What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue 42.
Hey, my mama want you to weigh better.
What?
Hey, Miss Parker.

things and I'm going to go right back to the phones.
Text machine is 772-745254. Sorry to the text machine
people. I've gotten a little busy. I just
haven't been on it as much, but
I will read your stuff when the
show is over. All right, so
the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Shannon,
I feel like we, first of all, I feel like they pick people a lot
because I feel like we have this conversation
a lot. But it's a conversation you're perfect
for. I will read you. Did you see who got in?
I did. So we're going to say,
do you think these people deserve to get in?
We'll start with Oasis.
Yes.
They were kind of like the modern day, or I guess the 90s, it was modern day, like the Beatles.
Everybody loved Oasis back then.
Yeah, I mean, they had a short run, but at their top, they literally said they were bigger than the Beatles.
That's right, yeah.
The Gallagher brothers seemed just awful.
They hate each other.
Now, do they still hate each other?
No, I think they're back out in touring.
Okay.
So they can show up to.
together. Yeah. All right. So there,
Ian, are you good with that? I'm good with the oasis being in.
All right. Billy Idol.
Yeah, I think you got to put him. I was kind of surprised he wasn't already in.
I'm a little surprised he got in because I don't see him as a serious person.
But there were a point in the 80s, though, where he was as big as anybody.
What do you mean? You think it's a comedian? What do you mean you don't see him a serious person?
I feel like, because his music to me is always kind of a little joky. Like,
he cried more, more, more.
No, that's just how he's seen.
Okay, what was other
So white wedding
White wedding
Okay, but also kind of a
joky song
Moni moni
I didn't know so
He did monie moony
Yeah
That's a huge song
Yeah, Rupperina
Special for dancing guys
Okay so those are three huge songs
They were huge at the time
Anything else
White Wedding
More
Cratel of Love
Oh that's another big one
Rock the cradle of love
Dancing with myself
Oh another good
Okay, well, all right, so he's got to be in.
Those are five huge songs.
All right, fair enough.
Iron Maiden, I'm sure you believe they should be.
Well, I'm not a big fan of Iron Maiden.
They are headlighting louder than life, and metal heads love them.
So, yeah, if you're going to have metal music in, then you've got to have Iron Maiden, right?
Because, I mean, they're, you know, I don't know who Joy Division and New Order are.
I don't know who that is.
Do you?
Not really.
I mean, I know they exist, but if you said, like, tell me a song.
But what kind of music is that?
I really don't know.
I don't either.
No idea.
Is it like?
No idea.
I was hoping you guys knew.
Find me, Shannon, the biggest Joy Division song.
Okay.
Saidae.
Isn't that how you say it?
You don't say say, I remember that from when they were.
Sa'day.
Smooth operator.
That's a big song.
But I feel like that one to me is a stretch.
Yeah.
I don't feel like I remember her, but like it doesn't feel like she was that big.
Give me another song.
She's a one-hit wonder.
I don't know another song, but I know that that was so big.
I'm surprised she beat out Lauren Hill.
They're both like R&B singers.
And Mariah Carey didn't make it.
See, Mariah Carey should be in way before Sawdack.
Agreed.
So.
Lauren Hill, too.
All right.
Luther Vandross.
I was surprised Luther Vandross wasn't already in.
True.
Because it feels like to me Luther Vandross has existed my entire life.
And every time I think of Luther Vandross, I think of Luther Vandross, I think
of Kings of Comedy when he goes, I like fat Luther, not skinny Luther.
That's Cedric the Entertainer, I think.
Yeah.
I don't, however, know a Luther Vandross song.
Yeah, you do.
One shining moment.
One shining moment.
Oh, of course.
But that's not, I mean, that's only with the tournament.
Do you know a song?
Then he'd do some Disney songs, Disney movie songs.
Like what?
I don't know.
But he feels like to me.
someone that's really, really famous?
Here's his greatest hits. I'm going to name a few.
You tell me if you know these songs.
Okay. Never too much.
Nope.
Endless love.
I know that song. My endless love.
Yes.
Dance with my father.
You don't know.
I'd rather.
No.
Here and now.
Always and forever.
So amazing.
I know always in forever.
Okay. So amazing.
A house is not a home.
That sounds awful.
Take you out.
If only for one, okay, yeah, if only for one night.
So we know one or two.
So I think he's one of those weird people, sort of like Wayne Newton,
where like he's very, very popular, but I don't really know if his music is popular.
That's a good way to put it.
It sells out a lot of shows, but yet is it really like good?
We talked about this with Wayne Newton.
He's massively popular, and I'm not really sure what he sings either.
So, but I'm okay with him being in.
And then Wu-Tang Clan, I mean, they're nothing to, to, to,
blank with so they're in i mean that it feels like they i don't know how they're like 37 of those
guys yeah so but i'm okay with them being in too shannon you're all right with wu tain yeah i mean if
we're putting everybody in which we are then i think they're big enough name that you put them in
but i think you know sadae over maria carry come on i think sadae should not be in come on and i
i can't say that joy division shouldn't be in but since i don't know who they are i kind of don't
think they should be in. Do you have a Joy Division song? I can play one after the break.
We can. You want it right now? Well, I just don't know the name of it. Uh, love will tear us apart.
92 million views. Somebody knows it. It's not us. All right. Well, not me. If you want it,
I can give you something. Go for it. Yeah. I know you love these long intros. Is this a professional
song? This sounds like it's made in a garage. It kind of does, doesn't it? Yeah, this is, no,
this is terrible. And this is from their official YouTube account, too. This isn't somebody who
uploaded like a bad version of it. Yeah, that's bad. So I would take them out. Now, Phil Collins
also got it. Oh, yeah, of course. He was the big name. Phil Collins. I think Genesis is
already in, so he'd be in twice. I'm good with Phil Collins. Oh, yeah. I can't dance. Yeah.
What were the others he did as a solo? In the air tonight? In the air tonight. That's the big one. Yeah.
Now, apparently, Phil Collins and Oasis hate each other. Oh, really? Like have
Stipe, like Oasis, for 30 years they have talked trash about each other, apparently.
They're going in at the same time.
But they're part of the same class.
And people in Britain are saying like they're going to have to keep them apart.
I like that shit.
I like that these two entities who don't like each other are part of the same.
I would put them on like back to back.
That way they have to cross each other when one leaves the stage and the next one enters.
I think that's, I think that's good.
So there's your Rock and Roll Hall fame up there.
Yeah, the big debate, I guess, was the fact that they did not put in Mariah Carey and Lauren Hill.
Mariah Carey should be in.
Yeah.
Certainly oversaw day.
I think there was another female pink.
Yeah.
She'll get in eventually.
Yeah.
I don't feel like some of these people have been around long enough, but I guess they have 25 years, I guess is what.
Yeah, a long time.
Yeah.
Did you see what happened at the White House with the DoorDash yesterday?
No.
At the White House?
So they were doing something.
and they tried to act like this.
So a woman delivered McDonald's via DoorDash to the White House.
And they tried to act like it was random.
Now, no one believes that's random, right?
No.
You can't just show up.
DoorDash can't just show up at the White House.
And all of a sudden, they're standing next to the president and going,
here's your McDonald's.
We know there's a lot of security you got to get through.
Right.
So they had to have set that up.
She was a grandmother.
And then it was about,
It was about how he wants to do no tax on tips.
But there's a great moment that I want to make sure everybody sees.
Because this is like a sweet little granny.
Right?
Okay.
And she's giving them the door dash.
In the White House.
And she has a t-shirt on that says,
Grandmother does door dash.
And Shannon, while as she's up there,
you know, Trump starts talking about other stuff.
And then Trump is like,
and we keep the men.
of the girl's sports.
And then he looks at this woman and goes,
you don't want men
in girls sports, right?
And she's like,
I just brought the door dash.
Good for her.
I don't know anything about that.
I just want the door dash.
And I love that.
Because you know, she was like, I get to go to the White House.
Here's DoorDash.
The next thing you know, she's on a press conference
Shannon Bean asked questions.
and she's like, I just, just, here's your big dog.
My name's Bennett and I ain't in it.
Took a lot for her probably not.
I mean, for me, though, if you're in that situation, don't you want to say what you feel?
Or would you, like, no, I'm just here for the DoorDash.
Takes a lot of restraint on her part.
Yeah.
I would hear my grievances.
I've got over.
I've got the world watching.
But she might be worried that DoorDash will fire her if she says the wrong thing.
Right.
Yeah, I would just, I would probably say what I felt, but I can understand why Granny didn't
want to do that at the time.
And he's like, just give me my tips so I can go back out and deliver my next delivery.
Brian, go ahead, Brian.
Oh, yeah, can you hear me?
Yes.
Yeah, I got a couple things.
What do you think, in your all's opinion, what is the appeal of him really wanting to go
to Kansas?
I mean, I get it.
It's Bill's self, but Bill's self is not the Bill's self of, you know, years ago.
I mean, he's had good teams.
He hasn't really done a whole lot.
And like he said, they don't have a team.
I guess him and Ted Kenny just,
going to pass the ball to each other.
I think that people, I mean, from what I understand, I think players tend to really like
Bill Self.
They have their own culture there that guys enjoy.
I mean, I do think a game environment at Kansas is probably better than any other place
in the country.
You know, I mean, it's a question of why do you like anything, right?
Like, I mean, some people have different things that attract them.
And, you know, in recent years, they've had a run of guys who've been very successful.
from there.
So, I mean, that's my guess.
Right.
And the other thing is, is if he's already signed a Nike contract,
wouldn't Nike have like red flags saying,
hey, you want to go play for Adidas school?
But, you know, we signed you as to be a Nike representative.
What would that call?
I think that's a huge part of this.
Yeah, I think that's a huge part of this.
I appreciate the call.
I mean, my assumption is Nike is saying to him go to Kentucky.
Like, that's my assumption.
I'm sure they're putting a lot of pressure on him to say.
Appreciate the call.
Yeah.
I mean,
I signed you to this Nike deal.
You got to wear Nike to go to a Nike school.
Yeah.
Now, Kansas, I think I heard, has put in the contract he can wear Nike's there.
He can do it.
He can wear Nike gear even if he wants to.
But his uniform will have Adidas on it.
But the caller is like the question, why would you go to Kansas?
If you're a top recruit, probably the only schools you're looking at are like Kentucky, Kansas, Duke.
You know?
Also, like, you know how.
Shannon, when we say Kansas, we're like, that place sucks.
Yeah, it does.
But if you live in California and you've never been here, you might think the same thing about Kentucky.
You know, I mean, we love it.
But to a lot of America, everything in between New York and L.A. is just land.
Yeah, but we're Hollywood compared to Kansas.
I agree with you, but if you've never been here, you wouldn't know that.
You know what I mean?
You went to Kansas and you go, oh, okay.
Like go to New York or L.A. or Miami and just say you're from Kentucky.
And they'll go, oh.
I almost laugh at you.
And Kansas is the same way.
So, I mean, a kid that's 18 that's not been.
Now, Tyron has a connection to Kentucky, obviously.
Yes.
But like, we know Kentucky's better than Kansas, but a lot of people wouldn't know that.
And if you're a high-profile basketball player like this,
You're just worried about the arena, the atmosphere, your living conditions, and your money.
I agree.
To heck with the rest of the city.
Pete, go ahead, Pete.
Hey, guys.
I didn't know if you all mentioned it late last week.
I couldn't hear the show Friday, but Coach French, Coach Larry French, passed away last week.
Yeah, we did mention it.
We talked about him.
We talked about him for a while, yes.
Okay, I apologize.
That's okay.
Okay.
Yeah, I'm sorry about it.
He was just, he touched so many kids and he won everywhere he went and just, just retired at Middlesboro in January.
So I just like to hear that.
I really appreciate that.
Of course.
One other football thing, I know there's been a lot of talking about whether Cole Britch was retained by UK football.
And he was.
He was a student assistant last year, kind of turned around the title.
in room. And now he's a
grant assistant and then works directly
for Coach Stein. So
I think the football program
has went on his way.
I appreciate the call.
Yeah. April is Pet Adoption

I love that.

All right, so it's Shadee, not Sadae.
Shadee.
And this is, I have heard this.
Oh, yeah, this was big.
But there's nothing else.
No.
And if we're putting in one hit wonders, then when does Chumbabwamba get in?
Hopefully soon.
I'd vote for them over this.
I mean, this is a good song, but I don't know how you could say this should get in before Mariah Carey.
I don't know how you can't either.
Mariah Carey has massive hits.
Yes.
So a couple updates.
One, the DoorDash Lady.
Yeah.
Apparently is a regular person Trump uses at events to be various jobs.
Oh.
See, why do they do?
do that because like somebody's going to find that out uh-huh right so just get someone else someone
I'm sure someone works at door dash that likes Trump right just use them but I wonder how they do
that like with security though like if you're going to give food to the president that has to run
through security to make sure you didn't oh without question so I don't know how they could even
dooredash that to the president I don't think they could so we should have known that
yeah no that's true I mean I but like they're a video
of her doing other things at Trump events.
So she's just a character.
See, I thought she was just a sweet grandma doing Dord.
So they thought they got me though.
That's why they do it.
But my point is in 2006,
they're going to,
people are going to,
like,
people have nothing to do,
Shannon,
they're going to figure it out.
Right.
Of course,
yeah.
She had the grandma t-shirt on.
She did.
Her T-shirt said she was,
well,
she might be a grandma.
She just may not do Dorda.
No,
do Dordash.
Yeah.
Okay.
I don't think she's a grandma.
I think she's a liar
She just
She was in an event the other day saying
Dad's for Trump
What?
What are you doing?
One person writes Matt
You see what the tactic the rays pulled
During bark in the park night
During it before a couple of big plays and pitches
They would use a doorbell sound
That is especially sensitive to dogs
So they would bark throughout the pitch
Oh, that's awesome
Is that fair?
It's your home field advantage.
Yes, it's fair.
Fair game, Shannon, to use a high-pitched dog sound.
If you're a major league baseball player and you can't throw a strike because a dog is barking,
that's on you.
You can't blame the stadium or the fans or anybody else for that or the dogs.
Interesting.
Wow, that is interesting.
I love it.
Great trick.
All right.
Thank you, Tex Machine, for telling me that.
Who you got, Ryan, Alex Cooper, Alex Earle?
Who are these two people?
I knew that was going to be his answer.
who's Alex Earl and Alex Cooper.
You don't know who either one of them is?
Do not.
Okay.
Do you know who they are?
Oh, neither does Mario.
See, this is a good intersection.
Ryan doesn't know them because they're young.
Mario doesn't know him because they're white.
I think, am I wrong?
Probably not.
I don't know who they are.
Exactly.
I don't know.
They're just in,
they're like TikTok people.
Have you ever heard of Call Her Daddy?
No.
You have.
Yeah.
I've heard of it.
podcast. It's like the biggest podcast for women.
No.
So you'd not heard of anything.
I don't listen to it.
Mario's heard of that.
She does that.
Then Alex Earl,
I will say to you,
I don't know why this woman is famous.
So both the Alex is her girls?
She just puts on makeups.
Both of them are girls?
Yeah, makeup.
Alex with an knee and one has an eye.
Point is they're fighting.
Oh.
Over what?
Don't know.
We don't know.
Well, now we've got to find out.
So this, this is the, for some reason,
I think this is interesting.
They're fighting, and apparently they've fought for a long time,
but nobody knows why they're fighting.
So one Alex went on TikTok and said,
I'm tired of other Alex acting like I did something wrong.
If you're going to say I did something wrong,
just say it.
Stop hitting at it.
And then the other Alex responds,
okay, it's coming.
So there you go.
And that's where we stand right now?
I think that's where we stand.
America awaits what Alex did to the other Alex.
I'm so, I'm going to be able to go to sleep tonight
but I find out what the one Alex did on TikTok
to the other Alex.
You know what would be funny, Shannon?
What's that?
Is to get Ryan to research this
and give us a report tomorrow.
That's what we should do then.
How about we do that?
Okay.
You do a little research on Alex.
Alex with an eye and Alex with an E.
Versus Alex.
Okay.
And tomorrow, for people who are like you,
I think we have a lot of listeners who have no idea who these people are.
No idea.
And do not care.
Yeah.
But you're going to make them care.
I'm going to make them care.
Well, that's your homework.
Okay, I got it.
Alex versus Alex.
I'll research as much as I can find.
While the rest of us are looking to see what Rob Wright does,
you figure out what the Cooper Earl battle.
But if the one Alex won't divulge why she's mad at the other Alex.
This is the kind of thing you, he's a reporter, Shannon.
This is the kind of thing he needs to figure out.
You need to dig into it.
Getting the Reddit threads.
All the Reddit threads.
There you go.
It'd be my first time.
Good luck.
Joe.
Go ahead, Joe.
yeah man uh i'm not to get your take on what's it look like with tyrant stokes making more money than
pope next year well that's seriously what what does pope make next year like five million a year isn't
what's what's the what's the pope amount do you know sir appreciate the call i thought yes sir
go ahead do you know yeah i think it's right at five million so like i was so right at five million
I'm going to get right.
Okay.
I appreciate the call.
I would say, if that's true,
Tyron Stokes could be the first player in college to ever make more than his coach.
Wow.
Wow.
Bill Self makes a lot more than that.
Yes.
So that would be.
But yeah, that's a really, really interesting thought.
Although I don't know.
A.J. DeVonsa might make more than the guy at BYU did.
That's true.
Yes.
Because he made six.
Uh-huh.
So DeBonds, I'd be interested to see what the BYU.
But they paid that BYU coach a lot of money.
I don't have you made that much.
That would be interesting.
Let's see.
What's the BYU coach make?
9 million.
So no.
Nine million a year?
The BYU coach makes 9 million a year?
That can't be right.
Football.
Okay.
That's still a lot for their football coach.
It's a state where he was.
My goodness.
Four meal.
So then DeBonce has already been the first one.
Because DeBonce made more than four.
Yes.
Okay.
Interesting, though.
I had never thought about it like that.
Jacob.
Jacob.
Hey, guys.
One, do we know if Rob Wright is still on campus as of right now?
Yes, he is.
He is on campus as of now.
Yeah.
And two, is Jeff Goodman like a fan of the Wildcats?
or does he like Mark Pope or does he not?
Because, I mean, I get mixed signals from that guy.
I don't think he's a fan of the wild...
Go ahead.
What did you say?
Okay.
Go cats.
Go cats.
All right.
I don't think he's a fan of the Wildcats,
but I do think he likes Mark Pope a lot.
I appreciate the call.
There you guys.
And he's come around to our, even our fans, I think,
are more open to liking Jeff Goodman.
Yeah.
Jeff didn't like Cal.
That was the key.
And that's turned our...
And Cal didn't like Jeff.
Yeah.
And that was a very strong dislike both ways.
So our fans took Cal's side.
As they, as did I.
Yes.
But now that Cal's gone,
the thing about all these national guys,
we drive the revenue.
So they're going to engage with us if they can.
And he does.
We'll take a break right back. KSR.
T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney.
Call T.J. He'll make them pay.
Now more of Kentucky Sports
Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.
I do like Oasis.
I mean, I only know this song and Champaign
Supernova.
You don't know any others? You probably know a bunch of other ones.
Tell me one. Tell me one. Don't look back in anger.
It was also off that one. Okay, do you know that one. Yeah. There's three
anymore.
I mean, there's other ones, but I don't think you would know them.
So I know three.
You probably know the one's off the album. I do like this song, though.
I've been like like when you're hey bear bear yeah I like that this was huge man ohis oasis was huge
when I was in college don't think they're ever close to the Beatles but they're big no huge like
everybody in college you walk down the halls yeah they they were listening to oasis you think in the 90s
it's kind of what you think of that to me oasis is always one of them all right real quick for a lot of
people on the phone I do want to talk to these people we got to talk about what happened at chavid chase
Oh, yeah.
All right.
So how would you describe, Ryan, as a realtor in Lexington?
How would you describe the people, many of whom are listening, so be careful, the people who live in Chevy Chase?
Kind of an upper scale, upper-income, area.
Old Louisville, though.
Yeah.
Because, like, I consider it people who have some money, but also, like, want to be kind of in the city.
Yes.
You know, because a lot of people move out.
to the sub, like, farther areas, but these people are still in the city.
Older houses.
Older houses, you're still close enough to downtown.
You feel like you're still part of the downtown.
Still could kind of walk around places.
But these houses are just these massive, beautiful two-story houses.
Some of them are.
Some of them are old.
Everything's worth a lot of money because of the location.
Correct.
But some of the houses are older.
Some of them are beautiful and large, depending on where you are.
A lot of people like to buy the older houses and then just pimp them out.
Got it and redo it.
and redo it again. So they wanted to build a rehab facility in Chevy Chase.
And I guess those people lost their minds. Some of them, right? Yes. A lot of the neighborhood
has gathered around to prevent this from happening because they don't want that in their neighborhood.
Now, there's this thing called Nimbys, Shannon, not in my backyard. Oh, okay. Did you know that was a phrase?
It tends to be applied to people who on paper are pretty liberal, but are like, I want this to happen, just not here.
Not in my backyard.
Okay.
So I'm for people having rehab.
Just keep them away from me.
Not in my neighborhood.
So NIMBY is kind of considered somewhat of a hypocritical thing.
Yes.
Yeah, I can see why you'd think that.
No, I mean, this is California is the king of Nimbys.
Okay.
California wants everybody to have everything, but just get it away from me, right?
What do you make of the Chevy Chase?
You would agree we need rehab facility.
Yes.
And this is, I think, for eating disorders primarily, but apparently it could do other stuff.
So that's what they're worried about.
I think it's what they're worried about it could be for drug, alcohol, rehab.
Okay.
But wouldn't you argue there's going to be people who live in Chevy Chase who are going to need drug and alcohol rehab?
Yeah. Probably. Probably. Yes. Right. Everybody does. Sure.
Wouldn't you agree that like people who need drug and alcohol rehab are part of the community?
Very much part of the community. Wouldn't you agree that the best chance to get those people back on their feet is to have them be part of a place that is not considered outsiders and a way and like get away from us? You're embarrassing.
Very much.
So where do you come out on it?
My name's Bennett and I ain't in it.
No, no, I asked you a question.
Shannon, I asked him a question.
He, I know, like a true politician.
He's on an opinion show.
He wants to be mayor one day.
I mean, these are going to be the kind of issues that would probably come up as mayor.
Do you think all of the city should be a place where we can have rehab facilities or do you have to put it somewhere to hide it from people?
This is radio.
My opinion.
I think they're also worried about the traffic and the parking.
It's 50 people.
Yeah.
It's a 50 bed facility.
Ain't going to have that much traffic.
That's what their argument they're trying to use that.
We don't want this.
That sounds like to me of all the arguments, that's the fakesest one.
It's 50 people.
Yeah.
They're trying to tie it all together.
How many cars can 50 people have?
50.
50.
50? And the workers?
The workers' cars.
What do you mean the worker?
Okay, 70.
Yeah.
So that's one argument.
So you've required them to build a parking lot that has.
70 spots.
Yeah.
And which is not conducive to the Chevy Chase neighborhood.
What does that mean?
You know, have a parking lot and it's this beautiful area of big trees.
No, H.O.A. approved.
You tell me there's nowhere in Chevy Chase that has a parking lot.
I don't believe that.
Maybe not a 70 car parking lot.
Okay.
So that's one.
So are you, this is all ultimately a question.
Are you on the neighbor's side or do you think the rehab facility?
I'm afraid to say.
I wish there was a camera here.
He is, I've never seen him this nervous.
Because there may be people who want to buy a house with you.
Yes.
You are putting in a tough situation with that.
You know, my side hustler is a realtor.
You don't want to comment.
I don't want to comment.
Okay.
A lot of people hope then their future mayor to have someone who takes positions.
Yeah.
But you're taking no.
If I had to vote today
I mean there were six people on the board
They voted last night
I will tell you the vote in a minute
But go ahead
I would vote to allow the center
Okay so you took a position
I didn't want to
Okay
They voted four to to move on with the thing
And got booed
Yeah
By the crowd
The crowd booed them vociferously
And I can't
I got to be careful
What I say
A lot of the people that live in that area
are older, wealthy.
Okay.
And I don't think they want that looking out their back window and see a center like that.
I understand.
Well, my perspective comes from going down to Eastern Kentucky when I was writing my book.
Yeah.
And going to these sit towns that put the rehab facility in the middle of the city.
And when I asked why, they said, in order for people to accept the amount of
of drug addiction we have here.
We can't hide these people in the corner.
We need them integrated into society.
Being part of society helps them get better so they don't feel like they're outcast
and worthless.
And we think it's very important to have because these same fights happened in small
towns all over eastern Kentucky.
And over time, the ones that were successful were the ones that were in the community.
So I like that.
The other thing I would say is if you go stick them somewhere,
else people live there too true right yeah people live there too why why can't it be in your
backyard why are you asking why are you wanting to go to the poor part of town and people put everybody
there right i think it's just that perception that the chevi chase neighborhood is one of the elite of
the elite well then drug addiction hits the elite of the elite shot like deal with it uh-huh
go look at eastern kentucky go look at inner cities go look at how they're
have to deal with drug addiction. Don't block it out of your mind by not putting it where you live.
Oh, that's not us. Yeah, it is. Your people get addicted to. One of my favorite parts. Don't you agree with
that? Yes. Why do we always think everything bad in town? We got to go put it where the poor people are.
Right. It can be everywhere. Absolutely. And it may even be more successful. If you have it in a
better area.
Will you're...
No, it not may.
It will be more successful.
Right.
My favorite, one of my favorite parts of your book is you talked to, I can't remember
in the town.
It's Louisa.
Louisiana.
They had that facility in downtown and like they worked.
They had an area where they like, was it a restaurant or something on the lower level
they work?
Yeah, the city embraced it.
Now, there have been problems with that facility since I wrote that book.
So I'm not taking up for everything there.
But the principle of it, I think makes sense.
So what about the argument like just the eyesore of it doesn't fit the neighborhood,
what Chevy Chase is meant to stand for?
What's it meant to stand for?
Nice houses.
Yeah.
Nice older houses that look awesome.
Well, I don't know about the eyesore.
I don't know what it looks like.
I mean, I can understand saying, okay, can you fit the design patterns or the whatever?
Okay, I have some sympathy to that.
And if I'm the builder, I go, okay, I try to fit.
into that as much as possible. Make it look at an old house. Yeah. I actually don't think that's an
unreasonable request. But the idea of get these people out of here is offensive to me. And liberals
are the most hypocritical about it. People on my side, we want to give people, but we are like,
as long as it's not me that has to suffer. Yeah. Right. And I don't think that's right. Don't make my
life uncomfortable. Yeah, exactly. I want everything. Just don't make me have to deal with it. And
I think that's hypocritical.
Good discussion.
You certainly got nervous about it.
Gary and Orlando.
Go ahead, Gary.
Oh, good morning, gentlemen.
The thing with the sheets hanging on the front porch over on campus.
Yes.
It kind of takes me back to when George was big,
and everybody was cutting their jeans off and making shorts out of them.
And at our group in Orlando, we ordered a bunch of coosies.
that were look like blue gene pockets.
They were made out of blue gene material.
And we'd all take those to the game watches
and yell every time he did something great.
But that's what that kind of remembers.
Reminds me of.
My question for you, Matt, is how comfortable are you
with Myron's take on some of his podcasts?
Some of them seem pretty controversial.
Well, I haven't.
Are you talking about on the show he does with me?
somewhere else. No, no.
I see a lot of
things that he does separate of your
show independently and
a lot of them seem to be
pretty controversial. I didn't know.
Are you sure that's Myron? He's a pretty
uncontroversial person.
Are you confusing him with like
Stephen A or Beaumani?
No. No.
Myron is about
five foot eight or nine and
probably weighs what I weigh.
And I mean, I know
he does not. Then you're,
confusing him. Myron does not weigh what you weigh.
Myron's a lot bigger than you are.
Well, I was trying to be kind.
And anyway, I just,
no, I mean, I'll look.
I don't, I've worked with, I don't, I can't think of a time
myron has said much controversial.
Certainly not about, I mean, all right.
If you show me something, Gary, send it to me.
I mean, I will say this.
My position's going to be, Myron can do what he wants.
Like he, I'm much more controversial than,
Myron and he accepts me, so I'm going to accept him, you know?
Yeah, well, he, he, uh, one of them I saw, he took on Stephen A, I mean, like, hit on.
And, and I mean, if they were going to win together, I honestly, I appreciate the call.
Myron, I don't know that he's ever even been on a show with Stephen A.
I really don't.
I think you're talking about somebody else.
Myron makes a cameo in the March into Madness documentary that just came out with Bill Self.
Yeah, yeah. Ask Bill's self about Darren Peterson and mine in a postgame news conference.
Yeah, I can't think of when he, I don't even know if he even knows Stephen A.
So maybe I think of his coworkers.
Well, I know I work a coworker. I don't know who Stephen A. Smith.

And on my podcast, The Cliverts Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to.
wave at her. What?
Quarterback on office blue of 42.
Hey, Rhett, Mom, I want you to wave at her. What?

Welcome back, TechE Sports Radio. And we'll see, Shannon.
two biggest recruits on campus last two days
talk about
chivy chase packed
most text machines we've gotten
or most text messages
that's why I love this show
that's the thing everybody can say what they're interested in
but you speak with your words yep
one person goes Matt
you just bought a home in an upscale neighborhood
aren't you being hypocritical
let me just say first of all
Shannon you know where I live
Oh yeah
In Louisville yeah
I've been amongst them
Yeah
All right
I've been amongst them for 20 years
I grew up in Middlesboro, Kentucky
I was around people in a community
that I have watched
Be devastated by drug and alcohol addiction
I've been around
alcohol addiction
In my extended family
my entire life
I lived in the highlands
which I was walking in Saturday and has it everywhere,
my place in Kentucky in Lexington is in downtown Lexington.
Yes.
So I've been around it and lived and loved it.
Not love the addiction, but love living in a city.
That's part when you choose to live in a city.
That's part of what you're choosing.
Right.
You get positives and then you get negatives.
I bought a house somewhere else because I wanted to be away from people.
but when you choose to live in Chevy Chase, you are now amongst people, right?
That's part of what you're choosing when you live among, if you want to live away from people,
there are places.
But I'll go ahead and say where I live.
If it changed, it changes.
I think it's reasonable for the people in that community to want them to keep the place safe.
I think that's completely reasonable.
To want them to keep it clean, completely reasonable.
if they want it to have a certain look,
I'm all right with that.
But like,
I've spent a lot of time around
and there's,
they are,
they are your neighbors
and I'm,
I'm okay with it.
And when I considered,
you know,
you know,
I looked at houses in Chevy Chase.
Yes,
you did.
Part of what I was understanding
is these are houses
where like you're in the city.
Yes.
You know.
Like we said during the break,
it's what you sign up for.
That's what you sign up for.
And honestly,
I wanted, you know, I wanted a house in Jevi-Jase.
This could have been me at the meeting and I would have been Shannon standing up and saying yes.
You would have been running the meeting.
Yeah, I would establish points of order.
So, so, yeah, I mean, I'm, that I would, I would certainly and have certainly lived what I'm
preaching here, as have you, to be honest, Brian.
So I think you're not, you do more than people realize.
It's this neighborhood we're talking about with people that don't know, that don't live in Lexington.
It is the elite where the people want to go.
You want to go, you want to go live in Chevy Chase.
And I did too.
But when you want to live in Chevy Chase, you're making a couple tradeoffs.
You're going to get less house than you can get somewhere else for your money because of where you are.
True.
Right.
You're going to be close to the city.
But because you're close to the city, you're.
going to be part of the city.
Yeah.
And I'm just saying, and I have many, many friends in Chevy Chase, but you don't,
you don't get the advantages being close to the city without having to deal with the rest
of it too.
Very true.
You know, that's, that's life.
That's it.
Scott, go ahead, Scott.
Hey, guys.
Great day to be a Wildcat fan.
I agree.
As far as that goes.
I completely agree with that.
Yeah, I feel like big things are coming.
Maybe not from Stokes, but there's a lot.
lot of fish out there, so I think we'll be all right. I do have one question. I fear I've missed
some information on Big Man, JQ. All I heard is Stock's falling. Have y'all heard anything else?
I have not. I have not. We stock is falling in the draft. I don't know where people have
thought about him. I'd heard people say, well, will he come back? My assumption is he's not
here. I've never considered that he wouldn't be. Have you? Somebody asked me,
that yesterday. They said he's not
entered the draft and he's not entered the transfer
portal. Yeah.
Yeah. So to answer your question,
I appreciate the call. I have not heard one
thing that would suggest that he's
anything. I think Jack Pilgrim wrote that he
would not be. Yeah.
But there's a lot of dudes, I think, that haven't officially
entered the draft. Yeah. So
I saw just Caleb Wilson, I think, just did
this morning. Oh, he did? Yeah.
Well, that's
who we are. We, we, uh, conspiracy
theorist. Larry, you got about a minute, real
quick.
Yes.
You're talking to me?
Yes.
Okay.
I'm going to talk about Stokes.
I'd love to get the kid, but at the same time, I don't see us waiting two weeks
and missing out on all the other players to get him.
You look at the final four, how many of them is the top five draft pick?
Look at the final four.
Well, none this year, but last year, last year, Cooper Flagg,
con canipal they were in it.
So it depends.
This year not, but some years they have been.
I just, I mean, I love to get it.
It'd be great to get it, but at the same time, you don't want to miss out on the other
players.
I agree.
I agree.
It's a tough call.
It's a completely tough call.
I appreciate the call.
It's a tough call.
And as is the tough call that I don't think I'm going to have time to do drive games.
We'll do it tomorrow soon.
Tomorrow we will be at KS Bar.
