Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the I-Heart Radio app,

Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where SportsSlice comes in.
I'm Timbo, and every episode we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments in sports and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment, and the stuff nobody gets to hear.

And for more, follow Timbo Slica Life 12 in the TikTok podcast network on TikTok.
What's up, guys?
This is Clivert Taylor the 4th.
And on my podcast, The Clivert Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of
stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue with 42.
A rep.
My mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Where's he at?
Hey, Miss Parker.
Listen to the Clifferts show on the IHeart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
What's up, fam?
It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano.
It's our favorite time of the year on our podcast point game, the playoffs.
We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season.
And I'm looking back on some of my greatest playoff moments.
If we didn't talk ever again, I was harmed.
You just understood.
That's how personal it got.
Wow.
Then after that game seven, Mark keep coming until he's like, you know I love you, dog.
You know, it's all love.
This was just playoffs.
This was just basketball.
So listen to Point Game on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
One of the biggest misconceptions about buying a home right now is that you have to wait for the perfect moment.
Perfect rates, perfect timing, perfect market.
The truth is, that moment doesn't really exist.
A lot of buyers pause because of headlines or assumptions.
But every situation is different.
Race change.
Market shift.
And personal goals matter just as much as what's happening nationally.
That's why talking to a local lender can be so valuable.
When you contact Stock the Mortgage, you get paired up with a local lender.
That lender will give you your options.
That lender will explain the situation.
You can ask your own questions.
That's what it's all about.
Get into the closing table as simple and as easy as possible.
Our friends at Stock the Mortgage focus on helping people and understand their options,
whether you're ready to buy now, later, or just starting to ask questions.
There's no pressure to make a decision, just a chance to get real information,

Welcome to Hour 2 of Kentucky Sports Radio,
presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Now here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back, Hour 2, Kentucky Sports Radio,
859-280-2287.
We got folks on the phone.
I'm going to get back to UK Auburn in a minute,
but, you know, we can't just do all two hours of this.
I wanted to talk about a couple other things.
Some fun.
At least one, not fun.
Hockey.
You watched the last of it.
Exciting.
Exciting.
I don't even know a lot about hockey,
but the way it ended like that for the United States was pretty cool.
It was awesome.
Great, third period was tense.
Shannon, did you watch it?
Saw the end of it, yeah.
Didn't watch the entire thing.
Did you watch the third period?
I had it on.
I was dialed in, but not completely just.
Very intense, just back and forth.
Canada.
dominated the third period and just got shot after shot on us.
And our goalie was like, and he like stopped it.
It was great.
It was awesome.
You also see the whole country thing because I know, you know, I know the Carolina
hurricanes and we had a hurricane on the, on the Canada team and on America team,
and they hit each other in the middle of the game.
Really?
Yeah, two teammates.
One was, they were like, look, different countries.
Bam!
That's right.
Plan for your country.
That's right.
And then the guy, Jack Hughes.
I mean, it's almost, it could have been a country music video, Shannon, right?
The guy Jack Hughes, who when I went to the Carolina Hurricanes Devil's game, I got tickets
right behind the devil's bench.
I have, like he was right in front of me.
He dates somebody famous.
Oh, he does.
And all the little girls were going crazy for him.
That's the guy who got the shot.
He gets the winning shot.
He had lost two of his teeth.
What a perfect hockey thing.
The main guy has lost two teeth and is bleeding out of his mouth.
and he smiles with the American flag.
Come on, what are you going to do?
That picture of him with the American flag
draped around him is just perfect.
Perfect.
Yeah, that's like an iconic image.
That's going to last forever.
That's good, Craig, after American on ice.
Like, if you're a hockey player and you're having that moment,
don't you want your front teeth knocked out?
Yeah, you want two of your, it's the only time in life you would want two of your
front teeth Shannon knocked out, right?
I would say that would be a great endorsement to have as a hockey player.
Yes, because then you can, that's exactly right, the cosmetic dentist that does your
team.
Like, is any, if you're a hockey player and you have your teeth, you're a wimpy hockey player, right?
That's true.
People kind of frown on you.
You got all your teeth.
What are you doing?
Yeah.
And then, what a sweet moment.
Johnny Goddrow, who they called Johnny Hockey.
You remember, he was the guy that died.
He and his brother were riding bikes.
The wedding.
At the other brother's wedding.
They both died.
He was, he's good and was, on the Olympic team, obviously, they brought his kids and they
took the team picture with the kids.
That was cool.
How he's jersey out there?
How cool is that?
They showed his parents after the game.
You know, the announcers were crying.
Mike Toriko was given like a speech.
Like it was awesome.
It was that was sports and television at its absolute best yesterday morning.
If it had been in prime time, that would have gotten like highest ratings ever.
Oh, yeah.
It was just so early in the morning.
Some people were at church, so they might not have seen it.
Yeah, I mean, those kids were adorable.
horrible. They've been carrying that jersey around
with them for the whole run. I mean, that's
been a big part of the story.
Went it on the exact date of the miracle
anniversary? I mean, there's so many
poetic things to lead in that gold
that it was one of those moments.
It's like the World Cup and the Olympics. We just all
get, I don't know much about the roster,
even what I'm looking at, but you get so into it.
I wish that had been
in prime time. That would have been a great
unifying
moment. It's just because it was in
the morning, I think not everybody saw it, but
still very cool. That's what makes the Olympic special, man. Like Drew said, I didn't know one player
on the United States team, but I saw they had USA on, so I'm pulling like crazy for them.
Yeah. And the guy who won the, he's brothers on the team. There's two brothers.
And I like the scenes of like there was a bar in Miami of Ohio. It looked like a million people
in there throwing stuff around at 10 in the morning. Yeah. You just don't get that at many
sporting events. Very cool. And yeah. So I enjoyed it. Now, a couple other things. Well, let's do
one sad thing.
Ron Del Moore.
From Trinity High School,
played at Purdue,
played in the NFL,
died of it.
Sounds like suicide, right?
I thought they're saying.
How awful.
25 years old?
I mean,
just terrible.
Played at Trinity under,
with the Brahms there?
He played a Brahmin at Purdue.
Play for Brom at Purdue.
That's right.
Just terrible.
I remember that famous game
where Purdue played Ohio State
at night and beat him, and he was like a freshman.
And he was like a revelate.
You were like, who is this guy?
I mean, he was insane.
Just a little dude just everywhere.
Just a terrible, sad story.
Broke my heart when I heard this yesterday,
because he is, without a doubt, one of the top,
maybe top five high school players, football players,
ever to come out of this state.
I mean, he was just...
Really? You would say that.
He was just exciting. He was great.
He could have gone anywhere, and he followed Jeff Brom to Purdue,
became a superstar up there,
in the NFL and man, it just breaks my heart to be so young.
And you've got to just talk to somebody, man.
If you're having problems, man, don't be afraid to reach out and talk to somebody.
Yeah, I mean, I guess he hadn't gotten to plot like he got cut from a couple teams this year.
He had two preseason season ending injuries back to back, both preseason.
So he missed two entire seasons with injuries, one in training camp and I think one in a preseason game back to back years.
Well, there's a lot of people listening to this that probably have some sort of relationship with him or
or know him and prayers to everyone involved.
That's just a tragic, tragic story.
And I hate to hear it.
Then you have what's happening in Porta Vayarta.
Yeah.
In Mexico.
So I guess the Mexican police kill the leader of a cartel.
And I've read books about these cartels.
Crazy stuff, Shadden.
Like the cartels in Mexico.
That's a group of people you do not want to mess with it.
No. And even the police don't want to mess with them usually, but they kill one of them.
I don't know what made them decide to go and do it because a lot of times they just pay the government off.
But now, I guess it's the Jalisco.
It's what's the name of that region?
They have like seven states, I think, in Mexico.
This is one of them.
And it's where Portoviart is and is it Tulum?
Is that a place?
That is a place.
Are they both there?
Or is it just Portovaliart.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Anyway, Portoviart, I think, is like the centerpiece.
And when he gets killed, it erupts into violence.
And of course, there are tons of Americans there partying.
Drew, you were supposed to be there.
Yesterday, my friend's wedding yesterday in Portoviour,
I know several people, including my best friend of 40 years is there right now,
hunkered down in a resort.
Family?
I mean, I know so many, I was invited to this wedding.
We weren't able to go.
So that could have been you.
Yeah, they're all hunkered down at a resort, just hoping.
So they're telling Americans don't leave your room.
Pretty much.
Are the airports closed?
Are they stuck?
Yeah, they closed yesterday.
I think they might be back open now.
How scared would you be, Shannon, if you were there?
Yeah.
And I've never been to Mexico.
So first trip to Mexico and you're on shutdown, that would be a really scary situation.
They tell you don't leave your room.
Yeah.
He sent me a video there just on the beach yesterday because we saw the news.
and we all got that friend group text.
We're all like, hey, y'all, good down there.
And he sends a video of the smoke, and it is not far away.
Like, the chaos is just down the beach from them.
A lot from what I've read, you know, there becomes kind of a stalemate when these cartels are in charge.
Like, everybody knows who's in charge and it's kind of corrupt, but there's order.
And then all of a sudden, you take him out and rival gangs are trying to take over.
and then people are, and then some of the people in the cartel are like trying to retaliate against the police.
It would be.
They burned down a Costco?
He burned down a Costco.
Why at Costco?
Probably represents.
And there's stuff in there.
Yeah.
You have a membership to get in there unless it's on fire.
I don't know.
It would be, there's a lot, like, I didn't realize Drew's friends were there until he told us this morning, but that would be a very scary situation.
I was worried about them all day.
I don't want to bug them and just blow up their phone.
They got a lot going on, but we are trying to check in as often as we can.
You're talking about this like an entire family down there for a wedding.
They're all just spent down there as a family.
Yeah, but imagine, I mean, they could just set the resort on fire or like the hotel that you're in.
Well, I mean, a lot of people would say, like from what I've always heard is, in general, they leave those places alone because they don't want to get the American government.
You know, if they.
And that's their economy.
And that's their, and if you take all these Americans hostage or you.
do something like the American government is going to retaliate.
So there's kind of like this, it's amongst us.
We kind of keep them separate.
But, you know, if you're there, that may not be solace in that moment.
Then how long are you stuck there?
There's the next question.
I don't know.
If anyone has a boat or a plane, want to go get a few people from Madison,
well, apparently.
Last night, some private jets left.
But the people who were regularly on planes were.
When are they supposed to fly home?
What day?
They were scheduled tomorrow because the wedding was yesterday.
I think they're still figuring all that out.
Can only imagine the chaos and what they're having to go through.
Yeah.
And then finally, I had a little Seth Davis.
You know, he's the worst.
I had a little back and forth with him.
A little.
Well, okay, so here was that the debate is about,
do the Sunday afternoon conference championship games count in the bracket?
Right.
All right.
Seth Davis was insisting they do.
Many years ago, I did the mock bracketing thing that they did for media.
Yes.
It was like 2013.
And at the time, they said, we kind of use it, but not really.
It's too late in the day.
I remember them saying it.
Mike Rutherford of Card Chronicle, I think he did it the next year.
He heard the same thing.
And then a guy named Jason Anderson, who was a radio host that used to live in Louisville,
He did it, and one time he even tweeted out that they had said that.
Okay?
And then there was the famous UK A&M in 2016, where we played them in the finals, beat them, and then they were seated higher than us.
Right.
They were a three and we were a four if we just beat them.
And I know for a fact, I'll take it to court.
I know it.
I know it.
I remember the committee guy saying one of those years, we can't consider it.
Do you all remember that?
Yes.
I know they said that.
So Seth Davis gets in this debate online with Mike Rutherford,
and he's being a jerk to Mike, and Mike's a U of L guy, but still, Mike's right.
And Seth's going, you know, you all may have misremembered.
But I'm telling you, Fox, they do consider it.
And I'm not saying Seth has not been told they do consider it.
But it annoyed me that he was like, you little peasants, you don't remember.
I, Seth Davis.
I do.
Good Seth Davis.
So I read it on Twitter, that same voice.
Peasants.
Off with your head.
So I take up for mine.
Yes.
And I say, look, man, you may have heard something different, but that doesn't mean these other people are wrong.
And he was like, be a reporter.
Give me facts.
Well, Shannon, like, at that point, I'm like, are you shut up, you'll snod?
Your response to that was really good.
I'm like, first of all, I'm not a report.
Well, before that, I say something like, what facts do you have?
You're just saying that's what you heard.
Why is your word better than mine and mics?
Uh-huh.
Right?
Pizzins.
And then he says,
a reporter and so I say
I'm not a reporter
oh and by the way
snot head neither are you
so for a little
background he's the one that broke
the story that Drew and I were getting sued by
John Higgins. He called
me at work at the TV station
and goes by the way
there's going to be a lawsuit filed against you
Higgins had worked with him on
this okay it's not just
that he broke the story he had it before
the case was even filed
Which means Higgins had to have told him.
Right?
Sure.
And he wrote this story that was not just like we were being accused of it.
He wrote that Drew and I did it.
It was fat.
He acted like Drew and I went on the radio and said,
call this man, which we didn't.
And I told him in the phone call,
everything you're writing is false.
And he wrote it anyway.
And he goes, well, you know, that's what he's saying.
So that's what we're putting.
and it annoyed me because we had audio proof.
I was like, Seth, I'll send you the show.
And you can hear we didn't say it.
And he didn't want it.
He refused my audio proof.
Annoid me to know it.
Then when we won the lawsuit, I said,
will you write a story?
You wrote the story that said we were guilty.
That story was cited in sports.
illustrating the New York Times as an example of Drew and I being bad guys.
Now that we've won, will you write the story that we won?
And I'll read you the freaking text here on me.
Which is classic.
Shannon, I got receipts.
I hear you.
All right.
Classic.
I got receipts.
Here, I'm pulling it up.
Sorry, I didn't have this up.
Get your receipts.
Seth Davis.
Sharpie.
It's worth it.
Sharpie.
March 20th, 2019.
Higgins, Kate.
this from me. Higgins case dismissed. I hope you guys cover it as you did the
filing. Here's his response. Congrats. Have you tweeted the
news? I will retweet it. As I explained you before,
we only published the story at the outset because we had the exclusive. I just
check with my editor and we're not going to write a story about this.
So I don't want to have the facts get in the way of their
sensationalized story. And he's
always going to be full of it. Oh yeah. For that reason.
How he got on these shows, I don't know.
He didn't play.
Former player, right?
He didn't coach.
And I'll also note and then I'll shut up.
He tweets all the time, be kind.
I do think people should be kind.
But he's not kind in the least.
No, he's not.
So.
I'd rather enjoy your little back and forth with him on Saturday.
You should have seen mine.
Well, you know, sometimes you
right and then you get a lot of backup from people other places going,
I can't say this publicly, but.
But.
There have been three times I've gotten a lot of I can't say this publicly but.
That's one of them.
Dan Dockich.
Yeah.
Seth Greenberg and Seth Davis.
There are a lot of I can't say this publicly but.
Seems to be a common denominator in those three guys.
I'll say it publicly.
but he's a snot
I'll be right back

I'm talking, Tripp Fontaine, Ryan Clark.
Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase
that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross, because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth?
Or are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.

What's up, fam?
Miss Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us
on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nass would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court, licking his fingers
why he got the ball.
Like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah,
you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court,
and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the,
iHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
There are times when the mind becomes a difficult place to live.
This is David Eagleman with the Inner Cosmos podcast, and for Mental Health Awareness Month,
we're dedicating a series to understanding the mind when it struggles.
I'm joined by doctors, researchers, and those with lived experience.
We'll talk with singer-songwriter Jewel about anxiety.
I started living in my car, and then my car got stolen.
I was shoplifting, I was having panic attacks, I was agoraphobic.
And making it through hardship.
To be present is a learned skill, and it's hard to be present.
We'll talk with John Nelson about clinical depression and the brain implant that saved his life.
What I learned is that procedure made me happy because I'm disease-free.
And we'll talk with leading experts like Judd Brewer about anxiety,
and John Hirschfield about obsessive-compulsive disorder.
and the science of how the brain can change.
This is a month of deeply personal and honest conversations about what happens when the brain goes off course and what we can do about it.
Listen to Inner Cosmos on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
It's a great song.
This is a stupid song, Shannon, but a good one, right?
In this border town fog.
Tim McGraw has a lot of stupid songs.
He does, but I kind of like them.
Do you want fries with that?
It's another stew.
I don't like that one.
I mean, we've taught many times over the years about how Indian outlaw is kind of a blatantly racist song.
And yet, I do say, half Cherokee and Chuck Tall.
It's still a good song.
This one is dumb.
So is down on the farm.
Yeah.
But I do like it.
Wanting to kill you.
I like Tim McGraw.
I do too.
I would go see Tim McGraw.
you know bourbon and beyond has their days now shannon what playing each day yeah they've loaded up
they yeah they they they've loaded up saturday and sunday for me yeah those are the days a lot of
country foot yeah food fighters and joan jet or thursday but i don't know if that's an i don't know
maybe i just go to the food fighters yeah friday is not really for me but saturday and sunday is
loaded saturday's country day yes chris staplet so it's chris stapleton uh red clay stray
Jason Isbell, Charlie Crockett.
They're all that day.
And then Sunday is just like basically millennial.
Nineties.
Gen X.
Like, I mean, it's all of them.
Hootie, counting crows, Dave Matthews, all those ones we said they're all on the same day.
Better than Ezra.
Yeah.
So excited.
Yeah.
Stop overpaying for sun gases.
If you're tired of buying expensive sunglasses only to lose or break them,
Shady Ray's an independent American-owned company.
Start right here in Kentucky.
Premium polarized shades for every activity from their take.
single free aviators that won't get stuck in your hair to their color rush lenses.
Great sunglasses, great price.
It is shady rays.
I'm going to go to the phone.
By the way, I did the vote on the Pope thing.
Probably 60-40 pro.
Yeah, really.
So fans were more cool with his conversation than I think a lot of people on the media online,
etc.
Fans may be more like, hey, because in some ways that is like a post-game show caller
mentality. We got cheated.
Yeah. So you think that's because those fans agree with, they got cheated, so they're going
to agree with what Pope said. I think so. I think so. It's also easy when like you don't have
to have the responsibility of having done it to say, yeah, get them. You know, but I'm not surprised
about that. I kind of felt like more people were cool with it than was, than a lot of people
realized. So there's no coaches show tonight because they're traveling. So the coach show will be Wednesday
night.
Yeah, so he may not even have to end up.
He'll get asked about it though at the...
Tonight, I mean, after the game tomorrow night?
Probably, especially if we win and people then are like, can we talk about what happened
the other day?
Yeah.
Joe, go ahead, Joe.
Hey, guys, thanks for taking my call.
Real quick, just a couple of frustrations.
You know, Kentucky basketball can't compete, obviously, with the globalness of the Olympics
or even tragedies like Ron Delmore, but the frustrating part is, like, I go on the
SPN app, and they're not even.
even moving the needle. You know, you can't even
hold it, you can't find them. You have to
go to look for it. We're not right. We're not ranked.
Yeah, right. And so now is it
time to start after a year
and a half, almost two years of
now, and over the recruiting issues
and all this stuff, is it time to say,
Mark, we love you, but are you up
to the job? Because even Cal said, like not everybody can play here, but
also not everybody can coach here. Yeah. I like Mark Pope. I think he's a very
good coach, but is the up to the time. I mean, well,
I think you're going to, for me, and this is just me, and I appreciate the call, everybody gets to make that decision you're asking on their own.
For me, that will be what next season is about.
Next season, Mark Pope will have to prove to me whether he's up for this job.
For some people, that's this season, and they're already ready to make a change.
I think more people are willing to give him, but give him more time.
For me, it will come down to next year, and it will, my judgment day will start April,
first because from April 1st to April 15th is the portal.
So the first judgment is, are we going to have a team next year?
And then my second judgment is going to be how you're going to coach that team next year.
But next year for me is the year.
And I think Mark knows that.
Mark knows that.
He's not dumb.
He knows that what the means is sitting that chair and what's happening right now is not really
acceptable.
If he goes and makes a run, though, to like the Sweet 16 or the Elite 8, it's a different
circumstance.
Absolutely it is.
So they do still have that card.
Justin, go ahead, Justin.
Hey, guys.
How y'all doing?
Good.
For me, I guess the most frustrating part to me is, I mean, of course I won't wins,
but like it's frustrating just watching them.
So I used to look forward to like watching Kentucky games.
It was the best day of the week.
And now it's just like, man, can this game just get over?
Like, I know that sounds bad, but it's just like in the midst of a game,
they get up eight points and then Pope makes three subs.
And then it's like, then the team comes back.
Then we get behind.
It's just like the same story.
Well, we didn't talk about that.
I appreciate the call.
The moment in the first half when he puts four subs in.
We jumped out ahead.
Can't I do that?
Jumped out on them and had the lead.
Not at the same time.
I get they have to have minutes, but you don't have to play four at once off the bench.
Andy Bashir says we can't be doing that.
As soon as he did that, eight two run on them.
Yep.
there is just such a gap between the starters and the bench and if Kentucky's going to do anything
those guys have to find another level I mean Otega Oway has had back-to-back career days and you've
lost both games he's been incredible but there's nothing well Aberdeen little guys here and
there but overall I mean he's been kind of a one-man show lately and they're not getting wins you cannot
play Jasper Noah and Garrison together you just can't and he does all the time you can't
Play them, but they can't all be in at the same time.
We'll take a break.
Very back. KS.R.
T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney.
Call T.J. He'll make them pay.
Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.
I'm impressed you know this song.
This is new.
Charlie Crockett.
So this is Charlie Crockett.
His new single, been in Kentucky too long.
I've not heard this.
He came out 10 days ago.
Came out 10 days ago. I heard it on the radio.
on what outlaw country.
I just, I like it.
Now, I mean, there's no such thing as being in Kentucky too long, though, right?
True.
I mean, as the coach, maybe.
Oh, that's what he was talking about.
Oh, you're doing.
You mentioned Arkansas too, you know.
He said it's a song about Calgary.
Well, I think he got in trouble in Arkansas.
Oh, it's a reverse.
It came to Kentucky.
And he said he came to Kentucky.
Turn it up.
Or maybe it's the other way around.
Did he get in trouble in Kentucky?
I don't know.
Either way, he got stopped at the Canadian border yesterday.
Have you seen this?
Charlie Crockett?
He was supposed to have a tour in Canada.
Former KSR guest Charlie Crockett stopped at the border, not allowed in the country.
So then he goes to a different place, stopped in again, not allowed in the country.
And he's having to cancel his whole concerts.
Canada won't let him in?
Yeah.
I haven't seen why they didn't let him in.
He has a small charge in Virginia from 11 years ago.
go for like marijuana something, but not, not anything too big. So you can't get into Canada
if you have a marijuana charge? Well, he tweeted what Canada gave him, I guess. And it says like this
in Canada is life in prison or something. So it's all related to- You get life in prison for marijuana.
I thought you could smoke wherever you wanted in Canada. He posted like what they sent him.
It even says he's tried to enter twice. It's like an official document from Canada. But it's related
to something in Virginia 10 or 11 years ago. And it would be life in prison. I always thought Canada was
a lot easier on that stuff.
Yeah, it said something about intent to sell,
but then the weight was not much.
So I don't know, but I guess Canada is taking it very serious.
I think Canada would be in Canada too long at that point than if you get stuck there.
Wow, that's interesting.
So I, because I felt like, I guess I never thought,
if you get in trouble in America for something and you serve your time,
can you not go to Canada?
Charlie Crocker can't.
There's got to be people who go to Canada who've been arrested for drugs at some point
in America.
Probably all the time.
unless your name is Charlie Crockett, then you've got to stay in Kentucky.
All right.
Well, I appreciate the call.
That ain't a call.
I'm going to call.
I'm going to call.
I mean, I have his number.
We should call and get his official statement.
That's true.
He was a fun guest. Yeah, he was a fun guest.
He was a fun guest.
859-2802287.
Text machine is 772-77525-4.
One person writes, Matt, four games left.
How many do we have to win to make the tournament?
And everyone predict our record in the last four.
I think we only have to make one to definitely make the tournament.
But I do think we have to win one.
I'm going to say we go two and two.
I'm going to say we beat South Carolina
and then we win either the Vandy or the A&M game.
So I'm going to say two and two.
What do you think?
I like that.
I'll say it's the Vandy win.
A&M on the road.
They have a deep bench, score a lot of points.
We have a bench.
I'll say Vandy being a home game.
I hate the thought of it. Even though it's Florida and Vandy,
you can't go 0-2 in Rupp Arena in the year when you're so desperate.
So I'll say they get Vandy and then South Carolina tomorrow.
They have to, have to, have to win South Carolina tomorrow night.
That is no excuse if you lose that game.
Then you come back and you get Vandy.
You owe Vandy, man.
They punked you down there at their place.
You owe them.
At Texas S&M will be really hard.
So you're going to say two and two?
Two and two.
Shannon?
I think we all agree on this.
I think Kentucky wins the next two, loses the last two.
Two and two.
And if they're two and two, first of all, let's talk about the SEC tournament for what were you going to say.
I'll say if they lose tomorrow, though, they're going on four.
I think that's right.
I think if they lose tomorrow, they are going on and four.
And then you're firmly on the bubble.
Then you might not make it.
Then you're 17 and 14.
And then you'd probably play.
So let's talk about the SEC tournament scenarios.
Folks, there's a really good chance we play on Wednesday.
Then you tweeted this.
If the season ended today, we would play on Wednesday.
day, but the teams that we're kind of competing with, their schedules get easy and ours
gets hard.
Yeah, Auburn's got a fairly easier schedule the rest of the way out.
If you were to, I think at best, unless we go three and one, at best we're looking at
being the eight C.
So for those of you thinking about the SEC tournament, I think we're going to be playing
at one o'clock.
Wednesday or Thursday.
But it might be Wednesday.
We might lead off the SEC tournament.
If you take Ken Palm's projections and just finish the season,
they have Kentucky going one and three and playing the first game on Wednesday against South Carolina.
Now let me tell you a couple things about, I want you to imagine about that.
Isn't that general admission?
I don't know if they still do it.
I don't think they do it.
Well, they used to do it for free.
Yes, for many years it was.
I don't think it's free anymore.
But I do think it's general admission.
Noah signed tickets.
Open seating.
And I think it's like $10.
Shannon, can you imagine a Kentucky game in the SEC?
that's first come first serve at $10?
Well, I mean, the fans were still going to be there, so you'd have a full house.
First of all, people would start lining up at 6 a.m.
Yeah, no doubt.
We had this conversation last year.
They had to win at Missouri to get out of Wednesday.
I think that first game, the day session on Wednesday, is general admission like 10 bucks.
1130 local time.
11. There will be, that would be insane.
So do we do our show at 10 roof on Wednesday morning?
No.
I think we just, we do it Thursday, and then if we lose Wednesday, hell, no one's going to want to come anyway.
Yeah.
I mean, if you go 0 and 4, but even if we go 1 and 3, I think there's a good chance we play Wednesday.
I think we have to go 2 and 2 to not.
Not play on Wednesday?
To not play on Wednesday.
Which is, I mean, this program should never be playing on Wednesday.
We used to enjoy those Wednesday games just because they were throwaway games.
You're going to think Kentucky's going to be one of those throwaway games?
And in the big picture, to get to that, you would have lost six of seven games.
Yeah.
Which ending the year was six out of seven losses.
I don't care about your injuries.
You've had some games you should have won.
That would be a horrible ending for this year.
Yeah.
I just want you to think about a Wednesday one SEC tournament game, general admission, $10.
We always hear Nashville and they write the stories about it in the Tennessean when Kentucky doesn't make the weekend the impact.
What if Kentucky doesn't make Thursday the impact?
I will say, though, that would be a heck of an atmosphere.
You just open the doors, $10,000 and let Kentucky fans in.
It would feel like a home game.
It would be probably one of the wilder crowds you could get of Kentucky fans.
Be like when we made the NIT at Memorial.
Yeah.
That was a great crowd.
Well, those crowds start drinking at 5 a.m.
But if it's 10 bucks and that's the way, like, anyone can go.
And the other fan bases wouldn't do that.
Carolina ain't going to be there.
That's who we'd probably be playing.
They're not going to be there.
No, not at all.
Last year before the final game of the year,
I think I even bought a couple of general missions for this reason
because we had this conversation up until the very end,
and they luckily played their way out of it.
It's definitely on the table now.
Let's go to Josh.
Go ahead, Josh.
Hey, guys, I admit I might be a little bit like Charlie Crockett here
and being in Kentucky too long, making something out of nothing.
That's definitely possible.
But I wanted to bring up a conversation that was there between Bruce Pearl and Courtney Green.
Courtney Green was mocked up during the CBS Sports Classic.
It was Bruce Pearl's first game calling for CBS Sports.
And before the game started, Courtney comes over and like Daps up Bruce Pearl.
And Bruce says to Courtney, he says, take care of Stephen for me.
He says, no seriously, help him out when you have a chance.
And Courtney says, absolutely, absolutely.
I know it's probably nothing,
but I wonder if it might be part of what Mark Pope was talking about the personal stuff.
So where did that air again, remind me?
It was during the CBS Sports Classic.
Okay.
Like before the game started, they had Courtney Green miked up.
And so they played it like as a clip before the game started during the St. John's game.
I see.
Yeah.
Yeah, I don't know.
I mean, my guess is they're just joking there.
I'm kind of surprised CBS aired that.
I was too.
Yeah.
But, I mean, I can see why that's.
But I mean, I will say, and I appreciate the call.
The way I got to know Courtney was he always did Cal's camp,
and I think he and Cal were good.
You know, to some extent these referees have relationships with these coaches.
So, but I didn't know that clip was out there.
That would be, that's odd.
I don't think Mark Pope would say that unless he had a reason to say it was personal.
Somebody needs to ask him.
Yes.
I mean, somebody needs to ask him when you said personal, what did you mean?
What are you talking about?
Right.
Yeah.
Also, when he was talking about people coming to me, this to the program, he listed the fans first, both times he did it.
He did.
I was kind of like, whoa, wait a minute.
What's that all about?
I'm going to assume the question was about officials.
I did think it was weird.
He said fayette.
Because he did it again on radio, and both times he listed everybody, and fans were the first thing he said both times.
be careful when you do that.
There is a rule of thumb that is 100% accurate.
When you start blaming the fans,
you're on a path towards it not working.
Yes, got to be careful.
It's a slippery slope.
I've seen two coaches do it,
and they both were gone that year,
Cal and Stoops.
Yeah.
They both did it in the last year.
They both started talking about the fans.
I'm going to assume Mark was doing it like a generic.
I'm going to list bunches of people and the fans are one and not take personally that it was.
But you know, you can't go down that path.
These fans, I would also say to Mark, these fans have loved you.
Right.
Outside of those first 12 hours after it got announced, these fans have loved Mark and continue to want him.
No one has anything against Mark Pope.
No one.
right correct so personally we want you to succeed all of us yep we want it i'm not going to say we want it
as much as you but we want it so and i hope he knows that don't let aches and pains follow

Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing,
we get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and.

What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano and our podcast, Point Game is about defying the odds.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series because when they don't have
have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nash would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court licking his fingers while he got the ball.
Like, after you go through a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court, and you're going to get the ball.
So listen to Point Game on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
There are times when the mind becomes a difficult place to live.
This is David Eagleman with the Inner Cosmos podcast, and for Mental Health Awareness Month,

I was shoplifting, I was having panic attacks, I was agoraphobic.
And making it through hardship.
To be present is a learned skill and it's hard to be present.
We'll talk with John Nelson about clinical depression and the brain implant that saved his life.
What I learned is that procedure made me happy because I'm disease-free.
And we'll talk with leading experts like Judd Brewer about anxiety and John Hirschfield about obsessive-compulsive disorder.
and the science of how the brain can change.
This is a month of deeply personal and honest conversations

Welcome back, Tughey Sports Radio, 859, 2807.
Some folks online tell me that in the context,
they think he was talking about opposing teams fans,
like opposing teams fans getting in your head
that would make sense to me
that would make more sense
I hope that's what he was talking about
I got to admit
I didn't take it that way when he said
I thought he was talking about our fans
I would have to hear the whole context
because I heard the question
but only the end of it so I don't know
yeah I don't know
he did say the fans
but you don't think it could have been opposing
man yes could have been I just
I didn't take it that way when he said it
One person writes, last year, Matt, Arkansas came in and was the nine seed to the SEC tournament, had to play the first game.
Had they lost, might not have made the tournament.
They won and ended up in the Sweet 16.
Went on a run.
Could that be us?
Could?
I could honestly, that wouldn't be a crazy scenario.
Yeah, our seed in the NCAA tournament will be better than our seed in the SEC tournament.
What's interesting is you'd almost rather be an 11 seed in the NCAA tournament.
than an eight or nine.
I've always believed that.
Yeah.
Right?
Because eight or nine's got to play a one second game.
A six seed's not that much different than an eight seed.
But there's a big difference usually between a one and a three in the second room.
So I've always kind of thought you'd almost rather be an 11 than an eight or nine.
Yeah.
I hear your point.
It just makes me sad that we even have to have these conversations.
I agree.
I miss the intimidation.
I miss being in the conversation.
I miss when they're previewing.
the tournament where the logo that's featured.
None of that has happened in a while and it's not going to happen this year.
Maybe we make a run, but the excitement and the, oh, look out for Kentucky will not exist.
We'll have to surprise people and steal maybe every game in the tournament.
That's true.
Tyrese Halliburton is out.
Well, he was out because of his injury.
Yeah.
But then he also has announced that he has shingles.
So shingles is one of those diseases that I hear about.
And I don't totally know what it is.
I had a friend who had it recently, and it looked awful.
Apparently, it's very painful.
I've never had it.
I don't know.
So what is it?
It's like adult chicken pox, right?
I think you're right.
It is like adult chicken box.
How do you get it?
I always think of old people getting it.
But then I have a friend, a good friend of mine from high school, who got it on his face,
and it was the worst-looking thing I've ever seen.
I know Terry Bradshaw was like a spokesman for shingles.
He would just knock on your door and say, hey, you got to be.
He's a spokesman for the disease.
He's pro the disease.
He would say, hey, he's got shingles.
I'm here.
I could give you some shingles if you want it.
Topical cream.
He's rub on the shingles.
Do you know anyone that's had shingles?
Yeah.
And I know it's very painful.
How do you get it?
I don't know.
Do you know how you get it?
I don't know.
Is it contagious like chicken pox?
I don't know.
I've never known anyone.
Do you have to have had chicken pox or not had chicken pox?
Don't know.
So we don't know much about it.
It's one of those diseases that sounds.
that sounds gross.
Yeah.
Right?
I'll give you another one.
I'm not going to say who,
because they're my friend,
and I don't want to embarrass them.
But I know someone that has gout.
Yeah.
I know if you do with gout.
It's really hard.
I just think of lunch ladyland.
So do I.
But you think of gout is like,
ugh.
Yeah, awful.
But this is like a normal person.
I know that has gout.
What is gout?
Something with your feet, right?
On your feet.
What happens?
happens. It's like a rash or something on your feet, isn't it?
Why do you get that? I don't know.
So it's a very, your diet is a big part of it. I know to get better, I think you stay away
from red meat, maybe. But what does it do to you? I don't know. I just, I know people have
had it and they could not walk. Like I've been with them. Yes. And it's like. And I,
my friend that has it, we would sometimes get together and he'd be like, my gout is acting up.
Yeah. And he would go every time. And I would go, like, he would be like, don't look at me like.
bad. I don't need to know what you're doing
your private life. Yes, I kind of think, look, be careful
who you're with. You know,
like, have some
discreet. No, that's not it. You're right. Both of those diseases are you hear
about and I don't really know anything about them. I think
Halberton has an opportunity here with shingles.
He could teach all of us. He could teach us. And then
LeBron could teach us about gout.
Brown has gout?
Well, I'm not, listen, I didn't say
that. Don't be putting
words in my mouth. I didn't say LeBron had
Gout. I'm just saying if he did,
he could teach us.
Yes. Well, Halliburton
admitting he's got us talking about it, and we'll
find out a little bit about it.
The internet says it's, it
typically occurs in people older than 50. So
Halliburton. What, shingles? Yeah. Singles and I
gout. I thought it was like
when you were in bed too long.
He has been
injured. Maybe he's just been laying around. I feel like
I feel like you get it at nursing homes.
You get a lot of nursing homes.
It does seem like it's a disease that would spread at a nursing home.
Well, anyway.
We're not experts.
It better, Tyrese Albert.
Yes, please, Pacers need you.
All right.
Let's go to Cam.
Go ahead, Cam.
What's up, guys?
My birthday was Saturday, man.
Really disappointed.
We didn't come away with the win.
I want to give a shout out to my cousin, Jr., my friend Kelsey.
She's having a baby.
Shout out.
Super huge UK fans.
I thought you were going to say it was a super huge baby.
I thought so, that's kind of a strange thing to say.
Well, you know, there are other baby.
He's a strong boy, so maybe the little girl be a strong one.
But yeah, man, I'm getting to the point where I'm getting pretty apathetic with the program,
kind of like I did toward the end of Stoom's career.
I don't really keep up with the time of the games anymore.
I'll turn the TV on.
Oh, I forgot.
We're playing tonight.
Don't really expect us to win it.
anymore. It's really sad, man. It's frustrating.
Yeah, I hate
in the show like that, man.
I understand. And I get that, and I hope
that that does need to go away.
I appreciate the call, because when we do have that,
that's bad. All right, two quick games. Draft Kings.
Go to Draft Kings. Promo Code
KSR.
Bet five, you can win up $200
in bonus bets. Two big games tonight
on Draft Kings. Let's go for them. Louisville
is at North Carolina.
Louisville, two and a half point favorite in
Chapel Hill. Louisville's playing better.
North Carolina's got some guys still out hurt. I'm going Louisville.
I don't like Louisville winning on the road.
Shannon.
Give me North Carolina at home.
Give me the heels.
Going to win at home.
Houston at Kansas.
How does Kansas always play at home on Monday night?
Every single game.
They didn't show up on Saturday.
They didn't, but this is Monday.
Monday is different.
And they do not lose at home on Monday night.
I've said this.
Houston's a one and a half point favorite.
Give me the rock chalks.
Yeah, Houston just lost at home right to Arizona.
Houston's lost, I think, three in a row, maybe.
I'm going Kansas, Monday night at home over Houston, yes.
Maybe two in a row.
Peterson probably won't even play.
I'm going to go Houston.
Yeah, I'll go Houston just with all the drama they have around him.
The Peterson drama is crazy.
It is.
He played the whole game, though, against Cincinnati.
And they got run.
But what is the number one rule of basketball?
Kansas does not lose at home on a Monday night.
On a Monday night. It's Monday night.
Winter, winner chicken dinner.
Are they at home?
Yes, they are.
Rock Chalk.
Jayhawk.
Two good games, though, tonight.
Those are two good games.
We'll see you tomorrow.
We'll be at the bar Wednesday and Thursday.
It's KSR.
