Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter.

Starting point is 00:02:43 Welcome, everyone. This is the local Toyota dealers KSR postgame show. It was a great victory tonight for Kentucky who, after a slow, slow start, was able to get a win. 105 to 76 at home tonight against George. Georgia State. It was an exciting game, one of the best crowds for a game against a non-conference team that I've seen in years. Literally, I think you have to go back years to find a non-conference game with this level of a crowd. It was awesome to see, and not only was a great crowd in terms of attendance, it was a great crowd in terms of sort of noise. I really, it was a cool night to watch,
Starting point is 00:03:32 and the cats get a victory that also gives us a lot to talk about. So let's just go over some things. 105, 76. Kentucky, if you look at the stats, this was a game that it was close at times, but could have been lost closer. I mean, they ended up winning by 30, but Georgia State shot 52% from three. They were 11 for 21 from three, whereas Kentucky was 7 for 26, shooting 26%.
Starting point is 00:03:58 You get a 52 to 26% difference. That's usually a bad sign, but Kentucky got through it. Kentucky still shot 60% from the field, even going 7 for 26 from three. Just doing a little math here. That means that they went, I mean, think about this for a minute, Billy. By my math, Kentucky went 33 of 41 from 2 in this game. That's crazy. 33 of 41 on 2.
Starting point is 00:04:32 this game. That's amazing, and that's how they ended up winning. You know, you can talk about the individual efforts in the game. You had six different people in double figures led by Jackson Robinson with 19. Butler had 17 Williams, Amari Williams, who I thought wasn't great in the first half, but really came on in the second half. How about my guy, Ansley-Almanor? I've been telling you about this guy, Billy, since Pro Day. I've been telling you to actually, we had seven guys. in double figures. Kobe Brea did too. But Almanor with 12,
Starting point is 00:05:06 Carr with 10, Bray with 10, seven guys in double figures, and Kirkrease says one short would not. So I'm not sure how you can have a more balanced effort, get a win. I think the big takeaway from the game will be the fight. Clash Peters,
Starting point is 00:05:23 which of course, Ryan on the pregame show said was his favorite player because of his name, Clash Peters started a fight. What I found interesting about it, it was a very cheap shot by the kid. You cannot undercut a guy when he jumps up in the air. That's how people can get really, really hurt. The whole team jumped in on it.
Starting point is 00:05:44 I wouldn't have thought of Kobe Brea as the first one ready to go, but he was. Ended up getting a technical. Mark Pope was out on the court, grabbed one of the Georgia State guys to get him to calm down. I'm still not sure how old clash didn't end up getting kicked out. He got a technical and a flagrant, and somehow he didn't get kicked out. And the ref gave the signal to kick him out, but I guess somehow he didn't get kicked out. What I didn't know at the time is that Cherokee Parks, a lot of the older listeners he will remember Cherokee Parks played for Duke. He made Billy my list of the 10 most hated Duke players.
Starting point is 00:06:22 I remember that, actually. Cherokee Parks, who people said I looked like when I was in high school and I didn't like that at all. that is Cherokee Park's Clash Peters is Cherokee Park's nephew You may remember if you listen That show a couple weeks ago For the Duke game When I was reading my all-time hated Duke players
Starting point is 00:06:39 I mentioned that Cherokee Park's sister Was in a punk band Do you remember me saying that? Yes. She was the lead singer of a punk man That's his mom Oh my God That's his mom
Starting point is 00:06:50 And I can't even say on the radio What the name of the band is I literally can't I'm not allowed to say the name but not only do I remember the band, they played in Lexington at Linus once. And I didn't go, but I had a couple friends who did go. So Clash Peter's mother once played punk rock at Linas in Lexington. How about that factoid tonight?
Starting point is 00:07:16 Otherwise, look, Kentucky's 7 and 0. First time they've been 7 and 0 since the Fox Monk Bam season, which I think coincidentally is probably the last time Kentucky had like a national title contender team. Some people think that the team with the tournament that got canceled by COVID, that maybe that was a title contender. I don't know. Maybe. But without question the 2017 team was,
Starting point is 00:07:46 that's the last time they've been undefeated through November. But it gets hard this week. All right. It gets hard this week. At Clemson, at Gonzaga. road games. We're going to be at one of them. I think it's going to be really interesting to see what this team does. Clemson, not as good maybe as we thought they'd be, but still six and one, but took a 13 point loss to Boise State. And then Gizaga, I think, can be really good,
Starting point is 00:08:11 although they did lose in the Bahamas this weekend. So now Kentucky gets a chance to show off their road grit over the course of the next week. I will say, as good as this was, For me, I remember two things about this game. Well, maybe three. I'll remember the O-A dunk, which was an awesome dunk, reverse on the runout. I will remember the fight. And then I'm going to remember what happened after the game, where if you didn't hear it, Mark Pope looked at the people that were left at the postgame show.
Starting point is 00:08:49 I saw somebody say 200. Billy, I think it was a lot more than 200. I would say more like seven or $800. I saw them, you know, I saw the picture. It looked probably like $6 to $800. Mark Pope bought them all ice cream. He said, my credit card is at the ice cream stand. Everyone can have as much free ice cream as they want going home.
Starting point is 00:09:13 I mean, that's a lot of ice cream, Billy. How much you think that ice cream cost? How much did it cost it, Rupp? The famous Taylor Bell ice cream. That's a great question. I'm not sure, but it's got. got to be four or five bucks, right? I bet it's more than that.
Starting point is 00:09:26 I bet it's like six. You think it's five. Let me, it's interrupt, so it's going to be more, six to eight. Somebody knows. You can text me, 772, 77, four, five, two, five, four. Let's say that there, let's just say it's $6. If all, if 600 people got it, you know, that's $3,600. That's a, I know he makes a lot of money, but that's a big chunk of change on ice cream.
Starting point is 00:09:50 But Mark Pope said, I don't have time to sign autographs, so I'm going to do this. I just think that's a really cool thing to do. You know, I sat here waiting for a lot of postgame shows over the last few years, and I heard a lot of what would happen. And let's just say, this is so refreshing to just have a coach that's so happy with the fans. He said that Kerr Kreeza said during the timeout, Look at how many people are here for a game.
Starting point is 00:10:24 This happens nowhere else, and it doesn't. And the energy we had at the bar before the game, it was like a football game in there. And then this evening tonight, the victory, just a great time. And now we get a chance to go on the road and do it twice next week. Two games that I think will be really interesting. I personally, if we could go one in one, I'll take it. don't want to go 0 and 2.
Starting point is 00:10:52 Two and O would be great. But I think if we go one in one, beat Colgate, obviously we've got to beat Louisville, beat Ohio State. I mean, we could go in Congress to play with one loss. I think that's legitimately a possibility. I don't think. I think Louis is better than I thought they were,
Starting point is 00:11:11 but Ohio State might be a little worse, and Clipson might be a little worse. So, you know, four games. I think you go three and one, you'd be pretty happy. But one of the three has to be little. But they're better. They're better.
Starting point is 00:11:27 They did well. I mean, they lost today, but they did well in the Bahamas. 859-2-80-2287. Text machine is 772-7-4-5-254. We will take a break. Cats get a victory. We're going to go until a little before 1130. And then we're all going to go to bed because we got a pregame show tomorrow at 8 in the morning,
Starting point is 00:11:45 Billy, for the cats and the cards. You ready for that? Two hours. I'll be ready. Yeah, somebody please get up and listen. I have a feeling that first hour is going to be like me and we're going to be hoping. Also, it looks like Max Duffy is going to Seattle as it was Lexington Christian loses up at Peachwood. And Douglas loss, so Ryan doesn't have to fly home.
Starting point is 00:12:08 So it will be a full house for the trip out west with KSR. And this is the local toy dealers, KSR post game show. Welcome back. It is the local toy dealers KSR post game show. Georgia down 20 to 13 with just six minutes to go with their well I say their playoff lives on the line
Starting point is 00:12:33 I'm not sure if that's true because Billy like they're still in the SEC championship either way aren't they? I believe so. I think they are so I think they could lose this game have three losses but they could still get in by winning the SEC championship but this would make it to where if they lost
Starting point is 00:12:50 they couldn't get in. High school games going on around the state. Like I said, Lexington-Cliff Christian loss. It looks like Sarah beat Campbellsville. Actually, I'll give the other ones as I see them. I saw some stories earlier, but the rest of they've all gone away. Oh, excuse me, Christian Academy of Louisville beats Lexington Catholic. Earl Jones gets his revenge on.
Starting point is 00:13:20 on Ryan Lemon. 859-280-2287. One person writes, do you think you could give me a hint of what Clash Peters' mom's band's name is? I cannot. I don't think there would be any way to do it. It starts with Nashville,
Starting point is 00:13:38 but I can't tell you the last word. It rhymes with what? No, no, no. Don't tell rhymes. Don't get, don't just, Ryan Lemon, let, like, let it hang out there, okay? Don't take a joke and knock it. It's Nashville.
Starting point is 00:13:53 Just look up. Punk band Nashville Blank. I think you'll probably see it. But that is Cherokee Park's sister and Clash Peters' mom. And I had a chance to go see him at Linus. Someone listening out there may have seen them at Linus. Ice cream costs $7, Bill.
Starting point is 00:14:12 What? That's the biggest surprise of the night. $7? That's not crazy. Have you been to sporting events? Not lately. I'm stuck in the studio. Yeah, I mean, a soda is like $8 or $9, so it's not crazy that ice cream would be. $7. $7. So that's adding up.
Starting point is 00:14:29 I did that once at the bar. I was like, hey, I'll buy everybody, blah, blah, and then all of a sudden you get the bill. And you're like, oh, wait a minute. That's more expensive than I realized. All right, who's up first? Jordan. Jordan. Jordan.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Hey, Matt. I thought it was great. The adversity that the team fought through with the first half. and also thought it was great that Patrick Sparks was the Y just wanted to give a shout to the guy that was there tonight, Larry the Cove would tow Johnson and Paycon. And what do you think about the fact that the Tyson Chicken Food PR company slash John Calpary
Starting point is 00:15:06 is now writing for Sports Illustrator? Yeah, I saw that article. That was ridiculous. Appreciate the call. I, you know, I agree with you about the adversity. I mean, it was 50. I mean, we won by 29. At one point, we were up by 34.
Starting point is 00:15:26 And, you know, we were only up six with 15 minutes to go. I mean, that's what's great about this team. And we won without shooting threes. I mean, we only hit seven threes and two of them were at the very end. So, I mean, we won this game. We took a team that I was listening to Pope say they played a style that is very rare. What was it, driving and dunk? driving, I can't remember what he said it was.
Starting point is 00:15:50 But basically, their bigs come over and try to seal your man off to give layups and then putbacks. And Pope's there's only a couple teams that play it. And yet we outscored them by 40 in, we outscored them by 40 in the paint. So, I mean, that's a really good and encouraging sign for this offense win a lot of different ways. That's what, I think that's what you want to see. By the way, I am amazingly excited about this team. And as I talked about on the pregame show, I mean, I've watched now the best teams in the country all play. And I think we look like we can compete with any of them.
Starting point is 00:16:33 This next weekend, this next week, though, is going to tell me, like, do I ramp up the excitement from this is going to be a good year to, okay, like, what are the prices in San Antonio? Like, like, this is the week. Not that we have to win both games. We win one, and then Gonzaga's a game with two or three minutes to go. We might be looking like, all right, is the riverwalk fun in San Antonio? You know, because San Antonio is one of the biggest cities in America. I've never been to. We're going to go to one of them on this trip.
Starting point is 00:17:05 Portland, I've never been there, and I've never been to San Antonio. This would be a nice time to go. Who's next? Jonathan. Jonathan. Touchdown Georgia Tech. Wow. Georgia is going to go down at heart.
Starting point is 00:17:16 home to Georgia Tech. Go ahead. Let's go. All right. So two quick things. One, I've just noticed, like, since Pope has come here, my expectations have raised so much as far as execution. Like, anytime we have a possession where we get a mid-range jump shot or a contested shot, like, I'm frustrated. And that was just kind of the norm under Cal. No, you're right.
Starting point is 00:17:41 Like, it's like, you go, wait a minute. What are we doing? We're supposed to do a three-year layup. You're exactly right. Doesn't happen a lot, though. Right. Yeah. So I think that's great that he's changed that culture.
Starting point is 00:17:52 And then, too, I think Pope's like a really intentional guy as far as leadership in psychology. And if you already said this, sorry, I may have missed the intro. But do you know why he went after like number seven of the other team to pull him away in that skirmish? You know, I don't know. I think, yeah, I don't know. I mean, I think maybe that was just where he was the closest. I'm not sure. Maybe he thought seven was the most angry.
Starting point is 00:18:16 I don't think it was intentionally like I'm going to go after the other team. I think maybe he just ran natural instinct to break it up. But I don't know. I mean, it is, it's rare to see a coach grab another team's player. And I think coaches don't like when other coaches do that. But I also didn't see the Georgia State coach mad because probably because he's like, well, I can't be mad at Mark Pope. So I don't read much into it, honestly. Okay.
Starting point is 00:18:44 All right. I appreciate the call. I did read something into those threes at the end. You know, there's a lot of people, Billy, who maybe had some dollars on the cats to cover. They probably thought they had no chance at it. And then we hit it and then Kerjacked up those threes at the end. And they ended up covering. We didn't cover the spread. They ended up actually do it. So that was a tough break if you had Kentucky tonight.
Starting point is 00:19:11 Yeah, I guess he was going for a thousand points on his career. Yeah, I didn't know that. So I guess, so when you hear the story, when I saw him shoot it three straight times without passing, I was like, what are you doing, man? But then I guess he was at 997 points. He needed three more for a thousand, and his family is here from Estonia. So I think I guess he wanted to hit it while they were here. And so that, I think that makes it completely justifiable.
Starting point is 00:19:41 But there was a little ball hogishness there. it was kind of like playing with Billy and pick up. Like he was like cross half court and it goes up brick. That's the Billy Rutledge experience is what. Oh, is that right? Yeah, that's what I hear. I mean, we haven't played, but I mean, I hear it. Who's next?
Starting point is 00:19:57 Jeff. Jeff. Jeff. Jeff. Jeff. Jeff, Jeff and Bartham, how are you doing tonight? Good.
Starting point is 00:20:03 What's up? Nothing much. I got two quick things. First thing is I'm ready to say Lambella is the best point guard in the country, especially on the defensively. Defensively, defensively, he is a beast. And I mean, he never gives the opposing point guard like anything. He never, never gives him a break.
Starting point is 00:20:29 All right. My second thing really quickly is with our non-conference schedule, the rest of it clearing out with the opponents kind of shaping up in our favor, what keeps you from saying we could go undefeated in December? I mean nothing. I mean, just, well, I mean, I guess it's possible. If I were to say like what makes, what keeps me from thinking it, just numbers. I mean, you're playing four difficult games. Two of them are on the road. One of them's on a neutral side. Only ones at home. Just feel like you probably stumble one of them. But like, is it crazy to win them all? No. Let me, if I were to rank them in difficulty, I would say the two next week or the hardest. Gonzaga won, then at Clemson. And then I guess I would say, I guess I'd say Louisville, just because I think they can get,
Starting point is 00:21:26 if, you know, if they were to hit threes. I think they shoot a lot of threes. I don't know if they make a lot. But, and then I guess Ohio State. But all four of those games are winnable. Three of them, you're going to be the favorite. And I doubt we're the favorite at Gonzaga. I pretty much agree across the board there.
Starting point is 00:21:46 Also, I can't stand the media love for a little over right now, but that'll be a great game. Well, I mean, look, they deserve it. They've been awful. I mean, awful. I appreciate to call for three years. So, I mean, I get them being excited, and I hate that their dude got hurt today. I mean, that they had the guy said look like Pete Davidson prior, I think is his name. He got hurt today, and it looked bad.
Starting point is 00:22:12 I hope he's not out for the year. Seriously, I said that, but I mean it. Like, that would stink because he's played well. And, you know, they're going to, they're going to be competitive. I wasn't sure after the Tennessee game, if they would. But they're going to be competitive. They beat, I mean, poor, good Indiana, good grief. Lost by 30 to them.
Starting point is 00:22:31 But they didn't, they lost Oklahoma today. Here, I saw a stat that I didn't realize, Billy. Louisville has had five coaches since Rick Pissue. Patino. Did you know that? Now that you say that, I wouldn't have that number. Okay, well, so let me do this. Let's try, let's try something here. Okay. Can you name the five Louisville head coaches since Rick Patino?
Starting point is 00:22:55 And by the way, they've each coached at least 18 games. So it's not like a dude who just coached one game. Well, okay, one of them hasn't coached 18 yet. But like, how many, can you name the coaches? I just gave you a hint for one. David Padgett. David Padgett. Chris Mack.
Starting point is 00:23:12 Chris Mack. Pat Kelsey. Kenny Payne. Kenny Payne. Now, can you name the fifth? Yeah, he was the interim guy. I can't think of his name, though. I, here's what's crazy.
Starting point is 00:23:25 This guy coached Louisville for 18 games, and I don't know that I ever heard his name spoken. Because I'm not sure I can even pronounce it. Was it like Pegasus or something like that? Nice job. Mike. E-E-G-U-E-S. Oh, is that? Pegis.
Starting point is 00:23:46 Pegis. Yeah. I had no idea that that dude coached Louisville. And he coached Louisville for 18 games. Was that after Mac? That was when Mac was forced to resign after the whole. Yeah. Dino Gaudio.
Starting point is 00:24:01 Did he end up going to prison? I never saw that, actually. I think he did. And Dino was like a nice guy, but Mike Pagis. The local coach, no one will ever remember. Who's next? Joey. Joey, you think they put him on the highlight video on Pida Gis when they do it?
Starting point is 00:24:20 Joey, go ahead, Joey. Hey, what's up, Matt? Second time, long time. What's up? Hi, what's up? I have two questions and then one second question to the second question. Does it make you nervous at all with these mid-major teams? that we haven't played as hard as we have the first three or four teams.
Starting point is 00:24:46 No. And my second question is... I mean, there's no team that plays all the time, 100% effort. And everybody that plays Kentucky plays their Super Bowl. And we still won by 30. Like, that's another thing to remember. We still won by 30. Like, I mean, it feels, this, if this was a game that would have been like an eight-point game a few years ago.
Starting point is 00:25:08 We won by 30. So, so, yeah, I mean, the first time. half was disappointing, but I mean, think about this. It was disappointing. We still scored 48 points or 45 or whatever it was, right? So, you know, so I could only be so disappointed. What was your second question? And my second question is, do you think that Cudder Bowler Bowler is going to throw over 200 yards? And if he foe over 200 yards, do we have a victory? And that's all I got. Good questions. You know, I don't know. I'm going to say, No, because I think they're going to run the ball a lot.
Starting point is 00:25:46 I think if they do, the thing is, I think if they do, we probably win, but there's also a world where we do because we're behind and we throw the ball a lot. I don't have a good feeling about tomorrow. I'm going to be honest with you. I talked about it on Fade This. You'll hear me say it on the pregame tomorrow. I don't like the vibes around the team right now. I don't like the stuff I'm hearing.
Starting point is 00:26:14 I just don't feel good about it. So this will probably be the first time. Well, I guess I picked Louisville last year, but I think everybody did. But I probably will pick Louisville tomorrow. I just don't, I just don't like what I'm hearing. So, but, you know, hopefully I'm wrong. I'd love to be wrong. I was wrong last year, and I was very happy about it.
Starting point is 00:26:35 So 859-280-2287. Let's do one more and we'll take a break. Who's next? Alan. Alan. Go ahead, Alan. Hey, Matt. First time wrong time.
Starting point is 00:26:46 Who are? What's up? Not much. I'm going to just say I'm a Louis fan. I listen to you. My dad's a season ticket holder. Season ticket holder. Your dad's season ticket holder for Louisville or Kentucky?
Starting point is 00:27:07 For Kentucky football. Okay, so you're a Louisville fan, but your dad's a season ticket holder on Kentucky. Go ahead. yeah correct and i've waited oh what is about seven years now i'm gonna after tomorrow's ask you can we give you all i'm gonna smoke a cigar in his face in your dad's face in my dad's face that doesn't seem very nice though i mean he's he's your father you don't want to smoke a cigar in his face oh it's enough for me i'm gonna do it to him so what does he do What does he do to you when we've won?
Starting point is 00:27:49 Because we've won what? We've won five straight football games. We've won what, seven straight basketball games. So what does he do to you after those? It's just awful, man. The Will Levis, the L's Down, y'all started all that. It's all the L's down. I'm just tired of it, man.
Starting point is 00:28:12 Well, I hope you don't get a chance to do it. Just out of curiosity, if your dad was a Kentucky fan, How did you end up being Darth Vader and going to the dark side? Well, they tried. They tried at a young age to raise me on the blue side. But I chose that. Rick Patino, to be honest. So you chose a life of misery instead of happiness.
Starting point is 00:28:39 Well, I'll choose Rick Patino over everything. All right. Well, there are other people who've made that mistake. but I understand. But listen, I wish you luck tomorrow, but not too much luck. And either way, call the postgame show, all right? Because I want to hear if you actually do or if your dad gets to mock you again. All right.
Starting point is 00:29:04 Appreciate you, man. It seems like a very well-adjusted household there of cigar smoke blowing in the face. Georgia scored quickly, so it's just at seven points. Georgia Tech's going to need a first down. or Georgia will have a chance to tie the game. This would be a brutal loss for Georgia. Or Georgia Tech, if they score late and then are not able to win. Let's see the pass.
Starting point is 00:29:27 Oh, nope, and it's incomplete. No, he caught it. Oh, but just shore the first down. So a third one coming up. If Georgia Tech gets it, it's going to be hard for Georgia to win. We'll take a break and be right back. This is the local toy dealers, KSR post-game show. Welcome back.
Starting point is 00:29:48 It is the local toy dealers, KSR post-game show. game show. All right, I'm going to give you the thing. I'm going to rank what people get crazy angry about, Billy, in order of like how much they get angry vis-a-vis, or just in general. Or just at life, but vis-a-vis how much they should. Okay. Okay. In third place is, in third place is UK U of L. Okay. UK of L, people, that guy, that guy, I would notwithstanding, they get really angry about, and we're in that time. Like, if we lose tomorrow, Billy, I just stay off the phone. Oh, yeah, get ready for it.
Starting point is 00:30:30 Right. Like, you just stay off. Like, it's good. Number two is politics. Yes. People somehow believe that if I tweet something about politics, that that will swing the election. And so they get very angry. And they, they yell at me.
Starting point is 00:30:45 And they think, like, they're solving the nation's problems by yelling at me. But number one. in terms of sheer amount of anger that is crazy in proportion to how much it should be is when we pick against a high school football team. I've seen some of that backlash. When we pick our games, and it's clear if you listen to our high school picks, that only Ryan has any notion of any of it, right?
Starting point is 00:31:15 We don't know what we're doing. We don't know these teams. We don't know this game. We have no idea. But people get so angry. So there are Sayre fans just absolutely going crazy because we picked Campbellsville and Sayer won. Right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:34 So that I think is very funny to me the way how angry people are. So congratulations to Sayer. All the bulletin board material you'll give in out there across the day. Oh, dude. Bulletin board. Like in all the locker rooms. Paducah Tilman, by the way, the fighting Chattanooga's, as Ryan called them, beat Corbin as well today. They'll be in the state championship game. Cooper beat Highlands.
Starting point is 00:31:59 Poor Corbin, I guess all the Raceland won, though, so we will have one mountain team playing for a state championship. That Georgia Tech got the first down, Billy, but fumbled it after they got the, all you had to do is fall down. He fumbled it, and now Georgia has a chance to tide up. and they'll win if they do unbelievable Georgia can still get the game boy living on borrowed time who's next chris Chris Chris go ahead Chris hey uh hey Matt uh first time long time who are um like uh I just want to appreciate the maturity of our basketball team they uh like clearly can handle incidents and you know collect them themselves and, you know, just move on, you know, not.
Starting point is 00:32:52 It was clearly, it was clear that fight is kind of what it got us going. It was a six-point game. It was a six-point game on that. Oh, well, yeah. Yeah, yeah, definitely. Like, yeah, no, no, I thought that was great. My other point was, you need to move the site over to Blue Sky. like blue sky is a social media site that uh you know is less toxic yeah people tell me that
Starting point is 00:33:24 and i and i probably at some point will create an account there but the problem is there are so many accounts now and i spent many years building that twitter one up and it's kind of like i feel like it's kind of like i feel like head basketball coaches elon'll give it up some point, right? Like, you know, I say about basketball and football coaches, you know, I was here longer than they were. And I've been on Twitter since 2011. And so I don't want to give up that whole following just because it's, but, but you,
Starting point is 00:33:57 but I probably will end up at some point, uh, going on. Is it called blue sky? Yeah, blue sky. All right. Um, yeah, like it's, you know, it's just, you know, just easy. Yeah, thanks. Appreciate the call. I just learned TikTok, really, and now they want me to go on another site.
Starting point is 00:34:16 Oh, you can have Mario post for you? I went and got on threads, and now the only thing on there are like it's now, that's all porn bots too, Billy. I never did that one day. I think everybody did it for one day and then they never went back. But, so I don't know how many of these I'm supposed to do. What's next? Kate. Kate, go ahead, Kate. Hey there.
Starting point is 00:34:40 What's going on, Kate? All right, first time, 99-year time. Quick question. What's up? One about basketball. Okay. What do you predict for our end of this year, so end of December? Second question, I'm going to do these real quick because I want you to answer them all at the same time.
Starting point is 00:35:04 How's the cooking going because I'm a retired chef and I see you and I don't see you cooking. I'm starting after our trip. I haven't started yet. I'm going to start after our trip. I didn't want to start and then stop. So when we get back from our trip, I'm starting. We're going to keep you an honest fan on that one. Okay, I will.
Starting point is 00:35:25 Okay, then go ahead with the basketball. Okay, I appreciate the call. The record at the end of December, well, we'll have finished all of our non-conference games. So that's 13 games. I'm going to say 12 and 1. I thought it would actually be like 10 and 3 or 11 and 2, but I'm going to go ahead and say 12 and 1.
Starting point is 00:35:48 I think we'll drop one of these, probably one next week, either the Clemson or the Gonzaga game, but I'm going to say we go 12 and 1. And then in the SEC play, man, I don't know, because the league is going to be so hard. I mean, you know, Billy, the top five next week, four of them may be SEC teams. Wow. And the Oklahoma just did a little.
Starting point is 00:36:13 Oklahoma just won the Bahamas thing. Old Miss nearly won their tournament, lost in overtime to Purdue. Florida beat a team by like beat Wichita State by 40 today. A&M, I think, is undefeated. Like, it's crazy. The SEC is going to be so good. You know, you could go in the SEC in 18 games. you could go 10 and 8 and still be really good.
Starting point is 00:36:42 11 and 7. You know, it's going to be, I mean, Oklahoma was projected 15th in the league, and they just won the battle for Atlantis. The bad boy mowers battle. Oh, bad boys. Who's next? Todd. Todd.
Starting point is 00:36:57 What's up, Todd? Hey, Matt. George is about to score. We're here. Touchdown. They did score. They'll probably, should they kick the extra point here, you think?
Starting point is 00:37:07 Or do you think they go for two? I say, no, I say kick the extra points. Yeah, you're at home, you're the better team, you kick the extra point. That's what they're doing. Go ahead. Right. I was going to say, with this poor three-point shooting we had tonight and still score 105 points, that is amazing. Amazing.
Starting point is 00:37:28 You're exactly right. Amazing. Score 105 points, 33-2s, 33 of 41 from 2. That's an unheard-of percentage. I mean, what is that? That's almost, that's over 80% from two, 80%. Yep. And I wanted to say something about our defense on the inside.
Starting point is 00:37:53 It seems like we let them back into us, back us into the basket. I don't know if that, what you would do about that or what, you know what I'm talking about? No, I think you're right. So I think if you look at it, this is just my take on it. I think Amari Williams and Carr, and Garrison didn't play tonight, but Amari Williams and Carr are the guys that sort of let that happen the most. But I think if you look at the shot the guy ends up getting, more often than not, the guy ends up with a contested shot that rarely goes in, right?
Starting point is 00:38:33 So even if it's four feet, I mean, it's one thing to have a four or five footer, it's another thing to shoot it over a guy at 6-11 with a 7-foot-5, you know, wingspan. Like, I think that makes it. So I think that's probably part of it rather than foul them 10 feet from the basket. Say, all right, you try to shoot over me. Yeah, I just hope we're able to stop that. And Auburn looked awesome. Oh, yeah, they're the best team, I think, in the country right now.
Starting point is 00:39:04 I mean, to me, to me, if I were doing, and I appreciate the call, if I were doing the top 25, I'd go Auburn one. Kansas two. And then, honestly, if you're talking about who they've beaten, probably us three. Now, they'll probably put Tennessee three and us four. But if you're just talking about who we've beaten, we've beaten Duke. Now, they play, Tennessee plays, well, they play North Carolina. But Auburn and Duke is this week.
Starting point is 00:39:29 It's interesting about these ACC teams, like take Duke. Duke plays Auburn. And they've had probably the hardest schedule to start the season of anybody. They've had Kansas, they've had Kentucky. Auburn, Arizona. But from now on, Billy, they don't play anybody except North Carolina. Like nobody in the ACC is good, except them. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:54 So you think Kentucky might be better prepared. So like think about, well, I think what's going to be interesting, the ACC, you know, has always been considered, understandably, this tough test. I don't know if that's true this year. I think Duke, you could make a strong argument that Duke is going to play its three hardest games in the first four weeks of the season. Us, Auburn, and Kansas. You know, because North Carolina, I'm not sure how good they are.
Starting point is 00:40:20 And the rest of the ACC, I don't know if anybody's good. What about Clemson? Well, I mean, we'll see. We'll find out Tuesday. You know, they lost by 13 to Boise State, which is a weird loss. But, you know, we might find out Tuesday that they're a lot better than we'll see. I don't know. We'll find out.
Starting point is 00:40:36 Who's next? Caleb. Caleb. Go ahead, Caleb. Hey Matt, previous caller kind of took my thought, but I will say it's just nice to have like the excitement around the program. This is a game against Georgia State on Black Friday, and man, was that crowd into it. It was so nice to see. Obviously, Clash Peters kind of gave us something to cheer against, but that was fun.
Starting point is 00:41:03 And then the other thing was I'm just really glad at how player-led this team is with the Duke thing at halftime, getting the players say what's going on. And then today with Kirk Creesa, kind of getting the guys together and just around them around. It's really cool to see. And then before I get off here, I'll just say, can you imagine our previous coach buying everyone ice cream? I could early in his time.
Starting point is 00:41:30 I could not have late in his time, you know, I mean, if I'm being honest. Early in the Cal area, yes, he would have done something like that. Um, by the end, no. And I appreciate the call. I mean, I always think when you talk about Cal, you have to talk about pre, pre and post COVID Cal. Because pre-COVID Cal, I really don't think you could have had many complaints with the way he dealt with fans.
Starting point is 00:41:55 You know, he was a little obnoxious with the whole basketball bennies, but I always kind of thought it was like out of love. And then I thought post-COVID, it kind of became out of anger and frustration. But yeah, early in this time I could have. But, you know, Mark's hitting all the right notes and it's fun. I mean, tonight, tonight was an amazing crowd, not just in attendance, which was great, but also in like energy and excitement. I mean, the fans were, the fans were into it.
Starting point is 00:42:28 I mean, at the bar today, when I got there, I got there 30 minutes for a pregame show, and I couldn't believe how many people were there. This was a great, great atmosphere. 859-280-2287. Let's do one more, and we'll take a break. Who's next? Gatlin. Gatlin.
Starting point is 00:42:44 What's up, Gatlin, boys? First time, long time. Who are? How old are you, Gatlin? 14, 13. I'm in 12. It's close. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:42:57 I was at the game today. I thought it was really cool that we had seven players and double figures. And I got Kobe. Braya had a really good defensive game even though he didn't get as many threes, just shoot or shoot. I have one question. Yep. If the NCAA tournament started today, how far do you think we would go? Yeah, well, Gowd, I appreciate the call.
Starting point is 00:43:23 I would say if the tournament started today, if it started today, I think we'd be a one seed, which is kind of awesome. and yeah I mean I think we're I'd have us as an elite eight team and then see what the matchup is in the in the elite eight I mean I think this team's good now I mean it's you know it's tough because if we're objective they've only played one really good team that's going to change here in a few weeks so we're going to have a lot better chance to kind of know and and decide but yeah you know I'm Gatlin I'm a I'm a fan of what we've done so far So I think you got to be you got to be excited. All right.
Starting point is 00:44:05 So appreciate the call. What would you do right here if you're Georgia Tech? It's fourth and one. Not what Louisville did a couple weeks ago. There's seven seconds to go, right? So fourth and one, you got a decent kicker, but you're probably too far to kick. So, but if you don't get this first down, you'll give Georgia a chance at a Hail Mary. So what are you doing?
Starting point is 00:44:26 You got to do a Hail Mary with the concept of running around for a couple seconds. Wait a minute. Why are you going to do the Hell Mary? You can get 10 yards and you're in field goal range and you have a timeout. Don't you just run a quick play? And you could not get it. And then then they have the ball. Well, but they, but they'd have to throw a Hell Mary.
Starting point is 00:44:44 Wouldn't you like, so you're throwing the hell Mary. You're not going to try to get in field goal range. Yeah, I'm putting zeros on the clock after this play. Part of it depends on how good your kicker is. I don't know how good this kid is. They're showing highlights of him missing the extra point, it looks like. Yeah, he missed, it looks like he missed an extra point. early in the game. But if you think your kicker's good, like if it was Kentucky in this situation,
Starting point is 00:45:08 then I would, I would try to throw a quick pass. You got, you can use the whole field because you have a time out. And that would leave Georgia with one play. They would only have a chance to throw a Hail Mary and you just hope you defend it well. Is it Brock or is it cutter back there? Well, I mean, I guess it's because it matters. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I feel more confident than if it's cutter we'll see all right we'll let you know when we come back uh 859 280 2287 i think they should go for it but throw a short pass we'll find out what they do right after this it's a local toy dealers ksr post game show well they did what i suggested which was throw but then he got knocked down to line of scrimmage dude was open too so georgia will get a chance uh we'll find out if they
Starting point is 00:45:53 screwed up i like that play call though that's what you ought to do you just can't throw it against the georgia guys hands all right so here are your state finals, Billy. You give me the Billy early pick. I'll wait and pick it. Oh, now I'll be the controversial one. Yeah, you give the early pick. We'll give our picks this week. Friday, a title, Sayre and Raceland, who you got? Sayre didn't even have a football program eight years ago. I'm going Chad Pennington and Sayre to get the victory here. Dude, this is Mountain versus rich. You take Mountain every time. Come on. I got a lot of friends with Sarah. connections.
Starting point is 00:46:31 And I love the coaching staff. But this is the mountain. These are raceland. These are boys from the hills, Bill. Sounds like you're already on Sayers' bad. You think they're scared of all these kids, all the rich Sayer kids. Sayers good, though. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:46:49 You can go either way. Owensboro Catholic and Beechwood. I got to go Beachwood. They've been dominant, haven't they? I mean, it's like their eighth straight title or something like that. Title game, that is. So Beachwood. I'm taking Owensbrook Catholic.
Starting point is 00:47:02 They're good this year. Tillman, why am I telling you? I'm supposed to be saving mine. Sorry. Tillman Franklin County. I don't know about this one. So do not be upset other fan bases, but I'll go Tillman here. Christian Academy of Louisville versus Union County.
Starting point is 00:47:17 Union County, always known for its wrestling. I don't know if they've even made the state football before. Maybe they have. But Christian Academy of Louisville, the fighting Earl Joneses, who you got? Yeah. Allegiance with Earl Jones here. Okay. I'm going to do with all right.
Starting point is 00:47:31 I stand with our. Ryle, Ryle, up in Northern Kentucky versus Trinity. Trinity, down year for Trinity. They still might win the state championship. Yeah, yeah. I'll never pick Trinity. So give me Ryle.
Starting point is 00:47:43 Oh, wow. You don't like Trinity? No. Why don't you like Trinity? Personal reasons. Oh, personal reasons. Oh, wait a minute. Fumble.
Starting point is 00:47:53 All right. So they're going to overtime in Georgia. Cooper and Bowling Green. Oh, this is tough. I spent a lot of time in Bowling Green, but I'm going Cooper. I'm actually going to guarantee a Cooper win in that game. Why are you guaranteeing the Cooper win? They have got that quarterback that's so good, right?
Starting point is 00:48:09 Yes. Best quarterback in the state. And the quarterback's coach was my former podcast host. His name was Billy as well. Oh, well, that's why you're excited about him. Well, good luck to your Billy. Who's up next? All right.
Starting point is 00:48:21 Let's go to Dave. Dave, go ahead, Dave. Hey, Matt Jones. How's it going, brother? What's going on? Oh, sorry, first time long time. Who are? All right, so just a couple points.
Starting point is 00:48:39 I thought Butler really did an awesome job of keeping us in the game whenever it was early and he was kind of struggling a little bit. And then also I think Kobe, Kobe Brea, like, even though he wasn't hitting his shots, like he did a lot of just everything else. You know, he's playing pretty good. defense. He got a couple blocks, you know. And then I had one question on the football
Starting point is 00:49:05 side. Okay. All right. So Stoops, if I remember from the morning broadcast early in the year, after the vacated losses from the 10-win season, he lost
Starting point is 00:49:20 the all-time winning record. Yes. So I don't know did he overtake that again at I think he did, yeah. I think because he passed it last year when we beat Youngstown State, which was early in the year, and then we went ahead and won another like five games.
Starting point is 00:49:42 Well, you know what? He may not have, actually. He might have to win tomorrow to pass it, actually. I don't know for sure, but it might literally be tomorrow that he would do it if he won. All right. So to my point, like, do you think, or how do I say this? You think that would be a factor in him coming back or leaving?
Starting point is 00:50:06 No, I don't. To me, I would want to leave as the all-time winning as coach. Yeah, I don't think that's going to have anything to do with it. You know, everyone tells me, and I appreciate the call, everyone tells me that he'll be back. Everyone that would know thinks he's going to come back. There are a lot of people that tell me he's almost more resolute to come back. now than at any point in the last year.
Starting point is 00:50:32 I mean, I thought a month ago he was probably not going to come back. I don't know what the change is. I think there's a lot. Part of why I'm not confident about tomorrow is I just have heard a lot of stuff that I, I just don't like the vibes. And I think we will find out a lot over the next five to six days. and I don't know what's going to happen. I really don't.
Starting point is 00:51:00 I mean, it's what, what is it? It's Friday night. Next Friday, when we are in probably Boise, Idaho, and we're doing a show, I think the Kentucky football program could look drastically different than it does right now. And I think it could be in many different directions.
Starting point is 00:51:21 Like many different directions. Many different directions. Many different coaches, many different players. I mean, the whole program could look 10 different ways next Friday. And I don't know what's going to happen. And I think part of it depends on what happens tomorrow. So when we do this postgame show tomorrow, like, it could go a lot of different directions based on what happens tomorrow. So if we win, I plan on doing the postgame show probably at the bar.
Starting point is 00:51:52 if we lose, I'm probably not because I think those are two different conversations based on whether we win and lose and how much. It's just going to be, tomorrow is a huge, huge day for the future of UK football all around, not just on the field, but everywhere. And I don't know what's going to happen.
Starting point is 00:52:14 I'll be honest. Be fascinating, though. Who's next? Bill. Bill. Go ahead, Bill. Hey, Matt. I got a question and a comment, please. Wasn't there a commentator for ESPN that goes crazy for the ice cream cones?
Starting point is 00:52:31 Yeah, that's Jay Billis. Or am I imagining that? Yeah, Jay Billis, he loves the ice cream, yeah. Do you think Mark Pope would ever buy, if he heard Jay Billis wanted an ice cream cone? Do you think he would be that kind of guy? Like, I think he would buy Jay Billis and ice cream cone just to be nice. Of course, yeah. Of course he would.
Starting point is 00:52:49 He also, they give it to Jay Billis, usually for the publicity. But yes, he certainly would. Okay. My comment was, if you ever do decide to go to Blue Sky, apparently someone has already squatted over your handle that you would use on Twitter. Yeah, I heard that. I heard that. Yeah, I'd probably pick another one.
Starting point is 00:53:10 But, you know, that's what, that's another thing. Somebody, I mean, people tell me it's so much nicer. Somebody already took the name I would use over there. So what am I supposed to do? I mean, you know. I mean, I'm young brands over there. So, I mean, you got to get them when you can. Wait a minute.
Starting point is 00:53:27 You took Yumb Brand's Blue Sky account? Sure, why not? Well, now you see why. I mean, it was there. All right. I mean, but at least I didn't take your name. Well, that's true, but you did the same thing somebody did to me. Well, I mean, they got more money than you do.
Starting point is 00:53:46 I would assume. Well, thanks a lot. All right. I appreciate the call. Look at that. make them buy it is that smart yeah i feel like that's smart i feel like like like people would want to like if they want to hear from young brands don't they want to know it's young brands and not that guy yeah that's why they got to pay up so they get their name correct i don't i don't make
Starting point is 00:54:08 the rules we just follow them you know well you know when it when it was the internet you weren't you're not you know you're not allowed to do that with domain names what's that like if you squat on a domain name, there's a law that basically can allow someone to get it. If you get bored someday, you're a Tampa Bay Bucks fan, right? The famous case on this is about Warren Sapp. Love Warren. There was a guy, just a regular guy who was named Warren Sapp, and he in the early days of the internet bought Warrensap.com.
Starting point is 00:54:44 And I'm not kidding you. And then Warren Sapp, the football player. was like, I want Warrensap.com. He would buy it from this other dude name Warren. The guy said no. And they went to court. And Warren Sapp argued, look, when the general public wants to find out about Warren Sapp, they don't want to just see this dude, you know, in Minnesota.
Starting point is 00:55:11 And the court ruled for football player Warren Sapp. Was the other Warren Sap like making content doing anything? with the website? No. He was hoping one day the football player Warren Sapp would pay. Oh, okay. See, I...
Starting point is 00:55:25 And basically they said it's in the public's interest if Warrensap.com is the Warren Sapp people want to know, not just you. But that doesn't yet apply to social media. Yeah, I don't like that rule. There's a rule. But then you'd want to rule
Starting point is 00:55:45 where everybody just buys up everybody's names. They already do it with houses. I can't buy a house. house nowadays because all the bots are buying houses. That has nothing to do with what we're talking about houses. There's an infinite supply of houses. There's not an infinite supply of domain names. Apples and oranges, Matt.
Starting point is 00:56:05 Okay, thank you, Billy. Four more. Who's next? Jordan. There's your legal issue for the day. Jordan, go ahead, Jordan. Hey, Matt, how are you? I'm good.
Starting point is 00:56:17 So I want to point out one thing. So I was blessed to be able to go to the game the past two games about three hours early to get myself prepared to present the American flag for the game. The one thing that I noticed through the presentation of everything, Lamont Butler gets out on the court about three hours early. There's nobody else out there with him. He's the only person out there on the court. That's a true leader. That kid is awesome. I mean, you can't beat a leader like that.
Starting point is 00:56:50 Like he's out there by himself, just shooting three. He's got somebody out there, you know, passing the ball back to him, shooting a shot, getting his shots up. Travis Perry is always the next person to come out about an hour later. And then after that, the rest of the team comes out and just warms up. I really love that out of a leader. I just wanted to give a shout out for a Mont Butler for that because that's awesome. I didn't know that.
Starting point is 00:57:14 That's good to know. I appreciate to. call. Over the years, you know, there are guys. I go back to the first person I remember that would do that consistently was Brandon Knight. He was always the first guy out his year. And it's usually the case that the first guy out tends to be one of your hardest workers and your leaders. So it's, it's cool to see that Lamont Butler is that as well. Georgia scored. So now Georgia Tech has a chance. They already have a false start. I mean, like there's zero chance. against Georgia's tech scores here, right?
Starting point is 00:57:49 Yeah, it's probably over now. They gave up a 14-point lead. Like, this is going to be one of the great, you know, losses in Georgia Tech history, but they're losing this game. Who's next? Jake. Jake, go ahead, Jake. Hey, Matt.
Starting point is 00:58:07 He's on our way home from the game tonight. Got seats in the eruption zone. First time ever, it was great. But I heard the Louisville caller call in, and actually I work with Alan and I'm pretty sure his hatred of UK stems for me just a little bit. So last year he gave me crap all year
Starting point is 00:58:26 leading up to the UK football game last year. So when we won, I went into where we worked and I posted signs all over the building everywhere he went, blared the UK fight song over the loudspeakers and gave him crap for a month. So I got to get my house. I want a shout out.
Starting point is 00:58:47 So you think you made him so mad that he's going to blow cigar smoke in his dad's face? Oh, most definitely. I give him crap every time we beat him in the last. I've been working with him for three or four years now. Oh, yeah, every time we win. So you've gotten him a bunch of times. Two times a year. Well, I hope you get him tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:59:10 I'm a little concerned about it, but I hope you get him tomorrow. I'm going to bring him some mayonnaise. All right. I appreciate you. Thank you. Appreciate it. We'll do three more. By the way, tomorrow we open at 9 at the bar, but our pregame show starts at 8.
Starting point is 00:59:27 So you can turn it on to listen at 8. I'll talk a lot more about the football stuff tomorrow that I was talking about a minute ago during the pregame show. And then if you come to the bar, my manager will not allow me to let you in. I was like, can we have people come in? And she was like, no. and I guess, you know, Moni, I guess, Billy, she's, I guess, in charge. So I have to, I have to go away. She said, no.
Starting point is 00:59:53 So we will open the doors at 9 o'clock. We are having serving breakfast, though, so it should be good. Who's next? Landon. Landon. Landon, go ahead, Landon. Hey, what's up, Matt? What's going on?
Starting point is 01:00:09 Just wanted to tell the fan base to enjoy the wins and want to ask you a question. How do you think we can keep balancing Kentucky? success without pinning the issues on Cal, like the past two slow starts, everybody saying, oh, Kyle wouldn't have won that game. You know, how do we as a fan base try and move past them enjoy this time we're in right now? It'll happen after this year. I mean, you can't, you know, that's like saying to people, like, it's just not human nature, okay?
Starting point is 01:00:45 Like, it's not human nature when there's a rivalry to not for some time, people. period, compare what is happening with what was happening. I think after this year, that will stop happening. But I think this is the year that it's natural. Until the tournament is over this year, we are going to be comparing ourselves to Arkansas and vice versa. It's just going to happen. I mean, you can say we shouldn't,
Starting point is 01:01:13 and you might even be right, but it's going to happen. Appreciate the call. I mean, I, well, I mean, go ahead. He's gone. Oh, yeah, you hang up quick. I will say that. I mean, I don't, it's just going to be how it is, right? Like, it's in human nature.
Starting point is 01:01:35 He was the coach here. I think after this year, it won't happen. But I think this year there's not going to be anything you can do about it. Like the, when, when Biden got elected president, the Biden people were, you know, it's better than when Trump was president. and vice versa. And it's going to happen this year with the Trump people and the Biden. Like, it's going to happen.
Starting point is 01:01:56 But then people move on. Like, how much do people now, Billy, talk about Obama or Bush? Like, everybody moves on at some point. Yep. You're right. But we're going, it's just going to be what's going to happen this year. So that's the way it is. What's next?
Starting point is 01:02:11 Georgia Tech scored a touchdown. I saw that. But it should have gone for two. Yeah. Wouldn't you have gone for two? Yes. We got on the road. Go for two.
Starting point is 01:02:19 All right. What's next? Big lead. Two calls. Stevie. Stevie. Go ahead, Stevie. Hey, Matt.
Starting point is 01:02:26 Could not be happier with the trajectory of this team heading into 2025. The non-conference schedule that's great. So Big Blue Nation, we got a great season ahead of us. And for you, Billy and Ryan, how's that Trinity win taste tonight? Hala. I don't even know who they play. Oh, they played Douglas, right. I was kind of for you all tonight because I didn't want to deal with having to get Ryan to the airport in Boise and fly him home.
Starting point is 01:02:58 Because I also know how Ryan is, Billy. I was going to end up paying for that flight. He can say he was going to pay for it, but I was going to end up having to pay for it. And so I was kind of pulling for Trinity, not going to lie to you. Big win for you tonight. Yeah. So this was probably a $500 win for me tonight. So go Trinity.
Starting point is 01:03:15 All right. Let's finish up. Who's next? Luke. go ahead Luke that just want to say another great win uh mark pope is amazing that just leaving his credit card there is
Starting point is 01:03:29 is just awesome i mean obviously he makes a ton of money but still he doesn't have to do that and to see a guy do something like that to me is awesome that's a guy that genuinely cares about fans and genuinely cares about us and genuinely wants to be here and wants to win here and I'm very, very excited for that, obviously. I mean, how could you not be with everything that's happened so far? I mean, the only slight nitpick I could possibly have just to be that guy,
Starting point is 01:03:57 I don't necessarily understand why this team doesn't full court press more, especially with Butler and Oway, because they're so long and so explosive and so good at just being explosive to the ball on defense. I mean, that would be my only slight nitpick. But again, when you win by 30 points, I don't really think you have a whole lot of room to complain. And I'm sure. Hang on a second.
Starting point is 01:04:20 I didn't understand what you. I didn't understand what your complaint was. You were saying what now? Why this team doesn't full court press a little bit more. Again, I guess when you're up by a million points, it doesn't matter. I think the answer is pretty. Here's the thing about full court press. And Rick Petito at Louisville was the one that sort of talked about this.
Starting point is 01:04:44 You full court press for the most part when you're, not as good as everybody else because it changes the pace, et cetera. But when you play – Petino used to say when you play fast, you get the extra possessions that you have with a full court, but you don't give up the layups. And I think that's why they don't do it. I mean, I think they'll do it a little bit, but you don't want to do that if you're Mark Pope –
Starting point is 01:05:09 because you don't want to give up the layups because your half-court defense is good. Like if our half-court defense stuck, I would agree with you. But our half-court defense is pretty good. and we play fast enough that we're able to get the possessions without pressing. So I think that's why we don't do it. And he might also be saving that for something later in the season. And also I think one other reason, the game has changed because big men are better handling the ball.
Starting point is 01:05:34 Totally agree. So I think that's also part of it too. So yeah, you make a good point there. That's a great point right there. All five guys on most teams, I appreciate the call four guys, if not five, can dribble the ball. when we were pressing in the 90s, that wasn't really true. You could press a lot of teams, and they'd often have two guys in who couldn't dribble. So really it was like you were putting four dudes on three.
Starting point is 01:05:59 It's not really like that anymore. I mean, look at our team. Amari Williams can bring it up, although Billy, I don't love when he does it. He could if he had to in a given situation. Hey, big win for Kentucky tonight. Georgia Tech just scored. They got to go for two here. Now, before we go off, I'm going to call this two-point conversion,
Starting point is 01:06:17 because they should have done this the first time. Yeah, this would be to win. If they had done this the first time, this would be to win. So if they get this, then they would have won. If they don't get this, Billy, then they would have lost. This is the, if I were coach with Georgia Tech have won. Here we go. Throws it, nearly picked off.
Starting point is 01:06:36 She's. Nearly picked off and run back. Georgia really had scouted that play because he was in the backfield. They knew what was coming. They had two guys ready to pick that off. So, yeah, let's not, maybe I shouldn't coach. All right, I will see you tomorrow morning, 8 a.m. right here on these same stations.
