Lisa, tell them about our new show.
We have a new podcast.
It's called Don't Lie to Me.
I'm Lexi Youanu.
We're two best friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart.
And I'm Lisa Di Giulio, the old one, which means we have wildly different references, occasionally different opinions.
And at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all.
Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes, good taste is my business.
Listen on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
I'm Lacey Mosley, author, actor, stand-up comedian, creator, and host of Scam Goddess Podcasts.

Ooh, I scammed them.
What?
I can talk to you for an hour.

You never seen.
Italy's so quiet as when the Pope gets up to wink on Halloween.

Self-care September is your reminder to slow down, check in with yourself, get off your phone, and maybe ask, why am I like this?
I'm Jemisbeg, host of the Psychology of Your 20s podcast, and this month we're helping you make sense of the person that you are becoming.
from setting boundaries and navigating friendships to understanding anxiety, confidence, relationships, and attachment.
Sometimes our biggest decisions, without us even realizing it, aren't driven by what we truly want,
but by what will prevent us from feeling lonely or being alone.

I'm Dr. Joy, and this is Therapy for Black Girls.
We've spent our surviving middle school run getting into what's happening inside your kid's brain, the group chat, and their friendships, and what you can do about it.
Your child is not doing this on purpose.
That's the kind of perspective we've been pulling from the psychologists and psychiatrists who studied this for a living.

Hey, what's up? I'm Tony Gonzalez.

Hey, it's Ryan Lemon from Kentucky Sports Radio.
I'm not just a radio guy.
I'm also a realtor.
I talk to homeowners all the time.
And what's the one thing many homeowners have but rarely think about?
It's equity.
It's something that can quietly grow over time while you're busy living your life.
And for many homeowners, it can be an opportunity they haven't explored.
Whether you're planning home improvements or preparing for whatever it comes next,
your home's equity may be able to help you.
It's important to understand what's available and to find out the right option that fits your goals.
For me, I wanted to put a pool in my backyard and finish my basement.
I didn't have the money available, so I went to Stock to Mortgage.
They found the equity that already built up in my house was able to use to install my pool
and finish the basement. I would have been able to do it without them.
As Stockton Mortgage, they'll walk you through the possibilities.
Answer your questions and help you understand your next step.
If it's been a while since you've looked into your homes by you,
now might be a great time to start the conversation.

Now here's Matt Jones.
Welcome back, hour two, Kentucky Sports Radio.
859-280-20287.
It's an Ask Anything Tuesday that's also turned into giving the best still-frame photos in UK history.
You can send me those 772-745-25-4.
You guys are in a text machine.
It's giving a lot of really good ones.
The football player at the getting a hot dog.
Mincy.
Did you see he was at the Tennessee, Texas game last week?
Oh, he was.
He was at their version of the catwalk, high-fiving the players,
wearing orange overalls.
And he had a sign about Arch Manning.
Really?
Well, I think that's...
That guy.
Trying to stay relevant.
I think that one.
I think that's a good one, though, to be honest with you.
Don't you think?
Yeah.
Greg Marshall's wife yelling.
That's a good one.
That's a really good one where she's screaming and all the media members are sitting
right in front.
That's a great one.
Pat 40's right, bow, bow.
That's a photo to you all.
That was two hours of my life.
life to me. That was a reality.
Wasn't that the don't tweet that?
Yeah. Kev Miller, who sent me the football players holding hands, also sent the iconic
Matt Roeart getting carried off the field. That's a great one. That's a great one.
Matt Roe, that's a really good. Rock Oliver flexing after the Willie Dunk in Florida.
I liked Rock Oliver, Rock's reaction to Willie's Dunk more than I liked Willie's Dunk.
I agree. Tashon shrug after the threes against North Carolina. I don't know if I've seen that as a
picture, but it would be a really good picture.
if it exists. I've only seen it as a video.
Same with the, is there a photo of sparks over Billy Packer or anything from that?
There's a photo. There's a photo, I think, of him pointing with Robbie Moss hugging him from behind.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, that's the one from that. I think that is a photo.
Like he's holding back. I like this. Cade on State. I remember that photo.
That's pretty popular. That's pretty iconic. I don't think I know that one. What?
You don't know about Cade on State?
Wow, you people are so young.
Mario, do you know about Ceydon State?
Kids today.
Shannon, do you know?
I remember it, yes.
Yeah.
That's back in the early days of KSR.
How do I say this in a nice way?
People were celebrating on stage.
Yeah, so that's a combination.
There was a woman who famously for that period of time in 2012.
I think that was 2012 after we won in the elite eight and then the final four
and then the national championship,
they like burned the couches after every one of them.
And she like famously showed everyone.
She already grown.
How much she was.
On state street.
It was on state street.
I don't think her name was Kate.
In broad daylight too.
Yeah, I think they just just named her that.
Gotcha.
Yeah.
Fun fact, Nick Rouse is in the background of that photo.
Nick Roush is.
A young Nick Roush.
Really?
He's not a part of the activity.
He's just like an innocent bystander way back in the distance.
Well, there's, there's a,
there's a that like and she would do it every game like everyone would build up and then she would
show up and i i've never known who that person was that person right now probably has two kids
yep you know family yeah okay that would be interesting to know like whatever happened to that person
you know um there's a very iconic picture of the 96 or 98 celebration on euclid and
over there on the corner with everybody there and then there's one of them
where the car's on fire.
But then there's a famous one where it's above
and you just see the masses everywhere
out there on, it's Euclin and what?
Woodland, I believe.
It's the corner. Yeah, on the corner. That's a great.
I'm in that picture. It's the back of my head.
You can't tell, but I'm there.
There's like people hanging off street signs. It's just mayhem.
Rick Petino flipping off the crowd.
It's a good one.
Cow's got to have some more.
Nothing's coming to a mile.
I can't think of a lot of cow ones.
You would think they're rubbing his hair.
We said that one.
The one where he's making that really funny face to
is it is it is it julius randle yeah that's a really good one
oh these are great memories uh in the wisconsin game when the shot clock's on zero and the
ball is still in uh nigel hayes's hands that one's iconic okay
ryan lemon behind joe buddn of course absolutely yeah i mean that's not uk but that's like us
that's in my opinion that's the best ksr picture of all time is ryan lemon because it just
summarizes him. There's no picture that summarizes him more. He's kind of creepily behind him.
No one else would have made that face in that moment. He's making like a, like he's trying to be a
creepy. He did. And he wasn't trying to be funny. That was just, remember, I was, I took that picture. I was just like,
look at him. He's so close to him. Why is he making that face? If he had a knife in his hand,
Yeah. Oh, that was, that's a great one.
Okay, a couple things here, and we'll get back to phones for asking anything.
Well, I got one question here. One person says, Matt, I keep hearing Mark Pope say that Kentucky's jersey is a sacred cloth.
Do you like that phrase? I'll defer to Drew.
Dang it. I'm not trying to be negative here, but I will admit, it makes my skin crawl just a little bit.
Maybe a lot of bit. It was on T-shirt yesterday.
day. And it's on a mural. I don't like it. I mean, I like the premise behind it. Yes. I love the Kentucky
uniform. I like the premise behind it. But there's something about, I don't know. I think to
your point about coming on too hard. I think we're coming on a little too hard with the cloth.
It's like it's just, how do I say this? I want to say this with love. Okay, because I feel it,
Mario, I feel it with love. Do you see the love? This is a face of love right here. Shannon,
love. Yes, I see it. It's, there's, there's just. There's,
just things we do that if we're honest and we all are honest are just cringy.
You know?
Yeah.
I mean, they're just like, they're just cringy.
That's high on the list for me.
I'll be open about that.
Yeah.
Am I, do you disagree?
I don't think, I don't disagree, but you got to remember he was hired in a large part due to
nostalgia and making it about the name on the front instead of the back.
between cool nostalgia and cringy nostalgia.
Bringing back the power K and like sane, like Will Stein going
mentioning all these names, that's cool nostalgia.
Wearing the denim.
Cool nostalgia.
Sacred cloth.
Kind of cringing nostalgia.
You know what I mean?
It's over the top.
Everything's over the top.
Okay, so, like, everybody knows I'm not a fan of, like, Trump and J.D. Vance.
But the difference between Trump and J.D. Vance is Trump tells a joke, and whether I like it or not, it feels like that's who he is.
And I think that's why people laugh.
Jady Vance is, like, cringy.
You know what I mean?
Like, Kamala Harris is kind of cringy.
Right?
I'm with you.
Like, Obama.
not cringy
Kamala
cringy
Sacred cloth
would be something Kamala
would say
I don't even like you saying it right now
Power K
would be something Obama would wear
Does that make sense
Shannon D are you with me on this?
I am yeah yeah the sacred cloth thing is a little too much
I can see how that would push somebody away
especially somebody that's not from Kentucky
you know a guy comes in and goes
this is sacred cloth this is what you're going to wear
That's a me thing.
So I think the textor is sort of saying that.
I kind of agree with you.
And it's like Lewis Powell said about what the definition of pornography is.
He famously said in the Supreme Court, I don't know, but you know it when you see it.
That's kind of what this is.
You know it when you see.
Well, buckle up because I don't think it's going away.
This is just who I don't think.
No, I think that's what.
This is it.
That is him, and it is kind of what it is.
We love the jersey.
It means a lot.
I love that he says, like, builds it up.
But it almost, calling it a sacred cloth almost makes me feel like we have some religious relic that everyone should come.
I don't know.
It's too far in that direction.
And those players care about that anyway.
Show me the money.
I'd be interested to see if other people agree or disagree with that.
By the way, I beat Billy in fantasy, most importantly.
Adam, go ahead.
We heard.
Yeah.
I'll keep saying it if you are.
And I got Paul.
What's up, guys?
It wasn't my reason for Colin, but you talk about more kind of Caliperi pictures.
The one where he's kind of looking at DeAndre Liggins after hitting that shot.
Yeah, we talked about that one.
That's right before he kisses him or licks him or whatever it is he did.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
And since it's South Carolina week, Stephen Johnson sticking his tongue out.
Yeah, we mentioned that one, too.
That's a really good one.
I forgot that that became those, those.
Aren't they still in your trunk?
I think I do still have some of them.
Because we had a bunch and they couldn't use them.
Yeah.
Yeah, my bad.
I must have a lot of the first show.
Hey, guys, I just have to commend you on your all sources.
I mean, between like heavy.com sleepers, the E-town sporting goods store.
Listen, we get all the news.
You all the news.
That's right.
We have all the news.
Don't, don't, you know, I appreciate the call.
They may sound like, I mean, heavy was false.
but E-Town was not false
No, they're not false.
E-Town was correct.
The E-Town sporting goods store,
I don't know if they had the day right,
we'll find out, but they certainly had the scoop.
It could be their day.
I mean, the truck maybe gets to them on Friday.
It got everywhere else yesterday.
So to them, it's accurate.
One person says, if Ryan Lemon is ever accused of a crime,
you can guarantee the photo they use in the paper
is him behind Joe Biden.
Yeah.
That really is.
Ryan probably has a lot of photos.
You could do a whole Ryan bit.
Oh, I got a good one.
The Slam magazine photo of Cousins, Bledso, Wall, and Patterson and Cal.
That's a really good one.
Back in Cal's office, that was the big picture you had when you walked in was that one.
The magazine covers open a door.
You got wall in front of what looks kind of like a church over there where he's, I think they used a trampoline where he's jumping.
The LSU game is a...
a blue out.
Yep. And just for the record, it was Potter Stewart,
not Lewis Powell, that said that for those of you
keeping score at home of your Supreme Court
Justice. Supreme Court, yes.
If you have the trading cards.
When Will Stein made the video in the summer
explaining each theme game, he changes
clothes for each one, the LSU game, he was wearing
Power case when he talks about it.
Okay. Cow walking the dog.
Yep. Actually, I think
Billy. Did you say that one?
No, no, Billy on the pre-show this morning.
I wanted this to come up today.
dog tore her ACL in her back right leg, which is very sad.
Very sad.
Was it on the UK practice floor?
No, he's so.
No, you know.
Jumped off a couch.
I'm sorry.
And so we've been missing our afternoon walk.
So yesterday I busted out the stroller and put her in the stroller and we walked around the neighborhood.
So you did what cow did?
I did.
Yeah.
But I mean, I feel like that's okay.
He's hurt, right?
Yeah.
No, we've been missing the afternoon walk.
She hadn't been getting a ton of fresh air.
Does you have to get ACL surgery?
How much does that?
It's six grand.
Six grand.
And I can't afford it.
So she is in for a lifetime of anti-inflammatory medicine.
Have you thought of like, I mean, there might be like a dog surgeon listening.
Maybe you could do an ad.
Like, I don't like farming for ads.
But I feel like your dog should not have to walk around with a torn ACL its whole life.
Well, I did solicit a stroller.
And so like maybe.
if there's a dog, I don't even know, who are dog surgeons?
I guess there's animal hospitals all over the place.
If there's a dog surgeon, like you could, you could, you'd be a good, you'd be a good dog surgeon
spokesman.
Yeah, please reach out. I'd be happy to help with all that. She's 10 years old and, you know,
getting a little older. That'd be sweet.
Well, we've had the big partnership with Richmond Road, vet clinic forever.
Well, I mean, can't put it on. I'm not saying there.
Yeah. That's like a little bit of pressure to call him out.
I'm saying he could reach out and at least explore that play. I don't know where Billy went. I'm not saying I'm going to do it for free, but like that's a place we know. Yeah. I hope your dog gets an ACL surgery. Well, thank you. But I did put her in the stroller and walk around.
But you're not going to have to do that. You're going to have to do that her whole life? No, she's going to get better. Like it'll they can naturally start to walk on it more. It's not a completely debilitating injury. But yeah, she's limping around right now. I can't believe you're making me feel sorry for a dog, but I feel sorry. Have you considered court physical therapy?
Yeah, court.com. Yeah. Was this Annabill?
Does this go on the list?

eating of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Audra McDonald's at the Wonderland Bookstore on 14th.
That's crazy. I went to the Wonderland Bookstore yesterday and I heard Nora Jones do a reading of Zero Dark 30.
No way.

By age 11 or so, at least 70% have a phone.
Middle school is a different world than the one we grew up in.
I'm Dr. Joy, and this is therapy for black girls.
We spend real time on it in our surviving middle school run, bringing in a child psychologist and a psychiatrist who's raising two black girls.
of his own to talk about what's really going on with our kids right now.
So it's literally physiological and neurological and psychological and psychological chaos happening all
this same time.
We got into group chats and gaming, friendships and bullying, and how to tell the difference
between healthy monitoring and the kind of surveillance that erodes trust.
There's belonging.
You could think of belonging as I can be myself and I can still be accepted.
And then there's fitting in.
Spitting in says I have to change who I am in order to avoid rejecting.
Then we turn the conversation toward the fathers, sitting down with therapists
Keir Gaines on Black fatherhood and what it means to raise a daughter through this stage.
You don't have on shorts, so you can't do flips, you have on the dressy, up across your legs.
That's the range of this run, from screen time to identity to the fathers doing the work at home.
We have to get off her device, but the reality is there's a lot of life out there
that we don't want you as your adults in their lives to miss out on.
This has been our surviving middle school run, brought to you by the people who spend their
careers thinking about exactly this. I'm Dr. Joy. Listen to Therapy for Black Girls on the Iheart
Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Self-care September is here, which means it's
time to rethink what self-care actually means. Yes, self-care can be a long walk. It can be in everything
shower. It can be putting your phone on Do Not Disturb. But sometimes it's actually about sitting
with the uncomfortable stuff and understanding your patterns, your boundaries, finally figuring out
while you keep doing things that you swore you would never do again. I'm Gemma Spag, the host of
the Psychology of Your 20s podcast, and each week we unpack the psychology behind the experiences
that shape your 20s, from relationships and friendships to money, anxiety, confidence, attachment,
just becoming more comfortable with who you are. Unlike the quarter life crisis, which is
depicted as the collapse, the quarter life reinvention is the expansion and growth of something.
When we develop the ability to be happy by ourselves, nobody else can take
that from you. So this self-care September, don't just take care of yourself. Get to know yourself as well.
Listen to the psychology of your 20s on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your
podcasts. I'm Britt Coleman. And I'm Trevor Sikkimah. Have you ever watched a game and wondered what
really made the difference beyond the final score? That's exactly why we created NFL Pro.
Got a man wide open. Fuchs! Every week, we use exclusive next-gen stats insights and NFL content
to break down the biggest stories,
matchups, and moments from around the league.
We go beyond the box score
to uncover the numbers, the tendencies,
and details that help explain
what actually happened on the field.
Fires it out in the flat to Barclay,
who beats one man,
spins past another, leaps over at third.
And don't worry, this isn't just a show
for stats experts.
We use advanced analytics to help tell the story
behind the game,
turning the numbers into insights
that every fan can under
understand and enjoy.
So whether you're a casual fan learning more about football or a hardcore fan who can't get
enough analysis, our goal is to help you see the game in a whole new way.
If you've ever wanted to know why a play worked, how a matchup was won, or what most
fans missed on Sunday, NFL Pro delivers insights you simply can't get anywhere else.

I ever sing?
I do like this song.
Of course, this song, I'm sure I can say,
all right, what's the fact of this song,
Shannon, you know, right?
What's the fact?
The George Jones wrote this song?
No, that's not the fact.
What's the fact?
KSR fact of this show.
I know Larry loves this song.
That's a show.
This is the song that for whatever reason
Larry really likes.
It's a pretty good song.
I don't like Blake Shelton.
George Jones did this song first, though, right?
He did.
But if you knew Larry,
you would know it's really strange
that he likes this song.
This is kind of that truck country.
Yeah.
I can see Larry rocking out to this.
Playing bass to it.
Yeah, I can't.
Well, I mean, maybe now that we since have heard his bass play on those old albums.
Billy Gillespie's Mugshot.
Oh, man.
Yeah.
That's kind of an iconic.
I'm looking right out of my brain.
I haven't seen it in 10 years.
The question is always, can you picture this in your brain when I say it?
Looking right at it.
And you can picture that, right?
the exact smirk or how we described that.
That's a good question.
Is Andy Bashir cringing?
Yeah.
Sometimes.
Not all the time, but yes, sometimes he is.
Holesome is the word is how I feel with him.
But wholesome can lead into cringy.
Like that's a, no, Andy Bashar and Mark Poth, both great guys on, but like can lean into,
yes, Andy Bashar can be cringy.
definitely
like Matt Bevin can be a crook but not cringy
everybody's got a different thing
like Pat Kelsey
is dorky
right but I think that's different
don't you
yeah I'm trying to think well I mean
leave aside the Louisville rivalry any things that he does
where you're just kind of like like said
no that's the sacred cloth
literally makes my skin crawl for being honest
yeah and by the way none of this like
we're being family here.
Like we're taught, like, like we're taught.
Billy,
when he tries to make a joke,
can be cringy.
I help the way. My body reacts to stuff I hear.
Like, it's just, it is what it is.
You know, everything, every, it's, we're being
like, it's just. We love the Kentucky
uniform. Yes.
One person writes, Matt, is it okay that I
miss?
Do you, do you,
will you ever leave, it's not called
Will you ever leave Harlan alive?
You'll never leave Harlan alive.
the intro. I love that song, but I don't miss it. I still don't think we have the intro
100% correct, but I don't think you'll never leave horror on the live as the song to play during
the intro. I liked it when they did it, but also don't miss it. I've noticed with Will's walkout,
he's changing the song every time. Oh, is he? Now, the hype video is one song. It's Kim Cuddy. Maybe they're
trying to find the right one. Or maybe just rotate it every time. Maybe Will's got a playlist of 50
songs he likes. So I like that it's been different. I think we went with a little Wayne Fireman.
man this past Saturday.
Okay.
8-5-9-2-8, they passed the College Sports Act in the Senate,
which was the first hurdle, but there's still another hurdle, which is the House.
And Ted Cruz came out and said they're going to bring the House back and vote on it in a few weeks.
The House said, we are not coming back.
So I don't know.
The problem is they don't want to bring the House back because they're working.
that Pete Heggis will get impeached if they do,
which is probably a bigger deal
than whether or not they pass the College Sports Act.
So I think what's going to happen is
it's not going to get passed right now.
Then after the election,
so the election will be in November.
And then you're going to have this scenario where
I think if the Democrats win by a lot,
the Republicans may try to pass it
before the Democrats get in charge.
Because if the Democrats get in charge,
they may change the bill and then, you know.
So it's kind of still like up in the air.
But it did pass the first step and it passed pretty overwhelmingly like 77 to 20 or something like that.
This just sounds like normal politics to me.
It is.
It is.
You know, to be honest with you, like I get, I don't know that this is the most important thing in the world going on right now.
Like I don't know that you bring the house back just to pass the College Sports Act.
It feels like Billy, there are other things that would be bigger.
Sure.
but I had to listen to Ted Cruz on Game Day,
which, by the way, Kirk Herb Street,
oh, who's Ted Cruz?
I don't know anything about Ted Cruz.
I mean, that was ridiculous.
I mean, that was ridiculous.
I don't know what he was like, come on.
I don't know what he thinks.
I just thought he was coming here to talk.
That's all I can think about with this right now.
I agree.
Let's go to Shano.
What's up, Shano?
Hey, guys.
I'm a many-time caller.
I'm not a first-time caller, so I go way back with you guys.
And so I've been listening in for a while.
And I've got a couple things about some iconic pictures.
One of them being my brother, Dave Ginn, who blocked the kick against Alabama.
Man, he looks like he got up about 10 feet in the air and blocked that kick.
Wait a minute.
That's your brother?
No, I mean, he's my football brother.
I mean, we play together at the UK.
Okay, got you.
Yeah, no, no, no.
Yo, you're Shane.
Okay, sorry, yes.
And then what's the second one?
Yeah.
And then hucking and a bucking.
Have you guys ever heard of the hucking and a bucking pictures of old?
My dad has a couple of those that are pretty iconic,
and they quit doing those back in the day.
But, man, they were awesome when they would guys come firing out from their stance
or they would, like, leap for a catch.
I don't know.
Okay, I'm worried to say those words because it sounds like it could be offensive.
But what is, what do those, what do you mean?
Well, there was an old photographer back in the day that went around and took team pictures
and then individual pictures of the players.
And he did it from various schools, UK being one of them.
And that's what they called it.
And I won't say it again.
Okay, so it was like getting out of their stance or whatever.
I know what he's talking about.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And there's an iconic picture of my dad, the UK picture of him.
Oh, I've seen that.
That picture.
Okay.
Just where they kind of lunge at the camera.
Okay.
I have seen that.
It's not a game.
It's a photo shoot.
Yes.
Okay.
I got you.
No, I've seen that.
Yes.
I understand.
I wish I would bring that back, man.
I mean, that's kind of cool.
They made me a new name.
Yeah, no doubt.
But there's also RIP to an old one.
I opened this call with being a long time caller and a long time listener.
But there was a, there was a Louisville fan named handsome Jimmy Beriber.
Yes.
He was great call in and dude.
I loved it.
Great dude.
I appreciate the call.
Great guy.
Since we're doing tributes, I want to express my and the show's prayers to the family of Hayden Phillips.
He was a Kentucky State trooper who yesterday was just doing his job in Warren County.
I think he was on a traffic stop.
And I think he was on a traffic stop knowing that the person was wanted.
in the area. If you live in Kentucky, you probably got alerts on your phone about this.
And then he was shot and killed in Warren County. You know, three kids, the picture of him,
I mean, and his family, saw a picture of him and his family. So sweet. And it's awful. Like,
just doing his job, comes to work on a regular day, gets the alert, and does his job and ends up killed.
So my prayers are with everybody involved.
I know everyone in the show says that as well.
And I hope people will take a chance to, you know, remember what these folks have to do
and how literally the lives of not just him, but his wife and three kids can change on a dime.
So prayers to Hayden Phillips and all the police community in the state of Kentucky.
We'll take a break.
Barry Bags. KSR.
T.J. Smith, personal injury attorney.
Call T.J. He'll make them pay.
Now more of Kentucky Sports.
radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Here's Matt Jones.
Maybe we're just being in like a reflective mood here on Ask Anything Tuesday, but
we were just talking about names from the KSR past that when you say them, like,
if you know these names, that means you know, like you are a true KSR thing.
Like you go way back.
So like Brian T. Slate.
Mm-hmm.
Oh, young me suck.
Right?
Yep.
That Brian T. Slade was the guy who called, they had somebody, he called in, or did his buddy call in. Either way, we got it trending. It was the number one trend in the U.S. from this show.
O'M Young MeSuk was a guy who I was supposed to host first take or beyond first take and then I got bumped for him.
The internet tells me Brian Slade had scoop on Stephen Zimmerman.
That's right. He was an Indiana fan.
That's right. And he became the number one trending topic.
He was the number one trending topic in America on this show.
He said write it down.
Stephen Zimmerman is going to Indiana, which did not happen.
Remember like 337 Winky Face, Shannon?
Yep, yep.
That was for Jalen Brown.
I know who that is.
I've met them.
Yeah, that was about scoop on Jalen Brown.
But if you go way back, and these aren't callers,
but like if someone says O.H. Napier or something like that,
you were on the ground floor.
I mean, O.H. Napier and Kaj Ramsey,
legends of the early internet.
right tubby can't coach they were streaming before they were streaming before that was the thing
TikTok vine we didn't couldn't even a concept and they were putting videos on the internet
yeah before that uh all right so so you said something happened in lexington about i'm reading it on
the fly here it's in the herald leader this morning but it looks like well the title is lexington
police use flock cameras to find a road rage suspect it led to an innocent man looks like
they surrounded a house with their guns drawn and it was not the right people of the same
kind of car, but not the right one.
Yeah, see, that's...
Okay, so...
In the middle of the night, or...
It's kind of like the same thing that happens with AI,
which is people will put something into AI,
and they're now convinced it's correct,
no matter what, right?
Because they're like, well, it's AI, so it must be true.
And then when they make, when AI makes errors,
then people are like...
Like me on Cover Zero yesterday.
Yeah, exactly. That happened yesterday on Cover Zero.
You were wrong.
But you kept insisting,
you were right because AI said it and I was like I don't care what AI says.
That's not correct.
It's real bad.
People use it trying to get stats on the UK's record for this team.
It is very inaccurate on that right now.
It would get there.
This wasn't that long ago.
I asked it something about the 78 team and it had John Wall playing for Kentucky in 78.
Like not even close.
Yeah.
Now, I mean, will it get better?
I'm sure it will.
But, you know, people now just take it as fact.
and it's not necessarily fact.
Right.
Like I saw that they're making an app.
Have you seen this?
They're making an app that's like an Ask Jesus app.
They're putting a lot of money into it.
And the idea is you can ask it questions and it in theory gives you the answer that Jesus would say because of the Bible.
Well, that's really dangerous.
Seems kind of sacrilegious.
I agree.
I think it seems very sacrilegious.
But people.
believe they are like talking to God and they're talking to an app.
And that's, I think, terrible.
But then, but also like on a less religious context, people like they use chat GBT
as a therapist.
Or a best friend.
Yeah.
I mean, that's, I just think all that is so tremendously sad and also dangerous.
You're just getting more and more isolated.
You know, I mean, I saw somebody just sued one of the companies because the chat GPT told
their kid how to kill himself.
People fall in love with AI voices too.
Oh, yeah. Yeah, and that's crazy. A.I. Girlfriends.
AI girlfriends. Yeah. That's sad.
It's really sad.
Well, the day that we were trying to do Adam Sandler trivia on the pre-show,
and it gave Billy in the Forrest Gump quote. I'm like, I'm out on AI.
You can't do our contest because of that.
All right. Let's, before I go back the phone, let's do us do Draft Kings real quick.
You go to draft Kings, about $5.
You went up to $150.
Let's pick the playoffs.
Two things.
Let's start with the playoffs.
I give you the series.
You tell me, or do we do this yesterday?
No, no, no.
Braves, Phillies, go.
Oh, come on.
I'm wearing Braves gear.
Yeah, I hate the Phillies.
Go Braves.
Braves.
I'm going to take the Braves.
White Sox Astros.
I'll say Astros bang on trash cans to win thesters.
Give me the lovable underdog White Sox.
I'm going to take the White Sox, but the Astros are going to win.
You know what the White Sox got that the Astros don't?
Frank Thomas.
The Pope.
Oh, yeah, that's true.
That's true.
The Pope.
Frank Thomas.
Cubs and Padres.
Cubs are the dog, right?
I think they are.
I'll take the Cubs.
Yeah, because they've got injured stuff.
Go, Cubs, go.
I'm going to say the Cubs win this one.
I'll take the Padres.
Red Sox Yankees.
Come on, Red Sox.
Sox.
Yeah.
Can both teams lose?
I'll go Yankees due to Myron's hat yesterday.
I'm going to go, Yonksks.
Yankees. Red Sox have been bad in September. I'm going to take the Yankees.
The NHL starts today. The hurricanes lower their banner at 5 p.m. I will be watching.
Pick who's going to make the Stanley Cup finals. I love doing this every year with Ryan because
he will pick two teams in the same conference. He has no chance. What do you got?
I will say my Preds, who are in the West, right? Yes, they are in the West.
throws people off.
It is.
Not a very western city.
I will say are the Canadians in the east.
They're in the east.
I will take Preds Canadians, which would be a very long shot.
Canadians are a dark horse to make it, though.
The Preds are not going to make it.
But the Canadian, all right.
I will take my Tampa Bay Lightning in the east and then the Seattle Cracken to come out of the West.
Well, you know, that turnaround season.
Las Vegas can do it with the Raiders and we're not the crack.
I'm going to go Vegas and the Boston Bruins.
Okay.
I'm going to go Hurricanes to repeat and the avalanche.
There you go.
That was a great preview.
Based off of no knowledge.
It was a few years ago we did this for the NFL and Ryan put the commanders in the Super Bowl.
Do you remember that?
He did.
On Matt Myron, I asked Myron, can you name 10 NHL players besides Sidney Crosby and Alexovich?
And he was like, of course I can.
And I said, okay, do it.
And he named one.
what I liked about that was the confidence to say of course I can
and not be able to name more than one
you think at least five is confident
he didn't think you're going to call him on that one he got one
all right let's go to Landon
I would get two at the most okay how many
okay to try besides Krosby and Oveitchkin
is uh oh well those
never mind
change my mind
Pekan Subandis he's a he's a he's an announcer
Yeah, you got my two.
Can you name one?
Think about who I've mentioned.
I know, he's got the short name.
Oh, it's like three letters.
You could do this.
Come on.
Sebastian.
Oh, oh, hey.
Oh, hi.
Ohio.
Ohio.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Damn it.
I was close.
Mary Sponson.
Okay.
Between the three of you.
Can you get another one?
Stamco's.
Is that a person?
Yes.
Okay.
I didn't.
Oh, you know,
lightning people.
Okay.
Non-lightening people, because that's your team.
Yeah, I don't. Can't name any.
Jonathan tells.
Connor McDavid is a person.
Connor McDavid, there you go.
That's like the best player.
Now I'm tapping out.
All right. Shannon, you got one?
No.
Wayne Groskey.
Who's the guy in Chicago?
Connor Bedard.
Yeah.
I know the Black Hawk have a really good player.
And then there are two brothers.
Do you know the two brothers?
Oh, yeah.
Well, there's two sets of brothers.
That's who won the gold medal for us.
The two sets of brothers.
Yeah. Do you know him?
I know his face with the no T. Hughes?
Hughes?
Yeah.
Jack Hughes.
Jack Hughes.
That's who hit the goal.
And then what's the weird sounding name that's in Florida?
I don't know that one.
I don't know.
The Cichucks.
I wouldn't have gotten them.
Okay.
All right.
That's enough.
Landon.
Go ahead.
Landon.
So, I think Will Stein is a new one.
And all the media does a seven-on-seven against each other.
And if that was to happen, what position is everybody playing?
Oh, I like that. Media madness but football.
Okay, I didn't hear the question when he said it.
Drew and I would probably be tight ends.
I'm the quarterback.
Of course.
You're learning that at your wedding.
Shannon, what would you be?
You feel like a slot receiver.
A slot receiver.
Mario's probably running back.
I don't know, I trust Ryan on a goal line stand to get to the end zone.
He's a bowling ball.
Ryan's a fullback.
Ryan's a fullback. Ryan's blocking for Mario.
Ryan's a good fullback.
Shannon and I played in an eye heart.
fantasy football game. And we won. I was quarterback and Shannon
would come up to me and say, get me the ball. Yeah, man, throw me the ball. Where was this?
This was back in Louisville. Tony Vanetti played in it. Dave Jennings. Where was I? Will Clark was
there. You weren't invited. Yeah, you weren't invited. Kevin, go ahead, Kevin. Are you ever going to
talk to the truth? He's been on there for two hours. Well, he hung up. He's right there.
All right, we'll go to the truth. Go ahead, truth. Sorry, Kevin, you'll go next. Truth.
Matt, my question I wanted to ask you, I'm glad that you did say something about the state trooper
because I had a question to ask you.
Matt, I was, Romans 13 chapters said be suggested, commit to authority and all got our theme of authority.
But Matt, also, I want to say this.
to the people when they pray.
See, Matt, when that man went to work,
he wasn't planned on getting killed.
He got three kids, Matt.
And I hope that people realize authority is not racist, color.
I mean, Matt, this man was going to work.
And he pulled over somebody.
Next thing, no, he'd get blown away
and get killed.
And I will challenge people to read Romans 13-1
because God are things authority.
We lost to there.
I appreciate it, true.
And, uh, yeah.
Well, they didn't come back, but we lost him.
Um, yes, sorry, truth.
Sorry, I lost you.
But, uh, I appreciate you sharing that.
859-280, 2287.
We will take a break.
Barry back.

Lisa, we should tell them about our new show.
Oh my god, Lexi.
I'm not going to get anywhere fighting.
That is wild.
I learned that about you today.
Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes, good taste is.
is my business and I've always got something to say.
If men were just honest about this,
there would be so much more peace in the world.
We're gonna talk about dating, relationships,
beauty, getting older, and a little wiser.
We're best friends, but we don't always agree.
Because you told us how accommodating you are.
Obviously I would do what I think I could do
to fight the fight, but there's only so much fight I can fight.
Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Don't lie to me.
Liar.

Yeah, it's reading. It's called reading.
So we don't like to use that word anymore.
Okay.

Have you guys done Terry Gross's Peloton class?
No!
I've been dying too.
I'm so sorry.
I'm seeing a reading of Sadako

By age 11 or so, at least 70%
have a phone. Middle school is a different world than the one we grew up in. I'm Dr. Joy, and this is
therapy for black girls. We spend real time on it in our surviving middle school run, bringing in a
child psychologist and a psychiatrist who's raising two black girls of his own to talk about
what's really going on with our kids right now. So it's literally physiological and neurological and
psychological and psychological chaos happening all this same time. We got into group chats and
gaming, friendships and bullying, and how to tell the difference between healthy monitor,
and the kind of surveillance that erodes trust.
There's belonging.
You could think of belonging as,
I can be myself and I can still be accepted.
And then there's fitting in.
Spitting in says, I have to change who I am
in order to avoid rejection.
Then we turn the conversation toward the fathers,
sitting down with therapist Keer Gaines on Black fatherhood
and what it means to raise a daughter through this stage.
You don't have on shorts, so you can't do flips,
you have on the dress, so you can cross your legs.
That's the range of this run.
From screen time to identity to the father.

You have to get off her device.
But the reality is there's a lot of life out there that we don't want you as your adults in
their lives to miss out on.
This has been our surviving middle school run.
Brought to you by the people who spend their careers thinking about exactly this.
I'm Dr. Joy.

Self-Care September is here, which means it's time to rethink what self-care actually means.
Yes, self-care can be a long walk.
It can be in everything shower.
It can be putting your phone on, do not disturb.
But sometimes it's actually about sitting with the uncomfortable stuff.
And understanding your patterns, your boundaries,
finally figuring out while you keep doing things that you swore you would never do again.
I'm Gemma Spag, the host of the Psychology of Your 20s podcast.
And each week, we unpack the psychology behind the experiences that shape your 20s.
From relationships and friendships to money, anxiety, confidence, attachment,
just becoming more comfortable with who you are.
Unlike the quarter life crisis, which is depicted as the collapse,
the quarter life reinvention is the expansion and growth of something.
When we develop the ability to be happy by ourselves,
nobody else can take that from you.
So this self-care September, don't just take care of yourself.
Get to know yourself as well.

Good topic today here on Ask Anything Tuesday that got us all the old pictures.
Y'all can stop sending me the big fat picture of me that was in the courier for a long time.
That was not an iconic photo.
I hate that photo.
The only one worse is the one where I'm speaking at the Vandy game.
but it fits the qualifications.
You said a photo you can see.
I can see that.
That was a terrible picture with me talking with all that hair.
The fact that you guys had buttons that said beat Vandy.
Beat Vandy on it.
I don't know who made those buttons.
I don't know.
There was a time when buttons were huge at UK games.
People would like stab each other over a free button.
I think I can tell this now.
Around that time in my life, I met a woman and I, like, I asked her out.
And she said yes, shockingly at the time.
she was like way out of my league especially i mean you see how i looked
and i also like wasn't like known then and we went out and we've got out like twice and she looked
at me and she was like i would we can go out but you have to get a haircut you need to go to the gym
and you have to stop wearing a t-shirt under your shirt
She like laid out the rules
That was too much for you
And I did it
And I did it
And I did all those things
I started going to the gym
I still thank her for having me
Stop wearing those white t-shirts under it
And I got my hair cut
All three of those things
I'm still friends with her
And I thank her for that
She might have changed the course of history
I think she did
Like I think
And literally
She was very blunt
She was like
We can go out
But this has got to change
Just change the way you look
This whole thing has got to change
So if not for her
Not for her
I may still look like that
You could have a beat LSU button next week
I don't think I don't know if I could grow all that hair now
But I still might look like that
And a white t-shirt on underneath that
Bacon collar
Bacon neck
Because I would always bacon
That's exactly right
Nick
Go ahead Nick
What's up fellas
Hey back to the sacred cloth
Topic
Yeah I mean it's not my favorite
it's a little cringy, but I'll tell you it would make it a lot better as if we were actually crushing it in basketball right now.
That's true. That's true.
I think the fact that we haven't crushed it does make it worse, you know?
Yeah.
So I was going to ask you, Matt, imagine we did this back in 2015.
You know, Cal was putting it everywhere.
Would you, would that help?
Would you guys go different about it?
Well, it would be different.
But I appreciate the call.
So Cal had a lot of qualities, especially towards the end that were frustrating.
But Cal was always cool.
There was never a moment Cal wasn't cool.
You know what I mean?
There are people who are just cool, and I'm not one of those people.
But when people are cool, they're just cool.
There's nothing.
Like, when you think of cool, what names come to come here?
Like, who do you is like the epitome cool?
Like name an actor.
George Clooney's cool.
The Rock.
No, he's a dude.
I think the Rock used to be cool.
I think the Rock used to be.
I don't know if I think he's close.
on your opinion, I guess.
In the world of politics, Ronald Reagan was always cool.
Barack Obama was always cool.
In the world of, like, acting, Brad Pitt's cool.
Maybe some McConaughey.
McConaughey's cool.
Clooney.
Yeah, Clooney.
Denzel.
Matt Bevin in Christmas movies.
I don't know if that's cool.
That's true, yeah.
What about in the UK world?
John Wall is cool.
John Wall will forever be cool.
Sunny Collins was cool.
Rex in college was cool
Rob Dillingham for the young kids
Cool
Tough seeing him get cut
He just got cut
Can you believe he got cut?
I mean I didn't think he'd ever be a full-time starter in the NBA
I thought he'd see a lot more
I thought he was going to be good
I mean I didn't think he was going to be great
But I certainly thought he wouldn't be cut in year four
I thought he's a little too small
And didn't have the defense to be
He was the eighth pick in the draft
Year two
I mean he's only been in the league for two years
No, this is going to be his fourth year.
I mean, he's been a third.
No one's going to be his third year.
You're right, he's only played two.
This was going to be his third year.
There's still time.
Yeah.
But, yeah, but you've already been.
But the thing is, the third year is the year that you got to get your, like, the third year is the year.
It's the most important year.
Big year for Reed.
Third year is the big year for everybody.
It decides whether or not you get that big contract extension.
And so Rob not being on a team is not a good sign, you know.
And that was the third team that's moved on from him.
He was a bull and got drafted about Minnesota.
And Minnesota used the spot they opened.
They signed Antonio Reeves.
So how about that?
He gets dropped for his teammate.
That second year, he had a big summer league,
and everybody thought he was going to have a big jump in year two,
and he didn't really play much at all or do anything.
And from there, it's been downhill.
By the way, I don't understand.
I was glad to see Antonio Reeves get picked up.
I don't know how Antonio Reeves has not been more of a player.
He scores 75 points a game in the G League.
You're telling me he can't score 10 in the NBA?
We have Antonio Reeves scoring at Will in the G League,
and Oscar Sheboy is still getting every rebound possible.
But he's playing this year.
The Rockets sign him to a real deal this year.
But his stats are, I think he already has G League records.
They were unbelievable rebounding.
He got married.
Did you see that?
Oscar got married.
He had a wedding, which is what people do when they get married.
Went to the TBT game the next day instead of Honeymoony.
is that right?
The Sunni Moon got delayed.
We looked up Oscar walked in.
He's like, well, our flight's delayed, so I thought I'd come over here.
Huh.
I just, I, Rob Dealingham, just not making it.
I just, I didn't see that heck coming.
We're all saving for something, but what if you could say for something?

Hey, so look, when we got Will Stein in the preseason,
I was expecting our offense to finally be great and takeoff. And I feel like it has improved,
but I've been surprised by how well the defense. Me too, me too. Defense's been good.
They're absolutely fantastic. Tom Bryant is great. Now, I also think that,
Bill Stein, he quickly fixed things
instead of just doing quick fixes.
So my question is for South Carolina game this weekend,
who do you think is the key player of the game?
Yeah, I'll tell you what.
Let me put that to the side for a minute.
We'll talk about that tomorrow
because we're going to preview the game a lot more than tomorrow.
I appreciate the call.
I do want to note,
stat came out yesterday that said UK's offensive line run protection
by far the best in the country.
Not close.
That little graphic,
UK was almost like in another area code.
We have a situation where we might have the best
run blocking offensive line in America, statistically.
Did you ever think there would be a day?
That's true.
Maybe five years ago when that was the brand.
With Will Stein coming in,
I know he brought in a good line,
but I did not have us having a game
with three 100-yard rushers running behind the line line,
Jeff Picoro said on the broadcast Saturday, I think Kentucky with Will Stein should invest their money in a quarterback and offensive one every year. He was like, we can find playmakers and running backs.
I kind of agree with it. And guys will want to go to you if you have that. Yeah. All right. Thank you folks very much. Billy. Thanks for sitting in today. We will see you tomorrow. It's KS.
