an episode on the plane of that age of attraction show The premise of the show I just don't buy Which is, you know, these people are shocked At their ages They all look their ages How can he be shocked then? I caught about 20 minutes of it

That was my takeaway too There's one guy on there that's 60 That does not look 60 He looks like he might be 45 But They look their ages So they'll go I'm 43

and the woman will be like what he looks 43 maybe he looks 41 and then the woman will be like I'm 22 what I thought you were 30

no I mean it's fairly clear there's like you know that guy we saw from Middlesbrill it was 65 he did not look his age he looked 35 you know sometimes people say to me Matt you look

young for your age. But they don't mean I look 30. They mean I look 41. Yeah. Right. So these people, though, look their age. Well, they look the vicinity of their age. They look good for their age. They're not a shock that they were the older people or the younger people on the beach. But like there's a cup on there. The guy's like 38 and the woman's 22. And the guy like looks at this woman. First of all, I don't think you should look at a woman and go, who's 22 and go, I thought you were 31. It's not a compliment. That's not a compliment. They don't want to hear that. No, no woman wants to hear that. But I look at it and I'm like, she's clearly 22.

And then there's a guy on there that's 51 and the woman's like 28. And she seems just baffled. I'm like, the dude has gray hair. How old did she think he was? What did you, did you think he was? How old did you think he was? He was 24 and lived a hard life. I mean, if the show is just supposed to be like people with age gaps can have a relationship, okay, sure.

But like, what is this shocked how old these people? people are. Are there any young guys with older women? Yes, probably the nicest couple is one. The woman's like 54 and the guy's like 29. And they actually seem oddly compatible. Uh-huh. And the woman is 54. Maybe she looks 47. But was he shocked and found that she was he acted like, I thought we were the same age. What? What? Stop. It's like, do you not see your life alert. She's running out of necklace.

Stop. Like, just say you, like, it's cool. It's fine. You all like each other, but I just,

the surprise is a little, you know. Hollywood. All right. All right. Starting right now. That's right. At this very moment.

How has no one told me about this guy all year? This is a human being that existed in this state of Kentucky that's really good at basketball

and that has the wreck goggles and carries a WWE belt and is from the mountains and nobody bothered to tell me about him. Thank goodness they made the Sweet 16 so we know about him. How did I not know about Tuck Johnson? I thought they made him just for you. I mean, Tuck Johnson was literally. was literally created in a lab to be someone I would like. He's got, so I tweeted out his picture, Tuck Johnson for president.

He's got a mullet. Yep. He's got rec specs and they're black. Like he's not trying to be, they're not trying to be clear. These are as dark as they could be. But are those like regular glasses? They're not like wrap around band goggles.

What would you call them? I think they're just glasses. Right. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I think he's just wearing black glasses. Yeah. Kurt Rambus. He's Kurt Rambus.

Kurt Rambus. Look at mustache. A mustache, a mullet, black glasses from Hazard, big, doesn't seem like, you know, regular shape. And after every game, he carries a WWE belt. What's not to love about all those things? How did no one tell me about this guy? I almost don't want to go to St. Louis, and I almost want to tomorrow morning do the show from Tuck's place.

Well, I want to break your heart. He's at KS. Bar right now. No, he's not. Yes, he is. They came to have lunch expecting to meet you today. Well, did you tell him I wasn't going to be there? Yeah. Okay.

But they want to go ahead and have lunch anyway. But they came early for lunch. You're not, you're telling me Tuck is at KS Bar right now. Right now. The hazard team is there right now. How are you just not telling me this? You just got home last night. I have a phone.

Yeah, I told him, I said, unfortunately, we're not going to be there. But they wanted to go ahead and come for lunch, but Tuck was going to meet you. So Tuck is as we speak. Eating, come on. Well, first of all, Tuck, of course, blame Rine Lemon. But when? Who do they play tomorrow? It doesn't even matter to me who they play.

Butler, well, that's Larry's school. That's right. This is your tough call for you. I love you, Larry, but I'm taking Tuck. We're all hazard. If Larry's still taught. at Butler, I would take Butler, but that was 50 years ago. I'm going with Tuck.

At least on the Kentucky.

If I were picking, I'd say USC, but that's a guess. Kentucky has not been connected with him in months. I'm surprised even listening. Well, they've talked to him. Like Drew said, there's no buzz. Like there's no connection or people are predicting he might go there. I'm surprised he's still in the, we're still in their top three. So he's not picking Kentucky.

That means I think he's coming. There we go. Yeah, true. The fact that you're saying definitively he's not picking Kentucky. Yeah. Why are you so definitive? There's been no connection for months with Kentucky and him. Are you just saying like you haven't seen it in the media or you know we haven't talked to them?

We haven't gotten to talk about it, but I'm a little worried. He just seemed very definitive with that. Because you were very definitive about the three. Are you concluding Hawthorne in your three? Yeah. Oh, no. I was thinking, well, maybe he forgot about Hawthorne. So only two of the taxally playing.

Are you including low? Because he said at the SEC he's planning to. What's he going to say? The season is still going on. So you're not including him. Wow. By the way, the kid from, what is it, the kid that plays for Liberty that's from, where's he from? Elizabeth Town. Elizabeth Town, he lit it up last night. They won. They got an upset win. They're in the NIT.

He'll get bumped up somewhere. People should watch him. The NIT's going on. If Liberty plays, that's that kid from Kentucky, you should turn them on because he's a guy. I know a lot of people in the state won. I don't know what the staff thinks. Hey, spring is sprung and that may be.

And you call in the very first time you've ever listened. your calling? Well, I've been listening for maybe about a week. I put it that way. Okay, all right, good deal. Go ahead. Well, thanks for joining us. Well, I have to admit, like, I've lived in Kentucky all my life, but I'm not really a big fan of college sports. Yeah, that's okay. But my question is for Matt, like, how, if you're so, like, the stats and the skills and everything that you know so much, why are you not, like, coaching for some of these teams. I could tell as soon as he started that there was like a

passive aggressiveness to him. You know, I could. I could tell like from the very beginning, you know, I have a sense about these things. But since he said he was new, I was trying to kind of welcome him. But I could tell, Shannon, from the first moment, there was a passive aggressiveness to him. It just came out of his voice and the way he was like, I'm going to be nonchalant, but then I'm really going to show him when I say that.

It's not about that. No, I'm just thinking. I'm not a coach. I'm not a coach, but I have a job. Let me ask you a question. Right. Virtually, when you watch TV and you watch or listen to radio, do you think those people you watch were all great at the games or great at coaching? No. No, I mean, they have to work up to that status, of course.

No, but they don't coach. That's not my job. My job is to be a radio hub. and entertained. So no, do I think I can coach better than Mark Pope? Of course not. Do I think I can coach better than any coach? No. But I also think my job is to critique. If we, if we, if, if people who haven't coached can't critique, there'll be no shows. We will all sit in silence and stare at each other. Yeah. Okay. I get that. So, so that's my answer to question. No, I cannot coach better than these guys. but I can evaluate as good as, you know, anybody else that has a microphone in YAPs.

And my other last little question is, why do they punish the coaches if teams don't do well? Aren't they shouldn't you, because you don't punish the teachers if students don't learn. So why not? If you're a tear, if you have no teacher, there are teachers, I mean, sometimes tenure keeps that from happening, but there are teachers that can lose their job if they don't teach. well if their students don't do well. I mean, that happened. Every job you can lose if the performance

you're supposed to do doesn't go well. Right, but I mean, why not affect, well, how does that not affect the players? Like the players are the ones who have to actually get out there. But whose job it is it, do you think, to get the players? Well, it's the coaches and all the staff and behind them. Exactly. And that's why you switch coaches. If you don't, if you don't

get the right players or you don't coach them well, you are replaced. Okay. I didn't see it from that point of view, but it makes the perfect sense. All right. Well, I appreciate the call. I hope you continue to enjoy sports and learn about them. That call really confused me. You think he was being serious? I mean, there was some sincerity in his question. I actually think, oddly, he was passive-aggressive, but I actually do think there was sincerity.

He did start by saying, I don't watch college sports. Yeah. Maybe that was a legit question. Because the difference between college and pro sports is, in pro sports, you don't always get to pick your players, Drew. Or as in college sports, you do. Absolutely. And I think the caller might actually be genuine in asking these questions.

You know how far as some of these stations reach? Maybe they were just. I don't think he was genuine in saying, why don't you be a coach? Yeah, maybe not. But I think the second question could have been genuine. I thought for sure he was going to end up being a Louisville fan or an Arkansas fan, but then he got, like, sincere about things. I wish my phone would work.

I need to see what about this rumor about Mikhail Brown. Sorry. All right. I act like I didn't say it. I didn't hear it. Who's next? Mark. Mark.

the opening game and maybe the second round game if they make it that far. He's going to be, then he ain't playing in the NCAA tournament. If he's not playing, if he's not playing, they ain't playing more than one or two games. That's 20 minutes ago on WDOB. No.

Rob Christian Collins. Are you familiar with his story? Not really, no. I mean, I know Kentucky's recruited him, but I don't know really a lot about him, except he's good. He's an impressive. I mean, he's a really impressive young man.

Yesterday, he was on ESPN, and he actually is playing with cystic fibrosis. I did know that. I did hear that, yes. Yeah. And the fact is he was telling the story that, I guess he's now, he's like six-nives wing, you know, really athletic wing. But a few years ago, like in ninth grade, he was six-five, and he couldn't dunk,

and he was getting a lot of bullying, online bullying as well as personal bullying. And, you know, the kid just hunker down and made himself better, it made himself better. Now he's the top five recruit. And that's the kind of kid you want to cheer for. No, that's true. Very well. I've heard of cystic fibrosis. What is it?

I mean, I'd be honest, I wanted to met Kentucky. But here lately, like, what he did in Nashville on the sideline, that was odd. Like, come on, dude, you're a grown man. Yeah, I mean, yelling.

I mean, that one just kind of yelling. He was just F-bombing, you know, BS. I mean, he came out and he said it with his chest, Miami of Ohio shouldn't be in. Okay, that's your opinion. Fine. But now I saw him with Charles Barkley last night going, you know, I'm really hoping to Miami of Ohio went. Like, shut up. If you want to be the dude doing that, don't, don't, what are you backing down for?

Then just the Auburn thing, we all know, just blatant nepotism. He set up and left him where they had no other option. I soured on him with that. And he acknowledged that. Yeah, almost bragged about it really. I said, I did nepotism. Is that, okay, well, that's not good. So, yeah, I found him.

I found, he has gone down in my book in a lot of ways, which is surprising because I've always kind of liked him, at least in the last decade. I'll tell you who's gone up in my book. Who's that? Jamal Ashburn's good at TV. He is good. He's really good.

He's good. Like, he's not just, he's good because he went to Kentucky. He's legitimately good. Yeah. He doesn't give you the hyperbole. He just kind of keeps it real, no matter who the. team in. I think we're going to see him a lot during the tournament. And I think he's going to, I think he's really good. I think he is good at it.

Good for him. We're talking about Bruce Pearl. I've always been kind of team Pearl too. It was interesting another day. They had him sitting by Wally Zerbiak, who was the Miami Ohio King, and there's Bruce sitting right beside him, the Paul taking for Auburn, and they were each pulling for the other side. So, all right, I wanted to talk about, um, uh, hope. So, you know, a lot of people are kind of down about the way the years went. And of course, I am to, you know, I expect it to be a lot better than it's been. But when I feel like most Kentucky fans, I mean, I guess I can't speak for all of them, but I feel like what happens in March is what matters to me the most. And last year, going to the sweet six. team, we hadn't done that. You know, and so to me, I felt like last year was a big improvement.

This year is not over. And there's a lot of, you know, injured. And I understand other teams have injuries, you know, but this team had injuries to significant roster pieces that had they've been healthy all year. We're having a much different conversation about this. Yeah. Okay.

So first of all, your first point I agree with, which is that fans, like March matters more, and he can make this. were to win both games this weekend, people will look at things differently. The second thing about, well, if everyone was healthy, okay, I, that's plausible. But let's be honest. I want people to be honest. We weren't good when those guys played.

So I agree with that. So, I mean, like, it's not like we were killing it. Like, it's not like the Nerlin's here, where the team was pretty good. And then Nerlin's got hurt and they collapsed. We have not been good. There's really been the period where Kentucky played the best was honestly the period right after Cam got hurt, right? Or quatence and low weren't playing.

So it's not like we were rolling with those guys. We had one good half with the whole team. And that was against St. John's. I wasn't saying that if we were healthy, that we would have been great. I'm just saying it definitely affected us a little bit. Now, that is my one issue with Pope is he seems like he's not a good recruiter right now. You know, and maybe that will end up being what keeps him from keeping the job very long.

And don't get me wrong. I mean, I'm far from happy with what's going on. But I also don't want to run him out of town just yet. Now, if the third team that he brings in, if there's a carbon copy of who's first to, maybe. Okay, well, I got to stop you. I appreciate the call. I got what you're saying, and I don't disagree with you.

But, and actually, I think during that run where we won, maybe Cam played half the games and not half the game, something like that. But, you know, would it have been better with Lowe and Quaintance and Cam? I think the answer is probably yes. But would it have been seven losses? Or would it have been like 11 instead of 13, Drew, we don't really know. Yeah. And I still think if, you know, having low would obviously be better. Nothing else just to have a body.

But I don't know if we ever get the Denzel Aberdeen we had. I don't think you can ask much more from a point guard than the way he played in the SEC. He barely turned it over, playing 35 minutes a game. He found a three-point shot that he didn't have in the non-conference. I don't know that we ever get that if he's still in that spot where he's just back and forth trying to find a roll. I'm going to go and tell you, I think under three minutes to go, I want Aberdeen with the ball. Yep. Now, that doesn't mean I don't want O'Oway taking the final shot and Aberdeen passing it, but I want

Aberdeen to have the ball. I think Aberdeen is just as good at getting to the rim. Aberdeen makes his free throws consistently. O'A shoots like 65%. And Aberdeen can shoot threes. So, you know, O'A is our best player, but I think Aberdeen is a, our biggest offensive threat, certainly in the half court. And I don't think that guy shows up without the low injury.

I agree with that. You don't want Lowe to be hurt. But if you look at his numbers when he was just bouncing back from the one and two and trying to find a spot, it's not good. It wasn't the same. But the moment Lowe was out for the year, it's like he knew, all right, I'm the guy, and it just shot straight up. I think you're right about that.

Alcohol or cigarettes. So, so, like, I think in Kentucky maybe there's a syntax on alcohol, certainly there is on cigarettes. Yeah. Is there one on alcohol? There are a lot of states there is. Is there one on Kentucky? Is it higher for alcohol in Kentucky?

I think so. Gambling has a syntax. So Florida put a 50% syntax on only fans models. Florida or against it? 15 or 50 50 Wow Now of course

They're just going to pass it on to the consumer Yeah So are you for it or against it Kentucky legislator is considering the same thing here That's tough I'm going to say I'm for it I'm squirming Yeah

You're for it I'm for it Okay Wholeheartedly against it For one thing There are people on Only fans That are just doing very normal things Like we think of

You know People's on Only Hands. There are people, Only Fans, there are people on Only Fans doing completely reasonable things. Do they get taxed to? Or is there a line? I don't know. I don't know the specifics of the bill. That looks like a sin. And maybe I don't think we don't agree on what sins are. And people on Only Fans are just trying to make a living. Telling on your. Well, all right. So it's going to fall for one. Yeah. Because, okay, so if they do that, then you could start saying, okay, I don't like people who do the job of X. I'm going to, I'm going to make a bigger tax for them. That's what I'm saying. How do you get to decide how people are doing? How do you get to decide that this is, if it's legal, then. And there's also a difference like with cigarettes. So the reason I think there's a syntax on cigarettes is we as a society end up paying for you doing. that thing because you're going to get sick and we're going to have to pay for your health care. You see what I'm saying? So the argument on a syntax for cigarettes or even alcohol is you're going to end up in behavior

that's going to cost society money so we're making you pay for it up front. The only fan has never been anybody sick. Yeah. So that's probably a no.
