Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What?

One of the biggest misconceptions about buying a home right now is that you have to wait for the perfect moment.
Perfect rates, perfect timing, perfect market.
The truth is, that moment doesn't really exist.
A lot of buyers pause because of headlines or assumptions.
But every situation is different.
Race change.
market shift and personal goals matter just as much as what's happening nationally.
That's why talking to a local lender can be so valuable.

Welcome to Hour 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio, presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Now here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back, hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio, here at Media Row in San Francisco, Whiskey Thief.
It is our Whiskey Thief Takeover Day with their Thieve, your own experience.
Go check out Whiskey Thief in Franklin County and in Louisville's tasting room.
It is the bourbon of Kentucky Sports Radio.
Billy R. Sports, Drew Franklin and I, you guys ran all the way up there, got a drink during the break and got here right in time.
Kay Adams Show has started over there.
Even sadder that Mario is not here because we have a perfect view.
for all we know, Mario did not refuse, did not get his credential back and is instead over there with Kay Adams.
That's also possible as well.
It could all be one big lie.
Yellovich apparently was the guy who guarded Caleb Wilson.
Okay.
That's right.
That was the game I didn't get to watch because I was with my dad.
So I didn't know that.
But Yellovich would be, that's an interesting option.
I guess if it worked with Caleb Wilson, might as well try it with Nate A.
you? Wilson, you know, he scored a lot of points, but I think he's very inefficient from the field.
He had one little, one-handed turnaround late in the game that was like an NBA move.
That was a big play.
Where we thought, yeah, we could have used that.
But they did pretty good on him overall.
Who's this big guy right here?
I don't know.
I would not mess with that dude.
He's clearly something.
This dude.
Yet the one, the guy that looks 6-8 rip.
With the Mohawk.
Do you see that guy?
I do.
That's the one I'm talking about.
Go shoulder bump him.
I passed by him.
He said he was psychedelics helped him in recovery, is what he was saying in the interview.
He said it to you?
No.
What was the context of the conversation?
It just walked up to you and said psychedelics help me and recover.
I was walking past him trying to get back here, and he was talking about how psychedelics had helped him in his recovery.
Oh.
You know, I hear a lot more about that.
They say about people.
And Kentucky is like one of the places is in Kentucky, right?
Well, yeah.
The ayahuasca.
No, there's a guy who talks a lot about psychedelics to help, you know, former veterans and people who, like, who did.
with like PTSD and that kind of thing.
And he says that psychedelics help.
And I believe he is from Kentucky.
So I think he's had some fights maybe with the legislature about that.
Speaking of that, a non-sports thing,
Andy Beshear went on TV yesterday and said that the Lexington response to the snow
has been unacceptable, said he offered the state's help right after the snow to help
clean up the roads and the city said no.
So that's, that, first of all, interesting just from a political standpoint, because he and
Linda Gorton are, you know, in the same party.
I mean, she, I think she maybe she used to be Republican.
I don't know, but like, she's a pretty moderate to liberal person.
And you don't usually see a governor just call out.
Yeah.
To just call out a mayor.
But, like, if it's true that he offered the state's help in cleaning up the roads and
they said, no, that's probably a bad look.
And good on Andy, because those roads are still terrible.
I don't expect every back road to get done.
It's been two weeks.
But like turning lanes and busy intersections are still full of ice.
So, like, I just, I completely agree with Andy.
If that's true that the state offered it and they said no, that's kind of inexcusable to me.
Absolutely.
And just the fact that the governor's calling out the city in itself is you don't see that often.
Say it was a second storm in a row where it's happened.
And I'm, you know, I'm just a neighborhood subdivision.
But my house and my street, I just talked to Abby last night, no different than it was the day we did meteorologist madness on that Monday.
It has not changed when it's just a block of ice still.
Nothing is different.
And how long has that been?
That's been two weeks.
I mean, it started snowing what?
Saturday, two weeks ago?
I mean, we're going on two weeks now.
Apparently some of it might melt this weekend, which is good.
But still, I mean, two weeks is unacceptable.
It is.
I mean, I don't know.
Like you said, that can be a big factor in somebody trying to get reelected, right?
The little things like that, snowplops?
Well, I mean, if you think about it, like, what does a mayor do?
Like, I think that when people judge mayors, they're going to judge probably number one crime, right?
The number one thing is like public safety and crime.
The second is probably like, is this place clean, right?
Sure.
And then third might be snow.
I mean, what else does it?
I know mayors do other things.
don't think people know.
Right.
Like, what do you think
a mayor does,
Billy?
Besides the things I just said.
Shish hands, kiss babies,
be a figurehead for...
For what?
For crime,
snow,
and the place being clean.
I might even put snow number one,
because right now,
with school being out,
people are going broke on,
like,
daycare and things
that didn't have.
I've mentioned this.
Cars are going to be
wrecked from what we've had
in Lexington.
They're parts where there's now
big potholes
from the ice.
There's a part on New Circle
that
just ran off by herdsburg.
I can tell you that restaurants,
I've talked just in the last week,
to restaurant owners who say business is like way down
in the last two weeks because there are still people
who don't want to be out at night
because of the ice, and so they won't come out at night.
You know, we had, we've been down
in the last couple weeks because of it.
Like, I get it.
I mean, I think there's a lot of reasons for people to be frustrated.
You know, but you don't see a governor
calling out a mayor very often.
Well, that'd be like, you know, good morning football calling each other out on air instead of off the air.
It's like Andy just wants to say, like, my hands are clean of this, and he's just throwing Linda Gordon.
Oh, so you know, wait a minute.
Okay, now that Shannon's taking the opposite view.
You don't, you think Shannon's, he's just covering his tape.
Well, he's going like, look, don't blame me for this.
We offer them help.
He's throwing Mayor Gordon.
But what if that's true, though?
What if he actually did offer him help and they didn't take it?
Well, then that's bad on Mayor Gordon for not taking their help.
But he's kind of just throwing her out there under the snowplow.
I mean, he is throwing her under the snowplow.
That's exactly right.
Let me just say, Shannon, yesterday was a hilarious moment.
So there's a thing over here called the, it's like the bounty football challenge.
And you're trying to throw footballs through a hole.
I watch.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Now, the way to do that is probably to take two hands and just push it, right, rather than try to make a, but.
But I decreed that we couldn't do that
Because I thought that was like, Shannon, unfair
Right?
Now, to be fair to me and Drew,
the hole was like low.
There it is, Shannon.
The hole was low.
Billy sick.
You'd say this on the pre-show.
Well, the hole was low.
So Drew and I were having to come, like, throw from above.
I was my home throwing.
So Drew and I both, and people were asking,
well, why did you throw like that?
It was the only way for me,
if I threw it from above,
I wouldn't have made any.
Because of the, you know, so Drew and I both kind of had to throw it side on him.
Billy, being a little short he was able to throw it more normal.
With that said, I got six, Drew got four, and Billy comes up and starts poorly.
I mean, he's all over the place, right?
We wondered if he'd get one.
He's like Zach Kowzata, and he's not getting his money, right?
Like, he's not hitting the target.
And then, with a 10 seconds left, goes on an amazing run.
Four in a row gets the win, he gets seven.
wins the competition
Shannon no one's ever been happier than Billy
I mean like the cell
the celebration that was not for camera
like that was just his
internal
you know what I mean like that I saw
nipple in the celebration
he was he decided to reverse the quarter
zip gave the crowd a little bit of what they wanted
you know gave the people working for bounty
some excitement
and I have to say
even though I'm very competitive
and liked to win, I kind of was happy for you because I saw how much you wanted to win,
and it was kind of nice.
We had just gotten off the set where Christian Watson had called me lazy and five-and-one
shampoo for the course.
Okay, so for people who don't know, you've got to listen to Fridays cover zero.
We're having an interview with Christian Watson, where he roasts Billy.
I mean, so much so, Shannon, that I may cheer for the Packers now because he roast Billy about.
his quarter zips, including saying that his quarter zips are the equivalent of five-in-one
shampoo.
So I just got off the stage from that.
A lot of pent up in me.
I had watched too many Dr. Pepper halftime shows at the SEC championship game.
We didn't do the push, but, you know, I had the spiral down.
I started using the laces late, and that's how I got on the run.
Your first few throws, you didn't use the lace.
Which is something they teach you at quarterback school.
But I was happy for you.
He won a month supply bounty, which is nice.
Oh, I did.
He will have clean counters and whatever else they clean.
Yeah, I'm surprised.
We talked about this.
Bounty's like the number one sponsor.
Number one spot.
Everybody hears Bounty.
They're everywhere.
It's a crazy scenario.
But were you happy for Billy?
I was.
That release, there was like something pent up there.
You were even shaking a little bit.
And, you know, I'm not that competitive.
I wanted to win.
But your excitement was more exciting than Matt and I ever could have had in the meeting.
And I loved it.
I wanted you to have it.
I'm glad you got that.
And you went on a run to do it, too.
You came from behind, kind of like Kentucky versus LSU.
You had your Malachi Moreno moment.
There's something about wearing khaki pants, whether it be haybell tosses or football contests.
All great football quarterbacks wear khaki pants.
And I'm proud of you.
Who's up next?
Let's go to Ryan.
Ryan.
Go ahead, Ryan.
859-2-80-22.
Hey there, Matt.
This is Ryan. First time caller, long-time listeners.
Who are? What's up?
Man, I have a grievance about the man that called in earlier,
a little bit of hate towards San Francisco.
Now, I'm born and raised in Southeast of Kentucky.
My whole life, you know, just praying to the Lord, stuff like that.
So you can kind of imagine who and what, you know, I am like.
My wife, she works at a wonderful place here in Lexington,
Greenhouse 17.
They had an opportunity to go to San Francisco to a conference.
So I jumped on board, and it was an amazing time.
Not only is that city beautiful.
Geologically, I mean, all of those things.
It is an intelligence city.
I think that is the biggest problem, maybe, that that man with the child on his jaw
didn't quite understand.
Now, I'm not here to be so upset, but people want to talk ill about a place.
Now, that's one way, sure.
But whenever you go there and you experience it, now that's a totally, totally different thing.
I have only been to one, and I appreciate the call.
I've only been to one city in the world where I felt unsafe.
I think there's like this thing that people get scared of travel because they think, I don't know, because it's unknown.
I've been to one city in the world where I felt unsafe.
Where?
Marseille, France.
And even then, I've heard there are parts that are really nice.
I just wasn't in them.
Is that where you get lost in the backyard or got stuck in somebody's backyard?
No, that was in Luxembourg.
I wasn't scared there.
But Marseille, France, was the one place where I was walking down the street and I was like,
but I mean, listen, I say this all the time.
Every place has got places where you shouldn't go, right?
There are places of Bell County that I would tell you, if you don't know anybody and it's after dark,
maybe don't go to RJ.
right you know because they're going to be like what are you doing here we why are you here
every city so you know are there places in san francisco that are not nice i'm sure there are but there's
a lot of nice places so don't be scared uh to come to a place i had a moment yesterday i went to that uh
it's like a hundred year old place here and i met the staff they're also nice and i said i'm from
kentucky he's like we never get kentucky here and i was like really and he said yeah i think
it's TV news. We don't have the best reputation.
And I had a great conversation, great meal when I was
leaving, he gave me a stack of postcards.
He said, give these to your friends and family in Kentucky
and say, we love to have Kentucky here and hope
more people will come visit. And I was like, hey, they
kind of hit me and like, dang, they feel like we
hate them in Kentucky, but also he was
so nice, it was like, take these back and pass
it around. And it's also like, Billy, there's some
things here that you can't see in any
other city. The hills.
Like the hill, like there's no other
place. There's no city in the country
that's got hills like this.
prison. There's an
island prison. There are other places with island prisons,
but yes. Two bridges
that I hope that we're going to see soon. There's a Golden
Gate Bridge and a bay bridge, although
Drew has made clear which one he likes.
And I mean, you've got Lombard Street.
You got these Waymoes everywhere.
We were on top of the world last night.
On the...
Let me say that. That's a beautiful
view. At the top of... It's called the top of the mark.
And you... And the windows are...
There's windows all across
around the building. And that's like
that's one of the better views.
You have to go to Manhattan to see a view that high and that pretty.
It was beautiful.
It was stunning.
But then also earlier that day, we were in an alley that smelled like urine
and where Mario could have lost his credential over there.
I do think that's where Mario's credential is, by the way.
Well, he did a photo shoot.
Yeah, so he did probably lose his credential in the urine alley.
But that's not, you're not helping my point there.
Well, like there are places, like even in the most beautiful cities, like the urine alley.
Listen, I've peed in multiple alleys in Lexington.
Sometimes you've got to pee in an alley.
I'm not judging anybody for peeing in an alley.
Well, I mean, there you go.
I've done that this calendar year.
Tell me about Stockton Mortgage, Billy.
Oh, Stockton Mortgage, you know, it's always a great time to buy,
but maybe you're prepping for spring season, right?
I mean, maybe that's when you're targeting.
They can get you ready.
They can put you through the entire process.
When it comes to, like, if you're somebody like me who's still renting
and you're not sure of, like, the more, like, what a mortgage is
or, like, even, like, what you need to do next,
they can walk you through that entire process.
They're really friendly.
It's not like AI, like here in San Francisco.
You're going to get a real person talking to you.
That's nice.
So, yeah, check out Stockton Mortgage.
They obviously work with Ryan, but they've done a lot for KSR.
What would the website be?
Stockton.com.
That's right.
And then NMLS.
There's a number.
Do you know the NMLS?
Don't know that one.
Okay.
859-28027?
Yes, but thank you to Stockton for all that they've done for KSA.
You actually did a good job.
You did better than Ryan does without a script sometimes.
So I give you a quick because you don't even have a script.
No, no script.
You did a nice job. We'll take a break. Be right back. This is Kentucky Sports Radio.

Thank you guys. Thanks a good.
Thank you guys.
Is it Holmage?
Homage.
Welcome back.
It is Kentucky Sports Radio.
What's the name of the company?
Homage.
Out of Ohio.
Out of Ohio.
They make these t-shirts.
Gave us one.
I went to Radio Row and all I got was this lousy t-shirt.
Thank you very much, sir.
So Madelah inside ball, they used to have UK gear.
And when I talk about UK isn't the easiest to work with sometimes.
They don't have UK gear anymore.
All right, Billy.
First of all, Billy freaked out during the break.
Did you see?
Gerald McCoy.
Shady McCoy.
Gerald McCoy.
You like went crazy.
You said you looked at him, but he goes, Gerald, you're a true buck.
He'd be like preached to him.
You did.
You said you were a true buck.
You were excited.
Well, he was a high draft pick and was on the team for a while on some bad teams, like really bad teams.
Okay.
Very outspoken.
He's kind of got a quirky side.
He's like a comic book nerd.
He's really into superheroes.
He's like you.
No.
But, I mean, that stuff is.
fine but like he really connected with the fan base he's gotten a lot of criticism though and
i think it's unwarranted in a lot of ways so i just wanted to give him my now who is this person
right here that you don't like this is cameron jordan he's a saint all right cameron jordan
i ask him i'm not watching this i'm trying to my back ask can you walk i don't want to have
him on the show i do so like you're the you're one of you're a producer here on the set why don't
you walk right over there will you walk right it seems like he's like with them right now but just
say hey could you pop on for just a second why you're the you're the one you're
so you can set me up with this guy doesn't like you.
Yes.
You know, that's exactly what it was.
He's walking you do your own funeral.
Yeah, so I'm going to decline this interview request before it even happens.
Wait me.
How can you decline?
He's a interview request.
You don't get to decline Cameron George.
He's on the move.
Here he is.
Do you have a second?
Okay.
So that's a no.
Exactly.
There you go.
See?
He doesn't want to talk to Billy.
Now you know why you don't like him.
I didn't want to talk to him.
He could probably tell.
That's why I didn't want to do it.
Yeah, you said no first, Billy.
Let the record show that Billy was the first one to say, no.
You turned him down before he turned us down.
I don't even like him talking to Gerald over there.
Like, they should be rivals.
Oh, that's your Bucks guy talking to him.
They should hate each other.
Oh, they do.
But they're friends.
I don't like that.
Billy's starting to get that look he got last night when he needed to go outside for fresh air.
That's what you look like before you slam down the restaurant.
That's right.
See, he would have come on, but he heard you turn us down.
You asked him, and he said, do you have a second?
He said, I might.
He did say I might, Shannon.
weird answer. Do you have a second? I might.
Depends on who you are, who's asking. Or did he say I could?
I could. That made it sound, does he want me to pay me?
Yeah, I don't know. All right here, I got a 20 camera. Will you come on for
I respect Billy. When you have your rivals and you people are, you don't bend, you
don't cave just because they're in front of you. You don't like him, you don't like
unless you look like Jeff Saturday, you put on a Colts jersey. I could see
that as a Titans fan, but no, you got a...
Alright, fine. You know what? I'll tell you what, Billy. I'm declining the
anti-camera. We're anti-Camron.
I hope they offer them to you on, like, ESPN one Sunday.
Nope, declined.
Can we get Billy?
For the first time ever, our first ban from KSR is, I don't know who this is Camrod Jordan.
Who's next?
Wendell.
Wendell.
Wendell.
Wendell.
Hey, greetings, fellas.
It's great to be on the show.
It's been a while since I've talked to you.
I hope you're having fun out there in San Francisco.
Thank you.
My question is there's been a ton of earthquakes out that way in the last few days.
a big swarm right there underneath San Francisco.
Have you all felt any of them?
Have you all been worried about it?
And how's Billy dealt with shaking?
Yeah, I've not felt any.
Have you felt any of the earthquakes?
Yeah, I think maybe they're used to it here.
Maybe it's built in, but I haven't felt any.
I didn't heard of mention of it.
No, no.
So I appreciate the call.
I think they had the big one a while back.
It's San, what is it, the San Andreas,
fault? Is that the name of the...
Sounds right.
Okay.
Can't confirm.
You're still worked up about Cam Jordan.
Yeah, right after he got his Gerald McCoy moment.
We're going to keep you doing a roller coaster emotions for you.
No, no kidding.
Who's next?
Jake.
Jake.
Jake, go ahead, Jake.
Jake.
All right, let's try Mary.
Mary, go ahead, Mary.
Yes, this is MB3 of the UK Insiders.
I had to work this week, so today is the first time I've been able to ask this question.
or know the answer.
So it may have been answered.
But has there ever been three separate technicals within 38 seconds in a game like occurred
in the Arkansas game?
And secondly, I love Sam Fran and the insiders are saying cast by seven.
Wait, man, can I ask you a question?
Let me go back just a second.
Let me go back just a second.
You introduced yourself.
What did you introduce yourself as, Mary?
N-B-free.
I don't know what that means.
Well, that's my code name, MB3 of the UK Insiders, Mary Beth Freeman, actually.
What's the UK Insiders?
It's just a group of cronies here in Kentucky.
There'd be cat fans.
Okay.
Well, MB3 of the UK Insiders.
That sounds like, is it a show?
Because it sounds like the name of a show, the UK Insiders.
Well, it's not a show, trust me.
But it could be.
Well, maybe we will.
Maybe that'll be our next investment.
It's MB3 from the UK Insiders.
To answer your question, I don't know of a game where one team has gotten three technicals in 38 seconds.
I'm sure that there have been fights over the years, Drew, where there have been those amount of technicals.
But to have three different incidents trigger a technical within 38 seconds, three different plays,
I have to think that has almost never happened.
Do you agree?
Yeah, because usually after one, and certainly after one,
two, you do something to make sure it stops. Either that ref that's been teeing him up goes to the
other side of the court, separates himself from the coach, or you tell both coaches get your group
together. I can't believe we've already had two. We've got to have this discussion. So getting
the third, it was just way out of hand there in Arkansas last Saturday. Yeah, I don't know. Thank you
very much. I don't know that it's never happened, but I don't know of it happening in my days.
And, you know, we've seen two Mark Pope technicals already this year. Kind of surprising.
Yeah.
Kind of surprising that he's, I mean, I sort of thought he might be a guy who never got technicals.
Although I feel like they judge him on a different scale.
You know what I mean?
I feel like if you are as good a guy as he is, even a little screw up get you a technical.
Whereas like John Cal Perry or Mike Shoevsky or those guys could just cuss and cuss and hurley.
And like they don't give it to him.
I feel like you get almost being a good guy almost hurt you a little bit because they're like,
I do not expect that from you.
They're like, gosh, Mark Raid raised his voice over there.
Do we need to get this under control?
He must be upset.
Whoa.
I mean, I'm only kind of half kidding.
I kind of think, because you know Dan Hurley,
50 times a game says things as bad as Mark Pope did.
Well, it's like fouls and teams of foul a lot.
They don't call them all, so you're just a team that fouls and hacks a lot.
So when you're screaming a lot, I can't tee you up every second.
When Rick Petino was at Louisville, he said his defensive philosophy is we foul a lot because they can't
call all of them. And so they got away with more because they just took the view that that's what
they could do. So if you're just yelling the whole game.
Matt Taiio's right here. You want to ask him to come up? I'd love to ask Matt Tai. There you go.
All right. You have a job. We'll be right back. We'll be right back. T.J. Smith, personal injury
attorney. Call T.J. He'll make them pay. Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton
Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. Welcome back, Tucky Sports Radio. It is the Whiskey Thief Takeover.
Franklin County in the Louisville tasting room, single barrel bourbons and whiskeys,
and you can get them right out of the barrel.
Shannon, we just had objectively, all right, I like to kind of make fun of all these players
walking around.
This was very cool.
During that break, standing what, Drew, within 10 feet of us?
We were kind of even brushing shoulders.
Literally, within 10 feet of us at the exact same moment were Bo Jackson, Barry Sanders, Drew Brees,
Larry Fitzgerald and Luke Kikley.
There's a lot of talent.
A lot of talent right there next to us.
Bo Jackson is right there right now.
That is Bo Jackson.
Do you know that?
Yeah, I didn't know he was still doing media stuff.
I mean, for people, R.H.
Who was cooler than Bo Jackson?
I could hear you geeking out during the break.
Dude, it's Bo Jackson.
There's Barry Sanders.
Like Barry Sanders and Drew Brees.
But that's Bo Jackson.
The, like that's not someone we see a lot.
He's not media.
He kind of keeps a low profile.
You do not see him.
There he is.
That's a legend.
A video game legend.
When I was a kid, the thing where he had the bat on his arm with the football pads and his shirt off, Shannon, that was the coolest picture of all time.
Yowl over there and see if he'll come on the show.
Well, he's doing television right now.
He's sitting next to Seth Romp.
What about Barry Sanders?
And Cam Jordan.
Barry Sanders is about to go on that same show.
So we at least get Larry Fitzgerald.
I try.
No one wants to come.
See, we're like their lounge, we're sitting where they're waiting to go on.
That's exactly.
We're kind of in the NFL, since we're an NFL podcast, we are in the NFL TV lounge.
So like they come in here to wait to go on the NFL network.
But if we could get Bo Jackson after the other guy turned us down.
I mean, we're here with credentials.
Why don't we just lie to him?
No, no, you're not on set.
You're audio only for this one.
We try to lie to them like they're supposed to be here with us.
We are technically with the NFL.
Look at Billy's hat.
Billy, that's Bo Jackson.
I'm a little starstruck.
The last five minutes were insane.
And Rich Gannon?
Rich Gannon.
I didn't mention Rich Gannon.
I didn't get to him.
Listen, I'm trying to think athletes of my youth
that would make me have that reaction would be maybe King Griffey Jr.
Bo Dion
Well, but Dion's been so
overexposed in recent years
I think you're right
I think it's the fact that we don't see him much
that makes that kind of cool
You know what I mean?
And just yesterday one of our NFL bosses
Was telling us like he doesn't really get into NFL stuff
Because he works here
But he's like, but I love Bo Jackson
I wish you were here right now
I had a fan boy with us
In the 90s, who would that cool athletes have been
Shannon? King Griffey, Bo Jackson and Michael Jordan
Wouldn't that have been the three cool athletes?
Yeah, but again, I say Dion, because Dionne was a multi-sport athlete.
He was. He was really cool.
Yeah.
So I'll throw him in there.
Those four probably.
Also, remember Mario asked Larry Fitzgerald to take our picture in Scottsdale?
We should have been like, hey, we can't find Mario.
Will you social media for us, Larry Fitzgerald?
I'm still not in the building yet, potentially at the police department trying to get his credential.
Who's next?
He's going to Steve.
Steve, go ahead, Steve.
Hey, guys.
I haven't heard anything about the recruiting.
you know, when JMI was having all that backlash about whatever the contractual provisions were
that were causing problems with Stokes and Collins.
So I was wondering if you guys had heard anything because usually when, you know,
recruitments go bad, they turn around and they commit to a different school.
That hasn't happened yet.
So I'm just curious if you're all holding any hope that we may sign one or both of those two people,
I guess, with the whole kid as well.
I'm not holding a lot of hope.
I mean, I guess I'm holding, I appreciate the call, a tiny bit of hope.
But I wouldn't say, Drew, I'm holding a lot of hope of getting either of those guys.
No, I would love to be surprised.
This looks like a year where it's going to be mostly returners and portal.
I don't know how many high school kids are even out there still to go get.
Well, Rick Petino said he wasn't recruiting high school kids a couple years ago.
He's since changed that a little bit.
Is that notion still stand or do you still want high school kids?
Kentucky cannot, with a straight face, the basketball program,
make the argument that they're not recruiting high school kids.
They recruited all these guys.
They're top three with a lot of them.
And a couple of them, they were the leader with Christian Collins and Stokes.
They were the leader.
So they cannot, with a straight face, say, we did not want to recruit high school kids.
They, if they don't get these guys, again, this is an off-season conversation, in my opinion.
But, you know, if they don't get those guys, there have to be a serious conversation about why that happened.
Did it happen because Mark Polaro?
can't recruit those guys.
Did it happen because of the JMI contract situation?
Did it happen because these dudes are asking for so much money and we don't want to spend it?
I don't know what the answer is.
And maybe it's a combination of all these.
But there needs to be an answer because this is Kentucky.
And we are going to get none of the top players, most likely.
None.
And two of them are from Kentucky, by the way.
And two of them lived here.
Okay, and we're going to get none of them.
And by the way, the other power programs are all getting guys.
So it's not like a philosophical sea change where now all these dudes are going to Iowa State.
These dudes are going to Kansas, Duke, North Carolina.
They're just not coming here.
And so why that happens has to be a serious conversation.
And it cannot be Mark just saying everyone is special.
Like there has to be an explanation as to why that is.
it's probably an off-season conversation,
but it is going to be one we're going to have to have.
Yeah, we were mentioning Caleb Wilson earlier in the show,
like 24 hours before he committed North Carolina,
it looked like he was committing to Kentucky.
Remember last year they were like,
what's your dream, top five in college?
He's like, man, I would love to play with Jasper Johnson, Malacomarino,
he just named UK's freshman class,
and then you lose them in the final hour.
So we'll learn more about the NIL situation and stuff,
but I think it's very obvious that the closing is already an issue
because they've been all the way to the last step
with a lot of players,
none of them ended up signing.
I got a message from the mayor's office that said the city did not refuse state help with roads.
It was a misunderstanding, apparently.
The mayor would never refuse state help.
So maybe that's breaking news here on KSR.
It sounds like that.
Yeah.
She's not putting it back on Andy.
That makes it even more odd that Andy would say that yesterday, right?
Yeah, Andy versus Linda Gordon in the square circle.
That's a weird matchup, one that we didn't ever expect.
Yeah, we got Seth Rollins and Bo Jackson right there.
They could be the special guest referees if they want.
Who's up next?
Isaac.
Isaac.
Isaac.
Hey, guys.
Barry Sanders is so little.
Like, look how little Barry Sand.
He's also just dressed like everyone's like an older man, like shirt tucked up tucked in.
Yeah, I mean, he's dressed like Larry dresses to go.
short sleep button.
He's wearing a big short,
but like,
I love it.
That was like the best,
like that was the best
running back of all time.
And like he's wearing dad jeans.
He looks like he's somebody's proud dad watching him here.
He's like just smiling.
I've,
I look,
Barry Sanders and Bo Jackson are about to shake hands.
This is like running back royalty.
Right here.
You've got Barry Sanders and Bo Jackson
are about to embrace right in front of us.
And where's Mario?
The police station.
I mean,
This is a crazy.
All right, sir, I'm sorry, but you have to understand.
Right in front of us is Barry Sanders and Bo Jackson.
Go ahead.
No, I'd be in the same boat as you will.
I'm extremely jealous of you all right now, but I hope you're having a good time.
I was just going to say I've been thinking about Brandon Garrison and all the technicals he gets
and how often he's just like ready to fight at any given a moment.
So I was trying to think, if you could think of any Kentucky players in history, that you would want to go into a fight with.
Like they're going to be the guy that's right next to you in a fight, who would it be?
It's a great question. Before I do it, there it is. They're hugging.
They dapped.
They dapped. They dapped. I appreciate the call.
Look at that.
I got an amazing video. I'm selling that to TMZ right now.
I mean, Shannon, they're talking right now. Look at this.
He's got his arm on his shoulder.
Get out of the way, Kyle Brand.
His arm is on his shoulder.
Look at that.
Wow.
That is, Cam Jordan. Goal.
Everybody get out of the picture.
It's about Kyle Brink.
Can you get away?
Kyle's a running back.
Princeton.
Kyle got in the middle.
Why are you all in the picture?
Angry runs.
It's Barry Sanders.
Okay, now look, they're talking.
What do we think they're talking about?
Hey, Bo.
How you doing, Barry?
These kids today.
That's right.
They can't run his fat.
This is incredible.
This is incredible.
Hey, I can't get over how much of just a proud dad he looks like.
He's just happy to be weird.
I'm sorry.
He's going to church.
That was cool.
Forget it.
Like, that's Barry Sanders and Bo Jackson.
They're talking.
and it's like we're there.
It's surreal.
We're right here.
We're right here.
You could give Barry Sanders a nugi.
Don't do that.
We need Derek Henry to walk in.
Should I go check the bathroom?
What was this question?
Who?
Barry Sanders.
He's bald.
Yeah, no, he's got a full head of hair.
Oh, okay.
It's receding a little bit, but it's got a full head of hair, doesn't he?
Two guys forced to retire in their pride.
I will say, though, he is dressed.
I think even I am dressed better than Barry.
Barry is an older Monzao Allen for any UK football fans that like to Turtle. It looks a lot like him.
Wow. All right. What was the guy's question? I got thrown off. I asked who we would want to go in a fight with.
Easy answer for me. If I could have any UK player in a fight with me, I would go with Jamal McGlor.
Yeah, Jamal's good. I'm thinking as much as Diabate Liggin, some of those guys come to mind, I need a center with some reach.
McGlore fits that mold. I'll say branding,
Garrison to just stick with, you know, 10 and O when he gets worked up in games.
Yeah, I think I like Brandon, but I think Brandon's a lot of.
Well, if we're doing like our ratings, his crazy level, like his, his, now that's a good point.
His not give a blank is higher than anyone else.
They say you don't want to fight crazy.
Yeah.
So, yeah, that may be so, but McGlore was crazy too.
He was.
McGlore, I'm taking McGlore.
I'll tell you a sneaky one, Lance where?
Lance?
How about Lance?
Did you say cousins?
Well, that's a good one too.
You know, I feel like Cousins, though, at the end of the day, doesn't want to get hit.
Can't mess that up.
Yeah, I mean, it's...
He did use Jared Swapshire's face as an armrest in the Louisville game.
That's true.
Well, that's a good list.
And that was a cool...
Our guy Vince got us geeking out.
He got photos of us taking photos.
Look at us.
Look at me pointing.
Now, that's a great picture of us geeking out.
That picture of all of us geeking out right there.
kind of cool. Thank you to Vince for doing that.
That's good. All right, we're going to take a break.

Welcome back, Techie Sports Radio.
All right, so I just have my moment.
Yep, welcome to the club.
I just have my moment.
What was your moment?
Seth Rolls just told me, he recognized me from rest, Lucius.
He said, aren't you the guy?
Look at him blushing, Billy.
He said, aren't you the guy that was in wrestlers?
And I was like, yes, I am, Seth.
At least we know Seth.
I'm the guy that, I'm the guy that had the seizure.
You didn't lead with that, did you?
It's the first thing I said.
You're feeling all right?
No, yeah, that was kind of cool.
You've gotten that a few times this week, right?
Crazy.
Probably gotten it more this week than I've gotten it since the show came out,
like since the early few weeks of the show.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You'd bring some wrestlers next time.
Yeah, you're the guy from the...
You're very red right now.
I mean, that was kind of...
Come on.
And I've been in those wrestling locker rooms.
I didn't...
They don't know me.
I'm just telling you.
Welcome to the club.
Billy met Gerald McCoy.
I met parts of Derek Henry, and then met Kyle Brandt,
and now you're having your moment.
Mario met Stitch.
It's just weird to think about it.
It's just weird to think that, like, they watch that show.
Like, it doesn't feel, you know, it doesn't feel real.
They have Netflix accounts just like us.
Yeah, there's regular people.
Celebrities, they're just like us.
Who's up next, Shannon?
Let's go to Daniel.
Daniel.
By the way, the new denim uniforms are out.
You like them?
I do.
Do.
Do, looking.
Pretty much exactly like the old ones.
I love the, they do that different UK logo.
It's like the throwback.
I don't know how to describe it.
Got the little basketball on there on the shorts.
I love them.
I hope I can get my hands on some.
I hope so too.
I like them.
They look like we wanted them to, right?
I think that was exactly what they wore in 96.
Yep, and maybe they'll break out the All Blue another time, but these look great.
Look great.
All right.
Go ahead, Daniel.
Hey, Matt, the other day you talked about outdoor hockey,
75,000 hockey fans for Michigan State at Penn State last weekend.
They built the hockey arena inside the football stadium at Penn State.
That's a lot of people.
Yeah, I watched it.
It was crazy.
It was crazy.
See all those people, and it was freezing cold.
That was a very cool visual.
We talked about it on the show, and I love moments like that.
That's the kind of thing I would have loved to have been able to go to.
Yeah, me too.
I should have went.
It's only like an hour from where I live.
Well, hopefully they'll have it again next year and I can try again.
My other questions, could you guys just comment on LeBron's shoes that he wore in last night's game?
Yeah, very cool.
LeBron War, appreciate the call.
LeBron, we're custom U.K., LeBron 23 shoes with the UK logo on it last night for the Lakers game.
That's got, that's an awesome surprise, right?
Yeah, that's cool.
That's real, recognizing real.
I've said before, and I'll say again.
How about we don't say it again?
That was the one.
widest thing. Let's just remember who won the football
contest. That was the lightest thing. That was real.
That took place yesterday.
Real.
Like, literally.
Have you ever thrown a football before?
Don't deflect from what just happens.
Listen, you won the, first of all, you won the football thing.
Let's not act like your form was amazing.
Oh, come on, come on.
Secondly, the first 40 didn't go in.
That has nothing to do with that was real, recognizing.
Hey, there's that one guy.
You know who that is? That's the agent.
When I was a kid in the 80s, all the quarterbacks, he would be the agent.
Lee Steinberg.
Yeah.
Lee, I think his name.
Shannon, do you remember that guy?
Lee Steinberg?
Nope.
He was like Joe Montana's agent.
I think that's that guy.
He said, that's Mark Dunn.
Who's next?
Let's go to Jake.
He sure has.
Jake, go ahead, Jake.
Hey, good morning, guys.
Forgive me.
Good morning.
We've already covered this in hour of one.
but Malachi Moreno
tweeted a few hours ago
kind of clamoring for a whiteout this Saturday
and so I shared it on KS4
just kind of get some traction and share the word a little bit
I think nothing of it
come back two hours later and I see that
apparently fans have bullied him out of taking down
the tweets citing that we're Kentucky
and we don't do that
like where are the rules of the NCAA
to say that blue bloods aren't
Well, first of all, nobody gets to say, like, the fans don't get to say where Kentucky, we don't do it.
A whiteout would be awesome.
So, yes, if, I mean, I don't know if it's happening or not.
But if it is happening, it would be awesome.
And they don't get to say that it's not awesome.
So, you know, I don't know if Kentucky's going to do a whiteout or not.
If they're going to do it, they need to announce it this afternoon.
So fans have time to kind of to know and get it out.
But I'd be for it.
Kentucky's not above a whiteout.
Kentucky's the only thing we're above is storming the floor.
But a wideout is cool.
And we've done it in our history.
So anybody that says we've never done it, they don't know what they're talking about.
We've done it a number of times in our history.
Right.
I totally agree it.
So, yeah, I appreciate to all.
Do you agree with that?
I do.
I don't know.
It's fun.
That's part of it.
Yeah, it's fun.
Fun is like, this is supposed to be fun.
But he did mention.
Malachi did delete the tweet.
I just looked.
I don't know why.
Looks like we're backing out of the whiteout.
Well, it might have been the U.K.
Maybe we're doing it one later.
I don't know.
It may just been.
UK was like, well, we're not doing that.
So why don't you take that down because we're not doing it?
Well, it does take the collective effort.
Like, one player saying it isn't enough.
It's got to be everybody.
Behind it.
Emails need to go out.
Needs to be on the ticket.
Like, you really got to organize it.
Yeah.
All right.
Kentucky and Tennessee, do we know what the spread is?
I'm going to guess Kentucky by, I'm going to say Kentucky by like one and a half.
That's exactly what I was going to say.
Is it Kentucky one and a half?
Let's see if we have one yet.
All right.
While you're looking, while you're looking, you're looking, you're
You go to Draft Kings, bet five.
You can win $300 at Draft Kings.
Look at us, knowing ball.
Is it one and a half?
One and a half.
Look at us.
DK ambassadors there getting it right.
One and a half feels right.
Our pregame show will start tomorrow at six.
They'll be live from KS Bar, Cats, and the Vols.
Shannon, I'll let you go first.
What do you think is going to happen?
I think it's going to be a good game, but I think Kentucky pulls it out in the end.
So give me Kentucky.
Kentucky.
What score?
I'll go 78, 75.
All right, Billy.
I'm going to go Kentucky, too.
I think they sweep them in the regular season like last year.
I'm going to go Kentucky 82, Tennessee 78.
I think we'll be in for a little rock fight, and Kentucky pulls away at the very end to win 77.71.
But it's much closer the rest of the way before a little separation.
Our mind was melded right there.
I initially picked Tennessee, but I can't go into Kentucky, Tennessee.
game picking Tennessee for the second time in the year.
