late in the night and early morning last night.
This came down to last set and last point.
He had a big winter after going down.
The problem with the Australian Open is it's overnight,
and I'm always asleep, so it's hard to know what's going on.
It does feel like, does it ever feel to you like a different life,
Drew when we were tennis journalists?
It does, and I miss it from time to time.
We knew when we were in it that tennis people have the easiest job in the world because
the matches are so long, so you just sit there in joy.
There's not a lot to say, and then you write your recap, and there's not a lot of in-depth
analysis in tennis, and you're going to like the nicest places ever to watch.
So the people that got on the tennis beat, they know what they're doing.
I think we knew when we were in it, it was ridiculous that we were in it, too, because we
really didn't.
I mean, we really didn't know what we were doing.
But the fact that they would send us and, Shannon, we stayed in the nicest hotel.
Like, we stayed in, like, the plaza in New York.
Yeah, the Waldorf, which just reopened and is now the most expensive hotel.
Yeah, we stayed, like, literally in the Waldorf for, like, two straight weeks, just me and Drew in this insanely nice hotel.
Well, you played tennis, so I guess, you know, you qualified.
You played tennis before.
I mean, I did, but, like, it didn't come into play with what we were doing.
Is that the word the guy that was like the slash slash slash guy?
Slash slash.
Slash slash.
Yeah.
Slash slash slash.
Slash slash.
He still does it, by the way.
Does he really?
He still does it.
I see his stuff on social media.
He still doesn't.
He didn't like that Drew and I were, you know, were credential.
Now, he came around and by the end he was nice to us, but he was slash slash.
He's going to slash slash you guys out of there.
That's right.
He's very serious.
I didn't have a lot to say about the matches, so I'm asking the players what was on their
iPod or why were you drinking a Diet Coke in the middle of the match?
And then, you know, he just wants to nerd out over points and sets, and I don't think he liked
our brand coming in there.
But it's also crazy.
Like, you probably get closer, Ryan, to famous athletes in tennis than anywhere else.
I mean, Drew and I shared an elevator with Nadal and talked to him.
I had Federer on the post game show.
We interviewed Serena.
We interviewed Venus Williams.
Like those are very famous people.
And Drew and I were just like, hey, what's up?
You know, like, it's kind of crazy that we did that.
Didn't you say, I think, at one point,
that the athletes were much more friendlier than the media that were covering the athlete?
Some.
What I learned about tennis is the better the player, generally speaking, the nicer they were.
It was the guys that sucked, Drew, that were always the biggest jerks.
We always talk about the worst athlete I've ever met for being a jerk was a tennis player, Jack Sock.
Do you remember him, Drew?
Oh, of course.
He was the worst.
What was his name?
I mean, the worst, Jack Sock.
He was American, and he was kind of coming up.
He was supposed to be a star, and his name was Jack Sock.
What did he do?
I just every time we ran to him he was if he'd do something else jerky he was just this like whiny dude who clearly had been privileged his entire life he'd throw rackets in the match non-stop yeah he'd yell at everybody I just did not we did not like jack sock
he was the top-ranked american so we wanted to like him and we go to his first match we're like we're supposed to like this guy and what was the guy's name that we like so much evo carlovick i'm missing yeah wow good memories uh one
person writes, Matt, are any of you all going this weekend to see the Melania Trump
documentary? Well, I mean, you can guess that I'm not.
Are you going to go, Ryan?
No.
First I've heard about it.
There's a documentary on a lot of channel.
They spent $75 million making it.
And it's going to open in theaters.
I think so, yeah.
I think it's on in Lexington and Louisville.
Wow.
I don't, I mean, I, I don't.
Actually, as much as I don't like her husband, I don't mind her.
But I also don't know, Shannon, is she interesting?
I guess we're going to find out.
Maybe that's the whole point of this movie to see if she is.
Or they're going to try to make her look that way.
Movies can make anybody look interesting.
You think so?
No, yeah.
I mean, I don't have any, I don't find her objectionable.
I also just don't find her.
Like, what does she do?
Well, we're about to find out.
No spoilers.
Yeah.
I do think it would be fascinating.
I'm sure they don't show this.
I think it would be fascinating to watch their relationship.
Mm-hmm.
You know?
I think that's what you're going to see in this.
I'm guessing, I mean, from what I've seen in the trailer.
I would be interested, but I would be interested to see, like, does she really like him, like, for real?
Well, like, like, like, really?
Like, are you really, like, are they really like?
Well, you know what I'm talking about.
Oh, yeah, I wonder about a lot of couples.
Like, do they really like each other?
Or they're not for the moment.
I do wonder about that.
So if they got to that, I might want to see it.
Kentucky is the fourth biggest consumer rind in the country of Mountain Dew,
according to Mountain Dew.
They said yesterday that Kentucky is fourth in total Mountain Dew consumed,
not even per capita, just total Mountain Dew,
which when you consider how small we are is pretty good.
Ohio consumes the most Mountain Dew.
It seems like Mountain Dew is kind of a Midwesterns.
southern thing. Indiana is second, and we are fourth.
Bullitt County played a huge part of this. Taylor County apparently
did too. Last week we were in Campbellsville, they brought donuts and Mountain Dew.
We were going to be seventh, but Bullet County's returns came in late, and we got all the
way up to four. What do you think of right about us being the fourth biggest consumer of
Mountain Dew? I got to be honest, I was a little shocked. I thought for sure we'd be a runaway
number one winner. If you grow up in certain parts of this state, you grew up
drinking mountain dew not milk
did you not formula mountain
dew only bullet county
no you say that
no formula i haven't drank it
mountain dew and baby bottles full of
mountain dew not formula
they did not give them formula no
they gave them mountain dew so
congrats to the state of kentucky
now are you all ready to
play we play this game every year
if you were a kentucky state
legislator oh i love this
you are the legislature you are the
legislature, you three, here's the bill that is before you, because this was voted on yesterday
in the committee in the Kentucky legislature. It is a bill that allows judges to give nonviolent
offenders. So this is mostly drug offenses, although it could be other things, but nonviolent
offenders, to have a factor that allows them to get probation instead of prison time to be
whether or not they have a child. I'm going to present you the argument on.
both sides. The people in favor of the bill say that when parents go to jail for drug stuff,
it ends up having a negative impact on both the parent because they don't get to be with their kid,
but also the child who may then have to go with another family member or maybe even into like foster
care or something because their only parent is in jail. And the idea would be that if the person will test
clean that they can get probation instead of prison time so they can watch their children.
The people against it say you're creating a two-tiered legal system where if you have a child,
you can get probation, but if you don't have a child, you don't.
And essentially, it's not fair because you're making justice depend on whether or not you had a
child and also potentially encouraging people with children to use drugs because they're
have a better chance of being on probation instead of jail time.
So that is the bill, basically.
Which side would you be on?
I'll let Drew go first.
This is a tough one.
Kids, you know, they don't pick their parents.
And as you said, they would be very affected by this,
changed their whole life.
But at the same time,
I don't know about lowering accountability just because you have a kid.
I'm going to lean towards whatever you did.
it needs to be across the board
to punish you're going to say no
you can't consider the fact that they're on the fly
maybe maybe I can hear another argument
but right now that's my immediate reaction
all right Ryan I need to ask you one question
okay so for to get the probation
they have to test clean right every time
yes everyone who gets probation has to do that
yes so that the assumption would be that at the moment
they are clean I'm going that route 100%
because I've been around a lot of these kids, and it does, man.
It affects you, and you end up in the foster care system, and that affects you.
If mom or dad can stay clean, they absolutely need to be there for their kids.
So I would want that bill to pass.
All right.
We're at 1-1.
That means Shannon Grigsby, Republican or no, independent.
Independent from Bullitt County.
Yep.
We'll be casting the deciding vote.
Where are you going?
I would say, and as you said, there are a lot of the,
cases are drug-related cases. If you're a parent doing drugs, you're not a very good parent to begin
with. I say we have to treat this all across the board exactly the same. I don't care if you're a
parent or not. There are probably a lot of people who have drug problems adopting kids just as an
insurance policy. So I think that regardless, if you have a kid or not, we treat you all the same.
No probation. You're going to prison. So the bill has passed in KSR, or excuse me, has failed in KSR committee
two to one.
Now would you like to know what actually happened in the real legislature?
Yes.
In committee, okay, so it hasn't been voted on by the full legislature.
It actually passed six to one, which is a little bit of a surprise to me.
Now, one person who voted for it, he gave a quote, Drew, that made it sound like he was against it even though he voted for it.
This is state senator Philip Wheeler.
I bring him up.
I brought him up on this show before because I went to college with you.
him and if you had asked me shannon everyone i went to college with at trancy who's the one person
you would want to be in the state senate at the least i would have picked philipa i'm not
kidding you no i'm sure he's a decent guy now but in college he would say things that would
i was like i cannot believe a human being believes this now i get i don't know what he believes now
i haven't seen him in years but he's a state center from pipebo here's what he's
said, let's just say hypothetically I'm a drug addict. You're a drug addict, but you have two kids and I don't.
You're going to be eligible for a program that keeps you out of the clink. While myself,
who arguably is more responsible because I didn't bring a bunch of people into this world on social services and everything else,
I got to go to jail, but you don't. He voted for it. We are basically saying, because I can't have,
because I don't have any kids, I'm better than you. He actually takes an argument,
that I think is even I wouldn't make.
Yeah, it's an interesting take.
But he ended up voting for the bill.
He voted for the bill.
He said all that, which, like, why would you give that quote if you're going to vote for it?
I don't think he even knows what he voted for.
It doesn't sound like to me.
That's why I didn't want him to be in the States Senate when I was in Transylvania.
Matt, I'm curious what you would have voted.
I would have, see, I actually think it's a really tough question because my sympathies are with Ryan.
I think in general we put too many.
people in jail, like, we put, jail is our cure for too many things.
And so, in general, I'm for drug court and things that are non-jail-related things.
I do, however, think that creating any sort of two-tier justice system is just at its fundamental
nature not fair.
So I don't like that.
I don't like creating a two-tier justice.
What I would do is say, why not what you're doing for the parents here do, do
for everyone, Shannon.
Yeah.
Right.
If you think a parent should be able to go on probation,
then clearly you don't think the crime itself needs jail time or you would put them in jail, right?
So whatever it is you're allowing them, I would give everyone that opportunity.
So you sound like you're kind of on the side of Drew and I.
No, I'm actually gone.
I would say I would amend the bill to give everyone that opportunity.
But you're treating everybody the same.
I think it's important you treat everybody the same because I don't.
It's not about, I'm not like Philip.
It's not about incentives to have kids.
It's just about, I don't like things in law that enshrine that we treat people differently based on characteristics.
I just don't like that, especially in the criminal justice system.
That's just my view.
So I would, if I had to, I'd probably vote for it, but I'd want to amend it to include everybody.
So if I had to vote, it'd be two, two, and we'd be tied.
Well, that's not what happened, though.
They should work in, like, the person has to be the prime.
primary caretaker, too.
Like, if you're like a solo parent, there could be a little more leniency.
I think that's actually a really good.
But if, like, if mom or dad is still home to take care of the kid, I don't think you should get anything special.
That's a reasonable point.
All right.
So there you go.
The Kentucky legislature of KSR has spoken.
Has been adjourned.
Tell me about Stock to Mortgage.
Stock to mortgage.
You know, we talked about the spring buying season coming up and it started a little early this year.
So time to get started.
Get pre-approved now.
If you're thinking about maybe buying this spring or this summer, get pre-approved right now.
So when you go see those houses,
you're kind of ahead of maybe the other guy when you make your offer.
So go to Stockton.com.
You'll pay you up with a loan officer.
You'll stay with that same loan officer throughout the entire process.
They make it easy as possible because the mortgage process can be a hassle.
A lot of paperwork, a lot of W-2s, a lot of income information you got to supply.
Just be patient.
They'll get to the closing table, get you the keys of that new house, and that's what's all about.
So go to stockton.com, NMLS, 8259, Equal Housing Lender, NMLS, Equal Access.
Dot org.
Back to you, Matt.
One person writes, Matt, if my name was Jack Sock, I'd probably have pent up anger, too.
Can you imagine what it was like growing up being named Jack Sock?
Yeah, it probably wasn't easy to be fair.
This was a podcast.
I'd have a lot more to say.
We'll take a break and be right back.

Welcome back.
Kentucky Sports Radio, 859-280-2287.
Text machine full of lots of varied opinions on the probation bill.
Shannon, not a lot of varied opinions on Philip Wheeler.
Everybody across the board.
agree. I think the people that know, you know, they know. Although again, he may be, I haven't
talked to him in years. He may be, he may be a good guy now. I don't know. But in college,
I would not have put him in the wheels of governments. Who's up next? Let's go to Mark.
Mark, go ahead, Mark.
Afternoon, gentlemen.
Afternoon. First off, congratulations on the, congratulations on the ratings.
Thank you, sir.
about if somebody could snap their fingers and have cow back,
if I was able to snap my fingers and the choice was to get cow back or keep hope,
I would just cut my hand off.
Let's keep hope.
We'll be fine and we'll be fine and we'll keep fighting.
Well, we are going to keep fighting.
This is a no, well, I appreciate the call.
Do you think this is a no-lose game Saturday, Ryan?
Like, I mean, no one's expecting us to win.
Arkansas, I think, is a seven and a half point favorite right now.
maybe a no lose win if you play well you play like you did against vanderbilt i'm not going to be happy
i expect him to lose but it's the way you lost vandy that made me so upset so you can't play that way
you can't get run i do think drew fans if we get blown off the court by cow kind of for a second
straight year because he kind of did it last year too that's not going to be good for mark would you
agree oh i would definitely agree and part of it it's not even that it's cal and i know cow's right in front
I made this analogy recently, but it's like Cal's in my neighborhood wanting attention, but my house is on fire.
And I got to worry about me right now.
Like we have so many problems with our own team.
I can't even worry about Cal taunting us and mocking us having his moment because we are so bad right now.
And I'm worried about next year and is Pope going to work and where are we going to find a recruit that Arkansas is kind of, I mean, yes, it's right in front of us.
We've got to play the game and I want to win, but it's win or lose.
I'm still going to have the same concerns on Sunday morning probably.
What did you think about Cal saying that Mark was the perfect person for the job, Shannon?
I'm starting to doubt and sincerity of him saying that.
Remember, he used to say that about Mark Fox all the time in Georgia.
Yeah, he used to beat him all the time.
I feel like he's kind of saying that as a jab.
Like, hey, keep him there.
Yeah, he's the perfect guy for the job.
Did you see what Cal did today?
What did he do?
I got to pat him on the back on this one.
He sent Kenny Payne into the press conference.
No, he didn't.
Yep.
No, he didn't.
That's got to be intentional.
Before the Kentucky game?
Yeah.
I got at least tip the cap on that.
And that's a nice troll move there, John.
By the way, I gave Billy Shannon the ability to pick the co-host of the post-game show tomorrow night because I can't be there.
Okay.
So I told you, well, actually, I said to him, I'd like you to ask Maggie Davis.
So hopefully she could do it.
But if Maggie can't do it, I decided to let Billy pick amongst whoever.
and Maggie is my choice, but if for some reason Maggie can't do it,
his judgment is on the line, Shannon.
Oh, yeah.
And there's a lot of people he could go to.
He could.
But I told him not Ryan and Drew, all right, because they've got other ones to do.
And we'll see what he comes up.
Don't call me.
You're out?
It could be an ugly post-game show.
Well, that's why I thought someone nice like Maggie would be a,
It would be a good.
I've got other things to do,
other than drowning that sorrow.
Who's next?
Another Mark.
Mark, go ahead, Mark.
Hey, what's going on, Matt?
What's up?
I think you made a real good point about our offense right now
is look like Lake Cal without talented players.
But I'm going to ask you a question real quick.
I actually got two points real quick.
If you go back like a year, over this year and a half,
it's where Buzzie's gotten their tenure,
who's had a more successful tenure?
year and over this year and a half.
You were talking about between Cal and Pope?
Yeah, yeah.
Well, I mean, this year so far, it's Cal.
Last year, I actually think it was Pope because they went the same in the tournament
and Pope had a better regular season.
So it just depends on, you know.
Even though he lost the Cal, right?
Yeah, but I mean, remember, they barely made the tournament.
You know, they had to win.
they had to go on a streak at the end of the year even to make the tournament.
They were, when they beat us in Rupp Arena last year, remember,
they came into that game one and six in the conference.
Right, right.
Hey, my last point, and actually this is kind of a controversial point,
because I know when Mark came on, we talked about we want to play for the name on the front
of the jersey as opposed to the back of the jersey.
And I actually think I look at totally different.
I actually think the guys that we have right now are playing for the back of the jersey.
I'm going to tell you why I think that.
when guys the players cow brought in their ultimate goal was to get to the NBA most of these guys right here don't think they're going to make it to the NBA they want this money grab that they're going to get they know they're never it's never going to get any better than it is right here at UK and I think they're playing they're happy to be here we got a bunch of average to above average guys who are just happy to be here right now yeah but that but I don't think that's I don't think that's a fair because you might be right about that but like that argument doesn't make logical sense.
Those dudes need to play harder than anybody because, you know, the whole they're happy to be here, that should make them want to embrace.
Yeah, but I hate that argument.
There's a lot of dudes out there, man, a lot of dudes across college basketball that are making money and playing their ass off.
If our guys aren't, that's on those guys and on our coaching staff.
But the idea that making money makes you not want to work hard is insane.
insane.
Because everything.
They've reached their ultimate goal, though, man.
But then how do you explain the guys at Purdue?
How do you explain the guys at Purdue that are not going to play in the NBA and they're playing their tail off?
How do you explain that?
How do you explain the guys?
That goes back to the coaching staff.
Now, that's what you go back.
You and I agree with the coaching, but you're acting like the idea of getting paid makes you not want to play.
These other teams are getting paid.
They're playing hard.
I mean, Diabate, he gives it, he gives his best.
That's one guy.
We need guys who are going to play hard.
It's not because of the money.
We'll be right back.
T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney.
Call T.J. He'll make them pay.
Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.
It's my favorite Arkansas song.
Top three Tom T. Hall song.
It always makes me think about writing my book because we would,
Chris Tomlin and our interns and I,
we would drive around the state listening to this.
always brings back good memories.
859-280-2287.
Text machine 772-7-4-5-254.
One person writes, Matt, I think everybody owes Ryan an apology,
especially after yesterday when Mark Pope said
Jaden Quaintz had been completely shut down on on-court activities.
You're getting closer to being right, Ryan.
You said it's the first SEC game.
I hated.
I was kind of hoping in the back of my mind.
he would come back and maybe play a little bit,
but the more of this drags out,
the more highly unlikely we're ever going to see him again.
Are we going to see him again, Drew?
No.
We would have already seen him.
Is that definitive?
Yes.
When they say completely shut down on all on-court activities.
Anyway, I mean, we're going into February.
Going into February.
So it's like we're talking about November.
Yeah.
What about him saying he thinks that Cam Williams could come back?
That's fool's gold, too.
That ain't happening.
Yeah.
So you think you're just,
Unless you make it to the final four or something.
Do you think you're just kind of dangling this to try to keep people's hopes up?
I think so.
Yeah.
I mean, even if he's rehabilitated, he still has been off his feet for four or five weeks.
It would take a long time for him to get back into plain shape.
His dad has said that.
I like that his dad has that attitude.
You know, for years lately we were like, is this kid want to play?
Is he going to try to play?
What's in his head?
At least it sounds like Cam Williams is going to try.
Now, medically, it just doesn't seem possible given the timeline.
but I like that he's trying to be optimistic.
Yes.
One person writes, Matt, rank each of you rank the three players most likely to play for Kentucky next year in order one through three.
I'll go first.
Moreno one, Cam Williams, two, Colin Chandler three, and I would throw Jalen Lowe fourth.
That would be my order.
Ryan?
Do we get to count the red shirt guys?
No.
get to count Reese Potter.
Stop trying to throw him in there.
Oh, you can count.
No, I'm not putting him in because that's a probably yes.
So take him out.
The guys that are playing right now.
Well, I think you hit the three guys then.
I think Marino would definitely be at top the list.
I was going to say Colin Chandler, too.
Man.
Cam three or low three.
Or Trent Noah?
Who do you want?
I'm going to go Trent Noah.
Trent Noah three.
Yeah.
Okay.
What about you, Drew?
I had your three, Matt.
without thinking.
It came right to my head, but I'll switch the order.
I'll go Cam first because he's ending with the injury.
He didn't really do a whole lot this year,
so I don't know how big he'll be in the portal.
But there's an appreciation for him here, wanting to see more.
I think he wants to be here.
So I'll say him just because of how the year's ending.
Then I'll go Colin Chandler and then Marino.
Yeah, I would say if you said to me, Matt,
who do you think is playing at Kentucky next year?
those first three are the only three I feel confident in.
After that, I don't know.
I say low just because I don't know who the other option is.
But I also think there might be some fit issues.
But I know, so we'll see.
But I think those three will be back.
After that, who knows?
And I'm not sure.
This story is for Shannon.
Shannon, do you know who Senator Jim Justice is?
I don't think I do.
He's a senator from West Virginia.
He was the governor for a while.
You might have seen him.
He's a big man.
He's large.
Okay.
Okay.
Kind of.
He's just large.
I'm looking at him right now.
Looks like he'd be from West Virginia.
He's large and in charge.
He's large and in charge.
Used to be a Democrat, Swiss or Republican.
Seems to be pretty well liked in West Virginia.
Can't make his mind up.
He has a dog who he named his
dog baby dog
now is that a good name first of all for a dog to have dog
in the name of your dog no the dog's eating well too
it's the same dog i'm looking at right now it's a big dog would you name would you
name like like can you name a dog baby dog why wouldn't you just name it i feel like
it's weird to have dog in the name it'd be like naming it drew dog yeah we're just i mean
if i were gonna call it something just call it dog before i call it baby dog but i don't
think you would call it dog that's the name of this you don't call it like that'd be like
your first name being human
It's a very Elon Musk of you to name your dog dog.
Anyway, names baby dog.
It came out that Senator Jim Dutt, Justice, and Baby Dog, they work during the day at the office.
But at night, rather than go back, he shares an apartment in D.C. with someone else, like another senator.
So in order to get privacy, he has his own booth at Outback Steakhouse, where he goes and will sit and work.
from 6 o'clock to 10 o'clock, he and baby dog sit in a booth at Outback, and that's where he does his work.
It's a little weird.
First of all, I didn't know that Outback was pet friendly.
I didn't know you could bring.
And that's a big dog.
He just brings that dog in Outback.
And apparently they both sit on chairs.
Like, he's on one side of the boot.
I'm serious.
He's on one side of the boot.
share a blue and onion together.
Listen, you think I'm making this up.
He sits on one side and the dog sits on the other.
Drinking Foster's beer.
And it's just the two of them.
What an existence.
If you want to meet with him, if you want to meet with him, you have to go to the outback.
And hang out with baby dog.
And hang out with baby dog.
Sit on the side of the baby dog.
Drew, thoughts on that as an office space.
my first thought as a former server is going to work and you're like I got justice in that damn dog again taking up a table
he's sitting there all day asking for refills the dog's going to want water and I'm going to get in five dollars
so I think about that poor server who is losing a table for their whole day because jim just can't take his dog to an office like a normal person
what about Ryan do you like making outback your your workplace he's so full of crap he's not working he's watching ballgame drinking beer
Oh, you don't think he's working at all.
No, he's just sitting there hanging out, you get some social interaction.
He's not working.
He's watching a ball game on one of the TV.
I would think it would be very...
How many loaves of free bread is eating for sitting?
That's what I was exactly going to say.
I would think it would be very unhealthy to work it out back,
because you know you're just sitting there eating the bread the whole day.
You know, I was a server at Outback for about two months,
and I can't imagine having to take care of that guy and baby dog.
Baby dog.
Imagine working with him.
He passes you a bill.
his greasy boom and onion fingers are all over.
Like, is this ketchup on page 3?
Like, do you not have a place you can work?
Could you get your Alice Springs chicken off the bill, please?
It's Senate Bill 311.
Why is there a mustard stain?
Who's next?
Let's go to Will.
Will, go ahead, Will.
Hey, Matt, thanks for taking my call.
What's up?
Hey, I'm from Danville, Kentucky.
I wanted to give you a little Arkansas background. My wife and I moved to Arkansas to work for a
friend of mine about 12 years ago. We lived in Hot Springs, and you mentioned that it was a nice place.
It might have been a nice place in the early 60s, maybe late 60s, early 70s. It's a crappy place now.
There's also a town. There's a part of Hot Springs called Hot Springs Village, one of the biggest
retirement communities in America. We lived there with our two-year-old son for a while.
while. My wife stayed home with my son, and she would have cocktail hour every day with these
random old people starting about 3 o'clock. And it started to wear on her because I would come home
and I'd be like, well, Andrew, where's Nancy today? And she'd be like, oh, she died yesterday.
You know, so we kept losing our neighbors and our cocktail hour friends.
So we ended up moving back to Kentucky.
Why did you live in a retirement community, though? I mean, aren't you kind of setting yourself up for
that you all were young why did you move into a retirement community because there are multiple
lakes there and there are eight golf courses within the gate gated community and I'm a big golfer
so we'll live with the old people as long as I can play golf exactly and enjoy the lake and
one more thing about the lake area of hot springs goes back to bill Clinton when he was president
so there's two big lakes in hot springs one it's lake
Hamilton, I can't remember the other one, but they had a big rain event.
Clinton's family lived on Lake Hamilton, and they had to make a decision to open the flood
gates and flood the bottom lake so Clinton's family's homes wouldn't be destroyed in the flood.
Well, I understand.
I appreciate the call.
I can, you know, I always think about, we talked about this on this show before, Ryan,
when they would decide to flood these towns back in the day for, like,
Tennessee Valley Authority.
Like, how did they,
can you imagine if you just decided tomorrow,
we're flooding Barberville,
you're gone, get out.
Yeah, how do they pick?
People would lose their minds.
How would you pick one town over another town?
Back in the day, they would just tell people that you're out.
You got to get out.
Your town's gone.
Yep, we're getting rid of.
Like, nowadays, it's amazing to think that that happened
without, like, civil unrest.
So, like, Lake Cumberland is, like,
over on top of a couple cities over there.
No, there's a lot.
of towns in Kentucky that were flooded.
Yeah.
And people live there and they just said, get out.
Get out.
We're going to flood your town.
It's crazy to think about that.

Because people scoreboard watch.

He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue with 42.
Hey, Wreck, my mama want you to weigh better.
What?

Welcome back, Techie Sports Radio. Apparently when Jim Justice was the governor drew of West Virginia,
he would bring his dog, baby dog to all the press conferences. It would be him,
the sign language person and the dog.
I mean, you know I'm anti that.
I'm kind of with Billy on, like with Kirk Herb Street and the dog.
Like, it's fine if you just want me to see your dog.
But your dog can't be part of everything you do.
I like dogs, and I agree with you.
Jim, leave the dog it out back for an hour.
Go do your press conference.
It's your, be fine.
If you were the server, would you like watching over baby dog for an hour?
Not at all.
But I'm very pro dog, but I agree.
Same for Herb Street.
You don't have to take them everywhere.
You don't have to take your child every.
Like, when you're in a public job, like, you don't have to have your dog and your kid running around.
Time and place for things.
That's not the right time or the right place.
I do have a fun fact about Jim Justice.
Go for it.
Apparently he owns the Greenbrier Hotel.
Yeah, I think he owes some coal mines.
He owes some taxes in Kentucky.
A lot of deals like $35 million to the state of Kentucky, doesn't he?
Let's go buy the hotel.
And we're going to take Baby Dog as collateral.
Oh, you say Kidnap Baby Dog?
Yeah.
Give me the $35 million.
I don't think he should be allowed to have another blooming onion until he pays his debt.
He's paying his Outback tab.
That's a good question.
Shannon, you're excited about the Royal Rumble tomorrow?
Somewhat.
I'm going to watch.
It's going to be weird because it's going to be at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
It's in Saudi Arabia, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I don't like it being in Saudi Arabia.
I don't like it being in the 2 in the afternoon.
I just don't really watch current wrestling.
So unless there's somebody that's like old school that's coming back.
It's going on during the pregame show tomorrow, Ryan.
So actually I'll have it on during the pregame.
So that'll be kind of.
It's weird to watch SportsCN on ESPN and they're breaking down the Royal Royal Royal.
It is weird.
It is weird.
Like they're breaking down a basketball game or something.
I know, but like I find it really weird.
Yeah.
It's like it would be like break it.
Like they don't break down a movie.
I know.
But you know, for the amount of money that WWE is paying ESPN.
I know, but they treat it.
Because they're being paid to.
I know, but they're like,
Austin or, you know, Rollins or Lesnar.
They're wondering why their ratings are going down.
Can you bet that on draft kings?
I'm surprised.
I'm surprised they haven't done the betting on the stuff yet.
The problem is you can't do it, though,
because somebody can fix it.
Sure.
Well, yeah, yeah.
I mean, you could.
That's why.
That's why I don't think you can do it.
Who's next?
David and Little Rock.
David, go ahead, David.
Yeah, if you think you're uptight about this game, you ought to have to live down here.
Tell Billy, tell Billy I'll do the damn post-game show.
I'm sure I'm going to have a few things to get off my chest after this one.
Listen, this is always for Cat fans living down here, which I have to do, have had to do for many years.
This has always been the most, you know, tension-filled game on the schedule going way back, well, since Arkansas joined the league.
But the last two years has been just unbearable.
I mean, it's just this people, people, of course, I have a reputation being the Kentucky fan and people will stop me.
I have this old guy at church that likes to say, we stole your coach, you know.
Yes.
And the assumptions, the assumptions that these Arkansas are.
saw fans make. It just boggle my mind.
You know, and currently their assumption is that we're just hankering to get Cal back or we're
just pining, you know, for for Cal to come back and save us and be our coach.
You know, they want that to be the fact.
They want it to be the case that we hated to lose him, you know.
Anyway, they're way off-face.
Well, I mean, I agree.
But go ahead.
Well, the only other thing I was going to.
going to say, I'll push back a little bit on the guy from Danville because on hot springs,
because it's fairly nice. I mean, you know, it reminds me of parts of Kentucky, actually.
It's somewhat, you know, it's somewhat mountainous. So it sort of reminds me of getting over
Richmond or London or, you know, toward, toward mountains of Kentucky a little bit. It's, it's pretty
nice. The other lake he was talking about is Lake Washington, so Lake Washington, Lake Washington
I'm sorry, I might have to cut you off
because we're going to have to make our predictions.
Good luck tomorrow on the game.
I appreciate the call.
All right, let's talk about it.
Game starts at 6.30.
Pre-game show will start at 4 o'clock.
We will go at 4 o'clock tomorrow right here,
getting ready for it.
The watch party is tomorrow night at KS Bar with Ryan Lemon
and John Cal Perry.
Ryan, if we win, shirt off.
Is that fair?
Shirt and pants, probably, if we win this game.
Okay, keep the pants on.
He just, he can't.
I'll go outside and run around to my big blue diaper.
Again, just gets worse.
It just gets worse as it goes.
I'm going to go to Draft Kings.
So before he does it, go to DraftKings.com.
Bet 5 win $200.
Cats in Arkansas.
Use my promo code KSR.
Arkansas is a seven and a half point favorite at this moment.
Shannon, what's going to happen?
Unfortunately, I think Arkansas wins and covers.
I'll say 85-76 Arkansas.
I think O.A. has a good game.
I think he scores 20 again.
Drew, give me the case. Be optimistic for a second.
I got it.
I got it.
Make your regular pick.
This is natural.
I actually have this feeling.
I mean, Arkansas is most likely going to win.
If I had to put money on it, I'd pick them to cover.
But I have not forgotten that every time I think John Caliperi is going to win a game, he can throw a phone.
Amen.
I mean, I haven't ruled out the possibility that they can't make a three.
We get kind of hot.
Or he does to take the air out of the ball thing.
Like, we've all seen this movie.
many times where he has a game he's supposed to win and drops the ball.
I do think we end up losing it, but that scenario exists out there.
I'll say 80-702, a half-point cover.
But don't sleep on the calcare.
I mean, that's not very optimistic.
You have them covering.
That's the most likely scenario.
But people say they're going to win by 30, there's a world where we've all seen it.
We lived it.
He's very capable of the dud in big games.
So that scenario exists.
But if I had to put money on it, I'll say they barely cover the spread that's out now.
All right. Ryan.
Rule of 71.
Cats score 72 points.
Unfortunately, this game's a rule of 81.
8572, Arkansas.
I just don't have any confidence in this team at all right now.
So, I mean, people are going to see Darius Acuff for Arkansas.
He's probably the leader right now for SEC player of the year.
he's one of the great he's going to go down as one of the great Cal point guards
and he's really really good really good I don't want to underestimate what Drew says though
Cal can put up clunkers last year they came in one and six they were awful they ended up
getting the win and it turned their season around I don't think we're going to win but I also
don't think it's implausible that this game comes down to the end LSU
Elshu was up big on Arkansas and then ended up losing at the end in Arkansas.
So it is plausible.
One of two things is going to happen.
It's going to come down to a minute to go and either team can win or we're going to lose by 30.
To me, there's no middle ground.
One of those two things is going to happen.
I'm going to say it's the first.
I'm going to say we lose 78, 76.
But one of those two things will happen.
And we'll know, Ryan, within the first six minutes of the game.
You race to 10.
If Arkansas got it, if they're on their way.
If we race to 25, if they're up 15, it's over.
That's what I'm worried about.
We'll see you tomorrow.
It's been KSR.
