Hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her. What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue 42.

Welcome, everyone.
It is the local Toyota Dealer's KSR postgame show for the second straight time this season.
Kentucky comes back from 14 points or more down to win against Tennessee and sweep the season series.
absolute thrillers, the cats win 74-71. I met Jones, 859, 280, 2287. Ryan Lemon is in Lexington.
I am in San Francisco. So we literally, I have Billy and Mario and Drew waiting outside my room
because we are about to go to this Super Bowl party tonight, but I couldn't leave here without
talking a little bit about this game, Ryan. It was an exciting victory. Yet another one where we
fall way behind yet another one where we have a ton of grit to come back and yet another great
night for Kentucky in a really bizarre but fun season. I guess we should get to the point where we
we should learn that hey they got a lot of fighting in that second half. Don't give up on them because
once again at half time I found myself okay. They're about to get run. Tennessee was hitting
everything. They're down 14 points at home on their home floor. But once again they showed a lot of
fight, bring it back, get that win. It was unbelievable.
I mean, first of all, you got to give the credit to this team for its heart.
I mean, they are, I do not think this is not the most talented team in the world,
but this is a team that plays hard and has, since they've had all these injuries,
they've had to find their roles.
They've had to find exactly what they're going to do, all these guys that play.
And, you know, now it's basically down to a nine-man rotation.
A lot of the times it's kind of down to.
seven and the seven guys that play, they each play through their weaknesses.
And I give them a lot of credit.
They have completely sort of outperformed where I thought they would be after the injuries
led to three players going out.
And 18 and 7, 8 and 3 in the SEC, two wins against Tennessee, one at Arkansas.
So I just want to go over a few things before I hand it to Ryan to take everybody's calls.
We were going to have Ryan's guy Carl Ravich on.
He wanted to come on, but we went too late.
You would have been excited, Ryan.
That's your guy.
I love Carl Ravich.
I was so excited.
He wanted to come on.
He wanted to come on.
Well, he said it got too late.
I understand.
The 96 team went a little while, so he couldn't wait anymore.
But a few things to talk about.
I think the key to this game was down the stretch.
Obviously, Kentucky fell down early.
Came back.
You know, it was kind of a rock fight in the middle of the same.
second half. But guys play. So you start with Otega O'Way. You know, in the first half, even though he
had 12 points, I kind of was disappointed in how he played, especially defensively, not in the
second half. I mean, I thought the way, the decisions he made, the reverse layup to take the lead,
and then the pass to Colin Chandler for that three. Obviously, Chandler, huge making the shot.
He's made big shots and big plays all year.
But that pass, there is a time O.A. would have taken that to the basket.
Maybe he had drawn a foul.
Maybe he would have gotten blocked.
He made the right read.
And also clearly had trust in Colin Chandler to give him that opportunity.
And Colin was buckets.
And then on the very next play, he runs back on defense, guards Nate A. Mint, makes him take a tough shot in which he is in his face and he misses.
And that starts the process that leads to Kentucky winning the game.
You got to give away a lot of credit.
There are times that sometimes I sit there and go, man, I know you can give more,
but then there are times that he gives more as much as anybody that's played here.
It's not always 100%, but he comes through in the clutch,
and I was really proud of him tonight in how he performed.
Obviously, Colin Chandler hits a shot.
Huge three, one of the, you know,
You get a look like that.
If you miss it, the team probably loses the game.
I mean, if he misses that shot, Kentucky loses.
He makes it, they win.
Massive shot.
And like I said, you go back to the Tennessee game in Knoxville,
where he got the steal, the pass against LSU.
He's done this all year long.
I thought Aberdeen was good again, making good decisions.
They now will put the ball in his hands at these end-of-game situations,
and I think so far he's done the right thing,
and he made free throws.
He made the free throws that cut the game to one,
and then he made the free throws that basically put the game away.
At the end, you know, you need guys who make them.
And some of the other guys had struggled.
Malachi Moreno, I thought, had a couple big plays.
Diabate's rebound.
I don't know how Tennessee lets him get that rebound.
But that's a huge rebound and the presence of mind to get rid of the ball
because he's not a great free throw shooter.
And to get it to Chandler, who ended up missing,
but still that is a massive rebound that Kentucky might not win if he doesn't make.
So all of those guys making plays down their stretch, Ryan, without having the star power.
And I think I said at halftime, Kentucky doesn't have a guy like Nate Ament who can go for 29.
They don't have a guy like the game before we saw with Caleb Wilson.
All these guys have to contribute if they're going to succeed, and tonight they did.
I'm glad you mentioned No Way's Pass because I put a big star by it on my notes because we're all going to remember Colin Chandler hitting that shot.
Wait a minute. You took notes?
I've got game notes here for a.
Oh, I love it. I love a ride limit.
But go ahead.
You know, he dries down in traffic because underneath the basket.
He's kind of in trouble.
And yet that pass, he made kind of a backhanded pass to find a wide open Colin Chandler.
You're right.
That was amazing.
And he doesn't get enough credit for what he did defensively against A-Cuff against Arkansas.
and then the second half today against Gillespie.
They made the switch at halftime put Chandler on.
Yeah, well, both those guys.
Yeah.
O.A. did a great job on Gillespie.
And then I thought Chandler held his own on A-Mint.
You wouldn't necessarily have thought that was a matchup that would have gone Kentucky's way.
And even though A-Mint scored, I thought he limited, he made him take hard twos.
Now, he made a couple, but he made him take difficult shots.
And Ryan, I think when you consider he had 19 in the first half,
If you told me at halftime, okay, he'll only get 10 in the second half.
You take that all the time.
Yeah, it wasn't working O.A. on A.N. in the first half.
So he made the switch.
And Colin Chandler's credit, you know, a couple big defensive stops.
I think he kind of frustrated A.man a little bit.
And Gillespie was a non-factor the whole second half.
So Oway.
He really, he just completely disappeared.
And it was weird because Kentucky got completely out rebounded and physical through most of the game.
But they scored more points in the paint, which is a weird.
dichotomy, but it worked out.
I thought the Rupp crowd in the second half was amazing.
I mean, the only thing that has bummed me out about this trip is having to miss that game in Rupp Arena,
because I am sure it was an awesome environment.
You know, it's hard for these games to sound loud on ESPN because the way they put the mics in Rupp.
I never think it sounds loud.
It actually sounded loud, Ryan, a few times tonight.
And it looked like the crowd was into.
to it and I think it made a difference.
You could see a couple of Tennessee guys, especially the non-A-Met guys.
When the other guys had to shoot, you could just see, Ryan, the environment, I think, was having
an effect on them.
KS. Bar has always been a good barometer for we think what the crowd's going to be like at Rupp.
It was packed at 2.30 this afternoon and was packed all the way up until tip-off.
And usually we have tickets kind of floating around.
People want us to get away.
No tickets.
No tickets.
None today.
Everybody wanted to go to that game.
This is what you want.
I mean, it's a Saturday night game.
against your rival.
They obviously brought out the denim.
I liked the denim.
I thought they looked really good.
I thought it was great that they made that comeback in front of the 96 team.
It was cool hearing.
A lot of those guys right here on the post-game show.
Just an awesome night.
You know, an awesome Kentucky basketball BBN kind of night,
which is what you want.
At the end of the day, we are Kentucky fans, four nights like that.
this. I don't know how good this team is in the bigger picture. They still have weaknesses.
They still do things sometimes that will drive you crazy. You keep thinking you can't keep
falling down by these huge margins and coming back. But even with all that said, I love the
way they fight. I love how hard they play. I love that they don't quit. And I also love that,
I mean, this is a group who you go back to the non-conference.
There were all kinds of issues at play.
It didn't seem to like each other.
You never knew who was going to play in a game.
Then you had these injuries.
It was this and that.
It has now shifted to a different thing.
And I think you can say that virtually every player on the team is playing better now than they were then.
And that's what you want.
That's what you ask your coach to do.
Can you get the best out of what you have?
And when you consider who's on the floor for Kentucky in these situations,
Ryan, I think Mark has done an amazing job at getting this team to play at this level.
Do you wish you had other players?
Sure.
Do you wish these guys hadn't gotten hurt?
Sure.
But to have Denzel Aberdeen, who's not a point guard, be your point guard,
to have Colin Chandler regain his confidence,
to have Malachi Moreno develop into an NBA prospect,
before your eyes.
To have Yellovich go from not playing to end up being a starter and making big plays,
to find a way to demote Diabate and Garrison but still get productive stuff out of them.
And then O'Way to go from kind of what was a disappointing first half into the season we had hoped he would have.
I just think it's been, it's really, I give Mark a lot of credit.
I mean, I thought it was a poor performance coaching in the first half of the year.
But to flip it around and to be eight and three at this point in the SEC, you got to give him a salute.
And I think to continue your narrative, you know, Trent Noah, a guy that didn't even play like the first three SEC games, I think.
And now he gets to be major minutes.
Well, he loves playing in Tennessee, doesn't he?
He does.
You're right.
He is a Tennessee killer.
You grow up in Harlan County.
That's what will happen.
I think, you know, they now know who their roster, who it is, who they are, whether, you know,
they know the responsibilities.
I think they just go out and just playing now.
I'm not looking on their shoulder thinking they may get,
especially for Aberdeen.
Aberdeen's a guy that I told you,
he's one of my least favorite players in a long time.
Now I love the guy.
I do love him.
I love the way he plays.
I love he has, I think not worrying about having to do something
to keep from getting pulled has made it to where he doesn't force the issue
as much as he did.
And he's a very good defender.
And I think that's made him.
him be really, really effective.
So it's an awesome win.
Bigger picture.
Seven more games left in the regular season.
You know, there was a time three weeks ago that I didn't think it was assured they would
make the tournament.
Now, absent a complete collapse, they will make the tournament.
As long as they win one or two more, I think they'll be fine.
Now, the schedule's hard.
These last seven games, you play Florida ice, okay?
You play at Auburn.
You play at Texas.
him, you host Georgia, this is a tough, tough stretch coming. But you look at those games and I would
say, all right, there might not be many games that I could say, we're definitely going to win.
But I also don't think there's any games you can count this team out on. At Florida will be
difficult, but the rest of them, why not? If you keep playing like this and you keep playing hard,
and then you get in the tournament and you see what the matchup is. Whatever the matchup is,
if it's the right one,
they'll have a chance to fight and be in it at the end.
859-280-2287.
Ryan, we are about to get in a car
and go to this Sports Illustrated party.
I am exhausted, by the way.
I don't have these young guys,
Mario and...
Well, not Drew so much, but Mario and Billy.
Drew and I have been like the parents
having to babysit them over the course of the last 48 hours.
But I'm going to let you handle it for the rest of the night.
and congrats to the BBN on a win.
And Ryan, real fun evening.
I got to ask you one question.
Apparently, you've been quite the topic on a Tony Basileo show tonight.
Any comment?
Yeah, I listened to a little bit of it.
You know, look for him.
Listen, he said that I didn't have any talent.
That's fine.
You know, luckily he's not in charge of deciding these things.
The audience is in charge, and I think those numbers speak for themselves.
but I like that he gets worked up.
I appreciate the passion.
He did say he was going to kick Jimmy Dykes in the crotch.
I think that's a little far.
I don't think he should do that.
I think that the people listening are BBN because I get all these messages.
He said this about KSR.
He said this about that.
Yeah, listen, he's, what, that's fine.
I got no problem with Tony.
Go do your thing, Tony Vasilio.
And you all do your thing.
Ryan, thank you for coming in.
Enjoy the rest of the evening.
And a big shout out to Liam,
who's filling in there, who's done a good job tonight as well.
We'll take a break when we come back.
Ryan Limon will take your calls.

Welcome back, the local total heroes KSR postgame show.
The Cats of 74-71 winner over those stinking Tennessee volunteers.
My goodness.
Goodness, when are we going to learn not to give up on this team?
Down by 14 in the first half.
Again, they were down by 17, down in Knoxville, came back to win.
Down 16 in Arkansas came back to win.
Down 14 the night, come back to win.
It's the largest halftime deficit that would come back for a win in UK in Lexington ever.
Not just Rupp Arena in the old historic Memorial Coliseum, ever.
They've never been down by more than 14 and come back and win the game.
They did it tonight.
Come on, Liam, they're going to win the night.
the 96 teams there.
They're wearing denim uniforms
are crying out loud.
Pope's daughters dancing with the dance team.
Of course they're going to win tonight, right?
It was magic in the air tonight, Ryan.
You could feel, especially when they came back in the second half,
they slowly chipped and chipped away at the lead.
And then eventually when they were able to take the lead again,
I had faith.
They went down three points.
It didn't feel like the end of the world.
It really felt like this team was still ready there.
I was confident, even when they were down three late in the game.
Like Matt said, just the heart and the effort.
And the fight in this team is really kind of come out of nowhere.
You know, we're not that far away when they started the SEC O and 2.
Now they've lost, now they've won eight out of the next nine.
They started O and two.
They've won eight of nine in the SEC.
Amazing what they've been able to do.
But they've got a tough one, like Matt said,
some tough games coming up.
Kind of got a buy week this week.
They don't play during midweek.
One week away to play Florida.
They just, Florida just dismantled Texas A&M tonight at Texas A&M.
It's going to be tough.
going to Florida trying to win this game.
But I like where we are.
I like my chances and I like my team now.
I couldn't have said that about a month or so ago,
but I like my team.
So phone lines are open.
859, 280, 2287.
We already got a full bank of callers right now.
We're going to get through as many as we can.
So who we got first, Liam?
Jelly.
Jelly.
Go ahead, Jelly.
Hey, Ryan, first time, long time.
Oh, appreciate it.
All right.
What you got tonight?
I think that I was the good luck for the game.
I proposed my now fiancé today.
she said yes right before the game.
Oh, jelly.
Well done.
How did you do it and where did you do it?
We live in Cincinnati now.
So we actually went to northern Kentucky for the proposal,
but on an overlook over the skyline and it was great.
Wow.
Watch the game, won.
Are you going to give her a chance to say anything?
Yeah, here she is.
right now.
Oh, my gosh.
I said yes.
We want to hear from you.
Do you accept it?
So what's your name?
His name is Jelly.
Are you peanut butter?
No, he's Kelly.
I'm Leslie.
Kelly.
Well, congratulations, Leslie.
Thank you.
I guess you're a UK fan for life now.
Yeah, married into it.
There we go.
Well, congratulations.
Appreciate the phone call.
So there we go, Liam.
What a night.
You come from behind to beat your rival, Tennessee.
And Jelly and Kelly and Peanut Butter,
all got engaged today.
Love is in the air.
Love is in the air.
Valentine's Day is next weekend.
Valentine's Day is a week from today.
Well played, Jelly.
Nice job.
Right.
Who we got next?
Lee.
Lee, go ahead, Lee.
Hey, Ryan.
What's up?
What's up, Lee?
How awesome was that?
Go cat.
I love it.
Matt kind of addressed a couple of things I was going to say at first and not being critical
or nothing but everything.
But I've been hearing y'all say,
last week or two weeks.
I don't know if this team is good.
I don't know.
Well, I think you're finding out
they're pretty damn good,
and I think people are finding out
that Mark Pope is a pretty damn good coach,
and what are you doing with this team
with all these injuries?
It's pretty, daggone remarkable.
And I don't ever feel like we're out of a game.
We're eight and three second in the league.
I mean, what do you say?
How do you feel about them now?
Appreciate it, Lee.
You're absolutely right about a couple of things.
All the questions people were having about Mark Pope,
people wanting him even gone after this year, gone right now.
He's not the man for the job.
We need to get rid of him.
I hope they're reevaluating that right now,
because what this man is able to do, not just this year,
but two years in a row now,
adjusting his roster, his style of play,
the way they play,
because injuries just decimating some of his star players,
it's been amazing.
And what they've done this year, yeah,
the Gonzaga game was awful.
The Vanderbilt game was awful.
But you're right.
They're now sitting here, eight and three in the SEC, have a legit shot to, you know, get that double buy in the SEC tournament, which is kind of what you want anyway.
So I think Pope does deserve a lot of credit.
What do you think, Liam?
I had a lot of doubt at the beginning of the year.
I think a lot of people did.
But year one, Mark Pope accomplished what I wanted to see.
We were tired to lose it in the first weekend.
We wanted to see the second weekend.
We got to the second weekend.
You played team three times.
It's hard to beat them three times.
I'd hate to play Tennessee in the tournament again this year because I'm not sure I'd be as confident.
That's true.
We grinded out two wins in the regular season, and we are where we're at right now.
A lot of positive momentum right now building each week.
The team has really just gelled.
It's the energy, the team, everything was a total collapse at the beginning of the year.
Nothing felt right plugging triangles and circles.
But now it just feels like a well-oiled machine.
People are finding their roles.
And I think that's the biggest part the roles players have on this team.
And to back up something else, Lee said,
Mark Pope owns Tennessee.
He's played him five times.
now won four of five swept them in the regular season last year swept them in the regular season
this year of course like you said they did lose to him in the sweet 16 but lamont buller got hurt didn't
even play that game he got hurt like right before that game so uh yeah mark pope deserves a lot of credit
and i hope the people that were so anti-poop are coming back into the canoe a little bit who we got
next dave dave go ahead dave how you doing fellows how are you dave no none good raid just
up at nancy suites and just got to watch the game
went to the game and enjoyed it.
It was great.
One of the best environments I've seen in college in the UK in a long time.
We mentioned that, you know, how there were no tickets available.
Usually Matt and I get tickets to kind of give away to fans that they're not going.
They want to put them in the hands of somebody who can go.
But even Jack Evans after the game, Tom Leach after the game, everybody talked about the environment inside Rupp Arena was awesome.
That's what makes Rupp Arena special.
It's a big game.
It's rocking like nowhere else.
It was really crazy.
I mean, I've been to a lot of games with Billy Clyde and all of Rick,
and this is probably towards the end there that when everybody was yelling.
That was probably one of the loudest I've ever heard.
It was really, really and exciting.
I don't have a lot of healthy issues, so I'm just glad that I could go there and enjoy this
and love the cats and go, and we're going to go.
So thanks for taking my call, Ryan.
Appreciate it, Dave.
Yeah, a lot of people that went to the game kind of talking about how the environment was just great.
Like I said, man, the 96 teams there, one of the greatest teams in the history of college basketball.
you're honoring that team you're wearing denim uniforms of course you're going to have a good crowd
you want that crowd to play a part in the game the night and it did who we got next claire
claire go ahead claire hi ryan first time long time all right claire bring it tonight what do you got for us
so i was born and raised an ohio state fan but my fiance converted me to a wildcat and i have two
questions for you.
All right.
You are his landlord at one point when he was in Lexington.
No way.
And he wants me to ask you, what is your favorite wild eggs menu item?
The wild eggs menu item is the breakfast tots.
It's the potato head casserole.
They cut it up into like little tots.
And it's not only think it's on the menu, you've got to ask for it.
Breakfast tots.
That's what you want to get.
Okay.
So I'll try that the next time we are in Lexington.
All right.
My next question for you is, do you think Colin is going to be our star, the remainder of the season?
Okay, I'll answer that question, but before you hang up, what's your husband's name if I was his landlord?
His name is Dave Holmes.
Dave Holmes?
Yes, you know, die-hard Kentucky fans.
Well, we appreciate you, Colin, and good luck in your marriage.
You said you're engaged, so good luck.
All right, Colin Chandler, the man.
has become Mr. Clutch.
We know we've talked
at Nazim about it.
You know, he made the pass at LSU
to Malachi to hit the shot.
He made the still against Tennessee
and then dribbled and found
O'Way for the layup.
He hit the big shot against Arkansas.
He hit a big shot tonight.
He has become our go-to
Mr. Clutch guy.
But yet he stepped to the free throw line
tonight to put the game away and he missed the free throw.
A 90% free throw shooter and he missed it.
Thank goodness Mohamed Diabate.
got the rebound.
Aberdeen then hit two free throws to put the game away.
But, I mean, Colin's a guy, I think, that struggled early, lost a little confidence,
and now he's got as much confidence as anybody.
He's a killer out there right now.
Yeah, Goose said at the end of the, when he missed the free throws, he's going to have to have
to have some words with Colin because he already put two down on the scorecard.
Well, yeah, he's 90%.
You think, okay, this is who we want at the foul line.
It's Colin Chandler.
But, yeah, he's become a superstar.
And one guy we haven't mentioned yet
that provided a great spark was Jasper Johnson.
Came in, made a three, made a tough shot,
made a couple great passes.
Stoves stuck his nose, dove on the floor a couple times
after loose balls.
He provided a spark in that first half
when Tennessee was like starting to run away
with the basketball game.
That's what I'm meant talking about
when I feel like these guys are finding their roles.
Last couple weeks, him and Garrison
are really finding a spot on the team.
They're not the star player,
but they're stepping up and making big time plays
and big time moments. It's the little things. Diving on the floor.
You hit a bucket here and there. Don't let
the lead get out of hand. You keep chipping away,
chipping away by making the little plays.
Rome wasn't built in a day. You know, brick by brick,
Ryan. Oh, my goodness. Philosophy by
Liam Tomlinson right here. Who we got
next? Badger.
Badger. Go ahead, Badger.
You guys, how's it going?
How are you going to come in?
Dude, I mean, an awesome match
of this, right? Four and one
against Tennessee under Pope.
It's always a great day.
Would you beat them, especially Chris Lotham being in the building?
And that's my old Mason County classmate.
Love you, bro.
But everybody that played tonight contributed to the team.
It was a complete, gritty team win.
Of course, we got out rebounded.
We had, I think we had a big foul disparity at one point, too.
I think it closed the gap.
But, you know, Noah came in and actually, you know, he rebounded.
He didn't hit a shot.
He rebounded.
He played actually really good on ball defense.
Everyone contributed.
We rebounded when we had to.
When we had to get a stop, we got to stop.
We got a block.
And that was just a complete victory.
Go big blue.
Go cats.
Cast by 90.
Love my team.
Love my squad.
Appreciate a badger.
I think there's a lot of team that are like that.
Maybe we're a little doubting this team.
Now we're falling in love with this team because of the heart.
in the fight coming from behind and all these wins of course you're going to fall in love with
this team so a great night to be downtown lexton by the way was rocking it took me a little
well to get here because man there are cars and people walking everywhere because everybody
stayed to the very end the game no nobody wanted to leave that game uh to see how it's going
to end up so uh i hope everybody's partying safely tonight because here we are at one o'clock in
the morning and it's still crowded and crazy outside all right we'll take our take a break we'll
come back we'll go back the phone lines 859-280 2-287 that's 859 2802cats ryan and leum
here on the local 30 leaders KSR post game show.

Life becomes about wins and losses. Steve Burns, Dustin,
Ross because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth or are you a good

Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.

What's up, guys?
This is Clivert Taylor the Fourth.
And on my podcast, The Clifford Show, I'm bringing you conversations about all kinds of stuff.
Like being an internet famous referee.
We're in the middle of a game.
This linebacker, this linebacker walks up to me.
He goes, hey, ref, my mom wants you to wave at her.
What?
Time out.
Quarterback on office blue 42.
Hey, ref, my mama want you to wave at her.
What?
Hey, Miss Parker.
Listen to the Clifford show on the IHeart Radio ad.

If you're watching the latest season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta,
you already know there's a lot to break down.
Gorsha accusing Kelly of sleeping with a merry man.
They holding Kay Michelle back from fighting Drew.
Pinky has financial issues.
I like the bougie style of Housewives show.
I think it looks like it's going to be interesting.
On the podcast, Reality with the King, I, Carlos King,
recap the biggest moments from your favorite reality shows,
including the Real Housewives franchise, the drama, the alliances, and the T, everybody's talking about.
As an executive producer in reality television, I'm not just watching it, I understand the game.
As somebody who creates shows, I'll even say this.
At the end of the day, when people are at home, they want entertainment.

A winner, 74, 71 over Tennessee, over at Rupp Arena.
After being down 14 points at halftime.
What an amazing, amazing, amazing comfort behind win again for this Kentucky Wildcat basketball team.
They've now won eight of their last nine SEC games, which just blows my mind.
And are now eight and three overall in the conference.
Now, there was another comfort behind win tonight.
Liam and I were sitting here watching it.
North Carolina came from behind on their home floor,
and Seth Trimble hits a last second shot.
beat Duke.
Then the North Carolina fans storm the court.
Now, we would,
UK fans, I think, are ingrained
from the time they're born.
You never, ever, ever stormed the court at Rupp Arena.
You just don't do it.
North Carolina, the deemedone is kind of in that category,
in that conversation at least,
and the fans stormed the court like crazy
when they hit that last second time to be Duke.
So I guess the spontaneity of it,
I can kind of see,
but still even if like Colin Chandler
let's just say that shot he hit was the last second shot
and they came from behind to beat Tennessee tonight
Kentucky fans still would not have stormed the court would they
I don't think in my lifetime and your whole lifetime
the court has ever been stormed never never not in Kentucky not at UK
I think you go to jail for like a year here for that
now we do it at Kroger Field you know that's a little different
you just don't do it at Ruppery you're expected to win every game
And I think at the Dean Dome, you're expected to win, even when it's Duke on the other side.
Yeah, I mean, it's exciting.
The moment's exciting.
You should be hugging everybody around you, maybe like a mosh pit in the crowd.
But getting on to the court, I mean, I get the emotions, get to you.
I was at West Virginia when they defeated Kansas.
That's a place where you storm the court.
Sure, yeah.
Most places you do.
It's a top 10 matchup.
Now, the crazy thing is they had to get everybody off the court and put 0.4 seconds back on the clock
to finish the game.
You give Duke one last chance.
And then they stormed the court a second time.
So he's actually, they stormed it twice tonight.
So I don't know.
I just don't think the Dean Dome and Rupp Arena
and Cameron Indoor,
Kansas Arena,
you just don't do it there.
You're expected to win those games.
They're called Blue Bloods for a reason.
I don't think even Yukon, the New Blood,
I don't think they're storming the court anymore.
You're right. You're expected to win.
All right, 859, 2802, 2, 287.
line up some more phone calls. Who we got, Liam?
Darlene.
Darlene. Go ahead,
Darlene.
Hey, guys.
I mean, it's kind of in the middle of the night,
but I'm so pumped about the game.
Can't go to sleep.
A big UK fan, Harlan County proud,
Trent Noah,
and just happy to be a part of something so special.
Kentucky.
Beating Tennessee again.
It's sweet. I love it.
There's something about Tennessee.
Trent Noah likes because Trent has played well in both games this year against Tennessee.
Yeah, and I mean, we have some great players, but I'll be honest with you.
I was having tears at 141 because we were behind one.
I wanted that game so bad and celebrating just in the middle of the night,
celebrating with you guys, such a special night.
Thank you.
All right, darling.
Appreciate the phone call.
Stay up all night with us.
Why don't you?
Why not?
because it had Kentucky another comfort behind win.
Now you know, you've got to think every game now,
when they get down, you can't give up on them.
Like our boy Andy, everybody knows Andy, our Colorado to KSR.
He gave up at halftime and actually fell, went to sleep.
He woke up after the game to find out there once.
So Andy, I think you learned a lesson tonight, pal.
You got to stay up the whole game with this basketball team.
Who we got next?
Terry in Shepherdsville.
Terry in Shepherdsville.
Go ahead, Terry.
Yeah, it's something.
It may have got lost.
at the last of the game with Chandler's three.
That pass by Oway was unbelievable.
I mean, it seemed like he was kind of caught up.
If you've ever played the game, you get caught, you jump,
and you don't know what you're going to do,
and he throws that pass out there.
Just great, great pass by O'A.
Of course, I know Chandler had to make a shot.
And like everybody else, I was shocked that Chandler missed a free throw,
but Diabate with the rebound and then Aberdeen money at the line.
Just a great, great win.
I know I'm glad we got the week off.
Going down to Florida, that's going to really be tough.
So I hope the fans understand that's going to be almost an impossible game to win.
down there at Florida.
But we,
just great gut check by the guys tonight
and I'll hang up and listen.
I appreciate it, Terry.
Yeah, we did talk about that pass.
And it was just an amazing pass.
You know, you kind of got caught up and no-man zone
and no-man laying down underneath the basket.
And it's almost like he had a backhand, two-handed pass
out to find Chandler out there.
So Terry's right.
Chandler hit the shot, but that pass was just as important.
And then the Moe's offensive rebound after Chandler missed the free throw.
I mean, he was on the left side of the lane,
got the rebound on the right side of the lane.
That's just drinking the wanted juice.
That's just fighting heart right there going after it.
Got it to Aberdeen who got foul and then hit the two free throw shots.
So absolutely.
But it is going to be tough going down to Florida next week.
Florida just dismantled Texas A&M tonight at A&M.
It's going to be tough.
It's one of those games where I'd pencil before the season.
That's in loss, you know.
But you got a week to get ready for them.
So you never know, Liam.
You never know.
Every game in the SEC is tough.
And we should celebrate this win against Tennessee tonight.
because it's special.
We're all looking ahead a little bit.
You're right.
Every game's tough.
You can't overlook Georgia after Florida.
You can't overlook Auburn.
Auburn's been having a great season.
Yeah.
We're on fire right now.
We're a hot team.
If you play against anybody in the country right now,
we're going to battle and fight it out.
We're doing the little things right.
We're winning these close games.
We're winning these rock fights at everyone's saying right now.
This team, I really like where this team is at.
As some coach would say, we're peeking at the right time.
I just love the energy these guys have.
It all just felt so discombobulated,
and that was the issue, but really you can feel the camaraderie with the team.
I think so, too.
The energy is just contagious.
It's good, like, I did not have a doubt when they were down 65, 62 today.
And then you get the Moreno's hook shot.
That was to make it 67, 66, but they made it.
It was a Garrison putback to make it 65, 64.
It just felt like they weren't out of it, at least in my opinion.
I viewed this team so much differently today than I have earlier in the season.
And I just had so much more confidence in them.
I don't know where it's coming from.
I mean, it's because the results are proving themselves.
Yeah.
Well, defense, they played so well the second half.
They eliminated Tennessee to six of 30 shooting.
They took 30 shots and only hit six in the second half.
That's because the job Chandler was doing it on A-M-int
and the job that O.A. was doing on Gillespie.
They had zero three-pointers in the second half.
They had eight in the first half, Tennessee did.
Zero in the second half.
That's because the defense and the changes and the adjustments they made at halftime.
All right, who's next?
Jerry.
Jerry. Go ahead, Jerry.
Jerry. Dustin.
Dustin. Let's try Dustin. Are you there, Dustin?
Yeah, Ryan.
All right, let's go, Dustin.
Yeah, we came down here from Kentucky for my little brother's birthday,
and we're in Knoxville, and we went to Market Square to a sports bar to watch the game,
and I'm telling you, when Colin Chandler hit that three, you've never heard a more silent
sports bar it was so awesome to watch them Tennessee fans after chirping the whole game being up
14 at halftime it was so awesome that I just you can't say anything more about Colin
Chandler like he's so clutch it was fantastic well we appreciate just be careful when you're
leaving because the women might chew tobacco spit and spit it on your shoes you're walking
out of there so just be be careful when you're down walking around in Knoxville 8592802
287, Colin Chandler, yes, he is the, he's Mr. Clutch right now.
Out of all the guys on the team,
O'Reway may be the best offensive player,
but if I need one guy to shoot a bucket,
we need a bucket, it's him.
He's a guy I want to have a ball on his hands.
Tom Leach was calling him Captain Clutch today.
Oh, is that his new nickname, Captain Clutch?
It might be.
Found out Matt said on the pregame show
that Colin Chandler lives is living in Matt's old apartment.
Maybe there's something for that apartment.
Little mojo that Matt left over there for him.
The old apartment?
Matt's old apartment, yeah.
Bairnaked Ladies.
Is that a Bear Naked Ladies song?
Yeah.
I didn't know that.
Bear Naked Ladies also has the theme song for Big Bang Theory.
And I found out that out this week.
All right, let's get one more.
Then we'll take a break.
Who we got?
Bones.
Bones.
Go ahead, Bones.
Man, let me tell you.
Catching Clutch is the killer, first of all.
And second of all, I just want to put it out here on the record.
I work with the Tennessee fan and he has been talking trash all week and I want to say
who is yo daddy?
Mark Pope is their daddy.
That's right, Mark Pope's their daddy and Captain Clutch is the captain of the ship and go cats, baby.
I appreciate it, Bones.
Yeah, Mark Pope owns Rick Barnes and Tennessee, winning them four out of five times.
I'll probably face them again in the SEC tournament.
tournament maybe the NCAA tournament bring it on you know you look at it on paper it's not a great
matchup for us because like who was really going to guard Nate amit going into the game we had
you know that that question came up you know he's the dude is 610 611 we have nobody that can
guard him yet Colin Chandler somehow found a way to disrupt him and make him a little uncomfortable
where he had a bad well he had 10 points but it wasn't like he had the first half he was hitting
everything in the first half
We got time for one more before we take a break.
TJ.
TJ.
Go ahead.
TJ.
Hey, Ron.
How you doing, buddy?
All right.
How are you, TJ?
Good, man.
Hey, look, I just want to say this real quick.
Tennessee, there ain't nothing sucks like a big orange.
I tell you that.
Mark Pope is your daddy.
And I tell you this, he's six and over, y'all as a player.
He's four and one against y'all.
as a coach and y'all might say oh we got the one that counts we beat them in the sweet 16 but what did you do the next game y'all still ain't got no final fours y'all still ain't got no titles and y'all still suck like a big arm there you go tj appreciate it you know uh i do need to tell this story uh rick barnes actually called and ask ksr to come play in their tennessee golf scramble fun
razor golf scramble.
But Rick Barnes said, you guys, you know, it's not like it's going to take all day.
We only, we only play 14 holes.
We never play the final four.
We'll take a break.
Come back.

Final segment, Local Turner Leaders, KSR Postgame Show, Cats a Winner over Tennessee tonight, those stink and
low life Tennessee volunteers 74 71 over at ruperina you know there are certain things in life
Liam you can count on death taxes and the rule of 71 it hit again the night
Kentucky got the rule of 71 that's always a winner most of the time it's a winner and it happened
again the night but I do need to make a correction big blue history on Twitter has reminded me
and he's reminded me this before he is I'm gonna read his tweet 10 years
later, and I still have to remind Ryan Lemon
that UK did indeed storm the court in the past
back in 1973.
Although he's correct, it hasn't happened at Rupp Arena.
It was at Memorial Coliseum back in 1993
when UK beat Tennessee
86, 81 in Memorial Coliseum
to win the SEC.
So what's happened in Lexington,
never happened at Rupp. There you go.
From Big Blue History, and I believe him.
Have they stormed at Alumni, Jim
Anasium or Barker Hall. Do we have any information on those venues?
You know, it's, it's something that's, I can see like, let's just say Colin Chandler,
the shot he hit was at the buzzer and it beats Tennessee,
that come from behind wind.
I can see like the students, the eruption zone just kind of spontaneously spilling on the court.
Although that's probably a big no-no.
Nobody else should do it, but I can kind of see it happening in that situation.
It's just something that shouldn't be done at Rupp Arena.
Yeah, the setup at Rupp makes it a lot more difficult to start.
on the court. So I think that helps a little bit too.
That's true. You got to climb over some of those folks that sit there in the big,
in the expensive seats on the front row. All right,
our final segments of who we got first.
Blake.
Blake. Go ahead, Blake.
Hey, what's up, man?
Balakee. Go ahead, Balakee.
Oh, Kempill.
Hear that all the time it works.
I bet.
I bet.
I actually had the chance to go to the game tonight.
What did you think?
and I turned it down.
You turned what down?
Can you hear me?
Yes.
To go to the game.
Oh, you had a chance to go to the game and you turned it down.
Yeah.
Oh, shame on you, my man.
Oh, that's bad.
That's tough luck.
I know.
You know, yeah, I'm very, very upset with myself.
Shout out to CD boys.
I would have better seats with AJ.
but, you know.
Look at it this way.
I'm proud of the boys.
Maybe the fact you didn't go was a good luck charm.
Maybe you need to stay home and watch all the games.
Maybe your help the team that way.
Man, I stood up from the 1150 mark in the second half.
At a boy.
My wife looked at me like I was crazy.
There we go.
All right. Blake, we appreciate it.
Thank you very much.
I was very quiet.
I had a 20-month-old sitting in the bed.
Yeah.
And I appreciate it, man.
These late games are tough, man.
8.30 tonight.
We had a 9 o'clock game.
I think there's another 8.30 game coming up.
I don't think it's next weekend,
but it's coming up.
There's another 8.30 Saturday night game.
I think we got coming up.
Who's next?
John one.
John one.
Go ahead, John one.
All right.
I'll make it real quick.
I'll make it real quick.
You know how, like, I guess, as fans,
we like to name these Kentucky teams.
Oh, yes.
My favorite right here,
is for me, this is maybe personally, these are the cash money cats because every time they go down,
I hammer that money line, and they always cash me out, dude.
They always cash me out.
I've made so much money on the last five or six game that's not even funny.
I love these boys.
I don't care what anyone says about him.
It's my favorite Kentucky team of all time.
And Ryan, I still owe you some Women'sburg-Derry Quinn.
Oh, you're that guy.
If you come up here during the wintertime, we can get you some chili.
I remember that.
That was like 10 years ago.
We made some sort of bed or something.
And you owe me Fleming's, Derry Queen, a meal from there?
On a UFC fight, yeah, we did.
Okay.
And then you won.
All right.
Appreciate it, John.
Appreciate it very much.
You know, Liam, there's two of us in this studio.
One of us also put some money on the catch when they got down by three of money
line and won some money tonight.
It wasn't me.
must mean it must have been you.
I told you.
I felt good when they were down 65, 62.
I felt like a weird sense of this team's going to pull it out.
This has just felt different.
We're at home.
We've been clamping them up the whole second half.
We held them to what, 24 second half points.
I mean, water always finds its level, in my opinion.
You can't keep shooting that hot the way you were in the first half.
I was kind of worried, though, with Kentucky in the first half,
they weren't making free throws.
But they just kind of locked in.
And this team, this team, we're having fun.
right now, Ryan. This is a fun win. It's a fun night. I'm excited for next Saturday against
Florida. We got beat up a little bit tonight. You're playing big, big teams down low, rest up,
because you've got more. You got to face next week against Florida. You know, but good for you
because now you made some money on the game. Then also a little extra money in your pocket for coming
all the way down here to do the show. For Valentine's Day. For Valentine's Day. You did mention
free throws. If there was one negative tonight, Kentucky was only 13 of 22 from the free throw line.
And I think didn't they miss like their first five? They missed like. They missed.
like their first four or five free throws to start the game.
13 of 22.
Got to clean that up.
You know, you pull it out tonight, but you got to clean that up,
especially with these tough games coming up.
All right, who we got next?
John two.
John two.
Go ahead, John two.
Thanks, Ron.
Thanks for taking my call.
It's always a good night when you beat Tennessee.
Matt shared the link earlier on the Tennessee post game show.
That was some of the funniest stuff I've ever heard.
All they could talk about was KSR, which was great.
It's all rent-free.
Nate Amen tonight was awesome in the first half.
Second half, not as much.
But will that replace Chris Lofton as the best performance ever in Rupp Arena for you?
No comment on that.
I got me in trouble one time when they mistook something that I was trying to say.
But Nate Ament, the first half, he was the best player in the country.
He was awesome.
He could not miss.
And I saw the second half of his game, I forget who they were playing now,
but he had like 24 points in the second half of his last game.
So the dude is definitely one of the top players in the country,
and he's just a freshman.
But Colin Chandler totally did the job on him in the second half.
What else you got?
He really did, and I'm actually rewatching the second half,
and I just saw his last shot with 16 seconds left and missed that kind of ended the game.
And, yeah, overall, just, you know, what a comeback.
This team, you can never kind of count them out.
You know, it's been awesome.
but, you know, when Chandler got the ball
and you kind of knew it was going in,
he's that sharp shooter.
And, you know, I think his new nickname
should be the Super Soaker.
I think he's great.
Appreciate it, John, too.
Yeah, you know, the nicknames will start coming.
You know, everybody wants to rename this team,
the comeback cats.
We've already had comeback cats.
That's the 98 team.
But there'll be enough for the suggestions.
We'll maybe figure one out.
All right.
Who's next?
Nick.
Nick, go ahead, Nick.
Hey, Ryan.
Nothing sucks like a big orange.
That color's right.
right. And Colin Chandler, if he'd have made that free throw at the end, he'd have hit my parlay,
but since he didn't, yeah, it's one of those nuts. But hey, these cats are onto something.
I forget what they've won, so many games out of so many, but they are onto something.
Credit to Mark Pope, let's go beat those nasty gators down in the swamp.
There we go, Nick. Appreciate it. They've won, Kentucky's won eight of their last nine.
The guy mentioned about the free throws at the end.
The over under, I think was a 146 and a half, and it ended 145.
How do they do this?
How are they so on top of it, how can they name an over under on a game two days before they even play it?
And then it's almost exactly to that number every single time.
How do they do it?
Well, they have those towers for a reason.
I guess these analytics, I'm not a big analytic guy.
I mean, I'm an analytic guy.
I believe in analytics in a way.
but they have all these numbers they're crunching.
They just know.
They've been doing it so long.
It's insane.
I thought for sure today'd be over.
So I bet the over.
Nope, 145.
He was the under.
All right, take another phone call.
Who we got?
Chase.
Chase, go ahead, Chase.
Hey, Ron.
How are y'all tonight?
What's up, Chase?
It's our golfer from Lindsay Wilson College.
Just a couple late night thoughts here.
Will Colin Chandler or L.A.
make a bigger shot and then CAA tournament
or we'll then sell Aberdeen next week have a revenge game at Ford on his mind
and there's nothing like meeting the Tennessee volunteers
and meeting them twice in the same season.
Appreciate it, Chase.
Yeah, I hadn't thought about that.
Aberdeen going back to his old stomping around next Saturday at Florida.
Usually those games don't ever work out.
Usually the player doesn't have a very good game because he presses too much.
You know, Diabate didn't have his greatest game against Alabama.
They just don't seem to play that well.
And I say that, but yet, whatever reason, Otega Owe seems to thrive against Oklahoma.
You know, he had the two game winners against Oklahoma last year,
played well against Oklahoma earlier this week.
So maybe Aberdeen is mature enough that you can handle that going back to Florida
because they're going to need him.
Florida is definitely the best team in the conference.
And they proved tonight with their big win over,
over A&M at A&M.
All right, who's next?
Stony.
Okay, is this the guy that just got married?
Stony, are you together?
You are right, Ryan.
You just got married?
You got married today?
On the night getting married,
biggest comeback ever at Rupp Arena.
Unbelievable.
Let's go, cats.
C-A-T-S, cats, cats, cats, cats.
Let's go.
Stoney, aren't you supposed to?
to be on your honeymoon right now.
If you just got married today, why are you calling the postgame show?
Because we're sitting in our family room after we watch the cats beat those get spinning
girls tonight.
So you got married, cut the cake, went home to watch the game.
It was kind of a, I needed insurance.
Got laid off earlier in the year.
I needed some insurance.
We got married for that.
The honeymoon is a little bit later down the road, Ryan.
You kind of know about that.
You've been married a couple times.
Yeah, I'm so good at it.
I've done it twice.
You know.
Well, look, we had jelly.
I'm door dash like you have to, man.
You know, you got to make ends meet when it comes down to it.
We had Jelly Kelly called earlier who just got engaged today.
And then Stoney comes in, our last caller in our last segment and stumps everybody.
He just got married today.
Thank you for that.
Got married today.
Well, congratulations to you.
Put your wife on the phone here for a second.
She's off the phone.
Michelle's here.
Michelle, how are you, Michelle?
I'm good.
What did you think about getting married and then hustling home to watch a basketball game?
It's like any other day.
We just got married and watched the cat.
Well, congratulations.
A good way to celebrate is watching a big win like that for sure.
So now hang up with us and do the things you're supposed to do on your honeymoon.
Well, absolutely.
Thank you, Your Honor.
Appreciate it.
How about bow,
Pao pao, man, I tell you what,
that's a perfect way to end it right there.
Can we end it right there?
I think so.
I think so, too.
The dude just got married,
went home to celebrate by watching Kentucky beat Tennessee,
and then they win in a dramatic fashion towards the end.
Stoney, go buy a lottery ticket, dude.
Today's your day.
So now you got to work on getting that honeymoon coming up
because Michelle's going to hold you to do that.
So look, that's it.
a winner, 74-71 over Tennessee.
They've now won eight of their last nine SEC games.
There's seven games left, and there's some tough ones.
They got Florida twice.
They got Vanderbilt at home.
They got Georgia at home.
They got South Carolina on the road, I think, at Auburn.
I mean, there's some at A&M.
So you have to go at Florida, at A&M, at Auburn yet.
I mean, there's some tough games coming up.
But with this heart and the fight this team's got, I don't doubt them at all.
Not anymore.
I do not doubt this team.
You shouldn't either.
Liam, good job, man.
Good working with you tonight.
The honor's mine, Ryan Lemon.
Be safe going home.
That'll do it for the local total of yours KSR postgame show.
Cats are winner 7471.
Hey, Tony Basilio.
Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.
Good night.
