This is an I-Heart podcast.

NFL Cover Zero with Matt Jones and Drew Franklin is a production of the NFL and I-Heart podcast.
It is week 11 of NFL cover zero Matt Jones and Drew Franklin on the precipice of our trip this weekend to Buffalo.
For Buffalo and Tampa Bay, we are taking off from Kentucky on what will be certainly a beautiful drive.
through Akron, Cleveland, Erie, Pennsylvania.
Some people call it America's most beautiful highway to Buffalo.
Drew, are you excited for the first time NFL Cover Zero goes on the road?
I am very excited.
Always enjoy going on road trips with you guys anyway.
But a Bill's game has been high on my sports bucket list for a long time.
I even said that on the show.
You did too before we even knew this was a possibility earlier in the season.
So I am fired up to get out there.
I'm a big tailgator.
I want to see the mafia in full.
speed. I'm looking forward to being a part of it.
Weather doesn't look like it's going to be too bad.
I mean, we wondered about that going through.
Obviously, the game's going to be fun.
Two great teams.
Billy gets to see his Tampa Bay Bucks.
I get to see my football crush, Josh Allen.
But more importantly, have you ever made that drive before between Akron,
Cleveland, Erie Buffalo?
You would have been to Buffalo, but I think we were coming from a completely different area.
So, no, I haven't done.
This is one of the few major roads in America I've never been on.
I've been up to Cleveland, but Cleveland to Buffalo, you go along the lake.
You get the lake effect snow.
You get lake eerie.
Canada's right there.
Canada's right there.
You can spit, although I think that'd be rude, but you can spit and it would go into Canada.
I would like to take you all to Canada, but not one, but two of you do not have a passport, which is crazy to me.
Yeah, that's my bad.
you're bad. I mean, you realize
you don't realize how close we are to Canada
there and we're not going to get to go.
I might go and leave you. We might go get
Poutine and come back. Yeah, we might go and leave
you. Well, I know you've had issues at the border
between Canada and the United States. I've been stopped at the
Canadian border twice, but I feel like third time's a
charge. I'm banned from a
stadium in Canada. That's true. Also
a problem.
And a casino. We can leave you in Buffalo
and then go across Niagara Falls
to Toronto. But
I am looking forward to it. We're talking
about maybe staying Saturday night in Erie, Pennsylvania, which is people say what happens in Erie
is not talked about, not because it's scandalous because no one wants to, but it should be
fun.
And we have press, it's the first time we've had NFL press credentials.
How about that?
Yeah, we've had fun cover a lot of sporting events, but I've never been able to go to an NFL
game.
I guess we'll probably jump right into the interviewing, like we're just one of the regular
beat reporters around there.
I'll do a little working from the press box, whatever.
Whatever we're allowed to do, I want to take part of it.
Is this a Tony Romo game or Tom Brady?
Do I get to see one of those guys?
I'll look it up now.
Do you know who the announcers are?
We'll look that up.
It'd be funny if our friend Ian Eagle was there.
I will say this.
They approve your credentials a lot faster when you're with the NFL.
Usually if I ask for credentials to an event like this, they call me and go,
who are you?
Why do you want to come here?
Kentucky's not playing, right?
This time, 30 seconds you're in.
Yeah, got that approval like almost instantly.
They were very precise about it.
their head shots. That took a little, I even had to like redo it. So they want to make sure you're
looking good on that pass. They literally said on the headshot, do not face to the left. I'm like,
but that's my best side. Look, see, watch. Look at me right now on the video. Now go.
See why I could not want to do that. That should be your credential.
Just me, just me moving. Well, they didn't let me do that. But we're looking forward to the trip.
It's eye and eagle and eagle. Let's not tell them. Let's just,
walk up behind him.
Oh, dude, that would be awesome.
So Ion's going to be there.
And JJ.
Well, I don't know, JJ, but Ion's my buddy.
Maybe we can go out Saturday night with I.
Yeah.
He's going to talk about credential stuff.
Why are you all here?
He's going to hit us and what the hell are you all doing?
Dude, that would be really funny if we did not.
The problem is we probably can't get in the booth.
But if we didn't even tell him.
Just slid up.
And just walked behind him and gave him like a nougie.
The Collinsworth slide, right in a chair up next to him.
That would be the, what are you doing here?
He could be listening to prepare for the big NFL weekend.
Well, Ian, we'll see you.
We'll see you on Sunday for Buffalo and Tampa.
If you're in Buffalo, come say hi to us.
I can't tell you where.
Billy, do you have a bar yet for us to do the show?
Yes, after the game.
Don't say it yet.
Okay.
Because we don't know for sure that's the place.
You don't want everybody going there.
I've been making calls, though.
So we'll be ready.
What do you say to the people when you come?
There's a mainstream NFL podcast that would like to be in your building?
I was dropping the NFL like it was my job.
Like how?
What do you say?
Hey, this is Billy Rutledge.
I'm with IHeart Radio and the NFL and we're looking to collab.
You felt confident enough to say you were with the NFL.
Yeah, I mean.
I'm looking at the logo right behind him on that TV.
That feels very confident to say you are with.
the NFL.
I mean, that would be only, like, if there was an NFL organizational chart, I think it's fairly
certain you're at the very bottom.
But on the list.
You're not with the NFL.
But I wouldn't say you're with the NFL either.
I think that's a stretch.
Maybe I'm doing something for the NFL.
Doesn't have the same ring to it.
I put NFL network in my Instagram bio.
You do not put NFL network.
Come on.
You two are like being a list.
I don't have a bio.
I just tag every account, KSR, KSBarr, all the stuff we do,
and I just add an NFL network to the bottom.
Sneaking that in.
Yeah.
Well, today I spoke at the university here in Kentucky,
and they asked me to do my bio,
and I was like, Tucky Sports Radio, ESPN Radio, blah, blah, blah.
And then the professor goes, how about the NFL?
And I was like, I don't know if I feel comfortable.
That'd be like me just adding Netflix because I was on at once.
Oh, good call.
Documentary star.
Well, all right.
So you said, I'm with the, not with, I'm from the NFL.
No, I'm with the NFL.
No, I'm with the NFL.
And we're looking to collab with a local sports bar.
We'll be able to give you some free promotion on a national show.
Billy Road, NFL.
Yeah.
All right.
Well, hopefully we'll have some success.
We're looking forward to it.
An Erie, if you're in Erie, if you have a suggestion of what we can do in Erie,
772-724-5254, the text machine.
Let us know, where do you eat in Erie?
You know, what is there to do?
Where's the party?
Where is the party in Erie?
We've had many random nights in Pennsylvania towns that aren't Pittsburgh or Philly.
That's a part of the state I've never been.
We've never been up there, like that little corner.
But that state never lets us down when we pop in their random towns.
That's true.
All right, this is our midweek show, so we're going to try to get the news.
Billy has come up with what he believes are the top 10 NFL stories this week.
These are in no particular order, right?
This is not like an order of how important you think that.
Correct.
So these are just randomly, random NFL stories.
Billy, I'm going to let you go.
And we're going to do some commentary on them.
Let's go.
Yeah, the first one is the Giants decided to fire head coach Brian Daibel.
They kept their GM, but Brian is out after a 20, 40, and one record as head coach.
He was coach of the year, his first season in 2022.
But with Jackson Dart and another poor start to the season, Brian Daibble is out in New York.
Yeah, not a shock.
I mean, I think he probably got fired the moment Jackson Dart got that concussion, right?
Because, I mean, the only reason you would have kept Dayball is the idea, because, you know, he helped develop Josh Allen in Buffalo is that you go, okay, well, maybe he can do it with Jackson Dart.
Then once he's out with the concussion, there's probably not a lot of reason to rush Jackson Dart back.
So you say, why am I doing this with Dayball, right?
And it seemed like they were heading for this in the beginning of the year with Russell Wilson just chucking it out of the stadium every time he got a chance.
But then the rookie combo of Darden Scataboo brought some swag.
They got a few unexpected wins, got some life in that fan base.
But then with those two out, they've gone right back to dead and just they need to make the change.
And the Bears knocked them out too.
I mean, the Bears, they're up to scores against the Bears.
They blow the game.
Have a chance at the end.
Russell Wilson looks like Drew out there playing quarterback at the end.
It is odd to me, though, they kept the GM.
And maybe it's because of hard knocks.
I sort of associate those two at the hip, you know, and the fact that they kept one and not the other.
And I would assume that means they're keeping Joe Shane during the off season.
Like there would be no reason not to fire him now if you're going to keep him at the end of the year.
Yeah, and it shows how close it was and people thought might have happened because every story I read, it's like very intentional in the headline.
You know, coach fired kept GM.
They were making that point because a lot of people assumed that they both would go about the same time.
Do you think they said to the GM?
I mean, was it a, I don't know, was it like you have to fire him or else you're gone?
I mean, I don't, I never understand who makes these decisions.
Like, in theory, it should be the GM.
But if you also might lose your job, I guess it's the president, right?
Yeah, or the owner right over your shoulder that doesn't like what the GM's doing.
Well, he seems very involved from Hard Knocks, Mara.
Like he was in the, he's in the draft room and stuff.
But they had an incredible draft.
I think that's probably why the GM stayed.
I mean, they got Abdul Carter at three or whatever.
And then Scataboo looks like he panned out.
And then Dart was a gamble.
You know, everybody was talking Shador in that spot.
So I guess with the GM, you're like,
tough to fire him after the draft he had in the spring.
He did have a really good draft.
If you were an owner of a team, would you be involved?
Let's say Drew Franklin gets to own the Titans.
How much are you involved in the day-to-day decisions?
I would want to for a little bit,
but I would also recognize
quickly, if I'm not good at it, I would get out of the way.
There's a lot of owners that can't look in the mirror and realize that they're, you know, doing too much, not capable of it, and they just mess things up.
I would be in the room for a few days, a few weeks, and if I realize I'm in over my head, I'm like, all right, I'm getting out of the way.
I'll be in my suite watching you all.
Bring me a good team.
See, I worry I'd be really involved.
You would be very involved.
Like the Ursay.
What do you mean I would be very involved?
You don't know that.
Well, we watch you seat people at our restaurant on a live radio, so we know you're like that.
You know what? I knew you were going to say that. I knew you were going to be a jerk.
And I knew you were going to say that. But you're right. I do do that.
Yeah, I don't know. Because I would definitely want to know, okay, why are you doing this?
But I would probably let them make the decision. So I don't think I would be Jerry Jones.
But I also would do something, right? Like, what was the point of buying the team unless I can?
I would want to be liked by my fans. And there are a lot of owners who,
fans do not like them because their hands are too involved.
Teams not good.
What would you do to be liked?
Stay out of the way when things aren't going well.
But then when they're bad, they're going to blame you anyway.
Like you're going to get, it's like, again, you use example, the restaurant.
If somebody comes to the restaurant and has a bad meal, they blame me even though I didn't
cook it.
So shouldn't I try to make sure as much as I can, it's cooked well?
Yeah, I guess owning the team, though, if I don't know what I'm doing, I'm just removing
myself and then blaming everyone.
I'm like, I'm in my suite, having fun of my friends.
And you're a detached owner?
That's probably what I would do.
Okay.
You asked me the question.
Yeah, that's probably what I would do.
I would not want to be Jerry with my hand on everything.
It's interesting.
So the owner, like the bear's owner is an old lady.
McCluskey, McCluskey, McCluskey.
McClasky, McCluskey.
Anyway, she's beloved.
She's like in her 80s.
And I think people know she's not, she didn't select Caleb Williams.
and the bears haven't been particularly good.
So maybe that's what you want to be.
You need to be the little old lady in her pearls.
I will happily be a little old lady.
Now, if we have the number one pick or something,
I'm getting in there and I'm...
So you are going to be part of this.
I'm listening, but if I have a quarterback I love or something,
I'm going to have a little influence.
I would not override everyone, but I would be in the room like, hey,
I would really like this.
All right, so it's Caleb Williams, Jaden Daniels.
And you're the Bears, and you own the Bears.
and you own the bears.
And you've seen both these guys play.
And they say, I want to pick Jaden Daniels.
But you really believe Caleb Williams is better.
Like, you really believe it.
What are you doing?
This is easy.
I'll look at them.
I say, look, I really like Caleb Williams.
I'd love to see him in my uniform.
But I hired you all to make these decisions.
If you go the other way, that's fine,
but you will be quick to the unemployment office
if it doesn't work out.
How are you going quick to the unemployment office?
Like, I'm letting you do it, but just know that I have this in mind, but it's all on you.
And if it works, I'm putting the credit on you.
What if it's somebody you knew?
Okay, in that case, you could have made a case for both of them.
What if it was somebody like Anthony Richardson that you knew, you and I knew when he was in Florida, he was a bust?
And they come to you and say, we're picking Anthony Richardson.
Are you vetoing it?
Yeah, I think I'd have to.
I think I'd have to.
If it's someone that I truly believe that will, they will not work out, I couldn't, you know, with my own money.
let my GM go do it in and fine.
But if it's closer,
tie goes the GM,
but I'm putting all the credit
either one way or the other on them.
Okay.
Yeah.
I think I would be very involved,
but I wouldn't,
I would not pick the seventh round pick.
Yeah,
I'm not out there watching the linemen.
Not going to Combon.
But if we have the number one pick
and there's like some,
because that's your franchise,
that's your marketing.
That's your whole thing.
Be a little more active in that.
We've seen Jim Ursa's daughter
really be involved.
She's wearing a headset on the sideline.
I don't know why that bothers people.
Because I actually.
As long as she's on the sideline and she's not communicating, she's just listening.
What is wrong with wanting to know what's happening?
Again, to use the restaurant example, that would be like me sitting in the back and watching the cooks.
Shouldn't I want to know how my restaurant is run, how my coaches do their jobs?
Is that wrong?
No, I think it's a great idea.
I just think the narrative would be different if they were losing.
But she's gotten a lot of criticism for that.
Some.
Yeah.
And I don't think that's fair.
I think she should do that.
She seems to be staying out of the way and just listening.
Like even when you see her, she's off by herself.
She's got a little notepad.
She's writing stuff down.
She also did something what I would do when I was talking about me being an owner.
When they were in Berlin, did you see she went to the bar full of Colts fans and picked up the tab?
Just strolled in there.
That's the kind of stuff I'd be doing.
That's as an owner, you come in and you go, okay, I got this for everybody.
They're loving her, right?
players, fans, of course, team being 8 and 2 helps.
But, you know, this is our first season doing all this, and they're loving her.
Yeah, I think you do a lot of that stuff.
Because if you're that rich, you know, one $5,000 bar tab.
I went to the Titans played the Chiefs in the playoffs, and I made the trip.
We weren't supposed to be in the game at all, so I had to go.
And we had a Titans party, and the owner came in.
She didn't buy the round.
But it was like everybody celebrated and she was going around meeting people.
So she didn't buy anything, though.
I don't remember her buying her round.
I didn't seem like, just being there, like, you're the road team, you're the away team, you're outnumbered.
It's like we're all in the same spot.
And then ownership and the GM just roll in and start hanging out.
That's pretty neat.
I think I would do a lot of that if they were in their shoes.
Well, sorry to Brian Dayball.
He'll find an OC job.
Somebody will hire him.
Like he's had enough success at it.
He'll get one.
Well, there's rumors that the bills might bring him back since they've been stagnant on offense.
It wouldn't make sense.
He obviously has a good relationship with Josh Allen.
So, you know, it's kind of like in, oh, brother, where art thou?
When he sees the, what's the guy's name that Rob's Banks?
Babyface.
And he says, I don't think that's the last we've seen of old baby face Nelson.
It's funny to bring that up.
I might be watching that movie tonight.
It's like tonight.
An excellent.
I have that all my skills.
I now have that in my top five of movies.
I really do.
Like in terms of rewatchable, I may have seen, if you're saying, what movies Matt Jones and no one's saying this, but if they were, what are the five movies you've watched the most?
Caddyshack is number one.
Obrother where Art thou might be number two.
It's that or the godfather.
I'm married into an O'Brother family.
Anytime they're together, it's like, well, let's watch O'Brothers.
So that's become like a tradition.
Even though I loved it when it first came out, now I've seen it so many more times in the past few years.
Was it big when it first came out?
I don't remember.
I think it's like office space.
Office space bombed when it came out and then got, it's huge.
Like, everybody knows office space now, but I don't think anybody watched it when it came.
I don't remember it being that big one was out.
I just remember catching with Clooney and the music and bluegrass kind of type stuff liking it.
But yeah, it's one of the more rewatchable movies for sure.
I'm not kidding.
I'm probably going to watch it tonight.
We have dialed up.
All right.
What's next?
Former Tennessee Titans wide receiver, AJ Brown, made some interesting comments over the weekend.
now with the Philadelphia Eagles, he was on a Twitch stream playing Madden.
Everybody's on Twitch streams, and they all say, does anyone ever say anything intellectual on a Twitch stream?
It feels like every time the story starts, he was on a Twitch stream, then you get something that makes people mad.
Do we need to be Twitching Mario? Should we be Twitch streaming this?
You act like I don't.
You act like Mario and I haven't talked about this already.
We'll be doing that next summer.
All right, go ahead.
Yeah, so he said in reference to the Eagles offense, it's a bleep show.
I'm struggling.
If you got me on fantasy, get rid of me.
And then when reporters asked him about it today, he doubled down.
And it said, it's not just solely about my situation.
I want to win too.
I think if we're really focused on winning and doing our job,
we can't just keep slapping a band-aid over the defense doing their job
and getting us out of trouble.
At what point are we going to pick up the slack as an offense?
Now, you would hear those quotes and you would think they're awful.
But they're seven and two, right?
So is he mad that he really thinks the offense is bad,
or is he mad that he's not getting the ball?
They had a couple weeks, but that's since been fixed.
And they didn't score a lot to be fair against Green Bay, but they won't.
That's true.
The Green Bay game wasn't as good.
I don't know, just I like AJ.
Arthur Juan is what I call him.
But he's got to be the NFL.
Arthur One.
Arthur Juan Brown.
He has to be the NFL's leading diva right now,
and I say that would love.
I feel like we've had six of these stories this season.
of him.
Little comments here and there.
Do you think if they were five and four,
but he had his yards up,
do you think he would complain?
Probably not.
He says he wants to be a part of winning.
But they're winning.
I know.
He says he wants the conversation to be winning.
It's like, well, you're the one talking.
Jalen Hurd said we have to stop shining light on all these stories pretty much.
Well, I mean, they correct me if I'm wrong.
They won the Super Bowl last year.
Yeah, defending champs.
They are currently tied for first in the NFC edition.
year. Correct? Yep. What does he want? The ball? Because he's a wide receiver. Yeah, he took a
backseat to Sequin when Sequin ran for 2,000 yards last year. So he thought this year was going to be
his big year and just hasn't happened. So he was on a Twitch stream. What were they streaming?
Madden. They were playing Madden. Who's they? Who's he playing? Whoever the Twitch streamer that is
hosting the stream. So you're telling me that like just some kids playing Madden. Yeah. And then all of a
and AJ Brown plays him.
They're playing with AJ, yeah, and he's on the mic talking to them.
And he's streaming it?
I'm not sure.
I don't think he is.
I don't think he's the one hosting the stream.
I think it was another person.
So did they know each other before?
Don't know that either.
It does seem most news comes from all the players having their own podcast or streaming a game.
They say nothing to the media now, and then they just go home and turn on the computer and say whatever they want.
But what I don't understand is why don't they advertise that?
Because I felt like if people knew that AJ Brown was playing like a 19-year-old kid from South Korea,
there would be people that would watch it, wouldn't they?
Or do they advertise it?
And I just don't get to see it because I'm not watching those channels.
Yeah, I'm not sure.
They probably would make some money, but they probably are just trying to relax a little bit.
Then why do they stream it?
They're not streaming.
It's the person they're playing with.
So why don't they say, turn it off, kid.
So you're telling me this was a random kid stream that somebody happened to be watching.
Well, probably a lot of people were watching because AJ was playing with him.
But how did they know AJ was playing?
Well, word gets around, right?
You send a tweet out.
AJ's on the stream.
He's playing with us.
Word gets around.
But didn't get to me.
Are you on the TikTok?
I like how you said that.
The TikTok.
I am, but it didn't come into my feed.
AJ's streaming here.
Looks like he was playing with someone janky Rondo.
Oh, I like Janky Rondo.
I don't follow him enough.
That's why we miss this.
Is Janky Rondo famous?
Looks like he does some...
So he plays against famous people, old Janky Rondo.
That sounds like a nickname people had for people in Middlesbrough.
Don't go get your car fixed.
Don't Janky Rondo's house.
What a world, though.
You're just a guy playing a video game.
You bought a GameStop.
But on the other end, you know, pro ballers leaking news that goes all over the NFL.
You never know when you watch Janky Rondo what he's going to do.
What's next?
Matthew Stafford is in his 17th season in the NFL.
He's won a Super Bowl, and he's the favorite to win the MVP right now at plus 260 odds.
But the stat is that he just reached 500 for a winning percentage of his career.
After 231 starts, he is now 115, 115, and won.
That's amazing because didn't he start out his first year?
He was like 1 and 15, right?
The Lions were bad.
Yeah.
Well, I think his first year,
They were literally maybe one in 15.
So he probably had a big hole.
Speaking of the guy, doesn't his wife, doesn't she stream?
She's a podcaster.
What does she had?
She does like a Christian thing, right?
I'm not sure, but she's made news talking in the past.
It's something like she's like everybody drink milk or something like that, isn't she?
No, it's Jim Harbaugh.
Okay.
She had a beef with somebody.
It was another player.
Yeah, I don't know.
A couple years ago.
She had a beef?
Yeah, there was some podcast beef.
I'm so old.
I remember when the picture of them dating went viral when he was in college.
Georgia, yeah.
Look who Matthew Stafford dates.
This sorority.
And now she's like milk podcasting.
Where are you getting the milk?
Is it not milk?
It's on Jackie Rondo's.
That's where we got to see it.
I love the stat, though, that, you know, this long career, got a Super Bowl ring.
My could be a VP.
He's a Hall of Famer.
Yeah.
Just got to 500.
Has he ever won the MVP before?
I don't think so.
I don't think he has.
So, I mean, there might be kind of a lifetime achievement award to this a little bit.
And as his career winds down, I know they're good,
but he's got to be careful to get above 500 and stay there.
You can't retire under 500 for Matthew Staff.
Do you think his career is widening down?
I mean, these guys play forever now, right?
He's got to be getting close to 40, but then again,
I'm flaco and Rogers are still out there.
Do you, that trade between this?
and Detroit.
That's one of the very few trades of high-profile people that kind of worked out for everybody, didn't it?
Yeah.
Both quarterbacks just needed a reset.
Well, Stafford was always good.
He was just on a bad Lions team, so he finally got some where.
And then he goes and wins the Super Bowl.
Yeah, but then Jared Goff and the Lions, soon as he gets there, they're on the uptick and, you know, a contender this year.
So it is one of the rare where it worked out both ways.
Kelly made news in 2024 when she revealed that she dated Matthew Stafford's backup quarterback
at Georgia to make him jealous.
I knew she was this big story.
I did not hear that.
Oh, yeah.
I thought it was just milk.
So what happened?
She dated Matthew Stafford's backup quarterback at the University of Georgia.
Joe Cox, who she publicly apologized to.
Why is she apologizing to Joe Cox?
Well, she said, I don't want his identity to get out.
And then she said he was Matthew Stafford's backup his senior year.
And it's like, well, we can figure that out pretty easily.
She said she didn't want that idea.
She never said his name.
She just kind of was given clues of who it could be.
but it was like, well, that has to be the backup quarterback.
So she apologized to Joe Cox.
Yes.
Did she apologize to Matthew Stafford?
Yeah, I mean, probably.
They've got kids now.
They figured it out somewhere along the way.
And so this came out.
That's the moment I was thinking of.
This came out on her milk podcast.
I don't know about the milk.
You're right, though.
She had a beef with somebody.
I don't remember who it was,
but she got into it with, like,
Drew Breeze's aunt or something.
I love
She has a milk podcast,
beef with Drew Breese's aunt.
It was somebody.
You see,
Drew is right.
She had a beef.
The morning after with Kelly Stafford.
That's a very seductive name, isn't it?
Yes, they're dropping stories.
The morning after?
Hmm.
Is that on the NFL network?
When you drink your milk.
Okay.
Well, would you vote for him for MVP right now?
I don't know what you were about to ask me because I was thinking,
The podcast and milk and Drew Breeze's aunt.
She's a nice lady.
She's a nice lady.
Yeah, no, completely.
I don't want to let the Patriots fans win,
but if they don't start losing games,
Drake May is going to be your MVP.
No.
Or Taylor.
You give it to the 17th year guy instead of the same.
He's got plenty of time.
I don't disagree.
You don't want to give it to Drake Bay.
What if he ends up stinking?
And then you're like, remember that year we gave it to Drake Bay?
And we all laugh.
Yeah.
I saw Jonathan Taylor's about to.
hit the triple crown of yards per carry touchdowns and total yards, or not about to, he's on pace
to.
To win all three.
And that hasn't been done in forever.
I think maybe Terrell Davis or somebody did it.
So if he were to do that and the Colts still be good, that'd be hard.
I'd like to see him win just because running backs don't ever win.
I know.
I always wanted Henry, or the years Henry were so spectacular.
I want him to be in the conversation.
Is it weird that every time I'm watching the game, they say Jonathan Taylor, I just want to say Thomas.
Go back to home improvement?
That's a good, it's a good home improvement.
I've been rewatching it lately.
I mean, he was a, like, teen idol.
He was in, Teen Bop?
Tiger Beat.
Tiger Beat and Teen Bop.
Those were the two.
Yeah.
Mario doesn't know about Tiger Beach.
You don't know that era.
There was nothing more intimidating than, you know, the elementary middle school dating
scene.
If you ever were lucky enough to even go in their home because you're young,
probably shouldn't be doing that.
You go in there and there's just posters of JTT everywhere.
I mean, you see them like, what am I supposed to do?
against that. It would be interesting to see a
Hall of Fame of Tiger
Beat. So
first ballot, new kids on the block
and like
in sync and back street boys. They would be
first ballot. I've got a deep cut. I'm embarrassed I'm going to
say it. Kurt Cameron. He's on there.
He was big. I'm going to do
Mark Paul Gossler
and Mario Lopez.
And then JTT
is on there for sure. I think he's
like the face of that era.
of that era, but I think you go back to new kids on the block.
They were right there too.
Okay, so who else would you add to the Tiger Beat?
There's a guy who's in a bunch of movies and he just disappeared.
Is there Andrew Keegan?
Something like he has like pulled back hair?
That's not a person.
I'm going to pull him up.
You're going to know as soon as I show it.
He was in all the teen movies.
I think you're making that game up.
Yep, that's his name.
Got him right here on the cover of Tiger Beat too.
He's on the cover of Tiger Beat?
With JTT.
No, he's not.
Side by side.
No, he's not.
Look, it says JTT and Andrew.
All right, let's look.
Andrew Keegan.
Yep.
Oh, yeah.
I remember that guy.
And he just fell off the grid.
He was in everything for a few years.
He was in 10 Things I Hate About You.
Also a movie called, he was in some bad movies.
Teenage Caveman Returns.
Was that a sequel?
I don't, he must have been because I don't think he was there to begin with.
I just want to see because, you know, the internet has everything.
Has anyone ever?
made a Tiger Beat Hall of Fame.
Okay.
No, I mean, because listen, if that's, if that happened, I would be impressed.
If not, we're going to do it.
Oh, this is Detroit Tigers Hall of Fame.
What does Tiger Woods need to do to go to the Hall of Fame?
I'm on Oprah.com.
It has 45 years of Tiger Beat covers.
It's the closest I can get.
Well, oh, here's some old ones.
there's uh oh these are really old oh here's a good one scott bea oh yeah do you know who scott bayo is no no
charles in charge of our days and our lives we're straying a little bit from football on this
week's episode just a little bit what's next tiger beat covers a name that you guys already
mentioned drew breeze is joining fox sports's NFL coverage he will be debuting in the green bay packers
New York Giants game on Sunday through for over 80,000 yards and 571 touchdowns over 20 seasons
and will now join Tom Brady and Greg Olson on the network.
He's an example of why you can't just completely dismiss an announcer when they start.
Because if you remember, his first game was just atrocious.
He kind of looked at the camera and was like, I like football.
Throw ball downfield.
And now I actually think he's a pretty good announcer.
So he's replacing, I guess, Mark Sanchez.
And I think he'll be good.
I like that higher.
He's also going to become the first announcer for Fox to ever be allowed to call for another network.
Because he was already scheduled to do Netflix's Christmas Day game.
Yeah, the Christmas game.
Yeah, I like hearing.
And Brady also had a rough start.
I still am not a huge.
I'm not saying he's great.
But I think he's better.
He's better.
But every once in a while, where they lock into that brain that only a few of them have
and they tell you something you don't know or what to.
look for. Not so much the Romo calling
plays, but when they get in depth, those
guys that truly know it and you grew up watching,
it is different. I'll like him out
there and Brady's still pretty rough,
but Breeze has improved. Who would you say
give me your
MVP of NFL
color announcers today? Who's
the top of the chart? Who's the best?
I'm still upset. Greg Olson got past.
I agree. I love Uncle Greg.
Greg. All right. So let's do our
top four. For me, it would be Greg Olson
won. I'm going to
still go Chris Collinsworth
2.
I'm going to
I'm going to go
I'm going to go 3
a rising
JJ Watt.
Oh, okay.
Is that because he's with your boy?
I think he does a good job.
I really do.
And then I'll go four,
Aitman, not even so much
because I think he's good.
I just think he signals like it's a big game
because Troy Aitman's on it.
So that's how I'm doing.
What's yours?
I don't know if I can do Collinsworth.
I might put, even though I...
You wouldn't put him anywhere in the top four?
I have Collinsworth exhaustion.
Okay.
It could be from you, ooh, and on all time.
The slide.
Is that your signal you don't want me to do...
No, no, you keep doing it, but I just think the real Collinsworth is suffering because of it.
Okay.
There's a young...
It's me doing it.
Okay.
Give me your five again.
I put...
I go one...
Hold on.
Let me...
I'm going Olsen.
Olsen.
I'm going to put Romo in there instead of Collinsworth, even though I do get annoyed when he tries too hard to call out the plays.
I enjoy listening to Romo.
And I like watching the Cowboys.
And when he gets a Cowboys game, that's fun.
This guy's new and just getting started, but I always love McCordy on NFL Network and the talk shows.
And now he's starting to get a chance.
He's not in my top five, but I'm really rooting for him.
Is Charles Davis still doing it?
Charles Davis is still in it?
He's pretty good.
I like him.
I wasn't familiar with Vilma until he interviewed Trump.
It was a beautiful play.
It's a big play.
Did you say Romo?
Romo might have been fifth for me.
Roma, I got, I had some Romo exhaustion.
Like, we get it, man.
You know the plays.
I understand.
I think they told him to stop.
I do like how excited he gets about it, though.
Like, he does, he does get excited about the games.
And I like that for announcers.
Charles Davis actually probably would be fifth.
for me. He's probably
that he's interesting because he wasn't that
good a player and yet he keeps
rising up the charts, which I think is good.
Is Darrell Johnston still
out there? He's been doing it. Is he still doing it?
Yeah, I think he's still out there. I think so.
The problem is I don't get to hear a lot of these
announcers because I'm watching Redso. So if
you do a one o'clock game,
I may not hear you Devere call a game.
Well, I watch at one o'clock
my Titans and they ain't
getting the A team, the B team, or the C team. You get
a lot of what? Actually, I've had
A lot of Adamamine.
I've had, we've gotten some I and Eagle, JJ Watt a few times this year.
So that's been a nice treat.
Okay.
I can't believe we could see Iron Eagle.
That just adds to an already fun trip.
I'm going to do something.
It's going to be our first attempt to this.
Can we call Iron Eagle live on the air?
Hang on.
Oh, boy.
What?
Hey, Bob, can I call you back in two minutes?
I'm just getting in an elevator.
Yes.
Call me back in two minutes.
I'm an eagle.
All right.
Oh, we're in.
that's all you get to hear.
I just wanted you to know that I knew I an eagle.
So when he calls me back,
we won't, we won't talk about it.
Just so we will know that's a name we actually dropped.
How about you don't talk to him until we get to Buffalo?
Don't call him back.
If he calls back, don't answer.
He's done that to me before, by the way, though.
Call you.
Can I get you?
No, I'll call and he'll call you right back.
And then I hear from him six months later.
And you're like, hey, you said you're getting an elevator.
I'm like, I don't want to tell you what happened.
Let's keep going until Iin calls and then we'll take a break.
Go ahead.
Okay.
The Texans announced that C.J.
Stroud will not play this Sunday against the Titans.
That means we get more Davis Mills.
Is he hurt or is Davis Mills won the job as one of the best quarterbacks at the second
best college of a...
By the way, we forgot Jim Plunkett as a Stanford quarterback.
Maybe a little better than Davis Mills.
To be seen.
Wait until he plays the Titans on Sunday.
So is Stroud hurt or is concussion?
He's concussed.
I mean, David.
Mills did well, didn't he?
Yeah.
I mean, he made our Stanford list of best quarterbacks ever.
Who are they playing?
The Titans.
That's why I'm saying Davis Mills is about to have another big game.
I think they're going to win.
Yeah.
Right?
This could be the start of a six-point favorite big season for Davis Mills.
Titans coming off the Ballykeville.
Look out.
We'll be doing all kinds of stuff.
Back from the Iron Eagle call.
We're going to try to see him.
in Buffalo, maybe we can do a little quick
30-second interview with I and with cover zero.
Wouldn't that be exciting?
Absolutely.
We'll be in the press box.
I'm sure he's going to be somewhere in there.
We'll just walk around until we see him.
That's right.
We'll just go exploring in high-mark stage.
I don't think I've ever had press credentials for an NFL game before, ever.
Yeah.
So I don't know what it's going to be like.
You might get a free lunch?
Maybe free coffee.
I judge teams by what they give you at the game.
You of L the other night, played Kentucky.
The Louisville food a lot better than Kentucky's food.
I talked to a lot of people that come to Kentucky from other schools, and they're like, how do you all do this here?
It's bad.
But Buffalo, I'm feeling like wings, bananas, like everything you would want.
Wings and bananas.
Are we going to get wings?
Maybe they'll have media room wings, but are we going to get the local box?
You and I've eaten that once before.
Mario over here likes chicken wings, so we'll have to get them back to the original place.
I mean, I think there's the place where they originally go, but people tell you not to go to that.
They say that there are better places.
I remember when we went to Buffalo, it was really depressing.
I'm hoping to have a better.
Remember we went and I felt like the whole city was shut down?
Nothing was going on.
Yeah, so I'm hoping we have a better impression this time.
We got there kind of late.
It was dark.
We went and got Buffalo wings and that was kind of the extent of the night.
I thought I found a place for us to stay and it said church slash.
basketball court slash Airbnb.
I felt like that was a good combination.
He's just going to run us a community center?
Big money over there.
Did you call them telling me work for the NFL?
Well, so I wrote them.
It was a little expensive.
And I was like, if you could bring it down, well, it was $2,200 for two nights.
I was like, if you could bring it down to like $1,500, I'd be for it.
And she said we're focused on monthly rentals.
So here's my question.
Who's written that for a month?
What are you doing with it?
Playing basketball?
Maybe they get a Bills player coming through temporarily to finish out the year.
I'm just go ahead and do it and make them accept me.
Just to see what it's like.
All right, what's next?
The NFL has their final international game of the season this Sunday in Madrid, Spain.
And they got a good one.
Commanders Dolphins.
Daddy Yankee is going to perform at halftime.
Daddy Yankee.
Who's that?
First of all, I'm not calling anyone, Daddy Yankee.
I believe he's a rapper, but mainly of a different dialect than English.
What dialect is he?
I believe it's Spanish.
So why would a Spanish rapper call himself Daddy Yankee?
Yankees an American term.
Yeah, I mean, you'd have to ask him.
All right, well, let's look it up.
And a couple other storylines from that game.
It's a battle of Hawaiian quarterbacks with Marcus Mariotta and Tua Tagovilo.
Well, that's kind of cool.
Washington has allowed 82 points in the last two games.
So Dan Quinn says he's taking over play calling duties on defense.
Daddy Yankee, by the way, is Puerto Rican.
He's dubbed the King of Regatun.
Is that how you say it?
That sounds about right.
He is older than I am.
He's 49.
He also goes by the big boss and Winchester.
I've heard of Daddy Yankee.
I'm familiar.
I don't drive around listening to a lot of it, but I know the name.
He's been around a while.
know him.
Like he was a feature and a lot of stuff I used to listen to.
Do you know the name of his biggest song of all time?
Couldn't tell you.
Oh, wait.
Does he sing?
He doesn't sing gasoline, does he?
That's what it is.
How in the world did you know that?
I told you I know Daddy Yankee.
He was big time for a while.
He's getting a little old.
How did you know gasoline?
I'm telling you, it was a big deal.
I know I'm familiar with Daddy Yankee.
He's just, he's getting old.
Bad Bunny pushed him out of the way and took over.
Wow.
He was cited by seeing it as the most.
influential Hispanic artists of the early 2000s.
It's a very specific award, but that's a big award, I would think.
You would know Gasolina if you heard it.
I don't know the music rights we have on this.
Do we have the music rights for gasoline?
See?
We all know Daddy Yankee.
Wow.
Was he in, he was also in a movie called Gasolina.
on brand it's
well there you go
who knew
well so he's performing
and what else has happened
to Hawaiian quarterbacks
Hawaiian quarterbacks
Dan Quinn's taking over play calling
on defense
and then the NFL is adding games
in Australia and Brazil next year
well they played in Brazil
last couple years
Australia that's far away man
like you're gonna
Is McDaniel going to drive by
the commander's bar in Spain
if they win
do the little lap
his victory lap
He did that.
Yeah, he did a victory lap.
Well, he should do a victory lap.
He's staying for the rest of the year.
I thought, you're talking about I had him fired every week.
We did.
We just said, well, next show, who will be the new coach?
And he goes and beats the bills by a million.
Yeah.
You like that.
Is it in Madrid?
Yes.
Yep.
So I just saw the record.
A couple three and seven teams.
If I ever disappear and I go off the grid.
That's where you're going.
I will be in Spain.
Spain is my favorite, Spain's my favorite country to potentially like live in.
why just the whole vibe take naps in the afternoon sold come in yeah i mean dinner starts at like
830 you stay up late sleep late works like me you know you get around to it topas see i like
topas because you go to a restaurant and you order like nine things i love a topas restaurant
and they're just they're small but like you don't you know you don't have to sit there and go oh do i
get the chicken or the fish, you just get it all.
Sometimes you don't have three or four things.
You get three or four people to go with you.
You all have to build a buffet on the table.
It's sangria.
And then it's like, you know, and then the soccer is fun there.
And they, you know, Spanish, I can speak a little, enough Spanish to know what's going on.
No, I'm not fluent.
But I can.
So I just, I feel like I would enjoy it.
Could you give us a little of that now?
I mean, gasoline.
I got kicked out of the foreign language.
Festival at Murray State. I was in there
in the Spanish competition. And I left
campus to get pizza. And when I came back, they said, we
told you not to leave campus. You are disqualified.
That was the end of my Spanish speaking.
Was this like last week? I was in high school. I was
in Spanish too. We traveled to go show
off our Spanish. I got a pizza craving.
We ain't got pizza. Came back and they said, no, sir.
We know you went over there. You're out.
I can't think of a more authentic place to show off your
Spanish than Murray, Kentucky.
It's the Spanish language festival.
We were trying to broaden our horizons in Western Kentucky.
speak if I can do it.
I can, like, listen to it and kind of get it.
I'm actually not the best at speaking.
I know it seems weird.
You'd do both.
But, like, I have to sit there and think about grammar because I don't want to be, you know, and I don't do that.
Yeah, masculine or feminine.
Yeah.
Yolotango.
Mm-hmm.
Bibliotheca.
Library.
It's amazing that that's a word we all know.
I couldn't tell you library in another language.
But, all right, that's nice.
I hope they have a good time.
What's next?
Big matchup at 4 o'clock in the NFC West.
The 49ers will travel to take on the Arizona Cardinals.
For the 14th time this year.
Arizona is 3 and 6 this year,
and they'll have to play without Marvin Harrison, Jr. this week.
He's missing his first game of his career after emergency appendicitis surgery.
I saw that.
You know, appendicitis, that's when your appendix, is it when it bursts?
I think.
Yes, I believe so.
So what does your appendix do?
I don't know, but people get it removed a lot.
I know.
And it's often like, it's a serious thing, right?
Yeah, you get really sick when it burst.
So why don't we do it like wisdom teeth and just have everybody take it out?
Does it serve some purpose?
Not sure.
So you're saying like everyone turns 15, let's just go get our appendixes removed?
Well, I just feel like it's, it feels like the cost benefit ratio is.
I mean, Marvin Harrison is one of the best athletes in football.
maybe in like so if he if he gets it and it's an emergency surgery and all the football he's played never missed a game
never missed a game never and then this happens so there's part of you that goes well why do we have it
it's on the lower right side of the abdomen i know that much you do not need it to survive so that's why
you see it commonly removed why do you got health plays a critical role in digestion
and overall health but can't be that critical if you can't take it out yeah
I mean, just being real, if you can take it out, then how critical can it be?
Yeah, it's there.
But like if the government or the body were to shut down, you know, they wouldn't be like a critical employee, you know?
The government, they shut down there.
I see what you're saying.
Yeah.
I cut you off too early.
It's not a critical employee.
Yeah.
But it would be nice to have it.
Sort of like the park rangers.
Yeah.
They're not critical.
Yes.
But it's good to have them.
Right.
Gut health.
You'd appreciate a park ranger.
That's a phrase, by the way, that we also never used to say.
Gut health?
Yeah.
You remember hearing that until like three years ago?
No.
People be like, how's your gut health?
I don't know.
No, no.
Dude, all right, I guess.
Feeling pretty normal.
I mean, yeah.
Well, I hope he gets better.
Arizona's like what?
They're three and six.
Three and six.
Yeah, so it's not going to really matter.
But hopefully he gets healthy.
He's a really talented guy.
I wish he wasn't playing for.
You know, Larry Fitzgerald played for Arizona forever.
I felt like I saw him make two catches ever.
And he's one of the best of all time.
Just because no one watches their games.
You didn't mean he was only making two catches.
I just seen it doesn't get on my radar.
Yeah, not significant enough.
What NFL team have you seen, you think, collectively,
the fewest minutes of their games in history?
Probably the Chargers.
The Cardinals at least made a Super Bowl.
The Chiefs and Chargers are always on TV.
The Chargers made a Super Bowl.
That's true.
If I go back to the L.T. days.
And then when I was a kid in the 80s, Dan Fouts,
they would show those a lot.
I think it's the Cardinals.
I mean, they had that one year with Kurt Warner.
But when's the last time you've cared about a Cardinals game?
Well, that is the only win my Titans have this year when they were tripping over the football in the fourth quarter.
But before that, none.
Our video game, Mario had a great Larry Fitzgerald moment.
Do you remember that?
Yes, he asked, that was true.
We went to a party.
and Mario, who's 25, 26, went up to Larry Fitzgerald
and asked for a picture, and Larry Fitzgerald thought he meant he wanted a picture,
and he instead wanted Larry Fitzgerald to take a picture of us.
He's like, I'll just get this guy to take a photo and proceed to walk to Larry Fitzgerald was.
So he asked Larry Fitzgerald if Larry Fitzgerald would take a picture of us.
And not be in it.
And not be in it.
Nice guy, though.
Took a good picture.
He took it, didn't he?
I think he did.
Yeah. What a nice guy.
Can you imagine that, by the way?
It's like a prank thing somebody would do.
Yeah.
I mean, I know Larry Fitzgerald, but they did that to me.
He got the Uval game the other night.
I was talking with Craig Greenberg, the mayor of Louisville, he's my friend.
Guy walks up to me and goes, can I get your picture?
And he hands it, or can I get a picture and he hands it to me and then takes one's Craig?
It's like, come on, man.
That's good.
So, same thing.
with that.
The Eagles just traded for Jair Alexander to bolster their secondary right before the trade deadline.
He just decided this week to step away from football to get right physically and mentally.
Yeah, I was sorry to hear that.
I mean, they just made a trade.
Would they give like a six or seven round pick for him?
It was a late round pick swap.
It was a late round, so not much.
Yeah.
Well, I hope he's all right.
That kid played at Louisville.
Seemed like he was good for a long time.
So I hope whatever it is, it makes it better.
you know what?
If something's happening where you don't feel like you can be at your best,
good to step away and go take care of it.
Yeah, long time.
Packer was with the Ravens just for a little bit and now this.
So he's battling something.
Talk about a guy who's gotten on three good.
Yeah.
I mean, he's talking about getting three good organizations.
But he's only with the Eagles for a week and then he was out.
And Ravens was just the beginning of this year.
So I hope he gets better.
He's still youngish for his position.
Got a little more football in him.
I think he's right.
Do he play when Lamar played or was maybe a little bit four?
I don't know exactly what games, but he was with them for a stint.
A cup of coffee, as they say.
That's right.
What's next?
And finally, we started with the Giants.
We'll end with the Giants after firing their head coach.
And with Jackson Dart still in concussion protocol, James Winston will be making the start this like that.
Oh, that's exciting.
Can't wait.
James Winston, he's talking about a guy who's going to have a good television career.
Although I don't know what you can put him on because he could say anything.
Whatever it is, I'll watch.
He is very entertaining
And the video of him at the press conference was excellent
Singing Hamilton
He was singing Hamilton
That's right
And he was like 10th anniversary
Is Russell Wilson like is he okay
He says he's not retiring
He just stinks I guess
Boy nobody has had a more precipitous fall
In all parts of life than Russell Wilson
He said he hasn't asked for a release
He wants to stick around
And do what
Back up James Winston I guess
let's ride
is this one of those
you just like
you do like an office space
and you give him a smaller
and smaller locker
it's like all right Russell
make him fly
charter spirit
put the practice squad guy
between him and James
make him third
yeah is he
is he is Russell even
going to be the backup
yeah
I think so
what if they bring in
a Bailey Zappy
I feel like every time
Bailey Zappy gets brought in
you know it's over
that's a western guy
yeah that's your boy Billy
he's a hilltopper
like NCAA
records right now, by the way.
So keep your name out of...
Did you cover him in college?
No.
Okay, I just missed it.
But I do feel like any time something's gone really bad,
Bailey Zappy is involved.
Like when he came in and Shador Sanders,
got Demo the practice squad for Bailey Zappy.
I think Bailey Zappy was like,
who got brought in to kind of end Matt Jones's time in New England?
There I go.
Here comes Bailey Zappy.
It's true.
So I think that's always a signal
When you see Bailey Zappy, things are not going with
Do you think you have like a cave at his house
He's just sitting in there with pads all around
I'm just waiting for that signal to go off somewhere in the league
I do wonder if those guys that are
Known but not on a team like Flacco
Just watch and flip from channel
To channel hoping somebody gets hurt
Studying every offense
receivers where you want to go
Somebody goes down and they're like come on
I'm not sure if Zappi does that
He probably wouldn't, a Western man like that.
Yeah, I mean, backup's a good job.
I mean, you hold a clipboard, you make millions of dollars.
He was in my home's back out.
Do you?
Yeah.
I don't think you make millions.
I mean, some of them do, but I don't think, I don't think, I don't think, I'm just going to take.
I don't think Bailey Zappi's getting a million dollars.
Practice squad would be a good job in the NFL.
Yeah, you don't do anything.
And you still make six figures.
Bailey Zappie's on a one year, $1.1.1 million dollar.
No way.
Millionaire.
Bailey Zappy makes one.
point one million dollars according to the internet wow what a good life i should have been better at
quarterback yeah jeff teague which has nothing to do with bailey zappie but i was listening to
jeff teague this morning and he had a great thing about guys making money and he was like when i was
young nobody told me you could make money with money he was like when i made five million
dollars i was like well if i live 50 years i could have a hundred thousand dollars a year and
somebody was like, you could put it in an account and it makes interest.
And he just, I said, I looked at that guy and went, you crazy.
Which I thought was one of the great clips.
You need to look it up.
Jeff Teague talking about interest is a really good clip.
Maybe he could lead a financial literacy class for the NBA.
I think they should teach that for a lot of guys.
So I ask you to look up, Billy, the playoff situation.
Do you have that for me?
I do.
So if the playoffs started today, what would it look like?
Do you want the NFC or the AFC first?
Let's start with the AFC.
The AFC, the Colts would be receiving a buy.
The two-seat Broncos would take on the seven-seed Jaguars.
The Pats.
Okay, Broncos Jaguars, that would be the Saturday noon game.
You know how they have three games each day.
I can guarantee you Saturday noon.
That's when they play Broncos Jaguars.
Yeah, I would agree.
Without question.
What's the next one?
would be the three-seed Patriots versus the six-seed Bills.
Oh, that would be a nice game.
Yeah.
That's good.
And then you have the four-seed Pittsburgh Steelers versus the five-seed L-A-C chargers.
Were you figuring that in real-time, what LAC stood for?
No, I was just adding that for flare.
So right now the Chiefs would not be in.
A good flare.
Correct.
And the Chiefs play the Broncos this week.
Big game for the Chiefs.
Big game.
Big game for the Chiefs.
Boy, that would be crazy because I still think they're the best team.
And if they're not even in the playoffs, that would be nuts.
All right, NFC.
NFC, the Eagles would receive a buy as the one seed.
It would be the two-seed Seattle Seahawks versus the seven-seed Green Bay Packers.
Okay.
It would be the three-seat Detroit Lions versus the six-seed Chicago Bears.
Three-seat Detroit Lions.
Well, that would be fun.
That would be exciting.
A good rivalry game in the playoffs.
And then the four-five would be Bucks Rams.
That would be the other contender to be at one at noon on Saturday.
That would be the noon on Sunday game.
The Seahawks Rams are both 7 and 2 in play this week.
So that will go one way or another.
That will change.
Well, let's make some picks.
All right, Bill, you have won the Survivor League.
That's right.
But I want to see how long you can keep going, all right?
Because Drew and I are out.
So what are the teams you've picked so far?
Yeah, I don't have that in front of me.
Let me get that.
And then I'll be able to make my pick here.
What do you mean you don't have it in front of you?
I don't have my...
Did you leave it home?
No, I got it here.
I'm just highly unorganized like you the other day.
Should be behind your daddy Yankee notes.
Okay, here it is.
I got it, I got it.
Okay.
So I have Jags, Cards, Bills, Colts, Chiefs, Patriots, and then the one that I did last week, which was Seattle.
And then I also have, yeah, Seattle.
So who do you like here?
You know, it's tough.
I mean, the biggest favorite is Patriots, but you can't pick them.
No, can't pick the Patriots here.
I'm almost inclined to take the Texans over the Titans.
Easy.
When else are you going to pick the Texas?
But Davis, it's only five and a half points.
Davis Mills, though.
And he's kind of become our like podcast icon here.
Yeah.
I mean, I get that.
I think I would probably if I were you, so if I was still in the game,
I would probably take Packers over Giants.
No offense to James.
I took the Packers already.
Okay.
See, I don't think.
guy. Oh, I'm sorry. No, do you want to switch? No.
All right. You're going to take the... No, I do not. No, I'll stick with the Texas.
Actually, I don't think I've picked the Patriots yet either, so I could have picked them.
All right, so let's do our touchdown game. I think I go first this week.
And let's see, I'm going to take Stefan Diggs tonight.
Ooh, he's been good for me in real life, I think. On Thursday, night.
night football. I'm going to take Stefan Diggs. I've not picked him as my
wide receiver. Drew, you're next.
He's been hitting a quarterback or a running back. I've been betting on him. He's been hitting.
I will take, I'm going to go running back.
Have I used any running backs? Do you have my list? I don't know who I've used.
I've used Sequin, I know. I don't have the list. I know I've used Sakewon.
I'll get a, I'll get one that's off the grid that I haven't used. I'll say Josh Jacobs
against the Giants. I know I haven't used him. That should be a blowout.
Josh Jacobs.
All right.
So Stefan Diggs Josh Jacobs.
Billy, that means you got to pick a quarterback.
Who have you picked?
Jackson Dart.
All right.
That's it?
Yeah, I believe so.
Okay, so what quarterback do you want?
I'm sticking with the Giants.
I'm going James Winston.
What?
What?
What?
Of all these guys, you got Jalen Hertz, you got Mahomes, you got Lamar.
You're going to take James Winston?
I like it.
Billy, last time you did this was Jackson Dart and all he does is rush touchdown.
So you're up 4-3-1?
You are.
I'm up 4-3-1.
And you think the way to catch up is to pick James Winston.
Yeah.
I mean, anybody could pick Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts.
Yeah, but you haven't yet.
You could do it.
Yeah.
It's not fun, though.
Maybe I will later.
Who bets on the favorite?
How often you get Jamesis starting?
I mean, you...
Maybe the rest of the year.
The one guy I was too afraid to go up to and ask for a picture.
Oh, you were scared.
Yeah.
You thought he was going to get angry at you?
No.
He'd be the one guy that'd be nice enough to do it.
But as a big Tampa fan and just...
You're going to do when we get in that locker room.
Oh, I'll be fine.
I'll be fine.
Vita Vaya.
I'll be fine.
You're going to go up to –
toss it around the NFL and talking to Baker.
But you're going to go up to Vita Vaya and go Billy Rutledge, NFL?
Billy R. Sports.
That's probably what he'd know me by.
NFL.
Oh, you think you wouldn't know you.
But I don't know how they do it.
Like, do they still open the locker room or is it like –
I think they open the hardro sports thing or like a podium.
Free for all.
Yeah, I don't know.
I mean, like, the whole thing's going to be interesting because we're not going to fit in with these people.
I mean, with the rest of this media, we're not going to fit in.
We're going to be trying to break into Iron Eagle and JJ Watts booth.
I'm going to have pieces of a table on my back when I'm checking into the press box.
Yeah.
Probably can't wear a Tom Brady jersey into the press box.
So a couple of rules here for you two.
You cannot wear, I mean, you can wear whatever you want, but you can't wear team gear.
So you can't wear bills gear in the press box.
Now, you can wear it if you want to wear it when you're out in the parking lot.
You can't wear it in the press box.
I don't even know if you have bills gear,
which means you can't wear Tampa gear.
Okay.
I don't want you all to embarrass me.
I've traveled enough with Drew.
I know he won't embarrass me.
Mario, you can't ask people for pictures.
Selfies.
I'm serious.
Don't run out there to Josh Allen.
You can't go up there, Baker Mayfield and go,
what up, bro.
Big fan.
Can we get a selfie?
You can't do that.
All right?
Or ask Baker to take a picture of you.
You can do that.
Oh, you can do that.
Billy, the bucks are your team.
Please, when we walk in, don't cry.
I can handle that.
All right.
Are you going to ask a question?
Oh, yeah.
No, leave aside the player thing.
That's easy.
Anybody can do that.
But in the media setting with the coach.
Oh, to Todd?
At the podium.
You got a Todd question?
Todd.
I'll think of one.
I can think of one for Todd.
Yeah, be thinking of one.
You should have one ready.
Winning one and a losing one.
That would be exciting for you to ask.
I asked a question at the Ryder Cup for that.
reason. I was like, I want to say that I asked
a question at the Rider Cup. So I asked Lee
Westwood a question. I asked him what
he thought of Kentucky. Yeah. And he was
like, mate.
You could say,
you have to introduce yourself. Billy Relidge, KSR pre-show
and the NFL. Yeah, no, no, Billy Routledge,
NFL. NFL.
Billy Routledge,
personal assistant, Roger Gooden.
You can do that one because it sounds like you've already been
introducing yourself like that for a few weeks now.
So you got that one down.
Well, we will see everyone in Buffalo.
Sunday night, the podcast will be from Buffalo,
allegedly at a bar if Billy can find one.
We'll figure it out.
Otherwise, it might be from our house in Erie, Pennsylvania.
But thank you all very much for listening.
We'll see you later.
