Starting point is 00:01:43 Like being an internet famous referee. We're in the middle of a game. This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me. He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What? Time out. Quarterback on office blue 42. Hey, my mama want you to weigh better.
Starting point is 00:02:01 What? Hey, Miss Parker. Listen to the Clifford show on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Starting point is 00:03:19 matt jones welcome back hour number two kentucky sports radio 859 280 2287 the text machine is 772 77525254 uh somebody named jamie Shaw, who is with rivals, says Kentucky has Sebastian Ransick on campus from Colorado. You're big fan of his? I got to admit, I don't know who that is, or I couldn't have told you who he played for last year. That was another example, though, of the randomness of the text machine knowing something. Yesterday, I got a message, Sebastian Ransick is coming tomorrow, and that's all it said, and the number had never sent a message besides that. So I called our guys and asked him to look into it, and they couldn't get confirmation, so we let it go.
Starting point is 00:04:05 But random number knew. Knew he was coming in. Do you believe, by the way, now that everything's gone, do you believe the Blue Kia story? Let me give you the facts that we know are true. We know that he was on the flight. The person said they were. Yes. And we know that was the time of morning.
Starting point is 00:04:24 Yes. And we know that even though other people disputed, he was right. that the person left at that time. Do you believe he was in a blue Kia? I can believe it was a blue Kia. I don't believe it was a beat-up, dirty, bad-looking blue Kia. So you're going to take away the beat-up? I'm going to take away with maybe a brand-new, nice-looking blue Kia.
Starting point is 00:04:43 I heard sources were going everywhere on the Kia, that there was somebody at UK, like an equipment manager, that sometimes takes people because he's not officially employed or something and that that person might drive a blue key. and I'm sure it looks nice. He keeps it update. He's a young college man. Of course he's going to keep his car clean and tidy.
Starting point is 00:05:04 But that took on the life of its own. There's no doubt. Because people ran with the narrative. It was a beat-up old blue Kia. We didn't know that. I think people just started making that up. I just thought people would think it was like, you know, Shannon, we used to do the, what was it, 973 winky face?
Starting point is 00:05:19 Like we would just like, if people said things on text machines, we'd laugh and be like, oh, it could be true. Apparently you can't do that online. Now everybody's a reporter. Everybody's, so. And if you see something, people believe it. But like you said, your other information they sent you was accurate. Well, they sent the rants. Somebody sent the rancic thing, and that ended up being correct.
Starting point is 00:05:37 But, okay, a couple things. KSR Golf Scramble. We have a few open teams left. Go to WLAP.com and sign up. It is May 29th. Is that right? May 29th is the KSR Golf Scramble. It is going to be a lot of fun.
Starting point is 00:05:53 It's at the UK courses this year. always one of the most fun days we have, especially the Lexington one. So go to KS, go to WLAP.com, KSR Golf Scramble. If you Google search it, get your team in. We have a handful. We're over two courses, so we have more teams available this year. So if you've never played, come and enjoy it. And I believe that will be the first day that Drew is back as well from his,
Starting point is 00:06:19 from paternity leave. This Lexington Scramble, I'm so happy they've got it now split up on these two courses. It's a fun day. It is. And you get a lot of people with that. And by spreading, the weights won't be as long. Right. Spread out over two courses.
Starting point is 00:06:32 So it'll be, should be a lot of fun. Go to WLAP and go ahead and get into the KSR golf scrimp. All right. Before I go back, phone, let's talk about what happened, the Chevy Chase thing. All right. So for those of you that missed yesterday, they want to put a rehabilitation facility. It is zoned. The builders of it say it's going to be for eating disorders, but as I understand it,
Starting point is 00:06:52 the whatever deed, I don't, words. that are legal. How would I know that? They don't limit it to it. So right now it will be for eating disorders, but people are worried like they could end up putting other things in there, right? I think even in the city councilmen, they said eating or mental health disorder. Okay.
Starting point is 00:07:12 So it's not for alcohol and drug. No. So it would be eating or mental health. I believe that's how they applied. Well, to me, that's even more okay. But regardless, we yesterday talked about it. Ryan did not want to take a position because like a weasel politician that he is, he tried to get out of it, and then we made him, we stayed on him.
Starting point is 00:07:33 That's what the press has to do, Shannon, to these politicians. You've got to stay on them. They try to weasel out of it, and you got to stay on them. And then he finally came into a position. I said, I thought, look, you know, assuming they meet safety in all these requirements, neighborhoods, the sort of way we do this should spread out over the city. We shouldn't just put these in poor neighborhoods or away from the public. The Chevy Chase meeting, which we had talked about, became the Chevy Chase on Matt's text machine meeting.
Starting point is 00:08:09 The amount of messages I got, including from people that I think seemed to be kind people, but were very angry. A couple common themes. Number one, they wanted me to say that this is right across the street or within a couple hundred feet from a school. That was very important to people. Right. What school is it close to? Is it Cassidy Elementary School, Morton Middle School?
Starting point is 00:08:31 But it was close to a school. Do you know what school it is? That Catholic school there, the elementary school, Catholic school. What is it Elizabeth Ann Seaton, I think? So they were like, you didn't say that, and that's not fair not to say. So I am saying that. Does not change my opinion, really at all. If it's good enough for a neighborhood, then I think it's good enough for school.
Starting point is 00:08:53 Plus, when you consider how many schools there are, You know, like sometimes they'll do with gun things. They'll be like if it's so many feet from a school. And if you make that big enough, the whole city becomes that. Right. So that doesn't change my calculus much. Does it change yours? No, and I even did a little more research after the show last night to find out exactly where this facility is.
Starting point is 00:09:15 And it's in that little shopping area, like behind Wheeler's pharmacy. Like there's already businesses where this is going to be located. It's on Duke Road. So they already have a parking. lot. Apparently, parking lot is already there. So it's next to Wheeler's pharmacy. It's kind of behind it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Yeah. Kind of over there close to that, where that Kroger used to be over there in Romney Road. So it's off Romney Road? Are you sure about this? Positive. Okay. All right. So was your argument because they already have commercial facilities, they should be used to foot traffic?
Starting point is 00:09:46 Exactly. I think that argument about to push traffic and being an eyesore, I think, is out the window. Okay. Shannon and I had people angry, including friends of mine. Oh, yeah? Like friends of mine going, well, why don't you come live here if you don't? Yeah. It is easy for us to say we're not living it.
Starting point is 00:10:02 I do live it every day now. Okay. I mean, you know where I live. In Louisville. In Louisville. I mean, I live it every day right now. And their school, so I went and looked. There's a rehab facility that I didn't even know, a halfway house, but also has treatment like two blocks away from my house.
Starting point is 00:10:22 I didn't even know. Didn't even know it. And by the way, right across the street from a school. So I'm just saying, like, it's, I understand people's hesitation, but y'all aren't the only ones that have ever had to deal with this. So, you know, I, my position remains the same. And I do think, now they, they didn't like that, Ryan, you called Chevy Chase people hoity-toity.
Starting point is 00:10:48 Would you like to apologize at the use of the language hoity-toity? Again, you are, in theory, you don't want your mayor to go, hey, you people are hoity-toe. I think, you know, it's fair to say, they're upper-scale, higher income, somewhat. Those are demographic. Okay, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, wow, wow, okay. All right, upper-class higher income, that's just a description. That's an economic description. You could find that in the census.
Starting point is 00:11:21 Probably. Hoity-toe. Can't find that in the senses? It's a little different. That's sipping champagne with my pinky out. Yeah. You know, those people. So you're doubling down?
Starting point is 00:11:35 Sure, why not? Well, I can already see in 2034 on L.EX-18, the Chevy Chase precinct has been called against Ryan Lemon. Unanimous against Ryan Lemon. All right. Well, so I wish everyone the best. It did pass 4 to 2. It did. Apparently they're going to appeal it. I don't know who. Let me ask a question. Who's on these boards? Who gets to decide? The six people that decided, who are those people? I have no idea. Is it an urban and planning board or is it a city council board? I honestly, I don't know. Are they elected? Are they appointed?
Starting point is 00:12:11 Don't know. You're asking good questions. Yeah. I think I told you, my buddy ended up on the school board for a year. Yes. And he was like, that'll never happen again. He was elected, right? No. He was appointed? We don't have to go into details, but he ended up on there for a year.
Starting point is 00:12:29 Yeah. And he said, that's not the most fun. I can't imagine wanting to be on a zoning board. You know how? Just have people, your neighbors boo you. And you're going to fight every single meeting. It's a fight about something. Do you think they even get paid?
Starting point is 00:12:44 I hope they do. That would see. Shendon, I can't imagine something. He's doing it for free? I don't care where you live in America. School boards and zoning boards would be the worst thing to be on. I mean, in terms of all. I'd have to be paid good money to do that.
Starting point is 00:13:01 Because school boards, people yell out you about their kids, and then zoning boards, people yell at you about their property value. Those would be the two things that I would want to be around the least. Nobody's thanking you either. No one's like, hey, you're doing a great job on the school board. No, they're just like, get this book out of my library. You know, who's next? Mark.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Mark, go ahead, Mark. Hey, what's going on, Matt? What's up? Hey, I want to touch on three real quick things. I'm going to end up with UK basketball. Hey, yesterday, we got a chance to discuss some of the E.Z. Foot being drafted by the wings yesterday. Well, I just mentioned that the four, are you talking about the number one pick or the UK women?
Starting point is 00:13:41 Yeah, the number one pick. No, I did not talk. I don't know. That's Paige Becker's girlfriend. Yeah, she got to go play with her. With her, that's good for her. If that would happen in the NBA, can you imagine the uproar with that? Yeah, but you know what?
Starting point is 00:13:56 I'm good with it. The number one picking the WNBA draft, she got drafted by her girlfriend's team, Paige Becker's. They're going to end up being the two best players. Are you good with them playing together? 100%. Do that I think that'll be an issue? If they have a fight in life, then it comes on to the court?
Starting point is 00:14:11 I mean, that is true. She wasn't the best player in the draft, though, Matt. She wasn't the number one player. Okay. Well, I don't know about that. But what do you think that would be like to play with your significant other on the team? I'm not passing on the ball that day. Well, because if you break up, you're still going to be teammates with them.
Starting point is 00:14:30 Yeah. It is interesting to think how that could happen. But, you know, there are people that work with their spouses and their job, and then they have to go home. I saw it at Vermont. I don't know if you saw this. Vermont hired the women's basketball coach this week, and her husband is the men's basketball coach.
Starting point is 00:14:47 So Vermont now the men's and the women's coach is coached by a couple. Do you like that? I don't have a problem with it. There are two different entities. He's coaching his team. She's coaching her team. It'd be tough, though, because if you got rid of one of them, the other one may be like... I'm out too.
Starting point is 00:15:05 Yeah. Anyway, what was your second question? He's gone. Oh, I was going to let him have a second one. Wow. You know, the WBA one time, I know, like, Brittany Griner had to play against her wife. and they were like both centers. They were like battling in the pain against each other.
Starting point is 00:15:19 Then they had to go home after the game. I thought that was kind of... Yeah, we talked about that. Yeah. Who's up next? Glenn. Glenn, go ahead, Glenn. Hey, Matt.
Starting point is 00:15:29 I can already see the campaign ads run against Ryan right now. Oh, Ryan's done. Ryan has just ended his chance at any Chevy Chase votes. Yeah, so last year there was an article wrote by Jack Wright that explained half of the issues were NIL related JMI. But the other half was Mark Pope, and I feel like people are missing that part. People completely skipped over that, sir. I'm glad you brought that up.
Starting point is 00:15:58 When Jack and Jacob wrote that article about JMI and the issues, it was a two-part article. Part two was about Mark Pope relating to the players, and everyone focused on the JMI part, but no one seemed to remember that there was a part about Pope, as well. And that, you know, I never understood what that was why people did that. But you're right. That was a question that long ago. Right.
Starting point is 00:16:29 And I mean, honestly, here's an honest question. Who was Mark Pope's highest recruit at BYU? We could be asking him to do something that he hasn't done, you know, in the past and just might not be good. good at it or might not have had the opportunity, but, I mean, that's probably why you don't maybe hire that person. Well, it's a great question. I appreciate the call.
Starting point is 00:16:57 I mean, that was the issue when Mark got hired. The question was, can he get top recruits? And, Ryan, I think the thing it's clear, we still really haven't seen it happen yet. Haven't happened yet. I guess I'm thinking about when he's a BYU. He did get Jackson Robinson. But Jackson Robinson was not a high recruit. When he got recruited.
Starting point is 00:17:14 When he got recruited. He became a very good. player. Did he recruit Richie Saunders? It just got hurt, but I think he was... I don't know the answer to that. He recruited Colin. He did. But remember Colin went on his mission, but Colin was a highly ranked player when he came out of high school. So I think that's still a box that has to be checked.
Starting point is 00:17:33 Can he lure a top recruit or a top portal player to play for him in Kentucky? Spring is sprung, and that means you might be getting outside more of whether it's yard work or staying active by biking or running. Increased physical activity when the weather gets warmer can lead to aches. pains and injury. It's where court physical therapy comes. Well, see, I'm doing trivia here tomorrow
Starting point is 00:18:12 night, which means I'll eat wings then. Can't eat wings every day. Yeah, you can. Well, that's why you're in your situations you get. We'll be right back. KSR. Starting point is 00:21:15 Hey, Miss. Parker. Listen to the Clippers show on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Welcome back, Jackie Sports Radio. 859-2-80-2287. Text machine 772-7-7-4-1 person writes, Matt. I really hope Mark Pope lands a top recruit to shut people up for a brief moment. Today would be a good day for that to happen.
Starting point is 00:21:40 Today would be a good day for him to get somebody, get everybody to take a pause and a deep breath. I think today I think today they need to get somebody. Yeah. Yeah, Sunday and Monday kind of stopped the noise, but it's starting to get rumble again.
Starting point is 00:21:57 He needs to get somebody to kind of stop that noise again. And I just keep looking at the field of 68 top 100 chart, and I just keep seeing more and more names filled with other teams and sitting there going, who, you know, because y'all should remember
Starting point is 00:22:11 we need like seven players. Like we only have four right now. Five if you count Mason Williams. Or no, is it four? We have Malachi, Man, Trent, and Mason Williams. We have four guys. Reese Potter. Didn't he say he was coming back?
Starting point is 00:22:30 Yeah, but I mean, I'm not. Not counting him. We need, like, we need at least, we need six guys for sure. Because Brandon Hawthorne is still undecided? I haven't heard one thing about him. Yeah. I mean, he did a TikTok interview with some guy. He seemed to be interviewing with some guy just on a couch.
Starting point is 00:22:49 Did you see that? I don't know who that was. And he said, they asked him, have you made a decision about next year? And he goes, yeah, I just haven't really been thinking about it. What? That's not true. Like, not even been thinking, not even crossed your mind. I guarantee it's crossed his mind a lot throughout the season.
Starting point is 00:23:07 Yeah. All right, zoning board people, appointed by the mayor. four-year term, but it's volunteer. Oh, brutal. Are you in or you out? I'm out. Shannon, you're out. You lost me in one word, volunteer.
Starting point is 00:23:21 Volunteer out. Okay. Now, here's a good question. Should you have to live in the neighborhood that you're zoning for? Yeah. You say yes. But you said no. See, I thought you need to be more objective and not live in the neighborhood.
Starting point is 00:23:37 You need to be able to openly see both sides of the argument. But then somebody might say, well, you don't live here so it doesn't affect you. I think if you're living there, though, you're going to favor that decision. What do you mean favor it? I mean, like if you live there, you're going to vote the way it's going to help you because you're living that neighborhood. But it's affecting. But it's affecting the people in the neighborhood. It's not affecting anybody else outside.
Starting point is 00:24:00 You're saying that maybe there could be like a conflict of interest. Very much. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know. That's a good question. I think you probably ought to have to live there. I believe those places are volunteer, those positions are volunteer. Ladies, I'm going to have to apologize for this, but we do have to talk about it.
Starting point is 00:24:17 Normally, I don't use language like this, so I'm apologizing. She put her head down. There was a movie yesterday that was filmed in Lexington that had breasts running down the street. Yes. Did you see this? I don't know why. Shannon's giggling. I saw it.
Starting point is 00:24:34 It is funny. It is funny. I don't know what it is, and I don't know why they filmed it in Lexington. So they turned downtown Lexington into New York. Right. So they put up signs to make it look like New York. You know those New York subway signs? Subway signs were up.
Starting point is 00:24:50 And Ken Jong, that's the guy from Hangover. Right. And then what's the woman's name? It's one word. It's not Awakonda, but it's. I don't know who the woman was. What's the woman's name? Aco.
Starting point is 00:25:07 Well, whatever her name is. She's famous. They're starring in it. And I'm not sure what the movie, Shannon, is, but it can't be a serious movie. No, I can't wait to see it. Like, what context it's in. But there were breasts running down the street in Lexington, chasing them. You don't think that's a serious movie?
Starting point is 00:25:28 Two people dressed up his breasts running down the street in Lexington. It could be a dream. Aquafina. Aquafina. Sorry. Aquafina in Ken Jong. It's a movie. This was the description.
Starting point is 00:25:39 it's being filmed in downtown, two breasts running down the street. It's based on the real life story of a breast cancer survivor. So maybe that's like their dream or something they're having, probably. But the video, Shannon, is bizarre. And I just, if you were in Lexington and you just looked out the window, you think what in the world am I watching? Would you think you were like taking acid or something? These two human-sized breasts running down Main Street in Lexington.
Starting point is 00:26:09 chasing the guy from the hangover. I mean, Shannon, imagine if you saw that yesterday. I'd be running the opposite direction. You're at work, and you just look out, and this is, is that the guy from the hangover? Why is he running? Yeah, running away from him. Running away. I mean, running towards them.
Starting point is 00:26:28 Really bizarre, and good for Lexington. I guess they're, apparently they're shooting this movie throughout Lexington over the next few weeks. Yeah. So, just so you know, Shannon, if you see breast walking down. down the street at some point. There is a reason. People dressed up as breasts walking around Keeneland. We should not be alerted.
Starting point is 00:26:45 You're going to go to Keenland. Why not? You know, they're going to try to make it really lifelike. Interesting. So, anyway, I just thought that was. That was bizarre. Not something you see normal. Who's next?
Starting point is 00:26:56 Dave. Dave, go ahead, Dave. The woman's name is Aquafeda. I wonder if she gets like bottled water ralties. Oh, that's a good question. Yeah, I do like aquafita. Go ahead. Yeah, seriously, the thing was Stokes to me, listen, I've watched a lot of Stokes video,
Starting point is 00:27:15 watch the McDonald's All-Star game. I don't think it's the fact that he, I don't think he's a transcendent talent, even though I know he's a really good player, I think it's what he represents that's so important for Pope to get. I agree. I agree. I completely agree with it. Yeah, second thing is, so you're telling me that the reason we can't get players is because our coach is too much of a geek?
Starting point is 00:27:42 Well, I mean, that's your words, not mine, but I do think that... I mean, my word is... Well, see, I mean, the problem is there's nothing I can say that's not going to just get people saying that I'm ruining Kentucky basketball. But I do think, Mark, so the best way I can put it without it becoming, you know, a thing that floats online, is that I think he is, has a hard time relating to young basketball players. I mean, I think once they know him, they really, like him, but I think those initial reactions, those initial interactions are awkward.
Starting point is 00:28:16 You know, he's... Why do you think that he is, seriously? Because he's like a lot of... Yeah, he is a great guy, and he's really smart, but he's just kind of awkward, you know? I mean, I think that's just... I appreciate the call. It's the best way I can say it. Like, it's just...
Starting point is 00:28:39 Jack and Jacob in that article said he can get him to the closing table, just couldn't close the deal. It's kind of awkward. That's the best way I can put it. We'll take a break. Be right back. KSR. T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney.
Starting point is 00:28:52 Call T.J. He'll make them pay. Now, more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. Donnie Freeman just posted on his Instagram in a UK jersey and wrote BBN question mark on his Instagram story. Is that a good sign? I say it's a good sign
Starting point is 00:29:12 trying to, you know, get the fan base to show him a little love. That's good. It's better than not. That's very true. All right, I have some more information, Shannon, on this movie real quick. Okay.
Starting point is 00:29:21 Yeah. Apparently yesterday, also, the movie producers rented out a restaurant in downtown and filmed the scene where the woman runs in and she's in a restaurant and all the women in it are topless.
Starting point is 00:29:37 So there was a restaurant in Lexington that had 40 topless women sitting in it and eating. Now I'm interested in which restaurant in Lexington did that. Yes. Which one do you think? If you had to guess downtown restaurant, which one was the most likely to close during lunch and have that film? It has to be in some place kind of, there's not a lot of windows, kind of dark. Why wasn't a KS bar?
Starting point is 00:30:08 is my question. Well, they weren't downtown. We would have done it. They could have had that here. It's Wings Day. Yeah. What do you think? Like Frankendinos, the place's got kind of a back room.
Starting point is 00:30:21 It's nice in there. Yeah, and it's kind of a back room. They could probably hide back in there. People said they walked by and saw it. That's what people are telling me. Wow. So it wouldn't be Frankendinos because that's kind of, well, Frankendinos has those windows right there.
Starting point is 00:30:35 Atalax. Yes. Because that's he ran. right in front of Ital X. I bet that's it. You think Ital X did it? Maybe. We don't know. We don't know. A show sponsor.
Starting point is 00:30:45 Yeah. Well, there you go. You never know what's going to happen in downtown Lexington. One person writes Matt, I know your favorite weekend is coming this year in Louisville. Are you going to Thunder? Good gosh, no. Is that this weekend, he said? Yeah. Worst day in the city. Thunder.
Starting point is 00:31:05 Just stay away. I'm so anti-pethical. Look, it's a plane. Yeah, I mean, like, let's go sit on hard concrete and look at the planes. Shannon, you like it, though, don't you? Don't you go? I haven't been in a long time. I've been a few times.
Starting point is 00:31:19 I mean, it's great for the economy. People come from all over this. It got canceled last year, didn't it? Or was it two years? One year they didn't have it because the weather. The weather. The flood. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:29 I'm with you on the fireworks and the air show, but the drone show has become really cool. Like, they coordinate all these drones to go up in the air. I do think that's cool. drone show they spell things in the air is that what they do american flag with all drones and it's waving it is cool i think that's good yeah i'm i'm anti-th this is a big weekend though with with keenlin uh we'll have and then you got the the the thunder is the weather supposed to be good yeah uk spring football game is saturday so let's talk about that for a minute spring football game is saturday tickets are still available and it's tough because we're in the middle of portal season and i feel
Starting point is 00:32:05 like it's not given Will Stein the shine that he deserves. Yes, totally agree. Because he's done such a good job recruiting. We've gotten the number two quarterback. We got a top five defensive tackle. There's reports yesterday, one of the top five running backs in the country. Kentucky is the leader on. I mean, Will Stein has absolutely crushed it in recruiting. Unfortunately, it's just not getting the attention because everyone's focused on basketball. But, I mean, you couldn't have asked for a better start than what Will Stein. has had. And I hope our fan base does recognize that and shows up on Saturday. What time is the game?
Starting point is 00:32:40 11. Tickets are free, but you have to get a ticket because there's limited seating. They're working on the Kroger Field, like half the stadium is like under construction. Yeah, half the stadium you can't. So you do need a ticket. We'll be open here. We're going to try, like, after the game. We'll be open after the game, go out and come back by here. But do you think fans, I mean, you think we're going to have a good showing? It's not going to be available on any streaming. Like the only way you can see it is live. Like I said, I hope they show up.
Starting point is 00:33:11 This is first one. There is some momentum. There is a lot of excitement about the program. I just think we owe it to him, you know? Show up and show him some support. And the fan base usually is good at that. Are you going? I'm going.
Starting point is 00:33:23 I got my one bottom. I got my four tickets yesterday. Yeah, I'm going to go. I think I'm going to go Saturday morning. I want to see it. I want to see. I want to see how he does things. You know, I mean, he's.
Starting point is 00:33:35 It's the first taste of what, and they're really going to play. Like, they're going to tackle. He said they are playing an actual game. Yes. They are tackling. They are doing everything as if it's a game. None of that scripted, two-hand touch stuff. They're going to hit each other.
Starting point is 00:33:48 Are you good with that, by the way? I am good with that. Okay. You cross your fingers, hold nobody gets hurt. But if you're not hitting now, how can you hit when the SEC season starts in September? Yeah. I don't disagree with you. Who's next, Shannon?
Starting point is 00:34:00 Cold plunging astronaut. Cold plunging astronaut. How are you? Hey, gentlemen. Hey, so maybe Pope needs to be abreast with these recruits, you know. Maybe take them to that restaurant where they were filming. You think that might work? No.
Starting point is 00:34:20 Okay, bad joke. That's all right. I can see it coming. On another note, you mentioned, I don't know, maybe a month or so ago, that you might come down to Texas to volunteer for Tala Rico's campaign, wondering if that was still on your mind? It is possible, yeah, depending on, I got some things you may have read about. I got to see how that goes, but yes, if that doesn't happen, I may do that.
Starting point is 00:34:47 Cool, cool. All right, well, yeah, hanging on a thread here for these that are recruited. Appreciate it. Appreciate what I'll do. Yeah, Texas, you know, they say Texas in July is hot. Hot. Nothing better than walking the streets of Texas in July. outside and sneeze and you're in a full sweat.
Starting point is 00:35:06 Yes. We was just talking with a guy here. One person says, Matt, your Reds are 10 and 7. I'm in Reds gear. You are Reds gear. You're going to the game tonight or something? Yeah, they won last night. I'm going to go tonight.
Starting point is 00:35:16 We still stink. We're not good. But you're in like in second place in the division right now, aren't you? You got a Red's hat, sir. Do you think we're good? Do you think we're good? Are you got to ask, answer quick. This is a radio show.
Starting point is 00:35:30 Yeah. I think he was delayed for a reason. Okay. So I don't think we're good. I want us to be good, but I don't think we're good. Can't score any runs, man. Can't get any hits? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:41 We won last night with three hits. It's the fourth game this year they've won with four hits or less. They got the pitching. They just better start hoping they can score some runs somehow. Yeah, but you're going to have to score, especially when you get in summer and, you know, the ball flies farther. So I don't, yeah. I like them, though. Do you like the new hat?
Starting point is 00:36:03 I do like the new hat. They sent you some gear, right? They sent me that City Connect jersey with my name on. That's nice. So that's good. Who's next? Jacob. Jacob.
Starting point is 00:36:12 Go ahead, Jacob. Hey, guys. Good afternoon. Good afternoon. I keep seeing the narrative, and y'all talked about it pretty much all morning. But I just feel like it's got to be something with JMI. I don't understand. I mean, Pope's a good guy.
Starting point is 00:36:30 He is goofy, but, I mean, we're paying these kids millions. of dollars. I mean, what if it's the delivery? What if, you know... Yeah, I don't... Listen, if it's J.M.I. You know, I will say it. I think that J.M.I was an issue on a couple of recruitments that have passed.
Starting point is 00:36:50 Guys, we didn't get. But I do not think when it comes to Tyron Stokes and Rob Wright today, if those kids don't come here, I do not think it was because of JMI. I do think J.M.I. was an issue for a little bit.
Starting point is 00:37:06 I think they've changed a couple of their policies that were hindering, and then I think there's still things that need to be worked out. But I will say when it comes to Tyron Stokes and when it comes to Rob Wright, I think UK has given them as good offers, if not better, than every other school. I was also thinking maybe Rob Wright, because I heard they wanted Zoom and write, and maybe both of them just aren't down to, you know, have a... I don't think that's it.
Starting point is 00:37:35 I don't think that's it. Once he, so I kind of, I appreciate the call. I kind of understand the situation with Rob in some detail, but because I want to wait, I want him to commit to Kentucky, and I want to make sure I don't say anything that at all does anything, so I'll wait until it's over, but then we'll talk about it.
Starting point is 00:37:57 But I don't think any of, I think it is a very, Rob Wright's situation, it's either X or Y, and he's going to decide, and I've got to think it's got to be happening soon, because I don't, I think UK wants to lock up Zoom immediately after. I mean, I would think Rob Wright, I've got to think he tells UK this afternoon, probably what he'd.
Starting point is 00:38:19 I would think. I mean, who knows, but. You said they may have, you give him an ultimatum? I don't think it's an ultimatum. I don't think that's a fair word, but I think they feel like they got to know. Give us an answer, yay or nay, by the end of the day today. Well, that's an ultimatum. I don't think they've done that.
Starting point is 00:38:35 Okay. I think they, well, I don't want to be involved. My name's Bennett and I ain't in it. Let's let it happen, and then I'll talk about it. Tell me about Stockton Morgan. Stockton Morgan. Spring buying season is here, and I'm meeting with one of our potential client here. It may be here right now.
Starting point is 00:38:51 Meeting them after the show today. Talk about buying a house. I told him you've got to get pre-approved before you go out there because that just helps you in the negotiation process. It's easy to do. Stock to mortgage, take your information, get you pre-approved, get you ready to go to hit the, market the spring buying season. So give them a call. Stockton Mortgage, NMLS, A259, A259,
Starting point is 00:39:08 Stockton.com, NMLS, A259, Equal Housing Lender. It's Wild Eggs Wednesday. Mario is right now putting up the Wild Eggs word of the day. You have five minutes to answer it in the comment section, and you can win $50 from Wild Eggs. I see a woman there getting it ready. You're doing it on the KSR, the show, Twitter account. It's up, and it's a word that I had to teach, Ryan. He didn't even know what the word was. couldn't spell it. There's no doubt about it. And remember, yeah, you could look it up on AI, but try to do it yourself.
Starting point is 00:39:40 Have a little fun with it. Have a little pride. And see if you can figure it out yourself. I like that you didn't even know what it meant, right? I got to guess what it means, but I sure couldn't spell it. Okay. Did you do your homework that I asked you to do? Yes. Okay. We will deal with that as well when we return. This KSR. Last night, a blown call changed

Starting point is 00:42:52 Hey, Ms. Parker. Listen to the Cliverts show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Welcome back, Tegi Sports Radio, 859280, 2287. Yeah, I just got the message from my accountant as the text. This is your fault. Now I'm going to be in a bad mood to rest the day. Probably you didn't throw up when you get that number like, oh, my goodness. The NBA playoffs are here.

Starting point is 00:43:35 76. Max is that that game? 76ers in the magic. Who you got? While you're doing it, remember, the crown is yours. See sportsbook, draft kings.com slash promos limited time offer. Kings, I thought it was 76ers.
Starting point is 00:44:01 70s. Well, them two. 76ers are magic. I'm taking Maxie and the 76ers. I'm going to take 76ers as well. Even though M-B-B-'s out. He got appendixitis. Oh, I didn't know that. Yeah, I think he's out. All right, I asked you to do some homework real quick to educate people about the Alex's fight.
Starting point is 00:44:19 Alex Cooper versus Alex Earle. You told me you did the homework. What did you learn? Well, it took me about 10 minutes to figure out who was who. They look alike. They look a lot of like. They do kind of look alike. Alex-C-L-E-X is the older one.
Starting point is 00:44:33 She's 31. Alex Earl, A-L-I-X is the younger one, she's 25. Okay. And they used to be good friends. Matter of fact, it was almost like mentor-protege. Oh, that's nice. And they even had the same agent. And I think this is where it all goes back to this.
Starting point is 00:44:47 It was a Super Bowl commercial that just aired last year, and Alex Earl got the commercial, the young one, not the older one. For a commercial for who? Carl's Jr. Burgers. So for Hardys. For Hardys. This is all over a Hardee's commercial.
Starting point is 00:45:01 It's all over a damn cheeseburger. It cannot be. over a Hardee's commercial. These women are not fighting over the Hardee's commercial. You go back and you kind of research it. It all stems from... So who's mad at who? Alex Cooper, the old one, I think, is jealous that
Starting point is 00:45:15 Alex Earl, the young one, got the Carl's Junior commercial. But Alex Cooper's worth like $300 million. Why does she care about a Hardee's? Because it is petty jealousy. This whole fight boils down to petty jealousy. So you're saying she wanted to be in the Hardee's commercial?
Starting point is 00:45:32 Because it was a Super Bowl commercial. That's a big deal. And Alex Earl got it. Yes. Well, why she mad at Alex Earl? Because she got the commercial. But that... Because if you look at the tweets are going back and forth,
Starting point is 00:45:42 Alex Cooper, the old one, tweeted out, where's the beef? Uh-huh. That's Wendy's. But it doesn't matter. It's a burger. I think it's petty jealousy over the young one got the Super Bowl commercial and the old one did. So you think these two friends broke up over Hardee's. That started it.
Starting point is 00:46:00 That cannot be what it is. I'm telling you. Shannon, people don't... Sources are good. You don't lose a friendship over Hardee's. No, no, not over Hardee's. It's not just Hardee's. It's the money, I'm sure, though. But she's, Alex Cooper's worth like a, like, she's a ton of money.
Starting point is 00:46:15 She sold her podcast to Spotify for like a bazillion dollars. Yeah, so like I said, I think it's the notoriety, too. That's it. It's petty jealousy over the Super Bowl commercial. It's where it started. And then it just kind of went back and forth. That's my take on it. All right.
Starting point is 00:46:29 Well, I mean, you are the reporter, so I guess I got to listen to you. Who's up next? Nathan. Nathan, go ahead, Nathan. Hey, we're actually heading out to Vegas tomorrow, but we're not going to WrestleMania. We're going to do three nights of fish at the sphere. But one of the many events of WrestleMania...
Starting point is 00:46:47 Oh, wait a minute. Hang on just a second. You're going to see fish at the sphere? That feels like the trippiest thing I can imagine. How old are you, sir, if you don't mind me to ask you? How old are you? 39. All right, well, you can probably still handle it.
Starting point is 00:47:02 That seems like I can't imagine that music and the sphere. Well, good luck. I hope you enjoy it. It's going to be a lot of sensory input there. So anyways, going back, so there's a lot of events for WrestleMania, and ICP World Wrestling Championship is there, and we bought tickets to that. It's at midnight. Now, that's the insane clown posy. Yes, I know what it is.
Starting point is 00:47:26 Haley's wrestling in that. From wrestlers. She. Holly Hood, Haley J. will be in that. I was going to see what you know about it because we're really looking forward. I'm not even a wrestling fan, but at midnight, that's going to be amongst them. Yeah, you will be amongst them.
Starting point is 00:47:44 You will be amongst them at that one. Like wrestling in general is amongst them. I'm going to be amongst them. I appreciate the call. I did see Haley's part of that. I thought she was just in the slap sport. Haley's and everything. Everything, okay.
Starting point is 00:47:57 Haley's part of everything. Yeah, would you want to go see fish at the sphere? Do you want to go to the sphere in general? I do want to go to the sphere, but I would not want to go for a fish concert. Who would you want to go see? The Backstreet Boys play there a lot. I would go. I would go to the Backstreet Boys are back.
Starting point is 00:48:15 I was just out there last week. They had the Wizard of Oz. Oh, dude, that would trip you. $150, though, for the Wizard of Oz. So they play the Wizard of Oz in the sphere, so it looks like the monkeys go at you or whatever? Yeah, like, you know, when the tree throws the apples, I think they drop. apples down from the ceiling oh really wow it's a whole thing yeah that's a good question who would you want that I don't think I could handle fish no too much three nights
Starting point is 00:48:38 yeah I don't know I don't know who I would want to see I bet Tyler there but like you want something though that's interactive you want to yes I think like maybe Star Wars or something oh that would be really cool yeah that little light laser light show inside there yeah who's up next Matt you would want to see the breast movie they're filming here in Lexington there, wouldn't you? Yeah. Matt, go ahead, Matt. Hey, oh, boys, I'm chilling out in my garden, barefooted, reconnecting with the nature and beautiful Hyman, Kentucky, eating black market kick cats. And if y'all need any, wink, wink, let me know. What do you mean black market kick cats? Oh, because you stole them. Okay, gotcha. I wasn't sure what
Starting point is 00:49:23 you were saying. Go ahead. I didn't do it. But anyways, I just, um, I just, just got one question. Matt, you worked for ESPN. Did ESPN find Seth Greenberg at what you all call it? The toilet store. God bless and have a good day. Appreciate the call. You know how hard it is for me to try to, because, you know, in this job, I can really
Starting point is 00:49:49 say anything, whatever. But with ESPN, they kind of, they don't like you to talk trash about fellow employees. And it's hard with Seth Greenberg. because you know my feelings, but I don't want to get called in the principal's office. He blocked me on Twitter. No way. He did, yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:08 Did he really? That had to be recent because he blocked me on Twitter. Petty. He was there. When I did the bracket show, he was in the building, and I kept thinking I was going to run into him. But in the cafeteria, I thought I was going to run, you know, all that we did, but it didn't end up running into it.
Starting point is 00:50:25 It's tough because you do have to wear your ESPN hat as much as you wear your KSR. hat now these days so you can't say anything bad about him or stepan a or any of these guys oh stephen a's another one i have to bite my tongue yeah he says something crazy like i want to retweet it and i have to go we always go we always going to be our president those are the things i want to tweet about when he acts like he's going to run for president but i have to i have to follow rules hey thank you all very much for coming out here today good crowd appreciate it good seeing you all wings day for the rest of the day and tonight dollar wings tomorrow is trivia got your team i'm not just a team. I'm bringing the winning team tomorrow and I.
Starting point is 00:51:00 I got an all-star team coming here. Do you? Yeah. Anybody I know? You know them all probably. All right. Well, looking forward to it. Thank you all very much for listening. We will see you tomorrow. Hopefully we have a commitment by then. This is KSR. Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smigel and friends.
