This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter.

One of the biggest misconceptions about buying a home right now is that you have to wait for the perfect moment, perfect rates, perfect timing, perfect market. The truth is, that moment doesn't really exist. A lot of buyers pause because of headlines or assumptions, but every situation is different. Race change, market shift, and personal goals.
Starting point is 00:02:31 goals matter just as much as what's happening nationally. That's why talking to a local lender can be so valuable. Starting point is 00:03:17 Welcome to Hour 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now, here's Matt Jones. Welcome back. Hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio, 859-280-2287. Mario was live on Instagram and he caught me. I almost missed the start of this segment. So I set a
Starting point is 00:03:33 customer, which I don't do a lot. You're giving your lowdown of your shoes and your fit for the trip. Yeah, because I got new stickers I was going to talk about. All right, text. It's Ask Anything Tuesday. One person writes, Matt, for the average listener, who would you say that the average listener knows the most about in real life on the show and who knows the least,
Starting point is 00:03:53 aka I think Shannon's the most mysterious person on the show. Is that correct or not? So that's a good question. So like everybody, if you listen to this show regularly, there's six of us that are some part of it. I would say the person that the average listener knows the most about if they listen to the show is actually Ryan. Wouldn't you agree?
Starting point is 00:04:16 No, not at all. It would be you. No, I think it's Ryan because there are parts of me that people don't know. Everything about Ryan is known. Like, there's no, like, I don't know. We could tell a million McDonald's stories from you. No, but what I'm saying is, There's a part of my personality that you have to know me pretty well to see.
Starting point is 00:04:39 Mario's shaking his head. You know it because you know me well. But the average person sees like this exaggerated version of me that's on the air. But like I'm much quieter in person and by myself, etc. Ryan is Ryan. Like there's, like I don't think there's any mystery to Ryan. Do you disagree? I think there's a lot of mystery to Ryan.
Starting point is 00:05:02 Like what? What? What? He lives here. No, but he's just, he's this. He's just this sitting in the dark waiting for someone to talk to him. Shannon, you've spent vacations with Ryan. Is he any different than he is on the air?
Starting point is 00:05:15 No, that's Ryan. No, Ryan is Ryan. Ryan is the most Ryan. I have a good idea of what you would be. I have no idea what Ryan's off doing. Yeah, I do. He's just Ryan. He's just walking around living in this body and head.
Starting point is 00:05:30 He's just bee bopping through life. Yeah, he's be bopping. fighting off the ladies. Do you agree or not? I think we're all pretty open, to be honest. I think it's one thing that makes us attractive on this radio show is that we're kind of open with our lives, all of us. I think everybody's open.
Starting point is 00:05:47 I think Shannon is the most closed. So he is the least, I think, no. I mean, I don't know a lot about it. Like when Shannon leaves here, Drew, none of us really know what he does. Oh, he's a runaway winner. of the Mysterious Award. Yeah. I think that's good.
Starting point is 00:06:06 No, I mean, I think it's fine. I think over-exposure's worse. I mean, people don't hate you as much, even though I think objectively you have the qualities that would make people the maddest in life. Like what? Well, you dislike people more than anyone. That is not true.
Starting point is 00:06:22 That, again, shows that you don't even know me. You've been doing this show with me for 15 years, and you don't know me. You, you... And that's on you. You think you like the most people? Yes. Okay. I'm the first person there and the last one to leave when we do a nose.
Starting point is 00:06:35 You are. That's true. No, that's true. But you live in Louisville like you don't have to, like Ryan and Drew and I have to, and Mario, we see people at the bar all the time. You don't get all that because you're in Louisville. That is true. That is true with me being here and you guys being in Lexington. So there's a lot of truth to that. We don't see each other as much. I think that's why when people meet us, they feel like they know us because we are so open with our personal lives on this show. Yeah. But I would say in general if you listen, you do know.
Starting point is 00:06:59 No one's a different person. No. Off the air. Yeah. I do say you're a little different when you take your Matt Jones hat off and are just Matt with us, you know, chilling out, having a McDonald's burger. What do we have a McDonald's burger? I'm not eating a McDonald's burger in, I probably have not had a burger for McDonald's in 20 years. Egg white delight.
Starting point is 00:07:24 Okay, they don't make that anymore. I do. I drink Diet Coke. Yes. But I think when you take your Matt Jones hat off and just Matt, it's a, I think it's a, I think it's a, different guy. I think you all are all essentially completely yourself. I'm myself, but I have to amp it up like 20% to be on the air. Yeah. But you guys, that makes the show a work. That's why it works. So I think people are surprised like when they come up to me that like I don't have a lot to say.
Starting point is 00:07:54 I tend to be quiet when I meet people. And very gracious. Nice. I try. Yes. I'm not always. Sometimes like you can't. Sometimes you're in a bad. I hate when. sometimes you're in a bad mood and then you talk to somebody and I feel bad afterwards. I'm like, well, I didn't mean. Yeah, don't you wish you could reach back out to him and said, man, I'm sorry. I didn't handle that well. I was on a flight a few weeks ago and I got very, like, I don't know. And so during the course of the flight, I felt bad on the way out.
Starting point is 00:08:20 I was like, hey, man, my bad. Good for you. I'm glad you said that. I listened to you every day. I didn't want to be. But you have to remember that, right? That's right. You know.
Starting point is 00:08:30 Sometimes I forget how open we are. say I have a random you know a service at my house or a restaurant someone says something very specific like oh you wore your house shoes to the show last week I'm like how did you hear? Oh yeah we just say everything on the air and forget that we're just open books here
Starting point is 00:08:46 every morning. Yeah now since we mentioned McDonald's McDonald's is doing a promotion. I wanted to see if you would want this. McDonald's is at stores in New York, L.A., Dallas and Chicago having a special this week where they are going to have McDonald's caviar.
Starting point is 00:09:04 Based on a trend on TikTok, they are going to put caviar on their chicken McNuggets. And if you go to McDonald's, they'll give you the caviar. They're having a whole caviar set and 25 McNuggets. It's like you get 25 McNuggets and caviar for like $30 or something. And it's, they're specialist to try to encourage people to use caviar with their chicken McNuggets. Would you like, I think you like caviar. I mean, I don't get to eat it often because
Starting point is 00:09:38 it's caviar. Would you like caviar with chicken big nuggets? The weird part for me is the chicken nuggets here. I try not to eat those. I mean, I might do it to say I did it. I don't think they go together. Caviar does not deserve to be anywhere near McDonald's. Shannon? No, not for McDonald's. If I'm going to eat caviar, it's not going to be a McDonald's. I don't understand the appeal of I don't think it tastes good. It's delicious. We ate five pounds of it on that road trip in Canada, me and Tomlin. We once had caviar or a caviar company sponsored the pre-show for like a year,
Starting point is 00:10:11 the first year of the pre-show. I do remember that. Because that's made in Kentucky. It's good. America's best caviar. If you want to come back, America's best caviar, I'll eat your caviar. Have you, do you eat that? I've had it one time.
Starting point is 00:10:22 It was when we were at Kelly Craft at the Canadian Embassy. It's the only time I've ever had it. But I would absolutely. Like they had the Canadian Embassy, the American Embassy and California. Canada had caviar out the wazoo. Yes. And it was really strange to be sitting there with you all, eating caviar and the American embassy in Canada.
Starting point is 00:10:40 I remember taking a little sample and Tomlin and I are like, how much of this can we eat? And she's like, go crazy and we emptied the fridge. Canada ran out of caviar because of all the caviar. That was American tax dollars going into urine Tomlin's belly. ate all of her caviar on the next morning. Daniel ate all of their syrup. He did. He did.
Starting point is 00:10:57 Her up and caviar. So back to the McDonald's part of it. this. I would try it. I would definitely try it. Are they providing the caviar? B. YOC? So I guess apparently there's a TikTok trend where people are like putting caviar with things you wouldn't think caviar has. McDonald's trying to get in on it. And so they've gotten some caviar company. Okay. And they've agreed for 30 bucks, like normally it'd be like 150 bucks. You get 25 McNuggets and caviar as long as you try it and then make your videos of you eating. Yeah. I would try it. I would definitely try it.
Starting point is 00:11:30 Maybe there's a McDonald's, maybe one that, you know. Wadi-Badonia, maybe they'll have it. Maybe one that we've had some conversant, you know, maybe that's as a way to, we'll try it if they get it in Lexington. Next time we're in there eating burgers with you, like we do. We'll have to bring it up. Joe, go ahead, Joe. Yes, Matt. On Mark Polps recruiting and all that, I was looking at the roster,
Starting point is 00:11:57 10 of these players can come back. I mean, I know Clinton's a thing, Joe. I think they thought that they were going to bring a lot of this team back. Now, maybe if they finished the season strong, they will. I think that I would be surprised to see some of these guys back, but I think part of the reason they recruited who they did last year was to bring a lot of these guys back, because you're right. You said 10. I thought it was 9, but it might be 10.
Starting point is 00:12:26 But there are a lot of guys who can come back. Yeah, it's 10-count Quentin, but Quentin's ain't coming back. The only seniors you've got is, right, the only seniors you got is the whole way in Everdeen. Correct. Yeah, so I appreciate the call. I mean, there are a lot of people who could come back. I think a lot of it's going to depend on how the season is.
Starting point is 00:12:51 You know, they're going to have to go get, here's what they have to do. They're going to have to go get at least three guys out in the portal who can shoot. no doubt because they're going to lose Aberdeen and Owey and they might lose low too but they're definitely going to lose Aberdeen O'Reway so you got to go get some guards we don't have enough guards as it is two of the guys do you think most likely to come back though are Chandler and Cam Williams two shooters Marano Chandler Williams to me are the three most likely guys to come back yeah I'm not saying other people won't and then Hawthorne but I don't count him because he hasn't played I would assume he's got he didn't come here to Red
Starting point is 00:13:29 not play next year. So I would assume that that's, if you were saying, okay, who's on the team next year? I would start with Moreno, Chandler, and Williams, throw in Hawthorne. I think that's a good bet as the four. Then Jalen Lowe, it's just a yes or no decision. I'm going to lean that it'll be a yes.
Starting point is 00:13:50 And then everybody else I'm kind of not thinking it's going to be here, wild card Trent Noah, because I don't know what's in his mind. Yeah. I'm going to kind of assume Diabod. Late's not here yet next year. I'm going to kind of assume Garrison's not here next year. I don't know about Yelovich.
Starting point is 00:14:07 I really don't. I have no idea. I don't know if he's enjoying it or not? Yeah, I really have no idea. I don't have any connections. I have no idea about him. Do you like him in the starting lineup where they got up to the good start against Arkansas with him out there?
Starting point is 00:14:19 And he had like, what, seven points or anything in the game? I think it's gone pretty well, right? Yeah, he doesn't take many, but his three-point shooting percentage, especially in the SEC, he's been really good. It's close to 50%. He's just not shooting many. Yeah, so I don't But they got to go
Starting point is 00:14:33 They're going to, I mean, you're going to lose O'A in Aberdeen your two primary scores So you're going to have to go get some good dudes Especially if you're not going to have any recruits It's going to add them. Go ahead and Adam What's up? Ask anything, right? Well, yes.
Starting point is 00:14:52 It doesn't mean we'll answer it, but yes. So what happened in the pool was Willie Colley-Stine and Bahamas 2015? In the pool. Oh, I can tell that one. That one's easy. He bet some people. Maybe cash was involved.
Starting point is 00:15:09 Maybe it wasn't. I don't know the statute. I think now you could say cash was in. He bet he could swim the length of a very long pool and back without coming up from air. There was a lot of money on the line. A lot of money. And he did it end to end, but he went so slow. It was like, it built suspense.
Starting point is 00:15:24 We're like, there's no way he can keep holding his breath. He swum from one end of this pool to the other. Underwater. How long do you think he was underwater? It felt like forever. The moment he started, like, there's no chance at the pace he's going that he will even get to one end and back. It was shocking. It was shocking.
Starting point is 00:15:41 And he, because he's so tall, he looked like this massive fish underwater. And I would say 45 seconds to a minute. Yeah, it was a long time. It was, that was one of the more amazing physical sights I've ever seen. Whatever pace you think he was on, it was slower. We had no faith in him. And as I said, there was a little bit of gambling going on. So when he popped up, the people that had bet on him, it was a big scene around the pool.
Starting point is 00:16:08 The 2015 team trip to the Bahamas is probably the closest Drew and I've ever been with a group of players at a team. I mean, essentially, the fans were all in one part of the hotel. And then this other part was just the players, really big donors, and then like me, Drew, the turkey hunter, Judge Gabe. My guy, Mani. And so what was happening is that, like, you were getting to know the players, and they were having fun. The coaches were leaving them alone. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:43 And pretty much everyone except Carl was, like, doing their thing. And, like, doing their thing. Carl would come in and out. Carl, remember my air shots with Carl. He would find me and we'd do airshots. They would party. Carl didn't party. but then he would come and take shots of air
Starting point is 00:17:03 so that he can be part of the team shan. He'd find me. You ready for another air shot? I don't recall. I just had one. I'll try to do a second one. You can drink all day off of that. But you got to know him and Willie was the leader of the whole. I mean, Willie was injured. Willie was wild that entire week. I think he would acknowledge that. And those guys that talked about that made him closer. That made them better as a unit. I think that was huge for that group.
Starting point is 00:17:24 Yep. Because you had all these young guys and then all these old guys. And I think that trip brought them all to I heard many guys talk about that. How would you rank the 2015 team in Wildness? Willie won. That one was, I was going to start at the bottom. The Harrisons were the most business-like on that one. They were very business-like.
Starting point is 00:17:44 They were very business-like. They were pretty locked in. Ulyss and Booker enjoyed their first intro to Big Blue Nation. I'm going to go wildness. They had never been around anything. Willie won. Todd Lanter 2. Derek Willis.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Derek Willis 3. I'm making Derek Willis talk about. one. That was my first-hand story. Derek Willis was the hello and then probably Ulyss Booker. That would have been your starting five of parting. And Derek played well, too. I have to add that.
Starting point is 00:18:14 Great balance. We learned what works for him. Cornbread hemp. That worked for me on the trip. Help me sleep. Cornbreadhemp.com promo code, don't quit. Actually, that promo code is over. KSR.
Starting point is 00:18:27 Okay. You go to KSR, use KSR, get 30% off. You got gummies. I packed them for the trip, and I just lost my headset. You also have topical oils and more. That way you can rest and relax. It's at cornbread hemp, cornbread hemp.com. Live the good life. We'll take a break.
Starting point is 00:18:44 Be right back. KSR. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending. Opinions are flying. And nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where sports slice comes in.

I'm talking, Tripp Fontaine, Ryan Clark.
Starting point is 00:19:53 Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped. up in the chase, that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing, and we're still chasing it, and we don't know when we've done enough. Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses. Steve Burns, Dustin Ross, because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth, or are you a good person because you're afraid? Because that's two different intentions, bro. Absolutely. And that's two different levels of trust. I want you to just really be a good person. Join me, Keir Games, as we have real conversations about healing, growth, fatherhood, pressure, and purpose on my new podcast, Learn the Hardway. Open your free iHeartRadio app,

And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff, like being an internet famous referee. We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker, this linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me, he goes, A, ref. My mom, one. want you to wave at her. What? Time out. Quarterback on office blue of 42.
Starting point is 00:21:01 Hey, Red. My mama want you to wave at her. What? Hey, Ms. Parker. Listen to the Clipper Show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. American soccer is about to explode. The World Cup is coming.
Starting point is 00:21:22 Ramo sending on to Ernie Stewart the chip. I'm TABRAMA. I'm Tom Boe. On our podcast, Inside American Soccer, you'll get the real storylines. I'm not worried about Policic. I'm not worried about Balagan. I'm not worried about McKinney. My only concern is what happens in the back.
Starting point is 00:21:45 The biggest decisions. If you're going to look at stats and numbers, he has no shot at making this World Cup team. And the truth about the U.S. national team. It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals or potentially a great run into the semantics. finals. The World Cup is almost here. Experience it all with us.
Starting point is 00:22:08 Listen, Inside American Soccer with Tom Bogart and Tab Ramos on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, wherever you get your podcast. Somebody just wrote me and said they have a video of Willie Swimming. Probably exists. I'd like to see that. The caller was talking about the other story. It's just hard for me
Starting point is 00:22:29 to talk about the other story because, like, these people are still around. Yeah. You know? But the other story is the best UK story. I will tell it one day. I think we've said it on like a late night something once. I think so. But never on this show. No. Probably won't. I'll do it on one that's not on podcast. 859-2-8022-82-82. 87. Text machine is 772-745-254. One person writes, Matt, what do you think about the story about Savannah Guthrie's mom in Arizona? Shannon, that one's awful, right? I mean,
Starting point is 00:23:01 and 84-year-old woman kidnapped outside or in her home. They're treating the house now as a crime scene. There was signs of forced entry and there's blood that they found. They don't know whose blood it is. Probably her moms. I mean, that's awful. I pray for the best result in that. That's probably terrifies older people across the country.
Starting point is 00:23:23 They're scared to begin with. Then you hear that an 84-year-old woman was yanked out of her home. That's just going to magnify it. Scary. Have they said anything about why? That seems like such a random. thing to happen. I didn't,
Starting point is 00:23:33 the only thing I heard this morning, that they're definitely treating it, treating it as a kidnapping. Oh, that's awesome. You could guess why. With her being a celebrity, I mean,
Starting point is 00:23:42 there's probably something she said and probably some crazy person that knows where her mom lives. Oh, you think it's because of something Savannah Guthrie said? Yeah. She's not like an outspot. I don't even know.
Starting point is 00:23:55 Like, what does she even just believe her thing? Like, I don't know. So you think it was something to do with her daughter. I think there's a very good chance. Well, that would be awful for the daughter to think like something they did. Yeah. Otherwise, it's just completely random.
Starting point is 00:24:11 I know, but that's in some way scarier. Yeah. Like if it was completely random. See, that's one of the things I think about when you have crimes. Like crimes where somebody does something for a reason are awful. But when it's random, I think it's even scary. Very scary. Because then it's like, well, that could happen to anyone.
Starting point is 00:24:34 You know what I mean? Oh, yeah, yeah. I mean, other ones are awful, but the motive where they're right or wrong, someone has a scenario in their head with that person. Well, that wouldn't be me. Yeah. You know what I mean? But I mean, you know, when it's just completely random,
Starting point is 00:24:46 it can be anyone on the street, regardless of who they are, what they've done, any relationship at all. The denim uniforms are getting broken out Saturday. Yep, Saturday. We saw the initial release of the, like, you know, attire that you could buy, the sweatshirts and the I have to tell you it didn't look denim to me. It looked just white, didn't it?
Starting point is 00:25:09 Yeah, I hate, I mean, it has the old logo they used with the denim, but I hate that they, at least what we've seen so far, it's not denim. I mean, they have like that color as the font, but it's not leaning into it enough. Yeah. So what do we think it's going to look like? So this is Saturday.
Starting point is 00:25:24 You think it's going to be cool? Yeah, I think they'll be. The shoes are cool. Have you seen the shoes? The converse? Well, those are just the old shoes. That thing that went viral, that's just a picture of the old shoes. No, but I, the sneaker news website I have.
Starting point is 00:25:39 No, that was just the old one. So this isn't, they're not re-releasing them? There are shoes. Yeah, they're re-releasing the old shoes. Not those. So what are they re-releasing? Some new shoes. So you know the new shoes.
Starting point is 00:25:54 Perhaps. Oh, okay. So tell me about it. I can't. They don't look like the old ones? Why can't you tell me? I've heard whispers of some new shoes. Think more NBA in All-Star Week coming up.
Starting point is 00:26:08 So, but are the Kentucky team players going to wear them? The thing that went viral is just the old shoe. I said that when it came out. I was like, these aren't even new shoes. These are the exact same converses. I think that's so. So they're not re-releasing the old ones. They could surprise us, but there will be other shoes.
Starting point is 00:26:20 Okay. Look at Drew, no and everything. All right. To the original point, I did not love the hoodie that came, that they've already leaked. Mark Pope seemed to suggest he was. going to wear something different for the game. Somebody called him on the show last night and asked if he was going to wear something
Starting point is 00:26:36 denim and he said, I got something ready. He should wear jeans like a jean jacket. I can't imagine what does like a denim suit look like? So for the home uniforms in white, they'll have just a splash denim. I want to see a road denim. That's where you got to see the full denim effect.
Starting point is 00:26:53 I want them to wear the denim ones on the road. Do you think it's just going to be the white home ones? Those were not that cool. I agree. The blue denim was the cool. That was the cool one. And they're not wearing that. I wish they would. Unlikely, because that'd be the away uniform.
Starting point is 00:27:05 Yeah. But that's what everybody thinks about. Yes. But when they originally wore the whites in the anniversary, they had like five straight home games of the whites. They didn't break out the blue denim for a little later. I would love for them to do the blue denim. Me too.
Starting point is 00:27:18 But being a home game, I'm expecting white. Okay. Well, now I'm not as excited about it. Because I thought it was going to be very denimy. Maybe they will still wear those in an upcoming road. game or break them out later. Yeah, maybe. But in the home game, probably white,
Starting point is 00:27:34 but maybe we'll be surprised. Mark, go ahead, Mark. Hi, I got a question for Drew and then one for you. Go for it. Drew, I've been trying to think, trying to think of the name for this team, and I,
Starting point is 00:27:47 it has to be related to Forrest Gump and his box of chocolate because you never know what you're going to get. The Gump's. There we go. Perfect. I know. The chocolate cats.
Starting point is 00:28:00 I don't know. I can't come up with anything, but... We can't call them that. Yeah, we can't call them. Okay. What's your other one? This is brainstorming. There's no bad idea. I figured... No, there are bad ideas.
Starting point is 00:28:14 There are bad ideas. Just so you know, it's not that there are bad ideas. What's your second one? Okay. The second one is regarding the uniform change. Our guys are going to go up and down the court looking like a Super Mario Brothers. You played the game before, right? Not well. But are you talking about in the denims?
Starting point is 00:28:38 Yeah. Yeah, what kind of pants do they wear? I appreciate the car. I assume they're just going to wear what they wore in 96. I mean, I would think that's what they're doing, right? It's the 30-year anniversary. I assume that's what they're doing. I'd be very disappointed if they did some kind of twist or different.
Starting point is 00:28:54 So go look at the white ones that they used to wear in 96. I assume that's what they're going to wear. I mean, people were not excited about this. but now that we've beaten Arkansas, now Oklahoma's lost eight straight games, so we cannot lose to them. Cannot lose to Oklahoma. But assuming we win that game,
Starting point is 00:29:11 I think people will be excited for this for Tennessee. Because it's Tennessee and it's at home. We're going to earn denim. Yes. All right. Conway, take us out. We'll be right back. T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney.
Starting point is 00:29:21 Call T.J. He'll make them pay. Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. All right. One person writes, Matt, I know Mark Pope's Taylor. He is having a custom denim suit made.
Starting point is 00:29:36 Oh. Can you imagine what that would look like? Six foot 11 Mark Pope walk out in a denim suit? Well, that'll get attention. You got, by the way, if you come out in a custom denim suit, Shannon, you got to win. Exactly. And then what if he sweats through that? Oh, dude, it's going to be so heavy.
Starting point is 00:29:54 He's going to wait. It's going to be so heavy pounds. Well, maybe it would be awesome, though. Well, let's hope so. I think it'll be awesome. I think if you're going to go, go do it. I agree, but there is pressure on the game. Helps that they got the one in Knoxville out of the way.
Starting point is 00:30:08 But, I mean, all the stuff they're doing. And someone during the break told me not to give up on the maybe two pairs of shoes. Maybe the converse's will exist. Okay, good. I thought, because that was a real. By the way, people writing going, oh, you're an old man falling for Facebook. That was sneaker news. That was like the big sneaker site that had it.
Starting point is 00:30:27 So that's not like some random. The photo they showed was definitely an old photo. Okay. But, I mean, they could still be in the works. Okay, because I'd love to get those. Okay, gotcha. All right. So, Drew just show me.
Starting point is 00:30:38 There we go. But you're right, though. They got to win that game. They got to win. You look like a clown if you stand there after getting blown out wearing a denim suit. If you're wearing a denim suit down 30. Oh, my goodness. You're like, oh, people go, dude, come on.
Starting point is 00:30:51 All right, Billy's here. Billy just got here. Billy, come on the microphone here for just a second. So you're nervous about packing for the Super Bowl. Why? I'm very nervous. Why? Why?
Starting point is 00:31:03 Why are you nervous? I just wanted to go well. Like, I'm really excited and I wanted to go well. But like, what is it you're nervous about? Well, we're going to have fun. Our technical difficulties, uh, my attire at Super Bowl Radio Row on the set. Wait a minute. Hang on. What are you worried about about Super Bowl Radio Row? Like, what do you, like, who cares what you wear?
Starting point is 00:31:23 Well, I guess to you. So you're trying to look good for the other media people? Well, sure. I mean, look good. You know, dress, dress for success. am I right? Well, do you meet Rich Eisen? Yeah, so you want to look good for rich eyes. Yeah, but I'm not like in a suit or anything like that. So what do you wear?
Starting point is 00:31:38 So give me what you wear. Actually, like quarter zip action? QZee. Quarter zip, really. That you dress it up. You're nervous about the quarters of it. We got multiple quarters zips. I just want them to match the NFL hat.
Starting point is 00:31:51 Like I just. So people don't know, Shannon, he has a hat that just has the NFL logo. What a psych up. Like Rob Lowe. Like it's just the NFL logo. No. team, it's just the logo. I'm a company man.
Starting point is 00:32:03 I love that. You have two of them, right? Three. You have three of them now. I have a third stranger things NFL hat that I've not debuted. You bought a stranger things NFL has. So you're wearing the quarter zips. You've worn quarter zips before.
Starting point is 00:32:15 Why would that make you nervous? I don't know. You really are. You're shaking. I told you on the pre-show, I could fill it through the radio here. What do you think is going to happen? I don't know. I don't know what's going to happen.
Starting point is 00:32:26 Remember, there was a show Ryan forgot the equipment. That's a big one. And that was a big, that was the tornado relief show. They had an audience at a school and we just didn't show up. They had a huge audience showed up and Ryan just forgot the equipment. You have the equipment. Yes. Presumably it'll work.
Starting point is 00:32:44 Yeah. If we can get it through security, lithium batteries at all. That's all right. You just tell them. You just tell them. We just have to tell them. And then you'll be okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:51 But like, you know, I don't know. Like Christian McCaffrey, what am I going to say to Christian McCaffrey? You're not saying anything. Exactly. It's Drew and I host the show. You're the producer. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I'll let you say something, but if you don't say anything, it's okay.
Starting point is 00:33:05 Tell about your quarter zip collection. I want you to admit what you're really nervous about. What? You want to impress these media members. You see this as the Billy Super Bowl networking show. This is your exit from us. This is where he's trying to leave. We're taking you to your exit.
Starting point is 00:33:23 Yeah, no, he's trying to find another job. I think that's what's happening. Well, yeah, if they have a job open, like. So you'd move? I'm like if somebody said, Billy, we want you in Chicago at, you know, Chicago ESPN Radio. Yeah. Are you gone? I mean, it depends on several factors.
Starting point is 00:33:43 Like what? Throw anything off the table. Sounds like a man I want to put out the door. I mean resumes you take it. None, but I have a business card, a digital business card. What's a digital business card? You scan it and then all my info goes to your phone. Who wants that?
Starting point is 00:33:59 Nobody wants that. Hold on. I'm going to defend people are going to scan your digital. You're like the YouTube album that nobody wanted on their phone. I don't know what's on there. I'm on Billy's team. This is a big opportunity.
Starting point is 00:34:11 Not many people get it. But do you think people are going to scan your digital business card? Who? Jeff Darlington, when we talk and yuck it up about our conversation in Buffalo. You think he's going to scan your digital business card? Yeah. Way to go. You have to sign up.
Starting point is 00:34:27 Billy. No one's going to sign up for. Billy's digital business card, Shannon. Yeah. I thought I had that fit. This is a good dress for her. You got to subscribe to get your information. You just subscribe to get Billy's email.
Starting point is 00:34:39 See what I mean? He's going to scan the business card and they're not going to get anything. And I'm going to look like an idiot. So these are, but that's why you might just get a regular business card. Too late for that. Okay. Listen, I don't want you to be nervous. It's all right.
Starting point is 00:34:52 We're going to have fun. We're going to, this is a fun trip. This is a reward for every Sunday night this year. We've gotten up at 11.30 at night and tramped ourselves down to the studio in the freezing cold to talk about these. This is the reward. This is not like. Well, it is a nervous excitement. Like, you know, like it's not like bad, right?
Starting point is 00:35:12 I'm not like thinking bad thoughts. I've never seen you this nervous. Well, overconfident Billy will come out, but he's not here right now. The digital business card. I might just put that to the side line. This is beta Billy you're seeing right now. I think we may just, let's not pull out that. If you walk up to a stranger,
Starting point is 00:35:28 and go hi and Billy scan my digital business card I don't Drew I don't think that's It's going to get your phone a virus or something you know That's like most people don't do that Scan in random QR cards
Starting point is 00:35:40 I think they'll be like So just do me a favor I'll introduce you to the people I know I don't know everybody But I know some people I'll introduce you Do me anyone I introduce you to Please don't tell them to scan your digital
Starting point is 00:35:54 Even if I get it working No No if it's somebody I don't know, scan the digital business card if you want. But if I introduce you to someone I know, no digital business. Like Taylor Luan, hey.
Starting point is 00:36:08 I don't know him. But like if I introduce you to like... I'll introduce you to like... If I introduce you to like Dan Olofsky. Oh, yeah. Dan... Scan the card, right. No, don't.
Starting point is 00:36:18 No, no scan in the card. That seems like a scam. Like you're just going to get in and get all my phone. Do not scan the car. Oh, they don't trust me. I wouldn't trust you. Can you imagine some random dude coming up in their quarter zip saying scam my digital business card?
Starting point is 00:36:30 I'm credentialed. Everyone is credentialed. We're credentialed. With the NFL, I mean, they saw my hat, right? All right, we're pro quarter zip, anti-digital business card. We're getting through this. All right, you're going to do fine. What do you wear into the party Saturday night?
Starting point is 00:36:45 Oh, I got an all-black look Saturday night. So do I? We're not wearing the same thing. You're going to have to change. Guys, I got bad news. I got an all-black look, too. Are you? No, you don't have all-black.
Starting point is 00:36:57 do you? Okay, I was about saying, we can't all have all black. Is it a suit? No. Okay, so I'm wearing a suit. Button down and pants. Okay, what about you? A little action. I don't have a suit, no. Okay, all right, good.
Starting point is 00:37:07 Dick Van Dyke shoots, shoes. All right, get out of here. 859-280, 2280s. Let's go to Seth. Go ahead, Seth. You're going to skip over? Do you not see who's on number 10 right there? Oh, no, it's made up.
Starting point is 00:37:21 Who is it? Oh, it's Chester. Oh, Chester. Go ahead, Chester. He's up next. Hey, Matt. Listen, I just want to say, first of all, that I'm, I hope that we can stick with Pope and cut out the nonsense about trying to get rid of him, no matter what happens the rest of this season. I feel like he deserves at least a good three years before we make any sort of comments about that.
Starting point is 00:37:43 Second thing is, I don't know if y'all talk about it, but what I loved about that game against Arkansas was Tyler Ullis over there wearing that blue suit. I don't know if y'all talked about it, but he had on a blue suit. And you can't tell me that was an accident. You cannot tell me that was a message. That was a message to the Big Blue Nation. And I hope to someday see him back over there on our sideline. Last thing, and I'll get off here. You all were talking about the ankles.
Starting point is 00:38:14 I do not understand this for the life of me. When I grew up, I had weak ankles. I would always be spraying my ankles. And then basketball, tennis shoes started. it to change. And I believe it was an 808 or maybe an 880 or something that a VIA made. And I got me a pair of them. And you cannot sprain your ankle in a shoe like that. Now, I'm not saying they got to get back to old 880s or anything. But when you look at these shoes, these players are wearing, they don't make a high top. I saw the other day at this youth league,
Starting point is 00:38:48 some kid, I said, look, that kid was wearing a pair of skateboarding shoes out there. And my buddy said, those were the new Devin Booker. shoes. Yeah. They don't know. The new shoes are very rarely high tops. Yeah, LeBron's like the only one that still wears hot tops. And the players are way more powerful and more strong and cutting on them.
Starting point is 00:39:07 I don't understand it. Why don't they wear a hot top? I mean, we used to wear a high top to prevent the ankle sprain. And you wouldn't get an ankle sprain in a lot of them shoes because they were, they were, they were protected. You're not the only person that said that, Chester. Good to hear from you, by the way. Don't be a stranger, okay?
Starting point is 00:39:25 Well, I appreciate it. This show's popular. I've been on here waiting for an hour. It's a lot of work. I didn't see you on there. It's not my fault. I appreciate the call. What do you think?
Starting point is 00:39:37 You agree with them about the high tops? That thought crossed my mind last night. I was watching the Pacers Rockets game, and every one of those guys are wearing low-top shoes. You went to that game. We went to watch Reed Shepard and the Rockets play the Pacers. Me and a yoga girl. I gave her that for her valent.
Starting point is 00:39:52 I gave her that as a Valentine's present. Wait a minute Nothing says romance like Reed Shepard You gave her an NBA game For her Valentine's Day president And Tinroof though Don't we forget 10thruh? Is she an NBA fan?
Starting point is 00:40:04 She loves Reed Shepard She would leave me for Reed Shepard in a second That's a big age gap If Reed Shepard's on TV She's watching it And she's never been to an NBA game Did she want that? She loved it
Starting point is 00:40:16 Okay Yeah Did Reed play well? He started No Kevin Durant So Reed started But he didn't have his best game a little dude.
Starting point is 00:40:23 But there were Kentucky people everywhere. We got out of our car and 30 seconds later we were in there's like seven dudes from Manchester. They were Kentucky people all over the place. And when he got announced in the starting lineup, he got the biggest applause of anybody. Well, that's cool. Very cool. Interesting Valentine's Day gift. Nothing says romance like Reed Shepherd.
Starting point is 00:40:40 Valentine's Day is coming up. Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses.
Starting point is 00:42:59 Steve Burns, Dustin Ross, because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth? Are you a good person because you're afraid? We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me. He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What?
Starting point is 00:43:46 Time out. Quarterback on office, Blue, 42. Hey, ref, Mom, I'm going to want you. you to wave at her. What? Hey, Miss Parker. Listen to the Clifford show on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hey, I'm Deanna Maria Riva, actress, mother, lover,
Starting point is 00:44:09 and a Gen X woman walking through life one hot flash and hormonal crying jag at a time. You ladies know what I mean. I'll bet you a parameda apostle chin here you do. So let's talk about it. Join me on my new podcast. How hard can it be with Deanna Maria Riva, where I call on my GenX squads from Ohio to Hollywood.
Starting point is 00:44:24 Hollywood as we navigate midlife's most fantastic BS. All of a sudden I'd had hanginess happening on my own. I was like, what the hell is that? I was married when I had her, so I didn't even consider how empty that nest was going to be. Mood swings, night sweats, fupas, sex drive. Wait, what sex? Dating at 45, how can it be getting naked at 50 with the new guy? That one's kind of hard, no.
Starting point is 00:44:51 Well, that's lighting. They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to try. try. So let's get blunt with laughs, tears or tears of laughter, and dive into it, unfiltered and unbothered and ask, how hard can it be? I cannot believe I'm about to say this out loud in public. Listen to How Hard Can It Be with Diana Maria Riva as part of my Cultura podcast network available on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome back, Tegu Sports Radio. 859280-2287. One person says, Matt, I love you guys, love this show. four of you are getting on a flight and you just said earlier middle finger to
Starting point is 00:45:27 Annabelle. I tried to get you to take it back. All right. Fine because we're getting on a flight. Say you're sorry. Say you're sorry. Sorry, Annabelle. There we go.
Starting point is 00:45:36 Thank you. You're a wonderful young lady. And I wish you the best. Very sincere. You're talking to a doll. You're the one that thinks all these players got injured because of the dog. I don't really think that. But you just apologize to a doll on live radio.
Starting point is 00:45:52 Sorry, Annabelle. When person writes, Matt, in the corporate world today, everybody uses digital business cards. Billy's ahead of the game. You just don't understand. Yeah, I don't believe that. I mean, I believe people may do it and they act like they want it, but they don't. We're also not in the corporate world. He's trying to do that to Christian McCaffrey.
Starting point is 00:46:10 Yeah, I mean, I will grant you that there are probably a lot of people that have them and they tell them to scan them. But like, I don't think anybody uses it. You scan his. You got to put in your name, your phone number, your email, all your information before. you can even get to his. You think Billy McCaffrey's going to be like. Billie McAfrey is going to be like, I'd like to put in my email and phone number so I can find out about this Billy kid. Billy really impressed me.
Starting point is 00:46:34 I want to save his contact info. I think if you just tap iPhones that send your contact info anyway, we could teach him that trick. I don't think Christian McCaffrey wants Billy to have his iPhone number either. I just think, hey, he's legit nervous. That wasn't an act. Oh, that was not an act. Justin, go ahead, Justin. Hey Matt, I am a sophomore at Harvard from Lyon County.
Starting point is 00:46:56 Oh, wow. Congratulations to you, by the way. Thank you. Thank you. I appreciate that. I wanted to get your take on the great inflation problem that you guys talked about earlier in the year. So Harvard actually reduced their number of A's from 60% to 53% in the fall. There's kind of a split within the students of, do students get more A's because we're Harvard students?
Starting point is 00:47:19 or are the professors too lax? They are two lacks. 53% is still too high. The whole point of grade. So like the fact that you go to Harvard in and of itself means I think a C at Harvard, I would assume a C at Harvard is as smart as an A at other schools. But like 53%. An A should be you are the best 15, 20% in the class.
Starting point is 00:47:46 If 60% of the kids are getting an A, then that's, nothing. So when I was in law school, we had a curve. And like, I first didn't like it, but then I did well. And so I like the curve because there's a difference between the people who do really well and just kind of well. So to me, 53% is way too high. I bet back in the day at Harvard, only 15% or 20% got ayes. I think there's a shift now where a lot of the professors are more interested in teaching rather than grading. Yeah, but that's fine. But that's not the real world. The real world, all right, now I'm going to sound like, I'm going to sound maga map here for a second. But the real world is not everybody's going to do well. Like you have to be competitive and like you have
Starting point is 00:48:32 to teach people that you're going to have to excel. And so everybody is good is not the lesson that you that I think you want to teach. Now, you're going to Harvard. If you just have a diploma, you're going to do great in life if you don't screw it up. But like you should want to have the best of the best. So I know it hurts people's feelings to not get good grades, but you're at Harvard. Go for it. All right.
Starting point is 00:49:03 Appreciate you. Appreciate it. That is my view. Now, I feel differently maybe about UK where, like, I think it's a different thing. But at the top schools, I want people going for the baby.
Starting point is 00:49:14 It's like at Kentucky. What if I told you 60% of the players in the SEC make all SEC first team. That's no fun. That's ridiculous. Who's good? Who's good? Same way in grades.
Starting point is 00:49:27 Like you said, even the guy gets a D plus but gets a diploma, D plus average, gets a diploma from Harvard. It's still a diploma certificate from Harvard. After you get your first job, nobody cares what your grades are. Amen. Nobody ever asked me what my grades are at Duke Law School. It helps you get your first job and then that's it. It helps you get your first job.
Starting point is 00:49:45 But even, but if you go to Harvard, you're going to get a good first job anyway. Yep. So that's just me. 85.9, who's a big blue profit? Go ahead. Yeah, I guess your opinion on that. With the injuries, is it hope needs to get a new medical staff
Starting point is 00:50:02 or is there kind of like a screening we need to do with these players coming in? Are they already injured when we get them? And they don't know us about it? Well, I mean, I don't think they were. Clayton's was. But Drew, I don't think any of the other guys were. So, no, I mean, Lowe didn't have a shoulder problem.
Starting point is 00:50:18 Appreciate the call. couple of ankles here recently. There's a lot of people calling out our training staff. I just, I have no idea what they're doing and what they're not doing. You know, maybe it's an issue, but speaking of school and grades, I didn't get that far into the medical field to be able to criticize our trainer. Don't you want to know who the best doctors are? They need to have grade differences.
