Where she said basically Danny White, the UT.A.D, is essentially allowing women's basketball to die, but then she deleted. that's crazy because like you said I mean you just think of women's basketball and that you con logo and the Tennessee logo with a little sky blue in there

you think of that brand yeah I mean in my just in my brain I think of like Pat Summitt Gino and Don Staley and then that's the ones like those are the coaches you're going to Thompson Boyne Arena all those banners up there for the women

there's none up there for the men all those women banners I heard you said that a lot last week one person writes Matt I can't believe it as well connected as you are you'd never heard of Tamara Tamara Tamara we'll go with whatever Tammy Gustafson I'm a nobody and I knew who she is yeah but I mean you say connect I'm not connected anybody I don't that's a different circle of people I don't talk to anybody like I I I have my crew

but they're like I don't run with the Lexington elite circle like basically if you've been in tops and Lex and you're not Marie Montgomery, I don't know who you are. I know Maria, and I think I was in there once. Like all the other people, when they show people's homes and stuff, that's why I have such a hard time with basic task, because I don't know who to do them. Like designing the house. Like, I don't know.

People are you using Susie or using Day? I'm like, I don't know these. How are you supposed to know these people? And they're like, well, did you see the work they did in Chevy Chase? What? So you got out in Chevy Chase? Who knows that? You got Wall for on Chevy Chase.

I don't know anybody. I know worldwide Todd Harris. He tries to fight people at games. I know Drew. But most of my friends are not in culture. You and I have talked about this. We can go to one of those rooms at Keenland. Don't know anybody.

Anybody. Don't know a soul in standing there. But see, I like that because I think it has made it to wear. I can be pretty unbiased about everything in this state because I'm not friends with anyone. Not in a lot in world But like so Craig I guess probably my most connected person is Craig the mayor of Louisville Yes

But I met him through wrestling Like I didn't think he was going to be the mayor You met him in the same building that you met Cashflow and That's right. I didn't expect Mr. Pectacular to become the Secretary of State By the way, you see what he's doing this summer? He's on American Gladiators that comes out

Neighbors. Oh, how's mailing going? So. Anyway, I'd much prefer to just hang out with Drew, Ryan, and Mario. Different tax bracket. Yeah, that's not my bracket. All right. Someone else I don't know, but Ryan knows, is Derek Johnson.

Yes. So this is Jasper's uncle. Correct. Dennis's older brother. Played at Kentucky. Former Kentucky. Kind of took a shot at me. Well, he didn't say my name, but it was insinuated.

about me and fans and media last week. But essentially, what did he say last week? It was something like people were never fair to Jasper or something like that. That's basically kind of his gist that he didn't get a fair shake and fans kind of. So I bring this up just because, like, I mean, he posted this and this has made its way around the, the UK world. And Larry Vaught retweeted it. So, like, I think you have to talk about it.

he posted this last night. I'll read it to you. So Jalen Lowe had kind of sent congratulations and yays to people who were transferred. Right. So when Brandon Garrison and Jasper Johnson said they were leaving, again, when you have someone my age trying to interpret Instagram comments, it sounds so stupid. He was like, he wrote, yay!

Exclamation point. One of them was yupp. Yupp! With a salute. Yup. And then salute. I mean, I don't know.

But he wrote those and people were kind of like, why is he cheering on people leaving the program? I mean, my read of that is they're his friend, like people he knew at school. Like he's like, go do your thing. Good luck.

Even me saying that. Go do your thing, guy. But they're brothers in the locker room. They're supporting each other. That's right. So some people online were criticizing, and Jay will know for that. So here's what Derek Johnson

post last night. The question is why Jaylo posted what he did. It's simple. Y'all love blaming 18 to 21 year olds for the season. But if Kentucky is Camelot, the greatest place on earth, why is everybody leaving coaches too? Let me spell it out. Leadership, and that's all in caps. Kids chasing their dreams don't just want hype. They want to be coached developed and understood.

Now, Mo is gone too. At some point, you have to to stop blaming the kids and start looking at the source. Mark doesn't connect with these young men. Maybe Colin, but that's about it. It's a different era and he's not speaking their language. And let's be real. Name one game we came out ready to dominate from the jump. I'll wait. But nah, keep blaming 19 year olds. Say they want too much money. Truth is, you're mad because they're making more than you. We live in a capitalist society. If it was your kid, you'd want every dollar and every opportunity to. So essentially just puts Mark Pope on blast.

I mean, that one's not even about fans. That one's about Mark Pope. Says basically Mark Pope can't relate to the players. Now, you're friends with Derek. I don't know Derek. I know he got frustrated at me, but I don't know him. He played at Kentucky.

He has repeatedly now taking shots at essentially everything to do with Kentucky in the last couple weeks. The fans, the media, the coaches, the administration. I mean, Derek is basically, if you're anything having to do with Kentucky, you stink. That's been his position over the last couple weeks. It's just a fact. I'm not trying to, I'm just reading what he says.

I've always had the view with parents, and Derek is his uncle. It's not his parents. I don't know why they do this. You've now just met you. You are only hurting the kid when you do this. Because now this is going to get associated with Jasper, a kid who seems like a great young man. But he said it,

and he is an uncle and a very prominent former Kentucky player. So what do you make up? Like he said, I've known Derek a long time. I consider him a friend, and we've had phone conversations about this. And I think he doesn't mind me saying. I've told him, I said, dude, you know, be careful, tread lightly. but I think they're hurt.

They're just hurt that it... Do you think this helps? No. But does he think it helps? I mean, obviously, I don't think it helps, but... I'm not sure. I mean, I'm sure we'll have a conversation the next day or two, and I think he wants what best for Jasper,

but I think this is not the right way to go about it. This is not going to help. No, and I think, you know, when I tell him that, he'll probably down in his heart agree. The Johnson family means a lot to this state, the city of Hairsburg, city of Lexington, UK. And I just hate it that it's come to this. Yeah.

I mean, this isn't like unique to Jasper. Anytime a relative or parent starts firing off like this, it's just not a good look. Like you said, it falls on the kid. Now, Jasper's going to be looking for another school. Who's to say the coach won't pull up a Facebook thing? He'd be like, am I going to have to deal with this when you're here? Because this is part of, this is part of Jasper's story now.

I mean, he's done it all year. There's even a post where he said Pope clearly doesn't. like Jasper's game. I mean, he's kind of been on this for a while. And while I don't disagree with his point in a lot of ways, it's just when Jasper's saying nothing and even Dennis is saying nothing, but the uncle is just firing stuff off. It's just, you don't want that to be your only messenger speaking on behalf of the kid. All right, so put aside, I agree with all that. So put aside whether Derek should have written it. What about the substance of what's in it? Mark does not know how to motivate these kids. None of the players

except Colin connected with it. For me and the outside looking in, I think it's fair to say there was a disconnect this year. I don't know what caused it or what it was, but it just seemed like there was a little disconnect between the coaches and the players. I agree. And I, Derek Johnson or Jasper,

would know more about this than I would. So it's hard for me to criticize the substance. I can criticize whether he should have done it. But the substance, I mean, I can't say because I'm not in the locker room. I do think, though, you can't help but go, oh, somebody saying this is worrisome. Now, at the same time, I would say Jasper wasn't good. And I hate to say that because he's a kid.

But at some point, we also have to acknowledge what we saw on the court, right? When he went in, most of the time, the team was not as good. So to some extent, I don't know what you expect Mark Pope to do. Just keep playing him. But now on the motivational side, that probably is happening before the games. And maybe I don't know what Derek says has substance or not, Drew. Yeah, the locker room stuff, I'll admit when you see that, you're like, man, I mean, he would know. Like, I disagree he should be posting it.

At the same time, I'm not just throwing it away like he's making it up. And a lot of things he said about Jasper's game, I agree with a little bit. It's just the post. But he wasn't good. And I don't know why. I am a huge believer that these are kids, even making money. They are kids. You shouldn't write them.

You shouldn't be angry. But on some level, you are signing up to play basketball at Kentucky. There is going to be conversations about how you play. And I don't know how you can't expect that people are going to go. He came in the Iowa State game, played 83 seconds when we were minus nine. like what are you supposed to say yeah because he's he's I believe he's better than that

it just didn't work we all believe that too but it didn't happen we're just reacting to what we saw we're not trying to judge him overall and I don't see how it helps that as you're walking out the door to go it was all Mark Pope's fault right

because maybe some of it was Mark Pope's fault maybe most of it was but the fact is what happened happened. Mark Pope is not what made him not be able to get through ball screens or just dribble it up and turn it over or miss a three. Like some of that is, you know, that's why this is such a big year. You got to prove to all of us in the locker room. And I want whatever school he goes to, I want him to kill it. Yeah. I'll be rude for him. If he goes to Alabama, do your thing. I hope when

you're not playing us, I hope you go off. But I just don't know how this helps, especially, and there's a part of it Because this dude went to Kentucky. He played here. Like a royalty around here. His brother was one of the highest ranked recruits to ever come here. One of the best defensive players we've ever had. We're the best defensive players we've ever had here. And his dad is one of the legendary high school coaches to ever be in this state.

So I don't know. I don't think this helps. I wish we didn't have to talk about it. But the problem is when you're him and you, do it, it's going to be out there. And he knows it. At this point, he knows that. Yeah. Because it's gone viral several times. So he's intentionally making the decision to do

this. It's like when Jane Quince's dad was posted. Like, you know people are going to read this. And when you pull back the curtain and get it, take us in behind the scenes in that locker room, you've got to be careful what you say. Yeah. And

the stuff that's over the top and cruel don't excuse me that, but at some point you're trying to go to the NBA. People are critical of your game. If you want to be a one and done, okay, you go to the Knicks. You think New York fans are just going to be patting

you on the back all the time. You've got to have a thick skin in this game. Go look at any conversation about Cambooser or Darren Peterson or AJ or Tyron Stokes. Look at, I mean, like you're not above these critics. Like that's what you sign up for. So Bob and James,

yeah. Bob. Yeah. Matt, I got a comment about Portal. And also, last Monday, I offended your man who, a guy in the barbershop offered me a considerable amount of money to ask you a question about your sexual orientation. And I wouldn't, I wouldn't, I didn't want to discuss it. But you just, you realize you just did. I mean, you realize that like, by saying that you essentially just did.

Well, I think it was maybe I was hosting a postgame show, but my best friend was at the Atlanta airport,

and he texted me, said, I'm washing my hands, and in the stall behind me is you're in Matt's voice, just coming out from someone's cell phone. So maybe we're big in bathrooms. Maybe we are. All right, we got a lot of people on the phone, so let's do a few of these. Let's go to Rob.

Go ahead, Rob. I just wanted to make a comment on Deaton Collins. I looked up to his injury. His dad said he took a bad step. he's got scar tissue was removed. I would not take the kid. I mean, if I took him, he was in my second choice in that he would be a backup point guard.

He's not coming to be a backup. So he's not coming to be a backup. So the question, go ahead with what you're saying, but that won't happen. Well, I just saying with my experience, how do we, with post experience, my experience is a physician, I wouldn't take him. So you're a physician,

and is there something about the injury that would make you worried it would happen again? Well, it says it's scar tissue. Scar tissue can reoccur. Everything I looked up was non-specific. So it wasn't planter fasciitis, did he do something? We don't know what he did in his foot. But if it's scar tissue, then scar tissue can reoccur.

I don't think it's worth Mark Pope's job a gamble. I understand that. Okay, appreciate the call. Jacob. Go ahead, Jacob. Hey, guys, I got a comment and a quick question. with Pope saying that he had a summer tournament, does that, you know, like speed up the process of him trying to throw together a roster?

You're talking about summer tour or whatever that we're doing? You know, he's going to have this roster within three weeks anyway, I would think. So I think the fact that they, you know, the summer thing allows them to, well, they get to practice now anyway. So really it doesn't, it's just a chance to play some games. So, no, I don't really think it has much of an effect. Okay. And I got a million-dollar idea.

Instead of neighbors, you make a show called Roommate and you and Ryan Lemon live together. Yeah, that's not happening. Come on. It's not having. No, I'm sorry. I appreciate to call. That's not happening. Speaking of roommates, my old roommate's going to be back here Thursday.

Max. Max is coming in. May come on the show Friday, too. He doesn't know that he's coming, but if he wants a place to stay, He doesn't always come to America or he doesn't always come to the show. I don't think he knows. He, me and him and Miles are going to see Kings of Leon Saturday. Oh.

I don't even care about Kings of Leon. He loves Kings of Leon's his favorite band. But I will say there are very few things that entertain me more than a night with Max and Miles. Those two dudes are hilarious. Especially after they have a couple of them. So they were like, let's hang out Saturday night. We'll go to Kings of Leon. And I was like, oh, hang out.

out with Max Miles, yes. Concert, Kings of Leon, but I decided I would go. It'd be good to see him. I don't think I know one Kings of Leon song. Rick, will you play whatever the first Kings of Leon song is in the system when we come back? Sure thing. All right. That way I can hear what I'm going to hear Saturday night. Nathaniel, go ahead and Nathaniel. Hey, guys, just wanted to just wanted to touch on the Derek Jasper Johnson thing real quick. Obviously, like you all said, can't really refute anything he's saying because we're not in there. And I'm sure that they have a lot more insight than we do.

However, I don't know if I would agree with his old he can't connect with these kids because I don't seem to recall a whole lot of locker room issues from the previous year. It seemed like everything went pretty well there. So could have just been a situation. Yeah, I agree with that. Maybe for whatever reason. It may be just he couldn't connect with this group for whatever reason. Exactly. That was kind of my point. Maybe these guys, for whatever reason, like you said, couldn't connect with them. But I don't know if this is some bigger issue that we need to be concerned with about both. Yeah, I appreciate the call. You know, I don't know, Drew, that anyone can connect with every type of person, right? I think you're not going to convince me he didn't connect well with Lamont, Butler, Amari Williams, Andrew Carr, Jackson Robinson, Kobe, I mean, it feels like he definitely did with that group.

Yeah, I mean, Jackson Robinson followed him from BYU. Yeah, that's right. Thompson came from BYU. And in the post, he kind of mentions like all these guys are leaving. Well, some of them are leaving because they're going to get paid a lot more money. It doesn't necessarily mean that it didn't work out with Pope. I mean, maybe it didn't work with Pope, but it's not the only reason. At least Diabate, I know very much considered stay.

I think the money thing didn't work out. But it wasn't just like he was like, I'm out of here. You know, I'm out of here. I don't know about Garrison and I don't know what that was. But Diabate, at least, I mean, there were conversations about staying. So it wasn't just like, get me away from this guy. So, yeah. But not everybody connects with everybody, you know.

Like they've got, I guess, the ones, when I drive by, because it's not far from my house, I still see a lot of people at the one. Molly Malone's actually doesn't have people. The one across the street, the other Irish one. Yeah. There are people still at that one. What's it called? I used to know this stuff.

He goes after him year one, doesn't get him, comes back, gets him the next year. This is big for Scoop. I still have the screenshot ready to go if he commits. Scoop last March tweeted Magoon,

Well, I guess he was trying to be contemporary. Well, I don't know a lot of nude people that are out doing. Would you want to live in those communities?

Probably not, no. Yeah, I don't think so either. So you kind of felt sorry for it. Yeah, he tried so hard. I mean, she was probably half his age. A third. Yeah, I mean, he was buying her shoes and said come live with me,

and she just didn't seem like she was into them too much. I think that's probably fair. Were you a little shocked by all the nudity? Yeah, it's a lot of well-endowed people there. Whoa. I love Rick. Okay, Rick, I didn't expect you to go there. All right, well, good.

There you go. What about the texting, Rick, when he wouldn't stop texting? Yeah, I mean, that was a lot of texting. Like, you can't do more than like three without a response, right? Yeah, he was getting a little say. I kind of felt sorry for him too. I did too. I had to stop.

I had to look away. Yeah, he just kept texting. I'll be honest with you. Yeah. Ryan, I had to look away. When he kept sending text, I kind of, that was the only time in all six episodes. I was like, I can't. Come on, Rick.

or not sorry, Rick Jerry, stop. Of all the moments of that, that's the one time you looked away during that episode. I looked away a few times, I'll be honest. That's true. I did look away at some other things too. I was odd. Like, the whole, what the most shocking thing to me was that that community exists.

But there are people like mowing, naked, like, you know, they're not just like, like, they're doing yard work. Everything. Everything. I like that is I cannot imagine wanting to do that or having the self confidence to do that and then the people that have the self confidence there wasn't one objectively attractive person there not one men or there was no one attractive one guy looked like Santa Claus had the big beard big belly that was one of the best bellies I was one of the best bellies I I've ever seen. The roundest belly, maybe ever. They just go up and hug each other when they see each other.

Did you notice, though? I did notice this. They do have some, they hugged, but moved apart from each other. The middle school dance move. They left a little space. I did notice when they would hug, they would still be like, okay. And nobody can sing karaoke. That's your takeaway.

That's your takeaway. No one can sing karaoke. I felt sorry for Danny. They're trying to get through Take It Easy. It was a struggle. Well, yeah. Karaoke. Can you imagine going to old person naked karaoke?

And that one woman left her college campus to go to it. What did like UCF? Not like some little small school. You think they'd have karaoke around there. I was like, like, what? What? And then she's a rapper? That was a curveball.

Oh, yeah. Shake. Was it shake that? And I like the. He tried to act like he liked it for her. Uh-huh. He loved her. Yeah, he put his old man glasses on just to see that music video on her telephone.

He did. He did put his glasses on. Yeah. Yeah. His old man glasses. Ryan, did you enjoy it? I found a new future career for me. You know, the realtor was the realtor of the nudes.

But the realtor got to keep her clothes on. See, I can do that. Oh, you want to be the realtor at a nudist. And my niche is naked people. I think I can kind of carve a niche on that. Please don't. Well, who knew that existed? Show as a whole.

Love it? Yeah, there were parts where I'm like, we got to quit putting crazy people on television, but you just couldn't look away. Why? Some of them just like, they need to seek some actual professional help, but I couldn't look away. What about the senator? the former Texas state senator and the woman with the wall,

he looked like the old man on South Park. I didn't think that wall was that bad. I mean, it was big, but he was, he was compared it to a compound. Why do people care so much about people having a wall? Like, it really bothered him, but what, why? Yeah, didn't he compare it to like him? No, he thought it was a cartel wall, which, by the way, he's not wrong about that. Have I told, have I said on the air of the story about going to the guy's house?

in Mexico? I don't think so. That's a long story. I don't really have time to do it. But one time I, when I was, you remember I went to Mexico City as for a wrestling thing? Yeah, yeah. I went to Mexico City to meet with the owners of a wrestling company about maybe doing a partnership. We were going to do wrestlers Mexico. Right. I remember that. And so I went to a Mexican wrestling show. Right. On the main Mexico military base in Mexico City. So it was all Mexicans. And, me. I was it.

I'm serious. I was the only, I had to get special clearance just to be allowed in, right? Get in. Next day I go to meet the guy and he gives me the address

and I get in an Uber and like it's taking me to a neighborhood where you're like, oh. You know, I'm like to the Uber guy. Like, this is good? This can't be where this is, right? Because this dude's wealthy.

And then he was like, this is it. So I said to the guy, like, stay right here. You know, I'm knocking the doorbell. And he's got one of those walls. Like crazy. It was like the wall in the show. And then he opens the gate and it's like paradise.

Like pools, palm trees. But across the street, like, and it's kind of how that looked, except that woman seemed nuts. But, you know. And then it was like you were in paradise. And then I left. and I went back in the Uber and went back to the part of Mexico City I felt safer in.

You're about to have property. You're going to build one of those walls? Apparently you can't. And the guy won. So she had to tear down her wall. She did. A couple feet of it at least. That episode when it started,

I thought the older one was going to end up being the crazy one and she was going to be the normal one. Oh, you thought he was rational? At first I thought he was going to end up being crazy because I thought he was a little paranoid about the fence and stuff. But then as the episode, and went on, it kind of flipped.

I love the show. I think it's great. And Rick, I appreciate you watching the last episode. I'm glad to hear what you got out of. Well, I got sucked in so much. I watched three other ones, too. Oh, so you like it. Yeah, it's pretty wild.

Good. What was your favorite? I think out of all the ones that I saw, probably the one where that one guy had a farm on his front lawn with chickens and dogs. Oh, that dude. Episode two is the best. Yeah, episode two. That was funny.

Do you think people should be able to have a farm in their suburban yard with like pigs? That's gross. Some of the neighbors kept complaining about the smell of everything. If that's the one where I felt like the neighbors had the best argument. Yes, me too. Right. Like you cannot have a farm in the middle of this neighbor. And then he doubled down and ordered more animals at the end to just make it even bigger.

Yeah. That was the one where I was sided most with the neighbor. And that was just like barely outside of Indianapolis. and that guy's just got animals running wild in a suburb. Oh, that was gross. It'll be out there soon. Can we, before they lose, because they'll probably lose tonight because they're playing a good picture. They have the, I think the fewest runs scored in baseball and the fewest runs allowed,

Abbott threw really well the game. We saw opening days. He's had to go up against, what, crochet, skeins, and now this guy. So he's had a tough. Uh-huh. What happens when you're the ace? It happens when you're the ace,

and your other guy's got a stupid blister. Riley, go ahead, Riley. Go ahead. So I just have a couple questions. Or I have a question in a comment. So first question is, what is your all like dream portal class, maybe like three, four guys? And then my second thing with the Thomas Jr. guy from LSU, I don't know. I mean, I like his game, but I mean, Pope, like, what are we doing getting another injured point card?

Like, in year three, like you've had two back-to-back years. And it just seems like we're, he really wants that lefty point guard, too. I don't know. He likes the lefty point guard. I appreciate the call. I mean, I think his, you know, his argument probably would be, well, Butler didn't have a history of injury. He still got injured. Lowe had an injury, but it wasn't the one he got, but he got it, you know, so I guess it's, but I get why people would be worried about it.

But I would like to be able to answer that question for you, but they don't talk to anybody right now. So it's hard to know what they're thinking. I have said to the folks at UK, whether it's me or someone else, you all need to be communicating a message to people so that Fans understand where the coaching staff is coming from, but they just don't believe they need to do that. And I generally have found in history that when coaches do that, that does not work out. That's how generally speaking, when coaches get quiet,

that's rarely a good idea. Sometimes it works. It worked for Cal sometimes. Cow would kind of go in and out of talking. But it just rarely works. But I hope it does. I mean, hopefully as far as what's your class wants, we need a great point guard.

We need a couple guys who can score and a couple bigs, and there you go. And hopefully Stokes, even though still not optimistic about that one, but not over yet. Do we're worried all that there's still like an open assistant coaching job? I mean, we're going at this. You got to feel like, though, they haven't. Someone working. Yeah. You still would like to have a full team.
