Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

One of the biggest misconceptions about buying a home right now is that you have to wait for the perfect moment.
Perfect rates, perfect timing, perfect market.
The truth is, that moment doesn't really exist.
A lot of buyers pause because of headlines or assumptions.
But every situation is different.
Race change, market shift, and personal goals matter, just as a lot of buyers.
much as what's happening nationally.
That's why talking to a local lender can be so valuable.

Just got a message for one of my friends
starting to see some of the big blue mist in Nashville,
not quite what it is normally,
but there are a lot of Kentucky fans here.
It's cool to hear that guy called in right at the end of the first hour.
He's in line with other UK fans waiting to get in for the game today.
That's kind of cool to hear that.
I don't know if this is a compliment, Shannon.
Somebody writes, as a woman, I want to agree with the guy.
It's fine.
Ryan's a harmless, dirty old man, not a creepy old perv.
There's a big difference.
Really?
Dirty old man, creepy old perv.
I would file under the same category under the same umbrella.
She says there's a distinction.
Wow.
That's good, Ryan.
It's a backhanded compliment, right?
That's kind of a compliment.
I don't even know if I even agree with her.
Well, you think you're creepy?
I can be a little cringy.
Yeah.
Yeah, you can.
I think she's trying to say, though, well, my vote is let's get in none of those categories.
Yes.
And just be regular.
Dakota Johnson has a new Calvin Klein ad campaign.
I saw it. I've seen it.
Calvin Klein's all up in the JFK show.
Oh, really?
That's my, that's my dirty.
Your guilty pleasure.
That show is awful.
It's awful, but it's actually kind of great.
And I feel like, I feel like the, it just reminded me how much better the 90s
were Shannon than everything else.
Yeah.
Except for the cigarettes.
The cigarettes, I'm anti-cigarette.
But besides the cigarettes, the 90s were just better.
Pop culture was better.
Pop culture is better.
Music's better.
You name it all across the board.
Pre-9-11.
Economy was good.
Did everybody say that though back in my day?
I don't know if they realized it or not, but I think we're going to look back in hindsight
and say that pre-computers, we didn't have to worry about being available 24 hours a day.
But we're the old men now saying that everything was good.
No, but I think it's true.
I think even young people are kind of nostalgic about it.
Just like Shannon, when we were young, people were nostalgic about like the 60s.
Yeah.
Right?
They were like, oh, we missed all the great times in the 60s.
Right.
I'm going to say the 90s were.
Before we got addicted to these phones, we still did face-to-face things.
Yeah.
Yeah, but if you wanted to find something out, you had to go to a library, look it up.
But that's okay.
We don't need to know all this stuff.
Now I can just pull up my phone and boom, there it is.
But maybe we don't need to know everything.
Yeah.
No AI.
Good.
Yeah.
Yeah.
All right.
Kentucky and LSU.
I'm going to go to the phone here in just one second.
LSU's without their backup big.
Robert Thomas or whatever, he's going to be out.
He's been playing well recently.
I don't remember if he played well against us,
but that gives them one less big.
Probably not a huge difference.
Do you feel good?
Actually, I do, and that's why I pick Malachi to be my player of the game.
They're a little thin in the front court,
and, you know, he came coming off the Malachi Miracle shot,
first SEC tournament, the kids are going to play well today for Kentucky.
Dakota Johnson is Don Johnson's daughter?
Yeah, Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson's daughter.
How did I not know that?
I don't know.
Not up on pop culture, I guess.
We're talking about Robert Miller too, right?
Not Robert Thomas from LSU.
I'm talking about Dakota Johnson.
Robert Miller.
You said Robert Thomas.
I'm going to talk about the LSU.
I'm sorry, I don't keep the LSU roster on my Rolodex.
And I don't have a Rolodex anymore.
And I had one in the 90s and it was good.
It was better.
You remember when we played them down there,
It was a must-win game for them.
They played really well.
Now they got nothing to play for.
I mean, they're not going to the tournament.
Well, and some people think there's, is their coach getting fired?
I think he's probably going to get fired.
Yeah, because they're talking about trying to bring Will Wade back.
Are they really?
They bring him back.
Yeah, there are some people in LSU that want that.
Although I don't, I think NC State's probably a better job where he is now.
Well, I don't know if you'd bring somebody back.
Who is their coach?
Matt McMahon still?
Yeah, that's it.
He was from Murray, right?
Yes, uh-huh, that's right.
I do not know how I know that.
How'd you pull that one out?
I don't know.
I'm really surprised I know who LSU's coach is.
Let's talk about what happens if we,
we talked earlier about what happens if we win.
What happens we lose?
What's the post game show like today if we lose?
Apocalyptic?
There'll be people calling for Pope's firing immediately.
They will not be happy if they lose to LSU in the first game of the SEC tournament
on a Wednesday.
They'll be people that won't have.
fired, gone.
16 seat.
Else use the last seat.
Yeah.
Don't you think people,
you'll get people calling for him?
And they'll want you to call for it.
Well, I'm not going to call for it with the tournament next week.
And I'm not going to probably call for it anyway because I don't believe that.
But I will say, you know, this would be another strike.
Yep.
Because I told you I judged the season on three criteria.
He has already failed or de-plussed.
this regular season?
One, now we have two and three.
And
can't
I mean, you know, if we get to Friday
and we lose, like you're playing Florida,
they might win the national championship.
I'm not going to go crazy.
Now, it is your fault.
You're in a situation where you may have to play them Friday.
But if you lose to LSU
in the first round,
you know, well, it is what it is.
Now, a name got floated around.
yesterday.
It's still not clear to me whether or not
Mark Pope's hiring a GM.
Why don't you just come out?
But he won't say, he will not call it a GM.
Yes.
He'll just say we're hiring people to do things.
You know, there's some stubbornness now coming on this.
So there's some guy that people are talking,
that was at BYU and now's with the Milwaukee Bucks.
But it sounds like he would not be a GM.
He would be some sort of analytic.
something model. He kept saying model. He said that three or four times in the
post comments model. He said model quite a bit. Look at the models. Yeah. I don't think we
need any more models. It's just it's a glaring a mission if every team's got one except
you and St. John's. Yeah. And Rick Petino, you know, he's won.
They won the Big East Championship. But it's probably terrible that Drew was right. It's the fact
that St. John's got rid of it
because, you know, he's so
connected to risk.
Yes.
Well, anyway,
the guy that they mentioned, I don't know him,
he may be great at it,
but it just looks like they're not going to.
I mean, the portal's going to open in what?
The portal opens in three weeks,
but it's not even about that.
You need, like, there are guys every day
who their season is ending.
Let me give an example.
Last night,
who won between,
Was it Sienna and Merrimack?
Don't know.
I think it was Sienna and Merrimack.
Merrimack had a dude that's averaging 24 points a game as a freshman
and was player of the league in that league.
I think Sienna beat him.
Yeah, they do.
So Maramac, that guy is now ready to be talked to.
He's a free agent.
And if he's averaging 24 points a game as a freshman in that,
he's going somewhere.
Now, I'm not saying we should get him.
I don't know him.
but like teams are going to start contacting him to that.
Yeah.
Right.
And we don't have anybody in place to do that.
And we don't have anybody in place.
So I don't know if you want the guy from Merrimack,
but I will tell you a freshman at 24 points a game,
you got at least look at him from Miss Mary, Mac, Mac, Mac, all dressed in black.
You might want him.
And then there was a kid at the Hofster game.
The MVP of that tournament was a freshman who averaged 26.
points a game in the conference tournament.
You got it.
He's going to go somewhere else.
Yeah.
You got to put yourself in position.
You got a chance to these guys.
And I hope we, I assume we have guys who know who these people are, but it feels like if
you're going to have a GM, you'd want to have them.
That's what a GM's job is for.
Because Merrimack guys' phones ringing today.
Yes.
So, Joe, go for it, Joe.
Joe, go ahead.
Hey, Matt.
Hey, Matt.
Let me want to show.
I want to give a shout out to, uh, uh,
Grayson County, Cougars win in third region last night.
Who?
Grayson County.
Upset Davis County.
The Cougars.
Yeah.
Is that a big upset?
Well, they beat Davis County, I think it was a favorite.
And Grayson County not only beat them, they've won the region.
They're coming to rub.
They beat them twice in two weeks.
There's only two in the state that beat Davis County all year.
Well, let's go.
Grayson County.
When's the last time Grayson County's been to the Sweet 16?
2009.
Wow. All right. Well, good for Grayson County.
They got, yeah, they got beat by Jared Polson's West District team.
Grascent County's got a player that's committed to Western next year. Jack Loxton.
Well, good for him.
He's a pretty good ball player.
Well, good. We'll get them to come by the bar and I'll cheer him on.
All right. We'll do that, Matt.
Appreciate it. Conglats to Grayson County.
You'd see your North Laurel Beach or Bell County Bobcats.
I saw that.
And also, how about shout out Larry Blondell, his Butler High School, where he taught 50 years ago.
He talked about it on the show.
And they don't ever go, right?
I can't, well, I may have forgotten one, but yeah, they're rare to come out of that region.
Larry taught math at Butler High School in like the mid-70s.
Got the Larry bump this week.
And they play North Laurel in the first, or no, they play Hazard.
So it's a battle of eastern Kentucky,
Battle of Larry.
Butler v. Hazard.
Larry,
Larry loved that guy and the fact that he talked about Butler on the show.
Where is Butler High School in Louisville, Shannon?
I don't think I've ever passed it.
What part of town is it in?
I don't know exactly.
I'm sure I've been there.
I probably play baseball there back in high school,
but I don't know where it's up.
Well, look it up.
I don't know what street that's on.
D.G. Go ahead, D.G.
Crumbs Lane.
Well, where's Crumbs Lain?
I mean, you want me to get you an Alice?
Oh, it's in Shively?
Butler is in Shively.
Yeah, there you go.
I didn't know that.
Shively's its own thing.
You know?
Shively's like, you got Shively like, you got to know people.
You got to be tough to live in Shively.
Shively is a different, different kind of place.
Lively Shively.
Lively, that's right.
They call it Lively Shively Shively.
First time I moved to Louisville.
I was looking for a sports bar.
And I looked it up and it said, go to this point.
place. I think it was called hoops.
Oh, yeah, yeah. Hoops on Great Lane.
In Shively, isn't it?
I think so. And I went, and I was like, oh, you're amongst them.
Okay. Welcome to Hoops.
KG, go ahead.
What's up, fella? This is DG.
DG, go ahead.
Coming into Nashville right now with my dad, excited about today.
Maybe we can get to win, hopefully.
I had a quote,
would you rather question for you all.
Me and my buddies, we do a podcast
called Bluegrass State of Mine.
Shout out to that.
But would you all rather?
You can't give a shout out to your own podcast.
You can't go.
You can't be like shout out to myself.
You can't do that.
But go ahead.
Well, it's more so for the other guys.
But anyways, would you rather us run the table this week and weekend
and win five straight games and win the SEC championship
and get bounced the first round of the NCAA.
tournament, or would you rather
it's loose today and make it to the
Fleet 16 and get bounced
to Sweet 16? I think you have a case for both.
I think I know where you are going to go, but I just
I think that's an interesting question. I appreciate the call.
I'm taking the SEC tournament.
If you're telling me Sweet 16, now, if you
go one more round and we say Elite 8, then I'm going to take the Elite 8.
But for the Sweet 16,
give me the SEC tournament
five straight and five days. I think it would be
a fun run. It would be one we remember.
I'll take it. The fact we've not won
the tournament since what, 2018 with Shea.
If we make five wins
and five days and win the tournament, I'm taking
that. We went to the Sweet 16 last year.
This year's team's not going to win a title in the NCAA tournament.
If we win the SEC title, I'm taking it.
If you told me Elite Aid, I'd take the Elite
8 run.
But I think if we're, in order to do
that, we're probably going to have to beat
Florida, Tennessee,
and maybe Arkansas back to back.
How awesome would that be? Let's do it. Can you imagine
what Nashville would be like? Be crazy.
It'd be like lively shively.
At hoops.
Is hoops still open?
Yeah, I think they are.
This team winning any kind of championship, I think you would take.
I think most fans would agree with us too, don't you?
Have you been to hoops?
I have.
Yeah.
Yep.
I have to go back sometime.
I literally, when I first moved to Louisville in 2006, first place I went, lively Shively Shively.
I think I used to host an event out there.
Yeah, that's the kind of place that would have events.
I think back in the day.
Oh, well, they weren't there.
That wasn't there that day.
Slipping slide?
Bikini Slippin'slide.
I was the host.
That was a great gig.
Shannon was in the bikinis.

And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,
because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth?
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.

Life throws hurdles big and small.
The question is, how do you conquer them?
On hurdle with Emily Abadi, we sit down with the most inspiring women in sports and wellness,
professional athletes, coaches, and Olympic champions to talk about the challenges that shaped them
and the mindset that keeps them going.
From the WMBA standout, Kate Martin, and rising hockey star, Leila Edwards.
If a boy can do it, I don't see why a girl can't.
Like, I've never understood that.
Like, it didn't make sense in my brain.
It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you,
but don't ever feel like you don't feel on.
Don't let that be the reason you don't do it.
An Olympic champs Gabby Thomas and Katie Ledecki.
The ability to show gold medal to someone and have their face light up and smile,
that means the world to me.
And that's what motivates me to win more gold medals.
At our level, at this scale, like being able to fail in front of the entire world.
Like, I can do anything.
I can do anything.
Because resilience isn't just about winning.
It's about showing up, even when it's hard.

I'm Michelle McPhee, and this is one of the most shocking criminal conspiracies I've ever come

When Jacob met Levant this went to a billion dollar fraud.
But with two kings from entirely different worlds,

People are very, like, technical about their what's shively and what's south end.
I consider everything south basically shively, right?
Yeah, I mean, when it says south, syshively and what south.
next to hoops on a map.
It's close enough.
I'm trying to be complimentary.
I like, it's close to Dixie Highway you're in Shepley.
Now, people are saying, no, no, it's south end.
That's like the difference with people who go,
we're in Bell County if you're in Clear Creek Creek and Straight Creek.
Still all Creek.
So what's the dividing line?
People have to, in Louisville.
Louisville people, man, they take the parts of their town seriously.
They do.
Don't they?
Yeah, they do.
Yeah, I mean, you're, if you're in Linden or you're in J-Town or you're in St. Matthews or you're in the Highlands or you're in PRP, like everything, people take their section of town seriously.
Part of it's because Shannon, they all have like their own fire departments and their own police departments.
It's so, it's so different.
It's so weird.
You don't do that in Lexington.
You're not like, no.
I'm Tate's Creek.
You know, everybody's just Lexington.
People live on the, in Dixie Highway, like on.
Dixie Highway for some reason or like really just like don't don't mess up where my
hometown is don't you know you got to get it right I love Dixie Highway yeah but Dixie
highway you it's a different city than everywhere it really is no it really is like you're
you would barely know you're in Louisville if you're on if you're out on Dixie Highway
so what's the high school out there you're talking about that in the south side area well
I think DeSells is close is it isn't Fairdale out there
close.
Yeah.
So, and hoops.
But don't say hoops is in Shively.
859-2-80-2287.
One person writes, if we were to win the SEC tournament, who would be the MVP?
Well, oh, way.
But, you know, sometimes in the SEC tournament, you get your Dominique Hawkins,
you get your random guy, who's a random guy you think could have a big tournament?
Colin Chandler.
He'd be my pick.
Yeah, I don't know if he's random, but yeah.
I mean, because he could put up big point games.
They get taught.
I mean, random would be somebody like Yellovich.
Yeah.
I'd be shocked if he were the MVP.
Yeah, well, not MVP, but if Yelovich made all first team because he scored double digits every game or something.
So who would be the one guy outside of?
Yellowvich.
Well, there's only, we only play nine guys.
So you're running out of, if we can't pick stars or Yelovitch, then we're basically running out of people.
Because Jasper and Noah won't play enough.
So you're down to...
Now, don't tell me, B.G.
Malachi?
Don't stop with BG.
He would be random.
BG would be the most random.
Here, I'll tell you what, let's do a bet.
Because I would like this to happen.
Give me something to do
if BG goes double digits in the game.
All right.
What's something I could do?
Shave your head.
No.
No.
That's good.
I have enough problem with that as it is. I'm not shaming it.
Fix us all a dinner.
Oh, come on.
Oh, come on. That's not a prize for you.
I don't know.
Okay. I don't do it. I got it. You got to get on the mechanical bull at Kid Rock's bar on Broadway.
All right. I'll do that. If BG gets double digits, we'll do mechanical bull.
Wow.
I'm taking the cowboy hat. It's red.
You got to. It's Nashville.
Yeah. If you see me out in the cowboy hat, you know the party started.
Murf. Go ahead. Mert.
Hey Matt, how are you all?
Doing good.
Just want to clarify, for the U.S. not to advance onto the tournament,
Mexico has to score five or more runs for them to advance or Italy to win.
So they have to score five runs?
Five or more, yes.
Okay.
So for us to go, we need either Mexico to lose or to score less than five runs.
Yes.
Gotcha.
Okay.
And then my next thing is
This is Nashville
We have Otega O'A
If you're scared, go to church
We're beating Florida
Listen, I'm going to be
I appreciate the call
I'm going to pick us to win every game
Because it's Nashville
And it's time for us to take that city back
But first we got to beat LSU
Let's just beat the first game first
And I'm
You know if we were getting
If we had gotten South Carolina
Or Ole Miss I'd feel good about it
But we got the one team
That I mean they got
Played us in that game
We beat them
They did
We stole that one.
Like I said, that game meant so much to them at that point.
They had to get a win.
Now they got a lame duck coach.
Nobody cares.
They're not going to the NCAA tournament.
I think we're catching them at a good time.
There's another high school that's out there, DOS.
It's out on the South End?
Yeah.
That's a high school you never hear anyone mention.
No.
Do you ever hear Doss?
You know anybody ever went to Doss?
No.
I have no idea.
I've never heard.
Doss may be the most anonymous Louisville.
school. Isn't it, Shannon?
I mean, I've heard of it.
I know it exists. Tell me something
you know about DOS. Nothing.
I don't know anything about it.
Mike, go ahead, Mike.
Hey, I think whoever is best mentally
prepared for this game today
wins, and I believe that nod goes
to LSU. I'm picking LSU.
I think this
team, this coaching
staff, you know,
we lucked out winning
down there, and I think they want this game big time.
I think they want it more than us, and I think they're mentally prepared.
But, I mean, when you say they want it more than us, let me ask you a question.
Give me one fact that makes you think they want it more than us.
Tell me your LSU want-to knowledge.
Well, I just, we stole that game from them down there.
But that has nothing to do with how much they want it.
Like, where are you getting that information?
Because I think, and I'm not.
It's my own feeling.
Their coach, this is probably his last game.
I think they want to win this one for the coach, too,
but they want to beat us bad because we beat them down there at their place again.
Well, everybody beat them this year.
Yeah, well, I appreciate the call.
I think sometimes it's easy when we're down on our team to just assume that, you know,
The other team is going to be much more.
Maybe they will.
I don't know.
But like, let's be honest.
None of us have any idea what LSU basketball is doing right now.
No.
Could we say the same thing about our team?
No, we know about our team.
We don't know anything about the LSU team.
There might be 0.1% of the listeners here that really know the LSU basketball team.
Like, we don't fall.
We don't.
No.
If we're honest, we don't know.
it's going to be about us.
If we play well, we will win.
If we don't, then we give them a chance to win.
But like, we don't know what LSU's thinking going into this game.
Do we? Do you know?
That's what I feel like our team's been so unpredictable.
I don't know about our team.
I know something about DOS High School now.
What?
Derek Anderson went to DOS.
That's right.
Wow.
Did he really?
That's right.
D.A. went to DOS.
Did he go to the Sweet 16 when he was here?
when he was there?
I don't know.
He went there.
Good call.
All right, we'll take a break.
We're right back.
It's the Kentucky Select Chevy Dealer's KSR pregame.
T.J. Smith,
personal injury attorney.
Call T.J.
He'll make them pay.
Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio
presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.
You know, the Kentucky Select Chevy Dealer's KSR pregame,
you never know what it's going to end up.
I mean, we've done.
This is all about the south side of Louisville.
I'm glad to be told that I was right,
Shannon.
Hoops has moved.
The one you and I,
I went to was somewhere else.
Maybe that's what we're thinking about.
The one now is out there next to the airport, and I believe that that was close to where
the plane crashed.
Oh. Yeah.
Great Lane, right?
Yeah, I think that just recently, I think that was very close to that place.
We're getting to that age where you just go, didn't there used to be a pharmacy over there?
Yeah, there used to be a shoe store there.
I used to laugh at my parents and grandparents because they would do that.
It used to be where T.H. Campbell was.
And I'd be like, I hope I don't do that.
Here we are.
But then you can't help it.
You can't help it.
You can't help it.
You can't help you.
I ask where the Prime Sirloin was.
Sorry.
It's the SEC tournament.
We're playing on Wednesday.
What do you want for me?
K.S. Bar opens at 11 and the game will be on at 1230.
I know Nick Rouse and Adam Luckett will be there.
They can answer all your football.
questions there.
They're coming from spring practice to there.
Spring practice happened.
Justin Will Stein said 15 practices.
Every practice, they introduce a new set so that at the end of it, they will have
introduced all of their sets.
So they've timed it to where each day they learn something due, and then the next day
they go over what they learn and then teach them another thing.
And that each day they will slowly build up to teach the entire offense and defense over
the course of the 15 days.
That's what you've got to do.
And you're starting from scratch, starting something new.
I love what he said yesterday, too.
They're going to have scrimmages.
With tackling.
Do you like that?
I do like that.
That's old school spring football.
You have the scrimmage every Saturday?
Well, we're going to say that if somebody gets hurt.
Probably not, but I'm playing it right now.
We're going to have a real spring game.
He keeps talking about that and they're going to play.
This is not going to be too in touch, Shannon.
They're going to tackle in the spring.
Can't play scared.
As you know, if you're scared, go to church.
Scared go to church.
859-9-2-80.
2287. Marshall, go ahead, Marshall.
Sounds like Mike needs to go to Chicago.
I agree.
I'm on I-40. I'm on I-40.
I just got out in class, taking a midterm, definitely failed it.
But we were locked in.
I'm 0-N-7 in my last Kentucky Collegiate basketball and football games, but it changes today.
We've lost the last seven games you've been to.
I was at the Vandy game in Nashville.
I was at the Louisville game this year.
I was at the football game of Texas, Ole Miss, and Tennessee lost to Bama last year in the
tournament. I'm missing one more. I can't remember where it was. But today, Colin Chandler is going
for five threes. He is dunking on everybody. Always going for 30. It's going to be a hell of a night.
Go cats. Go big blue. C-A-T-S, cats, cats, cats. Love it, love it. You know, you do not beat
a Mike team eight straight times.
Eighth times a charm.
If we lose, we're blaming that guy.
If we use it, it's your fault, though, Mike.
Marshall.
Marshall's fault, too.
We're going to be doing the post-game show in Bowling Green
and then driving to Nashville after that.
So we'll get to Nashville tonight.
Remember, tomorrow we are at 10 roof, win or lose.
It's right.
Win or lose.
Win or lose.
So we want you to be there.
It'll either be fun, getting you ready for the game against Missouri.
or it'll be tears and beers with Drew.
But we want you to be ready tomorrow,
because we're going to be there either way.
Starting, what, what are you doing?
Are you doing the pre-show tomorrow?
We're doing the same thing.
If Kentucky wins, we're doing the same thing tomorrow.
So if Kentucky wins tomorrow, then it'll be,
and then if we lose, I don't know what we're doing.
I guess we'll do the pre-show and then the KSR show.
I guess.
Yeah.
Sounds like we're doing.
But either way, 9 o'clock, which will be 8 o'clock central, you're there.
Yeah.
Yes.
And we play Missouri.
Hopefully we win.
It's very complicated this whole thing.
Mike, go ahead, Mike.
How many mics do we have?
Go ahead, Mike.
Yeah, you're going to be hating the mics today, I tell you that.
But I'll tell you, I was in there less than that.
I'm so sick of, oh, man, which would you rather suck less at?
The incident, Turner, the NCAA turn.
You know, I'm just going to tell you, man,
where this is Kentucky, you could have took us in the SEC
tournament against the field throughout history and made money.
If he don't get a GM and he don't do what he needs to do
than get his ass out of town, goodbye.
Well, I mean, those are strong.
Those are strong words.
But also I understand what he means.
Let's go to Kim.
Go ahead, Kim.
Hey, Matt, we're coming into Nashville.
We have tickets for today.
Where were those tickets that you said for the hostess?
and we're 348.
It was on Stubbhub.
Stubhub. Great.
Thank you.
Go, Katz.
We're going to win today by 20.
Appreciate it.
I mean, hopefully there's still, they're on stuff.
But there are others for like 380, 370.
You know, Mike's right.
Kentucky's won, what, 31 SEC tournament titles,
and the second place team is Alabama with eight.
This is our tournament.
If you look at the graphic of SEC tournament winners,
it's amazing to see all the Kentucky logos.
but we don't have one recently.
Not since 2018, right?
Yeah.
It's a long drought.
Hamden.
What's up Hamden?
Hey, my boss
bet me money that I wouldn't call into the show,
so I told him I wouldn't ask a question.
We got to ask a question then, Hamden.
My question is,
who do you think has to step up
like Marcus Lee did during our run
in 2014?
I know we've talked about Brandon Garrison,
but to me it's Yellowvich.
If he can hit three years and a quarter of a quarter of a quarter spot,
like Andrew Carter did.
For me, it's me.
He changes the offense because with him, here's the thing about Yelovich.
With him, then you have a shooting threat outside, which allows you to play Diabate if you need to, Malachi if you need to, and Garrison doesn't have to play if he's not playing bad.
When Yelovich is hitting shots, it changes the entire ability of our team to score.
Now, he can't be a dud defensively, which he is sometimes.
So he's got to be, you know, decent enough defense so that we can have him to make threes.
Completely agree, completely agree.
He's got the length to do it.
It's just he likes his footwork sometimes is what I see watching at home.
Yeah, and I appreciate the call.
He's actually sometimes can stay with his man outside.
He just gets bullied inside, and that's where he's got to get better.
You know, and he needs to get up what he said after the game the other day,
kind of called out a couple of his teammates and kind of called him out for being selfish.
kind of called it out
and fatigue is not a factor.
Okay, now's your chance, bud.
Step up and help put that team on your shoulders.
All right, it's Wild Eggs Wednesday.
It is.
Which means you have a word.
Ryan said his word,
and I was like, that's terrible.
So I picked the word.
Yes, you did.
To make it harder.
What are we putting it on?
It's on Twitter.
Under KSR, the show.
All right, it's going up now.
First response wins $50 from Wild Eggs.
It was a word.
and that Rhine couldn't even spell.
Oh, boy.
Are we sure it's going to have the right letters and the right amount of letters?
Well, that's a good point, Mark.
Did you check the spelling before you did it?
We know what happened last week.
Yeah.
I mean, just another of our horrible contest.
I suggest that we just do bam.
It would be really easy.
I think we should have gone with that, you know, but you guys want to make it difficult.
All right. So it's Wild Eggs Wednesday.
That's your chance.
It just went up.
It's Wingsday.
at KS Bar. So we watch the game, you could also get Dollar Wings.
I bet it'll be a great environment to today. Go out there and have lunch.
Everybody's got to get up and go.
And I keep getting confused what time it is.
It's 1045 because we started early, right?
And we're getting in a car here in 15 minutes and heading down the road.
Heading down the road.
What if they lose on the way?
We can't.
Don't even say it.
No, we're not turning around.
We have to be there, yeah.
It's time to score big this month at Don Franklin.
over 6,000 new and certified pre-owned vehicles.
Go to the distance with Don Franklin's power train protection.
Slam dunks deals all month long, Don Franklin Auto.
If you need parts need replacing, it's Don Franklin's score.
Bigger Online, Don Franklin, driven by family.
Let's go to Joe.
Go ahead, Joe.
Yeah, Matt.
Doss High School, we had a player that played for us in 96
that went to Dawes High School.
we transferred from Ohio State.
Yeah, we mentioned him.
Derek Anderson.
We mentioned it.
Derek Anderson, yeah.
Okay, I was just wondering.
I didn't hear that.
Okay, thank you.
Appreciate it.
Joe, go ahead, Joe.
Hey, Matt, how you doing?
Good.
I'm the last guy to take up for Petino.
I still can't stand him.
But it's worth noting that he's going to hire another GM.
That GM was fired by the university after like a month-long investigation in some weird
finances stuff the same guy.
Oh, okay.
I didn't know.
So he said he's going to hire another.
He's going to hire another guy then.
Yeah, yeah.
That guy that Patino hired had left in a brass gun under a little bit of, you know, health
issues slash he was about to get fired.
And Petino essentially said, I can't talk about it because it wasn't my decision.
The university fired him.
But we're going to be looking as soon as season ends.
Did know that.
Makes sense.
All right.
I'm actually glad to hear that.
I appreciate the call.
I mean, not that.
He stole money, but that maybe that'll make Pope get one.
We'll take a break.
859-280-2287.
Come back.
It's Kentucky Select Chevy dealers.
KSR at pregame.

Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase
that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
and we're still chasing it
and we don't know when we've done enough
because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,
because you find it important to be a good person
while you hear on earth?
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

From the WNBA standout Kate Martin and rising hockey star Layla Edwards.
If a boy can do it, I don't see why a girl can't.
Like, I've never understood that.
Like, it didn't make sense in my brain.
It's hard to be in spaces that no one looks like you,
but don't ever feel like you don't belong.
Don't let that be the reason you don't do it.
An Olympic champs Gabby Thomas and Katie Ladeke.
The ability to show a gold medal to someone
and have their face light up and smile,
that means the world to me.
And that's what motivates me to win more gold medals.
At our level, at this scale, like, being able to fail in front of the entire world.
Like, I can do anything.
I can do anything.
because resilience isn't just about winning.
It's about showing up, even when it's hard.

Welcome back.
Tuggy Slick, Chevy Dealer's KSR pregame show.
I just, I can't get this geography right.
So the bar next to the airport or the plane crashed is Stooges, which is apparently the sister bar to hoops.
Okay.
Yeah.
Stooges.
I've been to all of them.
So where's the new hoops now?
Now I'm totally confused.
Strawberry Lane, right?
Strawberry Lane.
Yeah.
Which is nice, I guess.
I'm not going to dare say what part of town it's in.
Kentucky's now a nine and a half point favorite.
Opened at six and a half now up to nine and a half.
It's a lot of points for a team you had to have a miracle to beat earlier this season.
Yeah, but you were on their floor.
They, as you've said many times, they had a lot to play for, but now they're not making the tournament.
so they got less to play for now.
Their season ends today.
It ends today.
If we beat them.
They can all get in the portal.
And they probably will.
They probably will.
Chris, go ahead, Chris.
Matt, this is Chris Harvey.
I am a proud Dawes High School grad.
All right.
And I wanted to give you some facts.
Okay.
Quickly.
Opened in 1967, about 1,100 students.
its nickname is the Dragons, colors Burgundy and Gold, famous alumni, Dwight Witten at WHS.
Oh, wow.
Larry Burkhead, Larry Burkhead, the father of Annen and Cole Smith.
The father of Anna.
Yeah, that's right.
Larry Burkhead.
I remember him from the derby parties.
Remember him, Shannon?
He was married to Anna Colesmith.
Yeah, or had a baby with her.
Yes.
Tim Pelke, the 1980,
Miss Basketball.
I think the girls were lost
in the state championship game in 1988
in basketball and the boys have been in the state
finals twice, 198, in 2014.
So I just...
All right, well, there you go.
My school there you go. I appreciate you giving some
DOS Fax.
Doss Dragons is a good name. I appreciate to call. That's a good name.
Doss Dragons. If I ever open to high school, and I
would have no reason to ever do that,
if I were going to do that, I would want to give it a unique nickname.
Like I like last night, Hofster's nickname is the Pride.
It's a good name.
Hofstra Pride.
What's Monmouth?
I don't know.
Long Island, the Long Island are the dolphins.
I don't know what Monmouth is.
It should be the mammoths.
Monmouth mammoths.
That would be great.
That would be great.
I think Long Island, they do the fins up.
Have you seen that?
Mario's from Long Island.
He's shaking his head.
Did you know that?
They now, they've started this new thing where, where,
Long Island where they're about to shoot a free throw and they go,
fins up, and they all make the safety thing on top of their head.
I can't, I kind of like that.
I do too.
It's really stupid, but it's good.
Madison, go ahead, Madison.
Rod Strickland coaches Long Island, former Kentucky assistant.
They're in the tournament.
Yes.
Dave Baker just in here yelling.
You don't even have a microphone, Dave.
By the way, we support you, Dave.
Let's go.
Madison.
Hey, y'all.
We're in Nashville.
We're so excited.
I did.
But honestly,
still can't get that game out of my head
in 23.
When we lost,
it was terrible.
Last time I went to a game
all my,
we're in Nashville and we lost.
But we're going to win this one.
We're already breaking the...
Appreciate it, Madison.
We're breaking the Mike streak.
We're breaking the Madison streak.
And I think a woman named
Mikey Madison
won the Oscar last year for Anora.
It's all coming together.
There we go.
And remember, eight minus...
Five is three.
No, eight minus three is five.
Five and five days.
Five and five.
Eight minus three is five.
That's it.
Yeah.
Kelly, go ahead, Kelly.
Kelly.
Well, we lost Kelly.
Kelly should have had some cornbread hemp.
Go to cornbread hemp.com promo code KSR.
Cornbread hemp is where you get gummies and topical oils to rest and relax and get yourself ready for your night and get sleep.
It is cornbread hemp and cornbread hemp.com.
There's no better way to get yourself.
stuff ready to relax and sleep thin cornbread hemp.
Let's go to Jared.
Go ahead, Jared.
Hey, Matt.
So earlier this week, they released the All-Americans list.
And like many Kentucky fans, I noticed that Yaxil is on that list, along with Caleb Wilson.
Yes.
And it was a little bit of salt in the loan knowing that we were about to get both of those guys and then we didn't.
Correct.
My question is, Mark Polk, seeing that he lost to All-Americans, I mean, at what point does he say,
I can't do this recruiting thing.
I need a little bit of extra help.
I'm getting a GM.
What point does he say that?
I mean, it all depends on how a person internalizes mistakes, right?
So I appreciate the call.
For me, when I don't have some sort of success, I sit there and think, okay, what could
I have done differently?
What went wrong?
That's one way to do it.
The other way to do it is to blame things and act like, well, not my.
my fault, it was this or their agent or this team or whatever.
I think it's much more productive to look at yourself and not beat yourself up, but go,
what could I do differently?
Or you can say it's everybody else's fault.
I think the best leaders internalize and try to make it better.
I hope Mark's one of those.
I think he kind of is, but let's see.
The caller asks when should he have done it?
It should have done it over a year ago.
Have somebody in place to do the future together.
But, you know, my view is I don't really care how he manages this program so long as it works.
The problem is right now in terms of getting players, it's not working.
Yeah.
So, Mike, go ahead, Mike.
Okay, I called in earlier and I got cut off, I guess.
But here's my question post to you guys.
What makes you think that this team is going to be mentally prepared for this game today
when they haven't really been, except for a few games this year?
What makes you think they're going to be prepared?
I don't know.
Nothing makes.
And you couldn't get prepared for Florida.
But they were prepared for two games against Tennessee and they were prepared for a game against Vandy.
I don't know.
I'm not.
I mean, I can't say that.
There are reasons why they were prepared for that game.
They were motivated to beat those.
I appreciate the call.
I think they're probably motivated.
This is the tournament.
If you're not motivated for this, what are you going to be motivated for?
I mean, I don't know that they're going to be motivated.
I have no idea.
but I also don't know that they won't.
We have no way of knowing.
This team is completely unpredictable.
Yeah, that's what I was saying earlier.
There's no way to know what team you're going to get tonight, tomorrow,
there's just no way to know.
They can come out, lights out today, and then stink it up tomorrow.
You just don't know what this team's going to be like.
With that said, it's time to be a game for Draft Kings.
Bet $5.
You win $200 on draft Kings.
Go to DK, get the app.
promo codes KSR.
I'll start with you, Shannon.
Since you're not usually on the Kentucky Select Chevy Dealer's KSR pregame,
what's the score? I think Kentucky wins, but I think it's going to be close.
I'm going to say Katz win 8783.
All right. And your MVP?
Well, on our group chat, I picked the bang-this twins.
The bang-this twins. All right, perfect.
Ryan.
I think it's going to be a close game, and I like the under in this game on point total.
So I'm one-oldo-se 34-73.
I'm going to think it's like a one-point rock fight most of the game.
Kind of an ugly game most of the game.
Malachi Marino carries over in the Nashville against LSU.
Malachi Marino.
All right.
I'm going to say Kentucky 80 to 72 with the Nashville theme.
I'll take what's the one bar that's not a new country bar there?
Roberts.
Is that the last one left from back in the day?
Tootsies?
And that's still though kind of.
We're 10 roof guys though.
Sorry, 10 roof is the MVP because we will be there tomorrow at 9 a.m.
At 10 roof, we hope to see you there.
9 a.m. tomorrow,
Eastern, 8 Central.
If we win, if we lose, you're still coming.
It's mandatory.
That's right.
Post-game show for us will be somewhere in Bowling Green.
We'll see you later.
This has been the Kentucky Select Chevy Deals,
